My Humanities mini-essay on racism was pretty good in my opinion:

I wish, every day, that I could go back to the hopeful innocence of my childhood. The way I viewed the world as an enormous adventure and humanity as a giant family. It’s that youthful naivety that made life so much fun. However, I had to go and grow up and now I can’t seem to experience a single interaction without bracing myself for potential racism. 

You would think the world would have gotten more progressive at this point. After all, it is the 21st Century. The generation of change. Movements of racial awareness and acceptance are being recognised. I had hope. I started to try and rebuild my faith in humanity, only for it to be diminished once more just a year ago.

My family and I went shoe shopping for my little brother who got selected to be part of the school’s rugby team. He has a bit of a lanky frame, but he is tall and very fast. I knew he’d do well. We went to numerous shops and interacted with many employees, most of whom were white people. It’s the way they take glances at my parents - make eye contact before blatantly ignoring us, only to then go and ask other white customers if they would like assistance. It’s the way they recommend cheaper options without proper foot support versus the more high-end models. It’s the way they ask for clarification when they’re told my little brother is on his school rugby team. My blood boils each time I recall that kind of self-righteous, passive aggressive behaviour. I believe Professor Cassie Pittman sums up the experience of racism within the everyday customer; “Many shoppers feel their race undermines their credibility in stores,” Pittman said. “They’re treated differently, but not wholly denied access…” (Robison, 2022). I hadn’t experienced such shameless racism in a while. It really made me sit down and think about all the times I had gone through a situation where, when observed from the perspective of a person of colour, is clear discrimination. For example, being chosen as part of a “random selection” by airport security. Except it happens every time we travel. 

I was reintroduced to this concept within ethics from a Humanities unit I did for Uni last semester, and it allowed me to question my interactions with others more critically from a lens of racial anxiety. Is it socially ethical of me to assume every negative experience as “racist”? Is it personally ethical of me to ignore my intuition and assume my race will never play a factor in my mistreatment? What’s sad is how it’s so deeply rooted in my mind that the world is inherently a bad place, that when I’m treated normally, I feel a genuine sense of shock and relief. Ultimately, I could never pinpoint a single instance as “transformative” as my sense of self strives for positivity. Therefore, every single time that positivity gets diminished by the harsh truth of reality, I feel myself transform once more to a colder, darker, more cynical me. I suppose I will continue to live in this cycle of regrowing my positivity and holding out my heart for the day when the world stops viewing us as colours rather than humans.

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.

...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).

I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

Hi, I appreciate you for helping to stop KOSA and helping people understand what KOSA is, and I agree with you that KOSA is terrible.

BUT we need to take a step back, and calm down. I know lots of people are freaking out about this act right now, I am too. But I think a lot of the chaos behind it is because of misinformation as well, specifically about the whole IDs.

I want to clarify to anyone if they are just skimming past my words that I am NOT ADVOCATING FOR KOSA, I hate KOSA, this act is definitely not to defend minors from the internet but instead HARM them even more as well as EVERYONE ELSE. I just think we are causing a lot of panic and chaos because of misinformation.

I just want to help calm people down, I tried to do my own research and tried to fact-check myself to make sure what Im saying is true, but if you know I said something wrong please let me know and I am so sorry if I misspoke, I will correct myself as soon as possible. 🙏

KOSA DOESNT REQUIRE A PERSONAL ID: I did my own research about the need of uploading a personal ID, but this doesn’t seem to be true. I will be reblogging a few things today that I found, and also this website for my evidence:

KOSA still needs to go through congress, and then the President. Although it may or already have passed through the Senate sadly, there is still another chance. So keep up with the rallying and keep giving attention to KOSA about how stupid it is! WE CAN STILL STOP KOSA!!! DO NOT GIVE UP!!

No but genuinely, how does Sun even get drunk... Like, is there some magic he's had this entire time that allows him to process alcohol in the same way as humans? Are nanomachines somehow susceptible to it??? Like I am truly wholly tryna figure something out for this because if robots really don't get effected by alcohol, then Sun's drinking really isn't a problem for the alcoholism reasons.

It might be a problem for like, maintenance reasons though. I don't think wine is particularly dangerous to robotic parts in any way—just as dangerous as water or soda or many other liquids—but if some of it isn't fully "processed" then it's probably gunking some stuff up internally. Maybe not to a fatal degree, but still to an annoying degree.

Idk just kinda thinkin' out loud. I think drinking headcanons are entertaining but they're really something that makes you go "yeah there's no way this could happen, I'm just bullshitting for fun" lmao 😭

youre really good at timing this cause i got this in the middle of making that one lol. He wont be back to his "old self" afterwards because he'll be more cognitively there though, aha. He remembers enough of it to make sense of what happened. What you've lost is building up already. He doesnt have much to take back, you know!! Of course it will be hard, hes stubborn as all hell.
