pt.2 to my "simon riley is down bad for Johnny's little princess"
they were on leave, johnny invited simon over to his place in inverness, promising to take him hiking and fishing. when simon knocked on the door it was you who opened it, a graceful smile and a hand on his shoulder as you ushered him inside.
walking up the stairs to the guest room he was staying in was painful, with how tight his pants got the second you touched him. you talked to him, asking him if it was his first time in scotland, what kind of food he liked, all simon could do was grunt and nod, not trusting his voice, the images running through his mind were diabolical.
third day of his stay simon was sure he'd died and gone to heaven. you pranced around the house wearing skin tight shorts and one of johnny's old shirts, your hair put up messily as you swayed to whatever music was playing on the telly. it was getting hard to conceal his boners, simon was about fifty percent sure johnny noticed how he would always excuse himself when you touched him.
on the fourth day simon was woken up by a conversation you were having with johnny.
" c'mon lass you were the one that wanted this remember? why you backin' out now? leaving the poor fella with blue balls are ya?" you two were in the kitchen, johnny's hands on your hips as he was grinding against your backside, crowding you to the island.
" i know love but he's too shy! maybe he isn't ready? nothing he's done makes me sure that he would comfortable with it?" simon continued creeping around in the hallway, listening to a conversation he was sure was about him.
" bonnie you cannae be that stupid, poor lad is about to walk into an early grave if ya give him another boner" that caused heat to crawl up simon's face, he stood in the doorway, watching how johnny slid his hand up your shirt and tugged on your nipple, eliciting a moan so heavenly from your mouth that simon was already half hard in his sweats.
johnny looked behind him and his eyes zeroed in on simon, a wicked smile flashing on his face. suddenly he turned you around, a debauched look on your face as he put one hand on your chin and forced eye contact between you and the lieutenant.
" what do you say lt? ready to make this wet dreams of your's a reality?"
thats how simon ended up kneeling near the bed where you were sprawled out, johnny holding your pussy lips open as he made simon watch how your wetness was seeping from your slit.
" go on lt, she don't bite" that was all that simon needed, his nose was pressed into your wetness before the words were fully out of johnny's mouth. a groan left his pretty lips as he tasted you for the first time.
one of johnny's hands left your body and found themselves fisted in simon's hair, guiding his face around your wet cunt, whispering instructions on how to make you feel good.
"you should see what she looks like as she cums lt, might make you cream in your pants the noises she makes" johnny's hand in simon's hair tightened as the latter pushed his tongue into you, another mewl escaping your lips at the action.
soon enough you were squirming on the bed, your hands clawing at simon's shoulders as your first orgasm of the night washed over you. johnny didn't let the lieutenant up for a breath, forcing him to lap at your clit as you were coming down the waves of euphoria.
with a crazed look johnny ripped simon's head away from your wetness and brought him in for a kiss, tasting your juices on his tongue. simon started humping the leg of the bed, becoming near overstimulated as the kiss from johnny tipped him over the edge and he came. shuddering, whining and ruining his sweatpants in the process.
you crawled up from your laying position and cooed at simon, softly running your hands through his hair as johnny maneuvered the bigger man onto the bed. short, labored breaths fell out of simon's mouth as you started pawing at his shirt, slowly raising it up and cupping his chest. your fingers grazing his nipples, making simon's hips buck off the bed.
"such a good boy for us ain't he lass? look at him, all stupid in the head from eating your cunny and getting one kiss." johnny said as he crawled up onto the bed with you two, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he turned to his superior. "we ain't done here yet ghost".
your hands found simon's bulge and you started cupping him through his sweatpants. you let out a giggle as you felt his cock twitch at your touch. slowly you pushed your hand into his sweats and briefs, a small gasp leaving your mouth as you felt how big he was even half hard.
simon threw his head back and let out a deep groan the second your soft fingers touched him. his eyes trained on your lips as he leaned in to kiss you hungrily. it was messy and wet, with no real technique to it. simon just knew he needed to feel you.
"please love lemme put it in, please i'll make ya feel good" johnny chuckled at how the big bad scary ghost was asking his sweetheart to let him wet his dick.
"whaddya ken lassie? should we let him?" simon had tears brimming the corners of his eyes, johnny's taunting words and your touch being nearly enough to send him over the edge, the second you nodded simon was fumbling his pants down his legs.
both you and johnny stopped for a moment to admire just how thick and heavy simon's cock was. he was sliding it up and down your slit, small spurts of pre sliding from his tip and smearing all over your puffy lips and clit.
simon's hips stuttered the second his tip breached the entrance to your cunt. you were so warm, holding him there in a vice grip. johnny shushed you with placing kisses on your brow and the corner of your mouth, one of his hands coming down to play with your clit while you adjusted to the sheer size of simon's tip.
" look at him lassie, he's stretching you out so good" johnny groaned out and forced you to look down at where you and simon were connected. the lieutenant was shaking, it was taking everything in him not to just snap his hips into you and cum like a teenager.
" go on si, you can push in more" you whispered out and looked at him with so mich trust in your eyes that simon had to look away, suddenly feeling to exposed. instead he focused in sliding into you slowly, letting you get used to his size.
when he was fully sheathed in he started rocking his hips, slow and shallow at first, but speeding up as more noises started falling from your lips. he could hear johnny praising him, but simon couldn't make out the exact words, the ringing in his ears as your hot cunt swallowed him reverberated through his mind.
he pulled out, leaving only the tip in, just to piston into you. simon grabbed both yoir legs and threw your ankles over his shoulders, he hunched over you put you into a mating press.
" so. fucking. good. for. me. you take this cock like you were born for it" each word was in rhythm with his brutal strokes, the bed creaking under the force. johnny laughed and asked if simon was trying to fuck you inot the mattress.
the men both saw when your eyes rolled back and a dumb smile overtook your features. you fluttered around simon as he fucked you through your second orgasm of the night. johnny grunted and pushed his hand into his pants, pulling his angry, hard dick out and started lazily pumping it.
" go on then lt, gimme a show" a few more strokes and simon was pushing impossibly deep into you. the overstimulation causing you to sob as you felt his got seed shoot against your cervix.
he was shaking, his head was empty. simon rutted into you through his own overstimulation, riding out the last waves of his orgasm until it got painful. he slowly pulled out, watching his cum dribble out of your used cunt, and then collapsed onto the bed.
johnny patted his head and gave him a quick kiss. "good boy simon"
your boyfriend tutted as he watched the cum ooze out of you.
"not nice bonnie, simon here tried so hard to breed ya and you're lettin' it go to waste?" before you could even answer johnny pushed his cock into you, fucking simon's cum back into your hole.
simon watched the scene in front of him with hazy eyes, leaning over towards you at some point and sucking on your right nipple. your sweaty and spent body was so pliant for both men, you were like a little toy just for them to use and break.
" 's t' much johhny, cannae take it anymo'" your pleas were met with small, cruel laughs as johnny cooed at you and went faster.
simon found his hand creeping down to your cunt, his fingers skimming over your abused clit, making you sob louder.
with a final thrust johnny was growling as he pulled out and came onto simon's chest. little stray spurts landing on his chin. thats when you let out a scream and gushed.
johnny's blue eyes were dazed, watching your pussy gape around nothing, as your juices kept dribbling out.
"oh sweet girl, we made ya squirt" he said lovingly and placed a kiss on your forehead, momentarily leaving you and simon alone on the bed as he went to fetch a towel to clean both of you up.
you turned over to your side and wrapped your arms around simon's torso, your nose pressed in between his shoulder blades as your fingers traced faded scars on his hips.
johnny returned at some point, cleaned you up and laid behind you, his strong arms snaking around your waist and he pulled the covers over you three.
it was dead silent, you could hear johnny start to snore when simon spoke up.
" how long were you two planning this?" you giggled and pressed a kiss to his exposed back.
"johnny could hear you moan my name like a schoolboy every night. we made up our mind when you walked into the doors of the house. now sleep, you did so good today" simon nodded and closed his eyes, sleep overtaking his tired body.

THE MERMAID AND THE COOK — Sanji x mermaid reader
Tumblr media
Summary: once the Straw Hats begin their journey, Sanji notices a figure floating in the waves of the ocean after a storm. Nothing will be the same for him.
Pairing: Sanji x female reader, who is also a mermaid.
Word count: 2.03k.
Warnings: reader mermaid suffered, some angst and fluff, language, nudity, suggestive stuff. Written in third person, female pronouns. No use of Y/n this time. As all my works, no skin color, hair color, or any kind of specific physicial description is mentioned.
Notes: This is situated after the first season. I just saw the netflix live action and barely starting watching the anime, so I am sorry for any discrepancies with the One Piece universe. And forgive my English. Thanks lol.
I had to write something for Sanji. This man is consuming me. Thanks to this show because I am on a writers block and it was a miracle I finished this. ;-;
☕ if you like my writing, support me with a ko-fi !
GEN MASTERLIST!
Tumblr media
The morning was sunny, the sky looked clear, and the crew barely finished washing and cleaning the deck. Thanks to the storm last night, they woke up to a whole mess of fishes, wood, seaweed and a lot of shit Sanji didn't want to remember by now.
Finally, the deck of the Going Merry was how it was supposed to be. The last storm they encountered was so strong that the blonde man thought they would not make it this time. But they survived a lot of shit now, didn't they.
Once Luffy and Usopp set everything, they ordered the crew to come to the kitchen and have a proper breakfast after all the hard work, even if it was noon already. Sanji followed last, tired and all sweaty because of the sunlight. However, something caught up his attention as he walked near the rail before he could get inside. A wood plank floating in the ocean, and on top of it a figure lying face down. He couldn't see clearly, but he was sure it was a woman.
Nami stopped his steps once he did not follow. "Are you not coming?"
Her voice disappeared in the air as Sanji got closer to the rail to observe the woman floating in the middle of the ocean. The waves were still a little big even after hours passed since the storm completely stopped, and they guided the plank with the figure closer to the ship. He knew he had to do something.
"Oi! There's someone in the ocean!"
Nami quickly came by his side to see what he was seeing and left, calling the crew to help. Sanji took some ropes, Usopp appeared to assist with them. Nami arrived with Zoro and Luffy, and they helped the guys to bring the plank to the ship. Once the plank was up, they settled it on the deck carefully. Everyone looked in awe at what they caught.
"It's a mermaid," Nami whispered.
The crew went silent.
The brilliant tail gave it all away. Sanji was the first to get closer, kneeling by her side, making sure she was still breathing. The long hair and the soft scales adorning her body enamoured his blue eyes in seconds. He still had yet to see her face, but he felt attracted to the mermaid after seconds of saving her from a fatal fate.
Softly he pulled some locks of wet hair, with some seaweed tangled in them, to look at her face. Or at least try to.
"Is she okay?" Luffy sounded worried. "We have to help her."
"She is wounded," Usopp said, pointing at a tiny trail of blood coming from her tail.
"Let's take her to my room," Nami said.
Sanji nodded, calling Zoro for help. Both of them took the plank with the mermaid, still in deep sleep, to Nami's quaters. There, Sanji used some of Zeff's old teachings to treat wounds with bandages and fish skin. Nami assisted in turning the mermaid around and cleaning her skin and hair. The rest of the crew silently watched them assisting the mermaid.
Finally they were able to see her face. Sanji thought she was as beautiful as the sunrise. Two shells covered her breasts, which Nami made sure to fix along with the pearl necklace hanging on her neck. It was precious. Everything about her was to the cook's eyes.
Suddenly her tail sparkled softly and two legs started to form little by little, the human skin making its appearance starting from her feet.
"You guys have to leave," Nami announced, turning to Luffy, Usopp and Zoro.
"Why only us?" Usopp questioned. "Why doesn't he leaves too?"
"Sanji's knowledge is essencial right now," Nami explained. "And we don't want her flustered with all these eyes."
Zoro sighed, forcing the so called captains out of the room between protests. "She's right, let's go."
Nami murmured a silent 'thank you'.
"If you need anything I'll be outside," that was the last thing Zoro said before closing the door.
Sanji started to remove quickly a small bandage around her waist, which was still covered with her tail, however, it converted in skin before he could finish. So now here she was, with to legs and half naked before the eyes of two pirates.
The mermaid let out a breath and her eyes opened wide, encountering herself on a ship. A new ship.
"Is okay, you're safe," Nami whispered in a motherly way. "We just want to help you."
The mermaid was visibly scared. She looked first at the woman with the orange hair before taking a sight of the blonde man. His hands were still in the bandage around her waist. Sanji could swear she gasped once they looked directly into each others eyes. Yes, she was absolutely stunning.
She smiled softly.
"I'm not with them anymore..."
Nami and Sanji finished treating her wounds and cleaning her skin as much as they could. Nami gave her some clothes and they let her rest and sleep before asking more about what she went through.
During the next few hours, Sanji couldn't stop thinking about the mermaid. On the way her eyes were shining and the delicacy of the scales on her skin and tail. Even with legs she was beautiful. And the picture of the bare woman waking up will not be forgotten in a long time. Once he heard her name when Nami asked, Sanji knew he will keep it in his mind forever.
The crew reunited for dinner that night and Sanji made sure to have a plate for the mermaid. While his mates played some card games, after making a lot of questions about the mermaid, he walked to the room Nami was sharing with her. Hopefuly she would like to eat something by now, he thought. Sanji knocked twice before entering and found the mermaid sitting on the bed with a book.
"I believe you'd like to have something to eat," Sanji smiled and made his way to her.
"This is so nice from you, thank you," she said, placing the book aside and taking in the plate in her soft hands.
Sanji served a cup of water on the little wood nightstand for her and he took a seat on a wood bench near the bed, watching her eat the meal he prepared for the crew with joy.
"It's delicious," she beamed. "I don't recall having something like this in a long time."
"I feel pleased knowing you like it."
They embarked in a kind conversation soon after and it felt like they knew each other for years. Sanji was his normal flirty self again, speaking about the Straw Hats and his life as a chef, and now, as a pirate, to seek the All Blue. He soon found out he loved hearing her talk about the sea and everything she encountered on her numerous journeys with mystical creatures and cities built deep in the ocean.
Sadly, her last adventure was not a happy one. She had been kidnaped by some pirates who looked for fantastic and rare creatures, mermaids being one of them. They wanted to trade her for gold and berries, but then the storm came and destroyed the ship, drowning the pirates with the savage ocean waves.
"Thankfuly I am here now," she finished her story.
"I am so glad I saw you," Sanji whispered. With a lot of care, his fingers caressed a lock of hair, placing it behind her ear. They were so close that the blonde man could hear her heart beating on her chest.
He observed her eyes and lips, the pretty features of her face and he wanted nothing more but to finally kiss her.
Sanji slowly leaned, feeling like a spell was casted on him to absolutely fall head over heels for her, yearning to have a taste of her lips–
"Can we go outside?" she mumbled before their lips could touch. "I would like to have some air."
Sanji's eyes traveled between her eyes and her biting her lower lip.
"Of course, my lady. Anything you want."
So he took her to the deck, giving her his coat before they went out. And this repeated for days. The strolls on the deck became her favorite thing as time passed.
The mermaid was welcome by the crew as she healed little by little. The Straw Hats eventually knew what happened to her, mostly from Sanji's words, and they treated her like one of them already. And though nothing was really clarified, Luffy and Usopp made her laugh through the day, Nami slowly became a good friend, Zoro was a cold but interesting guy and Sanji made her feel at home.
She would spend most of her time with him on the kitchen and helping the blonde man around the ship to pass the time and most important, to say thanks to all of them.
On the seventh night after her arrival, Sanji took her to the deck after dinner. He gave her his coat, as usual, just in case it was too cold for her. But in reality, he loved her essence on his clothes.
They walked to the rail and she wrapped her arms around his right one, feeling the air of the night as the Going Merry sailed to their next adventure. It was good that the weather was a lot better and the waves seemed quieter than before.
In silence, Sanji felt the warmth of the mermaid, wrapped around his coat and wearing one of Nami's dresses. And still, with that few fabric over her figure, Sanji thought she looked like a princess. They stayed like that for a long time. No words were needed as they enjoyed the cold air of the ocean and the sight of the clear sky above them.
"I would love to see the All Blue," she said after a while, leaning more on him.
His lips curved in a smile. "Why don't you come with us?"
A soft chuckle left her lips.
"Don't you need to ask your captain?"
"I have the feeling we can have some help from a mermaid," Sanji said. "Luffy will say yes with no hesitation."
"Well, I have some abilities that might be useful," she left his arm and turned until she was face to face with the cook. She studied his features. As much as she was trying hard not to admit it, he was handsome and kind. A gentleman. The exact definition of a gentleman. After all she went through it was such heaven to have him. "Do you flirt with every mermaid you encounter?" she asked in a playful way.
It was Sanji's turn to laugh softly.
"Only the ones that like my food."
"I like you," she smiled. "As much as I liked your food."
Sanji came closer to her, trapping her body softly between his own and the rail on her back.
"Please tell me I can kiss you now," he whispered against her lips. "I've been holding all these time..."
She nodded. "You may kiss me now."
No further words were needed as his lips finally got a taste from her. His hands grabbed her sides in a delicate manner and her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. Her lips were soft, as much as he imagined they would be.
Sanji loved the heat of her body against his, how she played with his hair and the way her fingers tangled with his blonde locks as they pressed their chests together, not wanting to let go forever. The kiss soon grew heated and a soft moan left her lips. A moan he swallowed through the kiss, and he wished it would never end. He knew it would not be the last kiss they share, though.
Once they fell out of breath, they pulled away slowly ans Sanji rested his forehead against hers.
"Stay," he said.
"You know I will," she smiled. Sanji pecked her lips until an annoying voice was heard.
"Finally the lovebirds!" Luffy shouted some meters away from both of them, announcing the crew that the mermaid and the cook were together.

Day 11 of Kinktober: Swimming Around With Arthur Curry
Pairing: Arthur Curry x fem!reader
Warning: making out, eating out
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV
Arthur took me this magical place that I’ve never seen in any books or the internet before but it looks so majestic and the plants, never seen before either.
“Where are we?” I say still looking around at the place.
“This is where I became king of the ocean.” He says behind me.
“Really? Where were you at in this place when you became king?” I turn around and said.
“Right down that pond.” He points at the pond.
“What’s down there?” I question.
“The Karathen.“ He whispers in my ear.
“Is that where we’re going to, is that why you brought us here?” I look at him.
“Oh god no, we’re going over there.” He points to a waterfall.
“That looks gorgeous.” I look at the waterfall.
“You wanna go for a swim?” He asks.
“Yeah sure.” I said.
Arthur and I get undressed and Arthur dives into the pond where the waterfall is. He pops out of the water and swims up to me.
“The water feels great Y/N/N.” He says.
I look at him and then look at the water, I get in the water and the water does feel good! Arthur wraps his arms around my body to guide me where he’s going to. I lay my head on his shoulder, holding on to him as well.
We get behind the waterfall and the wall looks like it has crystals all of it, it looks beautiful.
“This looks beautiful Arthur.” I unwrap myself from Arthur.
“Not as beautiful as you.” He smirks.
I look down and chuckle.
I sit on a small edge where the wall of crystals are, Arthur swims towards me and getting up to my level, I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist. I hold him close to make us be nose to nose.
“How you feelin’?” He says in a deep voice.
“I’m fine.” I chuckle.
“You wanna try something?” He whispers in my ear.
“What?” I ask.
He looks at me, he leans in and kisses me, I smile in the kiss, I wrap my legs around him and he takes us to a different wall. I tug on his hair and he kisses my neck which made me moan.
He stops kissing my neck and looks at me with those blue eyes, he goes under water and I can feel him touch my body and I feel something inside me, how can this be possible? I moan even louder and I can feel him touching me under water and his tongue touching my clit. He continues to do this for a minute or two and then I hear something in the water even though the water fall is so loud I feel like nothing can hear me scream in pleasure.
I stop Arthur from eating me out and to make him see what I’m hearing, it’s a fish that I’ve never seen before in my life.
“Y/N/N, you don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen, I’m here to protect you.” Arthur says cresting my cheek.
“Arthur I’m scared about anything in this area and I’m just scared something might happen to me with who or what is out there.” I said holding him close to me.
“That’s why I’m here to protect you, animals can understand me and I can understand them, believe me Y/N, I love you so much, I wouldn’t let a bug get near you.”
I think I’m blushing, he’s so sweet to me and he would kill anything if someone or something would try to hurt me, I love him.
“Arthur, can we kiss again? I actually feel safe with you when you do that.” I softly touch his hair.
“Anything to make my girl happy.” He smirks.
He kisses me and it felt like we were kissing for hours but it felt like it was 6 minutes. I felt things surrounding us but I kept on kissing him, I feel so safe with him.

Gods Have Mercy (Daemon x Reader)
Tumblr media
This was very particular but so much fun, I was listening to “God help the outcasts” from the hunchback of notre dame which is the whole vibe I’m going for. Please leave a comment about what you think I really do appreciate them. Hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
Daemon felt like a fish out of water when he stepped into the Sept, a sea of candles and utter silence as the statue stood tall and stoic, its shadow could frighten a small child or command a common man to bow,
Hesitantly Daemon approached as he looked around to take in the small details, the dim lighting, and the smell of herbs burning, he was not accustomed to the routine of a man that came to pray, truly he was forced to even step foot in here, his brother the king commanded him after he was found on the side of the street naked after a 3-day bender on the streets of silk.
“Wonderful isn’t it? Just its presence brings goosebumps”
A woman’s voice startled him that came from behind, swiftly he spun on his heel to view the person that interrupted his thinking but also kind of knew what was he focusing at.
A young woman dressed in the usual gown of a Septa, as the light managed to shed some light within the room he could see her dark hues that reminded him of grass, her red plump cheeks, and pink lips, she was… beautiful, a concept that was quite foreign for someone that had hid behind the burden of a Septa.
“You are too young to be a Septa”
“You honor me, my prince”
“Why did you even choose this? Or was it forced upon you?”
“You can ask me all the questions you want it will not change the fact that you feel awkward within the walls of our sacred place”
She spoke the truth, Daemon shifted on his feet as he once again looked around to no actual aim, it was just to buy himself some time until he finds the proper way to respond.
“Honestly I am disappointed, I was told I would burn alive if I ever even walked past from here”
“The Gods guide, they forgive, they simply take you under their wing and protect their children that chose to follow their path”
“What happened to you? There must be something that forced you to have this mindset”
The Septa remained silent, she could sense the prince's urge to not only figure out what lay behind her mask but to also find a way to kill time, her guess was that he was not a common visitor, and judging by the comment he was not a follower of the faith either.
She simply walked past him and kneeled in front of the candles, she lit two of them and placed one in front of her and the other by her side, once she intertwined her fingers with one another she waited for him to follow.
“I promise nothing will happen to you if you kneel my prince”
Daemon scoffed at the Septa who called for him, howbeit he complied and with heavy footing and a little bit of grunting, he kneeled and mimicked her gestures.
“A few years ago I fell from the top of a whore house”
“What were you doing on top of a whore house”
“I come from a poor family, we lived near it and I wanted to know what was all the yelling coming from. I was bedridden for a full moon turn, I broke my hand and got an infected cut on my thigh, the fever was the worst part, yet all I could hear was my mother praying, she prayed to the mother to save me, she prayed to…. To take her instead, she offered her life for mine, so I prayed to the mother to spare us, to nourish me back to health, and in exchange, I would devote my life to the faith”
The Septa had not realized she had started to cry, the voice of her mother crying and begging for her child to be saved rung in her head to this day as clear as the sky. Daemon instinctively reached to wipe the Septa’s tears away, the love of a mother was always the strongest force, he could faintly recall his mother, such a spirited woman, he would often wish to feel her hug one more time.
“That is why I believe the Gods will listen to you, is there anything you have to say?”
“I lost my mother due to childbirth, if the Gods listened to you? Why did they ignore her?”
“We are all children of the Gods, some of us must stay and some must depart from the physical realm, you can still find her, in the gust of a wind, within the walls of the Sept, maybe in the silence of your chamber whilst you lay for the night, why don’t you try?”
“How to do I-“
“Just… listen”
Daemon stopped talking, he just waited for something, he did not know exactly what but he closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nose and out his mouth making his shoulders relax.
(Y/n) could slowly pick up his facial expression change, his tough front slowly break and then came one tear, then a second, a minute after that came the first sob, slowly but in a steady pace Daemon went from a cold warrior to a boy that cried with his head on the lap of the Septa who allowed him to be engulfed by the vulnerability he had shoved at the very back of his mind.
Daemon was inconsolable, trembling like a leaf in the winter wind, (y/n)s heart shattered for the poor prince, all she could do was stroke his hair while he fought with the waves of emotions he had turned a blind eye to for years.
“I’m sorry”
“There’s no need to apologize, emotions are what makes us human, mayhaps the saying of Targaryens are closer to gods than to men is not deliberately true”
“What is your name?”
“I am (y/n), my prince”
“(Y/n)”
He whispered more to himself. The name tasted like honey in Daemon's mouth, without really understanding why Daemon smiled at the sound of her name slipping through his lips, it rolled off his tongue so naturally like he was meant to call for her, to meet her.
“Can I see you again?”
“The Sept is my home, my prince, I will be here”
Daemon visited her every morrow after he broke his fast, once he found her lighting some candles, he found her praying, a few times she would conversate with other visitors of the Sept, (y/n) would be there for him for as long as he needed, however, it would always be on arm's length, a veil of faith and celibacy kept them apart, (y/n) could not marry nor bare children, she would forever be a maiden dedicated to the Mother.
(y/n) had once professed her wish to help women with childbirth, perhaps be a midwife for the poor, her selfless act was astonishing to Daemon, a young lady that was so soft-spoken and kind that some would say she was the Maiden herself in human form that came down to serve the Mother, Daemon witnessed how others would yearn for (y/n)s encouragement, old women and men, even children would run to her and hug her, he could imagine what it would be like if their children ran to her arms.
“May the Warrior guide you and keep you safe my prince”
“Can I write to you?”
“It is not common”
“Would you get in trouble?”
“The followers can be close to us in any way they wish”
“Then I want to write to you”
“As you wish”
(Y/n)s heart skipped a beat at the pressing question of Daemon, she had prayed many times asking why the Gods send her such temptation, the kind prince that tested her oath every day with his gentle words and soft touch, the Father was resting her judgment there was no doubt about that.
“I- I want to give you this”
(Y/n) presented a small pendant that was the star of the seven, it wasn’t of value but (y/n) had prayed over it and begged the mother to protect Daemon, to wrap him in her cloak and keep him safe.
“It would mean a great deal to me if you wore it”
“Thank you, I shall bring it back to you, alive”
(Y/n) subtly looked around before she gave in to her urge and rushed into his arms for a hug, she might never see him again, war was cruel and the Stranger visited often if this was their last encounter then she shall at least know what his hugs felt like.
Daemon hugged her tightly, he feared for his life but mostly he feared that he might never be able to call for her again, to say her name and see her bright smile on every morrow.
“If I come back, I want us to leave together”
“Daemon”
“Please (y/n), see it as a sign, if I survive this then we are meant to be together, the Mother will protect me only if you agree to marry me”
“Do not use the Gods for a vile game”
“It is not a game, I-I love you”
“Leave, please”
“(Y/n)”
“May the Gods have mercy on your soul”
She simply dismissed him after she pulled away to turn her back on him, Daemon took a step but stopped before he took another, he could not see it but (y/n) was already tearing up, she felt her heart rip to pieces as his steps echoed less and less until they became nothing, the silence lasted only a minute before her sobs took over.
In a blink of an eye (y/n) kneeled in front of the candles, the burden was a heavy one for a girl, she had never experienced such a trial, she had almost looked the Stranger in the eye still this was the most difficult of all.
“I beg you, Mother, I beg the Gods, show me a sign, I do not know what to do, I am a mere mortal, help your child, if you can hear me, please help me”
She muttered in between her cries, she felt weak, unable to continue by the fear of making the wrong choice as she stood at a crossroads, was this union a blessing or a test?
Daemon fought fiercely during the day and at night he would lay and play with the pendant, twirling it around his fingers and sometimes even resting it on top of his lips, was she praying for him? Was she waiting for him? Did she wish to see him again? Questions raced in his head before the dreams took over and brought him the gift of imagination, his precious (y/n) playing with their children, 5 children, he could almost taste her but she was always slipping through his fingers, never enough time to hug her as tightly as he could.
(Y/n) was tormented, with bags under her usually bright eyes, sunken cheeks, and pain growing on her legs as her mother fell ill, with a high fever, (y/n) stood by her side until the very end.
“Go to him, my sweetling, he waits for you”
Her mother whispered before she left her last breath, (y/n) had tired herself from crying to the point that she did not know what was she even crying about anymore, was it the worrying over Daemon? Her mother's passing? The overall confusion over what her life has come to?
“(Y/n)?”
She brushed it off as her mind playing tricks with her now, she continued to pray along, it was the only thing that had kept her somewhat sane, the Gods had been cruel to her, not only did they take away her mother but Daemon has stopped sending her ravens if he was alive and well was unknown to her.
“(Y/n)”
Could it be? (Y/n) slowly turned her head towards the direction of the voice, there he stood, Daemon, her prince, his hair was short and he was skinnier than the last time she saw him.
(Y/n) wiped away her tears but remained kneeled, has she lost her mind? Was she seeing just a vision or was he truly standing there? Her lip quivered as they both stood frozen, waiting for the other to do something.
“It’s me, my dearest”
He whispered to reassure her. Daemon sensed her pain, her questions, and how she was afraid to make a step, he knew it well, they were times he could have sworn he saw her on the battlefield or waiting for him on his bed, and others he could hear her praying.
(Y/n) In an instant rose and ran to him, she fell in his arms as she was engulfed by a plethora of emotions that drowned but one overtook all, relief.
“You are alive”
“I made a promise, I needed to bring you your pendant”
She laughed between her sobs as she wrapped her arms around him one more time, squeezing the life out of him but he did not mind, her hug was the closest thing Daemon had felt when it came to religion, she was his church.
“I missed you”
“We must go”
“What?”
“Get us out of here before I change my mind”
“What has gotten into you?”
“Do you want to question me now that I am agreeing to your plans?”
Daemon could not contain himself anymore, before (y/n) could comprehend or respond his lips had crashed into hers into a deep, passionate kiss, soon his arms wrapped around her waist to bring her as close as humanly possible, it was (y/n)s first kiss.
“Let us leave before the Hods strike us for sinning”
-
(Y/n) and Daemon chose to make their home in Pentos, a beautiful free city that (y/n) had dreamed of visiting, they had eloped the day they landed, (y/n) wore a simple gown and it was the first time Daemon saw her hair, her beautiful mane that framed her face perfectly, she was his for the rest of their life and hopefully the next, how could a woman so perfect love a sinner like him?
The raven Daemon send to king landing to announce the birth of their first child angered the faith to no end, the rogue prince had lured a Septa and turned her to lust and sin, and whispers grew about their children being cursed, that they were all deformed and that is why they did not dare to come back.
Daemon shielded his family from such vile words, (y/n) was gracious to bless him with 5 children, 4 girls, and one boy, all of them beautiful, kind, and happy, (y/n) and daemon made sure of that.
Daemon had gifted (y/n) with creating a Sept for her after she gave birth to their first daughter, Elara, she had deep grey eyes like a wolf and dirty blonde hair like the color of a golden sunset, when Daemon walked in to find (y/n) holding their daughter after laboring for a full day he cried, his wife, his love, she created life.
“Thank you”
“For what?”
“For everything”
Then came their son Aeron, who came rather quickly and without fuss, (y/n) only felt some discomfort during her evening nap and the maester had just stepped into the room when the babe was crowning, he had his mother's eyes and hair as white as snow.
Adira gave everyone a surprise, she was not alone, she was with her twin sister, Naeva, who was frail and so small in comparison to Adira who was chubby and red-cheeked, (y/n) refused to leave Naevas side, she would spend her nights in a rocking chair by her cradle.
And then came their last little girl, (y/n) would often reminisce about the day that her children burst into the room after the labor to peak at their new sibling, Aeron was the first to hold her, and the little boy was in utter awe of the new sister, he had leaned to place a peck on top of the babes head.
“Mother, I was hoping I could name her”
“What do you suggest sweetling?”
“Avyanna”
“It is a perfect name for a princess, don’t you think so my love?”
“Indeed, it’s settled then”
Avyanna was a spitting image of her mother, except for the dark lavender eyes, she had even inherited (y/n)s hair which made her stand out from her siblings, she had a few blonde streaks but you couldn’t see them if her hair was pulled up.
Daemon was proud of his family, he patted himself on the back for being able to rise to the occasion and prove himself worthy of (y/n)s love, he took great care of his lady wife, anything his family wished for they had their feet.
(y/n) worried that the children will grow spoiled, she taught them the importance of sharing and the great value of gratitude through her faith that she never forgot, often she was seen attending orphanages and anyone that knocked on their door for help.
“Alright now settle down, this ceremony is sacred and serious, you must be on your best behavior”
“We know Mother”
“My dear, you have told them about it a thousand times now”
“I’m sorry, I am just-”
“I know”
Daemon brought his wife closer by the waist to place a kiss on top of her covered hair, she was dressed in all black like everyone else but you could understand that this meant more to her than just a funeral, it was their first time back in Westeros, the Targaryens had never seen their children, her heart beat fast at the mere idea of her little ones getting insulted or ridiculed in any way.
All of them remained close to their mother and father, Daemon held Avyanna in his arms, and (y/n) frowned as she caressed her daughter's cheek, she wanted to hold her but she was still sore, the maester advised her to refrain from lifting anything.
Naturally, Daemon led (y/n) to their chamber the minute the eulogy ended, he did not care about mingling or anything that had to do with people that turned their noses up on (y/n) and their children.
“You must rest”
“I feel fine”
“And you will feel even better if you lay down”
(Y/n) knew better than to chastise her husband on this matter, Daemon was an overprotective man especially when it came to her and her health, they had already had a fright he was not willing to take any chances.
“The strangers visit is the one I fear the most amongst the Gods, he sparred me once, now twice”
“And thrice if needed, I will not let them take you”
“It is not up to us to decide”
“It is up to us to be careful, you gave our family 5 perfect children that need their mother, we are in no need of another”
“If the mother gave us 5 why did she take this one? And the one before that, mayhaps-”
“(Y/n)”
“It is not pleasant I know but I constantly feel cursed”
“You are not cursed nor our children, let us not speak on this again, please”
(Y/n) did not verbally respond, she chose the route of getting up from their bed and reaching for Daemon to hug him, Daemon trembled at the thought of losing her, seeing her in insufferable pain and grief while blood stained the sheets was horrid, he could not imagine what (y/n) went through, of course, he wanted a big family but it was not worth the price of (y/n)s life, none of it would be worth it without her.
The vulnerable scene between husband and wife was interrupted by a knock on the door, Elara was white as a ghost and her hands were shaking, (y/n) feared for the worst at the sight of their distraught daughter.
“What is it dear?”
“Aeron claimed a dragon but he got into a fight”
“Gods have mercy, show me”
(Y/n) prayed as she walked to wherever her eldest daughter led them, she spotted Aeron from a mile away, her son sat in a chair next to another young boy who was getting his wounds tended by a master.
“Oh, my love, my sweet little boy, what happened?”
“I am fine mother, I’m unharmed”
“Gods be good”
(Y/n) wrapped her arms around her son as tight as possible, Aeron was aware of his mother's fear of him and his siblings getting in harm's way, but he did not fuss over how tight she was hugging him quite the contrary after such an event he relished the familiar loving embrace of his mother.
“Yes the boy is safe but my son has lost an eye”
“I do not follow”
“Your son claimed a dragon while Aemond claimed Vhagar, your daughter and son were present when my son was attacked”
“Stole Vhagar”
“You cannot steal a dragon, little girl”
“Elara! Be respectful”
(Y/n) scolded her daughter who hunched over at her seat, (y/n) did not raise her voice often so when she did her children did not take it well.
“Queen Alicent, I trust my children allow me to ask them for the truth”
“Aemond, Elara, and I were wondering when we saw Vhagar, I pushed Elara to stay back and Aemond did not follow, he claimed Vhagar like Elara claimed Silverwing, when Aemond flew that’s when Vermithor came, I figured that if Silverwing came for Elara then Vermithor might be here for me, Elara and I flew with our dragons when we landed the only thing we saw was”
“Was what?”
“Prince Lucerys attacked Prince Aemond, he had a knife”
Elara finished her brothers' sentence, Elara was always brave and stoic, whilst Aeron was noble and level-headed.
(Y/n) hesitated, her children wouldn’t lie to her, if it happened as they say then it means her children could not have possibly interfered with the squabble nor saved Prince Aemond.
Daemon walked to his wife’s side and pancaked his arm around her shoulders for comfort, he could sense that (y/n) feared what to say, she did not want to upset nor make matters worst in front of the king and queen.
“My children are not responsible for the injury of Prince Aemond although it still is a grim affair”
“Grim affair? My son has been maimed”
“While Aeron was in the sky with his sister”
“They could have-“
“They could have what? My children are not fortune tellers nor do they have the eyes of a hawk to see what is happening on the ground”
Daemon defended his son and took a few steps towards Queen Alicent, (y/n) went back to her son to hold his hand in support of him, Elara got up from her seat to go over to the other side of her mother and hold her other hand.
Rhaenyra stood by her son's side as she watched Daemon defend his family, 10 years passed and he was a different person, now he had 5 children and a personality that Rhaenyra could not recognize, how he stood up for his son, how endearing he had been with his wife, how he completely ignored and avoided her, the Dragon had circled (y/n) and their two children, willing to do anything and go against anyone to keep them safe.
“This is a matter between you, my family had no part in this”
“They encouraged Aemond to go to Vhagar”
“They did no such thing, my children were playing and Aeron protected his sister, you can spew lies as much as you wish Alicent but I know the truth”
“Which is?”
“That my son claimed the dragon of a previous king and that is a matter for us to celebrate, you can kill each other for all I care, my wife and I will escort our children to their chambers and tomorrow my son will mount his dragon back home”
Alicent refrained from responding, even a Hightower knew that there was a line that she mustn’t cross when it came to Targaryens, Aeron had a dragon now, Vermithor flew just to find him, Daemon puffed out his chest before he also went back to join his family, with his one hand he guided his son to stand up on his feet and patted him on the shoulder.
“This is a blessing, my only son has a dragon like my eldest daughter, I will not let anyone taint this day for you”
“Thank you father”
“Queen Alicent, the Hightowers have always been a family that followed the guidance of the seven, the father is a just God, seek for his voice and find it in your heart to understand that our children are not responsible”
“Or don’t, the father will not be here to help you once you attempt to point your finger to my son”
Daemon hissed at Alicent, “how did these two even came together?” The queen thought, however it was as clear as day that she was stepping to dangerous territory, (y/n) was a pious person but even she could not save Alicent from Daemons aggressive nature, she could only offer a small way out before the inevitable happened.

Tumblr media
“it’s lo’ak. he went outside of the reef and he’s missing.” kiri‘s shaky voice mutters out.
she watches how your face falls from her words, how your breathing picks up and an evident shiver wracks your body. your hand instinctively wraps around her wrist in attempt to save yourself from your own overactive mind.
what if something bad happened to him? neteyam would never be able to forgive himself. it would be your fault that you had him distracted from keeping an eye on his brother.
“i need to go find him.” your eyes search the glowing water for your ilu, ready to summon her.
before you could even act upon your rash idea, four tsuraks soar above the village with metkayina men sitting on the saddles. their voices loudly call out lo’ak’s name as they fly over the water.
“look!” she points up at the sky, making your eyes shift from the water and to her face, “they have it under control. you cannot put yourself in danger too, neteyam would never forgive me if i let you go out there. we have to go find him and my dad.” kiri’s soft voice calms down your heroic efforts.
she gently takes your hand to lead you to the main part of the village, where some villagers are gathered around.
before you could even try to find neteyam in the crowd, kiri starts to weave and bob through the mob of people. “excuse me. coming through.” kiri repeats as you dodge past their elbows.
she finally makes it to an opening that overlooks the water, letting go of your hand to walk over to her mom. tonowari and jake are standing near the edge having a heated discussion with ao’nung standing off to the side.
your eyes skim over the people standing around, until you spot his dark blue skin that contrasts amongst the metkayina.
“neteyam!” you call out, making the boy snap his head towards your voice and his braids swing wildly from the force of his head. the stressed expression on his face softens at the sight of you.
the tall boy takes a few large strides towards you, his arms wrap around your head to pull you closer to him. “lo’ak better come back in one piece so i don’t rip that fish boys head off.” he mumbles quietly enough only for you to hear.
you can’t help but look up at him with wide eyes, making him chuckle from the look you give him. “what? this kid ruined the only time we’ve had alone since we’ve arrived here and left my brother in the middle of the no where.”
your arms tighten around his waist, shrugging in agreement. one of his hands cups the entire backside of your head to guide it against his chest so he could fully embrace you. he lets out a deep breath he didn’t realize he was holding, almost as if your presence could melt away any of his worries.
a loud horn bellows in the night sky, making both you and neteyam pick your heads up. the giant flying fish touch down in the water right in front of you, a few of them yipping as they swim forward.
“the boy has returned!” someone in the crowd yells.
“it is the sully boy! they found him!” another person shouts.
lo’ak climbs off the back of a tsurak, and signs ‘i see you’ as a thank you when he climbs onto the dock in the water.
once lo’ak notices ao’nung above him, he goes to walk towards him but jake hops down to stop him. “hey, hey.” he urges him to stop, “let’s have a look at you, okay?” jake turns his youngest son to look at his back to inspect him of any injury.
lo’ak doesn’t dare to break eye contact with the chief’s son, staring daggers at him.
“he’s fine.. he’s fine.” jake says reassuringly. the words make the tightness in your chest escape along with an exhale, you and neteyam both sigh in relief. “just a few scratches!” jake announces.
neteyam pulls away from you slightly to go walk forward, his hand sliding into yours instead.  neytiri is quick to push her way through the crowd, making neteyam stop mid step. you can tell that she’s furious.
she hops down to where jake and lo’ak are standing below on the dock. her hands grip the boys arms as she looks him over, “i pray for the strength that i will not pluck the eyeballs out of my youngest son!” she growls at him as she motions towards his face with a claw like hand.
lo’ak seems unfazed by his mothers words as he looks up at tonowari, “no.” the chief says, “my son knows better than to take him outside the reef.” his hand cups the back of ao’nungs neck to push him to the ground, forcing the boy to kneel before the sully’s, “the blame is his.”
jake urges his family back up onto land, but lo’ak stops, “no. this is not ao’nungs fault.” he shakes his head, “this was my idea.”
neteyams grip on your hand tightens, his breath shuddering. it takes everything in him to not lose his cool from lo’aks stupid choice to take the blame.
“ao’nung tried to talk me out of it. really.” he speaks to tonowari as jake ushers him to hop up. lo’ak finally gives in, hopping up on the platform where everybody else is standing. “i’m sorry.” he apologizes as he walks past the chief and ronal.
jake is quick to follow him, along with neytiri, kiri and you and neteyam. “dad you told me to make friends with these kids.” lo’ak stops in his tracks, trying to reason why he was outside of the reef, “that’s all i was trying to-.” he’s cut off by his dad.
“i don’t want to hear it.” he snaps, “you brought shame to this family.”
your heart drops from jakes words, eyes widening as you glance up at neteyam, who continues to stare forward. your eyes make their way back to lo’ak, watching how his eyes drop slightly but he doesn’t let his tough demeanor go. “can i go now?” he simply asks.
“any more trouble, i jerk a knot in your tail, you read me?” jakes voice grows angrier with his son.
“yes, sir. lima charlie.” lo’ak throws a dig at his dad, having an evident attitude. jake grunts and motions with his eyes to dismiss lo’ak, who quickly walks away from his family.
you want to follow him, to see if he’s okay after that altercation with his dad. until jake turns toward you and neteyam, neytiri following the same motion.
your heart drops to your ass, making you gulp from their stern gazes. “where were you?” neytiri questions, “yeah. what happened to ‘keep an eye on your brother’?” jake adds.
“sorry, sir.” neteyam gives his dad a nod, his ears lowering slightly from being reprimanded.
“come on.” jake motions to neytiri, “neteyam, go find lo’ak and make sure he gets home.”
neteyam nods, gripping your hand tight to pull you along with him but jake steps in front of you both, just you.” he speaks to his son.
neteyam blinks a few times from his dads orders, his head cocks back in a bit of shock, “but..” he goes to protest, and jake gives him a sharp look. “no but’s- just go. we’ll make sure she gets home.”
neteyam let’s out a little huff, reluctantly letting go of your hand. he looks down at you, giving you a little smile before sliding past his dad and after his brother. jake starts to walk forward, forcing the rest of you to follow behind.
once you reach the marui, jake shoots a indescribable glance at neytiri who’s in front of you.
kiri instantly picks up on it, letting her hand linger on your shoulder as she gives you a smile that says, ‘good luck’, before disappearing inside the pod.
jake follows his daughter, leaving you and neytiri outside. you can feel your heart hammering against your ribs, not knowing if you’re about to get lectured by her.
neytiri lets out a breath, looking at you as she motions towards the edge of the netted platform. this was bound to happen, you’ve been lectured by the sully’s when you were younger but not since you’ve been with neteyam.
once you’re far enough away from the marui, neytiri softly grabs your elbow to stop you.
she tsks out your name, making your heart practically stop mid-beat, “i am not sure what you have going on with my son, or if you have made tsaheylu but…” she clears her throat at the end, obviously just as uncomfortable as you are during this conversation.
“trust me. i mean no malicious intent with neteyam. we.. haven’t bonded that way yet, but i truly care for him.” you ramble out. you’re assuming the next thing she is going to say is that she doesn’t want you to be with him anymore.
neytiri seems taken aback from your rushed words, one of her arms reach out to rest on your upper arm. “i see how much you care for him, as he does for you.” she nods, “you are different from us, but that does not mean your heart is.“
you blink rapidly, gulping down the growing lump in your throat, “my son has good intentions with you. i want to see him happy, but i need him to focus on his family too. it is hard for all of us to be here.”
all you can do is nod, knowing that you would never be able to stop loving that boy. even if his parents disagreed with your relationship.
wait… love? you love him?
you keep your thoughts to yourself as neytiri talks, her hand pats your arm before saying goodnight and walking back into the main pod. you take a moment to look out over the water, staring down at the glowing bioluminescent reef.
you decide to sit down, letting your legs hang over the edge as your mind ponders on everything that just happened.
you love neteyam, and for some reason you haven’t realized that until now.
your eyes watch the fish that scurry through the water, until you feel footsteps coming up from behind you. a warm hand grips your shoulder from above, making you turn to look up at them.
neteyam.
his braids hang around his face perfectly as he smiles down at you, flashing his little bunny teeth you’ve grown so fond of. “nete..” you breathe out in relief, practically throwing yourself at him.
he easily lifts you up onto your feet, his arms wrapped around your waist. “woah. you okay?” he chuckles as his hand rubs over the small of your back.
you peek over his shoulder, watching lo’ak slip inside of the darkened pod to head to bed. this is your opportunity to talk to him.
you unravel yourself from around his neck, pressing your hands against his chest to pull back but he refuses, “what is wrong, my love?” his knuckles brush against your cheekbone with a concerned look on his face.
“i think…” you breathe out, your heart thumps heavy in your eardrums, “i.. i’m just tired. i want to go to bed.” you murmur, trying your hardest not to make eye contact with him. you know if you would, he would be able to see through your lies.
neteyam nods, but obviously he doesn’t fully believe you. he quietly sneaks you both back into the marui, tiptoeing around his sleeping siblings to your area in the far back corner.
he lays down with you, situating himself behind you with his chest pressed against your back. he leaves a soft kiss against your jawline once he snuggles against you which quickly sends you into a deep sleep.
sometime in the early morning, you’re awoken by neteyam’s warmth leaving your body. you groan in protest, making him shush you by pressing a kiss against your forehead.
“come on, bro. hurry up.”  lo’ak rushes him quietly.
“what are you two doing?” kiri mumbles sleepily in the dark room.
your eyes shoot open to watch neteyam and lo’ak sneak out, and kiri is sitting up on her elbows with one of her eyes peeked open.
“what is wrong with them…” she grumbles to herself as she pushes the blanket off of her body to stand up and follow.
you sigh in annoyance, knowing you will have to go after them. you frustratingly kick the blankets off of your body, grumbling to yourself as you shuffle towards the opening.
peeking outside of the entrance, you see a glimpse of kiri’s tail rounding a corner so you quickly take off after them. you scurry like a mouse, quiet but swift. you catch up to the girl, who is tailing them closely but not enough for them to notice. “i wonder what they’re doing.” she whispers to you, and you reply with a shrug.
the boys hop off the side of the netted walkway and into the sand, pushing each other around and laughing. by now, the sun has barely risen above the horizon, brightening the night sky.
three other na’vi are standing in the distance, tsireya, roxto, and ao’nung. your eyebrows furrow as they all sit down in a circle on some rocks, “come on.” you motion for kiri to follow, hopping off the side to follow their footsteps.
“i was hoping you two would be coming too!” tsireya waves with a bright smile, which you mirror. neteyam and lo’ak turn their heads to look at you both, pure confusion riddles their features.
instead of sitting beside neteyam, you make yourself comfortable between kiri and ao’nung. he can’t help but stare at you from across ao’nung’s body, wondering why you decided to sit there instead of with him.
“i told ao’nung last night to bring everyone here so i could tell you what happened out there.” lo’ak clears his throat softly before continuing.
he continues to tell a long story about a very vicious nalutsa and a heroic tulkun at three brothers rocks. he thought he died, but the tulkun saved his life and kept him safe.
specifically one that had a missing fin, which tsireya instantly recognized as the outcast named payakan- who is also coincidentally a ‘killer.’
“i’m telling you guys, he saved my life! he’s my friend.” lo’ak looks around the group for someone to back him up, but receives nothing but worried looks.
“my baby bro!” neteyam stands up and places his hands on lo’aks shoulders, “the mighty warrior who faced the killer tulkun, and lived to tell about it, huh?”
lo’ak shoves his shoulders back as he stands up, pushing his brother off with a hiss. “you guys aren’t listening.” he huffs and walks away down the beach.
“lo’ak, i’m listening.” you shout.
“lo’ak, come back!” kiri calls for him, but being the stubborn boy he is, he doesn’t listen.
instead of chasing after him, tsireya decides it’s time for all of you to visit the cove of the ancestors. essentially, their own tree of souls.
the five of you summon your ilus to the shore, tsireya and rotxo leading the way underwater to a cave. once all of you successfully pass through the waterway, tsireya pulls up to the surface.
“we are here. this is the cove of the ancestors. our most sacred place.”
high above you, stacked rocks sit high in the sky in a half-moon shape and floating rocks scatter the sky around it. your eyes take in the new environment, unable to contain the smile that breaks out onto your face.
as the rest of you travel farther in the water, the sun starts to hide behind the giant planet that pandora orbits around. “eclipse is the best time of day to be here.”
once the sun disappears and plunges the world around you into darkness. the water in front of you comes to life, a bright light emits from under the water
“this is it. this is the spirit tree.” tsireya motions with her hand to the glowing water, making you lean over your animal to look down into the ocean.
“it’s beautiful.” you glance over at tsireya, who nods in agreement.
“follow me.” she slides off the side of her ilu and into the water, diving down towards the tree. you look over at neteyam, smiling softly at the boy before following her into the water.
once your eyes open underneath, you’re welcomed by the bright-colored pink leaves of the tree dancing with the current of the water.
as you swim farther down with everyone, you notice vines cascade down the tree that connect to the sea floor, and schools of orange glowing fish swim throughout the branches.
tsireya signs with her hands to connect with the tree, making you reach around your back to grab your braid and bring it forward. the pink tendrils emerge from the end of your plait, coiling around a branch.
instant peace fills your body once you successfully bond with the plant, your eyes flutter shut as you transfer to the ancestral plane.
the ground beneath your body is warm; the smell of dirt fills your senses, a smell you wish you could bottle up and take back with you to the island. your hands reach out, gripping the blades of glass in your fist.
you sit up in your spot with your eyes open, realizing you’re back in the forest. trees surround you as the sun beats down on your head, the wind rustles the leaves of the trees. you take a deep breath of the fresh air, before standing up to examine your surroundings.
something amongst the tree line emerges, making your ears perk up. a forest na’vi. you’re not apprehensive, but more so curious on who this person is.
as he grows closer, you realize he looks quite familiar. as if you’ve seen him somewhere, maybe he is omatikaya?
“maite?” he speaks the native tongue of the na’vi. the word he spoke makes your heart lurch in your chest; daughter.
“dad?” you whisper out into the air. he nods at your question, a giant grin forming on his face.
you can’t help but run forward, almost tackling the man with a hug. the warmth of his body is comforting as he wraps his arms around you, “my daughter. you have grown so much.” one of his hands smooths down the back of your head as you sniffle.
you pull back to get a good look at him once more, seeing yourself in his face.
a tear escapes from your eye, but he quickly catches it with one of his four fingers. he tsks, shaking his head, “ma child, do not cry. i must tell you something.”
you blink rapidly in attempt to fight back your tears, “what is it?”
“something is coming. a war that needs to be ended between the terran people and us…” before he could continue, the sky above you begins to flash wildly.
you can feel the connection growing weaker as the world around you starts to chip away, “no! i’m not ready to leave yet.” you cling to him frantically as you look around.
your father grabs your face, turning you towards him to talk to you directly, “my daughter, you are a strong woman. i have seen what you have overcome. you are the key to everything.” he embraces you once more just before you’re ripped away from each other.
you let out a scream as you come back to reality, bubbles escaping your mouth. the tree in front of you is beaming wildly, making you look around at the others.
kiri’s glowing freckles flash in sync with the tree as her body stiffens and shakes involuntarily. you rip your braid away from the tree, swimming over to her along with neteyam.
you quickly disconnect kiri’s connection with the tree, making the water around you go dark. neteyam wraps his arm around her waist, swimming up back to his ilu with you following.
he breaches the surface and lays her limp body on the backside of his animal, cradling her in his lap as he gives her air with his own mouth.
“what is it? what has happened?” tsireya asks from the side.
“it was a seizure. we need to get her back to the village.” neteyam looks down at you, his big eyes full of worry.
“go! get her to the village!” you urge him.
“let’s go! let’s move!” he calls out to his ilu, making it accelerate speedily back towards home.
you swim to your ilu, taking one last glance at the darkened tree before taking off after everyone else. once you make it back to the island, you hop off your ilu and sprint through the village to the marui.
neteyam is outside pacing, stressfully running a hand through his braids. inside, kiri is laid on the floor ontop of a blanket with neytiri and tuk by her side. jake is in the corner, using a radio to talk to norm and max.
“hey!” you call out to him breathlessly, obviously strained from running all this way.
once he sees you, his tense shoulders drop a little farther away from his ears. he seems so relieved to see you. he steps forward to meet you in the middle, his arms embracing your body tightly.
“i didn’t know what to do.” he whispers helplessly, his voice strained from the growing lump in his throat. “you did everything you could, ‘teyam. she’s breathing right now because of you.”
he shakes his head, looking down at his feet between your bodies. you watch his lower lip begin to quiver as his emotions take over.
your hand cups his cheek to pull him down to you, his face nuzzles into the crook of your neck as his body trembles under your touch. you softly shush him, rubbing his back as he silently weeps into your shoulder.
once the eclipse ceases, the sun brightens the sky and brings in norm and max with their gear. you sit outside the marui in the sand, not wanting to take up space for them to help kiri. your finger absentmindedly draws shapes in the sand until the sea comes up to wash it away.
the two sully brothers make their way over to you, neteyam plops down beside you and lo’ak on the other side of him. “what are you doing?” lo’ak asks, peeking over at you with curious eyes.
“passing time.” you hum softly, giving him a soft smile before it drops off of your face and you look back down at the white sand.
“you okay?” neteyam questions, one of his arms wrap around your shoulders as his head cranes down to look at your face.
“i’m fine.” you mumble simply, making him pull back from you to shoot lo’ak a worried look.
the younger boy shrugs, not sure what to do or say. neteyam motions with his head for his brother to leave, which lo’ak complies to but not without a exaggerated sigh.
“what happened at the spirit tree?” he questions, making your shoulders fall even more. your finger continues to carve patterns into the sand, not daring to look up at him because you know you will cry.
“nothing, neteyam.” you breathe out, letting your head fall into your bent knees.
“i will keep bothering you if you don’t tell me.” he softly lets his fingers dance down your back.
“i..” you trail off, trying to calm down your emotions before you continue, “i saw my father. for the first time at the spirit tree. i was torn away from him, i couldn’t say goodbye and we were back in the forest..” your voice cracks, making your body shudder, “i miss it, i miss it so much.”
neteyam notices the emotion in your voice, making him pull your body into his side. before he could say anything, lo’ak yells from the far side of the beach. “she’s awake!”
his head turns to look at his brother, then back down to you, “i’ll be back, okay? stay here.”
you shake your head as you lift your head, wiping your tears away as you sniffle. “no, no. i’m fine. i want to see her.”
he nods and grabs your hand to bring you back home, “c’mon.”
kiri is happy to see you, but you’re quickly ushered away by neytiri to let her rest. tuk stays by the girls side the entire time, reading stories to her and getting her anything she possibly could need.
you decide to lay in one of the hammocks in the marui as your hands make themselves busy by beading a new top for yourself.
a loud conch horn blows, startling you and making you sit up, “what is that?”
commotion outside of the pod makes you slide out of the hammock to walk outside.
the metkayina leap off of their maruis and into the water, calling their bonded animals to swim out to sea. your eyes look over the busy water in attempt to find out what all the commotion is about.
you gasp in shock as a tulkun leaps out of the ocean, before falling back into the water with a giant splash.
“the tulkun have returned! everybody, our brothers and sisters have returned!” tsireya calls out as her people whoop in excitement around her.
“come on!” neteyam appears from behind you, his hand gripping yours to pull you along to the edge of the walkway. he leaps off with you right behind him, his ilu catching you both.
he takes off towards the reunion, soaring through the water above the surface until he reaches the chaos of tulkuns and villagers.
metkayina fly above your heads on their tsuraks, and fill the water with their ilus- it seems every na’vi is out here right now.
you lean over to look up at neteyam’s face, a giant grin pulled up on his lips. he lets out a little laugh before turning towards you, “this is amazing.” he mumbles in awe.
everyone begins to dive under the water to greet their brothers and sisters, making you point for him to follow. you both take deep breaths before plunging into the depths of the sea. it’s even more magnificent down here.
watching the metkayina interact with their tulkuns makes you a tiny bit jealous, wishing you could have a bond like that with such a clever animal. not that the ilu’s aren’t, but the tulkun are family members of the metkayina.
you hold onto neteyam tightly as his guides his ilu through the water, seemingly leaving the area where the tulkun are meeting. you tap his arm, pointing to go back but he shakes his head no with a little cheeky grin.
neteyam continues through the ocean, weaving through the rocks and coral, and passing through schools of fish. he finally breaches the surface near the shore, hopping off and pulling himself up onto the bouncy platform.
“what are we doing? i want to go back.” you grumble, but still take his hand when he reaches out to help you up. “just follow me.”
he continues to hold your hand, leading you back to the marui. he came back because he wanted to go home? seriously?
you stop in your tracks, stubbornly refusing to walk inside. “what are you doing?” he questions after head whips towards you, looking you up and down.
“we came back here just to go home?” you bite back, a little too sassily for his liking. the boy rolls his eyes, and turns around towards you.
his other hand grips your chin to angle your face up so he could lean down to kiss you. instead of pressing his lips against yours, he hovers. his warm breath fans over your face while his heavy-lidded eyes scan your expression. he’s such a tease.
“i decided it would be best to use the empty village to finish what we started yesterday.”
you evidently shudder from his words, a heat growing low in your belly. you guess it makes sense, being all alone and knowing nobody will be coming to bother you guys for a while.
neteyam lets out a breathy laugh, watching your brain go into overdrive as the thoughts roll through your mind. he uses both of his hands to cup under your jaw as he finally leans in to kiss you. the boy is hungry, and desperate for every single part of you.
he presses his body weight into your own, making you stumble into the outside wall of the pod. one of his knees spread your legs, slotting itself between your thighs.
his knee presses against your center, making you suck in a sharp breath. he uses this as an opportunity to deepen the kiss, wiggling his tongue past your lips.
your fingers slightly dig into his sides, in attempt to pull him into you even closer. neteyam leans back from the wall, his mouth still on yours as he leads you inside.
both pairs of your feet disregard anything on the ground, knocking everything to the side as he guides you to the very back of the marui. he huffs into the kiss, somehow continuing to kiss you as he lays you down on the floor.
your lips slightly disconnect as your head hits your pillow, giving him a moment to move along your jaw. he leaves wet kisses down your neck, his teeth slightly nipping the skin.
your hands card through his braids, nails slightly scratching his scalp which earns a melodic purr from him. the sound makes your insides do somersaults, your legs instinctively wrap around his body to pull your hips together.
another magnificent sound tumbles from his wet lips against your skin. neteyam pauses and lays his forehead against your shoulder.
“you okay?” your hand pushes his head away from you so you could get a good look at him.
his eyes dart over your face, “i’m fine, i promise. i just…” he sighs and squeezes his eyes shut as if he’s internally battling himself, “i don’t want to take advantage of you.”
your face screws up in confusion as you wait for him to continue, “mating is a complicated thing. we are meant to mate before eywa, to make tsaheylu and…” he trails off.
“and marry… for life.” you add onto his sentence and he nods.
neteyam is not the innocent boy he’s made out to be, and is definitely not traditional with the entire ‘absinence before marriage’ thing, “but you’ve had sex with other girls?” you question him, already knowing the answer to this question.
word travels fast in the omatikaya clan.
the boy slightly laughs from your question, rolling off of you so he could lay next to you instead. “i have, but they are not you.”
your heart squeezes in your chest as you smile from his words. “that makes me feel special.” you murmur out into the heated air.
“that is because you are special. i want our first time to not be rushed.” he confesses with a huff.
you roll over onto him, one of your legs crossing over his hips as your head rests on his chest. you listen to his quickened heartbeat begin to slow down, “ma neteyam, i see you.”
“i see you.” he replies and presses a kiss against your forehead.
the two of you lay there in silence wrapped in each others embrace and growing more sleepy by the second. soon, gray clouds cover the blue sky and raindrops patter against the roof of the marui.
you and neteyam are tangled together as you drift off to sleep in each others arms.
the rest of sully family returns from the celebration of the tulkun arriving, walking in on you two sleeping alongside each other.
“aww, they’re so cute!” tuk whispers as she sneaks over to you both, pulling a blanket over your bodies.
they continue on quietly inside the hut, preparing dinner and lighting a fire.
once you awaken, neteyam is no longer next to you and instead is replaced by a pillow. you turn over onto your side to see him sitting with his parents talking, making them laugh as always.
until tonowari appears in front of the entrance, making your blood run cold. their soft chatter halts as jake and neytiri get up to walk outside to speak to him.
neytiri is the first to come back in, huffing frustratingly as she busies herself by cutting up food on a board.
“mom? what’s going on?” neteyam questions quietly, almost whispering.
you take the moment to close your eyes, pretending to still be asleep so you could listen.
“the sky people- they are here looking for us. destroying villages. tearing them apart.” her chopping grows more erratic. somebody walks inside of the hut, most likely jake, that sits down next to neytiri and neteyam.
“we must hunt this demon. trap him. kill him.” she begs desperately.
“we’ve got to be smart. if we hit quartich they’re gonna know where we are and they’re gonna come here with everything they’ve got.” jake explains to neytiri.
“then what is our plan?” she huffs.
“i don’t have one right now. i need to speak more with tonowari.” jake sighs.
“dad, i can fight whenever the time comes. i will train y/n too. she will be a great warrior alongside me.” his offer makes your heart soar into the clouds.
“good idea, boy. help her with her combat skills so she can fight when the time comes.“ jake agrees.
….
neteyam has accompanied lo’ak out in the water, by the order of his parents to ‘keep an eye on him,’ but you weren’t invited.
you’re left with kiri and tuk to help prepare dinner, but every movement you make is exaggerated from your attitude.
kiri and tuk glance at each other worryingly, wondering what has gotten you in this mood.
you huff as you shove the cutting board away from you, swiftly standing on your feet to storm away from them to your designated corner. you pull out a book to read, eyes skimming over the pages that you dread reading.
“ugh!” you groan to yourself, slamming the book shut and turning over on your side to stare at the weaved wall.
kiri and tuk turn to look at you, then they glance at each other again. tuk stands up from her spot, slowly creeping over to you. her soft voice calls out your name, making your tense shoulders drop slightly.
your head angles back to look at her, “hey tuk.”
“are you okay?” she sits down, folding her legs under her body.
“i’m okay. i just have a lot on my mind.” you slightly laugh to keep your problems humorous instead of sulking.
“do you want some food? me and kiri can make you something!” she chirps happily and slightly bounces in her seat.
“no, no. i’m okay, really. i’m not hungry.” you mumble.
“then… do you want to go out to the beach and play?” she asks a little shyly.
as much as you would like to rot away in this corner, you cannot say no to her. “of course. let’s go, tuk.”
the girl squeals in excitement and grabs your hand to help you stand up. she pulls you outside and down to the beach, “let’s build a sand castle!” she plops down on the ground and starts to pile the sand.
you sit down next to her to help push the sand, patting down the wet stuff that stays into place. tuk starts to build up towers, looking a little wonky which makes her giggle.
her eyes glance up, then back down at the castle before she double-takes something behind you, “uh oh.” she looks really worried, making your head turn to see what she is looking at.
your heart drops at the sight of tonowari leading lo’ak, tsireya, ao’nung, rotxo, and neteyam to the center of the village with ronal tailing them.
“oh shit.” you mutter out as your eyes stay glued to them as they walk by on the walkway. “i wonder what happened to get them escorted by them.” you snort as you continue to help tuk build the castle.
“probably something bad… like always.” she rolls her eyes as she pats down the sand to make the top flat.
you continue to slap sand higher up and dig little holes with your fingers that are supposed to be windows. tuk finally finishes it off with a few shells to decorate it, clapping her hands with a laugh. “all done!” she stands up to walk to the water and rinse her hands off, which you do the same.
just as you both are about to go back home, neteyam rushes by following his parents who are following lo’ak.
“mom!” tuk yells out, making neytiri turn her heads toward you both.
“tuk! what are you doing?” she looks over you, then at the mound of sand behind you. “come.” she ushers you both with her hand.
“let’s go, tuktuk.” you lift the little girl onto the walkway before climbing up yourself to follow them. she quickly grabs ahold of her mothers hand before she is rushed away.
neteyam slows down to walk beside you, “so what happened now?” you ask flatly.
“lo’ak, he bonded with the outcast. payakan is not the killer he is made out to be and tsireya’s parents don’t believe him.” neteyam whispers to you.
“i could have told you that.” you almost laugh, “i wish i would have been there to see.”
“i should have brought you, i’m sorry.” he glances at you in his peripheral vision.
“it’s okay, nete. i had fun with tuk anyway.” you hum as you lean into his side. his arm instinctively wraps around your shoulders, “more fun than me?”
“oh, of course she is more fun than you.” you play around. he jokingly grabs his chest as if he was stabbed, “ouch. that hurt.”
“i’m sorry. do you want me to kiss it better?” you make fake puppy-dog eyes, blinking up at him through your eyelashes.
neteyam goes to answer but he’s cut off by thunder cracking in the sky. rain suddenly starts to downpour, making you squeal and run the rest of the way to the marui.
kiri had finished dinner for the family once you all arrived, the smell of the food makes your stomach rumble alongside the clouds. you didn’t realize how hungry you were.
mid-bite, tonowari and ronal appear at the entrance of the pods, “a deceased tulkun was spotted outside of the reef. we need to hurry.” tonowari calls for neytiri and jake.
“everybody stay here. neteyam, you’re in charge.” jake orders as he leaves with neytiri.
all of a sudden, your food doesn’t look as apetitizing as before. you swallow the last bit left in your mouth, your worried eyes glance over the rest of the sully family.
“a tulkun… dead?” kiri lets out an exhale.
“it better not be payakan. i need to go see if he’s okay.” lo’ak goes to stand but neteyam is quick on his feet.
“you can’t leave. it’s not safe.” he gently pushes his brother back, but lo’ak puts up a fight.
“i don’t care. let me through.” the younger boy tries to get around him, but neteyam steps in front of him again.
“no. it’s them. they’re here looking for us, bro. the rda. the sky people.” neteyam warns him. lo’ak stops his efforts of trying to escape, taking a step back.
“they’re here?” kiri looks around worriedly, “do they have spider with them?”
neteyam looks at kiri over his brothers shoulder, “i don’t know, but i know they just burnt down an entire village not too far from here all because they couldn’t find anything.”
your heart sinks as you listen to neteyam.
are the sky people really going to find you and the sully family? if they would burn down an entire village for not finding any information, what will they do if they find you here?

Killer reactions to a legally blind reader who had their glasses stolen from them during a trial. (Part two).
Notes: Non-binary reader. Warnings for minor, non-graphic violence and character injury.
...
Ji-woon
He saw you struggling to walk through the forest, your arms spread out and feet stuttering in caution. Concern invaded, and he quickly ran up to you. When he noticed that you didn't have your glasses on, he asked suspiciously, "Where are your glasses?"
Ji-woon watched as you gasped and tensed up as if expecting an attack, and he frowned in dejection. "Uh? Don't be afraid," He reached down to gently grab your hand, saying reassuredly, "I'll help you escape, yes?"
"You... You'll help me? Really?" You timidly asked, your body still tense, "But... Why?"
"Oh," Ji-woon giggled, grinning big and blushing, "You are my favorite. I like you."
Seeing you gape like a fish caused Ji-woon to giggle even more in fondness and amusement. "You're so cute, (y/n)," He slowly guided you over to some boxes and had you sit down on one, "Wait here. I'll be back soon, uh?"
"O-ok," You nodded, hiding your bashful face, "Thank you."
Man, you were so freakin adorable. Ji-woon grinned maliciously and took off, his blood running hot with vengeance. Vengeance that didn't take but ten minutes to achieve, especially whenever he discovered your glasses broken in David's pocket. Those no good rats.
Returning to your side, Ji-woon reached out for your hand again and smiled, "Ready?"
"Yes," You say softly, blushing as he let you use him for support, "Thank you again."
Ji-woon puffed his chest out in pride. "Anything for you, aleumdaun."
Pinhead/Elliot Spencer
He felt the calling of the lament and, realizing that it was you who was summoning him, he immediately teleported to your location. When he arrived, he spotted you shyly standing near a pallet, your exposed eyes squinted harshly as you cautiously stood your ground.
"You solved the lament configuration," Elliot tilted his head in curiosity and hidden surprise, "But to what cause?"
You hesitated, looking fretful, "You... You said that if I solved the box then I... I would get a reward? Well... I-I want my glasses back. Please? Nea stole them."
A glimmer of a smirk shown within Elliot's piercing black eyes, "You have become bold, I see. Are you to assume that 'returning your glasses' is all I have in mind for you?"
"I..." You gaped, looking horrified and regretful, like you were imagining him torturing you, "I..."
"Stay here," Elliot demanded and briefly turned away. He was able to locate Nea, hook her and retrieve your glasses. When he returned to you, you had the most defeated, hopeless expression on your face, and it tore at his soul.
"I suppose the full extent of your reward can wait until another time," He said in a much more soothing tone than what he usually used, and he handed you your glasses. "I do not enjoy witnessing you treated with disrespect."
Fiddling with your glasses for a moment, you slid them on and looked up at him with flattered yet timid eyes, "Thank you, Elliot. Maybe... Maybe next time?"
Elliot smirked and swiftly turned around to leave, "I will be waiting."
Evan
He saw you walking around calling out for Jake to give you your glasses back and, at first, he chose to ignore you. Surely soon Jake would return them to you. Well...
Apparently not.
Several times Evan had crossed paths with you only to see you struggling every single time, looking lost and helpless. It pulled at his heart and made him angry. How could anyone treat you this way?
Remembering that it was Jake you were calling out for, Evan went and found the traitor, killed him and retrieved your glasses. Then he found you respectfully working on a generator. God... He liked you too dang much.
When you noticed him approaching, you tensed up and bowed your head in miserable acceptance. "Here, darlin'," Evan said, lifting your glasses out, "Think you're missin' these."
"Huh?" You blinked at him, the sight of your exposed eyes doing things to him. Taking your glasses back, you slid them on your face, stammering in gratitude, embarrassment and fear, "Th-thank you. Really. I'm... I'm sorry."
"No need to apologize," Evan took a few steps back to help ease your anxiety, "Ain't no one got an excuse good 'nough to treat ya that way."
You whimpered, covering your cheeks with your palms. So adorable. "Thank you."
Evan smiled beneath his mask and turned away, damming Jake for his shenanigans and yet also thanking him at the same time. Let's just say, he really enjoyed this trial.
Pyramid Head/The Executioner
He doesn't know much about human anatomy but he does know that those glass things help you see. He's also good at sensing distress and emotional turmoil, and during this trial you were utterly decomposed unlike usual.
And the Executioner does not appreciate it when his favorite human is in distress, especially when the distress is caused by other guilty, shameful humans.
Leaving you be to your objectives, The Executioner lurks around hooking and searching for something he doesn't quite understand. It's difficult to navigate who has your glasses exactly, and he really does search. He tears apart clothes, he breaks fingers and he even shakes the survivors, but to no avail.
Eventually he hooks the third survivor Claudette and searches for you, discovering you hiding amongst some pillars. When you notice him approaching, you gasp and run straight first into a wall.
With all hope lost, you crouch down and begin to hopelessly cry, humiliation, sadness and frustration steaming from your body.
The Executioner walked closer, stopping before you and bending forward as much as he was capable of. He then dropped an object into your lap.
You jostled in shock, your eyes going wide when you felt what exactly the object was. Glasses. But... Not your glasses. "These... These are Claudettes?" You ask, slipping on the tiny glasses. They barely helped you to see, honestly.
But they would be good enough, and you were grateful for his generosity, "Thank you."
Proud and satisfied, the Executioner nodded, took a few steps away and gazed back at you. Come on. The hatch isn't going to find itself.
Wesker
You're his favorite survivor, so he searches for you first only to find you getting laughed at by Quintin. He had your glasses. You were struggling to chase him, putting up quite a fight until he purposely tripped you and sent you falling face first to the ground.
Oh. Oh, that boy was so done for. Wesker's eyes burned orange, and he flew up to the treacherous nobody, jamming him with uroboros. Quintin screamed and dropped your glasses. Wesker picked them up and finished chasing the coward, hooking him shortly.
By the time he returned to you, he was amused to see you standing and searching around, obviously focused and self-aware. "Tis a pity you can be taken advantage of so easily, (y/n)," Wesker said, twirling your glasses around, "I almost feel sorry for you."
He eagerly awaited a snappy, passionate reaction from you, but was ultimately met with deafening silence. You weren't even looking at him, your head bowed, hands gripping a barrel and your face twisting with hatred and shame.
It was as if you expected the worst out of everyone including him.
"What will I get if I return them to you?" Wesker asked, stepping closer.
You mumbled back, "Just kill me, Wesker. I'm done."
Out of all his time here, Wesker had never, ever seen you give up. It made him... Concerned. "How long has this been going on?" He stopped beside you and handed you your glasses back.
You were taken aback by his kindness and consideration, and you went to put your glasses back on, "A while."
"Well then," Wesker smirked, aching to touch your face, "I suppose we'll need to put a stop to this. Won't we?"
Max
He doesn't really understand what's going on at first. All he knows is that you're really, really struggling. The only reason he can think why is because you didn't have your glasses. Why though? Where were they?
Hesitant, shy and nervous, Max tries his hardest to avoid hooking you. There is one time, however, that he hears you calling out for Feng to give you your glasses back. Ah ha. So Feng took them. That monster. How could she do this?
Max then makes it his number-one priority to catch Feng and return your glasses. It doesn't take him long, but when he throws her over his shoulder, he hears a distinct crack, and panics. Oh... No...
Dropping Feng unceremoniously, Max searches her hoodie and finds your shattered glasses. Noooooooo! No, he broke your glasses. Ah, what was he supposed to do? You were gonna be so mad at him and upset, and you wouldn't be able to see, and he felt so bad. Just- ahhh!
He let you down. Max growled in distress, his chest aching. He really, really let you down. Oh, he was so sorry.
But he wasn't going to hide from you despite every nerve in his body wanting him too. Instead, he killed the rest of the survivors, deserted his chainsaw and hammer, and timidly approached you.
Whenever you noticed him, you covered your face and awaited pain, but felt none. Sensing that he was close, you gaped and whimpered, "Max?"
Wow, your eyes were really pretty. Max blushed, his chest filling with butterflies. He walked forward and gently tapped on your forearm.
"What?" You whispered softly, "I-I can't see, I-I'm sorry."
Even though it hurt him to speak, Max managed to say "hatch". You looked at him with utter gratitude, grabbing onto his offered arm and saying shyly, "Thank you, Max. I-I really appreciate it."
Max smiled and growled happily. Good grief, the 'butterflies'.

Chapter 2:
While Coriolanus is in his office, high up on the top floor of the Citadel, raging and having an internal meltdown about your relationship, you’re walking down a crowded downtown sidewalk, hand in hand with Odysseus. The two of you were heading to a cafe near the office for lunch.
“I'll cook you dinner tonight. How does that sound for a third date?” The bronze-haired man offered, his smile full of sunshine and dimples. Odysseus' smile was contagious: you couldn't help, but to smile widely back at him.
“Last time I had a man cook for me I was 18.” You honestly admitted as a fleeting memory of Coriolanus, all skin and bones, stirring a pot of cabbage popped into your mind.
“I know that it's rude to ask a woman her age, but I must know, how old are you?”
“I’m not offended, Odysseus.” You assured him before revealing your age. “I'm 24, by the way.”
Leaning in, as if he was going to tell you a big secret, he smiled- large and scandalously, and revealed, “I'm 28.” Bumping your shoulder lightly with his, Odysseus teasingly chuckled, “Guess it's time for me to bust out the wheelchair since I'm the Old Man of the Sea in this relationship and you're the youthful mermaid.”
You let out a laugh, a genuine laugh, at your boyfriend's words. You've only known him for a day, but so far he's proven to be nothing, but respectful and kind. He's unlike anyone you've ever met before.
Odysseus was very bubbly and it was refreshing. After being with someone so cold and calloused for so long, being with a warm soul was like a breath of fresh air.
“I don't know much about such things. Is it something common to District 4?”
Odysseus nodded, only to say. “The Old Man of the Sea is the water god, Triton.” instead of leaving it there, he decided to explain the legend of the sea god to you. “He's very wise and it's said that if you can manage to capture him and hold on as he changes into many forms that he can answer any questions that you have, about anything at all.”
“Had anyone ever caught him?” You curiously asked as the cafe came into view.
“Some claim to have caught him, no one really pays them any mind, now do they?” He chuckled.
Odysseus' smile brightly widened as he animatedly explained the lore of mermaids to you, “And a mermaid, according to folklore, is a mythological water spirit that's the most beautiful siren of a woman on the top half, while having a fish tail instead of legs for the bottom half.” Coming to a stop at the cafe, he held the door open for you while continuing his sea creature lecture with, “They can both wreak havoc by causing shipwrecks and can be benevolent by granting boons; some even forgo their own mermen and fall in love with human men.”
Guiding you to one of the bistro tables (since the cafe was on of those seat yourself and someone will be with you in a moment type places), he told you with a faraway look in his sea-green eyes. “My Pops says that my Ma was so beautiful that he's positive that she was a mermaid who struck a deal to gain human form.”
From the way his voice slightly quaked while mentioning his mother, you knew that she was most likely dead. How did you know? Because Coriolanus’ voice did the same thing if and when he ever mentioned his late mother (which was rare and far in-between).
“How old were you when she passed, if you don't mind me asking?” You tentatively asked, knowing that it might be a touchy subject, while taking your.seat at a windowside Odysseus brought you to.
“I don't mind you asking, honey.” The bronze haired man assured you, taking his seat across from you at the table. Grabbing the menus from the display rack on the edge table, near the window, and handing one over to you, he simply said, “I was about 9.” Opening his menu, he sadly explained, “There was a hurricane in 4 that completely flattened the beach side community her family's house was at. Even tho she was a strong swimmer, she drowned.” Staring a hole into his menu, he bitterly spat, “President Ravinstill refused to send help or aid, or to even evacuate that part of District 4 because Panem was in the early days of the war.”
“You and Poseidon were here, in the Capitol, while she was trapped in 4.” You concluded while scanning your own menu.
“Yes, that's how I ended up living a privileged life in Capitol City while my mother and her family’s beach house was swept off of its foundation; lost to the depths of Davy Jones' locker.”
“My father was an officer in 12 during the war. His commander helped him smuggle my mother, older brother, and me here, to the Capitol, during the Dark Days.”
“He was found swinging in the trees outside of 12 with General Snow, wasn't he?”
“Yea.” You nodded, only to change the subject by announcing what you thought looked appetizing on the menu.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus was barely holding it together whenever he walked into his penthouse. As he went to hang up his coat and place his leather briefcase on the side table by the coat rack, he felt his Grandma'am’s eyes on him.
Her stare was scrutinizing, making him feel as if he was a little boy again- getting scolded. He hates that feeling. The feeling of not being perfect, of failing. He strives to be the best, at everything he does, so Grandma'am staring him down with thoughts of shame unnerved him.
Grandma'am didn't have to say it, he just knew that she was disappointed in him. But why? He's successful as the Head Gamemaker, he's going to announce his run for Senate, and he's engaged to be married to a young lady from a very prestigious banking family. He's well on his way to success.
On his way to becoming the President of Panem in a few years time. Something that Grandma'am has always wanted for Coriolanus. Shouldn't she be proud of him, not staring him down with shame?
“How have I disappointed you, Grandma’am?” Coriolanus asked the old woman, keeping his voice cold and even, as he shrugged out of his favorite maroon trench coat; hanging it up on the corner rack after placing his briefcase on the nearby sphere shaped side table. Made out of mahogany, of course. Only the best for the Snow family.
Which is why you feel like you're not a fixture in the penthouse anymore. You're not good enough to be a part of the Snow family; to be with Coriolanus. There's something better out there for him, but you've come to accept it and move on.
Coriolanus hasn't moved on, but he won't allow himself to admit that he's fucking up his life by listening to Strabo Plinth when it came to the affairs of his heart. Oh, yes, that's right, the platinum blonde man turned into a cold creature that destroyed his own heart; refuses to acknowledge love. All he knows now is hate, indifference, and lust.
Truthfully, he's in denial when it comes to you and his feelings. He just chalks it up to being possessive and lustful over you, but honestly it's love. A dark, twisted take on love since he's a broken man and doesn't know how to love, but it's love none the less that he feels for you.
“Your father would be ashamed of you, Coriolanus. I know that I am; so is your cousin, Tigris.” The white haired woman, dressed in all her fineries, told her grandson. “Most of all, your mother would be heartbroken knowing that her son turned his back on the love of his life.”
Grandma'am’s words cut Coriolanus deep as he walked over to the sitting area in the main room. Her words cut so deep, it felt like a long double edged sword piercing through the spot where his black, cold, dead heart is locked up in his chest.
His jaw clenched painfully as he stormed gracefully, thanks to his long legs, over to the open sitting chair across from his Grandma’am. He felt his soul bleeding in his chest as he sat down. The old Snow family matriarch’s words burned Coriolanus worse than if he bathed in gasoline and lit himself on fire with a match.
But Coriolanus Snow’s a very proud man; he won't admit that Grandma'am's words hurt him. That they rang true; made his conscious berate him. Made him feel a pang of self loathing and guilt.
No…
Coriolanus will act like he didn't do anything wrong, even tho he did.
“I didn't turn my back on the love of my life because I don't have one.” Coriolanus denied in a flat out lie.
Lie, lie, lie!
You're the love of his life and he knows it, but he's just too goddamn afraid to admit it. So fucking scared of being hurt, used, manipulated, and weakened by love. He’d rather deny his feelings for you then face them.
Coriolanus can face anything headon, except for his feelings. The man didn't do feelings. And that was such a shame, because he truly did love you.
Too bad he was too focused on his political ambitions; couldn't see how much you loved him and vice versa.
Grandma'am blanched at Coriolanus’ words. Those words hurt her deeply. She loves you, as if you were one of her own, and knew how large of a role you played in her grandson's life. And to hear Coriolanus write the love you too share so easily, as if it was nothing, made her wonder where she went wrong with him? Tigress turned out fine, so why was Coriolanus so…so cold and dead towards the girl that he's loved his entire life?
Watching Coriolanus as he reached forward to grab a piece of candy from the large 3-tier candy dish set in the middle of the glass coffee table, Grandma'am sadly wondered, “I didn't raise you to be like this, Coriolanus. How can you be so cold when it comes to Y/N, your sweetheart?”
“She was never my sweetheart, Grandma'am.” Coriolanus retorted coldly. The frostiness in his baritone even sent a chill down his own spine, but it was too late to take it back now. The glacial sharp sentence was now in the universe, floating around; sure to manifest and take hold.
The remark and the attitude that accompanied it would surely come back to bite Coriolanus in the ass; to haunt him. There's no way on earth, in heaven, or in hell those cruel and icy words won't find their way back to you. Because they will…
“I see.” Was Grandma’am’s clipped response. Those two words held so much sadness and disappointment in them. The old woman's wrinkled face turned sour as she informed her grandson, “I just hope that she didn't ruin her life sitting around; waiting for your love. She turned down quite a few wealthy suitors, even a General’s son, as I understand from Tigress- who felt that Y/N was wasting her time on you because you've changed- turned hateful and cold.”
What? You turned down opportunity after opportunity to get out of poverty; all because of your silly notion of being in love with him? Of wanting more than what he can offer you?
You willingly choose to work for scraps, having your ideas used by your boss- to be claimed by them as theirs instead- for advertisements and marketing plots, instead of being pampered on and made a socialite by a rich man. What’s wrong with you? Were you truly foolish enough to believe that love could pay the bills; could be more than enough for you? Were you foolish enough to want the insecurity of love over the security of wealth?
Coriolanus never took you for a foolish girl, but now…well he doesn't know what to think. Why would you hold out hope for him to love you, to pick you, to give you things he's incapable of if you weren't foolish. You knew as well as he did that he has to do certain things to climb to the top, to reach his political goals, and that entering a union of love with you isn't one of those things.
“Waiting around for me to love her; to propose a marriage that would only hinder my political aspirations, makes her one of the biggest fools in Panem, Grandma'am.” Heartlessly shot out of Coriolanus’ mouth before he could think twice. He didn't even recognize his voice, but it truly was his.
“I don't know what happened to you, grandson, to make you so hateful. That girl's loved you ever since the Dark Days and you seemed to love her back, but I now see that you were just using her. Using her like that little songbird of 12 used you up years ago during the 10th Hunger Games.” Grandma’am spat at Coriolanus, causing the hardened young man to just flash her a deadly look. A look that would make most people cower in fear. But, Grandma'am Snow wasn't like most people. She did raise General Crassus Snow after all and he had some of the most hateful pale blue eyes in the Capitol.
Coriolanus' face was cold as stone, his eyes flashing with fury, as he seethed, “Don't you bring up that dead district whore to me, you old bitch. I'll take any of your other ramblings, but not talk about that songbird.”
The disrespect and loathing in her grandson’s tone worried Grandma'am. She's never seen Coriolanus in such a light, but she didn't like it.
Her grandson was nothing like his father. No, Coriolanus was worse than Crassus. Despite being a strict man that believed in totalitarian rulership, Crassus Snow was capable of love. He loved his wife dearly and unconditionally. But his son, well, it seems like Coriolanus has closed himself off to love.
And that scares Grandma'am.
“I think, since you're newly engaged, that it's time for you to find your own penthouse to live in.” The Snow matriarch told her iciscle of a grandson while watching him lean forward to grab another piece of candy from the extravagant candy dish.
Popping the piece of candy into his mouth, Coriolanus simply said, “If that's what you want, then I'll move out.” Standing up, he said, “I'll go call the Plinths' realtor, see if there's any penthouses available in one of the new Luxe buildings downtown.”
No, Coriolanus wasn't going to see if there was a penthouse available in any of the new Luxe buildings, but in your specific building. Because, by living in your building, he'll be able to give you gifts without being stopped by that troublesome doorman with high morals. He'll also be able to fix things with you, get you to see his logic and agree to come back to him. Coriolanus will be able to break you and Odysseus Odair, the Capitol’s biggest manwhore, up before you become too enthralled by him. Before he loses you to him.
Despite denying his feelings for you and calling you a foolish girl for loving him, the thought of you possibly falling in love with somebody else terrifies him. It eats away at his soul, knowing that right know you're probably thinking about the date Odysseus took you on last night.
Coriolanus is jealous that you're moving on (after a damn month!) with somebody that he views unworthy of you. And he's going to put an end to things, make you return to his side.
And the perfect way to do that is living in your building. So, hopefully, Coriolanus can purchase the penthouse in your Luxe complex.
Tumblr media
After a long day at work, you went home and got changed into something comfortable before going across the hall to Odysseus’. You felt a bit nervous knocking on his door. Yes, he did invite you over and said he'd cook dinner for a third date, but it's been a while since you've been invited to a man's apartment. In fact, the last time you went to a man's apartment was the night that you ended things with your ex.
When the door opened, revealing Odysseus in the doorway dressed in a simple tank and shorts, you felt your mouth go dry. His tan skin was glowing, bronze hair effortlessly framing his shoulders in waves. But it was the face splitting smile, brighter than the sun, that took your breath away.
How is it that he can always flash you that smile every time he's around you? Can he truly be that happy to see you? You last saw him a few hours ago for lunch, he couldn't have missed you that much- could he?
“Come on in.” Odysseus urged you, pulling you into the apartment with an excited look on dimples face. “I got shrimp and asparagus risotto on the stove.” He told you, gently closing the door as you walked into his place; taking in the decor.
The decor was nothing like how you expected a modern, upscale apartment to look like. The walls, instead of being the standard white, cream, or light grey that's standard in the building, were different shades of blue and green. Also, you noticed how a pair of hammock-like chairs made up entirely of rope and nets hung from the ceiling. Instead of a sofa, like most people had in their apartments, Odysseus had floor cushions that were shaped to resemble a couch. The coffee table was a chunk of driftwood with glass on it, while the TV was set on a table painted various shades of blue to resemble waves. And the wall decorations of various shells really set off the beachy vibe of the apartment.
“Is this how houses are decorated in District 4?” You asked, standing in the middle of the mainroom- taking everything in.
“Yea.” Odysseus nodded. “Wait until you see the kitchen, you'll love it.” He told you, only to grab your hand and drag you into the kitchen.
The kitchen, that was decorated with mounted fish all over the walls. The beautiful white cabinets had all of their doors taken off. The back walls of the cabinets were painted teal, creating a contrast with the white shelves and frame. And the once white marble countertops were painted (Yes, he painted over marble!) seafoam green. The kitchen island stools looked to be made out of a mix of driftwood and rope, which made you wonder how sturdy they were.
“Sit down, honey. The risotto’s almost done.” Your new boyfriend beamed, guiding you to sit down on one of the stools (that you were iffy about). “You're going to love this risotto; recipe’s a simple one from 4, but it's delicious.” Odysseus told yoy, going over to the stove and stirring the contents in the pan so it wouldn't burn.
“Do you eat anything other than seafood?” You asked, hoping that he did. Honestly, you didn't eat seafood religiously, so if Odysseus did then…well…guess you'll have to deal with it.
“Fish’s healthy for you, Y/N.” The heir to the largest luxury cruiseline out of District 4 told you while taking the risotto pan off of the stove and placing it onto the countertop.
Which was bad, because without a trivet to rest on the heat from the pan can ruin the counter. Does he not give a shit about ruining his counter? Hell, Coriolanus would be having a stroke if you pulled that shit- placing a hot pan on his marble counter without using a trivet.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait a minute, wait a goddamn minute! Why the fuck are you thinking about Coriolanus, your ex, when you're about to have a nice home cooked meal with Odysseus, your current boyfriend? What the hell's wrong with you?
What? Are you going to be that girl that compares apples to oranges in bed too?
Tumblr media
Odysseus’ warm hands skirt across your body as his mouth leaves feather soft kisses all over your skin, but it feels foreign to you. Honestly, you're not used to soft caresses and lightly peppered kisses. Of lips pressing against yours firmly, but faintly. You weren't used to a man swiping the tip of his tongue along your lower lip in a way that was both sensual and questioning all at the same time.
No.
You're used to hungry, sloppy butterfly kisses which turn into bruising bites all over your skin. You're used to cold, rough hands squeezing and grabbing at you. You're used to lips harshly clashing against yours in hungry desperate kisses. Kisses that seemed to be from a man starved and he shoved his tongue down your throat without warning. Desperate kisses that turned into opened mouth ones, complete with spit swallowing, tongue sucking, and bottom lip biting.
You're not used to softness. Instead, you're used to roughness. But perhaps you could get used to softness.
Or at least you tell yourself you'll get used to softness as you lay naked underneath Odysseus, splayed out on the floor cushions, as he languidly rolls his hips against yours. His movements are reminiscent of ocean waves crashing against the shore. His thrusts were slow, but powerful.
You felt like you're going to explode as Odysseus’ mellow movements slowly worked passion into you. Your pussy begged to be pounded, craved for his cock to bruise against the spongy spot inside of it. But instead of brute force, your cunt got gently caressed by Odysseus’ large cock (well, he had the length, but not the girth you're used too. Oh god, are you really comparing your boyfriend's cock to your ex’s cock? Yes, yes you are and you'll probably go to hell for it.) evertime he dragged it against your tight walls, only to push back into you again.
You bucked your hips, whining out, “Faster, Odysseus. Harder, please.”
Odysseus just smiled lazily, making his dimples protrude deeply in his cheeks. Bringing one of his hands up to stroke your cheek, he said, “I see you're not used to making love, honey. But, you'll get used to being worshiped like the goddess you are.”
His words were sweet and sent your heart fluttering a mile a minute. And the smoldering look he gave you as he snapped his hips just a little bit deeper, a little bit harder, for you and your head spinning.
And soon, before you knew it, your cunt’s clamping down around his cock and your nails (no longer crimson, but now a simple French manicure) are digging into his shoulder while you whimper, “Odysseus.” over and over as you cum.
Odysseus after feeling you cum around his cock, coating it in your stick juices, quickly pulled out of you. The feeling of emptiness crashed into you harder than any storm wave hitting a pier ever could as Odysseus knelt between your legs, quickly pumping his cock until he cum with your name on his lips. The feeling of his warm cum spurting out onto your belly made you twitch in surprise.
You weren't used to having hot cum shoot onto your body, you were used to being filled up with it. Was there a reason why your boyfriend didn't want to cum inside of you?
But before you could ask him, he was pushing himself to stand while announcing, “I'll get you a towel so you can clean up.”
“Okay.” You simply nodded, laying on the floor cushions while spent with white pearl like seed slowly sliding down your stomach.
After a few minutes, Odysseus came back with a towel. He gave it to you, before collecting his shorts and pulling them on. As you cleaned his cum off of your stomach, he gathered your clothes- which you thought was odd.
Coriolanus never gathered your clothes for you after fucking you. No, he used to pull you into his arms; pressing you to lay into his side, while carding his fingers thru your hair. Some times, after a particularly rough and hard fucking, he'd draw a bath for the two of you or he'd hold you in bed while telling you that you did so well; that he was proud of you for not using the safeword- only to remind you that next time if you need to use the safe word (red) that you can and he won't think any less of you.
But you're not with the platinum blonde man (who doesn't give a shit about you, who's engaged to the heir of Panem's biggest bank now) anymore, you're now with a bronze haired man who’s habits you'll just have to learn. Have to get used to.
Flopping down on the seat cushions, Odysseus handed you over your clothes. “I thought you might want to get dressed so you won't be could while we watch tv.”
“You want to watch tv?” You asked, finding it strange that he brought up tv instead of cuddling.
“Yea, there's supposed to be a fishing documentary on soon and I don't wanna miss it.”
A fishing documentary…Of course, he wants to watch something about District 4. Well, you can't fault him for that. He has a tie in a way to the district and just wants to learn all he can about it, since he resides in the Capitol.
Plus, you suppose that you can cuddle with him while watching the documentary together.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus walked behind the realtor (a middle-aged man that Strabo Plinth had on speed dial) as he opened the door to the penthouse suite of the Luxe apartment building that you reside in. “You're in luck, Mr. Snow, that nobody's applied for this unit; that I was able to fit you in for an after hours showing as well.”
“Yes, Mr. Grand, it seems that I'm very lucky that I'm the only one inquiring about this penthouse.” Coriolanus told the realtor, a calculating line of a smile on his face, as he took in the vast space of the main room.
It was twice as big as the Corso penthouse; surely you'd be impressed by it. This was your building, even if you did live on a lower floor (where the working-poor of the Capitol were), so Coriolanus knew that you’d like his new penthouse once he convinced you to see it. And, despite just starting the tour with the realtor, it was his place.
The platinum blonde master manipulator was going to move in as soon as possible, because it was the only way to get you back. He had to get you away from that peacock Odair before you did something stupid, like let him seduce you and get knocked up. You're not allowed to get knocked up by anyone, other than Coriolanus that is.
Yes, Coriolanus feels that he's the only one that can give you children. Nobody else better put a baby in you, unless they have a death wish.
But unknown to Coriolanus, Odysseus isn't ready for children yet (He may or may not have a few baby mamas and paternity test disputes floating around that his rich daddy Poseidon’s taking care of) which is why he practiced the pull out method with you while ‘making love’ on his floor cushions.
If only Coriolanus knew…well…he'd be having a coronary.
Not about the pullout method (no, that's something he'd be thankful for cause he's the only one allowed to cum inside of you), but about you making love to Odysseus on the floor. That fact right there would make Coriolanus made enough to kill. He's already jealous that you went to dinner with Odair, but if he ever found out that you fucked him…oh boy…it'd be like a throat punch to his ego.
It'd also be a dagger through his cold, dead, black, too small heart that secretly holds love for you.
But what Coriolanus doesn’t know won't hurt him. Besides, he's engaged to Livia Cardew and should be worried about her, not you. But, no matter what, he'll always worry about you because you're the one he wants in his life- despite driving you away by entering an arranged match for money, power, and glory.

Eddie gets out of the car and takes a breather. It's weird for them to go somewhere after daycare that isn't home or the grocery store, he can understand her confusion. He's nervous about it himself, and he could really do without more sweating. Right now is the only time you could see him for the next couple of days (a friend's birthday, a hair appointment, a work commitment you couldn't squeeze out of), so despite his bedraggled appearance and Roan's stained dress, he's here.
Eddie opens Roan's door. "Well, Y/N's busy for a couple of days, but she still wanted to see us," he says, unclicking Roan's car seat. He lifts her out and sets her on the asphalt of the parking lot. "So we have to do it right now. She squeezed us in."
"Oh…"
Eddie crouches down in front of her to smoothe the hair from her face. Careful, he brushes kinks and coils behind her ears, hands dancing down to her shoulders, her arms. He dusts her off. "Let me get your cardigan from the trunk. It's cold, huh?"
"Shivers!" she says.
"No, not shivers!" Eddie guides her away from the door to close it. Roan takes his hand without being asked, following him to the trunk. "Here, babe, let's get this on and then we'll go inside. We should have a little bit of time before Y/N comes." You're cutting out of work early.
Eddie worries you'll get a good look at him all grease-covered and clammy and turn straight back around, but this is exactly as he looked when you asked him out the first time, and despite being busy you were insistent on seeing him. Good signs. Plus, you've seen him dressed up, so maybe you could just superimpose that image of him onto his frizz.
Eddie makes sure Roan is buttoned up warm before offering his arms. "Want me to carry you? I know you've had a long day, haven't you?" Roan wraps her arms around his neck and he stands, lifting her against his chest. She calms him down whenever he's nervous, resting her cheek on his. "Okie dokie, let's go inside."
"Kiss?" Roan asks.
Eddie kisses her chubby cheek. "Kiss," he says, the wool of her cardie soft under his hand.
He rushes into the restaurant to get her out of the cold, rubbing her back in a pointless mission to keep her as warm as possible. It's a small restaurant inside of an Inn, dark wood and carpeting lit by butter yellow sconces. It's nice but not fancy, a family place you chose without any input from him. He's always pleasantly surprised by how willing you are to have Roan join you —this wouldn't work if you weren't, but some people wouldn't be as accepting of it as you are. He thinks he's pretty lucky.
Luckier still when he sees you already waiting at the little podium. You're distracted by something in your pocket, looking up at the sound of the door closing. "Hi, Munsons!" you say, big sweet smile on your face.
"What are you wearing?" Roan asks.
You give a startled laugh. "This is what I have to wear at my stupid job. Do I look silly?"
"You look beautiful," Eddie says.
He means it more than anything. He's used to seeing you in nice skirts with a little chain necklace on. And that's perfect, you always look like the sweetest thing god ever let near him, but this is a different kettle of fish completely. You look—
"So pretty!" Roan says, clapping her hands together.
You visibly fluster at the double compliments. "I have to wear this stuff to seem professional. I always feel like I'm playing dress up."
"Are you kidding?" Eddie asks. "You always look great, this is… you look stellar. I mean." He shakes his head with feigned disapproval. "They let you walk around like that?"
You bring your hands to your cheeks.
"I'm kinda embarrassed, we look like a mess compared to you," Eddie says, shifting Roan in his arms sheepishly, his shoulders hiking.
"What are you talking about? You guys look nice! And they know it's after working hours anyways, you don't have to be perfect. Just hungry. What do you want, princess? They have a buffet, does that sound nice? We can have unlimited mac and cheese."
Roan's stomach gives a gurgle right on schedule. She nods emphatically.
You nod back, the buzz of their compliments here to stay as you step up to the podium. "I have reservations for three, under L/N?" you sound infectiously pleased.
Eddie dips his head down to Roan's ear. "Thank you for being so nice, babe. I think you made Y/N really happy."
"Can I have clothes like that?" Roan asks.
Eddie chuckles, picturing Roan in a button up shirt with a stiff collar and slacks, smart black kitten heels to match. "Maybe when you're older. I don't think you'd find it comfy enough."
"It's actually not too bad," you say, as the three of you follow a hostess down a gentle gradient into the restaurant.
Eddie shakes his head behind Roan's. You catch his plea, coughing suddenly. "I mean, the heels make my toes cry and I can't do any running or dancing in my pants, but you get used to it, Ro."
Roan lifts her lips to Eddie's ear. "I like dancing," she whispers.
Eddie pats her back. "I know. Let's stick to comfy clothes for now, okay?"
"Okie dokie. Why don't you wear stuff like that to work, dad?"
"It's hard to explain."
"You don't want to look nice?"
Eddie sighs as you laugh behind your hand. "It's dirty work, bub, I don't know what to tell you."

Ascension, Return
Tumblr media
Pairing: Gale x You (Reader POV) Summary: You watch as Gale restores the Crown of Karsus and temporarily becomes a god before disappearing to return the crown to Mystra. And you can only hope, now that he is a god, that he will return. ao3 link A/N: I was thinking the other day about how in the ending for an Origin run for Gale, regardless of how he plans to deal with the crown business, he always shows up as God!Gale in front of Mystra before agreeing to hand over the crown or deciding to stay a god. And it got me thinking...wouldn't a romanced Tav who is expecting him to give up the crown see him ascend? So anyway I wrote this to get those thoughts out there. As usual pic of my Tav Dani because I keep forgetting to ask to borrow people’s better pictures
It doesn’t take long for you and Gale to make plans to retrieve the crown from the depths of the Chionthar River. The sooner you get this over with, the better, you think, and yet something about this endeavor has you on edge. You secretly wish you can just leave the crown down below the waters…but then, anyone could get it down there, with the right spells or the right technology. You can’t risk that.
You don’t want it in Mystra’s hands either, but what choice do you have? She, at least, is a goddess interested in balance, neither evil like the Dead Three, nor entirely good and thus subject to extreme corruption. There’s no telling what she’ll do with the crown, but she has offered one thing in exchange—a cure for your lover’s affliction.
He’ll be free of the dark hungering orb at last.
It’s enough to convince you. You retrieve your worn bedrolls from the Elfsong and shoulder your pack, ready for your next little adventure—a small boat ride to the other side of the river, and a few days spent with Gale as he searches the murky waters.
You join him on the banks of the Chionthar, well away from the bustle of the city as it is trying to rebuild, watching over him as he sits, eyes glazed with concentration, guiding simulacrums to walk the riverbeds and floors of the river, combing through the mud for the crown. He could have let his simulacrums search without him guiding them, but he wants to be sure, to search closely. He doesn’t want to waste his time turning away simulacrums who bring back scraps of metal, shrapnel from the Iron Throne, or bits from the carnage of the fight against the Netherbrain. So he looks through their eyes, seeing nothing for hours but hazy water, mud, and river plants.
Though you long to lie back and watch the sails of fishing vessels drift by like clouds on the breeze, reveling in a hard-won moment of peace, you don’t want to miss a moment where he might need you. You do not want him to be caught unawares by some curious animal, or worse, a lingering enemy. So you sit and watch, your stomach twisting into knots as you face what you know will be inevitable—the moment when he finally finds the crown.
It takes all of two days of searching. After hours upon hours of looking, he stiffens, his physical body reacting to something beyond your sight, and you know at last that he has found it. You both stand as his simulacrum emerges, dripping water, with the cold bronze of the crown in its hands.
The Crown of Karsus.
It’s so much smaller than you remember. When you faced it on the top of the Netherbrain it had easily been the size of a large carriage. Here, on the banks of the Chionthar, it’s no bigger than a normal crown. It looks innocent. Harmless.
But you know better.
The power it releases…you are no stranger to it. You readily recall the metallic taste on your tongue as you drew near it atop the Netherbrain and the way its very aura tried to drive you to your knees. Its power is weaker now, pulsating from the bronze metal like a faint heartbeat, but you know that it won’t stay that way.
You glance at Gale, wondering what you’ll see in his face. Dark hunger, perhaps, or something bittersweet. Reluctance, dread, or tired resignation. But his expression is surprisingly neutral. He doesn’t step forward to take the crown just yet. Instead, he studies it with his eyes before taking a deep breath through his nose and turning to look at you.
“Do you trust me?” he asks.
You blink, a little taken aback. “Of course,” you say. “Always.”
“That’s gratifying to hear. It will take me some time to restore the crown and the Netherstones to their original state, fit enough to give to Mystra. The process will be necessarily delicate, given the orb I carry. I should ask you to keep a safe distance. A city’s worth of space, perhaps, just in case, but—”
You cross your arms. “I’m not leaving your side, Gale. I’m here with you, for good or ill.”
He smiles then, as much relieved as he is amused and resigned. “I know. I expected as much. But I thought it best to offer or warn you regardless.” He takes a deep breath. “Very well, then. We stay together. I just hope you’ll be patient with me.”
You reach out and take his hand, threading your fingers between his. “I will be. I’m here for you. Take all the time you need, my love.”
He gives you a grateful look, squeezing your hand affectionately before leaning in to brush a sweet, gentle kiss against your lips. You let him pull away, slipping out of reach, and watch with bated breath as he steps forward to accept the crown, the mark on his chest glowing brighter and brighter as he nears and finally takes the crown in his hands.
You don’t know what you expect. A light show, perhaps. A wave of dark, Netherese magic, or a black hole effect. You steel yourself to the fear that he will simply evaporate or fall to his knees in pain.
But nothing spectacular happens, aside from his mark glowing brightly. To your eyes, the crown acts as little more than a normal crown. To him…
You see his chest expand with a deep breath, the orb flaring brighter, watch him blow the air slowly through his lips, his face tense. But without the tadpole in your heads, you can’t guess at what he’s thinking or feeling. He closes his eyes, simply breathing, concentrating. Fighting, perhaps. Wrestling with some unseen force. The glow on his chest dims slowly until it is only a faint purple tint on his skin. Only then does he finally tighten his hold on the crown and turn back to you.
You get the sense that he has just won a silent, unseen battle within himself. It occurs to you too late that putting the crown and the orb in close proximity might actually hurt him. But it seems that the danger has passed...for now. If he’s in pain, he isn’t showing it.
“Come,” he says. “Let us make sure we’re a safe distance from the city. Just in case.”
His words don't inspire confidence, but you say nothing. You merely follow him back to your camp further up hillside. You know he has work to do.
———
You give him time. That’s all he asked for. Time to concentrate on the magic. Time to manipulate threads of the Weave. The Mystran Weave and the Karsite Weave. Sometimes you think you understand what he’s doing, but more often than not, you don’t. The magic he is performing is beyond your comprehension, guided by notes in the Annals of Karsus which lays open in front of him. You suspect some of it comes innately to him, an understanding born from carrying Netherese magic for so long. The rest must come from Karsus himself, written down as instructions or incantations. You give up trying to understand and simply make yourself useful. Or you try to, anyway.
All you can really do is linger nearby, keeping an eye out for anything that might interrupt his work. You barely interrupt him yourself, save to place some food and water near him with a soft reminder that he needs to eat to keep his energy up. He’s not a god yet, you tease, but the words taste sour on your tongue.
Yet. But soon.
You don’t feel ready for it. You know it’ll only be temporary. You hope so, anyway. But you’re still not ready.
The day passes by without you noticing. Gale sits with the crown, working, weaving, an illuminated aura around him filled with heavy magic. You leave him to his work as the sun moves slowly overhead toward the horizon, painting the sky in tones of orange, red, and purple. You lay down to watch the swirls of violet and indigo magic that gather around him as night falls, until in your exhaustion, you close your eyes for a moment to rest.
You don’t know when you drifted off to sleep, but you’re awoken in the early hours of the morning by his hand on your shoulder. You stir, blinking groggily up at him.
“It’s time,” he says softly. He helps you sit up, hands lingering on your arms, your hands. The crown isn’t with him, but sits on top of his pack several feet away. “I’ve done all I can. The stones and the crown are together again. Functionally the crown is complete, but…there is one last step I need to take.”
He kneels in front of you, dark eyes searching your face in the dim firelight. No, you realize. Memorizing. You feel a sudden knot in your throat and though you are seated safely on the ground, it feels as though a yawning void is opening up around you, threatening to swallow you whole should you tip too far to one side.
This feels like a goodbye.
“Once I put on the crown, the magic of the orb will finally combine with that of the crown. And I will…change,” he explains quietly, while you try to calm the surge of fear that grips your heart. “The magic of the crown and orb will become one and give me the power at last to meet with Mystra as an equal.”
An equal. He doesn’t say as a god. But you both know the truth.
You can scarcely breathe. You want to trust him. You want so desperately to believe in him. And he is looking at you so lovingly, but the very air seems tinged with sorrow. Nothing is certain. Nothing save his love for you, and even then, the tiniest doubt worms its way into your head and your heart.
Once he is a god…will he even remember to come back to you?
“And then?” you ask, your voice no more than a whisper.
“And then…I will hand the crown over to Mystra. And hope she keeps her word.”
You release a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. “I trust you, my love.” You use the words, saying them out loud, to dispel your doubts and fears. You do trust him. With your life, with your heart, with your all.
If only you could trust Mystra. Can she be trusted to cure him? Can she be trusted to let him return? And if he does return, can she be trusted to let him return unchanged? Chosen or not, will he still be Gale Dekarios, the man you love? You don’t know. But you hope so.
He smiles at you and brushes the backs of his fingers against your cheek, his fingertips trailing along the line of your jaw. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
He leans in for a kiss and you, selfishly, wrap your arms around him and hold him tightly to you as your lips move against his, wanting to never let go. You rise to your knees, following him as he tries to pull away, kissing him deeply, tangling your fingers in his hair, until at last you are both breathless and you have to hide your face in his shoulder. You cling to him, reluctant to let him go just yet.
“Just come back to me,” you whisper. “Whatever happens.”
His arms tighten around you and you feel the bob of his throat as he swallows with difficulty. He strokes your hair and your back, pressing little kisses to your shoulder, your neck, your head. You can feel it in every touch and breath he takes. He doesn’t want to let go yet either.
“I will, my love,” he whispers back. “I swear it.”
It’s enough for now. It has to be. You could delay this day for a thousand days and still never be ready to let him go. But you have to. If he wants to be whole again, free of the orb, perhaps even free of Mystra…he has to do this.
You reluctantly loosen your hold on him and sit back on your heels, meeting his dark-eyed gaze in the early hours of the morning. He takes your hands and lifts them to his lips, brushing kisses against your knuckles, turning your hands over to kiss the center of your palms. Each touch of his lips to your skin is a reverent confession of love and longing and it only makes your heart ache more.
Please don’t let this be goodbye.
“Wait for me,” he says.
You cradle his cheek in your hand, gazing earnestly at him, soaking in every detail of his handsome face, committing it all to memory. “I will, my love. I swear it.”
He smiles at you then, full of love and happiness. He steals one last kiss from your lips before finally pulling away and standing, taking several steps back.
You stand too, preparing yourself for what is about to happen, even though you scarcely have any idea. You expect some of what you expected before, with light shows and waves of magic at best, disintegration and death at the worst, but now it feels even more real. Even more likely. You don’t know what will happen, so you brace yourself for the worst, heart pounding in your throat, gut churning with dread, and hope, desperately hope, for the best, even though you don’t know what that will look like.
You hold your breath as he moves several paces away from you and bends to pick up the crown. This image, too, you commit to memory. The way he looks illuminated by the firelight, the lights of the city glimmering behind and below him, the stars glittering above him. The sight of him with the crown in his hands, contemplating it with an expression of deep gravity. The crown looks small and harmless, despite the sharp curls and the soft glow of the purple, orange, and pink Netherstones that are now set once more in the bronze. But he looks serious, regal even, with it cradled in his hands. Like a king mulling over the weight of his position and the choices that lay ahead. He is beautiful. Heart-achingly beautiful. You wish this moment could stretch on forever, if only because it means not losing him to the crown. To godhood.
He turns to give you one last lingering look, your eyes meeting over the distance between you, before he slowly raises the crown to his head and settles it over his brown and gray locks.
The effect is instantaneous. A blast of magic blows outward from him, kicking up wind and dust and flashing bright enough to rival the sun. You cover your eyes, shielding your face, the light blinding you. Suddenly the air feels electric, tasting of metal and ozone, as though you’re about to be struck by lightning at any second. Wind swirls around you, picking up speed, a cyclone of power and magic with you caught in the edges. You struggle to stay on your feet, your body resisting the pull into the vortex. What little you can see is naught but a haze of magic, purple, blue, and inky black, rushing around you and mixing with the wind. Threads of blue and silver lightning dance around you, passing close enough to make your hair stand on end, shocking you when you take an unsteady step backward. The vortex of wind, lightning, and magic threatens to suck the very air from your lungs until, with crack like thunder, everything around you stops.
The air grows still. It is as though you suspended in time. Held fast by magic. Your ears are ringing with the sudden silence.
You cautiously lower your hand. You have to blink a few times for your eyes to adjust, but once they do, the sight of Gale causes a flurry of emotions within you.
He stands before you as something…more. A god in all but name. He’s taller, you swear he must be, or else his very presence makes him seem bigger. His skin has turned a shade of hard silver, his hair ashen gray. The mark of the orb stands out in stark black on his chest and when he turns his head to examine his hands, his body, you see splintered blue lightning crackling at his temples and down the sides of his face. His brown eyes now glow blue-white with magic, any trace of his former warmth consumed by the light of the power within him. He’s striking, awe-inspiring…
And you can’t help but fear him, just a little.
On instinct you have the compulsion to kneel, but you don’t. You force yourself to stay on your feet and look at him, really look at him, and try to find the man you love behind this new godly veneer. He has to be in there somewhere. He has to be.
“Amazing,” he murmurs, and his voice is layered two or three times over with a strange echo, one that gives you unpleasant shivers. Even his voice carries tiny waves of power. You already miss the warm tones of his mortal voice with its Waterdhavian accent.
He flexes his hands, raising them before his face, his expression one of wonder and awe. With but a gesture, he summons threads of the Weave together in glyphs and effects you can barely make sense of, though you feel the thrum of magic deep in your chest and know, instinctively, that he is capable of snapping your mind with a thought or destroying you with a word. He smiles, and the effect is strange. He looks like himself but he doesn’t. Something about it seems wrong to you. Uncanny. Familiar and unfamiliar.
The pit of dread in your stomach grows.
But then he catches sight of you, waiting, watching breathlessly, nervously, hoping that he’ll remember his promise to you. His smile fades and for the briefest moment you catch a glimpse of the man you love. Even his blue-white eyes, shining eerily from his familiar face, can’t hide the love he has for you.
He lowers his hands to his sides. “It is done. The crown is fully restored once more.”
You nod. You haven’t the faintest clue what to say next. You’re still trying to make sense of the man-god before you.
He smiles again, and something about it is both patronizing, as though he pities you for not understanding, and sincere, an echo of his mortal kindness and patience. He presses a hand to his chest. “Well, I’d best be off then.”
“Wait—” You reach out as if to stop him and he pauses. Your hand hovers uncertainly in the air before you lower it to your side. "One last kiss, before you go. Please."
His smile softens. "I can deny you nothing, my love," he murmurs. He crosses the distance between you with a strange grace he didn't have before. Before he was elegant, but at times a little awkward. None of the awkwardness remains in him now.
You look up as he stops in front of you, his fingers curling beneath your chin the way he does when he wants to lift your face or guide your lips to his. You stare into his glowing eyes a moment before letting your eyes flutter closed. His lips touch yours...and it's different.
There's a magnetism there now that wasn't there before. You seem drawn in as if by gravity. He tastes of metal and magic, his skin cold but not unyielding. Your lips tingle with each kiss and the moment you seek to deepen the kiss—you gasp as a blue electric shock drives your mouths apart, your teeth practically rattling, your lips suddenly hot, almost burned. You press a hand to your mouth, looking up at him in shock, but he's just as surprised as you are. He seems unharmed, despite the tiny sparks of white-blue lightning still skittering over his lips.
"Ah...what an interesting side effect," he says, touching his hand to his mouth. The lightning calms. "Are you all right?"
You nod, rubbing your lips lightly as the numbness from the shock begins to subside and the tingling begins to fade. It wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't unpleasant either. Still, you're wary of trying it again.
He watches you, looking torn, before a new resolve settles his features. "Then I suppose that is my signal to go. The sooner I depart, the sooner I can return." He takes your hand carefully, moving it away from your face, and presses a cautious kiss to the back of your hand. His lips impart another, smaller shock to your skin, but this time you're ready for it. Your fingertips go a little numb, but you manage not to wince.
"Wait for me, my love," he says, finally letting go of your hand. "I won’t be long."
You step back, giving him room to do whatever he needs to do, and watch as he begins to glow, brighter than your eyes can stand. You keep your gaze on his until the very last second, when the light grows too bright to stare at. You blink—and then he’s gone, disappearing in a shower of starlight that fades too quickly.
You are left alone in the cool night, with naught but a dying fire for company.
———
You don’t sleep. You barely bring yourself to tend to the dying embers of your campfire and stoke it back into warm flames. After that, all you can do is sit.
And wait.
And wonder.
And pray.
“Come back to me, my love,” you whisper into the cool night air.  "Please."
You half-wonder if he can hear you. If, on some level, you’re praying to him, the newest of the gods. You don’t know if that thought comforts you or worsens your dread. How does he think of you now, now that his mind is that of a god, capable of seeing beyond the constraints of a mortal’s limited view? If he hears your prayers, does he think less of you, or love you more? Will he remember his promise, or will the power he now holds tempt him to break it? You want to have faith in him—you do have faith in him—but doubt creeps in despite your best efforts.
Come back to me.
You recall what it was like to wait for him at Mystra’s shrine at the Stormshore Tabernacle. How he had explained that time runs differently in the Outer Planes. How he would only be gone for a moment. Each second that had ticked by during that time felt like a year.
Now, sitting on the hillside, every second that passes feels like an eternity.
The fire crackles. The lights of the city begin to dim. One by one the stars fade out, hiding from view as the black of night begins to lighten into the blue hues of pre-dawn. And still, he isn’t back.
Wait for me, he said. And you will. You’ll wait as long as you have to.
But what if…?
No. You can’t bring yourself to put your fears into words anymore. Doing so will only make them seem more real. More feasible. There could be a thousand explanations for why he isn’t back quickly. You just have to have faith in him.
You get up and begin to pace. You start breaking little sticks and twigs into tiny pieces to feed to the fire, piece by tiny piece, just for something to do with your hands. You pluck blades of grass one by one or count the stars you can see. And you wait.
And wait.
And wait.
Your thoughts are your own worst enemy and you wish you had called an ally to come and sit with you. Even Scratch with his favorite ball would have been enough to quiet your heart and mind. But instead, you sit alone, the crackle of a fire the only sound to break the silence.
Your eyelids are heavy now and your body longs to drag you down into slumber, but you resist. You want to be there when he comes back. If he comes back. When he comes back.
You get up to pace again, rubbing warmth into your stiff fingers, amusing yourself with memories of him. His smile. His sly jests and silly puns. His hands on your body and his body against yours, yours against his. The smell of him, as much as you can remember. The way he looked during battles, magic crackling and swirling around him. The way he looked in your bed, fast asleep. Gale Dekarios in all his mortal glory, the man you fell in love with. The man you wish was at your side once more.
Gods, but you miss him. You press your hands to your chest, feeling your heart beat beneath your palms. What is taking so long?
The first hints of pink and orange appear on the horizon as you turn to pace away from the fire again, your steps wearing a noticeable path through the grass. At this rate, you fear the sun will arrive before your love does.
You contemplate how you’re supposed to face the whole of a new day alone when a flash of light illuminates the darkness behind you. You whirl, heart racing, to see a shower of starlight once more—and out of it steps Gale.
Mortal. Human. Alive.
“Gale!”
You fly into his arms, which he is already holding out wide for you, nearly toppling you both into the ground with the force of your embrace. You both stagger, but you don’t let go, and his arms around you are as fierce in their hold on you as yours are around him. He practically lifts you off your feet. You can’t put into words how much it means to you that he’s solid your arms—warm, breathing, alive in your arms.
“You’re back,” you gasp, the tears in your eyes and clogging your throat making it difficult to speak. You don’t want to sob and make it seem like you doubted him, but the emotions welling up inside you are hard to suppress. “You came back.”
“Of course, my love,” he says soothingly, not yet relinquishing his hold of you. “You are everything to me. I could do nothing else.”
You untangle yourself from him to wipe the tears from your face and look at him, looking for any changes wrought by his visit to the Outer Planes or from his brief time at godhood. He looks like himself again, his lightly tanned skin flush with warmth and love, his dark brown eyes as rich and deep as ever. You comb your fingers through his soft hair, once more brown and shot through with hints of gray, rather than all over ashen as it was a while ago. Your fingers linger on his cheek, noticing for the first time that the dark vein-like threads that trailed from his eye to his chest are no longer visible.
The mark of the orb is gone.
In its place are a series of faint scars in the same threads and shapes as the old mark, appearing just below his jaw and flowing down to form a circle over his chest. The tattoo-like color has faded away entirely and there is no dark bruise at the center of the circular marking. Any trace of Netherese magic is gone, leaving behind little more than scars faint enough to be missed by any who are not actively searching for them.
You trace the circular scar lightly with the tips of your fingers. “Does this mean…?”
“It does,” he says, pressing his hand over yours so that both of your hands are pressed flat to his chest. You feel his heart beating, his pulse perhaps a little elevated, but every beat strong and vibrant. “Mystra has cured me of the orb. Completely.”
You want to hate her, and perhaps you still do, and always will on some level. But in that moment you’re grateful and relieved too. You wrap your arms around him and squeeze him tight, overwhelmed with happiness and relief and joy. Your love is cured at last. The threat of losing him to Netherese magic is at last put to rest. He is whole again. Restored.
And he is yours. Not hers.
As dawn colors the sky overhead and spills pink-golden light over the both of you, you kiss him, reveling in the taste of him, in the warmth and weight of him, in his hands on you. Not a single spark of lightning threatens to drive you apart, so you deepen your kisses as much as you please. You simultaneously want to push him down into the grass and make love to him there and kiss him for an eternity you know you both don’t have and simply gaze at him in awe and wonder that even while he had godhood in grasp and a crown on his head, he gave it all up for you.
He gave up godhood for you.
You never realized you could love him more than you already did. But you do. Your every heartbeat sings love for him.
You lose track of time kissing him. It could be moments or hours. You don’t know nor do you care. But at last, when you finally pull away from him, it takes you a second to remember where you are, standing out on the hillside across the river from the city. The sun is rising over the horizon now, painting the world in gold and shifting the hue of the sky to a beautiful, cloudless blue. A new day is beginning.
A whole future awaits. And it is yours to shape with your love at your side.
“What’s next, my love?” you ask. “Now that we have everything we both want.”
“Next? For us?” He chuckles and takes your hand, bringing it up to press a tiny kiss on your empty ring finger. “If you still want me, I believe we have a wedding to plan.”
“I will always want you, Gale Dekarios. Now and forever.”
“Is that a yes to planning the wedding? Because I’ll have you know that Waterdhavian weddings are quite the large-scale affair.”
You laugh, his humor clearing the air like the sunlight warming away the fog of a morning and the dew on the grass. “Yes. Come on, let’s find some food to eat and get started. I can’t wait to begin a new life together with you.”
“My love, that new life starts now,” he says, bringing you in for another kiss. You smile against his lips and allow yourself to be corrected. He is right, of course.
Your new life with him begins now.

Lucky Break Chapter 4
Yandere Straw Hats x Fem!Reader
5.8k words
Beginning / Previous / Next
The longest chapter yet, but at least this arc is finally wrapped up!
Tumblr media
Just as you thought, you could hear them before you could see them.
“Sounds like they’ve got this covered. I don’t know what you’ve got planned, but I need to go get something that belongs to me. Bye!” Nami slapped you on the shoulder and then diverted from the path you were following.
“Wait, I don’t have anything planned! What am I supposed to do about any of this?!” You called out after her, but she paid you no mind, the woman was on a mission. The light jog you were doing trickled down into a standstill.
What were you supposed to do?
There isn’t exactly a guide for this, and even if there was, you can’t remember having read it.
There was yelling and the sound of weapons clashing no more than a block away from you. Wait- That’s it! Weapons! You need a weapon! You can’t just charge into battle and help your new companions empty handed.
But where would you find one? Well, this town is something of a war zone, maybe there’s a weapon lying around? You would settle for even just a kitchen knife at this point. Literally anything to give you some semblance of protection.
Hoping that Luffy and Zoro will be okay until you can help, you scurry down an alleyway. “Come on, come on, give me something,” you mutter under your breath. Your eyes dart around wildly, scanning the surrounding area. There are some stray bricks and broken planks of wood from the buildings being destroyed. That could work potentially, but you decide to look around a little longer.
A structure catches your eye ahead of you. Scaffolding next to a house that hadn’t been finished  yet. A relieved grin spreads across your face. Construction tools! You could use a saw or a hammer or something like that!
There were some crates and tool boxes lying on the ground, all open. The boxes have what appear to be blueprints and building materials. The toolboxes are damn near empty. Some nails and screws litter the bottom of it, plus a couple of tools that won’t help you like a tape measure.
“Shit!” You kicked the nearest toolbox in anger. What were you supposed to do? Bare knuckle box some armed super-powered pirates? Feeling crushed and frustrated, you drop down into a squat and put your head between your hands, pulling on your hair.
This was so stupid and unfair. You can’t even remember your own name, and now the only people willing to help you are having to fight on their own while injured and you’re helpless to do anything. Why are you even here? For what purpose? What happened to get you to this point?
A rush of air, followed by a clanging noise right in front of you startled you. The shock made you fall onto your ass, scared that you were under attack. A quick once over of the alley revealed that you were still alone. What was that?
Then, a piece of paper flits to the ground just ahead of you. It lands on a coiled piece of metal that you don’t remember being there before. Is that what made the noise? Hesitantly, you reach out to grab the paper. There’s something written on it.
“Lucky”
What an interesting event
Losing your memories was not my intent
To aid in your journey
Please take this urumi
“A”
Next to the letter “A”, was an ink stamp. One you recognized. You fished out the necklace from under your shirt, and sure enough, the stamp matched it. A jolly roger with a wand clenched between its teeth.
Where did you get this necklace from initially, and how did “A” know about your new nickname? How did they know where you were? You look up at the rooftops, but see nothing and no one. You hadn’t heard anyone approach either. It’s like these things just appeared out of thin air.
Much like you did according to Luffy.
A loud explosion rang out and shook the ground. Oh right! You’re supposed to be in a battle! You clamber onto your feet and pick up the so-called urumi by what you believe to be a handle while stuffing the note into your satchel. If you’re being completely honest with yourself, you have no idea what an urumi is supposed to be. You assume it’s a weapon, but why would a weapon be so… limp?
The “blade”, if you can call it that, unraveled and drooped to the ground. It was like some bizarre love child of a whip and a sword. How was something like this supposed to help you? Is it even sharp? Gingerly, you stroke the edges of the blade.
“Ow! Okay, yeah, that’s sharp,” just lightly touching in was enough to draw a couple drops of blood. You bring the finger to your mouth, feeling a little dumb now for managing to cut yourself within seconds of getting your hands on this thing. You have no idea how to use any weapon, much less one so unique.
Experimentally, you hold it out and flick the blade away from you. It cuts through the air and cleanly slices through a leg of the scaffolding like a hot knife through butter. The structure shifts slightly, but remains standing.
You can’t help but eye the weapon warily, this thing seems extremely dangerous. Great for dealing with enemies, bad for you if you aren’t careful and don’t know what you’re doing. Which you don’t.
It would be good to go and help your companions now that you’re armed but you want to get a better feel for this thing before charging into battle. Swaying it back and forth is helping to get a better feel for the weight of it, but the method in which you could safely wield it is still beyond you.
“There she is! The liar that tricked and made a fool of us!”
You were so focused that you hadn’t even heard the small band of enemies approaching. Their clothes were torched and skin burned, and they looked furious. With swords raised, they ran right at you, bloodlust in their eyes.
A shriek emitted from your throat, and your arm flailed as you panicked. The urumi’s blade struck the scaffolding again, effortlessly going through several legs before wedging itself into the brick wall. The structure pitched forward and groaned. Your attackers looked up just in time to see the whole thing come down on them. All of them were pinned under the weight of it plus the supplies that had been piled on. Some of the people were knocked out by the falling material, while one was left awake.
He was trapped, but could move his head just enough to scowl at you. “I bet you think you’re really clever! Well you won’t get away with this, Captain Buggy never loses! It’s only a matter of time before he takes your head for this trickery!” Venom dripped from every word, his loathing so tangible that you think you could cut it.
“Not really, I’ve just,” you yanked on the urumi, trying to dislodge it, “got a lot of dumb luck it seems.” And some magical note and weapon giver, but that’s hardly something to bring up in casual conversation. Damn, that thing was really in there. You readjust your grip and pull again. There’s a creak, and then it breaks free. It came loose so suddenly that it made you stumble as the blade flung around you, narrowly missing that one guy’s head.
The man screamed, pulling his head back into the rubble like a turtle retreating into its shell, “Are you trying to kill me?!”
“Weren’t you trying to kill me?!” The double standards up in here were insane. They could gang up on you, but you almost accidentally hit him and now you’re the bad guy? Ridiculous. He fell silent and didn’t answer, “Yeah, that’s what I thought. Now if you’ll excuse me, I must get going.”
Realistically, you don’t think it’s a good idea to be slinging this thing around, especially near Luffy or Zoro, but it was comforting to at least have something now. You examine the urumi closely, contemplating the best way to carry it. There’s a loop on the handle, and you get an idea.
Carefully, you wind it around your waist and feed it into the loop. Sure enough, it fits together snugly, and now it looks like you have a strange belt on. Alright, you’re feeling a little bit better now, hell you even stopped a few attackers (albeit accidentally).
Now it’s time to actually join the fight.
Well… Maybe you’ll assess the situation first. You just needed to figure out how to do so without being caught unprepared. Getting onto a rooftop could work. The house in front of you had a pretty low roof, climbing onto it shouldn’t be too hard.
You kick a crate close and hop on. It takes some effort, sure, but you’re able to pull yourself up. The shingles dig into you through the clothes, but it’s hardly the worst thing you’ve been through today. Finally, you can see what’s going on. It looks like there are only four people involved in this fight. There’s Luffy and Zoro, of course. Buggy is also there, seemingly unharmed from the cannon fire earlier. You suppose that isn’t too surprising considering his weird powers. Then there’s also some guy on a unicycle because, sure, why not?
Zoro and the unicyclist are fighting each other. Zoro is fighting hard, but it’s clear even from your perch that he’s struggling to fight with his injury. Luffy is too preoccupied with Buggy to be able to help him, and you’re positive that you would just hurt him more if you were to charge in with your unwieldy weapon of not-choice.
What else was there to do? You’re scanning the area for ideas, seeing lots of rubble and injured pirates strewn about. One of which being Richie, who was currently licking his wounds.
Hang on, you might know what to do now.
A hand digs around in your pants pocket and pulls out the laser pointer you put in there earlier. You don’t know what the range on this bad boy is, but hopefully it’s going to be strong enough for what you’ve got planned.
Pointing it in the direction of the white lion, you click it on. Lucky for you, it reaches, and a red dot is just ahead of Richie. He doesn’t seem to have noticed it, so you wiggle it around. His head snaps up, and you rejoice on the inside.
He reaches a paw out to it, but you move it away. At first, he’s startled, but then he’s up on his feet and in pursuit. You keep moving it away from him, zipping it around to keep him interested. If you could get him a little closer, you should be able to help Zoro. You doubt that unicycle boy is going to be able to fight well if there’s a lion on top of him.
You risk a glance over to them, only to notice something else. Buggy is using his powers for a sneak attack! Shit! Change of plans, you need to throw him off instead!
Hastily, you move the dot onto his back and pray that Richie goes for it. The lion sees it and pauses, but then he crouches and creeps closer. Yes! Just a little bit more! Come on, Richie! His tail flicks wildly, and he then pounces.
Buggy hits the ground with an indignant shriek. He’s kicking and screaming, “Mohji! Get your damn lion under control!”
You did it! You helped! Taking another look at Zoro, you see him land a finishing blow to the unicyclist. This is going much better than you would have thought! With that guy out of the way, everyone can focus on taking down Buggy.
Luffy was first to take this opportunity. Buggy had barely gotten back onto his feet after being pounced on by Richie, only to get punched by the rubber captain. The blow sent him tumbling head over heels away from him. Luffy wasn’t about to let up and continued the assault, but Buggy was able to get onto his feet and scramble out of the way of the next blow.
They engaged in a back and forth, each using their unique powers to try and get one over on the other. You tried to use your laser pointer again, but Mohji had Richie’s full attention while he was scolding him for attacking the captain. Well there goes that idea. At least you got it to work once.
You army crawl backwards so you can climb down from the roof, but stop when you notice something red flying right at you.
Oh shit, that’s Luffy!
There isn’t even enough time to brace for impact before the human wrecking ball crashes into the building and brings everything down on top of him, you included. You yelp and fall directly on top of him, disoriented but otherwise fine.
Luffy, entirely unbothered by the whole affair, helps you get up off of him, “Oh hey, Lucky! I was wondering when you were going to get here!” He stood and pulled you with him while readjusting his hat.
“Sorry, I just needed to pick up something first,” your hand drifted down to your new weapon, still getting used to even having one. The presence of one feels so foreign that you can’t imagine you ever carried one in the past.
He waved off your apology, “Don’t worry, it’s basically over already! I’ll finish this here and now!” Luffy bounced out of the crumbled building and got ready to do just that.
“Excuse you! Don’t underestimate me! And why are you talking to my crewmate?!”
What? No. How could this guy still think you’re still on the same team? That’s not possible. He saw you run to Luffy’s aid with the key you stole from him. Maybe that cannonball did hit him after all and knocked his common sense right out.
“Huh? Lucky is your crewmate?” Luffy’s head tilted to the side, genuine confusion on his face.
Several of Buggy’s pirates piped up, “She obviously tricked you, Captain!”
“No one can trick me! Be nice to our newest member!” Buggy whirled around and actually started scolding them. Is he stupid? What is happening?
“I’m not in your crew! I lied to you so I could try and save him,” you clarified while pointing at Luffy, amazed that this even needed to be said. Luffy immediately accepted this explanation, nodding and winding up to take a swing at Buggy.
“Lucky, please! I know we got off on the wrong foot but-” Buggy’s pleas were interrupted by Luffy resuming the fight.
Carefully, you work on stepping out of the collapsed building, still a little baffled by that exchange. Whatever, no use in overthinking it. There are more important things at hand.
The sound of something heavy being dragged across the ground caught your attention, it was Nami toting a couple of massive bags behind her. She met your gaze and motioned you over, “Oh, good timing. Help me move these!”
What? No please? Whatever, this is another thing not worth worrying about in the moment. You catch up with her quickly and take one of the bags. The second you do, you stumble. My god this thing is heavy! You do your best to pull it along, “What did you put in here? It weighs a ton!”
“It’s all of that clown’s treasure!” Nami answers happily, eyes sparkling.
“Why do you need all of this? What would you even do with it?” You’re huffing from the exertion of hauling your bag.
“That’s my business, thank you very much,” she said dismissively. Well then, you guess that’s the end of that conversation.
“Hey! I see you! How dare you steal from me!” Buggy screeched. A hand holding several throwing knives was flying right at the both of you. Nami screamed, but refused to let go of “her” treasure. Your hand hovered over the urumi, but you hesitated. You really don’t think you possess the skill to slice his hand out of the air.
Fortunately, you don’t have to try, because Luffy’s own hand rockets towards Buggy’s and snatches it out of the air before he can make contact. Your shoulder slump in relief, good thing he’s so on top of this!
Luffy’s victory doesn't last long, another hand comes up from behind and steals his straw hat. You would think that he would just be happy that he wasn’t stabbed, but no. He looks enraged. You haven’t known him long, but the anger on his face feels wrong.
“Give that back! That’s my treasure!” His voice was so authoritative that you didn’t even question how something as simple as a hat could be considered treasure. Whatever reason he has, it must be a good one if he’s that mad about it.
Buggy begins on some tirade about the previous owner of the hat. Some dude named Shanks? Weird name. Well, to be fair, a lot of the people you’ve met have had strange names.
You don’t get to listen in on this long, Nami taps you on the shoulder and indicates for you to follow her. You barely take a step before she tacks on, “Bring the treasure!”
After the oh so precious treasure is dragged into the nearest alley, she starts rifling through some boxes. Since she doesn’t appear to be planning on explaining herself, you pipe up, “So… Are we looking for something in particular?”
Nami doesn’t look up from her search, “We need something to stop that guy from coming after us or else I’ll never be able to leave with my treasure.” The explanation was simple and to the point. You pitch in and start looking, too. A net would probably work, but what were the odds of some nets just so happening to be here?
“This’ll work!” Nami springs up and tosses a bundle your way. You catch it, and it’s a coiled up length of rope. You nod, this is a nice alternative to your net idea. She strolls to the entrance of the alley and pokes her head out, “Next time this circus freak splits apart, you and me will tie up the pieces. Got it?”
“Got it,” you conceded. Sounds doable, especially if Luffy is keeping him busy. Sure enough, Buggy splits into a bunch of parts in hopes of confusing his opponent, but you’re not about to let him succeed.
You and Nami spring into action, grabbing airborne limbs and wrapping the ropes around them as tightly as you can. They’re wriggling wildly, and it is admittedly disturbing to be holding disembodied arms and legs, but you don’t give up. Unfortunately, both hands and feet evade you as well as Nami. You can only hope that the two of you were able to apprehend enough parts to make a difference.
Buggy attempts to put himself back together again, and the writhing piles of limbs try to fly back to him, but Nami acts swiftly and throws both into a box and seals it shut. The box rattles, but the body parts are unable to escape. The both of you smile triumphantly.
“What happened?! Where’s the rest of me?!”
You look over to him, and immediately snort out a laugh. Which then escalates into hysteric laughing. Nami looks at you questioningly, before seeing it too and joining in with her own laughter.
Buggy the clown, the fearsome pirate that’s been talking mad shit since you met, was now nothing but a head with hands and feet. Absolutely nothing else.
Even Luffy was laughing, a pleasant sight after his previous expression. Buggy was still trying to act tough despite the situation, but Luffy was having none of that. He took a couple of steps back, then ran at the incomplete clown and kicked him. He didn’t just go sailing down the street, no, he went clear into the sky and vanished.
“Team Rocket blasting off again,” you mumbled. Then your face scrunched up. Where did that come from?
“Did you say something, Lucky?” Nami asked.
“N-No, that was nothing. I’m just glad that’s over with.”
“You and me both, I hate having to deal with pirates,” she agreed.
The sound of flip flops slapping against the ground was your only warning before being pulled into a group hug. You and Nami were squished against each other and unable to move when Luffy’s arms coiled around you both. He cheered and hopped up and down enthusiastically, “We did it, good thinking guys! We already make such a great crew!”
“I am not part of your crew,” Nami wheezed.
Luffy stopped, loosening his grip a little but not enough for either of you to escape, “Huh? But you said you’d be my navigator.”
“All that I agreed to was a temporary alliance, that’s it,” she clarified while trying desperately to get out of his clutches.
“Are you still gonna sail with us out of here?”
“Sure?”
“Okay, that’s good!” Luffy was content with the answer, however unpromising it may be.
“Where’s Zoro? I haven’t seen him in a while,” you were craning your neck around to try and spot him. Now that you thought about it, you haven’t seen him since his fight with the unicyclist. Was he okay? Did he succumb to his wounds after the fight?
Mercifully, Luffy let go and pointed to where he was, “He’s over there, he said he needed to sleep some more after fighting.”
“What, right in the street?” You asked, thinking for sure that you’re misunderstanding. Obnoxious snores cut through the now silent air, and you realize that you understood perfectly. There he is. Out cold in the middle of the street like it’s the comfiest mattress he’s ever experienced. You know what? You’re not even surprised now that you’re looking at him. This checks out for him.
“Hey, guys, I think we should leave,” Nami threw out, handing the treasure bag you had been hauling to Luffy.
“Why?”
“There’s a mob and they look mad.”
A mob?! Sure enough, rounding the corner of the almost leveled street you were on was a massive angry mob of people. They’ve got torches and pitchforks and everything. They aren’t dressed like the pirates, you think these are the missing townspeople! That’s fine then, you guys just defeated the clown that had been terrorizing them. By all accounts, they should be happy with you. Right?
“Mayor Boodle! What happened to you?!” One of them cried out and ran to him. Oh wow, you hadn’t even noticed him being there. The mayor was currently sprawled out on the street. Unlike Zoro, he did not appear to be sleeping peacefully. If the knot on his head was anything to go off of, it looks like someone knocked him the hell out.
Damage control, you need to do some damage control! And quick!
“Oh him? I punched him,” Luffy interjected, looking rather proud of himself.
“You what?!” You and the townsfolk yelled all at once. Good lord, does Luffy just enjoy concussing people?! Should you be more suspicious about what happened to you?
“Hey! That girl stole my clothes! And paired it with a hideous coat!” An absolutely furious woman in the crowd pointed at you. Oh come on! How many people are going to call you out for wearing their clothes today?!
Luffy laughed, amused and unbothered, “Let’s go!” He reached for and yanked Zoro to his side and motioned for you to support his other side, and the second you picked him up you were running.
“Don’t let them escape!”
The mob surged after you all and were hot on your heels. You’re not sure that you’ll be able to lose them at this rate.
Luffy took a hard right, leading all four of you down an alley. In the middle of it was a dog. Wait, not just any dog, that’s Chouchou! The dog he helped. You leapt over him, and the second the crowd approached, he switched from quiet guarding to aggressive barking.
Despite their numbers, this did make the people hesitate, buying you enough time to get ahead. Luffy called out a ‘thank you’ to the dog over his shoulder, much to the bewilderment of the crowd.
The docks were just ahead, you were almost home free!
Nami leapt into her own boat, not wasting a second, and began to set sail. Luffy all but threw you and Zoro into yours. Both of you landed with a thud and Zoro groaned, opening his eyes groggily. He looks around lazily, “Where are we?”
“Back on our boat, we got chased out by an angry mob,” you explained, gently shifting him off of you.
“Why?”
“Because Luffy attacked the mayor,” you shot the assailant in question a dry look, not that he was paying attention.
“He did that to save him, why are they mad about it?” Zoro yawned and tried to make himself more comfortable. You didn’t even know how to respond to that. How do you save someone by punching them?
“Hey, you ruffians!”
Everyone looked to shore and saw the mayor standing there. Well he sure made a quick recovery since you last saw him two minutes ago! You waited anxiously to hear what would be said next. Would he curse you all? He probably doesn’t even know how the final battle went.
“Thank you!”
He’s… thanking you guys?
Luffy laughed boisterously and waved, “You’re welcome, old man!”
“Wait! Luffy, where is the bag you were carrying?” Nami interrupted the moment, looking around frantically. “Did you forget it?!”
“No, I left it behind for them. They need it more than I do!” Luffy smiled innocently and pointed to where it was left on the docks. The locals were already investigating the bag to see what it was.
Luffy, a pirate, abandoned treasure because he thought the people who chased him out of town needed it more? What kind of a pirate would do something like that? What kind of a person would do something like that? The answer was obvious, you suppose.
A good one.
You looked over at him again, only to see Nami actively trying to drown him.
“Nami, no!”
It took some time to ease the tensions between Nami and Luffy after the whole treasure incident. Time, and Zoro keeping them separated. Fortunately, Nami did eventually relent and agreed through clenched teeth that maybe the townsfolk did need the money.
Luffy had no problems to reconcile on his side, he had somehow already forgiven the attempted murder by the time Zoro pulled him above water.
Nami had set course for some nearby islands with the goal of acquiring a better ship as per Luffy’s request, and after that it didn’t take long for night to come. Nami offered to stay awake to make sure you didn’t go somewhere you weren’t supposed to, which was nice of her.
Getting some sleep sounded nice. At least, it sounded nice in theory. The small boat that you, Luffy, and Zoro were all crammed into didn’t offer much room for stretching out or having personal space. That, and Luffy had chosen to sleep by sprawling across you and Zoro in lieu of a bed. He wasn’t particularly heavy, but he wouldn’t stop moving.
You doubt you had slept for more than a couple of hours before being awoken by Luffy biting your arm, murmuring about meat in his sleep. You awoke with a start and roughly shoved him off of you on instinct. He barely even reacted and simply latched onto Zoro in your absence. Better him than you.
Sleep was unlikely to come to you again tonight. You carefully scoot yourself away from the two, with plans of stargazing until morning. The action didn’t rouse either of them, but it got someone else’s attention.
“Who’s awake?” Nami called out.
“I am, Luffy bit me,” you answered back.
She snickered, humored by your suffering. “Come over here and keep me company,” she yawned, “I’m getting tired.”
Chatting with Nami doesn’t sound like a bad way to pass the time, so you agree and shakily get to your feet. The two boats are tied together to keep them from drifting apart, so the distance isn’t far, but the instability of being at sea made it feel much more challenging than it should be.
Rather than help you by keeping the boat steady or even just offering a hand, Nami merely watched you struggle and didn’t even attempt to hide how funny she found this. Luckily, you were able to get over onto her boat without going overboard.
“You’ve got some great sea legs under you, huh?” Her voice was dripping with sarcasm.
You stumbled over to where she was seated and plopped down next to her, “I hope you know that I’m staying over here now, I’m not doing that again.”
That got a chuckle out of her, “That’s fine, I told you to come keep me company anyways.” The conversation lulled and you glanced over at her. She was focused on mending Luffy’s hat, carefully stitching the holes that had been put in it during his fight with Buggy. You hadn’t even known it had gotten damaged until you saw him fiddling with it after the little disagreement with Nami. It was surprising to see her offer to repair it considering how mad she had been only minutes prior, but Luffy agreed to let her anyway.
“So, I’ve gotta ask: How did you end up with those two?” Nami broke the silence, “You don’t really seem like the type to be a pirate.”
“That’s… It’s a funny story, I guess? A short one, too,” you started. “According to Luffy and Zoro, I fell out of the sky, almost drowned, and when Luffy was pulling me over to their boat I hit my head,” you pointed to the bandages on your head for emphasis. Nami had stopped working on the hat and was instead gawking at you.
“I woke up a little while later, and couldn’t remember a damn thing. Not how I got there, what happened, or even who I was. Luffy got the idea into his head to try and help me remember everything, so now I’m traveling with them for the time being,” you finished the explanation. The whole situation was insane, but it felt good to talk about it a little bit.
“What? When did this happen, how long have you even been with them?”
“Since yesterday. I had only woken up a couple of hours before we got to that island back there,” saying that made you realize how much had happened in such a short period of time. It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet.
Nami was visibly horrified by your story. She spared a glance to the other boat, then lowered her voice and spoke to you in a hushed but urgent tone, “How do you know they’re telling the truth?! For all you know, they took you hostage and are hoping to ransom you!”
This was a good point, you had considered the possibility of foul play already, but you couldn’t fully commit to the idea of it. They didn’t seem like bad people to you. Unhinged, yes, but not evil by any means. You mulled over your next words for a minute, “I’ve thought about that, but I think they’re being honest. I mean really, I don’t think Luffy can even lie.” You laughed a little upon remembering the chaos he caused by telling the townspeople about what happened with Mayor Boodle, “Besides, if they were so concerned with getting money from a ransom, why would Luffy have left behind a giant bag of gold? That seems pretty counterintuitive to me.”
Nami still looked unsure, but not as freaked out as she had been. She shot another look at the other boat, a highly suspicious one, but ultimately sighed and went back to working on the hat. “I don’t like that story at all, but I’ll let it go for now,” she muttered.
You fell into another bout of silence. There wasn’t exactly a whole lot to do out here, so you settled for watching her put the finishing touches on the hat. After the last stitch, she pulled the string taut and tied the knot. She cut it and held the straw hat up to her lantern to admire her handiwork. It looked great, she had done an excellent job repairing it.
“I’m guessing Lucky isn’t your real name then?” Once again, she had been the one to speak first.
“It’s not. Since I couldn’t remember it, Luffy came up with the nickname. He decided that I was “lucky” because he rescued me, so that’s how he chose the name.”
Nami scoffed, “I don’t know that I would call you “lucky” for that, but whatever.” She put the hat aside, and glanced at you briefly before choosing to look up at the stars instead. Her fingers drum against the wood of the ship anxiously for a moment, “Um… If you need to get away from them just let me know. I can drop you off at another island. Those idiots can’t navigate so they definitely won’t be able to find you.”
“Thank you, but that’s okay. I think I’ll stick with them for a while yet,” you answered honestly. They were some strange people, but you couldn’t deny that you found yourself liking them already.
“Suit yourself,” she said. Her disdain for the situation was palpable, but she seemed willing to drop it for now.
The only sounds now were the waves splashing against the boats and the wood creaking with each hit. It felt so quiet, unusually so, as if you weren’t used to it. The place you were before all this must have been very noisy if this makes you feel uneasy.
But, this was a good opportunity to think over what happened today. Well, yesterday. Falling out of the sky was weird enough, having basically nothing from before this happened was weirder, but the weirdest thing of all was the note and weapon that seemingly manifested out of nowhere.
What was that? Who left it, and how did they know about your amnesia? If they knew you, why wouldn’t they come and collect you? What is there to gain from throwing a weapon at you and leaving you be?
You have so many questions and zero answers, but there is one question that stands out against all the others.
Who is “A”?

THE FIRST TIME spencer tried weed went exactly how you'd expect it to. he was seventeen, halfway through completing his first doctorate in mathematics. the dingy leather couch felt rough against the skin on his hands. he anxiously looked about the room. he felt awkward, and out of place, listening to the music that was playing from a speaker god knows where. for about a month before, spencer had been overwhelmed with a sense that he was missing something in his life. he had decided, after careful calculation, that he was missing a sense of rebellion, that most people his age seemed to have.
spencer was handed the lit joint, he had never smoked before, but it couldn't be that hard. the sweet-ish scent of pot filled the room, his fingers brought it towards his lips as his eyes stayed focused on the joint. he inhaled in, feeling the harsh smoke immediately hit his throat. his face contorted funnily as he spluttered and coughed out, sending a cloud of smoke flying out his mouth. it took him a moment to recover, taking a few deep breaths in between. after collecting himself, he had inhaled another toke, still slightly perplexed at how harsh the smoke is on his throat, but pleased with how being rebellious felt so far.
his shoulders slumped as he leaned back into the sofa, enjoying the high taking over. from that moment on, he was in love. his brain seemed to finally slow, it was a refreshing break. he felt present in the moment for the first time in his life. spencer spent most evening of his weekends in college; stoned. of course, being in the BAU means he doesn't get to enjoy it nearly as much as he used to, but sometimes on an odd week off he rarely gets, he reminds himself of his college days - by getting high.
this was one of these weeks. spencer was slumped against the sofa, a nature documentary about clown-fish buzzing in the background. the key in the door turned with a familiar click, letting him know you're home. you stand in the doorway, a small frown playing on your lips when you realise spencer isn't at the door to greet you like usual. you walk into the living-room with a pout, wondering if he hadn't heard you?. not noticing spencer's current state, you plop yourself down on the sofa beside spencer; sighing with sweet relief as you slid your shoes off.
you notice the silence after a minute, turning your attention towards spencer. you immediately know. with a small chuckle, your hand reaches towards his face, fingertips skimming his jaw as you take him in with your eyes; wishing for his eidetic memory in that moment, so you wouldn't forget it. his hair was slightly out of place, perfectly accompanying the sleepy look across his glossy bloodshot eyes, it was a delicious sight.
your hands find their way to the back of his hair, fingers raking through the curls. he leans into your touch, closing his eyes in content with a low hum. your touch felt addicting to him. clingy was an understatement. he scooted himself closer to you.
"missed you." a light mumble left his lips as he peered towards you , head resting on your shoulder as you sat behind him. spencer's need to just be near you was overwhelming. he sits up, slightly hazed from his high - only difference being the stupid grin on his face. he sat back against the sofa, hands sliding up your thighs as he guides you onto his lap. his head hangs low in the crook of your neck, arms snaking up your torso - simply holding you as close as he possibly can.
spencer inhaled your perfume in with a happy sigh, nuzzling his head into your neck closer. your chest vibrated against him as you laughed ever-so sweetly, hands sliding back into place in his hair. he was in total heaven. your skin felt on fire as his fingers slid past the seam of your shirt, his hands expertly kneading up and down your torso, as spencer held you. he debated telling you a super fun clown-fish fact. he finally pulled his head up. he went to speak, mouth opening; but no words came out.
a light whine left his lips as he watched you laugh, head falling back into the crook of your neck. he struggled to keep up his huff the more you playfully teased him about his IQ now being significantly lower. after a minute, you cooed softly - a single small laugh escaping, pulling him in for a hug.
fortunately, no words were needed as you both settled down for the evening, eager hands grabbing a fluffy white blanket and chucking it over the both of your laps. spencer's inevitable munchies had resulted in a bowl of popcorn sat between you, legs intertwined. his arm draped over your shoulders like it was the most natural thing in the world. every so often his hand would reach into the bowl and grab an outrageously large handful of popcorn; before his best attempt at fitting it all in his mouth. your laugh filled the cosy room, unable to stop staring at the trainwreck currently happening in front of your eyes. you fit in his arm like a puzzle piece, the scent of his cologne mixed with weed emanating off his shirt.
you pay more attention to the nature documentary playing. spencer; now a lot more awake, began telling you the clownfish facts he suddenly remembered again. "clownfish have an average life-span of six to ten years in the wild, they are also all born male.".
