I saw some people putting the dunmeshi gang in their own country/region and thought it was a fun idea! So here's some art and thoughts on a mexican setting:]
We have Marcille enjoying a cup of arroz con leche (rice and milk dessert), divorced dad Chilchuck eating chapulines (fried/cooked crickets) and the Touden siblings representing me and my sister when we get esquimos (icy milkshake)

I'm from the mainly urban part of México (basically next to the capital, if you know you know) so I didn't have a lot to draw from when it comes to traditional or regional clothing in my area, so I avoided it. But I put them in outfits I see around me commonly so I think it counts.
Chilchuck says early on that he actually enjoys eating coin bugs, so I think he'd like chapulines and other bug snacks too! He's also wearing a paliacate that he sometimes lifts up to his head when it's too hot.
All of them probably get sunburnt a lot from the climate, but I think Laios suffers the most from it since he doesn't like to put on sunscreen.
Senshi (not pictured here) has a very shady looking but delicious street food stall near Marcille and Falin's school, they met when Laios forced convinced them to try it's menudo (a soupy dish made with animal innards). He changes locations regularly but prefers to sell near universities and other schools.
Falin has hiked up the Popocatepetl at least 3 times and everytime she brings home some sort of bug for Laios to stare at.

It's safe to say both of them were screwed over by the two people who were now rumored to be dating.
Y/N L/N became a prominent figure in the sports industry even before she started dating the McLaren driver. She gained recognition in the Formula One community as Lando Norris's girlfriend. However, after their breakup, she became known as the one who was dumped by Lando Norris—in a good way, though.
She used the publicity of being dumped to her advantage. Instead of sobbing over the breakup initiated by Lando, she became the best version of herself.
João Félix, on the other hand, took his "breakup" as a challenge. A challenge to see how many times he could get fucked over by the same girl. The Portuguese actress and model, Magui Corceiro, was like meth to him. He couldn't stop going back to her; he didn't even try to stop himself. People say that "third time's the charm." Well, for João, it was the fourth. After she fucked him over for the fourth time, he decided he was going to start his villain arc (breaking up with her).
João's transfer to Barcelona came with much more than just a new club and a new country to discover; it also brought a new relationship.
The two had bonded over their recent relationship endings and on a personal level, they were a match. As months went by, their bond grew until it turned into an actual relationship. As of June 2024, they had been together for about five months, agreeing to keep it low-key. However, the moment they saw their exes link up they decided to reveal it piece by piece.

Hello, I came across your post for Damian Priest requests, and thought I'd drop by and make one.
If it isn't too much trouble, can you do Damian Priest being protective of the reader after they were injured? The reader nicknames him Harbinger of Doom in response to a nickname he calls the reader. Angst/Fluff. (I'm a sucker for a fluffy ending). It doesn't matter which version of Priesty it is. He's awesome through it all lol.

being the youngest and the last member of the judgment day had its pros a cons. you loved how everyone cared about you, especially a cute guy named damian. you and him bonded immediately and even if it started as a simple and cute friendship, everyone knew that you were in love with him.
and everyone knew that he was in love with you.
you were the official couple in the squad, making the fans going crazy everytime you teased each other on live television.
the constant flirting and stolen kisses were enough for the fans to start calling you “mom and dad” and even if it seemed a little weird at first you ended up loving it.
but despite everyone loving you, you started to hate how they all became protective of you. you didn’t matter damian or rhea - mostly damian - throwing a tantrum everytime you got slightly injured, it was cute how he was protecting you but overtime you got bored and even if you told him that, he never stopped doing so.
one special night turned to be a living nightmare.
you were so happy to have your own match against zoey stark. you two were friends but you knew how she could get everytime she was wrestling. she would be brutal and she wouldn’t care if she played dirty, as long as she gets the win, everything is fine to her.
and that’s what she did.
it wasn’t supposed to go like that, you were supposed to win, it was an easy match but of course she played dirty and she slightly injured your back. but the constant hits on your shoulders and back made it hurt more that you could barely stand. you just wanted the match to end so you rapidly tap out, just to end everything.
you were in too much pain that you didn’t even hear rhea attacking zoey and damian kneeling in front of inside the ring.
“you’re crazy!” you slightly heard rhea yelling “i’m gonna make you pay for this” and you knew she wasn’t kidding. she was your best friend and even if that was all a play, you were injured for rhea and that was something she couldn’t forgive.
“mi amor are you okay? estas bien?” damian asked in a whisper.
your back was killing you and your head was spinning. even the fans realised something was wrong when they saw how you couldn’t even move nor stand.
you only felt damian scooping you up in his arms and taking you to get checked. your head was hurting and when damian laid you on the bed you drifted off. tired and in pain.
when you regain consciousness you watched in the small tv inside the locker room how rhea was attacking zoey and how damian was doing nothing to stop her.
referees were trying to stop her but they couldn’t get her away from zoey. damian was laughing and teasing her in spanish.
you didn’t want that to happen. you knew zoey overstepped but that was your business, not theirs. damian was only protecting you but he was acting crazy and you couldn’t handle it anymore so you violently turned off the tv and threw the remote somewhere in the room.
you waited patiently for their feud to be over so you could talk to damian - no, so you could scream at damian for his childish behaviour.
he definitely didn’t expect to see you awake but what he also didn’t expect was to see your pissed look.
“are you okay hermosa?” he slowly started walking towards the couch you decided to sit on.
“don’t come closer damian…”
“what? are you okay?” he asked a little worried.
“you gotta explain why you went all crazy on zoey…that was none of your business” you said. you were clearly still in pain and having a fight right now wasn’t the greatest idea you ever had but you needed to speak with him.
“why? the way your face looks in pain is the reason i went all crazy on her…” he tried to keep his tone low, as he hated fighting with you.
“i know but that wasn’t your business…i could have handled her”
“oh, could you ?” he said back probably too fast.
that was low, even for him.
“i didn’t mean it like that…” he immediately apologised but if you were pissed before, now you were completely mad.
“you know what? i can handle her and i can handle myself, i have nothing to prove, especially not to you damian so if you think i’m not good enough, you can leave…” you knew you were hurting him but his words already hurt you.
“i get it, you’re mad…you’re mad because i overstepped and i shouldn’t have…but i was here backstage watching you crying in pain and knowing that i couldn’t do anything for you was killing me. it took everything in rhea’s power to hold me back from running to you when she first hit your back, knowing that she shouldn’t have…” he started explaining himself and truth be told, you couldn’t stay mad at him for longer than 10 minutes “…i was scared when i saw you almost paralyzed inside the ring…and everything i told her was because she deserved it, i don’t care if she’s your friend, she shouldn’t have done that, so yeah maybe i’m too protective of you but it’s because i love you and i can’t fucking stand seeing you hurt and in pain” he slowly knelt in front of you, taking your hands into his bigger ones “i know you can handle yourself and you proved it so many times now, but if there’s a way i can protect you from getting hurt, i might get hurt from trying princess…” he whispered, bringing your hands to his lips.
you even forgot why you were mad in the first place “you would really get hurt for me?”
“i would take a hundred of bullets for you, i gotta protect what’s mine…” he slowly teased you.
“so i’m yours…”
“from the moment i saw you in the gym training with rhea” he helped you standing up “now…we’re gonna get you checked one more time and when you’re all clear to go, i’m gonna take you back to the hotel and we’re gonna have a very nice and cozy night in…just me and you” he proposed and you nodded.
happy that someone was there to take care of you, and that the person was damian himself.

Hello everyone, today is my 29th birthday.
With that in mind, I figured it would be the best time to talk about this, so I'm proud to present to all of you 東方雷秘儀 ～ Strike in the Holy Apex, my very first Touhou Project fangame!
The game's story will be centered around a mysterious thunderstorm that's raiding the entirety of Gensokyo, so it's up to a group of heroines to investigate the situation and save the day.
As some of you may know, around November of last year, GameMaker has become free to use for everyone, which prompted me to take the opportunity to create an engine that looks roughly similar to ZUN's original Touhou Project games. I showcased it in greater detail on YouTube sometime around late February and I was very pleased by the generally positive feedback it got.
Taking that into account, I continued to expand the work I've done and it has grown a lot during the past four months; menus function properly, game settings can be modified, controller support has been added, several gameplay tweaks have been implemented, and so on. There's still a number of things that need to be ironed out by the time I'm writing this post, but considering the progress I have done on it so far, I have faith that a trial version for the game will be ready for release soon. This has to be the biggest project I've worked on... by a country mile. Speaking of the trial version's release date, that will be disclosed at the very end of this post.
GameMaker being free to use has given me a joy I genuinely can't describe, and I bet my inner child would’ve been happy too by hearing those news. After all, I've had experiences with GameMaker for well over 15 years, basically almost half of my entire life!
So, what should you expect by the time the trial version is released? First things first, it'll obviously consist of only three stages.
Secondly, you'll be able to play this adventure as the usual duo; Reimu and Marisa. More playable characters will be available in the full version.
Thirdly, the game's main mechanic. It's called the Brave Gauge, and it has functionality almost similar to the Season Gauge found in Touhou 16: Hidden Star in Four Seasons. It's not the most original idea I've had, but for the record, and coming back to my familiarity with GameMaker ever since my teenage years, this system was taken from a very old draft which dates all the way back to 2014, while making some adjustments to it. Here's a little bit of proof:
I'm going a bit off tangent here, but seeing these filenames kinda makes me feel embarrassed. The game has "Ascii" on the name because all of the graphics in there were made using ASCII characters, which was done during a time when my artistic talents were non-existent, so they looked quite messy and overall made the game have a goofy aura to it, haha.
And lastly, considering that I'd like this game to be played by a wider demographic, it's gonna be available in three different languages: English, Spanish (my native language, hooray!) and Japanese. These can be selected anytime via the options menu.
I don't know any people who are fluent in Japanese, and the few friends that I have don't seem to know much about the language either, so that translation is gonna be handled 100% by myself using tools like DeepL. I know that translating all the stuff in one go can lead to heavily mistranslated results, so I'll be making sure to convert my game's text as meticulously as I can. If there's anyone out there who understands Japanese fluently and is willing to translate the text for me, please hit me up because that'd be really appreciated. In case that happens, I won't be able to reward the translation financially, but I will be adding your name to my game's end credits.
So yeah, I don't have much else to say. The game's trial version will be available on Itch.io this August 30th.
The game has a long way ahead from being completed, so anticipating a release date for the full version is not feasible, at the moment. Regardless, I'll make sure to update on that once I have made abundant progress on it.
Both versions of the game will be released as pay-what-you-want. In simpler words, they'll be available free of charge with the optional choice of depositing a sum, in case you're feeling generous. After all, not to brag, but it goes without saying that I'm handling every detail in the game; not just the programming, but also the art, music and writing. While I have used some code libraries to facilitate the inclusion of certain aspects in my game, most of the heavy lifting is carried out by me, so it'd be really appreciated to have some compensation for the work I have been doing for almost half a year. It's not by any means mandatory, so it's fine if you can't for whatever reason, hahaha.

Alright before the Spanish GP I had posted my top ten favorite drivers now that we've got a break here's the new list
Carlos Sainz - this is never changing. I got into F1 because of him. Now if only he'd announce where he's going next
Fernando Alonso - and much like some of his famous on track overtakes this man has come outta nowhere to steal 2nd place courtesy of scratching my millennial brain in all the right places and being a meme, a legend, a chaos gremlin and a sex god
Esteban Ocon - is he still a problem child? Yes. Do I still love him and want him to have a redemption arc? Also yes. Este my brother just settle your ass down
George Russell - the man shouted a Flintstones quote upon winning Austria, he's so sweet to his gf, and in general is just very polite and caring if also a bit adorably awkward at times. Plus the Goat Simulator stream video lives in my head rent free
Daniel Ricciardo - literally the male high performance athlete version of me. Except I'm actually from Texas and I think I may act less Texan than that man does
Logan Sargent - I'm American and he's our only driver and while on the track he's been a bit of a disappointment I love that he has been nothing but class as a person. Also he legitimately looks like Captain America fucked an apple pie he's just SO American
Oscar Piastri - I just love Lando's tired parent Oscar who's just so delightfully dry. He's my fav baby on the grid. Must protect Piastri at all costs
Charles Leclerc - I got into this sport because of the C² videos so he's always gonna have to show up in these lists even if he had that "ding dong" with Carlos that made me wanna smack him in the head with a toaster because Carlos is always so supportive of his team mates and Charles was not matching the energy that week.
Lando Norris - he's so sweet with the kiddos and just such a kid himself he's a delight. Also really mate? You just yeet Oscar's shoe away? Lol
Alex Albon - I don't know if anyone on the grid could be purer. He's made of snowflakes and powdered sugar and dandelion fluffs. He is too pure for this world and unlike Oscar who absolutely can look out for himself cause he's a badass I legitimately want to bubble wrap this precious nugget
Honorable mention my trauma vehicle Max Verstappen who still inspires me when it comes to healing from a hard ass dad but I can definitely do without a Verstappen win so he didn't make the list lol

feeling a distinct craving for scully n mulder time…
‼️HATER ALERT‼️this episode pissed me off. you can read how hopeful i was below, expecting a wolfy beast. and then keep all that hope in mind as you watch it get torn to shreds. ready? go.
reading the episode description. as a kid, i thought the chupacabra sounded cool as hell. i thought he was out there, and he was gonna be some cool new wolf thingy, and as a kid who was into wolves, this was truly exciting. in recent years, i have learned that it is not as old of a legend as i had thought as a child. also that one lady says she has a taxidermied one, but i think it’s just a wolf with mange? idk.
okay, so apparently it was first sighted in 1995? that was like. yesterday when this aired. and apparently in some areas it’s more lizardy in reports, and then in the southwest US (which must be what i grew up hearing about) it is a dog
now i hope they go the dog route because i think that’s more interesting. i’m still annoyed they made the jersey devil a bigfoot instead of the goat creature we all know it TRULY IS and that scared me so horrifically as a child. this is a grudge i shall likely hold forever. so i would like to see a wolf creature, because that is what i thought they were as kids, and childhood me has been previously wronged by this show.

we begin in a migrant camp in california. this dude (eladio) is lurking behind a post, watching a woman (maria) get a smooch from a different guy (soledad). the lurker calls the lady “my love” and she says that she is NOT his love. good! tell him!
oh! the guy who did the smooching (soledad) is the guy who did the lurking’s (eladio's) brother. he’s watching this go down… kinda juicy
maria accidentally let the goats escape… girl get your head in the game.
and then a bunch of explosions are going on??? and raining. nasty yellow green rain. like nickelodeon slime.
actually it’s yellow. do not drink it!!!
the goats are back, but where is maria??
oh. she is dead and also her eyes and mouth have been eaten away by the yellow stuff.
that was a very gross shot of her conspicuously missing eyeballs
they did the full intro this time!! feel like it hasn't been the full one in a while
scully is there :D and mulder too! he is exercising very basic spanish. haha he took french and scully took german... they are going to be lost.
i am recalling in 02x01 when he knew no spanish at all…. he was putting the hours into whatever people used in the 90's instead of duolingo!!!
"can you tell me why we're standing out here in the middle of a field looking at a dead goat?" <- many are asking this
there was rain, which can come in many colors! "purple rain?" "yeah, great album. deeply flawed movie though" <- YES! A HINT AT FOX MULDER'S MUSIC TASTE HAS FINALLY BEEN REVEALED!!!!!!!
he points out that no one has investigated maria's death because of her and the entire camp's status as migrant workers, which is pretty sad. also, the big coats are big coating.
when they do that thing they are so famous for- sticking their heads into places uninvited- someone yells that the migrant poilce are here, and they all scatter. mulder is trying to say no, no, that's not it at all.
scully flashes the fbi badge hoping that this will explain things, but mulder grabs her hand and closes it.... girl now why did you think that would help!!! it felt out of character and annoyed me even if it WAS funny. she is smart and capable; she does not need mulder to teach her how to do these things.
the woman we saw before says that it was the chupacabra that killed maria, and mulder is explaining what this beast is to scully in great detail, because that is the sort of stuff he has read up on. also, apparently in this version a visitation of one is preceded by light and rain. noted. never heard that before in my life, but noted.
ooooh tea…. the brother who was leaving earlier, soledad, says that his brother, eladio buente, did the killing!!
“uh, how do you explain the yellow rain then?” LMAOOOO chemicals. obviously.
is scully quoting west side story??? 😭😭😭 now where in her navy brat childhood did musicals come into play!!! i love that for her <3
she’s insisting it was a murder, and that it should be left for local cops. but mulder says the local authorities don’t care. scully says she cares :( so they must find what killed maria
noooo they’re gonna separate… mulder's gonna try and find eladio and she is going autopsy mode. i hate when they separate!!
eladio hasn’t been seen in three days, so mulder goes to visit a guy named agent lozano at the INS. the agent says that the migrant workers make up these stories to feel alive, which seems a deeply reductionist take
(i was wondering why i had never heard the term INS before... turns out it was dissolved in 2003. here i was thinking i was a fool! but no!)
the person working in the morgue is being rude asf to scully and also to the people she is inspecting…. noted. scully, clock that nonsense!
WHAT DA HELL. why is maria covered in…. grassy fluffy stuff???? and looks mummified. a day or two in the fridge did not do that…
they find eladio, who is separated from the others at the INS because they are being mean to him…. they think he’s the chupacabra. oh, so this is like a werewolf transformation thing? see, i was under the impression that the chupacabra was just a little creature. so this is new.
(he gave his name as a famous actor, lmao, i had look that reference up when mulder smiled)
eladio is vehemently claiming that he did not kill maria, and that he held her in his arms as he died. hmm, agent lozano doesn’t believe him. but he seems rude as hell.
they put eladio on a bus, but the other people on it are screaming that he is the chupacabra. and this other guy says that he will be sent back south.
scully rolling up!!! honking at mulder :D
mulder is passionately recounting eladio’s story, and scully looks at him very weirdly for a second, as if to say, this guy is deeply strange. and then she drops the bombshell that maria seems to have died of a FUNGAL INFECTION. she was exposed to so many pesticides that hurt her immune system, she might have died from a totally normal fungus. huh. that would be very sad.
mulder points out yet again that it does not explain the light nor rain.
“mulder, i know you don’t want to hear this, but i think the aliens in this story are not the villains, they’re the victims” <- that shuts him up :(
but they come across the INS bus…. it seems to have crashed??? and that the people in the back are running away??
(at this point, i notice the flute my mutual phoebe hates so much in the soundtrack. it shall haunt us forever)
OH GOD!!! the driver is also now a desiccated corpse.
she flakes a piece of his skin off (GAG!!!!!) oh, it’s very gross. but something about scully ripping her mask off and explaining what went down in medical terms is appealing to me.
it seems to be another fungal case. but a DIFFERENT fungal case!
is this dude using the pokémon move spore? and is it very effective? only time will tell…

agent lozano comes back and says they couldn’t find eladio after the whole escape from the bus thing. well look harder idk what else to say.
she says we need to identify this fungus NOW but mulder wants to find eladio. they are splitting up AGAIN???? ugh!!! no fun!!! no fun for me!!!
eladio sneaks off to a barber shop, saying he needs to go back to mexico. apparently this barber was the one who brought him here, and now he needs to return.
OH! he called eladio a slur. and said that without money, he will not take him back. jeez. he has one day to get the money in order to get back. i am uncomfy.
it seems that people are coming to the migrant workers and picking them up for various jobs. eladio sneaks into a truck, and when the other workers refuse to accompany him due to his chupacabra allegations, he must work by himself.
fungus time!!! they’re looking at…. athlete’s foot? now how did it do all that? scully wants to know how they multiplied.
it looks the yellow rain accelerates the fungi and puts them into overdrive!!! the mycologist demonstrates how the stuff makes it expand!!! not good for ecological purposes.
mulder is gazing upon some graffiti of the chupacabra, who, to my disappointment, is more alien than dog. what do i have to do to get a dog beast?? why is it so out of reach for me…???? :(
agent lozano says that mulder ought to leave the brotherly fighting between those two, but mulder says that god will curse the man who doesn’t intervene. and he’s had a rough go of this whole being alive thing so far, so he really can’t use another curse. he’s off to find eladio.
eladio does not look well, as he is tossing some wood about. OH! his sweat is yellow???? no…
NO!! his brother is approaching him!!!! with a pipe…
AND THE SPOUT ELADIO TOUCHED IS NOW COVERED IN FUNGUS
NO! when soledad opens the door to the restroom some guy is FUNGUS’D!!!! it is very very very gross, especially the stuff in his mouth….. nasty
but to be clear: the guy who was fungus’d was NOT eladio!!! eladio is in a truck and flooring it!!
eladio runs to someone named gabrielle. and he looks even more sick than before. he is begging for help and money and for her to run away with him. well. i would advise that she does not do that.
scully’s new theory: eladio is the typhoid mary of this new fungus accelerating enzyme. and mulder BETTER NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH IT. no INHALING, no TOUCHING.
mulder is trying to say it might be aliens!!! but scully says, dude, it doesn’t matter right now where it came from, what matters is making sure less people die. he looks sad to be told this. but she was right.
the barber snitches to mulder and agent lozano where eladio is…. or is he tricking them??? no, he isn’t!! he has visuals on eladio!!! and if it’s an honest race, you know damn well who is going to win between some sick guy and mulder
eladio plays dirty though, and dives under a truck, into another truck filled with goats. all of which later have the fungus. very gross.
(they keep making a point that the migrants are invisible and no one pays attention to them or cares about their well-being. i feel like there should be a lesson here, but if there is, i’m not seeing it. it just kinda feels like “damn, look how much it sucks that these people are treated terribly” more than a purposeful statement on the inherent equality of all human beings. so it falls very flat)
all the goats have lost their eyes.
the INS go to gabrielle’s house. agent lozano immediately grabs her and it’s straight up awful. scully tells him to check the back to get him away from her.
mulder says they should wait….
and eladio is looking very very terrible now. he is covered in sores or fungus or something. NO don’t touch the bulk candy and nuts you’re gonna get everyone infected!!!!!!!!
he limps out, but the nuts he knocked over are being fungus’d in real time!!!
they stuck around gabrielle’s place and see soledad show up. we are gearing up for a major brother vs brother showdown.
but it is interrupted by our agents plus agent lozano whom i do not like!!! soledad says he must avenge maria’s death….. but scully is busy observing that a good third of the supermarkets has been fungus’d from eladio’s presence.
eladio comes to gabrielle’s door and he is very very green. she thinks he killed maria, and he really is the chupacabra.
this is an interesting concept… that the chupacabra is a guy who gradually turns green and also melts people with fungus enhancing enzymes. i will have to turn this one over and over again in my head.
so we’re going to have a brother vs brother showdown for real now? okay. sure. agent lozano is telling eladio to face his brother. and then we hear a gunshot. lozano has been fungus’d!
WHAT???? a whole bunch of aliens are sliding out of the light?????? huh.
so they took soledad??? i guess?? the bonus chupacabra?? chupacabras?? what is the plural for their species??
okay so. what the hell is going on. why is he an alien now as we see the flashback of him being confronted. eladio is now full megamind mode. blue and with a protruding skull. screaming that he is not a man and instead the chupacabra. okay.
ah, i see. everyone is telling different stories. gabrielle says soledad didn’t kill eladio. and soledad accidentally shot lozano. and soledad was turned into a chupacabra too?? and now the brothers run away to mexico together.
reporting this to skinner time. the hazmat team could contain the accelerating enzymes.
scully says to skinner that "they" have a way of being almost invisible, like we heard lozano say before, but then we cut to the brothers and their giant megamind skulls and i’m thinking hmmmmm. hmmmmmm. i am not so sure they are particularly inconspicuous.
mulder says nobody cares about them and that is the end of the episode.
well. uh. okay.
i feel like an attempt was made here to call attention to the terrible conditions in which migrant workers live and provide crucial services to the largely ignorant american public but like. i don’t think they did that in the best way. or in any good way at all.
i’m sorry i’m feeling like a hater…… the enzymes speed up the fungus that kills you and that is how the chupacabra gets ya 😭😭😭 what about the actual blood sucking….
this is why i wanted a DAMN WOLF CREATURE!!! not some FUNGUS NONSENSE!!!! who gave a damn about the whole love triangle thingy that drove the whole episode!!! fuck agent lozano!!!
and i'm really pissed off that they made chupacabras FUNGI ALIENS. is this a sick joke......... when it could have been a delightful beasty creature? you made it a guy? a guy who sweats yellow? THAT is a chupacabra? and somehow you can be turned into this kind of alien?
i am annoyed. this episode made me annoyed, and sometimes it feels good to really tear into something. fungi aliens..... do NOT piss me off. ugh. absolutely sullying the good name of this TV program. chupacabra is a fungus alien... you're sick for that. you're SICK for that, chris. who came up with this?
i think they were trying to craft a sympathetic narrative towards the migrant workers, but it just came off like a sideshow of their trauma. and as if agent lozano was justifying their dehumanization, with his whole "they need to tell stories to distract from their simple lives" thing and also how he grabbed gabrielle and mocked eladio's story. i can see there was an effort, and i can see that it failed. i'd be interested to know what people thought in that regard when this episode first aired. i feel like it could have gotten some justified backlash.
i think i typed it somewhere else at some point- and maybe it had gotten lost in the tags or drafts or something- but TXF has 3 kinds of bad episodes, imo.
category a is: this is blatantly offensive. who approved this? (gender bender, excelsis dei)
category b is: this writing is so out of character i feel disgraced (3, the parts in oubliette where scully is just mean af to mulder and tells him to stop trying cpr??? and rift-era episodes)
category c is: just kinda boring af, monster isn't even camp it's just weird, also tends to be overly dark in theme to the point where no one is having fun (calusari, the walk)
and here we got a unique combo of boring and offensive!
actually, the more i think about this, the angrier i am getting. i feel it best to try and keep my hating levels recreational, but i can tell they are getting out of hand. fungus alien........ those blue spiky heads......
but, to end on a positive note: mulder likes prince!!! this is an excellent discovery!! AND scully watches musicals <3 i choose to take these facts with me and disregard all the rest

Oh. Well, alright!
Honestly, I feel like Tubbo's itching for lore that's not too emotional in order to keep his attention on the server beyond maintaining his factories, talking to his friends and feeding Sunny, like it's either information or a new mod, something to give him stuff to do that's not the same thing he's been doing for months since he joined.
Thus, Time Travel!
I do think it will become a lore thing with him having promised Sunny to work on it, though tbh I dont think it was planned, maybe he'd thought about it a bit but it came up very naturally and I don't doubt his theories were stuff he came up with on the spot
I think he's gonna do exactly what we're all thinking and go to the past, post Fed but before the Ice Prison, and he and Sunny will figure out how and why he was there in the first place. Personally, I was never a big fan of "Tubbo was part of the Fed" theories because that kinda feels like it undermines his compassion towards the workers, but I'd love it if he did have some involvement with them, such as him getting someone to rebel, and it eventually getting him in ice.
I do also think he will only be able to travel back so far, because of the island itself. I'm still a firm believer that the Quesadilla Island all this is happening in is not a real physical place, and instead something like a computer program, and so Tubbo would only be able to travel as far as the earliest version of it.
But I also can't think it wouldn't be cool if Tubbo ended up being the one who created the Fed, or made Cucurucho/the Census Bureau, or the one who started the human testing (turning norma people into Fed Workers, Hybrid stuff, the islanders themselves being there, etc.)
Honestly it would be nice to have someone find out about Jaiden's stuff, not because of snooping around or eavesdropping but because they remember info they technically already had, from before the island, like having her as their coworker/employee. Or having someone find out about Baghera's stuff, period.

OKAY OKAY OMG okay. so first thought
How I think the time machine works is that it's stationary and is fueled by cobbled deepslate, and another block that moves them forward in time!! It also freezes the users (tubbo and sunny) age until they get back to their time period
Now lore wise? I don't think this is something Tubbo has planned beforehand, but I think it would be AWESOME if the admins actually picked it up and asked Tubbo if this is something he wants to do, and if he doesn't? hey, that's what aus are for!!!
I think they go back to a time where the island is abandoned, maybe right before the first spanish and english speakers arrived and the fed doesn't notice them because tubbo already exists in their system (ice prison) and sunny? well.. the eggs are practically confirmed to be fed experiments.
I think they would hide the machine and succeed because the area they plan on using went completely untouched before I believe? Yeah. It wasn't being used. They grab their motor boat and start their travels. They're going far, far out!! To build a shack and live there
But!! I just love the concept of time machine goes haywire and they don't have any clue at all when they are in the timeline. sooo shenanigans ensue and they start to explore the current times! maybe they have some kind of timer where the machine tells them they need to get back? idk
this is what sparked my previous post!! the one about sunny hearing or like finding out about tallulah wanting to protect their siblings but not them
i also think thats how tubbo would try and stop fitpac from happening but fail miserably, and maybe get to know some of the old islanders that aren't as active or not active at all nowdays
they would watch from afar and see how some of the eggs used to be back in the day and the islanders and just. yeah. i think they would end up leaving in the end, even if they managed to get to know the islanders and the eggs, because it always comes to that
Tubbo and Sunny leaving
and maybe their next adventure takes them to the federation's beginnings, but I do agree that they can't travel as far back as they would like due to the island's nature, but i think it would be cool if Tubbo joined the federation, or infiltrated it, and then found out about the rebellion, betrayed them both and went on the run, only to be caught in a block of ice and for Sunny to never see him again

-Watching both the brazilians and the french arrive
-Witnessing Wilbur take care of Tallulah for two weeks before leaving for tour
-Meeting the dead eggs, before they died

-Realising they can go back in time to talk to themselves
-Realising that is a terrible idea and decide against it
-Doing it anyways for the bit

hello!!! just wanted to send in a message that i have a meltdown every time I read one of your Jason pieces; so freaking good! its really special to find writers who can really get a feel for Jason without making him sound like a goofy caricature of a y/a trope or like. an incel LMAO. would love to see more of your thoughts or headcanons on Jason's opinion on college! I think he's expressed some sort of desire to attend university, but yk. the whole vigilante thing kinda screws with it. thanks again :)

i do think it’s definitely something jason’s always been interested even if his relationship with post secondary school has been fluid to say the least. sort of like: i might have a chance if i get a scholarship, to not even in school, to having a shot at going to any school, to missing out on that part of his life in favour of vigilantism and revenge
with his past briefly out of the way i definitely see jason being that person who just Attends lectures even if he isn’t enrolled. he’d go to classes with friends or someone he’s seeing if he had the time. but if anything, jason would take a course just because he finds it interesting. he’d sit in the back of the class and he 100% takes notes even if there’s no reason
if he is serious about going back to school i do stand with majority rule that he’d probably be an english/lit major.
i like to imagine jason did attempt to go to university after everything went down with bruce when he first came back though. a little scorned and confused about his place in everything. i could see him trying to play the part of someone normal and ordinary, what did people his age do again? oh yeah, go to school or leave the city.
i think he’d originally take something a bit more serious, respectable even. law, engineering, business, anything to emulate some version of himself bruce had expected jason to become. i think jason also knowing dick refused, finally agreed, then dropped out of uni would fuel him to go to spite his older brother and appease bruce even if it wasn’t conscious. like it’s an added bonus if jason really thought abt it (which he won’t ofc)
back to school: being forced to take those required liberal art courses would remind jason of what he loved in high school. he loved english class on whole and arguing with the history teacher and picked up languages surprisingly well that he did both spanish and french for a time. and while he really thought about switching majors he ultimately dropped out because he was still playing pretend and into the hands of a man his relationship was beyond complicated with.
i think jason would return when he was a few years older, a little less angry and less focused on his connection to bruce/batman. and this is when he’d major in english, im not enough of a lit baddie to pick a focus but im sure y’all can imagine <33
he’d start with night courses bc he’s already used to being awake so whats a 7-10pm lecture before patrol.
it only became an issue when courses jason’s wanted to take wouldn’t work with his nighttime plan. he started really feeling the burden of living a double life in those moments. and definitely gets antsy in class/studying when an important case is taking up his mind.
he was fortunate to take online classes that interested him greatly too but when school started becoming priority jason would have a moment with himself to decide if he wanted to spend a few years pursuing his degree with a bit more focus or go back to his life before.
and i cannot say what decision i think he’d make bc i know jason gains satisfaction from life by being red hood and cannot fully give it up but he’s also one of those people that is always dying to learn more, to know more and exercise his brain. it’s why his electives r insanely difficult mathematic courses or science labs bc everything interests him. the study of art just moves him a little more which is why he majors in it.
some other points:
- he’s not a fan of the education system and even if money is not a problem jason doesn’t rlly care abt going to elite schools and will gladly transfer around to take courses he wants or depending on where he’s currently is in the world. he’s done classes at most of gothams community colleges and at least one ivy league school
- jason’s doesn’t care how long it takes no finish school either, which works well with his vigilantism. he’s always had an unstable relationship with schooling and completing school in its expected time/format never appealed to him. jason will do it how it wants because he can :)
- he’s a handwritten notes kinda guy but understands that typing is more efficient
- will spend time at uni (and public) libraries just for funsies like he’ll b investigating new drug rings next to people studying for their midterms
- like most of us he really hates group assignments bc he’s too much of a control freak and will do all the work, hand it in and email the prof abt doing it alone without even contacting his group members bc he’s a little shit like that
- but will help in tutoring programs, be a note taker for certain courses and if jason’s fully dedicated to school he might just TA <3

⚠️Long Post Alert⚠️
Alright I've seen a lot of (negative) buzz around Disney's new show "Primos" so I'm gonna put my 2 cents in
According to the Primos wiki, the show is about "Tater, an eccentric 10-year-old girl with big dreams and, unbeknownst to her, a certain “it factor” that makes her exceptional. When her 12 cousins (“primos” in Spanish) move in for the summer, they help her discover just what it is. Tater’s aspirations and larger-than-life imagination are seen via entries in her super-secret diary, which turn her deepest thoughts into grandiose animation sequences."
FIRST, it's yet ANOTHER piece of children's media about the main character + their large Latin American family.
Upon doing some research apparently this show is about the creator's personal experiences, which okay valid. But when creating media that meant to represent a community it would be better to offer a DIFFERENT perspective rather than give us the same trope that has been done to DEATH.
And I'm gonna be real with yall, I LOVE Coco and Encanto, but both movies also fall under this trope. Not all Latin American families live with their extended family, we don't need ANOTHER piece of media perpetuating the stereotype.
Also, Disney has been putting out a few shows on Disney Channel and Disney Junior that are clear knock offs of Nickelodeon shows. Some examples:
And...hm....lemme think....a kids TV show about a Mexican girl and her quirky large Mexican family getting into some Mexican™️ shenanigans...where have I seen that before...?

Yeah the premises are slightly different, but it's essentially the same trope so already right off the bat Primos feels like a knock off version of The Casagrandes.
SECOND, there are many stereotypes already present in the series just from tbe opening theme. Many of the cousins fall into stereotypes themselves, particularly the names. Some the names of the cousins are Gordita, Big Nacho, Nachito, and Cookita. I've seen people justify the use of these names by saying many Latin Americans are given these names as nicknames, which is true. But then again, having a characters named Nacho and Gordita in a show that's supposed to be about LatAm representation is just in bad taste. It's giving "Marco Diaz from Star vs. the Forces of Evil being half Mexican and being obsessed with nachos for some reason but not representing his Latino heritage in any other way other than him wearing that Day of the Dead themed costume in The Blood Moon Ball ep." It feels lazy, and of course, stereotypical.
On TOP of this, the word "Cookita" in many LatAm countries is slang for pussy and the suffix "-ita" means small. And the character with this name is the BABY. So yeah maybe naming the B A B Y character something that to many Spanish speakers means "little pussy" in a show ABOUT Spanish speaking Latin Americans probably isn't the wisest decision.
Another detail people have been pointing out leans into negative Mexican stereotypes is the use of the "yellow filter".
Now I'm gonna be real and say I'm not 100% convinced about the yellow filter being used here. The show takes place over the summer, so the use of yellow might may be used to give the feeling of how hot it is, but I can totally see why Latin Americans would find this offensive.
Also the name "Terremoto Heights" has been heavily criticized. Terremoto means "earthquake" in Spanish and the earthquakes are common in LatAm countries. Then again, show takes place in LA, where a lot of earthquakes occur too. So Im not 100% convinced that this is flat out racist either, but it's definitely in poor taste.
THIRD, the thing that is being SLAMMED at the most, is the improper Spanish grammar and the creator's response to people pointing it out.
In the theme song, the phrase "¡Oye! Primos" is used a lot, which means "Hey cousins!" The issue with this phrase is that "Oye" means hey but in the singular tense, and "Primos" is plural. If you plug in "¡Oye! Primos" to Google translate you'll get Hey Cousins regardless, but in Spanish the phrase is not grammatically correct. In order for it to be grammatically correct the phrase would either need to be changed to "¡Oigan! Primos", "oigan" being the plural word for Hey, or "¡Oye! Primo" and make primo singular. People have been telling this to the creators of the series and well...they haven't exactly been taking it well.
Here's what the voice actress of the main character Tater, Myrna Garcia Velasco said her on social media (Instagram I think, I could be wrong) in response to the bad Spanish:
(If you can't listen to it I'll just summarize. Velasco says that Spanish is the language of the Spanish conquistadors and the only reason why Latinos are LATIN American and not indigenous is because of the Spanish, and to stay mad if you think her incorrect Spanish is an issue. She also brings up how they're "trying to make a good show" for kids who "don't have a grasp on any language" or something?? Idk that's pretty much what she's saying")
Basically this response doesn't make any fucking sense. "Spanish isn't our original language so it doesn't matter if I speak it correctly or not. I'm a NATIVE Mexican so it doesn't matter if I speak Spanish correctly or not"
???????
Girl what the fuck does this mean??? News flash, but the majority of Latin America has been speaking Spanish for CENTURIES. You go to Mexico or most other Latin American countries and you'll find them speaking SPANISH. Yes it's because of the Spanish but it's part of our culture now whether you like it or not. It's like saying "oh it doesn't matter if I speak English correctly or not cause English isn't the US' ORIGINAL language anyway" ?????
Now, the story IS about a mixed kid. Tater is half white half Mexican, so if Tater is a Latina girl who doesn't know Spanish fluently (otherwise known as a "No-Sabo" kid), then the imperfect Spanish would make sense. If the idea behind Primos is to represent the Latin American kids who don't speak Spanish, then yeah thats fine and it was a directoral choice. But judging by Velasco's response, that doesn't seem like thats the idea?? She immediately got defensive and brought up the Spanish colonizers?? Which is relevant??? HOW???
On top of that, one member of the creative team, (not 100% sure who) called someone a "Grammar N@zi" for pointing out the grammatical errors and, well...
That's def not helping their case.
How the HELL are you gonna make show about a Spanish speaking Latin American family and NOT SPEAK SPANISH PROPERLY??? How the HELL are you gonna start beef with SPANISH SPEAKERS over whether or not it's important to speak Spanish CORRECTLY when portraying SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE IN MEDIA??? Yes slang exists, yes different LatAm countries speak Spanish differently, but grammar still exists??
OVERALL: Do I think Primos is this horribly racist dumpster fire? No. Are there MANY choices in this show that are just in poor taste? Absolutely 100%. Are the responses from the creative team outta pocket? Yes of course.
If you ask me, I think the main reason why people are so outraged over Primos is because the stereotypes and tropes are tired and dated, and people KNOW what writers are capable of. The response of this teaser, sandwiched between The Owl House ending and the premier of Across the Spiderverse, which have STELLAR LatAm rep, is proof of that. Luz Noceda, Miles Morales and Miguel O'Hara are SHINING examples of good SPANISH SPEAKING LatAm representation in children's media. We CAN have good LatAm protagonists in mediation, we've SEEN IT. We don't need all the stereotypes and overused tropes, so it makes sense why so many LatAm people feel like Primos is offensive and a step backwards.
Disney is getting lazy, they need to get their shit together

With My Dear Bro Day Two & Three
Love Tractor's leads got sent to El Nido in the Philippines by the production company and recorded it for With My Dear Bro. I got nothing but time, so I'm binging it and writing it up in three posts: One, Two, Three.
This place is gorgeous! Yoon Do Jin says hi to everyone including the dogs on their walk along the beach, but Do Won is tired and focused. He gets them to where they need to go.
Yoon Do Jin pulls an Unintentional Love Story and speaks one Spanish word.
They have a tiff on the boat in front of God and the driver BECAUSE Yoon Do Jin starts with the dad jokes (baby sharks!), and, per usual, Do Won does not respond.
This is Thailand's Tay and New traveling together but the Korean version.
Yoon Do Jin is dangerous, so thank goodness his sense of humor is whack to balance out his beauty.
Because Do Won hates him. In fact, he puts on his sunglasses, so he can ignore that beautiful man properly.
Do Won was in the military, so he knows a thing or two about the water. Pretty Boy Do Jin apparently was a Marine, but he doesn't even help paddle at times because he is teasing Do Won AGAIN! They rock, paper, scissors to see who rows, and Pretty Boy Do Jin LIES his way into not rowing.
And in their normal fashion, Do Won tells Yoon Di Jin to rest (even though homeboy has been chillin' the entire time!).
This man plays too much.
They are hungry from all the playing. Yoon Do Jin wants Do Won's pasta again (ahhh!), but Do Won is too tired, so since he knows Yoon Do Jin LOVES bread, he suggests a bakery. Yoon Do Jin goes all out and gets everything. Then, they get coffee, but Yoon Do Jin, who is the extrovert and always speaks while Do Won handles the money tells Do Won he has to order instead. This is him practicing! And Yoon Do Jin pats him on the back!
Now it makes sense why the production company sent them on this trip because their banter is amazing! Yoon Do Jin compliments Do Won on his "shy glasses" (a joke from earlier when Do Won put on the sunglasses to ignore Yoon Do Jin). Do Won tells him the glasses are for counting the money Yoon Do Jin spent on bread. Yoon Do Jin eats a cookie with a fork. Do Won serves Yoon Do Jin more bread. It's amazing!
Episode three wins! Do Won wants to stay in the next day. Yoon Do Jin wants to go out. They decide to do their own thing BUT Yoon Do Jin needs money to go out, and he wants 1,000 pesos, so he has to haggle with Do Won who isn't budging. But just like the ladies at the market on day one, Yoon Do Jin is a dangerous man when he wants something.
Another bug appears, and Yoon Do Jin earns his paycheck after Do Won asks in English to "help me, please." They are wearing blue and green and I have no comment.
Episode 4 and THEY ARE COLOR CODED in the opening credits like they were in Love Tractor! Oh, they got me! I'm obsessed now.
Yoon Do Jin wakes up first and has to maneuver off the one bed to not wake up Do Won. He makes them breakfast, but it's very I-don't-know-what-I'm-doing-but-I'm-gonna-do-it-anyway breakfast.
He leaves a note telling Do Won to eat well and to meet him at 2 at a place, then heads out in the rain. Do Won thinks the food is sus. But he approves of it after numerous offensive faces.
Do Won draws. The posters behind him are his and the dog one says: "Without Love There is No Life" and "I Just Love You. Do I Need A Reason?" so he stayed in to recharge
and to finish drawing Yoon Do Jin a poster that is about being loved since everyone loves Yoon Do Jin so much.
Yoon Do Jin is out making a bracelet at a bar, and just like the hairdryer, he is taking it very seriously. If this is a friendship bracelet, I'm gonna lose it.
IT IS FOR DO WON!
They meet on the beach to go to SUNSET YOGA, my beloved, but Everyone's Best Friend Do Jin is getting loved by all the locals as he plays sand volleyball, so Do Won waits patently for him. Do Won tells him that breakfast was good.
Do Won wants to swim. Yoon Do Jin tells him to swim. Do Won says he can't because of the scheduled yoga. They get in another tiff with the yoga instructor as a witness. As everything they do, it's adorable.
Do Won, per usual, wants to carry all the mats and won't accept Yoon Do Jin's help.
They do sun salutations. The boys are not finding the peace they seek.
They look pissed, actually. Well, Do Won does. Yoon Do Jin looks amused that Do Won is so upset.
They go to a Spanish restaurant for dinner and order paella, croquettes, y gambas with sangria. Essential Spanish food, but Do Won gets upset that Yoon Do Jin starts drinking without saying cheers first, then refuses to drink. A tiff is had.
At the house, Yoon Do Jin notices the posters, but touches the other one that doesn't have the sentimental note from Do Won written on the back.
Yoon Do Jin notices that his breakfast note is still on the counter, so he writes something else as he screams "Hyung" eighty times as he has done each and every episode (which is why this show is called With My Dear Bro)
And CAMPING IS NEXT!

Polaroid Go tips and tricks - I really love this camera!
This is basically the post I wish I had read before and after I bought the Polaroid Go. I haven’t been able to find much info on tips and tricks, so I’m gonna share what I’ve learned, also with the intention of getting some feedback and hopefully more knowledge from the community 🙏🏻 Also, beware of the long post, I guess!
(NOTE: This is about the 2nd Gen Go, idk anything about the 1st Gen version).
The reasons I bought the Go instead of any other Instax or Polaroid camera:
☑️Analog camera instead of digital (I wasn’t sure about many other instant cameras). I wanted to restrict myself and not even have a screen to be able to tweak things or choose which picture I wanted to print. The goal for me was to learn photography in itself by using the “simplest” tools. If the picture turns out well, it’s because I’ve understood how to use the tools and how to get the most out of them (and sometimes I’m just lucky, let’s be honest!)
☑️Easy to carry around. I have ADHD, so I know that I will never do something if it feels like a bit too much work to get started on (for example, taking pictures outside if carrying it is a hassle). The Go was by far the best one in that sense.
☑️The film is cheaper than the other Polaroid films (at least that I’m aware of). This is huuuge for me, since I wanted to take as many pics as I could and not feel as bad if I “wasted” film with experiments and trials. Still not as affordable as Instax film though, but closer than other types.
☑️It has filters. I know, this might seem like a dumb reason, but I really wanted to get into this hobby because I wanted to relearn photography and go back to that feeling of physicality that used to inspire me back in college. I wanted to experiment with cellophane paper and with the chemistry of the film itself and whatever idea came to mind, and the filters added to that goal. Some instax cameras have unofficial filters, but they didn’t seem as… sturdy? Properly made? Idk, looks deceive and they could be great for all I know (if anyone has experience with them let me know, I’m curious!)
☑️Double exposure and flash On/Off options. Two other huge reasons why I chose this camera! For the same reasons as the one before: I wanted to experiment and be able to control the tool to take the pros and cons to the extreme.
☑️Accessories to carry it around and keep it safe (although I have things to say about some incompatibility issues).
That being said, things I don’t like as much:
🔻Can’t control exposure times and diaphragm aperture (sorry if the terms are incorrect, English is not my mother tongue and I learned the basics in Spanish). There are only two options and they’re automatic, so it’s a bit difficult to get it right. You can half press the shutter button to lock focus distance and light sensitivity though, but I haven’t mastered it quite yet.
🔻Polaroid film is not the most stable (I find it difficult to put this as a downside, I’m actually quite happy and even grateful that it works like this to the point that I count it as an extra tool and a huge part of the artistic process. Then again, sometimes you want things to work as you planned, so I’m guessing this can be a bad thing for many people).
🔻The film is still expensive, especially if you add shipping expenses. There aren’t nearly as many options as with other Polaroid cameras, the only available editions are the white frame and the black frame. I’d love to be able to use the peach frame, or a monochrome film, or the Bowie edition… but it seems like Polaroid doesn’t pamper the Go as much as its siblings
🔻Pictures tend to not be as sharp as the bigger films or it’s harder to get them right.
🔻Too much contrast between shadows and lights.
All in all, I’m really, really happy with it! I think it was the perfect choice for me, and I’m sad to see it isn’t as loved in the community (I’ve read though that the 1st gen wasn’t great, so that might be one of the reasons).
I also wanted to share my tips and tricks for different things!
🔳Double exposure: I'm still figuring things out, but so far my best takes have been in total darkness with very intense and direct light sources (a phone's flash directed to the camera, for example). For anyone who has never tried or doesn't know how this works: think of photography as painting with light on a black canvas. Total darkness means total lack of light, so you're not painting anything, right? This is especially useful for double exposure, which basically means taking two pictures in one. If you have absolute darkness with one small source of light and you take the first exposure, you still have plenty of "blank" canvas left, so the second exposure's lightened parts are gonna superimpose over the darkness of the first one. For example, in the first pic below the first take was for the two lines and circle (with the blue filter) and the second was for my friends' portraits (with a yellow filter). Play around with the shadows and lights, you can for example give some texture to the shadows of an otherwise well lit figure. For this reason I don't recommend using the flash, but hey, there's probably a good way to use both!
⚠️BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE TO IT. You wish you could take more than two exposures?? YOU ACTUALLY CAN. I just discovered this and I'm over the moon: double tap the flash button to turn on the double exposure mode, take the first one, turn the camera off; turn it on again, double tap for double exposure, AND THERE YOU GO, you are gonna take three exposures now. Do this ad infinitum if you want to (probably not the best idea for the film though). I'm so happy about this, you have no idea.
🔳Filters: I’m still getting used to them so I might be wrong, but generally speaking they reduce contrast. Pure blacks and whites will still be there if it's a well lit place, but you get more details on parts that would be otherwise slightly overexposed, and the middle tones don't get as dark. I also have a feeling that the flash works wonders on closer shots, tinting that plane more strongly with the filter, but as the flash reach fades into the background, the filter is not as visible (again, I'm basing this in just one picture that looks like that, I'll have to do more research). Another rule of thumb: yellow is the lightest color and blue is the darkest, so use them wisely. The blue filter is probably going to make the shot look a bit darker, and the yellow one might make it look too bright. I want to hear how anyone else feels about them, I might be completely on the wrong track with these!
🔳Incompatibilities between accessories: This one is annoying. I bought all together the hard case, the silicone skin, the travelling bag, the mini album, the wrist band, the bigger band and the filters. The main issue is the silicone skin, since if used the camera doesn't fit inside the hard case, AND you cannot add the filters to the camera because there's no window for it. I had to cut the frontal part of the skin so I could fit the filters, which is not ideal. I don't know how Polaroid has overlooked this particular thing, but yeah, be aware of that. The bands and the mini album have a ring with a clamp that allows you to attach them to each other or to other bags pretty easily.
🔳Using the countdown to get sharper pics. If your pulse is as unstable as mine and you're shooting a picture under dim lighting circumstances, I'd advise you to use the countdown tool to avoid any blurriness and shakiness. At least for me, when I click the shutter button I end up moving the camera slightly, which has slightly ruined some pics (this is not just Polaroid, it's just a general photography thing, but heavier cameras are not as sensitive to movement, I think. Physics, idk). So to avoid that, I just press the flash button for several seconds until a LED light lights up on the front of the camera. When you press the shutter, it counts down to 9, I think, and then takes the pic.
🔳Film temperature and development: Listen. Some people might complain about this, but I actually see it as another tool to take the shots that I want. I feel it's more impressionist-like than any other kind of photography, since it captures not just what the eye can see: it also kinda captures the impression and feeling of the moment. I've taken several pictures of my hometown, and it was around freezing temps outside, so when I took the first pic of course the shadows came off looking blueish and greenish, and they didn't get too dark at all. At first I was confused and a bit disappointed, but after two or three more shots I was ecstatic about it. It reminded me of the blueish greys Monet used in his paintings. I made some experimentation with the amount of time the pics developed in the cold and it's just so much fun. So yeah, id say use it in your favour! Remember to keep it close to the body in the cold to avoid it, and maybe some insulated pockets for the heat (Polaroid sells a bag for the camera with one such pocket, but I feel it doesn't work too well against the cold, would have to try in hotter temps). ALSO, sometimes it will take several days for the shadows to get as strong as they'll get! Especially if the pic developed in cold temps.
🔳Let entropy be part of it. Just experiment with the camera. Take lots of double exposure pics to try specific things without wasting as much film. Remember: sometimes the pics won't come out as perfect as you'd like, but often enough the reason might be something you might have done wrong; other times, it's just bad luck with the film or something else. Sometimes those imperfections add to the feeling of the picture. And sometimes you half-assedly take a shot and it turns out to be especially interesting. It can feel like every pic is a conversation between you and the camera (as cheesy as this might sound), and some things that you find compelling the camera might not be too thrilled about; sometimes you can convince it, and sometimes it shows you the beauty of something you didn't pay too much attention to. Take all of the pictures as learning opportunities, adapt to the tools you have. This camera can be really good for what it is, but it has its own personality (and so does the film), and sometimes it takes a while to warm up to new people, right? (Instead I feel like I just found my new best friend right off the bat LMAO)
🔳Finally, Polaroid's app isn't necessarily created for the Go, since it doesn't have any Bluetooth tools, but it does help with scanning. I'd recommend giving it a Go (pun intended), since it already crops and fixes the perspective of the image to show just the frame and photo. I normally have to edit it so that it looks a bit closer to the physical picture, but that's just me going the extra mile.
I think that's it! I'm still thinking about how to store or showcase the pictures in a nice way, do you guys have any ideas? How do you do it? I'm also saving all the used film cartridges (is that the right word?), I don't know what for but I want to do something with them! I've seen people displaying pictures in them though... Any ideas?

THE FACT THAT EPISODE 4 HAS LUCIUS AND IZZY DEMONSTRATE THE EXACT SAME LEVEL OF SAILING SKILL AND SEAFARING KNOWLEDGE
before i really dive into that tho i just want to quick point out how perfectly the show sets up this comparison:
so when ed asks izzy, "What've we got here?" izzy gives his summary of the situation. the ship is damaged, and the crew is "bottom of the barrel." what's interesting about this is how, as izzy's saying this, the camera pans from roach and frenchie picking up wood and debris off the deck (which is actually useful work) to lucius absentmindedly tapping the railing with a hammer while he listens to pete talk, not even looking at what he's doing. and in case we missed it, the next time that the camera cuts away from izzy and ed's conversation it brings us to lucius and pete, and the audience clearly sees how lucius is putting minimal effort into fixing the ship. he has one hand on his cocked hip, the other one loosely holding the hammer, and he's not so much hitting the railing as he is letting the hammer bob around in his loose wrist, occasionally knocking against the railing. so clearly the show wants us to know that lucius is not one for manual labor, and it wants us to know that izzy knows this about him, and that's why izzy considers lucius to be "bottom of the barrel"
now, getting into how this episode shows us that Izzy Is Not That Great At Sailing:
FIRSTLY we have the frankfurter cloud conversation. ive already discussed how this scene serves as proof of izzy's sailing incompetence so im not gonna get into that in depth here (if you read that post i recommend also looking through the notes, there are a lot of good takes there). the short version: izzy should've known that the weather matters in sailing. i'm not saying he should've been able to figure out ed's whole plan, or that he should've known that the cloud shape meant that the fog would roll in, but he should've at LEAST realized that when his pirate captain asked him a question about the clouds, he wasn't just commenting on the shape of the clouds for the hell of it. izzy should've wondered if the shape of the clouds meant anything to ed, and he should've asked ed about it.
SECONDLY. so this one's a small one but when lucius walks in on ed staring at stede, presumably he's doing it to try and get his captain to help with The Situation. it's unclear if lucius wants help with the fact that they're currently being occupied by blackbeard's crew, or if he's referring to the fact that the scene right before this one is buttons pointing out the approaching spanish ships. the way lucius says "things have taken a very-" makes me think he was gonna talk about "things" taking a turn for the worse, meaning that lucius is seeking out his captain to get his help avoiding Death By Spanish. aka The Thing Izzy Spends The Whole Episode Doing
so lucius, who izzy considers to be a "bottom of the barrel" and "absolutely useless" crew member, has the same strategy for trying to escape the spanish that izzy does: he asks his boss to do something about it. izzy doesnt come up with a plan until it's too late for anything except "fight to the death," which is a terrible idea and would definitely get them all killed.
THIRDLY, FOURTHLY, AND SO ON: ok so. izzy shouldve thought about the cloud conversation a bit more. he and lucius both had the same Ask The Boss approach to problem solving. but it's the reveal of ed's genius plan where things get really interesting.
at the reveal of The Fog, everyone thinks ed's solved everything with his sheer genius, including izzy. he says "i don't believe it" because how ed could've predicted the weather down to the minute like this, but ed fixes him with this stare and izzy decides not to question ed any further
interestingly enough, stede does question further by asking ed how he knew this would happen, and that's how we end up getting an actual explanation of how ed knew this fog was coming. it makes me wonder if izzy ever asks ed to explain how ed comes up with his plans, or if he just lets himself be impressed and amazed (which would further reinforce izzy's image of ed as the most brilliant sailor he’s ever met and also half-insane). i also think it's worth pointing out that it's not just the clouds that helped ed predict the weather. ed says, "the color of this morning's sky coupled with the brisk westerly wind made me think we'd be safe." and notice how izzy is paying attention. just like stede, izzy also needs an explanation to understand how ed knew this would happen. ed's plan is just as mystifying and brilliant to izzy as it is to the rest of the crew. (and that's not a diss on izzy, more a remark on how ed is written to be a Literal Genius)
and when ed says, "and then the shape of the clouds confirmed it," that's when izzy realizes that ed's been planning for this the whole time. and crucially, izzy isn't mad at ed for not being upfront with him. muttering "fuck me" under his breath implies that izzy's mad at himself for not realizing ed had a plan. izzy HIMSELF recognizes that he should've been able to pick up ed's hint about the frankfurters
but do you know what izzy doesn't realize?? another crucial piece of ed's plan that izzy doesn't question, and that izzy most likely wouldn't have questioned even if ed had told him outright that he knew a fog was going to roll in once dusk fell and they'd be hidden from the spanish??
the Revenge is right in their path
izzy hands, alleged "only competent sailor on the Revenge," did not think about this fact. nobody thought of this fact except for ed, who thought he'd successfully planned around it, and buttons. buttons, who is implied to be the only person on stede's crew with actual significant sailing experience, who can spot ships without a telescope and is implied to have some level of magical ability. and this tells me that even if ed had actually told izzy "fog's gonna roll in at dusk, we'll be fine" it is a goddamn reach to say that izzy would've had anything to say aside from "good plan, boss."
then, and ONLY then, does ed mention the date. and another important detail: ed also says that tonight's a full moon, and that's not what izzy contests. ed could've said tonight was a full moon without saying it was september 2nd, and it's very possible that izzy wouldn't have realized ed was wrong. izzy doesn't deny that it's a full moon. the only thing izzy denies is the calendar date. and he's not the only one who does that
LUCIUS. COMPLETELY USELESS, BOTTOM OF THE BARREL, CANT EVEN HOLD A HAMMER RIGHT LUCIUS. IZZY WAS NOT ESSENTIAL TO ED'S ABILITY TO COME UP WITH A PLAN. THE INFORMATION THAT IZZY PROVIDED WAS NOT SOMETHING ONLY IZZY COULD PROVIDE.
one of the very first things izzy does this episode is call stede's crew shitty, but the the only skill or expertise that izzy demonstrates this entire episode is poor management skills and the ability to read Ye Olde Calendar. the one piece of relevant information izzy provides the whole episode is something that the ship's Laziest Gay also knew. the camera pans to lucius when izzy's calling stede's crew useless, but izzy ends up being ends up being exactly as useful to ed this episode as lucius is. less, if you remember that ed used lucius as a timer!!!!

idk if its a mistake in the spanish dub (of the deadpool and wolverine movie) but there is an scene where wade calls creed "logans brother" and i had to reach out to my friend in the dark and whisper to her "this is a lie" LMAO
nah he says that shit in the english version too unfortunately. and its not even the right sabretooth??? mr ryan deadpool reynolds u were IN the one canon where they were brothers ffs. who tf wrote this film.

ok so first of all right off the bat i noticed the little fox on the bottom! but also above that is “A labyrinth of lost souls” (now i know this might be reaching but idk!) so i looked up “a labyrinth of lost souls” and immediately got a bunch of links talking about assassins creed! and i quickly read over one of the links and saw that there’s a ring involved?!?!? and i immediately thought of the ring that y/n got from her mother! but i also saw there’s another game called wizardry: labyrinth of lost souls! so that could also be what you’re talking about!!! idk if either of those are relevant but for now this is just a quick rundown of what i can gather right now!
ok next are the the little moons in the top corners with the woman sitting in them! idk what meaning you have behind them rn but what i got from them is the fact that they are not full moons and she’s sitting inside of them while it kids looks like the moon is curving into her in a way? like trying to reach to her? idk again just the vibe i’m getting! ALSO THERES STARS IN THE MOON!!! WOLFSTAR!!! not only are there stars in the moon but there’s a single star outside of the moon but also in it? with the woman! it almost looks like the woman is sitting inside the moon admiring the star!!! idk!

i believe the constellation in the middle is cassiopeia but i could be wrong. i don’t know for sure i looked up the story and don’t see how it fits in right now but maybe later in the story? hmmm
i can’t figure out what the one on the right is but hopefully i will find out soon!!! like i said this is just be briefly looking at the cover because i got so excited and couldn’t wait!!!

Tinny little fun fact so you don’t rack your brain over this one: Labyrinth of Souls was actually my second top option for naming Gilded Constellations, I wanted it to have a very David Bowie-esque vibe which is why Labyrinth (literally from the movie The Labyrinth, was just perfect, but I felt it was too corny (especially when the first iteration was Labyrinth of Hearts) that I went for Gilded Constellations instead.
Gilded being inspired by Golden Years from Bowie, and constellations because our babies are our moon and stars. In Spanish we have a word that’s “Astros” which roughly translates to “all the things in the sky” but there is no cool version of it in English so constellations it was in the end.
Aaaalso, theories are so freaking fun, I thought I’d let you guys run with them, so I’m helping you recruit some of my other readers, especially the ones that always approach me with theories since I feel like you could have lots of fun together theorizing over the cover: @moonyunebi @starchaser-lily @blacksgarden @loving-and-dreaming @imdoingbetternow (no pressure btw)
