Made myself a fanny pack! I hope it'll be useful on holiday.

The main fabric is a linen with screen printed leaves. My parents found the linen with other old bed linens, so I'm not sure how old it is exactly, but probably pretty old. They had it screen printed by a friend, ZEEBRA.

The lining (and scraps) are from a cotton that happens to match really well.

Pattern is free from Diyctators (instructions are in German).

Pretty simple.

His phone case doubles as a purse with the bits and bobs he puts in there.

It’s literally a fanny pack that just happens to have space to hold a phone.

Need a napkin? Hold on, let him get it from his phone case real quick.

It’s really handy but a little ridiculous with the amount of stuff he carries in there.

The battery life is hammered thanks to the hours of temple run his siblings play on it whenever he goes home for holidays.

His wallpaper is probably a picture of his siblings, which is cute.

We’ve already seen his phone multiple times in game, so I don’t think I have much to say.

His wallpaper is bold, like the phone case he uses.

It’s not exactly ugly, but it definitely suits him.

It’s just not something most people would want to put on their phones.

He’s 100% an iPhone user but he’s the type that gets the new model that comes out every year.

Either that or he’s using one of his sister’s hand-me-downs that’s an iPhone 13. (just like me fr).

He barely uses it, though.

Most of the time, he tosses the phone at his nephew to keep him distracted when he sees him at home.

Because of that, he’s got a home screen full of kids' mobile games like Talking Tom and Subway Surfers.

The phone’s got a small crack in the screen from when Cheka dropped it but it wasn’t a big deal so Leona never bothered to get it fixed or replaced.

He’s got a leopard print phone case and his wallpaper is a selfie Reggie took with him sleeping and set it on his lock screen that he never bothered to change.

It’s a gift from Leona that he tossed at Ruggie one day.

Ruggie is pretty grateful for it since he was wondering how he’d contact his grandmother back at home without a phone since he wouldn’t be able to get a durable one until a while of saving up.

He takes pretty good care of it and there’s no scratches or cracks.

His wallpaper matches the selfie of himself and Leona that he set as the latter’s lock screen.

He got himself a heavy-duty phone case just to make sure it doesn’t get damaged.

He’s an iPhone user, probably sporting an iPhone 12 Pro Max. You can’t blame him for needing a large phone when he’s got pretty big hands.

He uses a clear case that’s somehow got no yellowing to it and his phone is green. It’s got a pretty wrecked battery life thanks to the younger sibling x phone syndrome.

His little sister killed the battery life with her 500 cumulative hours on Roblox and Among Us.

He doesn’t really mind since he doesn’t use his phone more than like 4 times a day.

He’s one of those people who thinks iPhones are a scam and refuses to buy into it, like the classy businessman he is.

Idk if Merfolk have waterproof phones or just communicate with echolocation but let’s pretend that the fish people have phones too.

He sports a Samsung Z Flip5 in lavender. He also has a baby blue phone case with a little seashell on it.

The twins tease him about his cutesy design choice but he shrugs it off since he knows it looks good.

It’s a shame he rarely uses the phone when he’s not going to send emails, do schoolwork and post on the lounge’s social media, though.

He also watches food ASMR videos. His wallpaper is a picture of the sea in the usual daytime lighting.

His phone is in pretty good condition.

Though, he’s got a few spots of soil trapped between his screen protector and the end of his phone case.

There’s only like a single, tiny crack on his screen protector for dropping it on the floor face first when in the Botanical Garden talking to his little plants.

Can’t really blame him since he looks up tutorials when handling new spores. His phone case is transparent with (you guessed it) a pattern of little mushrooms littered on the back.

His wallpaper is a pic of him and Floyd when they were in their first year at NRC. It’s a strangely cute phone for someone as shady as Jade.

He’s someone who takes really good care of his stuff and has a bunch of screen protectors since he knows how prone he is to dropping and accidentally throwing his phone.

His battery is fried tho since he’s notorious for playing a bunch of those silly mobile games like Fill the Fridge or Crowd City.

When he isn’t tormenting people with his deadly hugs, he’s sat perched in a corner gargoyle style with his eyes glazed over as he plays Block Blast with a score of 10,000.

Floyd’s pretty diverse with his phone case and he changes it depending on how he feels that day. Most of the time, he goes for his pale green one with an eel drawing on it, like the bag he used during the Camp Vargas event.

His wallpaper is either matching with Jade’s or a random photo of the sea he took a few days ago.

He’s not that bad though, since he gives his old one to his sibling and they pass it on to the next sibling like One For All.

His phone has no cracks on it too. He makes sure to take good care of it since he knows it’s gonna be his younger sibling’s phone in about a year and he doesn’t want them to have to use a broken phone.

He’s just nice like that. His phone case is orange with little peach circles dotted all around the back.

He’s another notorious mobile gamer with his number 1 game being Where’s My Water. His lock screen is a particularly nice-looking spread from one of the many parties he’s had over at his dorm.

It’s scary how he has no games on his phone except Wordscapes.

Believes screen time is terrible for your skin (is it?) and refuses to spend more than an hour on it outside of updating his different social media accounts.

His phone has no cracks and he hates greasy screens so best believe he’s got a glass cleaner wipe tucked into his pocket everywhere he goes.

His phone case is purple with a pop socket in the shape of a gold crown. His wallpaper is a picture of himself (ofc it is) from his favourite photoshoot.

Sometimes he needs a phone to do phone stuff and sometimes he needs a tablet to view a proper sized map of NRC for various uses I will not elaborate on for legal reasons.

When Vil takes away Epel’s phone, I imagine Rook allows Epel to use his phone to play Subway Surfers or Roblox.

Lives risky life and doesn’t use a case or a screen protector.

His phone somehow isn’t shattered especially after the billion times it’s fallen to the ground at the speed of light when he watches people from trees.

Anytime he falls, the phone disassembles and his battery goes flying.

Sometimes he stays up until 3 am playing COD mobile with Deuce and hides his phone under his pillow every time Vil opens his door to make sure the first years are asleep.

His wallpaper is a really cute selfie with him and the rest of the first year group. No phone case.

Lilia and co had spent hours looking for him. After that, Lilia got him one of those “my first phone” gadgets for kids where the only contact numbers are emergency services and parents and the “parents” can easily access his location.

That way, they can prevent any accidents that creates their very own “Finding Sebek” franchise.

I head canon Percy is great at styling hair, no matter what texture or length it is he will always find a hairstyle that fits the person, he has one or two magazines hidden somewhere in his cabin and at least five back at New York.

And we have Sally Jackson to thank for that, growing up Percy was definitely a lonely child approaching other children in hopes of befriending them only to be rejected, Sally always looked at him with a heavy heart whenever he would run into her arms crying.

To keep Percy at least somewhat happy and busy she would let him help her around the house, which he didn't mind- he was more than happy to spend time with his mom even if it was boring, through this he learned how to be great at cooking, sewing, and carpentry.

It was a hot day when Percy noticed that his mom's usually undone hair was put up into a braided bun while working around the house, interested in the intricate pattern that the braid did and how her hair was in a circular shape, so normally as the curious child he is, he asked.

And a brand-new door of interest opened up for him, after a week of Sally teaching him the basics, he would ask his mom if he could style her hair before she went to work, which she happily obliged Sally would go strutting in her workplace with a ponytail to loose or tight and a bun too messy, and would come back home with her hair undone and request Percy if he could put her hair up again, which makes the little boy squeal in delight as he readies hair accessories he bought with his pocket money to style with.

These are moments where Sally would let Percy's creativity get to him as he tried more unique hairstyles, Sally would fall asleep to her son muttering to himself if he should add more braids or lessen it and would wake up to a head full of hair clips, and eventually every day he got better and better.

When they were sent off to retrieve the stolen lightning bolt, Percy noticed Annabeth getting annoyed every time she tried to tame her unruly hair when they had the time to take a break, he didn't know if he should help or not since it's not like they were friends in the first place, but he yearned for some normalcy ever since he was revealed as a demigod, so with a few more minutes of thinking and watching Annabeth struggle he sighed and removed a scrunchie off his wrist and stood up, Annabeth stared at him with her grey eyes filled of confusion as she noticed the boy moving closer to her.

With an awkward smile, he gazed down at her and asked if he could help her tie her hair up, so she wouldn't get distracted by it when they traveled, a few minutes of Annabeth judgingly looking him up and down and a voice laced of hesitance asking if he could really style hair she complied, and was pleasantly surprised at the simple but neat ponytail Percy did, ever since that day Annabeth would ask him to do her hair and every single time Percy did not dissapoint.

And now a few years later, in the present, every once in a while, a younger camper, nymph, naiad, or Oceanid would ask if he could do their hair and Percy would immediately accept no matter what the length or texture of the hair, he would have a little shoulder bag on him or a fanny pack just full of hair accessories and brushes of different kind ready just in case one of the campers had a bad hair day.

The Eras of Manus VinDriptae

A breakdown of their outfits and the eras they take inspiration from. Expanded from my Foundation vs Manus Uniforms post.

Arcana

Arcana's style of mermaid dress didn't become popular until the 1930s however the trumpet bottom in her dress didn't start to gain favor in gowns until the 60s. Her dress' wrap style didn't become popular until the late 70s either as a symbol of liberation. The ribbons on her dress are very Rococo inspired but the style of layered bows didn't become popular again until 2021.

Her shrug also become popular in the 1950s to be worn over dresses for warmth or modesty, although Arcana's use of the shrug seems to be more for layering with her opera length glove.

Arcana's hair accessory is closest to a hair or hat pins. Hair pins would be worn as they are today where they'd clip something into the hair to hang down on the head and accessorize the hair and frame the face. Hat pins would serve a similar function in fastening a hat and it's accessories to the head and reached the height of their popularity in the Victorian Era before subsequently being banned while used as tools for self defense.

Forget Me Not

Forget Me Not has the weirdest case for his outfit because his suit vest is between proper evening wear for 1910, but his main chapter is in 1929 which had already had a much higher cut by that time. He's adhering to a decade behind which fits the struggle we can imply from his story anecdote, but even then there's some inconsistencies. Despite the odd cut for an evening suit, the floral pattern was a common menswear pattern alongside tartans.

His pants are also from a style much more preferred by the 1970s. He has a pair of fitted slacks that you wouldn't see in 1929 in black cotton outside of women wearing them. The preference and expectation for men was earthy or neutral tones which were navy at the darkest. Fitted slacks also didn't become popular until the 70s because the 20th century began with lose and fitting clothes and higher volumes of fabric before ending with tighter fits and light versatile fabric.

His shoes.. I. Shoes from 1929 look closer to modern bowling or tap shoes with that specific cut and layering. If not, they'd be a solid leather loafer styled shoe. All things considered, men's shoes haven't changed much over the years. That type of buckled shoe hasn't been worn by men since around the 1790s because their shoes became efficient then the designs only changed as different materials and techniques were invented.

Forget Me Not's cravat wasn't popular in 1929 since around 1840, and they didn't see a resurgence until the 1950s-80s. The cut and styling also weren't things seen, but I'd give that mostly to his preference as an arcanist.

(I COULD NOT tell you what's happening with his waist buckles. Yoo Joonghyuk ass straps... It's something you'd see from a ren fair or munchkin comic over anything. The only time belts have been worn in that place in history have been with women for chest support, fanny packs, or weapons. Forget Me Not doesn't use a wand or anything and if he can use something like a conductors wand for his arcanum, it's not even strapped there. Which is a good decision because being that conspicuous as an arcanist in that time period wasn't a good idea!!)

Ms Grace

Ms Grace's dress is similar to those in 1957, but strapless dresses didn't become popular until the 80s, but a sweetheart neckline with a lace high neck wasn't popular in evening gowns in that era. Swing dresses typically had a straight or boat neckline in the late 50s to early 60s, and the ones that did were never strapless. Balenciaga experimented with necklines extended via lace in 1957, and lace drapery was popular with Chanel in 1960's cocktail gowns, which mirror Grace's outfit more, but the 1950s-1960s widely showed a preference for lace in drapery or embroidery over necklines.

Modern sequins also became popular in the 1940s-50s due to a innovation in the creation process. Her heels also adhere to time period shoes in 1957.

Her accessories also seem to be inspired from the 1840's-60's with her choker and bonnet set being popular during those eras before a resurgence in the 90's. Her scarf wasn't a popular item until the 1990's, as during the 1950's-60's scarfs were draped over the shoulders or worn over clothing as another layer, and as time went on they became tighter fitting after less layers were favored more. One thing I consider more of an oddity in her outfit is the mourning poke bonnet she wears that takes inspiration from the ones in the 1840s. If anything, I'd just assume that it's apart of Ms Grace's ideals as a member of the Manus and her opinions on mortality.

Sophia

Sophia is also an odd case like Arcana because Apeiron considered themselves still moving through time due to the ritual protecting the island, so her outfit has to be based on the other members of Apeiron. Apeiron itself has to be counted as it's own style with one era: 1999. They had frequent contact with and initiates from the outside world before the Storm and even sometime after, so it can be assumed they took techniques and materials from them up to 1999. They also had the variable of being a strictly arcanist community which values creative self expression and design aspects.

From 6's lines we can assume all of the clothing from Apeiron is cut to be mathematical and tailored to the arcanist wearing them. Their designs likely fit a ratio or pattern that I couldn't describe since I learned visual design and fashion composition visually over any formal theory.

Sophia's original outfit and Manus uniform mirrors one another, and she even keeps her gloves from her original outfit. Her outfit mirroring her original in the main aspects apart from the open midriff. Without making another post entirely on Apeiron, Sophia's shift from the Manus brought on mostly a shift in motifs apart from her pleating. Pleating became popular among women in the 1920s and reached their peak in the 80s before dying down again to focus on new fabrics over techniques in preparation for the y2k 2000s.

has a leather women's bifold with her initials and a floral-type pattern. she keeps receipts for at least a month, so that wallet is thicc. has all kind of loose change floating around in there and sometimes just dumps it when she comes across a busker who plays a song she likes

def an accordion-style or cluth wallet girl. she has cards for days. debit, credit, loyalty, whatever, she has all the cards. there's more than one expired gift card in there. she don't care

matt feels like a metal wallet/cash clip kinda guy. he just wants some a no nonsense kind of wallet and "cleans" it weekly. one compartment for bills, where he also stashes receipts until the next cleaning and one for his neatly organised cards. he also keeps a lucky coin taped to that wallet

either metal wallet or men's bifold. probably bifold, though. stashes receipts in there until it almost bursts and/or he feels the noticeable shift in position when he sits down and then throws out everything, no mercy, no returns or refunds, even if the receipt is about 30 minutes old
