a song that reminds me of them the REASON it took me so long to answer this one is precisely because I am so picky with songs and it took me FOREVER to get to this one but I finally got the right one: Be Yourself - Audioslave Even when you've paid enough Been pulled apart Or been held up Every single memory of The good or bad, faces of love Don't lose any sleep tonight I'm sure everything will end up alright You may win or lose But to be yourself is all that you can do I actually love this song so much and the entire Out Of Exile album reads Iceman to me in different ways but this one? It's this one.

what they smell like I think it's a common kinda-canon/fanon thing with the coconut scented stuff because it shows up in the movie??? Won't say I don't subscribe to it but I'll add further: I think once my mans gets over smelling axe bodyspray or some random tropical shit because it was the easiest, closest available thing, I'll just say he favors the sweet-scented stuff. Coconut, pineapple, cinnamo, cardamom, orange if we go further but mostly remaining on the sweeter side of the aisle.

an otp Yeah we all know I'm down that IceMav train but I WILL say Iceman/Slider is almost right up there for me. Almost, though. Because I just love Icemav way too much. They're meant to be, your honor. They're rivals, they're insane, they're at each other's throats 36 years down the line and love each other so much. I WILL write about it.

a notp Don't think I've read anything with Ice that physically made me recoil but as per usual: Ice with the younger folks just is a no for me because ~I don't see it~. I've recently been presented with a couple of those possibilities and it wasn't for me!

favorite platonic/familial relationships Ice/Slider (when not a ship) OBVIOUSLY, that's his brother, that's his best buddy aside from Maverick, that's his sweet cheese, that's HIS BOY. Also Ice and Goose!!!! Everyone forgets they went to school together!!! They were friends!!!! And yet again I'll die on the Iceman/Hangman hill that no one want to hear from me but I WILL die on it.

a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with oh boy. There's quite the handful of them but I think the most... like, how do I put it, it's just sort of a fanon consensus thing that Iceman is a full rule-abiding stickler/is somehow detached from things and I just. Disagree. I think Ice to ME reads as truly 'lawful neutral' - he follows codes and abides to things such as honor and respect but by HIS OWN STANDARDS. He also happens to have goals (i.e. rank climbing, etc) and knows what he needs to do to get there, so of course he's 'ice cold, no mistakes' when it comes to flying, because it makes him good. And he needles Maverick about being dangerous and leaving people behind but doesn't actually calls him out on his rule-following issues, he calls him out on behavior. I think people confuse those. So much so that in TGM Cyclone says Maverick wasn't even originally CONSIDERED for the list of whoever would teach the squad but Ice dragged him there because they needed someone who could: think outside the box & believe themselves able to pull off impossible features. No one, not even Ice, who flies within a strict ruleset could do it and that to me is the greatest strength between Iceman and Maverick. You've got Ice as a guy who allows himself to be limited by rules and regulations in a way because he has a goal and you got a guy who doesn't have the same goal so those same rules would limit him. And yes I rambled I THINK ABOUT THIS A LOT OKAY.

Scarab squints at you for a minute, giving the energy of almost being downright offended on Nyxie's behalf from the question. But then he looks side to side, and leans closer with a lower volume.

"..if you'd really like to know: I'd personally say it was when she tried to run down the stairs of the Time Cube for the first time.. forgetting it has no railings. (For this) the gay Cas headcanon is (in my opinion) very one dimensional and almost always trivializes him to the point where he's not anything outside of "the gay angel who's in love with dean" - or to put it another way, it reduces his character to simply being an accessory of the ship, or dean, and ignores all of his complexities, growth, struggles, etc

(This is not worded particularly well, but you get the point)

fullheartedly agree. i feel like most time when I come across someone gay Cas truthing, they're always reducing Castiel down to who he's in love with and making that man Castiel's whole identity and motivation for everything he does/is (most often this man is dean ofc). Not to mention the whole gay cas thing erases Cas' canon love interests.

i get most inspired listening to music!! most of my fics come to me in the form of maladaptive daydreams while listening to music tbh like entire paragraphs will appear word for word in my head but normally i’m not within reach of my laptop or able to write when that happens 😭 sometimes i’ll type stuff out super quickly in my notes app if i’m able but most of the time i just try and keep it in the back of my mind for later

this is going to be like. a generic answer but just anything that truly reminds someone of me! i like when people go “this made me think of you” because they know it’s something i like whether it be aesthetically or because they’ve seen me with something similar etc etc if that makes sense… i think i’m a very detail oriented person so sometimes when i’m out and about i see things that i know very innately my friends would like or that they’ve mentioned liking before so i like the idea of someone doing the same for me ^_^

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

FIC WRITER BURNOUT/WRITER'S BLOCK ADVICE BY A TIRED ASS BITCH!

Ride out the burnout/exhaustion without guilt. Guilt makes it a lot, A LOT worse and honestly drags the inability to write. Sometimes you just need a break and that's okay! Just don't feel guilty about it! Give yourself a break and be kind to yourself. The more you beat yourself up going 'I should be writing' and 'I need to write more' and all that, the guilt won't help you feel better, you know? It's alright to just.... not do it for a while. Let yourself rest, sometimes all you need is time and that's okay!

Do other stuff that might reboot the brain? I go for a run listening to music to feed my maladaptive daydreaming but also doing dull stuff such as cleaning and house chores, or even some cooking which I love, kinda helps to like... it's boring enough that your brain comes up with stuff for a distraction.

Seek out inspo in places? Listen to enough music, watch something related to what you really wanna write (i.e. mafia fic? mafia movie/series, etc), kinda like.. if you're looking for specific inspo, try tapping directly into the source.

I also love getting inspo from others, bouncing ideas, finding someone to get excited about my ideas and getting excited about theirs helps me a LOT. Might be a me thing but just talking about it, even if I have no idea where an idea wants to go from where it is, sometimes just jumpstarts things again.

Starting something new! LISTEN, I KNOW, I KNOW. But sometimes nurturing a new idea, small or long, whatever it is, it can even be insane or bonkers or so so boring/normal (see: I usually do random prompts, sometimes they're fantastic, sometimes realistic, etc), it gets the juices flowing.

Honestly, in general.... I find out being anxious/angry/guilty about having a block just kinda makes it worse and then it lasts even longer??? So being kind to yourself and allowing your mind to rest is a good first step! But also some projects won't go ahead and that's alright, grant yourself some grace if you never go back to it or have no ideas for a long time.
