It's raining jql! Hang onto your butts because this is a jam-packed post. We now have three shows airing weekly on Gaga, plus several fan subbers making our dreams come true. What a time to be alive.

Takara's Treasure

I love them, your honor. This show is from the same directing and screenwriting team as Our Dining Table, so it should come as no surprise that the characters immediately endeared themselves to me. Taishin is a lonely boy still mourning the death of his beloved pet bird and latching on to the senior who was kind to him in his low moment. Takara is a reserved tsundere who seems a bit taken aback by this weird kid who followed him to university, but Taishin's sincerity and gentleness is working on him already. It doesn't hurt that Taishin is not faking his interest in the things Takara loves, that boy is an amateur botanist. This one is going to be so much fun, and almost certainly make me cry. Can't wait!

I Hear the Sunspot

These two already own my heart. I loved that we took the time to get to know Kohei better at this early stage and understand how isolated and excluded he has felt since he began experiencing hearing loss. He needed someone loud and straightforward and unapologetic like Taichi to barrel into his life and pull him back out of his shell again. I was so relieved when Taichi confronted him immediately about his avoidance and cleared up the idea that he only wants to see him when he's being fed. The joy I felt seeing Kohei laugh and finally relax and play a simple game of basketball with his peers was immense. I could gaze at his smiling face all day.

Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko

Holy shit, I love this show! We begin our story with a makeover, and it only gets better from there. Adapted from a manga, this is an age gap office romance between an experienced lesbian and the purportedly straight junior who is in love with her. Hiroko is everyone's favorite boss at work, but she keeps her private life separate, so her colleagues have no idea she spends her nights at the local lesbian bar or that before work got so busy, she was a consummate party girl. Ayaka fell for her after an act of kindness, and she is on a mission to get Hiroko to take her seriously, but her perceived straightness is getting in the way. Shenanigans ensue! This show is charming as hell and so genuinely funny, and Hiroko is an instant fav.

Bonus: Ossan no pantsu ga nandatte ii janai ka

Episode 9 has is now available on @isaksbestpillow's blog, and besties, Daichi and Madoka are getting married!!! The way I lost my entire shit when this happened, you have no idea. I was carrying on so much I had @bengiyo worried something terrible happened, but THE VERY BEST THING HAPPENED.

Ahem. This was another fantastic episode! Makoto accompanied Mika to the Random show, where he developed his very own bias and a newfound respect for the power of kpop. Mika got to share the story of how her fandom saved her in a low moment, Moe and Makoto had a heart to heart about her lack of desire for romantic partnership and the expectations he should let go of, and the entire family is getting along so much better than we could have dreamed a few short months ago. And just as the fam was headed out for parfaits, Daichi appeared and expressed his own desire for a family, Madoka took the hint from the universe and proposed, and we all collectively held our breath and cried and cheered when Daichi said yes. What a fantastic show, I really cannot believe this drama exists.

Rindou Haitani — best friends brother;

You two met about 2 months after you met Ran, his elder brother.

Since they do almost everything together, the brothers have two separate friend groups to have at least a bit of privacy.

You were introduced to Rans friends through a friend of yours and clicked with him instantly.

One time while your entire group was hanging out you spilled a drink on your shirt and asked Ran if you could wash up at his house since he conveniently lives near by.

When you stepped into his home, you were surprised to see his brother, which you didn’t know he had, there.

Because you met Ran as a friend of a friend and the topic of conversation never came up in front of you, you had no idea what your so called bestie did in his alone time and neither did you know of Rindou.

But you were positively surprised seeing the handsome younger Haitani. He just wore a hoodie and some sweatpants, yet you were overwhelmed by his looks.

When he noticed your presence he was very confused what some stranger was doing in his house. After you explained everything he showed you the way to the bathroom and left to go to his room. Soon after you left as well, but insisted the next time you saw ran That you hang out at his place.

You two started being at their place more often so you’d run into Rindou More often.

Ran didnt question anything, but you were developing a little crush. Over time Rindou started reciprocating those feelings and your rather small encounters developed into you and him talking more and completely ignoring ran. Which made him Kinde mad lol.

Soon ran also noticed the way your relationship was developing and made teasing remarks That First got Shot down by both of you until Rindou was forced encouraged to finally confessing his feelings.

Ran Haitani — Enemies to lovers;

You first met because your Little Brother was Part of a Gang That the Haitani Brothers recently joined.

With everything im Your Power you tried to talk Your Brother out of being in a gang, which didn’t work. So you showed up at the gang hangout quiet often to try dragging him home. That got people to make fun of your Brother, including Ran.

When Ran would make jokes about your efforts and that would make you Start bickering with him.

You hated him. Everything about him, everything he stands for.

He encouraged and lived the same dangerous life of your Brother, who you just wanted to protect. Why couldn’t he understand? Why did he make fun of how hard you were trying?

His Life was probably so easy That he would take Your fears as lighthearted, you thought.

One day Your Brother was nowhere to be found at the usual hangout spot. You were worried sick. When Ran noticed you and the lack of screaming toward Your Brother he went up to you to investigate.

As a bigo Brother himself he understood the situation you were in and decided to not make any unnecessary remarks and put his pride aside to help you Look for him. It was surprisingly his offer.

The two of you went around the City to spots where your Brother could potentially be at.

While you were walking it was at first silence, until one sparked up a conversation and it was weirdly - nice? He was actually likable. He made some funny jokes and listened to what you had to say.

He was so different than you Imagined. You always got the impression that he’s a brutal stupid bully without a heart, but he’s not like that at all. I mean he’s no saint but he’s Not As Bad As you thought.

Could you potentially like him?

After Your Brother was found a couple days passed and imagine who was ringing your doorbell with a smirk on his face, asking you out. ;)

Seishu ‘Inupi’ Inui — She fell first, he fell harder;

You were in the Same grade since elementary School, but never really talked.

If the math lessons were boring you again you’d spend Your Time sneaking glances at the pretty blonde. You may not know each other on a personal level, but you’ve always had a little crush on him.

Before he went to juvie no one really Knew about his Gang Life since he tried to hide it in School.

You liked his calm demeanor and small gentle smile he’d show every now and then. And even though you Never knew about his After School activities you’ve always thought there’s a tough side to him.

In the class he was Never popular nor an outsider. He didnt exactly have Friends, rather he got along with some and spend the breaks with them.

After he came back from Juvie and his secrets out everyone avoided him like the plague. They feared him.

The Same Boy you still saw as cold on the outside but warm and friendly on the inside, the Same Boy that you’ve known since he was a innocent child and struggled with English class. That was the Boy they feared.

Aside from everyone else’s reaction of ignoring him now, you were different. In Your eyes hes still the Same. You believe that whatever is going on in his live must have a reason that he doesn’t need to share with the Rest of the class.

You’re the only one Not turning away immediately when he’s just looking in your direction. And he notices.

One day you find the courage to talk to him, thinking he Must be lonely at School. And he may Not Show it but it genuinely made him very happy.

He used to Not notice you like this, but he’s always thought of you As the prettiest girl in class and may has noticed how you Look at him from time to time.

And now your kindness made him open his eyes to the absolut catch you are. The more you two Talk the More he enjoys the sound of your laugh, and loves listening to your rambles about the Most Random of Topics You’re so passionate about.

He finds himself absolutely in love.

Hajime Kokonoi — Sunshine & Grumpy;

Your Love Story happens After he Lost Inupi and eventually got over Akane.

After he parted ways with his childhood best friend he Never thought he’d find someone who’d give him the feeling of enjoying someone’s presence again, but here you Are.

You met while he was walking home after a Meeting in the middle of the night, where he even though he’d never admit it was feeling pretty lonely.

You were walking the same way After having a couple Drinks with Your Friends and noticed how tired the guy next to you looked. Being the bubbly and a bit tipsy Person you Are you asked if everything is alright. Usually you wouldn’t talk to a complete stranger alone outside while it’s dark but somehow the alcohol in your system pushed your sense of safety aside.

He didn’t answer and gave you a little side eye yet you just kept on talking, when he noticed how you were obviously intoxicated he decided to escort you Home As you kept talking to him.

He brought you up to your apartment door and tried to leave, which you didn’t let Happen until he gave you his number. He eventually gave in and tipped his number into your phone.

The next morning you cringed remembering your encounter and decided to apologize over Text.

When he saw the Text and thought about last night he didn’t perceive your talkative nature as annoying and also Kinde enjoyed it .

He texted back and so began Your friendship which formed into a relationship faster than thought.

To him you were never a replacement for anyone you were far to Special for That, you healed his wounds without even realizing and made him the happiest he’s ever been

And he knows he doesn’t Match Your Energie and he used to be very scared That you thought it was a sign he didnt like you or something but to you his more calmer grumpier demeanor gave you comfort, a place to just feel safe and peaceful. You loved him for giving you peace in your life and your heart.

And the Same for him. You gave him excitement and made him feel alive.

I said i would do it before, but since tonights opening night, heres a list of funny things my cast and crew do for the show Puffs that i find really endearing and awesome :))

!!spoilers ahead!!

Act 1

Most if the time, when the Narrator (me) is not onstage, i sit in a little nook on either side of the stage, where i read books, play with a badger plush or my pet pygmy puff (also a plush), write things down, etc. I like to hc that the nook is in the Room of Requirement :) also dw i do get moments where i go backstage and take a break

Wayne wears a jersey with a W on it at the start of the play, it becomes important later

Leanne wears a colorful tutu!

Oliver has a pair of gold glasses

Oliver is from Baltimore, much to his discontent

Snape is played by the same guy who does Ernie Mac, J finch is played by the same guy who does Uncle Dave, and Hannah is played by the same person who does Voldy. Its real funny watching them switch characters

The sorting hat is big fortune teller. I think that was used for a version of the show somewhere else but its so goddamn funny

The training wand Professor McG gives to Oliver is one of those colorful toy wands with glitter and fluid inside that makes it all sparkly

For Professor Turban, he has those red finger lights as Voldy on the back of his turban. One rehearsal they fell on the floor and broke it was really funny

The sorcerers stone that Megan throws to the narrator is just a rock the director found outside. Its really heavy, our stage manager is supposed to paint it red (idk we found the rock yesterday. The rock we usually use fell on the stage and shattered so yeah cant use that anymore rip)

Wayne does a silly robot dance when he mentions Robocop right before meeting Ginny

Ginny is played by our student assistant director, who is a redhead. It couldnt be any other way man she had to be Ginny

Wayne is really tall. Oliver and Megan are around the same size but Wayne towers over them threateningly

When Harry and Ron Mop have a fight and Oliver tries to calm Ron Mop down, at the end Oliver yells at him "How come you get to kiss Emma Watson?!"

Real Mr. Moody has a flask for his potion, like in the series

Cedric wears heart pattern boxers during the bathroom scene. He used to be shirtless but we decided to give him a tanktop cuz it was very weird

The bathroom has a sweet lil ballet segment and we get huge bubble wands!

During the lake watching scene, J Finch falls asleep and starts snoring

Also during that same scene, Leanne panics about the lake and hides her head, then peeks her head out and says "is it gone?"

Viktor is capable of breakdancing!! They do an epic breakdance after the second task!

Each character in the three wizard tournament has a theme song - Frenchy has a french accordian song, Viktor has epic breakdancing music, Cedric has an epic rock and roll guitar riff, and Harry has a silly ukelele song that sounds like a Kevin Macleod song

Cedric and Waynes interaction right before the third task is so wholesome yet heartbreaking

Right before the intermission, i cast a spell to close the curtain

Act 2

Wayne finding out Cedric is dead is the most heartbreaking thing ive ever witnessed. The actor playing him is real silly dude but he got the emotions spot on and i applaud him for it

Ernie and Hannahs sign for "no being too sad" is not all that heavy, but the two actors play it like its the heaviest thing in the planet

J Finch's fav jellybean flavor changes every night. Some of my personal favs of things he has said: "Thermal paste", "plastic", "jellybean flavor", "oh man i forgot what it was, it was really good tho"

When Ernie Mac is fake bullying Hannah so she knows the difference, Ernie says "your face looks like he-whose-name-we-cannot-legally-say" which is funny for 2 reasons: 1, Hannah and Voldy share an actor, and 2, we cant say Voldemort cuz copyright

When J Finch starts "going to the petrified place" after Wayne yells at him, Ernie Mac punches J Finch and yells at him that he cant be too sad

Every single time during the Oliver and Megan kiss scene, Oliver gets Megan's dark lipstick on his face. It is hilarious

When I throw the year 5 book (which is really heavy) to the stage manager, she has decided she would make a new reaction every night. Examples: "hey! Big books hurt!" "You throw like a Puff, AND I MEAN THAT NEGATIVELY!" "The actors are attacking!! Run, stage crew! Run! *slams the door behind them*"

Voldy has a green swim cap and tape on his nose.

When Voldy is giving one of his death buddies a show of affection, midway through he says "i hope you're loving this as much as i am", to which the poor death buddy responds "i hate it 😥"

Oliver and Megan are holding hands while Wayne is asking about grades. Wayne gets sick of it and forces himself between them, breaking their holding hands

Zac Smith is hilarious. Hes played by the same guy who did Cedric before he died in act 1. Zac Smith has so many stupid stories, like one about how he ate a magic muffin, turned into a muffin, and watched his friend who also got turned into a muffin get eaten. Another one is how he watched a magic VHS of the movie Shrek, and the donkey appeared in his home, and he was so annoying that Zac cooked him, and every day he waits for the dragon to come kill him. Most recent one was when he watched a magic VHS of a Midsummer Nights Dream, and had his head turned into a donkey, and was jealous that the donkey man is getting more bitches than him, so Zac decides he'll make his own movie - Zac Smith: the Hot Donkey. I always break character during that scene istg

The actor for Xavia is fantastic. She got that evil dumb mom vibe we needed

Right when Wayne sees Sally Perks leaning in for the kiss, Wayne quickly puts on chapstick and pops his lips. Why, i have no idea but its funny

Megan being torn about whether she should kill her friends or miss this opportunity to be with her mom is absolutely heartbreaking it is so sad :(

During the flashback to when Xavia got recruited, Voldy does the worm and Xavia aggressively flips her hair all over the place.

Voldy canonically does a Jack Sparrow run

Apparently Wayne dances during the flashback scene?? I had never noticed that i need to see that tonight lmao

Xavia struggling to open the doors is so fun. When she gives up she runs into the house, still yelling that she'll be back. Its so golden

The Headmaster falls into the pit for his death. The actor just lays in the pit for the rest of the show until the final important headmaster moment

I have never cried inside harder to a story of how Oliver turned his parents heads into oranges. The scene is so good and emotional :((

Bippy is peak comedy. Bippy is love. Bippy is life. Bippy sprints to the back of the auditorium and its the funniest shit ever

Voldy does amazing crowdwork ngl. He be asking what the difference between witches and wizards are, what the deal with British food is, and what is the purpose of boy bands (they make him want to run the other direction), it gets to the point where the Assistant Director has to take his megaphone away

All the deaths are so sad. I dont really see them all cuz im offstage during the war but when i do catch them its so sad

When Oliver returns hes wearing his scarf like a bandana. You go Karate Kid

Sally drops her glasses before her death. She funbles on the ground trying to find them

When J Finch dies, Ernie cradles him in his arms and its really sad

Bippys death goes on for like years. She just refuses to die until the songs done. Its very funny dear god

Waynes death hurts man

When Wayne arrives at the very white room two guys are holding up a white blanket and they have angel costumes on.

When the Headmaster says "see for yourself" Cedric appears and hands him a Puff scarf. I cant 😭😭😭

Voldy also falls into the pit for his death.

When i show up again as Megan and Olivers child, Wayna, i wear Waynes W jersey he had at the start of the play 😭

"Whether you're a Brave, a Smart, or a... child who vapes in the school bathrooms..."

When Oliver asks Wayna what 3 × 4 is, i act like i know how to solve it. "Oh i got this, 3 times 4, 3 groups of 4, 3 + 3 + 3 +3 is.... i dont know :)"

When i sit in the stool, Waynes arm hands me the Puff scarf. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

During Curtain Call, we all be doing a silly dance. Im dancing with Megan and Oliver, and Wayne runs on to crash the party like he does in play lmao

fma has been my favorite manga since i was a kid i'm really attached to it 😭 me and a couple friends decided to rewatch the CoS movie together and we both fell down the deep end and have been obsessively rereading and rewatching everything since then. i'm having so much fun i luv fma...

i think what really drew me in was edward himself tbh! he is such a unique protagonist, and especially at the time he was the odd one out among shounen heros—not naive and untalented meant for eternal nekketsu powerups but a boy who had always been frighteningly smart and had gone thru extremely traumatic events and whose goal as a hero wasn't to become The Best at his craft or to save the world but to fix a mistake he had already made.

i was (still am) very attached to him being disabled and how the story manages to include all that this entails (chronic pain, reduced mobility, special needs...) while at the same time engaging in really cool prosthetic design and functions and without ever making it demeaning or pithy toward amputees. arakawa was an absolute genius for how she went about ed's disability.

ed is just such a GOOD character. flamboyant and flawed and unflinchingly moral. self-sacrificing and self-hating but with a drive and devotion to overcome everything. he's a truly unforgettable character and he is insanely enticing as a protagonist in a story like fma, where every plot point is carefully connected to the overall story... like a transmutation circle in and of itself. icarus fell as his wings melted but ed keeps standing back up even with a whole leg missing, even after facing his own punishment for trying to play god. he is loud and bad-tempered and hilarious and his character design is awesome and that would've been enough to make him a fav for me but when u add in his generosity and kindness, which are so painfully obvious despite the prickly exterior, he's Ultimate Fav material. my blorbo my meow meow.

that his personal story is all about love for his brother and trying to fix the terrible mistake he made and which he will forever blame himself for (even tho everyone around him knows that he was only 11 at the time, and it's a miracle he managed to save alphonse at all, and doesn't think he deserves to hate himself for it) is just... it's good ok. it's a wonderful story with a wonderful conclusion. it suits him, his personality, perfectly. edward elric is a marvel of a protagonist.

damn it's hard for me to pick other fav characters bc i love everyone so much. i love izumi and ling and greed (both versions lmao) a lot... and scar and hawkeye and hughes... its too hard to pick.

roy mustang is definitely up there in the fav list tho. it's a bit funny because usually i wouldn't be much into him as a character bc his whole shtick is pretty much "i committed genocide but i feel bad about it" but he managed to have enough personality and flair to make himself vital to the story and extremely enticing too. it helps that everyone in fma has so much chemistry together, so his team has a lot of charisma. if mustang had been alone or even with just hawkeye or hughes i don't think he would've been nearly as interesting to me. i do think the story should've gone a bit deeper with his goals bc people tend to forget that he doesn't just want to become fuhrer, he wants to disestablish the military state altogether and make it so war criminals (including himself) can be tried legally. his ultimate goal can be seen as very selfish in that way—he wants to be made to face justice. and to the end he's not reluctant to use every tool at his disposal, including marcoh's last philosopher's stone from ishval to heal himself... that's the sort of plot point that leaves you feeling a bit sick and makes him into a character worth his weight in salt.

it's cool to put his choices next to ed's. like ed literally refused to use his deadbeat dad's philosopher's stone, which was made from people from 400 yrs ago that he never knew and who would've been dead anyway and whom hohenheim actually talked to in depth, to save alphonse; instead he sacrificed his most precious passion. and he refused to use kimblee's philosopher's stone when he almost died in baschool—instead he used his own damn lifespan to heal himself just enough not to die lmao. meanwhile, mustang, even while expressing reservations and acknowledging all that it means, used a stone made from the lives of the people he personally massacred. he is what you can genuinely call a morally grey character and that doesn't change thru the story. and i like that.

My thoughts live reacting to gmmtv 2023 mock trailers and long gmmtv rant:

- THE INTEREST : I don’t really care for Bright but this type of role fits him best. The trailer was shot beautifully but I’m over these creditor/debtor storylines very basic and overdone. Depending on how the official trailer looks I might watch

-BEAUTY NEWBIE : 98% chance I won’t be watching this one. I haven’t heard of the Korean original but it looks like a commentary on beauty standards but done in a non-critical performative way that is already overdone. I don’t know who the lead actress is but I probably would’ve checked this out if Great and Fah were the leads instead.

-OUR SKYY 2: 100% won’t be watching this 😭 All of the original shows I dropped early, never watched, and wont ever be going back to watch 💀 I don’t have any attachment to these stories, characters, or ships to even invest my time and watch this.

-MIDNIGHT MUSEUM: Most likely will watch this 👀 I love dark fantasy so I’m interested to see what this entails. There’s also some strong actors/my favs in this Gun, Tor, Foei, and Namtan. The premise and actors definitely sparked my interest. I need to see who will be the director and screenwriter.

-THE JUNGLE: 100% won’t be watching this 😭 I think this is the same team that did ps I hate you but this one looks way less interesting. Gmmtv didn’t add subs either so maybe I would’ve been more intrigued if I knew what was happening idk 😂

-DANGEROUS ROMANCE: This surprisingly sparked my interest 😭 but this definitely looks like gmmtv trying to have another bad buddy moment but make it kinda “darker/mature” I guess idk 🙄? I think PerthChimon look cute together and from what I’ve seen from them they are pretty good actors (two things which will probably carry this show just like OhmNanon did with bad buddy). I will most likely check this out when it airs.

-FACELESS LOVE: I will not be watching this. Nothing about it got my interest at all. The cgi looks silly and just overall a boring premise.

-ONLY FRIENDS: OH I ABSOLUTELY WILL BE WATCHING THIS! Seated front row with popcorn and extra butter. A messy gay ass group of friend all fucking each other’s boyfriends, one sided crushes, sex tapes, fwb, and whole bunch of other debauchery oh yes. And gmmtv’s legendary, iconic, messy gay director jojo is of course the mastermind. Need this on my screen January 1st at midnight.

-LONELINESS SOCIETY : This looks like a cute and funny romcom. They spoiled the whole show in the trailer but I will still watch. I already like Joss and Jan but these new faces really got me interested. I’m interested in all the characters and all three couples storylines but I will probably enjoy the silly gullible family most. I will definitely be seated

-LAST TWILIGHT : This one looks cute. Queer media with lead characters that have an impairment/disability are rare so I’m glad it’s represented here. I’m nervous though cause I dropped Vice versa so hopefully this show has a better screen writer. I will definitely check this out

-WEDNESDAY CLUB: This is a less interesting hetero version of only friends mixed with the college version of the jungle idk 😭 I wanted to like it cause it’s about a messy, backstabbing, friend group which I eat up but it just fell flat idk. I don’t think it’s messy or fucked up enough for me especially after watching the only friends trailer. If the official trailer looks better I might check it out

-COOKING CRUSH: Will not be watching this. Trailer was boring. Thai cooking dramas having always been a snoozefest to me also this is 10 steps back for OffGun after their mature show Not Me. Also how they gonna have Apple in this and not make her a lesbian and it looks like she dies also? 😒

-The show with Dew and Prim kinda looks cute but the story isnt interesting enough to be invested in. If the screenwriter adds something unique to the plot I might check it out

- 23.5: This looks really cute! gmmtv is finally producing a gl so of course I’m seated. I’m mad though cause they could’ve had another gl side couple instead of a bl side couple but baby steps I guess 😒

-HIDDEN AGENDA: I’m definitely way more interested in the side characters and side couples than joongdunk and their storyline. I will likely check this out for everyone but the main pair 😬

-DOUBLE SAVAGE: This looks interesting 👀 I’m not sure what happened to cause all this family drama (murder?) but I like it. Strong actors Ohm, Perth, Foei, and Film so that’s even better. I’m worried tho cause this kinda looks similar to 10 years ticket so hopefully this ain’t a recycled storyline. If the official trailer shows more of the plot I will definitely watch.

-FIND YOURSELF: Wont be watching this. The trailer did nothing for me very boring. Gmmtv’s other age gap romcom trailer Loneliness Society was more interesting, cute, and funny to me.

-A BOSS AND A BABE: This was cute. Gmmtv needed to give ForceBook a redemption cause they really dropped the ball with Enchanté. I’m really rooting for this to be good cause ForceBook are cute together and can act. Boss/employee trope is basic and overdone but hopefully they have a good screenwriter and director to make things interesting. I will definitely be watching.

-ENIGMA: This looks interesting. I like the dark supernatural thriller genre. Also, the makers of The Gifted and F4 are behind this so it will definitely be well produced with a good storyline. However, I don’t know if Win and Prim can pull off these types of roles . Them as leads doesn’t make me want to watch unfortunately, but I will try and look past that and check it out cause I know the story will probably be really good

The shows I’m most excited for and will 100% be seated for are 23.5 and Only Friends.

The shows that I’m interested in and will most likely be watching are: Midnight museum, Dangerous romance, Loneliness Society, Last twilight, A boss and a babe.

The shows I’m kinda interested in but I need to see the final official trailer to determine if I want to watch or not are: Enigma, Double Savage, Hidden Agenda, The Interest, Wednesday Club.

Everything else I’m not really interested in watching (unless changes are made) or I don’t want to watch at all.

Overall, gmmtv 2023 trailers were underwhelming and same old same old. Only 2 out of the 18 trailers really got me excited. Gmmtv also lied about next year being “diverse”. I wouldn’t even consider 23.5 a gl cause there’s still a bl couple in there when they easily could’ve made them a gl couple or even better multiple gl couples. Everything else is just hetero and BLs like every year with the same faces/couples we saw this year. Also majority of the shows are still centered around school, a couple office romances, and similar/recycled storylines.

I think Mama Gogo was the only gmmtv series this year I finished and liked all the way through. Everything else I ended up not liking, dropped or didn’t watch at all. I fear I might be disappointed next year with gmmtv like I was this year. I know Only Friends won’t disappoint me cause Jojo is behind it but everything else I’m not sure.

Also, I think it’s so dumb gmmtv announces so many series for the next year knowing they can’t release all of them cause they still need to air half of the series they announce for the current year that will get pushed to next year. Unless gmmtv airs like 3-4 shows everyday more than half of gmmtv 2023 shows won’t be aired until 2024 cause they still got like 5-7 gmmtv 2022 series that will air in 2023. That’s another reason why gmmtv 2022 shows weren’t that good cause they have to rush and push these shows out.

Someone made a good point on Twitter saying “gmmtv aren’t willing to try or test new because their redundancy is constantly rewarded. Why try to make something new when they know they can get us to eat the same thing they already know how to make. Gmmtv loves low effort stakes and we reward them for it.” It sucks that gmmtv follows the same formula every year but fans eat up their mediocrity so they really don’t have a reason to change.

Anyways I hope 23.5 and Only Friends are released early next year but I know that’s not gonna happen 😭

1) for the black eagles, bernadetta 100%. i dont talk about her often, but i loved her since i first played the game (and i recruit her everytime!!), i wish she could s supports f!byleth because i totally was going to romance her in my first CF run if i could! we have a lot of things in common, and i love how in post time skip CF she is outside her room! also when she's near jeralt's grave when he dies çwç babygirl. i love her so much. i even bought the pop parade figure (alongside with the dimitri one of course xD). for the golden deers, i like marianne a lot!! she's so precious and sad and i just want to hug her grrrr. her supports with sylvain are super cute ("cheeeese?"), i love her smile. for the blue lions, aside for dimitri... man i love them all so much! but i'm gonna say mercedes. she's sweet but also clumsy and also funny and she loves ghost stories!!! best girl :3 for the church staff, know that i love flayn soso much but i count her alongside the blue lions, so i'll say seteth. bc daddy. sad daddy. best daddy. 👀 oh, i was forgetting about the ashen wolves! i really like yuri: chaotic bisexual thief lord. what more can i say?

2) my fav moment in the game? (2) So thank you for sharing your story, even in the form of an insane chunk of tags lol. Some fics updated before canon reveal actually contain crumbs of canon too just because the author goes back and edits it in, usually names since they can't change the entire fic of course. This is the case for Hawks's name, we used to call him "Takahiro Sora(ta)" after a fic first kickstarted the name. But shortened it because birb + sky. And hawk + word that sounds like "hero"

(3) In Dabi's case, it was whatever name related to spring or autumn the author could find, I've seen Haruka used once. (Because the Todoroki sibs are named after seasons, Touya and Shouto are too but vaguely and I forgot which is which.) Their tags are HUGE and I've read so many fics these past 4-5 years, I'll have to get back to you later because not only do I have so many deadlines, but also have to look through them all again 😭 Once you have canon sorted out, do u wanna hear fandom stories?

(4) You really had to go and choose the only two mha characters (Dabi and Hawks, Aizawa is fine) who caused an absolute RIOT in fandom. In so many ways, but we'll stick to one type for now. Dabi??? We been knew who he was, but it actually wasn't his backstory reveal trending that day, it was his name, which was also revealed 100 chapters ago! Just not connected to him. We got EVERYTHING wrong about his backstory, the single thing we got right was the method which was a beloved fandom dream.

(5) And even then some of the "method" caught us off guard, I won't spoil you but boy am I tempted to ramble cause these are all my favs too lol. Hawks? We got everything RIGHT. But in all the worst ways. Every crack theory we had became canon. Everything we thought about his backstory was severely understated or we were outright tricked into thinking it was something else because of how it was drawn. It does NOT help that these two aren't often written accurate and they LIE a lot. Good luck!

(6) Also I would love to know what your osmosis journey has taught you if you're willing to share, it's always funny I want to see if you fell for the same things we did or even the same things other osmosis readers fell for. funny story with (2) actually I have seen something like this happen in the star wars fandom, specifically with Dooku. I read several fics that referred to him as 'Yan Dooku' and there is so much spinoff material that, like, I went 'shrug even though this doesn't appear in the movies it might as well be true' bc it was in multiple fics. and then was brought up in question whether or not that Was His Actual Name and it had gotten into fandom osmosis enough that it made it onto a wiki page it took quite a while for me to convince myself that no.... no this wasn't actually Dooku's name...... canonically he only had one name...... someone had just picked it up and run with it..........

but that's so fun and funny I love it, good job fandom choosing names, that's great

also deeply amused that I picked the two most Fandom Rioting characters to love this is GREAT, I would absolutely love any set-in-canon fics mostly, like, 'alternate universe -- no quirks' doesn't interest me very much bc there's less grounding into the things that I find interesting in the setting, but otherwise p much anything goes

alright so the interesting thing with 'things I learned from osmosis' is that you need to understand that I started out this fandom reading a jjk crossover fic where My Fave Character Gojo Who Has Math Powers That Are Ridiculously Overpowered and this fic was 'Gojo Is Reincarnated As Dabi He Keeps His JJK Powers And Just Gets Dabi's Too And Decides Instead Of Being Responsible For The Whole World He'd Rather Just Fuck Around And Have Fun And Kind Of Accidentally Gets Labelled As A Supervillain For This And Doesn't Care And Is Also Adopting Half Of Class 1-A Bc The Teacher Instinct Never Goes Away' but it means that a whole bunch of things that were from the initial osmosis were like.... me knowing the character Gojo and assuming things were him and not BNHA; it took my a few chapters to figure out that Dabi was actually a character and not just the hero/villain name that they decided to give Gojo throwing him into the universe (and also that all the other characters who appeared were actual characters and not OCs)

I figured out really quickly that Hawks/Dabi is a popular ship, which, like, good for them it's fun with their backstories but then exactly bc of the backstories and the ship, 100% assumed that 'Hawks goes undercover to try to infiltrate the League of Villains' was a contrived reason for them to interact. at this point I'm 95% sure that no that's an actual canon arc not just a fanfic thing

on the opposite end of the spectrum I am fairly sure that Dabi is not the lead singer of a mcr-style emo/punk/rock band but boy did y'all have me going for that one a lot

cannot tell how much the League of Villains are Misunderstood Poor Little Meow Meows who just want to Change Hero Society and Unfortunately Are Somewhat Willing To Murder To Get There and how much they are murdering psychopaths I think it's the latter but it's funny how many fics they seem a lot more willing to be chill in

also having a hard time telling who is currently dead or not as well as whether canon had a Nomu apocalypse arc and canon itself is now in some horrible everyone-barely-surviving setup or if things are more chill there but I hope y'all are having a good time wherever you are

those are most of the ones that I can think of, the rest of the osmosis has mostly been me picking up what the main events of the first few arcs are, general things about how quirks work, I'm fairly certain the reveal that One For All kills you/ages you at an accelerated rate came late enough bc there are a number of fics that are 'Izuku actually has a quirk!' that does not touch that angst at all but yeah out here having a good time mostly

Ok so I've been stalking your blog for the past couple of hrs after seeing your TadaAi posts (I'm drowning in the period drama that is this ship) and I find you ship Tododeku and rinharu (god i can't stand bakudeku and makoharu) and seems like we share a lot of our views on fandom and ships probably because we're older (I'm 22). But also these two have too much going on between them, so much wasted potential in my opinion, it’d be so interesting to explore (but sadly no xD), they were still the only interesting thing for me lolz. I love complicated morons, who became the victims of a huge unrequited requited love misunderstanding, bc they’re insecure morons lmao and they just have 2 of my fav ships vibes, so it’s probably mostly this haha.

You know, I think I’ve said it before, but when it comes to bakudeku, I at least understand what ppl hope to see there and why, but like.. it’s just not happenning. Also imagining Bakugou lovingly hugging Midoriya is just so OOC I start laughing all the time. And whatever ppl say, in any ship whether they’re enemies or rivals or anything, if you can’t imagine them being tender with each other, smth is not right in my opinion. Also once again, who needs idiotic bleating Midoriya, idk. I’m just tired of the endless “die, deku/out of my way” yelling, I like watching Bakugou going to parties and amusement parks and doing silly stuff, too. Like I’ve said before, pride won’t ever let him change the way he behaves with Midoriya, even when they’re doing “great”. If he was the one, it wouldn’t have mattered, no matter how tough you are, and it wouldn’t take that long. I also don’t think they’re that kind of relationship, like they move each other for sure, sometimes, yeah (not always in a good way tho), but be together in a relationships? Can’t imagine that. Like not all rivals have the rivals to lovers dynamic, no matter what ppl say. But I get the shipping, bc 1stly these two are playing too huge of a role in each other’s lives, 2ndly Midoriya is obsessed with him and Bakugou obsessed with him too (just in a bad way lmao) and 3rd ppl want that “enemies to lovers” dynamic, since many love it (me included, when it done right and progresses right), so they’re trying to write that “to lovers” bridge, that just doesn’t fit here in my opinion, simply bc Bakugou won’t be soft with Midoriya, like ever in a way, you’d want, and I don’t think it’s possible for them to go there.

Tododeku on the other hand, 1stly they also play too huge of a role in each other’s lives, 2ndly Midoriya is obsessed with him too and Todoroki is lovingly obsessed with him in return, 3rdly they are also rivals to lovers, and I have no problem imagining the second part, it won’t be OOC, 4thly Midoriya when he’s with Todoroki is my fav Midoriya, he’s happy, he is cocooned and he’s badass af (and like when he told Endeavor to fuck off or yelled at Todoroki “the fuck are u doing?” xD are still the best), 5thly Midoriya forgets about Bakugou, when he’s with Todoroki a lot and it’s just funny to me, 6thly they healed each other so nicely, I can’t not be into that, 7thly when they’re together I have like 0 worries, idk I’m like “he will catch him” anyways haha, Bakudeku just don’t give me this vibe. It’s like yeah, they won’t let each other die, but it’s always this chaos of “out of my way”, “I don’t want your help” and “let me punch you before I punch the villain” that I’m just “oh for god’s sake, pls bring in Kirishima and Todoroki so we could just go home, it could’ve been solved in 2 minutes” lmao. Etc, etc.

Tododeku just have too many winning points over bakudeku for me, same with kiribaku over bakudeku, even tho I 100% get bakudeku as a ship ofc. Also idk whether things would be different if Todoroki wouldn’t exist in the equation, but the moment I saw that s2 scene where Bakugou started yelling and Todoroki just ignored him and was like “was Midoriya always this good?”, there was no going back to me XD. Like they both obviously see that Midoriya is wonderful, but only one reacted to that in a way that I wanted. And I’m a sucker for the ships who don’t give a fuck and like “yeah, I find him amazing and everyone should know that”. Todoroki is also one of those guys, who if you give them the much needed love, they’ll return it tenfold with a forever devotion. And all of my fav ships are like that: Yullen, Rinharu, Mikayuu, Wangxian, Akakuro, etc. They’re like “well, I ain’t an idiot to let someone this precious go”, you know lol

On the other hand, when it comes to Kirishima, Bakugou can do all kind of ridiculous thing I wouldn’t imagine he would do to keep him or make him happy, you know. Kirishima is also the only one, who can put his arm around Bakugou without it being cut off, so I don’t make the rules here lol.

So it’s not like I can’t stand bakudeku, more of like can’t imagine this work, to me it’s easier to imagine todobaku in a relationships, but not bakudeku lolz.

But when it comes to makoharu, I just have a huge problem with it and I will never get it. Bc they don’t bring anything good in each other like AT ALL, I don’t even understand what kind of relationships this is from their shipper point of view; they give each other nothing, and one of them is totally in love with someone else and wants a future with him. And that someone also head over heals with him and also wants a future with him. And I hate how 99,9 % of mh fans don’t give a fuck about Haru or Rin whatsoever and just ignore their character’s everything. Bc Makoto. I’m also like if you love him so much, the fuck would you want him to be with Haru anyways, dude doesn’t reciprocate, like at all. I’m at confusion, like name good points of this ship and what good can they do for each other characteristically. There is none, it’s like a damn swamp. Like usually I can give my notp some points, but this is like... they’re both no good for each other... like... why would anyone even want this idk. Don’t tell me “for the childhood friends” one-sided dynamic, like why won’t you also ship Shion with Safu then, like even he seemed more invested in that, than Haru in makoharu lol.

Even if you think of them from the point of view of “the two who are always walking together” ships, that are everywhere nowdays (even tho since Haru moved to Tokyo, he was always with Asahi instead), but even if... those kind of ships are usually at least make each happy and are enough for each other. Haru on the other hand, when he doesn’t have Rin, he is walking with Makoto like a ghost, not even caring if he’s talking next to him AND he’s getting ennoyed by him. Like explain, how someone’s shipping them romantically. It’s been showed like 20 times, that with Rin, but without Makoto, he can be perfectly happy, without Rin tho, he never is.

Also someone explain, what exactly is the point of splitting up two characters, who are happy together, make each other the best versions of themselves and want to be together whole-heartedly? Like I know many start shipping smth, bc the relationships are better in the other pairing, for example, but this is like... definitely not the case here. Like what exactly is missing in rinharu, that makoharu has? Lack of progression and mutual inspiration?

So yes, if you’re into rinharu, totally finish Free! They’re like doing sooo incredible and holy shit they’re inspiring, I mean, look, they’re now the tokyo olympics ambassadors, like how many of yall gay ships reached that? you can’t miss out on them, and also they’re so hilariously romantic, they literally made a wish to swim with each other since they were 13 and did everything to get each other there, I’m.. you’re lying, if you didn’t cry watching them as chibies making wishes on a star and watching them now. One of the most wonderful development in my opinion. Like who would’ve thought back in s1, that we’ll get Haru yelling on top of Rin about how he made him want a future with him, def not me lmao and now all the olympics boyfriends fanfiction are true, I mean, idk what to say anymore. I miss them so much, I can’t wait for the movie :D

This list is getting looooong,  because I’m well and truly addicted to these shows and can’t stop watching them. 

I think its because each show is so self-contained - one series, 16-20 episodes and its done. A clear beginning, middle and a satisfying end. That, together with all the tropes in play (SO MANY TROPES!!) makes each show feel like a novel come to life. And when I start a good novel, I have to finish it in one go. This usually results in me staying up till 2am because I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS. And it’s the same with these shows. I’m getting very little sleep, but I’m having a hell of a good time!

FAVOURITES

1. Crash Landing on You

He’s from North Korea. She’s from South Korea. They never should have met, but they’ll change each other’s lives.

This was my first K-drama, and its still my favourite. The full cast of characters is great, the lead romance is ANGSTALICIOUS and its genuinely, laugh out loud funny (when its not making you cry or swoon).

Male lead: Officially the best boyfriend ever. With added dimples.

Tear-jerk factor: 4/5

2. Healer

The lives, and pasts, of a hot shot reporter, a spunky young tabloid journalist and a mysterious thief-for-hire intersect.

This was so addictive - the plot was tight and engaging, and this is one of the few shows I’ve watched where there didn’t seem to be a lot of filler. I loved the central 3 characters, and the romance was amazing. I especially loved that the male lead started off such a brooding loner, but he became super-affectionate as soon as he admitted his feelings. So many good hugs and lots of face-cradling in this one.

Male lead: Effortlessly beats up 2 henchmen while comforting his girl over the phone. What more do you need?

Tear-jerk factor: 1/5

3. Itaewon Class

A young man’s life is forever altered when he runs afoul of a powerful family.

This felt like a big step up in quality from everything else in this list, in terms of the production, soundtrack (which was brilliant), the lack of annoying sound effects, and just the overall ‘real world’ feel of the show. All of the characters were fleshed out and 3-dimensional, and they all had their ‘moment’ to shine. The story itself was gripping and so well done - some of the twists and reveals had me gasping! And what can I say about the 2 leads? I love them, both separately, and together. He is so wise beyond his years, and his journey will break your heart and inspire you. She is borderline sociopathic, but I adore her.

Male lead: Tenacious, principled, kind, innocent, caring, driven, loyal…and he can cook!

Tear-jerk factor: 2/5

4. Descendants of the Sun

A special forces Captain meets a capable and beautiful trauma surgeon. They feel an instant bond, but their jobs and philosophy on life get in the way, threatening to tear them apart.

Halfway through this show, I seriously thought this might overtake CLOY as my No. 1 fav. I absolutely LOVE the male lead character, and the romance was beautiful…but it didn’t quite nail the angst and the last minute was a bit twee which dropped it down the rankings a bit.

Male lead: A cocky, charming, absolute BADASS with the most adorable, cheeky smile.

Tear-jerk factor: 2/5

5. Love in the Moonlight / Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

A young woman poses as a eunuch in the Royal Palace and falls in love with the Crown Prince

I wanted to try something different so I opted for this period piece and OH MY GOD am I glad I did. The start had a really light comedic tone (and a lot of modern anachronisms - high fives everywhere!) and I loved all the identity-concealing hi-jinks. But then the romance kicked into gear and the DELICIOUS angst started flowing, and I became obsessed with it. It's like loads of bits of my favourite regency historical romances were mashed up and transported to the Joseon Dynasty. I loved it so much!

Male lead: Manages to look amazingly handsome despite all the period headgear, kicks ass with a sword, and doesn't allow himself to be manipulated by the corrupt officials surrounding him, which was refreshing. Also acts like an adorable goofball when he's in love.

Tear-jerk factor: 2/5

6. My Holo Love

A lonely woman falls for a holographic AI and then meets his creator...

I love the concept of this show (I’m a big sci-fi nerd), and it was beautifully shot. The lead relationship is well developed and it doesnt fall into a typical love triangle. I’ve come to realise it utilises a lot of K-drama tropes (face-blindness! shared childhood trauma!), but it does it really well, imho.

Male lead: Tortured loner genius. My catnip.

Tear-jerk factor: 2/5

7. Goblin

A 900yr old immortal guardian finally meets the ‘bride’ who will end his existence

Once I got over the slight ick-factor of the age difference between the two characters at the beginning, I really fell for this show and it’s world. It had me in tears. And I especially loved the secondary character of the Grim Reaper.

Male lead: Surprising innocent and funny for a 900 year old

Tear-Jerk factor: 5/5

8. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim

An personal assistant decides to quits her job in order to get a life. Her boss has other ideas.

I loved the female lead in this - I’m a sucker for uber-competent people, and the actress is STUNNING. Her boss is self-centred, entitled and vain...but over time, somehow that just becomes endearing! Possibly because he’s played by Park Seo Joon, who can do no wrong in my book! The central romance is super cute - I can rewatch their scenes again and again. 

Male lead: Like I said, somehow makes vanity and narcissism endearing. Also not afraid to get his shirt off and flash his 6-pack. Bonus.

9. Legend of the Blue Sea

A mermaid comes onto land to find the man she loves

The (literal) fish-out-of-water scenes in the first half of this show were hilarious - the actress is a comic genius! The romance was nicely done, and there wasn’t a lot of extraneous plot or too many characters. I couldn’t stop watching this one!

Male lead: Cocky, arrogant conman with a soft mushy centre

Tear-Jerk factor: 1/5

10. Fight for my Way

Two life-long friends decide to go after their dreams

I fast-forwarded large chunks of this (I wasn’t interested in the secondary couple at all), but it still made my favourite list because I love the leads - both as separate characters and as a couple. This is one of the best friends-to-lovers stories I’ve seen, mainly because you truly buy that these 2 have known each other their entire lives (their  bickering and teasing feels so natural). And then when they take the next step, they’re so affectionate and refreshingly open with their feelings.

Male lead: The third Park Seo Joon character on this list! I love his contradictions. He’s goofy and childish…but can really turn on the sexy charm; he’s a badass MMA fighter…who loves when his girlfriend sticks up for him and protects him.

Tear-jerk factor: 0.5/5

11. Suspicious Partner

A young, hardworking lawyer has her life turned upside down when she is put on trial for murder.

This has been officially bumped up to my favourites list - partly because I’m now a massive Ji Chang Wook fan, and partly because I’ve rewatched scenes with better subtitles and its made it 10x better. Its still overly long, but the serial killer plot had some nice twists and it was central to the story, so it didn’t feel extraneous like some of these types of plots do. I really enjoyed the central romance - the 2 characters sparked off each other well and I loved their evolution from sort-of enemies to lovers. This is another show where I can endlessly rewatch their scenes together.

Male lead: Its Ji Chang Wook! He’s so good at playing serious guys who are secretly big dorks.

Tear Jerk factor: 0.5/5

NOTABLE MENTIONS

These are shows which I completed and really enjoyed but they had flaws which kept them out of the favourites list.

1. The K2

An ex-mercenary takes a job as a bodyguard protecting the illegitimate daughter of a politician. A sort-of Snow White retelling.

This started off really well, with some amazing fight sequences (hello, shower room scene!). However, the back half became too bogged down in double crosses and manipulations, and it focussed too much on the politicians. The writers did well to give these characters some layers, but they were all essentially doing bad things for the wrong reasons, and I just didn’t care about them. The show was much better when it was following K2’s journey. The romance also started off well, but was a bit underdeveloped (mainly because they barely interacted).

2. I Am Not a Robot

A man who is allergic to human contact finds companionship with a robot…or does he?

I honestly thought I wouldn’t make it passed a couple of episodes of this - the concept was just too ridiculous. But I’m glad I persevered, because it developed some real depth and some proper good angst towards the end and I LOVED the central relationship.

3. Extraordinary You

A high school student discovers she's a supporting character in a comic book

The plot of this was so unique, and the way the comic story played out interspersed with the characters 'real lives' was really well done. Plus the central couple were so adorable. It dragged in the middle section (several versions of the same conversations were had, and the same exposition was spelled out multiple ways for no apparent reason) which kept it out of my favourite list, but it redeemed itself with some good angst at the end, and it had a really lovely ‘epilogue'.

4. My Love from the Star

Alien stranded on earth meets an actress soon before he’s due to be rescued.

I finally gave this another chance, and I’m glad I did. The female lead got a LOT less irritating, and I enjoyed the present-day romance and all the flashes back to the past. However, the ending was really abrupt and disappointing (which kept it out of my favourite list). There should have been 1 less filler episode in the middle, and a decent, fleshed out finale instead.

5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo

A young talented weightlifter experiences first love

Honestly, I wasn’t sold on this at first; the female lead was a bit much (lot of gurning and over-acting) and there was a weird disconnect between how she was described (big, overweight, manly, unfeminine) and how she actually looked (thin and beautiful!). But the back half of this show saved it; her relationship with Joon-Hyung was sooooo cute. He is adorable, and they were both so supportive of each other’s dreams. I finished this with a big smile on my face.

6. Because this is my First Life

A rational-to-a-fault software designer and an aspiring screenwriter come up with an unconventional way to solve their housing problem

When I started this, I thought it was going to be all light and fluffy (the main character's job in the beginning was to insert the product placement in Korean dramas - hello, Red Ginseng! - which I found hilarious and meta) but it had a surprisingly melancholic tone throughout and touched on issues of workplace harassment and gender roles. I didn't warm to the male lead until right at the end (which was probably partly intentional - he's very remote and closed off) but overall I found the story quite lovely. Plus it had a really great central female friendship and their conversations actually passed the Bechdel test!

7. Strong Girl Bong-Soon

A woman with inherited super-strength gets a job as a bodyguard for an eccentric young CEO

The lead couple in this are AD-OR-ABLE and I loved their relationship. But there was a weird tone issue in this show. The romance is super cute...but there’s a whole dark sub plot involving multiple women being held captive by a psychopath. I ended up fast forwarding most of that, and just concentrated on the romance.

THE OTHERS...

I finished these shows and liked parts of them, but they ultimately didn’t set my world on fire.

1. Her Private Life

A talented art curator tries to keep her professional persona separate from her fangirl obsession with a pop idol.

This was cute and I loved the central relationship - he was so supportive of her, and their interactions were refreshingly mature and their banter felt really natural. Ultimately, it was a bit forgettable (I’m not dying to rewatch any of it), and the last minute tacked-on childhood trauma subplot was really unnecessary.

2. Touch Your Heart

Star actress rocked by scandal works at a law firm to prepare for her comeback role

This starred the secondary couple from Goblin and I really like them, even though they are playing very different characters in this (more opposites attract, than doomed lovers). At first I found this too ‘cutesy’, but I’ve since realised the sound effects/graphics are a K-drama thing and not unique to this show, so I’m not as down on it as I was. I still had to fast forward a lot of the secondary romances which I wasn’t invested in.

3. Hyde, Jekyll and Me

A woman becomes involved in the lives of 2 men, who share one body

This stars Hyun Bin from CLOY and he is sooo watchable, especially as the slick-haired, glasses-wearing, uptight Seo-Jin. And the show started well...but quickly went off the rails into a convoluted, dragged-out revenge plot.

4. Melting Me Softly

Two people are accidentally cryogenically frozen for 20 years. They have to navigate the modern world and their new lives together.

Another good concept, but it ultimately descended into little more than a light work-place romance. Had a couple of good kissing scenes, but it was overall a bit forgettable.

My Secret Romance

I started watching this because I was looking for something a little less PG - the characters have a one night stand in the first episode! But I couldn’t get passed the bad acting and cheap production.

Master’s Sun

I liked the premise but the 2 leads weren’t very attractive (at least in comparison to the insanely beautiful actors/actresses in the shows listed above). Call me superficial, but I couldn’t see myself spending 17 hours watching them and willing them to kiss.

Around this time, 5 years ago, was when I first watched The 7D, and I'll tell you how I found out about it and how much it meant to me. 

It was somewhere around early-mid june 2015, aka the last days of school from 6th grade. I was in my room, bored to death because I just wanted to watch new cartoons. So I simply started browsing. But there was a liiiiittle problem... I did not like. Any. Of. Them. I thought they were either uninteresting or terrible. To give you a hint, I watched some cartoons from nickelodeon that had...nasty stuff to say the least. I was like: cartoons these days are that bad? Oh my gosh... (Mini side story, ignore if you want)

My hope for finding something new to watch was gone forever lol. I thought it'll be back when I saw Fairly OddParents again on air after like 5 years in my country. No, there were just new episodes from season 7 or 8. I grew up with FoP, but with the first 2 seasons only. Oh oh!! It's that one show I watched 5 years ago! Can't wait to rewatch it! Guess what. I found those new episodes horrible too! :) And nowhere as funny/ cute as the season 1 I grew up with... Maybe I'll watch more, who knows? Maybe it gets better, idk. "C'mon, dude, you are clearly much better than this!" And then I gave up. Y'know what? This show died. I'mma go watch season 1 later because that was miles better. Bye. (End of mini story xd) After I watched whatever I watched, I went to Disney Channel, and The 7D was on. Let's see what's this. I'm sure it won't be any better than what I've already saw. There was the Goldielocks episode, I don't really remember, but I do remember that after it, I fell for this cartoon. It was different, I really liked everything, the animation, the characters, the humour wasn't nasty like...the other shows...and reminded me of Looney Tunes or any (g)old cartoons similar. Honestly, I started my day with watching The 7D since then (I started school in the afternoon and yeah) and i was all happy n cheerful inside during the whole day. The toon really lifted my mood. The characters now. All of them are super likeable and not a single one I despise. My favourite was Bashful. During that period I used to be very shy and quiet, and I usually relate to shy characters (Like I did with Fluttershy for example), so obviously he got my attention first lol Another thing I loved about the show were the dynamic between the chars. My favourite was Grumpy and Happy's dynamic. They always made me laugh cry lmao. How could I forget about Grim and Hildy?? They were so adorable together! They reminded me of Cosmo and Wanda (in their early days on the show) as in they were sappy and always talked about how much they love eachother. I got bitter again because that cartoon got screwed kdgkfl Guess what happened when I found out about that one game on the app store? Yes. I played that game day and night lmao. Also I loved the little introductions of the chars. The love for my show got big and big, so at the end of the year I wanted to reach the fandom. And so I did. I found a lot of nice people in here! ... honestly I never expected to love Sneezy as much as I did after I joined the fandom. He was pretty popular so I was like Oh it's that sneezing dwarf that I really haven't paid attention to? I thought he's kinda cute...he really grown to be one of my fav characters. I wanted to see him do more on the show, though. I made a lot of friends in the fandom, and was also my first fandom on Tumblr. There was also an artist that drew fanart of 7D and their artstyle was so cute, and I remember I wanted my artstyle to be as cute as theirs so I just kept on drawing. And since then I got to more and more fandoms. And then I heard of the cancellation. I felt how a part of my heart broke. And I got angry, cause there should have been some 20 episodes more but they got cut because Disney had other plans. Thanks, Disney. I remember the staff got a Tumblr account and they engaged a lot with the fans, even with me. I got head over heels when they reblogged some of my posts and answered my questions. They were really nice to their fanbase! And then...it ended. Until this day I still keep on visiting old 7D posts, and get reminded of how much fun I had. And how it made me keep on drawing/ becoming the artist I am right now. It started as a relief because it wasn't as nasty as some recent cartoons I watched at that time, to something that made me cope with anxiety/sadness whenever I had it. Now I'm teary eyed lmao. I'm a very nostalgic person by nature, so I get rlly emotional of things that remind me of the past. I'm definitely gonna rewatch this show soon, I keep saying it. But it's hard to make some time because a super important exam is in less than an year for me and I have to choose wisely the college I'll go to. But when I'll do, I'll pretend I'm 12 years old again. Yeah... I-It's weird. I keep thinking, bro, I first started to watch the 7D like...2 years ago. But no. 5 years. It felt like yesterday I was 12 and preparing to go to school, and watching the 7D at the same time. So yeah, I miss the 7D. A lot. Sorry for this super long essay lmao, but I just really love this show so much. Thanks to the people who woked on 7D, the fandom and everyone involved! I'll never forget you! 💖💖💖

Favourite Doctor:  still Ten, i love 12 and 13 almost as much, even if not harder atm, but if it comes to choosing 1 fav doctor then it’s always Ten, so far no one stepped higher for me :’D I loved his era, i loved so many episodes with him, his season arcs, his companions, his relationships with everyone, and this is the only Doctor whose regeneration was smooth for me, he was continuation of Ninth Doctor and it felt like that. I was not like ‘but he is so different in so many ways’ nope, never. Maybe it’s because companions were the same, everyone was still around which was great btw, and I fell in love with the show with Tenth Doctor, dare I say that I stopped watching back then when Matt Smitt became doctor? lmao, must be shock for some but yes, I dropped this show because of THAT lmao??now i laugh at my own self but yeah, i did. where’s everyone, why it feels so different? that was huge nope. Only years later I got back into it, thanks to amazing Michelle Gomez. Actually I was not even going to watch other doctors at that moment, but I watched episodes only with Missy, then i said well it’s not bad I like it and Missy and Twelve were?? OOOF LOVES OF MY LIFE FOR SURE because their relationship were so cool and of course i loved it, so i started a huge rewatch, the first since i dropped the show. Fell in love with Doctor/Master all over again, Ten was as amazing as I remembered, Nine was perfect and I love him too!!! and then... i got to s5... oh god, i was like, let’s give him a chance, what do i lose? but it still felt so weird, and the show was so different, and suddenly everyone else is so important but where are old characters? but i got into it because i have already seen some of 12′s episodes and i got used to the style?? i guess. and then River appeared, not because of her but around episode 5 or 6 i was into it already, not as much as i was before but anyway, maybe weeping angels helped because i loved them and it reminded me of Ten, i felt some kind of a connection to old doctor. I liked River with 10, i thought i will like her with 11 too... but alas, still felt like you know those boys who have never had sex but try to act like they know everything about it and hit on every moving thing and think they do it cool? :D i am sorry if i hurt someone’s feelings with it, but that’s how 11 was for me back then, and while I do understand river/11 it’s the least of all river ships for me, 11 is still the least fav doctor because of those feelings i had back then when i stopped watching, they are not rational i know that now but still feel them, but i love him now, and will protect that kid at all costs! i love ponds, i will kill if anyone says anything bad about Rory Williams! and Amy and Rory? quoting my favorite star trek couple? DUDE WE GO TOGETHER OR NOT AT ALL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and even if i was not into all river/11 relationship i loved the story, and of course i liked 12, but s8 still feels like what the hell for me, not because of the doctor but because they tried so hard to show clara as bossy, i mean, i liked her with 11 and then suddenly they turn her into some control freak, it was not so MUCH with 11... but i know now why they did it, so Missy’s words have an effect and all. but still, i love clara before and after s8 :’D s9 clara? i will kill for her too. it’s too long but idk  :’D and actually, this shows that if you give it a chance even if you don’t like actor/actress at first - you might love the show ;) so stop acting like jodie is miscast honestly, i am ready to fight anyone for saying that :D say whatever you want about plot choices, but do not fucking act like it’s Jodie’s fault! actors are not responsible for show runner choices. She acts amazing with the material she has. anyway, 10 is my fav idiot!

Favourite Master: Missy, always was and always shall be. My favorite character in general in the show, no one tops my girl!

Favourite Sonic: honestly? i don’t really remember any sonic but 12′s glasses :D so... glasses. I mean, i don’t really care how it looks like, it does its job... most of the time lmao, but i liked those glasses and the thing with browser history was my fav :D

Favourite Companion: oh it’s soooo hard!!! either Donna or Bill. I can’t choose. but yeah, those are both with whom there were no ‘romantic’ relationship implied, i love friends more than couples. and I just loved 10 and Donna as a team and Bill and 12, i still wish they had more time. also Martha, the smartest companion lol she was amazing.

Favourite Story: anything involving The Master :D all episodes with them are my favs, but i can’t just pick one story, i still remember the first episode i watched back when it was airing and are you my mummy stuck in my head for the rest of my life giving me brrrr feeling, like it was not scary but somehow made me super uncomfortable? also vashta nerada?? duuuuude, you can’t just look at the shadow the same way. and ten/river together were really great, i mean, he did not know who is she, the mystery, i love shit like that?? yeesss!!!!! there are so many great ones. I don’t want to choose.

Favourite Soundtrack: that unreleased tiny melody when the master dies in the last of the time lords T--T and this is gallifrey and clara’s theme! those are my favs. and I also really like 11′s theme, kinda ready for adventures and doing some weird but funny shit :D

Dream Actor for next Doctor: ooooof OOOOF dude! you know what, usually it is one actor for 3 seasons, that’s how it was for the last 3 doctors, i want Jodie to break that rule and stay with us for 4th season as well, i just want to see how pissed off those haters will be lmao i really really think the entire timeless child thing will not feel the same with someone else yet, and i don’t think they will reveal much in 13th season, that’s HUGE thing, or they should make it so good and the next doctor... aaah i don’t want to feel that change again, like i did with 10 to 11, and felt with the every next doctor, but i overcome that shit and just give them a chance, it’s the doctor after all and im sure loving all of them now. not sure it can disappoint me even if most of plot choices in the season are ... weak. idk who, there are so many great actors but whoever i choose will not be as great as someone they choose, because they always somehow cast amazing people, but i agree with emily it’s time for a doctor of color! tho, they can’t go back to white male actor right now, i just can imagine how it will look like, with all the hate Jodie received and how people still whine about female doctor, it will look like they tried and decided to go back to white male doctors, one half will be happy but the other one will eat them alive! so yeah, i am pretty sure it’s not gonna be white man again yet lol

Dream Story: well, considering 13 is in jail now, i would love to see someone “we know” rescuing her, because honestly if they just showed me jack and left it like that, i will not accept it!!! but also since yaz will be the only one left with the doctor, since bradley and tosin leave the show, i hope we will have some yaz and doctor relationship development without anyone else, maybe jack could stay because i love him, but jack’s presence did not hurt doctor and rose relationship development back then, so it should not hurt now also. but if they bring someone new, at least don’t make it right away, let yaz and 13 have an adventure at least 1 episode, some talk and stuff. so when yaz leaves also... (and i kind of had that stupid feeling that yaz will die in the end, because somehow everything hints on that for me? idk maybe it’s because i rewatched and giffed orphan 55 today and vilma (?) telling yaz to run and stay alive kinda felt like something that hints on yaz’s future... and yaz is always going somewhere without thinking, to random alien ship, to save the doctor, she steps into trouble like a doctor hoping everything will somehow be ok, but im not even sure she hopes, it’s more like i am as good as her so i can do it, not in clara’s way when everything hinted she is like the doctor, because let’s be honest she was and even got her own tardis, but she thinks she is, but she is not, i think some day that might end bad for her... so when she also leaves i don’t want it be like well yeah, what’s next? i mean, i still miss Bill, that was like NOOOOOO with tears and screams for me, i loved Bill! and we had 2 seasons with yaz and i still don’t feel the same connection to any of the current companions atm, so i would like the show to make me love them more, i do love them, just not as much as those i still miss, but im sure defending any of them lmao i love them anyway. you know what i mean...

A Companion You’d like to see back: oh OH. we cant bring them back for entire season right? but doctor can meet Donna at some point, which will have no point lmao cos she doesn’t remember and it will only hurt doctor and i don’t see how her appearance will help any plot, it will be just fanservice cameo. But Bill is out there with Heather, they are powerful creatures now, i think it could somehow fit into the story, I want Bill back. But also, Clara is still one heartbeat away from death, she can be out there, and she has tardis. tiny cameos will be fine for me :D and Martha, but also Madam Vastra and Jenny, Kate and Osgood, where they are??? bring them back and it can make sense, their appearances. I mean, imagine someone from UNIT in s11, not unit itself but osgood??? it would feel so much different. 

An Enemy/Alien/Creature you’d like to see again: weeping angels!!!! OOOF they were creepy, and i love them, like, DON’T BLINK!!! how can you not blink for so long? that is cool, i want them back. and also the most beautiful shots are always with angels so... :’D

If you could travel with one of the Doctors, which Doctor and why?: oooh, while 10 is my fav, and I totally would hit on 13 :D i will choose 12, 12 from season 10, because he was such a grandpa, no lovey dovey stuff, he would lecture me on thing i do, give me new info about something, we would explore shit together and he would be like a grandpa i never had. We would definitely have long discussions about stuff and have good laugh together and i would make references to movies and then we would watch those movies :D i would act like Bill lmao yess i want to travel with 12!!!

Overall I really liked it! They weren’t as cutesy as I thought it would be but of course that’s because despite Type finally realizing his feelings and accepting them, there’s still one underlying issue: he is not accepting of the fact that it’s a gay relationship and thus only wants to keep it a secret even though Tharn doesn’t want to. I think once this issue is solved we’ll get a lot more cutesty tharntype!!

The preview: HOOOOH BOI this next episode will be spicy!!!! A jealous type is what I’ve been wanting and hopefully it will help him in finally fully accepting his relationship with Tharn and actually being okay to showcase their relationship! Since type is a very easily angered person, I think this friend of Tharn’s will anger Type to the point of like kissing Tharn in public or something!! I guess we’ll find out next week!!

1. Kenji Kishimoto - Shatter Me

He’s the absolute funniest character I know and relatable af. Without him the series wouldn’t be so funny. He’s this sunshine people rely on and don’t expect to also be down and I feel that. His language is so ”real” so unpolite.

2. Saphira - Inheritance cycle

I just.. have this feeling that I love her this much. It’s been years since I read Eragon but it’s my childhood favorite. Oh right she’s a lethal, big, sapphire blue dragon who’s both like a soulmate and mother to Eragon, and a big reason he hasn’t been killed bcuz his stupidity yet. I just love the way she sees the world and the way she speaks.

3. Aeduan - the Witchlands

Who can’t love a frightening bloodwitch who’s actually a huffelpuff with a crush. I just recently got to know him but, he has my heart. I felt so proud of him when after years of hating what he stood for learned that the future is for making your own character. I’ll stop before I start ranting haha but the confidence that comes with his gift is so amusing to watch.

4. Kaz Brekker - Six of Crows

17 year old gang leader with total cool except when it comes to inej and a brain so cunning and smart to get away with any crazy heist. That’s my shit. He became one of my fav characters ever from the very first chaper (which is actually the second, so first about him) and from there he has just kept growing. Maybe people should be concerned since he’s a criminal, but his personality has rubbed off me in a good way. His way to talk, which also sets grown ass humans freaking out, is one of the reasons.

5. Silas - Sorcery of Thorns

This book I just recently read and it’s now my fave standalone. A simple short servant with no outer flaws, white hair, burning golden eyes, who like when everything is in order. Or is he just? It honestly surprised myself that I put him here. He’s actually one of the most dangerous demons and doesn’t care about human lives. But I just love how polite he is, spilling his master’s embarrassing moments, the swiftness in his power, sass, and wow the small moment when he smiled

6. Damon Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries

If I and my sibling have a favorite character in common, it’s Damon. His sass and sarcasm was the first thing I started to like, and then he just carved a place in my heart. His story has broken my heart so many times, made me smile so big with tears in my eyes, wow the rollarcoaster. Especially the TV show. He has such a big heart for the people he care about and so genuine, which might be weird to say about a vampire who kills how he wants.

7. Aaron Warner - Shatter Me

THIS MAN guys, is boyfriend material through and through. I love him with such a fierce passion I don’t know what to do somestimes. He was just an abused boy and neglected by his father who fought everyday to protect his position as a leader in a world that was determined to go to hell and fell desperately in love with a dangerous and outcast girl like himself. He has made mistakes, and maybe haven’t handle things in a good way but he’s learning. He talks about things as a matter of fact and omg I just love his remarks. And boi is he passion personified.

8. Manon Blackbeak - Throne of Glass

We love a badass queen. She’s such a strong character who doesn’t give a crap what people are saying and never apologize for what she stands for. Not to mention she’s a witch, my witch-heart instantly took a liking. A bitchy character from the start but while she learnt actual friendship and was given a big baby wyvern she grew so much, and also broke free from a home based on abuse and too much play on pride after she uncovered truths she was ready to face, and sis did do it with style.

9. Magnus Bane - Shadowhunter cronicles

Centuries old bisexual warlock who throws glitter and sexual sideremarks everywhere and birthday parties for his cat. He has been in way too many books to capture him enough perspectives. He’s so freakin sassy, n cool, n ONE OF A KIND. I just find him so intriguing and lovable and his character was the reason I made it through the TV show (don’t even get me started on the show I just consider that outside the fandom)

10. Zeno - Yona of the Dawn

This little baby is such a precious soul. He was just a teenager when the Yellow Dragon gave him his power to protect the Dragon King and country. Since that he had been forced to see and feel the king die, likewise his three dragon brothers and his wife from sickness and age. Leaving him to wander the earth for +2000 years alone until the spirits of the five dragons would be reunited, and has probably tried every possible way to take his life, cuz that’s not a life you’d want, to never die. He has sacrificed so much and been broken, but despite that, he’s a cheerful sunshine with a never faltering smile who gives joy to the others and acts like the child he is. I just gave you his life story but it’s one of the reasons he became so dear to me.

Skyrim, Diablo, Undertale, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, Undertales, Dragon Age, God of War Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, Earthbound, etc.

Played West of Loathing just so he could rip on it but actually ended up loving it and spending way to many hours playing. Then he found out there was a game called Kingdom of Loathing by the same creators and went down that rabbit hole as well.

He was iffy about getting into JRPGs but then Virgil convinced him to play Persona 5 and he absolutely fell in love with the music!

All the music in his phone is either from musicals or Video games!

Also really likes choose your own adventure games like Detroit: Become Human, Life is Strange, and Telltale Games

So much video game merch! Usually figurines because he likes to make little shelves and display cases for them.

He also really likes multiplayer games because he’s a social butterfly and likes to play with his squad.

Sucks at first person shooter games but still willingly plays Fortnight or Call of Duty or Left for Dead with his friends because he doesn’t want to be a drag and complain. But also they sometimes die in game in the most hilarious ways and it just leaves everybody wheezing.

Yes, he’s played all the Five Nights At Freddy’s games. It’s a good series and it isn’t his fault the fandom is bat shit crazy and full of ten year olds! Fuck you Roman!

Every time the Walking Dead comes out he knows he’ll end up crying by the end of it. He and the squad make and event out of it.

Japanese horror games are usually his favorite because they deal more with the psychological aspects of horror instead of the jump scares

So, yes, he’s also a fan of Corps Party and Fatal Frame

Also really good at first person shooters because he has a really steady hand (you usually have to when playing horror games least you want to restart the level) and it pisses Roman off to no end every time Virgil randomly headshots him.

Usually likes to by merch in the form of posters, t-shirts, or beanies. He only buys figurines if it’s a game he really, really likes.

At first didn’t know why people kept bugging him to play Doki Doki Literature Club but then he finally caved and...oh...that’s why.

Logan Mill

My boy loves puzzle and strategy games yo!

Legend of Zelda, Portal, Tetris, Unravel, World of Goo, Inside, Limbo, Pokemon, Shadow of the Colossus, StarCraft, Command and Conquer, Age of Empire, Heart of Iron, World of Warcraft, etc.

He likes Overwatch but doesn’t like playing with people online so he usual solos or asks the others to play. But that too usually ends in chaos.

Hates rage games because he gets frustrated easily and has broken at least four keyboards and two controllers

He still plays them anyways because he can beat it damn it! Just give him a minute!

Enjoys the God of War series despite all the mythological inaccuracies

He plays a lot of Minecraft to relax or destress and has build beautiful works of architecture and sometimes entire cities.

He thought it was stupid and childish and was embarrassed about it for a long time until the squad came over to his house one day uninvited and caught him playing. He was getting ready for them to make fun of him but they instead gushed about how AMAZING everything looked and how TALENTED he was for building all himself.

Logan ends up showing them how to play afterwards and they work together to make weird sculptures and complex tunnels underground.

He likes practical merch like backpacks, coffee mugs, pencil holders, notebooks, ect. as well as a few t-shirts and novelty ties.

Silly dating sims, farming games, and any cute game really! Plus a few side scroller games!

Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Slime Rancher, The Sims, Dream Daddy, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Monster Prom, Hatoful Boyfriend, Scribblenauts, Night In The Woods, Ni Nu Kuni, etc.

Big Nintendo fan!

He made the mistake of playing Doki Doki Literature Club without reading the warning tags and regrets it immensely...still a good game though.

He did the same thing with Huni Pop but that one made him laugh more then anything and he kind of got addicted to it. Then he found out there was a sequel called HuniCam so he went down that rabbit hole too.

He likes a lot of phone app games too like Cut the Rope, Neko Atsume, and Candy Crush.

Loves trashy dating app games, he thinks they’re so funny and cheesy

He was addicted to Mystic Messenger for a long while

Just because he has his preference doesn’t mean he won’t try other games too, Logan got him hooked on World of Warcraft (though really he did that to everyone), Virgil showed him Hollow Knight, and Roman suggested he play Undertales.

A lot of first person shooter and combat games!

Doom Series, Super Smash Bros, Mortal Combat, Halo, Fortnight, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Half-Life, Team Fortress, Destiny, Wolfenstein, Bio Shock, Splatoon, PUBg etc.

Patton was the one that introduced him to Splatoon and he won’t admit that it’s actually super fun.

Doesn’t mind story driven games and RPGs but he really just wants something he can zone out to and relax

He likes to troll people online, mainly assholes picking on little kids who just want to play.

He once teamed up with a group of kids on Call of Duty solely for the purpose of collectively kicking the asses of this groups of so called “real gamers” that were being jerks.

Has memorized all the combos! He doesn’t have time to sit and look up a cool finishing move, he needs it now!

Always mains the weakest/most useless character in fighting games and still manages to kick everyone’s ass.

Doesn’t have a preference in merch and usually grabs whatever he likes be it figurines, t-shirts, posters, plushies, or whatever, so long as he likes the game it comes from.

Absolutely fell in love with Shovel Knight when it came out!

Duncan was the one that introduced him to Cuphead and the usually play it together and see how far each of them can go without dying.

The game is difficult but the art is still so breathtaking!

He always gets everybody hooked on one game or another

He convinced everyone to play Undertales so for like a month they all went through a HUGE Undertales faze.

Was the actual, ACTUAL one that showed Duncan Cuphead because he knew the dork would be reminded of Emile because of the animation and would want to show it to him and play multiplayer (*cough* subtle matchmaker *cough*)

Is up to date in all the gossip of the latest games and consuls, indie or mainstream! He’s in the know, know and if you need to know something chances are Remy probably knows it.

Weeds out through all the indie horror games for Virgil and recommends what he thinks are the best ones.

Same thing with Logan and his puzzle games, he’s usually is able to find very strange ones and Logan seems to likes those best.

Obviously has a lot of merch in coffee mug and thermal form as well as a few key chains.

Occasionally streams on Twitch with Duncan and Emile (sometimes inviting the main squad too), they’re commentary is usual hilarious.

It’s a pretty laid-back anime overall so I can understand that it might not be some people’s cup of tea, but it’s one of the most beautiful, well-written, emotional series i’ve ever had the pleasure of watching and reading. it’s one of my all-time favourites and i can’t recommend it enough for people who like:

found family

supernatural slice of life

strong focus on family and friendship

next to no romance whatsoever

trigger warnings for: child abuse, child neglect, mentions of child physical abuse, mentions and a few depictions of death (not very detailed however), lots of alcohol abuse from one of the main characters (however it’s played as a light-hearted, funny thing and this character never hurts the main character in any way, nor is he a violent drunk) 

fav characters: natsume takashileast fav characters: matoba seijifav relationship: natsume and nyanko-sensei. nyanko-sensei is the one person that natsume never has to hide anything from, and the relationship between them is really touching. natsume’s relationship with his parents is a close second however. fav moment: i have a lot, but i really liked that one episode with the youkai who liked to hide in trees and scare natsume when he was a child, and one day it transformed into a cat and snuggled with him. i love how natsume found it again all those years later just to apologize to it because when he was younger he didn’t understand that it was just trying to make friend. i love that feeling of relief from the youkai when it sees that natsume is in a much better place now, that he met people who were kind to him and gave him the love he needed, and i love how this youkai was jealous that nyanko-sensei gets to be by natsume’s side all the time. this episode/chapter really shows how much natsume has changed over the course of the series, and how blessed he is to have found the fujiwaras, and i think it would’ve been really nice if the tree youkai could have joined as natsume’s other bodyguard. it would have been funny to see nyanko-sensei get jealous because all of natsume’s friends think this new cat is definitely a lot cuter than his other ugly cat.headcanons/theories: i like to headcanon that natsume starts his own exorcist clan in the future, but in the same way that tsuna runs the vongola, you know what i mean? natsume doesn’t exorcise youkai unless it’s absolutely necessary. it’s always a last resort, and he always tries to reason with the youkai first and try to find out what the reasons might be for it to cause trouble for the humans. unpopular opinion: matoba’s a real creeper and i can’t understand why he’s so popular with the fandom. if you ship him with natsume, fuck you and do not interact. same with anyone who ships natsume with natori.how’d you find it: this is one of those rare series where i actually found the anime before i found the manga. it’s one of my longest-running fandoms, since i’ve been in it for well over a decade now, since even long before i got into khr. back in the days before crunchyroll even had a premium, i was looking for new series to watch and i came across natsuyuu, and fell in love with it from the very first episode. the rest is history!random thoughts: natsume is growing an army of youkai children, and i’m sad that other than kogitsune, we don’t see the others (tama, kirinoha, kai, and the towel girl) more often.
