Some Severance Characters x Reader Headcanons

(Mostly platonic, a few romantic in italics)

I noticed there is literally zero Severance fandom self-insert content so I decided to do my duty and fix that. Call me cringe idc, I just want to imagine myself hanging out with these characters I’ve fallen in love with!

Helly R

You and Helly together would certainly be a force to be reckoned with

You help each other come up with escape plans, all of which unfortunately fail or Mark shuts down before you even try them

Despite the failures and hopelessness, though, she’d find a lot of joy hanging out with you

She would try to sneak into the elevator at the same time as you after work so your outies could meet

If your relationship becomes romantic, she would love kissing you at the most inappropriate times. Mostly because she just likes kissing you, but also because she knows someone is always watching and wants to piss off management lol

Mark S

Mark didn’t think he could ever have another best friend after Petey, but you prove him wrong

You make him laugh and smile, even on the days he comes in looking sad and hungover

He can never remember why, of course, but you’re there for him either way. You both just have to make peace with the fact his outie is going through some shit you’ll never know about

He’d be very sweet with you as he’s training you, he knows how weird being a new hire can be so he’s very gentle with you and Helly when you start

I think he’d be a slow burn office romance kinda guy, so if you do end up advancing your relationship, he will definitely not be the one making the first move. If you like him you’re just going to straight up tell him lol he will not get it otherwise

Dylan

Your relationship with Dylan is mainly competition and messing with each other

You’ll steal his finger traps when he’s not looking and sabotage/distract him from work so you win more prizes than him

Your teasing of each other is both extremely annoying and endearing for your other coworkers

You like to hang out and chat with him by the vending machines, getting excited whenever a new snack is added

Irving

Irving would be surprised that a fifth person is joining MDR, but he soon finds the more the merrier

He likes that with an additional person the work gets done faster and the quarterly quotas are less stressful

If you’ll indulge him, he likes taking you on walks and field trips and yapping about Eagan history

Harmony

A friendship or relationship with Harmony would probably go similarly to how she treated Mark, let’s be real

She’d be a little obsessed with you in her own weird way, and she’d pursue your outie as well if possible

If you manage to get past her cold exterior, I honestly think she could be very caring to someone she actually cares about. As long as you don’t get in the way of her and Kier lol

Mr. Milchick AKA Milkshake

This guys can be very scary and unsettling, but if you don’t mind that? He would be so fucking fun to hang out with

I think he can sing as well as he dances. You catch him humming and singing little tunes sometimes

Since he’s not severed, he’d sometimes accidentally slip things about your outie, since he knows both versions of you

He would resist any affection towards you, but inevitably a flirty comment would come out and you’d just stare at him in shock

Natalie

As the spokesperson for the Lumon Board, Natalie really isn’t supposed to have relationships with coworkers, especially not severed ones

But whenever she’s 99% sure they’re not listening, she likes to spend time chatting with you

You’re fascinating to her, and if you get close enough she might even start seeing you as a real person

Ms Casey

You’re her favorite client by far, and seeing you on her schedule always brings a smile to her face

You’d fake not feeling well a LOT just so you can have more wellness sessions with her

On the rare occasion she gets to leave the wellness office, she loves hanging out with you in MDR

If anything she reads about your outie involves love, she gets a bit jealous, knowing she’ll probably never get to experience it with either version of you

kokichi's excuse for renting himself a girl/boyfriend is that he's ‘bored’ and ‘got nothing better to do anyways’, yet he does genuinely seek out connections with people but is too scared to commit

he just wants to have someone to talk to and open up to a little, even if it means paying them to do so. yet he won't even admit that to you!

the first time kokichi meets you, he's constantly joking around and only asking about your life instead of telling you about himself

yet as he takes you on a second and even third date, the roles begin to switch a little, as you join him for his shenanigans and jokes around with him, causing him to enjoy your company enough to open up to you bit by bit

he never gets too vulnerable, but he does tell you about things he usually wouldn't talk to with his peers, happy that he can finally talk a little about himself without being judged

yet with each date, kokichi begins to enjoy your company more and more, until he slowly realizes he's falling in love with you

of course, he can't just confess to you! dating people is your job and kokichi knows that he'd be breaking some rules if he started a relationship with you

but since he's always joking around anyways, he does end up confessing to you in his own way; joking that you should leave this job behind and actually become his partner! wouldn't that be nice…?

i think so often about the fact that lumon raises its unsevered employees. and that they all probably know each other from childhood. cobel and reghabi as teenagers fighting over lab equipment. drummond and graner arm wrestling during lunch. 12 year old natalie getting pulled out of class for private translation and interpretation lessons, milchick spending the rest of the class alone. god. and how much of this show is about finding your own happiness in a hopeless situation. it wouldn't surprise me if children raised in a cult finding solace in each other was a plot point

He'd think about it for a moment, pretending as if he's against the idea but it's just to tease you, he'd feed you every day if he was asked to.

He loves being able to feed you because not only is he being helpful, but he feels good about himself knowing he can take care of your needs.

Definitely starts giggling every time you open your mouth to take a bite.

Like I'm not even joking, sometimes he'll drop it before he can even feed you because he's kicking his legs too much.

You'll raise a brow at him because he's starting to twirl his hair, and now he even insists on calling himself your wife.

"Kokichi wtf are you doing?" "Shhh.. Let wifey take care of you... Blinks eyelashes aggressively"

But the first time when you asked him to, it wasn't that he was uncomfortable, but you could've sworn he started to sweat and his hand was shaking the whole time.

When you ask him if he's okay, he'll "Nishishi~ Don't worry about it!" it's off but he's trying to make sure that he doesn't hit your face with the spoon or something.

Also he does a taste test before he feeds you. Just to make sure that it's not poisoned, yk? Totally not because he wants to see if the food is yummy.

Imagine if you look inside your bowl because for some suspicious reason, the spoonful's aren't even full. They're just tiny portions. And the bowl is like, 80% empty because your stupid boyfriend ate everything.

It's a disaster, but it's out of love.

Shuichi

REALLLLLLYYY shy about it.

He wants to so badly but it's like he can never get used to it. Not when you look so cute whenever you let out a little "aah" before taking a bite.

He'll short-circuit halfway through putting the spoon in your mouth.

Apologizes for EVERYTHING.

If even a bit of food was on your lip, he's gonna give you a thousand apologies, and he's not gonna stop until you tell him to politely shut up 😭

He's a clever boy, when you asked him to feed you because you needed help, first thought was just to do what you asked for because it was probably for something important.

If you're eating or munching on something unhealthy like ice cream, he'll probably sneak a few bites though. Not because he wants to actually eat your stuff, but he just doesn't want you getting diabetes or smth LMAO

Hands down literally the best most caring sweetest girlfriend ever it's baffling.

Even if you don't ask to, she's still gonna feed you because she loves showing that she cares.

She's smiling the whole time and it makes your face get all hot every. single. time.

When you're finished, she washes all the dishes, and plays some piano for you afterward.

It gives you baby fever because she has that motherly kind of care to it.

When you asked her the first time, her face lit up like a Christmas tree and she didn't even ask any questions about it either.

She makes sweet little comments while you're taking bites like "Awh your eyes are so pretty!" or "Have I ever told you how perfect you are?"

She always blows on the food before giving it to you so you don't burn your mouth.

If you're eating soup or having something messy, she'll tie your hair up first so nothing gets in the way of you enjoying your meal.

A/N: Ahhhhh I love this man!!! 😖 I've been in a little rut for motivation lately ( mostly for Genshin ) so I've been scared to start on request out of fear of getting stuck and never finishing them.. I'm also not good with such broad topics as relationship headcanons so I'm sorry if this isn't satisfactory.. At least I tried, right? 😅

↪ When it comes to Kokichi and the topic of love, he sticks out his tongue and blows raspberries like a little kid because...ewwwww! Love is yucky and gross and full of cooties!

↪ That said, if you actually manage to catch the eyes and heart of this childish liar, you must really be special!

↪ When Kokichi likes someone, it's like being held at gunpoint by a maniac who's gun is made out of cotton candy; harmless, but overwhelming and annoying.

↪ Contrary to popular belief, Kokichi does have a heart. He cares about his friends deeply, and although he doesn't show it, will do the craziest things for them, even if it ends with them despising him for doing so.

↪ That said, I don't imagine him with some mysterious, colder person. I also don't see him with someone who he'd view as a threat to his friends like Maki or someone as cutthroat and self-centered as Byakuya. I imagine him falling for someone more empathetic. Someone who's known him for some time. Who's maybe a bit shy or pours their heart out over the littlest things. Or, maybe someone who's simply kind and honest. Someone predictable, but down-to-earth and friendly, but I digress.

↪ Even with his crush, I don't see him pursuing it whether he was apart of the killing game or not. It's mostly because he fears it as it's a rather foreign topic that requires openness and honesty; two things he isn't comfortable giving to someone—even a close friend.

↪ That doesn't stop his body from reacting the way it does towards you, however! He can't help but yearn for attention at times no matter how much he fights, so I definitely see him in your face and never leaving you be sometimes.

↪ The way he treats you would be as different as two salt grains, but at the same time, as contrasting as his black and white scarf. He'll tease you as he does everyone else, he'll pick on you like he does with the others as well, and he's not above doing things that you may find cruel, but the level at which he takes it would be noticeably ( or possibly unnoticeably ) different from what it is with the others. Not so low that it's obvious and he looks like some simp who can't so much as tell you that you have lettuce in your teeth out of fear that it'll hurt your feelings, but it will never be as high as how he acts towards Maki or Kaito. Well, not unless you like to be talked to like that.

↪ That moves us to my second thing I see him doing which is indulge you. Similar to Miu, who gets off on degradation, he doesn't care for what gets you going really and he doesn't mind doing whatever if it makes you feel good. You like to be praised over the simplest things? He doesn't mind throwing out a cheesy comment randomly to fluster you and then immediately change the topic. You, for some reason, like it when he's a little mean? When he immediately claps back at something you say? He can do that. Anytime. Anywhere. And he will and then quickly follow up with his usual antics as if it never happened.

↪ But I'm getting ahead of myself. Realistically, I don't see him dating someone, but if he does then they'd have to be really, really special to him. Like someone special enough that his love for them outweighs his anxieties and fears of the worst happening. Someone who he's known for so long that his trust issues won't get the better of him when imagining a relationship with them.

↪ A relationship with him, though, wouldn't be as different as a friendship with him which isn't the best in some ways. He's still a teasing little shit who lies about even the littlest things and is constantly flipping between extreme emotions and downplaying them so significantly that you can't take them seriously.

↪ Don't expect to have any kind of heart to heart with this man. You could pour your heart out to him, tell him some deep ( and possibly dark ) secret about yourself or tell him about a thought or insecurity or incident about yourself that you haven't told even your most trusted companion and he will absolutely not return the favor. He's too used to keeping everything bottled up inside and hiding behind this facade of lies and trickery that showing even a little of his true colors makes him very uncomfortable.

↪ He isn't exactly affectionate. Kisses, hugs, holding hands.. Stuff like that usually only occurs when he's teasing you or trying to get a rise out of you. It's never a genuine action that'll stems from his desires and he'll make sure it never does.

↪ You can never tell what's going through his head even in his most 'vulnerable' moments—if you can even call them that. He's always changing, always saying the most absurd things, always saying the opposite of what he's thinking to ensure that you're thrown completely off his trail and can never read him. To put it simply, he's constantly putting iron barricades between you two.

↪ He can come off as heartless or emotionally tone deaf at times because of this. You could come crying to him or express a deep insecurity of his and it'd seem as though he's not taking you seriously or has completely brushed off your problems which can be seriously depressing and disheartening.

↪ That leads us to arguments, which always feels as if you're screaming at a clown. Kokichi is not one to let his true emotions get the better of him so 99% of your arguments will leave you even more frustrated and upset as when whatever made you argue first surface because it seems like everything you say is being taken as some joke or comedy act.

↪ What a relationship with him needs is time. A lot of it. Kokichi has grown up in an environment that has turned him into someone who physically can't let down his walls, who assumes the worst will happen to him or the people he cares about if he gets too close with someone he can't read like a book at all times ( and even people he can read like that ), someone who can be fighting an unimaginably tough battle—one so intense that it could drive anyone insane—and you'd never be able to tell due to how good he hides it. Time can chip away at all of that, albeit very slowly.

↪ With the right amount of patience, with the right amount of time and the right amount of energy and persistence from his partner, they'll make headway with him eventually. When they do, the change it'll cause will be as big as a baby ant, but it'll be a change nonetheless.

↪ He'll start mixing the tiniest, most insignificant levels of truths into his lies and his partner will have to accept that and let him know that, "Hey! I see that you're trying as hard as you can and I'll wait as long as needed for you to go further!"

↪ Don't try and force progress because it'll leave you being farther away from your goal. When he walks, you walk. When he tethers between taking that next step, you stay put until he decides what he'll do. If he goes backwards, you take a step back as well. That's the only way you're getting anywhere with him.

↪ And with all that effort, you'll get somewhere..eventually. ..Hopefully. I don't really know. When it comes to Kokichi, he could make you believe and feel as though you've made unimaginable progress only to do something completely left field that'll force the enormous gap between you two to become apparent.

↪ Basically what I'm saying is that he's more fragile than you'd imagine so be gentle with him! ..But don't let him catch onto it or else he'll panic and push you away out of fear of breaking what's already cracking apart. You need to be to tend to the glass that is his mind and body, caress it like you would a nasty bruise and don't ever put pressure on it, otherwise he'll shatter and you'll never be able to put him back together again ( nor will he let you try ).
