Okay I almost to Tower of Terror but chicken out when I realized I didn’t want to be dragged down. In honor of that I have a headcanon. Harrison Hightower is used to being alone constantly being tormented by the idol. Until one day when five people enter his dimension. They ask him if he’s hotel staff and he so offended by the question and acts like his usual arrogant self. But the guests especially the little girl still follow him around. One day Harrison tries to warn the people entering the elevator about the idol but he turns his back on them once ignore him. However he stunned when the little girl tries to help them.

Disney Villain Bracket
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
basically how this works is we have brackets a, b, and c. c is a tricky one, hopefully ill explain right
it’s basically a bracket and a half, and the villains in the half bracket will go across and meet in the middle, and the winner of that goes against the two villains on the bracket above
once we get to the middle two in a and b and have that vote, and once the double elimination in bracket c happens, the three villains will all go head to head… to head. it’ll be the three winners of each bracket in one final poll
am i explaining correctly? oh well, y’all will see what i mean when we get there
im sure a lot of y’all have opinions on how this was put together but keep in mind ive never done this before and i did my best. so
also! voting criteria is you picking your favorite of the villains in each poll. not the movies or shows or whatever they’re from, im talking about the characters themselves
i will be posting the polls on the left side of bracket A first, on Monday, April 17 at 12 PM CST! after that, i will post the left side of bracket B the following day at the same time. then the left side of bracket C the next day. the day after that, i will post the right side of bracket A, then B, then C. you get it

Unnamed Member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers
Very little information about this man is known. However, it is known that he was a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers and that he was a member the same time as Mary Oceaneer, Harrison Hightower III, Henry Mystic and Albert, R. Blauerhimmel, and Albert Falls as he appeared in a group portrait with them. As he first appeared in a portrait in Mystic Manor, it can also be assumed that he is a close associate of Lord Henry Mystic. He is not associated with any attraction as of yet, though it can be deduced from his coat and hat that he explores cold areas and is possibly even a mountaineer.

Thunder Mesa Canon Characters
Follow up to my previous Thunder Mesa ‘lore’ post.
Sources are: my personal experience, cast members, ‘urban/park’ legends that spread during the years, the database of the Italian website MondoDisneyland.it and Phantom Manor Legends.
Hoping I won’t forget anybody... (if I do, please let me know!) LET’S BEGIN!
The Ravenswoods:
Henry: one of the founding fathers of Thunder Mesa, owner of the Big Thunder Mountain Mining. Co and of the beautiful Victorian Manor on Boot Hill.
Tumblr media
Martha: Henry’s wife. Very little is known about her beside the fact that her marriage wasn’t exactly a happy one.
Mélanie: Henry and Martha’s daughter and heiress of her father’s fortune. It is said the was one of the prettiest girls in town, had a lovely singing voice and many, unfortunate suitors.
Tumblr media
The Jones:
(they’re either siblings or husband and wife, unclear)
Jasper: The Ravenswood’s estate butler and man-servant.
Anna: The Ravenswood’s estate chambermaid. She was possibly one of Henry Ravenswood’s lovers.
Deceased citizens/ghosts that now reside in the Manor:
Madame Leota: a gypsy fortuneteller who offered her services to the people of Thunder Mesa. After her death she is tasked to summon other spirits and demons to the "ghostly ball" that's held in the manor.
The Phantom: A mysterious entity that torments Mélanie in the Manor. The 2019 Refurbishment of the attraction confirmed his identity as Henry Ravenswood, returned from the dead to prevent his daughter from marrying a man not worthy of her.
Tumblr media
Goliath: Undead dog that appears alongside the Phantom in one of the most notoriously scary scenes in the attraction. In the original script, he belonged to Henry’s brother, Arthur Ravenswood. In the current storyline Goliath is heavily implied to be Henry’s pet and his loyal companion even in death.
Tumblr media
Valentin the Boneless/Le Desosé: a man from Thunder Mesa whose body and spirit were crushed, either physically or metaphorically... or both.
Mary Murphy: Frank Ballard’s wife.
Frank Ballard: Mary Murphy’s husband.
Ma Ballard: Frank Ballard’s mother. Clearly didn’t approve of her son’s marriage to Mrs.Murphy. Her gravestone reads ‘over my dead body’.
Tumblr media
B. Arnold: his occupation is unknown. His gravestone reads ‘Cold Is My Bed - But Oh, I Love It - For Colder Are My Friends Above It.’
Leadfoot Fred: a cowboy and gunslinger, his adversary made him ‘dance’ until he was hit in the legs (at least 3 shots per leg) and finished off.
“Shorty” Smith: nothing is know about them except that they died in 1862
Red Hot Harry: probably a gunslinger like Leadfoot Fred. Like him, he wasn’t fast enough.
Dakota Dick: somebody really REALLY hard to kill. According to their tombstone, they were hanged October 17th, 1867, shot January 18th, 1868, stabbed December 18th, 1868, poisoned May 21st, 1869 and are ready to come back for more.
Jaques Shrillman: a terrible musician, ‘lynched by a bunch of music lovers‘.
Peg Leg McBrogue: an outlaw that committed robberies on riverboats. ‘Walked the plank, and sank’.
Nameless Hunter: killed by a bear. (See below.)
Pet Cemetery:
A squirrel, a cougar and a bear also rest in Boot Hill... somehow. Their graves imply that they all became the bear’s food at some point. An unfortunate Hunter also met the same fate.
Mélanie’s Suitors:
Rowan D.Falls: former captain of the ‘Mark Twain’ Steamboat and one of Mélanie's suitors, died falling off a tall waterfall. He is possibly related to Dr. Albert Falls, a member of S.E.A the Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
Tumblr media
Ignatus "Iggy" Knight: former owner of a dynamite manufacture and one of Mélanie's suitors.  He died in an explosion inside Big Thunder Mountain’s mine.
Tumblr media
Barry Claude: oil-field master and one of Mélanie's suitors. He was mauled by a bear.
Tumblr media
Sawyer Bottom: owner of the local sawmill. Suffered the most suspicious death of all the suitors: tied to a log and bifurcated within his own sawmill.
Tumblr media
The Townsfolk:
William Ketchum: current sheriff of Thunder Mesa
Artemus L. Hector (current Mayor of Thunder Mesa) and his wife: [photo from Phantom Manor Legends]
Tumblr media
James Collins: Photographer and inventor of the Spectral Camera.
J. Nutterville: undertaker and coffin maker, he takes care of Boot Hill and its graves. It is unclear if he’s still alive or a ghost himself but I’m placing him in this category because he appears from time to time near Phantom Manor and during special events to take the guests’ ‘measures’ and get their coffins ready.
Tumblr media
Diamond Lil: the owner of the Lucky Nugget Saloon.
Lavinia ???: a beautiful dancer who worked at the Lucky Nugget Saloon. Many men were in love with her and one of the locomotives of Big Thunder Mountain bears her name.
Pierre Paradis: Diamond Lil’s French fiancee.
Jebediah Rose: Thunder Mesa’s blacksmith. He was in love with the Lucky Nugget dancer Lavinia but she did not love him back.
Lavinia Rose: Jebediah’s daughter, named after his unrequited love.
Milo ‘One Eye’ Jones: a robber who made the mistake of stealing from Big Thunder Mountain Mining Co. and an even bigger one when he thought it was a good idea to hide from the law in the very manor built by the founder of the company he just robbed. It is possible that he is related to the Jones who once worked for the Ravenswoods.
Tumblr media
The Thunder Mesa Councilmen have... interesting names such as I.M. Chikin and I.L.B Bach.
The Caretaker: Phantom Manor’s equivalent to the Haunted Mansion’s groundskeeper.
Tumblr media
EXTRAS: Fan Character, deleted characters and those who may or may not be involved but it’s just fun to think they are:
Jake ‘Lockart’ Evans: Formerly the only known suitor of Mélanie. A fan favorite that, despite not having been completely de-canonized by the refurbishment, is not a physical presence in the Manor anymore. The name was never official but the fandom as a whole still calls him Jake ;)
Barnabas T. Bullion: The founder and owner of the Thunder Mountain Mining Co. according to the 2013 refurbished queue line in WDW Orlando. Assuming that we’re talking about the same company that Henry Ravenswood founded, it is possible that Bullion took over 20 years after Henry’s death and re-built the company under a new image to erase its dark history. In the Big Thunder Mountain Marvel Comics, he is depicted as a better person and father to his daughter Abigail than Ravenswood ever was to Mélanie, drawing a parallel between the two.
Tumblr media
Arthur Ravenswood: Henry’s younger brother in the original script for the ride.
Gabrielle Ravenswood: Arthur’s wife in the original script.
Melanie's cousin: One of the letters that could be found on a table inside Phantom Manor before the refurbishment hinted at a relationship between Mélanie and a cousin of hers. It wasn’t clear if this was an arranged marriage or a clandestine affair.
Henry's repudiated son: The same letters also introduce us to Henry’s firstborn (often nicknamed Elias or Alan by the fandom) who’s writing to his father to let him know that he is -once again- out of money.
S.E.A investigators: the in-universe explanation for the long shut down of Phantom Manor is an investigation conducted by the local authorities with the help of groups of ‘explorers and adventurers’ that came from the East. Fans speculate that these explorers may be part of S.E.A, a secret society around which Tokyo Disney SEA’s park lore is built. If one of Mélanie’s suitors is indeed a member of Dr.Albert Falls family, this could explain why the S.E.A may have an interest in Phantom Manor and the strange happenings surrounding it. S.E.A members are mostly depicted as positive characters, explorers and archeologists respectful of the land and cultures they get in contact with, but even within their ranks there are some rotten apples. A notable example is Harrison Hightower III who is rumored to be related with George Hightower, previous owner of the Haunted Mansion (both in California and Orlando) and one of Constance Hatchaway’s husbands.

ooooohhhh
this webpage here has a transcription of a newspaper article from the Tower of Terror queue about Hightower’s Congo expedition when he found Shiriki Utundu. It’s about what you’d expect: Hightower is a Big Racist who doesn’t mind the death of 2/3 of his expedition (and likely countless natives) as long as he gets the goods.

Far more eerie than any pop-up ghoul or murderous bride in the attic was the quiet that had taken over the Magic Kingdom. Beauregard couldn't even compare it to a typical midnight. Midnight still had a handful of Cast Members tending to all of those technical tasks that magic was too confused about to bother with. Midnight could still have the distant wheezes and rumbles of traffic. It was as if the world had halted. If he hadn't noticed a squirrel digging in the front yard cemetery, he would have believed time was frozen.
The grandfather clock in the hall chimed, announcing it was two p.m. Two p.m. and the park was deserted.
With a sigh that was more of a groan, he pushed himself up out of his chair and headed... elsewhere. It didn't matter where. He needed a distraction from the depressing lack of mortal guests. For several days now, (he'd lost count), there'd been no screams, no giggles, and--worst of all-- no sympathetic vibrations from lively visitors. It was making all of the ghosts of the Haunted Mansion restless.
As he wandered further down one dark hall and then the next, a curious scent wafted to his nostrils. It was sweet, pleasant, and had a strong hint of ginger. He followed it along until it brought him to the kitchen.
Inside, the former Gracey coachman/ fellow happy haunt/ regular graveyard tea party participant Dustin T. Dust was busy taking out his second tray of cookies from the oven. It was then placed to cool on a table that had not only the first tray of cookies, but a dozen blueberry muffins. And now he was returning to a mixing bowl to stir up more batter.
Beauregard cleared his throat. "Dustin..."
"Gah!" Dustin yelped, nearly dropping his bowl and fumbling it to safety. "It's just you, sir," he said with a nervous chuckle. He set the batter aside so he could adjust his glasses.
"Beau," Beauregard corrected. "No 'sir's for me." Hands behind his back, he mosied over to the table to get a closer look at the treats.
"'S hard not to call the great Ghost Host 'sir.'" Dustin had gone back to stirring. The big bowl seemed too hefty for his wiry frame, but not only was he holding it up just fine, he was also incorporating some dance steps as he moved about the kitchen.
"Oh please." Beauregard realized he needed to tuck his noose under his waistcoat lest it brush against the muffins, and quickly did so. "We used to work together as servants in this household." He frowned. "It's not as if I get to do much ghost hosting now, anyway, what with..." He trailed off, looking up to meet the other man's gaze.
Dustin shared his look of worry for a moment, but then put on a smile. "Things will be right as rain soon, sir, er, Beau. The mortals just need to be extra cautious." Another tray had already been set up, and he was scooping out small dollops of what would soon be snickerdoodles. While those were cooking, he turned his attention on the ginger cat shaped cookies that had finished cooling, and began decorating them.
Beauregard watched him add tiny chocolate sliver whiskers. "What exactly are you doing, Dustin? With all this, I mean?"
"Well, when there's nothing to do, but I'm still anxious, I get to stress baking... So long as the cook isn't around. She never liked me in the kitchen. Said I smelled like horses." His mouth twisted into intense concentration, tip of his tongue sticking out just past his buck teeth. Those tiny whiskers were always tricky.
"I shouldn't be anxious, really," he went on. "We can't get sick, not with mortal illnesses, anyway. Maybe I'm just jittery from the lack of guests." Half the cats now had whiskers, he realized proudly. "Mum and dad were bakers. They had a little shop back home in London. It's where I learned it..."
As Dustin went on, something dawned on Beau, and he straightened up with a strange look of clarity on his face. "We can't catch it..."
Dustin stopped mid autobiography. "No. We're dead."
"We're dead... and we have enough baked goods to fill a burial plot..."
"That's a rather morbid measurement..."
Beau grinned. "Dustin, there's a whole kingdom full of our neighbors, shut indoors, worried, likely bored to tears!"
Dustin countered with a smile of his own. "Neighbors who would welcome a gift basket and a friendly visit. Brilliant, sir! See, you're still an excellent host."
"Ghost Host," Beau corrected, grabbing an apron for himself. "Let's see how many more treats we can make by dusk, and then I'll ask if Dorian has any flowers he'd be willing to part with."
The two quickly got to work.
Later that night, a hearse, pulled by an invisible horse, rolled through the streets of the Magic Kingdom. At the sound of clomping hooves, residents of the park would pull back their curtains to peek out, wondering if this was some tasteless joke. Moments later, they'd find it was actually a tasty greeting when either the Ghost Host, Master Gracey, or the coachman would come knocking on their door bearing a basket full of sweets and flowers.
It didn't end at the Magic Kingdom, either. The ghosts were sure to deliver baskets to the Imagination Institute, much to the delight of Figment. (Dr. Channing was quick to point out that the little dragon really didn't need any extra sugar in his hyperactive system, thank you very much.) They stopped at Elsa's ice palace, had one basket just straight up snatched by a flock of seagulls screaming "MINE!", and quietly left a gift for the yeti at Mt. Everest. One basket was flung into the elevator shaft of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, because the spirits knew better than to directly engage the Twilight Zone lest they get trapped, too. Harrison Hightower III tried to trade a basket for the Shiriki Utundu, which the ghosts explained wasn't necessary, and they fled before he could he could attempt to leave the idol with them. Henry Mystic and Albert got plenty of banana bread to share.
All in all, it was a very long but very rewarding night.
By the time they had returned to the mansion, a note was waiting for them on the door. Dorian plucked it up, and read it out loud:
Dear ghosts of the Haunted Mansion,
When times are frightful, it's easy to get swept up in the uncertainty, and completely forget that everyone around you is trying to cope, too. Simple acts of kindness-- such as yours-- ground us, unite us, and remind us all to never lose our empathy and compassion. Thank you.
We're so proud to call you 'family.' See ya real soon!
-Mickey and Minnie Mouse
All three ghosts looked at the letter a moment longer, before sharing glances with one another.
"You know," Dorian began slowly. "I bet I could make some lovely wreaths... and flower crowns, and we could hand those out this weekend..."
"We could pack a lot of books in that hearse," suggested Beauregard. "Our library is well stocked, after all..."
"I bet I could convince the graveyard band to perform in the streets, give people a concert right outside their windows," said Dustin.
And thus one idea led to another, enough to bring a little joy to every day the parks were closed.

Harrison Hightower III
Harrison Hightower III is the main character featured in Tokyo DisneySea’s Tower of Terror. He is based on the likeness of Imagineer Joe Rohde, who also played him in the Tower of Terror preshow.
Hightower was born into money in 1835 in New York, but attended boarding school in England. Through his adult years, he used his money and influence to get what he wanted in life and those things, more often than not, happened to be artefacts from other cultures and countries. He exploited native people, took their treasures and kept them on display in the Hightower Hotel, his home. He would eventually gain membership into the Society of Explorers and Adventurers and wrote two books for them, on display at the Skipper Canteen; Everest Expedition: The Search For The Yeti and MINE!
While on a trip to the Congo, Hightower came across the Mtundu tribe and fell in love with their idol, the Shiriki Utundu, declaring that he had to have it for his collection. He tried to convince the head of the tribe to sell it to him, but the head of the tribe refused. Hightower simply stole the idol while the tribe did nothing to stop him. On the afternoon of December 31st 1899, Hightower unveiled the Shiriki Utundu idol at the Hightower Hotel in a press conference to boast about it. With the press conference a success, Hightower decided to retire to his penthouse apartment and took the idol up with him. Before he entered his elevator, Hightower’s valet, Mr Smelding, warned him to respect the idol, which was rumoured to be cursed. Hightower simply laughed and extinguished his cigar on the idol’s head, angering it. When the clock struck midnight on January 1st 1900, inside the elevator, the eyes of the Shiriki Utundu glowed green and the elevator plunged down into oblivion, taking Hightower down with it.
The Hightower Hotel gained a reputation for being haunted after that and nobody would go near it until the New York Preservation Society began to run tours. When guests board the elevators, they witness what happened to Harrison Hightower that fateful night.
In addition to The Tower of Terror, Harrison Hightower appears in a group portrait at Mystic Manor. There is also an oar of his on display at the Tropical Hideaway from his 1872 expedition on the Yangtze River. It is possible he is related to George Hightower, one of the grooms of Constance Hatchaway, the black widow bride of the Haunted Mansion.

{ claire holt, cis woman, she/her } have you heard that ( constance hatchaway ) from ( the haunted mansion ) appeared in town?  i know, i can’t believe it either.  she is ( 28 ) years old and are a ( socialite ).  I’ve heard that she has a tendency to be ( flirtatious & charming ) and ( manipulative & materialistic ), and they have ( all ) of their old memories.
tw: death & murder mention under the cut
constance hatchaway, otherwise known as the black widow bride, is one of the 999 happy haunts that live in what is now known as gracey manor.  she’s mostly made a home for herself in the attic of the mansion.
she was a beautiful woman who sought wealth and luxury, so she was determined to marry into wealth by any means necessary.  in fact, she did this five times.
but, marry these men wasn’t all that she did.  as soon as their honeymoon ended, constance’s husbands all seemed to die under “mysterious circumstances.”  really, constance beheaded all of them with her trademark axe, taking their wealth and moving on to her next victim.
her victims were:
ambrose harper: the naive but good intentioned son of successful farmers (married in 1869),
frank banks: an eastern banker and community pillar (married in 1872)
the marquis de doome: a foreign diplomat with a military past (married in 1874)
reginald caine: a celebrated railroad baron, gambler and world renowned gourmand (married in 1875)
george hightower a (possible) relative of the wealthy hotel owner/explorer harrison hightower III (married in 1877)
the aforementioned george was, at the time, the owner of what would one day become gracey manor, and once she disposed of him, constance decided that she was satisfied with everything she collected and lived out the rest of her days in luxury.  she died of old age in the mansion, and a portrait of her is seen in the stretching room, sitting on top of george’s grave as an old woman
when she died, her ghost took the form of her in her prime: her twenties.  after all, this was when she was happiest, in a twisted sense, so it makes sense for her to come back in a younger form.
now, in ivywood, she’s ecstatic to not only be alive again, but to still be this young.  she retained her riches during the trip, so she’s not in the market to kill anyone thankfully.  she’s just having a good time and enjoying her youth in a new time period.
