good god do not go on fucking twt rn, people are looking through past tommy and wilbur clips and speculating that tommy was abused as well (whether he was or not is not important right now, don't speculate about his personal life when he's not even online to correct anyone, for the love of god can we focus on shelby), or pushing phil, tommy, jack, charlie, quackity, etc. to say something asap as if they're not probably processing the fact that one of their very good friends has been an abusive piece of shit this entire time.
ALSO (this is not defending him this is just something i've seen that is pissing me off) i've seen people saying he was a creep for making a lot of friends who are much younger than him, like teenagers. but a) phil has made friends with these same people and no one is getting pissed at him, b) being friends with people who are younger than you (YES including in their teens while you are an adult) is not a morally terrible thing, you can be friends with people who are younger than you and not be a creep, c) CALLING HIM A "CLOSET PEDOPHILE" FOR BEFRIENDING YOUNGER MEN IS JUST TAKING EYES OFF OF SHELBY AND TRYING TO PUT IT ON THE YOUNGER MALE CCS YOU ENJOY. for the love of god stop focusing on the male streamers who haven't even had a chance to say something yet and focus on SUPPORTING SHELBY. THE VICTIM.

slash did disrespect the dead but at least he's not leaving the bodies out to rot like a spectacle for all to see. HORRENDOUSLY low bar, i know, but ... eugh
Like... he left Misty's corpse out there for at least a day, maybe longer. Wind Runner and Gorse HAPPENED to find it, and that lead to the Bumble death scene. Clear Sky disrespecting the dead was a relevant plot point.
But the team doesn't remember their own books so they've just totally forgotten that!

Steddie 5 + 1 “I love you”
The first time he said it Steve froze. They were watching a movie, the rest of the party spread around Steve’s living room as if they lived there. Robin and Nancy sat side by side on one end of the couch, so close they were basically sharing a cushion. Steve and Eddie sat on the other end. Eddie’s arm was thrown across the back of the couch and Steve tucked himself under it. His head laid on Eddies chest while he played with the rings on his other hand. Dustin sat on the floor Infront of them, leaning back on Eddie’s legs and occasionally tilting his head back to comment on the movie and make sure they were paying attention. They were a little over an hour into the movie when Eddie slid his fingers into Steve’s hair, brought his lips to his ear and softly whispered to him.
“I love you.”
Steve felt like the air had been punched out of his lungs as he stared wide eyed at Eddie. He had said the words so effortlessly. As if they’d said those words a million times before. As if he’d never had his entire world view shattered by those three words. And he hadn’t. He’d never had someone look into his eyes and tell him his love was bullshit. He had no fears sharing how he felt because he’d never been broken so thoroughly. The way Steve had been broken. Steve opened his mouth, wanting to say the words but he was scared. So fucking scared. It wasn’t that he didn’t love Eddie. He did. He loved Eddie more than he had ever loved anything else in his life. He loved Eddie so much it hurt. But he couldn’t say it. He couldn’t hand his heart over on a silver platter again just to have it thrown back in his face. Because it would. Eddie would get tired of him eventually. Everyone does. . . . The second time he said it, Steve cried. It was two weeks after the movie and Steve and Robin were re-shelving returns on a slow Tuesday afternoon. Eddie had driven Robin after school and decided to hang out before band practice. He was trailing behind them as they walked through the aisles, commenting on the occasional movie, and doing his best to distract Steve from his work.  After every third movie he would slip a finger in Steve’s belt loop and pull him in for a soft kiss, leaving Steve with a soft smile every time despite Robin’s constant gagging. If he started shelving faster so he could get his kiss faster, well that was nobody’s business but his own.
“Ugh don’t you have anything better to do than being gross with the Dingus?” Eddie chuckled softly leaning forward into Robin’s space.
“What’s a matter Birdie? Jealous of Stevie and I’s happiness?” Robin rolled her eyes pushing Eddie back with a finger to his forehead.
“I’m not jealous idiot. I’m happy for you guys really. I would just be happier if you stopped distracting Dingus so he can actually work.”
“What are you talking about? I’m encouraging him! Rewarding him for his hard work!”
“Don’t think I haven’t noticed every ‘reward’ is getting longer and longer! I know you! One more ‘reward’ and you’re going to be dragging him to the backroom!” Steve shook his head at the two reaching for another return before Eddie’s hand stopped him. He laced their fingers together and tugged at his arm.
“Great idea Birdie, why didn’t I think of that? Come on baby let’s get out of Robbie’s hair.” He started walking backwards leading Steve by the hand. Steve couldn’t stop the grin from stretching across his face, but he shook his head and dropped Eddie’s hand.
“You have to leave Eds.” A pout crossed his face and Steve stepped forward, kissing him softly. “You’re gonna be late for practice if you don’t leave now.” Steve lifted his wrist and showed Eddie his watch, watching his boyfriend’s eyes get wide.
“Shit! Gareth’s gonna kill me.” He lurched forward, kissing Steve soundly, before turning on his heel and running to the door. “Bye Birdie! Bye baby, I love you!”
Steve didn’t notice the tears running down his face until Robin softly brushed them away. He tore his eyes from the door and met her piercing gaze for a second before completely crumbling to the ground. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and lowered herself with him, running her fingers through his hair and gently rocking him.
“I can’t say it.” It’s barely a whisper and Steve’s not even sure Robin heard him until she tightens his hold on him.
“Just because you can’t say it doesn’t mean he doesn’t know you feel it. He loves you, Steve. He doesn’t need you to say the words to know you love him.” A sob wrenches itself from his chest and he grips her shirt tight.
“What if he changes his mind? Everyone always changes their mind.”
“I didn’t.”
“You will.”
.
. . They were alone the third time he said it. They were sitting on the couch in the trailer. Wayne had just left for work and Eddie decided he wanted to show Steve the old photo album Wayne kept tucked away in his room. They flipped through photo after photo of twelve-year-old Eddie with a shaved head and a smattering of bruises across his face, thirteen-year-old Eddie with a guitar twice his size, fourteen-year-old Eddie with shaggy curls and wide dimpled smiles, smiles that dimmed as the pictures got more recent.
“What about this one?” Steve pointed to a picture featuring Eddie side by side with a little girl. Their arms were thrown across each other’s shoulders and wide dimpled smiles covered both their faces. The little girl had a mess of curly strawberry blonde hair and barely came up to Eddie’s shoulder.
“I don’t remember her name, but she was being picked on by some assholes at the park. I found a piece of rope in the grass and threw it at the pricks and yelled snake. They took off running to their prissy moms and the moms dragged them off yelling about never coming back to that hazard of a park. The girl went to the rope, still thinking it was a snake mind you, and started cooing to it talking about how stupid those kids were to be afraid of such a precious baby. I don’t really remember much after that, but I begged Wayne to take a picture of us before her mom made her leave.” A soft smile took over his features as he told the story. Steve watched him with adoration in his eyes.
“You’ve been looking out for lost sheep for a long time, haven’t you?” Eddie shrugged flipping to the next page.
“As long as I can remember yeah. Somebody has to do it.” He pointed to another picture. “I don’t remember his name either, but he was the first boy I ever loved. Was my first kiss too. I was playing on the monkey bars and fell and scraped up my knees. He came over and pulled out a box of Band-Aids with little stars on them.” He pointed to a barely visible blue spot at the bottom of the picture. “He patched me up and declared the monkey bars ‘much too dangerous for someone so pretty’ and I immediately fell in love with him. I was pretty easy back then.” He chuckled and shook his head. “After that he asked me if I wanted to play mom and dad. Even let me be the dad and everything. Wayne had to literally drag me away when it started to get dark out. I started crying because I didn’t think I’d ever see the boy again then he ran up to me and kissed me said –“
“Don’t worry we’ll see each other again and then we’ll get married and have a bunch of babies. We’ll be the best mom and dad ever.” Eddie jerked his head up, staring at Steve with wide eyes.
“How did you-?”
“I didn’t realize it was you. I looked for you everywhere. Asked my dad if he could track you down. When he asked why I wanted to find you so bad I told it was because I planned to marry you.” Steve took in a shaky breath and wrapped his arms around himself, hugging tightly. “He uh- he didn’t like that. Tried to beat the gay out of me.” He chuckled darkly, “Guess it didn’t work huh?”
“Stevie.” Eddie reached out hesitantly, softly placing his hand on Steve’s shoulder. “Baby that’s not okay.” Steve shrugged, curling in on himself tighter.
“Not like it was the only time. Just uh- just the first time.” Eddie’s had rubbed soothing circles into his shoulder.
“How old were you?” Steve looked and the picture and hummed.
“That was summer right? So, 9 almost 10.” He shrugged reaching across and flipping to the next page. Eddie shook his head and moved the album to the coffee table, turning to fully face Steve. He softly removed Steve’s arms from around himself and took his hands in his own.
“Sweetheart you didn’t deserve that, okay?” Steve shrugged again. “No, I need you to say it. That wasn’t okay and you didn’t deserve it. Any of it. Can you say that for me Angel?” Tears slowly down Steve’s face and he quickly wiped them away with his shoulder. He shook his head and looked down and their hands.
“It wasn’t okay.” He whispered softly.
“And?” Eddie tilted his chin up and cupped his cheek. Steve took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“And I didn’t deserve it.” The words burn as they leave his mouth, but the smile that covers Eddie’s face makes the burn worth it.
“No, you didn’t Sweet Boy. You deserve nothing but love and happiness and I plan to give you that if you’ll let me. I love you so much.” More tears rolled down Steve’s face as he shook his head.
“I can’t –“
“Shh, I know my love. I don’t need to hear you say it. I know how you feel and that’s enough for me. I don’t care if you never say it baby, I’m not going anywhere either way.” He pulled Steve into his arms and ran his fingers through his hair, tugging lightly at the roots. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Maybe one day Steve would be able to believe him.
. . . The next time he said it was a bad day. They were siting on Steve’s couch watching a movie when his parents made a surprise appearance.
“Steven, a word please.” Steve swallowed thickly as he extracted himself from the couch and followed his parents into the kitchen. He braced himself, knowing where this is going. “Can I ask why you thought it was okay to bring a murderer into my house?”
“He’s not a murderer.” His father shook his head slamming his hand on the counter causing Steve to flinch back.
“Don’t treat my like I’m stupid Steven! I saw the news! I know what he was accused of and I don’t appreciate you slandering our name by being seen with trailer trash!”
“He didn’t do anything wrong! He was falsely accused and frankly he’s ten times the man you’ll ever be!” His father took a step towards him.
“I suggest you watch your tone when you’re talking to me. I don’t want you talking to him again do you understand? This friendship of yours needs to end. Now.”
“No.” His father clinched his jaw stepping forward again, but Steve held his ground.
“What did you say to me?”
“I said no. And he’s not my friend. He’s my boyfriend.” He’d never seen his father’s face such a deep shade of red before. He knew he probably shouldn’t have said that, but he was tired of letting his father walk all over him. He was tired of being scared.
“Excuse me?”
“He’s my boyfriend! We’re dating! We’re fucking! We’re gay! Surprise!” The sound of the slap echoed through the room and before he could react, he was being pulled behind Eddie.
“Don’t you fucking touch him.” Eddie’s eyes were crazy as he pushed Mr. Harington back a step. “If you ever touch him again, I swear to god I will kill you. You saw the news, I did it once and I won’t hesitate for a second to do it again.” His father’s eyes grew wider as he took another step back.
“Get out of my house. Both of you. And don’t bother coming back Steven. You’re no longer a son of mine.” He snarled.
“Gladly. C’mon Stevie lets go.” Eddie turned to Steve, grabbing his hand and pulling him out the door and to Steve’s car. He gently pulled the keys from Steve’s pocket and steered him to the passenger seat before moving to the drivers seat himself. “Steve.” It was barely a whisper and Steve turned his head to meet Eddies eyes. “Baby talk to me.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Hey no.” Eddie reached across and squeezed Steve’s hands in his own. “You have nothing to apologize for. C’mon lets go back to the trailer. Tomorrow Robin, Nancy, Johnathan, and I will come back and get your stuff okay.” Steve nodded sniffling softly.
“Thank you.” Eddie brushed the tears from his cheeks.
“Of course baby. I love you.” He kissed Steve gently before pulling away and starting the car.
Steve stared out the window as he watched the neighborhood he used to call home pass by. . . . Steve was watching Eddie and the kids play D&D in the Wheelers basement with Nancy the next time he said it.
“A massive crash fills the corridor followed by the sound of rocks clashing against the ground. Sounds of snarling and teeth gnashing grow louder and louder as shadows flicker closer and closer in the torchlight.”
“They can only come through the door one at a time! I say we form a wall and pick them off as they come through! Will you stay back and ready your spells!” Lucas flailed his arms wildly towards Mike and Dustin. They both nodded with looks of determination on their faces.
“The first beast appears in the doorway. It’s face long and filled with snarling teeth and piercing red eyes. It stands the same height as a grown man, seemingly nonthreatening until you take in the massive spear in its hands. As the beast steps in the room Will the Wise hears a loud slam from behind him.”
“I spin around and ask, who’s there?”
“The door in the back of the room is broken off its hinges. Standing in the doorway, holding a mace in each paw, is the biggest, ugliest wererat you've ever seen. Hundreds of red eyes shine through the darkness behind him. He licks his ragged teeth with hunger and takes another step into the room.”
“Shit! We’re surrounded!” Dustin wailed as he grabbed his head, eye’s widening as he turned to Mike. “Wererats! Oh god I forgot how to kill wererats!” Mike’s eyes widened back at Dustin.
“What do you mean you forgot! Lucas do you remember?”
“No man! We haven’t had wererats in ages! Will?”
“I- I don’t know. I can try casting a spell on it?”
“Yeah, try that!”
“No wait! What if that doesn’t work! You’ll just waste a spell slot!”
“Yeah but -!”
“Wait, aren’t wererats killed with silver? You have a silver sword don’t you Wheeler?” The room fell to silence as everyone turned wide eyed towards the couch. Steve glanced up from the magazine he was reading and furrowed his brow. “What do you not have a silver sword?”
“How did you-?”
“Stevie, baby, I love you so fucking much. Little Wheeler what’s your move?” White noise filled Steve’s ears as chaos ensued around the table. A hand lightly grabbed Steve’s wrist and the next thing he knew he was standing in the Wheelers small bathroom. Nancy stood in front of him with furrowed brows and concern across her features.
“Steve?” He blinked again focusing on Nancy. She raised her hand and lightly touched his cheek, wiping away tears he didn’t realize had fallen. “Why are you crying?” Steve’s eyes fell to the ground as he took a shaky breath.
“I’m scared.” It came out as a whisper and Nancy’s frown deepened.
“Why are you scared?”
“I don’t – I can’t – I,” Steve swallowed around the lump in his throat, sniffling softly. “What if he changes his mind? What if he leaves? I can’t – I can’t do that again.”
“Oh Steve.” Nancy stepped closer and twisted her arms around him, resting her head against his chest. “Steve I’m so so sorry. I shouldn’t have said the things I said to you.”
“It’s okay.” Steve shrugged. Nancy pulled back throwing her hands in the air.
“Yes it is! It’s my fault, it’s your parents’ fault, it’s fucking Tommy H and Carol’s fault! It’s everybody that ever has ever hurt you’s fault and it’s not fair! You love so strongly and all you ever get in return is hurt! It’s not fair!”
“Nance – “
“No! It’s not fair! Everyone you’ve ever loved has hurt you and now your messed up! Now you expect everyone to leave and it sucks! It fucking sucks! Eddie loves you so much. More than I’ve ever seen anyone love another person and you can’t see that because of how much I hurt you! I’m never going to make it up to you and I am so sorry Steve. I’m sorry.” Steve steps closer and softly pulls her into a hug. He places a soft kiss to the top of her head.
“You need to stop blaming yourself Nance. It’s not your fault I’m fucked in the head. I mean yeah you definitely didn’t help but you didn’t cause this.” He paused, swallowing thickly. “You really think he loves me? Like truly.” She pulls away, moving her hands to his shoulders.
“He loves you, Steve. And I don’t think he’s ever going to stop.” Steve smiled as tears rolled freely down his face.
“Yeah,” he laughed brokenly, “yeah I love him too.” . . .
+1 The day after Steve’s talk with Nancy he set to work. He cooked Eddie’s favorite meal and desert. He set the kitchen table with the fancy shit Wayne said his mother gave him and lit candles throughout the room. He put on a soft yellow sweater he knew Eddie loved and the jeans that hugged his butt in all the right places. He sat on the couch watching the clock tick by ever so slowly. Just 5 more minutes until Eddie said he’d be here and for once Steve wasn’t freaking out. He was going to tell him. He was finally going to tell Eddie he loved him too. He just had to wait for the perfect opportunity. 7 o’clock on the dot the tell tail sounds of Eddie’s van filled the silence and Steve stood abruptly. Wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans he moved to stand in the entryway while he waited for Eddie to make his way inside. The door swung open quickly slamming into the wall behind in and swinging back. Steve flinched slightly at the sound but smiled as Eddie’s wild head of hair appeared a second later.
“Shit I always forget how much easier that is to open than the old trailer door. Hi baby!” He stepped forward quickly and softly kissed Steve, sliding his hands to Steve’s hips and around firmly squeezing his ass. “Mm missed you.” He pulled away with a grin moving back and pulling off his shoes.
“I missed you too. How was your day?”
“Ugh awful. Someone brought in a real piece of shit. Took all day to get the engine to finally turn over. Gonna have to work on it more tomorrow. How was your day baby?” Steve shrugged, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the dining room.
“It was okay. I got off early so I decided to make us dinner. I hope you don’t mind.” As they stepped into the room Eddie’s eyes lit up as he took in the scene in front of him. He paused turning to Steve with a look of awe.
“What’s all this for?” Steve shrugged stepping forward and pulling out Eddie’s chair.
“I dunno. Just thought I’d do something special.”
“It’s perfect sweetheart. Thank you.” They ate in comfortable silence, occasionally making comments about the food. After, Steve pushed back his chair, grabbing their plates and heading to the kitchen.
“I’ll be right back with desert.” Eddie grabbed his wrist as he reached for his plate and softly pulled Steve closer, scooting his chair back so he could guide him into his lap. He leaned forward and softly kissed Steve’s neck. “Ed’s, the desert.” Steve sighed.
“Mm maybe I want you to be my desert.” He slid his hand along Steve’s thigh, biting his neck gently.
“But I made brownies.” Steve made no move to pull away, tilting his head to give Eddie more access. “Later. Just want you.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. Always.” Steve sniffled and Eddie pulled away eyes wide. “Stevie what’s wrong? What did I do? I’m sorry baby. C’mon let’s have brownies.” Steve shook his head gently grabbing Eddie’s face.
“I love you.” Eddie’s breath caught in his throat as he stared wide eyed at Steve. Now that he’d said it it was like a dam had burst. “I love you so much and I’m sorry it took me so long to say it, but I do. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love – “ Eddie leaned forward, effectively cutting him off with a searing kiss.
“I love you too Steve.” A massive smile stretched across both of their faces and Steve kissed him again.
“I love you.” A kiss.
“I love you.” Another kiss.
Steve couldn’t believe how lucky he was. He didn’t know if they would last forever, or even for another year, but for the first time Steve didn’t feel scared. He knew he loved Eddie and he knew Eddie loved him and that was good enough for him.

nothing makes me block someone faster than them writing paragraphs about how much they hate odo in the tags on my posts about him
#tbh i feel like most ppl who hate him that much just severely misunderstand him#they just go ''ew he's a cop'' and refuse to accept that he's a nuanced character with trauma and regrets and a conscience#who was abused and manipulated and raised in a violent environment surrounded by ppl who think he's a freak#and was never taught how to handle his emotions in a healthy way. never felt like he was worthy of love#he's deeply flawed and he's done horrible things in the past but it haunts him. he hates himself for it#i truly don't believe he's a bad person. he was just forced into unfortunate circumstances#he's emotional and misguided and makes a lot of mistakes but he really does want to be a good person#he wants to help others and keep them safe even if it means hurting himself#he's a very complicated character but i feel so protective of him because i understand that despite all of this he's very fragile#all he needed was someone who loved and cared for him enough to steer him in the right direction and he didn't have that#he had to try to learn how the world works on his own and that went.....pretty badly to say the least#but it was either that or continue to be tortured and thought of as nothing more than an object#he was essentially like a scared animal just trying to survive#and much like a scared animal. they may bite but it's either in self defense or a sign of bad ownership. it's not entirely their fault#anyway i could go on and on and on forever about this topic#(and don't even get me started on how badly you all misinterpret the shit that happened with him and the founder)#but anyway. i love odo very much. odo haters dni

Multiple women have called out Blitzø and Stolas for being a selfish, toxic asshole, and their pain and anger are treated seriously. The only recurring female character who's treated as a completely unsympathetic one-dimensional jerksss is Stella.
This show is legitimately really terrible about not giving female characters and male characters equal screentime and not even attempting to pass the bechdel test, but Stella's treatment in and of itself isn't misogynistic. Some women really are just cruel, abusive, shitty people. Considering how INCREDIBLY rare it is to see female-on-male domestic abuse treated seriously in media, and how poorly male victims are treated in real life, I'm not going to complain too much.
