Hi, me again (senior in college)! Thank you for answering my previous ask! If it's alright to ask, could you please tell us more about Vinny and his momma (background, first squad interactions, etc)? I'm not sure if you already made a post about it or not. Thanks again <3!
- A.M.
OH BOI WOULD I ok so Vinny n his momma (Mrs.Clawford):
Tumblr media
and her husband were a well adjusted family where Vin's dad worked at a chemical plant(made the majority of their income) and his mom works at a daycare. Vinny and his dad were super close and he would take Vinny fishing along with other activities when he could, he was a strong source of support and Vinny aspired to be like him when he grew up. When Vin was about 9 years old his dad was involved in a fatal explosion in the chemical plant and his mom had to break the news to him after getting the call. They both took it extremely hard and his mom, now having to work overtime and find an additional job to support them, could rarely ever be there for Vin. Vinny secluded himself and would often stay in his room all day playing games and would often times scrounge around the house for meals if his mom didn't have time to make something before she would leave for work. He became bitter and sulky most of the time and wouldn't say much to anybody, and while his mom did try to connect with him, in reality she was simply too tired from all the work so she could never quite be there for him emotionally for she was also dealing with the grief herself as well. When Vinny was 10, his mom put her paw down and bought him a scooter so that he would at least be outside while she was away, and she looked for a nearby park to take him to before work which ofc Ollie's skatepark was the only one in the city. Vinny hated this idea immensely and it was incredibly uncomfortable for him for he did not cope well with the sudden change of activity and being out all alone on a scooter he didn't even want, so he was NOT happy. His dad being gone and him having little closure over it meant that his pillar of support had vanished, so he was left vulnerable, anxious and alone at a huge skatepark with loud skateboards and even louder Big monsters
Tumblr media
the first few days he was chased into a corner of the fence where he would stay bc it was too much to scoot around in fear that he may get knocked over or bullied ect. and he would hiss and swipe out of fear at people if they skated too close. A few skaters brought it up to Ollie that 'there's a lil dude who is totally Not having a good time over there' so Ollie checked it out and caught sight of the mini trembling furball in the corner evil eying everyone. He had to mosey his way over to him indirectly to not scare him more. He crumbled up his massive body to get as low and nonthreatening as possible and inched his way along the fence until he was at an interactive range with Vinny. Vinny noticed him a little too late, his fur stood up even more as he refused to look directly at Ollie while giving out a small low growl, but Ollie simply took out a candy bar, broke off a piece and ate it, then broke off another piece and calmly handed it to Vin.
Tumblr media
Vinny reflexively looked over and hesitated a loong time before taking the piece and waited til Ollie ate another piece before he ate his. As they silently finished the candy bar, Vinny's fur had gone down and his ears came back up which was Ollie's que to ask him his name ect. and by that time Vinny was pretty receptive to it. Ollie asked him if he wanted to skate with him and while Vinny was hesitant he accepted. They eased their way through the skatepark as Ollie kept a slow pace to allow Vin to keep up and Vinny was g l u e d to the side of Ollies leg while everyone else at the park kept their distance to give them space. They did this for the rest of the day which Really got Vinny out of his shell and even made Vinny kind of excited to come back tomorrow. They pushed around for a few days as Vins personality started shining through and eventually Ollie let him try out his skateboard which Vinny was super excited about. Even though Ollies big ass board was like a surfboard to Vinny he still wanted a skateboard nonetheless so Ollie agreed to make him his own skateboard. Ponti didn't care for Vinny in the slightest and would call him 'that damn scooter kid' (he got scratched by Vin once on the tail and had a grudge against him since lmfao) so Ollie would have to defend Vin from Ponti sometimes for he would deliberately skate threateningly close to Vinny and hit him with his tail( Ponti was hostile as hell since he was still kinda new and him and Ollie still had a little beef at this time) which probably started some fights between Ollie and Ponti tbh BUT eventually Ponti warmed up to Vin as he had his own redemption arc and is now the mean older brother to him but will beat anyone to a pulp who messes with Vin. Remy didn't care for him either but was pretty passive and Abio and Oscar helped with the warm welcome. Vinny used the skateboard for a while and Ollie would take it back with him when the day was over but eventually his mom found out and she confronted Ollie n the squad about it mad as hell talkin abt how dangerous it was and how Vinny was going to break something or get in with the wrong crowd ect. so Ollie had to calm her down and apologized. Vinny was tore up abt the whole thing but when his mom saw how much fun he was having and how he had opened up she reluctantly agreed to let him skateboard sO dear god there's his origin 😭
Tumblr media
THAT WAS LONG AS HELL MY BAD and kind of spoilery but its fine lmfao THNX 4 THE ASK!!

Anti-romantic || JJk | Ch. 15
Tumblr media
Pairings: Boxer!Jungkook x fem!reader || Enemies to lovers, neighbors
Genre: smut, angst, fluff, curse, illegal boxing, violence
Warnings: fuckboy!Jungkook x reader, smut, dirty talk, curse, mention of tarot and fate
Summary: Jungkook had always been carefree when it came to love. He always believed he was worth sharing himself with everyone, and thought it was selfish of him to ever think of keeping himself exclusive to just one person.
And maybe that was exactly what got him into the big problem he was in.
A curse that kept him away from love didn't seem an issue for him. The fact that his ex-girlfriend thought he'd be affected by the idea of the girls he slept with running away from him after sex was ridiculous. She actually did him a favor, and took a burden away from him.
At least that was what he thought at first.
He had never found himself thinking of the possibility of repeating with neither of his hook ups, because they disappeared before he was able to even think about it. But when he makes the mistake of sleeping with the sexy neighbor that lives in front of him, he finds himself hoping to get the chance for a second round every time their paths cross.
Y/n hated him the second he set foot inside the building by the way he started making her life a miserable mess for no reason. Sleeping with him was a big mistake she wasn't thinking of repeating. At least not until he came up with the excuse that she rejected him for a curse. Not only she thought he was annoying, but she was also convinced he was crazy.
There was no way she could take him seriously.

The doorbell rang hysterically, as Jungkook kept clicking on it until the door opened in front of him. Mrs. Anderson opened the door, sighing out of exhaustion when she recognised the young boy who hopefully waited by her door, lighting up a smile as soon as he saw her.
—You again? I thought I got rid of you —she sighed.
It had been almost a month since the last time he showed up there, which actually surprised her, considering he tended to visit her at least twice a month to get his bi-weekly checks and celebrations as soon as the cards remained the same.
Except for the last time. His reaction was one she would've expected. Someone that celebrated being cursed from love couldn't be happy about that same curse coming to an end. But there he was, stepping inside her house, walking his way to the spot he knew so well, and taking a seat before she could even offer him one.
—Your fate won't change by sitting a second earlier, boy —she called him out, walking past him to take the seat in front of him—. Thought you said you'd come back two weeks ago.
It was what they agreed on, but his mind had been so busy that he didn't even remember. And then he thought about how he had been so into bickering with Y/n, or daydreaming about her being wrapped around him that he completely forgot about the last reading he got, and how it talked about the exact thing he was going through.
—Don't cross your legs and hands, focus your energy on what you want the cards to tell you about. And take it easy. Not because you're faster, the reading will change its meaning.
The reading started as usual.
She shuffled the cards, looking into his eyes from time to time. The first few times it made him uncomfortable, because he didn't quite understand why she did it. But it only took him three sessions to ask her, and be told that his eyes were a bridge to his soul and his experiences for her. It was her way to connect with him on a deeper level, to make the most out of each reading.
She planted the cards slowly, one by one, in front of him. Ignoring the way he seemed eager to hear the interpretation she got out of them. A few hums, eyebrows slightly frowned, and the twist of lips made him even nervous about what meaning they could have.
—The curse is still there —she let him know—. It's still strong, and it's keeping you from reaching your full potential. But there's something curious here —she pointed to one of the cards, getting his attention—. It's the first time the Justice card shows up whenever asked about this topic.
—And what does it mean?
—It seems like the curse is like a karmic punishment —she frowned—. I don't know what you did to that girl, but she wants you to suffer. She wants your heart to hurt as if it was ripped out of your body. You have a lot of unsolved issues, and this little problem might get you to want to solve all of them.
—Karmic punishment?
That definitely sounded like something awful, he could tell.
—Where's the fun part where I don't fall in love with anyone at all, and I just live my life?
—I told you the first time you showed up here that the curse wasn't something you should enjoy —she warned him—. I told you to be prepared. And now I can tell you'll definitely need to be really strong mentally to get through the karma that will come with it. Hmm.
The way her eyebrows raised, and her fingers fell on the cards to him hopefully looking back at her.
—Hmm? Hmm? What hmm?
—The Empress again. There's someone really powerful messing with your head, isn't it?
Jungkook omitted the scoff that was about to come out of his lips. Y/n was an average journalist, obsessed with illegal fights because they were her only trip out of lame reports. He wouldn't really consider her a powerful person. At least not in the strict meaning of the word.
It could be that she didn't mean Y/n. Could be that woman he was waiting for didn't cross paths with him yet.
—She isn't in my life yet, right?
—Oh no, she is —she quickly nodded—. I talked in present tense. She is messing with your head. Messing, right now —she explained slowly.
—But maybe she's messing because it's making me anxious to think about her in my life —he still tried to turn her words upside down.
—No, she is in your life. Now. Present. She's been face to face with you, she knows you and you know her —she explained, exhausted—. She is a real person, walking calmly in your life, and making you delusional about her not showing up. She is here —she lifted the card—, and there —she pointed with her other hand at his head.
His heart started beating fast as he tried to find an explanation as to how all of that happened. And then it clicked.
—You said I'd meet her through work.
—No, I said the connection will be made through some work you do —she explained, starting to get annoyed at his denial—. And it shows up here again: whatever pushes you to change, it'll be through some work you'll do together.
Out of all those people, of course it had to be Y/n. He met her when he was going through some big changes, and what's a bigger change than moving out somewhere else?
—And what if I don't do that work?
—Do you really think you'll be able to escape what the universe has planned for you? Okay, try it —she sighed— It has never worked for anyone. And it certainly won't work for you. But yeah, try it —she left the card she was holding back on the table—. Look, son, I think you are a good person. You might seem annoying and full of yourself, but I sense that kindness and good aura you let out as you walk into a room. It doesn't change the fact that you've done some things that have hurt people, and you might need to make up for those mistakes. You can run from them, you can slow down the process, but it'll get to you. If it's not in a few days, it'll be in a few years. It's a work we all need to do.
—It's not a choice to depart from this world without solving them?
—No —she seriously answered—. You can't —she looked at him, staring into his soul, before she continued speaking—. You do want to fall in love. I can tell. Your eyes speak louder than your words. You kept celebrating that curse, but your eyes showed disappointment every time I told you there were no changes. And today you looked hopeful, as if I said something you wanted to hear —her hooded eyes squinted—. You're so scared of love. And you think all those fleeting relationships will cover up that need in your heart. I told you once, and I'll tell you again: running away will never be the solution. And you might've started to realize recently.
—I've realized that I'm really happy with the way it is now.
—Is it? Why didn't you come when you first told me you'd come? —she inquired, picking up all the cards that were spread— Whoever that woman is, she kept you so busy that you even forgot about the curse. Am I wrong? That lady is indeed as powerful as the cards tell —she smirked to herself.
—She's not.
—Then why did you come here if it wasn't to confirm she was the one you've been running from?
Jungkook remained silent at that question. Despite showing off how serious he was about that, he was trying to hide as much as possible all his intentions to avoid Y/n and that dumb article until either of them moved out of their respective places, so they wouldn't have to see each other's faces again.
Tumblr media
Her fingers tangled on Kyle's, completely ignoring the fact that she was doing exactly what she didn't want to do. At the same time she convinced herself it wasn't going to be anything as serious, that it'd only be just fun, her other side kept screaming how it really seemed that he had changed the past few months. He seemed more stable and genuine than the last time he reached for her.
—Did I say how beautiful you look today? —his fingers pinched her chin.
—Just a few times since you picked me up earlier —she giggled, resting her back against the wall next to the entrance to her apartment.
Ever since he showed up in her workplace, he kept praising how good she looked, and how she looked even better than she did when they last parted ways. Her cheeks kept blushing without any control, but she wasn't quite sure if it was because she just felt shy getting praise from anyone else, or if it was the fact that her ex boyfriend was actually telling her.
—Why don't we go up to your place, and I keep telling you how beautiful you look with even less clothes on? —he suggested, moving his finger down her neck.
—Isn't it a bit too early?
Was it?
Not even a few weeks back she was considering taking a complete stranger to her home, and things would've easily escalated if it hadn't been for the asshole of her neighbor. She didn't think about it twice, nor cared about how early it was, when she jumped to hook up with her neighbor the two times it happened either.
So what was exactly stopping her then?
She wasn't feeling that animalistic need, she wasn't feeling that feral attraction that would've pushed her to get upstairs as soon as they got there. She was attracted to Kyle, but not in the same way she was before they broke up. His kisses just didn't feel the same, as much as she would've loved to feel those butterflies make a mess in her stomach, there just wasn't anything. She felt nothing but a wet tongue sliding in between her lips, and a mouth sucking on her every time it locked on hers.
—Well, I've known you for six years now, what do you consider a bit too early? —he tilted his head, getting closer to her.
Before she could answer, his body pushed suddenly against her, having her gasping for air at the sudden hit. She was so close to calling him out for that, until she saw him looking back, quickly finding the owner of that push with a cynical look in his eyes and a fake smile.
—Oh, sorry —he mumbled—. I didn't see you.
Y/n just rolled her eyes, not surprised in the slightest at the attitude of her neighbor. Although she was confused at how she didn't even hear him coming, and how there wasn't a motorbike in sight.
—Are you blind? —Y/n called him out— Also, don't you have enough pavement, that you have to drag your body on the walls? There's literally six feet of space.
—It's not my problem you're here making out with your new toy, instead of going to your place. Are you fifteen? —he huffed.
—My new toy? You...
—Is this the guy that you told me about? —Kyle asked on the down low.
She remembered mentioning him, but she didn't think she went into so many details about him for her ex boyfriend to tell clearly who she was talking about by just a simple exchange of words. Did she really talk that much about him without noticing?
He suddenly moved, uncovering her body to walk towards Jungkook with a barely puffed chest and a brave aura that almost had her escaping from there. While he forced a personality that wasn't his, her neighbor just threw a smirk and a scoff, turning completely to that new man.
—It's reached my ears how you've been bothering Y/n in the past few weeks —Kyle started— and, by your attitude, I can tell you aren't planning to change in the slightest.
Y/n wanted to hide somewhere at that moment. The second hand embarrassment she was getting from that sentence alone almost made her squirm where she was standing. She didn't know what he was pretending, but it for sure wasn't working.
—And you think she needs you to talk for her? —Jungkook chuckled— She's more than capable of letting me know, and she's actually done that already. So quit that big boy act that's only embarrassing you. I know you might need to pull out your dick to show off that yours is bigger, but I won't fall for that —he mumbled.
Y/n was surprised, but at the same time she wasn't. Jungkook always fell for their small bickering, but for some reason he also gave her the image of someone who wouldn't stand low to prove himself.
And what had happened that night was one of the biggest turn offs she could've lived. It didn't cost Kyle a thing to just keep it quiet. He had no business doing what he did.
Their bickering was one thing, but having someone else trying to take a part in it wasn't her thing.
Kyle scoffed nervously, faking calmness as he exaggeratedly relaxed his pose and poked his hands inside the pockets of his pants.
—Shall we go up to your place, then? —he turned to Y/n.
Jungkook thought faster than her, taking advantage of the few seconds it took her to find an answer to his question. Those words came out before he could think about them deeper.
—Actually, you'll have to leave it for another day —Y/n looked at him confused—. Shouldn't we work on that article? Or are you planning to take forever to write it?
—We can work on it tomorrow —she tried to suggest.
—I want to work on it now. I'm busy tomorrow —Y/n squinted her eyes, knowing too well he was going to be free as he was on his usual agenda—. But if you don't want to, we won't. You're the one interested, anyway. Just know that if you reject me, I'll take as...
—Okay, okay —she stopped him, before he could get even more annoying—. Do you mind if we leave it for another day? —she turned to Kyle.
—If there's no other choice, it isn't like it's going to make a difference whether I mind or not —he answered.
He kept looking to his side, finding a victorious smirk on Jungkook's face, which he quickly erased as he leaned over to kiss Y/n on the lips to walk away from her building.
—Why do you look like you've smelled shit? —Y/n inquired, walking past him.
—Because I nearly did —he followed her inside—. I thought you had good taste, but now I'm seeing that I was the only good choice you've made. No wonder you don't hook up with anyone else.
—Says the person who has had a lot of hookups —she replied back with irony—, because I've barely seen any movement in your apartment.
—Ah, so you're keeping an eye on who I bring home or not?
His playful answer was a desperate attempt to distract himself from the thought that was crossing his mind.
As the elevator reached the ground floor, Y/n stepped first, pushing Jungkook back with a hand on his chest to keep her from getting there with her.
—I'll see you up there.
She devilishly smiled at him, before the doors closed in front of him. She was so annoying sometimes, yet so funny and cute. And that exact thought had Jungkook shaking his head, pushing away whatever second meaning that could be coming with it, as he got himself ready to walk up three floors to get to his apartment.
When he got there, Y/n was already waiting for him, arms closed on her chest while her head rested on the metallic exterior wall of the elevator.
—Look how pretty you look waiting there just for me —the cockiness in his tone almost went completely unrecognizable through the gasps and shaky breaths.
—Are you sure you're a trainer? It seems like you're going to puke your lungs out.
—It's because these stairs are too steep.
—Or because you smoke more than you should —she shrugged.
—Do you always need to have the last word? —he finally asked, standing in front of her.
—No, but it's fun to mess with you —she smiled at him—. Also, it's pretty satisfying to see how your expression changes so fast with every comment.
—Seriously? —his eyebrows raised, stepping closer to her— How does it change?
—Well, it changes from asshole to confused asshole —she nodded.
—I'm not an asshole —he spat back, resting his shoulder on that same metallic wall.
—The frozen pepperoni pizzas in my freezer say the opposite.
—Did you freeze them? —his words stuttered by the small giggle as he spoke.
—What was I supposed to do? You ordered food for a whole family. And I wasn't going to throw away something I paid —she stated, as if it were obvious.
—You should've invited me to eat them with you.
—And spending more time than I have to with you?
And there it was. She could feel the electricity making its way from the tip of her toes to the top of her head with just one quick look into his eyes.
Jungkook was mesmerized by the way her eyes shined with such mischievousness, he only wanted to sink in them. He didn't know where all that attraction was coming from, and when he started feeling smaller than her although he was almost towering over her body. He leaned closer, finally getting a taste of her after so long. Even if it had been only a few days, he could feel the thrill running through his veins when he felt the taste of her saliva on the tip of his tongue. Every time he thought he only needed a rub of her lips, he felt needy of more.
—Jungkook —he heard her voice.
Blinking back to reality, he found himself in the same pose he was in before he started daydreaming about kissing her, while she just stared at him with a confused look. She saw the exact moment he went far away from where he was, seeing his eyes showing nothing while they scanned her face slowly, moving up from her eyes to her lips.
—That's right —he quickly got himself out of that trance—. I won't make you spend more time than you have to with me.
She was confused as she saw him stepping back, walking to his door.
—Where are you going? I thought you wanted to work on the article now.
—I wanted to, but I'm so tired after you made me get the stairs —he clicked his tongue—. Let's leave it for another day.
As he closed the door to his apartment right before she could say a word, he finally realized what was so satisfying about closing the door dramatically, and why Y/n always did it to him whenever she had the chance.

“It’s.. It’s too big.” Albedo panted, nearly out of breath from how wide your strap was.
You shushed him, steadying your cock with his hole and readying yourself to push in more, but not before Albedo started to squirm and cry a little. Taking your hand you stroked the back of your palm against his damp cheek. “There there, I know you can take it, Bedo, honey. Just a little more, that’s it. That’s my good boy.”
Little by little you inched inside of him until finally you had bottomed out inside of his walls. Stilling yourself in your current position you released a shuddering breath, your mouth parted in an o shape as you let Albedo get adjusted to your size. Speaking of Albedo he was nearly in tears, the sheer size of your strap was one he was not so accustomed to, but especially considering this was your first time doing this with him. You took a few more moments stilled inside of him before asking him if he was ready to proceed, and once he nodded in acknowledgment you continued.
At first the pace was slow and gradual, then it evolved into something rough and fierce. You continued to watch him carefully as you fucked him good and well. You leaned in close to his face to lick up his tears with a troublesome grin, and then placed a sweet kiss to the place where his tears once were. Albedo looked absolutely precious like this, fucked out with tears in his eyes, looking at you with eyes pleading for some sort of mercy, but merciful isn’t what you are. So, instead you worsened the torture and upped the difficulty for him.
You leaned down and planted a wet kiss against his lips. “Be a good boy an’ I’ll let you cum, mkay?”
Albedo nodded with a whimper and braced himself.
Pulling out of Albedo you carefully blindfolded him and pulled rope out from under the bed which you’d been hiding, and then tied restraints to both his wrists, and connected them to the rods of the bed frame, and watched with a mischievous grin as Albedo became more nervous by every passing second. You tightened the rope and made sure everything was secure before bringing your attention back to a very squirmy Albedo. You then began to crawl on top of Albedo and proceeded to kiss him, again.
“Now, stay still. You can do that, right?” You teased.
He nodded once more and swallowed hard, preparing himself for whatever you had planned for him. You didn’t leave much room for suspicion, because before he knew it you had found your way back on top of him and had slid down his thick, hard cock. Oh, it was a heaven like none other. The pressure had already begun to build up inside the both of you. Albedo fisted the sheets and you fisted his hair as you rode him through slow and sensual movements. You could feel that orgasm of yours building up more and more, until you could hold it in no longer.
You lifted yourself up by the strength of your knees and began hopping up and down on his cock, your hands now placed firmly on his chest. At least, they were on his chest till you could wait no longer for your release and began to play with your bud roughly, and with little regard for how harsh you were being. This turned Albedo absolutely feral. He threw an arm over his eyes as he panted and moaned for more, while also begging for you to slow down. In truth the poor man couldn’t make up his mind whether he wanted you to stop or keep going, but one thing’s for sure, it felt fucking fantastic.
You continued rubbing yourself, this time harder. Faster and faster until you started squirting all over his cock, still thrusting in ‘n out of him as you squirted everywhere. As you did you made strong eye contact with your Albedo, until he, too, succumbed to his own high, and shot ropes of cum inside of your wet cunt. The both of you continued to ride out your highs until you ultimately crashed and became exhausted. You sat on top of him with his dick still inside of you for a few moments until you gathered the energy to climb off of him.
A wet pop filled the room as you pulled off of him. Then, curling up into his hold you held him close and gave him a few tender kisses. Soon you removed his restraints and massaged the areas to reassure everything was okay before you laid back down beside him.
“Good?” You asked shyly.
He let out a great big sigh and said. “Fan- fucking- tastic.”
And with that the both of you fell asleep in each other’s arms, the two of you oh, so blissed the fuck out.

Cozia, a beautiful island full of life and culture, The town is small compared to the island's size, only stretching along the beach leaving the forest behind it to grow as big and strong as it needs to be. To the outside world its just an island that's shrouded in mystery, no one is aloud on it unless the 5 protectors of the island say so and people hardly leave the island or talk about life there. Cozia has a lot of rumors about it but the truth is all of them are false, the real truth is that this island is home to an ancient living deity, Glykon a pure white snake larger than the mountain's that scatter the island. He's a protective deity of home and family while also gifting fertility in all things. He lives in a cave deep in the woods covered by a waterfall with leads to a large pool and river spreading through the island. The water runs black a perfect contrast to his white skin but the water helps crops and animals thrive on the island, trees grow more fruit and animals live longer thanks to it. In fear of the world knowing and trying to use the deity for bad the islanders vowed their lives to protecting it and worshiping it, gifting the giant snake fruit and plants, only a select few people have actually seen the snake, it never leaves its cave other than to bless someone with his gift. A tattoo'ed snake that will come to life whenever you need it, those who are gifted are protector, trusted to keep the island and its people safe while also helping it thrive.
It was and still is beautiful and it was home to you , your parents and your grandmother. Three years after you were born your parents decided to leave Cozia to explore the wold leaving you with your grandmother, too young to understand you thought they would come back but four years later they were still gone, you had hope that they were ok and that they were just having too much fun to come back. Home life and school life were totally different, you loved being at home and working hands on with your grandmother, taking care of her garden, chickens and bee hives but at school you struggled. Learning from a book was hard for you and the other class mates would laugh at you if you read something wrong but you didn't stop trying, wanting to learn. Your grades were never good but your grandmother never scolded you for it since she was just like you in school, struggling to make friends despite being kind to all and unable to get good greats despite working so hard. Life on Cozia could be boring at times, doing the same thing day in and day out but you always enjoyed your time in the mountains, bringing gifts of honey, fruit and eggs to the giant waterfall where Glykon lives. You often didn't want to leave so would spend time taking care of the plants that grew near the water or reading out loud, in a way you hoped to bring the snake some kind of company since it was all alone up here and people would gift things and then just leave. The giant snake never once spoke to you, in fact you didn't even know if he could hear you but you kept it up.
With a smile you run out the door of your home to meet the mail man who was walking up to the house "Miss Y/N, happy birthday" The postman laughs handing you a pink envelope, slightly jumping on your toes you take it from his hand and thank him before rushing back inside to your grandmother where she was sitting at the dinning table, a small cake in front of her with a number 7 candle on it "There you are, come on and blow out the candle then you can open your gift" The old lady smiles taking the envelope off you even though you try and resist, you know it's from your parents, they always send you a card on your birthday explaining what they've seen and done while also giving you a gift but you were just so happy to hear what they have been up to and if their ok. Looking over the cake a warm feeling fills your heart knowing your grandmother made this just for you. Thinking of a wish you lean over and blow out the candle before hugging your grandmother "Thank you grandma, can i have the card now?" You ask reaching for the card that she finally hands you, opening it you bounce a little pulling out a letter, your smile drops seeing no card fearing that something might have happened to your mum and dad. Opening it you try and read it the best you can but as you read through it your heart sinks, your grandmother gives you a worried look before standing next to you reading it over, anger fills her eyes before she snatches the letter off of you making you gasp. "Don't worry sweetie... You just enjoy your birthday ok" Your grandmother pats your head but you don't smile.
Your glad your parents are ok, their happy and safe, but they won't be coming home, and they won't be sending anymore letters too. You want to cry but you also don't want to upset your already upset grandmother who hands you a gift and a card telling you to open it. Putting on the best smile you can muster you open your preset and card finding a book, Alice's adventures in wonderland. "Oh, my god, thank you grandma" You laugh jumping up and down before hugging her, the old woman laughs hugging you back before pulling you away "I know how much you like strange things so i thought it would be perfect... while i deal with things here would be kind enough to take that basket up to the mountain?" She asks gesturing to the small basket on the side table loaded with fruit, eggs and a honey jar, nodding with a small smile you watch her walk away before cutting a large slice of cake, wrapping it on some paper and placing it in the basket before heading out carrying your new book under your arm. Even though you struggle to read it doesn't stop you from trying, plus you enjoy weird and wonderful thing so Alice in wonderland would be perfect. Walking through the wood your mind wonders "maybe i could read some to Glykon today... oh! i bet there are a lot of new words, i can show mum and dad just-" You stop in your tracks the realization kicking in that your parents are never coming home, your grandma did a good job of kicking it from your head but now she's not here to do that again.
A tear slips out of your eye but you sniffle and wipe it way starting to walk again gripping into the basket handle as tight as you can, you don't understand why they won't come back, come home for a day or a few hours would be nice, you don't mind the letters in fact you look forward to them so why are they gonna stop doing that as well? as questions run through your head you didn't realize that you had already made it to the waterfall, it wasn't too loud since the strange black water seems to dull sound but it still breaks you out of your thoughts, sniffling a little you wipe away your tears and smile setting the basket down on the floor before taking out the large piece of cake. "I don't know if you can eat it but i thought I'd bring you some birthday cake" You call out hoping the giant snake in the cave can hear you, placing it back down in the basket you make your way over to the grass and sit down near the black water placing the new book on your lap. Maybe reading will help you feel better or at least distract you for a while. "Grandma got me a new book, its Alice's adventures in wonderland, i know i haven't finished the other one yet but i hope you don't mind if i read this one" You smile up at the waterfall that covers the caves entrance, like always there's no answer but a part of you hopes the large snake can hear you and likes hearing you read.
You struggled a bit in places but managed to read well until you got to a point where the word just didn't seem right no matter how you said it. "But she could not even get her head through the door way.. and even if my head would go through.. thought poor Alice.. it would be of very little use without my shoulders, oh! How i wish i could shoot up like a t-te-le-" Furrowing your brows you try the word again and again "Te-le-sco-pe?" you ask as your eyes scan the same word over and over again, you knew if your class mates where around they would laugh at you for it but really did try, after a few more try and it still not sounding right you grip the book in your hands trying not to cry, at this point it's not the word that makes you want to cry its more of an excuse to cry over what your really upset about. "Don't get discouraged little one" A smooth deep voice calls out making you jump and look around you but no ones there, shaking your head you wipe your eyes thinking your mind is playing tricks on you but the voice calls out again "Your almost there, don't cry" Looking over at the waterfall your eyes widen realizing thats where the voice is coming from, you couldn't speck, what were you supposed to say? The deity is talking to you, giving you words of encouragement, a small laugh echos out from the cave but it didn't sound like a mocking one, in fact it was light-hearted "Don't be scared little one, please continue, i'm invested now" Looking back down at your book you gulp trying again with slightly shaking hands "Tele-scope... telescope" You finally get the word making your lip quiver as tears start falling down your face.
Pushing the book away as to not get it wet you try and wipe away your tears "Well done little one but there's no need to cry" His voice calls out a again but you shake your head "It's not the word i'm crying over" You sob pulling your knees into your chest, giving into the underlying sadness bellow, you hate crying in front of others, you want others to be happy not feel sad even if its for you but knowing your parents aren't coming back is breaking you. "Then what's the matter? You shouldn't cry on your birthday" He calls out as something touches the side of your cheek, with a gasp you look up to see the tip of a long thick white tail wiping away the tears on your cheek, the tail going through the waterfall in order to wipe them away. For such a big powerful snake it was gentle with you, you didn't want to bother the deity with your thoughts but something about it made you want to talk and tell it everything. "My parents aren't coming home... they don't want anything to do with me anymore" You sniffle only for the tip of the white tail to land on your lap giving it a slow gentle rub of comfort "The two you talk about on your birthday?" the snake asks making your eyes widen realizing it has been listening to you all these years, slowly nodding the snakes tail lightly grips your leg as if trying to hug it "Little one... I'm sorry they have decided not to be a part of your life, in my opinion it is their loss." With a smile you place your hand on the white tail feeling how smooth the scales are.
It takes you a while to wipe away the last of your tears and try to explain your thoughts hoping it will help you stop feeling sad "Thank you... I want them to be happy and to live their lives but... i was hoping they would at least keep in touch, i love reading their letters and learning about what they have been up too... maybe when i'm older i can go out and see the world too... I shouldn't be sad, i'm not alone, i have grandma and the chicken and-" you stop yourself feeling the tears coming back but managed to stop them from falling, gripping onto the book again you bring it to your lap looking over the page " and i... I have these moments here, where i can read and relax... can i still come here?" You ask looking up at the waterfall trying to see through it but the black water covers it all blocking out any light or figure behind "Of course Little one, I've come to enjoy your presence, no one stays around this old snake for long anymore and i enjoy seeing how far you've come, your a smart girl Y/N" With a big smile you take the snakes tail and hug it as it wraps around your shoulder "Thanks you Glykon sir" You call out hearing the deity behind the waterfall laugh in that same light-hearted way.
Two years went by and you grew closer and closer with the deity, you decided not to tell anyone other than your grandmother about you new friend in fear of them teasing you or disturbing your time with the snake, in away i guess it was selfish but you didn't care too much. The day Cozia was attacked you were at home when the alarms went off, the ships circling the island managed to take out one of the Germa 66 ships and report in, the village was evacuated to the other side of the island except for the 5 protectors who fought tooth and nail to protect their home and Glykon. "Y/N, we have to go" Your grandmother yells grabbing your arm as the Germa 66 ships try to dock the islands beach "But the chickens" You yell pulling away for her arm to run over to the hutch opening it up to let the birds out, your grandmother sighs running over and opening the gate letting the animals out to run away before grabbing your arm and pulling you alone. The rest of the villagers would already be in the forest by now so you and your grandmother where the only ones left other than the 5 protector and their snakes. Explosion and screams filled the air as you and your grandmother ran through the town and into the forest, your chickens following or heading off into the forest to hide, you couldn't just let them die, you had to let them out to have a fighting chance. Looking back at the burning town, giant snakes rose up taking out any Germa 66 agents that they could see, a red blur hit one of the snakes causing it to scream out before other came running in to help clamping its jaws down at on the small red thing.
You couldn't make out what is was from so far away but something did catch your eye, a ship off to the side of the island away from the others, it had a castle on top of it, indicating it was one of Germa 66's ships but with it being so far away from the battle you were sure it was going to be used as a sneak attack. "Grandma. I think Glykon's in trouble we should help" you yell watching as your old grandma pants trying to keep a steady pace "We can't" she pants but worry and fear flows through you, the 5 protectors are too occupied and even though the giant snake is strong your worried that the rumors about Germa 66's strength is true. Pulling away from your grandmothers hold she stops in her tracks to try and grabs your arm again but you step back with a determined face "I know i might not be able to fight but some has to help him or at least warn him... so I'm going to help him, he's alone up there and the 5 protectors are busy so someone has to help" You yell before running off your grandmother tried to run after you but is unable to catch up with you soon slowing down to a halt where she pants for air. Running down the path male screams fill the air as you get closer to the waterfall, your already too late those men are here but you won't let them hurt your friend. Two men stand outside the waterfall one with a staff and other kneeling holding a large bazooka aiming for the cave "Come on guys give me a visual" The one with the bazooka yell trying to see through the black water.
The sound of fighting inside makes your heart sink but your eyes focus on the baskets of gifts on the floor, a red powered spice catching your eye, running over you grab a hand full just as the guy with the staff turns to look at you "Hay" he yells getting his mates attention but you chuck the powder at them causing the two to cough as the hot spice burns their nose and mouth. Since their wearing goggle it didn't affect their eyes but you grab a large branch from the floor and swing going for the guy with the bazooka first. Using all the strength you hit the man away sending him rolling down the path groaning in pain, the man with the staff swing it at you hitting you in the stomach and sending you flying into the grass almost falling into the water "Sorry kid" The guy sighs walking over and raising the pointed end of his staff over you but quickly thinking you grab some mud and throw it at his face before rolling away. He growls as the mud sticks to his goggles blinding him as the end of his staff gets stuff in the muddy ground. Grabbing onto the staff you lift it out of the ground, the end of it hitting the man under the chin forcing him to let it go, swiping his legs out from under him you go to hit him with it when the guy from before runs over and kicks you in the side sending you flying through the water fall and into the cave.
Hitting the floor and rolling you groan out in pain before coming to a stop, your wet hair sticks to your face so you move it aside to see into the dimly lite cave. The sound echo's off the walls of the massive cave, several Germa 66 members fighting a giant white snake with two long fangs and rows of sharp teeth on its bottom jaw, it hisses forcing you to cover your ears with how loud and angry it is. Some of the men groan out in pain due to the noise before being hit by its tail sending them flying into the wall of the cave and falling into a pool of black water. Looking around Glykon has done a good job taking these guys out, but he's covered in cuts, a hand grabs your hair forcing you to your feet "Little shit" The man growls as he continues to wipe mud off his face, the other man beside him keels down on the ground the bazooka back in his hands "No, don't do it" You yell out trying to struggle in the other mans grip, Glykon's eyes shoot to you just as the man fires, the giant snake hisses and dodges with ease thanks to your heads up, the rocket hits the side of the cave causing it to crumble and bury the rest of the Germa 66 members. The giant snake goes to attack the two men but stops when the one holding your hair puts a knife to your throat "Now be a good snake and stay still, we're gonna take you to your now home" the two men nod to each other before the bazooka is loaded with some kind of net, shaking your head you try and think of a way out of this, you can't let them take him, this is his home.
Glykon's eyes meet yours silently telling you to not do anything, you shake your head at him though not wanting him to give in and let them take him. "Good no-ah" you bite down on the mans hand holding the knife trying to force him to let go of it but instead he pulls it away to stab down at you. The giant snake hisses before lunging, biting into the man behind you forcing him to let you go, falling to the floor you stay down as the sound of the bazooka goes off along with two loud screams of both men. You didn't see what happened since it was so fast but when you look up at the giant white snake, the net is wrapped around its tail and both men laid on the blood soaked ground with blood dripping from Glykon's face down onto the floor. You thought it was the men's blood but as he turned his head to look at you a gasp of shock left your lips. Shakily standing you run over to meet his face as the snake lowers his head "i'm so sorry Glykon, i was just trying to help... what do i do?" you ask looking at the knife in his eye but the snake smiles at you its tongue flicking out to wipe away some blood that got on your cheek "Little one... you shouldn't have come but this is not your fault so please don't worry" His kindness made you want to cry but you held back the tears reaching your hand up to run it over his snout "You were in danger and the protectors are all busy so... I couldn't let them hurt you or take you away from your home." you state before looking over at the net pinning down his tail "Let me help you, please"
With the giant snake agreeing you managed to unravel the net from his tail and shift the heavy weights attached to it far enough away, so he can get out of it before heading over to the waterfall "I'll check if the cost is clean then we can head to the other side of the island, the villager's and protectors will be able to help you" you turn to the snake who shakes his head at you before bringing it down to nuzzle you, taking his large head in your arms the best you can the snake lets out a gentle hiss "The fight isn't over little one, there is still something i must do... you are brave and have a kind soul Y/N, will you help me do this?" The snake asks, pulling away you give him a determined nod, you have no idea what he wants you to do but your willing to help him no matter what. "Climb on, once where up there i need you to be my eye since i only have one" The snake shifts you over to his back where you climb on holding on tightly near the base of his head, Glykon makes his way out of the cave water flowing over your body as the afternoon sun makes you squint your eyes from its brightness. Explosions and loud hissing can still be heard from far away but it's a lot less then what it was, widening his way up the mountain and making it to the giant peek you can't help but look down and see just how big Glykon is. His whole body grows larger before your eyes wrapping around the mountain with his head held high while his tail rests on the bottom, from so high up you can see everything, every part of the island and ship covered sea.
The town you call home is in ruins but the snakes bellow ares still fighting managing to stop any of the army getting past, that red blur you saw a while go was no where to be found so its possible the snakes manages to take it out. "Little one, please tell me how many ships are to my left" You nod turning to look that way and scanning the area, a small smile appears on your face noticing the Orbit was gone. The cruise ship was in distress and needed supply's, even though the island doesn't allow strangers none of you could send the ship on its way when it needed help. "There are 6 ships, two on fire and one docked, it's the same one i sore before running to you, i think thats where those men came from" You explain before feeling the snake shift lifting higher into the air "Cover your ears and close your eyes little one" The giant snake takes in a big breath as you do so. Covering your ears and closing your eyes, pressing your face into his scaly skin you soon feel a rumble in his throat as high pitch hiss almost like a roar calls out, it was so loud you could hear it through your hands but you kept your eyes closed and pressed as hard as you could against your ears. After a few minutes it all stopped, the sound and that weird rumble came to a quick halt but you stayed still not sure if it was actually over, "Little one, thank you for your help" The giant snakes voice managed to get past your ears making you let go of them and open your eyes to look around.
In shock you look over the sea, several Germa 66 ships fleeing away while others seemed to be melting and sinking to the bottom of the sea, the snakes inside the village hissed with glee and cheers were heard from all over the island, it made you smile and let a few joyful tears slip your eye "I don't know what you did but that was amazing." you laugh patting the snakes back as it starts to slither down the mountain and return to its original size, he was still a big snake but now he could fit inside his cave again, Glykon chuckles at you as he looks over at the cave entrance then over to the village. He seemed conflicted so you wrap your arms around him the best you can to give him some kind of comfort "Someone there can help you" you state looking at the knife still stuck in his eye, he takes a second to think before nodding starting to slither his way down the path his body brushing up against the trees on the side "It's been decades since I've shown myself to multiple people... i used to scare them" He states but let's out a confused hiss when you start laughing "You? Scary? But your such a big softy" you tease making the snake laugh at you and shake his head "Says the young one who was sacred of me at first" You blush with embarrassment and tense up at his words before moving up some more and leaning down to meet his good eye "I was not scared" you state glaring at him but the giant snake smiles chuckling under his breath "Sure little one... what ever you say" he teases back making you pout and move back up to sit on his head where you cross your arms over your chest.
The 5 protectors where more than happy to help Glykon while the other villagers put out fires and tended to any wounded, luckily no one died, well not on our side at least but there were a few injured, including the men who where on the ship that first spotted the Germa 66 ships, their boat was destroyed but thanks to one of the protectors they managed to be saved and taken back to land. You had a few cuts and bruises but other than that you were fine the only people you were worried about now was your grandmother and Glykon who people where amazed at but gave him his space as the protectors dealt with his injuries. "Y/N" your Grandmother calls running up to you while avoiding tripping on any rubble, with a smile you run over to her and hug her tight feeling her cry into you "You stupid, stupid girl" she cry's but you don't blame her, you made her worry about you, looking up wipe away her tears "I'm sorry grandma but i'm ok and so's Glykon" she sighs at your apology but nods her head and holds you close "Don't do that to me again. I'm so glad your ok" Smiling you hug her back glad that everyone is ok, your home may be in ruins but you can always rebuild, no one was killed and Glykon is here and alive. The giant snake hovers over you and your grandmother for a second waiting for you to notice, looking up you smile at him seeing a large white bandage wrapped around his face covering his injured eye, the 5 protectors try talking to him telling the giant snake he needs rest but his good eye is on you.
Pulling away from your grandmother you step closer to the snake who lowers his head down to your "Are you ok now?" you ask before he can speak, a large smile appears on his face at your words as his eyes soften no longer looking serious "I'm fine, thank you Y/N... You are a kind and brave soul, threw the past few years i have come to know you more than anyone else, i find myself waiting, looking forward to your visits and i have watched you grow into an amazing and loving young lady" his words make you tear up, you have no idea why he's saying all this, a part of you thinks he's going to leave or maybe die on you but your troubled thoughts are soon stopped "I wish to bistro my greatest gift onto you, young lady... if you will let me" a large smile forms on your face as you nod, a snake of your own, someone who will always be with you no matter where you go or what you do. You'll never be alone and you'll always have a part of Glykon with you in a way. "Hold out your arms" the snake rises up as you hold out your arms, one of the protectors raises and eyebrow and steps forward about to say something but another grabs his shoulder shaking her head at him. Glykon opens his mouth his two long fangs hovering over your arms, it scares you a little, thinking if he's going to bite you but you keep your arms out and still for him. The fangs start to form little droplets on the end, pure black almost like the water but its much thicker, they soon drop onto your skin, one on each arm before seeping into to your skin, the black water almost like ink starts spreading out creating two long and beautiful tattoo'ed snakes on each arm.
Looking up at Glykon as he closes his mouth your eyes widen in surprise no on has ever been gifted two snakes before "I-I think there's a mistake" You stutter only for the giant snake to nuzzle its snout into you "No young lady this is no mistake" A large smile forms on your face as you hug the snake's head as best you can, your a protector of this island and its people now and you intend to do your very best. It took almost two years for the city to be fully built but life was getting back to normal, the news got word of what happened and since both sides of the fight refused to talk about it rumors continued to spread. You spent a lot of time with Glykon and learning with your snakes, you could only get one out at a time, but they were strong and you intended to fight with them like all the other protectors do. A part of you thought you could never leave the island now since your a protector but Glykon never stopped encouraging you to dream about the outside world so you made plans to leave after you finished school. A year before you finished school your grandmother passed away in her sleep, it was sad but the funeral was beautiful, and she had a great life, you where nothing but thankful to her, for everything she had done for you and you promised to live your life like she did, with understanding, love and kindness.
Standing on the beach looking out at the rising sun you throw your bag onto the boat, you graduated from school yesterday and the village wasn't exactly happy that you would be leaving, but they didn't stop you either just told you to keep their secret. "Are you going to go or just stand there?" You smile at the smooth deep voice behind you, turning to see the now one eyed giant white snake slithering towards you "I was waiting for you, your late" you state putting on a fake glare but you can't be mad at him, the giant snake stops in front of you his head close to your face "I'm not late, your simply early" He states making you crack a smile and shake your head, in truth had you doubts about leaving, Glykon is family to you and you don't want him to be alone again. Hugging the snake's head you relax into him, your hands actually managing to touch the sides of his top lip now "Are you sure your going to be ok on your own?" you ask scared to look into his eye as you speck instead keeping your face in his snout, he sighs feeling your doubts about leaving but in a calm voice reassures you "I'm not alone young lady and i never will be again thanks to you... Listen you may be a protector of this island but i still want you to see the world... i know if i ever need you, you'll come running but until that day comes i want you to live your life" he states before lifting your body off the ground and placing you in the boat, slowly letting go you look up at the giant snake who moves his head away before pushing the boat off the beach and into the sea.
Gasping you step closer with tears in your eyes but soon wipe them away and smile waving to him "I'll see you again some day... I love you Glykon" You yell out as the boat gets further and further away, the giant snake bows it head at you before letting out a low hiss "Be safe young lady... I love you too" You laugh as you wave at him happy to hear those words from him. You sailed threw the north blue for a couple of weeks making it to Lougetown, you learned about Gold Rodger in school since he started the great pirate era, it surprised you though how different people thought different things even with a marine base nearby and some people didn't mind speaking their minds. After a few days there you decided to head to the grand line but your small boat would never be able to make it over revers mountain even with the help of one of your snakes but luckily a bunch of kind fisherman offered to take you over in exchange for helping catch bigger fish with your snakes. It was a fun experience being with those weird old men, but they were nothing but kind to you. Once on other side you got off on the first island they stopped at after having to make it past a giant whale with scars all over it. You stayed on the island for almost a week before meeting the straw hats, Luffy freaked you out at first with all his question about your snake. It was busy fighting at the time and yet this strange boy was bouncing around you with all the energy in the world, it brought a smile to your face so when he asked you to join his crew you said yes.

⤷ female, ambiguous race, and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: Am I currently watching Winter Soldier? ... yes. It’s such a comfort movie though. Also, Steve is such a comforting character ... Chris Evans’s voice is like sinking into a hot bath on a winter’s night. Okay maybe that last sentence was kinda cringe, but oh mother effin well.
warnings: mentions of domestic violence, no details though - it’s only briefly mentioned
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
SFW🌿
・The sexual tension between the three of you was insane.
・You couldn’t deny the chemistry, but Steve was barely ready for a relationship. So polyamory was something that was completely off the table...
・That was until he met you, Nat’s secret lover, turned significant other.
・A jealousy grew in him, that he hadn’t realised he had. A jealousy that he hadn’t felt so strong
・It was deep and he felt a pull from his very core. Like he was meant to know you, and be ... with you. But not just you. With Nat. Because he felt so strongly about her.
・Not just her physical beauty, but the pain that she’s gone through. He can see that. He can connect with it.
・He sees you and Nat tied in some way, and he wants everyone to see him as tied to the two of you as well
・It was your idea. One night snuggled next to your love, her red hair tied loosely in a bun, you brought Steve up.
・And she changed ... it wasn’t a big change, but you felt it in her demeanour. Like a sixth sense from you, you knew she felt a certain way about Steve
・So, when you said out loud that you wanted him to be apart of your relationship, as a third party. She blanched. Shocked. Not in a negative way. But in a ... ‘this can’t be real’ type of way
・ “Are you doing this for me...?” she whispered, her hold on you tightening
“For you? Baby, I like him... there’s something about Steve...”
“There definitely is something about Steve...” she laughed, pulling you closer
・Within the next few weeks she brought it up
・And he dropped what he was holding. One of Tony’s thousands-of-dollars tablets. The super soldier, THE Captain America, fumbled and let the tablet drop
・ “Not how you were expecting the day to go huh?”
・He turned into a bright red tomato. Cliche, but he did.
・And he couldn’t look Nat in the eye until a week later, when he asid he’d be up for it.
・ “I want to take it slow,” he was sitting in his dining room. With the two of you on the opposite side of the table
・You smirked up at him and Nat had an almost identical smile. Cat-like.
・ “You call the shots, Captain.”
・You both honoured Steve’s wishes to keep things slow. You knew something like this was going to be a bit tricky
・But it turned out much easier to manoeuvre
・Steve likes being in charge of certain things around the house, and although you and Nat don’t adhere to gender stereotypes, Steve does want to mow the lawn and take the garbage out.
・He also likes to make dinner and do the laundry. Nat’s version of a meal is usually a cup of noodles and two slices of toast with butter on it
・You like having lots of plants around the house and the other two actually look after them as well.
・It should be noted that Steve Rogers has in fact been caught dancing to Lizzo.
・And he can actually shake his ass very well (although he can’t twerk)
・There’s a lot of banter, and Nat can be very flirty with Steve. Her aim is to make him blush
・But there are also times when they connect on a deeper level because of the trauma they both have endured
・You all live in a four-bedroom flat in New York, with two bathrooms and a lovely balcony. It’s very safe.
・Nick Fury has been invited over many times but he never takes you up on your offer
・But Wanda comes over a LOT. And Steve is like an adoptive father to her, making you and Nat her adoptive mothers
・Nat invites Tony over and there’s a bit of tension between him and Steve. You ... like to watch to see what happens
・Whenever there’s a party at Tony’s, you’re always invited. Actually, you’re one of his favourite people - although he would never admit it
・One of Nat’s secrets is that she would love to go to women’s rights and justice protests, as well as Pride (she would TOTALLY dress up) but because of her line of work, she can’t be seen ... doing things like that (political things)

Your shane x reader are some of the first I read when i got into sdv, and they still hold a li special place in my heart <3 I love the way you wrote shane, jas, and the farmer (you kept the farmer rather neutral, but you still gave her moments of personality, rlly great stuff!), anyway, I'd love any shane related stuff you would do, but if your looking for a request, the reader teaching him abt farming/gardening (planting hot peppers together eee) i think would be rlly cute-ok bye lysm!!!
A/N: hey lovely!! If you're still around, thank you so much for this. I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to get to your request, but here it is! Hope it lives up to your expectations xx
Shane can feel you hovering behind him.
"What is it," he groans, not bothering to turn around.
"Sorry," he hears you say. "Just, be careful with the roots, please? I don't want all your work to be for nothing."
Well, he can't exactly fault you for that. If anything, he's ashamed because he was distracted while you showed him the whole thing about the roots.
He turns to look at you. "Would you, uh... mind showing me again?"
His stomach twists as you smile at him, thoroughly amused. "Sure thing. Here, let me get in there..."
You kneel beside him, knees firmly planted in the dirt beside his. You proceed to show him how to dig around the roots instead of into them for a second time that afternoon. For a second time, he finds it hard to focus with you so close, but he fights that a little harder this time.
"Here," you hand him back the trowel, "give it another shot."
He can't miss the way the look you give him is so damn encouraging. You've given him plenty of variations on that look by now, with various degrees of concern thrown into the mix. He proceeds to try digging up the pepper plant again, the sun boring down on the back of his neck as he does it.
"Am I getting it right, now?" he asks, glancing up at you quickly.
"Couldn't do it better myself," you nod exaggeratedly, and he fakes throwing dirt at you in retaliation.
It gets a laugh out of you, clear and joyful. It stirs something inside him, the feeling that's been nagging at him sort of often these days. It hits him like a ton of bricks in that moment that this is the feeling he used to chase all the way down the bottles, the sort of rush he used to think would make up for everything else.
He must've made a face when he realized it, because your brows furrow in concern.
"Are you o-" you start, but you're cut off short by a girlish squeal further down the field.
Him and you both shoot up, surveying the surroundings.
"Jas?" you half-shout, concerned.
"I think I need some help," her voice pipes up sheepishly, and the two of you finally spot her, fallen on her butt among the sunflowers.
You huff, relieved, and tell him you've got it with a brief touch on his arm before you leave in Jas's direction. Now that he knows she's not hurt, he can go back to making sense of his thoughts, yet he barely registers the lingering feeling of your fingers on his forearm.
He kneels and gets back to work, distraught. His first instinct is to worry. The therapist Harvey connected him with cautioned him pretty early on about the way some addicts replaced one addiction with another, and that all good things should perhaps be enjoyed in moderation while he was on the road to recovery.
You're the best thing in his life by far, but he failed to keep you at arm's length a long time ago now. He's not dense enough to be unaware that he's developed some pretty strong feelings for you. But this particular feeling is new-ish, and he doesn't quite know what to make of it. As his fingers dig up the pepper plant out of the ground and he gently removes chunks of dirt from the roots, Shane hopes really hard this doesn't mean he's allowed himself to veer all the way of the right path he's been trying so hard to stick to.
He hates to think about it, but maybe he needs to cool off on seeing you so often so he can at least get a grip. He can't even recall the last time he went a day without seeing you. Sometime in the spring, probably? It's the very end of summer now.
After he's transferred the plant to the wheelbarrow, Shane stands up and looks around. You're still helping Jas uproot some sunflowers, even though her initial job was just to collect the stray seeds. Officially, he and her were there to help you wrap up the summer crops so you could transfer some to your greenhouse. In reality, he was helping you; Jas was causing more trouble than she was helping, but you didn't seem to mind at all, more than happy to show her over and over how to handle things properly.
He didn't know how you did it. It's like you had an endless well of patience, and he knew he ought to have reached the pit of it by now. And yet, he had not. There were depths to your kindness that reached far enough that even after dealing with him through his recovery, you still had plenty left for Jas in all her fumblings and ill-advised adventures.
For the rest of the afternoon Shane managed to clear his mind and just keep working somewhat efficiently. Marnie came around just before dinnertime to get Jas, who was too exhausted from running around by then to protest. Marnie had also let him know she'd save him a portion of dinner for when he came home, but to take his time, which he'd made sure to thank her for.
It wasn't long until Jas left before you and him moved on to replanting the uprooted plants into the greenhouse. He liked that part more than the digging up; liked the hazy warmth of the greenhouse more than the blaring heat of the field. The two of you worked mostly in silence, both exhausted, him perhaps more than you.
After you planted the last of yours and he was halfway through his own last plant, he heard you clap your hands together to shake the dirt off your gloves, before you fully shrieked.
"What's wrong?" he quickly turned towards you.
"Your neck!" you replied, walking over to him. "Did you not put on sunscreen like I told you to?"
Shane instinctively reaches for the back of his neck, and while the sunburn doesn't hurt yet, he can feel the tell-tale heat coming off of it.
"Ah, shit. Think I missed a spot."
You tut at him, shooing his hand off so you can take a better look.
"You big idiot," you chastise him affectionately. "You're lucky I have an infinite amount of aloe in the house from last summer."
**************
As Shane steps out of the shower and into your steam-filled bathroom, he can already tell he'll be sore from all this work. He doesn't know how you do this every day. He tries to get a look at himself in the mirror, but it's too fogged up. Probably better that way, he thinks.
He's used your shower plenty of times before, and he's glad that at the very least it doesn't feel as awkward as it used to. While he was still in the pits of getting sober, you'd graciously let him stay over on your couch so Jas didn't have to see him struggle when it got too hard. He still doesn't know why you did that, or how to repay you for it.
After putting on his clothes, he steps out into your living room, where you're waiting for him with a huge tub of the goo you intend to smear on his sunburn. You've showered too, and made him do it after you because otherwise you claimed he'd just wash off the aloe later, which was probably right.
"C'mere," you beckon him over to sit on the arm of your couch.
He chuckles. It's funny to him, how bossy you get when you're trying to take care of him. Nevertheless, he does as he's told and dutifully sits down like you instruct him. And waits.
Nothing happens.
"You okay back there?" he asks, looking over his shoulder.
You raise a brow. "Aren't you gonna take off your shirt? How am I supposed to get this on you otherwise?"
He feels a bubble of panic rush up. He's in better shape than he used to be, but he's still not much to look at, and he doesn't like the idea of you finding that out like this. "Is that really necessary?"
You sigh, and he knows there will be no convincing you. He feels the tips of his ears burn as he lifts his shirt over his head, dropping it at his feet and taking precious care not to look back at you. "Happy?" he mumbles.
"Hmhm," you hum quietly behind him.
You bring your aloe-coated fingers to his burning skin, and instantly he feels consumed by ice-cold flames. He was not prepared for you to touch him quite so gently, to work the gel into his skin in tiny, careful circles. His throat runs dry as he's reminded of his earlier conclusion that he needs to take some time away from you, for both of your sakes. If the way his body is reacting to this isn't proof, he doesn't know what would be.
You let him know you're done, and he promptly puts his shirt back on. He wishes he hadn't when the stickiness gets a hold of the collar.
"So, just a heads up," you start, screwing the jar of aloe vera shut, "I'm gonna be really busy tomorrow I think. So maybe hanging out in the evening when I'm done would be better?"
He's taken aback by the way this is coming up faster than he anticipated. Still, No time like the present I guess, he thinks to himself.
"About that," he clears his throat, "I think it might be better if I spend some alone time for a while."
He watches you still. You look up at him slowly, visibly confused. "Have I done something wrong?" you ask, and it kills him. "I'm sorry if I have, I know I can be a little overbearing sometimes," you start to ramble, but he cuts you off.
"No, no, none of that," he tries to reassure you. "It's just, uh, how do I say this," he scratches at his head, genuinely at a loss. "Remember how I told you my therapist said I should, like, maybe be careful about things I enjoy a lot? And about... strong emotions?"
You nod, but he can tell from your slight frown you're still confused.
"Well, it's kinda like that. I feel really good when I'm with you. Maybe a little too good. Strong stuff. But I don't wanna depend on you to feel... good. I wanna keep this healthy, yeah?"
You ponder his words, and he can tell he hasn't really gotten his point across. "I mean, I think I get where you're coming from, maybe? But Shane, I think it's okay for you to have a support system. Is it really so bad if being with a friend makes you feel good? I think that's how most people feel."
He shakes his head, huffing. "No, it's not like that."
"Then what is it like?"
His eyes meet yours, and he feels weak. "Please don't make me say it," he whispers.
"Shane," you reach out to touch his shoulder, "You're worrying me."
He swallows. Before he knows it, it tumbles out of him. "I have feelings for you. I have for a while. And lately it's gotten a little out of control. So I need some time away from you to get over it, okay? I don't want things to be weird. I need you too much to have things be weird. So I need to figure it out before it gets there."
You stare at him, and he sees so many emotions run across your face that he gets dizzy.
"You... what?" you say quietly after a while.
He feels heat rise from his chest all the way to his ears, like some twisted type of nausea. "Forget it, alright? That's not the point I'm trying to make. I just..." he breathes, "I'll see you in a few days, yeah?"
He doesn't wait for a response. He goes for the door right away, in a real hurry to leave this place where everything is so blatantly yours, down to the smell of your lotion lingering in the air from your bare legs.
But you don't let him leave. He feels your hand on his arm, a real grip this time, and the next thing he knows you're reaching for his neck and bringing his mouth to meet yours. Shane thinks he's forgotten how to make his blood run, how to make his lungs breathe, how to make his limbs move. You're pressing your lips on his with a fervor he didn't even know you had in you. Then, with an instinct of its own, his body kicks back into gear, and he feels himself wrapping his arms around you, bringing you closer yet as he pours all the energy he has left into kissing you back.
It's desperation that compels him, because he never imagined this would ever happen outside of his mind, outside of his daydreams. He's not even convinced he'll ever get to do it again, so he's making this one count.
He genuinely has no idea how much time has passed when you break away from him, panting. You're not saying anything, just searching his eyes with yours.
"Please say something," he eventually breathes.
He watches as you swallow, then exhale loudly. "I don't want to see you in a few days only. I wanna see you now and in the middle of the night and every moment of every day. I don't want you to go and get over me, because I don't think I'll be able to get over you if you do, Shane. So don't leave me. Stay. Please."
Your words fluster him a great deal more than he already is. "Okay," he nods, in a half-daze.
"Yeah?" you make sure, still catching your breath.
"Yeah," he confirms. "Anything for you. Of course."

Thank you for the request and support! I appreciate it so much! Feedback is always welcome and appreciated, I really hope that you all enjoy this one!!
Summary: You finally reach the force signature that had been reaching out with you for weeks, only to realize it's none other than Darth Vader, the boy you once raised.
PART TWO, PART THREE, PART FOUR
Tumblr media
(gif! not mine!)
"Rex, take care of Ahsoka for me... I know how badly she wants to be on this mission. I can't risk it," you mumbled through the holo-comm as you carefully landed your ship.
"You know I always will. She's busy with Ezra right now anyways, so hopefully, he'll keep her mind occupied. Just be safe. If this is Maul, we need to know why he's been reaching out to you," Rex replied, his voice sounding tired.
You sighed, clicking everything off before standing, "Don't worry, Rex. It'll work out. I'll be home within a rotation."
"You better be," Rex joked lightly, "Be safe (y/n). May the force be with you."
"And with you."
Clicking off the holo-comm and leaving it on the ship, you quickly set off outside. Pulling up the hood on your grey cloak, you looked around cautiously, taking in your surroundings and using the force to reach out.
You could feel the dark side of the force more prominently now that you were here. It was almost strong enough to make out a force signature, but not completely. Despite the fact you still seemed far away from the dark force energy, it felt incredibly familiar, and that was what lead you to believe it was Maul. After all, he was the only Sith whose force signature you were familiar with.
It didn't take long for you to find the correct path leading to the Sith. Following the dark force signature proved to be an easy task for you. You trekked through the forest for what felt like hours. You carefully avoided all unknown plants and made sure to keep your presence as obscure as possible. You were using the force to the best advantage you could, mapping out your path while still trying to identify the oddly familiar Sith signature.
Finally breaking out into a clearing, you held your breath at the sight of Darth Vader's back. His cloak swooshed in the light breeze as you watched him, quickly thinking over everything you'd ever heard about him. You felt like you were in a holo-film, at the big climax moment when you face off the main villain. Fog would be piling in, surrounding you and Darth Vader as you prepare to fight.
Undoubtedly he knew you were there, and despite the fact, the two of you had never encountered each other before, your force signatures were incredibly familiar. Dancing around each other like fawns, trying to figure out why the unknown was so incredibly welcoming, like coming back to an old friend.
"I did not know you'd survived Order 66," Vader's ominous voice broke through the silence, venom, and hatred surrounding each word.
Slowly you stepped out from the faint protection of the trees, "It wasn't of my knowledge that you even knew me."
"I don't," Vader replied curtly, allowing a pause as your signatures moved around one another, "You're a Jedi unaccounted for."
"I prefer it that way," You snarled.
Dashing forward at the same moment Vader's force signature delivered a harsh prod to your own, you unsheathed your lightsaber. Leaping into the air and slashing down on Vader's back, you made contact with his lightsaber, sparks of grey and red dancing in the calm aura of the planet. He was quick to spin and send a counter swing at you, but you blocked it quickly. You locked sabers and spun him around, doing your best to throw him off.
Despite the situation of your fighting, you found each other still dancing within the force, trying to identify each other's signature. Your fighting was incredibly familiar to him, and his defense was familiar to you. Akin to a thunderstorm, you both fought quickly and powerfully. Neither obtaining the upper hand, you matched perfectly clash after clash, block after block.
Your fierce fighting was like a tornado destroying a small town. The planet around you was calm and peaceful, undisturbed by the fight for life you'd engaged yourself in. It certainly wasn't Maul who'd been trying to connect with you over the past weeks, and you found yourself wishing that it had been the Dathomirian instead. You'd overcome enough and lost too much to not give up now.
Finally flipping away, your hood fell as your force signatures connected, a gasp tumbling from your lips, "Anakin?"
"Master (y/l/n)," Vader responded softly.
A silence fell as you stared at one another. Of course, he was familiar. You trained Anakin, helped Obi-Wan raise him. You'd been Anakin's mom ever since he'd joined the Jedi, and he, your son. You'd assumed he'd died in Order 66, as Obi-Wan refused to talk to you. But now, staring across at Anakin in Vader's armor, you felt more like a failure than you'd ever had.
"You traded the purple for grey," Vader noted, causing you to look down at your blade.
Looking up at Anakin, you fought to keep your voice strong, "You traded blue for red, Ani."
"Anakin's dead," He snarled, turning off his lightsaber.
You mocked his actions, tilting your head slightly, "If Vader was here, he would've killed me already, Anakin."
"I am Vader! My name is Vader," The man huffed, "I killed Anakin myself!"
You shook your head, "I will not call you something you're not, Anakin. I trained you to be honest... true to yourself and your emotions. I will do the same now."
Vader seemed to falter, his hands repeatedly clenched and unclenched. The soft whir of machinery filled the air as you stared at the man in front of you. You took a step forward slowly, your eyes filling with remorse as you used the force to search through Anakin.
"What'd they do to you, my sweet Ani?" You whispered, "Why didn't you come to me? I could've helped you."
"Nobody could've helped him!" Anakin raged, yelling in anger that seemed directed at himself, "He was lost! Gone! Anakin would've died regardless! I, Vader, would've killed him regardless!"
"No," You mumbled, looking around at the planet you'd been called to, "You wouldn't have died, Ani. It would've been like any other mission, any other obstacle before. I would've helped you get through it, like always."
"Anakin is dead!" Vader cried out, his voice breaking, a hint of desperation sneaking through, "He's gone."
Slowly, you stepped forward, watching the way Anakin's chest rose and fell with each mechanical breath, "No... you're not gone, Anakin. You're not gone, and like all the times before, I'll be waiting to help you."
Taking in a deep breath, you anxiously wrapped your arms around Anakin, noticing how much taller he was. His arms remained by his side in shock, trying to sort out his emotions. Anakin's mechanical breathing filled your ears as you squeezed the boy you raised. Tears fell down your cheeks as you held him to your chest, wishing you had been able to help him. Wishing you'd stayed by Anakin more during the Clone Wars. Wishing that you could turn back time and save the little boy you loved so much.
Squeezing tighter for a brief second, you whispered, "I love you, no matter what, Anakin."
Letting go of the man, you stepped back quickly, hoping that the powerful Sith Lord hadn't seen your tears. But you knew that you'd been too slow, and you knew Anakin knew you better than that. Watching as you walked back and disappeared into the trees you'd come from, Darth Vader wondered if he would ever see you again. He'd reached out to you for weeks, and he wondered now if you would ever reach out to him, remind him you were still alive, waiting for Anakin to return.
Boarding your shuttle, you let out a cry as you reached for your comm. There were so many regrets you held and so much you wished you would've done. But the past was not something you could dwell on. You could only hope that you'd been able to reach Anakin quickly enough.
"Rex?" You called weakly into the comm. You waited patiently for Rex's reply until you heard your name called worriedly, "I'm coming home."

Tap Dancer Fish

word count: 1.5k
summary: Zoro´s haramaki is falling apart and he can´t find another one to buy. You decide to crochet him one before he kills someone.
highlight: ¨You must be tired... stupid marimo.¨
notes: This was an anon request for a fluff where they have a s/o that made them a thing with crochet and how they would react. This is 1/3 of the request, we´re starting with Zoro <3
Tumblr media
𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘, 𝖗𝖊𝖖𝖚𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖘, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊!
Tumblr media
¨Any luck?¨ you asked without taking your eyes from the city guide, even with the rowdy sound of the metal chair scratching the brick sidewalk.
¨No.¨
¨Need any help?¨ you tried to hide your smirk by sipping your coffee.
¨No.¨
¨Well,¨ you closed the map and placed it on the table ¨I still have some errands to run. I´ll take a look around, see if I can find it. ¨
¨Thank you.¨
You placed a hand on his chest and gave him a quick peck on the lips before making your way back to your tasks.
The Strawhats had docked on a Spring Island called Gardenia. It reminded you of Dressrosa, but without the talking toys and mad king. The houses and stores were all painted a shade of green or brown, but what made it extraordinary to the eyes - and nose - was the number of flowers. All kinds of all sizes and colors decorating everything around you.
However, while you felt like an enchanted character from a fairy tale, your boyfriend felt trapped in a nightmare. For starters, everything smelled like flowers; Sanji would not stop bumping into him, saying that he mistook him for a moss tree, and the flowers made every corner look the same, so he got lost all the time.
But what was really making him grumpier than usual was his haramaki, the green garment he wore religiously around his belly - well, not religiously.
He has been procrastinating to get a new one for a long time, and despite you offering to purchase it whenever you ran errands, he would always turn the offer down. The problem was that it was not keeping itself anymore. After all the battles he fought and opponents he defeated, his haramaki was falling into pieces.
In the beginning, you were able to patch it up with some simple sewing, but now he needed to get a new one. And here´s where problem number two arises, you have entered a chain of summer and spring islands where they don´t usually sell this stuff. As a result, Zoro was mad at everyone - you were an exception, though.
It pained you to see him bothered like this, despite all of your previous warnings. Everyone has their own thing, Luffy has the straw hat, Chopper always carries his blue backpack, Sanji never stops smoking, and Zoro wears his haramaki. Anyone would be bothered, although anyone would listen to your advice.
So you came up with a plan. Since you could not find one to buy, you were going to crochet one. That was an interesting fact that no one knew so far, your ability of crocheting. You would do it whenever you were in charge of the night watch, and when you presented someone with a piece of clothing that matched their personality or traits, you would say you found it in town. Reason being that you didn´t want to be swamped with sweaters and beanies to do. You knew the crew would go crazy if they didn´t have to pay for winter clothes anymore.
¨Yosh, now I just have to make it.¨ you looked at the green ball of yarn in your hands before hiding it at the bottom of your bags.
~
¨Oi, Luffy! Don´t steal her food!¨
¨But she´s not even eating it, Sanji!¨
¨Y/N, are you ok?¨
¨Y/N?¨
¨Y/N!¨ you almost fell off the chair when you woke up from your zombie state.
¨What?¨
¨You look tired. Are you getting sick?¨ Robin asked, placing a hand on your forehead. ¨I hope you didn´t get some deadly poison from a plant.¨
¨Oi, Robin! Don´t say these scary things!¨ Usopp cried and walked away from you.
¨I couldn´t sleep last night.¨ the girls stared at you with a malicious smirk, and Sanji stormed out on flames ¨Yeah, uhum, I wish! I couldn´t sleep because Zoro kept rolling on the bed, it felt like I was sharing a bed with a tap dancer fish!¨ you shouted grumpily.
The longer he stayed without a decent haramaki, the more jittery he got. So throughout the night, he rolled on the bed, got up to train, went back to bed because he was too frustrated to train, mumbled and grumbled, and made you go through his insanity with him. At some point, you were planning on throwing him off the ship or choke him with that stupid belly warmer.
After you finished your third cup of coffee, you decided to head to the deck. Your green-haired tap dancer fish was napping on the grass with furrowed brows and arms crossed. Suddenly, the irritation you felt was gone.
¨You must be tired... stupid marimo.¨ you whispered and made your way to your room.
He never bothered you before. Even when the other guys made him go crazy, he would always lay down, hold you close to his body, and sleep. On the days you were not so tired, pillow talks would last hours and hours, and he would tell you things he hasn´t told anyone; he would show interest in the stupid things you like and be the Zoro the other guys would never get to know.
So you fought your will to go to sleep and grabbed the wool and a hook, determined to put an end to both of your miseries as soon as possible.
With Zoro napping all day, Robin in charge of the ship, and the rest of the guys exploring the Island, you would have all the peace in the world to work.
And that was exactly what you did. You were definitely going to hear from Chopper for going the entire day without a sip of water or bathroom break. Your fingers were red and hurting, and your shoulders were stiff and sore. But it was worth it.
It was almost dark when you finished, part of you wanted to wrap it with laces or some sort of crap, but you passed out as soon as you heard the snap of the scissor cutting the yarn. You didn´t even know you had passed out until you woke up the next day, sunlight hitting your eyes.
You were alone in bed, but not the way you imagined. You expected cramps and spasms to take over your body, but all you got was a slight soreness. You were in your pajamas and tucked like a baby.
¨What the-¨ you sat and searched over the blanket looking for the crochet garment, but found no sign of it ¨Did I dream about that?¨
You threw yourself off the bed and marched - more like crawled - to the kitchen, craving for coffee.
¨Morning, Y/N!¨ everyone was already up, although Luffy was sleep eating again.
¨Morning, guys.¨ your voice came out sleepy. You grabbed a cup of coffee and sat beside Zoro ¨Good morning, you.¨ You smiled.
¨Morning, sleepyhead.¨ He kissed your temple.
¨I´m so happy you found it, Y/N. I don´t think we would be able to handle his mood anymore.¨ Nami said relieved, and Zoro yelled something when everyone agreed. You gave her a confused look, and she pointed at your boyfriend.
Your eyes scanned him, oblivious for a moment, but when you noticed him wearing the haramaki you made, a big smile grew on your face. That also explains why you slept comfortably in your pajamas, he must have gone to check on you and saw your pitiful state alongside his present.
¨Yeah, I was lucky, I guess.¨ He held your hand tighter under the table.
After breakfast, the two of you decided to stay on deck, enjoying the gentle sun and the fresh breeze before it was time to set sail again. You were sitting between his legs, against his chest, and his hands rested on your lap while you played with each other´s fingers.
¨Thank you... for making it for me.¨ You forgot about sore muscles. You forgot about raw fingers. Listen to him sounding so relaxed and peaceful made you forget about everything.
¨Thanks for not telling the guys I made it. Besides that, how are you going to protect my ass if you can´t focus without this stupid belly wrap?¨ he let out a lazy laugh, and you felt his body vibrating against yours.
¨Well, thank you again. I really liked it, and I won´t ruin it.¨
¨I know.¨ you whispered, closing your eyes and seizing the moment.
You knew he would eventually destroy it, but that was fine. You didn´t have the emotional connection to it like he had. What mattered to you was his well-being. You were not strong enough to protect him - not that he needed - so keeping him warm and loved was your internal mission. Because that´s how he made you feel.

the good god is you, all good, all the time, is you | paz x reader
A/N: just something short and simple and kind with paz, because i want to kiss him all over (because i’m his riduur, of course) and is there anything wrong with that?
even though it’s a relatively universal phrase, the title is a line from god is good all the time by porsha olayiwola. i also kinda had the vibe of that poem in mind as i wrote this too. 💕
hope you enjoy! 💗
summary: love-making, pretty much.
content: fluff, domestic love and stuff, fem!afab!reader, smut-ish?, because there is cockwarming on the back burner lol, and they kinda seggs at the end?, body worship, paz is a heartsick dork, and plays with your booba, and you play with his
word count: 1,427
It’s in the dewy moments after, when everything feels the way a sunset on Naboo looks, when there’s nothing in the galaxy that can touch either of you. Paz holds you tight with his burly arms, helmetless, and everywhere else exposed too, slick with the sweat that coats the both of you, and keeps you slippery and bare against one another, like fishes in the big blue sea.
There’s no need to open your eyes, not right now. The heaviness that’s settled over you keeps your eyelids shut, and the wetness on your lashes does too. So you focus on Paz, who’s silent and basking in the afterglow the same as you, and focus just enough to listen to the steady, echoing thumps of his heart, and his long, rhythmic breathing. In, out. In, out...
You revel in the expanse of his body beneath you, his broad shoulders, his hard pecs, the light brushing of hair on them, his soft tummy you love— all strength, all the time— and sigh into the soft dip behind his collarbone. Make no mistake, you revel in that too, and the warmth of it all.
Another soft sigh passes your lips when Paz shifts beneath you, his legs further entwining with yours, all to pull you in and keep your hips flush to his, and him within you. He’s not a hard, hot rod anymore, finally spent after three rounds, but the girth of him is familiar, kept locked within you, the puzzle piece meant to be. The feeling of the connection, almost divine in it’s interlocking, is like an oasis in a vast desert, all relief and sanctuary.
Paz grunts softly, moving again, and you smile when you feel him both shift inside you and plant kisses on your scalp. His lips are warm and soft as they follow your hairline, each one everything good. You feel the tender brush of the tip of his nose too, and catch a warm inhale or exhale in your hair, like a gentle breeze in summer.
“You asleep, mesh’la?” Paz’s voice is low, resonant in his chest and throat like the echo of a distant waterfall. The hands he has on your body, heavy and calloused weights, start to glide up and down your spine. You make a small noise of denial, digging your face into his chest, kissing him softly as you do. Paz shudders, his chest trembling beneath you, and so you kiss him more, with more determination too. Take this Paz, it is yours.
A few seconds pass, and you finally bring yourself to open your eyes, blinking at the quiet brightness of the room and exhaustion, but finding so much awareness with the man under you. Your eyes lock to your hand, taking in the beskar ring on your finger, and Paz’s pec beneath it. The crests of his deep brown skin are bronzed by the dim orange lights of the bedroom, and the dips are the darkest parts of him. Your eyes flit to his nipple that’s below your fingers, and you smile mischievously against his chest.
“Hey.” Paz jerks slightly when you pinch it, and lifts one hand to plant firm on your ass and squeeze hard in retaliation. You jerk in turn, the laugh in your throat briefly caught by the pleasantness of Paz moving in you, and you turn your head to look up at him, eyes twinkling.
Paz has just the most mellow, lovestruck look on his face and in his nut brown eyes, all his features softened by the endorphins from sex and love. In this light, all starry-eyed, all satisfaction and boyishness under an amber hue, he looks especially rich, like the opulence of gold and the taste of good, thick caf. He is gorgeous.
“What?” You croak playfully, voice a bit raw and still a little husky, craning your neck to kiss his chin, his thick beard prickly against your lips. Paz chuckles deep in his throat, one hand gliding the length of your spine. He dips his head so that he’s able to press his lips to yours, tender and brief, easy too. Everything is just so easy with Paz, all the time.
“I like your boobies.” You murmur when you part, grinning when he laughs, a quick bark that’s louder since you’re so close to his face. Paz’s hands slide up your ribs until they cup your breasts from the sides. He squeezes gently and you laugh, slapping him on his shoulder, and his sweaty skin is slightly tacky, like a honey glaze.
“Don't tweak my nipple, pretty girl.” He says in that toothless authoritative tone he puts on with you when he won’t really put up a fight. You giggle, the tip of your nose rubbing against his, and you kiss his smiling lips again. He hums, low in his chest, a purr of a humble lion.
"You like it, though." You tease, squealing when Paz swats your ass, and giggling profusely as you kiss his cheek. Pulling away, eyes soft like his, you place your lips to his for a slow, languid kiss. Paz moans into your mouth, allowing you to drink from him all his love. When you pull away you breathe him, and he breathes you, and the moment becomes warmer.
“I think yours are better.” He rumbles, bouncing them in his palms, thumbing your pliant nipples to roll them until they become stiff peaks again. You keep giggling profusely, even as you wriggle in his grasp to arch up just enough to plant kisses over and over again atop the skin and muscle above his heart, beating as strong as the beskar he wears.
“Mesh’la.” Paz speaks, breathless and maybe desperate too, but you keep kissing, because he is yours, you are his, and you love him. He groans quietly, hips shifting and you break your trail across his chest to sigh as you feel him sink deeper, a heavy anchor nestled tenderly inside you. Paz still has his hands on your chest, and he kneads your breasts, slowly rolls them in his large palms the way he does to get your body warm and quivering.
“Paz... honey...” You whine, feeling how he swells inside you, like filling a pitcher with water, or how the temperature grows as the sun rises. Your body is glossy and glistens with sweat, beads of it line your hairline, and as Paz moves again, sitting up and pulling you in to the furnace of his body, you gasp at the heat of it all.
“One more time, baby girl, just one more time.” Paz’s lips fervently move on your neck, sucking marks atop fading ones and new ones on clear skin. His body rocks against yours, the sweat built up between the two of you making each movement wet, sticky. Paz sucks on your collarbone then nuzzles his face into your chest, kisses sternum, and pleads, “Let me cum in you one more time.”
One more time...
“Okay.” You breathe into his hair, the tight black coils tickling your nose. He smells like pine trees, the lavender and birch shampoo you use, sex, and the scent of man, the distinct Paz variety. You could get drunk off it, and the tight bubbling building up in your lower tummy.
His hips shift, going low then high, and he repeats it— once, twice, three times— your body jostles in his arms, rocked to and from his heaving chest, like a ship caressed by the kind waves of a gentle sea.
Four, five, six— you lose count, lost in the swirling ocean that is love and Paz.
Dark brown hands grip your hips, and you place yours above them, because you know you aren’t going to last much longer. He isn’t either, evident by his trembling breath.
“Paz!” The final gasp of his name comes with the rolling tide of orgasm, the fever pitch breaks to something resembling pure, and Paz is swept away with you, whispering your name to your heart. Both of you are breathing heavily, trembling and shuddery from your releases. You smile at the liquid warmth deep within you, and kiss Paz’s slick forehead. He looks up at you from between your breasts, still starry-eyed and now even more satisfied, tender.
“... Your boobs are still better.” He quips and you laugh, arms wrapping around his neck to pull him into a kiss. It really is in the dewy moments after, when there’s nothing but laughter, when nothing in the galaxy can touch either of you, not ever.

Summary for Code:03 is here! I hope you guys will enjoy (spoilers, not really!)
Recap: Murase-officer was killed by Verlaine, so Chuuya and Adam were going to find out why he had become Verlaine's target.
From the blue mobile phone acquired from Murase-officer's pocket, Adam believed that the phone was not the original but got replaced by someone, and hence Adam inferred that Verlaine was the one who did this in order to wiretap his call, and Adam was able to get the recording of the final call on Murase-officer's phone.
'It's me, brother,' that's the voice of Murase-officer.
'The gravity guy is here, just like what you said. Wait! There is one more person! Who is this? What's his relationship with Chuuya! Call me when you hear this!" and that's the end of the call.
This recording took place shortly after Verlaine invaded the police station.
'That's very interesting,' Adam was sure about something, 'With reference to my record, his brother was supposed to be dead already.'
Murase-officer's brother, was dead in April 14 years ago. He died in an accident while conducting an experiment. His name was not on the official record, nor there was any photograph of his appearance, so let's call him N for now.
'Officer-san's brother, participated in the research of Arahabaki?' Chuuya said.
The creator of Arahabaki...? Adam could not handle such surprise in his mind. The trio (Chuuya, Adam and Shirase) continue to deduce the hints they have. They supposed N was probably the only survivor as all scientists were dead during one explosion of the experiment. Now they know, Verlaine's next target was N because he was the only one left who knew the secrets behind Chuuya. Henceforth, they have to find N now.
'Hey, you...' Shirase looked at Adam with a terrified face as if seeing a ghost. Adam was confused, but the next second he realised, that was Adam himself talking.
'I am the one who needs your help,' Adam's mouth moved, 'Adversely, you need my help too. I am the one whom you called N.' The man who called N hacked into Adam and delivered this message.
'I can no longer speak to you in such a way, come here, I want to meet you. I will leave the address in this machine.'
'Hey, wait. Meet us? What do you know?' said Chuuya
'Everything, Chuuya. Everything about you.' that voice spoke as if a god with a very calm voice, 'I am looking forward to meet you,' and the connection was lost.
-
They have arrived at their destination. It was a huge and broad place underground, as big as a tennis court, and there were firewalls built  in the surrounding with guards guarding the front gate. Chuuya, Adam and Shirase were stopped by the guards and demanded to do a blood check before they could proceed for security purposes, but of course, Adam was spared from it.
After finishing the check, they finally saw N. That person that stood in front of them, was exactly the one who stood next to Chuuya in the picture that the Flags gave him.
'I am the director of the Arahabaki Project. The military named me as N because this is the initial of Nakahara.'
'I am your father.'
-
'What do you think ability is?' The group were in a corridor of the facility.
'We, researchers, frankly speaking, don't really know what ability is. How embarrassing,' N proceeded.
But there were few things that were confirmed. Other forms of life apart from humans, such as animals or plants, are not able to possess ability. Also, when the human dies, the ability that he has will together vanish from this world. Every ability has a maximum of output of power, and the military wanted to know so badly how we could break the limits. Yes, there is a way to break the limit, and that's called ability singularity. This is a phenomenon that occurred as a result of two or more contradicting abilities interfering with each other. Which means usually it requires at least two ability users to create such a phenomenon.
However, there is one type of ability user that is able to create an ability singularity on his own. They are able to do so because their ability itself consists of theoretical contradiction. The first person who discovered this was a German scientist, and he named this type of ability 'self-contradicting ability'. To be precise, this ability allows the user to amplify the output of their own ability. Since the user can continue amplifying the power of their own ability, it gives them an unlimited source of power, which breaks through the limit of ability. However, this user also needs to take the risk because once they are granted infinite power, the high density of the energy will create a distortion in space and collapse it into a gravity vortex, and can never go back.
There was an intense competition between Germany, France and Britain on investigating this subject. Since Japan was the ally of Germany, Japan also acquired various techniques and reports regarding this topic. Since most of the countries were running out of resources by the end of the war, they were eager to take theories into practice, and the most advanced country on this topic was France. They successfully weaponised ability singularity, and they found out that the most effective way to control it was heart, in other words, the human's soul. Yet with such huge energy, it was afraid that ordinary humans were not capable to manage it, but ironically, only humans are capable of possessing ability. Therefore, the French scientists came up with a solution, and that is to create a homunculus with a soul, and that’s how Paul Verlaine came. Years later, the Japanese government also obtained the related information and hence proceeded to conduct a similar experiment, which later what was known as the Arahabaki Project.
-
N wanted to show Chuuya something, but it was considered top secret. So he asked Adam and Shirase to wait while he and Chuuya would go somewhere else.
While going to another room, Chuuya told N that he recognised this place. However, N told him that it was just the No.2 Laboratory which had the same design as No.1 Laboratory, and it was destroyed during the Arahabaki Project. So what Chuuya remembered was actually the environment of the No.1 Lab. Meanwhile, Chuuya recalled some of his memories in this facility. He recalled that he had been staying in darkness for a long time. Yet, he heard 'Invaders!' 'Lock area 8 and 15!' one day. He used to be inside a cradle and locked from the outside world. But that day, someone broke the cradle and a hand touched Chuuya. That's Rimbaud's hand, and next to him was Verlaine.
'You are a miracle, Chuuya,' said N.
N showed something to Chuuya, and that's a cylinder which has a size similar to Chuuya. The container was transparent, and it had some blue and black liquid kept inside it so it was quite difficult to see through.
'Who is inside!' Chuuya yelled, but N didn't say a word.
N pressed a button via a remote in his pocket, and the liquid began to drain, and Chuuya was shocked to see what appeared in front of him.
What inside the cylinder, was Chuuya.
The Chuuya inside the container had his eyes closed, and quite thin. His leg was locked by two chains respectively that linked to the bottom of the cylinder.
'May I introduce, your original,' said N.
Chuuya's jaw dropped.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, the teen inside the cylinder was in pain, and could not breathe. He cough badly and almost had his organs cough out.
'Hey! Are you alright!' Chuuya yelled.
'No way he would be alright,' said N, 'he had his living-saving fetal aqueous solution drained after all.
Chuuya grabbed the controller from N and pressed all the buttons on it, but nothing happened. Shortly after, that teen died, and his body including his skin, flesh melted together into a blue-black liquid.
All of a sudden, Chuuya felt dizzy and fell down.
'I designed you, so I know you the best. No matter how strong you are, you are incompatible with poison,' said N. Chuuya realised that poison was injected during the blood check. He was furious and tried to punch N. Yet, a bullet hit Chuuya's forehead, and he lost his consciousness immediately.
-
On the other hand, likewise, Shirase also felt dizzy. Adam noticed Chuuya might be in trouble as well. After keeping Shirase in a safe placed, he proceed to search for Chuuya.
-
In a room of nothing, Chuuya's upper clothing was deprived, and he was bleeding. The most serious injury he had was on his chest. His hands were locked up by chains that connected to the ceiling, and electricity went through his body via this chain. Under the order of N, Chuuya was injected with midazolam, and continued being tortured.
N revealed that Chuuya was the only experimental product in the country that consisted of a safety measure - in order to activate his full ability, a spell was needed. Once Chuuya said the spell, his personality will be erased and overridden. Such that Chuuya would be free from pain and darkness. And the spell was-
'O grantors of dark disgrace, do not wake me again! I will endure my solitude, arms seemingly already useless,' N said the spells.
'O grantors of dark disgrace, do not wake me again...' Chuuya repeated after N as if an automatic robot. This was the result of the midazolam.
'Very well,' N smiled
'I will...WHO ARE YOU?' Chuuya yelled.
'Raise the power,' N ordered the assistant to give Chuuya another electric shock, and Chuuya screamed.
-
Chuuya was not in a stable state of mind. He saw different kinds of illusion. He saw Dazai, Piano Man, Albatross, Ice Man, Lippmann and Doc, and the members of sheep. He was blamed by such an illusion, and his value of existence was denied.
The last person who showed up was Verlaine.
'I will kill this researcher,' said Verlaine in Chuuya's illusion. He gave his hand out to Chuuya and said, 'come here,'
'Why...' said Chuuya
'Didn't I tell you when we first met? I am here to save you,' Verlaine replied, 'Go, my brother. Kill N and take your soul back from this crazy world.'
-
Adam was dealing with the soldiers that were attacking him. At once, a teenager showed up in front of Adam, and he's Dazai.
'Nice to meet you Mr Inspector,' Dazai greeted, and he continued, ' "Why are you here?" I believe that's what you wanna ask me. I will tell you. That's a stage of the plan. "What's the plan?" you may ask, and I will tell you, everything.'
Dazai explained that the documents that he gave to Verlaine was the information about Murase-officer, N, and everything else. The purpose behind this was to save time, because Verlaine's initial first target was Mori. Hence, by manipulating the information, Dazai can squeeze out extra time and assassinate Verlaine back.
'According to the plan, Chuuya will kill N, and will not be a human anymore. However  I want to see Chuuya as a human, so I am here to stop him,' said Dazai.
-
A fight broke out in the laboratory where Chuuya was staying, and other people were evacuated from the facility.
Chuuya had immense hatred towards N.
'W...wait! I can't help with it! It's all work! I never ever once wanted you to suffer on my own!' N cried and tried to escape from Chuuya.
'Don't listen to him Chuuya,' Verlaine showed up in the entrance.
Chuuya was holding a chain on his hand tightly, and threw it out with the speed of sound and stabbed the target: Verlaine's chest.
'W...what?'
Tumblr media
'Didn't see that coming right, Verlaine. It's true that the researcher is harsh, but you killed Piano Man and the others after all,' Chuuya said, and the 'brothers' had a fight.
There was a mass explosion everywhere inside the room. The punches were able to create tiny suns and the gravity made the room collapse.
Amid the fight, N, who was injured nearby, yelled to Verlaine, 'If I died, you would never know your secret!'
' I am not joking, everything. Including the one you wanna know most - the Secret of the Gentle Forest,'
'How do you know this!' Verlaine shouted.
But there was no spare time for them, All of a sudden, a skeleton appeared. That's Chuuya's original, and that's what the body left after dying and melting in Chuuya's arm just now. It was connected with the tube and wearing a coat. The skeleton was under the control of N and launched attacks towards Chuuya, and he couldn't move
Shirase, who woke up and found Chuuya, surprisingly appeared and saved Chuuya by plugging out the tube from the skeleton. A while after, Adam and Dazai also found where Chuuya was. The battle was paused.
All of a sudden, the light in the room was turned off, but turned back on a few seconds afterwards. Yet, Verlaine and N were gone, and the ceilings of consecutive multiple floors above were gone as well.

You’d never think this rescue mission would lead to this. The plan was to get in, rescue Grogu, get Moff Gideon and walk out - the less damage the better. Needless to say, things didn’t go exactly according to plan, not in a single way.
But you definitely were not expecting an X-Wing to land on the ship and for a Jedi to walk out of there. Not any Jedi: Luke Skywalker. You’d heard a few gossips here and there about how he was the last great one of his kind, but you couldn’t predict that he’d sense Grogu and come get him. Ashoka? Sure. Luke Skywalker? Not in a million years.
It all happened so slow yet so quickly. One minute Grogu was in your arms, pointing at a screen, the next Din was saying goodbye to him, letting him see his face for the first time, while tears pooled across his vision before putting him down and letting the child waddle to Luke and the droid.
All eyes were focuses on Grogu as he exchange some sort of conversation with the beeping droid, before Luke’s eyes met yours.
“The force is strong with you too, Y/L/N”
“Just Y/N is fine.” you correct him, deferring his statement.
“Were you ever trained, Jedi?” he questions you, clearly noticing how unlike a Jedi your garments were - a beskar armor Din made sure to make buy you in Naboo as to protect you as much as possible, given the jobs you carried alongside him. It had cost him a great deal of credits but he didn’t want to hear a word about it. If it’s to keep you safe, I’d sell my own armor, he said.
“No?... I don’t know, I’ve just always felt The Force, I kind of taught myself everything I know."
“Have you ever maneuvered a lightsaber?”
You shook your head “No. Just blasters and spears.”
“A Jedi must learned to use one.” You don’t like where this conversation is headed and you can see by the way that Din’s shoulders are tensing up, as he stands next to you, that neither is he.
“Do you know the dangers of being your age and untrained, Y/N?” look questions, eyeing you only.
“No.” Din cuts in abruptly, stepping in front of you in a protective manner, his frame towering over you completely cutting your form from Luke’s vision “You’re not taking her as well.”
You can hear the croak in his voice. He is still on the verge of tears but there’s anger in there as well. Luke wants to take his lover away.
You step out from behind him to his side, left hand on his shoulder, forcing his bowed head to look at you. Your eyes meet his and it’s as if every muscle in your body felt like floating up to space. This man melted you every time.
But you have to own up to yourself, looking up at him with eyes as if to exchange a message in a language that only the two of you spoke. As if saying I should go.
His lips tremble and he shakes his head.
“Not you too, cyar’ika.” he begs.
“Din...”
“Don’t leave me. I’ve lost my home, my son, I - ... Please, don’t leave me” he grabs both of your hands in his, bowing his head and sniffing, as a single tear falls in the back of your hand.
The feeling of the wet drop in your hand opens your own gates, but only slightly, as you try to keep it together for the both of you.
“You don’t need to worry about me,”  you sniff, palming his cheek in your left hand “you have... plenty to figure out on your own.” you say touching the handle of the dark saber hanging from his gun belt.
“I don’t care about that piece of junk, I care about you.”
You wan’t to fight him back. You want to tell him how big of a deal that saber is and how much he should indeed care about it. But that wasn’t Din, that wasn’t Mando. He didn’t care about some stupid weapon or the status that it’d bring him. He went as far as to yield it to Bo-Katan as soon as he could, but unfortunately that’s not how it’s supposed to work. But he didn’t care. He only cares about the people he loves. And that made your heart ache all the most.
You are standing there, shaky breaths looking down at your hands, before sniffling and facing Luke.
“What happens if I go with you?” Din’s head shots up, looking at you,
“Given that you’re way past the normal age gap in which a Jedi is trained, you’d probably be assigned to a Master right away and they’d be responsible for all your training.” Luke explains, Grogu at his feet.
You nod and turn your head to look in Din’s eyes, your voice quieter now “And if I stay?”
“That’s... that’s not recommended as the grasp you have--” he starts
“What if I stay?” you insist.
“You’ll stay untrained, to put it simply. You’ll keep not understanding the dimension of your powers and the responsibilities that come with it. You might misuse it, you might not be able to control it and hurt the ones you love. You might kill without intending to, and you might turn to the dark side.”
“I would never - “ you interject, defending yourself
“It’s a faith you can’t control. Unless you train yourself. Unless you refine your skills.”
You ponder his words. The weight of both options dawning on you as you consider them.
“Even with me having a different Master from Grogu, will I still be able to make sure he’s okay?” you look at Grogu, adoringly. Who knew that little green ball of bald hair, if there even was such a thing, would become such a big part of your life.
“Arrangements can be made, yes.” Luke assures you.
You nod your head to yourself, eyeing the floor. You have made your decision.
You grab both of Din’s hands once again, this time his are the ones in between yours and you grab them hard. Not as to hurt him but to comfort him about what he knew you were about to say. But before you can say anything he shakes his head, another tear falling down his right cheek.
“Please, no.” he breathes
“It’s what’s best for everyone, Din.” you plead
“For everyone? I’ve lost my home, I’ve lost him, I can’t lose you too.” he takes a break to catch his breath, sniffling a few times “No, not you.”
“Din... let me go, please, don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
“How can you ask me that?” He looks you in the eyes. Those sweet brown eyes and his furrowed brows, asking you how you can even dare to break him this way “Please don’t walk out of that door.”
“If I stay, I might hurt people and I - “
“You’d never do that. You care for everyone you meet you’d never hurt people.” he brings your hands up to his chest, planting them there. You can feel both his breathing and heartbeat.
“You heard Luke...I might not be able to control it.” you try to reason with him “Din, if I ever hurt you I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.”
He bites his bottom lip trying to keep it from trembling and you grab the back of his head, feeling his curls and pulling his forehead to rest against yours.
“Do you trust me?”
“What? Of course I do.” he says in less than a second
“Then please...” you breathe out“ trust that I’ll keep him safe. Trust that I’ll come running back to you as soon as I finish my training.”
Seeing the scenario unfolding in front of him, Luke decides to help you out “She might also act as a link between you and the child. The three of you are connected by a very strong bond and Y/N can act as a communication link.”
You look in his direction, silently thanking him.
“Din.” you whisper his name. Oh how sweet his name has always sound in your voice. Every time you’d call him his heart would flutter inside is ribcage, but he would never admit to that. But he understands you.
“It is for the best, isn’t it?” he whimpers quietly, barely above a whisper.
“It is. I know it hurts. Fuck, it hurts so bad, but it is.”
Pulling slightly away from you, he reaches into his back pocket taking out something before offering it to you, on the side that is hidden from the other presences in the room.  He reaches down into his pocket taking out the sphere.  When he opens his gloved hand, you can see it’s the tiny sphere from the Razor Crest that Grogu loved so much.
“I want you to give him this.”
You shake your head, carefully closing your fingers over his “No.”
“But the kid -”
“Din, keep it.” you know it’s the only thing that he’ll have to remember the kid “You’ll need it more than him.”
There is silence, at last. Only both of your altered breathings can be heard for a while until you notice Din’s hands shuffling at the bottom of your peripheral vision. Looking down, you can see that he is taking his gloves off and your brows furrow in confusion.
Before you can process whatever was happening, his hands, his ungloved hands, come up to rest on both sides of your face and he holds you there. His hands are a little rough but you don’t mind - they are all the more warm and gentle as you feel his skin against yours. His thumbs wipe a few tears away from the corners of your eyes as they stare at him. His right hand slides slightly down from your cheek to your lips as he wipes your top lip, carefully, feeling the softness of them. His delicacy causing you to lean into his palm and placing your corresponding hand on top of his.
He wanted to touch you. If this were the last thing he gets from you, he’ll be happy with it. Slowly, Din then dips his head to join your lips with his in a passionate but sweet kiss, your hands still on top of his, cherishing his touch as much as you could. Despite your eyes being close, you can tell he was crying just as much as you as you could feel tears that weren’t yours come in contact with your cheeks.
Pulling away, but not enough to separate your faces, your foreheads rest once again against each other. One of his hands finds it’s trail to where your heart would be and he rests it there, you doing the same to him with your opposite hand. Feeling each other's heartbeat, connecting.
A few moments pass until you hear his voice again.
“This isn’t a goodbye is it?”
You shake your head slightly. “Not in a million years. We’ll both be back to annoy your ass before you can even notice.”
This causes him to give a half-hearted chuckle, yearning for the day when that happens. “If you come back-”
“When I come back...” you are quick to correct him.
“ When you come back, the first thing I’m going to do is make you my riduur, I promise you that much.” you squeeze his hand, intertwining your fingers with his.
“And I promise you that I’ll say yes, in a heartbeat.”
His head shifts slightly and he rest his lips against your forehead, whispering the words that until a year ago he would’ve never dreamed of ever saying to someone, but that he has since said so many times. But only to a single person. Only to you,
“I love you.”
“I love you.” you assure him against his chest.
Taking a big breath in, you pull away taking a good look at him one last time. Until suddenly you feel a tug on the bottom fabric of your armor. Looking down you can see Grogu with his little arms up, gesturing for you to pick him up.
Laughing between the tears, you reach down and pick him up, facing Din. In any other occasion, one could interpret the way the three of you were standing as a mother holding her child, saying farewell as the father heads out to work. But this reality is so much more painful. In this reality you’re both the ones leaving, and what you leave behind has a wound that won’t be fixed for a long time.
Tilting your head close to the kid you prop him to say his goodbye “Say bye bye to Din.”
Grogu’s little 3-fingered hand shakes as much as his arms allow him to in front of him as he coos, probably thinking he was articulating an actual farewell. Before you can a step away, Din grabs the back of your head one last time, kissing you between your eyes, before letting you go.
You step in Luke’s direction, communicating through The Force how grateful you were with him for being so patient, and he nods in acknowledgment.
“May The Force be with you.” he says to Din, who nods his head.
The four of you turn to walk away, but Grogu manages to climb up your arms and stay looking at Din as he gets farther and farther away. When you all reach the elevator you turn to face him one last time, using the force for what you never did before - connect with him.
I will always let you know where we are.
And as his eyes soften, you hear a response.
And I’ll always be at the ready to fly to you.

can’t find my breath

summary: At the beginning of the day, Ground Zero was just another hero you wrote articles about. You had met before, but neither of you could claim to know each other. Now it was nighttime and you'd just left a bar together. You gave the cabbie your address before Katsuki could say otherwise. Now, in your apartment with Ground Zero gone and Katsuki in his place, what would come next?
a/n: This is a companion piece to The Rest with No Sound. That story is the plot, this one’s the pwp.
edit: I no longer write x reader but here’s my old masterlist - mobile | desktop
Tumblr media
The jaunt from the cab to your apartment was a blur—and not because of the alcohol. You were swift with lusty haste, so the familiar path through your building faded into the background as you hurried up to your room. But you still had the wherewithal to remember that Bakugou—Katsuki—didn’t know it. “This way,” you said as you grabbed his hand as you rounded one of the unnecessary twists in the building and then decided not to let go.
“Okay,” Katsuki said, sounding glib, almost disinterested.
After spending the whole day with him, though, you knew better. There was no way his hand would still be in yours if following you, being with you, wasn’t exactly what he wanted to do in this moment.
Unlocking your door was a series of jerky motions, from searching your bag for your keys—should have done it in the cab, but your brain was a little too tipsy and way too aroused for sensible foresight—to yanking open your front door, ripping your camera strap off your neck, and sliding it on your coffee table. Sober, you might not treat your camera that recklessly. But, also, you weren’t wasted. You were just gone enough to tighten your grip on Katsuki’s hand and pull him to your bedroom without pretense.
As soon as you made it to your bedroom, Katsuki dropped his hero gear on the ground and looked at you, full eye contact for the first time since the bar. His skin was flushed, and you weren’t sure if it was from the alcohol or if there was something more. He hadn’t said all that much in the cab, but the tension had been palpable with your hand on his thigh, all corners of your left side touching as you scooted to the middle seat for proximity. Now, all the armor of Ground Zero was left on your floor, and you were left with nothing more and nothing less than Katsuki.
It surprised you a bit that he wasn’t the one making a move. The Katsuki you’d seen all day had been a man of quick decisions, confident and strong. But now, he seemed to be waiting for you.
You wouldn’t make him wait long.
You went to him, pulling him in and finally letting your lips crash together in a kiss. A great tension in you released while a new, even more exciting one started to knot in the space between your bodies. He met you eagerly, both your mouths tasting of the vodka you’d gone drink for drink on. His hand pressed on the small of your back, pulling you the rest of the way to him, making you smile against his lips.
This hadn’t been your plan at the start of the day. You hadn’t been following Katsuki for any reason other than that of a possible interview, a humble interest. You weren’t sure when the sexual tension had planted in your belly—or his.
Maybe it had been around the time you’d first touched his arm—or maybe that was just when you’d let your caution drown in your vodka tonic. You were a journalist, he was a pro hero—both of you wore caution as a tight lifejacket every day for your jobs. It felt good to take a reckless needle to it and pop.
You let yourself run your hands up his thick arms again and gave them a squeeze. It was so much better now that you didn’t have to be shy. Instead of settling for half a hold around his bicep, you could clutch and grip. Feel as much of him as you wanted.
A gasp pushed past your lips when Katsuki took hold of your shoulders and pressed you into the wall. Seemed he’d had enough of you taking the lead. Your game was over.
About time.
His callused hands slid under the shirt you’d been wearing all afternoon, past the dried sweat from when you’d run through the city together, from when your knees had slotted together at the bar. It was a commanding touch. Katsuki wasn’t precious as he squeezed your sides. His fingertips dug into your skin, as though he too wanted to hold you as closely as possible. Feel not only your skin, but your muscle and sinew. Everything. He dragged your shirt over your head and then he pushed you chest to chest. You felt his firm pecs against you.
“Mm,” you hummed.
“Something you like?”
The alcohol had sent Katsuki’s voice low with rasp, breathy and more intimate than his usual growl.
You pulled back reached up to touch his face and felt a five o’clock shadow you hadn’t seen earlier. The stubble was blond, golden even. Then you met his eyes. “I’ll tell you when there’s something that I don’t.”
You saw—and heard, thanks to your hearing quirk—Katsuki gulp and wondered for a moment if you’d been too bold. Not for you—you wanted to tell the truth, wanted to wear your heart on your sleeve—but for him. There was something aloof about Katsuki, something distant that you were only starting to see break down. But, at the same time, if your honesty was what built his walls back up, then maybe it would be better for him to step away, leave now while there was still an inch of distance between you.
He didn’t, though. His lips connected with yours once again, and now you registered that sheer stubble scratching against your chin. His big hands were on your bra, kneading into your breasts as he began to kiss down your jaw. You moaned at the warm sensation of his chapped lips against your delicate neck. The tips of his spiky hair tickled your cheek and you giggled, leaning your face away.
“What?” Katsuki asked, pulling back.
“Just a little tickle,” you said, playing with his hair as a smile made your nose scrunch up. “Carry on.”
His brows furrowed at you for just a second, then a lopsided smile graced his lips. You reached to peck them and gave him an expectant look, inviting back more of the action. He let out a little huff and then he was kissing you once more.
His hands moved to your back, fingers beginning to pull at your bra’s clasp. You murmured against his lips. “Hey, fair’s fair. You don’t get to see more of my goods until I see yours.”
Katsuki pulled back again and you wondered if he was getting fed up with you. Maybe it was the alcohol, but you were feeling silly. There was no need to rush, after all. You had all night.
But he was smiling again, brows quirked in that same amused confusion. Then, to your surprise, he said, “You’re something else, aren’t you?”
Eyes closed, you might have taken offense at his words. They came out low in his voice like an insult, almost an accusation. But eyes open, you saw the softness in his face, and you knew that it was a compliment. Probably the best one he could give. And you were going to take it.
“You’re going to find out, aren’t you?”
His smile widened for a second before falling, though the playfulness hadn’t left his eyes. Face serious, he prompted, “Which half qualifies as ‘the goods?’”
You indulged yourself in running your palms against his pectorals again, wondering if this was how men felt when they focused their attention on your breasts. If so, you finally understood it. “These,” you said. “For now.”
Katsuki stepped back and raised his tank up, throwing it to the ground—and making you gawk at his rippling muscles. It wasn’t that his tank top left much to the imagination—you’d read whole articles in the past that had poetic passages sculpting the body of David onto Katuski’s arms, the shoulders of Hercules imprinted over his own.
But this was so much better than the dry prose of paper and ink.
There was a thin layer of sweat on his body, catching the winking evening light on every bulging muscle. You couldn’t help but bend in and lick his chest from the lower crease of his pectoral up to his nipple, giving it a little bite. Katsuki hissed and you giggled, biting again. Then he had his hands back on you, ready to undo your bra. This time, you weren’t going to stop him.
Your bra was tossed to the floor and, the next thing you knew, your pants and his were next. When he took his belt off, the baggy things fell to the ground almost immediately and then he ripped off his socks. Somewhere along the way, you’d made it over to your bed, and Katsuki had pushed you back onto it before climbing on top of you, the only thing separating you both now being two thin pairs of underwear.
Katsuki was all teeth, nipping at your jaw, your neck, and making it down to your breasts before he bit hard, paying you back for your mouthiness. “Fuck,” you breathed when it took him a moment to let go, your nipple pulsing as the blood came pumping back. “You know, it doesn’t surprise me that you’re a little rough.”
“It doesn’t surprise me that you’re a little wordy,” he shot back.
The alcohol hadn’t made him any less sharp, that was for sure. And sharp was such a good word for this man. There were the sharp angles of his hair, his jaw, the sharp words spat like acid out of his mouth, and his sharp wit, keeping him from being another hunk with an overpowered quirk. You’d read—and written—enough articles featuring Ground Zero that you knew his brain was nearly as valuable as his brawn. And even though, right now, the brawn was what most of your focus on, you’d never have taken him home if that was all he’d had.
There was a lot to this guy. A lot more than any profiles or news reports had ever even scratched the surface of.
“Complaining, are we?” you shot back. “Then you should find a way to make me shut up.”
Katsuki’s eyes narrowed at you and you saw the same excitement you’d seen on his face before you’d gone to the bar. Challenging Katsuki was proving to be an excellent motivator. It put him squarely, willingly, in the palm of your hand.
“No problem.”
He’d already been making his way down your body, but—whatever his intent had been before—it now became crystal clear as he ripped your panties down and tossed your legs apart.
He didn’t hesitate. The moment his hands were on your thighs, the flat of his tongue ran the whole length of your cunt, making you tense up, and immediately fall into a groan. Your hands went into his hair, unafraid to tug a little as he began lapping at your clit in earnest. He’d been rough with you—you could pay him back in kind.
You hadn’t realized how aroused you were, but you could feel Katsuki’s tongue spreading your wetness across your pussy, proving how far gone you already were.
You moaned again when two fingers began prodding at your entrance, slipping around in your slick before sinking in, wasting no time in curling his fingers to prod at your spongy front wall.
This was the opposite of a tease, and it felt almost as infuriating. As wet as you were, the immediate attention—lips sucking at your clit, fingers not even thrusting so much as striking your g-spot—had your inebriated brain struggling to catalog the sensations. It was a blast of pleasure here, a burst of arousal there—almost like he was using his quirk on you.
“Fuck,” you whined again, giving his hair a particular tug as your body clenched. This was happening so much faster than the lead up had. You weren’t running towards your orgasm—you were tumbling. All it would take would be one trip and you’d fall over the edge before you’d gotten your breath under you, the ground under foot. He was going to yank it out of you before you were ready—and you weren’t opposed.
Then, all at once, he pulled away, a wicked smirk curling his wet lips to one side. You pushed up on your elbows, looking down at him in disbelief.
“Not quite silent, but definitely quieter,” he said, seeming pleased with himself. He crawled back up to you and pressed his lips to yours, giving you a brassy taste of yourself. “But I think I’d rather you scream.”
If you hadn’t been wet before, you were drenched now. You stared him down.
“Boxers off.”
Again, he wasted no time. The boxers were thrown off the side of the bed so fast that you’d hardly witnessed the reveal of the other half of the goods. And boy, was it good.
His cock was weeping, the head an angry red, almost like his eyes. So, deceptively angry. Everything else on his body was so fair, from his lightly tan skin to his blond hair, that his dark cock stuck out like the middle of a bullseye. You couldn’t stop staring.
“So that’s how you shut up,” he said, smirk returning.
“You shut up,” you breathed, pulling him back down to you and catching his lips, so you were both silent once again.
He rutted against you for just a moment before he pulled away, holding himself in a plank over you that drew your attention back to his arms, his shoulders, his core. Every pant set his abs rippling, like low tide falling to reveal smooth, polished rocks underneath.
“Condom?” he asked.
“Mhmm,” you said, nearly lunging for your bedside table. You reached for the drawer and snatched a packet, tearing it open in one go and rolling it down to the base of Katsuki’s cock. You gave a few pumps for good measure and then lay back on your purple pillow, ready for this to go where it was going to go.
Katsuki wasn’t content to let you choose anything, though. He hooked both his arms around the back of your thighs and dragged your ass up his kneeled legs. Your back was arched in a dancer’s port de bras and his sealed cock was poking at your center.
“Woah,” you giggled as he manhandled you, hoping the bouncing on the mattress was a preview of what was to come.
“Is this okay?” Katsuki asked, taking his first good pause since you’d started to look at you, eyes wide.
Your grin softened into a warm smile and you rubbed your hand on his thigh whilst scooting yourself a little closer to his cock. “You better fucking fuck me.”
The breath of air that came out of his mouth was almost that of a laugh. Probably something about the dissonance between the sweetness of your tone and on your face, versus the way you were grinding on his cock and your fearless mouth. But, for one brief snapshot, you were just smiling at each other, almost innocently happy. Then, Bakugou’s grip on you tightened, and his smile became a smirk.
“Okay, then.”
For a moment, it seemed like he was going to go slow. He pressed just the tip in and you quivered at the beginning of the stretch, the anticipation warming your belly. Then, all at once, anticipation was thrown to the wind as he tugged your thighs up his, crashing your hips together.
A surprised gasp left your mouth as Katsuki sat up off his heels, bringing your hips with him as he started pounding into you, rocking his hips forward and hands yanking your hips to meet him. Every impact sent your ass smacking into his thighs and you were left gloriously out of control.
He was out of reach. You could only brush your fingers against his thighs at the moments where you were seated on his hips, but he was going too fast, constantly pulling out of your grasp. So, you figured that, if you couldn’t touch him, you could damn well touch yourself.
You started with your nipples, pulling and tweaking them, both, feeling how the left one was tenderer from Katsuki’s love bite than the right. Your mouth fell open, and you heard Katsuki murmur, “Fuck,” before driving into you just a bit faster.
“Uhn,” you moaned when he adjusted his hold on you, angling just a little harder into your g-spot. It was bringing you to the cusp, but you’d never be able to reach your peak with that alone. So you slithered a hand down your stomach and past your curls down to where your clit was standing at attention, still holding the touch memory of Katsuki’s tongue laving against it. You rubbed three fingers over the nub and felt yourself clench down hard, yanking another hiss from Katsuki. You mewled and found yourself approaching the edge, just about ready to tip over when your hips fell to the mattress, Katsuki’s dick slipping out.
In a moment, he was on top of you, pressing into you from every angle except where you need it most. More importantly, your wrists were now in his hands, above your head and pressed into your headboard.
“Did you think it would be that easy, princess?”
You moaned, just his words enough to have you clenching again, craving his cock back inside you already. You felt your orgasm receding, but the heat of his tight grip on your wrists, his breath just a puckered kiss away from yours, had you certain that the waves would start crashing back quickly.
Once again, when his cock was pressed just against your core, he thrust in to the hilt. But you still couldn’t touch him—or yourself now. His thighs were against yours, your chests breathing into each others, but he’d brought both of your wrists into one hand’s grip and it didn’t seem like he had any mind to let you go.
But that didn’t mean you were powerless.
You wrapped your thighs around his hips and pressed him into you, forcing his long thrusts to stay deep, feeling like they were hitting your spine with every go. Katsuki growled into your ear and put more weight into his hips, forcing you into the mattress with every thrust. Your sensitive hearing had you clocking every slight hitch in his breath, every hard exhale as he poured all his effort into you. You could hear how wound up he was getting, even though it barely showed past the determination on his face.
He began pressing half-formed kisses against your jaw, making you arch up to meet his mouth. There was a thick line of sensation from your cunt to your neck, but it wasn’t enough. “Please, Katsuki,” you whimpered, feeling your hands begin to go cold from the tight grip above your head.
“What?” he asked, and you could feel the smile against your neck.
“Touch me…let me touch you…anything,”
“What, is my cock not enough for you?” He fought back against the hold your legs had on his hips and sent three hard thrusts into your cunt, drawing a gasp out of you.
“I just…want you,” you breathed.
A couple more silent thrusts had you thinking that he was going to ignore you, torture you with this edging forever. Then, your hands were free again and you immediately threaded your fingers through his hair and pulled him in for a real kiss. His thrusts became more uneven, but he reached a hand down to your clit and started rubbing. There was less finesse than when you’d been doing it yourself, but that didn’t stop a moan from rippling out of your throat and into the kiss. You tugged his hair harder and smashed his face into yours for all it was worth.
It took mere seconds for your orgasm to start approaching again, like it had never left in the first place. “I’m close,” you murmured into his mouth, feeling your thighs start to shake as your easy control began to fall to pieces.
“Me too,” Katsuki said, upping the tempo of his fingers and his thrusts as you both chased the edge.
You focused your mind on his fingertips rapidly swiping over your sensitive clit, so desperate for your peak that everything else seemed to fade away. You were vaguely aware of your own whining, halves of words tumbling out as you urged Katsuki on, but all you could see was that light at the end of the tunnel, that beacon shining for you.
Katsuki’s name tore past your lips when you finally came, his hand never stopping on your clit as he took a few more thrusts before groaning himself, spilling into the condom.
His lips met yours in a lazy kiss as he managed a few more slow thrusts, his hand pulling away from your oversensitive nub. Then he stilled, waiting one moment more before pulling out and yanking off the condom. You gestured to a trash can off to the side and he tossed it in, unceremoniously and with perfect aim.
Then he fell to the side, flopping beside you on your bed as you both breathed heavily, still coming down from your highs. A smile was forming widely on your face and you giggled, once, and then a few times until you were sure you seemed crazy. You just felt so good that you couldn’t help but feel elated, giddy.
“Not bad, Katsuki,” you said when you finally settled, turning your head to meet eyes that were already staring at you.
Katsuki broke the eye contact with a shake of his head, a scoff scraping the back of his throat. “Fuck off.”
“Alright then.” You turned your face away from him first, knowing you wouldn’t be able to hide your smile as you played at leaving. You couldn’t hold the act for long, though, and turned around to see him looking concerned. You almost laughed again—where did he think you would go? “Just going to the bathroom. Don’t want to sully this with a UTI.”
You reached back and put a hand to his jaw in the slightest test to see if anything else would sully this. Would he pull away from the intimacy now that he’d gotten his gratification? But no, when you leaned down to kiss him, he rose to meet you, and your lips lingered for just a moment longer than necessary. In that moment of closeness, when everything else was silent, you could hear the beating of his heart. It had been pounding in your perceptive ears the whole night, fast and strong. But that had been when the action was rising, when he’d been sweating from exertion. Now, as things were settling, his heart rate should have been too. But, with your lips against his, it wasn’t.
You took the few short steps from your bedroom to the bathroom, feeling the heat that had been dancing in your body leave through the soles of your feet on the bathroom tile. The alcohol was no longer pushing the hot blood to your skin as it began to leave your system. After using the restroom and cleaning yourself up, you took a big glug of water to stave off a next-day hangover.
When you came back to your room, you wanted to be back at Katsuki’s warm side immediately, preferably under the blankets. So you began to pull back your sheets when you remembered to ask, “Want me to get you a glass of water?”
“Nah,” Katsuki said with a shake of his head.
“Mm, okay.”
You didn’t press him. He was an adult and surely he knew what his body needed. He’d seemed squarely lucid anyhow, so maybe alcohol just didn’t hit him very hard.
You sighed once your body was tucked beneath your bedding, feeling the warmth creep back into your toes and up your legs as Katsuki settled in beside you. You felt the urge to have him close again, that you couldn’t possibly get close enough to him. But he wasn’t making any moves toward you, so you asked, “Do you like cuddling?”
“No,” Katsuki answered, and you were disappointed. But only for a moment, because then he was pressed against you, arms holding you close in what was most definitely a cuddle.
“You don’t have to do it just for me!” you said with a laugh.
His defiant streak was back as he pulled you closer. You wondered if somewhere between the lines you’d inadvertently challenged him again. “Nobody makes me do anything.”
“I’ll bet not,” you whispered, sleep grasping at the pitch of your voice. You could hear his heart pounding again, and smiled to yourself. “See you tomorrow, Katsuki.”
One of his arms left you for a moment as it reached back and then over you, placing something on the bedside table. But it was back in place as soon as it left and, if possible, he snuggled even closer to you. You smiled, surprised that you’d found the hidden affectionate side of this man. Or maybe not surprised so much as…pleased. Happy. You couldn’t wait to wake up tomorrow and see what it brought. It seemed anything was possible, after what today had given you.
Katsuki’s breathing began to even out almost immediately, and it seemed he’d already fallen asleep. But just as you relaxed to do so yourself, you felt his mouth move against your lightly bruised neck, and say, “See you tomorrow, Y/N.”

It is their sanctuary. A place that has everything they could wish for...
if only, fate isn't fickle...
"If I jump, will you save me again?"
"What a wretched soul I have..."
It’s been an hour since they were staring far in the horizon. Dusk is on its way, with the lake gulping the sun whole to bring forth darkness in the grassy land they’re on. That place is secluded, surrounded with trees serving as its walls. As if it were cradling them away from everything.
It's not their first-time watching day turn to night on where they are. They’ve known that spot enough to vividly paint the place on a whim.
It was neither a simple place as it seems. That place is a part of the human realm, untouched by anyone but two persons— them and Diavolo. A place which witnessed how the said Prince dropped on his knees and confessed he likes them. The place they admit they felt the same.
The place where they held hands in their secret rendezvous; times where the Future king would go to whenever he ran away from his endless responsibilities for a day and spend it with them, with words of affections and adorations for each other. It is their safe haven.
The Forget-me-not flowers they planted are blooming around them. As the two sat beneath the shade of the tree, appreciating the presence of the flowers and each other.
Diavolo has a habit of caressing their cheeks, brushing strands of their locks past their ears, as he embraces them as if they were the most precious treasure, he has ever held. Those smiles he would beam; brighter than the sol they always see. "You're the most beautiful being I have ever seen." And they would smile back, with their feelings overflowing so much they would always pour it back to him with a kiss.
But being always in that place doesn't mean they never left it. There are times they would give him a heart attack by literally jumping off the edge of the cliff. The demon prince then would follow them in a snap, before transforming right before their eyes and seizing them.
They knew it was a foolish thing to do. No sane person would ever carry out such dumb, dangerous stunt. They do have a magic or two under their sleeves should Diavolo fail the task. Spells they would feverishly study and tirelessly practice for the sake of the success of the Exchange Student program; for the sake of making Diavolo proud of them. So, they studied hard, yet fools only around their beloved.
So, they kept on flying off to the danger at every given chance. For the feeling during the times they would fall, they had the best view they could ever see in their lifetime. How the demon they ever loved could be so... breathtaking. Turning into his demon form—metamorphosing like a dazzling butterfly, his red locks fluttering in the wind, with such golden ornaments, such golden eyes reflecting the radiance of the sun. And most of all, such playful, thrilled smiles they would willingly lay their life just to see. He seems like the mesmerizing golden red dusk. He may be a demon, but Diavolo is much more divine than the angels in their eyes.
And to think that such an ambrosial prince would hold them in his firm arms, and bury them in his well-toned chest before gliding up in the air. They really love the feeling. Akin to the flowers they cultivate symbolizes, he is their true love.
"Should we land back on the top of the land?"
"Just a little bit longer." Humming, they would place a peck onto the tip of his horn or temple whenever they would request something so badly, which then would receive a chuckle from the Demon. "Hahaha, what a pampered human... Alright, just a little bit longer." And who knows how long they stay in the air. Then they would share small talks back on the cliff, and soon be bombarded with tons of messages and missed calls from the butler and the right-hand man. They would head back home after that, before the said aides decide to search for them and find their secret haven.
It was all they could ever wish for. An everlasting love to carry inside their mortal heart.
They have everything they could ask for, until that day comes. A moonless, rainy night during the celebration of Diavolo's birth.
"I'm glad to finally meet you, the Future King of Devildom." …the day she came. Rosa, a rather respected princess, and the daughter of Queen Rose.
"...N-No, the pleasure is mine." Whether he was flustered by her sudden appearance or not, something was rather amiss. His gaze towards her was different than anything they've ever seen him make. So different yet... familiar. Like the way his eyes sparked of reverie the day they first met, except it was more profound.
Diavolo sighed, "I'm telling you, you don't have to worry. You know you're the one I love." It was nothing, he said. It was only in their imagination, he said. Even so, the connection between the two they perceived every time the two met on business, felt so real.
They were so anxious, so angry they wanted to explode. They want to blame it all on that demon princess who appeared out of nowhere, and brought everything to a big mess! They wanted to lash at her, right from the deepest pit of their stomach!
...Yet, they didn't.
They simply can't. Not when she was like an angel who descended in the land of darkness.
So pure yet so wise, so diligent and well-versed. She is strong-willed and rather capable in every aspect. She doesn't deserve to be blamed for something she didn't mean to do. It was merely a work of two hearts naturally falling for each other. It was inevitable.
Instead of brooding without doing anything, they will fight. They will fight for what's theirs. For what's right. For the specks of affection left inside Diavolo. For their love, they won't give up.
Or so they thought...
"Y/N, would you mind having tea with me later?" Barbatos asked for their attendance.
But unlike the usual afternoon tea they always share with the butler, "Where's Diavolo?" ... the prince is not around.
"The Young master has prior engagement and brought Lucifer in my stead. My apologies if it was not to your liking."
"Ahh, no. I didn't mean it like that. It's just that... having snacks with only you are unusual." It's not unusual. Rather, it never occurred even once. Diavolo tends to postpone the teatime for another time whenever he can't go, as Barbatos always join his absence.
"Actually, I asked you today about an important matter to discuss."
"...Is it related to Diavolo and me, isn't it?" They shouldn't have asked him. They hated themself for asking Diavolo's attendant.
"Yes. To be precise, it is about your relationship and the lady you met during Young master's birthday. I believe you have the right to know this." They held their breath. "I hate to break it to you but the lady you met back then, is the Young Master's... fiancée and his soulmate." The words that came off Barbatos' lips felt like cold water dumped on them.
They just want to end the conversation right there and leave the garden as fast as they can, but they forcefully pull themself together and learn the whole truth, as painful as it is for them. "...Fiancee, you said? And what do you mean by soulmate?"
"For every heir of the throne, there is a prophecy foretelling the righteous betrothed one fated for them. This Oracle has never once failed in predicting who..." Barbatos paused, evaluating whether they could take any more. "...would help the Ruler in bringing prosperity in the Devildom."
After a minute of silence, they spoke. "Does Diavolo know all about this? About her?"
"Yes... but I swear in my name, he has always wanted to be free of the prophecy and achieve prosperity through his own power."
"Where is he headed to at the moment?"
"..." Barbatos' silence tells them everything. He is with her. That's all that they needed to know.
"I... see... Thank you for telling me this."
"I— no, I don't deserve such words from you." They shook their head, "You still disclosed this even when Diavolo wanted to keep it a secret from me. I'm sorry I brought trouble to you."
"It was my own choice. I'm just doing what I think is right."
"Thank you, really..."
They left the castle, thinking a lot of things but also finally enlightened.
They never had Diavolo's heart from the start.
He is the future of the Devildom, the future of all the demons who could easily outlive them. And for that he needs an Empress who can fully support him and bear another long-lived heir. His soulmate, his forever, his other half. Everything that they could never be.
Their life is short. His' is not. He could never fathom the extent of his life like they could. That is also the reason why they could love him until the day they cease to exist, a mere blink to him.
As obvious as the glaring sun that blinds them atop that cliff, his love... is gone.
They could see it in his eyes. Every day he spends with them, his mind is somewhere else.
Even in their favorite place, his embraces were still as cold as the mountain's peak. His smile is too forced, like a one man playing before their eyes. His kisses were prickling and painful. And his gaze... He is suffering.
Like they were.
"Forgive me." It was for the Devildom, he said. His head hangs low, wearing that distressed expression.
"Hey, lift your head? The future king shouldn't bow to anyone." They smiled, cupping his cheeks to raise his face.
"Look, I understand." It was a surprise they didn't shed a drop of tear, as they pat his head gently. "Follow your heart. You'll become a great king."
He made a wise decision, to choose his bond that suddenly came that day. Someone who really owns Diavolo's heart per destiny's decree. The heart they thought he offered back then, with the trees, and the cool breeze, and the swaying leaves, and the sunset as their witnesses. The heart they thought were already theirs. The heart that slipped from their fingers as he let go of their hand when Diavolo locked eyes with his fated one.
Diavolo's love is fleeting. Or maybe it was never love from the start, but a mere curiosity on his end. A misconception, but it doesn't matter anymore. They already knew the answer.
He already achieved his true love, holding his Empress in white. He wears that smile, much, much brighter than anything they have ever seen.
The bells sing with the crowd in jubilation. It is a merry occasion, with the official new rulers of the Devildom. All were so elated.
Except for one. "What a wretched soul I have..." they uttered under their breath. They couldn't take the sight. With the man they so love to be happy in someone's arms. Rage was boiling inside them. Staying there for a second longer and they would definitely ravage everything. So, they fled the scene, escaping to their secret place surrounded by the lake and the sea of trees.
They wanted to let it all out. Pain, sorrow, rage, envy. They were overflowing with emotion more than they could take. It should be them, placing a ring on his finger! the one smiling and crying of happiness as he makes a vow! The one who should be kissing him in front of thousands of witnesses!
"WHY?! What did I do to deserve this?!" The swaying blue and white Forget-me-nots they took with utmost care came to view. "What useless plants!!" They cried out, yanking and tearing everything off the soil. "True love?! It was only me from the very start!!"
All they could do was cry. Scream until their throat goes dry, until their voice disappears.
When all energy left their body, they slumped in the grassy land they’re on. In that secluded place, surrounded with trees serving as its walls. As if it were cradling them away from everything. Hiding their wretched self from everyone.
Dazed, they stared at the sky for an hour. As its hue turns from light blue to red, their mind gets clearer. That's when they heard a familiar sound. They followed it on the tip of the cliff.
It was the roaring waves beneath the land mass. It seems like it's continuing the cries they couldn't do anymore. Roaring like it was spilling the emotions inside them.
"If I jump, will you save me again?" They spoke to the man who is no longer in that secret place. It will never be a safe haven for them anymore.
"I want to be saved by you one more time." I want to be embraced by you one last time.
They faced their back to the rim of the cliff, and took a step backward. A foot standing on a void. And so, their body tipped, losing the other foot from the ground. As their balance disappears, they see nothing but the golden rays of the sunset and the redness of the dusk. So red like Diavolo's locks, golden like his eyes. There's nothing but only traces of him; of the man who doesn't really love them as he promised.
This is foolish... They thought. They're all alone. No Diavolo will fly down and save them anymore.
"I should go home..." Dying here would only hurt him... They whispered as the firm breeze swirls beneath, ready to catch them. After all, no one will save me but I... thinking of that, another pang spiked their heart.
But the wind spell they casted couldn't catch them. When they should have been falling, a hand appeared and pulled them in an embrace.
"Please don't do this..." it was not the warmth they were expecting. Yet, streams began flowing down their cheeks, in comfort of another’s arms. With their hoarse voice they sob the sorrow of losing their safe haven.

______________________________________________________
You walked into your grandmother’s room to find her pacing around frantically. You instantly recognized the expression on her face. She was pissed. Absolutely livid. Her face was all scrunched up, her eyebrows bunched together, and she was biting her lip raw. She didn’t even notice you in the doorway, clearly too busy being consumed in her thoughts. “Who put you in this great of a mood, Gram?” you joked, half expecting her to go off on a tangent about your mother. The two of them had been at each others throats lately, especially ever since you accidentally revealed to your mom that your grandma had been training you.
Her train of thought broke and she jumped at the sound of your voice, clearly not expecting any visitors. She turned to look at you, her eyes warming up a little bit at the sight of you but you could still feel the upset radiating off her body. You both were similar in that way: you both felt deeply. “Damn Mandalorians.”
It was now your turn to scrunch up your eyebrows, giving her a quizzical expression at her answer. You had heard of Mandalorians and knew they were armored bounty hunters. But your knowledge didn’t really surpass that.  “Mandalorians?”
She scoffed, as if the question was so stupid, and shook her head. “Yes. I ran into one on my way home from town and,” she bit her lip, trying to find something to say besides just a string of curse words “They are ignorant and awful people.”
The statement shocked you. Gram was a strong, hard-headed woman who wasn’t ever afraid to tell the truth. But she wasn’t biased. She was accepting of all people, creatures, animals, and even droids. It was just part of her, to accept people as they were and not judge them based off what they looked like or their beliefs. “Woah. What is so wrong with Mandalorians?”
You knew it wasn’t because of their job. You lived on Jakku your whole life and had seen everything, from scavengers to bounty hunters to even worse. It was part of everyday life here and never appeared to bother her. “They hate us. Because of who we are.”
“What?”
“Mandalorians and Jedis do not get along. They are enemies.”
She finally sat down on her bed, strumming her fingers against her thighs. She was still frustrated but seeming to calm down. You sat next to her, looking over at her. “Why?”
“There was a Mandalorian-Jedi War that happened on their planet, the planet of Mandalore.”‘
“Mandalorians have their own planet?”
“Not anymore. In the war, the Jedi’s won but they destroyed Mandalore. It’s practically inhospitable.”
Your face softened. That sounded horrible. You couldn’t imagine your home planet just being destroyed into absolute nothingness. Your Gram noticed your expression and shook her head. “You are too kind. You can’t empathize with the Mandalorians.”
“Their whole entire planet got destroyed. That seems... extreme.”
The woman stood up, now facing you with a fierceness in her eyes and her finger pointed at you. “The only reason that war happened is because the Mandalorians hated us. They didn’t understand our powers and instead of leaving us alone, they created weapons and armor to destroy us.”
“Okay. But that was in the past.”
“It doesn’t matter. That hatred is still there.” She bent down so she could be eye level. “Listen to me closely. If you ever meet an Mandalorian, do not trust them or befriend them. Because as soon as they learn what you are, they will hate you and probably want to kill you. Mandalorians are brutish people with no compassion. They might as well be damn droids. Do you understand?”
You had never heard your grandmother speak about anyone like this and it shocked you to the core. You questioned whether or not this was just some old beef she was still holding onto, or whether this was reality. Either way, you nodded your head slowly, not wanting to upset her further. “Okay. I won’t.”

“Din, this is taking forever.”
“Sweet one, you are being very impatient.”
“I just don’t like my vision being restricted.”
“I am leading you to something you will like.”
“Can’t I just close my eyes on my own and you can take your big man hands away from my eyes?”
“No. Because you will look.”
You huff at his response, crossing your arms as Din continued leading you towards this secret destination. It was true - you probably would try to sneak a peak - but you just wanted his hand off your face because it was making you uneasy. One hand was still gloved but the other wasn’t and that was the one covering your eyes. His whole hand was so large, covering a ridiculously large portion of your face, and they were warm. You could feel yourself flush from the skin to skin contact.  “Well, are we close at least?”
“Yes.”
Din had told you that you guys were landing on a random planet and he had a surprise for you. He had locked you in the ship, telling you not look out the windows of the cockpit, and gone outside for what felt like forever. Then once he finally came back, he insisted you couldn’t look until you were at the surprise. But that had felt like forever ago and you two had just been walking on and on. You tried to pay attention to your surroundings as much as you could, gathering clues as to where you were and what you were doing. You knew their was grass because it was brushing against your ankles with each step you took towards your destination. It was also moist, meaning you were probably on a planet where it rained. Every once and a while, you would heard a loud squawk ring out, meaning there were animals of some type around. But otherwise, all you heard was the rustling of the breeze against the grass and what you believed to be trees. You didn’t hear any other voices or sounds for miles, meaning you were most likely completely alone. You could feel the sun on your skin, spreading warmth throughout your body. It sounded weird but you could smell the nature. You could smell the grass and the wind and something sweet - maybe a fruit or flower of some sort.
You continued walking until your foot tumbled into something hard, causing you to spring forward and Din held you up so you didn’t fall. “See? This is a safety hazard. I could of died just now.”
Din let out a scoff and he was so close that it felt like you could feel the modulator reverberate through you. “I’m holding on to you. You weren’t going to die.”
“That’s what you think. But just wait. A rock is going to take me out and then you will be sorry.”
Din finally stopped, your body once again lurching against him in the sudden  change. His hand still covered your eyes, fingers pressed tightly together so you couldn’t peak through. “Are you going to keep blabbering or do you want to see what it is?”
You smiled big, finally satisfied that you had stopped walking. “We are finally done walking?”
“You whine a lot for a person being surprised.”
You let out a laugh at the insult. “And you are very bossy for a man being the surpriser.”
Another exasperated sigh. “Maybe we should head back to the Crest.”
“Oh, shut up and take your hands off me.” Din’s hand finally dropped from your face and it took you a second to adjust to the surroundings. It was bright, the sun shining above you two. You blinked a few times, finally adjusting to the change when you let out a small gasp.
You were stood in the middle of a field full of hundreds of flowers. They were of all kinds, some short and some tall. Some were large and some were small. They came in every color you could ever imagine and you swore you had never seen something so beautiful. You had never lived in a place that wasn’t mostly barren and almost monochromatic. You knew there were planets with flowers and colors and vibrancy, but you never could of imagined that it could be this gorgeous. You took a deep breath in, smelling the divine sweetness of all the plants surrounding you. A small laugh escaped your lips at the wonder of it. This seemed like a place totally unscathed by the word. It hadn’t been touched by the evil and corruptness of this galaxy and there was an inherent pureness to it.
You heard a shuffle through the flowers and looked down to find the kid, grabbing at flowers with a big smile. You knew what was coming before it even happened as he grabbed a handful of petals and shoved it into his mouth. You giggled as Din bent over, scolding him about not eating everything he saw.
You turned back to look at everything when your eyes landed on a blanket in the middle of the field, laid out perfectly. It was one of the blankets you had bought at the marketplace, it’s beautiful array of colors nearly blending in with the flowers. Neatly arranged on the blanket was a variety of food and a container of drink. You felt the biggest smile crawl onto your face as you realized what it was. “Din Djarin, did you set up a picnic?”
You turned around, seeing him standing there in the field with the kid held in his arms. The sight of it took your breath away. The sun reflected off Din’s armor, making him stand out and shine. The contrast between the silver of the metal and the flowers around him was stunning. The kid was held in his arm, trying to get away with a big toothy grin on his face, a petal in the corner of his mouth as his ears flopped gently in the breeze. You were taken aback by how beautiful your family was and how much joy a single moment like this could make you feel. You felt in that moment like this is where you belonged. Wherever Din was was where you knew you were meant to be.
“Yeah. I guess I did.” Din said, shrugging his shoulders as if this wasn’t the one of the nicest things anybody had ever done with you. You found yourself wanting to run towards him and hug him, feel him hold you in his arms, with your kid between you guys letting out little giggles. “I thought this would be okay. A nice stop.”
“Okay?” You shook your head at Din. “Din, this is... breathtaking. I have never seen anything like this.”
Din stepped towards you, his helmet leaning down as you made eye contact with his visor. “I’m glad. You deserve something like this.”
You shyly smiled at his words, cursing yourself for feeling your face heat up. “So do you, Din.”
_________________________________
You had now spent hours out here, sitting in this field with Din while just talking and playing with the kid, who had somehow successfully caught (and eaten) three butterflies. The sun was setting and the temperature was dropping slightly, although it was a pleasant, welcoming coolness after a day in the sun. You had eaten food and it was all delicious. Succulent, juicy fruits and bread that had been warmed by the sun. Now the child was asleep and back in his hover pram, the cover on completely in order to block any light from bothering him.
You turned to look over at Din, who had sat with you the whole time, and suddenly felt incredibly rude. “Din, you didn’t eat anything.”
Din shrugged his shoulders. You knew he probably hadn’t even noticed. When you first joined him, you noticed that he could go hours without eating. It was very inconvenient for him to eat, especially when there were people around. And you understood that but you swore the man could go literal days without consuming anything and he wouldn’t even think twice about it. You eventually started forcing him to eat, leaving him alone in the hull of the ship while you and the kid sat in the cockpit, that way he could eat alone and properly enjoy a meal. “I’m fine.”
You shook your head and started pushing the food in front of him. “No, come on. You need to eat.” You looked all around, surveying the area for any people. You hadn’t seen a single soul today and Din told you there were no inhabitants on the planet, which you found shocking. “How about I take the kid back to the Crest and you can eat out here? Enjoy the fresh air.”
You started rising from your place on the ground when Din grabbed at your arm, pulling you down. “No. Don’t go.”
You smiled at the tone of his voice. “It’s fine.”
“Wait,” You paused again, looking back at Din to see his helmet looking right at you. “I trust you.”
You scrunched up your eyebrows, not exactly sure how that pertained to the discussion but you still felt warmth pool in your chest. “I’m very glad you trust me but I don’t know what that has to do with you eating.”
“I have an idea.”
You quirked an eyebrow, tilting your head at him. “What?”
“Just sit right there, okay?”
You nodded slowly, dropping yourself back down next to him. You watched as Din’s hand left your wrist and he brought them up to his neck, pulling at the bunch of fabric wrapped around it. “Din, what are you doing?”
The fabric pooled away from his neck and you tried your best to tear your eyes away from the skin but found it hard to. His skin was tan, surprising to you since he always wore the armor, but it looked warm and inviting. “Just let me do something.”
Din scooted closer to you, taking the scarf in his hands and folding it over before bringing it up to your face. You leaned back a little until he pulled the fabric over your eyes and you realized what he was doing. You felt him tug at the back of your head, securely tying the fabric in place. “Can you see anything?”
You turned your head in the direction the voice was coming from. It was pitch black and you wouldn’t be able to see a thing unless you tore the fabric away. “No. Completely dark.”
“You okay like that?”
You smiled softly at his question. You appreciated how he always checked in on you, to make sure you were okay. Even if it inconvenienced his comfortability. “Yes. I’m very comfortable with blindfolds.” You meant it as a joke but felt yourself cringe at the words that spilled from your mouth. “That sounded way worse than I meant it.”
You heard Din snort, a sound that wiped away any embarrassment you felt. “Okay. I’m going to take it off. Just don’t take the scarf away from your eyes.”
“I won’t.”
A click rung out, followed by a long hiss, and it suddenly hit you. Din was taking his helmet off. You knew he did that before. He surely didn’t shower or sleep with it on. But when he was doing those things, you weren’t sat right next to him. You didn’t have the power to look, not that you ever would put him in that situation. You found yourself wondering if he had ever done this before with anyone else.
You heard some shuffling and a plop on the blanket, probably him placing his helmet right next to him. You listened closely for the next sound to signal what was happening when you heard him take what sounded like a bite, that was followed by a hum. You smiled, glad that Din was able to enjoy the meal and not just scarf it down as fast as possible like he always did. “This fruit is good.”
Maker. You felt like your whole entire body just melted. It hadn’t even crossed your mind that since Din’s helmet was off, you would hear his voice. Like his actual voice. Nothing modulated or tainted by a helmet. Just him. And it was the best sound you had ever heard. His voice was still kind of raspy like it was in the helmet, but softer and so much warmer. It reminded you of the sun and the happiness it brought you. And it was a weird thing to think, but you thought that his voice sounded like how brown eyes look. At least how you think his eyes looked. You suddenly cursed his damn helmet for blocking out his sweet voice and couldn’t believe this was your first time hearing it, unfiltered and just so uniquely Din.
“Y-yeah.” You mumbled out, still being so affected by hearing his voice.
“Are you okay?” You smiled brightly at his question. You swear you could listen to him talk all day. The man could never shut up and you would be perfectly content. You found yourself plotting ways to get him to take off the helmet so you could hear it more often, not caring that you had to wear a blindfold in order to hear it.
“Yeah. Why?”
“You are just... smiling.”
You probably looked like a raging lunatic, a blindfold over your eyes and the biggest smile on your face as Din just sat there and ate. “I’ve never heard your voice before. At least not without the helmet.”
“Oh.”
“You’ve got a great voice.”
“I have a great voice?” Genuine confusion could be heard and you let out a little chuckle at it.
“Yes. It’s nice. Comforting.” You spared him anymore details, probably already making a fool of yourself and not wanting to embarrass him further by droning on about his voice, because you knew you could do it.
“I’ve never had anyone tell me that. Though I can’t really think of anyone whose heard my voice before.”
“Well, I feel honored.” You laid back against the blanket, not being able to see it, but facing the sky. You brought your hands to behind your head, leaning back on them. “Talk more.”
A small noise, perhaps a clearing of the throat, could be heard in response to that. “About what?”
You paused a moment, thinking before coming to an answer. “Teach me some Mando’a.” You loved hearing Din speak Mando’a. It was a part of his life he was able to share with others and you imagined hearing him speak it without the helmet on was even better.
“Okay. Let me think.” Din paused and you heard him take another bite. You imagined him, fully clad in his armor with his head poking out. You had a hard time imagining his face but you still had a few ideas. He probably had brown hair that matched eyes. He didn’t seem like a guy with light hair or really, really dark hair. He probably had a nice, strong chin that matched his personality. “Mesh’la.”
You repeated the word, nodding when he hummed to indicate you pronounced it properly. “What does that mean?”
“Beautiful.”
You smiled. That seemed like a perfect word to describe this moment. “Good word for this place.”
“Yeah.”
“What else?”
“Aliit. That means family.”
You smiled again. “Aliit. I like that word. Keep going.”
“Cabur.”
“And that means?”
“Protector.”
“Very fitting for you.”
“You think so?” His voice was softer this time and you could sense a feeling of either pride or perhaps gratefulness. It made your heart soften. You knew how seriously he took protecting you guys, and cabur seemed like the perfect title for him.
You nodded quickly. “Of course, Din. Tell me more.”
“So needy.” You heard him laugh and Maker, it was even better than his voice. Even warmer and brighter.
“Shut up and keep talking.” You teased, one of the corners of your lips quirking upwards.
“Mir’sheb.”
“Ooh, let me guess. Something sweet and nice.”
“Smart ass.”
You let out a loud laugh at that one, sitting upright again, getting closer to Din and hearing his laugh echo out once again into the field. His laugh was all-consuming and like that first breath of fresh air after going so long without it. “What does shit head mean? That way I can have a new, special nick name for you.”
Din let out another laugh at the joke. “I don’t know about shit head but shit is osik.”
“I like that word.”
“Of course you do.”
You both chuckle and you hear him eat some more food. “One more word.”
You heard him hum, pausing for a few moments. “Murcyur.”
“What does that one mean?”
“Kiss.”
You froze completely. Why the hell would Din say something like that? Because now all you can think about is kissing Din and the mere thought of it is giving you heart palpitations and you feel like you might just explode. His lips are just out, exposed. Probably very kissable. They are probably like his hands - rough but also soft. The kind of lips that are masculine but gentle, not over aggressive.
Shit. This is not okay. You can’t be thinking about kissing Din. Because this is just a rabbit hole and one second you are thinking about kissing Din and the next you are wanting to marry the man. And you don’t live the kind of life where you can just think things like this.
Then you realized you couldn’t see Din and what if he was going to do something. Something like kiss you. You’re pretty sure that if he did that, you’d fucking pass out and you can’t have that happen. You let out an awkward chuckle, not even sure why you were laughing but not able to stop it. “Good to know, buster.”
Where the fuck did buster come from? You are pretty sure you have never, ever said that word your whole entire life. And you are certain that is the dumbest thing you’ve ever said. Out of all the dumb shit to leave your mouth, that took the cake. Change the topic, dumb ass. “Can I ask you a question?”
You didn’t even have a fucking question planned. What were you doing? You heard Din say, “Yeah.” and your mind blanked.
Any question. A single question. “What happens if someone sees your face?”
Great, now he probably just thinks that is all you care about. “What do you mean?”
“Like, what if you are in the refresher and I accidentally walk in on you? Do you have to kill me?”
“Do you often think about walking in on me when I’m in the refresher?” Din said the words plainly, like he was asking an innocent question, but you swore you could hear the grin on his face.
You scoffed theatrically, hoping you weren’t showing just how flustered you were. “No. I was just inquiring.”
Din hummed, still teasing you, and you suddenly wanted him to shut up very badly. He was getting too cocky. “Well, one of two things happen if someone sees me. First option is I kill them.”
“Well then I will definitely never walk in on you in the shower.” You paused. “N-not that I wanted to.”
“Well, I wouldn’t kill you anyways. I never could.”
“What then? Drop me off on a planet?”
Din scoffed like you had suggested the most ridiculous thing in the world. “I would never abandon you. Ever.”
“Well then, what is this second option?” Din is suddenly silent and if you didn’t know better, you’d say he simply disappeared. “Hello?”
“Well, you either kill them or... ummm-” You hear him fumble with his words and normally you’d find it adorable (especially without the helmet) but now it is just making you nervous.
“Or..?”
“Marry them.”
Now that caused you to take a sharp intake of air in and then start choking like a damn idiot. You swore that the galaxy had it out for you in that moment because this was all way too much for you to handle. Din and you in a field of the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen, talking about kissing and marrying and hearing his voice... It was like you were overdosing.
Then you were hit with the realization of what Din truly said. If Din wouldn’t kill you or ditch you if you ever accidentally saw him... shit. “Huh... neat.” You muttered, finally trying to collect yourself.
“You okay?”
“Oh, yeah.” Make a joke or something. “You just better hope I never accidentally see that face of yours because you don’t want to be stuck with me as your riddur.”
“How do you know that word?”
“What word?”
“Riddur.”
Oh shit. You hadn’t even thought of the fact that the woman at the stand had taught you that word and not Din. “You must have said it before.”
“I’ve never said that word before.”
“Oh, yes. It must of been from my secret Mando’a tutor then.” You smirked, hoping Din shrugged it off and luckily he didn’t say anything else.
“Let me put my helmet back on.”
“You don’t have to. I’m fine.”
“No. It’s getting dark and I’ve had it off long enough.” You heard some movement and then a click that you registered as Din’s helmet being put back on. You then heard him shuffle towards you, his fingers untying the knot and the scarf dropping from your eyes. You blinked a few times and realized it was getting pretty dark, the sun just barely skirting the horizon. You turned, seeing Din besides you, putting the scarf back around his neck.
You gave him a small smile. “This was nice.”
“Yeah. It was.” He gave you a small nod before starting to stand. “We should start heading back to the Crest.”
“Yeah.”

Your nightmares happen way less often but now when they occur, it’s worse than before.
It is always the same thing. Your home, the very place you had been born in all those years ago, was up in flames, illuminating the night sky in a way that caused your stomach to twist up. The wounds on your back and arms were fresh, stinging so much with every movement that it felt like you would bunch over and hurl from it. You keep stumbling and that’s when you find them. Your parents, laid on the ground like rag-dolls. Like they were meaningless. And every time you see them, you let out a wail so loud it seems to consume every part of your being, until you are nothing but the very pain you feel.
That is usually how it would end. But now it wouldn’t just be your parents. Din would be there, in his beskar armor, laid out on the ground. And you couldn’t see his face but every fiber of your being knew he was gone and it was your fault. You would feel your stomach absolutely drop and this terrifying dread fill every part of your body, consuming you until you felt like you’d collapse. And even when you eventually woke up, sweat covering your body and your hands shaking, that feeling would still be there, eating you up raw.
Tonight was no exception. You woke up in the middle of the night, hyperventilating with such an overwhelming sense of guilt washing over you, almost drowning you in it. You brought your shaky hands up to your face, wiping away at the tears streaming down it. Nights like these were tough. You’d lay there on your cot, staring up at the ceiling and fighting sleep. Because you couldn’t fall asleep and see it again. The images were already burned into your mind and that was bad enough. Experiencing it again was a hell you couldn’t endure multiple times, especially not in the same night.
You sit up, planting your hands on your knees and taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. The Crest was completely silent, until you heard a small sound from the cockpit. You looked over to where Din slept, finding the door closed which meant he should of been asleep. You reach for the blaster you’ve kept hidden under your pillow, your fingers reaching around it and pulling it in front of you. Your hands were still shaking slightly but you held the blaster confidently in front of you, rising from the cot and slowly letting yourself step towards the noise coming from the cockpit, tip toeing silently towards the ladder leading to the small space. You keep one hand of the blaster, using the other to slowly make your way up. You pop your head up, blaster coming up with you, and exhale when you see it’s just Din in his seat, polishing some armor.
“Din, what are you doing?” You quietly hiss, pulling your whole body up and into the cockpit, putting the blaster down and sitting down in the passengers seat.
Din looked up at you, his helmet moving from his armor to your face. He was in his pajamas still, long sleeve shirt and long pants covering most of his skin. “Did I wake you?”
“No. I,” You trail off, not wanting to bother Din with your nightmare. You would rather ignore it and just talk with him. “I just couldn’t sleep.”
“You were just knocked out when I came up here.”
“Oh, so you watch me sleep now?” You raise an eyebrow teasingly, already feeling more at ease.
“Yeah. The drool really does something for me.”
You gasp at Din’s quip, your mouth slightly widened in shock. “I do not drool.”
“Okay, sweet one.” Din sarcastically said, his helmet rolling back down to the armor in his lap.
You roll your eyes, scoffing slightly to which you hear Din chuckle. “Why are you polishing your armor in the middle of the night?”
“Couldn’t sleep.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah. Just... thinking.”
You lean against one of the chair’s arms, tucking some hair behind your ears. “What were you thinking about?”
Din let out a small sigh and you furrowed your brows. Something was going on. He placed his armor on the floor besides him, looking back up to you. “What do you want from life?”
You tilted your head back, a little shocked by Din’s question. “What do you mean?”
“When you imagine your life in the future, what do you want?”
That was a heavy question. Once, long before the worlds cruel hands had twisted your life, you had hoped for a rather normal future. You could of seen yourself working on Jakku, taking over your father’s business. Maybe even settling down one day and having a kid or two. It was very domestic and probably boring, but it was calm and docile. So wildly different from the life you had been given so far.
But now life was so different. For the longest time, you didn’t think about your future. You just focused on getting through the day. Life was hard enough and plaguing yourself with thoughts of what could of been felt like a cruel joke. Now it was different, though. You found yourself hoping, yearning for some kind of future. And in every version of it, you found yourself incorporating Din somehow. Today you had done that very thing. Laying in that field with Din and the kid, no worries or concerns, made you think. It would be nice to live on a planet like this, where you didn’t have to worry about anybody or anything. Just you, the kid, and Din.
But that kind of thought was embarrassing to admit out loud. Because while you could confidently say that you and Din were friends, in the end you had been hired to take care of the ship and the kid. And you guys never put a timeline on you job, but you knew it would come to an end one day. Whether that was cause the kid was older or Din didn’t need you anymore or maybe Din found something else, something you didn’t fit into.
“I don’t really know. One day I want to just... settle down, I guess. Not always be so worried.” You shrugged at your answer. It was true, but you let out a lot. “What about you?”
“I never really thought about it before. But now... with the kid and you, it’s hard not to.”
You quirked your head at the answer. You knew the kid had to be part of the reason why Din was thinking about this, but he also mentioned you. Did that mean that in his future he saw you? Or was he just thinking of how one day you’d be gone? “What do you mean?”
“I just want to do right by you guys. You two deserve to be happy and safe.”
“We are happy and safe.”
“This isn’t the life you two deserve. You deserve normalcy and-”
“Din, stop.” You saw the man lean back against his chair, exasperated. “You have changed my life for the better. And the kids. We were both in such dark places before you came along. So don’t belittle what you’ve done for us.”
“Yeah. But I can’t even get the kid to where he belongs.”
You pause at that. To where he belongs? What the kriff did that mean? He belonged with Din, his father, and you. He was safe here. “What?”
Din turned his helmet towards you and let out a loud sigh. “Dank farrik.”
You looked up at him as he rose from his seat, putting his hands on his helmet like he was cradling his head. “What is it, Din?”
Din let his hands drop, looking over at you. “I haven’t told you something.”
Your heart stopped. This wasn’t good, at all. You could sense it in Din’s demeanor and his tone. “What is going on?”
“The kid... doesn’t belong with me. His powers are too much for me. I can’t help him. He needs someone who knows how to train him.” You knew where this was going before Din even finishes and you feel your stomach drop. “I was quested to find a Jedi who can take him in.”
You felt like you were going to throw up, your head dropping to look down into your lap. You couldn’t look at Din right now. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Your voice was shaking, tears pricking at your eyes.
“I got lost in this, in you. It’s been so nice, like life is normal.” You knew exactly what he was talking about because you had felt it almost every day. And you should of known it was too good to be true. “I’m sorry, cyar’ika.”
You felt his hands try to reach out for you and you pushed them away, finally looking up at him and feeling tears rush down. “Don’t.” You stood from your seat. “Don’t cyar’ika me. You should have told me.”
He should of. He knew how much you had lost. He knew your family had been ripped away from you and how hard it was for you to move on. And then he gave you a family. The kid and him were your new family. And you had dumbly let yourself fantasize about the future of your family. Of raising the kid with Din and maybe one day your relationship with Din would move further. You had let yourself do that, all without knowing that this family would be taken away from you too. And you were supposed to let it happen.
What Din was saying made sense. You knew the kid was powerful. You could feel it before you were made witness to his abilities. You knew it was why people wanted him, so they could exploit it. You thought that was the extent of it though. You didn’t think about how the kid would need training. You had let yourself get too caught up in your feelings and in your love for him to see past it, towards the kids future.
“I know.”
“You kept that from me. You let me join you guys without warning me. You gave me a family... a family that’s got an expiration date on it.”
“What?”
“I have lost all my family, Din. I can’t do that again. You’ll find a Jedi and then the kid will be gone. And then I’ll be gone.”
“What are you talking about?”
You threw your hands up. “Din, the only reason I’m here is because the kid. Hell, the kid is the only reason you brought me on. Without him, you would of left me because you didn’t want me.” You feel your voice crack with the last sentence. You were distraught and angry and these emotions were wrecking havoc on you.
“That’s not true. All I want is-”
“No, it is.” You interrupted. “If the kid hadn’t liked me and wanted me to come, I wouldn’t have. Which means as soon as he is gone, my job here is done and I’m gone.”
A silence fell over the cockpit, a tension so palpable that you swore you could cut into it. You hated this. You hated what you were feeling and you hated arguing with Din and you hated that you knew you were going to lose him. Part of you wished you were still naive, that you could of been allowed to think your silly little thoughts about family.
“I don’t want you to go. Please.”
You winced at the way Din spoke. It was raw and you swore you could feel the pain. But you just turned away. “I can’t do this again.”
“I lost my family too. I understand this.”
And maybe that was true. But you don’t think he would ever understand the guilt settling into the pit of your stomach. The kid needed a Jedi, someone who understood the Force and could train him. He needed a master, someone so exceptional because the kid’s connection with the Force was strong, making his powers even stronger.
You were once trained. Your grandmother had shown you how to use the Force, how to be one with it and allow it to flow within you. But that night, when you had lost your family and used your abilities to kill... it wasn’t the same. You no longer felt a healthy respect for the Force and felt wonder at the way you were able to use it. All you felt was fear of what you could become. So you abandoned it, tried your best to forget all of your training and vowed to never use it. A vow you had now kept for years. Now all your training might as well had been reversed. Even if you wanted to use it, you couldn’t train the kid. It took years for your grandmother to train you and in order to even begin to think about training the kid, you would need to retrain yourself, which you didn’t even think was possible. And even it was possible, the child was too powerful for you. You’d never be able to help him like a true Jedi Master would be able to.
And you felt at fault for that. If you were a better Jedi, a better teacher, a better person, you’d be able to do it. And you’d be able to keep the kid with you and Din. You wouldn’t have to hand him off to someone you didn’t know.
“You don’t understand.” You croaked out, wiping away all the tears.
“Then tell me what I don’t understand.”
You remembered your mother’s words. Her preaching to you over and over again to never tell anyone what you were. You remembered your Grandmother ranting about the distain between Jedis and Mandalorians and how if a Mandalorian learned what you were, they’d hate you. And you could of seen Din looking past that, not being biased. But now if he learned what you were and how you couldn’t train the child and keep his kid with him, he’d hate you. And you wouldn’t blame him. So you couldn’t ever tell Din, could never reveal that part of yourself to him. You’d have to keep it hidden like you’d done your whole life.
“I need to be alone.” You turned to the ladder, slipping down it without giving Din a chance to stop you. You marched over to where the kid slept, opening the door and finding him peacefully asleep, huddled with a blanket in his hammock. He was blissfully unaware of the way you were failing him and of the turmoil going on in your mind. You felt more tears fall down, your hand reaching out to grab his little hand.
You had gotten too close to him and Din. But you knew if you stayed, you’d only get closer. The child needed help. And Din was so intoxicating. You couldn’t distance yourself from either of them.
Unless you left.

Din found her sitting in the same field of flowers from yesterday, hugging her knees to her chest and staring into the sunrise. It was early morning and there was a crispness to the cool morning air. Even with the helmet on, Din could smell the sweetness of the flora. If the situation were different, Din would love to sit out here with her like they had done last night. But things were hard right now.
He hadn’t slept at all. He had just sat in the cockpit, staring out the window and reflecting on just how badly he had messed up. He knew he messed up, really bad. He knew it when he realized he had never told her about his quest. But he didn’t think he truly understood just how much it would have impacted her until she looked at him with those eyes. They were so full of hurt and betrayal, and Din hated that he was the one to cause it. That was when Din realized how much deeper this went for her. And he knew there was something she hadn’t told him. Something that was eating away at her, at his cyar’ika. And he wanted to know what it was so badly, but he also wanted to respect her boundaries like she had done for him time and time again.
Din stepped towards her, lowering himself down to sit besides her. She didn’t turn to look at him, her steady gaze remaining on the array of colors illuminating the sky as the sun rose.
“I’m sorry.” Din’s heart broke at the apology she whispered, her voice cracking slightly. She had nothing to be sorry about. Everything that had happened was his fault. He should of told her about the kid as soon as he agreed to let her on and especially once they started getting so close.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.” Din sighed, laying his hands down on each side of his body, clutching onto the ground like it was an anchor. “I should of told you.”
She nodded her head, finally looking over at him. He could see the fatigue on her face but in this light, she still looked so beautiful. It shocked Din how someone could so consistently take his breath away. “I understand it is hard for you too.”
That was definitely true. Din hadn’t had a family in so long. And now that he did, he was so scared of losing it but it also felt like a definitive. The kid had to be trained and it tore away at Din, but he couldn’t do it. The child needed someone who knew how to help him and Din knew it should be sooner rather than later. Perhaps that was why he never referred to the kid as his son and always kept this small barrier up. Because Din knew if he fully let the kid into his heart, he would break once he had to let him go. And perhaps that was the pain every parent had to endure but he couldn’t accept it. He had already lost too much.
And her words still echoed in his mind. Which means as soon as he is gone, my job here is done and I’m gone. Is that what she wanted? Or did she truly not realize how much he cared for her? Because Din heard that and felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. Unlike the child, Din allowed himself to get closer to her than any other person in the galaxy. Perhaps it was naive, but he thought once the kid was gone, he would still have her. That she would want to stay with him. That she would be by his side in whatever came next. “Sweet one.”
She closed her eyes for a minute at the nickname and Din brought a gloved hand up to her face, just barely brushing her cheek but he felt her lean into it. He wanted to touch her, to hold her and tell her just how much he cared for her. “Please don’t leave me.” His voice cracked and he felt himself choke up as she opened her eyes, looking straight at him. “I can’t lose you, cyar’ika.”
Her eyes softened and she nodded slowly. “I don’t want to go.”
“Then don’t. Even when the child is gone... you can stay. I want you to stay.”
“Yeah?”
Din’s heart clench at her need for reassurance. He hadn’t even realized how reliant he was on her until the thought of her leaving scared him to death. He swore he needed her more than he needed air. “Yes.”
She reached her hand up, holding onto the one that touched her face. Din brought it away from her, feeling her twist her fingers within his. “Okay.”
Din let out a deep breathe, feeling whole again as she leaned her forehead against his helmet. She closed her eyes and Din brought his other hand to hers, linking his fingers with hers so both of his hands were full. This is where he belonged: with her. Wherever she was was his home.
He felt the words on the tip of his tongue. But those three words had the power to change so much and he had already felt like he was so close to losing her. He couldn’t risk it.
Perhaps another time, he could tell her how much he loved her.

“Enji, it’s okay. Please try to calm down. Everything is going to be fine.” Ivy comforted her husband, putting a hand on his leg in an attempt to keep it from bouncing so much. “I know, I know. Just a little nervous, that’s all.” He sighed, looking down at his hands while he rubbed his palms. They were the only ones in the room right now. It was cold and white everywhere apart from the delightful little flower clusters. The atmosphere was mostly quiet except for the tapping of keyboards and damp sounds of phones ringing in some of the offices.
“I mean…. what if it’s true? How could I be so careless? I should’ve been thinking clearly. I should’ve thought more about you. Things were just finally going so right and I was so distracted by excitement. So many good things were falling in to place. It’s…. It’s all my fault that we’re here today.” He brought her hand up from his thigh and kissed her knuckles. “Please, forgive me.” All she could do was smile at how nervous he was. “Forgive you for what, baby? Nothing bad has happened. Being here is a big part of the journey. It’s where our path is decided for us. I’m excited. You should be, too.”
Enji wrapped his arms around her with a tight squeeze. “You’re right. You’re absolutely right.” She always did know how to make the best of a situation that seemed frightening. Maybe it was the way of words. Maybe it was the sweet and calm voice that did it for him. Whatever it was, he was happy to be able to access it. Having her next to him was going to make this move a lot smoother, and he couldn’t ask for anything better right now.
Their moment of peace was interrupted by a nurse dressed in lovely pink scrubs. “Todoroki?” Her voice was gentle and nice as well as her smile while she patiently waited for the two to stand and follow her. On the way to their room, Ivy glanced into the rooms they passed. In one, a couple was finding out some good news. They looked excited. In another, a woman seemed to be having a good check up. And the last one was different than the other two. A woman leaned against her sad husband as she cried. The doctor also had a sad and sympathetic look on her face. Those sure were some interesting situations to witness. Which one would represent her and Enji’s?
“This room right here. Doctor Akari will be right with you.” The two parties bowed to each other before she left and they entered the room. Enji looked around the room and sighed. It was so weird to be here again. The rooms had changed a bit since the last time he was on this same floor seven years ago. ‘Wow. Seven. I’m getting old.’ He was quickly brought back to reality by Ivy. “I’m really glad we’re here today. This is good.” Her smile brought so much ease to him. How lucky is he to have someone like her.
A quiet knock on the door gathered their attention. In walked an older woman. Her hair was still a dark brown so she couldn’t have been that much older but you could see some of the age in her kind face. There was a bit of height difference between them, her being taller than Ivy, shorter than Enji of course. She carefully closed the door behind her before setting her chart on the table and introducing herself. “I’m Dr. Akari, nice to meet you today, Mr. and Mrs. Todoroki.” She shook their hands and continued. “Amazing, I never thought I’d be meeting, let alone working for the number two hero. I guess dreams do come true.” Enji blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Heh. Always nice to meet a fan.”
“So. We’re here for a verification today, correct? How are you feeling? Mrs. Todoroki, is this your first?” Ivy nodded. “Yes, ma’am. I-I’ve really never been in any type of situation like this before. I’m excited and kinda nervous. Sorry.” Dr. Akari held Ivy’s hands in her own. “Sweetheart. You don’t need to apologize. Being nervous is apart of this. A big part. That’s not to say that it’ll be a bad experience. It is what you make it. And I have so much faith that this is going to be an amazing and beautiful new part of your life. You’re going to be great at this.” Her smile was warm and reassuring. Maybe everything really will be okay. “Should we get this thing started?” Ivy looked at Enji and back at Dr. Akari with a grin. “Let’s do it.”
The test and results took no time at all to come back to them. “Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Todoroki. You’re having a baby.” Excitement quickly grew on Ivy’s face, brown eyes big and full of tears when she looked at Enji who hugged her tight, kissing the top of her head. “Wonderful news! Wonderful! Wonderful!” He was so energetic and happy like a child himself. The fifth child and he’s still taken aback as if it’s his first. Ivy stayed a little calmer herself. “I’m so happy. This is everything I’ve ever wanted…. A dream come true.” The doctor hugged Ivy when Enji finally pulled away. “I’m so happy for you two. You have my full adoration. I know you’re going to be an amazing mother. Before you know it, you’ll have a quirky and spontaneous bundle of joy in your arms.” Ivy froze.
‘….Quirky?’
Enji thanked the doctor a few more times before leaving and while they walked to the car, he noticed something was off about Ivy. She kept her gaze towards the ground and hadn’t said a word since leaving the doctor’s office. After a short walk they arrived at the car, Ivy got in the passenger seat and patiently waited for Enji to get in and close his door. As soon as the car door shut, Ivy broke down hysterically… “FUCK! FUCK! FUCKING! FUCK!” Honestly, it scared him a bit. She was fine a few minutes ago and now she’s upset? “IVY? WHAT’S WRONG?” She started hyperventilating, forcing him to pull Ivy into his lap and hold her. “Breathe! Breathe. Slow down. In….. Out….” It took a minute before she could match his breathing. Eventually, they were in sync and she began to calm down and got back into the passenger seat.
“Alright. What in the hell was that?” He didn’t mean to sound irritated, he was just genuinely confused about what just manifested. “I-I’m sorry but…. I-I can’t do this. I-I-I can’t be a mom.” Tears were still falling but she tried to wipe them away as fast as they came. “Wha…. What do you mean?” His brows were furrowed and his face contorted. “Enji…. I-I was so excited at first. And, I still am in some ways…. But…. what happens when…. w-when we have this child…. and they don’t have a quirk because of me? I wasn’t even thinking about it until Dr. Akari said the word quirky and all of a sudden it hit me. My child is going to be weak because of me…. They’re going to hate me. I know you want a strong child with a strong quirk but I-…. I-I can’t give you that.”
To be honest, he hadn’t thought of it either. But that was the old him anyways. He’s grown since then. Quirks aren’t everything to him anymore. Just her. Just his family. No matter what skills they had or didn’t have. He loves them in every aspect. “Ivy…. I don’t need you to give me that. I want you to be happy and healthy. I want to have this child with you no matter what happens. As long as you’re both okay, that’s what’s important. I know how I used to be. And I’m still sorry and trying to atone for it. I’m learning and growing every day because of you. I appreciate and love you so much.” His large hand held her cheek as he searched her eyes for a sign that she understood him.
A wave of safety washed over her as she leaned into his hand. So much calm after one random storm. “You’re right. You are learning. You have grown. And I am beyond proud of you. I’m sorry for my outburst. It wasn’t all about you. Being quirkless has always been a problem for me. Way before me and you. You’ve improved in ways that…. he never did.” Her gaze shifted to her feet when thoughts and feelings she had long ago returned. “Who?” When her gaze came back her eyes were brimming with tears of numb pain.“My dad….”
From a very young age, Ivy was victim to some of the most impactful abuse that young girls have suffered for centuries. Familial. Being the outcast, the one child that didn’t make the cut. Worked hard and reprimanded for occurrences out of her power. Her power. The center of everything and the reason for her suffering. More commonly known as a quirk, her ability should have been water manipulation. It ran in her family. They’ve always been connected to it all. Oceans, lakes, rain, dew, snow. A gene for telekinesis brought in from one of her great great grandparents but no one remembers which one.
“LET’S GO, LET’S GO, LET’S GO!” Nami James Emaraki, Ivy’s father, blew hard into his whistle. It’s not that common for a ten-year old to have to do burpees and laps on a Saturday morning. Especially since she’s not training for anything. “YOU SLACK AND I SWEAR ITS ANOTHER TEN LAPS!! YOU ALREADY MISSED BREAKFAST SINCE YOU WANNA SLEEP IN, I’M PERFECTLY FINE WITH YOU MISSING LUNCH CAUSE I’LL STILL EAT BUT YOU WON’T!!!!” He wasn’t kidding either. That threat wasn’t the least bit empty.
“I-” Her foot slipped and caused her to face plant. She lifted her head and a stream of blood ran from her nose. “OW! UGH! H-Help, please!” Rolling his eyes, he stomped over to her, grabbing a fist full of her hair. “Sure, I’ll help you. Usually salt water helps with things like that. Let’s get you a lot of salt water.” He looked at the pool and smiled. “How about 10 ft?” Panic flooded her entire body so quickly it almost made her dizzy. Or maybe that was from the quick face plant and loss of blood.
“N-No! Please!” Ignoring her, he began dragging her to the deep end of their pool. “I’m so sorry, I can keep going! I can keep going! Daddy I can keep going!” She couldn’t help but cry and scream for forgiveness because he always had such a terrible punishment for her. The closer they got the more she struggled. “DADDY PLEASE! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE NO! NO-” He tossed her in with a grunt and picked up his stopwatch. “Hurry up. You don’t wanna drown, use your quirk to get out!”
But that was the issue. Ivy was quirkless. It never showed up when it was supposed to. They hoped she was a late bloomer but it wasn’t looking very hopeful. Her father and uncle did everything they can to bring it out of her. They were so close they moved into two joint houses for each of their families, between the two homes, a facility with a large indoor pool that they used to coach swimming and have opened for water sports and activities. Every child in their family has used this pool to get better at their quirks. But Ivy was the only one forced into fearing it, unlike her siblings and cousins.
The eldest children were Ivy’s older twin brother and sister who were six years older than her, as well as a male cousin four years older than her. They were taught everything with care and detail. How to swim, how to make waves, etc. Next, her cousin that was but a few months older than her. He also experienced the life of being the middle child like her. Ivy was born next. Treated like all the other kids until she reached the age where quirks usually had already appeared in their family.
Four. When the family pediatrician attempted to explain that her quirk would never come in due to an extra joint in her foot, that of which the absence of would determine if the power would ever come in. Her father was so upset when they got home, he grabbed her by the ankles and dunked her in the water a few times before dropping her in the 5 feet. Her mother stood and watched as paramedics revived Ivy, pretending very well to be concerned.
Yet, here he is now. Watching her sink as she loses oxygen. Destined to be a corpse at the bottom of the pool. But just before tragedy could wrap her up in its claws, her father washed her back onto the side of the pool with a wave. There she laid in a puddle, lungs full of water. “So damn dramatic.” Unrightfully annoyed, he preformed mouth to mouth and saved her, smacking her when she accidentally spit up water in his face. “You’re a disgusting excuse for a daughter. But just you wait, you’ll be a hero soon enough. And you’re gonna be supporting your family after we’ve been so supportive of you. Get your ass up and come inside when you’re through acting like something wrong with you.”
Nami didn’t even look back after he started walking way. He didn’t care if she ever got up. To him, she has two options in life. Become a top pro-hero. Or die. And some days, she wished he wouldn’t save her. Some days she wanted to stay at the bottom of that pool knowing she wouldn’t be able to breathe. Ivy couldn’t help but wonder, what’s the point of living if your entire family is already disappointed in you?
During lunch, her mother Eimi asked her about today’s training. “How did it go today, Ivy?” She smiled, looking between her and her father. Ivy didn’t want to answer so she kept her mouth shut. “Ivy, your mama is talking to you. Answer her.” His fist slammed down on the table. The back of her throat burned from swallowing her need to cry. “Ivy? Answer her, girl, can you not hear?!” She flinched at him raising his voice. With a quiet sigh, Ivy spoke, carefully trying not to let her voice crack. “It w-was fine, mommy. But….” She couldn’t take it anymore. She had to speak up.
“B-BUT DADDY TRIED TO KILL MEEEEE!!” Cries broke out of her throat. “CONTROL YOUR DAMN VOLUME RIGHT NOW!” He tried to grab her arm but she ducked out of the way. “MAMA I FELL AND HURT MY FACE AND MY NOSE WAS BLEEDING AND HE THREW ME IN THE POOL AND ALMOST LET ME DROOOOOOWN!!!!” Tears dripped from her chin as she trembled and sobbed. Eimi just looked at Nami and shrugged. “Well, Ivy. Maybe if you stopped pretending your quirk isn’t there, you could have saved yourself. So I don’t want to hear it.” Ivy was horrified and offended by every word out of her mother’s mouth. “WHAT? BUT MOMMY-” “THAT’S ENOUGH! YOU’RE GOING TO YOUR ROOM!” Before she could run, he grabbed her and carried her to her room as she struggled. “I HATE IT HERE! I HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!!” Once the door slammed close, she hugged one of her stuffed animals tight and cried. And cried. And cried. Until she cried herself to sleep.
Ivy had ever only known Hell on Earth. Her siblings before her were treated with respect. Even her baby brother and even younger baby sister got to see the best from their parents. Ivy was the one that they wanted to depend on. Their goals for her were to make her one of the most famous Pro-Heroes ever. Then use her paycheck to further their lives. She would put them on the map and be their little bank. But the older she got, the more she fought back. Until finally they realized she’d never be able to help them anyways.
Ivy was shunned and kicked out of her home. Forced to learn the way of the world. She made her way through three nice jobs and even college. Out of all the smoke and fire, she emerged through her trials and tribulations and began working at Endeavor’s agency. Her hardships didn’t end there but shortly after, everything started to work out for her.
Her past was filled with evil but it never influenced her to become a bad person even after never getting her quirk. She realized that quirks never really mattered. It was the love that she never received. Love that she’ll be giving to this baby. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if her child ever had to go through what she went through.
The world outside was so beautiful as they drove home. She looked at Enji and smiled. He sparkled in the sunlight. Those beautiful blue eyes focusing on the road while he held her hand up and kissed it. “You’re gonna be okay, Ivy. I love you so much. You’re going to be a great mom. And, I hope i can be a great father. On the fifth try.” The reassurance made her grin. “Thank you, Enji. Thank you.”
