going to high school was harder than my entire undergraduate degree at a top university. i'm starting my master's degree in a month and i bet I'll be able to say that high school was more difficult. i don't know how i survived that environment

I can’t believe it’s September. Time is flying.

Coming off a long week of nights. My first true 80hr work week as a resident. I’m sure it seems like small potatoes to the surgeons out there, but I’m definitely tired. 😅

I went on a cute lunch date with my bf and then we spent the rest of the day in the kitchen. He made homemade pho and I made a lemon olive oil loaf cake. We sipped on orange wine and watched Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix and it was such a perfect day. ❤️

Drove around aimlessly on the night of the 23rd and somehow ended up in a small snow storm, I guess that’s what happens if you drive up a hill🏔️But I got down safely despite the road being icy and having very little gas left in my car. The adventure was worth it though, I had a lovely time singing and driving (and facing my fear of driving at night lol)

Today I finally decluttered my phone and iPad (new wallpaper, deleted stuff etc.), it brought me long sought peace. Felt like something was missing before that…Now onto watching Home Alone 2📼 and then continuing my book. I got 5 new ones for Christmas and even though I do not have enough space to store them I am more than happy about my gifts :D!

hello, i’m deeya.

i have started this studyblr to document my academic journey to become a chartered accountant one day. i hope you support me, and we build a lovely community xx

i’m seventeen years old and i graduated from high school a few months ago. i have decided to pursue chartered accountancy along with bcom or bcom hons (still not sure).

college will start in fall, and currently i’ll spend my summer working to complete ca foundation.

fav shows: anne with an e, derry girls, suits, supernatural, vampire diaries, brooklyn 99, bojack horseman, stranger things, umbrella academy, gravity falls, and so many more.

fav movies: dead poets society (comfort movie), little women, any 2000s bollywood, any coming-of-age film and anything marvel and star wars!!

fav artists: hozier, lorde, lana del rey, taylor swift, ethel cain, mitski and the cranberries. (i’ll listen to anything, i swear)

fav books: the secret history, the picture of dorian gray, all rick riordan books, the hunger games, a good girl’s guide to murder, the bell jar, harry potter series, the shadowhunter chronicles.

fav writers/poets: dostoyvesky, sylvia plath!!(i love her), oscar wilde, jane austen, mary shelley, and franz kafka.

other fun facts:

i am a big reader, well used to be, but i now i don’t have enough time for it (shameful i know)

i am also an aspiring writer! i am currently working on two novels and i even have an writersgram (shush i’m not disclosing it yet)

i love stories about history, greek mythology, hindu mythology and everything about those.

i speak three languages but i want to learn atleast seven.

i had a huge dark academia phase, and i seriously love greek and latin so much.

i love fangirling over everything & have like 1089211 obsessions that i go crazy about.

i have so many random hobbies i can’t even mention them all (knitting, baking, art, gardening…)

i want to make a short film all by myself and i’m learning more about filmatography.

i am a literature, classics, history girl at my core but i don’t know why i have chosen to study finance, law, business and accounts instead??

my dream is to move out of my hometown (probably to london, it’s my fave city) and buy a little house and have 11 cats.

7.26.2024 — 안녕~ 어떻게 지내요? 오늘 나는 여동생이랑 가게에 갔어요. 사실 난 몰라 왜 I’m so into the whole “back to college” 아니면 “back to school” thing this year, and I’m not even a “college student” anymore (graduated 2020 😅), I just take college classes, 근데, maybe I just need something nostalgic for me to focus on these days. 그래서 나는 school supplies 샀어요. 뭐, 그냥 post-it tabs하고 펜들을 샀어요. These pens are my favorite to write hangul in. They just glide so nicely on paper! Oh, 램프 하고 planner 도 샀어요. I got a planner for my friend, too. This fall, I want to revamp my study/work space and make it cute. I slacked last year and really chose functional over aesthetic. But! I’m planning to give Korean studies my all this year, so I’d like a nice, comfortable space to study in. 화이팅 여러분~

"unschooling" is such a curious topic to me as someone who wasn't formerly schooled for a year at a semi-critical time in development.

Just after my tenth birthday until my eleventh, I was not in any formal school. I was still enrolled at my primary school, but as I was travelling for a year I didn't attend any classes.

It was before all the new online schooling stuff came out, all I had was a couple of work books, pens, my highly educated parents, and a very long road.

I'm both simultaneously unaffected and still feeling the after shocks.

If you asked me on a regular day, I would say "No, I haven't had any affects from it! I would never give up that year of travel as it changed my brain in a very good way!" and that is true. I would not give up that year of travel.

But at the same time, I struggle with basic fractions, I could not tell you about any basic english language structures that many, if not most, of my then classmates now could. In fact, here is a complete list of things I never did. At least in that year, and I had to catch up on.

Maybe this is a result of the year of "no school" I had, or perhaps I simply did not attend a particularly good school. I just thought I would share my thoughts. Also note that this occurred in 2017-18.

guys… I’m officially a masters student 👩‍🎓!!! Looks like I’ll be doing my masters from a smaller town an hour away from my home. How exciting! I am looking to see if I can switch campuses but this means I’ll be in the program regardless! Fingers crossed I can do my masters in my home city, but regardless I’m incredibly proud.

30nym challenge Day 3: What does your ideal study plan look like this week?

Next week I am tutoring M1 students about performing physical exams, so I’m planning to review the material and brainstorm some relevant fun facts to make it a bit more fun. Only about 20 min of studying/prepping per day.

I used to complain about my town when I was a teenager: nothing to do, no big opportunities for studying/working, few clubs, narrow minded people.

It’s ironic how I want so bad to come back home whenever I can now.
