I was playing around with some polymer clay today and made a smol a-han! ^^

 design is based on @ailee-art 's very cute chibi a-han art here

(fun fact: he was actually very hot coming out of the oven so I really did have to use chopsticks to pick him up XD)

Chulian on Lake

For today's fig post we have this amazing set - that lights up!

This complex and beautiful set features Zhang Zhehan's lotus spirit Qing Lian (aka Xiao-Zhe) from his advertisement for Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy, together with Gong Jun's Dong Fang Yuechu from the upcoming drama Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Yue Hong.

First, just a few pictures of our ethereal lotus fairy:

That last one in particular is the inspiration for this fig here.

This set arrived in an enormous, fairly heavy box. I had to ship this air mail because of the electronics involved in it.

I was a little worried about how big and delicate this set was, but it arrived in perfect shape. Full credit to the fig maker and the factory for cushioning it so well.

Here's all the pieces. I still think it's incredible all the fragile flowers and stems make it through.

You can see here the little tiny holes (up at the top by the edges) where you can insert the lotus leaves and flowers. They went in quite easily and were very stable.

Here's a close up of the electronics. The set came with both batteries and a USB cord. The button there turns on the lake light.

Here's the lake by itself, before the figs go in. As you can see, Yuechu stands in the boat via peg legs. Very seaworthy of him! Qing Lian just lays down however you like inside the lotus.

Before we put the figs into their respective conveyances, here's a closeup of them. Qing Lian is all curled up and sleepy eyed, and Yuechu is casting a magical fireball of some sorts.

I could only really get two angles of the figs before they went into the lake, since neither of them stand by themselves.

This was a very difficult set to get good pictures of. One, because I lack any real photography skills, and my phone kept hyperfocusing on certain parts and blurring out the rest. But, as we go around the fig, you do end up seeing the whole thing. So please bear with me!

Beautiful, isn't it? I love how detailed these figures are - their hair is amazing.

Here's a top-down view. Yuechu fits in the boat beautifully - the pegs went right in, and he's pretty secure in there. No glue needed. Xiao Zhe is resting peacefully and easily in his lotus.

We'll do a couple closeups here. He's quite tiny all curled up like that!

Huh. Is Yuechu conjuring up Qing Lian? It looks like we have a lotus in the middle of that magic. I'm not sure!

Our lotus lake at midnight! It does in fact light up like a dream. I just went ahead and plugged the USB cord in the wall, so it's a little less beautiful than it would be cordless with the batteries. Still, it's very lovely.

The fig maker included a double-sided postcard, a matching keychain with the art, the batteries, and the USB cord (that I had already plugged in).

I really appreciate how she included both. This is her first set, and I hope she makes more!

My Wrestling Beginnings

This will actually be my first time attempting to really write an essay on this kind of thing: this being why I tend to put so much energy into pro wrestling. 

I've always loved it since I had started to watch it in the late Attitude Era/Early Ruthless Aggression Era. As I got older, it became one of my many escapes when I would watch cable TV way back when & after branching out to other wrestling shows (the first being Impact/TNA Wrestling), I never really went back.

However….over the years, becoming jaded with the product & anything associated with wrestling eventually caught up with me. 

Between the companies showing blatantly that we are nothing more than either dollar signs/Scapegoats, the rabid "fans" or "stans" and the constant need for "war" and comparisons; I was honestly just tired and needed a break. 

The ironic thing is that while on that break, this is where I had found 2 matches that legit reminded me of why it was my escape, one of the things that kept me sane: The story of the Aces N Eights leading to AJ Styles turning baby face again and AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 10 find New Japan Pro Wrestling. 

From there, you could say that I fell in love with wrestling again. Plus after watching Nakamura and Styles (which was considered my Match of the Year at the time); the former piqued my interest in content outside of my usual. 

And thus: my journey discovering indie wrestling promotions began. MLW, ROH, Some of Impact again, NJPW and even House of Glory. 

Now at first, it was difficult to really get into it because there were some stories and feuds that I didn't entirely understand: some characters I didn't fully understand and also who was heel or babyface. 

Over time; it became clear that the line between babyface and heel is pretty thin. If said person's heel/face work on the microphone was good; if said person had in ring work that was beyond just standardly great, the line would become even more blurred. 

Therefore, I could slowly get more interested in the matches as time went on and I went down the backlog. It was then that it happened: that spark which was long gone after a good 3 years or so had finally returned in full force. 

The New Hart Dynasty, Low Ki, Taiji Ishimori, Petey Williams, Adam Cole, Eddie Kingston, Io Shirai, Meiko Satamura, Mercedes Martinez, Deonna Purrazzo & so many names that I don't really off the top of my head. 

There was just so much I hadn't seen & so much talent that over time, my fantasy booking phase started up. Now I'm not a professional at all but A. it made me happy to think of the matches & storylines you could come up with for dream matches and B. it lets me put together 2 of my favorite passions: Wrestling and Creative Writing.

This was really long to read but in short, it's a bit of a small love letter to why I still love wrestling & why I even remade this page in the first place.

Niubi took a fancy to Ye Lingsheng, a beautiful young man who came with his parents to offer incense, but Lingsheng was immediately kidnapped by the witch who transformed into a young woman. The Bull Demon King leads Princess Iron Fan and Niubi to the Heavenly Demon Cave to pursue the souls, and each casts magic spells with the Heavenly Witch. As a result, the Bull Demon King defeated the Heavenly Witch with the wind and fire fan and brought the soul back to the Fire Cloud Cave.

The Heavenly Witch went to the Peacock Cave to ask for help, and joined forces with the Jade Faced Vixen, Peacock, and Pheasant spirits to attack the Fire Cloud Cave, killing them until the sky was dark and the earth was dark. When they were evenly matched, the Bull Demon King killed Jade Faced Vixen with the Nine Dragon Fire Mask. The Heavenly Witch transforms into Princess Iron Fan and goes into the cave to snatch back the souls, and then steals the Wind and Fire Fan. After hearing the news, the Bull Demon King was furious and ordered Princess Iron Fan to transform into the Heavenly Witch to steal the Hunyuan Universe Bag from his teacher, Lady of Lishan Mountain, and set up the Tiangang Formation. The Heavenly Witch fights the Bull Demon King again, but unexpectedly the Fire Cloud Cave is surrounded by the Qiankun Bag. At the critical moment, Lady of Lishan Mountain arrived, took back the Qiankun Bag, subdued the Bull Demon King and the Heavenly Witch, and rescued the souls.

I can not hold myself back. One of many pictures of ZZH from the mobile game Jade Dynasty New Fantasy. ZZH in the koi version. This was the most beautiful ad for a game I've ever seen. Almost everything about it was perfect. Except for that gray wig. But the appearance of ZZH defended itself in it. He had on the age of ZZH airy red robe with gold accessories. A robe that sometimes increased the slit on the chest that it was finally fastened at a certain height. In addition, gold jewelry that enriched the appearance of ZZH. Who remembers this shot when ZZH's bare foot touched the surface of the water, this golden ankle bracelet. It was so effective and unforgettable. Here's a different photo. ZZH is sitting here dressed in his red robes by the lotus pond. His face with a subtle smile is turned towards the viewer. With minimal makeup, despite a slightly misplaced wig, he looks cute here. Small Wine Cup Qing Lian

This fig maker loves Qing Lian, also known as Xiao-Zhe, the lotus spirit played by Zhang Zhehan for the video game Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy. This is her third (and I am sure by no means last) Qing Lian fig.

You get a bonus A-Han with this too! The shot of A-Han in the shower of gold is just incredible, and the shot of Xiao-Zhe taking a drink is not so shabby either. Speaking of taking a drink...

Beautiful. I'm so appreciative of this commercial for all the gorgeous art, dolls, figs, merch, fan fic etc. that it inspired!

Our little day drinker arrived safely wedged in his protective polystyrene foam box. There was cotton fluff packed in around him, but I took it out so you could see how he was tucked in there. For figs like this, I take a box opener and cut a vertical line down from the hollow to the bottom, and then kind of peel the plastic foam open so the fig can just gently roll out into my hands. I'd be too afraid to just pull it out of the box as is.

And here he is, as handsome and as starry eyed as can be. The wine cup is not removable (thankfully), so I don't have to worry about it falling off or getting lost.

His costume is quite intricate with all the asymmetrical layers, but of course that's what makes it pretty.

I've always really liked this outfit since it's more of a pants and tunic look, which is a bit different than the robes. I love the robes! But this is a cool look to mix it up.

I like all these fantasy costumes, they're so fun.

The split tails of the back of the tunic are very cool too.

This fig stands very nicely, no doubt in part to those high white boots.

I really like how the fig maker rendered his sleeve here.

My favorite fig angle continues to deliver, with a nice shot of the asymmetry and layering of the outfit.

Rosy fig cheeks are just too adorable, aren't they? I love the stars in his eyes and his quirky little smile.

Here's a bit of a closeup so you can see the detail on the outfit.

I love those nice wide fig feet! Makes him stand that much better. You can see here how the cup is one piece there in the hand.

His guan is relatively simple, but the very high, substantial ponytail is a distinctive characteristic of this look.

The really gorgeous box cards. These are so dreamy and beautiful.

Official Plot of A-han and Master Zhe’s Arc in the game

Story of green lotus and koi. Master Zhe (green) and A-han (red) used to be a lotus and a koi in a pond outside a temple. After they turned human, (there’s a cute and soft scene of them when they were young children promising to be brothers, friends for life and protecting each other),Master Zhe took in all the bad energy to protect A-han. As a result, he went crazy and killed many people and also injured A-han.

After Master Zhe recovered his senses, he was forced to join the demon sect if not A-han will be killed. When they meet again Master Zhe is already a fearsome demon lord, the Black-hearted Man orders him to kill A-han but he can’t so he takes the hit that was meant for A-han and his soul is ripped leaving only a green lotus petal which A-han keeps for 600 years. A-han after so many years tries to find out the truth why Master Zhe joined the demon clan all those years ago and asks the player to help him find Master Zhe’s soul fragment that can help him be revived. In the end, A-han succeeds and Master Zhe lives and now they spend their days in Koi Manor, drinking, playing music etc.

Character Descriptions

Master Zhe’s hobby is to stop people from eating fish. If anyone in the demon sect eats fish, he will scold and beat them up. He doesn’t like people eating fish but he himself enjoys fishing and can spend the whole day fishing. He also likes the sound of bells and has bells all over his house because it reminds him of a certain someone.

A-han enjoys freedom. He loves sitting by the temple pond and tries his best to grant the wishes of people who came to make a wish. He likes collecting all kind of lotuses but will say “nothing can surpass my Master Zhe”. He also likes playing with water with his bare feet.
