-More on him being a sweetheart, it's almost sickening how much he cares about you. Opens the doors for you, gets upset if you open them yourself. He will push you back out the door to open them for you himself.

-Even though his shoulder kills him, he will still pick you up and carry you around. On the battlefield, if you happen to be hurt, he will carry you to the nearest medic...but he will still refuse to let you go. Even his has to hold you while swinging his hammer, he will do it.

-He loves to sleep with you on top of him. It's just relaxing for him, like sleeping with a weighted blanket. He'll hold you close to his chest and sleep like a baby.

-He does fear he'll roll over and crush you...but that hasn't happened yet.

-You will have to show him how to work a cell phone. It's an excuse to have you close. But he genuinely needs your help

-If you're a healer, he'll only go to you. For literally anything. Any physical therapy? He'll only ask for you. Sick? he'll visit you every day to get a checkup.

-adding onto that, he knows that being a medic can be stressful. He'll do anything and try to make you relax. Massages, movie nights, and even try and cook for you. He'll place you in his lap and try to relieve you of stress from work.

-If you two ever have to go on separate missions, Rein will be contacting you every day. He'll send emails and call you whenever you're both free to talk. Rein will and can talk for hours so you may not get sleep that night.

-Once you two meet up again from your mission, he'll give you the biggest bone crushing bear hug. He gets so excited to see you that he can't contain himself.

-he hasn't felt this kind of love in years, so he may be clingy in the beginning. At times it can be suffocating. But You two can talk it out and create boundaries,

Underland Chronicles headcanons

Gregor & His Dad keep each other in check over their antidepressant/anti anxiety/PTSD medication schedule.

Gregor takes antidepressants to quell not just the depression but to quell the Rager instinct.

Grace and Gregor's dad go to couples therapy, not because they hate each other, but they have to relearn how to love each other after Gregor's dad's disappearance. He's also back teaching High School Science.

Lizzie gets super into KPOP, and wears headphones all of the time for comfort. She definitely does tiktok dances and tries to get Gregor to do them, but he just looks so awkward.

Mrs.Cormaci goes on a cruise and sends photos and posts cards from each country she's in. With a note about the food, rating each meal according to her proposed Ripred scale of enjoyment.

The Flowers that made Gregor trip balls in Curse Of The Warmbloods is the same plants that smoked Shorty in Scary Movie 2. Low-key feel like Underland Kush would go so crazy.

People thirst after Gregor in highschool, and it's really confusing for him because he literally gives them nothing to work with. But he learns girls are making fan edits of him. And he can't tell if he's supposed to like that or not.

Boots almost becomes Harambe 2.0 cause she wants to talk to all the animals And almost climbs in an enclosure.

Grace, due to her hospital stay Underland during the plague, is actually able to go back to school and become a nurse. But would never admit she was inspired by the Underland. She brings back A giant bottle of Tylenol and they all think she's the best healer in the word.

remus is her best friend, and they spend as much time as possible together. he is her safe haven. he just understands her like no one else, and she him. he also has the best weed

loved her parents and knew they loved her, but she felt stifled in that house and hated the way they pandered to petunia. going to hogwarts probably saved her life

she has a massive crush on sophie thatcher and the girls found it hilarious because of how much she looks like marlene

knew everyone’s secrets (probably before they knew them themselves) and despite being a massive gossip, she never shared anything about anyone that was not public knowledge

when angry everyone knew to steer clear, except remus, he would calm her down just by walking into a room, and would then take her for a walk to vent to him before smoking a joint together

after the war ended and they all SURVIVED, she and james adopted two more children and raised them with the children of remus and sirius, and mary and emmeline, with marlene and dorcas being the super cool fun aunts

19 Things I, Draco Lucius Abraxas Black Malfoy, Learned at Nineteen

I originally intended to post this on my 20th birthday (last September 17) but I was drowning in College work and I only found the time to post now!! :(( | Warnings: References to the wizarding war, therapy, implied sex | Read on Ao3 | Ko-fi

Life after the War felt like the same difference at first. The world spins too fast and everyone is too good at pretending they’re okay.

Putting life on pause isn’t such a bad thing. Before I took a leap of faith with Wizarding Medicine, I sort of... wandered for a while. It was nice not to have darkness loom over me on some days.

Making a career out of something you love can be difficult. I love far too many things. I like to think that I’m an astronomer in another universe, a florist in another, and an apprentice Healer in this one.

My love for the stars only grew over the course of silent nights spent studying on my apartment’s rooftop. I study the stars right after I’ve studied the human brain. I can’t decide which one is more interesting—the consciousness that lives inside of us or the unknown that lives out in the universe.

Muggle tattoos feel incredible. I have three at the moment–a snake that wraps around my thigh, a dragon on my back, and the narcissus flower on my forearm. Mother wasn’t very fond of them at first, but I think she likes the flower more than she admits.

Father likes it when I call him Dad. He remains complicated, but has learned that there are more things in life than anger and resentment and power. He sends me a letter every Sunday to tell me about his week and ask how I am. I think he’s trying to make up for lost time. It’s okay, I am, too.

Potter gets into accidents more often than I get to visit Mother in France. Seriously, he’s in the emergency ward at least twice a week.

Things have changed since I left Hogwarts. This includes whatever Potter and I had.

Muggle psychology is interesting, though less advanced than the wizarding one. I go to a Muggle therapist once a month. I prefer that my therapist only knows and believes what I tell them. It makes me feel better about the part I played in the War.

I enjoy watching Quidditch matches, despite deciding that I preferred medicine over this career. It’s nice to see a familiar face dashing towards a snitch, too. Especially if it’s a pair of forest green eyes looking back at me.

Potter has gotten wickedly good at being a Seeker. He’s always been good, but I think he’s better than me now, especially since I’m out of practice.

A "clubhouse" sandwich might just be the most magical thing I have ever tasted. After Mother’s blueberry pie, of course.

Potter is a wonderful cook, but a bad baker. He burnt the cupcakes three times in two hours!

I'm a decent baker — at least better than Potter.

The ocean isn’t as scary as it sounds. I used to fear it as a child, because I was always afraid of what lay in the unknown. Turns out, it isn’t too bad. Especially if I’m with Potter.

I cannot fucking sing the Happy Birthday song. It’s out of tune no matter how hard I try. It’s a stupid song anyway—it’s not funny, Potter!

Apparently, Potter can speak four languages now. What a menace! I’m learning another one as we speak so I could outlanguage him.

Muggle ‘cars’ are... something else. I still don’t trust it enough. No, definitely not more than a broom. This thing called the "engine" is too loud and—Potter!

Apparently, theoretically, you could have intercourse inside of a Muggle vehicle. At the back, rather. I’m too tall for the front. Good to know.

Hold Me Like a Grudge (Gavin x Lasko Royal AU) Ch. 2

CW: This chapter contains Lasko coping with the loss of a limb, abuse of power, and dismissive language surrounding worth and bodily autonomy.

The Kingdom of Dahlia is known for its prosperity, but its medical technology is lacking.

Two days after the bomb exploded at his feet, Lasko wakes in a med tent with a pounding headache and a dull pain in his right leg. He sits up slowly, taking stock of his body.

Headache (probably a concussion); no burns or cuts, certainly the work of a healer; both arms, both legs, one of them burning.

No.

He throws the blanket off and stares in numb horror at the spot where his right leg ends in neat bandages at the knee.

His lower leg is gone. He can see that it's gone, but he can feel the ache in it as clearly as if it were still there, still on fire. He tries to sit up farther, but the pain of the mangled muscle and skin takes his breath away, and he falls back hard against his pillow.

He can't think about what it means right now. He needs to know what became of the others.

He calls for a medic, voice ragged, and one sweeps in quickly, looking surprised and relieved.

"What happened to the civilians?" he asks before they can ask about him. "And my squad?"

"All safe," the healer assures him. "Your troops drove off the bandits and brought you back here." Lasko exhales, relaxing somewhat, but it only lasts a moment before the healer continues, looking regretful. "We did everything we could about your leg, but it was too far gone. I'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry for," he says quietly, fighting back nausea. "Thank you for saving my life."

The healer bows and hurries off. Lasko closes his eyes, heart sinking. His life was saved, but his leg was lost. What of his career? He had dedicated most of his life to the military, to being the best solider and commander he could be. What did a lost leg mean for that?

Magic had closed his wounds, but it couldn't bring back his leg. Technology could give him a replacement, but it would be nothing like the original. He spends the night sleepless, kept awake by pain and loss, and is fitted for a prosthetic in the morning.

The next few weeks are long and miserable.

He spends his time either resting or doing physical therapy, a combination of stretches and magic designed to minimize nerve pain and maximize mobility. The drudgery is occasionally interrupted by his visiting crew, who bring him flowers and alcohol and news from the field.

His second-in-command, who was with him at the trading post, has been serving as leader in his stead. In response to the attack, security around all trading posts has been increased. He and his squadmates have received medals for protecting the post and its people.

No one will tell him when he can return to the field. He hopes against hope that he can return at all.

He can walk well enough with a crutch, and for a short time without one, but there can be no running or crouching or complex maneuvers like before. Wearing the prosthetic for more than a few hours at a time is very painful, leaving the skin of his leg red and angry even when padded.

His body is otherwise healed, but the loss of his leg continues to dampen his spirits. He could survive without it. He would survive without it. But what will he do for the rest of his life? The military was all he had. He has the means to comfortably retire, but he would lose his mind trapped at home.

Finally, a month after the incident, someone will finally talk to him. It isn't good news.

He has just finished physical therapy when an extravagantly-dressed man steps into the room. He looks vaguely familiar--Lasko thinks he recognizes him from a parade or some other event.

Yes. His greasy, plastic smile confirms him as a diplomat, a minor noble--friend of the royal family and generous donor to every organization that might make him look good.

"General Moore," the man says, arms spread wide. Lasko moves to stand, but the man waves him off. "Oh, don't get up for my sake. Relax, be comfortable!"

"Thank you, sir," Lasko says stiffly. "May I ask what brings you to medical?"

"Why, you, of course!" Lasko feels cold. He keeps his face neutral as the man continues, pacing around the room like a preening bird. "Your reputation precedes you. Youngest and most accomplished general in Dahlia's history, adored by peers and subordinates alike...How long have you served, Mr. Moore?"

Lasko never cared for titles in conversation, but he doesn't like the way this man has dropped his. So he does the same.

"Ten years."

"A whole decade. Impressive. And you attended the academy before that?"

"Yes. Is there a point to this line of questioning?" Lasko asks. The man laughs.

"So suspicious! I'm not questioning you; I'm just making conversation!"

"You left your palace and came all the way to the edge of the kingdom to 'make conversation?'"

The man sighs dramatically and raises his hands in mock surrender.

"Alright. I didn't come to chat. I came to give you the good news!" He claps his hands together excitedly, but Lasko just stares. He's certain that whatever news this man brings can't be good.

"You won't be stuck here anymore," the man crows. "And, you'll never have to go into the field again!"

Lasko's mouth is dry, ears pounding with dread.

"What do you mean?" he asks quietly. The man smiles, clearly pleased with himself.

"You are going to Desiderium to be a companion to the king."

Companion? Desiderium is another free kingdom, populated predominantly by demons. Why would he need to go there?

The man's smug grin never fades, and he raises his arms and eyebrows like he's given Lasko an amazing present and is waiting to be thanked.

"Isn't that wonderful? You're going to be a concubine!"

Concubine? Lasko's ears are hot. Human royals haven't kept concubines in years. Not legally, at least. But what of demons?

"I," Lasko breathes, "I'm a solider. A-a general."

The man makes patronizing noises.

"Aww. Not anymore."

Lasko stands abruptly. The military has been his life. Dahlia has been his life. And now this bureaucrat is threatening to take all of it away.

"You can't. You c-can't send me away, strip me of my rank."

"I can, and I am."

"Who authorized this?" Lasko snarls, fists shaking at his sides.

"His Majesty," the man replies airily. It's then that Lasko recognizes him as Alberto, the king's favorite nephew. Very few people outrank the top general, the King of Dahlia chief among them. Meaning Lasko can't argue. His life is over.

The fight drains from him. His shoulders slump, and he drops his head, a thousand terrible scenarios running through his mind.

"Why?" he finally whispers.

"You're a liability. What good is a solider who can't carry their own weight? This is the best way you can serve your country now." Lasko doesn't respond, and the man shrugs on his way out. "Cheer up, Moore. There are worse things than being an incubus' toy."

☘ Headcanons:

Voice: Warm af. His words come out a little swallowed sometimes due to his disability, but years of practice and speech therapy have helped him through the worst of it.

Handwriting: While one is tempted to make Clifford’s handwriting the typical doctor’s mess, he actually has pretty neat handwriting. He writes a lot of notes about his plants, often curled around drawn diagrams of them, so he forms small, curled letters that are easy on the eyes.

Clifford’s birth name is Chaoxiang, meaning “expecting fortune”. His mom chose his American name because it had a lot of nickname potential for him.

When Clifford was young, he never understood the true purpose of talking to plants. He didn’t understand the exchange of carbon dioxide. Instead, he thought they genuinely needed the verbal encouragement. Despite now knowing the truth, he still converses with his plants and encourages other inanimate objects while using them.

Ask Clifford to draw a flower, and he’s great. It’s fully detailed and to scale and worthy of being in any of his botany books. Ask him to draw literally anything else? It’s terrible. The worst. This is the kind of man who would draw horses how they appear in old artworks. Awful.

Once he and Enes became friends in school, Cliff became the worst person to get up to shenanigans with. Not only was he terrible at lying to teachers, but they also tended to believe he was innocent himself, leading to a remarkably low detention count.

Cliff is surprisingly built. He lives a healthy lifestyle and probably exercises, because there is no other canon justification for him to be as buff as his FC.

In another life, Clifford would’ve liked to go to a muggle university for a proper degree in botany.

He isn’t sure where it came from, but Cliff has a love for independent sci-fi novels. Something about life on a spaceship reminds him of life at school. He also likes the guesses at what futuristic medicine could look like.

Required Items (In your recording studio area) -Microphone -Guitar -Piano How To Setup A Record Label And Recording Studio Create a record label or recording studio. Give the lot either venue type. Record Label, Recording Studio. Find Music Talent In this version of the mod you'll need to actively search and find new talent for your record label. You can go to night clubs, bars, karaoke bars, or create sims with music and singing talent. You'll need 3 entertainers. Vocal Artist, Piano Player (keyboard player), and Guitar Player. Use the "Find Music Talent", social menu and interactions to offer them a deal.This is just an offer. They'll either accept the deal or refuse. If they accept the deal you'll get a notification. Once you have your talent, purchase the record label How To Purchase A Record Label From any basegame computer select the "Record Label" menu and Purchase Record Label interaction. If you set up a recording studio you can purchase that too. Make sure you've set this up ahead of time so the interaction will appear. Troubleshooting. If you don't see the interaction try a different computer, different desk, or set the computer on a kitchen table. Make sure you have the cas trait as well. *Note - once you purchase the venue it'll revert back to generic. Negotiate A Record Deal (While at the Record Label, any generic lot, or home) Use your phone to plan a social event, non goaled Negotiate Record Deal. You'll need to invite the music lawyer, your Sim, vocal artist, guitar player, and keyboard/piano player. If you notice that one of the options to invite a sim is empty, either offer a deal to someone else or make sure they're in the same world the negotiation is in. Negotiating with the lawyer involves using the negotiation interactions long enough to at least become an acquaintance or friends. Once you have then the Agree To A Deal interaction will appear in the same Negotiate Record Deal social menu. Lawyer fees will cost $10,000 *You can end the event but you'll first need to get the musicians to actually sign the deal. If they do not then they will not be able to create music tracks in the recording studio. Next Use your phone to start the recording session social event. This event will cost $25,000. The entertainers work through an autonomy buff. Make your recording studio area distraction free with everything in one room. You might need to lock everyone in one studio room, and make sure their needs are all high. Otherwise other autonomy interactions might have higher priority. *The studio room needs a microphone, guitar, and piano. * If your Sim does not play their instrument and record, that's okay, the mod will still work and you'll get the needed track when you ask to them to stop recording. It's possible that the event will ask you to stop recording before starting recording. Go through with the interaction in that case. Once you have the three needed tracks (vocal track, keyboard track (piano), and guitar track), you can create a full album from the computer. Use the console cc from aroundthesims4 that's also a pc. Interactions will show up on THE DJ 'CONSOLE' EQUIPMENT Once you have the album you can choose how to distribute. Upload the album to music streaming service, license, or sell direct to fans. Each method will return a random amount. You might make a profit or lose on the investment.

Find the Industrial Factory Machine in Build/Buy Misc Electronics Category. Price $2500 Search "Industrial Factory Machine". Optional Functional File Cabinet is available for $75 found in Build/Buy Misc Surfaces. Search "File Cabinet" Desks for employees and computers. How To Hire And Fire Employees From a basegame computer use the Business Management menu and Hire or Fire interactions. When hiring employees you can select up to 12. These are the employees that will spawn at the corporate office when you Open the office. The Fire employees interaction will be blank if you did not hire anyone. The employees you did hire will show up here. When you fire them they will no longer show up when you Open your office. When you're ready to do business use the Business Management Menu to Open for business. Purchase Raw Materials Raw materials will cost $400 for a qty of 4. These are used to create product shipments. These are electronic parts you can find in your inventory. How To Make Sales Use your phone to plan a social event, select Sales Meeting. You can find needed interaction from the Socail "Make Sales" menu. You'll need to goal the event to close the deal. Bronze reward is a small sales contract. Silver reward is a medium sales contract. Gold is a large sales contract. These contracts will arrive in your Sim's household inventory like other event rewards. You'll need to travel to your residential lot to get them and then place the contract in your Sim's inventory. They're required to complete the order. How To Create Product Shipments Once you have a sales contract from a business customer in your Sim's inventory and at least one raw material, you'll need to create their order and ship it to them. Use the Industrial Factory Machine to create the proper product shipment. The interactions on the Industrial Factory Machine are instant. Check your inventory for the shipment. How To Deliver Orders From the computer and "Business Management" menu, select "Delivery Service". A delivery service will arrive to pickup your shipment. Click on the delivery driver, select the order size you're shipping. The item will be removed from your inventory and shipped by the delivery service. You'll also get the payment when you ship the item. $2000 for small sized shipment, $3000 for medium sized shipment, $5000 for large sized shipments. Functional File Cabinet And Reports From the computer you can print needed documents and files. Then place those files in the file cabinet if wanted. The file cabinet has it's own inventory. The give name isn't working at the moment.

DANCE STUDIOS The purchase, open, and close interactions will appear on computers no matter the location, including residential lots. You sims might use interactions from this mod automously. When you purchase the lot it'll automatically turn into a generic lot type instead of displaying the "Dance Studio". You can sell the business using the retail UI but be aware the remaining function of the retail UI should not be used in any way. How To Setup A Dance Studio Your dance studio should have a few floor mirrors to allow the "practice dancing" interaction. Using the dance floors from get together are handy for adding multiple dance options. Don't forget to add a bathroom and an office with a basegame computer and stereo. Next give the lot the "Dance Studio" lot type. This will allow it to show up on computer for the purchase option. How To Purchase From your Sim's basegame computer on a residential lot, select the "Dance Studio" menu and "Purchase Dance Studio". This will take you to the world map. Select the lot you setup and be sure to have enough funds for the purchase. You'll then be greeted with the retail UI to transfer funds. Transfer a small amount or however much is needed. Open And Closing To open or close your dance studio just use the "Dance Studio" menu and select open dance studio or close dance studio. When you open the studio 8 sims will spawn and start dancing if you have music going. They'll stick around for a few hours and then leave. If you want them to leave before that just close the studio via the computer. Last Notes This is currently a very small mod with just the purchase, open, and close features. I will look into adding a functional dance instructor career that'll use all the in-game dance moves. Meanwhile using the recommened mods above will provide a lot additional gameplay options. I noticed a possible glitch with the dance floor. The dance floor would not allow any interactions. Not sure if it's because the lot type reverts to generic or not. ROAD TO FAME STREET DANCING/ BALLET BARRE MOD Barre Interactions Sims can: Practice Ballet (Solo) Train (Solo) Practice with… (Group) Train with… (Group) Practice allow dancers to be interrupted midway. They can be chatted with, clink glasses during new years, or take a teen selfie if autonomy is on. Train disallows secondary interactions. No waving, no chatting, minimal idling.Interactions towards Dancers Non-dancing sims can select dancers and: Heckle (Under Mean pie menu) Cheer (Under Friendly pie menu) Watch and Learn Mentor Heckle / Cheer will not interrupt sims whether they are practicing or training. Affects relationship. Sit and chat friendly. Mentor: Sims who have dance skill level 4 and above can mentor other dancers. Dancers receive a boost in skill increase by 50%, or 100% with the Mentor reward trait. Mentored sims may develop the impressed sentiment towards their mentor. Watch and Learn: Sims have the option to 'watch and learn' from dancers with skill level 4 and above. Increases dance or motor skill. Sit or chat friendly.

Psychiatrist - CAS give your Sim the Psychiatrist trait Running An Office - The first thing you'll need to do is Start A New Client Session from the All In One PC (base game). This interaction will spawn your first client. When the client arrives perform a mental health assessment. Click on the new client, Mental Health Services social menu, and select Mental Health Assessment.You'll need to ask the client a couple of questions to get an idea of what they have an issue with. When you ask the new client to describe what's happening to them, a new menu will appear behind the "Mental Health Assessment" menu. This will be the issue they're dealing with. There are several potential mental disorders -Anxiety -Bipolar -Depression -Borderline Personality Disorder -Eating Disorder -Psychosis When making a diagnosis, the new client will become your regular client. You can also prescribe medication and send them to appropriate group therapy at any time. Regular Clients will have a new social menu behind the Mental Health Services menu called, Mental Health Client Session. Mental Health Clients (regular clients) You can hold sessions with your regular clients to help them stay on track and manage their disorder. You can also continue to send them to groups and prescribe medication. Using your phone, start a social event. Goal the event to earn regular income from clients.

Hailing from a long lineage of fairies in the Vine Clan, Safiya's family served as reliable natural healers in the community. Zac Narvaez, plagued by ailments, sought solace in the Lockhursts' healing abilities. [ Wounds That Refuse to Heal ]

Hearing that Ashelia was the only survivor among her siblings made Mantis’ eyes widen. It hit too close to home, and something inside her chest seemed to tug painfully as her antennae became droopy. Before Ego learned that Quill was still out there, Mantis thought for the longest time she was the only child of Ego left alive. Then Ashelia said it did not matter now. “But it matters to you…” Mantis said softly. “Therefore, it matters.”

Ashelia’s reaction to the flowers was endearing, and Mantis smiled. Her antennae perked up when Ashelia said Mantis was very kind, helping Ashelia despite knowing nothing of her. “I do know a few things. Basch and his brother did mention you… But do not worry, they did not criticize you. Basch truly cares about you, although I believe you are aware.” Ashelia’s offer was really sweet, and Mantis’ face lit up as Ashelia brought up being a healer. “Oh, that is wonderful, Princess! I can do some healing, too. Though… I think it has less to do with the art of healing itself, and more to do with my ability to control others. I can try to control an injured part of their body and leave their will intact. For example, I can get them to stop bleeding.” Mantis tilted her head. “Though it can be difficult for me to do so if I am injured. It makes it harder to heal myself. I am thankful for your offer and I will make sure to ask for your help if I need it, but you do not need to repay me.”

Mantis listened intently as Ashelia explained how surprised Basch had been by Vossler’s betrayal. How Ashelia could tell that Basch had no idea his friend was capable of doing something like that. “Perhaps he wants to project kindness and goodness as the default, and see the best in others. If I am honest, it is something I would be more guilty of myself if I wasn’t able to read people’s intentions. I believe that is why he was disappointed, especially considering this man was his friend.” Her hand moved to gently rest on Ashelia’s shoulder. “If you do not wish to tell him, then don’t. But I believe telling him could make you feel safe. Maybe you are right, maybe he would blame himself, but… he would be mistaken. It was his friend who chose to attempt to hurt someone.”

Mantis knew that expecting Ashelia and Noah to clear the air was a rather idealistic approach. But in her defense, it was one she had learned as she lived with the Guardians: no matter how often they argued, how loud their fights were, how different they were from one another. At the end of the day, they were a family of choice. They loved each other and were willing to protect each other from danger. Mantis knew there was no love between Noah and Ashelia, but they still had something in common: Basch cared deeply about them both.

“Of course I will accompany you, Princess.” Mantis smiled warmly. “Do not worry, I will not let things escalate.” If Ashelia and Noah could not actually be kind to each other, Mantis could always use her powers to, at least, make sure they wouldn’t get physical again. Mantis stepped aside, for she had no idea where Noah could be. “After you.”

Ashelia smiled. It did matter to her, but more and more she felt pressure to let go of the past. She didn’t feel ready to do that, but she wasn’t sure there was any adequate amount of time that would ever make her feel ready. “Thank you. I do know that, I just… I need to strike a good balance… between adjusting to this time period and keeping the memories of those I loved close. I haven’t figured out how to manage that yet, but I am trying,” she said honestly. “They have something here called therapy. Have you heard of it?” she asked so innocently, having no idea how common and normal as thing it was on Earth in this time period. “It’s a wonderful thing. There are kind people who will listen to your problems and concerns and then give you advice on how to solve them or heal from them. It has helped me immensely, and I truly wish such an activity had existed in my time.”

“Basch cares for me?” she asked as soon as Mantis had said it, but she was quick to correct. “Oh, I think it is the duty he still feels to my father. He told me he promised my father to protect me after he was gone, and so I think he still feels as though he has to continue in that duty.” Because it couldn’t be for any other reason. Especially after she’d been so cruel for him when they were reunited after his imprisonment. Even so, her cheeks turned a bit pink.

As Mantis lit up, so too did Ashelia.
