Let's Talk About Drolta's Historical Context

Okay, anyone who has been around like fifteen Months ago, when the first season of Castlevania Nocturne released knows the drill. Let's do some history.

I will talk a bit about some historical context of the new season and I am going to start with Drolta, because oh boy, she definitely is an interesting character in this context. After all we learn her backstory this season - and it is actually really interesting.

I am super sorry, right now I cannot do proper screenshots from the flashbacks. So bear with me.

Spoilers for season 2, obviously!

The first scene we see with Drolta is her at a temple of Sekhmet in Southern Egypt in what we get told is 1199 CE. Now, this is interesting. Because this is far, far after the end of anything recognizable as "Ancient Egypt". In 1199 CE what we now know as Egypt was under the control of the Ayyubid dynasty. A Muslim government.

Now, Egypt in terms of religion was a bit of a battleground in the early middle ages.

There is one thing y'all need to understand about the Ancient Egyptian religion. It has a lot of staying power. I have heard so many Egyptologists joke about this. Egypt was colonized so often - and while most other countries got then forced into another religion under the Romans and Greeks, somehow everyone in Egypt during Ancient Times went just and adopted the Egyptian religion. Something that is quite interesting, because Egyptian religion - in terms of anthropology - is an older religion that bears a lot of hallmarks of old religions. I talked about this before: From what we can say, first human religions worshipped animal gods, that then became some sort of chimera, that took up more and more human attributes, before the gods became humanoid in their appearance. And if you know anything about Egyptian religion, than it will be probably that the gods have all their animal aspects, dating it as a bit earlier than the Greek and Roman religion - even though some of the oldest Greek gods also have still their animal aspects (like Pan).

Now, due to the later Roman/Byzantine Empire Christianizing - and Egypt being part of it - Egypt was Christianized as well. And this is where we talk about this one historical figure that somehow haunts me in all my creative persuits: Emperor Theodosius I. He was a hardliner for Christianity. Until he came into power, Christianity was not exactly chill with the pagan religions, but accepted them somewhat. And then Theodosius enacted a decree that set fire to all the pagan temples in the Empire. And they burned down a lot of temples to the old gods. That was the Roman gods, the Greek gods, the Egyptian gods, and some pagan gods of a variety of smaller religions, like the Canaanites and such.

However, again: The Egyptian religion had a hell lot of staying power. So yes, people would often "convert" to Christianity at the point of a sword but secretly still pray to the old gods still.

Between the 7th and the 8th century, Egypt was taken over by the Muslims, and a lot of people converted to Islam. However, as I spoke about before: Muslims were always a lot more chill about other religions. So while people praying to other gods were higher taxed, it was generally just allowed.

In 1199 - as I said - Egypt was under the control of the Ayyubid Dynasty, with the majority of people living there being Muslim.

Realistically speaking, we do not have any historical evidence for any acitve temples to any of the Egyptian deities for after the 9th century, from all I know. While some aspects of the Ancient Egyptian religion were generally were incorporated into Muslim tradition - and still are to this day (like some Ancient holidays are still celebrated in Egypt to this day!) - but from all we know there was no active temple worship.

However, realistically speaking, obviously none of the temples held the actual mummy of an actual god. lol By the time Egypt Islamized, most of the actual mummies of even kings were long forgotten and burried under the sands of the deserts and people practices burial of the dead.

If there had actually been an active temple, yes. It is absolutely possible that this temple would have been attacked and plundered multiple times. And of course anyone still worshipping the old gods would absolutely know that their religion was kinda doomed to disappear. They would be a small holdout. And in this case there is of course the additional aspect of knowing that the goddess one prays to is already physically dead. (Fuck, I need to talk about the worldbuilding in this. I hope I will around it - because I am out of town over the weekend. Argh.)

The attackers we mainly see in the temple are just random bandits. However, the vampire who comes later, definitely wears a specific armor - though this is where I still need to do some research. While I recognize some aspects of the armor, I could not properly place it - because it is definitely a bit too early for Ottomans. (My first thought was Ottoman because of the helmet, but yeah, the Ottoman empire is 250 years out at this point.) The slightly pointed helmet was also used in some part of the Byzantine army, but again, this definitely is something I will look more into.

From there on, of course, her story gets more dominated not by the historical context, but by the fictional worldbuilding.

Something that is however interesting is, that she is of course a member of a cult - and that is by the historical definition of the word, not the modern one.

See, historically speaking cult members where people who among a religion praying to a pantheon served just one deity. In Drolta's case of course this deity is Sekhmet, whom she revears above all the other gods. So much so, that she completely goes against the central cour of the religion at large - which was a religion in which the highest god was a sun god! Ra!

I think in general Drolta goes very strongly back there to something that very much is at the heart of Castlevania's vampire mythology: The way how vampires remain in that world that is changing around them, because the humans in this world are dying, and new humans have new ideas. The world changes - but the vampires are frozen in time.

She holds onto her old religion, that was technically already "dead" when she was born for the first time, and that just dies out further as she cannot die, because she is now a vampire.

In her pursuit of the will of a deity, whose will she thinks she knows, she is ironically very close to Isaac - though other than him, she canot find it in herself to turn it around. Especially after going down that wrong path for hundreds of years.

The interesting part of this though is, that it very much reframes Erszebeth from someone who came in as a colonizer to take the blood - in comparison to someone upon whom it was trust.

The monk was confused but not deterred, because the next day the pilgrims secretly followed Wukong and Fruity. To their usual spot and behold Wukong had wondered back to the same giant gorilla women that saved them a year ago and the most shocking part.

Wukong showering you with affection and care while fruity flew around your head calling you mama.

So the monk fainted, sandy was pale as snow, and pigsy bit into a tree branch seething in jealousy😵😱🤬

(NR Wukong) Li and Su were at a standstill as they looked at a Tall giant gorilla that sat behind Wukong.

Wukong: Li, Su I want you to meet my wifey (Y/n L/N) or well Yn Ln Wukong now🥰

Yes Wukong didn't need to be worried about the kids because they love you as much as you love them. Meanwhile pigsy was scared sh*tless because you snared at him for flirting with you to much.

(Netflix Wukong) Lin and Dragon king were pulled to skull island by Wukong as a surprise was waiting for them.

Lin: Seriously where are we going??

Dragon king: Yeah what are you trying to show us??

So Wukong chirps into the forest and waits. Then suddenly, the ground shook as you made your way to your husband. Lin and Dragon King soon saw a giant female gorilla. Wukong got excited and grew into his kaiju form and hugged you tightly. The second Dragon king saw who it was he fainted.

Dragon king:(scared) Queen......Kong😰😨😱😵

Meanwhile Lin sat on your hand as she looked at you in Astonishment.

my favourite bit of the lore i have is that the continents weren't split because of the first stone war, but it was as PUNISHMENT for the humans who tried to kill all the elves in the mage wars,,, the dark island, being the home of the recuperating overlord/dark matter made the land infertile, forced the humans to hunt down magical creatures to revitalise the lands lol. the royal family (harumi's parents) founded the royal jade blades to kill the archdragon of the time, and the conflict between the jade blades and the existing dragon guard had most of the gang's parents DIE??? and ronin was there too, he got depression and became a bounty hunter instead

also the elves in this au are called "nagas" so like, humanoid snake/dragon people. with horns, i guess. there's 40ish pages in this word doc but about 30 of them are dedicated to explaining background lore and exploring magic and dragon types, instead of diving into whatever the plot was supposed to be LMAOOO

Now, about Zaterra:

Like much in my Umgadi Girls AU, there's going to be A LOT of made up lore, so brace yourself, lol!

For starters, Zaterra is a kingdom by the sea surrounded by thick geen foliage. Their homes were built among the forest in a way that integrates and doesn't disturb it. Zaterrans have a strong connection with nature!

The live relatively near the Kytinn kingdom and they have a TERRIBLE relationship with each other! You can guess why, lol!

Zaterrans originate from Earthrealm, but that was 66 million years ago and no one remembers it these days, lol! (They were dinosaurs Liu saved from extinction so Gera's wouldn't have to witness their deaths again :'])

Now here's a thing, this whole "Outworlders live longer than Earthrealmers" doesn't really speak to my AU, cause I want all the Umgadi Girls and their partners to be around the same age and age together, I want Li Mei and Grandmistress Amaya to be former teammates (the OG Umgadi Girls) and this thousand years old gap is getting in the way, so I'm getting rid of it!

So bottom line: All Outworlders have the same lifespan as Earthrealmers!

Unlike canon, my Zaterrans come in different shapes and sizes, all resembling a different type of lizard! There's one in particular I've been brainstorming:

Recently I've been thinking a lot about Syzoth's backstory and guess what? I HATE that they killed yet ANOTHER woman just to make our main guy sympathetic! 😑

But you know the drill around here! Fridged ladies get adopted and cared for! And this lizard lady won't be different!

Her name is now Tanith, that means "Serpent Lady" and is also the name of the Phoenician goddess of love, fertility, the moon, and the stars!

And she resembles a Frilled Dragon:

Now, one thing I'll be taking from canon, is that Zaterra is TERRIBLY prejudiced!

Zaterrans like Syzoth, who can shape-shift from reptilian to humanoid are considered freaks, while Zaterrans like Khameleon, who doesn't have a reptilian form, only a more humanoid one, aren't even considered Zaterrans and are called Saurians instead.

There are a few Zaterrans who are more open-minded and accepting of Shape-shifters and Saurians, but they are a minority. Among this minority, there's Tanith!

She befriended both Syzoth and Khameleon and she always tried to do everything in her power to support them! She became an outcast for hanging out with them, but she doesn't mind, she'd rather be outcast than prejudiced and close minded!

Syzoth and Khameleon appreciated it, but that doesn't stop them for constantly look for a way to be seeing as real Zaterrans.

One day, came an opportunity!

Zaterra was under attack by a mysterious Edenian using the long forbidden Blood Magik, and feeding on the cold blood of Zaterrans!

If Khameleon and Syzoth managed to find and kill this Blood Mage, they would not only be deemed as real Zaterrans but also true heroes!

Tanith was against this mission, as she was starting to suspect this is but a suicide mission to get rid of two naïve outcasts desperately wanting to belong.

But as Sy and Khamy heard none of it, she decided the best she could do was to tag along and look after her friends!

First one;

Reporter Clark Kent, investigating one of LexCorp’s shady company and ends up finding tiny fae Bruce, whose a grumpy little shit. Whom dislikes humans, since his parents didn't get pew pew by Jo chill more like 👟 by a human or some shit. He curses Clark making him small like himself (basically does similar stuff to crystal in the film.)

Bruce has just lost his parents and is obviously very not okay, instead of kryptons being human shape in the beginning, they are small itty bitty humanoid aliens. Who can fly. Clark was adopted by borrower Ma and Pa Kent.

He helps Bruce deal with his grief. (maybe Clark getting enough sunlight eventually grows to human size, and Bruce doesn't connect superman, the man described closest thing to a god, anyone ever can ever meet to the small borrower looking thing that helped him threw his grief. But just imagine Clark looking after his borrower sized parents. 🥺)

kryptonian size shifters are such a fun idea and also something i've been bouncing around for a while!! i really like that your idea also includes the Kents as borrowers.... now i'm imagining that after Bruce loses his parents and he falls into depression, he refuses to eat most of the time, which means his food is left out in his room, a perfect prize for a borrower. but Bruce is still keenly observant even in his young age and notices pieces of food going missing, and now that he thinks about it, he's noticed other things going missing as well - small trinkets, matchsticks, buttons. one night he manages to catch them out and little borrower Clark tries to defend his parents from the big evil human bean <3 and then Bruce and Clark become best friends <3 <3 until Bruce decides to go on his training trip, and when he comes back home, there's no trace of the little borrower family he grew up with. maybe he imagined all of it as a way to cope with his trauma. shortly after he meets Superman for the first time and it takes him month until he can finally place that vaguely recognizable smile and realizes it's him, the borrower from Bruce's house. bc as Clark grew older, his powers developed and he discovered he could change his size and use his powers for good while looking after his lil borrower parents 🥰

Infodump about my OPM OC (Star-Spinner) (WARNING: LONG READ)

NAME: Star HERO NAME: Star-Spinner (Ironic, I know) Age: 18-19

This is gonna be a long read,

Essentially seeing as to how wide and open OPM's worldbuilding is, 'Star' is essentially god's irreversible creation. Formed initially as a thought, but made into reality as a mistake. She was born out of an egg that landed within earth and scientists found and decided to observe.

Nothing in the database tracks back of anything similar to her DNA, because she didn't even have a species of a planet full of what she is. She was an offspring of a being that barely anyone knew was watching and present. Of course, she had a limiter despite being that said offspring of an ominous god.

She wasn't a humanoid, she was born as a bug-lizard type of creature from the egg until the more she grew up within the planet full of humanoids; her body adapted. She grew much like how a human girl would, the scientists gave her limited access to media, basic education. I had plans that Bang was the one who busted her out of that crummy laboratory (Explains the dojo outfit) because 1.) It ran underground, without the knowledge of the government 2.) illegal experimenting on creatures and even people, monsterization, force psychic abilities, you name it.

I got inspired by ONE's MP100, I like how Mob was written as a character so I made someone similar.

Star's essentially a psychic with very potent abilities. She has an internal struggle because she really cares about life that was around her, the only time she'd be hurting someone with her psychic abilities is when she fights monsters/villains. But Star easily sympathizes if ever she meets a human monster with a heart. Life nurtured her, she's found herself with people that care about her and saved her from the hell that was the laboratory. So of course, she nurtures it back, the result of her past being cruel influenced Star to a pacifistic mindset in hopes that no one has to go through the same type of struggle.

Now, for the dynamics

I NEVER had lore for her, and I only used her for OCxCanon stuff. But here I am, taking back my word 😁 The monster that wants to be a human, and the human that wants to be a monster. That was what Garou and Star was, despite being opposites they got along and related to each other after receiving the world's cruelty. Garou took a strange attachment for Star mainly for the reason that she looked like a monster at first. Unbeknownst to her, Star was a pillar for Garou and his goals to become the ultimate evil. And vice versa for Star that wanted to be a hero. They were practically two peas in a pod until Garou decided to just end their dynamic when he beat up every student in the dojo.

So there was that, they didn't see each other for a while. Star became a hero, of course not without Silverfang himself worrying for his adoptive kid getting hurt in the hero biz. But eventually it worked out when she proved herself to be capable out there.

Did I mention she persisted Caped Baldy Saitama to take her as a disciple? Yeah, important part of her development

During her time in Hero Association she actually witnessed Saitama's feats, several of it. Like Genos, she came off a bit stalker-ish. But she became an apprentice later on after Genos did, she thinks Saitama could be the key to being a better hero and save the innocent. ( I asked criticism from my friends and partner that read OPM as well, gave me the greenlight. )

I do believe that Saitama wouldn't take another apprentice, so in the story I made it that it's in the early arcs that she followed him around and was a little pushy

I think to add a comedic effect she'd offer to cook good meals or even do chores in return of being his apprentice so maybe that's the way Saitama agreed to it in the first place. ( Genos and Star were really just stray cats he took in LOL )

Oh yeah, and her journals she writes/doodles on. She and Genos are rivals that are complete opposites. (Mirror Maiden is my friend's OC)

Happy WBW and Happy Birthday!

Speaking of birthdays, how are they celebrated in your world? Are the same age milestones in place? If not what are the important milestones in your world?

Oh, shit, it is Wednesday! Like I knew it was the 14th but not which day of the week.

So since there are five humanoid species, let alone regional cultures, in the world at the time of Irae (six if you count the vampires/Lyceneans) there's quite a variety. And fun with laws where boundaries overlap, lol.

For example: Relarial at 25 ran away from home and joined the near-allied human nation's legion. For Elynwar they aren't considered adults until 50. But Myral accepted 16. So without an international gaff between the two, her folks couldn't 'unswear' her enlistment.

For Shamaltaz the big number is 100. You're fully developed and mature, usually married and have a kid (or families are arranging it.) So it's a big celebration among families. Relarial's adoptive Shamaltaz father Bekhel got her an extremely rare and expensive repeating crossbow to honor the milestone.

Mentioning my dwarves, 500 is another major for them because that's like one of us hitting 100. Bekhel made 537 (iirc) by the last time she saw him and I haven't written his death yet. It's seen as a major blessing from Shapla to have a living ancestor like that. Family gatherings in those clans can be BIG even with just immediate kin.

Dryhtnar mature about the same rate as humans but because of the general warlike and nomadic nature of most communities you're already pulling full adult responsibilities and probably an apprenticeship by your teens. It's less about years and more about cultural ceremonies of milestones: adulthood, first battle for warriors, completed apprenticeship for artisans, marriage, births, etc.

Siegarans are very similar to Dryhtnar but having both nomadic tribes and sedentary clans means there's a LOT of variety in when the milestones are reached. Both also ritually adopt members of other groups of their species or even other species into their groups, usually through the 'adulthood' ceremony and said person has all the rights and privileges of adulthood. While it's more common for said person to be older, it *has* produced a couple of young adults, lol.

“Realistic” Courting Rituals

This isn’t as smutty as my other works and was more of a straight forward, logical look at applying typical animal courting/mating rituals onto the TWST cast. A lot of people tend to write the beastmen and fae characters as animalistic, but rarely actually do the research into mating habits, so I thought I’d write up little headcanons or whatever.

Some of this comes across as rather silly ‘cause I stopped taking it quite as seriously midway into typing them up lol

Male lions will begin courtship by rubbing their head against the lioness’s head, spraying urine, and licking her genitals. He will also patiently follow around a lioness until she is ready to mate, where in which he’ll bite onto her neck to get a grip and mount her. Females are also very demandful and will become aggressive if a male isn’t mating with her enough. She’ll even attack him until he does.

Leona doesn’t have a pride full of females demanding attention from him, but he does have you which is a blessing for his lazy ass. Once he has an interest in you, he’ll start pursuing you by checking in on you, following you around to make sure that you’re safe (and to scare off any rivals), and will become more openly affectionate. Will definitely rub his head against you, maybe a bit too hard as he lets out a low rumble (not a purr, lions don’t purr, sorry). As time goes on he works up to licking and cuddles while napping.

Doesn’t spray urine ‘cause that’s unsanitary, but will give you articles of clothing and jewelry as a way to get his scent on you and ward off rivals. Is super patient and will wait until you give him the go ahead to the next step since it’s the lionesses that signal for mating to begin. I imagine the two of you were napping in his room with him nuzzling you and things just got heated. He won’t do anything unless you make it very clear you want him to dick you down.

Starts off with lapping at your genitals lazily until you’re ready to take him. Would probably prefer doggy style the first time since it allows for easier mounting, but won’t protest if you prefer a different position. Will latch onto your neck (specifically the back part) just on instinct to make sure you don’t wiggle around too much. There is a slim possibility he has barbs on his dick, but due to being humanoid (or maybe magic idk) they aren’t sharp and won’t completely wreck your insides. Definitely adds another unique layer of pleasure for you so congrats.

Males are very protective and will fend off rival males. Honestly one of the most “normal” in terms of wooing you. He becomes more physically affectionate and will want to spend more time with you. Once Malleus actually realizes that his feelings are more than just simply platonic, he’ll begin courting you the ‘ol fashion way, dragon style. He becomes protective over you, will make sure nobody else is courting you and will make it clear that he is the one pursuing you. Will glare and snarl at anyone who looks at you for too long or attempts to woo you. Will show off to you, either through his magic abilities, knowledge on certain subjects, or even strength. Shows dominance by outmatching everyone else at something, which isn’t that hard for the much older and experienced fae. Might bob his head at you, but will stop after you questioned him about it and he got embarrassed over the silly act.

Instead, will start to give you gifts of precious gemstones, gold jewelry, and other valuables, ones that have meaning to them. Like, he’ll usually give you emeralds or dragon-shaped jewelry, or will give you your personal favorite gemstone. Once things start to really hit off and he’s alone with you, will go for it and gently scratch your back, followed by a light lick. Honestly, Lilia or somebody better inform you the meaning of this beforehand because if you don’t reciprocate with a lick of your own, he’ll take it as a rejection and become disheartened. How you managed to catch Sebek’s eyes despite him only having eyes for Malleus is not exactly known, but you did. Congrats, you now have an overzealous manbaby who’s in denial of his feelings and is trying his best to avoid you, only to end up following you when he’s not with Malleus. He wouldn’t even realize it at first, but he acts protective around you and will keep any rivals away. The way he treats you directly doesn’t change much outside of him (trying) to be nicer and not insult you quite as much (as per Lilia’s advice). It isn’t until he starts to notice you reciprocate his efforts that he begins to secure an area for you two (most likely his bedroom or some unused room at his dorm).

When it comes times for the deed and he leads you to the room, he becomes much more affectionate and starts to rub his face and mouth along your head and neck area, breathing in your scent. He’s embarrassed by the action, but can’t help it as it comes almost natural to him. Once you start returning the gesture, he’ll take it as the sign to go ahead and he’ll start creating a deep rumbling sound while fucking you. I’m gonna be honest and say I almost forgot Che’nya and don’t have much to say on him. The most normal of the beastman, even more so compared to Jack. If he did court you, then it probably just includes him sneaking into NRC to flirt and mess with you. Will randomly appear and peck you on your face, neck, or mouth. I can also imagine him being unbothered by any of the others being interested in you, like, as long as he gets his own turn with you, he’s fine with it. When you two actually do it, he’ll mount you from the back and bite the back of your neck (much like Leona though gentler). I haven’t done a major tv watching update since last June. It almost feels overwhelming at this point but I really love writing down my thoughts. So I’ve decided to break it up into two posts. This post will be all of the shows I watched from June through December 2022.

The Uncanny Counter - A misfit teen is randomly chosen to join a group of demon hunters. A supernatural, found family, action adventure with heart. 

Age of Youth (Hello My Twenties!) - An off-campus house for female college students as they navigate school, work, love, friendship and potential murder. Interesting characters but the plot is as messy as some of their rooms.

Link: Eat, Kill, Love - A chef develops a mysterious psychic connection with a young woman who enters his life causing him to feel all her turbulent emotions as he searches for his long lost twin sister. Another show that mixes love and murder. I love the main couple and all the food porn as the chef preps to open a new restaurant. Less happy about the murder plotline.

Abyss - I hate watched this for Ahn Hyo Seop. I’m a completionist. lol This is my lowest-rated kdrama so far.

Hotel Del Luna - A woman with a tragic past is magically tied to hotel for ghost on their way to the afterlife until a young man is summoned to fulfill his father’s debt to help her run the hotel and possibly set her free. A gender-swapped Beauty and the Beast retelling with ghosts. 

I’m Not a Robot - A young chaebol with an allergy to humans is interested in financing a humanoid robot but, after a malfunction with the prototype, the scientist in charge recruits his ex-girlfriend to pose as the robot until it’s fixed. Enemies to lovers and star-crossed lovers as their fates align to heal their wounds and let their love blossom. I’ve watched it twice so far.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo - An autistic attorney fresh out of school joins her first law firm as she struggles to pursue her career and unexpectedly falls in love. Cute and heartwarming.

Café Minamdang - A former profiler becomes a shaman to investigate his friend’s death and runs into his friend’s sister who is searching for the truth herself. Even Seo In Guk couldn’t save this mess.

Alchemy of Souls - An assassin magically swaps bodies to stay alive and is secretly recruited to train a young mage and unlock his powers. This show is a Top 3 Kdrama for me. I LOVE IT. Fantasy, Romance, Humor, Action, Symbolism. A great ensemble cast but Lee Jae Wook really carries this drama. The ride or die main ship is everything.

While You Were Sleeping - Three people’s fates are tied together as they try to stop the bad premonitions they have from happening. It got a little cumbersome every time a new bad potential thing was revealed but I love the cast: Lee Jong Suk, Bae Suzy, Jung Hae In.

Never Have I Ever (S3) - This show is still firing on all cylinders and I’m here for the ride. Can’t wait for the finale season. 

Pinocchio - A boy who lost his family in a tragedy gets adopted into a family that has a girl his own age who can’t lie. They grow up to be reporters to uncover the truth of everyday events and their simmering feelings for each other. I really enjoyed the found family, mystery and romance here. 

Reacher - A lone wolf stumbles into a small town murder that hits closer to home that he could expect. A fun mystery and action jaunt through the countryside.

Dali and the Cocky Prince - A boisterous uncultured business man with alot of bravado crosses paths with a reserved art gallery director looking for investors. A sweet romance blossoms and the meaning of real family is explored. There was a lot of great comedy and romance but also some gut wrenching drama. 

Little Women - Three sisters get entangled in a web of conspiracy surrounding a secret organization. There were some interesting things here but I was mostly bored.

Flower of Evil - A man who may be a serial killer and his wife who’s investigating the decades old murders as the truth slowly unravels their relationship. Sadly, this wasn’t for me. There were a few things that were interesting but again mostly bored. Also, when we got to the end I had the epiphany that I’ve seen this story before and I have: Fringe Season 3 Episode 2 is basically the whole main plot in one episode. 

The Law Cafe - Two longtime but estranged friends end up using their law degrees to help everyday folks and go up against a big corporation together as they finally allow the sparks between them to ignite. A really cute romance with a few good cases but the overall show is a bit lacking. 

W: Two Worlds - Fiction and reality begin to blend as the daughter of a comic book author is sucked into her father’s popular comic and is thrust into the life of the main character, a handsome adventurous CEO. An interesting premise with excellent chemistry between the leads, but gets repetitive in the second half and stunts the growth of our leads. 

Love Between Fairy and Devil - My first cdrama and already one of my favorite shows ever! It’s literally a fairy tale with amazing bickering enemy to lovers leads, gorgeous costumes, sets and vfx, and a fantastic story with great foreshadowing, parallels and symbolism that pays off. I’m currently on my 5th rewatch. I regret nothing.

Star Trek: Picard (S1 & S2) - While I’m happy to see the og characters back on my screen and get to know a few new ones, I had major but differing issues for both of these seasons of Picard. 

Bad Prosecutor - While I really like Do Kyung Soo and Lee Se Hee, the story was rather flat. Even the action couldn’t save it.

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim - I now understand the hype for Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young. They are fantastic in their roles of chaebol and his assistant falling in love. I really enjoyed it but there was something I couldn’t put my finger on that held me back from loving it.

Kiss Goblin - I wanted to watch Bae In Hyuk in something while I was waiting for new episodes of Cheer Up. This cute web series was the perfect little show to get my fix.

Do You Like Brahms? - Park Eun Bin and Kim Min Jae star as a pair of introverted classical musicians with their own set of problems that find light in each other to grow in confidence as their relationship progresses. This is a very low-key show but it kept my attention throughout. 

Fanletter, Please - A cute romcom mini-series about a widower, his ailing daughter, and the actress the daughter adores, who comes to visit the hospital where she’s being treated. 

Cheer Up - If Bring It On was slightly more realistic and set in college but upped the spirit stick curse to a “someone will die” slasher movie prophecy. I loved the team spirit and the romance between the plucky yet reluctant new recruit and the practical dreamer Team Captain. There were a few things I wasn’t crazy about but I had a fun time. 

May I Help You - If Lee Junyoung is in it, I will eventually watch it. lol This is about a young woman who gets the power to talk with the dead in the funeral parlor she works in to help them fix something they didn’t accomplish in their life. She keeps crossing path with a young man who works for an errand service company. As they fall in love, past secrets and present heartbreaks unfold putting their relationship to the test. I had a really good time until the last few episodes but it did end well. 

Summer Strike - Another love story for introverts. A depressed city dweller decides to sell all her possessions that don’t fit in her backpack and travel the country. She lands in a small town, where she begins to heal as she’s slowly creates a new family for herself and falls in love with the local reclusive librarian who is a former math wiz, played by Im Siwan. This one was tough at times but very sweet too. Plus a great soundtrack. I had ‘Color’ by Sunnie on repeat.

Love is for Suckers - A variety show producer convinces her longtime friend to be a contestant on the dating show she’s producing right as they start to realize they are in deeply in love with each other. This had so much potential and started off strong but quickly became a mess when the dating show began filming. The romance between chef and the cartoonist kinda ended up stealing the show.

So I was thinking back to Dee and Splinters relationship. And if I’m correct rottmnt is the frist series to make the boys splinter’s biological sons.

So that got me thinking, shadow of evil happens before turtle degan nights. And by Turtle degan nights, Dee resents splinter so…

How would Dee feel about this. I mean, I imagine he would think splinter just found them and called them there sons (like 2003 splinter).

So imagine the joy he would fell when he finds out he’s the bio son of his idol Lou jitsu. Only to come crashing down when he learns that his idol is non other than the man he resents.

I mean, they kinda are? Rise is the first to acknowledge it in a family sense at least.

Basically any series/movie/iteration where the mutagen works by mixing DNAs, results in the boys being Yoshi's biological kids b/c the boys would have gotten the human DNA from him. That means both '87 and '12 would fall into that category while 03 doesn't since their mutagen turned them humanoid but didn't involve giving them human DNA. most iterations follow the second this line of thought, including Mirage, 90s movies, and IDW comics (i think bay does too but i try to ignore those movies. for my personal sanity.) (tho idw has a neat reincarnated thing going on as well so they were Yoshi's bio sons, but thats a completely different thing all-together.) ANYWAYS! so yeah, not the first iteration to have the boys get DNA from Yoshi, but really the only one to stress that this is the case.

So id imagine Dee would at least know his mutation was different then the 03 boys (Donnie would have figured that out via dna and would certainly have shared it with the other, science-loving turtle residing in the lair.) But yeah, he'd probably assume Rise Splints just adopted them like 03 splinter did his uncles and pops. Finding out otherwise would be...pretty shocking. and probably make him resent Splinter a little more? I'd imagine finding out the man that's been all but ignoring you and your brothers for the last few months has not only been your bio-dad but (at least your brothers') childhood hero this whole time, would do that. Adding the fact that he kept this from them even when it was apparent they may need to know? yeah, Dee's gonna be seething, but ends up trying to burry it until Turtle-dega nights where he can't anymore.

He meets a lost avian hybrid named Phil and decides to help him out of the cave system. When they get out Wilbur is sad that Phil has to go. Phil then decides its time to adopt another child and brings Wil with him home to a surprised Techno and Tommy.

He doesn’t remember his younger days; he honestly couldn’t be sure who he was or how he even came into existence. One thing for sure was sounds, the tapping of a spider’s legs, creepers occasional hissing, skeleton’s bones rattling and a zombie’s growls.

It was always so dark, he’d seen the light of lava, sometimes even the light of day but the sky was always so high, so out of reach. And he couldn’t quite fit into the cave systems to find a way, so he was stuck.

Phil flew high above the clouds in laughter, it’d been a while since he’d gone out on an adventure. Well, if you counted a much-needed mining trip of coal, iron, and such. But it was nice to be out of the house for once, especially with the kids out of the way.

Not in a bad sense though, he loved his kids but sometimes things were so busy he couldn’t keep track of things. Raising a toddler and a somewhat crazy child is well chaotic.

His two kids, Techno and Tommy. Techno had been adopted by Phil a bit early on, when Phil first met his now-wife, Kristin. He found Techno on the streets of a village, trying to fend off bandits. Phil’s fatherly instincts kicked in, a thing he’d always had and couldn’t help but take the boy in. Much to his reluctance.

Techno grew up with Phil and is now a very healthy and happy 11-year-old, and then there’s Tommy. The most recent member of the family, his little bundle of joy of about 3 years old, Techno found it odd being an older brother, he still does but he copes.

The feeling of his feathers swaying, his hair blowing, him having to attempt to keep his hat on every second, he missed this feeling. He was glad he just managed to find a babysitter since their mother was currently out on ‘business terms’.

The vibrant blue sky, below the loving shades of green passing with every flap of his wings. He wondered if his wife was watching over him, with her being a god and all.

He was happy how life was currently going as of late, he only hoped that fate had a good future ahead of him.

He shook himself out of his thoughts as he finally arrived at the destination. He had been well prepared for this trip; it was a mine that he’d been wanting to adventure for ever so long. He could tell there was something about it, something special.

And judging by the vibrant minerals just shining from the sunlight of the entrance, something told him there was more than just iron and coal in this cave, perhaps something more valuable, diamonds.

He wasn’t sure how long it’d been, but it had been a long time, he had quite a bit of iron, coal. But not only that gold and emeralds, a valuable currency. He wouldn’t have to worry about mining with the number of minerals he now had. Not only that but diamonds could be used to create powerful weapons.

He knew Techno would be happy, he’d always loved shiny things. Probably due to his Piglin features. And he could make Kristin some beautiful jewellery. It made him happy to say that his family was going to be good for a good while.

He picked up different noises, it was odd to hear such things. He could hear strange padding noises, perhaps some creature moving? Not only that but he heard the breaking of stone, which was a rare sound in his caves.

It was somewhat crazy to think something else could be coming closer to him, to hurt him. He knew he was strong not he didn’t even know If he was as strong as the outside monsters.

He wasn’t sure how he came to be in this world, he was always so alone. But sometimes the vines would speak to him, telling him of things like a place called the surface, which was colourful and bright.

The breaking of stone could be heard again, it only got louder and louder every minute. Whatever was making those sounds had found him and was coming for him. His antennae twitched anxiously; he was scared he didn’t want to die.

His claws bared as he readied his sharp teeth, he scanned for wherever the sound was coming from and waited to attack.

…

He panted as he broke at the stone, it’d been a while since he’d done so much mining, he was much out of shape. He had no idea where he currently was, he was long lost in this cave with no way of finding his way back. Despite the torches, he had no lead to where he came.

He was now trying to mine into the walls, hoping to find another branch of the cave that would finally lead him to a way to the surface. After the struggles of breaking through the wall for however long, he finally found another branch of the cave.

Big mistake as the first step he took into this cave, there was a loud crashing sound. Something had tried to hurt him, and he barely dodged it, the ceiling of the cave barely supported the impact, rubble falling from the ceiling.

He readied his sword for battle as he ran to behind a rock for cover. Something that caused that impact was definitely big, like strangely big. Not only that but the cave was one of the darkest caves he’d ever seen, the only light being from his torch.

He had no idea of where if he was honest, he couldn’t even tell if he was hiding properly. Anything could creep upon him at the current moment, it was oddly quiet, the only sound being his heartbeat.

He heard a strange growl behind him, it scared him with how deep and shallow it sounded, definitely a monster. Hesitantly he turned to the right, and right there was the monster staring right at him. But the monster flinched back when Phil turned around, the bright light in the monster’s face.

It seemed to hurt its eyes as he held his eyes and stumbled back in pain, from what he saw he saw about four eyes, antennae, and dark greenish-blue skin, with some light green bioluminescence that reacted to light. It appeared to be a Warden, a creature Phil had read about.

A creature of great mystery, one that mostly relied on sound, one that could communicate with plants. It was an odd creature, but the thing is about this Warden. It had a set of hair, not only that but it looked a lot more humanoid than what he’d seen drawn of the creatures.

It looked rather young too… No! No fatherly instincts! Monster?...

…

He winced in pain and stepped back from the strange being, he hadn’t seen light in quite some time. This thing was nothing like he’d ever before. He had never seen such a strange light. It hurt. This thing was strong if the creature had that then it could definitely kill him.

It came prepared.

“Hello?” it spoke. His eyes dilated as he scanned for the light, he saw it move around. He could see the creature’s confused features. It seemed almost scared itself, not only that but concerned. Something he wasn’t quite familiar with.

He was surprised by the fact that he could understand the creature, it was an oddly familiar language. “Hello?”, he replied with hesitance. He was scared that the monster’s features would change, and the creature would attack him.

“Oh! You talk? Good, because I think there’s been a bit of a misunderstanding!”. The creature made a strange sound, but seemed relieved and happy? Laughter?

“Sorry about the light, I didn’t realise it’d hurt you, my name is Phil. How about you?”

“What’s a name?”

“Oh? You don’t have one, well I guess a way to describe it would be a sort of title, something people can call you to identify you from others!”.

“… I don’t have one?”.

…

The creature- Phil had come closer, more friendly than before. No weapons, a smile. The once bright light is now dim, more adjustable.

“Well, if you don’t have a name. How about we give you one?”.

“Okay…”.

“Hmm… You look like a.. A Wilbur!”.

“Wilbur?”.

“That’s your name! Wilbur! Do you like it”.

“It sounds nice. I like it!”.

A name? It sounded nice, it made him feel unique, different from others…

…

“Well, Wilbur. Do you think you could help me?”, “How?”. “Well, you see I’m kind of stuck here. I don’t know my way out.”.

“Where do you want to go?”, “The surface.”.

…

“The surface?”, “Yeah! I need to get home!”. “Home?”, “Yeah, it’s where I live with my family!”, “Family?”, “A group of people who are very important to me, I have to get home or my sons, I don’t know what will happen.”, “Okay. I’ll help.”.

Wilbur lent his hand, confused Phil just stared at it. But Wilbur just ended up scooping up Phil and standing up, wandering through the caves.

“So, you live in these caves?”, “Mhm”, “Aren’t you lonely?”, “… Yeah…”.

“How old are you?”, “I don’t know, they say I’m a youngling…”.

…

Phil’s fatherly instincts kicked in, a kid on his own in a fucking cave system? No fucking way. He had no choice; his mind was already made up. This kid was now his, he now wanted nothing more than to smother this boy in the love he never had, care for Wilbur. Like how he met Techno.

The two ventured the caves for a while, surprisingly no mobs. The two at this point had spoken for a while and gotten to know each other a small bit, Wilbur seemed fairly interested in his family too! So, it made him happy to think that he’d achieved a new son!

But he spoke a little too soon, a loud bang frightened Wilbur. Wilbur jumped back and dropped Phil from a height. Phil landed with an oof and looked back at Wilbur who was now crouching in fear, immediately he ran over to comfort the boy despite his aching leg.

“Hey, hey. Wil, it’s alright, it was just a creeper.”. He ran his hand over the boy’s own hand, “I-I, it was loud...”, “I know, I know. But it’s okay! It’s not gonna hurt you anymore mate! I’ll protect you!”.

…

He released his hold on his eyes and looked down to Phil… Protect? As in guard him? Phil’s eyes were enough to reassure him, it brought him comfort despite the small time of knowing him, he’d never known such a kind person before.

He picked up on a sound, the tugging of string. Phil didn’t seem to hear it as he was concentrating on him. He looked back to see a skeleton aiming an arrow at Phil. Scared, he quickly brought Phil to his chest as the skeleton shot the arrow.

Phil screamed but immediately calmed as he heard the arrow hit the ground, realizing that Wilbur had only been protecting him. He smiled and looked back furiously at the skeleton.

He reached for his sword and despite his aching leg, wiggled out of Wilbur’s hold and sliced the skeleton in half, its remains turning to dust and bones. He looked back to Wilbur, “You okay, mate?”.

“I’m fine! How about you? You’re walking differently.”. “Ah, I’m fine mate. My leg just hurts a bit!”. “Hurts? As in pain?”, “Yeah? Wh-“.

Phil was cut off when Wilbur brought him back to his chest, standing up and continuing their adventure to the surface. Being sure Phil was secure in his hold, not wanting to bring any more pain to this man.

A bright light could be seen in the distance, “Hey Wil! I think that’s the surface!”. Wilbur looked over in the direction of the light, he winced slightly but his eyes adjusted as he made way to the light.

Once they were outside, Phil took a good breath of fresh air. Wilbur copied, confused as to why and surprised with how fresh the air felt in his lungs. It was refreshing.

“Wil! We’re outside! Thank you so much!”

“It’s nothing but…”

“Hmm, what’s wrong?”.

“Where do I go now?...”

“We can go to my place if you want, you can meet Tommy and stuff.”.

“Really?”.

“Of course, Wilbur!”.

Phil then flew upwards and directed Wilbur to follow him, along the way Wilbur would get distracted by the views and greenery. Phil was more than happy to wait for the boy.

Now that he thought about it, he had a clearer view of Wilbur, who was definitely a lot more humanoid than he first thought, perhaps he was a hybrid of sorts? Only time could tell.

But at the break of dawn, Phil arrived home as was greeted by a worried Technoblade running towards him, a Tommy trying to follow behind him, wanting his father’s hold.

“Techno! Tommy! Are you guys okay?”. “Dad! Where have you been?”.

The worried words of his son and the rambling of his toddler were enough to make him scoop them up in his arms and cover them in kisses. Which seemed to cheer the two up.

But all hell broke loose when Techno stared up at Wilbur, he stood in front of Phil to protect him. “Who are you?!”, “Techno! Calm down! This is Wilbur! Your brother!”, “Brother?! Really Dad?!”, “Yes really”.

…

Despite the reluctance, Techno grew used to his new sibling, so did Tommy who seemed to really like Wilbur. Not only that but Kristin was more than happy to have Wilbur adopted into the family, and that’s how Wilbur joined the family.

“Bitch!”

“Oi, don’t use those words, Tommy!”.

Tommy was now about 5 years old, a very clingy 5-year-old. One who never left Wilbur alone, not that Wilbur hated it, he loved his younger brother a lot. It was just sometimes he could be quite annoying.

“Wilby! I want cuddles!”. His antennae twitched as he closed his four eyes, pinching his nose to be as dramatic as possible and let out a long sigh, “Finee!” he dragged out. Tommy’s excitement as he ran to grab blankets was more than enough to make him smile.

Wilbur sat down against the wall as Tommy dragged pillows and blankets against the floor, the things being double his height and dragging behind him. Then made his way to throw the pillows at him and attempting to climb onto his lap.

He failed multiple times, “Wil! Help me!”. Finally with the help of Wilbur’s claw he adjusted and cuddled within Wilbur’s hold.

“Tell me that story again!”, “The one about the civilization and the brothers?”, “Yeah!”.

Wilbur laughed, “Okay!”.

Within 5 minutes of the story, Tommy had fallen asleep, so Wilbur changed to a simple lullaby whilst playing with his baby brothers’ hair. Something precious, something he’d always protect.

“Got room for one more?”, Techno stood there in his crowned PJs, who seemed barely functioning, his blanket and pillow dragging behind him. Usually, he’d never do such a day but today seemed to be an exception. “Of course Tech!”.

The three then fell asleep together.

“Awwhh! Look at them Phil!”, Kristin whispered as she peered into the room of her son’s bedroom. Phil giggled, “I know! I’m glad I have such a good family”.

Within the palm of her hand, he laid. Thankfully for them, Kristin was a giant, so the house was already pretty adaptable for Wilbur. She placed a kiss on his forehead. “Love you, hun!”, “Love you too!”.

Bloody Roar concept art

Hi guys, a while back I asked a question about whether there were still any Bloody Roar fans. Now that I’ve logged into my Tumblr again, I’ve seen some ppl chime in to say hello! Thus, to keep this fandom (however small it is lol) active, imma post some cool stuff concerning BR; concept art for the first game. *Note that all this info is from Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa’s Twitters with some of my opinions and observations sprinkled in 

So, back when the first game was being developed, the character designers had to rack their brains to come up with good zoanthrope designs. Part of the team were Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa and they sketched all kinds of beasts at an incredible rate (like, it was a lot). Mr. Tatsuta himself drew about 300 of them and he said there were a bull and kangaroo design he personally liked but those got rejected (we’ll get there). 

The image above is an unused koala girl whom he and the other artists found funny and couldn’t stop laughing at how terrible and dumb it looked. Tbh, they were kinda right lol. Given how slow koalas are, the image of a humanoid marsupial with boobs running towards you is fucking hilarious.

Anteater dude. Probably would have played like a mix between Bakuryu and Busuzima. Mr. Yamakawa thought it looked similar to the former. Speaking of which.......

Early design for Bakuryu. Seems like the mole was going to have ears and a tail. Actually, I’ve always wondered why the Bakuryus didn’t have tails when moles irl do have visible ones. Unless there’s a breed of mole that doesn’t, in which case I’m not aware of. The concept of a 2nd Bakuryu was also apparently already thought up at this time (idk if in the form of a clone, brother, student, etc.) even when Mr. Tatsuta wasn’t involved much in the later games so it’s nice to know that Kakeru/Kenji was not merely an afterthought haha.

Here are 2 very early concept art of Alice. In the 1st one, she looks more mature and edgy. The design/aesthetic may have been recycled into Nagi’s in BR4 (especially the tube top). In the 2nd one, she doesn’t have pigtails since her hair is short and instead wears a giant bow to emulate bunny ears. Very shoujo-esque.

This is the rejected bull design Mr. Tatsuta mentioned and next to it an early bat zoanthrope. The artist had already thought up some ideas on how they were going to fit in the game. The bat was of course used as the basis for Jenny’s beast form later on. There is also the bull zoanthrope’s human form. The character would be Native American it looks like. Bull guy here had been shown before in concept art included in the BR1 game.

A black panther woman (literally lol). It looks like she could have been a black character (probably the first and only in the series unless you count Greg). Also, if this character was approved, we’d have gotten even more cats in the roster.

Squirrel girl, elephant man, and goat lady. The first one looks kinda like a monkey girl (which would be super cute), elephant obvs became Ganesha later, and the goat lady looks more like a demon/satyr to me. This would actually be cool and does fit in with the mythos as shown in the games and the “BR: The Fang” manga i.e., fantasy creatures such as mermaids, dragons, and phoenixes. 

Kangaroo zoanthrope. Mr. Tatsuta imagined him using the Muay Thai fighting style. Eventually rejected as Roger, another kangaroo fgc, had already appeared in Tekken 1-2 years before.

Something veeeeeryyyy interesting. This is a pretty detailed design for a character that was going to be Alice’s brother. This guy was also included in the concept art feature in the BR1 game but it was not mentioned who he was supposed to be. I actually thought he was a proto-Yugo or something. Well, if he made it this far into the character creation process (past the rough sketches and onto colored concept art), then there must have been a conceptual storyline for him somewhere along the line. Judging from his appearance and fashion sense (heh), he’s definitely related to Alice.

Additionally, the red eyes and rabbit-like face probably means that he too was going to have a rabbit beast form; maybe even a hare. I guess he was scrapped since having 2 bunnies would’ve been redundant. I wonder how Alice’s backstory might’ve been had her brother existed. Would she have been adopted into the Nonomura family? Was there going to be some plot where she would be looking for him, thinking she lost her family? Who knows. One thing I do know however, is that he’d butt heads with Yugo since he wouldn’t be keen on his sister dating a *gasp* predator.

Now, I think it would be awesome if this character is introduced in a potential reboot/new installment! They could say Alice didn’t know he was alive, or that he stayed away to keep her safe, seeing as she was already happy with the Nonomuras and relegated himself to watching over her in the shadows. Seriouslyyyy the potential is enormous and I’m hoping something will be done with scrapped concepts like this. (Plus, this guy reminded me of the genderbend Alice fanart I did so long ago. I guess male Alice wasn’t too far off after all).

And lastly, Alice in her sailor fuku (human and beast form). Mr. Tatsuta said this was how he imagined she looked like in that costume.

That’s all for now! It���s really interesting to see all this concept art and trace back where some designs carried over into later installments of the series. After going through all of them, I yearn even more for another Bloody Roar game! A reboot would be great and some of the rejected designs could be used too. Or continuation with new characters and a bigger roster; that would be even more amazing. Anyway, I thought I should share these sketches by some of the original Raizing/Eighting staff and keep the interest in BR going. We may get something; in regards to Konami trademarking the brand name last year, we just have to wait and see.

Ewwww people still think it makes them special to hate on Manwë? Their loss :)

Anyway, I am always thrilled to provide headcanons on the ultimate power couple. Also I have some more headcanons on our beautiful bird king here so if you want to look at those

Both of them are levelheaded, open-minded people, so while they can have serious disagreements, it hardly ever escalates to the point of raised voices being involved. Most of the time, when they don’t agree on something, they talk about it and give each other the space necessary to express their opinions. When there are strong emotions involved, they take some time to cool down before approaching the issue. Basically, communication is A+, so nothing ever threatens their relationship.

Since I headcanon that the Ainur identify each other more through “feeling” each other’s ëala rather than through the five physical senses like the incarnates, their sense of identity isn’t at all changed by appearance. (For example, Varda could decide to take the form of, say, a glowing orb and all the other Ainur would still recognize and think of her as Varda as easily as if she was in a more humanoid form.) Which means Manwë and Varda have fun switching up their appearances, into all sorts of wacky physical forms, and showing each other - to them it’s just the same as making clothes and getting each other’s opinion on the designs.

Bantering and bickering, all in good humor. So many inside jokes between them. They were close friends long before they were married, and their general dynamic hasn’t changed.

Before Melkor’s fall, the three of them were a happy trio. Varda also has no personal hatred of Melkor, but she is disappointed in and frustrated with him the way a sister would be disappointed in and frustrated with a (very badly) misbehaving brother. Both Manwë and Varda mourn Melkor’s fall, although Manwë takes it harder. When he’s feeling dejected, distressed, angry, etc., over what his brother’s doing, Varda is his chief comfort.

Before Eä, when the two of them were younger and still figuring out what they could do with their powers, they would get together and show each other the new gimmicks that they came up with. Varda was probably the first person that Manwë showed a “tornado” to, and Manwë was the first person that heard about Varda’s idea to make these spheres of light...

They know how to relax! Before they descended into Eä, their down-time was a lot more chaotic than in later ages. Since they didn’t need to worry about destroying anything in the Timeless Halls, and there was infinite space for them to go off and do their thing, they could basically try out anything they wanted with their powers to blow off stress and worry. After making their home in Eä, they’ve adopted more “human” ways to de-stress that won’t cause the elves to run away in fear. Wine is nice, though neither of them can ever really get drunk due to the flexible nature of their physical forms. Reading together, just basking in the silence and in each other’s presence, is a favorite too.

I know Tolkien said the Ainur don’t have sex, but I see nothing and hear nothing. (In seriousness, though, my Ainur can and do have sex, but they can also choose not to. I have thoughts™ about the Ainur and their interactions with the more physical side of things, which you can see here.) Manwë and Varda, too, enjoy it, although neither of them have a super high/insatiable drive. Don’t want to get too spicy on a fairly wholesome list of headcanons lol, so I’ll just say, the people who think the Ainur are all “conservative”, and that Manwë and Varda probably have a super dull sex life, are dead wrong :) 

Both of them are naturally down-to-earth and approachable people, and they like interacting with the elves in Aman. They’d much rather be close and friendly to others than get the whole “hail the king and queen of Arda” shtick, so over the years they’ve actively encouraged the elves to be less formal with them. It paid off - often you can see them separately or together, walking among incarnates, visiting shops, meeting and talking to people, etc. They’re good friends with Ingwë especially, and very close to his family.

Manwë and Varda know each other extremely well, to the point that it’s hard for either of them to hide things from each other. More times than not they can probably guess exactly what the other is thinking, and even if it’s not exact they can easily gauge each other’s mood from just a glance. For many people it might be unnerving to have someone else know you so well, but Manwë and Varda both take great solace in the fact that they’re so intimately familiar with each other. They both know they have each other’s back always.

They’re on the same wavelength when it comes to comforting each other. Their favorite method, of comforting and being comforted, is the same - they just let their ëala meld together, and stay like that in silence for as long as they need.

I need to know more about your mlp wordgirl phi ness and ferb au

OK this has been in my inbox for awhile but I think I’m ready to answer it now🤣

SO. In 2012, my primary fandoms were WordGirl, Phineas and Ferb, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. So, I did what any 12 yr old with a lot of free time and a passion for writing convoluted stories would do: I combined them into a crossover fic!!! I never actually finished it (it kinda spiraled out of control😅), but I had a a ton of fun with it! As of now it’s over 20,000k words long. Each chapter was written in first-person/present-tense from the perspective of one of three characters: Isabella, Becky, or Twilight Sparkle. (And yes. It had a Phinabella subplot.)

I’ll provide a bit of context and explain the story beneath the cut, for anyone who’s interested😅

Of these three shows, I’m assuming yall are least likely to know about WordGirl, SO! The main character, Becky, is a 10 1/2 yr old humanoid super-powered alien who crash landed on earth as a baby, was adopted by an earthen family, and became a superhero: WordGirl. As her alias implies, she’s very passionate about vocabulary (the show aired on PBS Kids and that was the educational aspect of it).

ALRIGHT SO. In the story! Becky’s family goes to visit the Flynn-Fletcher family (because their moms were friends in college or something😂). While there, Phineas and Ferb offer to take Becky to her home planet (I don’t think she revealed her identity to them, maybe she just expressed interest in visiting there). So she, her little brother TJ, Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and Isabella (OBVI) get in a spaceship….but they end up crash-landing on another planet which just so happens to be EQUESTRIA, where My Little Pony takes place. Each character is paired off with one of the six mane (ahaha…..🥲) MLP characters, which ultimately would’ve led to each human character also being paired with an Element of Harmony for the climactic final battle I never got around to writing. (Twilight Sparkle is paired with Becky since they’re both “book smart” and have powers…and because they’re my favorites of course I paired them, lol!). Twilight Sparkle also finds a prophecy about “bipedal beings” (aka our Phineas and Ferb/WordGirl characters) and a catastrophe, so when they arrive, it freaks her out a little. The ponies and humans all go to Canterlot, which is like the royal capital of Equestria, to visit the princess, and they bond with one another along the way.

NOW. In My Little Pony, there’s these creatures called “changelings.” Changelings can shapeshift, and they gain power by feeding off of love. Like, in my favorite My Little Pony episode, a changeling impersonates another character’s fiancé and uses their love to grow stronger. In my story, one of the mane 6 ponies is replaced by a changeling pretty early on. That changeling’s job is to discover a strong source of love in the group so they can impersonate the recipient of said love and yall know my brand I think you can see where I’m going with this🤣.

So! Phineas gets replaced with a changeling and said changeling briefly tries to woo Isabella, except Isabella can tell he’s not acting like himself, tells him off for it, and subsequently gets captured and replaced herself (since if she doesn’t love Phineas anymore, she’s of no use to the changelings). Becky eventually finds out about the plan using her superpowers but she’s discovered and ALSO replaced with a changeling. And Twilight I think is just trying to figure out more about the prophecy. The story would have ended with an epic battle against the changelings, the humans and ponies using the elements of harmony to fight, AND a Phinabella confession (because of course it would have). The story also features a parody of a My Little Pony song sung by Isabella about her feelings for Phineas AND an appearance by my very own self-insert pony OC😌.

So yeah! That’s the PnF/WordGirl/MLP crossover fic I wrote when i was 12 in a nutshell!! It’s very over-dramatic and cheesy, but I had a lot of fun writing it. I doubt I’ll ever finish it, but reminiscing makes me happy😊. (Maybe I should draw art of sometime or rewrite a scene or two, just for fun!!)

Loves PDA but if you're not comfortable with it, he won't do anything other than hold your hand.

Is less humanoid due to his rage which is also why he has fire magic

He still has massive issues from the whole deal with Vanessa

Will try to protect strangers from Vanessa as well solely, so she can't hurt anyone ever again. Doesn't always succeed.

When he was alive, his hair was actually black before Vanessa dyed it. The brown seen in the storybook was when it was starting to fade.

His name used to be Elias

Does in fact have a human form but he rarely uses it as it kinda brings back bad memories

is a separate person from Moonjumper and is very protective of him

Romantic:

He may threaten you at first, but that's only because he's scared of getting hurt again.

If you show that you won't hurt him, snatcher will be so loving but still nervous

Will eventually tell you his real name but still kinda prefers snatcher to Elias

The first time you reached for him, he flinched before you gently ran your fingers through his fluff which made him melt. He hasn't had positive touch in well over 500 years so getting some affection makes him feel loved

Give this man some bacon! He misses it so much!
