Bound: Advanced Transfiguration (& Other Forms of Romance) by me / Gemini In Retrograde by @citrusses

A tete-beche!

Cit and I have been chatting about doing a collab for ages and we did it at last! This is a little tete-beche marrying her fic about fathers and teenage sons and my fic about fathers and teenage sons. As I shout-messaged her: our fics are hanging out together!!! Ahhh!!!

Citrusses typeset my fic and I typeset hers, then we swapped and went our separate ways to bind and case them in, before finally sending each other a copy in the mail.

Well, the swap is complete and it was DELIGHTFUL to work with Cit on this little project. I have multi-part gushing so I'm just going to go ahead and give you a cut.

Starting with Citrusses' half of the tete-beche: this is the first time I've ever seen anyone typesetting my fic! I was so excited to get her email with the PDF. And then! It was so gorgeous! I loved the clean chess theme, the beautiful breaks and artwork, the font choice for the titles, everything. It was amazing to see it all come together like that. I am so fond of my little James-POV fic and it was a treat to get this small love letter to the fic from a binder and author I admire so much.

For my half, I had the pleasure of setting Cit's fic, which is a Freaky Friday trope where Draco and Scorpius have swapped bodies. Citrusses manages the tightrope walk that is a father-son body swap (and a Drarry story!) with such skill and care. I adore the imperfect but trying-hard relationship between Draco and Scorpius, and of course I adore Prof. Potter. It's a brilliant fic and it was so fun to set it and bind it.

I ran with the Freaky Friday thing -- at first, I thought about the Jodie Foster original, but when my 70s artwork failed to inspire, I switched to the 00s version with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. This worked better for my brain! I had so much fun creating the title page and chapter headers in the 00s style, using green and blue to signify Draco and Scorpius's respective houses in the fic.

For the final bind itself, I did two versions, mostly because I trimmed the first copy badly and then bled on it (ha) so I had to try again. The first version uses black and white and gold HTV, but for the second I swapped the black for a dark blue because it vibed better with the endpapers I'd chosen. I did a striped endband for my (bloody) copy and an ombre one for Cit's copy.

The style of the cover design owes something to PrettyBinding's style on IG -- I love the thin gold outline and I am going to feature it again soon, though used a bit differently! The constellation behind the Scorpius and Draco figures is, in fact, Gemini. Not that you can tell??? But I know it in my heart!

All in all, an absolute delight of a bind and a swap! I was so tickled to work alongside Citrusses. And I will save my gushing about the amazing binds I received for a later post!

Jupiter Gemini: Abundance of Information

Jupiter will enter Gemini on May 25th until June 9, 2025

After being in the earthly sign of Taurus, it moves into air sign.

So what does this mean for the collective?

- we are going to be talking!!!! 🗣️There’s going to be an abundance of idea and everyone is going to want their voices heard. On one hand this is good because new ideas that can further the collective, however, there’s going to be a lot of not so good ideas being brought up. Be prepared to see lots of ignorant statements, people being more vulgar in public.

-we are going to be talking a lot about wanting to find close knit communities, Gemini rules over our local communities. More people talking about moving abroad and getting their passports will be huge themes. We may start seeing lots of people talk about there experiences in their new neighborhoods

-friendships and people trying to find new besties to hang with. There’s going to be an overwhelming need of wanting to find loyal friends. On the other hand, you may lots of public friend feuds. Jupiter rules over law and court, friends suing each other. Gemini rules over rumors and gossip, so people spreading rumors about their friends.

-lots of stories about co-workers and the people you work with. People marrying their co-worker since Jupiter is one of the marriage planets.

-siblings. Working with/for siblings, siblings going to/back to college. Your siblings going through some legal issues. Siblings traveling together, re-connecting and bonding. Siblings feuds such as suing each other. Traveling with our siblings

- Jupiter is one of the father archetypes and it rules over husbands, brothers and grandfathers. Gemini rules over our cousins and uncles and aunts. Pay attention because these people in your life is going to have a lot to say. They may be more vocal about their beliefs and ideals, some may even surprise you in a good or bad way.

-our minds are going to be heavily stimulated from the amount of information that’s going to be thrown at us. I’m not even just talking about the media but just in everyday life lol. With Pluto Aquarius, it’s going to be a lot of stuff being revealed to the public. Some of these things might not be good. so please don’t burn yourself out because it can be too much. Gemini placements, especially you because Jupiter is in your sign.

-Jupiter rules over worldly events, I predict we will hear about more things going on overseas. I’m not just talking about ongoing events such as Palestine-Israel or Ukraine but I imagine we’re going to be hearing or be more self aware about other things going on in the world. Again, it could get overwhelming so don’t burn yourself out yall. This also includes word leaders.

-religion/religious figures. Jupiter rules over religion and churches. I can’t help but wonder if some sort of public scandal comes out about some religious figures. People discussing religion and the impact it’s had on the public. People wanting to find the truth. What’s truth vs what’s fiction will definitely be hot topics. There’s going to some controversial topics so heads up. People in your life may talk about religion such as religious trauma or their personal religious beliefs. People are about to be very outspoken in a way I don’t think we’ve seen before, I’m already seeing it after reading Billie Eilish interview 😅

-writers/authors. As a writer myself, I think this is going to be a good time for aspiring authors to start or publish their projects. The writing community is in an odd space since the rise of Ai and scammers making AI books, there’s a lot of uncertainty in the air. With that being said, the good news is that the general public is still very much interested in books written by real people so if you want to write and publish, do it!

-completely random but legs and running may be topics. People talking about best places to jog or run. Leg exercises may be another topic. Running marathons, people running there first one or winning their first, I predict an inspiring story to come out this summer. You know, I forgot the Olympics is this year so track and field runners will be heavily in the media.

-this is definitely a think before you speck transit and I know so many people are about fail that lesson😭. We’re all going to have to apply the rule thumper mama told him from Bambi “If you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say it all” 😅

-Teachers/Education. Possible teacher strikes or more teachers speaking out about their current frustration about the system. I predict the educational system to be completely reviewed and lots of changes are going to be made. I believe people are going to pursue different routes of education for their kids, especially those with disabled children. Teacher strikes wouldn’t surprise me. More College adults seeking education overseas than here. Speaking of college adults, there’s been a lot of protesting on campuses happening and I don’t see that stopping, if anything, it’s going to enhance even further. Perhaps even globally.

-transportations. Now I’m not entirely sure how this going to play out but people who work transportation make speak out about unfair work conditions or their could also be strikes. On the flip side, more people will buying or looking to buy cars. Cars from overseas may be hot topics. Trains stations, bus stops, bike trails may be topics.

An Era-Defining Pluto Cazimi

This Week's Astrology, Jan. 20 - 25, 2026

Happy MLK Day! Since last week’s Cancer full moon, Aquarius season has begun. TikTok was banned in the U.S. for about 10 hours before it was resuscitated. (Not that I freaked out or anything.) Oh, and I don’t know if you’ve heard the other news (ie: read your Aquarius Season Horoscopes), but there’s also a sinister era-defining, once-every-248-year Pluto Cazimi in Aquarius. And that’s just on Tuesday. The rest of this week’s astrology sees swaths of activity swirling around plans, commitments and follow-throughs. You may also expect to see some surprise actions, changes in direction, unexpected connections, and a brief but nonetheless potent moment for heightened emotional connection, sensitivity, and care.

But I’m sure you’re more curious about the Pluto cazimi—I know I am. A cazimi puts a planet “in the heart” of the Sun, which basically means two things: 1) that planet gets a reboot, like a new season of a sitcom—it’s the same characters, same location, but different plot twists are about to unfold; and 2) the Sun shines a light on the story that planet is already telling. With the Sun conjunct Pluto (Pluto cazimi), the Sun is bringing to the surface all of Pluto’s hidden power, wealth, and influence, illuminating the pre-existing Pluto in Aquarius storyline of supremacy (read: corruption, collapse, and regeneration) through technology.

How I see this Pluto Cazimi most obviously taking shape right now is: the mob of billionaire tech bros (Musk, Zuck, Bezos, and all the Crypto enthusiasts) saddled up to Trump. These guys aren’t just attending the U.S. Inauguration on Jan. 20, they have courtside seats, and they are the same techno-crypto fat cats who either lined Trump’s pockets to helped him get elected (looking at you, Musk), or simply “donated” millions to Trump’s Inauguration Ball. Either way, they used some of their massive wealth and influence (Pluto) to fund a powerful leader (the Sun).

The billionaire tech giants literally own social media; they own the platforms through which swaths of people receive their news and/or spend the majority of their time doomscrolling. So, the Pluto Cazimi is shining a light on that. It’s very plainly saying to the people, to the collective (which is what Aquarius rules): these few, wealthy bros who are already in power, want more power. Over tech. Over government. And probably over you. Remember: Pluto is power. It is influence, massive wealth and hidden riches; and it can describe both the people who wield such things and the destructive force therein. Because Pluto is destructive. It’s also regenerative, typifying the whole death-and-rebirth cliche.

Pluto transits can take us to a dark place, decimating and demolishing to eventually rebuild. They also encourage us to compost the dark, decayed, mucky feelings that are getting in the way of growth and transformation. So, on a personal level—as in, for you as a person who is part of the collective—this Pluto cazimi is a chance to think about how much of your power you’ve given over to tech, to social media, or to other destructive forces in your life. And how you can transform. Not right this second—not even next week, but slowly over time.

“I’m not soft-hearted,” she said, keeping her voice low to honor the silence threatening to bloom between them. “And I won’t apologize for the fact that you weren’t given my power to wield, Joshua. You think you want it, but I promise you it’s a curse. There’s nothing noble about being good at causing pain.”

“My point is you wouldn’t know,” he said, one shoulder lifting in a shrug. “I’ve seen you with the others. You keep them at arms length to avoid making a mistake, but one day, you’re going to slip up. Wouldn’t you prefer to be with someone who already knows the worst of you when that moment finally comes?”

Despite his unaffected tone, Blythe found herself smiling as he finished the question. It was easy to forget how calculating he could be, with his soft laugh and bright, crinkling eyes. But in moments like this, it became clear that some quiet part of him was always gathering the things that might be of use to hurt her with later. As though dimming her light might draw her closer to him in hopes of finding fresh warmth. 

She couldn’t blame him, at least not entirely, not when she found the same delight in picking at his still healing wounds. It was no wonder Elias wanted them together, if only to give them both a new target for their volatile affections.

“I’d hardly say one summer is enough to know the worst in anyone,” she murmured, tilting her head as she watched his ring continue to spin. “And you couldn’t possibly-,”

“I saw it the moment we met,” Joshua snapped, cutting her off as light flashed across his gaze for the second time. It lingered while he stared back at her, fogging the blue of his eyes like frost. “Long before you wilted that poor flower. Don’t pretend you didn’t feel it, too.”
