Boost hair growth naturally
THE BIOCHEMICAL POWER OF TEAS AND NUTRIENT-RICH FOODS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Herbal teas and their role in hair growth
🌸Green Tea
Active Components
the powerhouse in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a potent antioxidant
Biochemical Mechanism
EGCG helps in blocking the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Elevated DHT levels are linked to hair loss, particularly androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness). By reducing DHT production, green tea helps in preventing hair follicle shrinkage and hair thinning. Additionally, the polyphenols in green tea enhance blood circulation to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen to thrive.
Usage
Drink 2-3 cups of green tea daily to reap its hair-boosting benefits. It can also be used as a rinse post-shampooing to stimulate the scalp directly.
🌸Nettle Tea
Active Components
Nettle is rich in iron, silica, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, D, and K.
Biochemical Mechanism
Nettle tea works as a natural DHT blocker, similar to green tea. Its high iron content supports hemoglobin production, enhancing oxygen delivery to the scalp and hair follicles. This is crucial because a well-oxygenated scalp provides an optimal environment for hair growth. The silica and sulfur in nettle also strengthen hair strands, improving hair’s structural integrity and reducing breakage.
Usage
Regular consumption of nettle tea (1-2 cups daily) can provide these essential nutrients. Additionally, a cooled nettle infusion can be used as a hair rinse to further strengthen hair shafts.
🌸Rosemary Tea
Active Components
Rosemary contains ursolic acid and caffeic acid.
Biochemical Mechanism
Ursolic acid found in rosemary improves scalp circulation, similar to EGCG in green tea. This ensures that hair follicles are well-nourished, promoting robust hair growth. Rosemary also has anti-inflammatory properties, which help in maintaining a healthy scalp environment by reducing potential scalp conditions like dandruff, which can hinder hair growth.
Usage
Drinking 1-2 cups of rosemary tea daily or using it as a hair rinse can provide these benefits. Infusing rosemary oil into your tea can further amplify its effects due to the added antioxidants.
Nutrient-dense foods for hair growth
🌸Biotin-rich foods
Key Foods
Eggs, almonds, sweet potatoes, spinach, and seeds.
Biochemical Mechanism
Biotin (Vitamin B7) is crucial for the production of keratin, the structural protein that makes up your hair. It acts as a coenzyme in fatty acid synthesis, which is essential for the growth and repair of cells, including hair cells. A deficiency in biotin can lead to hair thinning and brittleness.
Incorporation
Incorporate biotin-rich foods into your diet regularly. For example, adding a boiled egg to your breakfast or including sweet potato as a side dish can help maintain adequate biotin levels.
🌸Iron-rich foods
Key Foods
Lentils, red meat, spinach, and fortified cereals.
Biochemical Mechanism
Iron is essential for producing hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to tissues, including the scalp. Oxygenated blood nourishes hair follicles, facilitating the growth of strong, healthy hair. Iron deficiency is one of the most common causes of hair loss, particularly in women.
Incorporation
Combine iron-rich foods with vitamin C-rich foods like oranges or bell peppers to enhance absorption. For example, a spinach salad with orange slices can optimize iron intake and support hair growth.
🌸Omega-3 fatty acids
Key Foods
Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel), flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts.
Biochemical Mechanism
Omega-3 fatty acids are integral to maintaining the lipid barrier of the scalp, which helps retain moisture and protect hair from drying out and breaking. They also reduce inflammation, which can sometimes hinder hair growth by causing scalp conditions like psoriasis or dandruff. Omega-3s contribute to the overall health of cell membranes in the scalp, making them more resilient.
Incorporation
Aim to consume fatty fish at least twice a week or add flaxseeds to your smoothies or cereals. Walnuts can also be a great snack option to keep your omega-3 levels adequate.
🌸Zinc-rich foods
Key Foods
Oysters, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, and cashews.
Biochemical Mechanism
Zinc plays a key role in DNA and RNA production, which is essential for the division of hair follicle cells. It also helps regulate the production of androgens, a hormone linked to hair loss when imbalanced. Moreover, zinc helps in repairing hair tissue and maintaining oil glands around hair follicles, which are crucial for healthy hair growth.
Incorporation
Include zinc-rich foods in your diet, like a handful of pumpkin seeds as a snack or adding chickpeas to salads and stews.
🌸Vitamin E-rich foods
Key Foods
Sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach, and avocados.
Biochemical Mechanism
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps repair damaged hair follicles, which can be a barrier to hair growth. It also improves blood circulation to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles are nourished. Vitamin E helps balance oil production in the scalp, preventing dryness or excess oil, both of which can impede hair growth.
Incorporation
Sprinkle sunflower seeds on your yogurt or salads, or incorporate avocados into your meals for a healthy dose of vitamin E.

More headcanons I've been thinking about lately:
- Chifuyu had a hamster when he was 8. A week after he brought him home, the animal died. His mother bought another one and replaced the previous without Chifuyu noticing.
- Shinichiro suffered hair loss when he had to explain maths to Mikey.
- Benkei and Senju are gym buddies! (I guess this is semi canon(?) They share the routines that they're going to follow during the week.
- Pah Chin never learned how to swim when he was a kid. Draken and Mitsuya were the ones who taught him how to.
- Inupi and Koko have the kind of friendship (or "friendship") where they can communicate with eye movements.
- Ran likes to talk to everyone at the saloon. And by everyone I mean old women who like to criticize everything. Ran just nods and starts talking/complaining about Rindou as if he was his 5 y/o son.
- Rindou comes off as the scariest person at the gym, but he is the one who points out to Kakucho if someone's doing an exercise wrong so the latter can go and tell that person they can hurt themselves.
- Baji took Sanzu to eat ramen once and told him to try the one he asked for (the spiciest one). Sanzu started to have (even more) trust issues after that.
- Talking about Baji, the only treatment he does on his hair, is washing it with a 3 in 1 shampoo.
- Waka used to smoke with Shinichiro. After he died, he quit smoking because cigarettes brought him a lot of memories.
- Every year, when Naoto's birthday comes around, Hina buys him a different Sherlock Holmes' novel.
(More headcanons here!)

hair holds memories - natalie scatorccio
Tumblr media
summary – bleaching natalie’s hair became routine for (y/n), but things became a bit more complicated the day natalie disappeared. (approx. 1.7k words)
a/n – trigger warning for mentions of weight loss + puking!! i wrote this cos i was feeling a lil down and wanted to vent a little. hope y’all enjoy <3
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
your (e/c) orbs glossed over the pages of the novel you were reading while you sipped a cup of tea. you were hunched over your crowded desk, notes scattered around as you picked out comparisons between the novel and wuthering heights. you were given as comparative essay as an assignment for english class, and you had chosen to compare the theme of the role of women within society.
your eyelids began to feel heavy, and you swore that you would fall asleep before you could finish the chapter. peering over towards your alarm, your eyes widened when you noticed that it was nearing 1am. sighing, you knew you’d have trouble waking up for school tomorrow if you stayed up much later, so you flicked your bookmark between the worn pages of the book and shut it, sliding it into your backpack.
you stood up with a stretch, grabbing your hairbrush to tidy yourself up before bed. suddenly, you heard a rhythmic clinking against your window. confused, you processed the sound for a moment before peeking an eye out between your curtains. you deflated from your slight shock when you noticed it was only natalie. pulling the curtains open and pushing the window, you called out to her in a whisper-yell.
“it’s 1am nat, what are you doing? and what’s with that hat??”
natalie, in response, grimaced, pulling her beanie tighter over her head. she looked at you with discomfort before whispering back, “i had an accident and i need your help, can i come in?”
you exhaled heavily but smiled, “one sec.”
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
natalie sat on your toilet as you paced back and forth.
“how the hell did you do that?!”
she looked ashamed of herself, her hair practically ginger. “i don’t know, (y/n)! i was trying to go blonde! stop laughing!”
a towel was thrown at you and you damn-near fell over, gripping the sink to steady yourself from your laughter. “okay, okay, hold on,” you chuckled, crouching down to rummage through the drawer under your sink, “I think my mom still has some spare bleach and purple shampoo from the last time she did her hair.”
“i swear to fuck, (y/n), if my hair falls out, i’ll cut all of yours off in your sleep,” your once-brunette-now-ginger friend threatened to ignorant ears.
“yeah, yeah,” you dismissed.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
natalie’s hair had come out perfectly when you did it that time, and since then, you were primarily responsible for bleaching her hair. it became routine, every month, she would come by and sit on your toilet while you would touch up her roots. you both enjoyed it and talked about life whenever it came to that. the last time you did it was the weekend before nationals.
“thanks again,” natalie smiled at you coyly, checking herself out in the mirror. you hugged her from behind, resting your chin on her shoulder. she looked beautiful, the white lighting of your bathroom mirror illuminating each and every strand.
you were engrossed in her as you admired, murmuring, “you look beautiful.”
you swore you could see natalie’s cheeks gain a rosy hue. she cleared her throat, hiding her face with her fist, and you felt butterflies in your chest, tearing your eyes away from her angelic face.
“uh, anyways,” you changed the topic quickly, flustered at what you had said, “good luck at nationals. i’ll be waiting for your return with the trophy.”
natalie elbowed you gently, smirking, “i’ll see you at the after-party, yeah?”
you nodded, “for sure.”
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
processing grief was difficult, you came to learn. upon hearing of the plane crash, you didn’t cry. you didn’t scream, you didn’t react in any way. you just lied in bed for days, shackled down by a huge wave of apathy. you lost a lot of weight, nearly puking every time you touched food.
after a few months, you grew hopeful. you knew natalie – you knew she was alive. she was a fighting spirit, and something told you that things would be okay.
when the first winter passed, you finally accepted that natalie was probably dead. the grief hit you in a delayed wave, and your friends held you as you wept in the bathroom that you had routinely done her hair in the past. you tore the polaroids of you and her off your walls, stuffing them into a box under your bed. you didn’t want to see her. you hated her for leaving you alone in this world, and you hated that you had loved her so much.
you despised natalie scatorccio. you despised the way she would laugh with you, joke with you, the way the corners of her mouth gently rose when she was trying to hide her giggles in history class, the way she drew on your arm when she was bored, and the way she always hugged you after practice when she was sweaty and covered in mud, much to your disdain.
you began to move on after a year; well, that was a lie – you knew that you would never move on from the impact she had left on your life, but college was around the corner, and you knew that you would have to step into this new chapter without her. you still had the leather jacket that she had left in your house one time, and you couldn’t bare to lose it, so you took it with you, and boy, did you wear it everywhere. it became a part of you; it protected you.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
it was the spring of your second year of university, studying (whatever lol). you had come back to new jersey to visit your family and earn some money at your part time job at the cinema. you had tuned out most of the world, listening to music in your walkman, dancing around your family-home bedroom.
the girls had been found and returned home safe and sound – well, most of them. but, when you tried to reach out to natalie, you never received a response. it was difficult to contact any of the girls, really, and you decided that it was probably for the best. she had probably forgotten you; she was probably a different person anyways. you were initially extremely upset, but you pushed it down, focusing on your college assignments.
“you’re out of touch, i’m out of time!”, you sang to yourself as you bopped your head to the music. for once, you felt a little happy in life, things were going smoothly, and your friends were lovely. you imagined what they were doing in this moment – probably studying or out partying. you were excited to return to university.
suddenly, you heard a familiar rhythmic clinking against your window. you stiffened up, tears perking in your eyes. it was probably all in your head, and you stared for a moment, slowly taking your headphones off your ears. the tapping sound didn’t stop. you hesitantly shuffled to your window and, like clockwork, peeked your eye out between the curtains, but this time, you ripped them open almost immediately. your eyes began to pour with a wave of what seemed to be grief and joy as none other than natalie scatorccio stood outside, rain dampening her hair.
you nearly tripped as you sprinted down the stairs in your work uniform, and without a care in the world, you ran outside into the downpour. she caught you as you fell into her arms, holding her tight and hiccuping. she felt so, so warm against the coldness of the stormy air, and you knew in that moment that she was real. she was here with you.
… .. .
natalie wiped her hair with a towel as she sat in your bathroom, your tears still pouring. bringing a hand to your face, she wiped your tears with a thumb, smiling gently. “i’m back, for good,” is all she said.
your hands were shaky as you touched her hair. her roots had grown out, but she still looked like the same girl you had seen every day for years; she still looked like the girl you loved with your whole heart – the girl that had changed your life. she leaned into your touch.
“i thought i’d never see you again, nat,” you whispered, voice shaky, and she pulled you into her, arms wrapping around you. she stroked your hair, and you felt your chest constrict.
“what happened out there,” she began, “was traumatising, and i’m not ready to talk about it yet, but i want you to know that the whole time i was out there, i survived for you. i could’ve died and rid myself of this miserable world, but it was you. you kept me going.”
you dipped your head down a little as she spoke. she was enthralling, and you remembered how difficult processing the grief over her had been.
“i love you, nat,” you suddenly confessed, “and i never stopped. i don’t think i could’ve stopped, even if i tried.”
she looked at you, her mouth open in an o shape before she placed her mouth onto yours. the kiss felt bittersweet, and you could feel your worries evaporate. her lips were soft against your own ones and you tasted undertones of cigarette smoke amongst her cherry flavoured lip gloss. it was liberating. layers of grief began to dissolve, and your chest felt as though it was going to burst.
when natalie pulled away, she smiled at you gentler than you had ever seen. it was like you were porcelain and she was afraid to shatter you.
you both caught up a little longer, her hands lingering on yours with soft, endearing looks of admiration from both sides. your love for each other felt unspoken after the initial confession, and it felt as if nothing had ever split you apart from each other; like you had loved naturally the entire time she was gone.
as you both laid in bed looking at the glow-in-the-dark stars on your ceiling, her ear against your chest, listening to your heartbeat, you finally mentioned the unspoken.
“do you want me to bleach your hair?”
natalie hummed for a moment before shaking her head, “nah, i think i want to cut it all off and grow out my brown again. what do you think?”
your thoughts lingered in the sentence. “yeah, makes sense,” you replied, “hair holds memories and all. it’d be nice to start fresh again.”
“exactly”, she said, sitting up, “wanna do it now?”
you giggled as she pulled you up by the hand, following her to the bathroom.
“alright.”

Monday - August 14th 2023. Present Day
According to Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, when we are dying or have suffered a catastrophic loss, we all move through five stages of grief. We go into denial because the loss is so unthinkable we can’t imagine it’s true.
We become angry with everyone, angry with survivors, angry with ourselves, then we bargain. We beg, we plead. We offer everything we have. We offer up our souls in exchange for just one more day.
When the bargaining has failed and the anger is too hard to maintain, we fall into depression, despair, until finally we have to accept that we have done everything that we can.
We let go. We let go and move into acceptance. Or not.
Jake didn’t know what the time was when he woke up. He didn’t want to know if it had been two hours or twenty, all he cared about was that he could feel you next to him. He could feel the weight of your bed dip next to him from where you slept soundly, peacefully. Most of it in his warm embrace, some most likely on your side.
Jake rolled over under the sheet that kept his body from being completely exposed—usually he wouldn’t mind. He was a confident man with the women he chose to spend his nights with. Not that he had been spending nights with anyone besides you since before the mission.
Usually he wouldn’t mind, he had a pretty good body. But now that Jake's body was battered and bruised, marked and scared beyond repair, he cared. He cared about the flimsy sheet that kept him semi-covered. He didn’t recognise himself in the mirror anymore, but with you? He felt safe, secure in his new insecurities.
“Hollywood—“ Jake mumbled as he drew you closer. “You awake?” He mumbled into your hair, taking the moment to inhale the sweet smell of your shampoo. Bergamot and notes of vanilla. When you didn’t stir Jake kissed your shoulder. “Y/n? You awake?” Jake tried again but was still met with nothing. “Hollywood?”
There was a sinking feeling in the pit of Jake's stomach he wasn’t a fan of when you didn’t stir, when you didn’t acknowledge him like you normally would. He took a second to realise just how cold you were to the touch. How still you were in his warm embrace.
How there was no rise and fall from the breathing pattern Jake had become so accustomed to these past few weeks, from all the nights you’d spent in each other's arms fighting off each other’s demons. Protecting one another from the darkest corners of the world.
It wasn’t all that uncommon for Jake to wake up for you having an all out attack. Your Asthma was something of an enigma to the doctors and nurses that had taken care of you. Some believed it was all psychological, others believed it was a combination of your deteriorating health and the conditions you were kept in.
Regardless—it scared the hell out of Jake whenever he woke up and you couldn’t breathe. But they were always loud and terrifying attacks. They were never silent.
“Hey, Y/n?” Jake shook you a little to see if you’d react, but when all your body did was fall limp against him? Jake sprung up as fast as he could to find his phone. “No no no no no no—!”
Once upon a time, happily ever after. The stories we tell are all just the stuff of dreams. Fairy tales don’t come true. Reality is much stormier. Much murkier. More scarier.
“Y/n! Stay with me alright.” Jake begged as his hands shook, dialing for an ambulance as he turned back to look at you lying lifeless in your own bed, the safest place on earth. “Please don’t leave me now.” He begged, waiting for the operator to pick up. “Where the fuck is it?” He was looking for your inhaler, the red one with the warning labels on it. It was usually on your bedside table. You kept a blue one in your car and a green one in your bag. You always had one. Yet the one beside your bed was gone?
“Hello, nine one one?” Reality, it’s so much more interesting than living happily ever after. Jake spotted the little red inhaler under your bed, the top was only just visible. Then it hit him. What if it had fallen off last night? When the bed was shaking and you were on top? The only place you deserved to be. In control and facing your fears.
“I need an ambulance!” Jake cried. “I can’t save her.” He sobbed, it was his nightmare, the one that brought him to your front porch in the middle of the night more often than not. The one where you were taken away from him. “Please—please she needs an ambulance!” It rivaled the one where he was forced to hurt you.
Jake gave all the information the operator on the other end of the line needed before he was back by your side. He was careful in his movements as you lifted your limp and lifeless body up off your bed and onto the ground. Kneeling beside you, Jake kept the operator on the phone while he started CPR. This he knew how to do.
“Come on baby, don’t get off the train, stay with me.” It wasn’t the first time Jake had given CPR, but it was the first time he’d given it to someone he loved. “Please stay with me.” It was a rhythm no one wanted to fall into, that lifesaving rhythm while rib’s threatened to crack under the pressure. “Don’t you dare leave me here, not now.” One two three four and so on and so forth, Jake kept pressing the palms of his hands into your chest. “Not ever, you hear me? You don’t get to just leave me here.”
You couldn’t die, not now. How on earth was this how you died? Why did you go through so much trauma, so much pain, so much suffering just to die silently in your sleep in your bed next to the man you wanted nothing more to love till the end of time.
“No no no no, come on baby, come on!” Jake wasn’t about to give up on you. You’d been through too much. “Come on stay with me, just a little longer, yeah?” He wanted you to say okay. That you’d stay just a little while longer. But as Jake's cries for help echoed through your home he knew that you weren’t coming back. “HELP ME! SOMEONE!”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***
The dictionary defines grief as keen mental suffering or distress over affliction or loss, sharp sorrow, painful regret. As aviators, you’re taught to learn from and rely on the books, the tests, the science behind it all, the definitions, the definitives.
But in life, strict definitions rarely apply. In life, grief can look like a lot of things that bear little resemblance to sharp sorrow.
Bradley Bradshaw had known Jake Seresin for almost his entire Naval career. The two had been at odds for most of that time, both too proud to admit their own flaws. They had both been the reason behind each other's callsigns, in heated arguments at whatever bar they found themselves in or after training sessions gone wrong.
Hangman was the stuff of every aviator's nightmares. A cautionary tale that told whoever was paired up with Jake Seresin, that they would get left behind. But Jake had proven time and time again that when it really came down to it, when it really mattered, when it was life or death and nothing in between—he wouldn’t leave his wingman behind, or his weapon’s system officer for that matter.
And as Bradley watched Jake crumble into the chest of the doctor who’d just told him you weren’t coming back, he knew that Hangman was dead too. He’d been dead since he was shot down.
“The asthma was new, from our best guess we’d say it was a direct result of the environment you were both held in.” The doctor had explained, he was the one who treated you initially. “She had a lot of build up in her lungs, dirt, dust, it caused an infection we thought we had combat, but it looks as if it came back stronger then the first time and she didn’t say anything to indicate otherwise.” The one who bandaged you up and put you back together enough so that your inner demons couldn’t wreak havoc on the world. “I’m sorry Lieutenant, Hollywood was a good woman.” It meant nothing to Jake—he’d stopped listening after the initial ‘Im sorry’ had come out of Doctor Stevens' mouth. There was nothing else to do but process the fact you’d left him behind.
And it felt like you’d done it on purpose too. Because you would have told him something was wrong if you were sick, but you hadn’t said a word.
“Hangman–” Bradley cooed from where he stood by the door of one of the empty patient rooms Jake had found himself in. He was lost, lost in a world without you. Left behind to navigate through his own trauma. “Why don't I take you home?” For Jake it had been only a few minutes since he was officially told you were dead–the last thing he ever expected to hear after everything you had survived. He thought you were invincible, his wonderwoman of unbreakable strength and determination. But in reality, where happily ever afters didn’t exist, it had been three whole hours. “Jake? I'll take you anywhere you wanna go man, but you can't stay here.”
“I saw her tortured Rooster.” It was the first thing Jake had said since he’d been told that you weren’t coming back to him. “I saw her have her bones broken and her body used against her.” Jake's voice was far too calm for Bradley’s liking, he needed Jake to shout, to be angry, to grieve. “She fought so hard to stay alive.” Ah. There it was, the tone Rooster was looking for as he stood across the empty space, watching as Jake stood to his feet. Hands balls at his sides.
“She did whatever she had to do to stay alive and she did whatever she had to do to keep me alive!” Jake seethed through gritted teeth as he took a few heavy steps towards Rooster. Bradley didn’t dare move. “And believe me Bradshaw I wanted to die, I wanted them to kill me just so I didn’t have to live with the guilt of knowing that everything she went through, everything she felt, everything they did to her was a direct result of my actions!” Jake explained as he blamed himself even more for everything that happened. “She begged me to kill her because she knew what they would do to her and I couldn’t, I was selfish because I didn’t want to live in a world without her and guess what they did!?” Jake growled as he punched the wall beside him, his fist went straight through the drywall. “They did exactly what she knew they would do, one by one, day after day.”
“Jake—“ Bradley tried to intervene but all Jake did was turn around and swipe his arms across the medical cart, throwing everything that had been splayed across the top to the floor in a fit of rage.
“And after everything! After we survived! SHE GOES AND DIES FROM AN ASTHMA  ATTACK IN HER SLEEP!? RIGHT THERE IN MY ARMS!?” Rooster knew what it was like to lose a loved one, he’d already lost far too many, but he didn’t know what it was like to lose the love of your life.
“Jake—“ Bradley tried again but it was to no avail. Jake was unraveling at his very thin seams. “They couldn’t have predicted it.”
“IT'S THEIR JOB TO PREDICT IT!” Jake shouted as loud as he could, so loud he was red in the face as tears streamed down his cheeks. “JUST LIKE IT WAS MY JOB TO PREVENT THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING.” He shook his head in disbelief all the while he looked up to whatever god was on deck that day. “Just like it was my job to keep her safe.”
“None of this is your fault.” Bradley tried to reason with the shattered man who stood before him. “You can’t blame yourself for what happened man—it was an asthma attack.”
“I was going after you.” Jake finally admitted what he’d been doing when the pair of you were struck. You knew, you were Jake's first, only and last weapons system officer. You knew what he was doing before he’d even gone ahead and executed his plan. That decision caused your pain, your torment, your death.
“What are you doing man.” Bradley sighed at the words his wingman spoke. He’d never seen Jake so distraught before. “Hollywood wouldn’t want you to be like this.”
“It should have been you—That SAM was yours, Rooster.” Jake hissed through gritted teeth as he stood toe to toe with Bradley. “And because you’re so full of chicken shit, I took the hit for you.” It didn’t take long for Jake to correct what he’d said as he pressed his finger into Roosters chest. “We, took the hit for you and now she’s dead.”
Jake hadn’t yet passed his psych eval, he hadn’t yet returned to work because he still took medication for his heart. He wasn’t sure if he was ever going to, but without you? There was no way in hell he was going back. He couldn’t breathe without you, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat. How was he supposed to ever fly again? Without his one and only WSO.
“And now more than anything—“ Jake couldn’t drown out your screams, he couldn’t stop his brain from hearing your gut wrenching shrills of pain. He couldn’t turn it off—the guilt, the fear, the anger. But he was still here, and you were gone. Standing on the platform watching him go by at two hundred miles an hour. Begging him to get off the train and join you.
Because the farm was just perfect, and nothing hurt anymore.
In aviation training, there are a hundred different classes that teach you how to fight off death. But in those hundreds of classes there is not a single one that teaches you how to go on living.
Oh what Jake Seresin would give to get off the train with you.
“I wish I was too.”

hi , can you write about Kai Anderson getting really jealous and possessive with his girlfriend please? I hope this is ok with you. Thanks 💖
Jealousy 🔥
Tumblr media
Summery: Kai goes to visit you at the bar you worked at. He doesn’t like what he sees.
Warning: language, mentions of death & blood, alcohol, violence.
Kai’s POV
My therapist once said that I show signs of exhibitionist jealousy. I won’t lie, I always strive to be superior and better than all. I am competitive, and at the sign of loss I become resentful.
I know the feeling of jealousy, but I don’t allow myself to fully come forward to admit that I feel that emotion. You’re mine. I own you, your body, your mind. I don’t like to see anyone else look at you the way only I am supposed to look at you.
Tonight was no different. I sit at the end of the bar. Females with barely any morals parading around half naked around me. One tried to speak to me, but I could smell her fake tan and ignored her, my eyes fixated on you as you served the men and women all staring at you- they want your attention. They want you to make them a drink, and they probably all want to fuck you.
I took another sip from the vodka cran you made for me earlier that night. You had winked at me as you slid it over the bar. It was alright, but your pussy tastes far sweeter.
I watched you giggle and became so curious to know what the man in front of you had said that made you smile. I’ll have to smash his face into the porcelain sink next time he uses the restroom.
He kept talking to you, until you turned your head making eye contact with me. I could see your mouth moving, the world ‘boyfriend’ certainly leaving your lips. He got the hint, and the fire inside my bones subsided- just a little. Nobody gets away with flirting with you, especially when I was watching it.
I chugged the last of my drink, knowing if I slid over the empty glass you would see it, and you would come over to hastily attend to my needs for a new drink. You were such a good little girl for your Devine Ruler. Your instincts must have felt my demand and you were suddenly making your way over to me.
Until that man’s hand grabbed your arm.
“Yo bitch, I’ve been waiting forever for a fucking IPA!”
Ohhhhh. No no no no no.
Fuck that.
I felt my body slide off the bar stool, some skinny skank snaking in, eager to get another tequila shot to send her deeper into a drunk that was going to get her in a lot of trouble later.
I walked slowly towards this asshole, and I grabbed his shoulder. Your eyes widened as you noticed me there, and the douchebag let go of his tight grip on you, and he was suddenly looking right into my eyes. He was pathetic, I could tell in his gray blue brainless eyes.
“Don’t you EVER fucking touch her,” I seethed in anger. If there was a god, he was reminding me that there was a room full of people and not to get out of hand. Yet.

“Who the fuck are you?” The man shoved my hand off his shoulder. I laughed. He didn’t know who he was talking to. Poor pathetic mindless fuck.
“I’m here to remind you not to touch things that don’t belong to you,” I narrowed my eyes at this sorry excuse of a person before me. He probably still lives with his mom and watches porn on his lunch breaks.
“Kai, just let it go,” Your sweet voice soothed the anger in my veins. I looked to you and the halfwit slithered himself back into the crowd of people. I’d find him later, I had other sets of eyes all over this place so I could keep you safe.
I leaned in close, my hand grabbing the back of her head close so I could whisper in her ear.
“You know I don’t like when someone touches you. You’re mine.” I was happy that her hair still smelled like our shampoo.
“Fuck, you really know how to turn me on,” She whispered back in my ear and I felt my dick harden. She was just as fucking smart as me.
“Meet me outside in 5,” I let her go and made my way into the small hallway, making my way towards the exit. I saw the man who was flirting with you earlier walking in the same direction and we exited the bar at the same time. Exhilarating. It’s not everyday when things are this easy for me.
I watched as he pulled out a smoke. I could go for one of those.
“Hey, can I bum one off you?” I asked, nodding towards the man’s cigarette.
“Yeah dude, here you go.” I grabbed it and lit it up, sticking it between my lips.
“You know any other good bars around here? This one has negative 2 good looking girls in there,” He chuckled. If only he knew that girls hated men that smoked and who had patchy beards.
“Nah, this one is the only one with the good drinks.” I responded. He looked at me curiously, and it clicked.
“Oh about that bartender. I didn’t know she had a boyfriend bro. I’m sorry,” He took a drag from his cigarette and laughed “I mean can you blame me though? She’s a fucking fox.”
Nobody talks about my sweet doe like that.
I felt my first smash into his nose. Not once. Not twice, but three…maybe four times. I felt the warmth of his blood all over my hand. I love that feeling.
Okay, maybe I did have some exhibitionist jealousy issues.
I watched him lay unconscious below me, not turning around as I heard the door of the bar creak open.
“You know, bloodying a man’s face is better than any rose you could buy me,” You whispered to me as you curled your arms around my waist.
I smile before taking your hand and leading you away from the filthy excuse of a man.

“I had to make sure he knew who you belonged to.”
“It was kind of you to keep him alive,” You brought my bloody hand up to your lips you kissed my knuckles. The blood lingered on your lips for a moment before slowly wiped them off. I needed to take you home and fuck you.
“He is one who can learn from his mistakes. He knows never to lay his eyes on you ever again,” I told her, bringing her down towards the alleyway behind the bar. I saw your eyes widen as Speedwagon came into your view. He was beating the ever living shit out of the man who had grabbed you at the bar…
“Now this man here, he’s too far gone to be forgiven. Laying your eyes on my little lamb is one thing, but laying your hand on her is a whole other story.”
“I love it when you get jealous,” Her lips were on mine before I had a chance to speak.
I’d be lying If I said I didn’t love it too.

Five | Vagabond | The Last Kingdom
"I will find him, and I will bring him back,"
"I'll risk everything, even my own life if necessary, he deserves that much,"
<- prev || masterlist || next ->
─── ✦⋅ ☆⋅✦ ───
It had been years since the tragic losses of Iseult and Leofric, marking a sombre passage of time since Uhtred and I made our solemn pact amidst the aftermath of the brutal Battle of Ethandun.
Now, our journey had brought us to Eoferwich, following the daring and a little ridiculous rescue of Guthred from the clutches of Kjartan and Sven, Danish warriors who had kept Guthred captive until our intervention.
In the intervening years, Uhtred and I forged an unbreakable bond, assembling a steadfast group around us. Among them was Kjartan's bastard, the latest addition to our ranks. While he showed promise, Halig's lingering distrust of him left me somewhat cautious. Halig, once a loyal retainer of Wulfhere, had chosen to stand by our side, a testament to the strength after the Battle of Ethandun.
Lastly, there was Clapa, a towering figure whose gentle demeanour belied his imposing stature. In him, I found echoes of Leofric's humour and protective spirit, a comforting presence amidst our trials. Together, we navigated the tumultuous currents of fate, bound by loyalty, trust, and the shared weight of our past experiences.
The river water enveloped me in its chilly embrace, yet its temperature failed to register in my senses. I submerged my head, allowing the liquid to saturate my hair completely.
Nostalgia swept over me as I yearned for the familiar scents of my shampoos and soaps, the squeaky clean feeling that would leave my skin as I cleansed and exfoliated. I sighed, reclining in the water and closing my eyes to bask in the moment.
Abruptly, a voice disrupted my solitude. "You've never told me what those marks mean," it said. Startled, I turned to find Uhtred seated at the water's edge, observing me intently. "Uhtred!" I gasped, splashing water in his direction, but he only chuckled in response.
"Turn around right now," I commanded, and he continued to laugh, teasingly complying. "Where I'm from, it is rude to stare at women when they're naked," I added, smirking.
"That is also a custom here," he teased, finally turning around as I navigated out of the water, reattaching my clothes. I seized the opportunity to sneakily approach him, delivering a playful smack to the back of his head, prompting a groan from him.
Despite outward appearances and the assumptions of others, Uhtred and I maintained a steadfast commitment to our bond, which, though enduring and profound, remained rooted solely in friendship throughout the passing years.
Even amidst moments of pure inebriation, when the allure of intoxication and the taste of sour ale threatened to blur the lines of propriety, neither Uhtred nor I succumbed to the temptation of physical intimacy. Crossing the threshold into that territory would've surely affected us in ways beyond repair so neither of us ever took the risk.
"I only have three marks, well, tattoos," I explained as we started walking back together, with Uhtred placing his arm lazily around my shoulders. "A small butterfly on my hip that I got with my friend when we first turned 18," I said, tugging at my pants to reveal the delicate creature on my hip bone.
"I have the word 'grateful' on my ribcage," I continued, pulling up my tunic to expose the tattoo "And this one here is a small crescent moon," I concluded, displaying the final tattoo on my upper arm.
Uhtred traced the crescent moon with his thumb before leaving his finger pressed over it. "Is it common for women to get tattoos there?" he asked, and I nodded, replying, "Very common."
A moment of silence enveloped us as the crowd reappeared, and suddenly, Uhtred seized my arm, compelling me to stop in step with him.
"Go find Sihtric," he instructed firmly, and I rolled my eyes. "What now?" I asked, but the smile faded from my face when I took in his serious expression.
"Uhtred you're worrying me" I quickly said my eyes searching his face for an explanation. "Tell me right now what it is" I demanded grabbing his arm but he shrugged my hand away.
"Something is wrong," he said before running off, his face contorted with worry. I huffed before beginning my search for Sihtric, only to stumble upon Gisela, who wore a panicked expression.
"What is the matter?" I asked, and she panted heavily stumbling over her words. "My brother, he's planning on..." she started, and my frown deepened. "He's going to sell Uhtred as a slave," she said, dragging me towards the commotion.
I watched as Halig and Uhtred beat against the small confinement they were thrown in, without a second thought I confronted Guthred, my sword drawn, demanding an explanation "Tell me what you are doing, or so help me, I will land this sword between your eyes," I threatened.
"Do nothing" Uhtred pleaded with me and I shot him a look.
Guthred nervously explained his need for men, Aelfric's involvement, and insisted it was for the best. The rat had sold out the men who had rescued him so easily, loyalty certainly didn't mean a lot to him.
Ignoring Uhtred's plea, the cart rolled out, and I struggled against guards as they held me back, calling out Uhtred and Halig's names.
"Guthred do not do this" I warned and he shook his head affirming "It is for the best lady."
"Do nothing," Uhtred repeated, his voice now laced with a sense of urgency that cut through the chaos surrounding us. Even in the grip of fear, he was adamant in his concern for my safety.
"I'll find you, I swear!" I shouted desperately as the cart lurched forward, carrying him away from me. With a final, harsh shove that sent me sprawling to the ground, I vowed vengeance upon Guthred. "You will pay for this," I seethed, sheathing my sword with determination and storming out of the hall with urgency burning in my veins.
Determined to take action, I sought out Sihtric. "I'm going to Alfred," I declared, met with his questioning gaze "And then what? You're going to search for Uhtred alone?" he challenged. I shook my head fiercely. "I'm going to plead with Alfred to let Ragnar assist me in finding him," I explained, swiftly gathering my belongings.
"You must stay here and keep watch over Guthred, protect Gisela," I instructed, leading us toward the waiting horses.
"I will find him, and I will bring him back," I vowed, pushing my damp hair from my eyes. "I'll risk everything, even my own life if necessary, he deserves that much," I added resolutely as my horse surged forward, carrying me toward the dreaded city of Winchester, where Uhtred's fate awaited.

hey i saw your post about your hair. i have the same hair texture. For the texture I use shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, i also would use an anti frizz serum if you have frizz like me. I also use a very hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
but for the hair loss I have heard really amazing things about tail and main (i think it’s called) it’s super cheap (it is technically for horses lmao) but it works really well to give you shiny strong thick hair. I have also heard amazing things about prenatal vitamins for hair and nails.
Hope it helps <3
Thank you for answering! I used to use tail and mane all the time and really liked it! I can't find it anywhere though. I went and bought some new products today at Target like Mielle hair oil and Aussie mousse+leave in conditioner. I'll look into the prenatal vitamins, that sounds interesting. I don't wanna take them from the pregnant women who need them though lol 😭

Helpful Life Hacks: PERSONAL HYGIENE HACKS
Tumblr media
Maintaining good personal hygiene is an essential part of daily life. By taking care of your hygiene, you not only prevent the spread of germs and bacteria but also feel more confident and refreshed. Here are some personal hygiene hacks that can help both men and women stay clean and healthy without breaking the bank.
Use Coconut Oil as a Moisturizer
Tumblr media
Coconut oil is a natural and cost-effective moisturizer that is perfect for both men and women. It can help to nourish and hydrate your skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. Simply apply a small amount of coconut oil to your skin after showering or shaving, and you're good to go.
Replace Your Towels Often
Tumblr media
Towels can be a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi, which can cause skin irritation and infections. It's essential to replace your towels every few days to prevent the buildup of germs. To save time and money, consider buying a set of microfiber towels that are more absorbent and dry faster than regular towels.
Practice Proper Oral Hygiene
Tumblr media
A healthy mouth is an important part of personal hygiene. Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes using a fluoride toothpaste to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Floss daily to remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth and use a mouthwash to freshen your breath.
Keep Your Feet Clean and Dry
Tumblr media
Our feet can be a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi, which can cause foot odor, athlete's foot, and other infections. To prevent these issues, it's essential to keep your feet clean and dry. Wash your feet daily with soap and water, and dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes. Wear clean socks every day and change them if they become wet or sweaty.
Choose the Right Underwear
Tumblr media
Wearing the right underwear can make a big difference in your personal hygiene. Cotton underwear is breathable and absorbent, helping to prevent sweat and odor buildup. It's also essential to choose the right size and style to ensure that your underwear is comfortable and provides enough support.
Use a Bidet
Tumblr media
A bidet is a great alternative to toilet paper that can help to improve personal hygiene while reducing waste. It sprays water to clean the area after using the toilet, leaving you feeling clean and refreshed. Bidets are becoming more common in many countries, and there are many affordable options available online.
Keep Your Hair Clean and Healthy
Tumblr media
Your hair can be a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi, which can cause dandruff, scalp infections, and hair loss. It's essential to keep your hair clean and healthy by washing it regularly with a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair type. Avoid using too much hair styling products, as they can clog your hair follicles and cause breakouts on your scalp.
Tumblr media
Maintaining good personal hygiene doesn't have to be expensive or time-consuming. By following these hygiene hacks, you can stay clean and healthy without breaking the bank. Remember, good hygiene habits can also help to boost your confidence and make you feel more comfortable in your own skin.

Do Men Need Hair Conditioner? What is it Good For?
Tumblr media
Men, like women, can benefit from using hair conditioners. Conditioner helps to nourish and hydrate the hair and scalp, promoting healthy hair growth and reducing scalp tenderness. It can also help to manage frizz and make the hair easier to style. Using a conditioner specifically designed for men can provide additional benefits, as it will be formulated to address the unique needs and concerns of male hair and scalp.
What are Different Types of Conditioners?
Conditioners are available in various types. These comprise deep conditioners, leave-in conditioners, and instant conditioners. Here is a detailed overview of each kind of conditioner:
Deep Conditioners
Leave-In Conditioners
Instant Conditioners
Benefits of Using Hair Conditioner for Men
When you use a hair conditioner immediately after shampooing, you can restore the natural oils. These can help protect your hair and keep it hydrated all day. By using a hair conditioner, you can also enjoy benefits like:
Repairs your Cuticle
Offers Complete Moisture
Protection From Sun and Pollution
Prevents Water Loss
What You Should Avoid When Using a Hair Conditioner?
Before applying a conditioner, you should know the mistakes you must avoid. This will help you achieve healthier curls as you are done. The most common conditioner mistakes that you must avoid are:
Using Conditioner From Root to Tip
Leaving The Conditioner on your Hair for Too Long
Not Using The Conditioner Regularly
Overusing Or Using Too Little
Certainly, you may now have the answer to the question-"Should men use hair conditioner?" Men, like women, need to condition their hair, and using the right hair conditioner can help. For men with dry or frizzy hair, it is beneficial to condition your hair regularly. But, if you have oily hair, use hair conditioner less often.
When you use the product, focus on the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Avoid conditioning the scalp area. To buy a hair conditioner and want to know more about our product benefits, visit our website or the link provided below.
