The Temeraire Playlist...

Hi. Hello. I am here today to ramble on about the music I've got on my temeraire playlist.

My music taste is. Strange. Blame my dad.

GRAND NEW SPIN (GOLD CELESTE): Starting out strong with a song that reminds me of willzing. There are! A lot of these!!! On here. You have been forewarned.

Anyways I think this is from Tharkay's perspective. "A longing for things to begin" (Ok but pining Tharkay. methinks.) / "A place where truth is not a sin" (THEIR HOME!!!! POST CANON!!!!!!!!! yea guess what the truth part is I dare you. I'll give you a hint its their GAY LOVE)

TWO FOR NERO (EVERYTHING EVERYTHING): Ok so I can't put an everything everything song and NOT talk about it. Fair warning I'm crazy insane about this song. Like wild. My blog name is actually based on the everything everything song called (you guessed it) president heartbeat.

Now this song. Starts out a little strange. You're like 'where are these guys going with this???' And then about halfway through. You get to. The Part. You'll see what I mean. Pllllss tell me what you think about this song I'm so curious if it's just a me thing or what.

Anyways... this song is soo. Will Laurence. But specifically it's Granby talking about him.

"Sailing on a sinking ship, into the sunset in day" (poor granble forced onto all those many. long. boat voyages LOL) / "To think I'll have to give it all up someday" (just thinking Abt how they'd never be able to get legally married and even if they do stay together how they'd live their lives in constant fear of being found out) / "And if I ever treated you mean, you know that it was only because, I'm sorry, I couldn't have you for my own"

IN THE AEROPLANE OVER THE SEA (NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL): Tharkay song :3

"What a beautiful face, I have found in this place, that is circling all 'round the sun" (Tharkay inner monologue whenever he sees Laurence) / "What a beautiful dream, that could flash on the screen in the blink of an eye and be gone from me" (the dangers of Laurence dying in the line of duty, etc, etc) "And one day we will die, and our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea" (thinking about temeraire spreading their ashes lol lol lol I am laughing so hard rn hahahahaha. spreading them TOGETHER I might add. SIMULATION SWARM (BIG THIEF): Mmmm yum yum I love this song. It sort of gives me Granby & Laurence vibes.

"O my stars, winged creatures, gathering in silken height" (TEEEMMMERAIIRE! sorry I have to.) / "with the drone of fluorescence, flicker, fever, fill the form" (just thinking about Laurence watching over Granby one of the many times he's seriously injured. siiigh.) / "And you could be my brother, once again fall asleep with our backs against each other" / "I'd fly to you tomorrow, I'm not fighting in this war, I wanna drop my arms and take your arms and walk you to the shore"

TOUGH LOVE (FLYTE, LAURA MARLING): auhgguhgh more willzing feelings. just thinking about their adjustment period after fighting in the war where they're both trying to learn how to Be Normal about being in love. thisssss ssoonnggg gives me Tharkay POV vibes.

"I've been trying to hurt you, I've been holding you tight" (the ultimate paradox, pushing away those you love because you're afraid of it, and being so desperately in love you can't fully make yourself do it.) / "I've been learning to love you, am I doing it right?" / "How are you still breathing, with my hands all over your heart?" (I think that while Laurence is still eons from normal, once he comes to terms with it he's a lot... MORE normal about their romance than Tharkay. Laurence trusts him completely and it is. a little disturbing to Tharkay, perhaps)

THE SMOKE (THE SMILE): ohohohoho. this is a fucking PHENOMENAL song.

"It begs me, while I'm sleeping, I desire a second chance, I set myself on fire" (oh YEEESSSS post treason Laurence yum yum yum) / "Wakes me from my sleep, smoke wakes me from" (MUST I EVEN SAY IT. THARKAY RESCUE MOMENT.)

TRIPOLI (PINBACK): I'm too lazy to make an animatic. but if I WERE going to. it would probably be to this song.

"You know what's gonna happen, you know what's gonna happen, he's gonna go down, and he's gonna come back again" (Tharkay somehow miraculously returning to Laurence over and over and over again. soulmates. attracted to each other but also like LITERALLY physically attracted to each other in a magnet way. idk. SOMETHING.)

FORTRESS (PINBACK): THE EGG HUNTTTTTTT!!! HUNT FOR EGG!!!!! DESERT!!!!!!!!!! LAURENCE THARKAY GRANBY BONDING!!!!!!!!

TodoBakuDeku (My Hero Academia)

Obviously not canon and never will be but oh does this ship have a chokehold on me. I just think this trio is so balanced in every way. Like we have our precious TodoDeku who connect by being nerds and the sweetest boys. Then we also have TodoBaku who are just lovely little menaces. And, of course, BakuDeku--can't beat friends to enemies to lovers. And then they all come together to form a masterpiece. Idk I just love this ship so much.

BakuDeku (My Hero Academia)

So I honestly really wasn't into this ship too much until reading the final war arc and meta. Other people's viewpoints changed my mind! Hori has done a really great job of portraying BakuDeku's complex relationship in the manga (for however you view their canon relationship). So like idk how can I not ship For-the-Rest-of-Our-Lives Katsuki with Control-Your-Heart Izuku?

Sidenote: I almost didn't include this on the list because I tend to only really ship this pair while reading the manga. I never shipped them in the anime unless it was TodoBakuDeku with Deku as a hinge. And I don't even read many fics with just Katsuki and Izuku. I just feel like fandom BakuDeku feels incomplete without Shouto for some reason. Like I'm Team BakuDeku for the manga, Team hinge TodoBakuDeku in the anime, but throuple TodoBakuDeku in the sanctuary of my mind/on ao3. (Maybe that'll change once I start watching Season 7 though.)

KilluGon (Hunter x Hunter)

I only watched this anime this year but ohmygod I immediately fell in love with Gon and Killua. They are so precious. I mean, Killua is just a little smitten kitten. And Gon? He's in it. Anyway, love their dynamic and of course I ship them. Gon is Killua's light after all!

MatchaBlossom (Sk8 the Infinity)

Literally just started shipping this so I'm in the throes of obsession rn but their dynamic? *chef's kiss* (hehe, you like what I did there?) Childhood friends? Pining while the other falls for another? Realizing feelings? Already married bickering old couple? Give me all the headcanons please!

SatoSugu (Jujutsu Kaisen)

I mean, c'mon. Tragic gays are my weakness. They're gonna be OG for me. No one can compare. They're on a different level. All I want is for them to have hopped on a plane and gone somewhere they can finally find peace, is that too much to ask? (Gege??)

Ok so this crackship was brought on by my serendipitous viewing of Nicktoons Unite fanart on this beautiful app and subsequent reading of all their fics on ao3 (a grand total of four, btw). And I'm obsessed. I was a diehard Danny Phantom fan as a kid (we stan our queer/genderqueer/bisexual/trans ghost boy). And I never watched El Tigre as a kid, but the way the fandom portrays him and Danny together just hits. Salty and sweet with a lil bit of darkness? Yum.

SasaMiya (Sasaki to Miyano)

First canon ship on this list lol. You want fluff? You got it. Give me some good pining, consent, and mutual respect, thank you.

ShunMio (Stranger by the Shore)

Second and last canon ship on the list! Love me some good ole sun and moon. Idk their story is so cute. Plus, I like how Kii Kana portrays Shun's feelings regarding his sexuality and how that affects his relationship with Mio. It's relatable.

KazuRei (Buddy Daddies)

I mean, this is practically canon, right? Well, at least queerplatonically (which we stan). Love our little found family. This anime had such a cute and goofy premise, how could I not fall for this ship?

Animaniacs Headcanons

I recently came upon my 5 page Harry Potter HC google doc so I thought I would do it for one of my most recent Hyper fixations

- Hello Nurse Mindey and Katie Kaboom's Moms Sister - the mime creeps Wakko out, - Slappy basically adopted the Warners as her grandkids - all the Warners share traits with the animals they described themselves as in the "what are we" song - Wakko is partially colour blind - they also shake themselves dry after swimming, gating rained of etc - Dot sometimes can't handle water - Dot's claws grow the fastest and the longest out of all the Warners - Yakko bounces when happy - Yakko has really sensitive hearing - Wakko has pretty bad sensory issues, but they're calmed by their hat, - when having a but of a sensory overload Wakko tucks their ears into their hat to cancel out the noise - the Warners have a three teir bunk bed, and whever Dot can't sleep she usually alternates on which brother she goes to for comfort - when it's Yakko, he usually tells her a story and sings a song - and When it's Wakko they usually just Let Dot sleep in their bed and provides sufficient hugs - Wakko has read the whole Riordenverse multiple times - and Wakko hot Dot to read them too - Yakko is not much of a fantasy book fan but - Wakko is ambidextrous - Wakko is really good at physically demanding tasks - Yakko is the Brains of the trio, Wakko is the Brawn and Dot is the Beauty - Wakko prefers Skirts to pants - Dot goes out with Wakko to buy dresses, skirts etc, - Dot and Wakko act like twins, since their only one year apart in age they just treat eachother like twins (people also ask them if they're twins and they just say yes, cause it's funny) - Dot is really good at embroidery, cross Stich etc, and she makes little things for her siblings - Wakko and Dot once went as Dipper and Mabel for Halloween (Yakko went as Grunkle Stan) - sometimes all three Warners just pile on top of each other on Yakko's bed and sleep there - Hello Nurse is Basically the Warner Sibs mum - Minerva and Hello Nurse have a bit of a thing goin on (crack ships my beloved) - despite being severly lactose intolerant Yakko just doesn't care, he'll eat cheese, chocolate etc - on a separate Halloween Wakko and Dot dressed as Leo and Piper - Angelina fell first William fell harder - if the Warners were humans they'd be half British and half from Warnerstalk (Germany) and have Vertiligo - Angelina is German but has an American accent (VC Taylor Swift) - William is British and has a British Accent (VC Weasley twins) - Angelina is an only child and William has two siblings - Dot loves Musiums - after Pink Dot's favourite colour is yellow - Yakko's favourite colour is Lavender (this might be canon idk) - Wakko likes alot of the cool colours like blues, greens and Purples - Yakko is dog shit at math and I will die on this hill - Wakko is actually really good at it and helped write the Multiplication song - Dot is semi tiktok famous - Yakko gets into random fights with people on Twitter? X? idk anymore - Wakko streams of YouTube and Twitch - the Warners have a pretty big YouTube channel - Wakko is a really good cook - Dot can't cook for shit, she has burnt Water for Spielberg's sake - all three Warners love the Owl house - they dressed up as both the Blight kids (Y: Ed, W: Em D: Amity) and the Noceda kids (Y:Hunter, W:Vee,D:Luz) - Wakko has a mild Cat allergy - -all the Warners are Ace - Yakko is Pan, Wakko is Aroace and Dot is Bi -Wakko is Non-binary & uses They/them Pronouns -Yakko is a Demi-boy & uses he/they pronouns - Dot is the only Cis Warner Sibling (you could say that she's the Warner Cis-ter) -Hello Nurse is a Lesbian - Dr Scrach'n'sniff is Trans-masc & Gay -Hello Nurse & Dr Scrach'n'sniff co-parent the warners

Hello! I’ve liked your fics for a long time, and was wondering if you would write something with fem- presenting Loki? There are some gender-fluid Loki fics on ao3, but I Need More To Live. I would write one, but I wouldn’t ever finish it.

I really want Loki to join the avengers in 2012 so that the other stuff doesn’t happen. sometimes I want Loki and Natasha to make fun of the rest of the avengers.

Idk I just really like the idea that Loki and Natasha would be friends. Or Loki and Wanda. (Except for all of the aforementioned characters got done so dirty by MCU. Isn’t that like a trope? Kill off the girl so the guy has a motivation to defeat the bad guy? Like from Green Lantern or something?

And Loki and Wanda got rewritten.). Whatever. I’m PERFECTLY OKAY! *eye twitches*

That kind of turned into a rant. Sorry.

Here are more of my headcanons, because I’d rather dm someone on tumblr instead of actually making a post on my blog. I’m weird.

-Loki was friends with Tchaikovsky and Mozart and Shakespeare. Maybe even Paganini, or like Ada Lovelace. Or Albert Einstein. Basically a lot of historical figures and also musicians from the 1980s.

-Loki is an honorary gay, because he’s an alien and aliens don’t have human concepts of gender and sexuality. But also you saw that 🏳️‍🌈hand flip🏳️‍🌈 he did in the 1602 episode. I mean, he was just being so gay in that 1602 episode. It was beautiful.

-Loki is a sad little boi. 🥺🥺

-Loki is a good little boi who got did dirty by MCU and Odin. (🥺🥺)

-Loki isn’t always a boy.🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️(unfortunately no gender-fluid flag emojis so 💕🤍💜🖤💙)

-Loki knows all the languages.

-Loki would watch anime and Kdramas if HE WASN’T DEAD.

-Loki is a theater kid.

-Loki is cat

-Loki knows how to play ALL the instruments. He likes cello the best though. Also he has perfect pitch.

-Loki needs therapy. Like two blue whales worth of therapy.

-If Tony and Loki ever had a long conversation, they would figure out how to solve world hunger and climate change and overpopulation AND THEIR MOTHERS. (It doesn’t make sense but just roll with it)

-Loki is a Major Fucking Nerd About Everything.

-Loki likes calculus as a hobby.

-Loki is, (un?)fortunately, a British stereotype.

-Loki ships appledash and narusasu.

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing all of these with me, it's so fun to see other people's headcanons about Loki and their excitement about his character. I love discussing this blorbo and cracking him open like an onion to peal away layers of trauma and reveal the nerd beneath.

Lol, the amount of times I've thought about doing an MCU rewrite post a1 to fix everything is insane. If I did do this, I'd actually probably start at civil war, because personally, I feel like everything was (generally) actually okay and enjoyable until infinity war. Civil war is just a good place to kick around the fix-its because everything is such a mess.

As far as your request goes, it might surprise you, but you're actually NOT the first person to approach me about a genderfluid, fem-presenting Loki. More like the....4th? or maybe 5th? Idk. I've definitely been approached by multiple people over the years about this. Firstly, thank you for trusting me with your idea and your headcanons, I'm humbled and honored that you would approach me about this because you believed I would be able to write the story in a way that you would find meaningful and enjoyable <3

Second - I really just don't know. My first inclination is to say no, not because I'm not interested or don't care, but mostly because I'm so busy right now I really don't know when I'll be able to get to the story. Plus, I'm really not sure how to go about this. I'd need to figure out what direction I wanted to take the story, because Loki being genderfluid wouldn't change that much except their outward appearance. Loki + genderfluid + Natasha friendship is an amazing concept, but it's not a...plot, if that makes sense? "Fixing" a1 could be 50,000,000 separate things, and if it goes out as a fix-it for mcu, that would be an enormous project. Easily 200k-400k+, which would take me like...uh 1-3 years to write.

Loki being genderfluid IS something I've thought about just adding to my fics in general now (i'm really not sure, because I love cis male Loki, and I know it's canon that he's genderfluid, but I kind of disregard most things from the series anyway?) but Idk?

+ and this is just a personal one for me, but I don't know how to include Loki being genderfluid as a major part of the plot/story right now. Like, for example, I've been in the process of dumping all of my religious lgbtq+ trauma on peter parker in a (massive) one-shot that revolves around Peter learning to accept himself as being gay, but the point of the story is that Peter doesn't accept himself at first and the conclusion is when he does. (I don't know if I'm ever going to share or finish that fic by the way, so don't look for it) I don't know how to take the concept of this story, turn it into a fix-it for Avengers 1 with Natasha, and have a meaningful story about being genderfluid at the same time?

Like to me there's two different ways to go about lgbtq+ stories: a story about being gay that is intended to talk about lgbtq+ experiences and focus heavily on that, vs a story where the character is lgbtq+ and it's just part of their character and not something we spend a lot of time talking about because we don't need to. The story isn't about them being lgbtq+ specifically, it's about the character. Recently, a lot more media has started doing the latter, which is really, really nice because I don't feel like being lgbtq+ has to be justified every 20 lines.

The story I'm writing about Peter Parker is the former. It's about being gay. The entire story revolves around it. What I can tell from what you're saying is that you want something where Loki just IS genderfluid, but it's not something we spend a whole lot of time discussing because the story isn't ABOUT being genderfluid, it's about fixing mcu with genderfluid Loki as the main character, if I'm understanding this correctly? Which is fine and I absolutely support it because there is nothing wrong with writing genderfluid Loki and I wholeheartedly support those authors.

So i guess to shorten this - because this isn't just like a ~5-15k one-shot (which are about the only length of requests I can successfully complete right now), as respectfully as I can, I'm going to have to lovingly turn you down. I'm not saying no, I'll never write about genderfluid Loki, because I'm like 90% sure I will eventually, but I just don't know about a fix-it for MCU from the first Avengers. One suggestion I have is maybe, if you really really need to see this come to fruition, is to just write a bunch of one-shots that are interconnected based on each of your headcanons and then publish it as an interconnected series, not so much a full length novel like I would write. I can easily see this being a really enjoyable series. Best of luck

so this is my wolfstar doctor who au, basically just a combination of 2 of my favorite ships at the moment and just a story i'm very excited for but it confuses me to no end. time travel and timelines and stuff is all just very difficult, i need to get back to this story, tbh i took a break from it a bit ago.

the basic plot is that Remus is sort of a stand in for The Doctor, though he's called The Professor because i thought that was a fun little idea. so he goes around time and space, finding companions along the way and teaching them about things. HOWEVER, he's still a werewolf, because i love moony. Remus thinks he is the very last of the time lords after the time war (because this is a doctor who au and of course I'm gonna ground it in a bit more of that plot). angsty stuff with Remus thinking he's lost his closest friend and the person he loves most. but then it turns out that Sirius is alive. and Sirius is partially going to be based on the characterization of The Master, however i'm adding a lot of my own ideas. Sirius isn't simply evil or insane, they've seen so much of time and space that they've grown somewhat apathetic to the struggles faced by those who are suffering, instead they see beauty in this pain. they're an artist. and then like more angsty shit happens too and i'm still trying to work out the plot.

A Tree In the Shadows

so, this fic idea was one of my first attempts at trying to focus more on the female marauders. i haven't gone back to this fic in a while though tbh, so i feel bad about it. the basic idea is "As the boys are working on the marauders map and becoming animagi, the girls have their own coming of age stories." so basically both groups are too focused on their own shit to notice any of the stuff going on around them, because i honestly can't believe that the girls would be that oblivious if they didn't have their own shit going on. my idea was the girls are working through their relationships of course, but the main plot kind of starts around Dorcas having this spot that she goes to when she wants to be alone. this tree in the shadows, a spot where she can think and have peace and quiet. Mary, however, had been following Dorcas because she wanted to get intel on Marlene's crush. and so Mary finds the spot and hangs around. Dorcas is kinda annoyed about the whole situation but eventually she accepts it and eventually even becomes a bit friendly with Mary. over time more of their friends hang out at the tree. one of them even brings up the idea of making a tree house here, having their own little spot. (the boys never find the tree house so it's never on the map, the girls have their own space, and it's just really cute).

On Brideshead Revisited (1981), shipping, and queerbaiting

To get the most out of my Black Friday Amazon Prime 2-month Britbox subscription, I sat down to bingewatch all my childhood PBS Brit-com favorites: I got reacquainted with my old Friday night friends... Fawlty Towers, To the Manor Born, Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, and so on.

And then there it was, my first crush, my first love: Brideshead Revisited (BR). Charles and Sebastian, the ship that launched a thousand... well, ships.

It's easy to remember but difficult to describe what it was like to be thirteen years old, in the summer of 1983, when everything was new and exciting, not just for me, but for the whole world, it seemed. My friends were discovering boys; I was discovering my friends discovering boys but failing to understand what the fuss was about. That is, until I saw a promo picture of BR in People magazine and two pairs of luminous brown eyes belonging to Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews.

Two pairs of brown eyes, it would seem, that were only for each other.

"Beautiful young men falling in love with each other" became my favorite song, one that would be played over and over for the next 40 years. It informed my entire pop-culture aesthetic, from poetry (second-generation Romantics FTW!) to music (oh, hello there, Morrissey) to movies (Birdy, anyone?) to monsters (*winks at Lestat and Louis*).

I do not exaggerate when I say watching BR when I was thirteen changed everything about the way I would see the world and I am honestly not sure who I would be had it not hit me at the right place, in the right time, in just the right way.

Fast-forward to almost 40 years later and I'm watching BR again, supplied with a whole new toolbox of critical thinking skills because I got a couple of degrees in English literature in the interim... MY GOD they were young, almost as young as I was; I'm middle-aged now, hmmm, do beautiful middle-aged men fall in love with each other too?

Don't be silly, of course they do.

I mean, do they EVER.

OFMD was a complete game-changer; when Ed kissed Stede, every "would-they-or-won't-they" ship that came before was suddenly dismissed as so much hollow queerbaiting; fuck you Nygmapot for teasing us so mercilessly, fuck you Murder Husbands, and most definitely fuck you Destiel for leading us on for eleven goddam seasons...but what about Charles and Sebastian? They never kissed for the camera. Does that count as queerbaiting?

I don't think so, for the following reasons:

It stuck to the source material: Charles and Sebastian never overtly kissed in the book, either. Whatever they did was implied subtextually, more innocently, and being kept under wraps, about ten times hotter.

They never teased it: There were many longing stares, smouldering glances, and lingering touches, but there was never any hint about what might happen if they leaned just a fraction closer, or gazed just a second longer. We never wanted to see it because we didn't have any hope we might have seen it.

It was a different time: I know that sounds like an excuse, but we simply did not get passionate gay kisses on prime-time TV in the 80s and it would have been too much of a distraction to happen then.

Nobody was denying the queer narrative at work: Antony Blanche, God bless him, made sure of that.

BR holds up, 40 years on, in a way that Gotham and Supernatural probably will not and do not deserve to. I can't resent BR for what it didn't do, because of so much that it did do. When Sebastian takes Charles to the botanical gardens for the first time, "to see the ivy"; I walked through that iron gate right along with them and nothing would ever be the same again.

They are so idiotic sometimes but also so so intelligent 😂✌️

I’m going to try and be as held together as possible. But the Primarchs are BROTHERS. Yes, the astartes are a whole another can of worms. But they’re brothers. Why? What is with the incest in this fandom? (I’m totally for lgbt I’m aro ace myself and a fanfic writer.) But this is just why?

Well, I fully expected someone to come at me eventually about this, and I thank you for actually being very polite about it! I'll try to explain myself as much as I can. I will only speak about myself and how I see it, it might be different for others.

First one all: Imo, genetically, they are not any more related than two random humans plucked from different continent. It's canon that Big E mixed up many string of DNA to make them. I do headcanons some of them as closer, genetically. Alpahrius Omegon are obliviously twins, and I like to Imagine Corvus and Konrad as such too.

Second: Culturally, again, imo, most of them don't see each others as brothers. They grew up on different planets, some with actual siblings and foster family, and only became into contact with each others as adult. Im pretty sure that canon Emperor simply decided to use a "family" structure to control them more easily, creating a sense of loyalty in them and not just going "hello im a weirdo who made you in a lab and then accidentally lost you around the galaxy".

I actually think it greatly vary, how the boys see one another. Magnus definitely see Lorgar as his brother, but if my memory is right, never gave a shit about Konrad. As a result, calling someone "brother" with meaning feel like a very deliberate choice for them.

Third, author intent: warhammer was created in.... An area were representations was, at best, minimal. Now I know it's the imperium and all, but they still somehow managed to sneak in some really awful queer coding. Fulgrim being so obliviously lgbtq+ and being the one to fall to the demon of sex and lust? (I know, slaanesh represent other things, but the link is here). Lion being LITERALLY named after a queer poet and having his entire concept being into hiding and secrecy? It suck. It really, really suck. So, I queer up some more of the characters. I make Corvus a transwoman, turn Ferrus into a gay icon, and let Leman be the bisexual horn dog he always deserved to be.

Fourth... Well, this is a bit more shallow, but: it make for great story. Literally almost everyone that is a big name in warhammer is freaking related, unless you move to the guards (Wich I do, god I could write love letters about the guards). As such, if you want to add romance to a story, and I do enjoy solid romance, and sex, and drama, you will quickly run into some issues of just... Not having enough unrelated character. Wich suck!!! I want more normal humans to have SM bf!!! Heck I want xenos to date the big dudes!!!! One of my fav ship is literally Yvraine/Guilliman yall

Im also terrible at dealing with oc, I don't enjoy writing them most of the time, and they feel extra cringy if I try to ship them with a main cast.

Fifth point, kinda related to the precedent two: something, having the boys being in love make a better story. The absolute tragedy of Fulgrim killing Ferrus, and then realising what he has done?? The pained betrayal of Sanguinius, after realising that Horus was utterly lost to Chaos? Beautiful. I like those things better with a flavoring of romance, but I fully respect someone who think it's more poignant to write about family members experiencing that betrayal.

Sixth: I write mostly to cope. I have a lot of pretty serious health issues, and suffer various shade of ptsd. I have experienced very personal and awful things before, and worked frontline in healthcare during the worst of the pandemic. It might seem like a strange way to justifie it, but going feral and posting outrageously sexual and stupid things really does help me relax and deal with bad things in my life.

And finally, the one that is the most important to me: they are fictional. They are literally plastic figurine that I can walk around on my table and can make them kiss in pretend if I want to. I could also take their mini, grab some greenstuff, and decide that, my Magnus is now "Sir flying mc pants, level 5 wizard of birbs and stupidity" and paint him green.

I have fun imagining them fucking or falling in love or eating spicy tacos or singing at eurovisions (and yes that post is coming), because it bring me joy, and I don't see it as incest. They aren't real. I can literally decide to not make them brother in my brain, just as I decided that Colchis should be based on Algeria in all my hc, or that Vulkan should not be chucked in black paint.

So yeah, that's why I write what I write!!! To be honest tho, you came around at a bad time, rn almost everything recent is peak horny posting lol. My mutuals do seem to enjoy it??? Good for them?????

If this is still distasteful to you, that's totally ok! We all have different tolerance level for fictional content. There's plenty of things that I avoid, and I don't mind at all if people block me! Your comfort level is more important than exposing yourself to potentially triggering content.

Ask 1 - About KTH1 and expectations

Ok, so I did write a shit post about this... (I mean… This is literally all Vmin’s songs so far ), but I still think your questions are worth a proper answer.

Honestly I think speculating about KTH1 is kind of hard, and as seen in the shit post I am quite torn with my expectations... In general I am the type who doesn’t like to expect too much in fear of being disappointed. I rather be pleasantly surprised. That being said Vmin does have a track record of getting involved in each other’s songs. I mean a lot is just speculation of course, but we do have confirmed cases as well, enough to not be too surprised if they would keep it up and do something for Tae’s solo album as well. (Tae saying his mixtape would be named Jimin back in 2016 still haunts me.)

On the other hand, they have already given us a lot of collabs. Adding more would feel more like a statement, at least if it would be only Jimin out of the members on that album. The thing is that if Vmin would have something “real” or at least if they are a bit careful with how they come across... I am not sure they would do something too “obvious”. But where such a line would be drawn is impossible to know. I mean clearly they managed to write and sing Friends and it worked fine, even if they did get more attention as a ship.

We also know Tae has been quite loud about Jimin in ways that single him out, so maybe they would really dare push the boundaries as far as actually including Jimin in the album somehow. It’s also very possible there could be other members, and honestly we probably shouldn’t hyper focus too much on it and that it has to mean something no matter if anyone is on it or not.

I think one of the rappers being on it is probably more likely out of the members, but it seems Tae has shown an interest in collabs with people outside of BTS, so that’s kind of what I am expecting the most. No matter who in the group is on it I am sure fans will make a big deal out of it, and maybe Tae would rather have his own thing for his first album. I really don’t know how his thoughts would go.

But again, looking at how Tae and Jimin has talked about working together, and have had moments like Tae promising Jimin a song or Tae saying they will work together again... It’s definitely not impossible to get another Vmin song. I do feel it’s more likely for any connections to be vague and not instantly noticeable though (at least not anything romantic looking because we know what happened to the Christmas song). Especially considering how they have only recently revealed things like 4 clock’s inspiration more openly and had Friends followed by Sweet Night. My main stance for any possible real ship is still that they have reason to be careful, and yet another Vmin collab, on Taehyung’s first personal album would probably raise some eyebrows considering everything else we already have. But it could also be me over analyzing them, and maybe they just really like and want to work together. Tae for sure has after all been vocal about this preference and want to work with Jimin.

So yeah, on one hand they have a track record that is hard to ignore... But on the other I wonder if they might want to add another “point” for ARMY to look at them and their songs. I also don’t want to assume that if there are songs on there that sound romantic that they automatically will be about Jimin. There will have to be legit possible connections for me to acknowledge them.

It’s tricky. I guess we will have to wait and see. I am kind of scared both that there won’t be anything or that there will be SOMETHING. Thank you for the ask, and I hope I shed some light on my thoughts on this subject. Either way I am very excited and looking forward to an album full of Taehyung’s own songs and the stories he wants to tell.

I am not sure it is “lady”, since it’s a bit unclear in general. He also has a part that just seems to go “do be do” and I don’t know if the lyrics are even finished or if he worked with someone else etc. We basically lack a lot of information. But even so using lady/her/she etc. in a song doesn’t have to mean it is about a specific person or that the person is a she or that it is Taehyung’s own feelings (I know he said he usually sings about things he have felt, but just saying it doesn’t always have to be).

Of course I don’t want to downplay it and say it doesn’t mean anything, but considering their fanbase is majority women, they live in a homophobic country and he has even been denied to sing a romantic song with a man before, it’s not impossible to add that to make it more “relatable” or less “gay”. God, that sounds terrible. I don’t want to start discussions where we don’t take their words for what they are, so I hope you might understand my point of view. That being said of course it could just as easily be to or about a specific woman in his life that we don’t know about. Or as you say, he isn’t actually in love but is simply writing love songs that could be inspired by non-romantic relationships or movies etc. as was the case for his inspiration for Winter Bear.

Tae also used “she” in Winter Bear, and that seems a bit forgotten. Or people try to say it has to be about his grandmother... Which we obviously don’t know, it’s just the woman people jump to since he used “she” and many people don’t like the idea of him dating a woman or writing about a woman we don’t know. Either way I think we need to remember that anything is possible and we don’t know them personally and how they think or why they choose to do what they do.

I think we need to remember that there is always going to be the possibility that ships aren’t real, that the romantic songs aren’t about Jimin and that either one of them could be in a relationship with someone else (all genders included).

Ask 3 - Vminies getting superiority complex

Hello! I want to address something that has been bothering me for a while now. I have been seeing some vminnies have a superiority complex just bcoz they ship vmin. Its very rampant among new vminnies and twt vminnies. I get that we all feel validated and happy when out OTP claim to be soulmates and bff. I feel that way too. But people have to remember that vmin are real people and their relationship is dynamic. Like they did grow from bff who used to tease e/o and fight alot to soulmates who are gentle and caring. Who is to say that one day they wont drift apart (i hope not and dont think thats gonna happen but for argument sake) so there is no reason to feel superior or look down on other shippers.

If people think vminnies are superior bcoz they are not toxic they probably know they are lying. Lbr i have seen my share of toxic vminnies though may be a lesser number but they are there and its not the ship but its that particular person who is at fault. While i agree that some ship theories cultivate hate and toxicity there may be people among those ships who are just as sane and good as we claim to be. I just wanted to address this bcoz seeing some vminnies on twt saying locals thinking vmin were tgt after coway add is a validation kind of triggered me. I m sure there would have been similar responses to any other ship bcoz they all have been tgt for a decade and are very comfortable with e/o. I just wanted to talk to someone about this and i know you have discussed similar topics in the past. So yeah this was very long.

First of all, on request I won’t show your name, but thank you for sending me this and letting me know who you are. It’s always nice to know who is behind the question. But that being said I don’t mind people asking on anon, I totally get it being a lot easier to ask or question things when you don’t have to reveal yourself. Either way I am just glad to get interesting and important topics and I do think the things you bring up are worth talking about.

As you say, there is this thing when people start to feel and act superior for various reasons, and I too have seen some Vminies do this. Getting a lot of moments is sure nice. But honestly, just imagine if another ship came and mocked Vmin or gloated every time they got more moments. It has surely happened too, and I am sure it doesn’t feel very nice when on the negative end. Just be a decent human, ship moments will always vary and it’s great to be happy about getting moments, but there is no need to compare or look down on other ships. I say it again, shipping is not a competition, just enjoy your own ship and let others enjoy theirs.

As for feelings superior based on group behavior I think we really need to stop looking at groups and start looking at individuals, both when it comes to groups we are part of and groups we consider “bad”. I have said it many times, but individuals of other groups we don’t agree with won’t all be bad, or all stupid or young etc. We might want to tell ourselves they are worse, but it really doesn’t change much.

Being “less bad” it not a merit and it shouldn’t be a competition. We all have our own selves to answer to and we should judge other people based on their actions and not based on what group they might belong to.

I think size and the toxicity of a narrative can lead to more people in certain groups behaving in toxic ways... But I think any person could happen to fall into these behaviors if not careful and aware. Often the change is gradual too, or you feel attacked by the other “rival group” and thus feel it’s justified to attack back, and so it escalates.

Vminies are at the moment as a group smaller, and thus have less “bad apples”. We likely also have a narrative for Vmin that doesn’t require as toxic mindsets, for example extreme jealousy or Vmin being forced to hide. But there for sure are still toxic Vminies, and there are also a lot of non-toxic shippers in all groups. Usually the louder ones are also the worst ones while the chill and nice will remain in their own lane and ship more peacefully. But being part of a smaller group doesn’t make you superior, your actions is what is important.

As for small moments getting noticed or other types of “validation” for your ship, of course it’s going to feel nice. However, what people see and think of any relationship in BTS is still just an outsider view and literally has no meaning for their actual relationship beyond it being a cute moment. That’s why size and popularity also doesn’t matter as any kind of “proof”. Interpretation will always just be interpretation, good or bad, if you like it or not.

Sadly I think we will get more and more toxic behavior from more ships as the fandom grows and as some things get more normalized within those ships’ communities. It’s about certain behaviors growing into a community culture... The more toxicity that is allowed the more others will follow. That’s why bringing up the problems is important, but trying to do so without shunning people so that they don’t go and create their own space where everyone else is the enemy. After all, being open and welcoming and understanding is much more likely to make someone listen and even change their mind than by attacking them.

I answer for my own actions. So does every person. I don’t want to be judged for everything every Vminie or ARMY or Multi K-pop fan etc. has done. Generalization is a huge problem in general, not just in fandoms or ship wars. I do try to be a positive influence, to not judge too harshly and to remember that being hostile won’t help any situation. But that’s about it. I am glad you brought up this topic, because talking about it is important, but sadly I don’t think there is a lot that can be done about it. Just try to be nice and open minded.

Ask 4 - Not dismissing the bond between Vmin and the other boys

Thank you. I really see no need for it. It’s clear as day that they all love each other, and even if one pair would happen to be romantic instead of platonic that won’t change. We don’t have to compare and we definitely don’t have to downplay the moments they share with each other. All shippers should at the very least accept the the things they do and say as mostly genuine. I trust BTS and what they show us, it’s that easy.

I know some also get influenced by toxic fans, but we really need to remember that no narratives by fans matter when it comes to reality and what bonds BTS share with each other. They are all great people and seem to have such love and respect for each other I frankly don’t understand how you can be a fan if you think any of it is played up to the point some claim.

Likely no ship in BTS is real, but if any is, to me I am sure the ones involved would be happy and supported by the rest of the members. That’s why it doesn’t really matter what ship would be real or not real as long as they are happy. We shouldn’t let our own views and sometimes want or hopes affect the way be judge their reality. This applies for things outside shipping as well.

Ask 5 - Other people’s words can influence your thoughts

Indeed. The brain is a powerful thing. This is very obvious if you are a multi-shipper or a general fan, but BTS truly has a lot of questionable moments between all kinds of pairs. Focus is a interesting thing. If you like something you will notice it more, and you will also remember it more while you forget other moments. Likewise if something is “negative” like a rival ship you are likely to notice them more as well. This happens even if you just watch the general content and get your own bias. Imagine then how it might influence you when others keep repeating either your happy interpretations or things you worry about? You’ll get it stuck in your head and remember it more than other things.

Like isn’t it funny how we might gush about Vmin sharing beds, or worry about ji/kook or tae/kook cuddling while hope/kook literally sleep wrapped around each other in both Bon Voyage 3 and 4? Sometimes it’s all about perspective.

By now we need to realize that fan perspective will influence us a lot. And in particular if a lot of people say it or if it is presented in a way that makes it sound logical and intelligent. Words have power.

I still think using “Vmin is dead” or spreading worry often in itself leads to people thinking it and it being somehow accepted as fact. In similar fashion getting to hear about certain ships or certain narratives will make us notice things in relation to that. My own words and posts too will have influence on some people that read them. That’s why I try to be so careful, and why I try to avoid using strong words or claims that might cement themselves in someone’s mind. (I’ll actually talk more about the power of language in my big analysis as well)

Thank you for your input, it’s definitely an interesting thing to consider and another aspect of why shipping mentality is so complicated.

Ask 6 - Vmin not sharing rooms in Bon Voyage Malta

Hi and yes, I have answered this before HERE, but it’s ok. I know it’s not easy finding old topics amongst my collection posts.

In short I think Vmin wanted to share rooms but that Taehyung got fooled when Jimin stopped him from checking the upper room. Because it seemed like Jimin stopped him from walking into that room by saying he couldn’t peak Tae probably assumed it wasn’t Jimin’s room and that when Jimin said it was his room he was joking (his face was definitely something). So yeah, I think he just got fooled by Jimin’s statement about not being allowed to look inside the room before picking. There are other interesting things about this whole moment, but the one thing we should take away from it is how it is one out of now many examples that seem to show that Vmin have a preference to share rooms/beds. Thank you for the ask. :)

Ask 7 - Has being a Vmin shipper always been so overwhelming with all the content?

I wouldn’t say it’s something recent. I say it often, but we really do get very intense periods from time to time with many of the ships. For example in February 2017 with ISAC, fan signs and everything else we got a lot of Vmin too. I remember being overwhelmed myself, and that was coming out of BST era Vmin. We got many moments every day and that’s just one specific period I can remember.

Over the years sometimes we do get these very intense days or weeks with a lot of moments at once. Usually I get asks like “do you think something is up with Vmin lately” or “wow I can’t believe how much Vmin we have gotten lately” but really, it’s hard to tell, because it really does happen from time to time. I also still say we always get Vmin moments regularly as long as we get BTS content, but sometimes a bit more and sometimes less. I am sure there will be more times when we also get “Vmin is dead“ and worried people because we get less moments than they expect. It just happens, up and down and around it goes.

As for what ships are big I will definitely say Ji/kook and Tae/kook are the biggest, but that all BTS ships are big by now. Meaning as soon as we do get moments it will be seen online. Especially if you follow people who talk about it of course. I also think what platform you are on can result in some ships being seen more than others. For example I know ji/kook is by far the biggest BTS ship here on Tumblr while Youtube seems to have more tae/kookers.

Ask 8 - “Just a friend” interview

Ah yes, I have a bit of a soft spot for this interview myself. I am not sure, but I think it might be from 2017 (since Tae wrote a birthday letter to Jimin in 2016), or at least that’s when I found it and saved it down. I haven’t actually tracked the original source. You can find the translation in the link shared HERE, credits to @95z.

Seeing this close after the chaos of Let’s BTS and other letter confessions it really does seem very cringe for them to express sincere thoughts in these more formal ways. I can’t blame them.

I do think this interview is yet another example of how much Vmin has tried to adapt to each other, learn and be more open with expressing how they feel. They literally inspire and learn from each other in how to express themselves. Isn’t it completely endearing?

I also love how they get each other to feel strong emotions and how they are there for each other when in need. On a slightly more analytical note I also can’t help but note the “just a friend” vs “soulmate” descriptions and how they seem to have a hard time putting it into proper words. We already know this of course, but yeah... They really don’t have an easy time describing their relationship.

Thank you so much for sharing this moment. I was going to talk about it in my big analysis anyways, but honestly I can’t save everything for it, and you mentioned it so who am I to keep it to myself.

Ask 9 - The garnet necklace

Oh yeah, I know that JK wore it once and that the talk was that a fan gave it to all of maknae line. Not much was ever confirmed from what I know, but regardless it doesn’t change why I think it’s a Vmin/soulmate necklace and why I see it as special.

Here is the thing, when I use “Vmin thing” it really doesn’t have to be exclusive. To me it’s the context around it and how they have used it and even reacted to it that makes the garnet necklace something special for Vmin. In the case of the soulmate necklace Vmin wore it a lot. Almost constantly during a big part of 2017 and even a bit into 2018. They also wore it at the same time a lot. I find this very cute, and we all know “couple items” is something all fans enjoy even if it would just be a platonic relationship behind it. But if both of them wearing it was all there was, as a lot of Vmin sharing clothes (or BTS in general sharing clothes) I wouldn’t really think too much about it beyond it being cute. It could still be just a cute thing that Vmin did, but I personally see it as something beyond the normal clothes/jewelry sharing.

(At the very least you can remember Vmin did this while people thought their relationship was dead, which doesn’t make much sense to do if you hate or dislike someone.)

The things I find more noteworthy about this necklace is the fact that the fandom picked up on it and because they wore it so much and so often at the same time it was dubbed the “soulmate necklace”. Possibly knowing this Tae also brought specific attention to the necklace at two times, as if wanting to show it off. Interestingly enough, in one of these times Jimin seemed to ignore Taehyung who was bringing attention to it on purpose. For me it came across as another thing Taehyung wanted to show off and that Jimin was a bit more careful about.

Of course I could have read it wrong, maybe Jimin just misunderstood. But even so, Tae did bring attention to it in specific relation to Jimin. You can watch the clip HERE. (BTS Tell Us What They Love About Each Other & An Update On Tony & Nate From America Hustle Life)

The other time was in Run ep. 39, right after Vmin talked about being in school together and showing off their school uniforms. If Tae is the one to try and highlight something, I feel it likely has some meaning to him at least.

Either way the necklace is basically a symbol of Vmin’s relationship and the fact that they liked it so much and wore it together during a long period I think they liked wearing it not only because they both happened to like the design but because they both had it. If JK also had one and didn’t use it of course it could include him, but I will still say it remains significant for Vmin’s bond with each other.

As for buying a necklace together they haven’t talked about this one in particular, but Tae did mention he bought his tiger necklace with Jimin in NY, so maybe you are mixing the two things up?

Ask 10 - Vmin in CMs

Thank you for loving my blog and for the ask! :) I am not sure if you perhaps meant in a lot of BTS own photoshoots/units as well, but I’ll focus on CMs in this post since that was your direct example. I might go a bit beyond here, but I saw it as a good chance to revisit some Vmin ad moments.

I wouldn’t personally say we have gotten “way more” but I do think because of their Friends unit they got to do some more interviews together and some CM stuff too. I also think we have gotten more BTS commercials in general now, likely because it’s an income alternative to touring during the pandemic. So that obviously means more CMs, and more chances for them to be paired up. They also have gotten paired with others of course (like in the Bodyfriend CM or Baskin Robbins), but most commonly they aren’t divided in smaller groups at all.

We also have gotten Vmin paired up before, both in photoshoots and in CMs. Of course we saw some great ones in 2016 with Puma and NUGU, but I don’t think we got that much more in 2016 and before than in 2017-2019. I think what we can see is BTS having more endorsements after Covid.

Like honestly, the Puma adds are iconic. Of course the original one, but also the revisits from 2018. Puma definitely seemed to like to pair Vmin in particular. (There are so many good examples from Puma that I’m not including)

We also got a snippet in the Hyundai one, also from 2018.

Another snippet from the Coconut Chicken ad from 2017.

I mean, I don’t know if I should count the snippets at all, like from BTS x VT cosmetics in 2019, but I feel sometimes just being seen in the same frame seems to get attention as being paired up so. (I decided to not include being together when it’s at least a third member in the frame)

And guys... Have you ever watched BTS and the milk song?

What did we get so far more recently? In 2020 we had the Hyundai interview.

Fila provided a nice one, also from 2020.

Samsung gave us a snippet recently.

Coway was basically couple goals and like the best one in my own opinion (besides Puma because it is going to take a lot to beat Puma).

But other than that? I don’t think we have seen it that much, have we? I am not complaining or anything, like I am happy with what we got, but I don’t know if it’s that much. I might forget some obvious ones, but these were the ones I had top of mind. Feel free to add ads if you can think of more recent ones that I left out.

So I think we have gotten more BTS ads in general, also more where they are not all of them or single focus, and that we have seen maybe Vmin getting paired a little more after Friends. But to me there is such a small difference I can’t really say if it is anything particular to Vmin or just BTS doing more CMs.

I mean, I don’t have a sheet of who has been paired with who and how many times over the years. But either way I don’t think we should look too deeply into things like CMs or even photoshoots units. Thanks for the ask though, I hope you enjoyed this mini collection. :)

Ask 11 - Taehyung uncomfortable about shipping/tae*kook?

So this is a thought sent in after THIS ASK though it really brings up a new subject, which is that of Tae possibly being uncomfortable with shipping. As for Tae saying that to a tae/kooker in particular I think we have to remember it could very easily just have been in the moment and we can’t know why he decided to reply to that person in particular.

The Vmin post was not invasive and it wasn’t romantic. I mean, I do think Tae keeps showing again and again that if there is any person in BTS that is special to him it’s Jimin. But the difference in the posts also likely matters, but we can’t know how much. We don’t know if Tae would feel annoyed if a Vminie wrote the same thing as the tae/kooker did, and we don’t know if it was just in that moment that he got fed up with the shipping discourse in general, or if it was because it was tae/kook.

Honestly any shipper, regardless if a ship would eventually prove to be real or not, should not go and invade spaces where the boys get exposed to it. We don’t know if Taehyung would have reacted in a similar way if it happened to be another ship.

Personally I don’t think tae/kook drifted apart as a result of shipping, because honestly they still kept being pretty intimate physically and engaged in fanservice on stage etc. If they truly were uncomfortable with the idea I just don’t think they would “feed it” much at all. I think as they said in ITS they just, kind of changed and it became harder to talk. I’ve talked more about tae/kook and my views on their bond in THIS POST and a little in THIS POST as well as about BTS possible stance on shipping HERE.

I also think all of BTS has a pretty good distance from hate and fandom speculations in general. I think that because they know about shipping and partly also feed into it they probably expect crazy people to some degree as well, even if they probably don’t like it. Hetero shippers as well, or solo stans etc. have very toxic behaviors at times, but I think BTS can recognize that it is kind of “bound to happen” with their popularity, no matter what they do about it. Not saying they would like it, and they could definitely feel awkward or annoyed because of it, but it doesn’t seem to bother them too much as I think they can detach themselves from it pretty well.

I also think “fan opinions” in form of rival shipping wouldn’t really harm a hidden couple as it first would likely be a sort of “shield” and second because they have their relationships and are likely comfortable with them on their own terms. What fans think is probably secondary.

It is possible that they could get annoyed or frustrated at times, but again, if they truly felt bothered by it they probably wouldn’t do a lot of the things they do. Because I am sure they are aware to some degree that fans scrutinize their every move and ship moments. Both Tae and Jimin are some of the most physical out of the members, and also some of the members that seem to like to initiate fanservice moments... So I doubt they would have much problem and can feel secure enough in their relationship no matter what fans think.

Ask 12 - What did Jimin write on his shirt in Run ep. 53?

Hi, I guess you got curious after I talked about this episode recently in my post Ask: Reply - 2021.03.30 (Ask 8 - Going down the rabbit hole, micromoments and shipping vs believing).

I don’t know hangul, but I do know what “Jimin” looks like. On Jimin’s shirt from behind the scenes of Run ep. 53 you can see he’s written his own name “지민” Jimin followed by what looks to be “ 님 “ which is nim. So basically the text on the container in the picture says Sir Jimin.

Jimin seemed very keen on writing his name on both his own shirt and on Tae’s and even tried on JK’s. He failed of course, but he sure did try.

Ask 13 - Gina Maeng ask follow up

Glad you liked my reply. :) (From Ask: Reply - 2021.03.30 Ask 4 - Idols dating members of the same group). Yeah I get what you mean, talking about it openly I suppose isn’t so normal. But since it seems to be more and more fans who assume it happens to some degree maybe it’s not so strange if it starts getting more talked about as well. I’ll take it as a good sign, even if the information is nothing new in itself, being more open is going to make it easier for fans to realize it’s possible for their idols to be LGBT+ or have hidden relationships.

As for K-Population it doesn’t seem to be too well known, but it’s one of few actual examples to be found. So yeah, interesting that we know it has happened, and also that it shows what risks it could mean to get involved with a group member. I think the risk of a falling out is something a lot of shippers tend to forget. Anyways, thank you for your reply. ^_^

Ask 14 - Vmin’s love is beautiful (and so much nice praise omg)

But really, we can all just watch Vmin in awe and be happy they have each other and feel such immense love for each other, no matter what that love is. It’s kind of amazing. Oh boy. Essay time.

How I feel about this character: I’m going to come right out and say it: I kin the little bastard, so my feelings are complicated.

He’s a fantastic character. It’s taken me a long time to get to the point where I’m happy to say that (you’d think I’d be all for him from the beginning given I’ve had this URL for months, but no - that development came maybe sometime last month).

On the surface he’s an extremely weird, nervous homebody who’s kind and helpful and likes things Just So and is astoundingly gay and oblivious, but he’s got a cynical practicality to him and a steel core that’s easy to miss if you’re not looking. Even if he’s got a lot of strange ideas (plenty of which I am sure are outright wrong), they’re canonically not totally unfounded. He gets a lot right, more than most characters I think, even if the angle he’s coming at things from is off, and I think the presentation of him as odd and irrational is partially for laughs and partially because the devs were trying not to give the game away while still laying the foundations for endgame content (everyone I’ve streamed for has been totally blindsided by the post-credits stinger, and it’s beautiful).

There’s a lot of depth to him we just get hints of, and even if it’s not all down to Grumpinati Meddling, Snorpy has canonically Gone Through It and yet fundamentally his greatest motivation that he gleaned from this is keeping his loved one(s) safe, even to the point it became a vice, and that’s incredible.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Chandlo, naturally! I could ship him with some others - mostly the Journalist - but Snorpy and Chandlo are a package deal and I think anyone else involved would have to be okay with both that and the understanding Chandlo will always come first in Snorpy’s eyes.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Floofty, the Journalist, Lizbert. All at once. He’s got a fair few relationships outside Chandlo - the trouble is that one is a really complicated and difficult relationship at the point of canon, one tends to be dismissed since people (reasonably) like to perceive the Journalist as just an audience insert (which I have Opinions about as well, but this is about Snorpy), and the other is missing, presumed dead. Awkward.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Buckle up. I’ve got a list.

Blessedly people are realising this, but he is absolutely not skinny and seeing him drawn thin gives me hives. He’s probably one of the roundest grumps in the game, perhaps only after Eggabell, who is An Egg.

He isn’t particularly shy. He’s wary around people, but that’s different - he just doesn’t give out his trust easily. With people he isn’t extremely attached to and afraid of losing, he’s pretty forthright about what he thinks and what he wants.

Hello, obnoxious ‘uke’ stereotype from the late ‘00s and early ‘10s! I haven’t missed you. He’s an absolutely useless homosexual and he’s mostly very polite, yes, but he’s FAR from helpless and, like I said, he’s not afraid to outright tell people what to do.

HAVE HIM LOOK OUT FOR AND LOOK AFTER PEOPLE, IT’S ABOUT 80% OF HIS DEAL

I mean, come on, he’s practically carrying Snaxburg along with Chandlo in the end. He’s taking charge, giving out orders and upgrading and distributing tools. He’s afraid of a lot of things, but all that is totally trumped by his care for others when the chips are down.

Is no one going to talk about the fact that he put together a machine that fucking blends snax through remote control, just because? He wasn’t even sure he was going to use it? He nearly put knives on the trip shot? What the fuck else is he doing in that cabin?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Oh, grump, I have to pick one? Uh. Actual scene where he makes up with Chandlo, and explains what’s been going on. It’d do double duty of tying up that loose end in a way we can see and give us a deeper look into his backstory.

Heck with it, I’ll cheat: even a single scene with him and some of the other characters who aren’t totally willing to trust that everything is fine discussing how incredibly shady Snaktooth is.

My OTP: Snorplo. Obviously.

My OT3: Snorpy/Chandlo/Journalist. They’re a trio of paranormal investigators.

hello gay people may i offer u a few humble sakuatsu fic recs to celebrate the boys making it into the top 50 ao3 ships? ok thanks. (none of these fics have heavy angst because i simply can't handle that lmao)

sakusa pov getting together fic, deals with sakusa's mysophobia and it a beautiful portrayal of his internal struggles. they take it slow, atsumu is so loving and understanding, it's just a very sweet fic overall.

san'yō expressway: 6:17pm by yamabato (8k)

atsumu and sakusa have a long car ride together following a disastrous first kiss, can they talk to each other and move forward? who knows ;) so beautifully written i could actually write a whole essay on the symbolism in the writing, one of those fics that feels like poetry it's so gorgeous.

home is the fear you're made with by metaandpotatoes (3k)

short and sweet fic about sakusa learning to let atsumu into his life. generally a feel good fic in which we get to see sakusa overcome some of his anxieties about being in a relationship. (also the first part of a series!)

just let me adore you by awkwardedgeworth (67k)

to all the boys i've loved before au!!! this fic works so much better than i originally thought it would, and it deals really interestingly in thoughts of the future and what one leaves behind when they leave to pursue their dreams. sakusa pov, but atsumu's struggles are portrayed so heartbreakingly relatable that it felt like you were seeing right into his head.

oh so by hatsuna (1.5k)

every hatsuna fic is gorgeously written, and this little addition to their collection is just as satisfying as true longer works. they manage to pack so much emotion and depth into a short story. sakusa has trichotillomania, and he and atsumu learn to navigate it together. they write some of my favorite atsumu characterization because, as always, he is a brat, but a brat who knows how to be gentle and respectful of sakusa's boundaries.

liminal spaces by hatsuna (26k)

i will only stop talking about hatsuna when they stop writing gorgeous fics that make me want to cry in the best way. atsumu pov (!!) as he navigates his feelings for sakusa and does his damn best to avoid them entirely. wonderful characterization, and the relationship between the twins is funny and heartwarming. this story simply radiates love and has a very satisfying arc.

your highs and lows series by astroeulogy (39k)

i couldn't pick a single fic from this series so i picked all of them lmao. as of right now it is 6 stories all under 10k, and they write both sakusa and atsumu pov. its post-timeskip and has all the fun of the typical MSBY hijinks as well as an achingly tender dose of yearning from both parties. sakusa is incredibly straightforward, atsumu is emotionally stunted, and they love each other very much. i cannot recommend enough.

Sakuatsu and Kagehina Oneshot

Just like always Hinata went the bathroom before the match today and well he didn't expect he would run into Kageyama.

'It's been so long since we have been together.'

He thought to himself trying to not get upset before the match against the boy that stood over him. "Hey buttward! Had a fun time in Rio?" Kageyama scowled down at his boyfriend who was wearing a different uniform from him.

"Yeah, heaps, made some friends saw Oikawa-San, and played some volleyball with him and I was getting better then you'll ever be." Hinata childishly poked his tongue out at the other. Kageyama growled leaning down to get into Hinata's face. "Yeah we'll see about that after the match, when I win! Shortcake!" Kageyama couldn't help but smack himself in the head, when he said that, because Hinata stood back looking up at him, with a light pink in his cheeks shocked at what he had said with out thinking. 'I know I missed him but, argh why did I call him Shortcake like some adorable pet name. Stop looking at me with those sparkling Amber eyes.'

Kageyama could feel the heat raise into his cheeks especially when Hinata responds with. "Well, you will see when I beat your ass on the court, Blueberry eyes!" Hinata shouts then cursed his brain under his breath. That made Kageyama hold his hands to his face.

'Arh he gave me a pet name too now! How are we gonna be okay playing today if this keeps up.' Kageyama growled turn away from Hinata. Suddenly he saw on of his Teammates running toward them and he panicked a bit trying to run away until he called out. "Kageyama-Kun let's go Ushijima's looking for you." Hoshiumi one of Kageyama' s teammates called out and Jumped in excitement when seeming Hinata.

"Hey The Little giant!" Hinata sprung up in the air forgetting about the moment just before. The seagull looking boy met up and gave Hinata slap on the back. "Yo, if it isn't the Greatest Decoy! We're gonna win today y'hear!" Hoshiumi laughed at Hinata's next response. "No way! We are I'll prove it!" he said smiling with determinations fire flicking in his eyes. "Well we should go then, you said Ushijima-Kun was looking for me." Kageyama interrupted the two small balls of energy. They waved to each other claiming they would be the ones to win until they couldn't see each other any more. Nice know how determined they were.

*Time skip - after the Match, Sakuatsu - Lemons Below*

MSBY Black jackals vs Schweiden ADLERS.

The match was over, They won.

The adrenalin from the game was still rushing through their bodies when they made the hazy not so rational decision to walk off the closest bathrooms together. To "Celebrate" as the piss blonde hair teammate said the man, afraid of germs and always wore a mask unless playing a match.

Some would say looking at how fast the walked to the bathrooms that they were a bit eager for it. Sakusa held the door open for the other to walk in and let the door close before he grabbed Atsumu by the collar, and slammed him to the wall. One hand next to the other head as he leaned in closer to close the gap between them, his hot breath on Atsumu's lips sent a tingle down his spine. He wanted to him already. Breathing heavily from the anticipation he felt of them closer then they had ever been and the little voice in Sakusa's head saying they might get caught if they did this now. He decided to ignore the voice in his head, and listened to his instinct to ravish the man below him. Atsumu was stuck between the wall and the sexy smirking Sakusa who pushed himself to finally land his lips on Atsumu's.

It was calm for a moment before Atsumu reached his arms up and hooked them around Sakusa's neck desperately deepening the kiss. Atsumu's mouth opened enough for Sakusa to then stick his wet tongue in and let him explore Atsumu's mouth for the first time. Atsumu's hands reached up into Sakusa's curls, as their mouth both started moving together, slowly it became a tongue fight, grunts and heavy breaths, and drooping eyes that had become blurred vision. Sakusa's hands lost grip of Atsumu's collar and he let them make their way down to Atsumu's hips pulling him in closer. Cotch to crotch Atsumu let his moan fill the air and catching his breath before smashing their back together. Sakusa growled hearing his beautiful voice like he never had before. Hungry for more, his tongue trailed its way down from Atsumu's lips to the nape of his neck.

Atsumu let out another moan as his neck was shocked with pleasure, throwing his head back. The grip on Sakusa's hair grew tighter as he sucked and grazed his teeth over the spot on Atsumu's neck. If they were in a stable mindset he would have stopped Sakusa before the peach of skin bruised. But they weren't so he didn't say anything. Sakusa's hands greedily held Atsumu's hips, slipping up into Atsumu's shirt and a slipped up and pinched his nipples, that were getting harder. As a result of this Atsumu's hips bucked towards Sakusa's. Clearly eager for more friction when they could feel each other's erctions forming. They were so caught up in the heat of the moment that they didn't hear the argument going on outside the door, until it opened and two familiar faces came in passionately making out up against the other wall. It took a moment for them to realise who they were. Shocked they stared at the others too.

They notice each other, and all four of them were blasted with fully red faces. "Uh. Sho-chan?" Atsumu questioned staring at the other two, who gulped with eyes wide. "Uh. We should go somewhere else then." Kageyama whispered and Hinata took his hand leading them out, "Sorry, Omi-kun, Tsumu-kun." he apologised as the both bolted out together. "I always knew you were the bottom Tsumu-kun!" Hinata yelled as they ran out laughing. Atsumu looked up at Sakusa still pinning him to the wall. "You can pummel him later for that." Sakusa smirked after gaining some stability. Leaning in to continue, before they had gotten interrupted.

*Meanwhile Back to Kagehina - you are safe now*

Once they had found another empty bathroom, look in before losing themselves to each other. They get a bit to close up in each other face. "Hinata. I missed you so much." Kageyama kissed his neck gently. "Uh, Kageyama. I love you." Kageyama stared down at Hinata with a teary eye, he took His hands pushing them out of the way of the door and up against the wall, making the shorter of the two gasp heat raised to his face. "I can't hold his back any more." Kageyama whispered before leaning down and pressing their lips together.

Tomas walks in. "Sho-chan? Isn't he from the team we just won against?" The both of them look awkwardly at Tomas, staring blank faced ."Uh, yeah but he was my boyfriend first." Hinata glances at Kageyama blushing. "Tomas, you can't tell anyone else about this okay."

"Sorry the whole team already knows now." Tomas said with his phone out, Kageyama's eye widen in worry. "God damn it Tomas." Hinata looks up to the ceiling, groaning in annoyance. Tomas just went on his business as Hinata and Kageyama walked out. "Sorry the moods gone. And you have to come meet everyone or they'll be bugging me for months." Hinata says pulling Kageyama out of the bathroom with him, without a single bit of worry. "You sure we should do that?" Kageyama asked their hands held together as they walked down the hall. "Well no, but yes. It's about time anyways. They all knew I had a boyfriend and have wanting to meet him since." Hinata said casually, turning his head he smiled up at him.

Kageyama only nodded in response. They walked in a comfortable silence till they got to the locker room of Hinata's team. "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hinata is this your boyfriend Tomas told us about." Bokuto I called at him as they entered the room. "Bokuto-Kun you already knew about Kageyama since High school." Hinata yells back, and everyone including Akaashi who was there, stared at them. "Akaashi too." Kageyama pointed out. "Yes hello Kageyama-Kun." Akaashi sit by Bokuto waved at them, Kageyama waves back.

"Why am I not surprised Bokuto-Kun already knew and didn't tell us." Inunaki rolled his eyes packing his dirty uniform into his bag. "You can't expect my to remember something that I only knew about briefly after 5 years." Bokuto argued his point of view. "Sho-chan why? He's on the other team." Barnes plead to his fellow team mate in the mist of changing. "He was my boyfriend first Barnes-kun! Like I said since high school." he started walking in the room still holding Kageyama's hand. "It's just coincidence he happened to be on the team we faced today." he finished.

"Well now that's over, do you know where Sakusa and Miya went, coach said they weren't answering his texts." one of Hinata's teammates said. Hinata looked up to Kageyama with a knowing look, the both of knew and they stared at each other thinking.

'Should we tell them what we saw?'

Kageyama grinned evilly. "Making out in the bathrooms, on the west side." He says casually, Hinata then giggles mercilessly. "You won't believe it! Atsumu-kun is the bottom."

Then from the door there was a loud gasp. "Sho-chan how could you!" the surprisingly high pitched an girly screech came from Atsumu with Sakusa just behind him. "Wow, that's a freshly marked Hickey huh? You were right Sho-chan." everyone laughed when Atsumu's face was fully red and started chasing Hinata around, even Sakusa chuckled a bit. Then he noticed Kageyama, and stopped, when Kageyama saw him too. The both of them had become a bit embarrassed. After all that Atsumu was on the floor tired and Hinata just laughed and started getting changed after Kageyama and Akaashi made their leave.
