falling just as hard…”

don’t grow attached. all it will lead to is pain. that’s what you told yourself when you first met him. what would you have done knowing you’d break that promise?
you still remembered the very moment you met. he sat crouched on the soaking wet ground, panting and gasping for air. a thick, murky cloud separated him and the world, the solidity of it nearly palpable. it was all consuming. it was threatening to consume you too.
you stood frozen still, your mouth agape with a sick mixture of fear, pain, and a twisted yearning. like you wanted to succumb to the darkness before you. the darkness currently enveloping your savior.
just moments before, you had been under the attack of creatures from the darkest abyss, eyes filled with an inexplicable hunger for blood. having been unarmed during your nighttime stroll, you stood little chance against the elements of nature and the enemies combined, for as rain poured down, soaking your clothes, the icy cold breath of a floating mage leered nearer and closer.
left defenseless, unable to move, both from shock and the frosty crystals now forming over your figure, you were the perfect target. a feeling of utter repulsion filled your system at the sight of the mage staring at you with what you could only describe as a bloodthirsty pleasure, a need to hurt, to destroy. you wanted to throw up. you wanted to escape, but there was no way out. this had become your fate. to die to the hands of a creature radiating such darkness it made your head spin and your heart pound.
“disgusting,” a voice called out through the night. such a simple phrase, explaining all that filled your senses at the moment. in a single swift movement, the abyss mage was no more. behind it stood many lesser hillichurls, previously dancing with joy, now standing to fight against the unknown intruder at the murder of their master. what had you done, going out so late like this? now the lives lost would no longer only be your own. yet, remarkably as it had been the first time, the miracle repeated itself. in a swift flash of green light, the monsters now lay dead at your feet.
you hardly dared to look up at the figure before you. and once you did, your fear was less than relieved. a shadowed figure stood before you, thin yet lithe like a panther. sheer power seemed to radiate off of him, and the various valuable trinkets hanging from his waist only furthered this fact. his face was hidden behind a glowing mask of vast intricacy, and you weren’t sure where to begin when desperately trying to analyze the stranger.
who, or what, was this man? you did not want to stick around to find out. despite the now melting ice, your body was left weakened and in shock, so the most you could manage was a slow, desperate crawl to safety. your resolve seemed to strengthen the farther you moved, yet there was a limit to the power of the mind on the state of the body. you fell yet again to the ground, and a small voice crept into the back of your mind. what if you just gave up? what if you could become free of this searing, blinding pain? before you could speak, he removed his mask and directed his attention to you.
“i see,” he said, an air of light disappointment filling his now exposed features, “you too are afraid of me.” something about the way he had said it, as if he didn’t expect anything more, nor was unexperienced with much less, made your system fill with guilt. a stark contrast to his aura before, he now appeared delicate, fragile.
“no,” you stuttered out in a desperate attempt to contradict his words, but before you could proceed further, his expression shifted from one of sadness to one of pure anguish, and he fell to the ground, fighting with some invisible pain you could not see. he was gasping for air, stumbling over even the most minor movement, and an eerie, dark cloud poured over him. there were specks of the green you had seen before, but rather than protecting the innocent, they were punishing the man before you.
it called to you, for you to join it, for you to succumb to your deepest desires, and you reached your hand towards the mist, inviting it to consume you. you were entranced by its beauty, tempted by its thrilling chill, and you yearned to become one with the darkness surrounding him.
“no!” a raspy voice managed through the pain, “all that awaits you is suffering,” and that was all it took to snap you back to reality. a new determination flooded your mind, adrenaline rushing through your veins, and without a second thought, you fought your way through the invisible barrier separating you and your savior. the air was thick and murky, you could nearly feel it encasing your soul, but you fought back. you couldn’t let it, you wouldn’t allow it.
he was hidden deep in the bundle of smoke, but at last your hands made contact with the faintest hint of warmth. not knowing how to proceed, unable to utter even a single word through your lips, you did the only thing you knew how. he was shaking, and so you steadied him. wrapping your arms around his figure, holding onto him as if without your touch he’d disappear, you caught him in a soft embrace. just as you were wondering whether he had noticed you at all, you felt his face bury into the crook of your neck, your shoulder now even more soaked from hot tears.
you started to pull away, afraid you had only made it worse, but as you heard his breathing steady and felt his arms pull you back, you knew that was not the case. after a few long moments, filled by nothing but a comfortable silence, the mist dissipated, leaving infinite questions in its leave. you started with the most obvious.
“what was that?” you bluntly asked, having no other way to put it. he still appeared to be exhausted, but now that you were farther apart, he at least seemed to be able to stand without much difficulty. an unreadable expression filled his eyes, one you could never exactly pinpoint. was it embarrassment? shame? you would never know.
“karmic debt,” he responded almost immediately, as if this occurrence happened far more often than you would like to believe, “my punishment from this world for what i have taken from it.” you stood there, still as if you remained frozen in ice at his words. what did he mean by that?
“thank you for helping me,” he stated, ignoring your gaping mouth and rigid figure, “i appreciate your kindness. therefore i shall protect you. but you mustn’t seek my presence again, or you too may be conquered by the demons whom i am sworn to this eternal battle.” he saved your life, so why was he showing you gratitude for a hug?
“if death comes knocking at your door, call out my name. adeptus xiao. i will be here when you call,” he said, face expressionless mere moments after experiencing sharper pain than you had ever witnessed. although a stark contrast to the emotions he showed, the entire thing left you with an inexplicable sadness deep in your heart. you opened your mouth to mutter your apologies and thanks, but in the blink of an eye, he was gone. you may have questioned the reality of it all if you had not seen that familiar green haze left where he had stood moments ago.
you sat there, still soaking wet from rain and tears, but you felt no desire to move. contrastingly, when moments ago you had wanted nothing more than to escape, you now found it difficult to do anything but remain in place, drowning in your own thoughts.
it had been years. years of joy, years of companionship, years of kindness and belonging. so why did you still feel a lingering emptiness in your heart?
things had been different since that day. you couldn’t do anything on your own anymore. after the near death experience, you couldn’t get yourself to go anywhere without the presence of others, out of fear that the darkness would find you once again. you had enrolled in martial arts classes in liyue harbor under the insistence of your friend, xiangling, but you couldn’t help but look back on that day in a sense that you had been cheated.
“if you’re afraid of what may lie ahead, why don’t you become stronger than the monsters that lurk outside the harbor?” she had said, “make them afraid of you.” her words seemed to replay in your ears like an unending mantra, only interrupted by a comically large flyer being shoved into your face. you stopped for a moment to consider the possibility before coming to an agreement. it was within the city borders, so why not?
the following day, you walked through bustling streets filled with bubbly shoppers, vendors whose eyes lit up at the sight of mora, and the smell of delicious liyue cuisine. before you lost track of your business at the sight of a particularly aromatic stall filled with xiaolongbao, you forced yourself, albeit reluctantly, to turn in the opposite direction to visit the fighting class.
you weren’t sure what you were expecting to see, but either way, the sight of dozens of people all holding spears and following xiangling’s lead as she summoned fire through her glowing, blazing red vision was one that was unsettling to say the least. all you could do was be grateful that she was the only one who seemed to be controlling elemental powers by their command, yet for some reason, this served as little comfort.
as she saw you walk in, she smiled brighter than you had ever seen her since the day you had been attacked, and she didn’t attempt to hide her joy as she waved you over to the front of the class to receive a weapon of your choice. as she directed you to the corner of the room, your confused expression spoke for itself as she, in turn, spoke.
“you’re probably wondering how i managed to run a martial arts class on the side without anyone knowing,” she began with a mischievous glint in her eye, “but i must say, my food stall has been selling pretty well these days, hasn’t it?” she finished the sentence with a feigned confusion in her eyes, but you knew better than to trust her questionable acting skills.
“xiangling, you haven’t been secretly planning to recruit me for profit this whole time, have you?” you asked, with a teasing tone in your voice. she didn’t respond, instead just laughing into her hands.
“business is business, my friend,” she held up a finger to her mouth, before leaning into your ear, “but for you, i’ll give you a special price for coming here despite everything. free! just don’t tell the others, the aunties over there don’t mess around with their blades or their deals.” at this, you smiled gratefully at her, while subconsciously looking to the corner of the room to see a group of women, whom you’d previously seen shopping for vegetables and meat, now looking more terrifying than perhaps anyone you had ever met. you did not want to cross them.
“thank you, i don’t even know what to say,” you mumbled out, realizing you had yet to show your gratitude to your friend, but before you could finish your sentence, one of the aforementioned women walked up to you and your friend, earning a smiley acknowledgment from xiangling. she held a spear that you could have sworn was made of pure gold at the tip, a questionable metal to use based on price, but nevertheless a show of wealth you greatly feared. you could only imagine the amount of red bean buns that weapon could buy. she was looking directly at you, so you spoke out of instinct.
“ayi, it’s very nice to meet you,” you said so quietly you questioned if the words even came out, but when her face melted into a warm smile you knew that you had not done anything to offend her.
“i remember you, you gave me extra beef after the vendor ran out!” she grinned at you before continuing, “let me repay you. that dinner was very special, you see, so choose a spear and it will be yours.”
you felt a presence yet again beside your ear, and xiangling whispered something along the lines of the woman being loaded. you were by no means poor, but free stuff was free stuff, and you couldn’t deny the auntie both because you didn’t have the spare change on you to afford an entire weapon and because you remained afraid of the bulging muscles on her arms.
your mind was soon changed though at the sight of the prices. they both made your head spin at the thought of such a large amount of mora and made you feel impressed for your friend at making such good money from her clients. you eyed the cheapest one, a wooden staff, more akin to a fishing rod than anything that could sustain any real damage, but at the very least you were preventing damage to the woman’s bank account, even though it must be vast based on your previous conclusions.
you pointed out the rather dull piece, yet pretended to want it more than anything in the entire world. curse xiangling and her overpriced poking sticks. in no world was a slab of meat worth thousands upon thousands of mora. the woman merely shook her head at this choice, instead reaching for a rather pricy option, the steel bladed spear, accessorized with accents of a blue hue.
“ah yes, lin ayi, you have such great taste. i see you have chosen the sapphire spear?” xiangling was practically radiating with joy, and she hastily collected her cash before the woman could have any time to change her mind.
“wait, i can’t possibly accept such a large gift,” you began, but were soon met by the auntie going off on a speech about how kind souls must be rewarded in this world. either way, in your opinion, there was no world where a cut of beef should be worth a jeweled blade.
“aiya, what’s done is done, make sure to put it to good use, okay?” she said, knowing you would attempt to further protest, but you simply nodded as you knew that you were fighting a losing battle. you thought this would be a one time thing, but now there was an unfathomable price tag binding you to this place.
as if nothing had happened, xiangling called the class into position, encouraging them to assist you in the warm up. it began with simple movements, which in themselves proved tiring, but not impossible. they made you wonder what the actual lesson would be, but you were far too busy trying to avoid the thought of the day you had been attacked to mind. although the people around you were very much human, any sort of combat proved eerily familiar to the night you had almost died to monstrous creatures. you shook away the memory, focusing on xiangling’s directions, to see a reassuring smile on her face. this couldn’t be too bad, could it?
within weeks, your confidence grew and your fear wavered. after all, there was nothing to truly be afraid of in a secluded building at the center of the harbor. you proved to be somewhat of a natural at this, and although your technique was in no way perfected, you already moved as if the weapon was but an extension of your own body. that was what your rather young teacher said, anyway.
eventually, these meetings became a place where you were able to be yourself, a scarce opportunity after you had effectively shut yourself out of any activity that induced even a minor risk. you found yourself looking forward to them, and couldn’t help but practice in your free time outside of meeting with your friends, although you weren’t sure if the classes counted as a hangout or not when there were also dozens of other people whom you were only vaguely acquainted with.
it was a stormy night, not unlike the one you would give anything to forget, when you received an unexpected letter.
“meet me, chongyun, and xingqiu at wanmin restaurant tonight! it’s urgent! we have lots of extra food that has to be eaten and chongyun can’t even have any of the spicy dishes! be here at dark, it doesn’t look like we will be able to sell all of this today.” you could practically hear xiangling’s voice as you read the note, yet you had something far greater on your mind. it was already past light. how were you supposed to get the courage to go to liyue harbor on your own? your house was close enough to the city by the day, but by night you were more than unsure of your capability of navigating through a pitch black void. either way, you had to try, right? after everything xiangling had done for you, it was the least you could do.
sighing, you nervously exited the front door, locking it securely as you left. instantly, unpleasant recollections filled your mind, and you were never more glad that you kept your spear at your waist than now. clutching it as if something could pop out at any moment, you followed what you could hardly make out to be a path towards the city.
you heard a shuffling around you. of course, this was nothing to worry about, because there couldn’t be anything there. you took another step forward. the noise grew louder, and so did the thoughts in the back of your mind. you brushed them off. you began to walk at a rather brisk pace, momentary relief with every step soon ending at the sound of some unintelligible grunts and yells. it was all in your imagination. it had to be, right?
to your dismay, this fleeting wish of yours could not be more untrue. with a gasp of surprise and fear, you found before you to be a group of monsters wielding various clubs, staffs, and bows. there were mages, archers, and brutes, some of their outfits so different that their only similarity seemed to be a shared interest in your flesh. you hastily reached for your spear, trembling with every movement, and yet strangely, a feeling of courage filled your heart. like you were determined to survive after the chance the adeptus had given you all that time ago. like you wouldn’t let anything hurt you again.
suddenly, the air shifted. you, once their prey, now became the predator. almost as if on autopilot, every technique imaginable flowed through your veins, hitting through one, two, sometimes three creatures at once. one particular hillichurl had a pesky shield, and so you ever so kindly removed it before knocking it out with your blade.
before you knew it, almost all of the enemies had fallen, all but a lingering abyss mage, cackling in the air. you prepared to fight it, ready to take on the thing that had haunted you all of these years, and yet, it never attacked. instead, in a swift movement, the element of hydro swirled around all of its comrades, healing them in an instant. you froze. an all too familiar terror filled your system, all your previous courage and strength vanishing in an instant. suddenly, it matter not if you were holding a weapon, nor if you had the bravery to face the mage. you felt the cold fact of your leering death lingering throughout every part of your body. you closed your eyes, waiting for an escape from this world.
“i see you can hold your own now,” an eerily familiar, raspy voice said, and you opened your eyes to find before you the adeptus who had saved you years before. you had been younger at the time, and while you were equally pretty, it was undeniable you had changed physically since then. yet somehow he looked practically untouched. a mask appeared on his face with the wave of his hand, and you could do nothing but look in awe as all of the newly risen hillichurls fell again, this time permanently. expecting him to easily take on the mage, you could not help but glance at him in confusion as rather than fighting it, he simply looked at you with its arm contained in his hand while its staff lay dormant on the ground.
“i have told you. i deal in death. if you cannot bring yourself to kill, speak my name,” and that was all that was said before the creature of the abyss lay dead beside its minions.
“beware of what the night holds, mortal,” he said with a scolding tone in his voice, “now get to safety before you require my assistance again. your health is not something to freely risk.” and with that, he prepared to leave once again. but you wouldn’t allow it. not after he had left you without contact for years after saving your life. you would make sure that you could repay him this time. and so, as if by impulse, you grabbed his arm, and before you could notice that anything had truly happened, you found yourself atop what you could only assume to be an inn or tavern.
he simply stared into the distance for a moment, and once he noticed you, his eyes narrowed. you were unsure if he was angry or simply contemplating what to say. after a moment of nearly unbearable silence, he spoke yet again.
“why have you followed me here?” he questioned, and you couldn’t help but answer in the same fashion.
“why have you been watching me so that you could find me even if i didn’t call your name?” you asked. he looked slightly taken aback by this, before hastily explaining that he had found you the first time by chance, and that this instance was the same. however, he did not meet your eyes. you tilted your head as if to show your distrust, yet you did not push the subject any further.
“thank you for saving me again,” you said, thinking to remember his name before quickly completing your sentence. “thanks for everything, xiao.” his eyes widened slightly at the use of his name, and you couldn’t help but admire his beauty now that you found yourself on a serene balcony rather than in the heat of battle.
“it is merely my duty as an adeptus, mortal. so you need not thank me,” he replied, “i shall take you back to your home to ensure you complete the journey safely.” what? just like that? before you could do anything in return? you wouldn’t allow it.
“i won’t let you,” you said, taking in a moment of his surprised expression before continuing, “not unless you tell me your favorite food.”
“my what? in what way could this information possibly help you, mortal? cease this nonsense and allow me to carry you back,” he scoffed, annoyance building. despite this, you decided to keep pushing the subject.
“tell me or i’m not going,” you said stubbornly. at this he scowled, clearly unhappy, yet responded nonetheless.
“i have no interest in mortal food. cooking is tedious and the wait is long. the only thing i can manage to stomach is almond tofu, so you mustn’t waste your time on such a matter.” and with that, you had completed your mission. not even trying to hide your excitement, you suddenly complied with his wishes, allowing him to take you home.
“hold on tight, there is no telling what dangers lurk even in the skies at this hour,” he warned, and without a second thought, he scooped you up into his arms. you let out a small gasp before realizing that he began to jump, and you would rather not fall from the sky after an already near death encounter. you wrapped your arms so tightly around his shoulders you were sure it would be uncomfortable for him, and yet he did not complain.
by the time your stomach had finally began to adjust to the less than comfortable experience of flying through the air, you had reached your destination. he left you by the door with nothing but a nod, and disappeared into the night. you noticed how even though he was gone, you still felt safe, as though he not only saved your life, but gave you back your courage. you could fight on your own now, and if anything went amiss he would be there, whether he claims it to be by chance or not. as you went inside and fell asleep, a smile crept onto your lips, and you felt yourself drift into the land of dreams with the sound of soft rain in your ears.
the next morning you awoke with a clear goal in your mind. as soon as dawn broke you rushed off to wanmin restaurant, hoping that the store was open at such an early hour. once you reached the harbor, although the shop seemed to be closed, xiangling was preparing to start her day through the open window. you waved at her, calling her name, only to be met with the sound of rapidly moving footsteps and an equally swift hug. she smiled at the sight of you, and the dark circles under her grinning eyes were a clear indication that she had been losing sleep over your absence.
“where were you?” she asked, speaking so fast you could hardly understand her, “we were so worried, and then chongyun accidentally ate something with jueyun chilies in it, it was such a disaster,” she rambled, clearly stressed and clearly tired.
“sorry, xiangling, i ran into a bit of trouble on my way there,” she looked at you with an expression of concern, and before she could reply, you hastily added, “but i made it home safely, so no need to worry.” at this her familiar, bright smile came back. suddenly a twinge of guilt hit you that you had to ask her for a favor just after scaring her so badly.
“i do have something to ask of you though, if that’s okay,” you muttered, clearly afraid to request her help, yet her eager look gave you enough confidence to continue. “how do you make almond tofu?”
in a moment, her eyes it up so brightly that you could hardly differentiate them from her glowing pyro vision, and she dragged you into the kitchen at once. the smell of various meals being prepared filled your senses, all blended together to create a perfect harmony of flavors. you found it hard to keep yourself from staring too long at her cooking, but she seemed to take this as a compliment as she smiled yet again at the sight.
“don’t think that just because i’m a master chef i won’t put you to work, okay?” she said, jokingly strict, before erupting into her usual bubbly self. this was going to be a fun morning.
after what took hours, solely because of the fact that xiangling actually made you help, thereby slowing down the process tenfold, you walked out of the shop with a plateful of delicious sweets. it was slightly embarrassing that she could cater to customers and assist you faster than you could complete her instructions, but you wouldn’t expect anything less from a master chef like her. you admired your handiwork all the way home, before an unpleasant fact dawned upon you. you didn’t know where the inn xiao took you to was, since you had only ever been there through his swift teleportation.
you searched your mind for answers, until a risky yet probable solution reached your thoughts. a smile spread throughout your face as you hastily made your way outside, running as far off into the wilderness as you could. at last, you found what you were looking for. in fact, it was the one thing you had sworn to avoid mere hours earlier. a single hillichurl stood in the bushes, enough to pose a threat, yet easy enough to face if your plan failed. with nothing left to lose, you yelled at the top of your lungs.
“xiao! help me!” your throat almost hurt from how loud you had screamed, but at the moment you mentioned his name you found his arms wrapped defensively around you as he pointed his spear towards the enemy. his brows furrowed at the realization that you had called him to fight a single monster after you had defeated many more the day before, but nevertheless he fought it. the battle lasted mere moments, and when he turned back to you to bid you farewell, you stopped him.
“here, these are for you,” you said, unable to hide your grin at having finally been able to repay him, however small it may have been. he looked hesitant, yet a burning desire hid behind his eyes at the sight of the treat. you knew you had found his weakness.
“i couldn’t accept this,” he stammered, the only time you had witnessed his defenses wavering other than when faced with karmic debt, “you should have them yourself.” you shook your head, not willing to bargain, and before you could protest further, you felt his hand, holding a piece of almond tofu, move past your lips. you tried to ignore how your face went warm from his actions, but before you knew it, his expression was stoic again, as if nothing had happened. stumbling through your words, you fought to respond.
“now you have to eat the rest,” you argued, “since i had a bite.” you smiled like a child would at winning a pointless argument, but this very much had a point to you. he scoffed, but clearly not able to resist much longer, he tried a piece. instantly his face lit up, and you suddenly couldn’t envision a more beautiful thing. his amber eyes turned prettier and warmer than you had ever seen them, his soft teal hair swayed in the wind, his rosy lips curved upwards at the taste of the dessert. it was a heavenly sight. alas, as soon as you tried to get a second look, his expression returned to its neutral state. but it was too blank, even for him. you couldn’t help but notice how his chest slowly began to heave, or how he began to wince with pain.
“i must leave now,” he panted, “i must have awoken the demons to which i owe. thank you for this treat,” he said in an urgent tone, but you wouldn’t allow it. you wouldn’t let him leave you like this. not when you had a chance to help him. without further thought, you rushed to his side, pulling him in to a warm hug. you wouldn’t let it get as bad as last time, you couldn’t bear to see it.
“breathe, xiao,” you cooed, trying to sound relaxed in a situation that was the complete opposite of comfort. this time, he hugged you back, arms placed firmly around your waist, and you ran your fingers through his soft hair in attempt to relax him.
“why,” he said through soft gasps, “do you, a mere mortal, care whether i live or die?” despite the obvious jab of his words, there was something else behind it. pain. something told you that no one had bothered to mind when he collapsed in pain, suffering the agony he had saved so many from. it made you angry.
his breathing calmed, seemingly having overcame the karmic debt, but an emptiness lingered in his eyes.
“xiao, i won’t let you succumb to the darkness. you’re my friend now, aren’t you?”
“friendship,” he scoffed, “something adepti are cursed to never have,”
“but i’m offering you right now,” you retorted, subconsciously pulling him closer into you. was this truly something that people who were just friends did?
“no,” he said, with a tone of finality that made you listen at once, “see me as a weapon, and nothing more.”
a chilling silence filled the air, somehow separating the two of you even with your arms wrapped so tightly around him. you dared to break it.
“but you are much more than that to me,” you said, cupping his face in your hands, “more than you will ever know,” you whispered to yourself, but by the way the tips of his ears turned bright pink, the words were clear in his mind. he seemed to be at a loss for words, and you could hardly believe what you were doing before you leaned in, stopping right before your lips met his. taking this as an invitation, he pulled you in closer to him, mouth now on yours. the kiss was soft, warm and sweet, and as you melted into his touch you knew he had thought twice about denying your proposal.
you sat against the backboard of his bed, his head resting in your lap while you ran your fingers through his hair. you soon found out that he had a room at the very top of wangshu inn, and it had quickly become a spot for you to meet up and enjoy the tranquil sound of rustling leaves and singing birds. his face was a light pink at your actions, which you found adorable, especially due to the fact that you had been dating him for months now. he caught your eyes on him, and attempted to block your gaze with his hands, but you took the opportunity to intertwine your fingers with his.
“you,” he scoffed, “you really are a difficult being to comprehend.” you couldn’t help but laugh at his scolding due to the flustered look on his face.
“although,” he said under his breath, “i am lucky to have you, mortal, as long as you will have me too.”
“oh? bold to assume that i would ever leave,” you teased.
“either way, it is too late. the connection between us is too strong. even if you wanted to, it is too late to sever it.”
“i wouldn’t dream of it, xiao,” you said, planting a soft kiss on his lips. you could get used to this.

Cynonari modern AU!!
Tighnari- florist
Cyno- agent(he's rich yk-?)
A/N-Okay so just to quickly clear things up! Cyno is a agent who is currenty acting as cop/police for a mission! But I won't add his 'agent' side as much. I mainly added it for rich man purpose (also don't expect this to be a smut but I possibly might make cyno sadistic)
Cyno walked into his penthouse. Everything was luxury, modern and urban what else could he possibly ask for? . . . Although... He got lonely.. with nobody to speak to..alone in a fancy place..
At the moment the lights were dimmed and it was dark and rainy outside. Cyno was laying on his bed...thinking how stupid it was for him, a rich man to be sitting all alone in his penthouse. He was feeling annoyed that he even cared about things so useless
He stared at the clock and sighed
"12am...I should really get some sleep.. I'll think about this later"
He layed there...as he slowly drifted to sleep..
**The morning!!**
Cyno had awoken from the sound of morning rain
"Still raining huh?*
He rolled his eyes and began getting ready for work..
Cyno put on a his work uniform and walked out of his penthouse to enter the elevator...
He heads over to the lobby and pulls his car keys out of his pocket ..
He gets in his Tesla and drives to work...
*Thrid person view on tighnari*
"Ugh work is such a hassle.." tighnari groaned as he was gonna make a quick stop by to the police station
Tighnari was a florist who worked near the police station and he was quite popular for his work but on the inside he was a vulnerable creature...to be honest tighnari was the type of person people had mixed opinions on ..some people thought his tail was cute and fluffy...while others would say it was weird and disgusting... tighnari never cared ... He just thought to himself 'if that's what they think thats their problem' and continued with his day
Tighnari was holding a bouquet of flowers and heading over to the police station which was only two blocks away
He was delivering roses to his friend who was going to pass them on to someone else
As he walked through the rain he ran into a albino haired man with tanned skin...he was mesmerized by how attractive he looked ....

Tension Solution
Tumblr media
Summary: “I think this tension between us needs resolving. Be that with swords against each other’s necks or in my bed. You decide”.
Wordcount: ~4,2K
Pairing: Kaeya Alberich x GN! Reader
Warnings: Swearing, Enemies to Lovers, Sexual innuendos, Small mentions of blood
Author’s Note: Here it is! My Kaeya enemies to fuckers piece. A huge thank you to @gnocchi-ghoul for Beta reading this for me! I had such fun writing this, and you all know I’m a sucker for some good tensioned sworfighting, and this smug bastard has been on my mind ever since starting to play the game. I know this is not my usual content, but I write when I want, about who I want, ok? I’ve had so little inspiration over the past months that I’ve got to take chances like these and go with them.
Banner is not mine! If you know who to credit it to, let me know, I couldn’t find it!
There he came again. That stupid coin between his fingers, flung into the air at random intervals. That stupid grin softening his face, cheerful greetings echoing through the noisy hall. Oh, and above all, that tremendously stupid way his eyes find you immediately, just trying to do your work.
You lower your gaze, pressing your pen down onto paper with renewed determination. Jean and her new open doors policy be damned, you couldn’t wait to slam it in his face. Of course it’s the last few minutes of visiting hours that he decides to come back from his commission. Three blissful weeks of calm while he was stationed out near the Liyue border, no comments, no irksome remarks, no-
“Don’t tell me you’re too busy to greet me”.
You sigh. Kaeya observes you with his arms crossed, casually lent against the doorframe. His sword is still strapped to his back, droplets of water running down the blade, and he clearly hasn’t gone to take a shower yet, covered in dirt, mud and sporadic dried blood.
“Captain”. You can’t help your displeasured tone. “I see you’re back”.
“Inspector”. He raises a brow in retaliation. “I sent a notice stating my return three days ago”.
“Oh, that”. You pick the unintelligible letter from your desk with two fingers, holding it at an arm’s length. “Apparently your messenger didn't go for a swim on the way here. Could you confirm?”
His jaw tightens momentarily, as you note with satisfaction, but it doesn’t deter the grin. “You should be used to my handwriting by now”.
You place it back on your desk with contempt. “I am not. Hopefully your report to Jean is a little more… readable”.
He shrugs, beginning to peel off his gloves. “She’s never complained about it”.
Taking a deep breath, you try to calm yourself down. Kaeya tends to make you irrationally angry, and no, it wasn’t just the absolute nonchalante recklessness he treated his position and commissions with. You couldn’t count the times he’d risked more than his own life in battle, somehow always managing to pull it off in the last second. And of course, that was his surefire way to getting out of trouble, no matter how much Jean grilled him for it afterwards.
“Go clean up”. You try your best to make your dismissal abundant, leaning back over your work. “You’re dripping water on my carpet”.
“Oh, we’re touchy today, aren’t we?” Kaeya’s grin widens into a smirk, pushing himself off the frame. “Did Fawks hit on you during your patrols again?”
“That’s none of your business”. You shoot him a glare, tapping your nails impatiently. As if you still had the opportunity to go out on patrols, you’d been holed up in your office pretty much ever since becoming Inspector. You wished you could get out again, your body had been aching for some action for weeks, but he was the last person you’d ever confess that to.
Kaeya hums lightly, and instead of exiting, takes another step into the office. His eyes wandered your shelves with staged disinterest, but you knew he was looking for something to use as ammunition.
“I’m assuming you couldn’t hear me” you state, sarcasm adding a bite to your tone. “I told you to clean up. You look like you haven’t seen soap since leaving Mondstadt”.
“Oh, Y/N, always so worried about my appearance” he muses, drawing closer to your desk. God, you hated that stupid cat-like expression he bore, so sly and pretentious. “I’d be more worried about yourself, frankly”.
“I’m not playing these games, Kaeya”, you reply sharply, fingers tightening around your pen. “Go take a damn shower, and stop ruining my carpet. I don’t know why your immediate goal seems to piss me off, but I’d like to maintain some level of professional dignity between us”.
He rolls his eyes. “By Barbatos, you really are wound up today. I doubt that’s just my fault”.
“Be delusional, then”. You shake your head. “I don’t think Jean would appreciate another formal complaint, so do her the favour, if not for me, and get out of my office”.
“Fine”. He turns around, but not before throwing you another glance, and damn it, you know he has one last trick up his sleeve, just by the way he says it. “However, before I forget-”.
“What?”
“You’re pre-reading my report for Jean. Her orders”.
---
“... and that bastard didn't even take the time to brief me about the mission outcome, the entire time he was dirtying up my office!” You end your rant with an angry flourish, slamming your hand down on the table. “I don’t know what he intended with that whole interaction, he just likes making my day so much worse!”
Your friend chuckles, stirring her drink idly, an ocean of calm in comparison to your raging fury. “Man, if we weren’t close, I would never guess Kaeya to be such a pain in the ass. Each time I’ve encountered him he’s been so chivalrous and kind”.
“He just can’t keep it in his pants”. You cross your arms, sitting back in your chair with a huff. “If you ever end up in his bed, I will personally hunt him down”.
She laughs. “Oh, don’t worry, I won’t put you in that position”.
“I just don’t understand it”. You run a hand through your hair, glancing around the tavern. It was unusually crowded for a Thursday night, you’d been lucky to get your usual table. “Why he has this stupid grudge against me. We used to be normal colleagues, back when we were both only trainee’s and officers, but then one day the switch flipped and it’s like we can’t stand the sight of each other ever since. The worst thing is, he has every last person in Mondstadt wrapped around his finger! So nobody understands my frustration!”
“First of all, Diluc exists. Second of all, aren’t you higher ranking than him?” she asks, and you regretfully shake your head.
“No, Captains and Inspectors are on the same level. I personally didn't feel ready to be a leader in combat situations, so I passed on the opportunity. Now I miss active commissions so much, my poor sword is nothing more than an ancient relic at this point”.
“Surely, you’ll still be sent out?”
“I don’t have a command, the only times I might be are on extraordinarily dangerous or sizable sightings, or for assistance to Captains. Rue the day I get sent out with Kaeya”. You shudder at the thought. “That would end in total disaster”.
“So you really have no idea why Kaeya began to dislike you so suddenly?” your friend inquires, tilting her head aside. You shake yours. “And there wasn’t some kind of incident that caused this?”
“Not that I know of”.
A grin spreads over her face. “Hey, you ever considered that he likes you a little too much for his own good?”
“That’s some misogynistic bullshit”, you snort. “Guys are rude to people because they like them, yeah right. That’s just trying to normalise shitty behaviour in the name of quote-on-quote love”.
“I know that”. She gives you an exasperated look. “But… you have to admit that the two of you have some serious chemistry”.
“What are you even talking about?” you question, downing the rest of your drink.
“Every time you two interact”. She raises a brow knowingly. “Remember that time you were bickering on patrol through Mondstadt? I swear, even without a vision, I could see sparks between the two of you, and I wasn’t the only one, you got the entire town talking. You get on each other’s nerves because you have some unresolved tension you need to work out, and neither of you wants to admit it”.
“Shut up”. Your cheeks suddenly feel suspiciously warm, and you firmly decide it’s the alcohol. “Fine, Kaeya’s attractive, but he’s so fucking annoying because he knows that. He messes with me ‘cause he knows how to get in my head, and gets some kind of sadistic pleasure from it”.
Your friend makes an attempt to interrupt you, but you don’t let her, motioning to her to let you rant. “Let me finish. He was nice enough up until he got that damn ego boost after being promoted, I think, and even then I could still talk to him without the need to stab myself in the eye. He’s just so frustrating, never thinks twice about anything he does, and always gets away with it, plus he has this weird urge to always show off that stupidly toned chest of his and - by the Seven, I hate that idiot smirk of his, and the fact that he’s so damn perfect at his swordsmanship, I can’t even deny how good he is in battle, Jean has said he rivals her, and I despise that he knows he looks good while doing it, he-”
“So, how much longer were you going to let them just talk?” A voice offhandedly asks from behind you, and the blood in your veins turns to ice. Your friend smiles lazily, winking at you.
“Oh, you know, however long they need. Y/N’s been ranting quite a bit this evening, you really get on their nerves”.
You whip around, and sure enough, there he is, the cause of this mess. Kaeya has his arms folded, grinning down at you with thinly veiled satisfaction. You’re pretty sure half of the tavern is watching, and your blood turns from freezing to seething within seconds.
“How long have you been there?” you ask stiffly, glaring at your friend. She pulls an innocent face, leaning back in her seat with performative disinterest. Traitor.
“Just long enough to hear what I needed to”. Kaeya’s grin is threatening to split his face in half. “You really think I’m that attractive, huh? I never would have guessed”.
You jump up from your chair, spitting out the first thing that comes to mind. “Fight me”.
He actually laughs, a few of the tavern occupants joining in. “What? Are you sure you’re not mixing up a couple words there?”
You clench your jaw, deciding to just go with it. “Fight me. Knights of Favonius training ring, tomorrow morning. I’m sick of your attitude”.
“Oh?” He cocks a brow at you. “I hope you’re ready after wasting away in that office of yours”.
“I could beat you blindfolded”, you reply presumptuously, mimicking his stance, unable to ignore the fact that he smells a little too good for your tipsy state. At least he finally took your orders. You hold his stare regardless, unwilling to give in.
“Thank the Seven, you’re working this out at last”, your friend sighs, sipping at her drink. “And here I thought you’d take the sexual tension to the grave”.
Kaeya’s lip twitches in amusement as he extends one hand. “Tomorrow morning at seven. I’ll try not to kill you then, for that sake alone”.
You give him a dirty look, reluctantly shaking his hand. “Your chance of me doing the same is decreasing with every word that leaves your mouth”.
“I can live with that”. He suddenly leans closer, and before you can pull away, whispers in your ear, sultry tone leaving the hairs on the back of your neck standing up. “You’re going down, darling”.
Like Hell you are.
---
The training hall is usually relatively empty at this time of day. Some dedicated trainee’s use the morning to get their routine over, but otherwise, not many knights exercise this early. And though at least a few of them must have heard of what happened last night, not many are to be seen. Even if you could live with an audience, you decide this way is perfectly fine, especially in case of the (distinctly undesirable and should-be-impossible outcome) of you losing to him. You’re a bit out of breath from warming up, fixing your shirt before making your way over to the ring.
Kaeya is waiting for you there, clad in athleisure and in the midst of testing out a beginner’s sword. His vision is nowhere to be seen, and you curse him a little for not giving you something more to berate him for. Nevertheless, you straighten up as you approach.
“Good morning”, you greet him nonchalantly, walking over to inspect the racks of weapons.
A grin flashes across his face as he turns around, wiping the sweat off his brow. “Hello, darling”.
“Sweating already?” You raise a brow at him, deciding to ignore the nickname. “And here I thought I’d have a challenge”.
Kaeya laughs, rolling out his wrist. “You are cute when you’re acting tough”. Tilting his head aside, he watches you take your pick of one of the swords. The morning light bathes him in a soft glow, falling through the high windows, hair tied up in a messy bun at the back of his head, and- wait. Your cheeks grow hot as you realise what absurd directions your thoughts are heading to. Your friend must have gotten under your skin more than you realised last night.
Shaking your head a little, you roll your shoulders back and face him head-on. “Whatever makes you feel better. For the rules, as by training code, drawing blood is an immediate end”.
“No visions, no hits near the head or vital organs, dull blades and stop means stop”, Kaeya counts up calmly, making his way to the center of the ring. His blue eye gleams playfully in the light, and he swings the sword near aimlessly while walking. You grit your teeth at his relaxed manner. He wasn’t taking this seriously at all, huh?
“Don’t worry, Inspector”. He winks as he comes to a halt before you, maintaining the mandated arm’s distance. “I know the rules”.
“I’d hope so”, you reply, getting into position and watching him do the same. You decide to stir the pot a little, knowing it’s best to get into his head, and feign a smile. “I can’t wait until the rest of the knights hear about how royally I kicked your ass”.
He laughs lowly, and is immediately on the attack. Anticipating such, after years of observing him in battle, you parry it easily, ducking aside to avoid the next one. You wait until he’s nearly backed you into the corner, ego visibly growing with every move he makes, and take a rolling dive, knocking his legs out from under him with your own.
He manages to catch himself, and you’re relieved by the split-second of surprise in his expression. You withdraw towards the middle, blowing a stray strand of hair out of your face and, in a rush of adrenalin, smirk at him. “Not so confident now, are we, Captain?”
“You’re not as out of shape as I anticipated”, he counters, slashing his sword through the air as he repositions himself. Brows narrowing playfully, he adds: “It’ll make it more fun to thoroughly take you apart”.
You don’t give him more time to prepare. Blades crash onto each other as he masterfully deflects your attacks, and it doesn’t take long for the two of you to get out of breath. Neither of you can land a hit, no matter how feasible it seems. He handles the comparatively bulky sword with enviable ease, and you grow frustrated quickly, unable to break through his defences. In turn, you don’t let him back you into any corner, constantly keeping the playing field level and returning every new strike with your own.
“You know what, I’ve missed this”, Kaeya pants, quick to switch hands as you sidestep him, attempting to land a hit on his blinde side.
“Huh?” is all you can answer in return, deflecting his counter aimed at your back, and darting aside.
“Training”. He nearly misses the parry, forced to back up if not to risk a blow to his abdomen. “With you”. He shoots you a brash smile, easily twisting out of your range.
You huff, irritated at the fact that he still has the mind to flirt. “Your silver tongue isn’t getting you out of this one”.
“I meant it”. And of damn course, his tactic worked, the point of his blade sinking into your shoulder. “Remember when we used to practise together?”
“Before you became a dick, you mean?” you shoot back, attempting an aggressive strike at his lower thigh. Your body is getting sore, heart pounding against your ribcage, breaths coming out short and strained, but despite it all, you’re enjoying this. In any case, you’d rather die than admit to him that you’re having fun.
You really needed to get out of your office more.
Kaeya laughs, equally exhausted, before advancing at an alarming speed. “I’ll give you that one, darling”.
Your blades cross, metal clashing loudly, and you can see an opportunity form as he shortly weakens his hold. Rotating your sword in the opposite direction to try and hook beneath his, you’re so distracted by the possibility of disarming him that you don’t notice the satisfaction that washes over his expression as you do. One swift swipe of his foot and you’re falling backwards, weapon nearly ripped from your hand.
Your back hits the mat with full force, air knocked out of your lungs, causing you to give a strangled gasp. Kaeya is smirking down at you, but he’s as out of breath as you are and there’s sweat soaking his shoulders. You don’t think before you move, so infuriated by the words you know are about to leave his mouth, fingers tightening around the handle.
The hit against his shins sends him to the ground, but not sideways as planned, instead straight onto you. You don’t have the time or the mind to roll out of the way, and he tries very hard to catch himself, hands landing on either side of you. You yelp as most of his weight hits you, momentarily forgetting what’s even happening.
“Fuck”, Kaeya groans, arms shaking as he tries to brace himself. “You like playing dirty, don’t you?”
Slowly regaining the ability to breathe after nearly being crushed, your eyes dart to see him dangling over you, legs and lower body resting on your own. If anyone hears of this out of context, you’re moving to the other end of Teyvat. He’s panting, no doubt as shocked as you are, strands of his hair tickling your nose. His face is mere inches away from yours, heat seeping through his clothes onto your skin.
Decidedly too close.
Your blade kissing his throat is a much better sight. You know you’re technically breaking the rules, but the way his eye widens, corners of his mouth twitching and brows raising to the sky is just too good of a picture.
“Get off me”. You growl, trying to steady yourself with your other hand.
His laugh sounds astounded, but contrary to your demand, he does not. Instead, his chin juts forward, pressing the metal into his skin for earnest. There’s no blood, of course, all these swords are dulled to near uselessness, but it does leave you speechless at the amount of reckless pride he seems to possess.
Kaeya hums, clearly satisfied at your reaction. “I’ll be honest, this is not how I initially pictured you under me”.
What a smug son of a-
“Oh, fuck off”. Your knee makes contact with his stomach and he rolls off you with a grunt. You scramble to your feet, grimacing at what you're sure will be a bruised tailbone later. He’s already composed himself, twirling his sword idly as you get a proper grip on your own. Looking you up and down, his grin widens into a smirk.
“Though you do look similar to the imaginary aftermath”.
“I am going to kill you”, you hiss, red flashing before your eyes as you charge at him. Kaeya begins to laugh once more, but it quickly dies down as your moves become more and more aggressive, driving him out of the ring and towards the wall. The thought of whoever may be around again crosses your mind, but honestly, you can’t care about who may be watching, every last bit of strength you have left is focused on Kaeya and his stupid fucking face and the way he evades your strikes with a precision that only leaves to be desired to every onlooker. It makes you want to actually scream. You finally land two hits on him, arms beginning to shake from exhaustion and overwhelming adrenalin.
But once more, Kaeya catches you off guard. The switch flips just as his leg hits the wall and you’re just beginning to notice your own smile, sure of your victory. His expression darkens, lip caught in his teeth as his eyes narrow down at you.
Your blades clash as they did before, and of course he uses your own move against you, managing to perfect it. Your sword goes flying to the ground, and the moment you lose your grip is the moment you’re being slammed against the wall that he was nearly backed up against mere seconds ago. The tip of his sword is digging into the soft skin of your throat, positioned perfectly above your Adam's apple.
Suddenly, it goes very quiet, the silence only interrupted by your laboured breaths. Maybe it’s the fact that he near literally has a knife to your throat, but you can’t tear your eyes away from him. His hand is pressing on your shoulder, pinning you to the wall, keeping you in place. His leg is slotted between yours, barring you from moving an inch.
For the first time since you’ve met him, you have nothing to do but to admire him. Sweat is making his hair stick to his skin, an exhausted flush upon his dark cheeks. His body is visibly tense, stare boring into yours with a kind of intensity you’ve only ever seen during active combat. There’s nothing unintentional about the way he’s restraining you, nothing hesitant about the placement of the blade against your skin. His chest is heaving, teeth digging into his lip in constrained effort, fingers digging into your shoulder as if expecting you to fight back.
You don’t.
Instead, you let out a shaky breath. The adrenalin is still surging through you, but you can’t feel the constant urge to punch him in the gut anymore. Huh. Weird.
“You won”. Your voice is calmer than it ever has been talking to him, accepting of your defeat. Plus, your body is beginning to realise that whatever just happened hurt, and quite a bit at that. You wince, knowing you’re going to need some ice to get through the rest of the day.
Kaeya shakes his head determinedly, stare not wavering. “You had me in practically the same position less than a minute ago. You could have flipped me over with ease and won. You didn't. That’s the only reason I got you here”. His grip on your shoulder eases up. “We’re equal”.
Withdrawing the sword from your neck, he takes a step back, relinquishing his hold on you. You feel strangely dazed, automatically reaching to check for cuts on your neck. “I guess?”
“You okay?” He sounds relatively quiet as well, nearly uneasy, which does not fit the overconfident persona he usually bears. Whatever tension there was before has yielded to something more cautious, like strangers navigating their way across broken ice.
You nod, reaching to pick up your sword. “Fine”. You pause briefly, debating your words before meeting his eye again. “That was… good exercise. Thanks for fighting me”.
He laughs a little, and you’re taken aback by how much you don’t feel like reacting. What was going on? At the latest after that laugh you’d usually be back at his throat.
“Sure”. There’s the typical amusement in his face, but his smile is less egregious and smug. It’s… kind? “I’d have no problem repeating it”.
You raise your shoulders, unsure of what to do now. “I guess… I wouldn’t either?”
“Good”. He runs a hand through his hair in an effort to fix the mess it’s become. You’re beginning to hear the confidence you’re used to re-enter his words, but it doesn’t appear to bother you. “Friday’s at seven, then. We’ll make it a regular thing”.
“Trying to kill each other?” You surprise yourself with the attempt to ease the tension, and why in the world do you have the urge to smile at the sight of his?
“If that’s how you want to see it”. He shrugs, placing his sword back on the racks. Glancing over his shoulder, he regards you for a long moment. “I think your friend is right”.
“In what regard?” you ask, in principle fully aware of what that expression means for you.
Kaeya’s shit-eating grin has made its way back onto his face. “I think this tension needs resolving. Whatever means it takes”.
You can hear the words in your head before he says them.
“Be that with swords against each other’s necks or in my bed. You decide”.

Devil cyno x angel tighnari
TW-sadism,masochism
Tighnari pov..
Our world is full of angels and devils...two sides of the same coin...us angels may seem 'innocent and kind' but one wrong step and your a outcast....one the other hand we have devils...way worse...sadism...cruelty...abuse it almost seems like they don't care about how their actions affect others
Currently I go to school that consists of both angels and devils ...it's a nightmare but I have to suck it up
Present time!
"Class is so boring!!"
I yelled to my friend ,Nilou
"Just deal with it.." she groaned back to me
"I hate sitting in class. Looking at a clock back and forth. It so boring can this day already end by now." *This guy walked in class and I didn't know his name.
He was very attractive looking, I stared at him for a while. Untill he introduced his self to the class.* "It seems very plain in here. Nothing much, my name is Cyno. I don't really have time to be making friends." He says with a plain expression not caring much of this class. He just wanted to sit down and get this over with quickly as possible
"Nilou I think I'm in love with this guy, I don't even know him. He looks attractive very - can I get his number right....am I even good at pulling." *I look at Nilou in my simp mode*
"What!! you can't be in love with someone like him. You know that- it not how it works. Get off your simp mode you know he he a devil c'mon tighnari. And no you cannot be with someone like him." nilou tries her best to knock me back into my senses..
"It was just a joke Nilou chill out. I'm just simping, not wanting to be with him. Trust me that would never happen. I'm not trying to get tortured."
"Right like I believe you." *She says sarcastically*
Devils were known to be mad sadists as I said before ..
"Okay...
*Timeskip to the bell*
All the girls were staring at cyno..both angels and devils..how does one get so popular in one day...well I'm not surprised..his white hair...tanned skin...he even keeps a few of the top buttons undone which reveals his muscular body!

Part two of devil/angel au
Credits to Kiko and kaveh/Mori for helping me a bit!!
Make sure to read part one!!
**Cyno starts walking towards me slowly. I think he caught his attention. He looked at him for quite a second untill he said.**
"We're you staring at me for a second? I am not seeing things am I."
Cyno gets closer to me I started getting very flustered trying to cover his face from cyno**
"N-o..no- I wasn't I was just checking out the school. Nothing more."
"Hmm are you sure about that?"
He grabs my chins and titled it so I'm looking into his eyes..
"Eh well whatever I guess I slightly believe you. But you seem little nervous. What's makes you so nervous. Little angel."
"Hmph- nothing, I'm just little nervous. Because school Is a nervous place. Isn't that quite normal I think." I cant stop but be flustered he triss to control his self but he can't. This man was so attractive, he craved more of me. He wanted more of me.*
"Don't hurt me..." I begged...
"Tch...why would I promise that~" he said with a sinister smile. I couldn't help but feel intimated...but at the same time...why did I enjoy this?
I looked away...I was frightened and I loved it...I knew this was wrong...why would someone like me...an angel! Enjoy being in the verge of tears..
"Aww is someone scared~" cyno continued to tease and torment my fear...yet...I felt like he was suducing me in his own way..
He began pulling me into a classroom... This felt so wrong..
"Okay sweet angel~ you've got my attention...now why were you staring at me!?" He said with such aggression...I couldn't tell if he liked me or not...
"But you let the females lo-"
"Tch and your a man right? Your so gay...quit looking at other men" he smirked...it was obvious he was just teasing me to stare at my pitiful face that's how devils were...but this one was so different...he made me feel things...and I knew he felt those things too...
"Oi you gonna speak or not?" He said with a grin
"I should g-go!!" I panicked and left the classroom leaving him alone in it...he was smirking...he was happy to see me so flustered..
Thrid person view on cyno
"angels are so fun to toy with~" Cyno was contining to deny his feelings for tighnari... He thought he was just tempted to torture him...but really it wasn't that all..
Cyno walked into the school hallways as the girls continue to whisper and blush when he walked by
Cyno rolled his eyes as he walked past...
He made his way to his friend group which had two other boys in it.. alhaitham and scaramouche (HELP I MIGHT ADD HAIKAVEH JUST KEEP READING IF U WANNA SEE👽👽)
You'd be surprised that he already made a friend group on his first day but he was already surrounded by girls so what do you expect
"hey cy~ we saw you with tighnari...do you like him or something?" Scaramouche began getting curious but kept a sly smile on his face
"ah- no way~ he's cute and makes my heart flutter but as a devil he's no match for me~" cyno denied once again(denial is a rive- I'll shut up🥰)
"cyno that's what you feel when your Inlove -" alhaitham face palmed and stared at cyno
"well no shit! Yeah I do like him haha..." Cyno said as he tried not to look stupid
"cyno be honest with yourself...do you like him or not?" Alhaitham began to feel concerned for cyno
"...yes I love him...it was like love at first sight...but it'd be hard for him to deal with how cruel I can be.." cyno let go of his denial and had a gentle and loving look on his face
"well maybe he's a Masochist? I mean we saw the whole thing in the classroom and he seemed...quite...UHM... aroused..?" Scaramouche stuttered as he mentioned the word "aroused"
"tch that's cute" cyno smirked as he found it funny that tighnari got turned on by something so simple
Cyno felt like he really did love tighnari...but it would be long trip to confession
Tumblr media
Thrid person view on tighnari
"c-collei!! I need your love advice!!" Tighnari yelped out to collei, his friend that would always gossip
"ohh~ who is it~ is she cute!?" Collei began to get excited as she took a sip on water from her bottle
"uh it's a guy and it's the new kid..cyno" tighnaris wings fluttered as he mentioned his name..
Collei spat her water out as he heard me "C-CYNO!? I mean I kinda get why you would like him but out of everyone YOU like him!?"
"y-yeah...? Actually just know he was bulling me in a ....flirty way I guess...he was being sadistic but in a teasing way...as if he was trying to suduce me I guess?" Tighnari blushed just thinking about it..
"okay NARI- it's just the first day but he's really making a move on you~ he must like you~!!" Collei seemed to get excited that her friend was getting into a love life

"how do I approach him..?" Tighnari sighs and looks down
"Nari how did you feel when he seduced you in a sadistic way..?(I'm overusing the word sadistic but idgaf) collei was asking with a concerned look as she put one hand over the other
"Aroused...." Tighnari admitted with a flushed look on his face
"Your adorable" collei chuckled and pat tighnari on the back "how about we go easy and see how this goes..?" Collei giggled as she stroked tighnaris ears
Timeskip
(Here's the kaveh x Al I promised last chapter ~!)
A blonde boy was rushing through the hallway as his little devil wings fluttered in the air and his horns flashing through the school hall as he dashed his way to class
"Oi don't run in the halls you dipshit!!" Alhaitham called out to the blonde boy
"Are you my mother!?" The blonde boy called out to alhaitham
"What's you name" alhaitham would ask a sudden question
"...kaveh" kaveh said and rolled his eyes as alhaitham scoffed
"Tch your annoying you know that?" Alhaitham scoffed once again and turned around to walk away
"Hey you can't just ask me something and walk away you dumbass!!" Kaveh yelped to alhaitham
"well what is it you want to know?" Alhaitham turned back and raised his eyebrow
"your name ...? I mean you know mine" kaveh asked with a shy look as his wings continued to flutter
"alhaitham...but my friends call me al" alhaitham blushed as he spoke to him..
(I'm not gonna give them that sadist x Masochist relationship since they are both devils but I might give them a kinky relationship that's sometimes fluff)
"okay then..Al!!" Kaveh blushed back
(I'm gonna leave it like this sorry this chapter is short I'll try to make chapter four longer :c)

To sleep, perchance to dream: Ch9
Chapters: 9/13 Series: Genshin Impact Pairing: Beidou/Ningguang Additional tags: pre-chapter 3 Sumeru, canon-compliant but takes liberties with the AQ
Read on ao3
Summary:
At the behest of Grand Sage Azar, Ningguang heads to Sumeru on a diplomatic trip, and Beidou tags along. Unfortunately, trouble never strays far from the Tianquan.
Chapter 9 Preview:
Ningguang turns, holding up a tiny leaf. Attached to the leaf are two little vines that form a band. It’s so small it could fit on Beidou’s hand.
“An eyepatch?” Beidou asks.
“Eyepatches,” Ningguang corrects, nodding at a growing pile of leaves and vines next to her.
“For who?”
“The little ones.” She smiles. “They came over while you were snoring away, Beidou— they were very intrigued by your eyepatch.”
“My–?!” Beidou roars with laughter. “Wait, so… you’re making eyepatches for the lil’ Aranara?”
“Yes,” Ningguang answers dryly, “And I still have a few more to go, so” — she shoves a few leaves and vines into Beidou’s hands — “help me make some, will you?”
“Fine, fine.” The Captain picks up the small materials, feeling impossibly oversized for such a delicate job. She follows Ningguang’s careful instructions, threading a needle through vine and leaf, gingerly shaping each leaf into a recognisable eyepatch. Her first few attempts end in failure. She slumps in defeat, tossing her misshapen eyepatches onto the pile as a blue Aranara with a tiny hat hops over with more leaves and vines.
“Araja would also like an eyepatch. Arapacati and her brothers also wish to look like One-Eye Nara,” they say, before stealing a glance at Beidou. “One-Eye Nara looks angry.” They shiver. “Scary Nara…”
“W–wait, I’m not mad!” Beidou exclaims, shaking her hands. “The eyepatches just didn’t come out the way I wanted…”
“It takes practice,” Ningguang reassures her, gesturing to the pile. “My first attempts weren’t nice, either.” She nods at the blue Aranara. “Thank you, Ararycan. But that’s the last order I’m taking for today.”
Ararycan hops excitedly and waddles away. Beidou leans forward, a smirk on her lips. “Last order, eh? You charging them for this, Tianquan?”
Ningguang rolls her eyes. “I must admit it crossed my mind, Captain,” she confesses, “But I don’t suppose the Aranara deal in Mora, do they?”
“Fruits and flowers, more likely.” Her grin widens. “Sunsettias, maybe?”

Dancing in circles // ch18: equilibrium
Tumblr media
Read on ao3 Series: Genshin Impact Words: 70k+ Rating: M Pairing: Beidou x Ningguang mafia/triads AU
Summary: In their story, twin serpents will reunite in the shadows, entwining together like a caduceus.
Sneak peek:
When the door closes, Ningguang allows herself to pay full attention to Beidou — to her quivering lower lip and her trembling frame. She lays a hand on her arm. “Beidou,” she softly calls, drawing the other woman’s attention to her.
Beidou shakes her head, swallowing her words and staring at the floor.
Ningguang’s eyes narrow. She grips Beidou’s chin tightly, forcing the brunette to look only at her. Beidou scowls.
“Speak.” Ningguang’s order falls like the lash of a whip. Beidou flinches, but keeps her silence.
The Tianquan lets go of her chin, tangling her fingers into the other woman's hair, and tugs. Beidou winces, following her motion and sliding off the chair. She kneels before Ningguang, her head tilted up by Ningguang’s hand.
The brunette is still quaking. Ningguang’s grip in her hair loosens, and she silently cards her fingers through Beidou’s brown tresses, smoothening the tangled ends.
“Ning,” Beidou finally whispers, “I can’t…” She sucks in a deep breath, pressing her knuckles on her knees as she seeks comfort in Ningguang’s eyes. “I can’t lose you again.”
“Neither can I,” Ningguang replies, quashing the bile rising in her throat at the thought of Beidou wounded, hurting, lost to this world. She cups Beidou’s cheeks in her gloved hands as she bends, pulling her face forward until their lips meet. “You cannot,” she murmurs between kisses, “Give your life away… so easily.”
“Speak for yourself,” Beidou growls, rising from the floor. The brunette pushes her back into her chair, her grip painfully tight on Ningguang’s shoulders as she leans in, sealing their lips again. This kiss tastes of possession and desire and pure, unbridled selfishness. “You’re mine.”
