Jazz isn't the biological daughter of Jack.
It was before their marriage. Back in her league days, Maddie was simply the best of the best. She was the demon's daughter second in command, heading her call any moment and her most loyal subject.
That's how it was, to the people.
Behind closed doors she and the demon daughter were more.
But those are old times, after she betrayed the league, fled and created plans to continue living in relative peace.
That was how it was supposed to be.
That was not how it played out.
During her 3rd year with a man called Jack Fenton, did she receive news of a child, a daughter of her own with Talia. One she created in a lab, trained to follow their footsteps and ran from the league at the perfect time and needed to hide.
So maddie took in her daughter, trained her, and showed the ropes of a civilian life.
Jack loved her as if she were his own. It led them to finally marry and later on have Danny.
Jazz knew of the pits, of the meaning they had, and how much knowledge the leader of the league possessed.
Now she is 17, recently orphaned with her 15 year old brother and on the run because Danny is currently the only living person in this world who knows more of the pits than the current user.
And Ra's really wants that knowledge.

House's tendency to rationalize feelings away and being frustrated at himself for still feeling them. It's hurting me 😢
At the end of 05x04 Birthmarks he did a paternity test... And even after it turned out that John wasnt his father, he was still drinking his whiskey, because it didn't mean anything that John wasn't his biological father, because things are still the same.
He's still sad, he's still depressed. The dipshit of a man passing still made him sad. And the thought that he can't even rationalize it away as hatred upsets him. And so he drinks.
And to that Wilson said no one can choose their parents... Because House rejects John as his paternal figure and yet deep inside, House still called him his dad.

how many of you would get mad at me if i said that mulder fucking another woman while wearing scully’s crucifix necklace is one of the most romantic things to ever happen….like, gothically and punitively so….it’s like….well, it’s like…it’s like “aw boohoo he has to get laid because he’s so sad his partner is gone” but like for a person who never allows themself any indulgence or respite or attention, who therefore only has sex as penance. only in blood. and it’s like…yes, it’s self-harm, in many ways, but in many ways it is also confession. crucifixion, as a laying down of sin. bless me father, for i can’t save them, and i miss them anyway. crucifixion as being watched over…when he asked maggie, “why did she wear this?” and maggie answered, “because i gave it to her.”

I was today years old when I learned the Sagrada Familia is a building in the making and now I hope it’s finished by 2050, so Ray can marvel at the completed work of art that the basilica is.
(also - Sagrada Familia? Sacred Family? it all makes sense for this very specific character)

thinking about the disconnect between cesare and lucrezia in “the prince” after cesare’s failed at murdering alfonso and lucrezia has to clean up his mess, and she asks “is that all i am now, brother, borgia?” with such disgust and he just doesn’t even hear her because he’s too focused on her mixing the poison and realizing that by being with her he won’t be corrupting her because she’s already a “professional” like him, like the assassin he was ready to send in to finish the job to keep her hands free of blood. meanwhile lucrezia is ALREADY making up her mind that she wants a love outside of HIS love for her because the way he loves her is selfishly and all consuming and overly possessive and makes her feel sick because some part of her still feels like god is in the room with them when he’s near, but now i think she understands that not to be true. and he was right to ask “god or the devil?” ACTUALLY maybe the disconnect begins before this….when he’s just run alfonso through with his sword and lucrezia comes rushing down the stairs to find the aftermath and cesare thinks he’s going to convince her it was an “accident” or perhaps it begins when lucrezia tells him “i am tired of my husband, of life, the only thing that never tires me is you”. yep this is when it begins i think!! right there. because of this he underestimates how much guilt lucrezia will feel if something happens to alfonso by cesare’s hand. how much she will come to resent being born a borgia, being loved by HIM.

No matter how many times it happens, I'm always shocked by how reliably all my problems with any given story are solved by making it shorter. If I go into a story with the idea that it'll be long, that I should use as much detail as I want to craft a full-length and fully-fleshed-out story instead of a short one, it always turns into this rambling, meandering, soulless thing that's no fun to read, and I get tangled up in so many flimsy, sprawling layers of character and worldbuilding that the plot becomes unworkable.
The minute I tell myself, "Let's make this as short as possible," the problems fall away, I find the heart of the story again, the pacing is brisk, scenes get multiple purposes, the world feels deeper because I'm implying things that spark the reader's imagination rather than trying to put every threadbare, boring detail on the page. Every time. You'd think I'd have learned by now.

Sacrarium Ocs Headcanon #1: Voices
Look at that, I finally getting into a bit of writing and fulfilling the other use for this blog. Since I'm getting around to making some fan art of the (current) LGs/Wardens, I figured I would share a bit more about the two companions of their respective LGs since I have them on my mind currently.
As I did, I remembered that in Gelus, it spoke about how Heimos's voice sounded for the MC when hearing it for the first time on the trek through/up the mountain. So I figured I would make some headcanons for both my Ocs for the fun of it!
Aurora ❄
As expected, Aurora has an elegant and graceful voice, akin to the sound of a classic violin. Yet, she has a playful tone to it, it's especially apparent when Aurora is teasing/flirting with Heimos and when she plays with the ravens.
Her laughter is bubbly and bright that sounds like little bells.
Alright, so hear me out. I can definitely see Aurora having a powerful and soulful singing voice similar to Jennifer Hudson. Even though it would seem it would be much more airy, I think it would fit her. I especially think her cover of Golden Slumbers/Carry that Weight is how I imagine Aurora singing.
Lycoris 🌹
Lycoris has a somewhat deep voice, not as deep as Vivere but still has some bass to it. A good example would be Hercules from the Record of Ragnarok dub but with a bit of a sadder and downtrodden.
It is rare, especially before and the early parts of the story of Pario, for Lycoris to laugh. But when he does, it's addictive and makes others want to laugh with him.
His voice when he sings is very versatile and almost professional despite having no training for it. A good example of what his voice sounds like would be Deep End by Felix from Stray Kids.
