Saying that the end of the race was a disappointment was an understatement. For the past eight years, it only felt like the world was out to get you.

The constant criticism, misogyny, the occasional car failures, Lance Stroll's grotesque driving skills, and now, Lando winning his first Grand Prix but with the cost of you losing your position due to a shitty strategy mistake. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Being in love with Lando has its ups and downs. And as of right now? A hard low. As his partner, you want to kiss him all over his sunkissed face, going over each birthmark with tenderness. Congratulate him. Tell him how proud you are of him for finally achieving what he has been aiming for years. Ruffle those chestnut curls that you love dearly as you both stand on the podium, covered in sticky champagne as the fizzy liquid cascades over you, creating a tingling sensation on your skin you both embrace, the rainbows of confetti dancing in the air to the ground, trophy in his hands.

Yet, as a driver, you despise him. That haunting smile that glances over now and then, that sterling silver trophy dazzling in the light, blinding you as if it were the shining teeth of someone laughingly mocking you. God, how you hated it.

After closing the door to the driver's room, you swiftly remove the carbon fiber helmet, peeling off the balaclava that clings to my face, leaving my hair matted against my skin. With a surge of frustration, you glance angrily at the helmet before flinging the helmet to the ground, the sound reverberating through the room. Your breathing quivers as you gaze at the floor before ultimately slumping against the wall adjacent to the door, back against it. Running a hand through your damp hair, you rub my temple, feeling the weight of the day's events.

How did you get to this point? 

“Where in the world have you been, you muppet? You just up and left after the national anthems.” Lando's voice broke you out of your trance as he stood by the door, remembering you didn't lock the door. "I didn't even get to spray the champagne on you like usual." He adds with a frown.

"Not now, Lando." You stated looking down at your hands as you picked the skin around your nails to cope. His face still held a frown, yet he raised a brow at your tone.

"Not now?" He repeats, almost confused by your comment. "What's wrong? Talk to me."

"I said not now, Lando," You repeat, my voice growing more insistent. "I just need some space right now."

Lando's expression softens as he takes a step closer, concern evident in his eyes. "Hey, come on. You can talk to me. I know today didn't go as planned, but we can work through this together." 

My frustration boils over, and I finally look up to meet his gaze. "You don't get it, do you? This could have been my chance. My chance to finally prove that I belong here. Actually- no, not me, but every woman. That we won't be not some- some girls here for some representation to make F1 seem better but to show that we belong here! That we are as good as men! And that shitty strategy screwed me over, and now it seems like I am a shit driver..." You snap in exasperation.

“I never tried to say that I understand.” Lando glared. His expression hardens, and he takes a step back, hurt evident in his eyes. "You know that's not true. You're an incredibly talented driver, and one bad race doesn't define you."

You scoff, feeling the weight of his words but unable to fully accept them. "Easy for you to say. This ‘one bad race’ has been multiple races. You've had your moment of glory today. You got the lavish celebration you’ve been wanting.“

Lando shakes his head, his frustration creeping into his voice. "This isn't about me. It's about us! I want you to succeed just as much as I want to succeed. We’re a team, even if we are on other racing teams. But pushing me away and shutting me out won't solve anything. What’s with all this?“

“Don’t you get it, Lando?! You’re perfect now! You have fans who love you, you have a secure seat, and you have a win now Lando! All you need is a championship! You don’t have people telling you that you don’t belong here because you have talent. You have people who support you even when your team makes a stupid mistake and they still defend you! The second I do something wrong, even when it's team orders, I'm belittled and told to go back to do my "role" as a housewife! God, I can't even get time to be with my boyfriend or friends before getting screamed at by middle-aged men that I'm a 'grid fucker' and that I had sex to get to where I am!"

Lando’s face falls at your words, a mix of offense and hurt flashing in his eyes. “You think I don’t understand pressure? I get it, alright? I get that it’s different for you, and it’s unfair. But pushing everyone away, pushing me away, isn’t the answer.”

You stand up, your body tense with the weight of your frustration and sadness. “I’m not pushing you away, Lando. I’m trying to cope with the fact that no matter what I do, it’s never enough. And seeing you succeed, seeing everyone praise you, it just… it just makes it harder.”

Lando steps closer, his voice softer now. “I want to help you, but I can’t if you won’t let me in. We’re supposed to be in this together. Isn’t that what we promised each other?”

You look at him, your heart aching at the sight of his earnest expression. “It’s not that simple. I can’t keep pretending that everything’s okay when it’s not. And I can’t stand beside you, smiling, when I feel like I’m drowning.”

He reaches out to touch your arm, but you pull away. “Please, don’t. I need to find my way through this, Lando. And I can’t do that if I’m constantly comparing myself to you.”

Lando’s eyes widen with realization. “You’re breaking up with me.”

A lump forms in your throat, tears welling up. “Don't put it like that..” I start. Lando tries to talk but I beat him to it. "I'm... not necessarily breaking up with you. It's more of a... "Goodbye"."

"That's technically still breaking up with me," Lando mutters, a tiny, barely noticeable smile cracking through onto his lips at the light attempt at a joke to ease the growing tension. I let out a tearful giggle.

Lando’s smile crumples into a frown and he takes a shaky breath. “I love you. I don’t want to lose you.”

“You aren't losing me... I love you too,” you whisper, your voice breaking. “But right now, love isn’t enough. I need to stand on my own two feet, without always feeling like I’m in your shadow.”

He looks away, blinking rapidly, trying to hide the growing tears in his greenish-blue eyes. “This isn’t how I wanted today to end. I wanted today to be happy. For us both.”

“Neither did I,” you say softly, placing a hand on his cheek, moving his head to look at you while you skim your fingers over his birthmarks. “But sometimes, things don’t go as planned.”

There’s a long, painful silence between you, filled with all the things left unsaid. Finally, Lando nods, his eyes shining with unshed tears, leaning over to press a tender kiss onto your forehead. 

“Goodbye, then,” Lando whispers. 

In response, you bend forward, placing your lips against his own, kissing him softly, both our lips brushing lightly as if savoring the moment for what may be the last time experiencing such a feeling.

“Goodbye.” You replied, voice narrowly above a whisper.

After eating his toast, he then made a move for work, sighing as he got in the Jujustsu High doors.

𝐈 𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 the sign, now reading "𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍" in green. I had just finished making the pastries. A few customers rolled in, making me put on a big smile, despite how tired I was. It was almost time for nanami to finish at the school. he did mention yesterday he'll come by to collect some bread and you.

A few hours roller past, One customer in particular, stood out. He was a tall man, broad shoulders, a black blindfold, white hair and that very familiar uniform.

He was familiar. Nanami showed me a picture of him and called him 'Gojo', also labeling him as 'annoying'. So this is the man flooding my husbands phone. Strange behaviour, I must say.

"Hiya! Good morning! What can I get ya?" I say, the usual phrase I use.

"Hey, do you make kikufifu?" Gojo asked, a grin sliding onto his face.

"Sure do! Just not at the moment though as I don't have it in today. Sorry about that! Can I get you something else?" I proposed, interlocking my fingers with a small smile.

"You're Nanamins's wife, right?" So he does know nanami. Interesting.

"Mhm! I'm assuming you are.. Goyo? Goko?"

"Its gojo.. but I can let silly mistakes slide for a pretty girl like you. Actually forget that. Call me satoru."

I smiled a bit. "Why thank you, Satoru. but seriously, what can I get you?" I asked, I really wanted to get this over with. Don't get me wrong, Gojo seems nice and he is attractive, but im not unfaithful, and I think nanami is cuter anyway...

"Eh, it's fine, I'll come in tomorrow for that mochi, sweet cheeks. Just worry about getting that kikufifu ready for me, just the way I like it. Little Baker girl." He smirked and ruffled my head.

Who does this man think he is? He just got confirmation that I am married, with his co-worker. My eye twitched in frustration, I can't get mad at my customers.

"Oi, what do you think you're doing, Gojo? Get your hands off my wife. I'd appreciate if you don't call her nicknames aswell." A familiar voice called out through the small bakery. A firm, slightly veiny hand clutched onto Gojo's shoulder. The hand had a very, familiar watch, the one you gifted to a certain someone.

Gojo chucked before turning around. A cheeky grin plastered on his face.

"I was just about to leave, no need to get your pants in a twist! I'll leave you two lovebirds at it yeah?" Gojo says, before waving his hand, still, with that still cheeky smile.

Nanami sighed. Now that Gojo was would of thr way, you could see Nanami's face. His perfectly plucked eyebrows was furrowed and his jaw was clenched. He gritted his teeth a bit. You weren't gonna lie, you rubbed your thighs together a bit.

"I'm sorry about him darling. He can- no.. is a menace. I'll talk to him when I get back to the school." Nanami muttered, plastering a kiss on your forehead. Your cheeks dusted a pink before you got the bread Nanami likes and out it on the counter.

Putting it in the bag, slipping in a few sweet treats, you handed him the bag and gave him a kiss on the lips. He wore a small smile.

"Thank you dear. You are only 𝑴𝒀 Baker girl, right?"

i had a thought before ; what would happen if most cod characters shared a huge bed together? so here are my headcannons on how i think it'd go! it's not realistic & it's all in good fun, no need to get aggressive☺i included as many as i could. reblogs & likes are always appreciated 💗

soap: kept tossing his leg onto ghost the entire night without noticing it. before he fell asleep, he kept making stupid jokes with gaz who was on the other side until price told them to be quiet and that "people are trying to sleep"

ghost: probably snored like a cow the whole night. he would snore, take a long pause then continue. he tossed soaps leg off of him even whilst he was asleep because it was bothering him. got stuck in the middle

price: played candy crush on full brightness so the person next to him was blinded (roach🙁) . fell asleep with his phone unlocked and dropped it on his face like 5 times. when his phone flung off the bed, he blamed gaz for "hiding it from him". he was on the edge and it was just on the floor.

roach: slept like a baby and slept early on. deep sleeper and literally didn't hear any of the commotion going on around him. soap thought it'd be funny to put his hand into water and make him pee himself, then realised he'd pee the bed. the whole night he was paranoid roach would randomly pee (he never did, it didn't work)

gaz: giggled and laughed the whole night as everyone kept saying "shut up gaz!". a surprisingly deep sleeper and drooled onto his pillow and accidently cuddled the person next to him. he definitely sleeps with his mouth open.

valeria: purposely kept getting up to piss everyone off, then would say "i'm just thirsty." but, she ended up really needing to pee in the middle of the night and pushed the sleeping people out of the way, waking them all up accidently

graves: kept smacking his mouth and making them saliva noises as he turned away from everyone else and tried to sleep. "Cut. It. Out." he just repeated, still turned away from everyone else when they'd act up. however the person next to him (poor logan) was NOT safe. he kept accusing him of touching his back as he'd randomly jolt and say things like; "I know it was you touchin' my back buddy." (it was literally just the tag from his shirt)

logan: put his headphones in and tried to listen to some music but everyone around him could hear everything from those cheap ass headphones. but he refused to put the volume down. he told them to "thank him for them listening to such good music". soon fell asleep at a reasonable time, one of the only sane ones.

makarov: made everyone sleep on the couch or floor.

laswell: kept wiggling away from everyone to get as much space as possible. asked to be on the edge so she could have the nightstand. she kept waking up just to take sips of water then go back to sleep

keegan: literally kicked everybody off the bed and tried hogging the blanket for himself just to get a rise out of y'all. was the one to tickle people's legs with his feet then act like he didn't know who did it.

rudy: kept trying to politely ask everyone to quiet down but no one listened to him. he kept putting his pillow around his ears dramatically so they would get the hint.

farah: one of the ones who fell asleep last. she purposely did that because sleeping after everyone else has slept makes her feel comfortable knowing everyone's okay. she stopped gaz and soap from drawing on prices face.

alejandro: everyone turned away from him since he was the only one just wearing boxers and nothing else and they didn't wanna invade his privacy but he literally didn't care. kept mumbling things in his sleep with his face in the pillow and sort of creeped everyone out because at first they thought they were hearing things.

krueger: had to take melatonin to fall asleep but he forgot just how much coffee he had drank earlier in the day so he got up in the middle of the night to go puke. snored pretty loud too

hesh: kept asking if he could bring riley onto the bed and everyone said no, obviously. the pjs he wore had SO much dog hair on it someone had to supply him a spare shirt. was a reasonable person, talked a little then fell asleep. good person to sleep next to

horangi: despised sleeping next to hesh. all that dog hair made his eyes red and itchy. but he was very organized and gave everyone specific spots to sleep in. kept fixing the blankets and assured everyone was comfortable and anytime someone kicked the blanket off, he'd put it right back on them, not considering they might be hot

nikto: his big ass helmet kept clanking against the headboard and irritating everybody but no one dared to say anything about it. he tossed around a lot and kept waking up since he's a light sleeper

konig: he kept tossing around like a rotisserie chicken and took up a good quarter of the bed. pretty soft snorer and wasn't too loud but accidently kept getting into peoples spaces and just breathing onto them

(By which I mean "I hold it to be true because the authors wanted me to know about it and put it in an official product, but if someone wanted to argue that it's not really canon because it's not in the show, I'd go, 'eh, fair enough'".) My interpretation is a bit complex: I absolutely do think Nathan wants a lover and a happy family. (Like you say, she's so thoughtful, and she loves love, and supporting other people.) Now, does that 'family' imply kids? Nathan seems to love children (the same source says she wants to increase company profits to donate more money to kids), but... I think she might do so in a slightly, how to put it, more theoretical / slightly less hands-on way? I'm basing this on how she interacts with baby Sam in episode 1x09. When handed a baby, her first instinct is to go "no no no that's not for me"; she only holds him when Bunny says they need a woman because Sam is calling for "mama", so it's more of an identity-affirming thing than an I-really-like-babies thing. OTOH, she is quite nurturing, and she doesn't look too uncomfortable once she does hold Sam. But, OTOOH, she treats Rose and Kid as her peers; in spite of them being teens and her (probably) being in her 30s, she acts more like an older sister than like a parent or even an aunt to them. So I think the "happy family" thing is mostly about... you know. Having someone you share an unconditional love with; someone you can go home to. Which doesn't seem to be something she has from her parents any more. 🙁 (But she does seem to get along well with her younger sister, which, well, see the thing about Rose and Kid). And I absolutely think that is Keith and the dogs for her, yes!!! They seem to want so many of the same things, and they get along so easily and so well (as soon as they get over their slight communication bump), and they obviously like spending time together in all contexts. (It's probably one of those "Oh. Wait. I already have that family I wanted, and it's this adorable weirdo and his fluffy boys" kind of things.) ❤️💜 (I could see both of them maybe wanting to have kids in the future; but I also don't see Keith ever retiring unless he has to, and Nathan probably wouldn't want to stop being his Buddy, and they're both ridiculously busy. So my personal idea is they just keep helping and supporting kids everywhere forever, including mentoring more and more younger heroes, but they never have their own children... Although that might be me projecting, because I'm very much an "I don't want kids EVER" kind of person. 😅)

Oooh. I don't usually naturally come up with such minute headcanons on my own, but now that you've asked... 🤔 I think Keith might be someone who grounds himself by touching stuff? Like, petting his dogs, holding objects, something like that. (Possibly the kind of person who, when holding hands with someone, would keep stroking his thumb along the other person's hand without quite realizing he's doing it.) As for Nathan, I could see her maybe biting her lip or the end of a pen or something when she's frustrated, or maybe also when she's trying to focus. (Or her nails, too, but only if she can do so without ruining her manicure, lol.)
