firstly lets get one thing outta the way. "why do some of them have soft horsey faces and others have human faces". im not gonna get into the Science of it because i dont know science and im talking about unicorns here, but having a humanoid face is a recessive trait. theres nothing rly different about them aside from that they got Funny Faces.

unicorns are born with a halo encircling their horn. it temporarily stores their unique magic, or their "gift" within it. when they trigger the use of their gift for the first time, the halo shatters and they can now use the ability whenever they'd like! examples of abilities include benezet's ability to channel healing magics, and antoinette's ability to imbue food with power that will be granted to whoever eats it.

unicorns are, in general, the high society sort. benezet and antoinette's family in particular sired 10 children with the hopes that they'd bring renown to the family with their gifts. there's an awful lot of politics involved with the building of many unicorn families. benezet always had the goal of having a child with an ability that would make a powerful ally to the Red Queen, which would make them associated with her court.

all unicorns are born with wings, but they are unable to use them to fly without the assistance of magic. unicorns aren't *born* with magic, but they often automatically come with their gift. this isn't always the case - haze himself can't channel magic at all without magical items or taking excess magic from others. haze is effectively landbound unless given a magical item or borrowed magics.

oh my god okay i think since like. 2012...? i forgot the url of my first ever blog so i can't confirm, it might've been like december 2011, but definitely since 2012. so about 12 years ! i initially got into it via ask blogs which ykno. were all the rage back then. so that was my first roleplay... foray ig ?? i don't think i made a real roleplay blog until later, which was for a pokémon self insert oc of all things, but i'm prrrretty sure i deleted the blog years ago so i can't verify that, BUT i'm fairly sure because my initial ask blogs were pokémon themed.

so yeah ^-^ tldr about twelve years or so, and i got into it via pokémon ask blogs !

oh god. um. i genuinely think raikov is at the top of the list. writing him usually comes super easily to me, and that's not something i've experienced in a LONG time. it's genuinely such a fun experience to write him and i love the followers and friends i've gained from it. i really like the lore i've built for him and the intricacies i'm slowly weaving into his character. he's so silly and i care him very bad and i want to write him for a long time <3 um. let me look at my list

OH MY GOD YES tiff tannen from back to the future. like raikov she basically existed as a joke / throwaway line until she showed up in the comics, and i took that bitch and put everything i had into her. there's some shit i handled poorly and some stuff i'd change, but that community was so chill and she holds a special place in my heart. i might revive her blog one day. OH YEAH and if you google tiff tannen my rp blog still shows up on the first page

um. im gen not sure who else. i don't remember a lot of my time writing other muses. probably like some of my historical muses, or. yeah i cant remember. maybe my fnaf oc because that was the first time i got fanart of an oc and i felt like the gods themselves had bestowed it upon me

回 ━ what are your top four favorite shows?

chernobyl hbo is my favourite show ever of all time and it is the best show ever of all time factually contractually legally clinically and undisputably. i genuinely love every single facet of that show. it's what inspired me to get into researching nuclear radiation and that's what eventually led me to meet my partner ! i love that show so much it changed my life literally. i cried so hard. if you haven't watched it please do so on your platform of choice ( legal or no ) because it's genuinely amazing

neon genesis evangelion is probably one of my favourite shows ever of all time too, it hit so close to home and i'm obsessed with it. and even though none of the characters canonically have personality disorders, i find asuka and shinji to be super good representations of hpd and avpd respectively, which is great because you usually never see those anywhere ! it's so good. i also loved serial experiments lain but it hit too close to home in a way that i never want to watch it ever again because i think it will do irreparable damage to my psyche. but i really enjoyed it !

OTHERWISE i'm actually not much of a... show girlie. i like friday night dinner though i literally forgot it existed until my beloved mentioned it right now. um. most of the stuff i watch is like hell's kitchen, four in a bed, don't tell the bride, that type of shit because i'm apparently 47 years old. i have been watching dorohedoro, chainsaw man, and spy x family with my partner though !

The Favorite Girl Scout Cookies of some of my OCs and if they would be a good Cookie Mom/Dad/Parent:

Ana: Girl goes gaga for Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties. She is a major supporter of the local girl scout troops to the point that they just let her know when cookie season starts and ship boxes to her direct from the bakery. Top Tier Cookie Mom. 10/10

Douxie: Thin Mints. Hoards them through non-cookie season. Excellent Cookie Dad. Very hesitant to let go of Thin Mints. 9/10

Elissa: The lemon frosted ones? Idr what they're called. (Lemonades) Very begrudging cookie mom. Wants all these goddamn cookies out of her house. 5/10

Ben: Samoas/Carmel deLites. He and his future husband go bananas for them. Their daughters' and nieces' cookie sales explode. Would be a great Cookie Dad if it weren't for the fact that he keeps sneaking cookies out of the boxes. 8.5/10

Michael: Trefoils and Peanut Butter Sandwick/Do-Si-Dos. Not really big on any of the other flavors cause there's too much going on. The second that Emilia joins the Girl Scouts he is the #1 supporter. Would absolutely be a Cookie Dad and volunteer immediately. 6/10

Thalia: I'm getting S'mores vibes from her ngl. Would volunteer to be Cookie Mom if no one else could, but is mostly persuading Michael not to volunteer immediately. 7/10

Sophie: I haven't tried Adventurefuls yet, but they look really good. Turns and runs the opposite direction when someone asks her to be Cookie Mom. 6/10

Eric: He just has whatever Sophie has. One box given just to him lasts maybe 2 months. (Which is a long time for Girl Scout cookies). Not very interested in being a Cookie Dad. 4/10

Charles: What the fuck are Girl Scout cookies. Will still buy cookies to support his nieces but is very confused about the whole thing. Definitely not a Cookie Dad. 2/10

Robert: Every flavor. This man goes bananas for them. He absolutely has a freezer dedicated just to Girl Scout Cookies so he can have them in the off-season. He volunteers to be Cookie Dad every year and no one stops him. 100/10

first of all, these are such cute kitties oh my god. When i first saw it I thought there was only one and then i went OH. OH 2!!!

and since no oc is specified I'll just answer with whoever I think would fit that question the most!

Do they have any crafting hobbies?

I often don't think about oc hobbies, just because I don't think about them unless they come into the plot HOWEVER, my special grimwalker boy Vincent chisels little wood sculptures.

He's autistic because of course he is, and doing little repetitive motions with his hands helps him calm down in most situations!

5. Do they have any tattoos? If so what are they and do they have any special meaning?

I was about to say I think I have any ocs with tattoos when I've just completely forgotten about my boy buck.

The Tattoo's don't have any meaning though! I did put them around his wrists and his neck though to kinda, give the impression that he's chained and collared by something. Primarily by his father, who was not a good guy but who he believes in totally and completely.

11. Do they have any addictions?

nothing harder than smoking cigarettes! Fable, Raphael and Pascal are all heavy heavy chain smokers (I would say Fable is the worst)

15. What kind of sense of humor do they have? Or do they have one at all?

I'll answer with Raphael, but he honestly finds made up words or weird butchering of real words incredibly funny. He would find the stereotypical tumblr humor to be top tier shit.

Lionel on the other hand, I think it's a bit harder for him to laugh. Though I think he would get a kick out of well timed puns.

50. What is your favorite thing about them?

Gonna go through my big favorite ocs.

Alex - His personality has shifted to more of a guy who's kinda grumpy but really cares, despite not being able to feel happiness and that like. it does something to me

Pascal - After years of putting them through hell, I've finally decided to give them a happy ending

Tracy - First oc of modified bliss I made, has changed so so so much and I love that for her. Is probably the closest to my issues that I've portrayed in a character. She's my fail girl kill girl

Fable - Hot Biker Chick. They're also I think, one of my older characters and I love how much they've changed

Raphael - My special guy I put all my fucking issues onto. Also he's hot and sexy.

Theron - His arc makes me incredibly happy and sad. This dude helped me through a really bad time in my life.

Lain - Newest baby to this list. His arc, like Theron and Fable's, makes me incredibly emotional to think about. Act 1 Lain to Act 3 Lain makes me so happy with his growth but also so sad about the horrors.

Ayyy it’s my bro! So let’s start off with the sort of “main crew” of kids that do accompany Achilles (and Achilles themself lol)

Achilles: Lonely adjacent and at one might’ve even been borderline an avatar. He loves giving but hates receiving.

Stig: Another lonely adjacent but less than Achilles, only thing keeping them tied would be his dad.

Mairi: Now that is a desolation aligned right there, it’s less about freeing kids for her and more of watching the church fail.

Rook: Their dreams of violence and outlet for it using LARPing puts him solidly as slaughter aligned.

Bit: Like Rook their best friend at camp, Bit also loves the violence but it’s more calculated like the huht.

Sam: Now that is a desolation aligned right there, it’s less about freeing kids for her and more of watching the church fail.

Lupi: It may have been a bit obvious but they're pretty much a standard hunt aligned.

Lina: Now her! Oh she's a perfect spiral aligned. After all lying has ended up being quite a bit of who she was.

Jane: A quite peculiar vast avatar. Even after the boating accident disabled her making her unable to walk, she still loves the ocean.

Shelly: Obvious eye avatar, paranoid of what might happen to her sister and keeping tabs. Plus she is able to synthesize hormones through odd means so it checks out.

Julie: A lonely aligned as well, it wasn't safe to her to be open. Keeping in secrets she didn't want to.

Randall: Our first corruption aligned as he drowns all his sorrows out with non stop smoking cigarettes or blunts.

Al: Very much aligns with the stranger, they were always ostracized for every little part of them.

Harley: A web little shit indeed, dragging people into deals and stringing them along to get what they want to.

Pani: Buried aligned, the ocean has always been where she's been safe and sound. The crushing weight of water is something special to her.

Since we have the kids down. Let's turn our attention for a second towards the counselors (a chance to show them off!). The two non blurry ones (Tristen and Sheila) are the two counselors who have decided to break hell and go against their boss. Making them atleast partially desolation aligned. While their boss Winston Charles is a wicked wicked man. Encapsulating the slaughter, hunt, desolation, lonely and flesh all at the same time. A multi-avatar in a way.

Anyways this was such a good ask!! <333, TMA is absolute top tier media!

a fic rec list that quite literally no one asked for

I’ve felt incredibly uninspired lately with fic. It’s a shit feeling. I may just be done writing. TBD. But as I’ve been sitting around trying to determine my feelings on fic, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about how I read fic. I’ve been reading it for awhile. I like to think that even in the 5SOS space, I’ve read a really good variety of things. So I wanted to make note of the fics that come to mind when I think of fics that have inspired me/made me feel something/are just really good. This probably will not be very organized and I apologize for that now. 

I’ve been very VERY lucky to get to know a few of the folks whose works I mention here. I feel so grateful to have had even small glimpses into your creative processes. Just before the world Stopped a couple years ago, I was shuffling toward a mindset of writing off fan fiction as a thing of my younger years and I’m thankful that so many people metaphorically hit me over the head with their incredible works. 

there’s some 1D, 5SOS, Shawn Mendes, and also solo 1D boys in here. i think a lot of them are at least a touch nsfw at points but not all of them? yeah. i think everything that is is noted of on the pages they link to? certainly not an exhaustive list of my favorites but these were the ones on my mind today.

Okay, in probably a really strange, completely non-linear order, here we go.

I genuinely cannot even begin to describe the love in my heart for this fic. this is the fic (and writer tbh) that kept me around on tumblr in 2013 and is the perfect example of everything i loved about 1D fic back in the day. an OC to die for, the perfect dash of so many different tropes, CUPCAKES, southern charm, it has it all. just the sweetest cast of characters. i cannot believe i was 15 when this fic was first posted and now i’m 24 and re-reading this still feels like a curling up with a cup of tea at the end of a long day.

okay basically everything written by @harryandmolly but specifically the following:

okay so fun fact i was so thrown off the first time i read the first fic listed there (the second one listed is a sorta AU of the first one taking place in early pandemic/lockdown times btw) bc the OC’s bff uses the exact same nickname i used in high school. okay but Lilly is a GOD TIER OC. i love a story that takes place over a really long period of time + really shows the progression of a relationship. also super random but as a woman in my mid-20s with crazy unrealistic dreams of living in a big gorgeous house with all my friends, the descriptions of the house Lilly lives in make my heart sing. for a story that takes place in a totally normal version of the world, the world building (maybe the wrong term here idk) in this is so great.

i could write it better than you ever felt it

three words: warped tour au. no but seriously there’s this blanket of nostalgia over this whole fic bc of the setting that is so fucking fun (she says having never gone to warped tour but shhhhh). another bright and brilliant OC, SO many lovable side characters, really driving plot. reading this feels like summer in all the best ways. (+ a brilliant sequel of sorts.) perfectly captures silly punk boys + hayley williams is there just being the goddess that she is. my introduction to jasey rae lol. so many things and all of them so great.

the emancipation of ginny

got momentarily distracted reading the teaser sorry i’m back now. ginny: bad ass and gorgeous business woman lady navigating being the assistant for an international pop star who is also her ex. andrew gertler is so stressed the whole time. i like a story that jumps around in time and this one does it in such a unique way. the writing in this is STUNNING, i feel like i am in every scene feeling the misty fog in london and the sun in my eyes on a summer festival tour. a Masterpiece imo. also the niall in this is wonderful in all the ways he can be + taylor swift shows up for a minute.

why yes i am in fact linking you to MIBBA bc 1DFF was the only other place to really find this i think rip to our fallen hero and what a throwback adlskfjdsl. i am NOT joking when i say that i literally cried when people started reblogging around the final update for this a few years back bc it had been like 5 years since this fic was updated. this fic holds such a special place in heart (as so many 1D fics from this era do). ezra is a brilliant OC and her story is SO GREAT. something i loved about ~this era~ of 1D fic was how expansive the backstories for the OCs were and ezra’s especially just made me fall in love with her. i remember that reading the conclusion to this story (so many years after starting it) felt like this beautiful sense of closure. i had very few constants in my later teenage years but stories like this one were one of them. love love love this story.

another fic that truly feels like it just? defined an era of my life???? (just had to do some internet wizardry to verify this was a 2014 fic lol) another OC with just the most sick backstory and story told throughout the fic. in this era of fic i was a HUGE fan of the harry styles london indie crew kinda fic. could not tell you why aside from how fucking cool i thought alexa chung was. you really get to see everyone make mistakes and grow in this story which i really admire from both a reader and a writer standpoint. like that’s not easy to do sdlfkjdsl. i love all the twists and turns and it’s a story i love returning to every once in awhile. cecilia’s experiences in this are so so unique and i’ve never really read anything quite like this story. the dynamic between the characters and just the overall vibe of ndp has always been so novel. i love it.

this FIC OH MY GOD. so backstory: i feel like i was the last person to read jess fic esp this one like. i was so intimidated by the fact that everyone had already read this and i had all of this knowledge of the vibe and how much everyone loved this that reading this almost felt like being introduced to a friend of a friend, ya know? this fic is Stunning. like i didn’t think it would be possible to be so impressed by college au world building at this point in my life (i’ve been reading college AUs for like. literally over a decade) but this little world that jess created was SO immersive. these characters were all so bright and i loved and cared for each and every one of them despite how many there were. i laughed, i cried. reading this reminded me why i love fan fiction and i feel so SO grateful to be in this fic space at the same time as jess.

helen has shared so many amazing stories but this one is always going to be my favorite. there’s so much soul and heart and love in this short little piece. i barely have the words for it. i started writing myself bc i felt inspired by the space that helen was helping to create a couple years ago and it’s pieces like this that i think had a lot of influence on the style i would try to adopt in certain ways. she’s so great at showing love in the little, quiet ways. pieces like this one feel like a secret and i’m so thankful i get to be in on it.

lol i’ve had the second part of this bookmarked on my computer for MANY years and just realized there was a third part to it i had never read. this is a niall fic, little slices of three different days from the perspective of Vee, niall’s assistant in a solo era world. reminds me of a lot of the reasons i love the emancipation of ginny. one of my favorite tropes, a bit of that ‘omg they’re so in love but just refuse to really fully acknowledge it’ kinda situation. only three little bits in this but through the bits of background you get such a FULL story (despite the fact that it’s technically not finished i think?). SUCH a comfort read, i’ve read this so many times that it feels like a cozy, worn cardigan. (also i’ve historically been SUPER picky with my niall fic and this one has really stood the test of time for me)

so i’ve never been a big self insert fic kinda girl. i think i just started out with OC fic so it was just this foreign thing to me for so long. i’m also a very big character person so when a character is really vague for the purpose to trying to be easy to fit a variety of looks and/or personalities into, i struggle to find enjoyment in it at times. but jesus christ, this story is cool. for me, reading this story gives the vibe of like a dream where you’re watching yourself do something? so despite the fact that it’s written in the second person, i don’t feel like i’m watching the story from the eyes of the OC. also despite all of the ‘you’s i just have never read this as a true self insert. i have an MC in my head that is very much a unique character. MC is a graduate psych student, Harry is her graduate advisor for a min and then later just a colleague. follows MC through her graduate studies. the setting and the story are just so pretty and lifelike. i think i read this for the first time in the winter while i was still in school which added a lot to the vibe. i return to this whenever i want cozier vibes.

i love a meg fic for so so many reasons. i love this one especially bc the tone of it to me feels like how you tell the story of a fun night out. it feels fun and silly like the stories you tell the night after the night out about all the wild shit you did in the early hours of that same day. i’ve always been very fond of this fic because meg posted it when i was feeling very VERY down about the world and it just made me smile. this fic feels like laughs after shots idk how to describe it just good fun. she is the cake QUEEN but i always found so much inspo in her earlier lashton pieces. they remind me of all the good things about summer 2020. i’m glad they can still take me back to those times of first getting to know some of the folks that i just love so dearly now (baggy salt forever <3)

🌱Currently Working On:

Fanfic/Small depressing story -> Summer Rain, which is a sequel to another writing I'm not done with. Summer Rain goes more into Vince losing his sensation of touch and registering the difference between hot and cold. It leads more into why he left in the middle of the night. Which is where my first one picks up.

Fanfic/Requested Story -> I Don't Want To Live Forever. I posted a small WIP section of this before. It's a small ship story for @crimsonixx with their O.C. Jess and Johnny. It's a wholesome story where they drive around NC on her bike late at night, enjoying each other's company. It's one of the times Johnny shows his more sensitive and "human" side.

Fanfic/Special Writing -> Small gift writing between my OC Vinessa/Vinny and another user's OC. I won't give too much away since they don't know I'm writing it. My favorite section so far is Ker screaming at Vinny from the upstairs bedroom window.

I have a whole lot more that I'm working on. I kinda bounce around from writing to writing. 90% of the time they get finished, it just takes a while. The other 10% get locked away and never see the light of day. :3

1. What was your whump awakening(s)?

Hm. I think I’ve always been a little obsessed with captivity. I went on a lot of Wikipedia spirals as a kid reading about all sorts of prisons and restraint methods. Devoured as much books as possible about Alcatraz and various prisons. And then I got into really really angsty media when I was probably far too young for it. I blame YA dystopias for that (specifically the good ones just below YA actually like The Shadow Children series and The Giver Quartet). But!!! That gave me the love of angst. And then I got into writing and putting my OCs into angsty situations. I will say my proper whump awakening was when I read Hazeshift by whumpwillow!!! Before that I had sort of looked into the whump community but discovering villain whump was what really made it click, you know.

7. Favorite whump fandom?

I don’t really do fandom stuff! However you must go read Vicious and Vengeful by VE Schwab they are the whumpiest books I’ve ever read. Look it’s about two college guys with hubris for days and a general callous disregard for others lives and then they die to get superpowers. And Victor literally gets himself tortured to death to be revived and then he and Eli try to kill each other and it’s amazing. Pls read it you will not be disappointed.

Actually probably. The only whump fanfic I’ve ever read is this one of Matt Engarde getting beat up. Honestly Matt Engarde is the only character I’ve ever wanted to read fanfic for. Specifically whumpy stuff. It’s pretty decent!!!!

13. Favorite physical whump trope?

OOOH OKAY THIS IS REALLY HARD TO CHOOSE. I gotta say it's a three way tie between starvation, whipping, and shock collars.

Look shock collars are the love of my life forever. The idea of having something tight around your next 24/7 is Top Tier Horror for me, a man who can barely stand sleeping in a t shirt cuz the collar's too close. Especially when it can totally wreck your shit cuz you know. Electrocution. Look it's just awesome. Give all your whumpees a shock collar and pull it a little too tight <2

Whipping is just pretty fun! Very slay, there's a lot of different types you can choose from, and the sounds are cool! Also I like how you can totally ruin someone with a whip. And whip scars are the best in whump!!

For Reasons that I will not be getting into, starvation always hits the spot for me as a trope <2. Idk man. Lots of things it can symbolize :D But also it's just. It is so much Horrors. And I love it. It's the closest thing you can be to dead while still being alive. Body deteriorating painfully, and you can feel every bit of it. The absolute desperation it brings. And the way it saps your ability to do anything at all. Idk man. It's just great all around. Probably will be one of my favorite tropes forever!

Terrible or Potentially Amazing Ship Ask (I threw in a few OC/Canon Characters but feel free to ignore): Angel/Melony, Max/Lake, Angel/Lake, Melony/Elizabeta, Melony/Alcina, Mia/Angel, Melony/Elizabeta

Aight I'mma start with the ones that I don't think work for one reason or another.

Angel/Melony

Alrigh so, the main problem with this one is… Angel doesn't date women pfff. Maybe in some AU where one of them is AMAB it would work but as is Angel wouldn't be into it. (Also I feel like Melon is lowkey scared of them). All that said, Angel would definatly awaken some things in Melony that Cassandra doesn’t.

Melony/Alcina

This one I have talked about, and it has the potential to be either really cute or really… weird. Because I think Melony would end up seeing Alcina as more of a motherly figure (and not in a "omg Mommy~" kind of way. Like a legit mom figure way) just because of how Alcina acts. Which makes for some weird…Oedipus type thing in my mind. It just rides a fine line to me and the thought weirds me out pfff.

Mia/Angel

Same reason as Mel and Angel, they don't date women. HOWEVER, I do think these two have a potential for an interesting relationship. Like, the idea of Mia dating a murderer feels really interesting because I think Angel would end up inadvertently giving Mia a kind of complex about the things she’s done. Mia confessing to Angel “I’ve killed innocent people.” and Angel being like “That’s so hot.” and basically telling Mia the shit she did isn’t a big deal. Not that it wasn’t her fault, or that she shouldn’t feel guilty/upset, but that they find it attractive and want details. Because that’s like… the shit they live for. (Watch that translate into their sex life somehow.) I do think the only real reason Angel would date/be attracted to Mia, though, would be genital preference.

Okay, now the others;

Max/Lake

Okay, so, I’ve said Max is straight before BUT this relationship is interesting because it would be a purely sexual thing since Lake is Aromantic. I don’t think Max would ever date a man, or an AMAB Non-Binary person like Lake. Sexually, however, I think he’s slightly more open. I think this would be kind of a… “We meet up to smoke pot and sometimes we hook up” type of thing. Like it’s very Friends with Benefits. I feel like they have great sex, though. Max definitely leads/doms, but they’re both switches for sure, and Lake doesn’t mind getting pulled around. And you know they can go for hours. I don’t think they cuddle or do a whole lot of after stuff, because it’s just not their thing. (It’s also a weird thing of like… Max fucks them, because they want it [and they’re a good lay], but he doesn’t hold any major attraction towards them) Outside of sex, they’re still friendly, but you can tell they aren’t like… besties or anything.

Angel/Lake

I like the idea of this one, but I also feel like it would be kind of one sided. It would start off as a sex thing, that over time Angel begins to take as some kind of romantic relationship (even though Lake never said anything about romance). Lowkey I think it would get kind of stalker-ish/yandere-ish (as much as I hate that word). Lake thinks Angel is really cool and they like hanging out with them for sure, and I think they could grow to have a strong platonic love for Angel, but I also thing there’s some part of Angel that would be upset over Lake not liking them romantically. Overall, a really interesting relationship, but probably inevitably ends badly.

Melony/Elizabeta

SO GOOD IT’S ON HERE TWICE! This is the top tier out of all of these imo. You know these two are HEALTHY AS FUCK. It’s soft and squishy and fucking adorable. You just know they’re both such gay disasters. Melony is embarrassed everytime Liza picks her up and carries her around. Liza is always blushing and clumsy around Melony, and you know Mel finds it adorable. Mel loves hearing Liza talk about plants and explain how they work, Liza always tries to help Mel bake despite knowing jack shit about it. They’re sitting by the fireplace with hot chocolate just snuggling together. Melon is devastated when Liza has to go to Donna’s, but they come over as often as possible and I feel like at some point, when Donna and Liza are closer, Donna would just… ask Alcina if she can have Melony as well, and then the two of them just live at Donna’s. And I think they’d be okay with that.

just for fun, i'm gonna rank every single couple in my masterlist from best to worst :) (based on compatibility, soulmate-ability, overall romance, chemistry, their future etc.) - top ten are my ideal otps. top three are the for REALSIES otp

!SPOILER ALERTS!

1 - legends of darlaria (myg/jjk) lod is first for a lot of things on my blog. i'd say it wins best couple, highest wordcount, longest series, first two-member fic i've ever written, first explicitly magic-based story! as of yet, we haven't gotten to the meat of the romance, but the endgame couple is absolutely unstoppable. i don't think i've ever written two people more perfect for each other. they balance each other out in every way possible <3

2 - over the moon (myg) otm used to have the title of the #1 otp on my blog, but it's recently been bested by lod. the otm couple falls short in that their romantic journey is a lot shorter. lod's romance progression is much more natural (and takes years to become fruitful), while otm's romance can be interpreted as merely circumstantial. but otm still stands as #2 because the couple there—in my opinion—are SOULMATE MATERIAL. their chemistry, their dialogue, yoongi choosing OC over his "family??" i love these two together so much (and maybe because i'm biased since this is the type of romance that i would personally love to have)

3 - love yourself trilogy (pjm) before otm, ly tril was the #1 otp on my blog LOL. the couple has been through thick and thin. they've been tested by everything you can possibly think of in a modern couple: cheating, scary mothers-in-law, drifting apart, breakups, jealousy, etc. the only reason that they're now in third place is... well, the lod couple and otm couple have gone through objectively crazier challenges (a war??? the mafia???)

4 - sticky notes (myg) an absolutely BEAUTIFUL couple. however, while the top three otps are soulmates, i wouldn't go as far as to call these two that as well. but the reason that this couple ranks so high is that they're representational of a mellow but consistent romance. in their story, they also showed that they can bounce back from a fight! i think there's something beautiful about showing your love in other ways than spoken words. and though this couple hasn't gone through as much as the others below them in the rankings, their compatibility breaks traditional romance. they care for each other in unconventional ways, but it fits their styles. this is the biggest reason i ranked them higher than the ignis fatuus couple

5 - ignis fatuus (jjk) now this couple has been through shit. i mean, a zombie apocalypse? damn, could it get any worse? but throughout the course of the story, they evolved from simple acquaintances to close companions. though they never explicitly get into a relationship, if they did get into one, i'd see them going very far. it's not easy to care for someone at the level that they did during absolute fucking chaos. usually, in zombie apocalypse movies, it's every man for themselves. but they loved each other, and it showed in the way that they'd risk their life for each other

6 - (our very own) camaraderie (jjk) ideally, this couple would be placed higher than ignis fatuus. but they weren't placed in a life-or-death situation as the couple above were. and though their romance mostly blossomed when they were younger (high school), they showed emotional maturity by being able to console each other when distressed. and despite their rocky start, they grew into two amazingly compatible people! i think their chemistry is top-tier!!

7 - for everland (myg) another couple that's been through shit. their relationship was significantly shorter than the others', but they're still a formidable couple on my blog. definitely underrated. i think their romance is intriguing because it shows that love means you don't hang on. you learn to let go. you learn to take action to right the wrongs. the main character didn't even know what love was until she met yoongi! i think that's deserving to be in the top 10

8 - where the colors fade (jjk) i adore this couple. i wouldn't normally rank a uh, "doomed" relationship so high, but even after his death, OC remembers him, cherishes her memories with him—even though this all happened when they were much younger. i do believe they were soulmates to be but their time together got cut short

9 - into the spiritual realm (pjm) i think there's nothing more beautiful than two lost people coming together and becoming found LOL (as pretentious as that may sound). but in all seriousness, the itsr couple is steady, grounded, and i expect their relationship to last for literally ever. despite that, their ranking is on the lower side of top ten, because much more of the focus of itsr was on the main character's growth as a person. the romance was there, but not as powerful enough to be a top 5 otp

10 - a kiss to forever (myg) the last couple to steal the top ten spot! this couple is ~complicated~ and i feel like not everyone will agree with this placement. but i think the kind of love that they have for each other is slow, steady and growing. yoongi's supposedly dead; however, he becomes warmer, more amicable for OC. OC, on the other hand, goes through this journey of self-reflection. ultimately, they realize they belong with each other. and though OC's choice at the end is technically a depressing one, death is forever. and she chose eternity to be with yoongi. i think that's romantic. the only reason that they're in the last spot in the top ten (and not any higher) is that i can't help but doubt if OC would've made the same decision if she were older. maybe she was just in the slumps. what if she went to therapy, and began trying once again? i feel like that would totally change the tide. but then again, yoongi's boss did allude to the fact that they're practically soulmates

11 - the talent finder (jhs) another great couple! both have so much to grow and love and learn from each other. i love dynamic relationships, where each partner is able to grow into a better person because of the other. this is that relationship. they haven't been through immense tragedy or anything (why it missed top ten), but i find the start to their relationship pure and sweet. this is a couple that will definitely last

12 - our love like fibonacci (knj) now this is actual universe-given romance. it's ranked 12th and not higher because technically, i would argue that joon's not in love with the same person every time she reincarnates. her environment and upbringing mold her into a slightly different person every time. some versions of her have more chemistry with him than the others

13 - true love at first sight (jhs) this is similar to the talent finder, but the only reason that it's lower is that the learning curve is much steeper for the main character than it is for hoseok. they're still a beautiful relationship, and their love progresses very nicely, but i wouldn't guarantee that they would last. overall, their chemistry is lacking compared to the couples above them. hence, they didn't make top ten

14 - the exam (kth) i think that the romance here was cut short. it had so much potential!!! and though the period in which our two protagonists met wasn't that long, i think they'd make wonderful partners just by nature. then balance each other as well as complement each other. if their romance was a little longer, i would've ranked them higher

15 - propinquity (law of seesaw) (jjk) this is probably surprising. they broke up. yes, BUT somewhere inside of me thinks that they could still be a wonderful couple. the way that they resolved and compromised their conflicts!!! i'd say that they handled their issues better than some couples who are still together LOL. their chemistry is also undeniable. it's a shame that they decided that they were better off without each other. but they're both people who value their own freedom

16 - redefining destiny (jjk) interestingly enough, this isn't as high as you'd expect for an actual soulmate!au LOL. it's true that these two have literally fallen out of love to fall back in again... BUT, i personally don't think their chemistry was draw-joppingly good. i'm sure they'll get married, but i think they're just another average couple

17 - vernacular (knj) a romantic story. except... there's not really a future for the couple 💀

18 - across the madness (ksj) these two went through a LOT. (like literally.) but i'm not sure those experiences will change them completely. they might go on a couple of coffee dates and realize that they're not right for each other. their romance was most likely possible because they only had each other to lean on during their journey. but i could also be totally wrong. they could end up being endgame... however, the fact that i have to flip flop like this isn't quite a good sign. they're just a little too different

19 - on a cold summer day (ksj) the romance was there! it was, in fact, a relatively fluffy story. the only problem is, it reads as your typical college first dating experience. also, tinder

20 - the time traveler's playbook (kth) see, now this, i thought i would rank higher. but then i realized... there's not much actual romance at all. we just know that taehyung is very idealistic (hopeless romantic, if you will) and he's dead set on having his original wife come back alive. but how much does he really know about her anyway? the romance here just reads one-sided. it's mostly taehyung's journey—what lengths he will go through to find his love. and though they're also definitely a healthy couple, the couples above them have had much more screen time and better chemistry

21 - change of plans (ksj) one word: tinder

22 - lack of apathy (jhs) this is strange. the whole fic is about a horrible fight, yet they're not rated dead last. (but that's because the last few bottom spaces are reserved for the ~friends~ lol.) but i think the fact that they had this crazy fight shows that they care about each other. i think they would get back together and try again (and be successful!)

from 23 and below, there is little romance

23 - prescient (kth) the couple is together (and quite cute); however, their romance isn't centric to the story

24 - it runs wild (knj) they would not work out after the story ends LOL. but during the story, i would wholeheartedly believe in their romance. either that... or be suspicious if joon had ulterior motives

25 - of significant figures (knj) your average married couple

26 - whipped with a cherry on top (kth) a typical college romance. wouldn't exactly see it going too far

27 - insurrection (it's about time) (pjm) jimin idolized OC; OC never loved him back. however, they do still care about each other in a way that is beautiful. if not romantic love then friendship love.

28 - appetence (ksj) seokjin idolized OC; OC never loved him back. but it's worse than insurrection because they're both dead

29 - don't look back (ksj) seokjin idolized OC. OC did love him back. but their characters are too different. i don't see them working out. also, i'm not sure if OC really knows what love means

30 - fleeting forevers (pjm) there is a possibility of romance here, but i just think they're better friends

31 - resonance (kth) well... this was really just a schooltime "fling." logistically, it would not work out. unless taehyung sprouted legs

32 - cuss out (jjk) no way. i imagine that they'll go on one date and never see each other again

33 - tomorrow's another problem (knj) he was just acting 💀

34 - too young, too old (pjm) the imagination got too vivid in this one

35 - nothing a lil green can't fix (pjm) again, better off as friends! like they've 100% friendzoned each other. they are besties. they are meant to be this way

36 - all you see is blue (jjk) this "couple" is worse than fics like tyto and tomorrow's another problem because at least part of the feelings in those stories was really some version of love. but these two were only fond of the ideas of each other

this is gonna be a very very long post (so read at your own peril), ’cause knowing me, I’ll end up explaining the whole ass universe lol and go on about twenty tangents. Hold on to your barf-bags again; I can’t tell a coherent story for the life of me….

I’m just gonna start w saying that Selene and Dyani aren’t the main main characters of this; this person is. Her name’s Kira and she’s the current host of the ‘world spirit’, which is just the spirit of the four elements. She’s also the princess (sister to the queen) of a place called ‘Hiemsnest’ (where most of the story takes place and where Selene is from) and her name’s not actually Kira, but she uses that name when she’s vigilante-ing bc she can’t fight injustice as a princess lol (that’s really the best way I can put it — not going into too much details w her bc that’ll spoil the story?).

That leads me into a messy segue into why Selene is thrown out to the wolves as a baby. Selene is born under the rule of Kira’s (well- Princess Illania’s) grandfather, the Mad King Eiran. He’s hella against the Old Gods and the hosts, because he wants everyone to worship the monotheistic religion of the country. So he basically makes it illegal/against their religion to be a spirit host, and Selene’s parents are super religous. So they yeet her out and then she’s taken in by the Hunter spirit host dude (who hasn’t got a name yet).

Luckily, Kira’s father overthrows her grandfather about three years later, and he’s a nice person and makes it totally fine to be spirit host thing (mainly bc his wife, Kira’s mother, is one). So that’s not an issue.

BUT ANYWAY the hunterspiritdude also has a cool backstory(ish). He’s a member of a race called the Altira, which are pretty much just people with wings and bird feet lol. He was a bounty hunter, but got on the wrong side of an organisation and they tried to kill him (this is the same one that actually kills him when he’s older/ same one that Selene wipes out). They believed they had succeeded, but they didn’t. They did, however, blind him, and leave him with only one wing, which can’t have been fun for him. So yeah, he learns how to use his heightened senses to ‘see’. When he takes Selene under his wing (haha get it), she eventually ends up copying his powers and so he teaches her how to do the same. He also teaches her to fight n crap, which is how she becomes such a good archer. After that, I’m pretty rest of her backstory is covered in the other ask…

Now onto Dyani, who’s backstory has so. much. stuff. (partially bc it factors a lot into the main story, but mainly bc I love it) so I’m still gonna leave some things out (only bc I cannot be bothered to write it all lol)

Dyani is born in the Elven capital, Helis. (It’s based off Meridian in Horizon Zero Dawn if you want an idea of what it’s like). Her father is the captain of the royal vanguard and her mother is a priest, so she’s born fairly high up. Bc of this, she ends up befriending Princess Atheia, the niece of the Elven king. She also befriends the son of some palace staff, Alexio, and the three of them become a best friends. Anyway, Dyani suspected to be the host of the Sun from her birth bc of her blonde hair and gold eyes (the sun hosts always have blond hair and gold eyes). But both she and her father are massively in denial about that until it’s proven, because they know that it would mean she’s worshipped like a god and doesn’t get a normal life/childhood (she still gets random people praying near her/ at her even when she’s a kid). Things kinda go to shit for her when she’s 14 bc when she’s sparring with her older sister, she accidentally unleashes the sun powers, which undoubtedly proves her to be the Sun’s blessed. After that, she doesn’t get much of her own life bc everyone that sees her starts praying at her, and she’s ofc treated and worshipped like a god all the time. Her dad is pretty much the only person who still treats her normally. So when she’s nearly 18, she decides that she’s had enough. She wants to go somewhere where nobody will worship her or anything, where she has control. So, with the help of her friends Atheia and Alexio, she escapes the capital and makes her way out of the Elven lands. She settles in Hiemsnest (bc people don’t give a crap about spirit hosts), and meets Selene a few months later. And eventually they end up forming the Outlaws with the communication spirit host, a dude called Alek Sigwald, and the knowledge spirit host, a werewolf named Rylen Blaine. Together, they fight injustice n all that crap (and do a bit of bounty hunter work on the side). And yeah, after that it’s pretty much just what will hopefully be the main story!

I think you should go for it! ST fans can be sort of... intense but honestly if they cant handle criticism of their fav series then they should just like. not interact with the post (or get blocked if theyre assholes abt it). Also I'm interested now that you mention it!

i would talk about the racism issue solely, but it’s a fundamental problem with the 2nd season as a whole. it is sort of imbedded deep in the season and there’s no good way to properly discuss it without bringing up a lot of other stuff.

overall i do think season 2 is a great season of television. it just happens to be the worst stranger things season, but at the end of the day it’s still rlly good! a lot of iconic parts of stranger things originate from s2, steve’s redemption and his relationship with dustin, el and hopper’s relationship, the introduction of max and billy, etc. however, you can tell this season was written in under a year with all the questionable turns they took and the choices they made (cough cough what they did with billy and whatever 008’s deal was cough cough) but i’ll get to that.

a big issue with it is the pacing. its very long and drags on and the different storylines are not as interconnected as they are in the 1st and 3rd. 9 episodes and they spend a lot of time trudging onward toward the actual plot, the whole existence of episode 8 and that awful fucking cliff hanger, yeah.

unlike in the 1st season and the 3rd, the characters are split up because the duffers are aware that if they had been together from the beginning everything could have been solved immediately. compare that to the other seasons and the characters are split up because they are tackling different chunks of the same big mystery, them meeting up in the end and exchanging information feels more natural.

that also connects into the whole plotline with eleven.. it was set up beautifully but fell flat on its face almost immediately. i feel that the stuff with her mother was extremely well done, the cold opening with 008/kali was top tier and rlly gets you excited for everything. and then they deliver the “spinoff pilot” episode; it has good moments sure but kali as a character (and her gang as well) feel like badly written ocs. their dialogue is also Atrocious, good god. kali also has no real connection to the lab aside from being a number and getting her angsty edgy revenge? she doesn’t rlly teach us anything new about the lab or her and el’s backstory, which is a damn shame :(

there’s also max. i do rlly like her but her “not like other girls” introduction was a little bit gross imo. i think they did a good job rounding her out by the end; the romance plot with lucas was a little unnecessary and weird tho lol. that’s about it with her, otherwise i see why she’s a fan favorite :]

and then of course there is the elephant in the room, billy. it’s kind of a hard thing to talk about because there was so little tact in writing him and this entire thing. i just feel like, billy is a pretty tragic character overall, not just because of what they did to him but his purpose as well? i don’t know if most people are aware, but billy’s whole purpose and the reason behind his introduction was him getting possessed and dying (though, they didn’t have the full plot for s3 down yet). he was a character brought in to uplift steve and make him look better, he was created solely to be a piece of shit. honestly, it feels a little sucky to me.. he was written to be a 2D bully/villain, which rlly sucks because as far as i can tell a lot of the characters are not set up to be so two dimensional.

the characters are a big part of why the show works so well, they feel incredibly real and fleshed out (aside from the russians in s3 but thats a whole different topic, idk if i’m fully equipped to cover it). his actor had to come in and ask them if billy could have a little more to his character than that. he was trying hard to make this character meaningful and have a little more to him than just being a 2D jackass. i feel like his character would have been a total waste if not for the changes they made to him, especially with how talented his actor is. god and the decision to make him vaguely racist? Fucking Awful.

from what i understand the duffers were the one who wanted the subplot in the first place. kind of gross because they are two very white men who wouldn’t even begin to understand what goes into a subject like this, let alone how unnecessary the whole thing was. i like the show but at the end of the day it was still pretty immature at the time and not built for such heavy subject matter.. and the way they executed it really fucking shows that. they drop vague hints but never actually commit, the scenes are incredibly uncomfortable and not in a thought provoking way like they wanted. if they did talk with black writers and try to understand their experiences, or hell just have them write the damn thing, it really doesn’t show.

it also just fucking sucks for lucas as a character. they do so little with him and then they subject him to a very prominent trope in media— they couldn’t just let lucas be a black main character in a cool sci fi horror setting, something that is incredibly rare mind you, they HAD to make being discriminated against a part of his storyline. as a black person it honestly just breaks my heart that he and other black characters are reduced to discrimination and always in such a tasteless way.

for the third season, they somewhat retconned the whole thing. probably due to backlash. on one hand i’m incredibly grateful because the whole thing felt rlly disgusting and i like billy as a character. but on the other i am disappointed that they did. they made a shitty decision and instead of committing and writing it better, they just swept it under the rug.

this is all a matter of opinion though, if any other black users find anything wrong with my statements about the use of racism in the show feel free to let me know.

the whole thing just kinda sucks, this show is pretty great otherwise. but something like this is only inevitable in any popular media.

You got your mysterious Revali waking up 105 years later batter, and your angsty PTSD gay boys duo chocolate chips, and then you can chuck in some engaging sideplot elements as a few tall tiers, and then the cake is all whipped up with the wooden spoon of subtextual writing just mmmm delicious. and ALSO I betaed a thing that is gonna happen and let me tell you shit is gonna happen like VERY IMPORTANT SUPER COOL plot twists be happening so you better read it 

- Conversations After The End Of The World by @bismuthllie Ok this one’s a oneshot but I always go back and read it because...idk it just strums my heart strings a lot...I’ve said Pinesong was my first big Revalink fic I’ce read, but this was like...my first, first piece of Revalink content I read ever so...yeah <3 ....and also the art for this comic is fantastic too even thought it gives me the emotions......hahaha ok Revali it’s time to stop being dead

Ah man, I’m sorry but I’m not the best person to ask this to! I started this sideblog cause I had too many followers on my main and I didn’t want my stuff to be seen by that many people at first, so whatever I did probably isn’t what you’re looking for :( but really there isn’t much to it, just post whatever you like to draw, tag it as best as you can (but remember that only the first five tags appear in the search page) and be patient, since whatever you do at first you won’t get much attention anyway - the only real advice I can give is to draw something that makes you happy and that you’d draw anyway even if no one were to see it, it’ll make keep posting despite a possible lack of activity a lot easier!

He doesn’t like bothersome things, he isn’t very good at taking anything seriously or putting effort in stuff, but he’s very chill to spend time with and generally a nice chat both if you want mindless thoughts or deep conversations (he’s a philosophy major after all).
