If you've read all of my narilamb fics (have you seriously? I'm impressed, that's probably well over half the 150k+ I've written for this damn fandom. Also, to anyone seeing this from a reblog, my stuff is over at onethirdofimpossible!) then here we go!

You already mentioned it, but The Rehabilitation of Death is excellent so far! This one is by @bamsara who is new to the CotL fandom but apparently not new to fanfic writing; they have a really popular FNAF fic and I assume the well-deserved attention this fic's been getting is a byproduct of the popularity they've already gotten in other fandoms. :D Welcome, bamsara! Many of the fic writers in this fandom are friends with each other already, but we don't bite if you wanna say hi.

Feel No Evil and Language Barrier, both by @payasita. I always love how payasita portrays this duo (in both digital art and writing), with so much sass and repressed loneliness, knowing they're stuck together for eternity and making the best of it. (And maybe falling in love, depending on how dense Narinder keeps being.) What makes these come alive for me is how well thought out the setting is outside the Lamb and Narinder. The descriptions and weight of emotions really pop here.

LITERALLY ANYTHING written by pavi / @i-eat-deodorant. Depending on how spicy you want your fics to be he has even more here. Character analysis, diction, pacing, etc. are consistently 10/10. Top-quality banter between a sassy Lamb and tired old man Narinder. We constantly bounce ideas off each other and inspire each other a lot but I promise I'm not hyping him up just because he's my friend oh my god please just go bless your eyes.

It Was For You, O Death by blueberry-muffin-massacre (if they have a tumblr, let me know so I can tag!). An intriguing alternative ending to the final battle wherein the Lamb chooses a secret third option by refusing to give up the Red Crown and still observing Narinder as the God of Death. So many details are so well thought out and duality their relationship is nicely characterized-- both genuine care for each other and also quite unhealthy. A fine line treaded well!

Confessional by jusmove (again, lmk if they have a tumblr). Been a while since I've read it, but I love how the Lamb chips at Narinder's very carefully built emotional walls. Their personalities are very well fleshed out here, especially Narinder's cognitive dissonance at being able to process love.

Confession by @thewitchoftheweed. I didn't expect a part two to this one, but my god I was so thrilled when it did update. Narinder and Lamb with their unique and parallel loneliness and their fucked-up sense of everything. Their relationship is very rocky here, and I love how they navigate it: with tension and eventual, pained acceptance. Mind the rating.

Of Character Development and Being Dense by @calliecature. A short and sweet narilamb classic. They're both mutually pining and one of them is too emotionally repressed to realize it. Guess who.

Not An Offering, But a Gift by @checkplzjuliet. Small confession fic. I especially love how Narinder's descriptions twist the knife of his situation here, and how Lambert is a total foil for him! There are a lot of good things happening in such a short span, which is impressive.

Also, if you think you've read all my narilamb fics... I do have a secret one out there too. Just so you know.

Despite his fluctuating work-life and raising his sister all on his own, he makes sure to engage with you as much as possible. While Mike can't afford to take you on dates, he spoils you at home and gives you the strongest hospitality anyone can offer. His highlights are hearing about your day, rambling about your interests. He barely thinks about talking about himself (let's be honest, you're all Mike thinks about).

He'd definitely not understand the lore you're fixated on sometimes, but he'll listen regardless.

Painfully shy around you. He gets nervous even asking you for a hug or kiss. Mike hesitates to hold your hand in public or share romantic gestures in fear you'll be disgusted by his lack of experience for affection. He's always delighted (and relieved) when you melt at the feel of his touch.

Cuddling! God, he loves it. His pills do help him sleep, but you help him relax. Mike prefers spooning you, his arms wrapped around your body is something magical, at least to him. He sleeps much better with you.

Anytime Mike flashes away from his nightmares, it helps him dramatically to wake up to you backed up against his chest. Sometimes he'd lazily wake up, desperate for some type of comfort. A lot of mornings were encouragement and warm hugs, which was more than another for both of you.

Mike is very clingy. Due to his trauma of Garett being kidnapped at a young age, he gets incredibly worried when you're gone for too long, especially if you're late.

So damn awkward when he's meeting and/or visiting people you know. Mike cannot socialize with anybody for the life of him. He doesn't bother telling you though. As long as you're enjoying yourself, he'll bare whatever is bothering him if it means seeing you this way.

Very protective. If he ever sees anybody making you uncomfortable (or if he even thinks so) Mike goes ballistic. Sometimes restoring to violence depending on how severe it is. He definitely feels bad afterwards, especially due to embarrassing you like that.

Will intentionally wear shirts/sweaters you like. Mike craves your validation, and loves the feeling of you complimenting him. (Give him a hug, please!) + Gets weak when you fix his tie or adjust his shirt collars.

Marking! Marking! Marking! (Giving + Receiving), I definitely see Mike giggling as he's kissing you or being kissed. His laugh is definitely infectious, and charming to see.

Loves it when you play with his hair, especially when you're cuddling. Slipping your fingers through his curls drives him crazy and makes him melt.

Mike definitely loves pet names, but I imagine he'd love your name much more. He holds it as stronger than any title ever. For him, personally he'd take whatever you call him, Mike is sweet like that.

You cannot tell me that you playing/interacting with Abby destroys his heart (in a good way). Seeing you as a parental figure to her makes him so happy, I bet he cries in joy thinking about it.

Sometimes he's so stressed from work to the point he'll fall into your arms for comfort in an attempt to channel his internal hardships.

Mike is definitely the sweetest kisser ever, not very experienced but he still gives you butterflies. Will hold you every time you kiss, making you feel secure every time. Even if it's a light peck, his hands will either be wrapped around your back, briefly caressing your sides or tight on your shoulders.

Speaking of kisses, he 100% gets lightheaded after them and giggles like a teenager after.

Uses his puppy-dog eyes a lot, even without realizing it.

Says "please" + "sorry" way too much. Absolute sweetheart.

Wears those goofy aprons when he cooks, he doesn't know you think it's cute/funny. Mike likes them way too much.

Hates public areas so much, prefers peaceful walks where it's quiet. Loud noises stresses him out.

Mike cannot tell sarcasm, info dumps or complicated jokes. He'd either just tilt his head in confusion or giggle in an attempt to make it look he understood.

Feels so guilty when you give him money or gifts and he can't repay it. Mike is a giver !

Such a comforter, he'll always listen to you vent, even if he's dead tired from his job. Bet Mike would hold you tightly, telling you everything will be okay.

Mike is pretty private about his feelings, especially his trauma. He's more focused on you on anything !

What's with Balloon Boy and the Daycare Attendant?

The Balloon World arcade machine exists, it's in the DA's room and both characters are involved in it. It's probably one of the most cryptic minigames in the FNAF series as a whole, but while we could ponder what exactly it's supposed to mean (maybe I'll do that for all the security breach minigames eventually), the main question I have is this:

WHY Balloon Boy specifically? Why is the minigame about HIM?

Is there a connection between the two characters? Or was it a completely random decision?

Out of nowhere, thinking about Balloon World, I came to a realization:

The Lights.

Balloon Boy's entire gimmick in FNAF 2 was that if he got into your office, he would disable your flashlight and vent lights (...somehow. I know we all make the jokes about him taking the batteries [and then that FNAF 57: Freddy In Space thing in FNAF World said he just straight-up steals your entire flashlight], but you never see the battery icon disappear or appear empty in FNAF 2 itself when he gets into your office. And the vent lights also stop working, so unless they also operate on batteries, then... does he actually take them from you?).

What's the one rule in the daycare?

Keep the lights on.

His mechanic is the antithesis to what Sun wants and exactly what Moon would want. Balloon Boy doesn't keep the lights on. He prevents you from turning them on at all.

(which also makes me kinda sad there wasn't a Glamrock version of BB. Then again, I don't know how exactly he would've uniquely affected like anything. Regardless I am hoping for the day someone in the fandom makes a glamrock bb who is arch-enemies with sun and gets along well with moon skseijdndndnd-)

It feels kinda obvious and I'm guessing I'm not the only person to think about this, but I have never seen anyone else bring this up. Not on YouTube, not on tumblr, nowhere. Maybe if I go looking for it I'll see, but i'm surprised I haven't bumped into anyone else saying this just naturally. I go into the BB tags a LOT, surely SOMEONE would've said something, right? I don't even see it noted in the trivia on the page for the arcade game on the fnaf wiki.

...but is this supposed to mean anything? Or is it just a cute little reference or callback? it's hard to say, especially with how ambiguous the minigame is.

Though I DID think of ONE thing... (possible minor spoilers for Ruin under the cut):

Saw this pointed out in a youtube video that the BB World screen (with Eclipse, who makes their proper debut in Ruin after effectively being foreshadowed by the minigame in SB's base game) can be seen on the ceiling in the DA's room. Which makes sense, obviously, but also take note of the pirate-themed windows in the hallway leading to it.

...now, which character do most of us tend to associate with Balloon Boy? His "tag-team partner," of sorts?

Foxy. The Pirate.

With this, I found that there's more Foxy-related stuff associated with the daycare area than I had previously realized because I had never made any connections before. I mean, Kids' Cove is directly linked to it for god's sake.

Like. I hope i haven't forgotten to mention anything (I've been writing this post over the course of hours 'Cus I had stuff to do in the middle of it all). My brain's kinda starting to fry. But basically: Was Foxy originally meant to be the Daycare Attendant, in-universe? Was there gonna be a Glamrock Balloon Boy with him, like as his first mate or something??? Were they gonna be connected to Fazbear Theater????? (Uh basically Sun/Moon to my knowledge from confirmation in the books and a lot of more subtle implications in-game mainly involving environmental pieces were originally meant to be in the Fazbear Theater as a stage animatronic but got moved to daycare duty instead and being reprogrammed. Which actually explains a lot about them when you think about it-)

Like. Ok I'm forgetting where I was going with this, I'm sorry, but I guess it's food for thought/adds to the weird connections between DA and BB, I guess. Idk. I can't focus that well right now to keep making new ideas.

felt like sharing my interpretation of the Balloon World minigame itself at least since earlier I did kinda finally get it down concretely:

I kinda developed a theory that Eclipse is Sun/Moon's "safe mode" and that rebooting DA reactivated Eclipse as a result. Like, they're their own AI that was at one point implemented. but then Vanny happened and locked them out thanks to the whole Glitchtrap virus thing (albeit it only seemed to reach Moon, while Sun remains seemingly unaffected. Guessing it's because they're different AIs [finally implied/basically confirmed by their Ruin dialogue). Eclipse has seemingly not been active for some time, or at least never post-pizzaplex closure, given how they're seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that this place is closed with no signs of opening.

So the minigame was foreshadowing Eclipse's existence and implying their "trapped" nature, which also could be seen as paralleling Vanessa's whole "Vanny" situation, especially given how iirc one of the messages related to princess quest can be found near the arcade machine.

ok i’m gonna stop being silly and just specify that i’ve never posted anything to AO3 and probably never will (i’m better at drawing than writing) but i used to post fics on wattpad when i was 10-15 years old. i wrote warrior cats, FNAF, and TMNT fanfics. i have attempted to write FE3H fanfiction before. key word “attempted”

5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

when i wrote stuff on wattpad i ALWAYS responded to comments and i totally let them get to me. i am far more socially anxious now than i was as a kid; i unfortunately have a tendency to doubt the intentions of even the nicest commenters and just nice people in general (i am very mentally ill and i am working on it). even with posting art on tumblr where everybody is so nice i get nervous about responding to people. to all the folks that have sent me dms or asks or comments and i never responded, i am so sorry </3 i’m tryin to be better about that.

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

can’t remember lol but it was probably warrior cats knowing middle school me. i loved making the cats murder each other gruesomely and have all of their loved ones betray them/get killed

7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

can’t remember which fics i actually ended but i would say the happiest was probably the FNAF one…? “the bad guys are defeated and all the ghost kids are friends and get to spend the rest of eternity happily ever after yay” basically

8) Do you get hate on fics?

can’t get hate on fics if you don’t post them B) no but actually. i remember getting some judgemental comments on my FNAF fanfic when i was 11 but it was definitely deserved i had no clue what i was doing LOL

9) Do you write smut?

bestie, i can’t even draw sexual stuff, let alone write about it. 

as a sex-repulsed asexual i don’t get much (if any at all) enjoyment out of thinking about sexual interactions. but on occasion a character will grip me by the scruff of my scruff and i will draw something suggestive, maybe naked, doing a pin-up pose perhaps, but never actively engaging or anticipating sex. i tried to draw a penis once and cried. not trying that again

10) Do you write crossovers?

i don’t write <3 i draw them sometimes though! usually just for shits and giggles of my blorbos interacting

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

oh my god, i remember that there was another 11 year old on wattpad that copied my FNAF fanfic plot exactly and i was SO mad. but it easily could’ve just been in my head and they were doing their own thing without ever having read my fanfics. i have no idea genuinely

13) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

yes, multiple! my warrior cats stuff and TMNT stuff was always collaborative, and even the FNAF stuff too i always accepted input from other people. when i do write, i prefer it to be collaborative, it helps me get out of my own head a whole lot better. i’ve written lots of stuff with @merlyybird, especially in high school, but it wasn’t fanfiction. though recently they have suggested that they try to help me write my werelion dimidue au fic….ooooouuuughguhghghh

14) What's your all-time favorite ship?

this is so hard. i’m just gonna say wolverine x nightcrawler x colossus (fastball triple) as they’ve all been my darlings since i was very small. i probably shipped them before i knew what being gay was

15) What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

my werelion dimidue au </3 i just have very little confidence in my writing skills :’) it’s up in the air whether this will ever return from the depths of my docs 

16) What are your writing strengths?

my gut instinct is to say “none” but i’m gonna try to give myself some credit here. i’m good at character writing for sure. i’m good at coming up with solutions to problems and expanding upon basic ideas when collaborating with other people; i frequently do this with merly when they talk to me about planning their fics and i enjoy it a lot! i also really enjoy deep worldbuilding, like all the clothing and food and cultural stuff as well as the geography and political relations. all of it is really fun to me as a geography/language nerd.

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

i am veeery critical of myself and way too much of a perfectionist (it’s the personality disorder) which affects my ability to write much harder than drawing. 

historically i’ve always had trouble planning out the plot of long-form works and it’s all because of the way i make art - i’m a very one-and-done type of artist. i have an idea, i write it down/draw it out as fast as i possibly can, usually spending a long time doing so, and then never touch it again. art school forced me to take my time with art so i’ve definitely gotten better about this, especially with more detailed or intricate pieces. i've gotten so much better at comics, but they take me forever to do because of all the planning i feel like i have to do.

i still feel kind of stuck in my old habits when it comes to writing; i want to have a perfect finished draft the first time around and never have to rework anything. it’s kind oooof not how writing works? you need toooo plan ahead and stuff? haven’t got that drilled into my monkey brain yet

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

i’ve done it before and will likely do it again! however i’d only like to do so for languages i actually understand, like german and russian for example. i’ve written characters speaking in french and chinese before, i think, but it was obviously terrible and i should never attempt that again. LOL

19) First fandom you wrote for?

warrior cat ocs first. then five nights at freddy’s, some ocs some canon. then TMNT oc x canon stuff. those all happened within the same year (2014 was the golden age for me)

20) Favorite fic you've ever written?

i don’t like any of the wattpad fanfics i wrote when i was a kid because they all suck LMAOOO but i will say i have the fondest memories of the FNAF one. i wrote a several book series and drew all the covers myself, as well as all of the characters and ocs. i had over a thousand followers on wattpad because of it, i made my first online friends due to it, i had so much fun with my school friends discussing it, just lots of really positive things. it ended kind of badly because readers kept pressuring me to write more even when i had reached a nice conclusion though, and i’ve always been a people pleaser, so i didn’t enjoy it by the end. but it had a positive effect on my life overall i guess?? yay for shitty FNAF fanfiction??
