I'm going feral. The stuff revealed in the new eps is so in line with Betty and Simon's characters, but god. I wish Simon's had picked up on it earlier. I wish he'd gotten on that bus with her. goddd i know. they strike me as the type of couple that will talk about anything and everything except their own relationship, in part because they think they've got it all figured out (they love each other so what else do they need?), and in part because they're afraid to pry too much and end up messing things up.

i think episode 8 made it very clear that simon was always passive on their relationship, and that passiveness spurred betty to keep things moving between them at every turn, escalating it as time went on. she always chose to do what would make simon happy, because that did make her happy as well, but it also meant putting herself in second on her list of priorities. but, to her, that's a small price to pay if it means keeping simon's attention.

simon, on the other hand, never realized that this was how betty handled their relationship and mainly kept following her lead precisely because it's what he thought she wanted him to do - after all, betty always appeared to be so bold, smart and strong. she certainly wouldn't stop herself from doing anything she wanted to do, and especially not for him. he was lucky enough to get her attention at all in the first place.

that's why getting in that bus with betty was something he never even considered doing, even after all this time, because surely, if betty wanted to go with him, she would have just told him... right?

god. every time i watch tss/tps i forget they use the valiant to filter the air at one point. like 10 and martha look excited about it (probably masking INCREDIBLY hard holyshit. martha having to deal with unit using it as a weapon in the sky to fight back after she had to deal with a YEAR (that no one else at unit remembers!!!) of seeing it in the sky while it was being used to destroy everything and everyone around her.) and like. 10's made immediately aware that unit repurposed it for good so he understands what's happening but like. jack harkness. who is not usually working directly with unit. who is probably trying to figure out what the hell is going on while trying to keep his team safe bc he can come back from the poison so he's the only one out there. looking up. seeing the fucking valiant with NO OTHER EXPLANATION as to why the hell it's there. like. one of the (many) times you kinda wish dw was more than pg bc i would've killed to just have like. a reference to him or his reaction. martha getting a text from him that's just "WHAT THE FUCK"

2. ijin from teenage mercenary/mercenary enrollment !!!! this one is my fav webtoon of all time 💓💓 i adore ijin because like...even after all he's been through and how grim and immovable his life has made him, he's still so so gentle with his grandfather and little sister. he loves his family so so much and it makes me ILL. speaking of his family i adore just how many families he HAS like he has the numbers, major kang and all them (his relationship w them has me absolutely dead on the floor the amount of rants ive gone on abt them is frankly worrying), dusik cha n his right hand man, and ofc his grandpa and dayeon!! he's so caring that he creates such strong bonds with so many people and they become irreplaceable in his heart and he would do absolutely anything to protect them. he puts the people he sees as family over EVERYTHING in his life and once a person has become part of his fam he becomes super protective of them <3 an example of that is once he knew that jiyeh was engaged to major kang, who was the first person to really help him understand what family means, he immediately added her to the ppl to be protected and went super far to protect her when she got kidnapped because he knows she's special to major kang!! someone in the comments said "his in-law!!" and that had me sobbing on the floor bc he got so excited and felt like he had to be cool in front of her AUGHH. he's such a sweetheart while also being an incredible and badass fighter and that combo is my fav kind of character 🫶🫶

favorite thing about them: He's one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen!! I Literally cannot figure him out. On top of being a evil little bastard, he's also extremely fun and silly. He made me laugh just as much as he made me want to scream. He's one of the highlights of the game and V3 would not be the same without him! least favorite thing about them: Not being able to figure him out is a highlight for me, but also I wish there was SOMETHING I had solid ground on with the guy. I lack almost any ability to tell when he's genuinely telling the truth, which can make for some frustrating thought spirals. favorite line: Kokichi has a lot of really fun lines, but most of the ones that stick out to me are only stuck in my brain cause they inflict psychic damage onto me gdshjfkds so here's a funny one I like from the wiki: "Kaito, it's good to be confident, but not when you're wrong about everything all the time." (Anything with Kokichi teasing Kaito is hysterical to me)

brOTP: Miu and Kokichi worsties of all time <3

OTP: OUMOTA <3333 THEIR DYNAMIC IS SO SILLY. Kokichi knowing all of the right buttons to push to piss Kaito off is hilarious. But Also. The inherent bond of what they went through together in the exisal hanger. enemies to experiencing something together that you can't really define by words. Oh my goddd

nOTP: I really don't like Kokichi and Gonta together personally :[

random headcanon: I like the idea that Kokichi is in the middle-to-older range of the age range of the v3 students, and that his immaturity and childishness really is part of his personality rather than him being all that much younger than the rest of the v3 cast

unpopular opinion: This is probably the spiciest I'm gonna get with these, so please bear with me,, I wish there was more fan content regarding the aftermath of trial 4 with a Gonta or even Shuichi or Kaito focus rather than Kokichi. I understand why there is so much, considering that Kokichi is very popular and Gonta, yknow, died, but I have a hard time connecting with hurt/comfort starring kokichi taking place post-trial 4. Kokichi is a complex guy who's very fun to explore and very well liked so I understand, but it can still be a bit gutwrenching to not really see any stuff about Kaito, Shuichi, and especially Gonta regarding the aftermath of that trial. (Especially no Gonta. But the lack of serious/angsty Gonta fan content is a whole other can of worms) It's why I want to make more of it! But I dont have time currently gdhsjfkds

Each day that goes by I become more certain that the only thing separating John Grey from Joey Potter from Dawson’s Creek is 200 years and the fact that at least in Joey’s case her thing with Dawson wasn’t one sided (which makes things harder for her imo).

And that Joey actually had the self-awareness to pull back from that emotional dependency when she realized she was losing herself when she started dating Dawson (though the emotional dependency/unhealthy dynamic is very much present throughout the whole show, it doesn’t just go away after she breaks up with him).

I mean, I was rewatching some DC scenes and oh my goddd I wish John had this level of self-awareness:

Dawson, you’ve been everything to me. I have been your sidekick, your confidant, your other half for so long, and that’s how our relationship works. And it’s a nice place for you, but for me, it’s scary. Because I realized that, aside from you, I don’t have anything. My entire life is attached to you, Dawson. I was working on these sketches, and somebody told me to draw what’s important to me, what inspires me, what I love. And this is the only thing I could think of. And that’s not ok with me, Dawson. I care about you so much, but if I ever lost you, I would be standing here totally void of anything else in my life. I mean, I live in total fear of doing nothing, of going nowhere, and that’s why I shut you out. Because if I can’t have something to hold on to, independently from you, then I don’t have anything at all.

And then, when she breaks up with him:

J: For so long, all I’ve thought about was you. I mean, all I dreamed about was you.

D: What happened?

J: I got my dream. And now I feel like I don’t have anything else. I mean, you have your future so perfectly planned, Dawson. You know exactly what you wanna do, what you wanna accomplish. And me… I don’t even know who I am, let alone what I want to be and accomplish. I guess I need to figure that out and I need to find my something.

D: So we’ll find it.

J: It can’t include you, Dawson. It has to be my doing and mine alone. You make me so happy, you know? But I have to make myself happy first.

Joey had the kind of character development I hoped for John. Granted, it was far from perfect because DC writing was a mess too, but still, she had some development.

The funny thing is that Joey Potter is a teenager and her character arc consists in the typical coming of age story with her finding out who she is, what she wants and what’s her place in the world as she grows into womanhood.

And John is a 50yo grown ass man that has been emotionally stagnated for the last 25 years of his life.

Seeing how positive Joey’s determination to not lose herself is just makes John’s situation — you know, calling Jamie his “true North”, thinking about how Jamie’s mere existence defines his own, thinking about how Jamie is at the center of his universe and how “he lost himself” after believing Jamie to be dead in Echo — a lot more indigestive.

It just puts into perspective how absolutely not normal his attachment to Jamie is. And believe me, Joey’s attachment to Dawson is pretty unhealthy too — but at least she has the courage of her convictions to know that she has to find her own north.

genuinely so good. i am sick. i am wailing. i am going to throw up.

ok i lied it wasnt like, groundbreaking, but i did enjoy it! and it did give me new kinds of mental illness. im not typically into the "overpowered protagonist" trope at all but i feel like in this case it was more of a vehicle for the philosophy of the novel than the actual. point? im not a literature analysis person haha

i doubt i would have read this novel if it weren't by singshong. it is just generally not my thing. but im glad i did! i liked the character and i thought it was quite clever and funny, the world building was interesting (despite how overly complicated it is) and some parts made me so. oughhhbg. tearing my hair out

i also really enjoyed looking at this from a "how it compares to orv" standpoint (that's also the main reason i decided to read it). i liked seeing the "prototype" ideas in here that resemble parts of orv that were more developed/refined. and i liked the most specific messages that resembled orv's! there were a few bits regarding walls and connection that made me want to erm shrivel up and die

i guess i didn't really understand the ending but i don't think it was awful. those last 3 chapters are honestly what was worst to me, if i had stopped reading on chapter 244 i might have been happier with the openness of it. seeing all of jaehwan's friends dying and sirwen being left alone in the world was depressing as hell and didn't really feel necessary

orv is known for having everything in it and managing to pull off the most unhinged plots and details so i enjoyed seeing that same principle in twatf dsdjskks it threw a lot of things that i didnt expect at all and a lot of them were absurd but all together i think it made it work

goddd some parts just hit very close. maybe not the overall themes but some specific sections made me put my phone down and stare into space... the fall of time arc... the conversation jaehwan has with the long lived race after he's figured out the unclothing... what andersen tells him before she chooses to fight myad... many such cases

some of the criticisms for it that ive seen online are about the bad translation which is fair but i dont think that necessarily reflects the quality of the actual novel? idk the crappy translation and many typos did make it harder to read but i was still able to mostly understand what was happening and i got used to it pretty quickly. i do wish that the side characters were more developed, i was really interested in them and it felt like a lot of their development was dropped or forgotten, but i did love what growth was shown

i liked jaehwan!!! he is such a sopping wet silly guy. guy who is in the horrors forever. guy who is a billion years old but not actually but yes he is. guy who is so autism eyes incarnate. i liked him as a character and i liked following his journey even with his at times repetitive ideas and simple op solutions to everything. it was fun!

i enjoyed the characters in general, karlton grew on me for some reason lol... i liked anderson and runald a lot also... i liked how despite his identity as a lonely existence that works alone, jaehwan did actually forge so many bonds with people he met and did reciprocate them! him and yoonhwan, him hiring claire and meikal for govt positions when he became master of gorgon, him training with chunghuh, his care for runald and anderson, him verbally calling the fallbringers his friends when they reunite, even eventually his friendship with beastlain! i wasn't expecting him to make so many connections because of how set he is on doing everything alone, so i was really happy to see that he does consider them friends and isnt just coldly moving through the world alone, despite what his actions say

really liked the whole lore about [clothes]. i thought that was really cool. did not like the repeated instances of sexual harassment and pervy lines throughout the book

ive been telling people to read orv left and right, but in contrast twatf is a kind of novel that i dont think i would necessarily recommend to anyone (especially not to anyone who wasn't already an enjoyer of this genre and/or more "out there" plots in general) but i did enjoy reading it myself. however i would say that it provided some cool/valuable/fun insight into orv and singshong's writing in general so maybe i would recommend it to someone who has already read orv and wanted to expand on that

overall i did like it!!! i dont think ill be rereading it any time soon but i had fun reading and stewing over it :)

HELLO yes I have finally watched it. After many years and watching half of the first movie like three times. I watched the pirate movies.

Here are some extensive thoughts for you while I avoid my current anxiety and responsibilities:

Overall?? They’re just. Okay. Like idk they’re alright. I liked them, like they weren’t bad, I just didn’t feel any strong emotions for most of it?? They were solidly okay. Sorry to the potc mega enjoyers rip

but since I’m bored and I love rambling here are some thoughts on the characters:

will - constantly serving looks but maintains the personality of a piece of white bread. sorry will like I’m sure there’s just some real depth there that I just didn’t care to search for but idc. he’s not rlly my type of guy and I knew that going into it, whatever. shout out to Orlando Bloom for being very pretty tho.

elizabeth - ohhhhh my goddd ohhh my god keira knightley is so pretty jesus fuck lord in heaven. I was literally just staring at her in every scene. god. no but seriously I liked her character a lot more than I thought I would!! Not that I thought I wouldn’t like her but I just figured I’d focus a lot more on Jack instead, but I was actually super into her she is thee only valid bitch in this whole movie series. I’m so mad that she just became king of pirates and then?? went home or something?? unrealistic. she should be the captain of the black pearl and rule all pirates, duh. no men are worthy of her actually.

jack - ohhh boy. let me tell you despite never watching these movies I STILL had such a massive crush on this guy when I was younger. he was like, the pinnacle of attractiveness in my mind. honestly my feelings haven’t changed much, I remain weak for smudgy black eyeliner. however?? actually liked him slightly less than I thought I would??? Idk I figured I would be super obsessed with him and nobody else but, eh. the thing about him is that like, I know that being unpredictable and morally grey is literally his whole thing, but it just kind of got boring after a while?? don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with characters who are backstabbing selfish little shits, I have a lot of experience with them, but in this case it just felt rlly tiring. I knowwwww we’re not really supposed to know what’s up with him but I think he could have used just a little bit more grounding as far as letting us into his head for like, five seconds. it just kind of felt like the writers were rolling dice as far as when he betrays people and when he decides to be a good guy out of the blue?? I never felt like I knew where he stood or what his motivations were. Again, I know that’s kind of the point, but, idk, the balance felt off to me. That’s just my opinion tho.

related point to another thing that didn’t really bug me per se but just felt funny - everyone’s undying loyalty to Jack that seems to just come out of nowhere??? I just felt like every single movie had the same thing where like, Jack is a selfish little shit who goes behind everyone’s back for 85% of the movie - maybe he does maybe one (1) good thing at some point - but then at the end of the movie everyone’s like ‘I would literally go to the ends of the earth to save this man’ and I’m just like??? Why????? What did he do for you besides like one good thing among many many annoying things? Don’t get me wrong, I do like Jack a lot, but as far as the actual characters in the movies, their motivation to follow this man into death felt kind of random. I felt like all of these movies were trying to sell Jack Sparrow to me as the Specialist Most Smart Amazing Man Ever but in truth he was just kind of some guy. idk. that was just amusing to me.

other miscellaneous thoughts:

Davy Jones is cool I was rooting for him a lot in the end :) honestly the entirety of the third movie I was just like CAN WE PLS GIVE HIM HIS HEART BACK ALREADY GIVE THE MAN A BREAK lmao. kind of wish he had a nicer ending tho :(((

Norrington was… there. Idk, I don’t have any really strong feelings about him, but I did like him in his final scenes. I can definitely see how he would be someone you could grow to appreciate a lot more after a few viewings.

I know Disney made them but I swear these movies could not pick a genre. One second it’s Scary Serious Pirate movie and the next it’s all kid humor, idk, I feel like they should have just gone with one or the other. I know that’s kind of their whole thing but it didn’t work for me personally.

That one fucking music bit. Not like the pirate music everyone always puts in memes but another bit. I can’t name a specific scene but god it slaps so hard. Every time it came on I ascended to another plane of existence.

Also fun fact about me - part of the reason I did not watch these movies for a while was bc I was rlly scared to watch them when I was younger, bc when I was a wee kid I accidentally walked in on a rlly creepy disturbing bit with Davy Jones while someone else was watching it and it rlly freaked me out. Honestly valid of little Sunny tho having watched that scene now again - shit really was gross. Especially for baby me :( that’s ok tho bc now I am strong 💪 and actually rlly enjoyed Davy Jones

goodbye, lucifer (but not really!)

I cannot BELIEVE that I just watched the last episode of my favourite show.

I usually cram everything I have to in tags under gifsets I reblog, but for this final season I'll go through the pain of actually writing shit down. I'll try to keep it short, and I'll try not to ramble. (Edit: Did not accomplish that.)

God, soooooooo much!!

Deckerstar baby

Okay, so when Rory showed up in the trailer I was like "Ugh, another annoying angel? Meh." FORGIVE ME, my sweet murder child! Of all the things I thought they might do, a Deckerstar baby was DEAD LAST on my list. And a daughter no less, I just... When she says she's Lucifer's daughter, I was like *SCREAMS*, but when we learn she's Lucifer AND Chloe's daughter, I completely lost it. My boyfriend's on a trip with his friends this week and I'm sooo grateful for that, I made the weirdest, loudest, ugliest noises while watching this season, I ran around our apartment like a maniac, I squealed and laughed and cried and just generally lost my mind. But when she says that?? Oh my God. Also the way Lucifer reacted when Chloe shows him the pregnancy test? Straight outta fanfic.

Lucifer being a father

Oh my God?? I've always said he'd be the BEST father, and actually seeing it on screen... I love the parallel of him being ridiculously over the top with Rory at first, just like God and Lucifer in S5. The way he looks at her when he sees her playing the guitar? Their duet?? Instantly one of my favourite scenes. Them driving in the Corvette, their last day together, how he keeps her from killing Le Mec? Just murder me.

Established Deckerstar

All the hugs and kisses?? The declarations of love, the besotted looks, the absolute power couple we got? Their look from Maze and Eve's wedding, OH MY GOD???? Just, these two are so pretty and we got SO MUCH. Also, their scenes with Rory?? I just love them so much...

Ella's storyline

I wanted a reveal for her so badly, and the way it turned out was brilliant! I loved her figuring it out for herself and calling everyone out lmao. I especially loved poor Carol returning to that room full of shocked people. They had some GREAT punchlines and gags this season, absolutely hilarious! I also love Lucifer's parting gift for her and that she finally found a good one with Carol.

The Police storyline

As a white person who has literally never once had a problem with the police, I know this is not my place to say, but I think they did a good job? Not giving into the "a few bad apples" excuse but acknowledging that the whole system needs to change? I also really enjoyed the scenes with Amenadiel and Officer Harris, showing what policework could and should look like.

Maze and Eve's happily ever after

I'm so glad auntie Maze and auntie Eve got their happy ending! And that wedding was a bomb. Also, "You're my hell!", lmao.

Dan's ascend to heaven

First of, great to know his only torture was Belios' lack of table tennis skills. Secondly, how very fitting for the show that they didn't hand Dan his happy ending easily, that he fought and won it for himself. Him as a ghost and him as Le Mec was equally funny, and his talk with Trixie was just perfect, literally tears you guys.

Amenadiel becoming God

I mean, dude's perfect for the job! From the loyal, distant, obeying servant to a God who wants to work as a team with his siblings, who wants the Celestials to experience the human world, who hates injustice and loves fiercely? In this universe, I couldn't imagine anyone better suited to be God.

Nobody misses the case of the week

At least I don't! God, I wish they'd tried this out sooner.

The bittersweet ending

Let's preface this by saying I HATE bittersweet endings. Give me a happily ever after or else. And yet, and yet!! I think the ending they settled on is perfect. Would I have loved it if Lucifer had a life on earth with Chloe, Trixie and Rory? God, yes. Do I get emotional over him being alone in hell, again? Goddd, yes. But still. I so love that he found his calling in the end, that they reunited, and that he actually makes good on his promise from S5 to change the system. Also, I don't care if this is canon or fanon for now, but they totally spend time in heaven with Rory and visit earth whenever they like. And this would have been my ideal ending - them being free to go where they like, and I don't see why they shoudn't. It's definitely more satisfying than just traipsing off to heaven indefinitely, so I really, really loved that.

what i didn't (do feel free to skip this!)

Lucifer missing out on Chloe's life on earth and being alone in hell again. Chloe being left again.

Time travel shenanigans. I just finished Dark and that was enough of a mindfuck. Do not want to think about loops for this show, thank you very much.

Chloe felt a little too housewifey in the first episodes, but it thankfully didn't stay that way for long.

Lucifer and Chloe talking about keeping secrets for a whole episode, and then NOBODY TALKING ABOUT URIEL AND CANDY. I mean, ahhhhhhh! If you don't want to talk about it, then don't, but don't remind people of it constantly and then NOT discuss it. It drives me mad, honestly, how many times they referenced these storylines only to completely ignore them when there were opportunities to resolve them. Ahhh. That's what fic is for, I guess.

Adam. Like, why? Bye, dude.

what i'll keep with me

When someone I'd just met at my boyfriend's cousin's wedding in 2019 recommended this "funny, little show" to me that intrigued them because they were interested in finding their faith, I really didn't think I'd write all this three years later.

Lucifer is my third fandom, and it won't be my last, but it sure as hell - ha - will stay with me. I resonate so deeply with Lucifer as a character because he fights with the idea of God, fights with this concept of a benevolent father that everyone seems to believe in but never fit his experience. I come from a Christian family and studied theology, but somewhere along the lines I had to come to terms with the fact that the faith I had as a child and teenager didn't fit me anymore. I want to believe again, and maybe someday I will, but right now I don't know that. So Lucifer's journey with that meant a lot to me. I'd like to find what Ella did, I guess.

Although I never really thought Lucifer needed redemption, I loved the whole "anybody can be redeemed" message as well. And hell reform! Hell is such a weird, awful construct - speaking as the theology expert - bringing a bit of purgatory in in this universe is really fucking cool.

Also, I binged Lucifer when I was alone in hospital late at night. That experience alone I'll never forget.

So, I guess - thank you!! Thank you to the cast and crew, to the fans who campaigned for season four, to Ildy and Joe, to the writers and the directors and the people who brought lunch: Thank you so much for this incredible show. I'm not ready to say goodbye, not by a long shot, and I hope this fandom feels the same.

Anon, I get you. Sometimes I think I'm solely into a specific sort of men, and then someone like Sibylla comes along and I'm like, yeah ... good-bye, straightness. 😂😂

Honestly, I'm a little sad that there are no F/F Sibylla fics. Baldwin is a dear boy and all, but I often lament that the fandom is practically solely focused on him. There are so many interesting characters / historical figures you could write about ... and yet the only sort of fic that seems to do reasonably well at all are those Baldwin x female OC time travel stories. I mean, no shade on them whatsoever - to each their own, and I'm absolutely happy for the authors whose fics are doing well; I'm not a jealous bitch. I just wish we had a little more variety. But since there is little demand for that, I suppose that's mostly a me-problem.

A little sapphic Sibylla one-shot is noted gladly, then. It will take me a while to get to it as I'm still hopelessly busy with uni stuff at the moment, but I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy that one quite a lot ... 😁

Please note, though, that I don't write Canon Character x Reader fics and nothing that ventures beyond an M rating. But I think we can manage some teasing and sexual tension (resolved? unresolved? who's to say? 😏) with Sibylla and a red-headed OC that doesn't get too much in the way.

Jin: so, Namjoon for him is the greatest symbol of a good foundation within the group, Seokjin has very present the hard times that BTS went through and it comes to mind when he thinks about Namjoon in his life, he kinda griefs the fact that he is the oldest and he wishes he had helped Namjoon bear all of it, ultimately, he doesn’t feel pity for him, and Joon is just this immense source of wisdom and strength that he looks up to. This is also confirmed by astrodice, which shows north node libra fifth house, he deeply believes that it was destiny, him crossing paths with Namjoon, to make him a better person and learn from him.

Jungkook: Listen, we been knew, Namjoon was and will forever be JK’s crush, this dude exploded my deck once again, he goes all over the place with excitement at remembering that Joon is part of his life. Namjoon is this eternal feeling of comfort and feeling his heart swell at knowing that there’s someone in his life taking care of him but also one that he can return the favour; evidently, he has been there for him growing up, and he very much perceives him as this person that he can rely on for everything and anything. Venus Capricorn 6th house confirms that even though he is this authority figure while at work, he is this big softie that he adores.

Himself: So I have no doubt that he is on a process of loving himself, but he constantly feels like he is in a battle with himself, up to this day, he still can’t believe the life he is living, he feels trapped in an illusion, he doesn’t hurt himself over those thoughts, just tends to dwell on them for a bit. Venus Pisces 2nd house, confirms that he is in his way to realise his self worth, to finally see himself like everyone else does.

My Thoughts: this is part of a series but might be okay to read on it’s own? tho really I suggest the entire series, it’s amazing. but this fic specifically has great kid Jason characterization (and also made me cry, I think!)
