okay wait absolutely insane that brennan asks murph what riz is most afraid of, and he says “being wrong” and “not being able to save kristen,” but instead of yes and-ing, brennan hits him back with

no actually, riz is still working through his asexuality and is deathly afraid of everyone coupling up and forgetting about him in favor of their more important significant others

i think murph is so good at playing riz that he agrees that riz’s biggest fear is failure, but he truly knows it’s just the surface-level concern that’s covering the real fear of being left behind by all the people he cares about, because he’s not like them and he’ll likely never be like them no matter how much he wants to or pretends to be

okay so imagine you’re in a relationship and your partner suddenly drops off the face of the earth, and their sister admits to getting rid of them via major head injury so she could take their place in you guys’ start-up business instead, but you just kind of have to let her bc the higher ups say so

then about two months pass and suddenly your partner is back! and their weird sister was evidently telling the truth; they don’t remember anything about you or your shared business plans, and also they’ve got a ton of new friends and a new s/o in tow, and they’ve just finished killing your third business partner

so now the two of you are on opposite sides of a war and your (ex?)partner is actively hunting you and their sister down to stop the plan for world domination that they helped create!

what i’m saying is that gortash is essentially the hallmark movie love interest that got left behind, and i think he deserves some credit for being as normal as he is about it

also i love that i was planning to make a post about “hey so when does riz start to get all dark and mysterious with a bunch of tattoos” only to find out, no, he just got suuuuuper fucked up one night and decided he needed his entire clue board permanently inscribed on his body like the nerd he’s always been and always will be

i love that everyone’s having this heartfelt conversation like “dick we’re so glad you’re back etc etc” and tim bursts in with “IT WAS THE PURPLE WIRE” bc he’s (rightfully) proud that the entire hospital did not blow up

i’m so obsessed with panel, there’s so much happening despite absolutely nothing happening. dick with his gold chain while in a suit jacket, damian’s phone out at the table, bruce struggling with what looks to be sushi during christmas dinner??? amazing. why is any of this happening

something i just realized about the “you were my robin” / “we were the best” little moments between dick and damian is that damian’s already fourteen by this point, it’s been so long since they had their batman-and-robin dynamic, but it was still such an important time in their lives!!! they keep bringing it up and i love it!!

what if one of the reasons viktor isn’t credited on the hexgate designs at the end is because they would’ve had to write it as “viktor and jayce talis” and that may have sounded a little too romantic for christian linke

so i know it’s not technically tim saying this, but i was so on board with his little dip into villainy mindset here lol. like yeah, jason and damian get their free acts of violence while tim (and dick) have been trapped in “good kid sat between the loud kids in class” mode where they can’t step a toe out of line for years

maybe they deserve a little violence for once!!

so obviously emily and murph kept their last names when getting married bc they’re public figures, but i also like to think they stayed the same bc emily’s last name is axford and that’s cool as hell, she can’t swap that out for murphy!

but also murph can’t take emily’s last name because then what will they call him? brian? no! he’d have to be murph axford and that’s also not quite right
