NOTE: I unfollowed a list of inactive blogs (those who haven’t touched for more than 6 months). Also, due to many of my semi-hiauts since last year, I lost track on the blogs who changed their usernames, so if you noticed that I unfollowed you due this, feel free to message me.
I’ve been here for three years now, and so many things happened within this time: a handful of mutuals deleted, some unfollowed, and a few kept their distance, but there are still so many great people who are with me. Even though I slowly became a B1A4 blog, I am happy that you all still stuck with me. I am thankful for both of these things. Remember that hardships happen to make you stronger. Thank you all, and stay as you are. Don’t forget to be YOU.

That's Haz
Synopsis: I dunno what to write here. Read it you'll understand.
More of my work
Tumblr media
YN loved to take pictures!
It was never a secret because that's what she does for living. And that's exactly how she met husband.
Both of them have known each other for nearly three years, been together as a couple for two and married for a little over a year.
She is still Harry's tour photographer from past three years now. They're both always together even when working. Of course YN goes around traveling with other artists too, but she is solely touring with Harry when he's on tour and performing.
Also, Harry have recently found out she's been his fan since the very beginning of his solo career and he haven't left even a single opportunity to tease her and annoy her with that.
It was recently YN's birthday. Harry took her to Disneyland, which she found very childish but she has always been going on and on about wanting to go there so she wasn't complaining. She enjoyed her day. Harry had another surprise for her, he bought her a nee camera she had in her Amazon wish list for over a year, and as noticeable Harry always is, he bought it for her! It was way out of her and she was saving up for it little by little. They spend an entire day doing a spontaneous photo of Harry in their backyard just because YN was dying to try out her new camera. And she was a simp for her husband so why wouldn't she want to have a free photoshoot with him in the backyard of their country side house in London, whilst they're both on their little getaway break from everything.
It's been a couple of days now YN was done retouching and editing his pictures. Now Harry was dying to see the pictures she took because she heard her screaming and squealing in joy from her editing room about how amazing the camera is. That was the only time both of them spent apart to give each other personal space.
"Sir, your pictures are ready," YN came back to living room with her computer and handed it to Harry.
"Finally," Harry sighed and took the device from her.
He flipped through literally a thousand pictures. Yeah, she literally edited a thought pictures and there were more in her 'scrap shots' folder. These weren't made for to go on his social media but he is really tempted to post them on his Instagram now.
He loved how she captured his true self. How subtly artistic her shots are. There was one he particularly liked which was a complete candid picture. He was telling his wife one his stupid knock-knock jokes but laughing even before he finished it on his own joke. Well, he didn't made himself look like a clown for laughing at his own joke even before telling her. She actually laughed at it! And the shot was captured perfect moment of her own laughing movement of her camera. Him just stood there in open field laughing his ass off in the picture, leaned back with his head slightly tilted back and both hands on his tummy.
Next shots were funny as they were in sequence on his falling down on grass as to how badly he was laughing.
"I love these!" YN giggled.
He didn't even notice she was snuggled up next to him with their small kitten, Prince, purring on her lap. Her head rested on his shoulder. He glanced at her smiling. Made sure to plant a mandatory kiss on her forehead before he got back to flipping through the pictures.
"God baby! These are so good!" He exclaimed as he reached to the last picture.
"Oh you're pretty so of course your pictures going to be good." She flashed him her sweet smile.
"You're going to give me an ego like that." He chuckled. "Come here and let kiss you!"
"Wait... Are you going to pay me in kisses now?" She asked closing her eyes, as his plush lips pressed on the apple of her right cheek planting a loving and tender kiss which linger even after he moved to her own lips. Feeling hand onto her face she felt herself melt in his touch. He moved away but only after pecking the tip of her nose.
"If you accept that currency, yeah," he nodded. Going back on the computer on his lap to go through the other folder. He accidentally closed off everything.
"You closed everything," she chuckled.
"Oops! Don't know how that happened." He laughed sheepishly. But he saw an old picture of him from when he had long curly locks on her background. How he didn't know about this. They both don't share a laptop. He was flatter though!
"Why do you have an old picture of me on your background?" He enquired just to tease her.
"Oh that's not you!" She shook her head going back to folders again on her laptop. "That's Haz."
"Oh, tell me about him." He tried to hold back his laugh talking about himself like a third person.
"Isn't he so fucking hot? Like urgh!" She groaned fangirling over him from when he had long hair, or you can Haz as she calls him. It was giving him a solid ego. And it was making his blush really bad, his cheeks hurt from smiling so much now.
YN busied herself with Prince. She found him just a month ago in olen field in the backyard of their this home. She was out on her morning run when she saw the little fluff ball shivering in cold whom she brought back home after failing to find his mother. She took him to vet immediately with Harry and he was just in perfect condition just a little dehydrated. YN begged to keep to her husband and not give him up to a shelter. Of course he couldn't say no to her doe eyes and she has been asking if they can adopt a puppy or a cat for the longest now. It's just been three weeks and YN has been taking care of this ginger fur ball like her own baby. He fit perfectly into the pouch of her hoodie like he is sitting at the moment. Prince loves constant attention and snuggles and so just YN, they're both like match made in heaven!
Harry loved seeing how she interacted with the new member of their family. Prince is literally his name. Now climbing up on Harry like he's a hurdle course YN encouraged him as Harry went through more pictures.
"Ow! His claws are digging into me skin." Harry whined feeling the kitten's claws sticking into his hoodie as he tried to climb up his sleeve. YN laughed and pulled the kitten off her husband.
"I love you so much!" YN said to the kitten pressing kisses onto his head.
"I love you more!" Harry said.
"I said that to Prince. But yeah, I love you as well."
"I bet you love him more." Harry said ending his sentence with that smack of his lips.
"Maybe..." YN admitted.
"He's a cat!" Harry gasped.
"He's not just a cat! He's my baby, look," YN said. Prince was back into her hoodie pouch making it look like she's pregnant.
"You are so weird sometimes baby," Harry laughed glancing at her.
"Baby why do you have these in scrap folder?" Harry enquired seeing pictures of them together, some sunset silhouette shots. They were screenshots from a video YN took on her phone. Both of them were dancing on their favourite songs. The video captured YN's antiques and jamming hard on Kiwi flipping her hair as both of them danced their way through the song.
"Wait... Why are you staring at me like that?" YN zoomed in on his face and found him staring into her soul as he's going to tear her soul apart, but with so much love. "I am creeped out."
"Hey, I'm staring at my wife." He called her out. "And you were being so adorable."
YN laughed, "looks like I am summoning demons from another dimension like that!"
"You have the weirdest things to say," he snorted.
"I want to post these on Instagram," YN sighed leaning into Harry's side.
"Do it, do it, do it!" He hyped her up.
"You sure?"
"Yes I am sure," he assured her.
"Oh I love you! And I said it for you this time." YN squealed and pecked his jaw quickly.
"I love you too darling." Harry smiled his dimply smile. Harry picked up Prince from YN's lap as YN took her laptop back posted a picture on her Photography account. A dump post— as she called it. With a bunch of his pictures which she is very proud, two of the videos one in which she is jamming on Kiwi and the second where she forced Harry to do a Tiktok trend dance with her.
"Can I post one too?" He asked.
It came to a lot of legality for him to even post a single picture of himself on his own feed. He didn't own the copyright to his own face which is very fucked up to think and they were YN's pictures she won't, but she could sue him for posting a picture she took without her permission.
"Of course," YN nodded.
Harry smiled his blushy smile as if he knows exactly what picture he wants to post. He never posts on Instagram or even go online. He knew what is going on his in fanbase just because of of YN as shows him different posts his fans tag her in.
"You should definitely grow out your hair again." YN suggested. She closed her laptop and kept it on the coffee table.
"Did your Haz cut off his hair?" He teased her busy posting a picture on his phone.
"I am serious," she huffed lying down on her back resting her head on his lap. "You looked so hot with long hair."
"I can think about it." He chuckled putting his phone to sleep after he was done posting.
"Now are you gonna pay or what?" She asked straddling his lap resting her hands on his shoulders.
"Should I?" He contemplated flashing his closed mouth smile at her, his chin tilted upward slightest but as his hands found their home on her butt. YN just squinted her eyes staring at him.

I checked your FAQ/masterlist and dont think this has been answered, so: HOW do you manage to write so fast?? any advice?? 600+ thousand in a year has me floored, really, that would be impossible for me.
In response to this post.
Well first of all, I think it's really important to emphasize that I didn't do this on my own. I co-write with my writing partner, so it was a joint effort! Since we split the load equally and write roughly the same amount, I would guess that my personal word count would be around 300k+ish.
But yes, I absolutely have advice! Keep in mind that every writer is different — so this may not work for you necessarily! This is just what worked for me and my writing partner. The most important thing is figuring out what works for you.
Write as regularly and as often as you can
This for me, was the most important thing. And believe me, I get it. I used to write once in a blue moon; I used to be lucky to write 5k in a year. I never thought that I was capable of writing two days in a row, let alone a month or a year. But this is not only important, it's possible.
I am never going to be one of those people who say "In order to be a good writer, you have to write everyday" because it's not feasible for everyone. For some people, this means writing a few times a week. For others, it might mean once a week, or twice a month. Whatever your pace is, that's fine. Find it, and try to honor it as much as possible. However, it is really important to build a habit, and here's why:
I talk about the importance of writing being a muscle that needs to be trained several times. By writing regularly and as often as you can, you are training your writing muscles to be better. The more you write, the easier writing will be.
I've found that writing every single day has made it a lot easier to ignore all of that. The stakes become lower because you're already writing a lot; there's less pressure. It becomes easier to accept our flaws, and find satisfaction in imperfections because you get used to just writing instead of editing as we go.
Things that have changed for me as I began writing everyday:
I stopped getting writer's block. I used to have it 24/7, now I haven't had it for 2 years.
I stopped hating my writing. I used to hate my writing so much. I couldn't write because nothing was good enough, I hated reading it because all I could see were the flaws. By writing every single day, it's become a lot easier to accept my writing for what it is. Do I think it's amazing? Sometimes, but not all of the time. But now I can write without feeling terrible or second-guessing myself.
I stopped editing as I go. We all know the problem: can't get past three sentences, because you spend 2 hours rewriting those 3 sentences to get them perfect. Writing everyday helps you learn how to ignore that urge until you don't have it anymore. It's essentially like writing sprints but on a longer level: you learn how to simply write and let things breathe and exist on the page without immediately editing.
I stopped judging my writing. I used to cringe at every single sentence that I've ever written because I thought that it was terrible. Now, I can read my own writing without judgment. I haven't cringed in two years. Is it perfect? No, there's always something that can be improved. But I appreciate my writing for what it is, and I even enjoy reading it!
I've gained intrinsic motivation to write, and let go of my need for extrinsic motivation. Through writing everyday, I managed to learn how to love writing for the sake of writing. I no longer need people to read my writing and give me praise to motivate me. Case in point: I've written 600k+ words with my writing partner in 2021, and we have not posted it anywhere. We aren't getting any sort of praise or validation from the outside world, and it is the most fun we've ever had writing.
I learned how to write even when I'm not inspired or motivated. One of the hard writer truths is that if we only write when we have inspiration to, we'll never finish anything or get to the places that we want to. Writing everyday, making it a habit and training our writing muscles makes it SO much easier to crank out some words and get a point across when we're not feeling it. I definitely haven't always been super inspired or excited to write in 2021, but being in the habit of writing makes it easier to push some words out, even if you don't have that spark.
My writing improved by leaps and bounds. Objectively speaking, my writing has gotten so much better. I've improved more in the past two years than I've ever improved in my entire life. And not only did I get better, it's easier to write and to improve now.
I actually write the really cool parts of my WIP that I've dreamed about for years. And yes, I write chronologically. Writing out of order doesn't work for me, so I had to get through everything that happened before that to get to the part that I've been dreaming and hyping up in my head. I used to always stop writing before I got anywhere remotely near it, so it was always just a really cool idea in my head. When I finally got to that point, it was glorious.
Once I've written out the scene that I've been perfecting in my head for years, it's even better than I could ever imagine. It's always a scary thought that it'll never live up to our high expectations. For me, it surpassed it. It is so much better written down than it was in my head, and now I get to read it. The satisfaction is incredible.
I no longer dread writing. Back when I never wrote, the idea and the expecation and the pressure for me to write was immense. I'm a writer, so I need to write, but I'm not. It gave me a lot of anxiety and dread, and I avoided it all the time. Now, I go to bed, excited to write more tomorrow. I wake up, and my first thought is how excited I am to write more today. I'm constantly writing in my spare time because I want to write. I'm not scared of it anymore.
I don't believe that you have to write every single day to reap the benefits like I did. I think writing as regularly as you can will work. Be sure to pick a realistic and manageable goal for yourself, and figure out what works for you!

More advice under the cut!
Keep track of your word count
For me, it was incredibly motivating to see how many words I write per day. It can also show you interesting trends and stats, and seeing the cumulative word count that we wrote per month or year. It's also a good accountability tool too, and keeps me writing even when I don't want to, because I don't want to break my streak.
You can track it daily, or weekly, monthly, whatever works for you! I have a daily word count per project, and a daily cumulative word count where I add it all together.
You can use whatever tool you want. There are a ton of free (and paid) trackers out there that you can find by asking around or googling, you can make a spreadsheet, etc. I personally just use the word count channel I made on a private Discord server, and this was what made it possible for me to track it because it's so easy!
Love your WIP
Are you enjoying your story? Are you having fun writing it? Do you get excited when you think about it?
We're not always going to enjoy writing, and that's okay. But it's really important that no matter how bad the hard days get, that our WIP is full of things that we love. It's okay to be self-indulgent; it's okay to throw in our favourite tropes and techniques and archetypes. Find ways to be excited about it! Daydream, make pinterest boards or playlists, whatever it takes.
The more you enjoy your writing, the better it will be. The more you enjoy it, the more you'll want to work on it.
When your WIP gets stale, throw in something new
No matter how much you love your WIP, and no matter how much you are in the habit of writing, you're going to face a lull at some point. As much as you believe in your WIP, it might start to get stale, boring, you're just going through the motions, it's just not inspiring you anymore...
When this happens, try something new! For my writing partner and I, we tried writing out a sex scene for the very first time when writing was a slog. We discovered that we enjoyed writing it, and we spent all day nonstop writing, after pushing out minimal word counts for several weeks.
When one project was getting too comfortable and stale, we started another one to write alongside it, and we've tripled our daily word count. We write more for each individual project now, than we did when we had just the one.
Maybe it's trying out action scenes, incorporating a new character, switching POVs, starting a new side project... Whatever it is, when you're getting bored, try throwing in something new. It might be the spark you need to breathe life back into it.
Find a writing buddy to hold yourself accountable
Let's face it: Writing is really hard. It can be really isolating. I know that I would never have written 50k words, let alone 600k+ if I was doing it all on my own. If I didn't have my writing partner waiting for me to write, or to talk to when I was feeling stuck, discuss headcanons and ideas with... I don't think I would ever be able to write everyday.
Even if you're not co-writing like I am, find a writing buddy! Maybe you have a friend that is willing to check in with you and chat with you about your projects. Maybe there's a mutual on Writeblr, and you can send each other encouraging asks, and DMs to keep each other updated on word count. Maybe it's not even a single buddy, and you're just posting about it to your followers.
Whatever it is, having someone else to check in with, who can ask "hey, how's your WIP going? Did you write for it today?", or having someone to bounce ideas off of, and get excited with you can make a world of difference.
It's not always going to be easy writing regularly, and that's okay
Just do your best to get out a couple of sentences or something. Especially initially, when you're not used to writing regularly, you're going to get stuck a lot. Try to lower the bar; it's okay if it's the crappiest sentence in the world, just try to write something.
And also importantly, don't push yourself too hard! Give it an honest effort, and if it's still not working it's okay to take a break.
Be forgiving when you don't meet your goal
You real life obligations and mental health will always, always come first.
If you skip a writing day, that's okay! If you don't meet your goal, that's also okay. It's good to have goals and it's good to push to meet them, but you don't have to beat yourself up for not achieving it. You don't have to work yourself to the bone trying to make it.
Take care of yourself, you're doing your best. You're not a failure for missing the mark sometimes. Just give it another shot on another day, even if you stumble.
Every little bit counts
Even if you write just five words that day, it counts!
This one was a really hard one for me to swallow personally. After writing 2k+ per day for months, it felt disappointing to write less than 1k on a day. But that's okay.
No matter how many words or how few words you write, the main thing is that you are writing. If you wrote less than what you expected, that's fine! Try to reframe it and think of it in a "it was a hard day, but I managed to write five words anyway and I'm proud of myself".
Celebrate the victories
My writing partner and I celebrate every 50k we write. Before we were consistently writing 50k per month, we celebrated every 10k. My private discord server has milestones of "On this day, we wrote 50k!" because I want to memorialize our accomplishments somewhere. After we finish a really good chapter, we celebrate it together. We reread our projects every so often to talk about how good it is and how much we like it.
Maybe it's as little as patting yourself on the back. Maybe it's something more robust like rewarding yourself somehow. No matter what you do, find a way to celebrate a milestone, however you want to define it.
Keep your document open, even if you're not actively writing in it
Even if you're doing something else, just having it open can lower the barrier to writing. Sometimes I feel like finding our document, opening it up, waiting for it to load, finding a notebook, flipping to the right page, finding a pen, all of that can take up spoons.
If you already have it open and accesible, you can take advantage of it and write something whenever you have the slightest of inklings to. I procrastinate on writing a lot, and I'm not always inclined to do something. I split screen my internet browser and have my document open on one half of my screen at all times. This makes it so much easier to type a few things when I feel like it.
Squeeze writing in whenever and wherever you can
Writing doesn't have to be sitting down at your computer for hours to crank out a lot of words in a single sitting. I wrote on my phone a lot. Whenever I had a bit of a break, I pulled out my phone and wrote something. In between errands and tasks, I was writing on my phone, or jotting down an idea in my planner. Make your idea of 'writing' a bit more flexible; you'd be surprised by how many ways you can squeeze it in somewhere.
Tumblr media
Again, this is just what worked for me and my partner specifically. You'll have to figure out what works for you, but hopefully this will give you a place to start trying things out.
Good luck!

Ok I have to talk about something
[SPOILERs for Our Flag Means Death and kinda for Good Omens ahead]
Some people in both the GO and the OFMD fandom are happy for the canonization of like every hinted couple in OFMD and for Mary being supportive etc., but they criticize GO because they never romantically touch on screen or express their feelings for each other.
Like, I get it. But. But (regarding GO):
1. The ship is clearly a slow burn (with them getting to know each other in thousands of years and everything...)
2. We haven't watched the second (and hopefully third) season yet, maybe there they'll get to be vocal about their feelings or just consider themselves married (because let's be honest here, they are an old couple and have been for some time)
3. I know that could be sound like an excuse but they actually are angels (or former angels) and clearly not really interested in gender, as well as others angels, and sexuality. Yes, they are non conventional ones in their world, considering they like human stuff, but sex doesn't seem one of the things they're interested in. And yes, I would have liked them to have closer hands in the last scene at the restaurant but I'll just wait and see and hope for some handholding in the next series.
Also, Aziraphale and Crowley are complete dorks and I don't think they know much about relationships or whatever, they just enjoy each other company and they're okay with that. At the end of season one they pair up against Hell and Heaven and maybe they are also starting to realize they have feelings they might want to discuss. But they already are a couple.
4. In the interviews actors and producers always confirmed that that is indeed a love story, Neil Gaiman and Michael Sheen in particular support this concept on social media too.
5. The focus of the story is stopping the Apocalypse - while OFMD is a romcom, so I'm okay with Neil wanting to unfold their relationship more slowly.
So please stop putting Sherlock obvious queerbating at the same level of GO non-queerbating. In GO the love is subtle, yes, but the story is not finished yet and you never feel like "Yes but they could've kissed in this scene" or shit like that. GO is a good story and I don't know how it will end, but forcing things just may be worse than "canonizing" their relationship in the first episodes. Their relationship makes sense this way and I'm sure they will acknowledge it in the show, somehow. Also this has the potential to be some nice asexual representation.
Let me know if you agree or not, I may have explained some things poorly because I don't speak English frequently, sorry.
Edit:
I forgot the most important thing, that should be enough to close this case, and Neil himself told us...

Really, I know that this man has done an excellent work for the second season and the first is perfect as it is.
Whatever kind of love they share is still love, and it's valid, and it's sweet and well-written.

post-break up heartaches
⤷ verse 2. in the dreams that we once shared
Tumblr media
⤷ miya osamu, bokuto koutarou
⤷ verse 1 | verse 3
⤷ play. sorrow by sleeping at last, wrong direction by hailee steinfield
commissions: open
Tumblr media
⇢ OSAMU stays still in his seat, melancholic eyes contrasting your bright ones while you twirl around in the middle of the ballroom. he admits, your dream wedding gown fit your figure perfectly as it flowed so gracefully the more you moved. but no beauty can compare to the happiness on your face as you danced with his previous volleyball teammate; the latter having a small smile on his face, not even having a single care about the funny looks you've been getting from your distant relatives. despite the minimal expression he adorns, to someone who has known him for a long time, it's clear as day just how ecstatic suna rintaro was to declare you as his wife, just as you were to call him your husband.
that could've been us, his mind screams all throughout the time he's been in the wedding ceremony, that could've been him dancing with you. he remembers little by little— how those smiles and laughters used to be solely for him whenever you try out his new recipes, from tasty to funny, how he used to be the one suddenly dragged to dance with you, how you used to dream of being married to him. him and only him.
but time was a cruel thing. he should've known better than to keep you waiting for more than so many years with nothing but empty and broken promises. i'll be done soon, yn, you know how much this means to me, this is my dream we're talking about here. stop being selfish please— he recalls himself telling you. he fails to see the disappointment and hurt that cross your eyes, fails to protect the already fragile relationship as you say your goodbye's to him a few more arguments and weeks later— i'm sorry for holding you back, samu. make sure to reach your dreams, okay?
i'm sorry. no matter how many times he says it, your fate was already done with him. you only needed him and he couldn't even give you that.
"hey there, stranger. wanna dance for a bit?"
he looks up, blinded by your brightness that almost seemed as if it mocked his sappy mood but he nods nevertheless, taking your hands as you pull him to the dance floor. in his peripheral view, he sees suna give him a wholehearted smile.
"you should stop frowning. it doesn't suit your face you know? what did you do to my lively samu?" you huff after a few minutes of nothing but silence and awkwardness while you swayed side to side with him, pouting when he shrugs, "you're such a gloomy ass! are you still in love with me or something?"
you swear it was supposed to be a joke, something to lighten the air between you two. but how were you supposed to laugh when he replied to you in the way you least expected?
"yeah, actually, i still am."
silence engulfed the two of you as you tried to overcome your shock. and for all the years he has been with you, it was painfully obvious that the answer he hopes for will not come. not now, not ever.
"samu... it's been—"
"i know. almost 8 years, is it? i know but i can't help it, yn. how could i when you're literally all i see everywhere i look?"
you fail to give him back a reply and (un)fortunately, he feels a tap on his shoulder and immediately, he knew it was time. he lets go of your waist and turns around, heart ready to get drowned by the bitter wine he's planning to drink all throughout the night, accompanied by the tears he won't be able to let out until he comes back to his hotel room.
"congratulations on your wedding, yn."
he ignores the hollowness inside him brought about by the unfinished conversation and goes back to his seat and repeats it like a mantra: not all fairytales get their happy ending.
and much to his dismay, his was one of those that don't.
⇢ BOKUTO was a star, luminous and blinding yet always longing to be part of the galaxy that held the awe of many other people. he was a child with dreams that wander all over the world and with confidence, he wants hear it, see that same world cheer for him.
he was an enormous star but his dreams were even bigger— and as he reaches out his hand to take more of what the universe can give him, he unknowingly lets go of yours.
"you look like you've dropped a huge shit on your underwear with the way you're staring down the court," konoha comments as he takes the seat he reserved beside you, hands deep in his pocket while he does so.
you glare at him, scoffing at his vulgar choice of words, "and you look like that shit, asshole. we haven't seen each other for so long and that's how you greet me?"
he laughs out loud, opening his arms and shoving you in them, "here! is this what you wanted instead? so adorable, yn! i knew you loved me at some point!"
you let out a series of groans, struggling to get out of his hold, "no! you're so annoying, get off me!"
he cackles, releasing you as the buzz rings out throughout the whole court, signaling the beginning of the match between msby and schweiden adlers. you shift in your seat, watching the players get introduced one by one, gasping when your ex-boyfriend literally does two cartwheels in his turn. is he... serious?
"where does he think he is... some kind of circus?" konoha snickers, shaking his head in amusement. oddly, you find yourself laughing with your companion. after all, this was typical bokuto, so full of energy and surprises.
"he looks... okay. very much okay," you bitterly state, placing your chin right on your palm as your arms and elbows rested on your lap. envy envelops your whole being as you watch him lively wave to the crowds, a large grin staying on his face. you huff silently, eyes trying to look at the other players but gravity seems to be playing its tricks on you as you find yourself reverting back to his figure. you wonder if time will let you become that happy someday.
"you're not...?" the lad beside you trails off, sighing when you shake your head 'no.'
"of course not yet, aki. it's not that i still love him or anything but he's just... he was everything, you know? he's become part of all my routines and now that he's gone, it... it just feels empty. like the dreams that used to help me sleep at night suddenly went away," he nods, not pushing you to say anything further. you both knew better than to have a shameful breakdown in public.
"god, i keep forgetting that the air conditioning in here is the worst," you grumble under your breath, rubbing your hands together to keep them from freezing out... because bokuto was no longer there to keep them warm, no longer there to offer you his own hands because you both forgot your gloves at home, no longer there to blow on them as if it was effective (it distracted you both at least), no longe—
"here, give me your hand," konoha reaches out to you, palms awaiting for yours to be in contact with his. you blink, surprised by his sudden offer, along with the pink hues that dusted both sides of his cheeks.
"we can't have them becoming numb, can we? i... i want to hold these hands for a very long time, you know?" he stutters as he begins rubbing both of your hands together, successfully getting rid of the cold and providing a new warmth you never expected will come sooner. oh... it's time, huh?
"uhm... yeah... thank you," you felt your face get hot. it seems like something... rather, someone has come to distract from the coldness you've been recently feeling.
"give me your days," he coughs out, still blushing. if anything, he's flushing even more now, "i'll fill the emptiness in them... and... and i can be your dream so you can sleep tight... and you'll be mine."
you gape at him, thousands of scenes flying through your mind but all of them led to one specific scenario.
"i... i have a lot of dreams, yn! i want to become a star player, someone who everyone will look up to and cheer for! and i... i think i want to focu—"
"i get it, bo. i'll get out of your way then. thank you... for everything."
"i-i'll be your dream?"
konoha chokes on his own saliva, "y-yeah! don't make me repeat it though, do you even know how cheesy that sounds? i can't believe i just said that, god... the things you make me do, you...!"
"okay."
it was his turn to blink, "e-eh?"
"i guess this is day one then?"
"eh?! wait... we... we're dating now, right?!"
"shut up now, aki."
as his golden eyes observe the two figures sitting by the stands, bokuto wishes he could've seen sooner that you were the one he had always been dreaming of, yearning for; wishes it could be him that was holding your hands again and he swears to whoever god there is, he won't let go of them anymore.
but then again, it seems like you were finally ready to wander with someone that wasn't him— who was he to stop you from doing so?
he was just a star;
you were the whole universe,
his universe.

if you can, what are bog bodies??
:D!!!
WARNING THIS CAN BE CONSIDERED GROSS AND/OR UPSETTING, PLEASE TAKE CARE
(i am on mobile and afaik cannot insert a readmore)
okay so peat bogs are uniquely suited to preserving organic things like textiles, wood, butter -- seriously look up bog butter it's a trip -- and flesh and hair.
a combination of the cold anaerobic environment in the silty depths of bogs, acidic water, and a chemical called sphagnan (from sphagnum moss) basically makes the perfect tea to steep a corpse in that will preserve it for legiterally thousands of years. the bones are rubbery like science experiments in primary school where you put a chicken bone in vinegar for a week, and the skin ends up tanned like leather, and the flesh and even stomach contents all end up preserved.
for up to thousands of years.
the oldest one i know of is from the bronze age in ireland (cashel bog, county laois); he's about four thousand years old
and listen these bodies still have fingerprints, they have hair, they aren't just skeletons, we can tell how they died even if it was soft tissue damage or poison. they haven't been hollowed out or dried or frozen, some of them have faces that still look like faces
(there's a lot of debate over respect, over whether they should be re-buried, over the treatment by the academic community of preserved bodies that belonged to people who did not donate their bodies to science, but there has always been that kind of debate (witness early modern medicine, where medical students were literally graverobbing the freshly buried so they could dissect them and find out what was where)-- and most of these bodies, as with other bog deposits, are accidental finds due to peat milling machinery. it would be just as disrespectful to bury them with someone else's (our own) customs as it would be to get theirs wrong, and in large part the environment they were in has already been destroyed. (and i think museums have a lot more to answer for with younger bones.) the current compromise seems to be 'study and photograph but don't display' but i haven't checked that since 2018. )
either way there's so much we can learn about the lifeways of prehistoric people, and not just from skellingtons and stable isotopes; i wanna go on about the actual theories of human sacrifice in ireland based on evidence like the depositions at boundaries and the final meals and the triple death/overkill and specific ritual mutilation of apparent failed kings and tacitus's germania and the ulster cycle (see: eamonn p. kelly on academia.edu) and yde girl and lindow man and grauballe man and clonycavan man and his pine resin pompadour but it's 1:30 am and im thumb-typing this in the dark in bed on my tiny phone 🤣
edit: also most of my bog body focus is in the UK and Ireland but yoooooo there's a LOT MORE than that

side to side
Warnings: swearing
Word count: 4.6k
Summary: In which you're performing your hit single in front of your fellow Avengers cast-mates and Chris can't seem to take his eyes off of you, catching the attention of a few cameras.
Tumblr media
"I'm here with the biggest pop-star of this generation, and she plays the very talented daughter of Tony Stark," the interviewer announced your name, smiling brightly at you as the camera panned your way. The hundreds of thousands of fans at home screaming when your face appeared. "How do you feel with all your nominations tonight?"
You smiled at the camera, giving a small wave at the people watching at home. "Honestly, I'm just glad I was even considered for these nominations. I mean, my girls Taylor, and Billie...they're amazing and I'm so happy to be put in the same category as them."
The lady grinned at you, her eyes twinkling. Or maybe it was her sparkly dress, the fabric nearly blinding you with how it shined under the lights. "If you ask me, you've got a pretty good chance at winning. I mean, your hit single—Side to Side—surpassed, like, a billion views in just a month? That's impressive."
"Well, I couldn't have done it without my fans." you replied, winking at the camera.
It was that time of the year again, where every artist, actor, and YouTuber hit the stage for the People's Choice Awards. With your crazy schedule, and the lack of sleep, you had planned to skip the award show until your friend, and co-star, Chris Evans—Captain America himself—convinced you otherwise. Even with the categories you've been nominated for had been more than a handful, but it was the begging and constant complaining from Chris that made you get off your tired ass and put it into a tight dress.
Your hit single, Side to Side, had everyone anticipated for your performance, unsure if you would be performing until the producers had put your name into the advertisement, making fans blow up Twitter. You were sure they had advertised your own song, along with your movie nominations, more than you ever had.
With nominations of Movie of the Year (Avengers: Infinity War), Action Movie of the Year (Avengers: Infinity War), Female Movie Star of the Year (Amara Stark), Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Side to Side), Music Video of the Year (Into You), Beauty Influencer of the Year, and Social Celebrity of the Year, you had your hands full, which had only made your manager glow with happiness.
"Of course!" the interviewer agreed, glancing at the teleprompter filled with tiny words. "It was rumored that you wouldn't be coming, and a lot of us were upset, including me. Was that just a rumor or..."
"Actually, it's not that far off. I'm fucking—oh, shit—oh no!" you gasped, covering your mouth before anymore foul words could come out on live television. Instead of correcting you, the lady laughed, patting your arm softly. "Can't say that on tv. My bad. I, uh, with everything going on, I've been really tired, and I haven't slept in a week. I just wanted to chill, and accept my nominations at home but someone convinced me to come. So, if I say or do anything ridiculous tonight, I'm blaming him and my lack of sleep."
She nodded, clapping slowly. "I think that's fair. Is that someone, your onscreen father, RDJ?"
"He was one of the many people who unsuccessfully changed my mind, but no, it was Chris Evans. He promised me a day with his adorable dog, Dodger, and I couldn't refuse." you said, grinning at how his face had changed from hopeless to cocky as soon as he brought up Dodger.
"If I'm remembering this correctly, Chris Evans is that very handsome man you had kissed in your music video earlier this year. Into You, right? How do you feel kissing one of your co-stars outside of the movies your working on?"
"Technically, it was still acting, and I have kissed him before, so it wasn't awkward at all." you answered, glad Chris had accepted the role. Not only had it sky-rocketed the views and streams, but it made you feel better that it was his lips you were kissing and not a random model's. Yet, it didn't feel as professional as it had before when you pulled away after a take.
In scenes where you had to kiss the Boston actor, it was as professional as kicking Anthony Mackie's ass in Civil War but the kisses you shared on the set of the music video was definitely more personal. At the time, you had brushed it off as Chris being recently single, but now that you had broken up with Henry, you started questioning it again.
The interviewer nodded, squinting once more to read the words off the teleprompter before asking you another question that would certainly make the headlines. "I've been reading up on all those juicy tabloids and I've got one question that would satisfy my curiosity. Was Into You written about Henry Cavill or Tom Ellis?"
Usually, that type of question made you change the subject or altogether avoid the matter but this time, you wanted to joke about your failed engagement. "Henry, but Side to Side was written about Tom since I wanted more Grammy's considering the last album I put out won me a few. But this time, I'm gonna do it without an engagement."
The woman faked a laugh, surprised by the blunt honesty of your answer. "Um, you certainly do have a thing for British men, eh? I don't want to keep you up, but one more thing, for the fans. They've been dying to know if there's anything going on between you and Chris Evans. Any tea you wanna spill?"
"There's none to spill. We're just friends but it's always amusing scrolling through Twitter to find these edits of us." you replied, fidgeting slightly with the hem of your dress. Like usual, you had wondered if you should've worn something less extra but you had let your stylist play dress up with you for the past few months.
"Of course. Well, good luck to you, and I can't wait to see your performance." she said, giving you a little pat on the shoulders before announcing your name once again.
You got off the little platform, immediately taking Chris' awaiting hand, holding onto it as you climbed down the steps in your dangerous stilettos. Sighing, you leaned on him, trying to avoid the blinding camera flashes. "That was more exhausting than I thought it would be. You need to get me some caffeine after this is over because there's no way I'm making it to the after show without at least a few cans of Red Bull."
"So dramatic." Chris grinned, childishly sticking his tongue out as he guided you down the red carpet, stopping when told to take a picture. He let go of your hand, only to wrap it around your waist as you posed for the pictures. "Are you going to the after party?"
Posing seriously for a few seconds, you let your smile back on your face, facing the man beside you. "I was thinking about it, take a few photos, and head back home. Aren't you?"
"Actually, I was thinking we could ditch it and just hang out. You know, I did promise you some time with Dodger and you could waste a couple hours sleeping." he replied, his hand tightening ever so slightly on your waist. Flashing you a shit-eating smirk, he nudged you a little, pulling you away from the blinding flashes. "What do you say?"
You opened your mouth to answer only to be cut off by your manager, Alexandre coming out of nowhere to rip you away from Chris' arms. The latin man sighed in annoyance, glancing at his watch while giving you the look you've seen too many times before. "You're supposed to be in wardrobe right now. Get your ass backstage, and change before you miss your own performance. As for you, Mr. Evans, Megan wants your ass in a chair."
"I'll see you after." you say, getting dragged by your manager, winking at the actor before walking towards the changing area, the cameras following you until they couldn't enter the area.
Getting ready before a huge performance always calmed you down, maybe it was the smell of makeup or the feel of designer clothing made especially for you, but something about it made you feel comfortable and cozy. It was like a routine, especially with all the music videos and movies you had to film, the makeup, the hair.
They made you sit back, giving you your phone like a child while they made you even more sparkly than before, making sure you'd stand out against the flashing lights during the performance. A performance you made sure no one would ever forget. Smiling, you let your thoughts drift back to a certain super soldier as you were pampered.
"Welcome to the People's Choice Awards!"
The room darkened, the blue and pinks lights focusing on the stage as cameras all turned towards your shadow. Making sure your mic was set properly, tried to see past the darkness, to see a familiar face or two but with the headache coming on from the tight half-ponytail didn't help your case. The music started, the beat vibrating, you flipped your hair, and started.
"I've been there all night
I've been there all day (Nicki Minaj)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Let then hoes know)"
You rode the bike, belting out in your microphone, the attached headset limiting your movements a little. Gripping the handles, you made eye contact at the camera to your left, winking at it as you pedaled.
"I'm talkin' to ya
See you standing over there with your body
Feeling like I wanna rock with your body
And we don't gotta think 'bout nothin'
I'm comin' at ya
'Cause I know you got a bad reputation
Doesn't matter, 'cause you give me temptation
And we don't gotta think 'bout nothin'"
As you had sung, your eyes had adjusted to the bright spotlight focused on you, seeing a shadow of the one person you wanted to make you walk side to side. While you had answered the reporter's question, you hadn't been completely honest. Some of the lyrics had been written for the Bostonian; or to be more exact, your sex fantasies. With the chorus coming up, you let go of the handles, trying not to fall on your ass as you clapped your hands above your head, the claps matching the beat.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give you up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I..."
Trying to be bold, you stared at him, his face in particular. The spotlight had blinded you so much that you couldn't see what his reaction was—or anyone's for that matter—but maybe it was a good thing. After all, his gaze always made you blush no matter how hard you tried not to. Pedaling faster, you threw your head back, hoping the motion would draw everyone's—Chris'—eyes on your chest.
"I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side"
With the help of a shirtless dancer, you got off your bike, taking the sheer jacket from him, and putting it on as you walked towards the front of the stage, moving your hips in to the beat of the song. Resting a hand on a shirtless dancer, you positioned yourself so you were grinding your ass against his crotch, throwing back an arm around his neck.
"Been tryna hide it
Baby, what's it gonna hurt if they don't know?
Makin' everybody think that we solo
Just as long as you know you got me
And boy, I got ya
'Cause tonight I'm making deal with the devil
And I know it's gonna get me in trouble
Just as long as you know you got me"
Sashaying to the little balance beam at the front of the stage, you made sure your hips swayed more than usual.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give you up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I...
"I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side
I've been here all night
I've been here all day
And boy, got me walkin' side to side"
A few seconds after your note ended, you strike a pose on the balance beam, posing for a few more seconds while the cameras turned their attention away from you and onto the queen of rap herself: Nicki Minaj. The leather, pink bodysuit was identical to yours except for the color, her attitude fitting the badass outfit. She began to walk towards the stage, never breaking eye contact with the camera in front of her while the men pretending to work out to the choreo.
"Uh, yeah
This the new style with the fresh type of flow
Wrist icicle, ride dick bicycle
Come through yo, get you this type of blow
If you want a ménage, I got a tricycle
All these bitches' flows is my mini-me
Body smoking, so they call me Young Nicki Chimney
Rappers in they feelings 'cause they feelin' me
Uh, I-I give zero fucks and I got zero chill in me
Kissing me, copped the blue box that say Tiffany
Curry with the shot, just tell 'em to call me Stephanie
Gun pop, then I make my gum pop
I'm the queen of rap"
By the time she had finished her verse, you had caught up with the multitasking of both working out and singing, able to use your full singing capabilities for your high note. Nicki joined you on stage, hyping up the crowd while you built up for the high note, almost every camera pointed at you except for the one focused on capturing the headline-worthy expression slapped on Chris' face.
"These friends keep talkin' way too much
Say I should give em up
Can't hear them, no, 'cause I...
"I've been here all night (Been here all night, baby)
I've been here all day (Been here all night, baby)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Side to side)
I've been here all night (Been here all night, baby)
I've been here all day (Been here all day, baby) (Ooh, baby)
And boy, got me walkin' side to side (Side to side)"
Both you and Nicki motioned for the dancers to come towards you, curling your index finger at the sexy men. Singing the refrain, you both made them drop to their knees in front of you, as if they were kneeling at your command.
Just as the last note was sung, everyone clapped, the majority standing up, and more cheered. You noticed Chris hadn't done either, still sitting in his motionless while two camera men pointed their cameras at him. Your eyebrows furrowed, thankfully after the spotlight had shifted over to the miniature stage where the two hosts were babbling about nominations.
You were ushered off the stage along with the queen of rap herself, taking a few backstage photos before quickly returning back to your dressing room to change into your tailored dress. Your mind had wandered to why Chris hadn't applauded—not that he was obliged too, but a little something would've nice, especially with all the days put into the performance.
Taking a deep breath, you entered the big room, filled with your co-stars and other A-list celebrities. Little did you know you'd find out the reason to your question in the morning.
The loud ringtone woke you up, the sound obnoxious and borderline abuse to your ears. Beside you, Chris groaned, rolling onto his stomach, trying to muffle the sound of the call with his arm draped over his head. Putting him out his misery, you lazily reached for your phone, pressing the green button with dread, seeing the name across the screen.
"Hello—"
"You're trending on Twitter." Alexandre announced, happy with the results of the previous awards show. While it wasn't something as big as a Grammy or Oscar, judging by the amount of awards you had taken home, you became the people's favorite. "Hold on, lemme rephrase that. You and Chris are trending. Number one, world wide."
Glancing at the man sleeping beside you, you sat up, confused by the information given to you. You blamed Chris for making you stay up so late for your confusion. "Um, why? Did I accidentally have another nip slip?"
"What the hell?" Chris mumbled, rolling onto his back, his arm grazing your bare stomach. He immediately took it back, sitting up to look over your puzzled face. "What's going on?"
You shrugged, putting your phone on speaker so Alexandre could explain. Your manager chuckled, knowing you had stayed the night with Chris. He was just waiting for the day you'd finally have the guts to speak about the growing sexual tension. "Okay, Alex, explain."
"As much as I would love to go into full detail, I have other stuff to do so, I'm going to give you the basics. Chris' reaction to your performance went viral, people are shipping the both of you, and there's been thousands of memes made." Alexandre replied, a smile evident in his voice. "Anyways, I have to go. Got some interviews to schedule. Have fun getting your way out of this, Chris."
Your phone screen went back to the home screen, a picture of your family dog, Buster, smiling widely. Looking at Chris, you saw his eyes widened, his hands coming to rest of his face in embarrassment as he fell back onto the bed with a bounce, his head nearly hitting the headboard. "Oh, fuck."
"Are you going to show me what your face looked like or do I have to scroll through Twitter until I find it? Oh! Maybe they edited it in my performance." you thought out load, tapping on the YouTube app. You hadn't trusted yourself enough to log into your official account, knowing you'd probably make a mistake so you opted for having a secondary account where you could watch cat videos without the anxiety of posting something stupid.
Chris' hand snatched your phone away, tucking it in his pocket, the sweats he had slept in was somehow wrinkled, and his shirt damp from the warmth. "You wanna get some food? I'll cook some bacon but you'll have to make the pancakes 'cause the last time—"
"I wanna see your reaction." you whined, reaching across his stomach for your phone. Chris turned his body away from you, shielding the phone from your reach. "Chris!"
He waved your attempt away, rolling off the bed, his feet hitting the floor before you could fall back on the mattress. You poured, getting on all fours, crawling towards the edge. Chris took a step back, brows furrowing. "It's not important. Let's get you some food."
"Fine." you mumbled, an idea making you light up. Rolling off the bed, you glanced at his phone on the nightstand, exposed and easy to take. With quick reflexes, you grabbed his phone, rolling back on the bed until you reached the other side, making it impossible for him to reach for his phone back.
"Hey!" the Bostonian shouted, launching himself on the bed in attempt to get his phone back. He made a noise as you rushed out of your room, locking yourself in the nearby bathroom, laughing evilly when he threw himself at the door. He yelled out your name, his fist banging on the door. "I'm serious! Don't!"
Ignoring his begging, you opened his phone with your thumbprint. How ironic how much he didn't want you to look at his phone when he was the one who insisted you have the password to it. His arguments became louder as you opened up his Twitter, immediately heading to the trending section, seeing both your names at the number one spot.
"Damn, I look hot." you joked out loud, making Chris silent for a second before pleading for you not to continue. You smirked, scrolling through the tweets, trying to find his reaction. "Jesus Christ, what the hell happened to you? Did you fall on your face or something?"
Chris groaned, banging his head on the door in defeat as he heard your almost inaudible gasp, that quickly turned into little giggles. If he wasn't so embarrassed, he would've broken the door down to hold you in his arms. "Oh, no."
Bursting out into hard laughter, you fell into the large bathtub, hitting your head on the wall but you couldn't care less. The expression on his face during your performance had been borderline comical, the wide eyes, the jaw hanging open, the open hand resting on his chin while his eyes stayed strained on you the whole time, never wavering from your body, the sexy choreography making his jeans tight.
Cackling like the Wicked Witch of the West, tears ran down your cheeks, your stomach cramping from the maniacal laughter. Lifting yourself up from the tub, you stumbled to the door, your loud laugh ringing out towards the whole house. You let Chris in the bathroom, his phone quickly taken from your hand but it was too late. The blush on his cheeks wasn't going away anytime soon. You leaned against him, your head resting on his chest, while you panted out a question. "Why did you look like you were trying to attract flies in your mouth?"
Chris groaned again, covering his eyes with a hand while the other rested on your back. "You're not going to let me live this down, are you?"
"Oh, God, no." you giggled, wiping the tears away, beginning to calm down. Glancing up at him, you noticed everything above the shoulders was gleaming red, the embarrassment too unbearable for him. "Chris, you looked exactly like the first time we were forced to share a bed together."
"Yeah, you have that affect on me."
"You gonna tell me why you looked so ... shocked? Or do I have to search through Twitter and go with whatever fan theory makes the most sense?" you asked, unable to keep the smug grin off your face. Chris closed his eyes, wishing he hadn't made you come to the awards show in the first place. You raised an eyebrow, fingers itching towards his phone. "You know I'll do it, Evans."
The man raised his hands, taking them off of you as he paced around the bathroom, deciding if this embarrassing moment was the right time to finally confess. "It's just, you know, the dance was so ... sexual and hot that I probably wasn't the only one looking at you like that. You can't exactly blame me for being shocked, watching the girl I'm in love with—"
Chris stopped as you be watched the colors drain out of your face, immediately freezing when he realized what he had said. Both of you stared at each other, eyes wide, not moving a muscle, barely blinking; the atmosphere so tense neither of you were breathing, waiting for the other to talk. But neither of you wanted to go first, terrified.
It wasn't until you started to feel dizzy that you realized you hadn't been breathing, letting out a huge breath, trying to relax while Chris did the same, his hands shaking, a nervous tick he got whenever he was anxious. You got the courage to speak first.
"What?"
It was better than nothing.
Chris was so nervous he nearly ran out of the room. There wasn't some kind of handbook or script he could read, helping him tell one of his best friends how head over heels he was for her. So, he said what his brain was stewing. "What?"
"What—what?" you replied, unsure if he even said the L word, so lightheaded by the sudden confession.
The actor stilled, eyes widening even further, while his eyebrows shot up his forehead. "What?"
"What?"
"What?"
"Say what one more time, Evans, and I will make nothing but mac and cheese for the rest of your stay." you threatened softly, getting tired of not having an answer to your one-worded question.
Chris took a deep breath, hands trembling as he clasped them together, hoping to find the right words, hoping his inner thoughts would come out clear, giving you the answer you asked for. "I'm sorry. What do you want me to say?"
"What you were saying before. You know, before you looked like you saw a ghost and almost stopped breathing. I think that would be a good start." you replied, backing up to take a seat on the plush chair. Chris mirrored your actions, putting down the lid to the toilet before sitting down.
"This isn't the way I wanted you to find out." Chris whispered, his blue eyes trained on the emotions that flashed on your face. Your uncertainty of the situation didn't help his anxiety.
"Okay, um, were you going to tell me in the first place?" you asked, playing with the hem of your shirt—it had been a borrowed Patriots shirt from him. Looking back, you realized all the little things he'd done hadn't been because his platonic love for you. "Or were you just going to keep letting it be this way?"
Fidgeting with his hands, Chris peered through his eyelashes, seeing the hurt flash across your face before you quickly composed it. "Scott was hyping me up, trying to convince me to tell you before you got into another relationship. Do you know the real reason I broke up with Jenny? It hurt like hell when you announced you were engaged. Fuck, I couldn't even pretend to be happy because you were going to have the life I wanted with you, with someone who wasn't me. It was selfish and I got really mad at myself for being a dick."
"But—"
"And then the horrible, horrible relief I felt when you called off the engagement." Chris continued, his heart clenching. "Truth to be told, that was the day I found out I was in love with you, breaking things off with Jenny. Of course, I wanted to wait until you moved on, hoping to be the friend you went to but with my schedule, that was impossible. So, you seemed out comfort in Henry fucking Cavill."
"You're in love with me?" you whispered, hoping this wasn't some kind of cruel dream. If it was, you wouldn't mind staying.
The actor nodded, waiting for you to call him names and rush out. "Yes. You can leave or slap me or whatever you want to do but I love you."
You got up, running a hand through your hair. "Okay."
Chris' heart sank, wishing for any other kind of reaction, wishing you'd do something. Taking a deep breath, he got up. "Is this a goodbye?"
Frowning, you walked up to him, taking his face between with your hands, pressing your lips softly to his. You could feel his heart beat, the little organ beating so hard. You pulled away before he could recover from his shock, before he could kiss you back.
"Hello."

rules : post the top 5 works you're most proud of that you released this year (not necessarily your most popular), your top 4 current WIPs that you're excited to release in the new year, your top 3 biggest improvements in your writing over the past year, your top 2 resolutions (ways you wish to improve your writing/blog) for the new year, and your number 1 favorite line you've written this year!
 → 5 works i'm most proud of
↳ i've been missing you myg the first fanfic i wrote with more than 2k words. I was procastinating the whole time to finish it, but when i did and looked at the word count, I was shocked. turns out I can write "long" works, pat on the back for me.
↳ grey area jjk my first angst. I was so insecure in my abilities of writing angst, and now I'm kind of obsessed with it, lmao.
↳ call me papi ksj this one should've been longer, to be honest. It's my favorite papi!jin installment so far. Thank you @eatjeanjin & @triviafics for the stroke of genius. The things awoken in me by this piece... anyways...
↳ competitive knj oh, competitive is my favorite one shot. I loved writing this so much, ugh! grad school!namjoon is bae! the chemistry, the sexual tension.... i'm proud of myself with this one
↳ bts reaction: you wearing a bonnet to bed ot7 this one is number one for me. being black, sometimes i don't feel like i fit in anywhere, and I know that if i'm feeling like this, then there's other black women, fems, nonbinary babes, etc that also feel like this. this one is cutesy, cheesy, fluffy all the way through, and I think that's just what we deserve, a space to relax and take a deep breath. the one thing that i'm most proud of is being able to create a safe space to all poc and disenfranchised minorities, and for black women in specific, and to know there's almost 2 thousand of you following me is crazy, let me stop before i'm crying on the floor lmao, just know that i love you and i'll support you forever <3

Holy crap. Look at Kate Herron's shirt. When the Loki director pops up on Zoom, she's donning the most glorious image anyone will see since we laid eyes on Alligator Loki: A Teletubby wearing the Loki horns. Are the Teletubbies Loki variants? Sure, why not!
"I got it on Instagram," Herron says. "There's an amazing comic book artist and he designed it. He made it into a T-shirt for me because I saw it and was like, 'That's incredible. Can I get it for the press junket?'"
Herron, no big deal, just pulled off an MCU miracle. Entering a mammoth franchise with, notably, some of Sex Education's best episodes under her belt, the director deftly brought a plot involving multiverses and Richard E. Grant in a cape and superhero mumbo-jumbo to brilliant, beautiful life. Following Loki's tear-jerking, mind-bending finale, the series has been dubbed by critics and fan's alike as one of Marvel's best efforts—which is no small feat. Of course, we needed to ask Herron how she stuck the landing. Following the most epic finale you, me, or any Teletubby can remember, Herron talked to Esquire about the Miss Minutes jump scare, filming the finale's introduction of He Who Remains, and why she won't return for Season Two of Loki.
ESQ: How are you doing?
KH: I'm good. I think I feel very relieved that I don't have to sit on the secret of He Who Remains anymore, It was a very big secret to hold, but for an important reason, right? Because it's such a good character to be launching. So yeah, I feel good.
ESQ: Loking back at your old interviews, you have such a good poker face when you're avoiding spoilers, but you're also incredible at giving aggregator crumbs.
KH: I play a lot of board games, so you need to be quite good at strategy and poker faces so people can't always read your hand. So I think weirdly board games have prepared me more for working with Marvel than anything else.
ESQ: I have to start with the Miss Minutes jump scare. What went into the decision to make her a memeable, creepy apparition in that moment?
KH: I love horror, and my executive, Kevin Wright, knew that. Me and him were talking about Episode Six and I remember that he was like, "Oh, maybe you could do something creepy of Miss Minutes." And I immediately was like, "We have to do a jump scare!" Because I haven't got to do a good jump scare in anything yet and I really wanted to, because a lot of my friends are horror directors. I was like, "I can't let them down." So I was really excited to have a shot at doing a jump scare. And Miss Minutes, it was really fun testing it because we'd kind of bring different people into the edit, me and Emma McCleave, the editor, and we'd just play it for them, watch them, and check that they were jumping when we cut it.
ESQ: One thing that I think is getting missed in all the craziness is that we see a peak moment of the love story between Loki and Sylvie. Where does the finale leave the companionship that they found in each other?
KH: When I started the show, that was always in the DNA of it—that Loki was going to meet a version of himself and they were going to fall in love. And that's honestly what drew me into the story, because I directed Sex Education. I love stories about self-love and finding your identity and your people. Loki is such a broken character when we join him, and seeing him go on this amazing journey with all this growth and finding the good points of himself in seeing her—I think that was very beautiful. It's also paying respect to the fact that Sylvie's in a very different place to him. She hasn't had the Mobius therapy session. She even says, in Episode Five, "I don't know how to do this. I don't have friends." You really feel for her because she has been on the run and her whole life has been this mission.
It's almost funny because these characters are thousands of years old, but it's almost teenage the way they both talk about their feelings for each other. I think everyone can relate to that, right? In any new relationship, there's always that kind of awkwardness and like, "Oh God, am I too keen? The important thing was the hope—like when Sylvie and him kiss, I think it is genuine and it is coming from a place of these feelings they have for each other. Obviously she does push them through that door, but for me it was a goodbye and it was with heart. But it's kind of a goodbye in the sense of like, I care about you, but I'm going to do my mission because that's where I'm at.
ESQ: I would pay for you to direct the Sex Education episode where Otis falls through a portal into the multiverse, into the main MCU.
KH: He really looks like a Loki as well, which is so funny. I always thought that. I was like Asa does look like a Loki. It didn't come to pass or anything, but it would be interesting to do a Sex Ed-Marvel crossover. I wonder who all the different characters would be within the MCU, but it would be quite funny.
ESQ: You're right, he could pull off a teenage Loki.
KH: Yeah, like a teen or a very young ’20s, maybe. But it was just funny because I was like, "Oh yeah, he looks a bit like Tom." I wonder how they could do it. I'm sure they'll find a way to do a crossover anyway.
ESQ: Can you just take me back to filming with Jonathan Majors? And you capturing him in such a compelling, quirky, scary way—I'm sure your direction was such a big part of that.
KH: I was just so excited because Jonathan is an actor that everyone was so excited about. He's like a chameleon in everything he does and he's so talented. I just feel as a director so lucky to have worked on this because I feel like I've got to work with some of the best actors out there. And when you're with Jonathan, you know you're in the presence of just someone really magnificent. For me as a director, it's giving him the space to play and feel safe. Because we filmed it all in a week, but it was a lot to film in a week. So I think it was really about creating a space where he could have fun and find this character because he's going to be playing him for a long time.
ESQ: What went into the decision to introduce us to the good guy first?
KH: I remember in the script, he comes up the elevator and it was so casual. I was like, "Oh man, that's so fun." And then Jonathan, when he plays it, he's relaxed. And I the thing he used to talk about a lot was that this is a character who's been on his own for a long time. Because at the beginning, we introduced him in a space in the universe that feels like this very busy, loud place, but actually, when we see the Citadel, he's surrounded by the Timeline and he's very isolated. Even in his costume with [designer] Christine Wada, for the idea of his outfit, he's a character who's existed for multiple millennia. So it's like, OK, let's pull from lots of different places so you can't necessarily pin down which time or which place he might be from. Also the fact that his clothes look comfy. They were like pajamas because he's living at home. He loved the idea of the office [being] the only finished part of the citadel and that the rest of the citadel was like this Sunset Boulevard kind of dusty, dilapidated space. And just again showed that he probably just keeps himself to his office. All those elements definitely fed into Jonathan's performance in terms of balancing the extrovert, but also the introvert of someone that would be living by themselves and only talking to a cartoon clock.
ESQ: It really is incredible how you pull a nail-biting finale with this battle of wits and dialogue.
KH: It was really exciting because I feel like Episode Five was a lot of fun because we got to play into all the joy of the different versions of Loki, but also just the fact that it was our big usual Marvel third act, right? Like it was where our big spectacle was as they were fighting this big monster. But I love that our finale bookends, right? We began with a conversation and we ended with one.
ESQ: I also loved that there was no end-credits scene—I think it makes the ending that much more impactful. Was there ever an end credit scene on the table, or any kind of a stinger?
KH: I think no, because weirdly, we never went after the kind of mid-credit sequences. I think we always just were thinking just of the story and where we knew we wanted it to end. For example, Episode Four, originally Loki was deleted and then we went straight to him waking up. And it was only in the edit I was like, “I think it'd be really cool actually. We should move that scene to mid-credits because then we'll really feel like Loki has died." Because if I watched that moment and then it went to the credits, I'd be like, "What?!" And then when we were talking about the best way to talk about Season Two, we were like, "Okay, well, let's do that like a little mid-credits at the end because that is exciting to confirm it in that way." I'd say we found both of those in the edit just because we wanted to kind of do it right and have a fun nod to something that Marvel does so well.
ESQ: Is there anything you can tell about the future of the story you've told here—or even where you personally would like to go with the studio or otherwise going forward?
KH: Yeah, so I'm just on for Season One. So I'm so proud of the story we told. I mean, it was amazing getting to set up the TVA and take Loki on this whole new journey. And I mean, I think we've left so much groundwork for his character, and as people see in the comics, there's so much more to be delved into. And I just am excited honestly to just see where all the characters go. Like, who is B-15? What did she see in those memories and where did Ravonna go and where is Loki? I think for me, we've set up these questions and I look forward to seeing them being answered as a fan in the next season.
ESQ: Absolutely. Well, can we please work on the Asa Butterfield Loki?
KH: I will call him and I'll be like, "You want to do some crazy Marvel crossover?"

I have been thinking about doing audios, but I do not know where I would even begin. Do you have any advice for people who are considering starting their own audio channel?
someone else asked this earlier today but in the middle of a request ask so i didn't want to answer it and lose the request so hey@viktor-silco-jinx . i'm amazed that any wants to come to me for advice, and i really wish i could give you some but uh... i've only been doing this for less than 2 months. i suppose what helped is that i've been listening to other people's audios for years and years, my main inspirations being@tomhiddlestonsoundalike and @kinkradio (the later of which i've been fortunate enough to be able to support on patreon on and off over the years).
i suppose i haven't found it at all very complicated just because i've been lucky in skills and things i already had access too. definitly have a decent microphone, i use a blue yeti which i chose from seeing some asmr youtubers use. for editing, i already have an above creative cloud subscription because of my actual main job so i use after effects and premiere (because i'm awkward and extra and use after effects to have the little audio wave in my videos) but you don't need a fancy program, just any basic video editing software - that's if you want to upload your audios as videos. for recording i just use audacity which is free. i've only used adobe audition to do the more complex effects on my springtrap voice.
i suppose that's not really advice though rather than like a tutorial. i really don't know what to say. i didn't have anyone give me advice, i didn't have any help. i just guessed everything i did and hoped it worked out. the only things that got my videos/audios noticed is literally just knowing what hashtags to use when i post. a lot of people don't know audios are a thing so i use 'viktor x reader' fanfic tags, i picked a character from a series that is new and popular at the moment. yes i already had about 600 followers on here before i'd started making audios, but i didn't have any on youtube and idk how i got views there. i just posted things and i guess some people were looking for viktor arcane asmr.
i guess all i can think of to say in terms of things that might help your audios get noticed is using tags wisely and if you want to do fandom characters then try and do ones from new media that's 'relevant' at the moment, if you just want to post original n-sfw audios then i'd reccomend posting them to r/gonewildaudio r/gonewildaudiogay r/gonewideaudiotrans (posting on there changed my soundgasm play count from the hundereds to the thousands). i've heard some youtubers say having a sheduele helps, like i post bi-weekly on the same days every week at the same time so people idk get used to it or add it to their routine.
unlike most audio creators (those that do youtube / character roleplays), i don't script my audios. so i don't have the added time of writing. and i'm only able to improv probably because i have been writing fanfic for years and idk i always wrote when i was young and daydream... way... too much so me improving these audios is just the same as when i daydream and say things out loud. so i don't know how to give advice in that area.
i don't know if any of this is helpful. all i did was post my audios the same as i've always posted anything else, photos and writing and art and whatever, to social media. and because people were looking at the tags i used people noticed them. opening up for requests also helped i guess because then people were sending more asks and comments and engaging with the posts in the hopes i'd fulfill their requests.
i feel like non of this was helpful. i've been a little dreading someone asking me this because honestly i don't know. i just posted things and people say them. there wasn't any special trick.
i'd been trying to make audios for 3+ years when i finally posted my first viktor audio at the end of december. i bought my microphone in 2018 for this purpose. even recorded a couple audios. and then it just sat there. and i never posted the audios. (and also had the oh i'm trans thing and was in my final year of uni at the time and just life stress) but then i wrote a jaskier script and tried to record it in january 2020 and wrote more scripts at the time. but i kept getting interrupted when i recorded and i hated my voice so much i just.. i couldn't do it. the thing that made me go fuck it and record the viktor audio was 1. thinking about viktor way too much and relating to him 2. my income just suddenly dropped by a lot and i was freaking out so much and stressed all the time and thought well fuck it i've been trying to make an audio channel for years and if i can get any money out of anything else i really need to try. the reason why i wanted to make audios was in the hopes i'd find it fun and in the hopes that hey maybe others will get comfort out of these because there aren't many that are trans oriented, but what finally kicked me up the arse and made me get over my fear was a personal mini finical crisis. and i'm just very lucky that so far it's been working out. and i'm incredibly grateful.
