Take things with humor, and do so genuinely.
You're allowed to drop things while handling your altar. It's okay if your throat makes that weird air sound in the middle of your silent meditation. You're allowed to do that one step in your ritual you keep nearly forgetting a little out of order.
No one is going to come scold you because it went a little wrong. Smile about it. Maybe imagine someone on the receiving end smiling a little bit, too.

I finally put up my art print of Aristaios (god of beekeeping, but also SO MANY other "rural arts") and I feel so much peace looking at it 🥺 I love him a lot, he deserves this incredible art ^-^

Friendly reminder that you are not obligated to worship the Gods as they were traditionally worshipped. Incorporating modern practices of ancient religions is just as valid. Remember that you can create a regime that caters to your schedule, health, and financial situation. They understand and appreciate the acknowledgment you are able to give.

Can you imagine being Semele?
You witness Father Zeus in all His divine glory,
He is wreathed in lightning, hearing the booming thunder of His voice;
You are consumed by the fires of His love.
Your heart bursts with bliss, the holy ecstasy,
You are more alive than you ever have been.
Vines engulf your soul, anticipating
The Wine of Zeus, the Mighty One.
Lips move to pray, but you scream:
"Evoi, evoi! Everliving Zeus; my lord Dionysos!"
As your mind crumbles before divine things;
As your body burns away;
All you can feel is joy and hope.
--
Father Zeus, Great Lord,
May You kindle our souls
With Your fire.
May we be as Semele,
dancing as we burn.

Slowly adding chthonic Hermes to the Hades altar.
Made passion flower and white tea with milk and sugar.
A few new gifts since many months ago: black and gold bracelets on the gilded hand for Hades, blue and silver on the solid hand for Hermes. Pigeon and short raven feathers, embroidered winged heart a bit too big for the main shelf. Can’t remember what else is new since last time.

Don’t feel bad if you can’t safely do an offering, be it rules about fire/incense, home life, or literally anything- you don’t need physical offerings. Your worship is enough. Your thoughts are enough. A simple prayer muttered before getting in the car, brushing your teeth in their honor, turning off the lights and thanking Hestia. WHATEVER it is, it’s enough.

"Prayers in Greek religion…generally have a tripartite form, consisting in a preliminary invocation, some sort of argument or narrative that explains why the divinity should grant the prayer, and the actual wish itself. The invocation serves to get the god's attention and request the god's presence, often invoking the god by a variety of epithets and titles that identify the god. Such addresses are not so much to make sure that the prayer reaches the right entity as to begin the process of establishing the identities of the participants in the prayer relation. Often these invocations enumerate the many places where the god has power and the many epithets that indicate the special powers and functions of the god. The process of identifying the participants in the relationship continues in the argument section, which often sets out a narrative of the god's past deeds or of the previous relationship, the history of the interactions and exchanges of favors between god and mortal. The actual wish of the prayer may come at the very beginning, but often comes at the end of the prayer, following all the descriptions of the status of the god and the mortal and their relationship that provide the reasons why the god should grant the mortal's request."
Types of prayers
Da quia dedi: give because I have given = strongest kind of claim; you have done X and Y for the god, now it's their turn to give you favors
Da quia dedisti: give because you have given previously = you rely on the fact that the relationship has been established and reciprocation has taken place before.
Da quia dedit: give because he/she/they gave previously = Mortals can appeal to a relationship that has been set up by someone else, esp. someone close to you
Asking a lesser divinity to do something and invoking the power of a higher divinity to ensure that it happens
Do ut des: I give so that you might give = no history implied but you are offering a favor in hopes of reciprocation. Not as strong as prayers referencing past relationships.
Da ut dem: give so that I will give = desperate/presumptuous - ask for favor and promise future reciprocation. Often used for votive dedications; weakest form of prayer since there's no precedent or present gift.
Da ut dare possum: give so that I shall be able to give = if deity doesn't help right away, there will not be an ongoing reciprocal relationship/no chance for mortal to provide offerings later
Supplication: stresses helplessness and inability to give something right now, but asks deity to open a relation that may involve reciprocity in the future.
"…a mortal must always offer something to the deity, even if it is only words of praise. The more elaborately crafted the hymn, the more beautiful the poetry, the more exhaustive the praises of the deity, the more of a favor it provides for the god." (emphasis mine)

You do not have to wait to be 'called' to worship a god.
You do not have to wait until you've seen a dozen signs or omens. You can see 100 and still feel unsure of yourself.
Desire to worship is enough.
Desire to learn from the gods is enough.
Desire to love them is enough.
If you're new to this kind of spirituality, you need to be patient with yourself and give yourself some grace. Looking for signs everywhere will tire you. It will burn you out. More than anything, if you wait to be called, you may perceive lack of communication as rejection and never pursue it at all. You don't have to miss out waiting on something. Sometimes, the initiative on your part is just calling enough. Do it. If it feels right, keep doing it.
If you have love to give, why not give it?
If you've been at this a long time, don't lose heart because you think the gods aren't paying attention. If you want to worship, DO IT. Why not?
Don't wait for signs just to second guess yourself a hundred times and never make a move.
And trust me, I understand that you're afraid of doing it wrong. Do it genuinely. Take it slow, be deliberate. You don't need to master it right away. You don't need an expensive altar. You don't need fancy candles. You don't need a statue. Don't let life pass you by waiting for the money to buy the materials you feel like you have to have in order to be respectful.
The gods don't mind if you're poor or nervous or tired, and they don't mind if you are in a living situation where you can't have those sacred spaces.
Approach. Speak. They will hear you.

I truly feel I've been given a mini but amazing blessing today that may sound silly to some, but I love it! Like, I have a rather long history of actually being able to believe in my beliefs due to overthinking and I've been trying my hardest to be like "you've got all the proof you need, there are many people like you who are happy to help, they're real and you're fine". And it's been hard, but I feel I've been truly getting there!
So, what better way to be rewarded than being told out of seemingly nowhere (because I certainly didn't know about this until two days prior to it dropping thanks to my dad) that a golf show is returning for season 2 with my favourite golfer as the main star?
Sure, it sounds stupid, but it's a little treat that I am so happy about especially as I'm trying to watch more actual shows in my freetime.
I don't know whether it was a team effort to bestow this upon me, or it was a certain group of beings I believe in, but either way I don't care because I'm eternally grateful to see my favourite golfer on tv XD
