My friend was watching the show for the first time and they brought up a misconception that I think we see a lot in fandom. So I want to talk about The Gamblers Den and specifically this scene in particular:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My friend genuinely wondered what Hua Cheng would do and then when they heard his explanation they were even more confused:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They basically messaged me saying, wait Hua Cheng would have made the bet. He bets people’s lives and some how Xie Lian is okay with that. How???
And to anyone else who’s thinking the same thing or falling for the Demon King vibe Hua Cheng is trying to sell here I am here to tell you, you have all been duped.
What’s import to understand is that Ghost City actually came from making one of Xie Lian’s ideas work:
Tumblr media
Xie Lian is talking about a specialised market here, a place where the common people couldn’t just stumble into without reason and that’s what Ghost City is and The Gambers Den is the foundation of it. While Xie Lian didn’t say hey go gamble, Hua Cheng is taking a risk and playing into his greatest strength and then showing of for his crush is the most dramatic way possible when talking about it.
For Hua Cheng the house always wins! Literally. Or at least what he wants the bet to be will always happen. His luck is just that good. If the gambler wins it’s genuinely because Hua Cheng let him.
In the Den he is acting as Judge and Jury with Xie Lian as his moral code but he can’t just turn down the deals. If he does then these people could go to less safe options (looking at you Qi Rong) to get what they desire which negates the reason he built Ghost City in the first place.
Hua Cheng has to let these people play by his rules if he wants to follow his Gods wishes. So he has to be creative and look at loop holes, phrasing and Xie Lians most important teaching finding the third path.
For this moment specifically giving the options I think Hua Cheng would have taken the 20 years of his daughter’s life. Why you may ask? Well the phrasing is easier to manipulate. While the eradication of his competitors is pretty well laid 20 years of his daughters life is pretty vague.
Option 1) Hua Cheng could take her away from her shit father and put her in an apprenticeship and marry a man of her choosing since her hand is now her own to decide since Hua Cheng doesn’t want it.
Option 2) She has to work in Ghost City for 20 years and is married to Yin Yu in name only (because Hua Cheng can’t have a wife at all or he won’t win Gege) then gets pleasantly divorced and giving a severance payment after 20 years.
Option 3) He could decide life is a vague term and after she dies she has to spend 20 years in Ghost City and matchmake a future marriage between her and another ghost.
Option 4) He could decide what she has to do with the next twenty years of her life which could include an actual good marriage and education. Where she has to worship his shrine and be only his devotee for 20 years.
Option 5) He can literally say I’ll collect when I decide and never cash in.
He can do anything because the wording is so fluent and for Hua Cheng debater and Civil God Killer it’s probably easy. He’s not a demon king, he’s a crafty trickster spirit basically a fae lord.
He’s playing the system and he’s winning that’s what Xie Lian figured out and why he supports it. He knows Hua Cheng well enough even back then to trust that he would make the right decision because he believes in Hua Cheng and he’s right too.

what if megumi's mom never died?
WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR JUJUTSU KAISEN MANGA!!!!!!!
(I’ve been thinking about Toji x Megumi’s mama so much and I decided to make a long rant about an AU where she lived! I’m not Gege, so take this with a grain of salt.)
To start off, it is canon that megumama was the only woman that Toji ever ‘truly gave himself to’. She made him a better person, and her death highly influenced him to do the actions we see in canon. That being said, if she was alive, ‘hidden inventory’ would be pretty boring. Toji wouldn’t assassinate Riko, and would ideally be working a random job in an office to provide for his family. However, Haibara’s death would still occur, and unfortunately, Geto would turn to the dark side. Geto was born cursed to begin with, and there are so many other factors besides Riko’s assassination that drove him insane.
Gojo’s personality had a significant change after Toji attacked him in canon. Since Toji never attacks him in this AU, I like to think his personality would be slightly different than we see now. Probably more annoying/immature. He also might not always keep his limitless technique on 24/7.
Megumi’s cursed technique would still be here in this AU, and therefore he still is Toji’s winning card against the Zenin clan. Toji likely would have more children with megumama as well, so there is a possibility of having other children with powerful cursed techniques. However, Tsumiki and Megumi would have no knowledge of one another, since Toji wouldn’t have married her mother.
Speaking of Megumi, he’d be a happier teen, and have a good childhood since he has both parents, siblings & an overall stable family life. His personality would be very different! I like to think he’d be a little bit more like Yuuji or even Gojo. In canon, he thinks his parents left him, and he had no one to rely on, which is why he behaves the way we see. In this AU, it is the opposite.
I believe Toji would allow Satoru Gojo to mentor and train Megumi. Megumi and Gojo would likely get along very well. Toji would form some what of an alliance with Gojo. Additionally, Toji would definitely train Maki & help her reach her highest potential. Toji & megumama might even take care of both Mai & Maki, knowing how cruel the Zenin clan was to them, and they all bond over their hatred of their clan. If Toji chooses to take both the girls under his wing, the relationship between the sisters would have been much much much stronger, and Mai likely wouldn’t have died.
In this AU, Sukuna and Kenjaku are still lurking and scheming. Therefore, Shibuya & the culling games & everything after would still occur, but certain things would just be a tad bit different. For example, Granny Ogami wouldn’t bring Toji’s soul back from the dead, and he wouldn’t wreck havoc. There is a 50/50 chance of Gojo being sealed. It doesn’t matter much though, because he will eventually be unsealed anyway.
If Toji interferes in the Shibuya battles that take place, there is a slight chance that deaths could’ve been avoided, such as Nanami & Nobara. However, the deaths of some characters seem unavoidable, such as Principal Yaga, Mechamaru & Grandpa Zenin. There is always the possibility of Toji dying in Shibuya too, but let's say that he survives Shibuya. Characters would still be heavily injured from Shibuya: Inumaki losing his arm, Maki & Nanami getting burns, Nobara & Nanami both losing an eye.
Since Mai is alive in this AU, the Zenin clan massacre likely would not have occurred. Megumi & Naoya would still fight over the position of the new clan head. With Megumi having support from Choso, Toji, his siblings, Maki, Mai, Yuuji, and literally so many more people, Naoya wouldn’t even be a problem & Megumi would win in a landslide….Therefore, the Zenin clan would go through vast changes, now that Megumi is in control, and has the help of Toji/Maki/Mai.
Sukuna likely would not have been able to possess Megumi. Instead, it likely would’ve been Yuuji’s body or maybe one of Megumi’s siblings (if they have special cursed techniques) bodies that Gojo is fighting in the current arc. Without Megumi/Sukuna’s shikigami, Gojo would have a much easier time defeating Sukuna. It won’t be easy to save the vessel while defeating Sukuna (we don’t even know currently in the manga what is going to happen…), so the chances of Sukuna’s vessel dying are 50/50.
After defeating Sukuna, the group likely would go after Kenjaku, and most likely return victorious. Gojo would put Geto’s body to rest once and for all.
Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen would be a bit less dark and would have a somewhat happy ending with most of the characters being alive (although some of them are not in good shape, but who gives af at least they are alive).
That’s it for now, let me know what you guys think!

Prompt - Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji in the 15-year old selves's bodies
I just had a thought. imagine WWX and LWJ transmigrating into an alternate reality (which is pretty much the same, but events changed there do not affect events in their world) as their 15-year-old selves; and for half a day, they both think it's an individual thing; and then Wei Wuxian sees Lan Zhan, and can't control his words, "Oh my god, Lan Zhan so cute!!" and Lan Wangji is like "Wei Ying (fond) is adorable too."
and they both sorta have that look and realize they both transmigrated; and it's so funny because by the rules of the array (or whatever), they can't tell anyone where they are from, or about the future (like they can only personally act differently and suggest actions to other people, knowing very well they hold little power to cause systemic changes, just two nails in a machine, but well, what are they if not always trying).
and this time, Wei Wuxian doesn't punch Jin Zixuan "but Lan Zhan... I really wanted to," But he does say a grand choice of crass words that get him punishment with Lan Wangji again, who's forcibly out of his seclusion and in classes.
And in classes, Lan Wangji sits in front, ever the dutiful while Wei Wuxian sits behind him; sleeping, talking, flirting, writing notes; and Lan Wangji doesn't reprimand him as much; and when Jiang Cheng says rude shit to him, the Second Young Master Lan glares at him and everyone is so confused.
and they have punishment together in the library and it's just... Wei Wuxian courting Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji courting him back.
Exhibit 1:
"Lan Zhan, my hands really, really hurt from all this copying :(("
"I will do it."
"Hehe~"
Exhibit 2:
"Er-gege, I really can't go on without alcohol. Please."
"No."
"You said you'd never deny me, your husband."
"We are not married yet in this reality."
"So, our marriage is limited only to one realm? Only our reality? So, I'm a young, virgin, unmarried boy?? Are you abandoning your husbandly duties?"
"..."
"Fine, then we are not married. I won't even ask! I won't marry you."
"... I will take you to Caiyi. You can drink there. Do not drink with others in the dorm."
"And in the Jingshi?"
"..."
"Are you denying me my marital home? You said it was our home!"
"Alright."
"Hahahahahahahahahaha"
Exhibit 3:
"Er-gege, let me sleep."
"Wei Ying, we are in class."
"But it's 6 am. Er-gege, I'm not even alive right now. I've been dead and I was more alive when I was dead than now."
"..."
"Please hide me from your uncle. I really can't keep my eyes open."
"Did you not sleep well?"
"How can I sleep??? Next to Jiang Cheng! Without my husband to hold me??"
"..."
Exhibit 4:
Wei Wuxian is messing around in the creek in Cloud Recesses when someone shoves him lightly. He doesn't fall but his hair opens and his ribbon disappears. Everyone laughs but then Lan Wangji walks over, stands behind him, pulls a red ribbon out of a sleeve, ties his hair up while asking him if he's okay and casts an icy look at the guy who shoved him, pats his head and leaves.
Jiang Cheng: "what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck"
Nie Huaisang: "OH. UM. uhm. Uh. Wei-xiong..."

Sarah jie jie, In Blossom rec or no?
this is a real tough question to answer hooooo boy where do i start??
i mean, for starters, the premise of the show is actually really fun, and i like it a lot so far!! let's talk a little about this:
(spoilers for the first 2 eps in its entirety which covers the background/setup of the story)
Tumblr media
this is yang caiwei. her dad was a minister who was framed for one thing or another, demoted, and subsequently murdered. she was disfigured in the process, and ended up in the city of heyang where she grew up to be a corpse bearer training under a coroner.
yang caiwei has been betrothed since she was a little girl to:
Tumblr media
pan yue. this boy is the son of a concubine so his relationship with his dad is very meh. when yang caiwei's family got into trouble, pan yue's dad quickly cut off all ties with them. this led to yang caiwei being turned away at the door p harshly when she came to pan yue for help. pan yue himself though has loved her since he was a boy, and has been looking for her for 10 years!!
ANYWAY these two find each other. he wants to marry her. ofc he does!! she's his 白月光, and he wants to love and protect her!! he's disowned his family so that he can do this, he is ALL IN BABY. he's only found her again for all of 10 minutes and he's already planning their wedding in his head lbr.
she is calm and composed and v sensible because of the way she had to grow up. this whole thing seems too good to be true, and also she might be harbouring some ~feelings over the way he just cut her out of his life when she needed him the most. the yang caiwei she is now just wants to live her life as normal.
the chemistry is 😘 at this point, and i am so invested in their relationship. at this stage, i was still thinking she was the second female lead and was like. huh. this is going to be one of those shows where i'd ship these two more than the official couple i guess??
anyway enter:
Tumblr media
shangguan zhi. sister of pan yue's best friend, who is obsessed with pan yue, putting it mildly. she also has this ~thing about her own physical appearance - essentially, she thinks she needs to look and act perfect to be worthy of pan yue's love. this involves a lot of witch doctors and v unhealthy dieting and scrolls on how to smile the perfect way and walk the perfect way. y'all get the gist.
shangguan zhi hears that pan yue is getting married (to someone ugly at that!!!) and loses her shit. she decides the way around this so she can be with her yue-gege forever is-
(you guessed it!!)
-body-swapping with yang caiwei, and pushing yang caiwei (and also the shaman who actually helped her with the swap) off a cliff so that nobody ever finds out.
to her credit, it actually works!! she swaps bodies with yang caiwei, and marries pan yue.
what she didn't account for was being murdered on her wedding day.
ANYWAY. the actual yang caiwei, now in shangguan zhi's body (😭), survives the fall from the cliff, rushes to the wedding with the intent on stopping the wedding and getting her goddamn body back, and reaches just in time to kinda sorta witness shangguan zhi's murder.
cue her thinking that it was pan yue who killed shangguan zhi (she knew the whole wedding thing was too good to be true) and pan yue thinking that shangguan zhi had something to do with yang caiwei's death (after all, she was obsessed with him and had a whole fit over him wanting to marry someone else).
everything about this premise was *chef's kiss*. give me a bucket of popcorn and some comfy pillows, i can watch this all day.
EXCEPT.
except my dudes shangguan zhi (and subsequently yang caiwei-in-shangguan-zhi's body, let's call her shangguan caiwei for now) is played by ju jingyi. 😞 zhhz played yang caiwei TOO WELL my friends, so that when jjy took over, shangguan caiwei felt like a whole different character. it's a bit difficult to reconcile yang caiwei and shangguan caiwei tbh, which made watching the third ep onwards a bit jarring, especially after zhhz set the character up so well.
it's not like......fatal to the show. i mean. i went in expecting nothing from jjy (rightfully i think 😑) and i wouldn't say i am disappointed by it just because i was prepared to be ehhhh about her going in. i'm still watching the show mainly because i like the plot and also, and this is a big factor that i truly cannot stress enough:
liu xueyi looks so good in this show hoooooo boy
Tumblr media
look at this!!! is this a face i would suffer 30+ episodes of jjy for??? apparently it is!!
tl;dr: love lxy + like the plot + dislike jjy = still watching and will likely finish the show. is it a rec?? conservatively, i'd say soft yes??? i mean. a huge part of me watching this show is because i'm entertained by the shenanigans, 😍 over lxy, and daydreaming about an alternate universe of the show where we have zhhz instead of jjy as the female lead. it's not something to watch seriously though!!

Just remembered out of nowhere that Hua Cheng seriously jumped right in and cosplayed a bride and groom with Xie Lian before he even remembered to introduce himself. And it's not like he thinks Xie Lian is stupid, he thinks Xian Lian hung the stars, so idk how he thought this was going to play out in the long term. Like, later, Xie Lian effortlessly unmasks him even when he is actually trying to disguise himself, I desperately need to know what judgment he has passed on himself for his little 'omggg gege it's like we're getting MARRIED' adventure. Like, I know that in general, he's flailing over Xie Lian way more than he lets on, but B R O

Hello, I have a couple of words for you.
I think your shipping of Geto Satoru and Gojo Suguru is a disgusting defilement of their characters, and your persistence on a queer reading of their characters ruins all of their character and platonic chemistry. You queers ruin all media.
bro at least the queers get their names right 🥴🥴🥴 you homophobed so hard that you deadass married them 💀💀💀
give this a read, and let's see if (against all odds) you can develop a critical thought about who's really ruining their characters. you sent me the most homophobic ask on valentines day about the two most clearly queer-coded people in recent media, which is such an astoundingly idiot move that it's almost impressive.
you really thought you said something, huh? maybe i'll fuck your dad and give him a child he'll actually be proud of 💀💀💀
(also, you're clearly late to the party— gojo and geto are confirmed queer; gege told me himself. here's the proof)

Yandere! Megumi Fushiguro and Stepmother! Teacher! Reader
Tumblr media
had this book idea for a while but i never acted upon it adaejhuef warning: mention of sex and yandere behavior. no curse au
You were a teacher at Akutami High, a school founded by a man named Gege Akutami. There was a rumour about the founder transforming into a one-eyed cat at night but that's another topic. You were an English teacher at this school, and even though everyone in this school are great students, there is one student you couldn't get your mind off of...
Megumi Fushiguro.
He always hung out with Itadori and Nobara and excelled at academics so... What was the issue? Well your co-worker, Gojo Satoru, was concerned for him. He told you that he felt something a little off about his demeanor, even insinuating he might have some mental health problems. You also notice how he would always stay in school after classes were over. Making up excuses like helping you with paperwork or anything he could help you with.
You paid close attention to him. He is a student in your advisory class... it would be wrong to not be concerned for your students. On one afternoon, you approached him after class hoping he would confide in you. He did and he told you about how lonely he was at home and how his father is never home. You felt sorry for him and reassured him that you were there for him, like a second parent, like a mother figure.
But he didn't see you as a mother figure...
When you initiated a parent meeting with Megumi's father, he shockingly came. You scolded him for his parenting and told him to spend more time with Megumi. You honestly don't know how it happened... But ever since that day, Toji started to like you and even courted you... In the end, you became his girlfriend.
Why the fuck would you date him? After everything Megumi planned for the two of you...
"...Y/n." Megumi spoke out, you hummed as you played with his hair. His head was resting on your lap, ever since you started dating Toji, you usually came to their house which made you even closer to Megumi. You see Megumi as your son, so with your motherly instincts, you gave love and affection like any mother would... But... Too bad he had misinterpreted it. Megumi convinced himself that you loved him too, why else would you show him so much love? You're probably just dating Toji to get closer to him... Its true that you love him... But not in the same way as he does.
"I have something to say to you..." He added. "What is it?" You ask, your soft voice was like music to his ears. "I love you." He spoke out, your eyes widen, which made him feel a bit nervous with what you were going to reply. He mentally let out a sigh of relief as you looked at him with a small smile, "I love you too Megumi." You chuckled, but that wasn't the reply he wanted... He felt as if... That reply was what a parent would tell tell child... He hated it. "I love you, I want to marry you, I want to have sex with you, I want to have children with you, Y/n." He repeated, your hand quickly stopped playing with his hair.
You removed your hands from his head, you slowly push his head away from your lap. "W-What... Haha... T-thats n-not a funny jo-joke..." You were in disbelief, and this reaction greatly upset Megumi. He was disapointed that you didn't love him the same way he did... But no worries, he'll make that happen sooner... Or later. You slowly got up from the bench, "I-I need to go-" you were cut off by him grabbing your wrist. "...Where are you going..?" He asks.
You didn't know what to say as you just froze there, your breath hitched as his grip on your wrist tightened and he pulled you close to him. "You're not going anywhere."

For eight hundred years, Hua Cheng searched for Xie Lian. He must have burned a million sticks of incense in that time, just hoping even one would reach his god.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/35412889
Xie Lian develops amnesia after Wu Ming dissipates. Wu Ming drifts after him, reforms, and takes care of him.
———
“You went through… some awful things,” Wu Ming says, obviously choosing his words carefully. “I think your mind is responding this way to protect you.”
Xie Lian nods. That sounds realistic, with what he knows. “I still wish I could remember,” he sighs. Does he have a family? Friends? Does he have duties he’s neglecting?
“If gege will let me,” Wu Ming says, “I’ll stay with him until he remembers.”

Deep in the heart of the city of ghosts, a chisel breaks stone. Alone in the candlelit studio, Hua Cheng bows over the remaining boot and chips away slivers of veined marble. The sculpture is nearly finished, has been for weeks. The details he cuts into the lower foot now are so fine as to be invisible if viewed from any further away than a single step.
Above it, ornate robes are swept back on a frozen wind and a sword halfway from its sheath cuts across the sculpture’s waist. With its weight perched on the front foot as if a breath away from leaping and the candelight rosy across its cheeks and brow, the sculpture looks as if it is only a heartbeat from life. Except—
Hua Cheng takes a step back, tilting his head to survey his creation from toe to brow.
A blank face stares down.
•••
Hua Cheng emerges from Mt. Tong’lu looking for someone he cannot name, cannot place, cannot picture. For centuries, he chases fragments of memory—until he stumbles upon a cultivator in white who might be the answer to the questions he has carried for eight hundred years.

Every year, a ghost king roams the night in search of lost souls and leaves only destruction in his wake. Every year, Hua Cheng's temples are burning.
Or: a story in which Xie Lian is a Devastation, Hua Cheng is a Heaven Official, and nothing is what it seems.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/28339443
Wearing a face that is not his own, dressed in a red tunic and simple boots, Hua Cheng comes face to face with the love of his life - and forever after - for the first time in two hundred years.
Or, the one where Xie Lian is also a ghost.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/21228929
“You,” she snarled, like she would say ‘garbage’ or ‘trash’. “You, of course, will never marry. Who would marry a monster, ah?”
“As if I want to get married anyway,” he mumbled angrily.
***
A story in which a ghost is very, very gay and very, very in love - so much he follows along without a protest when the object of his eight hundreds years old affection decides to get married out of the blue in the middle of ghost hunting mission. After all, it’s not like Crimson Rain could ever refuse anything to His Highness the Crown Prince of Xian Le anyway.
Or: a fanfanfic of Naamah_Beherit’s ‘take my hand, take my whole unlife too’ from Hua Cheng POV.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/25199491?view_adult=true
Have you ever read Book 4 and thought, "Wow, this is really fucking sad. Wouldn't it have been great if things had gone just a little differently?" Do you love Wu Ming and wish there had been more of him in the novel? Are you a fan of pining, slow-burn, and hurt/comfort tropes?
If so, then this might just be the fic for you~
https://archiveofourown.org/works/24323563
After a shocking experience with his god on Beizi Hill, San Lang must process the blossoming new layers of his feelings for Xie Lian. If he's truly lucky, then he might even be able to make himself useful to his treasured person.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/18980143
The man standing over him has eyes like knives, sharp and cold and black.
“There are no masks allowed in the Ghost Fortress, Heavenly Official,” he says. His voice is polite, but it too contains knives.
Hua Cheng can appreciate that. A blade is a blade is a blade. Sheathed or pressed to one’s neck, it is still just as sharp. There is no use pretending it is anything otherwise.
The man in front of him is a blade held up to Hua Cheng’s heart, though perhaps he does not know it yet.
Here are the recommended fics, put it in an ask so it’s easier to deal with, please enjoy

Thank you so much for all those recs of Hua Cheng POV, I am so grateful for it, I already read half of them! Seriously, thank you so much!!!

How to Write a Gojo x Reader?
My sister one day just woke up and chose violence: "hey how would you write a Gojo x Reader?"
Tumblr media
So let me get something straight: I take Gege's words pretty seriously when they say: Gojo wouldn't be loyal. So she's (my lil sis) just here to mess with my head.
That being said: I did come out of it with something. I'll share my process at the end. MasterList here !! SPOILERS For anyone who hasn't seen JJK0 or Season 2: Hidden Inventory!!
You work in a second-hand bookstore - cafe. The cafe owner got married to the bookstore owner and they just made it into a combo thing. It's in an area they walk by often enough? Like post missions and school and stuff they just walk by normally.
It's most likely Nanami, Geto, or Ieri that drives the party into the bookstore. Though in Nanami's case I think it's more Haibara noticed he seemed interested in the place and suggested it to everyone.
You're younger than they are by at least a year. Gojo definitely calls you a kid. "What the heck are they doing employing a kid?"
When Gojo buys something from the store, "this kid's going to be taking your money now."
"Cheeky brat."
"Takes one to know one," you make a face at him.
"Where's the manager?" Gojo makes a show of leaning down from his human-skyscraper height. "I want to complain about the horrible customer service."
"Now now Satoru, don't bully the store clerk," yeah you definitely like the guy with the bangs more.
You'd like to say you don't see much of them after that, but Nanami and Geto, and therefor Gojo by extension, show up a few more times to the bookstore and cafe. You get along well with Geto and Nanami, and argue a lot with Gojo.
You do deal with a lot of second hand books though, so some books that come in have curses on them. Coincidentally, it's when the Jujutsu Tech students are all busy that these cursed books come in and the different curses start festering and growing. They become enough of a problem that "accidents" start happening. You still go to work daily though, because you've miraculously managed to not be a victim of any of it.
Though you did have mysterious scratches and bruises and you don't know how you got them.
No fatalities, but some really close calls. Like a bookshelf almost crushing a few people.
When Gojo and Geto hear about these incidents when they get back from a mission, they're like: hold up we know that place. They choose to go personally and are almost alarmed by how bad it was. Sensing the presence of sorcerers the curse gets violent and that's when you develop the ability to see curses too.
Gojo doesn't have the time to teach some kid about these curses, so Geto is the one to comfort you after experiencing what you did. He starts checking up on you regularly (with Gojo in tow) after that experience with how shaken you were. He's very sweet, and you're young, so you develop a bit of a crush on the dark-haired boy.
Let it be known Gojo picks up on it immediately and starts tagging along just to antagonize and tease you.
Things change drastically after they fail their mission with Riko.
While they're both shaken up, Geto is still Geto, so he feels duty bound to check in with you. You asking both him and Gojo for curse self-defense advice, helps him a bit. That being said, when he's lost and drifting about, you do feel it on a subconscious level. Your conscious brain doesn't catch up fast enough unfortunately. You are, as Gojo, put it a kid.
Given Gojo's Six-Eyes, he's actually the one who first figures out what you can do. Geto's the one who does most of the instructing because Gojo's not the best at it.
You're a weird kind of normalcy. You're not a sorcerer, and they don't advise you to be one, but you can understand what they do to a certain extent. As a result the three of you kinda bond over all sorts of things.
After Geto snaps and Gojo is looking for him, he comes by the bookstore, concerned about you, though you were almost a sorcerer at this point. He honestly feels relieved to see you.
"Is everything alright?" You can feel it in your gut that something is terribly wrong. "Sugu-kun came by the other day and you weren't with him."
"Suguru came by?"
"Yeah, he came by to say goodbye, because his mission was going to send him away for a very long time."
Gojo's shock is visible on his face, "did he do anything to you?"
"No?" You frown at him. "Sugu-kun would never."
Gojo looks so torn by those words and you're so confused by what's happening, but Gojo just leaves without saying a thing.
After his falling out with his best friend, he avoids the bookstore for a bit...until his feet take him there one day.
"Satoru!" You look at him with so much concern. "You're still alive!"
"Hah?" He sneers. "Of course I'm still alive! I'm the strongest!"
"Yeah, yeah," you roll your eyes, "so um, have you heard anything from Sugu-kun, is he okay?"
"Is there anything new on the cafe menu?" You're taken aback by how he doesn't even answer your question.
Again on a subconscious level you know something's wrong, but you're struggling to put it together. So you just tell him about the new sweet that you really like that's been added. Then reiterate your question for him to respond to. He ignores you again and goes and buys one for him and one for you.
You've barely taken a bite into the treat when he speaks up, "Suguru's a curse user now."
You look so surprised.
"That's the mission, he was talking about," Gojo takes a bite of his own sweet, but his expression is sour.
-_-
Gojo continues to frequent that bookshop you work at, probably chasing the memories of the time when it was the three of you. You opened up to him more after what happened with Suguru. That being said, your tongue only got sharper with time, and so did your sass.
By the time you were in your last year of high school, you had each other's numbers and talked regularly.
"Well would you look at that squirt?" He'd tease. "You're going to join the adult world soon, but you're still as tiny as a kid."
"Everyone's tiny in comparison to you Mr. Tokyo Tower," you roll your eyes, "how is the weather up where you're at? I get the feeling the difference in altitude is affecting your ability to think."
As you both grow into adulthood, Gojo, given he makes much more money than you, starts insisting you meet up in expensive places he knows you can't afford to flaunt his wealth in your face. He is inviting you to treat you though.
The first time he pulled this on you, he went about gaslighting convincing you that the fancy decor didn't mean anything, and that the place was perfectly within the budget on a university student...until the bill showed up and you panic. He laughed so hard, it disturbed the other patrons, and even brought tears to his eyes, heck his abdominal muscles were sore. He paid for the whole thing afterwards, don't worry.
He couldn't get you to meet him at any place he picked for a while after that.
"My job pays really well, what's the problem with me treating a friend?"
"Well this friend can't repay this kindness so easily and feels bad about letting you have something against her."
"Eh?" He looks kinda pouty. "You really think I'd really be that petty?"
"You are."
"I'm here being generous and treating you to fancy foods you can only dream of tasting and you're being so mean."
"You've just proven my point, Satoru," you sigh, "I don't want to be a friend that only takes without giving back."
He's more amused that affronted by all that. He wasn't exactly trying to put you in his debt.
"Would you consider becoming a jujutsu sorcerer then?" He hums aloud. "You could repay me that way."
"Weren't you the one wailing about how I'm pretty mediocre and weak?" You questioned. "Wouldn't I just die on the job?"
"Ah good point," he teases.
You throw him a dirty look.
"Then," he looks at you intensely, "when I ask you for a favor, don't deny me."
"Depends on the favor Satoru," you're careful with your answer.
"Then at least, make sure I'm very high on your priority list," he says flippantly, "after all you're super lucky that I even give you any of my attention."
"Oh yeah," you sarcastically reply, but you're smiling, "thank you so much for gracing my insignificant self with your great presence."
You both laugh at that.
You do try to give back in some way. You accompany him, you give him teaching advice where you can. You celebrate his birthdays. You let him talk about Suguru. You didn't judge him after he told you he'd killed Suguru. You mourned him together. You said the things you thought he was thinking aloud for him. You didn't attack him when he feigned indifference. You did push him a bit. You tried not to flinch when he blew up in your face though. You stood there like an anchor, but he could see the tremors you held back, and you couldn't keep your tears contained.
You were terrified of him in that moment. You stayed because you wanted to be a good friend. He walked away without a word when he was done.
You accepted his invite a week later, he treated you to a fancy sweets place again. He was back to his usual self then, joking and poking and everything. This was his way of apologizing without apologizing really.
You knew better than to feel special to Satoru though.
You were only ever friends. After all, the one you'd had a crush on was Suguru. You wouldn't deny that Satoru was a beautiful specimen though.
But as a beautiful specimen, he was more interested in people who came close to his beauty. Which was why you were often his "women-expert". You did a shit job of it according to him.
"Satoru," you said it in such an exasperated tone, "each person is different."
"But there are some things that are shared over all!"
"Yeah, we want to feel loved and appreciated," you responded, digging into the parfait he'd gotten you, "but that's common to men too."
He clicked his tongue at you.
"If you want to properly pursue a lady, you need to closely listen to what she's saying."
He'll show you the texts they'd exchanged with absolutely no regard to your sanity. It's absurd what you're seeing. It's also hilarious how bad he is at this. Gross as what you were seeing was.
"It feels like neither one of you is serious," you leaned back, kinda disturbed by you'd seen.
"I'm not looking for anything serious."
"Then why are you asking me for advice?"
"It felt like fun."
"Why do I put up with you?"
"Because I feed you."
"So I'm a stray?"
"Hehe pretty much."
You laugh for a moment, "if you really believe that I only hang around you because you treat me, I'll punch you."
"Go ahead, I won't feel a thing."
"Fair point," you thought about it for a moment, "I'll have to figure out a different way to show you how upset I am with you thinking I don't value you as a friend."
You're not Suguru...but you're still his friend.
Tumblr media
I'm tired so I'm stopping here. If you want to see more please let me know. I did have some ideas for the Shibuya arc.
So for the thought process: I felt like with Gojo it's either a one and done or it's just angst. You don't get a happy ending this guy. It'd get messy...Gojo is lonely. Look at how he's frantically and desperately trying to collect and train more strong sorcerers. I think he could have feelings for a person, but he'd be the one to be guarded and stuff them down. He's the strongest after all.

Before You Go-Jin Itadori x Reader (Jujutsu Kaisen)
(A/N: Why did Gege draw almost all of JJK dad's attractive dilfs?! Anyways I've decided to write a short fic of Jin Itadori one shot since others have simped over Toji. Don't think anyone else thinks Jin is attractive, nobody requested this but I decided to write this. Let me know if anyone wants part 2, though it's already being planned. Also, should smut be included or not? Let me know JJK fans.)
Tumblr media
Summary: Jin and You have been friends since childhood, final exams are coming up now determining both of your futures. You're crush on Jin Itadori is known to everyone, so you make it seem like you haven't studied for exams for spend time with him. It's Christmas Eve when head to his home and a decision is made when you're both alone.
"Reading that book again, Jin?" I blush when the pink haired man with glasses focuses his eyes back on me when he decided to close the book he had. Taking a small break from it.
"Finals are approaching, (Y/N). I gotta give it my all pass the test, you know how my father will be if he finds out I didn't pass."
I chuckle at him always becoming worried when it came to exams. "Don't stress yourself too much, Jin. You're the smartest guy in class, and the smartest man I've ever met."
Jin pouts while looking at me as he fixes his glasses back in his nose.
"You want me to help you in studying, don't you?"
I chuckle and try to laugh it off but saw a small smile spread across Jin's face when I sat back down with him and nudged my shoulder with his, leaning a bit too close to him.
The cold didn't bother me a bit if it meant I could get close to Jin. The weather was getting chilly since it was December and snow had fallen a dew days ago, and Christmas was just a day away.
"If you're so kind or have the time to. Then yes, I would gladly like you to help me."
Jin sighed struggling to not smile again. "You owe me this time, (Y/N)."
"Know what? For what's left of the school year I'll bring you lunch everyday, that'll make us even. I know how much you love my cooking." I blushed glancing over to look at his cute face.
"You're cooking is really good. You'll make a fine housewife someday."
I blushed a deeper shade of pink when he said that, "You think so?!"
Jin hummed in agreement and turned to smile at me.
"Then I'll make sure to marry a man who'll love my cooking. Maybe the man I'm looking to marry might be closer than I think." I smiled wide deciding to go further with the flirting.
"Maybe so.." Jin said fixing his glasses again and opening his book again, now passing it onto his other hand so I could take a good look at it as well.
Jin began to explain further on the subject and what might possibly be on the final exams. I didn't really may much attention on the topic since I already knew all about it, I just wanted to be as close to him as possible, be with him since I don't know if he's planning on traveling soon since we'll both be graduating from college.
The two of us remained together with me pretending to pay attention when I rested my head of my crushes shoulder, I felt him tense a bit when I did that and I internally chuckled when Jin had stuttered and quickly continued with his lesson.
"So, did you get any of that?" Jin asked closing the book and glancing down at me. I looked up and shook my head.
"Nope. I'm sorry."
Jin sighed defeated and I quickly sat back and watched him begin to stretch and stand up. "Well, it's getting late-"
"Let me make dinner for you!" I shouted making him look at me surprised. "I-I mean…yes! I made you stay out here on campus when you could've declined teaching me, let me cook something for you and your dad." I offered.
"What about your par-" Jin didn't finish the sentence and came over and rested his hand on my shoulder.
"Let's go, (Y/N)."
It must've slipped from Jin's mind…when he was about to mention my parents. It had been a year since they passed away, or killed as the news officially said, no evidence or anything was found on who killed them.
For a short time when that happened, the small Itadori household let me stay with them. If it weren't for Jin, would've been long gone.
My parents knew about my crush on Jin Itadori and I would often dream and tell them that'd they better be present on our wedding. A girl can dream..I wanted them to take part in the many things I wanted to do, unfortunately I was alone now.
"I'm home!" Jin announced when he was the first to step into his and his father's shared home. I placed my belongings near the entrance and took my shoes off before going inside the residence.
"I brought (Y/N) home!"
Jin loudly said and I walked with him with grocery bags in hand. The older Itadori suddenly appeared before us looking over at his tall son and over to me.
A small smile forming on his face, "Ah (Y/N)! It's always nice to see you with my son. This is your home too."
I smiled blushing when I felt Jin's eyes on me as he held a glass of water and started to drink, I bowed a bit and held the bags up a bit. "Thank you very much, sir. If there's no trouble I'll be preparing you both meals for the night."
"You're too kind, (Y/N). You know, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, I see you're all ready doing fantastic job on my son, Jin."
Jin who has been drinking choked on the water and started to cough onto the sink. I raced over to him quickly dropping the bags and patting Jin's broad back.
We both heard his father laughing. "I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." He suggested with a small smirk and left towards the living room area.
"That old man." Jin smirked wiping his mouth and standing back straight, "it's nice to see him like this every now and then."
I smiled and looked up at him. "I really care for him as well. I hope you'll like what I'm preparing to cook." I rolled my sleeves up and began row ash the vegetables.
While doing so I heard some pans being taken out of the shelf. I turned and saw Jin wiping them and making sure they were dirty to use, "You think I'm gonna let you be the only one to cook?"
I hum and smiled. "Fine. You can help me out just a bit, but then you'll be out of the kitchen." I said continuing to wash the vegetables and slowly my sleeves began to lower themselves down about to get wet.
I gasped lightly when Jin grabbed my arms and began to carefully roll the sleeves to my dress up, making sure they wouldn't slip again.
"There wouldn't want you to get that cute dress wet." I blushed heavily and felt my heart beating faster.
"How about the person wearing it?!" I quickly asked.
Jin chuckled and simply patted my head. "Let's get cooking, (Y/N)." He said winking at me.
"Ahh this smells delicious!" My mouth watered at the many dishes I prepared with the help of Jin. His father, Jin and I were sat down on the cushions and saying a small prayer.
From outside of the Itadori home, I could see the sky getting darker with snow beginning to fall and many colorful Christmas lights brightening up the streets.
"And let's thank (Y/N) for preparing this delicious meal for us, may many blessings fall on you, my dear." Itadori's father said.
Making me blush and smile at the older man with Jin pouting at his father. "I also helped, you know?"
Ignoring his son, his father continued to speak. "When I'm on my deathbed promise me you'll continue to be a part of his family, and bringing me your famous chicken soup I enjoy."
My expression on the old man softened. Maybe he meant it if Jin and I were to marry, if I would continue to look after him too.
"Don't mind the old man." Jin sighed making his father hit his shoulder with a newspaper.
"Stop slouching and sit up straight." Jin nearly choking on the tea I prepared.
I began to chuckle then laugh at their interactions. "Don't you worry, sir. I'll continue to be a part of your family until the day I die. That's if your son is willing to accept me as well."
I blushed and hid my face looking at my lap. "I-I" Jin stuttered and his father answered for him.
"He accepts! Now let's dig in before the food gets cold." His father seemed really happy. Jin and I glanced at one another and smiled with a bright blush on both of our faces.
"You're more than welcome to spend the night here. It's getting colder and it can be dangerous to walk back home, thought we wouldn't have allowed you to leave if you had insisted." Jin's father had told me earlier when the three of us finished eating.
It was late and the streets were completely empty. Snow continued to fall and decorate the once melting ground. The night felt so peaceful.
I smiled to myself when I heard Jin's father snoring throughout the small home. I remained seated staring outside the glass door and watching the snow gently land on the door, and also admiring the medium sized Christmas tree I had gifted to them which was lit up colorful lights.
"Couldn't sleep either, huh?" Jin's gentle voice said when he came and saw me seated on the cushions.
"Decided to stay up a bit longer." I softly said still staring outside and turning to look at him. He was wearing warm pajamas, while I was wearing some clothes he lend me, pants that fitted a bit too big along with another large hoodie that could fit two people due to how small I am.
I also had a warm blanket over my shoulders. "Tomorrow's the final exams.." I commented.
"Want me to help you out?" I shook my head at Jin's offer and smiled looking at him again.
"I'm good. Thank you for always looking out for me."
I felt Jin move from where he once was and he took a seat down next to me and now drapped the blanket over on both of us. The close contact to him made me now blush a lot more, if he were to lean closer I think he would be able to hear my heart beating faster.
Jin hummed looking at me when I quickly looked away from his eyes, I felt him fixing his glasses before I felt one of his hands land in my forehead.
"You okay, (Y/N)? You seem a bit too red."
"No! I-I'm completely fine."
I began to overthink things now and was truly scared. Final exams. Depending on what we might want to work for, we could remain in Japan, leave the city or country. I don't want Jin to leave if any offers would be given to him by the choice in work he's been studying for.
Before Jin could pull his hand away I quickly grabbed it with my right hand, making him look down at me surprised. Without spilling any tears I looked over to him.
"Are you scared, Jin? On what the future might hold…for us?" I muttered not wanting moments like these to end.
"Honestly I am..but I know my father will have my back no matter what I decide to do. I'll have to learn to out those fears aside.. I'll have to work hard I can give my old man a nice life for the remaining year's…how about you? Do you have a goal in mind?"
I blushed and thought not too hard. "This might sound stupid..But I want to have kids. Children of my own."
My answered seemed to surprise Jin. "Don't you think it's a bit too early for that?" He joked still holding my hand.
Whatever our relationship may be. It's clear as day to anyone that we both care about each other a lot, pining over each other from time to time and it's clear there's an attraction on both sides. Thing is nothing has been official and no words have been said about it.
"Wouldn't you want to have kids? Maybe a small Jin running around the place?" I suggest and saw Jim thinking hard until he smiled a bit.
"A small Jin, huh? Another boy filling up the household..a girl would be a nice addition too." His words warmed my heart.
"Guess I'll have to find the right person for the job." We both said at the same time and smiled.
We both went back to looking at the window and I never felt so calm and relaxed in Jin's arms. Starting a life with Jin and having a family, kids with him doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.
"Jin…"
My eyes widened a bit when I felt his hand under my chin making me look up at him. I could see his warm eyes under his glasses. I began to close my eyes when Jin started to lean down further to me, my hands went up to grasp onto his hoodie when I felt his lips press against my own. I closed my eyes and hummed into the kiss when one of his hands was now placed behind my neck cradling me closer to him.

Incest, obedience, and the big three clans in Jujutsu Kaisen
In the chapters when Naoya first appears he's chatting with Maki and Mai's mother about them; he is reviewing Mai and Maki for marriage (his first cousins) because of the level of traditionalism/purity the Zenins uphold. For the Zenins "inbreeding is a way to preserve the bloodline and inherited techniques. they also believe that it increases the chance of having a child gain the rare inherited techniques." @tempenensis
Tumblr media
We can also see this being upheld by looking at the family tree and seeing that Naobito married his niece. It can also be suspected that Toji’s first wife (Megumi’s mother) was also related to the Zenin family in some way due to the stark resemblance between her and the other Zenins. His first wife was not the one with the Fushiguro last name, it was Tsumiki’s mother who had the last name
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megumi's mother resembles all of the other Zenin members and if she was introduced to the series as a character that wasn't Megumi's mother she would easily be able to pass as a Zenin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know by now and have seen that inbreeding does not guarantee powerful heirs (Maki easily kills the remaining Zenin clan). We also see characters like Gojo, Yuta, Geto, etc. who are not the result of inbreeding being more powerful than them. Now you would think why would the Zenins not marry off someone powerful from the other big three clans like the Gojo or Kamo family to increase the odds of a child getting a rare technique from either side especially after learning about why inbreeding is bad? To put it simply they make terrible choices and one of the only good choices that the Zenins have made is Naobito making Megumi head of the clan. Not to mention they believe the Zenins are superior than other sorcerers and say " if you're not a Zenin you're not a jujutsu sorcerer. If you're not a sorcerer you're not a person"
Tumblr media
There are also the weird "first loves" in the series being the other characters' siblings or family members (notice how it's Zenin members that do this)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not to mention the weird relationship between the father and daughter we saw in chapter 96
Tumblr media
And Mei Mei being fully naked in bed with Ui Ui (ch 133)
Tumblr media
All of Kenjaku's relationships are also questionable
Tumblr media
More weird incest themes
Tumblr media
Anyways you may be wondering why I made a post on this topic of all things. I just wanted to show that Gege has no issue showing how fucked up the sorcerer world is, especially the big three families. The clans are basically like nobility and practice incest to keep the bloodlines pure. The Zenin clan is the biggest example of this. They are purists, traditionalists, and misogynists. Their values are hierarchy, techniques/cursed energy, and obedience. This environment explains why Naoya grew up the way he did and why he has the beliefs that he does.
The first son of the family is expected to lead the family (not a woman because of the misogyny). When Toji was born he had expectations from the start of being the first son. He was supposed to have one of the rare techniques and cursed energy but he didn't. He was punished for this by being thrown in the pit and abused by them. Once he started to disobey them he was disowned. However, when he showed how powerful he really was they still didn't respect him. Naoya and Ranta were the few Zenin members who had genuine respect for Toji, the others feared him because they knew he could easily take them all down if he wanted to but they still did not respect him. When he passed they most likely downplayed how strong he was because they still didn't respect him.
When Maki started to become like Toji the fear returns but once again they don't respect her. The mistreatment of Toji by the clan could explain why he became the way he did. He was faced with years of abuse and when he got to be "the strongest" he let loose possibly as a way of retaliation to the clan. No one could stop him and he could finally do what he wanted (seen with a lot of strict upbringing and obedience). All the children in the Zenin clan are viewed as worthless and treated like trash unless they have a technique/cursed energy and are expected to serve their parents/other clan members and not get in the way or they will be disowned.
It is not just the Zenin clan that does this though. The Kamo clan casts out Noritoshi's mother because she was his father's mistress (and not pure blood) and Nori is essentially an illegitimate child. However, Nori gained the clan's technique and was made heir and the next head of the clan just like Megumi was even though they were illegitimate heirs (Megumi because Toji was disowned). This shows how much the clan values technique and how they view hierarchy and have exceptions. While we do not know much about the Gojo clan, it is not farfetched to believe they also follow these practices.
Sorcerers are not good people, they don't follow the same rules as everyone else with barely any consequences. They do weird and gross things but to them that is normal. Gege manages to show this without being over the top or edgy
edit:  I accidentally used the wrong family tree and mistook Toji as being the oldest child and Naobito being Maki and Mai's father, but other than that everything is accurate and still stands
