A Few hours had passed, and Danny was Disassociating as he was going in and out of consciousness, he was not able to accept what was happening around him. In the two years he had been a protective spirit he had never lost anyone. The 30 people who had died during Ghost attacks were the rare occasions when he was not in town when the attack happened. The Deaths were cause by the GIW not caring about civilians and hit a tour bus trying to catch Boxy. The locals knew to stay away which is why they only got injured but not the outsiders, that was probably the point when the GIW started their information block in earnest. Before then there were a lot of people coming in and out of the city, then the tourists just stopped coming.

It didn’t really worry any of the Amity Parker's at the time everyone figured that people were realizing it was not safe to Visit anymore. They were upset and were starting to see that the GIW were no longer the funny MIB rip offs that shoots like a storm-trooper, they were more Dangerous than the Ghost.

The Ghost may have caused some property damage and caused a few inconveniences, but they never went out of their way to hurt anyone. The GIW had now actively killed the people they claimed to protect. Danny’s parents refused to work with them after that and started to notice things about the ghost around them. It shocked them and had shaken their faith in the GIW when Boxy had actively tried to save the Tourist while he was actively being shot at. By the time they had run across him bonding to Lunch Lady They had completely abandoned the notion that Ghost were non-sentient.

It had shown then that Humans can be the real Monsters in the story. There were kids on the Bus that had been Burned alive and if it wouldn’t have caused them more trouble the GIW would have taken every single one of them for experimentation. Danny and Jazz had been so relieved that their parent did not agree with the GIW about the experiments. It had made him feel a lot better when he had finally told them he was Phantom because he knew that he would not be ending up as one of their experiments.

He couldn’t move the Bindings were too tight and they Burned it helped just thinking of the past. In the back of his mind, he knew he was going into obsession failure. It was a lot like shock, but it could be even deadlier, and it was even more dangerous for first time obsession failure. He knew he if he didn’t pull himself together, he could risk his Core Cracking. If his Core Cracked, he had a 10% chance of not fading. If he managed to pull himself out of the Obsession Failure it would be less dangerous each time.

Normally when a ghost started to have an obsession failure the elders of their Farid would use their core energy to support them until they could heal. As it was, He was alone, and he was not doing so well he couldn’t get overt the fact that he had lost one of his subjects when he was right there. It was worse because he knew Klemper the 30 Tourist were hard because he hadn’t been there to help but this was worse. He wanted his parents and his Ghost parent. “Clocky Help” he managed to say around the muzzle before he finally managed to pass out Luckily the suppressor cuffs kept him in his Ghost form.

Agent O looked onto Phantom wondering where Agent E was, he was in charge of all the wet work for experimentation and was supposed to be back from vacation today. This was one of the few protocols that he hated but he knew it was needed. They only had a limited number of specimens, and they had to make every experiment count. He just wished that they could get started, it had taken so long to get Phantom, and he didn’t want them to escape. Though looking at the green glassy eyes he didn’t think it would happen anytime soon.

Clockwork and Frostbite saw the glassy eyed stare on the young king and Agent O’s look of discussed on the Time Mirrors.

“He is going into Core shock” Growled Frostbite.

“He is and he will survive it” hissed Clockwork his tail lashing like an angry cat he was not happy with what needed to happen. If he didn’t know the hell that was about to rained down on them in a few hours he would have gotten Danny. Timeline be dammed, as it was, he knew his sister would be a good step in for the battle. He was a good fighter but, in this case, he was compromised and if he got involved too much it would lead to a lot more pain for Danny. He tilted his head to a different Mirror “I will not be able to go until the end of the battle, but she will give them the retribution they deserve.”

Frostbite looked at the Mirror Clockwork had pointed at. It showed Morrigan with a dead clock falling from her hands, her hair was wild and had black feathers sticking out along with arm and leg guards of black metal and feathered details on them. The little Curl of Black makeup on her left eye was sharp as ever with an outline of red and she had a black feathered shoulder guard on. She was standing away from the GIW base “They’re so Screwed” he said in surprise and awe.

Clockwork nodded Morrigan was the middle child and while he was always ready to through hands his sister was the one to Burn it all down. He watched as Morrigan’s Crows circled around bringing her the information they would need to get in faster. “True but there is no such thing as over kill in love and war.” They watched Morrigan Turn as three portals opened behind her….

Alright, I thought long and hard about what we might see in Arcane Season 2, what the Machine Herald is going to look like, who else we might see, and so on.

Also, this post does not contain any leaks, I have seen one picture, which doesn't even make sense (lucky me). If you spoil anything under this post, you are going to be blocked. I will talk about bout the trailers, though.

So, let me get my thoughts in some order:

- if Viktor was the hooded person in the trailer or wears a mask, then it's probably more because of his side in this war: he's not a Piltovan, but also not really a Zaunite anymore. We don't know when he moved from the Undercity to Piltover, but from his concept art, it was most likely during his early teens.

He's slightly younger than in S1 Arc1, but already wearing the Academy's uniform (though it seems a bit too big for him, and his pants are more rigged).

So: Viktor is going to be a Pariah and he is going to need to hide his identity, which makes a Collab with Jinx unlikely since she's on the run from everyone. Singed might be there in the direct aftermath after he got blown up, but they're probably going to fall out again since lore-wise Singed is going to team up with Noxus.

- In League of Legends Heimerdinger is a mage (shooketh, I know), and there's already a scene in S1 alluding to this: when Viktor and Heimerdinger are in Heimerdinger's office, Viktor goes through Jayce's notes and is intrigued. He asks Heimerdinger, whether he could do it (magic) and Heimerdinger hesitates a tell-tale second before he declines. Now, Heimerdinger might be a mage, but he relies mostly on his inventions. But wouldn't a fight between Viktor and Heimerdinger be cool? First, they throw ideologies at each other, then they fight. I think, I'd love this even more than Viktor vs. Jayce. Kinda like Obi-Wan vs. Anakin.

- I think, that Caitlyn is going to shoot Vi. Everyone I read so far thinks that it's the other way around, but that would be too predictable in my opinion. But maybe it is that way.

- Just stating that everyone is going to be contrary than they were in S1 and going from there falls a bit short. I think, that there's more to this quote.

- Divorce Era, because Jayce does, in fact, not understand. I am going to cry.

- The Hexcore will save Viktor's life in the aftermath of the explosion, and there are three ways I can see that happening:

(1) Viktor does it himself, maybe with the help from Singed.

(2) Jayce does it, thus breaking his promise to destroy it. I am going to cry

(3) The Hexcore, which is now connected to Viktor will sense his doom and burst to him. That might also be the shine, that Heimerdinger saw in the trailer.

- That brings me to another point, to the connection towards the Void: I don't think there's much to it and that the Hexcrystals are not shards of the brakken. However, I think the Hexcore is sentient due to Sky. Think about it: it changed its form after it disintegrated (or absorbed) Sky. Then it hurt Viktor (honestly, same. You think, you can walk away after accidentally dusting me and threatening to destroy my new essence? I'd be pissed). It might be interesting, if the Hexcore/Sky talks to Viktor in his head, furthering his spiral into madness. I'm here for it.

- Ekko will learn how to manipulate time and he will use it to try and save somebody. Be it somebody from the Firelights, their hideout or Jinx. Maybe it will go in the same direction like in the Convergence-Comic (which is, I repeat, outside of any lore), maybe not.

- Well then, what Viktor might look like: my favourite head-canon would be just as described in The Pulse of the Machine by bringthekaos on AO3. Mechanical eyes? Voice modulator can be shut off? Emotional suppressor has a switch? Rawrs in cyber-engineering. As it stands, I imagine it more to be like Battle Angel Alita (the manga, NOT the film!) or like a Borg from Star Trek. Definitely NOT like a Cyberman from Doctor Who.

- Who else do I want to see in S2:

Swain, just give me the Noxian General and heal my Daddy issues.

Renata, just give me the Chem-Baronness and heal my Mommy issues.

Jhin, Arcane should take place around the same time when Jhin was in Zaun. But that is a far shot (pun intended)

Camille, she exploits Hextech to become a weapon and I think she is kind of contrary to Viktor, who only ever wanted to help (others, himself, though with sometimes dubious means

I don't see that Orianna is Singed's daughter. That would fuck her beautiful lore. Don't do that to me.

Luigi Mangione Claims Cops Used Dirty Tricks During McDonald’s Arrest - Matt Young (Daily Beast)

Cops pulled a number of dirty tricks on Luigi Mangione during their first encounter with him at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania and later at a local police station, the 26-year-old’s lawyer claimed in new court filings this week.

The purportedly illegal tactics included tricking him into accepting a snack to obtain his DNA and seizing his bag at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, as a pretext to rummage through his belongings.

The actions violated protections afforded to Mangione under the Fourth and 14th Amendments, lawyer Thomas Dickey alleged in the documents.

Mangione is accused of carrying out the high-profile murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan last December.

He faces charges in Pennsylvania including possessing an unlicensed firearm, forgery, and providing false identification to police. Mangione is facing trial in New York first, however, on separate charges in both federal and state courts, including homicide and terrorism.

One of the federal charges, murder through use of a firearm, means Mangione could face the death penalty if convicted.

Dickey claimed cops formed “a human law enforcement wall” at the Altoona McDonald’s where Mangione was spotted, questioned, and eventually arrested—though they did not have a legal basis to seize his belongings: a backpack, plastic bag, and other items.

“Prior to this stop, arrest, seizure and/or detention of the Defendant, the APD Officers had no articulable facts and observed no criminal conduct on the part of the Defendant, nor any other evidence indicating that any criminal activity was afoot,” the document states. “Accordingly, APD lacked reasonable suspicion to engage in this activity. At no time did the Defendant exhibit any threatening gesture or show of force. These actions by APD, were in violation of the protections afforded to the Defendant under the Fourth Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution and under Article 1, Section 8, of the Pennsylvania Constitution.”

“Other than the anonymous 911 call, the APD had no independent corroborating evidence that the Defendant was in fact the suspect sought in New York, prior to, or at the time of their stop and/or the investigatory detention of the Defendant.”

In the 36-page document, Dickey writes, “Any purported identification of the Defendant as the person wanted in New York was speculative and based on a hunch,” and describes actions by APD officers and other law enforcement personnel, as “coercive.”

Dickey said the discovery of numerous items was illegal and should be removed from the case, including a computer chip, a clip containing bullets which was wrapped up in some undergarments, 9mm handgun with printed lower receiver, mechanized upper receiver, suspected 3D printed suppressor, and a red notebook. Multiple handwritten notes were also seized.

“The Altoona Police Department illegally seized a notebook which allegedly contained numerous personal writings covering a plethora of personal experiences of the Defendant,” the filing notes. “A member of the Altoona Police Department improperly, and without justification, labeled these writings and/or notebook as ‘Manifesto’. The use of this characterization of the Defendants alleged personal experiences and writings is incorrect, improper, and without justification and has no probative value.

The document says Mangione believes “that this characterization was done so solely for the purpose to prejudice the Defendant and put him in a negative light before the public; all in an effort to prejudice any potential jury pool.”

Later, at the police station, cops provided snacks to an unwitting Mangione.

“While illegally seized, arrested, and detained, the Defendant was provided food and soda while at the Altoona Police Department Station,” the document states.

“The purposes for the same, was to obtain DNA from the Defendant for further investigative purposes. Insofar as the Defendants detention was illegal for reasons set forth, infra, any and all DNA samples, profiles, etc. were poisonous fruits obtained in violation of the protections afforded the Defendant by the constitutions of both the United States and this Commonwealth.”

Prosecutors have accused Mangione of shooting Thompson in front of the Hilton in Midtown Manhattan on the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, in a “frightening, well-planned, targeted” killing. He has pleaded not guilty to state charges but is yet to enter a plea to federal charges.

The philosophy is that this build won't be as optimized for night vision/suppressor use as the 11.5", but it's set up to readily accommodate it. I want a rifle that pushes out a little further day or night but remains light and maneuverable.

Basically a walmart great value URG-I.

Since I now have the rail estate for it, I moved my light to the inboard side of the gun - this allows more of the beam to shine straight ahead of me and plus I can now access the clicky button on the tailcap with my thumb without having to rotate the entire gun out of aim.

Why have the modbutton if I can reach the tailcap now? Redundancies, my child; should the somo modbutton ever go bad, I have a backup solution. Same reason the laser has a fire button on top, but I'm using a modbutton with that as well.

On top of all this, having the modbutton cables protruding in towards me helps further shield them from potential wear and abrasion.

There's a declaration that "the first sin is deception," along with video footage of a flash of light outside a florist; the man who appears there has "a face etched with wrinkles."

Nero takes his role as a 'Lightchaser' very seriously, and is thus determined to see what is actually going on. He ends up using some questionably legal techniques to access the raw footage from the security camera, and proceeds to post a breakdown of the evidence that proves the person in the video is not Lumiere: build, movement, and Evol particle readings.

03: The Introvert Bites Back: The next section of the article is about how "the second sin is pride," and uses the example of Lumiere not appearing at an event; Nero finds evidence that the rumor was spread in hopes of forcing Lumiere to make an appearance; he posts that information and proof.

In his youth, Nero had sent a message that he wanted to meet Lumiere, and received the response, "Instead of looking up to the light, why not become a light that illuminates the world for others?" This is what inspired him to become a hunter.

The next section declares "the third sin is sloth: shocking! Lumiere actually sleeps with Wanderers!"*1 There is a photo of Lumiere napping with a Herte Knave, an Intelligentia type Wanderer. Nero points out that the Wanderer is wearing light cuffs, and that its blade isn't shining, "indicating its Protocore Energy has been depleted."

The next three days last forever, and the negative evidence provided against Lumiere "(crumbles) under scrutiny." Lumiere is accused of hoarding and auctioning Protocores, in addition to hacking hunting leaderboards. The subway attack with the Tezcatlipoca was an elaborate hoax, etc.

During all of these shenanigans, Nero finds that the only common thread he can find is the involvement of one Shen Xinghui.

04: Has The Light Vanished? : The last section of the article contains a few documents (directly transcribed below.)

"...Light Evol has been detected. Evolver's Evol limit cannot be defined. Ant attempts to probe its limit triggers a special neck suppressor, which prevents the Evolver from using their full power. The techies can't explain it. No physical form detected, no scars, and the energy suppression field acts like a Protofield anomaly. After conducting a series of experiments in the lab, the techies finally unraveled the suppressor's mechanism. They boosted its threshold and got a basic understanding of some of its mechanisms."

Immediately following this is a "close-up of someone's throat, the Evol suppressor pulsating as a vicious, constrictive red ring of light. And then, there's a bit of silver in the corner. It's a tassel earring." Nero is so genuinely distressed that his Hunters Watch keeps beeping a health warning.

Shen Xinghui walks into the office and finds Nero; upon asking if he's alright, Nero shows him the photo of the captured Lumiere and announces that Lumiere could be dead. Shen Xinghui suggests he go home, but Nero's Hunter's Watch moves from beeping to giving off an alarm; Shen Xinghui gives him a paper bag to breathe in, and says that Lumiere is probably okay now, but Nero is despondent.

05: A Little Chat: Nero's online persona has been voted onto the 'Top Ten Hunters' leaderboards.

Nero finds Shen Xinghui and tells him that he "figured out one of (his) secrets." Despite Shen Xinghui's obvious confusion, Nero tells him with great confidence that Shen Xinghui is clearly Lumiere's biggest fan. Shen Xinghui doesn't say much in response, but Nero assumes he's right, anyway.

"Pinned by QuantumSocialite Lumiere is a beacon in the darkness, guiding us to forge ahead. And I believe, with unwavering certainty, that his light will continue to shine in the future. Because there's light everywhere."

I really like Nero as a character; a sincere nerd is always nice to see. I also resonate with his reaction to the images and notes about the collar; I, too, was Extremely Distressed to find out that my assumptions/guesses about the collar were correct.

I've had an idea!

As we're aware, CDPR made an UNFORGIVEABLE MISTAKE when they made Phantom Liberty... they did not include an iconic variant of this most precious bean:

The Liberty. It's literally called LIBERTY, c'mon guys!

I've had ideas for two iconics. I'll be including them in my Phantom Liberty weapons pack of Dark Future Arsenal as exotic weapons.

As with the standard Liberty in Dark Future Arsenal, it is a Heavy Pistol (Handgun skill, 3d6 DMG, ROF 2, 1 Handed, but with the canon 14 rnd magazine).

Phantom

Phantom is an all-black Liberty, its paint is designed to be sensitive to local light levels, adapting to the darkness to make its form as obscure as possible. It will do 1.5x damage with a suppressor attached and 2.0x damage when fired from stealth. In Cyberpunk RED, this means that Phantom will improve stealth rolls by +1 when held in hand.

The Phantom's suppressor uses the same rules I've homebrewed for stealth attacks and suppressed weapons in my Cyberpunk RED campaigns.

It is suppressed, which means that provided that there are no eneemies with line of sight to the character within 25m/yds, the player will not cause a combat initiative roll if used on an enemy outside of combat. However, if there is an enemy within 25m/yds, the player will have to roll Stealth against the enemy's Perception, which, if fails, will trigger combat and force an initiative roll with the player at a -1 disadvantage.

It ignores armour if fired from Stealth (outside of combat), reflecting the video game's stealth headshot bonus whilst not being too over the top.

It has a unique scope, which will give it +1 to hit at ranges from 0-100m and will not incur the -8 aimed shot penalty (but only if aimed at the target's head). It, alongside Her Majesty, will be perfect companions for the FIA agent on the ground.

Phantom's colours and unique lore about having no serial numbers are meant to evoke the espionage theme of Phantom Liberty.

Redscreen

Redscreen is a unique Liberty with a bright red slide and black frame. It fires unique ammunition called 'Redscreen rounds' that will cause enemies to receive a -2 to all REF and DEX related checks for 1 minute. It is, otherwise, a Liberty.

The glitches that enemies see would be similar to the glitch effect V saw when Songbird uses V as a proxy to hack the Petrochem EBM Stadium in Phantom Liberty. The colours are inspired by the Phantom Liberty colours (red and black).

I'm thinking about a green and grey Barghest themed variant and maybe an all-white NUSA variant, the idea being that this was a weapon carried by Secret Service agents tasked with protecting President Myers.

These variants will not be available to the players of my current campaign, they'll be reserved for the 2077 campaign I've got cooking.

TheLreads, Vigilantes ch 103, Replies Part 1

1) “So we got McBee McDown, you know what that means, time for some McBullshit! I know, this was supposed to be a return to the main series, but honestly, considering how close we are to ending Vigilantes I’m feeling really tempted to just keep pushing forward until it is finally destroyed.”- Such tenacity, not unlike a certain faceless antagonist, who also wants this fight go all the way to the bitter end.

2) “Shame that Phelps and the rest of the people have no idea, Soga probably knows since Knuckles must’ve told him what McBee could do. Or maybe not, considering how much of an ass Knuckles usually is.”- Turns out Phelps at least took precautions against Nomura’s movement capability with electro-shock handcuffs. Pity that Nomura can side-step that by just morphing his form out of the constraints of a human body into a bio-organic slime. No nerves to paralyse in that state.

3) “I hope you mean like, they give you an electric shock to stun you, and that this is not an implication that this is a quirk-suppressor handcuff, we’re over that dream already O'Clock Tulpa”- Ironically for a Quirk-user whose power mostly manifests as electric discharges around his body, electricity is also Nomura’s fatal weakness. Can’t move fast if you can’t move at all. 4) “But Midnight, if you’re gone, who will watch the watchman?

Also, I was wondering for a while, is your quirk even gonna work on him? Does McBee even has like lungs or something?”- Well, he used to, but likely not in his slime form, unless the bomber cells still carry oxygen to his brain, which is also how Midnight’s quirk can affect him still. 5) “What is it koichi? Do your crawlers ears heard something dangerous approaching? Like a small army of exploding nomus?”- Probably wondering how Pop’s doing, given how close they are to the hospital room and all the commotion- not to mention to flying bullets everywhere – still not over that Phelps A-OK’s a civilian using random fire on a hospital. 6) “Oh okay right, cutting off his hands is an option, he can regrow them later anyway, we know that. Don’t know why he simply didn’t blew them up, I think it’d be faster.”- He’s only got so many explosions in his body mass before it becomes inconvenient for his movement, detonating that much mass he can’t reclaim, so he needs to pick and choose when most effectively to blow up. 7) “McBee I warned you, you shouldn’t be laying down while liquefying your mortal coil, it’s too easy to end up choking on your own bits of flesh”- Not a problem is he doesn’t have lungs or a throat anymore. Only thing Nomura needs is a working brain to operate his freakshow of a body 8) “A what now Phelps?

I mean, sure, he needs oxygen to keep his quirk going or he’s gonna fry his own brain, but what the fuck is a deep breathing technique? You mean like, he breathed in a lot of oxygen? My if only someone gave him a quirk to deal with that.”- It’s a technique divers use when preparing to go underwater for an extended period of time, unsure when they’ll surface again. Basically, by exhaling rapidly just before your head goes under, you free up excess oxygen-deprived air molecules in your lungs and can suck a whole bunch of oxygen-rich molecules into your lungs instead with a final inhalation, allowing you to last underwater for longer. 9) “Now what in the fuck’s name- I don’t know why AfO gave you that quirk, but it is extremely convenient he did so. Wonder if this is a side effect of the regeneration quirk, or if it is the regeneration quirk in action, turning you into a mush so you can rebuild yourself”- More like the unstable bomber cells, being so malleable, basically allow him to shapeshift his features and form however much he wishes. At this point, the only part of him we can safely say is still human is his head, and even that might not last forever if he does something like letting the cells cannibalise his remaining parts for more power. 10) “Oh good thing that this… fucking bullshit… also regenerates your clothes, it would suck for you to have to be defeated with your McBee exposed like that”- Or like Nomura wasn’t wearing any clothes from the start except that long coat. In retrospect, it’s hard to tell how much of his casual attire and hero costume were clothing and how much was his actual body.

11) “Unfortunately those ones can’t be taken down by aiming at the head. Trust me, we tried in the main series.”-Nomura however, can, and from what we see here, it’s just about the only weakness his body has left.

12) “Alright Thanos, keep acting like a prick like that and you’ll see what your fate is gonna be. Little spoiler, it’s gonna be exactly like that of Thanos.”- Koichi was listening, and immediately followed his advice.

13) “Yeah fine, go and try to use your infinity gauntlet on Phelps, a being protected by the immutable flow of fate, see how that’s gonna work out for you.”- Nomura mocked Phelps for being too slow, but ironically that in turn made him too slow to actually detonate him with Koichi’s faster reflexes in the area.

14) “OH HO HO LOOK AT THAT

I GUESS YOU FORGOT YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY SPEEDSTER HERE McBEE

TIME TO GET McOWNED”- Koichi’s so much faster and more decisive than Nomura, he even has time to set his shots to “stun” rather than the lethal attack- which I think is even faster than these softball shots to boot.

Death Battle: Grif & Simmons vs Lister & Rimmer; Who I think would win.

So, the polls are in for Grif and Simmon vs Lister and Rimmer, actually I've pre-written this so until yesterday I did not know who everybody voted for, (Though I had an idea).

With the polls now being in, I wanted to share my own opinions on this battle, because this was genuinely a really fun thing to think about, I'm a huge fan of both Red Dwarf and Red vs Blue, so digging into my memories of both and thinking about their strengths, weaknesses, arsenals, tactics and defenses was a lot of fun, however, in the end one duo had to die, and I think the winners of this battle would be...

Lister and Rimmer

"But Vaudevilledemon!' I hear some of you wanting to say, 'Grif and Simmons have actual military training, military grade weapons and armour, and have accomplished so much more than Lister and Rimmer, two normal ass looking dudes who have mining equipment."

So, let's talk about that, because the reasons I think Lister and Rimmer would win, kind of boil down to similar arguments, but let's take a look at each point separately.

1. Training Grif and Simmons have actual military training, whereas Rimmer's only experience in the military was a re-enactment society and temporarily commanding over wax-droid versions of Einstein, Stan Laurel, Elvis, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Queen Victoria, Jean-Paul Sartre, Noel Coward, Santa Claus, Pythagoras, Abraham Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe, Pope Gregory, St. Francis of Assisi and the Dalai Lama... Red Dwarf could get weird.

However, it's worth remembering that the entire reason Grif and Simmons were part of the Blood Gulch Simulation was entirely because they sucked. Simmons was too much of a coward and Grif was too anti-authoritarian, so they were picked by Agent Florida, alongside Sarge, to be part of the plan to protect the Alpha A.I. in Blood Gulch, so they're training doesn't really amount to all that much, but training doesn't mean much if you have better weapons, but do Grif and Simmons have better weapons?

2. Weapons Grif and Simmons have standard battle rifles and Magnums, alongside SMGs, and a few other weapons they picked up and have lost, like Grif's Brute Shot and Suppressor, or Simmons Rocket Launcher. However, most, if not all, of these weapons have a limited ammo supply, which they have drained through pretty quickly. "Hey Grif, you remember that one bullet you have left? I just thought of the perfect use for it."

On the other hand, Lister and Rimmer have Bazookoids, mining equipment intended to blow apart rocks, and can fire plasma blasts. These devices do not eat up their power supply as fast, and have a heat seeking mode, useful for finding heat emitting resources, or hitting a spot multiple times. Plus, let's not forget that the Red Dwarf has crates of explosives, it is a ship under the Jupiter Mining Corporation (JMC) after all, and the Boys from the Dwarf have found several pieces of technological advancements over the years, including several forms of teleportation and time travel, a matter destabilizing gun, a triplicator, a DNA resequencer, and a bio-printer.

Even if we gave Grif his confiscated weapons, and Simmons the rocket launcher, Lister and Rimmer do have a slightly better, or at least a more varied, arsenal. But Arsenal doesn't matter if they can't get past their armour, and here is the big sticking point in Lister and Rimmer's favour.

3. Armour So, Grif and Simmons have military grade armour, which is great, and gives them an advantage over Lister, who has no armour. So, it is possible for either Grif or Simmons to get a lucky hit on Lister, and Rimmer is already dead, but a hologram.

Now, Rimmer has three stages of Hologram, soft light, hard light and diamond light. Soft Light is intangible and has no real physical presence outside of the light bee, hard light has more physical properties, plus is virtually indestructible, and Diamond light is (all information coming from Tongue Tied - The Red Dwarf Fandom Site) super-powered, with abilities like Super strength, super-speed, light manipulation and the ability to make anything he touches intangible or solid at will.

So, with his hard light form, Grif and Simmons have a slim chance of taking out Rimmer, and with Diamond Light, they'd have zero chance. Even if we assume that bullets can penetrate hard light and damage Rimmer's Light Bee (Like what happened to Ace Rimmer in Stoke Me a Clipper), the amount of time it would take for him to properly die, would be more than enough time for him to deal a fatal blow to Grif and Simmons, especially since their armour isn't completely durable, like when one sticky grenade to the face almost killed Donut.

Remember, it took a long time for the alternate universe Ace Rimmer to fully die in that episode, so it’s entirely reasonable that our Rimmer would take a similarly long time.

And about all those accomplishments

5. Feats and accomplishments Yeah so, Grif and Simmons have done a lot of massive stuff, like fighting against the Meta, saving a planet from a corporation's attempt to eradicate all its inhabitants, and something to do with Time A.I. and Shisno paradoxes, I dunno, I liked Singularity but the rest of the arc was... meh. Anyway, it is clear Grif and Simmons have some major feats under their belts, it's just that those belts are also wrapped around everyone else.

Grif and Simmons often share their feats with the other Reds and Blues, like Donut, Sarge, Lopez, Caboose, Tucker and let's not forget the real heavy lifters, Carolina and Washington.

Lister and Rimmer are kind of similar in that regard, plenty of great feats, such as defeating the Inqusitor, plugging a white hole by playing pool with planets, destroying a rogue simulant ship and literally giving the universe an existential crisis, yes that happened, but they also share these feats with Cat, Kryten... and that's usually about it.

Let me put it this way, assuming that they are all doing equal lifting, Lister and Rimmer would be doing a quarter of the work while Grif and Simmons would only be doing about a ninth, and that is being really generous with the numbers. We can argue more specific numbers, but it doesn’t matter the specifics when Lister and Rimmer share the work amongst less people.

6. Ways that Grif and Simmons could win However, there are ways that Grif and Simmons could likely take the victory, so let's run through them and counter them.

A) Hacking into Rimmer's light bee and shutting him off - Simmons could potentially do this, but it would mean getting access to a terminal, which has direct access to Rimmer's hologram projection unit, most likely the Hologram Projection Suite, and on a ship the size of a city, the chances of Simmons just happening upon the floor or terminal to shut Rimmer off is low, unless he had a dose of the luck virus, but that's a Red Dwarf thing.

B) Waiting for Rimmer's battery to drain - Once he's out of power he's vulnerable, but we don't know exactly how long Rimmer's battery lasts, or if it can even die while on board the Red Dwarf.

C) Blow up the Red Dwarf - So, the Red Dwarf has been blown up before, the improperly wired Triplicator caused the ship to blow up, however, the Red Dwarf itself has no self-destruct bomb, so the only way for them to blow up the whole ship is to utilize the on board explosives, which is not foolproof as Lister and Rimmer are clever and could hide the explosives, or even plan a trap around them.

So, while I’m not one-hundred percent on Grif and Simmons taking the victory, I can still see them taking a few victories, but I think the Boys from the Dwarf would take more thanks to their craftiness and Arnold’s hologramatic status.

That really is the crux of these arguments, it’s not “Who would win one hundred percent of the time?”, it’s “Who would win most of the times?”. If you run one battle a hundred times, both sides will win at least once. So, I can see why most people voted for Grif & Simmons... even if I’m fairly certain most of them voted because they’re shipping trash (No judgement there), but for my money, I have to pick the crafty, hard to pin and much more clever smeg-heads from space, David Lister and Arnold Rimmer.

However, whether we think Grimmons would win or Listold would win, we can all agree... Venom vs Bane was a terrible match-up, right?

CZ Scorpion Evo S1…Still Relevant?

I’ve had a CZ Scorpion Evo S1 in my collection for the past 5 years or so. It was my very first dive into the realm of the PCC (pistol caliber carbine) or subgun world. The CZ Scorpion is CZ’s answer to the HK MP5 and other subguns around the world. There has even been a recent updated version that’s been hitting the shelves in the last year or so. The particular CZ Scorpion Evo that I own started out life as an 8” barrel pistol version in 9MM. They also offer a K or micro version with a 4” barrel as well as a carbine version that has a 16” barrel and a stock. You want colors? The CZ Scorpion can be had in black, FDE, OD Green as well as grey. Mine is an OD Green version. The CZ Scorpion costs roughly 1/3 of the price of the HK MP5 in the U.S. market, maybe a tad less. The difference in price between the CZ Scorpion and an MP5 clone is much less. For folks wanting a PCC but not spend the amount commanded by HK for the MP5, the CZ Scorpion makes a lot of sense. You can scratch that subgun itch for a fraction of the cost, but that savings does come at a price.

When I first received my CZ Scorpion, there were a number of items I didn’t like right off the bat. The grip angle, the stock safety selector, the trigger as well as the handguard. I appreciated the original design, but knew that things could be much better. Luckily Brownells carries a number of components for the CZ Scorpion. The first upgrade I went with was a new handguard from Midwest Industries. The handguard is fairly easy to install. The trigger was polished and a new set of springs from HBI were installed. The trigger is much better than factory, but still can be much better overall. Subguns aren’t known for having the best triggers generally speaking. Parker Mountain Machine offers a nice set of replacement safety selectors which work very well over the stock safety. The grip is the Yeti switchback grip. Magpul has also started making components such as grips, but I’ve yet to try one out.

Some time later, I decided to do a full K conversion of sorts with the shorter 4” barrel from In Lead We Trust. This barrel has both a thread end as well as an integrated 3 lug adapter for suppressor use. Of course I had to also grab a shorter Midwest Industries handguard from Brownells. Most recently I decided to file a form 1 to SBR my CZ Scorpion so that I could add a stock assembly. For the stock, so far I’m running the Reptilia Zhukov setup, but may entertain other options later on.

So back to the original question… in a world with a number of PCC/subgun options such as the MP5, B&T GHM9/APC, Stribog and others, is the CZ Scorpion still relevant? I say absolutely! The CZ Scorpion is cheap enough, but still has the quality of a world renowned manufacturer behind it. Is it perfect? No. But it’s a gateway into other PCC options down the road. And with a little bit of money, the CZ Scorpion can be tailored and refined to your likes.

Ochako Uraraka is the only omega at UA.

For good reason: omegas aren't accepted into hero schools. They aren't not accepted, there is no law against it. In fact, legally, designation cannot be discriminated against when it comes to education or jobs. However the law doesn't keep society from assuming omegas are too weak to become heroes.

So Ochako downs enough scent suppressors to cover up, lies on her application form and joins UA as a beta. So while legally, she has every right to be there, Ochako knows that she is still residing there illegally.

It's in her best interest to keep her second gender a secret. She's got her step plan to graduate UA, become a kickass pro, send her parents to Hawaii, and then break the internet as the first omega Pro Hero. But first she has to survive the next 3 years without getting caught.

I'm showing up some progress on the gun. Took some days working on it and still didn't come with a name to it

1. THE BEGINNING

At first, it started out as a line art of type 64 silenced pistol combined with some bits of colt 380 auto, specifically the model with polymer frame, the trigger was based on glock trigger but drawn from memory , the idea was to make a modernized take on the type 64 that looks less like the og gun and more of it's own thing similar to the Scorpion and Scorpion Evo

As you will see, it will look more different than what it started as

2. SHAPE START FORMING

Then I changed the plan where now it's based on the m9 instead of type 64, I picked up the colors randomly, and it came out looking good

3. THE BERETTAIFICTION

Now, it is just a funky M9 clone with an integral suppressor version as an alternative. I didn't feel satisfied with it, so I did more work on it

Also made this, which is basically a carbine kit based on recover tactical P-IX. This is how it looks for now. The rails and other details will be added soon.

4. UNBERETTAIFICTION

Here is where I started to change more bits of the design. The concept of the blocky slide started as a prototype with auto mod that works more like a MAC 10. Then, I changed my concept to make it work like average pistol. The reason was i didn't like the Mac 10 idea, so I changed plans. I did some stuff like painting some parts Grey to make it more distinguished and made new parts like the threaded barrel and extended mag. However, the hammer looked weird. For some reason, I was baseing it loosely on a soviet bullpup revolver that has the silhouette of a pistol. Didn't like how it came, so I made more changes.

5. THE COMPACT MODEL & THE SHADOW GOVERNMENT HANDCANON 🔥🔥💯💯🧙‍♂️🗣

So this one is basically a compact model with short barrel + slide and fix to the hammer design instead of the blocky shape and the weird hammer. Now, I reused the hammer design of the funky m9 because I felt like it would fit more, and now it worked, and that's not its final design because there is more to work on like making a frame with a small pistol grip and work on the sights

Made this variation for fun and given it some lore . Did some design experimenting like giving it a color gradient and a skull texture on the grip. In addition, I wanted to make it look a bit retro, but then I didn't like how it came

How to choose silicon TVS Diode devices

These transient phenomena arise from the sudden release of stored energy, generated by various internal and external sources. Common causes of transients include normal switching operations of power supplies and electromechanical equipment, fluctuations in AC lines, lightning surges, and electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Silicon avalanche diodes feature large connection points to enable high surge current handling capability. Their key characteristics include extremely fast response time and low dynamic impedance in avalanche mode. TVS diodes offer several advantages, including:

Low clamping voltage

No wear limit

Compact physical size

Wide voltage range

High transient power dissipation

However, regardless of the application, selecting specific device parameters involves understanding key TVS benchmarks and criteria.

TVS Key Terms

Before discussing how to choose a TVS, certain key terms must be defined:

l Minimum Breakdown Voltage (VBR): The voltage at which the TVS becomes transient (the device enters avalanche breakdown), creating a low-impedance path.

l Test Current (IT): The current at which the breakdown voltage is measured.

l Rated Working Voltage (VRWM): The maximum rated DC operating voltage, at which the TVS remains in a non-conductive mode (also known as the working voltage).

l Maximum Reverse Leakage Current (IR): The highest current measured during normal operation.

l Maximum Peak Pulse Current (IPP): The maximum allowable surge current the device can withstand.

Rated Power and Surge Waveform

One of the most widely recognized surge wave forms is the double exponential pulse (Figure 2), defined by its rise time (tr) and duration (tp). The pulse duration (tp) is the time for the pulse current to decay to 50% of IPP. For example, a 10 × 1000 μs pulse has a 10 μs rise time and decays to 50% of its peak value within 1 ms.

The rated power of a suppressor is the product of VC and IPP:

Pp = VC × IPP

Guidelines for Choosing the Correct Transient Voltage Suppressor

Leiditech recommends the following steps to select devices for optimal transient suppression:

1. Determine the circuit’s maximum DC voltage or continuous operating voltage, considering nominal voltage and “high-side” conditions.

2. Select a TVS with a reverse isolation voltage (VRWM) equal to or greater than the circuit’s operating voltage.

3. Ensure the TVS draws negligible current under normal operation. A too-low working voltage may cause avalanche breakdown or excessive leakage current, affecting circuit performance.

4. Evaluate Peak Pulse Power (Pp): Characterize the circuit’s transient conditions (waveform, source, and pulse duration). Choose a TVS that can dissipate the expected peak pulse power.

5. Specify Maximum Clamping Voltage (VC): Select a TVS with a clamping voltage lower than the threshold that could damage the circuit.

Unidirectional vs. Bidirectional TVS

A common misconception is that bidirectional TVS diodes are needed to suppress negative transient pulses. In reality, bidirectional TVS diodes are essential for:

l Communication applications or data lines with positive/negative signal oscillations.

l Applications requiring reduced capacitance.

For circuits with only positive signal levels, a unidirectional TVS is typically sufficient.

Operation principle:

l Under positive transients, the device avalanches and conducts in the reverse breakdown direction.

l Under negative surges, it conducts like a forward-biased diode, absorbing transient energy (except for low-capacitance devices, which must be bidirectionally connected to protect internal diodes from reverse surges).

Temperature Considerations

Transient voltage suppressors are designed for operation over a wide temperature range (typically -55°C to +155°C). For applications with specific temperature requirements, consider:

l Reverse Current (IR): Increases with temperature; refer to the datasheet for high-temperature leakage limits.

l Power Dissipation: Decreases as junction temperature rises. Peak power derates linearly from +25°C to the maximum rated temperature (Tmax); see the power derating curve for examples.

l Breakdown Voltage Temperature Coefficient (TCBV): Specified in the datasheet as the percentage change in VBR per degree Celsius.
