Common occupational hazards in aviation; the not so new flight deck stressors would encompass turbulence, delayed pushbacks, and that one passanger having an issue with someone reclining their seat (this is so very common, believe me). Let’s not forget another one who thinks the seatbelt sign doesn’t apply to them while on active runway (because they are just itching for a snack they left inside their carry-on luggage in the overhead bin. Opens bin, then bag falls off on them and everyone around. SMH)

Back to business. Pilots and cabin crew flying over the Middle East lately, especially in and out of Qatar, well, there’s a new, less subtle source of anxiety: missile attacks. Who doesn’t know the news by now?

Yes, flying into Doha these days might involve dodging airspace closures, U.S. airbase targets, and the occasional Iranian and Israeli news. Glamorous, right?

While passengers worry about delayed in-flight meals and Wi-Fi speeds being too slow or disconnecting , the crew up front and in the aisles are dealing with something much much heavier: the psychological toll of flying through a region where geopolitics are very unpredictable, stormy, and always just over the horizon.

What Happened in Qatar Exactly, you ask?

In resent years, we’ve witnessed sensitive airspaces and in response, airlines have shut down their airspaces. Flights being rerouted faster than a teenager dodging chores have become commonplace, and airline dispatchers around the world had one collective panic attack.

Now just imagine this. Inflight, flight crew are prepping beverage carts while air defence systems light up the radar. Boom-Chaka-Boom! Just another day in the skies.

Cabin Pressure: Flying with a Side of Adrenaline

Yes, crew (deck crew and cabin crew) are trained to handle demarcates, but war is not an average Emmergency! It’s one thing to worry about fuel efficiency. It’s another to fly over a region where missiles are a real-time hazard.

There is a huge difference between trusting an aircraft, the team, and trusting geopolitics.

Constant anticipatory anxiety.

Hypervigilance, even on layovers.

Better Global Oversight, meaning ICAO, IATA and other relevant bodies must update protocols for mental wellness involving high-risk routes.

Bottom line, pilots and cabin crew are indeed professionals for they train, adapt, and make sure to get the job done. But, they are people too and not robots. People who fly into the world’s most dangerous zones with nothing more than a safety manual and nerves of steel.

We owe them patience, understanding, protection and genuine support as they navigate war zones with grit and grace.

Fly safe. Check on your crew friends, and just maybe skip the missile jokes during boarding.

   He looks the same as he had that fateful day, a storm raging around him and risking sending the ship down into the abyss. Hair whipping in the wind as the sky roars its deadly challenge echoed by the beasts they all sought to bring down those centuries ago. 

   It looks just as human as they- that is to say not at all, not anymore. A body twisted, sand and lightning melding into a molten sea ever-expanding. Its eyes as gold as the treasure it guards, brilliant blues and greens dancing across bodies in sigils unknown. 

   It looks exactly as it did that time ago, smile dancing on its lips as the sky opened up in torrents, like blood gushing from a wound. “You’re free to go,” it says, in words they understand and words they don’t. “You don’t have to stay here any longer.” 

   “Where will we go?” They ask, so very tired of this eternal battle, of being trapped in crashing waves and storms of water and sand. Being tossed one way and the other, never able to go home, for home was gone long ago. 

   It looks up, their own gaze following, the ship crashing through the dredges of a storm they had thought eternal. And for the first time in eternities, they see them. The stars. Dancing and dripping from a serpentine form that cradles the Sun and Moon, smiling down to the beast and them alike.

No, seriously, what the hell is going on here? The more information we get about this, the more confusing it becomes.

Nightcrawler encourages Remy to marry Rogue; the thought of it makes Remy smile. Then Rogue wears her famous first-date-with-Remy dress to the gala where she dances with Magneto instead and kisses him right in front of Remy. So Remy gets his heart ripped out and then dies believing that the woman he loves had chosen the other guy.

I, like many people, thought there had to be some kind of timeline reset coming to change these events because that's the only way they'd make any sense. I mean, why on Earth would you even think of doing it this way if the whole point wasn't to undo it? But Beau DeMayo has since dismissed the possibility of resolving this with time travel, so... WTF?!

Why have Rogue wear that dress? She could have worn literally anything, any other outfit, but it had to be that particular dress, a dress that has very special significance to anyone who loves the Romy relationship... and it's used as a way to completely gut Remy and the fans alike right before he gets killed?

WHY?!

And now that we know there's no time travel fix, this means that, even if Remy is resurrected as Deathbit, Rogue won't be going back in time, won't save Remy that way, won't get to rectify that moment by dancing with Remy instead...

...SO HOW DO YOU FUCKING FIX THIS THEN? WHY DO IT THIS WAY? WHAT WAS EVEN THE POINT OF THIS EXCEPT TO TAKE SOMETHING CHERISHED AND BELOVED BY THE FANS AND NIHILISTICALLY PISS ALL OVER IT JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ABJECT CRUELTY?

Yeah, there's two episodes left and a lot can still happen, but holy shit, I officially have no clue how they can pay all this off in a way that's going to be in any way satisfying or even make sense at this point...

Found a fic with this in the summary: "WARNING: AI Generated, this started as a way to satisfy my own prompt without spending months. W/o AI, this would have been abandoned."

And... I could not fucking imagine using AI to finish a WIP for me. No AI could write the fuckass way I do, focus on the weird, innocuous shit I do, over-describe meaningless details I find important like I do. There's not a reality where I would put a WIP into an AI and find the end result anything less than more disappointing than something written by my own brain. Even at my worst, an AI could not meaningfully fulfill my expectations for a WIP on the verge of abandonment to save it from being left to gather dust in my documents folder.

There's a story I want to tell, in the way only I can tell it, focusing on and expounding upon the details I have decided are relevant and necessary. An AI could not and cannot take the core conceit of what I want out of a work and make it the exact way that I want it with my thoughts and needs and ideas transposed into something meaningful and conveying the emotions I want the reader to know and to feel. I don't want a machine to finish my works in a way I know it can't just like I don't want to read something made by a machine that cannot replicate the way a person makes art: with their own flourishes, mistakes, and voice.

If the work in progress is going to be abandoned unless you use AI to fill the parts you couldn't, then abandoned it should be.

Callum has asked Rayla twice now to kill him if he's ever corrupted again. This time as like a barter. And this time, despite looking devastated, she finally (begrudgingly) agrees. And later this season, Callum is cleared of his dark magic corruption, but it also warned that if he does dark magic again it'll overwhelm him.

Man my dreams have already been haunted enough by death foreshadowing I can't take much more of it for these two.
