god like. the funniest thing about adaine abernant to me is that she is sooooo petty. she is so deeply capable of being a mean bitch. she used to be chronically anxious but she’s medicated now and that was the only thing holding her back from being born a hater and dying a hater. she loves her friends and the supportive environment that her new family gives her but this is also the same character who at fifteen years old (deservedly) told an incel he sucked multiple times over to his face and sent her sister who sucks to elf prison

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from channeling my mediocre writing skills into a longfic, it’s that when you start a story, especially an elaborate one where you’re crafting the world as you go and figuring out the kinks along the way, you don’t have to have everything completely sorted 100% of the way on day 1. You just have to leave enough details and loose ends to do something interesting with later.

And boy is the “something interesting” in episode 17 of Junior Year INTERESTING.

I don’t think Ankarna existed back in the first episodes of Freshman Year (though I also don’t want to underestimate the depth of BLeeM’s initial world building, lol) . I don’t know if it was canon in that moment that Jace and Porter were in the middle of their own conspiracy running tangent to the whole Kalvaxus thing. And honestly, it doesn’t really matter to me. Because he knew that they had been singled out for suspicious behavior, and set up just enough details in Freshman and Sophomore year to circle back to once he figured out exactly what kind of conspiracy they would be involved in.

It’s just the kind of writing that really gets to me. It’s like a Chekov’s gun that is definitely placed on the mantle with the intent to use it later, but the actual relevance and context isn’t decided upon by the writer until much, much later. You don’t know the joke yet but you have a perfect punchline.

i almost never actually describe anyone's appearance unless it's batman doing it, which on the one hand is funny because it means a lot of my fics taken out of context pass for canon-compliant, but on the other hand it feels very "not relevant to harry's journey" to be like "here is everyone's race that i haven't actually mentioned"

anyway i used to imagine tim as a very osric chau type but he has slowly morphed into just a guy i knew in high school. i blame the fact that i gave him a youtube channel.

aughhh i LOVE the little details in the artwork for fhjy especially when it comes to the equipment they use. like, buddys staff has grip on it for him to hold. Oisin has a holster for his spell book. it makes me giddy with delight

Fantasy high junior year started!!!! Loving everyone’s development but especially looking forward to Kristen’s gym rat + self motivation + failing as a cleric arc.

And also low key scared that this mediocrity + adult stress + everything matters + all you’ve earned is WORKING THIS HARD FOREVER. I’m afraid this is gonna swerve and hit me thru the screen. Did not expect it from my fun, lighthearted comfort show but. It’s gonna emotionally devastate me in a hopefully comforting way.

It finally got me to finish my old colouring book design for a Fig and Ayda pirate AU tho! Absolutely no thought behind it. Just magicky pirates. (I couldn’t figure out how to draw Ayda as a phoenix - just didn’t try)

Throughout the years, I’ve realized the power of vision boards. Creating them has become a crucial step for manifesting the life I want for myself.

Here are some tips for your vision board:

Make it inspirational

Don’t over do it with the pictures. Better 10 inspirational pictures than 100 meaningless ones.

Only put goals you are aiming for that particular year. I believe vision boards have more impact when they are more intentional

Make it authentic. Vision boards are very personal, make one that is authentic up yourself ♡

the “mommy issues creates writers” thing in reference to darling is so.. it’s just so. yk. so i think that queen charming was the mother that forgot her childhood dreams of being a rebel, an adventurer to be a mother, to do what’s best for her children and darling is the daughter that dared to do what her mother didn’t, break the mold. she collects stories of adventure to tell her mom so queen charming knows that she raised a child who isn’t afraid. darling writes these stories in small journal. when the journal is full, stained with dirt and ink, she’s at school. when she wrote the closing notes, it’s a night illuminated by moonlight. with the spirit of one doused in this adventure, she slipped out of school grounds to get to her castle. the journal of her life was tight her hand as she walked to her mothers room. in front of the closed, gilded door, darling placed the stained book on polished floor and knocked..
