I just thought what type of personality is thier child like and what type of dad they are.

Example: Daniel's child will be a chubby child like he is, probably shy and cute child. Daniel would be a dad that give confident to his child so they won't exprience hardship like and also both of them will have a shenanigans of eating in the middle of the night.

It might be better if you're a single parent because he is gonna pass on some gnarly generational trauma. Your child will either end up like a mini-Samuel or fingers crossed there will be shitloads of therapy (for daddy and child).

Strives for perfection, and super ambitious. There's no avoiding some traits. Another natural leader, but rules less with an iron first than Sammy. Would be vain af, and looks after their appearance a LOT. A bit shallow and judgemental but will eventually grow out of it.

Shrewd af and always knows what's going on. Good luck to their kid because there is no lying to Goo. He'll play along and then drop the hammer. However, a bit too lenient so you would have to be the disciplinarian. Lets the kid just get on with things and learn by experience. "Oh you wanna play with the sword? Have fun!" "GOO NO-!"

Little shit. Sorry there's just no way they wouldn't be a mouthy little asshole. Goo would make sure they respect the parents, but otherwise they are a danger to society. A troublemaker. Figures out all the loopholes to any rules and laws... A constant headache but you can't help but be impressed.

Gun Park

As a dad

Does a lot of research before their kid is born. This guy is pretty thorough with things he is interested in, so if he's taking an active part in the kid's life then he will be meticiulous. Initially. Then, like Goo, will let their kid make their own mistakes. Otherwise, very hands on, doesn't believe in outdated parental roles. After all, this is Gun's ultimate masterpiece.

The kid

Christ. This kid could be the most intimidating child to have ever lived. Not as intense as their dad, but they are playing 5D chess while everyone else is just learning their shapes and numbers. They're cocky and confident, with the skills to back it up.

As a dad

Extremely similar to Goo imo. Would also love to embarrass the kid. Not purposely mind, just he can't keep his hands off or kissing you and no kid needs to see their parents so grossly in love.

An absolute menace, just like their dad. Huge prankster, mostly harmless. Don't get them together with Goo's kid because jfc they would be absolute terrors together. Unlike their dad in his youth, they would respect the shit out of women. You've seen to that.

As a dad

Probably a little cold and severe, putting a bit too much emphasis on grades and perfection. Despite that, would actually be pretty good. Someone that reads up a lot on how to raise a kid, bonding with them etc etc. to form a somewhat healthy relationship.

The kid

Private school little wunderkind. Will grow up with the absolute best of everything and spoilt too so you would need to keep them grounded. Expected to take over Workers. Business acument and ambition will be drilled into them from an early age.

Vasco

As a dad

What is there to say about Tabasco that we don't already know. Would dote on them hand and foot. An absolute pushover! Their kid pulls out the puppy eyes and it's game over. Would teach them to protect themselves but probably draw the line at anything more.

The kid

Really creative? Vasco would place less emphasis on grades and would help to nurture their interest in the arts. But actually super smart too thanks to Uncle Jace's influence. Tbh I think the kid would be pretty perfect and with the kindest heart and stands up to bullies just like dad!

Zack Lee

As a dad

So so similar to Vasco. Has all these ideas on what they should and shouldn't do as a parent. Kid pops out, and Zack's a goner. Literally would do anything and everything for their child. Go absolutely crazy with pride if the kid is interested in boxing.

The kid

Would have no game... Like dad. Sorry. Good job they would be good looking af to even it out. Not a huge emphasis on education and grades thanks to Zack's influence. More focused on athletics. A little shallow and arrogant, but a huge softy underneath.

Johan Seong

As a dad

Panic and anxiety from the day their kid was born and every day after. First because of worrying about their eyes, second because he's just not comfortable with having an actual dependent. Tries to teach them about the evils of the world. Eventually chills out overall and reverts back to being the gentle-hearted boy he used to be.

The kid

For practical reasons, taught braille from an early age just in case. But otherwise a mini-Johan but without the trauma. Very softly spoken and sweet. Just an absolute ray of sunshine. Always accompanied by their dog, their bff and partner when a fight arises.

It had been a month since my fall at the Etihad. Since I had made it to the news because someone had reported that the woman rolling down the stairs was Rúben Dias girlfriend and that that was the reason why he had run to her aid half way through the team’s warm-up. Turns out that I wasn’t dreaming when I thought I had heard his voice.

And, of course, after being on tv now everyone knew about us, my parents included. After a few calls from my mum asking me how I was, she had finally convinced my dad to come visit me in Manchester, see with her own eyes that I was actually ok and that I wasn't lying every time she had called me, and also meet Rúben.

“Can you please stop? You are making me nervous” he said.

“I can’t. This is huge, Rúben. Like… huge” I said, dramatically lifting my arms in the air. “It’s not just that my parents are coming back to Manchester after ages and the possibility of us fixing things, but also ruining them forever. They are coming to meet you too. My boyfriend. The first I’m introducing them to.”

“Hopefully the last one too” he replied with his usual smirk.

“God, I hate you” I said, back to pacing around the living room. 

We were meeting at Lucy’s apartment since she and Julia were out with Rodri getting to know each other a bit more. Though Julia was already as in love with him as she was with Rúben.

“I love you too” he chuckled, those three words being something I still hadn’t been able to say despite being what I felt. 

“Urgh, that’s them” I said when I heard the door’s bell. 

“Relax, it’s gonna be ok” Rúben said, putting his hands on my shoulders. “I’ll charm them the same way I’ve done with your whole family.”

“Yeah, sure” I said, with a nervous laugh.

“I will. This is gonna work, ok?”

“Ok” I said, taking a deep breath.

“I love you” Rúben said.

“I love you too” I replied, not realising what I had said until I saw the smile on his face. I loved his smirk, but this one… This one had just become my new favourite smile.

“C´mon, let’s go meet my in-laws. We don’t want to keep them waiting” he said, taking my hand and walking towards the door.

And all that, takes us to the present day. 

"Do you know what day it is today?" Rúben asks me as we walk towards our apartment. Because his apartment, is ours now.

Lucy and Julia have moved to Rodri's house, where she is loving having a huge garden to play football with him. Though what she is loving the most, is the idea of becoming a big sister in just a few months.

"It wasn't planned, it just happened" Lucy shrugged after sharing the news. "But I know he is the one, and not because every single person that knows me has said it. It is because I can feel it. It is different to what I've felt with all the other guys I've been with before, my ex included. He is the one."

After they left, Rúben asked me to move in with him, and I obviously said yes. Now I still take care of Julia from time to time when both Lucy and Rodri are busy, but I am not her nanny anymore.

"I'm 6 now! I don't need a nanny, that's for babies" she said one day. 

What I keep doing tho, is being her piano teacher. Hers, and a bunch of kids from her school. We’ve kept the piano at Lucy’s apartment, only going there for my lessons so we don’t bother Rúben. But besides teaching, I’m also playing at events and weddings all over the country. It doesn’t matter if they are posh or tacky, if they have a low budget or lots of money. If I like the people I’m playing for, I say yes. 

My dad didn't like the idea at first and said that, of course, I should focus on teaching. But when he saw how much I was earning by playing on those events, he changed his mind. And I want to think that the fact that he was seeing me enjoying playing the piano for the first time in my life, also had something to do with it. 

And things have also kept getting better and better between us. He has joined grandad and I at some Arsenal games, and Rúben got to charm him just as he said he would. Though I must confess I still am getting used to how well they get along. Seeing them laughing together feels so weird… 

"Do you remember or not?" Rúben asks me again when we make it to the front door, the new doorman opening it for us. Roger retired and he is now living in the countryside with his wife.

"Wednesday?"

"That's now what I asked. The number."

"Eh… 10th?"

"Urgh" he says, rolling his eyes. "Today, three years ago, we met for the first time. And it happened here, in front of this lift."

It had been three years already. Three years since I met Julia at the shopping centre. Since Lucy asked me to work for her. Since Rúben and I crossed paths on this same spot and I just froze in place. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen, and he still is. 

"I remember the way you looked at me" he chuckles. "You couldn't stop staring."

"I probably looked like an idiot. Or a creep."

"You looked very cute" he says, calling for the lift. "I couldn't stop thinking about you, about who you could be."

"Really?" I ask. He had never told me about it, about what he had felt when we first met. In my case, I didn't have to tell him. As usual, my face had said it all.

"Really. I don't know what it was, but there was something special about you. It felt... Different."

"Lucy would call that the one feeling" I chuckle.

"The what?" 

"The feeling you get when you meet the right person. The one" I say, walking into the lift.

"Interesting… But you know," Rúben says, walking behind me and pressing our floor's number. "This lift isn't just important because we met here for the first time. It also is important because it brought us together again."

"Oh, please. Don't remind me of that day."

"It wasn’t that bad" Rúben says with that smirk of his.

"The beginning was really bad. The end, not so much" I say, mimicking his smile.

"That's what I thought. And here is the thing" he says, stopping the lift.

"Rúben, what are you doing?"

"Listen to me" he says, taking my hands on his. "You just said it yourself, that what I felt when I first met you was because you were the one. And it's the truth. You are my one. The one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I had a list of things I wanted to tell you, but I’m too nervous and I've forgotten most of them, so I'll keep it simple" he says, letting go of my hands and getting on one knee. "Will you marry me?" 

"Rúben, I..." I mumble, watching him get a small box from his pocket and opening it, the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen inside it. "Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure or serious about anything in my life. So I'll ask again, here, on this lift that brought us together. Twice. Will you marry me?"

"Yes" I say, my voice shaking. "Yes, Rúben, I will marry you."

I barely give him any time to get up, throwing myself at him and kissing him. A kiss, that three years later, keeps feeling and being movie worth it.

"I love you" he whispers, his lips still on mine.

"I love you too" I reply.

"But before we keep making out, can I put this on your finger?" he says, showing me box.

"Yes, of course."

"I hope it fits" he chuckles. "Lucy said it was the right size."

"She knows?"

"She knows" he smiles. "And she was right. Perfect."

"Wow" I say, inspecting it closer. "It's beautiful, Rúben."

"Do you like it?"

"I love it. Though not as much as I love you" I say, kissing him again.

"We should probably go home, don't you think?" he says. "Continue with the celebrations there."

"I like how that sounds. Very very much."

But the moment the lift's doors open on our floor...

"Congratulations!" our friends and families scream.

"What the..." I mutter, my heart on my throat. "What is this?"

"A surprise party to celebrate our engagement" Rúben says, hugging me from behind.

"So… they all knew?"

"Yep" he replies, kissing my neck.

"What if I had said no?"

"Oh, c'mon, that was impossible" Lucy says, coming to give a hug. "He is your one, remember?"

"He is, yes" I say, looking at him while Rodri and Ivan congratulate Rúben, a big smile on my face. "He is the one."

Don’t know why but the thought of JackieNat as roommates during their senior year or after college is giving me such insane brain rot.

- Jackie’s parent’s pay for her half of the rent, while Natalie has to work, sometimes a lot, so Jackie has started getting up early to make breakfast and lunches for Nat, so she can eat before/at work. At first it was really bad, cause Jackie can probably barely work a toaster, and Natalie could only take a bite or two for Jackie’s sake and then throw away what she couldn’t bare to eat. But Jackie gets the hang of it eventually and Natalie really looks forward to eating lunch, cause Jackie writes her little notes with it.

- Natalie and Jackie got close but Jackie didn’t know everything about Nat, cause when she walked into the apartment and was greeted by an ugly, straggly (previously stray) cat, she is surprised, to say the least. Natalie introduces him as “Shithead, the cat she found in a dumpster”, and Jackie has to force a smile and pretend she doesn’t absolutely HATE cats. For a while Jackie was convinced the cat is plotting her murder cause it would follow her EVERYWHERE, occasionally swipe his paw in the space under Jackie’s door, and just sit and stare at her. Natalie tells Jackie it’s just cause he likes her and he’s curious, but Jackie doesn’t believe her. Weeks later after a double shift at work, Natalie comes home to find Jackie on the couch, Shithead on Jackie’s chest, purring with his eyes closed as Jackie scratches his chin and cheeks as Jackie’s just smiling ear to ear at the cat. Jackie calls Natalie and herself, his parents from that point on.

- Jackie and Natalie at first fought about what to watch because there is only one TV and Jackie comes to the conclusion if Nat just watched what Jackie wanted it would be fine, So she forces Nat to watch all her shitty reality romance/dating shows, at first Natalie HATES it, she just goes to her room and doesn’t watch, but there was one night where she was too tired to move and she ended up getting invested. Now they watch it together every Thursday night.

- Jackie single handedly improves Nat’s living standards, because Natalie lives like a divorced dad, or a frat guy and it knocks Jackie off of her feet. Natalie uses lawn chairs at the dining table and she doesn’t have a bed frame, Jackie saw those things and nearly had a panic attack. So Jackie gets them ACTUAL furniture, because despite how much Nat argues it, one beanbag in the middle of the living room doesn’t count as a chair. She decorates the place, and Natalie actually likes how it turns out.

- They host little movie nights for the girls to come by, and by ‘they’ it’s mostly Jackie, she makes snacks and drinks and picks out the movie options. But Nat is hanging out with them and she’s happy and laughing and that’s enough for Jackie.

So sorry I went on a tangent here, I told you, I love their old married couple dynamic, hope your presentation went well <3

nat is strangely invested in one of the reality shows Jackie watches all the time. Nat's home sitting on the couch playing on her gameboy or some shit at like 8 pm on the dot every Thursday. she will take that secret to her grave, but Jackie knows damn well how into it she is.

Nat's never had a home before and kind of has a little freak out when she realizes that not only does she own more than she can carry, but that she's made her home with Jackie fucking Taylor.

nat loves movie nights because Jackie alternates letting her have a day in what they watch without a fight lmao. she also loves having like a scheduled weekly event because her family never had one of those as a kid. she mentions this to Jackie and jackie's like "you think I'm your family? 😁". cue nat crossing her arms petulantly and being like "Pff. Nooooo. 😳🙄"

But like, he has money for cigs.

He steals or pickpockets.

Maybe some deals, betting... Doesn't even cheat, he's just good and lucky.

Beats people up for money too.

And has senpaiis is the delinquent world.

That's how he got his bike.

I headcanon him and Tetta go hang out and eat sometimes with Tetta's excuse being having to strategize.

And Tetta always pays.

He just does it, before Shu can't even say or do anything.

Shu probably gets seconds yet Kisaki is so used to it he doesn't question it. Just scoffs at him but nevertheless still pays.

He scolds him for eating like a pig but then side eyes him worriedly if he eats less.

And goes like "It's rude to not even eat what I'm getting you".

Will NEVER say that he just worries about him lmao.

Mikey needs a photographer for something as a racer and before Koko recommends someone Tetta goes "I'll call Hanma." And leaves.

HEADCANON : MILLIE - FAMILY DYNAMICS.

on today's episode of Ruby Reading too deep into a Cartoon Character, i'm gonna be discussing the family dynamic of the Cleaves that we the audience see in the episode Harvest Moon Festival !

[ mun's note : this post is made purely for fun, i have nothing against Millie's current canon portrayal or those who choose to portray her ! this is just me making note and overanalyzing character interactions because i am STARVED for Millie lore !! ]

So first thing's first, when we're introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Cleaves, it's very obvious that Millie is a daddy's girl through and though ; interestingly, she's not as casual with her mom, Lin, as she is with her dad, Joe.

Not even two minutes after Millie and her friends arrive and pleasantries are shared, Lin is quick to playfully criticize her daughter's choice of work, which Millie brushes off. this, interestingly, gives us our first strained mother-daughter dynamic of the series -- granted, Millie's parents are by far the healthiest examples of what a parent in comparison to what we've seen so far, but they also don't get much screen time in comparison to similar parental characters like Cash, Paimon, and Stella.

After meeting her parents, we're not introduced to Millie's siblings until after Moxxie's failed hog-killing, and even then we're only introduced to Sallie May and none of her plethora of brothers even get a line of dialogue ; i suppose that's what happens when you decide to give a character lots of siblings but they're meant to be npc's/filler for the background or family pictures.

As far as the sibling age hierarchy goes, i have it set up as : Austin, Millie, Sallie May, Dustin, Mikey, and Tommy.

While the episode continues on, we take notice of just how critical AND hypocritical Lin is when Millie shows distain for not being " allowed " to play in the Pain Games for... being too violent ? when not long before that, Lin was blissfully reminiscing about her memories involving war ? and Sallie is clearly seen going about her business hiding a body with one of their little brothers ??

And then Lin has the NERVE to scold Millie for not being able to hold her own when she went into an unfocused fury when her husband's life was in danger ! of course, Joe is being quite passive when this exchange happens, letting Lin do the talking while he nods along, so he's not much better when it comes to his views on how Millie should've handled the situation. of course, despite this being MILLIE'S FAMILY RANCH, this is a fairly Moxxie-centric episode, and he stands up for his wife rather than let her take the full brunt of her parent's criticisms -- i don't mind that this happened, though i feel it should've been an opportunity for Millie to stand up to her parents and maybe even put up boundaries between her and her folks.

OR, even better idea : her siblings could have stuck up for their sister and called out the parents for their clear hypocrisy, especially given that they weren't the ones in the confrontation between Millie and Striker. but, of course, they're mostly there to fill up space, so we don't get that... Moxxie gets his acknowledgement from her parents, sure, but at least the team goes home with some broken bones and +1 Holy Rifle !

It's December 16th, the day Tony's parents died, and you sometimes mention wanting to talk about it some more, so... share your thoughts? 🤔

I know he would be excited! Whether because it gives him time to have the house to himself a while, like his own vacation, or maybe because he and Rhodey and/or his partner could have their own little Christmas party before his parents came home! Plus, he and his dad did get into it before they left, and maybe he low key wants to apologize when they come home or like, at least try to make Christmas fun and happy and relaxed when they get back! And maybe he even got his mom something 🥰

It’s probably in the wee hours of the morning that Tony, who probably doesn’t have anyone over yet anyway and may be a little tipsy still and just went to bed, is probably petrified when he opens the door to a few cops. A very sobering experience for him already when they woke him up with aggressive knocks on the door. He’s scared and untrusting, but reluctantly allows them in. He’s never been in this situation, and when anyone random shows up he can just go get his mom or dad! And they probably offer a seat the table or something. Something that may be a little more relaxing than standing around, but nothing is relaxing about what they say. He probably gets mostly unresponsive, so they leave and offer to come back later or something but he doesn’t really give them a time. Jarvis probably finds him still in that chair when he comes by later in the morning. I mean, what else was he supposed to do? What else was he going to do? Jarvis, of course, already knows and simply sits down next to him at the table. What is he suppsed to say? Either of them? Instead of focusing on it, Jarvis probably just tells Tony he should be in bed, knowing he’s probably barely slept and decrying not well at this table and in that chair.

I imagine Jarvis probably played a pretty big role here. Someone had to check up on Tony and take care of him for a while. Sure, Tony’s had some level of depressive-relative symptoms and episodes, but this wasn’t like that. I’m sure for the first several days, he hardly left his room, hardly left his bed, aside from showing up to the funeral. Which… happened surprisingly fast, he thinks. Even then, he and Jarvis probably still hadn’t had an outright conversation about it. Instead, he dropped by to check on him, and probably even cooked for him, and probably was pretty good at making him at least a little bit, and forcing him to take care of himself a little bit. Probably in the same ways he did when Tony was a child! And honestly… he’s probably just as lost as Tony. Asking… now what? Tony is also almost all he has left at the moment. And I’m sure he’s very protective! Stane is probably very quick to want to start with the whole transfers of power. With lawyers and documents and stuff. I’m sure Jarvis often ran him off until he felt that To y was in a better state of mind to under those kinds of decisions.

The house is probably still decorated for Christmas, and all those gifts are still under the tree. And a bit after the new year, once Tony is a little more out and about, Jarvis probably has him go through them… and the pile of gifts from people he hardly or doesn’t even know. Condolences and all, and it was Christmas so… plenty of people probably felt the need to send more than a “sorry for your loss” card. But the task is so overwhelming. He really doesn’t want to but… Jarvis helps him. And it’s probably the only other time besides the funeral that Tony cries, and then Jarvis lets him stop. But he probably finishes up for him, sorting through what’s useless and what’s okay and what’s useful. And after the 50th “sorry” card, it really starts feeling like anything but.

And the first time the two ever have an actual conversation about it, is probably when he’s managed to convince Tony to go through a few things. Things he might want to keep for himself and such, considering he’s inherited all of this. Everything. In fact, it’s probably about to be rhetorical first day on the new job. Jarvis suggests he look through some of Howard’s watches and ties and tiepins— something to help him keep living on in memory, perhaps? He talks about how his dad loved his ornaments here, even the ones Tony has never seen. And somehow, that turns into a conversation about how Howard did love his son, but… it probably doesn’t go over very well, as he honestly expected. But he is glad to see that Tony does wear that watch he took a certain liking too, that his dad did like but never wore.

And Jarvis probably hates seeing what Tony is becoming. He probably tells him that. So he’s probably a tiny bit relieved when Jarvis eventually passes too. Not because he hates being judged, which is true, but because he probably felt like a huge burden on the last person left to care about him, and who has had to take care of him for his entire life, and whom he was letting down. But it’s definitely when he realizes he can’t take it anymore. He can’t stay here anymore.

He definitely never decorates his home or his office. First of all, what’s the point? The last time he stepped foot out of his parent’s house, it was probably still decorated for Christmas. Maybe it’s silly at this point, but he’s a little scared of what seeing his new home decorated might make him feel. And he hates coming home to find another pile of complimentary and ass-kissing gifts from people he hardly knows or doesn’t even know. And preferably Rhodey is the one this time helping him get through them when he can, or Happy or Pepper. Only one each time, though. Honestly, most of that shit probably goes to them anyway.

Eventually, he can find enjoyment and happiness somewhere in there again, mostly with the help of a partner or it probably takes time all the way up until he has kids. But the pain never fully goes away, he just eventually starts talking more about the good memories than focusing on what happened.

Hi, it’s the doggie anon! Thank you for such a kind, generous answer 🥺

I’m working on a (highly scientific) theory that every dog has a personality that matches with a character from Winnie the Pooh, and mine was a Piglet all the way: small, sweet, gentle, affectionate, loyal, and very timid around anything or anyone new (also cutely round in the torso and skinny in the legs).

She was meant to be my mom’s dog, but she sort of picked me instead, although she loved everyone in my family. There was and is something really precious about that to me, being chosen. I’ve never been anyone’s favorite, except hers.

At first she slept in my parents’ room, but after they went to bed she kept sneaking out through the dog door and coming around to the sliding glass door in the kitchen, where I’d hear the tap-tapping of her little nails politely asking me to let her in. She started sleeping in my room after that. She was my buddy and I got so used to hearing the pitter-patter of her little feet following me around the house that I think I took it for granted sometimes.

One of her funniest habits when she was younger was doing these loud, high-pitched shrieks of excitement when we came home from being out. She was so happy to have her family back home again. (She also did this when my dad played the harmonica.) Another funny habit of hers was jumping onto a kitchen chair, and from there onto the table, and helping herself to any food or crumbs she found there. I still remember that image, walking into the kitchen to find a small, suddenly guilty-looking poodle on the middle of the table, licking a plate. She was a silly girl, but such a good one.

(I know exactly what you mean about missing those little tip-taps of claws on the floor. My dog developed separation anxiety as he got older, so I was being followed around constantly. It's very strange now. And the nights have become eerily quiet. Where's the snuffling and the snoring 😔)

I adore your theory about dog personalities. But I'm afraid I can't really place mine ? Probably because my knowledge of Winnie the Pooh characters is lacking. Maybe you can do a remote diagnosis :D

My little Benny was full of mischief. His first act of deception? Transformation! When we got him as a puppy, he was pitch black with brown paws. One year later he'd turned silver grey with light beige paws. No one wanted to believe that it was the same dog. Absolute rascal!

We always teased him for being a little drama queen. He hated water. When it drizzled he would take two steps outside, do an immediate u-turn and try to get back into the house. No matter how urgently he had to pee, it could wait. And I told him, after he had braved the rain, what a poor little guy he was for getting wet and toweled him off especially well, which he relished in. He loved getting pampered.

He had the soggiest, wettest poor-little-meow-meow look on his face when he had a tiny little boo boo or had to endure something that made him uncomfortable, but whenever he had an actual reason to be mopey, illness or injury or post-operation, he was really brave and would bear it exceptionally well. No massive soggy eyes. (These last few days of his especially he was so brave and strong <3)

Normally, he wasn't the brightest cookie in the jar, but he could be really cunning when it came to stealing food. Once in the middle of feeding time, he walked to the front door, started barking like mad as though someone had rung the doorbell, so my other dog shot out to the hallway to join him. He quickly stole back into the kitchen and ate all her food. Creating a diversion to trick my other dog to leave her bowl was a feat we hadn't thought him capable of, but clearly we underestimated his intelligence.

Another time he stole my greatest culinary creation, a waffle tower (several waffles stacked on top of each other with layers of jam in between). I left it on the coffee table, walked away for 20 seconds, came back and the entire massive thing was gone. Only thing left was Benny, gulping down the last bits of waffle like he was a snake trying to unhinge its jaw to eat a cow. He definitely knew to pick his moments of opportunity.

When he was younger, he loved to play with scrunchies, loved to pull them out of our hair when we were lounging with him on the floor. We'd make a big show of telling him off in a silly, exaggerated voice, which only increased his joy of stealing scrunchies and shaking them in his mouth, throwing them in the air and chasing after them.

He had a spot on his forehead right between his eyes that always smelled like powdered sugar. Conveniently also the best spot to dig your nose in cause the fur there was just sooo soft <3

He was such a sweet cuddly dog, inquisitive (to the point of being nosey - he literally had to poke his nose into everything to investigate, probably checking whether it was edible lol), < insatiable, a bit clumsy, loyal and affectionate to boot. He always did a tippy tappy dance with his front paws when he was excited, which happened so very easily.

Aaah, I waffled on and on. If anyone is still reading this, hee thanks. I'm rewarding you with a picture - evidence of mischief caused.

Can you see how utterly innocent he is? It seems the pillow jumped on its own.

I needed help, so I decided to see Elena. I didn’t really trust Elena because of that shady guy (her boyfriend), she worked for as a dancer in his club. Still, I’ve known Elena since I was a little girl. She was someone special to me during my childhood, just as I was to her. 

Our past

Elena met me at her parents' apartment. This was the place, where she and her sister grew up. I knew this place well. We were neighbors and lived in the same house. It wasn’t until I turned 9 or 10, that my parents could afford a nicer, bigger home for us. So many memories came up when I entered Elena’s home 😕.....Elena’s parents were very nice people. They came to Germany when Elena wasn’t born yet. At that time, war was in the Balkans and during the war in the former Yugoslavia, many people came to Germany. Elena’s mom was pregnant with her, but she was not allowed to stay in Germany, just her dad. So she went back to Belgrade (Serbia), where she originally came from, like my mom’s family. Seven years later, Elena & her sister came back to Germany with their mom....One day Ana and I were playing outside. Elena heard, that my sister and I spoke in their mother tongue, so she approached us and since then, we’ve been inseparable. Later when I moved from there with my parents, we haven’t seen each other that often, but when I was16 and started going to that one fucking club, I met Elena again. And just before I met Nico, Elena met this guy who owned a club and started working for him. Since then, I no longer saw her. Actually, I never knew exactly WHY she started working in this club as a dancer? 

Me: I never thought I’d come back to this place one day. I feel like when I was 8 years old. 😟

Elena: You were my marshmallow. 🤗

Me: My granma always brought us these marshmallow cookies from Italy. She knew how much you & I love them. I just got back from work and didn’t have time. But next time I bring you some. 

Elena: Back then those cookies always cheered us up when we were sad, but today..... everything looks a bit different. Cookies alone are not enough.😕

Me:  Sure, now that you’re with that weird guy who owns a club and hurts other people, cookies are probably not enough.🤨

Elena: You still think I knew about this shit that happened to David and your sister? I didn’t lie to you! 😩

Me: David recognized one of those guys! How can you protect someone like him? 🤷‍♀️

Elena: I DO NOT protect him and I abhor violence!! Besides, you’re here because you wanted my help. You don’t look good, marshmallow! 😟 Are you ok?

Elena: Please don’t go! I don’t want us to lose sight of each other again. And you were right! I don’t want to be with him anymore, so I’m here in my parents' apartment. But...how can I help you?

Me: I’m not judging you for falling in love with him. But it doesn’t matter! I am so desperate, that I would even be willing to do the same as you. 😔Getting involved with the devil....I really need to help Daniel. I don’t have time to explain what’s going on with him. Just, he really sucks....He did something stupid, just so I didn’t hurt. We’re out of money, Idk how to get him this damn shit?😢We don’t get our pills back until Friday, but we can’t wait that long or hold out! We’ll both lose our jobs and we can’t pay the rent anymore. Besides, who knows if we really get our pills on Friday? An official doctor has to approve this first , so it will probably continue for us until Monday anyway. 😰

Elena told me she wanted to break up with her boyfriend, the club owner she’s dancing for. She found out he lied to her about a lot of things and wants to leave. She wanted to emigrate to Amsterdam, where her dad was currently with his family as well as her sister Tina. Her bf, knew nothing about all this. Elena was afraid he would take away all the money she made, so she pretended to be together. She wanted to wait another 2 weeks until she had enough money to finally leave him. At that point, he thought she was staying with her parents because her dad was sick, but her dad wasn’t even there. She just wanted to get away from this guy! Why Elena suddenly changed her mind about him, she also told me.

Me: You knew what kind of guy he was from the beginning, you can’t tell me you had no idea about all this, Elena.🤨

Elena: Yes, I knew he was dealing drugs, but there are also some other things that I recently learned about him. And you know, I was in a really bad state back then. He was there for me! He helped me and took care of me. I, wanted to work as a dancer for him, he was against it at first, but I wanted to earn my own money. I needed it for my...... mom.😔 😢

Me: Elena!😦....Why are you crying? It’s not so bad. I mean, as long as he hasn’t forced you, there’s nothing wrong with doing this job. But what about your mom? Where is she, anyway?

Elena: You know my mom was sick, and because she couldn’t pay her hospital bills, I started this job in the first place. But all this was in vain.😔  My mom died last year.😭

I couldn’t believe it! I was really shocked and needed a while to say anything. This nice, young woman who always smiled and took care of everyone so lovingly was gone, forever! That’s how I remembered Elena’s mom. Now I also understood why her dad and sister flew to Amsterdam. Elena didn’t know if her dad would come back one day, but she had a hard time leaving the apartment. Everything reminded her of her mom. She didn’t want to leave it all behind. She said every time she came home, in this apartment where she grew up, she felt like her mom was there. We both cried and said nothing for a while. Elena wasn’t really addicted to drugs when she met her boyfriend. It was when she started working in his club, that she suddenly had access to all the drugs. When her mom died, she numbed her pain and grief with all these drugs. And so she stayed with him, because thanks to him, she never had trouble getting drugs.

Elena gave me some of that damn drug I needed. It was not much she had, so after we both shared a line, we thought about how to continue....

Elena: As soon as I have enough money, I’ll be gone! I’ll leave everything to do with him behind. But I have to be careful, not to let him know about my escape plan.😟

Me: I think I know who can help you hide until you’re actually gone. You know Dominick? He also lost his family last year.

Elena: This tall, sad guy with the military jacket?

Me: Yea.

Elena: You think he would help me, if my fucking bf gets something from my escape plan?

Me: I am pretty sure! And I’m not gonna let you down anyway, if our plan goes wrong.

Elena: I know, marshmallow! But first we help you and Daniel! We have to change now and then, you and I go to the club. I’ll pretend to come to work and while you’re waiting for me, I’ll get the drugs for you. I’m just gonna say you’re my old friend, which is true. But if anyone asks questions.....Let’s say I teach you how to dance! You’re supposed to be interested in this job. 🤷‍♀️

Me: Deal! I’ll just go to the club with you every time I need something and pretend I want to be a dancer.

Elena: As long as we let him and the guys who work there believe this, you can move freely there and take what you want. But still, we have to try to avoid him! He owns a second club, so he’s very busy rn. You know, thats good for us! ☝😏 ...But you don’t have to be afraid, he won’t hurt you! No one there! 🙂

Me: Yeah....Agh, let’s just do it! 🤷‍♀️

And so this short but pretty crazy journey began for me as a fake dancer.  And well, unfortunately it won’t be as easy as Elena and I imagined.

I figured I would share some personal headcannons about the kiddos just for fun!

I always imagined the Weir-Fields kids as twins for some reason. I can imagine the reader telling Calvin after an appointment that there’s two in there and him nearly passing out. They’d be partners in crime for life.

I can see Auggie growing up to be a teacher. He knew how his father grew up and never wants a kid to feel the way he did. August fortunately grew up around pure love from his parents and wants to pass that down to his students.

When Scout grows up and starts dating, Percy is definitely that dad who tries to intimidate the boy and goes undercover to follow them around town.

Olive and Juni would be best friends and would hang out together at every family event. They’ve both got spunk and sometimes their parents have to tell them to quiet down.

Ariel is like how I was as a kid—a diva but not disrespectful. She’s that girl who the teachers tell “this is a school, not a beauty salon”. She’s a mama’s girl until she grows older and comes to appreciate her dad’s nerdiness.

Sorry, that was a lot. I am autistic and I have taken a special interest in your writing. I hope you liked my little thoughts! -🥀

the way scout would yell at him oh my GOD. she’ll literally kick dust in his direction and tell him to scram before she comes home and tells you what he did. you have to tell percy to calm down and let your little girl do things on her own, she’s tough, smart, and has a reputation as “the little dolarhyde girl” behind her.

no because literally aunt olive loves her junebug. like olive may be 14 years older than her (she’s 7 in the movie, dwayne is about 14/15, you and dwayne have juni when you’re 22 which is about 7 years later, bada bing bada boom math, olive is 14), but juni makes her feel like a kid again and loves watching her grow☺️

OKAY YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. ariel loves fashion and being fancy like auntie danielle, and she’s such a diva but she has such a sweet heart. and as far as her father’s neediness goes, there’s definitely some of that passed down. when she’s older and going on dates and whatnot, if a boy asks her what she wants to do, she wants to have a star wars movie marathon. her shirt may be pink and cropped, but it says “star wars” on it in gold glitter so what are you gonna do?😔

another one who just can't say no his darling princess 😔 oikawa would spoil your daughter rotten, to the point where it becomes too much. anything she demands, he hands it to her on a gold platter. clothes, jewelry, toys, electronics, and even her own debit card 💀 (may i remind u d/n's only 6) it's gotten to the stage wherein your daughter was growing up to be super stuck up and over her head. you tried putting her in her place, but the brat doesn't listen to you. lol she doesn't even listen to her father. but to be fair, oikawa doesn't even try scolding d/n, all she has to do is whine and throw out her puppy dog eyes and all is forgiven. but u know who can put your daughter in her place? uncle iwa-chan ✋ both your husband and d/n literally line up saluting whenever iwa comes over - courtesy to your invitation of course. after a few whacks to oikawa's head and a firm talking with d/n, the house 👏is 👏 in 👏 order👏 .... until they get sloppy and u call iwa again.

finally, somebody you can actually rely on 💀 Iwa's the ideal father figure, and any offspring of his can easily pass for a veteran's account. as ive mentioned in oiks's hc, iwa's an expert at dealing with spoiled children and adults so it's practically a given that he'll be the one doing most of the correcting when it comes to handling d/n. babe's a brat magnet i swear since this is iwa's child we're talking about, your daughter doesn't even have tantrums, even if she doesn't get what she wants. d/n's respectful, obedient, and everything oikawa's child isn't lol. despite being stern though, iwa's really soft with his family. he does d/n's hair and picks out her outfit for pre-school. after picking her up, he'll sometimes take her out for ice-cream, or if she does especially well in a test, he'll reward her by getting her something he knows she would like. 10/10 father material 🙌

good luck to d/n cuz this one's the type to embarrass his kid in front of other people. ya know those parents that demand a kiss when dropping off their kid? hm yup, this is kuroo. when his daughter refused to, man literally followed her outside and it's like time legit stopped when he dramatically called out d/n's name. other kids started whispering, so sucking up her pride, your daughter quickly gave her dad a kiss on the cheek, and turned to leave. but being the annoying piece of *censor* kuroo is, he turns her around and asked her to kiss his other cheek too cuz "it's not fair." ... yo, d/n's so done rn ✋ it's her first day of kindergarten and her dad's already messing it up. as well all know, kuroo's a dorky man, so yes - expect the dad jokes 💀 he thinks he's so smooth, and d/n actually asks you if you regret marrying him. on the contrary, your daughter is very, very, very smart. she memorized the entire periodic table, knows how to explain the concept of acids and bases, reads about chemical reactions, and listens to chemistry podcasts. all at the tender age of seven years old 💅 so in a way, she does take after your husband.

he's super observant! he knows everything there is to know about d/n. from the curl of her hair all the way down to what shoe size fits her. he knows right away if something's wrong, so of your daughter comes home feeling sad, but tries her best to smile, believe me - he knows. sakusa wouldn't confront her about it head on, but would gently coax d/n into confiding in him herself. he understand how important space and patience is, so he implements this in his parenting. once d/n tells him about what's bothering her, he'll listen quietly to what she has to say. your husband may be the silent and aloof type, but you and your daughter bring out a completely different side to him. a side nobody thought even existed, so consider yourself lucky.

the type of dad that goes, "go ask your mother" whenever his daughter asks him for permission for something. dads are honestly more lenient than moms, so your daughter always goes to your husband first whenever she wants something, and this man - after being duped by d/n so many times before finally learned how to take a stand. little does your poor husband know... whenever she wants chocolate at night, or wants to stay up passed her bedtime she asked ushijima and when he'd bring up whether or not d/n's asked you for permission, she lies and says you have. toshi, oh poor, poor toshi, doesn't believe his sweet pumpkin to be a liar so he believes her 🥲 that is, until you arrive home and demand an explanation for all the mess.

Going back to Junior and Kinsley butting heads when she was pregnant with Aiden.

You know when parents and kids argue, sometimes kids say something that shocked the parents in the bear if the moment. I can see Junior doing that and low key hurting Kinsley’s feeling. Like he wants to go somewhere but he’s only 12 years old and she’s that kind of parent that has to talk to the parents of the other child. She’s very careful about who is around her family since her and Mason have quite the following aka they are famous as fuck. Junior doesn’t see it like that. He sees it as her being uptight. They go back and forth for a while and Kinsley is keeping her cool but it starts to crack and she’s had to check her attitude. Junior keeps on.

“You always say that! Why can’t I go?!” Junior crosses his arms.

At 12, he’s already taller than his mom.

“Junior just drop it okay? I said I’ll think about it but you’re not going right now.” She said picking up the laundry basket. She’s trying to best but junior is making it hard for her at the moment. “Okay?” Junior groaned and Kinsley knew that tone. “I don’t want to argue. I’m tried and just want to get stuff done. How about we get some lunch and watch a movie together. I’ll give you scratchies?”

Junior shakes his head. “I’m not a baby! I don’t want scratchies! I want to hang out with my friends! You’re treating me like a baby! Isn’t that why your having another one? I wish you wold let me do things that I want! Auntie Ava let’s Tessa visit her friends and she’s more famous than you! She’s doesn’t worry about all the logistics…” he goes on and on and on…

“Kim Myung! I said what I said. I’m not auntie Ava and Tessa isn’t my child. And you can’t be more wrong regarding all the logistics about safety surrounding that family. So why don’t you take your little wannabe grown self up to your room and stay in there and until I tell you to come out.” Kinsley said calmly but challenged her son to even try it. 

Junior frowned at his mom. “You’re serious?”

Kinsley didn’t say anything and finished her laundry load as junior stomped away muttering under his voice that he wishes he had a different mom (he doesn’t mean it but it still hurts. We all have said it). That lowkey hurt Kinsley’s feelings and even though her back is to him she’s teary eyed. Junior turns around before going to the stairs and sees her subtly wipe her eyes. He feel so bad but he is prideful. Junior doesn’t apologize until way later.

When Mason comes home to a quiet house and sees Kinsley’s eyes are red rimmed, and he finds out what happened. She asks him if she’s a bad mom. Mason is confused because in the 12 years of being a mom, kinsley never asked that. Mason has to reel in his temper cause no one, even if it is his son, is going to make his wife cry.

Mason has a long talk with junior and lays everything out in the table. Junior is still stubborn but is remorseful. Mason tells him that kinsley is sleep but he better get his ass right and sincerely apologize to his mother before he (Mason) deals with him. Deadass. Junior knows his dad isn’t playing any games. So junior tells him that he understands and Mason grounds him for a month.
