Drawings + Rants + Headcanons/Naruto AU

i finally had some time to draw my versions of tean seven (minus kakashi). im gonna detail more of my AU later in the post but here are the designs and some notes.

For sasuke, in one of my other posts i had the theory that sasuke keeps his hair short to avoid resembling itachi, and thats why it is longer in time skip, because he is coming to terms with his trauma and still loves itachi. I also gave him similar creases to itachi, just from stress.

tbh im not too sure about this naruto design…but at least he isnt balding like before💀.

for sakura, i actually really like her older design, so i just drew her working. she would have her hair up and i gave her sakura blossom hair pins and eyeshadow.

also i havent drawn in forever so..thats why its messy.

(the rest of this is me rambling on..)

Now for changes i made to the story:

1. Narusasu endgame (yk im a stan)

I would have both of them be joint hokages, so technically both are the 7th. I know Sasuke is referred to as the shadow hokage, but that doesn’t really entail anything. I think it’s important because Sasuke would know just how important reform is for the village and shinobi system, but since people are still suspicious of Uchihas, Naruto would be the face. This fulfills Naruto’s dream, which when you really think about it, his dream was just to be loved, not really to be a politician. Naruto has seen how unfair and corrupt their society is, so he would completely work with Sasuke to make sure things like Danzo and Hiruzen’s corruption, child soldiers, hyuuga slavery and the “Uchiha Incident” dont happen again. I could explain more of this in a later post.

2. I would have Hinata look up to Sakura more, instead of Naruto.

I think it makes a bit more sense, Sakura is brave, outspoken and independent, just like Hinata wants to be. I would have Sakura be her first friend, since she can’t stand to see people be excluded or alone. That leads me into changes I would make for Sakura’s story.

3. Sakura. In the original, I would keep her kind of bratty attitude until things get serious in the Zabuza arc. Seeing her close friends so close to death, while not being able to help much would challenge her to become a protector. This also gives motivation for her to learn healing and medicine when Tsunade comes around. Sakura would be the “rock” or “glue” of team seven, which makes sense because she is the only one of them that came from a stable home.

Sakura initially resents Sasuke for betraying the team, but seeing how dedicated Naruto is to saving him, she decides its worth it to help bring him back. Besides if she didn’t, naruto would just endager himself trying.

4. Sasuke. I would have Sasuke after he realizes Itachi was manipulated into a genocide to protect the village, still go through him “i’m gonna destroy the village” phase, but when Naruto defeats him, they make a promise to change things, so no one else will have to suffer like that. I would also show more of the psychological effects of witnessing Itachi’s murders. One of my headcanons is that he’s pretty thin, since trauma survivors tend to have chronic stomach pains. He’s probably pretty paranoid about others betraying him, so he does it to them first (probably why he pushes naruto away so much). Sasuke is also probably still ostracized or “othered” for being an uchiha, since that is what the village is told about them. People still pity him, but dont come near him.

5. Naruto. 😭I actually made up a whole theory on why Hiruzen didn’t take great care of naruto, bc to me it just doesn’t make sense. it’s kinda a dumb theory and doesn’t rlly have anything to do with canon, but- what if Minato wanted to expose the corruption in the hidden leaf and get rid of the foundation, so as a sort of revenge, or just general distaste for Minato, Hiruzen doesn’t really provide for Naruto. 🤷‍♀️idk. A change I would make is to have naruto mature more to match his age. Like ofc it makes sense for him to act out for attention esp when he was younger, but i feel like past shippuden..he didn’t really mature at all? maybe thats just me. I’ll probably have more stuff to add for him, i’ll think of it later or put it in my headcanons post.

Note

Dallas Winstons grandson is named NYC and he acts just like how Dally used to be. Before all the trauma.

NYC is what Dally never was. Dallas also had a daughter who is named Paris. Paris was raised by the Curtis gang and she never got to know her father. To modern days, she has the Curtis’ Chocolate cake recipe memorized.

Paris’ job also happens to be a prosecutor. She doesn’t deal with criminals tho, she deals with corrupt politicians and police, and she ALSO SUED THE POLICE THAT KILLED DALLY LOLIK

Non, je ne regrette nien (Eames x fem!oc) Part II

Eames masterlist - first part

Summary: Cobb tells the group about the new project they have to do and to Eames' surprise he knows that, somehow, her former sister-in-law is involved.|| Jasmine's life is quite chaotic at the moment and things are about to getting worse when Eames finally calls her.|| His and her friends, know about the other.

Words: 3.1k (believe when I say that only one hour ago, I had half of it and a massive writer's block 😭.)

Eames' cat, named Bes after the Egyptian God of the dreams, was a fat girl who always was where Eames was. From the cat tree that Eames bought for her and put inside that warehouse, Bes was listening to the team while they were discussing the last job.

Dom was hired by a Parisian politician to perform an inception in an important judge by implanting him the idea that he was innocent and could avoid the prison that inevitably was his fate. The politician could bribe the rest of the tribunal but him. He just wanted immunity and forgiveness due some corrupt things he did in the past.

"Did you accept?" Arthur asked not believing his ears.

"We did much worse things."

"It's different, Cobb! We're talking about a man who stopped the construction of a school to buy a fucking house in the Polynesia!"

"It was a hospital," corrected Eames.

"Much worse, then! Let me ask again, did you accept?!"

"I did," Cobb looked at his friend, hands in his pockets touching the token that was there.

"You're losing your mind, Dom. Fuck. And all of you are okay with this?"

"To do this job you don't have to have morals," Eames replied. "We're not angels. You either."

"Do we have options?"

Dom shook his head and Arthur sighed. "Okay, then, let's help this motherfucker. It seems that the only honest being here is Bes."

"That's what you think. That's because you're not living with her," Eames said looking at his cat sideways.

"Better her than you," Arthur stated.

"If it helps to ease your mind, this person promised me to finish the hospital."

"And did you believe him?"

"I can destroy his life," Cobb said, "he knows that."

"Still…"

"Arthur, if this man doesn't do what he promised, I'm going to kidnap him and going to do the same but in his mind and in the next hour he's going to expose himself in public television. Now, can we focus on this?"

Arthur finally nodded.

They left the less important projects aside for the moment to focus on the judge. The next few days Arthur investigated him the same way he collected a good number of data for the politician as well.

The judge was a 56 years old man called Pierre Durant. He was married to an important chef, but despite the money they have their lives were still simple.

"When do we have to do this?" Ariadne asked, three days after Cobb announced the project.

"We have time. But we can't waste hours. I'm guessing a couple of weeks or a month. We can train, we can think about this detailed."

"He has a dental appointment in three weeks," Arthur said writing the date on the whiteboard. "Le sourire blanc his dentist is doctor Jasmine Prince."

"What?" Eames stopped what he was doing to stared at his friend.

"I said he has a dental appointment we can use to…"

"The dentist name, Arthur."

"Jasmine Prince. Why?"

"No, we can't use that appointment to do this."

"Why not?"

"Because I know her. The woman who greeted me the other day in the street… that's Jasmine Prince. Or Jas."

"Well, we can persuade her to help us," suggested Ariadne. "Is she your friend?"

"Not exactly."

"Is she your ex, then?"

"Not exactly."

"Eames, for god sake!" Arthur was exasperated and it was notorious. "You were the one who said we don't have morals when we're doing this job! Amazing that you're more concerned about a dentist than a senator that used people's money to his own benefit."

"We're going to use that appointment to do this," interjected Cobb before Eames could replicate. The leader of the group saw him frown "Talk to her and try to convince her."

"Easy to say, Dominic."

"You screw up somehow with the dentist?" Arthur asked again.

"Maybe."

"How bad that can be?" Ariadne wanted to know, but Eames didn't respond, instead, he walked towards Cobb.

"I'm going to talk to her. But if she refuses we're going to find a new place to do this or I'm out."

Cobb nodded "deal."

The days that followed the moment Jasmine saw Eames were chaotic to say the least. Her patients were everything but patient, her secretary decided to start a new job and left her alone dealing with the schedule, the callings, new appointments and cancellations as well. The new rhythm of the world seemed to be affecting everyone and without help, at the end of the day Jasmine just wanted to go home and sleep for three years consecutive.

And when she was sleeping Eames appeared in her dreams. Usually it was that night but the scenario changed almost every time. Sometimes she was just with him dancing, others Sophia appeared accusing her of being an awful sister. Once, a nightmare woke her up and she spent a couple of hours trying to erase the image of Eames and Sophia laughing at her.

A friend of hers gave her the number of a girl who was looking for a job. Jasmine needed a secretary urgently or she was going to collapse before the end of the month, she promised herself to call this girl soon.

It was those days that she realised that she needed holidays. She was tired, stressed and possibly suffering from anxiety. Jasmine thought that she needed to start therapy as well. But free time wasn't something she had.

That day Jasmine started her day as usual. She fed her ferrets, prepared coffee for her and listen to the first news of the morning before parting to her job. The subway was crowded ad usual at that hour but she managed to get a seat. Music, as always, helped her. Music was part of her the same way books were part of a librarian. She couldn't imagine a world in silence, a world where songs and melodies weren't part of the humanity. She promised herself that at night she was going to play the guitar, despite the complaints from her moody old neighbour and her useless son.

Same as always, that day for her it was full of patients and few time for her. Jasmine realised that she ate anything around 4pm when her stomach growled. In less than an hour, fortunately, she was going to be able to go to her house again.

That same night, Eames was already in the apartment he was renting while he was in Paris. Every new case brought new challenges and usually he was always prepared because it never involved people he knew, but now it was different. How many dentist were in Paris in that moment? Thousands. And of all those dentists, the stupid judge had to choose her? Eames understood that she was good, but it was the problem that could cause working with her what bothered him.

He didn't want her to think that he was playing with people's minds. Even if it was exactly that what he was doing.

"Should I call her now?"

It was a serious question directed to a serious listener as Bes was.

Owner and pet were eating french fries watching Breaking Bad, popular tv show if any in 2010. But Eames wasn't paying attention to Walter White in that moment.

Arthur got him her telephone number and address. Was it legally? No, of course not, neither of what they did was legal. But Eames wasn't going to harass her either. He just wanted to talk.

"As a friend," he said out loud. Bes seemed to judge him when she heard his words.

"As a friend," he repeated. "What do you know about it, girl?"

Meow.

"I know better, Bes."

Bes wasn't so sure.

Jasmine, as she promised to herself, was playing the guitar. The Beatles' song was filling the room and she was lost, feeling the strings in her fingers. She also sang. Not many people knew, but she learnt how to do it decades ago when she was just a teen.

Back then Sophia spent her days learning karate because she wanted to be part of the school team. She was really good at it, won several medals and trophies. Sophia tried to persuade Jasmine to join her, but she refused every time and seeing that, her parents allowed her to learn music and sent her to a nice academy. Jasmine thought more than once that the moment they chose different extracurricular activities it was when the twins started to be independent individuals. And for good or not, it lasted till these days.

When her phone rang, Jasmine was still playing the guitar. The ID showed a number she didn't know, so she thought it was a patient. It wasn't strange for her receiving calls from different people asking her if they could go to her clinic without an appointment or if she could give them some medicine at… 2am.

"Doctor Prince," she said without looking at the number again.

"Doctor Prince? That sounds good, Jas."

Jasmine put the guitar aside and it took her few seconds to recognise his voice.

"Eames? What…? How…? Who gave you my number?"

"Hi, Jas. Uhm. No one. Everything is on internet these days."

"Did you search my name on Google, Eames?"

"Well, no if you say it like I'm a pervert looking for my next victim, Jasmine. It surprised me to see you the other day and I barely could say hello. You ran away."

"No, it's not like that. I didn't ran away. I was tired, and I didn't know what else to say. But I was glad to see you again."

"Were you? For a moment I thought that you weren't."

"What? No. No… I was tired and you were with people."

"Cobb and Arthur, yes, my friends and colleagues. Jas, I have something to tell you and it's better you heard this from me. But it can't be over the phone. I thought, I don't know, maybe we can talk? How about a coffee?"

"Talk about what? What do you have to tell me?"

"Talk. I don't know, life? What are you doing here, what I am doing here. We're friends, after all. Or we used to be."

"Eames…"

"It's okay if you don't want to. That's my number if you ever want to talk, just call me maybe. If I don't answer immediately it's because I'm sleeping."

Her ferrets were looking at her. Dumb idiot, they seemed to think as they were looking at her with their judgy black eyes.

"I'll save your number."

"Sounds good, Jas. I still don't know if it's true that you are happy to see me. But I am. Good night, Jas."

"Good night, Eames."

Jasmine stayed there with her heart pounding in her chest. She added his number on her phone and contemplated it several minutes, while her thumb brushed the keys ready to type a message as soon as her brain give the order. But that didn't happen.

Unaware of what the other was doing, the other day both called some friends to talk. In Jasmine's case, it was an old friend of hers. She was living in United States and they each other from the years they were studying un college. She was friends with Sophia as well, although they cut all ties after Sophia returned to Canada. Time zones were always complicated, but at those hours, it could be considered adequate for both of them.

Holly Matthews was one of the people she trusted the most of her, among with Eva Smith who was living in the USA as well. Both were in stablish relationships and sometimes, more often than Jasmine wanted to admit, she felt behind in life compared to them. Yet, the last thing she felt was envy, quite the contrary. Both Zach and Jack -Holly and Eva's partner respectively- were good men and her friends were happy. In consequence, she was too. But for now, that was something that life didn't give her. Her relationships usually ended very soon. Or very bad. Or both.

"Hospital was really crowded the last week. Suddenly all women decided to have their babies at the same time, it seemed. But I'm getting some rest now and Zach is very happy about it." Holly commented. Medicine somehow joined both friends, although their works weren't the same at all.

"For sure, he is" Jasmine chuckled. She was eating her lunch, something she didn't do the day before, while talking with her "you are lucky, Holly. Hope you know that."

"Gary didn't talk to you again?"

"He better not! I rather be alone than with someone like him again…"

"But?" Holly could hear her friend from the other side of the line and she knew she wanted to say something.

"Eames reappeared. Well, it's not like he reappeared magically. I found him here two weeks ago and he called me last night."

"Oh my god."

Only Eva and Holly knew about the whole thing about Eames and her and that infamous night when they had sex.

"Yes. That was my reaction. He wants to talk, but he didn't tell me about what. I have his number, tho."

"Well, call him then!"

"Holly…"

"Maybe he just wants to know how you are. It's been a lot of years. Who stops you? Sophia gives a fuck about him."

"Sophia gives a lot of fucks about her exes. She collects them like limited edition figures."

"But they're people, Jas. Individuals who have a life despite what she thinks. And you do want my opinion on this matter, otherwise you will be laughing at this. Call him! Did you talk to Eva?"

"No… not yet. I'm afraid that she'll push me towards him. It was hard not to hear her years ago."

"Because she's right. You should hear her. Jas, you know what I think of Sophia."

"But she's still my sister."

"And this happened when? Four? Five years ago? And it's just a fucking coffee with him or a dinner or whatever, if you want, do it. I have to go, love, but let me know, ok?"

"Yeah, I will. Thanks, Holly."

Jasmine stared at the opposite wall for several minutes.

Five years ago, the next day after spending the night with her former brother-in-law when Jasmine called Eva her friend was categorically: "if you like him, go after him."

And to be honest, part of Jasmine wanted to go after him. But the love she had for her sister was stronger. Eva had snorted back then when Jasmine told her that Eames returned to London where he lived in 2005. "Hope you don't regret it. With due all respect, Sophia is a bitch, Jasmine. And I'm telling you this as her former friend. I sincerely regret introducing him to her instead of you. I didn't see the things clearly."

Eva was his friend back then in 2003 and thought that Eames and Sophia could be a good couple and for a while it seemed to work. But sooner than anyone expected, the arguments began and a bit longer than a year and a half, they broke up. Jasmine thought she wasn't going to see him again, but in 2005 she found him and now, in 2010, Eames appeared in her life again. Not Sophia's life, but hers. Twice.

As for Eames, he was talking with his best friend. Unlike Holly and Jas, the time zone between him and Alice Emerson was huge considering she was living in Australia. But she didn't seem to mind. He was in her kitchen (technically his boyfriend's kitchen, but now it was hers as well) talking to Eames. The phone was in speaker as she was taking advantage to be there to eat ice-cream. It was winter in that side of the world, but that didn't stop her.

"So, yes, Cobb told me about this new case and told me too, that Arthur is a bit upset. I agree, but I like the idea of Cobb destroying this politician's life if he fuck with us."

"I agree. Are you coming with us?"

"I am, yes. But not now, maybe near the day you're planning this inception. Did you do your part yet? Cobb told me you know the dentist."

"I do, yes. I do."

"So?"

"I called her last night. I didn't tell this to the group yet, Al, but I'm her former brother-in-law. I dated her sister."

"Oh shit!! That's why you wanted her out if this!" Alice exclaimed while was holding the spoon near her mouth. "Did you screw up very bad with her sister?"

"No. We broke up because we're going anywhere with that relationship and we were arguing constantly. The this… Jasmine and her sister are twins…"

"So?"

"I fucked Jasmine, too. It happened only once, after I broke up with her sister, but it happened." Eames finally confessed.

Alice's spoon fell on the floor to much her cats happiness who were craving a bit of ice-cream. "You did what?!"

"Only once, Al."

"You're an idiot, Eames. Tell me, for god's sake, that it wasn't because you fantazised about having sex with the two of them…"

"Well, no. I mean, when I knew that Sophia had a twin the idea crossed my mind. But I didn't have sex with Jas because she was 'the other twin'. I did it because I wanted to. Jasmine is a sweet girl, I could never do that, even if I thought about it. We both agreed, otherwise."

"Shit. Eames, you're very lucky that I'm on the other side of the world! I want to smack you! Okay, let's see. Do you think she wants to talk to you?"

"Hard to know. When I saw her by chance weeks ago, she ran away, but she says she didn't."

"Can you blame her? At least she talked to you last night, that's something. Eames, just… I don't know, just give her some time. I can talk to Cobb and persuade him to give you extra time without giving him details. He listens to me."

"That could be very helpful."

"Fine. Wait for her call, then. If not, we can think another thing. But don't screw up this time, Eames."

"I'm an angel, Alice."

His friend rolled her eyes and finished the call.

Eames remained in his apartment that day, thinking about alternatives to do the job. He also checked his phone every ten minutes.

But it wasn't until the night that he received a message.

"Can you tomorrow afternoon? xoxo, J."

He couldn't help but smile

"I can. Tell me where. <3."

Hi! I'm the same person as the Fucked up Batfam ask. I really like your idea for robin angst, poor Damian already feels guilty enough for having attacked Tim in the past after they fix things 😭😭 I would love to hear your ideas on F!Barbara and F!Steph (I'm still working my way through the canon so I didn't have any ideas for either of them). No pressure though! Thanks for answering I think the community you've created is great for fandom (sharing and building on each other's ideas)😊😊

Hmmm... For F!Barbara, it depends on how you mess around with canon. Personally, I hate erasing her growth and path as Oracle. Magically healing her after all of that is distasteful and ableist (in my opinion). Oracle is such a badass, extremely competent, and terrifying. She doesn't need to fit able-bodied standards to completely decimate her enemies.

So, my idea of a F!Barbara is one who chose to become villainous on her inital path to becoming Oracle. She's paralyzed and struggling with these changes, but she's learning about how much she can still fuck up other people's days. In this AU, her Bruce basically wrote her off. He barely tolerated her as Batgirl and deemed her useless to his crime fighting business after he learned of her medical status (this Bruce is entirely focused on the "mission" and lacks ability to care outside of it). Maybe he threw money at her to pay for the medical bills, but overall left her alone to recover (idk where Dick is in this).

Barbara, maybe after hearing another ableist comment directed at her by Bruce and other folks, gets tired of being written off. She's also so fucking sick of all the injustice that her Bruce doesn't fight (violence against minorities [women, LGBT, POC, certain religions], disportionate wealth, corruption, etc). She starts out as a hidden force online that not even Batman knows about.

Then she gets captured by some hero and of course Batman doesn't save her. Scorned from how heroes fail her and others, seemingly only helping those from certain groups, she vows to hold all of them accountable. No hero in any country can operate without her thorough approval, or she incapacitates them.

For F!Steph, I am so so sorry. I am going to cause her so much pain, and obviously she doesn't deserve any of it (nor do any of the other characters, but rip Steph).

Okay! So, Bruce already treated her poorly in canon when she was Robin. Ramp that up quite a bit for this AU, make the rest of the Bats shitty to her as well, and Tim and Steph never end up dating. Steph does end up pregnant when she's Spoiler, but she decides to keep her kid in this AU. Only Bruce and her mom know about it. Steph then has to step up and everything that happened during her final days as Robin happened to her.

Eventually, she returns to Gotham, where she finds out that Bruce had gotten her kid killed (either through negligence or intention, dealer's choice). After dying for Bruce and him causing her kid to be killed (and the shitty ways the Bats treated her), Steph says "fuck it." She works her way steadily through all of Gotham's gangs and mafias until she becomes the leader of Black Mask's rival gang. She then takes him out and absorbs his empire. She is untouchable in the world of crime in Gotham, and Bruce can't prove a damn thing. She has her fingers in all of GCPD, the courts, the politicians, etc. She practically owns Gotham now, and she uses that to get revenge on Bruce.

Iphigenia Moss

Ok, she canonically has a bad relationship with her dad

Though that might be an understatement if she’s starving herself as revenge

So her situation doesn’t quite cross Clemmie’s mind yet, also at this age back then, she’d have been a child and not really have noticed

This time around, she's a bit more observant

Maybe there’s bruises and Clemmie now is like - "Wait a second, Nia (Iphigenia) isn’t that clumsy..."

And then it hits her. She feels terrible for not realizing it sooner because in the original timeline she probably learnt about it a few years down the road. And that'd only been because Nia had told her

This now takes priority because everyone else happens a lot later, Nia's matter is an ongoing thing

There’s some plotting

She can’t do much as a kid, yes. But certain places don’t quite care if you are a kid or not…Clemmie she does what any sane child? adult? would do. She goes to the black market

As long as you have money, nobody cares whether you’re 15 or 50. Much less if you're like 9/10

Her pocket money is probably pretty hefty due to what investments her and her father get up to

First purchase: a wig → blonde? (as she was buying it, she was like - this reminds me of Livia. It’s kind of cute?)

Wandering around the area and some people are side-eyeing her when she goes to the most sketchy booth ever to hire them for a job - no, she’s not hiring someone to kill him. That’s like Plan B 🙂

Anyways, Clemmie is prepared to ruin the Minister of Agriculture’s life + get Iphigenia out of this situation

Around this time: Iphigenia’s parents are starting/in the midst of a fierce custody battle?

Iphigenia's parents didn't marry for love, it was purely business so her father could get a leg up in being promoted to oversee the entire Agriculture Department

The divorce was the talk of the year when it happened, people gossiped and it was hardly in favour of Iphigenia's father

Swann for Iphigenia's mother's house? (as a nod to the myths since myth!Iphigenia's grandmother had her children with Zeus when he appeared as a swan

Undecided if Iphigenia has younger siblings yet in this AU. Maybe he's already remarried at this point and she's got younger half-siblings that he DOTES on?

Clemmie's plan

She learns his secrets and oh boy, are there a lot. Just your stereotypical corrupt politician who also happens to be a terrible person to her friend

She debates for some time on what to do - at one point, Clemmie considers some straight-up psychological warfare before deciding it'd take too long. She wanted Iphigenia out ASAP

So she arranges for a nice package of his secrets to show up in front of the Swann Estate - there's enough to condemn the man to prison or like you know convince him to give up full custody of Iphigenia to her mother

Custody agreement suddenly goes a lot smoother, and oh! Iphigenia's mother gets full custody because her father suddenly decides to relent on that front

In this universe, Iphigenia and her mother never have to deal with the man again.

(and finally in one universe Clytemnestra and Iphigenia get a happy ending 😭 - guys I just really like the myth)

Ep 22

That's it. I've found my most favorite Cdrama character of the year. Do I love everything about him? No. Is he very relatable? No. Is he the best acting performance of the year? No. But heavens forbid if Master Li is written in a way that is just SO understandable and consistent for the setup of a sunny fearless youth who became an immortal and grew weary and bored with time, and decided to just stop with immortality and take one more chance at truly enjoying the mortal world so he could die satisfied. He's just so fucking intriguing to me I could write a 5 page essay about him! I guess I have already written about 2.5!

Dingzhi baby I wish you stop trying to hoard all your grievances and responsibilities in your heart all alone 😔 Tbh can't blame him, that's what happens when you were brutally stripped from your family and friends as a child and grew up with noone but an equally sad master, it stops occurring to you that you need to depend on other people sometimes. And it's not like Dongjun is the brightest bulb in the room to get a proper reading of everything Dingzhi is hiding behind his dazzling grins.

On the positive notes, Changfeng finally seems to be here to stay! Finally! They sleep seperated by a homophobic modesty table tho, boo

I fucking hate you so much. You are not a good guy but you aren't willing to full-on embrace that you are a bad guy either, which makes you a good politician and a good candidate for the throne and therefore the absolute worst scum. Bah.

Gods I think the last time I saw (and cared for) a het estranged couple (plus the girl being forced into a romantic/sexual arrangement she didn't want) was in Shaolin Wendao, but at least there was solace at the end of the story for the sheer agony the characters and the viewers went through. And I already know there will be none for Dashing Youth😭 Why am I doing this to myself.

I need to rewatch BoY just so I can see the younger gen stand up to the monarchy that their parents gen couldn't topple.

Grandparents: "For the greater good" let's downplay the corruption and raise our kids worry-free. If we close our eyes, the evil doesn't exist.

lmao @ your most recent post. Made me wonder what the bunch's political values would be tbh (bc of "tax evader" and "Communist"). Marlon deffo is the most politically involved, he probably also cares a lot about climate change n stuff. I could see jojo being very environmentally conscious as well, it's the animal lover in him. all the german letterboxd reviews for the first dwk movie call leon a fascist (he is WORSE in the movies) which feels pretty harsh, but he honestly seems like somebody who doesn't vote. He hates cops tho n might be one of those leftists who is a bit too focused on the idea of a violent revolution. he also believes in conspiracy theories. Markus and deniz are super rich so there's that. Herr von Theumer is a fiscally conservative right winger for sure. vanessa has to grow out of her girl hating phase to be a proper feminist. raban is just vibing, but i could see him being pretty educated on and interested in the political machinery so to speak.

Yooo very interesting points !! Also agreed, Marlon and Jojo definitely care for the environment and Herr Von Theumer is looking at his sons friends like “of course you’re a soccer player and have pronouns”. Raban is well educated, Vanessa has her feminist awakening and Leon is convinced the government is out there to get him. I see that.

I also honestly really like to think that the bunch all grew to really dislike both capitalism and the government because of the events in season 2. You know with the whole capitalism and corrupted politicians being the main villains. Anarchy for the win. Then again, like you said, Markus and Deniz came from very rich backgrounds so maybe they’re a bit more ignorant about certain things

whumpmas in july day 5: media that gives you whumperflies

a little bit of a throwback, but a childhood favorite of mine was the prince and the pauper. i found it incredibly whumpy, especially the scenes that talked about poverty and public punishment. sure, it often got pretty dark, but i was incredibly intrigued boy medieval horrors at that age! there's an incredible scene where prince edward is going to be publicly whipped and miles, his bodyguard and friend, takes the punishment for him...utterly delightful and formative of some of my favorite tropes 😍🥺😭

of course, captain america: the winter soldier, is a longtime and eternal favorite 😈😈😈 boy oh boy, this film truly has everything, huh? a human weapon whumpee who is so brutally dehumanized, he wears a goddamn muzzle?? and he's the long-lost boyfriend of the Defiant Whumpee protagonist, who goes through heaven and earth to save him??? AND HE IS SAVED THROUGH THE POWER OF LOVE??? 😩😩😩💖💖💖😭😭😭 creepy whumpers ABOUND (politician robert redford ofc but uhhhhhh brock rumlow and the hydra trash party kinkmeme might've been my first foray into noncon whump and he's the base formula for a lot of my worst whumpers 😈😈😈). people getting nearly beaten to death. brainwashing to kill your beloveds. fitey little do-gooder against the cynical forces of the world. institutional corruption and the rise of fascism thought defeated. epic car chases. just...thee film of all time.

daredevil as a show still slaps prodigiously and matt "marytr" murdock is so pretty when he's in pain (plus, i always love a good "misunderstanding/confrontation scene between besties" and mattfoggy will make me weep every goddamn time). 🥺

the bourne trilogy was also very formative for me in a lot of my favorite tropes 😍 dehumanized weapon of a person rediscovering his humanity and burning down the institutions that birthed him? YES. stoic and grim and quiet and deadly and haunted and longing to be tender? YES. epic car crashes that leave their victims broken, staggering, and bloodied? YES. 🙌

the adventures of robin hood was a childhood favorite as well for its glorious whump, particularly scenes of a defiant errol flynn tied up in prison or severely beaten and ready for execution. what a delight. 😈

these are just a few of the ones that give me whumperflies but i wanted to include ones across the range of my life! 💖💖💖 have a very merry @whumpmasinjuly 🥰

@hammill-goes-fogwalking thank you my beautiful friend 💖💕🌷🌸✨this game was so fun! I’ve been submerged in movies more than music lately so this is perfect.

My Seven Comfort Movies are:

1. The Clock (1945)

100/10 - Joe and Alice are so cute. Simple but beautiful and sweet romance story. No misery or negatives to it. You feel on the edge of your seat because of the time crunch they’re in.

2. Seventh Heaven (1937)

100/10 - same vibe as The Clock: simple and absolutely the sweetest. Chico and Diane are so tender and cute. Beautiful and innocent love story set in Paris 1914, unfortunately there is a sad turn, but I will not spoil it (although I will say, everyone survives - don’t worry) still very sweet.

3. It Happened One Night (1939)

90/10 - very cute. Another sweet romance. It’s not lovey dovey but you can still tell that they like each other for the majority of the movie. Nice ending. Funny too. I love it very much 😊😌.

4. The Good The Bad and The Ugly (1966)

100/10 - my goodness. This classic western is the king of westerns for me. I also really love Once Upon a Time in the West. Clint is breathtaking and badass. Tuco is fun and crazy and Angel Eyes is cool, they all fit perfectly in the film. The aura is absolutely spot on, the stunning score by Ennio Morricone just make the movie perfect, along with the scenery and the classic style of the movie. It’s beautiful. Always my fav.

5. Dirty Dancing (1987)

9.8/10 - cute. Me and my sister’s summer movie. Patrick Swayze is the beautiful centerpiece in this. The dancing is captivating. The songs are nostalgic and catchy. Only things I’m not fond of is the guy that owns a hotel that calls baby “kid” and Penny because I find them both so annoying and they are unfortunately in the movie for considerable time. Baby herself and her sister are kinda annoying too. Oh well…

6. The Mission (1986)

110/10 - heart breaking. Beautiful. The piece where Gabriel plays his oboe for the native people is so profound and beautiful. I love this movie. The historical portrayal is beautiful and the religious focus meaningful. Sad ending but I won’t spoil it. For me, Gabriel makes it the most sad 😭.

7. Mr Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

100/10 - captivating and beautiful. So inspiring and wholesome. Jimmy is so beautiful in here (as always). Mr smith is just a beautiful person entangled in the corrupt and rotten government politics. He shows what a good politician/senator should be like: he has strong morals and will fight until he drops for what’s right. It may be 2 hours but doesn’t feel at all that long. Great acting in this film, especially from the wonderful James Stewart.

I would like to honourably mention The Shop Around the Corner (1940)

because I love it so much as well ♥️

Also 100/10 - ah yes, another sweet romance movie with Jimmy. What’s there not to love but the bitterness that Ms Novak shows the lovely and Classy Mr Kralik until the end. Very cute and sweet with a lovely ending.
