I need everyone as a society to view the Hitcher 1986 for what it is and that’s a GAY horror film. It is very concerned with homosexuality.

Personally I view it as Jim’s journey (maybe real probably fake) with accepting his sexuality (cuz he’s questioning and then gay by the end imo)

are we listening to gay hcs about the thing? because i have only one ship in that movie and i want it to be heard. (summary/tldr at the end)

this is kind of like the debate between frodo and sam where a true platonic friendship is shown between men and they both have this deep sense of trust and platonic love for each other and you almost don’t want to touch it because of how well it was done. but also they should have kissed.

i think that the relationship between macready and fuchs was like that. before mac was ever the head of the outpost fuchs pulled him aside to discuss with only him blair’s findings on the dog and splitface. he had known the danger they posed to him and his fellow men, that the thing singles out each victim and will only reveal itself when alone, and that both confirmed things were still alive.

fuchs is a very smart man and distances himself from any others who may be infected, but places his trust in macready. this could be for the same reason that he is elected the leader toward the mid point of the film, just that they trust his judgment and cool demeanor as a vet, but that doesn’t excuse fuchs literally going out into the snowcat alone with macready where he’s at his most vulnerable. you wouldn’t just bet your life on something like that if you didn’t know for absolute certain he was human.

i think its most likely that the two have a history together, in the platonic sense at the very least, and fuchs knows and trusts macready the most. which is where i fall into the pit of gayness.

fuchs may not trust macready at all.

fuchs may launch himself into these one on ones with mac because he would rather confide in an old friend rather than someone else who may well be a thing, but also because he would rather die at the hands of macready/thing than live in uncertainty that his one confidant could be working against him. this works in tandem with what theories have sprung up about his death.

after fuchs and macready have their chat on blair’s notes a second time in fuchs’ study, he goes out to investigate a silhouette. from there to his point of death there’s no evidence of the circumstances of his death other than his charred remains.

i don’t doubt a thing could maneuver a flare but also who has been using the firepower the whole movie? the outpost. then nauls (i believe is who makes the suggestion) and mac both theorize that fuchs was the one with the flare, with different outcomes (“maybe he tried to burn it” “maybe he burned himself before it could get to him”).

now this part is gonna get funky because i’ve heard this theory before but it doesn’t add up just right.

the prominent theory for fuchs’ death is that he found macready’s torn up clothes (establishing that he is probably a thing) and then burned himself alive. fuchs was found right outside the outpost. the jacket was stuffed into the furnace in macready’s shack. odd. until you add the narrative.

macready’s jacket was found with burn marks. (its implied) no one has been in macready’s shack for several days. no one has used the furnace in several days. fuchs found macready’s jacket after stumbling outside, wherever the thing may have planted it. after finding out that his closest friend on the base, the one who the entire outpost trusted to lead them and who he trusted with the knowledge on how to prevent assimilations, was one of them, he couldn’t handle it. he didn’t want to live with his mistakes in a world of paranoia and uncertainty, and wanted to die a man. he set himself on fire with the coat still in hand, but quickly tossed it away so it could be found by someone else to serve justice to the thing that killed macready, thus the burns on the coat.

YOU SEE HOW THAT SOUNDS??? fuchs only ever entrusted macready with new information that could then be passed down to the rest of the outpost, spent at least two scenes in a place alone with him, then burned himself alive when he found out mac was (maybe) a thing. and i didn’t even have to TOUCH the way that the movie is a metaphor for the AIDS crisis to prove how gay they were.

i need to write a fic from a gay fuchs perspective because i have a lot more subtleties i want to add to his character and i think that would go hard. make ME go hard if you know what i’m sayin

I'm gonna say it strait up, the similarities to helpy are killing me. Me and my online friends have been talking yesterday all day about if this is their child. And in conclusion. Yes, yes it is. (Not canon, just a funny little thing I thought was cute) the teeth, the color of the fur, honestly just the fact that Freddy and Bonnie are confirmed to be in a relationship, maybe they did had a 'child' maybe. Fine, okay, I'll be honest.

I don't like the coffee theory. ALRIGHT? I SAID IT. While I think it's definitely an interesting theory, I don't think it fits. Plus everyone is saying,

"There's even a miracle noise when he drinks the coffee!" ...babe- I've rewatched that episode an unhealthy amount of times, no there isn't. Unless I have selective deafness, there's no miracle sound affect when he drinks the coffee-

So while yes, the coffee theory is a good idea and would be nice in thought towards the whole of ineffable husbands, I don't think it's what's happening. Now, if someone wants to write something separate with the coffee theory, hit me UP because I would read the hell out of it, but I don't think it's realistic to say that's what's happening in good omens.

That's just a theory, though. A GAY THEORY.

i’m a 21 year old queer woman (?) and i’ve been out since middle school, i was very lucky to grow up in a pretty safe and accepting environment. i’ve had one serious partner, two if u count a middle school “relationship”, and a few fwbs in college. recently my sister, an 18 year old cis straight girl just started dating for the first time and almost immediately had boys lined up wanting to be her person. and she found her person without having to look too hard. and i’m so happy for her but i’m also a little jealous.

why can’t it be that easy as a queer person? to go out and meet people and not be nervous to flirt or date or find your person with that feeling in the back of your mind that it won’t last. i think there’s a lot of inherited/generational trauma as a queer person when it comes to relationships. this idea that queer people don’t or can’t have relationships like straight people because there are so many contributing factors to the way we have to move in the world to keep ourselves safe.

i’m proud to be a queer person and wouldn’t change it for the world. but sometimes, for fleeting moments. i wish i was straight and i don’t know how to reconcile that feeling within myself.

Hi, I saw one of your latest posts talking about the gender "segregation" where you state that women's only spaces shouldn't exist. So, if that was actually real, do you think me, a cis lesbian woman, should I be using a changing room or a bathroom used also by people with penises?

I would feel very uncomfortable being naked near someone who is biologically a male and I have the right to say no, no matter how they react, cis women's feelings matter too and nobody can tell me when I should be uncomfortable, same thing goes for sports, cis women could get physically hurt if a biological male played against them and this had already happened in a school in the US.

I do not care about people's disgust when it comes to means of segregation. Do you think that during the 1960s there was no white person who felt uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with someone with dark skin when desegregation hit bathrooms and locker rooms? Do you think there's no white person who feels that way now (hell, a big reason American suberbs are a thing is that it allows white people to live in white only places post civil rights laws)?

How is your desire to feel comfortable through segregation any diffrent? There is a group you feel uncomfortable with in a space so you want it segregated, I suggest you either not use that space or find a way to be more comfortable. Society may have a responsibility for you to be safe, but there is no responsibility for you to feel safe.

And do you think nobody wants to be segregated away from you? You're literally a queer person, there are people who do not want you in public because of the exact same uncomfortablity with you. You probably have way more in common with trans people than most cis people do. If many people were allowed to remove what makes them uncomfortable from society, you would be forced into the closet. This isn't a hypothetical, the same people pushing for removal of trans people from society have same sex relationships as their next target.

Uncomfortablity is not something society can or should protect you from.
