𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠
Pairing: Charles Leclerc x driver!reader
Warnings: angst, swearing
Summary: breaking up with Charles to protect your career was the hardest thing you'd ever done, but what if it was all for nothing?
Word count: 1.5k
part 2
Tumblr media
Charles stared at you from afar, brown eyes tracing your every movement as you talked to Lando Norris, the first driver for Mclaren. He watched as you laughed, your eyes crinkling and smile widening, looking for all the world like you were genuinely happy.
His body ached for you. He wanted to touch you again, to wrap his arms around your waist, press a kiss to your cheek, feel you lean into him and sigh, that content, dreamy sigh you did whenever he was around.
He wanted to go back to the days where it was hasty kisses in empty rooms, sneaking away at every opportunity, lazy mornings spent together within the confines of hotel rooms. He wanted you back in his arms even if it was behind doors; he didn’t care. He just wanted you.
He looked at you and then he looked at himself, his hands that ached to hold you again but never would. He clenched them into fists, nails digging into his skin as his knuckles turned white, the prickle of pain starting. Charles didn’t mind; he liked it even. It distracted him, made him think about something else for once, instead of you.
Because it was always you
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You were trying to ignore Charles to the best of your ability. It was difficult, however, when your body had become so attuned to him, you could feel when he entered a room. It was unfair. You were the one who broke things off, so why were you acting like some wounded animal whenever you saw Charles?
You sat in the driver’s room, a few other drivers occupying the space alongside you, Charles included. He was on the other side of the room though, so you settled for talking to Lando, hoping the Mclaren driver would provide a distraction.
“Did you hear two of the drivers are hooking up?”
If you were drinking water you probably would have choked on it, and even so you still sort of gaped at him, jaw hanging open like an idiot.
“What?”
Lando grinned at your reaction. “Yeah, some rumour spreading across the engineering crew at Mclaren.”
“Wait, what is this about?”
You internally groaned as George Russell sat opposite you. You didn’t mind the guy usually, was actually reasonably good friends with him, but everyone knew he had a thing for gossip, and if you wanted something kept secret, well, it was better not to tell George.
And you desperately wanted to keep this a secret.
“Two of the drivers are screwing,” Lando mused. “I wonder who.”
Unable to resist it, you shot a quick glance at Charles, to see if he was listening. He was, and he was staring right at you, eyes sombre but worried. He knew you didn’t want it to get out; that's why you’d broken up in the first place. And even with his obvious displeasure over it he still seemed to care for you.
What a jerk.
You pointedly looked away, feeling guilt and nausea build up inside you. You hadn’t wanted to end things with Charles, but you could tell he was unhappy. He wanted you two to be public, wanted everyone to know you were together. You… couldn’t do that. The standards weren’t the same for a woman in F1, and you weren’t willing to risk your career, even over Charles.
So here you were, both somewhat miserable, with the secret you sacrificed to protect trying to escape anyway.
“Two drivers are hooking up?” Pierre’s curious voice floated through the air.
For fuck’s sake.
You smiled tightly, looking up at the newcomer. “Allegedly. But we don’t know anything for sure.”
Pierre shook his head. “No, no, I think I heard something about this. Someone spotted two drivers using a spare room to.. Well, you know.”
“Why didn’t you say anything before?” Lando whined.
Pierre shrugged, sitting down next to you. “I don’t know. It was maybe two months ago? I didn’t think it was true.”
And the conversation continued, nitpicking each driver’s dating life, trying to figure out which drivers were hooking up. You felt sick, your stomach doing nauseating flips every time they suggested another driver. You could already tell they thought it was you; there weren’t any openly gay drivers on the paddock, so logically that would mean one of them had to be with you, since you were the only female on the grid.
You kept your mouth shut though, offering up no explanation or defence. You just wanted this to be over, the sickening panic clawing at your throat, its nails scratching your back, digging into your stomach, making your head spin.
They couldn’t find out. No one could. You had sacrificed everything to make sure this secret was kept in the dark. You left Charles, left the man who made you feel alive, loved, happy, so that your career could persevere unharmed. It couldn’t have all been for nothing.
You couldn’t have done it all for nothing.
Again, your eyes found Charles, because they always seemed to find him, even when you didn’t mean for them to. He was staring at you, eyes softening. You couldn’t bring yourself to look away for the life of you. Not when he was staring at you with something other than pain or anger or disgust. When he was staring at you like before, glances shared across the room, playful smirks filled with secrets only you two knew. It was like déjà vu, smacking you in the face, your breath leaving your body with a deep whoosh, feeling empty yet full at the same time.
“Y/n?” Lando prodded.
You blinked, finally tearing your gaze away from the Ferrari driver, feeling sick, yet also tingly in your chest, a feeling you thought had long diminished since you and Charles ended.
“What?” you asked distractedly.
Pierre and George shared a look, raised eyebrows, and you narrowed your eyes.
“Are you dating anyone?” Lando repeated.
Your throat closed up, eyes darting to Charles again. He seemed almost eager to hear your answer, leaning forward slightly, eyes trained on your figure. You looked at him and you saw his pleading gaze, his hopeful posture, like he was waiting for you to say yes, a promise to him that you were still something, that you would be something in the future.
You felt your heart break a little as you looked away, back at Lando.
“No, no I’m not.”
The sound of a chair clattering backwards took your attention, everyone turning to Charles storming out of the room, hands curled into fists. He sent a glance to you, eyes angry, yet just a cover for the hurt underneath that only you seemed to be able to see, before he left, slamming the door shut behind him.
It was silent for a moment after Charles’ sudden departure, no one really sure what to say. You just prayed they didn’t make the connection between why he was angry, and tried to ignore the heavy guilt weighing you down.
“What was that about?” George asked, eyes fixed on you.
Fuck he knew. Or at least knew something.
You swallowed thickly, shrinking under his scrutinising gaze. “I don’t know.”
“He’s been having a hard time lately,” Pierre said quietly. “I think it may have something to do with his dad…. Or Jules. He hasn’t been like this since then.”
The conversation turned towards Charles instead of you, fortunately, but what wasn’t fortunate was the crushing guilt you now felt, feeling as if it was ripping you apart. Were you the reason Charles was hurting this much? For Pierre to compare it to the loss of his father, of Jules… it made you feel shit. So fucking shit. Especially because you’d always slightly regretted the decision of choosing your career over him, because no matter how much you loved driving, it could never give you the same thrill that Charles did.
And to now know he was grieving you? Well, it was safe to say you’d never hated yourself more than right now. Would you go back and change things if you could? You weren’t sure. All you could do to comfort yourself was remembering it was for a reason. To protect your career. It wasn’t all for nothing.
At that moment, your phone gave a little ping as a notification went through. As did Lando’s, and George’s, and Pierre’s.
A strange feeling of dread filled you at the sound, and as you took out your phone, you realised you had a right be dreadful, because one look at the screen was enough to make you want to bolt out the room, the little news bar lighting up your phone like a neon sign screaming, ‘you fucked up’.
Y/n L/n and Charles Leclerc previously involved in romantic relationship confirmed
You felt like you couldn’t breathe, like there was something heavy sitting on your chest, suffocating you. Everything around you became blurred, irrelevant compared to the big fuck up on your screen. You were distantly aware of Lando’s worried voice, Pierre’s hand on your back.
None of it mattered. All you could think about was Charles. You’d left him, left the life you had with him, ruined your relationship and any shred of happiness between you two to protect your career. Your precious career, like a baby to you, your whole life, the reason you walked away from the possible love of your life. And for what? For fucking nothing.
It was all for nothing.

pairing: best friend!steven grant x reader
w/c: ~750
c/w: suggestive content (18+)
a/n: SCREAMING this into the void (YEA I KNOW I HAVE WIPS BUT FUCK IT)
part two | part three
---
the arrangement started when you noticed how stiff he was next to you as you watched a movie. even though his eyes were locked onto the screen, you could tell that his mind was elsewhere.
his leg bounced nervously when you looked over at him. he thought you wouldn't notice his embarrassing hardness under your shared blanket, but he was so desperate that his bulge was quite obvious, even with the extra layer.
it was the film that made him like that.
as your pick for the week, you chose a particularly adult film compared to the usual sci-fi/fantasy marathons you've been having. so far, there's been at least 3 make out scenes and 2 sex scenes.
steven's been counting.
usually, he would be fine.
if the actors didn't have insane chemistry that could convince the audience that they're really in love and obsessed with each other, he wouldn't be in this position.
unfortunately, that extra touch of genuineness turns him on to an unbelievable degree.
he couldn't even stand up and excuse himself the first time they kissed because he was already harder than he'd ever been in his life.
then there was you, sitting right next to him, smelling as lovely as always, dressed in comfy clothes that make him delirious. and then there's the way you look at him, speaking to him like he's a sleepy puppy. like a fragile thing for you to take care of.
"you want some help?" he freezes at the soft sound of your voice.
the movie was turned down low (to placate the neighbors) so he couldn't just ignore you and pretend like you didn't say something. you sound so sweet like you're offering to fold his laundry out of the goodness of your heart.
"help...? with what?" his eyes avoid yours as his hands attempt to pull a throw pillow over his lap. you gently slip it out of his hand with a soft smile and plop it on the carpeted floor.
"you seem a bit stressed, steven." you sound breathy as you take in his flushed appearance, appreciating his disheveled curls and shy glances. "let me help you relax, honey."
"i dunno...what you're talking about." he continues to play dumb, too mortified that this conversation is happening, but he can't avoid it once you peel the blanket off of both of you.
"this." his breathing quickens rapidly as your hand smooths over his thigh and palms over the tent of his pants.
"oh..." you squeeze and he loses his sight for a second. "...that" he barely wheezes out.
---
you're best friends with steven -- and you have been for a while. as a long-time tour guide, you took him under your wing when he started to train at the museum (he got a promotion!) and it wasn't long before he happily let you invade his life outside of work too.
now you have weekly movie nights, alternating lunch 'dates' (if he shows up to work), and daily 'friendly favors', or hook ups if you want to be brash (again, if he decides to show up).
you spend so much time with him, you really don't understand why he doesn't get the hint and just ask you out already!
you're know he can be naive, but you're still surprised that he truly believes you're loving on him as a friend. he's so hesitant, like you'd refuse him if he tried to kiss you or hold you close, even though you've shown him time and again that you crave his touch and affection.
you can tell he really appreciates your help though, always being gentle when he uses your mouth and throat, and cleaning you up when he's done. he makes sure to tell you when he's about to cum, not wanting to make a mess, though you'd love it if he would.
at the end he always says "thank you" like the polite boy he is as if you're doing him a favor, when really, you're being quite selfish, taking everything he gives you with hidden desires and intentions. then he steps away from you with a blush, zips himself back into his pants, and pretends like he wasn't just whining and begging for your tongue.
today is different though.
today, you weren't the one to make the first move.
steven was.
"love. could we--instead of you helping me...i was wondering if i could use my mouth on you."
"me?"
"if you don't want to--"
"no! i-i...let's try it out."

ok, this literally isn't my fault. i've been seeing steven posts/edits/fics/ideas BLASTED on my dashboard. WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO IF NOT WRITE SOMETHING INDULGENT 😭

tied down (hjp)
pairing: harry james potter x fem!reader AU
summary: you and harry potter, the biggest flirt at hogwarts, have been secretly hooking up for weeks after playing hard to get. harry's been dragging his feet when it comes to making things official, so when his flirty tendencies get him in trouble, you decide to play him at his own game and win.
content warning: mentions of hooking up, toxic harry, alcohol, jealousy, angst. briefly edited, not book/movie/canon accurate.
word count: 3.3k
a/n: trying to write shorter blurbs between my longer requests, so please let me know if you like this! i also think it's my first sfw blurb, but trust that i'll be back w the smut in no time <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
harry was known to be a player around hogwarts. he definitely wasn't afraid to go after what he wanted, as he wasn't often rejected. girls seemed to fall for him before he even got the chance to flirt with them. however, that seemed to change when you came to hogwarts.
harry had immediately tried to hit on you, of course. but he knew there was something different about you right away. not only were you the prettiest girl he'd ever talked to, you were also the hardest to get.
you didn't fall for harry's tricks right away and saw through his act. at first you were a bit put off by his player attitude, but you thought he was cute, so you decided to keep him around to see how far he'd actually go for you. you weren't one to be charmed and dropped within a week. if harry really liked you, he'd have no problem working for you.
so, that's what he did. harry focused his attention on you, made time outside of his friends to be with you, and was actually starting to feel real feelings for you. with other girls there was just this instant attraction, which would then fizzle out after harry got what he wanted. with you, however, the feelings only got stronger the longer you kept him guessing. he found himself intrigued by your clever personality and completely enamored with your humor.
after a while of pining for you, you finally gave in to him a bit. it was hard to hold yourself back from something you also wanted, but it was worth making him fight for it.
harry had asked you to help him 'study', which of course meant you were actually working on your assignments while harry was drooling over you the entire time. you didn't mind for the most part, he can be pretty cute when he gets caught staring, but you weren't about to be the only one working.
"can't you focus on anything for more than 2 seconds?" you had asked harry with a laugh, turning to meet his gaze on you. you were sitting in the library in a secluded section, a dim light above your heads as the sun began setting outside of the windows next to you.
"you. all day." harry smirks, looking you up and down. you rolled your eyes, but harry saw the blush on your cheeks. "and you can't even do that without getting distracted." you tease him, smirking in return as you close your textbook.
"a guy runs into a pillar one time…" harry mumbles, annoyed. you're laughing at the memory, your hand covering your face. "it wasn't funny!" harry insists, but your laugh is making him crack a smile.
you look at him again, and he's enamored with the sight of you. giggling, blushing, the lighting so beautiful around you he swears he believes in angels now. you shake your head at him, still smirking and chuckling. "it was pretty funny." you told him, leaning towards him from laughing so hard in your seat.
"you're pretty." harry deadpans, his eyes searching you over and over. you really were pretty, prettier than harry could ever put into words.
you would normally roll your eyes or scoff at harry's attempt to flirt with you, but he wasn't flirting. he was being genuine. his eyes were honest and full of admiration for you in that moment.
so, you just leaned in and kissed him.
it was simple, sweet, and opened the gates to so much more over time. harry took it as an invite to start kissing you at random, intimate moments as well. nothing more than a kiss for a while, until you were the one to actually push it further by making out, giving harry love bites, touching over clothes, which then lead to touching under clothes…
within a few months you two were hooking up in secret nearly every week. harry had flings here and there before but never anything exclusive and extended like things have been with you. and while you found the secret hook ups to be exciting and fun at first, you didn't want to just be another girl on harry's roster. you were really starting to like him, and didn't want to see yourself get played.
whenever you tried to joke about becoming official, harry would laugh you off or ignore it completely. he knew it was starting to frustrate you, but he'd never been in a relationship before and he was afraid it wasn't what he really wanted. of course harry had feelings for you, feelings he's never felt for someone before, but he's always wanted to keep his options open. besides, he liked your casual hookups. was that so wrong of him?
he liked moments like right now, sitting across from you in the gryffindor common room, hanging out with a few friends and giving each other knowing looks between conversations. while everyone around you knew you two were definitely flirty towards one another, nobody really knew how much time you spent together. not just hooking up, but all the times the other has stayed the night talking for hours until the morning, or all the private study dates alone in the back of the library. you guys were definitely more than friends with benefits, but harry never acted like it when other people were around. he could tell you were starting to find it annoying rather than flattering.
your friends had been talking about a party someone was throwing that weekend when a couple girls walked through the room on their way out to leave. "guess i should start asking around for a date then, huh? what about you, you seem fun." harry's friend called towards one of the girls. they both turned to him, looked at each other, and laughed, making you laugh to yourself.
"what? i clean up nice!" he tried to redeem himself. the girls scoffed at him. "yeah, right," one of them said sarcastically. "yeah," the other said, still giggling as she looked towards harry. "besides, i'd rather go with your friend." she says in a flirtatious voice.
a few of your friends give you a side eye, but you just smirk and look at harry, waiting for his response. he glanced at you before looking at the girl and laughing nervously. his friend laughed heartily. "i don't think he's available that night..." he said, turning his head towards you.
harry throws his hands up defensively, a smirk on his face as he looks the girl up and down. "hey, you never know. i could be." he says with a chuckle. more eyes are drawn to you as you look at him with a curious expression.
"call me then." the girl says with a wink before leaving with her friend, giggling the entire way out the door.
there's a silence in the air as everyone looks between you and harry. he sees everyone's concerned eyes and becomes confused. "what?" he asks with a laugh.
you scoff at him, amused at his confusion. "what was that?" you asked, your tone still playful as you gesture to where the girls were. "what? it was a joke!" harry says, his hands raised in defense again. you click your tongue and roll your eyes, an evil smirk growing on your face. "oh, come on, [y/n]," harry says with an exasperated voice, leaning back in his seat.
"i don't know, harry, that was cold." harry's friend says with a nervous laugh. "yeah, [y/n]'s sitting right here." one of your friends reminds him.
you look back at harry, who's now rolling his eyes. "i was kidding. besides, we never said we were going together," he argues, pointing in your direction. all eyes fall back on you as a few "ooh"s are let out under breaths. you cross your arms, still giving harry that same evil smirk.
he looks at you again, his eyes softening at your expression. "stop, i'm not–""no, you're right. we never said that," you interrupt him with a sarcastic, knowing tone in your voice.
harry gave you a look, knowing what you were doing. "you never know, i could still find a date," you tell your friends, who start laughing with you. harry's friend looks towards him nervously, but his eyes were narrowed in on you. "right, harry?" you ask him innocently.
harry's tongue runs across his teeth, feeling his blood pressure rise just from thinking about you with another guy. however, he's not about to let you have the upper hand in front of everyone just like that. "yeah, sure. i could too." he says coldly.
still smirking, you nod your head and stand from your seat on the couch. "perfect, guess we gotta go find me a dress, yeah?" you ask your friends who eagerly jump up to join you on a shopping trip. on your way out, you wave a casual goodbye towards harry without another word.
harry's friend hits his shoulder, laughing at him. "you fucked up," he tells him. harry shrugs him off. "whatever, we're not even dating. besides, she won't actually bring another guy." harry tries to convince himself, still staring at the door. "if you're not dating then why would you care, mate?" harry's friend's still laughing at his misery when harry gets up to go to his room.
harry doesn't hear from you the rest of the week, and gets incredibly anxious the night of the party thinking you actually might show up with a date. by the time he's on his way with a few friends, all he wants is a drink to calm his nerves. because, well, so what if you showed up with a guy? you weren't his girlfriend, and that's how harry wanted it, right?
"nervous about something, harry?" one of them asked, snickering with the others. "shut the fuck up." harry snaps, only making them laugh harder at him. "lighten up, mate. just shag someone else tonight and get over it." another teased him. harry just stayed quiet and ignored their taunts.
harry's already finished with his first drink before he notices you entering the room. you looked fucking incredible. the dress, the hair, the makeup, everything was perfect. any other time he would've been thrilled to see you so dolled up, but he knew you only did this tonight to spite him. you knew exactly what you were doing and you were doing it well.
you were laughing with a few friends and getting your first drink when you spotted harry, already staring you down. you instantly smirked and gave him a look from head to toe before turning away and following your friends to the other room to dance.
harry followed as well, his friends joining behind him to find girls to dance with. the music was too loud to think, but harry's mind was racing watching you sway your hips to the song as you joined the crowd of dancing students. he tried to keep an eye on you but you disappeared into the sea of faces.
"just have fun, mate." one of harry's friends yelled to him over the music, patting him on the shoulder. harry gave him a half smile, nodding in his direction. he was right. if you were going to be like that, harry could play along too. he was the player first, anyway.
scanning the rest of the room, harry finds a decently pretty girl on the edge of the crowd and begins talking her up. he's only half-interested in the conversation with the clearly tipsy girl, his eyes still searching the room to find you again.
he's about to give up and go looking for you when you suddenly come into his view, only a few feet away. you were dancing in front of some guy, he looked like a kid in harry's eyes. you were chatting with him, your hands messing with the bottle in your hand as your hips continued to sway. you weren't even close to him or seemed to be flirting with him at all, but just seeing you with another guy looking as good as you did made harry's fists clench.
you glanced in his direction and he immediately turned to the girl in front of him and began laughing, nodding his head to the music, pretending he never saw you. once harry felt your gaze drift away, he looked back, and you were gone.
sighing, harry says his goodbyes to the drunk girl and gets another drink for himself, chugging half of it before coming back up for air. he stands by the table for a minute trying to let his heart rate slow before hearing your laugh entering into the room.
harry turns and sees you saying your goodbyes to a different guy than the one from before, some tall kid with terrible posture that harry could easily take on. as he leaves the room, it's just you and harry next to the drinks. you turn and see him, a surprised smile on your face. "hi," you say politely, stepping around him to grab another drink.
"how long were you planning on torturing me, exactly?" harry asked you, sounding angrier than he meant to. you just chuckled to yourself, a confused look on your face as you removed the cap from your next bottle. "what do you mean?" you asked innocently.
harry let out an angry huff, staring at you with his jaw set. "you know exactly what you're doing." harry deadpans. you look at him knowingly, taking a swig of your drink before shrugging. "i'm just having fun." you told him with a smirk. "yeah, i can see that." harry spits out. you're clearly reveling in his jealousy which is only frustrating him further.
he looks you up and down once more and can hardly contain himself. your skin looks so soft, and you smell even better than you look. he's never seen you in such a short dress and it's driving him insane knowing it's not just for him. don't these losers staring at you know harry's the only one that's seen what's under this dress? that he knows all your favorite spots to be kissed, your weaknesses, your fantasies? that he's been fucking pining over you for months to get your attention?
speaking of losers, another one comes into the room and walks straight up to you, ignoring harry like he was never there. "hello, beautiful," he said in a voice that made harry aggressively roll his eyes, turning his head to look away, his hands balling into fists again.
"saw you on the dancefloor and figured i'd ask for a song," he invites you, grabbing your hand and kissing your knuckles. "you've got every eye on you tonight, yeah?" the loser says, causing harry to lick his teeth and turn his angry stare back to you.
you were smiling at the guy politely, too politely for harry's taste, before turning him down gently. "no problem, maybe i'll win you over later." he says with a wink before leaving, never acknowledging harry once.
you looked back at harry with a smug smile. "really? i'm right here." he says incredulously, throwing his hands up. you can't help but laugh. "doesn't feel good, does it? at least i rejected him." you make your point with raised eyebrows, taking another drink.
harry sighs, the anger subsiding as he sets his drink down. "look, it was a bad joke, okay? i wanted to come with you this whole time, and i think you know that." he says with a pout. you just continue smirking. "i know." you say simply.
"then why? why are you doing this to me?" harry begs, a hint of anger still present behind his guilt. you laugh again, and it only makes harry more confused and upset. "just enjoy yourself, harry." you tell him, patting his shoulder like his friend did earlier as you left behind him.
harry downs the rest of his drink and half of his third before returning to the room with the music, seeing a few of his friends dancing with some random girls. as harry walks through the crowd, a girl grabs him by the shoulders and begins dancing with him to the beat of the music. harry looks at her, looks around, and sees you to his right.
dancing with yet another guy.
this time he was holding your hand as you swayed your hips to the music, watching you with a hunger in his eye. harry's rage immediately returned. he looked down at the girl who grabbed him and pulled her closer to him, moving his hips to the beat with her. after a moment he looked back at you and caught your eyes for just a second before you returned to dancing.
harry continued to move with the girl half heartedly in an attempt to get your attention for a few minutes before he saw you heading for the front door with your friends. just as harry broke away from the dancing girl to follow, a completely different guy cut him off to chase you out of the room.
harry could physically feel himself succumbing to his anger as he stomped towards the door. he entered the hallway and saw you standing just a few feet away, your back turned as your friends were dying laughing beside you.
as harry approaches, he sees the guy that just followed you out now in front of you, clearly drunk, asking you repeatedly if you'll give him your number. you're saying, "no, i'm sorry, no, thank you, though," with an uncomfortable laugh, trying to turn him down gently.
the guy literally drops to his knees in front of you, his hands in yours, begging for your number. "please, please, just gimme a chance, you're so–" he gets interrupted by a burp. "so pretty," he chokes out.
your friends are giggling amongst themselves before harry walks up to the guy, stunning them into silence. "she said no, fucking tosser," harry's voice bellows, picking the guy up by his collar from his knees. "now leave my girlfriend alone, yeah?" harry growls into his face before throwing him towards the door. the guy flips harry off before stumbling back into the party.
your friends gasp and laugh to themselves again, telling you they're gonna go before running off down the hall together giggling the entire way.
harry's breathing heavily, his fists still clenched staring at the door. "girlfriend?" your curious voice perks up behind him.
he turns to you, smiling at your shocked expression. his hands relaxed, as well as his mind. "yes, my girlfriend." he says matter-of-factly, taking a step towards you to put a hand on your waist. "i don't want any other guy looking at you the way they did tonight ever again. okay? you win. you're mine." harry says possessively, his hands gripping you closer to him.
you sighed. "i wasn't trying to make you mad tonight, i just wanted you to see that you're not the only one with options." you tell him smugly, your arms wrapping around his neck. "i want to be taken seriously, harry. that's all i ever wanted from you." you say genuinely, your eyes searching his.
harry looks down at you and smiles, admiring you for a moment. "you're all i've wanted since the moment i saw you," he admits, resting his forehead against yours. "i love you, [y/n]."
you smile, leaning in to kiss him softly. "i love you too, harry."

“You’re staring, again.”
Tara snaps her gaze back to the book on the table, ignoring her friends’ smug smiles. “Why don’t you just go up to her and apologize?”
“She doesn’t want to talk to me, trust me, I’ve tried.” Tara rolls her eyes.
It’s been two weeks since that night at the party and you have been ignoring Tara. You spent the rest of spring break working at your uncle’s shop, avoiding the friend group, sans Mindy because you couldn’t exactly avoid someone you lived with. Tara attempted to give you space the following days and then reached out to you in hopes that you could talk and sort out the situation. Tara doesn’t want to lose you as a friend.
“I’m not gonna apologize for something that wasn’t my fault, Mindy. Just because she caught feelings doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. But now she’s ignoring me?” Tara scoffs, “Well, some friend she is.”
“God Chad’s right. You two are clueless.” Mindy’s nose wrinkled.
“She knows where to find me when she’s done being stubborn.” Crossing her arms, she glances back at you. You were sitting across the quad, on a bench surrounded by your other friends; laughing and talking, unfazed by Tara’s brazen staring.
How were you not seeing her shameless looks?
She swallowed the pitiful lump in her throat as she continues to observe your carefree nature.
“Weren’t you begging me to tell her to call you back like a week ago?” Mindy objected causing Anika and Quinn to snicker as they listen in, not bothering to pretend like they weren’t eavesdropping.
“Begging is a stretch,” She mutters weakly, picking at the corner of her book.
“Tara, why can’t you just admit that you want to be with her?” Quinn ponders, genuinely confused as to why you two are playing hopscotch around one another. Everyone could see how madly in love you two are.
It genuinely puzzled the friend group as to why it’s taking this long to get you guys to stop playing games.
They just wanted to see their friends together and happy, definitely not because of the growing bet pool. And not because it was getting increasingly expensive to wager in the bet the longer it ran because you two refused to acknowledge the clear feelings you have for each other. (It was starting to burn a sizeable hole in their wallets)
The brunette shakes her head defiantly, “We’re just hooking up.”
“You’re not acting like you guys are just hooking up.” Anika counters, “actually, you guys act more like a couple than me and Mindy sometimes.”
“No. We don’t,” She frowns.
“Yes you do and it’s gross,” The aforementioned girl interjects. “No one should be cuter than me and my girl.” She wraps an arm around Anika, leaning in to lovingly peck the girl’s cheek.
“Y/N’s always bringing you coffee when you study with us at the library, even though her class is on the other side of campus.” Anika comments.
“She always loses on purpose when we play card games just so you can win,” Quinn adds.
“She laughs at all your lame jokes and obscure movie references – there’s no way you enjoy Suspiria as much as you say you do,” Mindy stated.
“Hey!”
“Dude, she has a Spotify playlist titled with your name and heart beside it.” Mindy throws her hands up, feeling a bit fed up.
“Doesn’t mean anything, we share music all the time!”
“Tara, Y/N literally takes care of your plants when you complain about forgetting,” Quinn objects.
Tara’s still feeling persistent. “That’s not true.”
Her dying plants have been on the mend these last few weeks and it’s definitely because she’s been paying more attention to them; placing the potted plants in a better area for sunlight and watering them more.
Quinn shoots her roommate a pointed look, “You were over-watering them, Tara. Y/N had to come over and change the soil. Did you even notice?”
No, Tara didn’t even notice. She was shocked at how much went over her head as her friends continue to list all the little things you do that, apparently, she’s been too blind to see. She glances back at you as you’re talking to a girl; smiling, unbothered. She recognizes her from her creative writing class – Tara didn’t know you two were close. Close enough for the girl to wrap a hand around your arm and lean into your ear something that the Carpenter can’t make out from the vast distance.
Tara’s eyes slither into tight fissures as she watches the random girl continue to make herself comfortable on you. Eventually, whatever she felt she had to whisper so close was over, but not before the girl planted a kiss on your cheek unsuspectingly. The Carpenter watches as you slightly jump from the contact, then eventually grant her a shy smile – the same smile you reserved for her.
Tara feels an unpleasant drop in her chest because, for the first time since moving to New York, she allowed herself to finally feel everything she’s been burying.
It was suffocating, making her want to claw at her throat to get rid of the nasty sensation. Regardless of how much she swallowed in an attempt to get rid of the feeling, it only grew larger as it ached; begging to be acknowledged. Hastily, Tara stands up, gathering her things.
“Where are you going?” Her friends' questions were left unacknowledged as she footed it, not really sure where she was going; all Tara knows is that she had to get away before her friends see her break down.
In her haste, Tara misses your concerned eyes tracking her disappearing figure.

Tara is choosing to ignore the world and her problems.
After that conversation with her friends, she ran home, plopped into her bed and hid under the covers for the remainder of the afternoon. She put on her favourite horror movies, hoping it would distract her from her thoughts of you. But her efforts proved to be fruitless. You tormented her thoughts regardless of how desperately she tried to drown them out.
So, she sat there until bright blue skies turned navy and drove herself mad thinking about you.
Trust came sparsely for someone who was violently attacked by a deranged murderer. As much as Tara tried to push through the past and live as if nothing happened, it plagued her in her daily life. It revealed itself when a phone rang too loudly, near kitchen knives, or in dark areas – there were just certain experiences that were tainted by the memory of Ghostface.
But then you showed up. She remembers opening the door to her apartment and there you were, standing behind Mindy with a $15 bottle of champagne and a poorly-wrapped throw blanket for the old couch to celebrate the Carpenter’s housewarming party (an attempt at some normalcy) with a shy smile and Tara was hooked.
No matter how much she tried to distance herself, echoing sentiments that it’s a bad idea to get involved with someone so soon.
You lured her in, anyway.
It was in your tenderness that you had Tara wrapped around your finger.
Normally, the Carpenter would be annoyed with someone treating her like she was made of glass, but when it came to you; she knew it wasn’t out of pity. Your gentleness was welcomed with open arms because for once in her life, Tara finally felt like she didn’t have to be so brave all the time, at least, not when she was around you.
She didn’t have to pretend her life was as put-together as she made it out to be.
Because for once, someone had finally made her feel like she is worthy enough to stay for, to care for, and maybe to love. And that was terrifying because all anyone in her life had ever done is let her down and leave – Sam, her mom, her dad, Amber. So she kept you on a tight leash; taking control and leading. Never letting you close enough to see how she really feels about you. But there are cracks in the unsturdy walls she tries to put up, she’s not perfect. How can she resist you when you still willingly chased after her regardless of what she’s put you through – and how even through her harshness, you never lose your gentleness with her.
You create real balance and peace within her (not the fake one, she’s desperately fronting) and to someone who’s only known chaos and instability – that’s terrifying. So sue her, for being a little scared.
So, yes.
Right now, Tara is ignoring everything around her because that realization is too big a burden to deal with.
She has her legs pulled up to her chest, the fuzzy blanket you gifted months ago, wrapped around her shoulders as she watches the TV from the couch; not really paying attention to the film. Her eyes begin to burn the longer she stares at the blue-lit screen causing a painful sting to her pupils.
A terse knock on the front door startles her making her blink at the sound.
Everyone was out for the night; Sam at therapy, Quinn at a hookup’s house and her other friends, all off doing their own thing. She wasn’t sure who could be at the door at this time. Cautiously, she stands to silently walk to the door – the pads of her naked feet connecting to the wooden floor litter goosebumps on her skin. Standing on the tips of her toes, Tara looks through the peephole.
She sees you shifting on your feet, glancing over your shoulder – looking unsure if you should even be there.
Tara feels a pit forming in her stomach, but moves swiftly to unlock the door, opening it.
“Hey.” She says softly, palm wrapped tight on the doorknob in an attempt to ground herself.
“Hi.” You rub a hand on the back of your neck.
“What–what are you doing here?” Tara sees you flinch, mistaking her tone for malice but you’re answering before she can correct herself.
“Mindy said you needed my help.” You drawl as if confused.
Tara shares your confusion, brows drawing together. “I… don’t need help?”
You shake your head, clenching your jaw tight, “God dammit… I think she set us up.”
“Oh.”
Rolling your eyes, “Yeah, oh. Look, that’s my bad, I’ll deal with her. You can go back to… doing whatever you were doing.”
Tara sees you eye her attire glumly; an oversized shirt that covered her bare legs; assuming the worst. Her eyes immediately widened like saucers, grabbing your arm before you could leave.
“No! That–that’s not–I’m home. Alone.” She clarifies. The word ‘alone’ taking a special raised and rushed tone.
You scoff, pulling away from her, “good for you.”
“Can we talk?” Tara calls out, she can’t let you leave yet – despite her previous decision to ignore you and ignore her feelings. The longer you stood across from her, the more she realized just how much she’s missed you these last few weeks.
“No.” You continue to walk down the hall.
Tara grows desperate, running after you and grabbing your arm again to stop you from leaving. The concrete floors were rough on the soles of her feet. “Y/N, please.”
You turn, ready to yank your arm away from her grip but her watery eyes halt you; sympathy bubbling lowly in your chest and you curse inwardly at how easy it was for her to lure you back in.
“Can y’all shut the fuck up? Some people are trying to get some sleep!” A voice interrupted, it was her neighbour, peeking his head a couple of doors down to yell at you two. He pops his whole body out when he sees Tara’s revealing figure, shooting her a lewd smile through his cigarette-tainted teeth,  “Oh hey, there.”
Tara feels you turn in her hold as your face drops – jaw clenching as you glare at her sleazy neighbour (who was at least in his late 40s judging by his greying hair) “Go back inside unless you wanna get fucked up and stop looking at her.”
He stares back for a few seconds, debating if the challenge was worth his time. You move her behind you with a tug of an arm; blocking his view of her. Tara knows it's the wrong time but she couldn’t help but move closer; inhaling your familiar perfume. “Man, you’re not even worth my time.”
You wait until he shuts the door before facing her again, muttering under your breath. “Creepy motherfucker.”
“Go back inside before anyone else comes out here begging for a show.” You tell her, lightly pushing her back to her door. But her hold on your arm tightens, “Not until you come inside and talk to me.”
You sigh, looking around the hallway in an attempt to buy yourself some time before you eventually gave in – tugging her inside the apartment.
Only once you were both inside did you pull away from her grip; Tara’s arm falling limply by her side. You look at her expectantly, “Well?”
Tara remains unmoving and silent, She curls into herself, leaning against the back of the couch just staring at you
You grow annoyed at her silence, running a hand on your face, “Tara you begged me to talk…”
Still nothing from the Carpenter; she isn’t sure why she can’t say anything now that you’re standing in front of her. Maybe it was because she wasn’t ready to confront you and her feelings but as you stood there, about to leave, she knew she couldn’t let that happen. She wasn’t sure when she would see you again, this was the closest you’d been around her in the last few weeks.
At this point, she was acting on pure impulse and heightened emotions.
“Unbelievable…” You mutter, grabbing the doorknob. She can feel practically feel the sharp snap in your patience as you try to leave, again.
“I don’t get you.”
That stops you in your tracks, making you turn looking confused.
“What?”
Tara begins to shake her head.
“I mean, I don’t get you… Like, why are you still here? Jesus, Y/N, you’ve been ignoring me but you still came here cause you thought I needed help. Even after all the petty shit I’ve been doing with those guys to fuck with you and after the party” She grabs at her hair; roughly tugging on it. “And even after all that, you still chase after me. Why!”
“Because I love you.”
Tara inhales a sharp breath at your admission and how carelessly easily you said those words. Your brows furrowed like you looked genuinely confused by her question, it has Tara scoffing in disbelief. Unsure how you can still give her genuineness even after everything she’s done, she doesn’t deserve it.
“No, you don’t, you can’t. We’re just hooking up, it was just sex.” She denies, but a fog of tears is beginning to cloud her eyes. Even through the haze, she can see you approaching closer, holding a cautious hand out.
“Maybe I am just a hook-up to you… but I didn’t just catch feelings for you. I’m not just falling in love with you, I already fell Tara. More like, I dove head-first without a life jacket,” You take the moment to chuckle dryly.
“And yeah, that wasn’t part of the plan but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself I didn’t tell you that there’s someone that wants to wake up and fall asleep beside you every day. Someone that wants to show you that maybe this time you don’t have to be so afraid to let someone in.” You shake your head, looking down for a brief moment of insecurity but you regain the passion in your eyes as you connect gazes.
“So, look me in the eyes and tell me that I’m just a hookup, and if you do. I’ll leave you alone – for good.” She desperately blinked away the tears as she attempts to meet your eyes to tell you that you are just a hookup, it is just sex, she doesn’t love you too. But when she meets your eyes, she sees tenderness again and suddenly her knees are buckling under her.
Her body doesn’t meet the ground like she expects it to. Instead, you grabbed her, wrapping a firm arm around her waist as you held her weight up. She can hear distant mutterings of comfort being whispered in her ear but nothing registers as she realizes that she’s starting to sob uncontrollably.
“Baby…need you to breathe… ‘gonna make yourself sick.”
She couldn't hear anything around her until her face is being pressed into soft fabric; clawing at it, in a desperate attempt to self-soothe. She’s having a panic attack.
“Tara… Please, baby, you have to breathe–” You beg but Tara can’t hear you properly.
Nothing works until she feels you wrap her in a firm hug, still leaving her enough space so as to not feel suffocated. One arm around her waist, the other hand wrapped around her neck, as you rub soothing lines on her clammy skin.
A few moments of silence pass until Tara feel the pressure in her chest ease as the ringing in her ears subsides. She gasps for air against your chest, coughing as a burning ache in her throat develops. The rubbing of lines on her neck turns into firm pats on the back as Tara continues to cough through her tears.
“It’s okay, it’s okay.” You shush her. Eventually, her coughs turn into occasional sniffles and deep breaths as you run fingers back up her hair comfortingly; giving her all patience she required.
“I’m sorry,” Tara says once she pulls her head off your chest, keeping a tight grip on your clothes.
“You have nothing to apologize for,” Your eyes softened as you ran the pads of your thumbs to wipe away at her tear-stained cheeks.
She shakes her head in your grip, “Yes, I do. Even now, you’re still treating me so well. I don’t deserve it.” Her voice turns into a broken whisper as she finally allows herself to be vulnerable.
“Oh Tara,” You said so tenderly, “You deserve the world, baby. You’re amazing.”
“No, I’m not,” She shakes her head, beginning to pull away from you, not wanting to hear your words and how genuinely you believed it.
You tightened your grip around her waist, preventing her from moving. “Yes, you are, if only you can see yourself the way I see you. Oh, Tara, you don’t even realize it. You amaze me, you make me want to be a better person, that’s what you do to me, that’s what you make me feel. Not the other stuff you’re saying.”
Shaking your head, passion raging in your eyes; eye contact with the smaller girl unwavering, “The way you care for everyone around you, and how you carry yourself despite everything you’ve gone through… Baby, it’s amazing to watch you be yourself. I know, I know… After Amber, it’s hard–” That makes Tara’s eyes widen, unaware you knew about her and her late friend.
“–to trust people but, if you just gave me a chance and spared me an ounce of trust to let yourself fall… I promise I’ll be under there waiting with a safety net.”
Tara examines your eyes, there was no ounce of dishonesty in them. But that’s to be expected, you’ve always been genuine with her, always up-front, and calling her out on her shit – with love. It was one of the things that made her fall for you. Where everyone around her treats her like she’s a porcelain doll, letting her get away with whatever she wanted – you stopped her, but always in a way that was more so loving and protective rather than overbearing and smothering.
The thudding in her chest begs for reprieve as her heart craves to be moulded with yours. Her heart wants to know what it was like to beat in tandem with you, to finally allow herself to be caught instead of trying (and failing) to hold herself up all the time.
As Tara’s body caves in on herself, she pulls you down by the neck, unable to hide the content sigh that leaves her lips when your mouths meet in the middle. The kiss was sweet, passionate and firm; it poured out all love that words could never capture; where the tool of language proved to be invaluable in expressing her feelings.
“I trust you…” Tara whispers when she pulls away, unable to school the smile breaking across her lips. You giggle, making her smile wider. For once the heaviness in Tara's chest feels bearable with you in her arms.
No other words were exchanged as you two attempted to meet again for a kiss only to bump noses and miss because you two were beaming so wide.

6 to 1 | lando norris (part 2)
paring: lando norris x leclerlc!reader part 2 in the 6 to 1 series (read part 1 here)
you're a bit of a flirt, the drivers understand that even if charles doesn't and recently you've been a little less careful about your interactions in the paddock. you'd think that would deter lando, but he's still committed to moving up your ranking, no matter what it takes
word count: 6.1k tags: established friendships, minor social media au aspects, poorly translated French
Tumblr media
“What’s it going to take for you to love me?”
Lando practically forced you away from your brother and Carlos as you walked behind them. You were staring down at your phone and didn’t even see the McLaren driver headed your way so it was safe to say you were startled when he grabbed your wrist to pull you aside.
You pushed your sunglasses up to your head, “Excuse me?”
Lando sighed, as if having to repeat himself was such an inconvenience. “What’s it going to take for you to love me?”
At this point, Carlos and Charles had noticed you stopped following them and were making their way back to you. Carlos was amused at your interaction whereas Charles was uncertain. He couldn’t tell what Lando’s motives were or if they went beyond moving up your driver ranking.
You pretended to think about it for a second and Lando looked hopeful, as if there were genuine steps he could take to get you to like him more.
You counted on your fingers, “Be about four inches taller, for starters,” You held out a second finger, “Have darker features and…” a third finger, “Don’t be a Formula 1 driver.”
Lando wasn’t impressed with your answers, mostly because they didn’t help at all and you weren’t being the least bit serious. Instead of trying to get some real information out of you, he reacted like a child and yanked your sunglasses off your head before turning and running down the paddock.
You cupped your hands around your mouth to help with the volume of your voice, “This is why you’re fifth on my ranking!”
Carlos waited until you rejoined him and Charles before asking about the sudden change, “I thought he was sixth?”
“Oh, I mean-” you waved your hand outwards, “yeah he worked his way up, I guess. By default.”
“By default?” Charles asked. You weren’t making any sense, but you also weren’t about to explain why Lando was now fifth, nor did you know how to explain why Pierre had been dropped without coming clean about hooking up with him.
Your shoulders tensed, “Yeah, I-”
“Hold on,” Charles came to a sudden halt. He pulled his sunglasses off his face and looked back and forth between you and Carlos. Neither of you knew what he was doing, but you felt obligated to freeze until he opened his mouth again. “Is Carlos your ideal man?”
It took you a second to figure out how Charles came to that conclusion, but you did say to Lando if he was four inches taller and had dark features, you’d love him. Which practically described Carlos. The only thing was, Charles was missing an important detail.
“Carlos is a Formula 1 driver. I don't date drivers.” you pointed out, starting your walk to the garage again. Carlos moved at your pace, draping his arm over your shoulder as Charles tagged along behind you two.
“What if I wasn’t a driver?” Carlos asked, a playful smile on his lips.
You smacked his chest, “No.”
“No,” Charles repeated, much louder. “Y/N, I am going to take away your paddock access if you don’t stop flirting with the grid.”
You held up your hand and stuck up your middle finger, a beaming grin on your face knowing Charles was staring at it with betrayal. Carlos laughed, tugging you into his side as you continued walking, leaving Charles to mutter a string of complaints the entire way down the paddock.
“So Lando made it to your top five?” Carlos asked, reaching for a pair of Ferrari headphones to hand to you.
“Unfortunately.”
“And where am I on this list?”
You slid the bright red headset over your ears, rolling your eyes, “Bold of you to assume you’re in my top five.”
“Of course I am,” there was a glint in his eye as he walked you to the visitor booth at the back of the garage. He waited until you stepped up to lean against the barrier, crossing his arms over it as he looked up at you. “Charles is probably first, which means I am second, no?”
You didn’t confirm or deny where the Ferrari driver stood, deciding to just press your palm to his forehead to push him away from the booth. Carlos laughed and before he could gear up to get into his car, you wished him good luck for the qualifying session.
You caught that faint sliver of a smile he sent you before sliding his helmet on and it took most of your attention that you flinched when you noticed Charles standing next to you. As you placed your hand on your chest to steady your heart, you couldn’t help but notice his scowl.
“What is your problem?” You asked, dropping the headset to rest around your neck. You wanted Charles to know that he had all of your attention because clearly something was bothering him. And if he performed poorly during qualifying because of it, he’d blame you.
“I don’t like it,” his gaze was stuck on his teammate, watching as Carlos chatted with the employee assisting him with his helmet strap.
But you weren’t following. Your brother seemed to be referring to a made up scenario he came up with that involved yourself and Carlos and the thought alone made you laugh. As in, tip your head back and cackle so loud that people turned over their shoulders to see what sort of animal just wandered into the garage.
Even Carlos looked at you. Through his helmet and with his faint head tilt, you could tell he was wondering what was so funny. You did your best to get your humorous expression under control and turned back to Charles.
“I don’t actually like Carlos, you know that right?” He had to have known that. Charles made it clear time and time again that he would figure out a way to kick you out of the Leclerc family if you started dating a driver, hence why you were so on edge about Pierre running his mouth around the paddock.
“You flirt with him a lot,” was his only reasoning.
“I think you’re looking for a reason to be annoyed with me.”
“Well I mean-” Charles shrugged a shoulder, “I don’t know, Y/N, tone it down a bit, is all.”
“Just get in the car and focus on qualifying,” you pushed on his shoulder right as someone handed him his helmet.
Charles definitely looked like he had more he wanted to say, but now was not the time to get into it. You gave him a thumbs up before he turned around, making the smart decision to put his focus into the upcoming sessions than to worry about you.
Tumblr media
A friend of yours sent you the twitter thread after qualifying had ended and you thought that replying to it would not only be funny, but put some rumours to rest.
You definitely did post Carlos a lot, but you were with him a lot. It was just something that happened.
But you had no idea how the photos of you and each of the drivers surfaced. You tried to be careful and not be outwardly flirtatious or cross any lines, even as a joke, in public, but it seemed like some fans were starting to get suspicious.
You stepped into the paddock, water bottle in your grasp, your hand acting as a shield from the rare Montreal sun seeing as everyone expected this weekend to be a wet one.
“You look like you could use some sunglasses.”
Lando’s little tease had you stopping in your tracks. Your arm fell to your side as you turned on your heels and watched as the McLaren driver pushed himself away from a flag pole to walk towards you. How long had he been standing there? His racing suit undone and hung horribly low on his hips as his black fireproof long sleeve clung to his body.
“Don’t you have media to do or something?” You pestered, eyeing your sunglasses that he tucked into his collar, looking extremely out of place compared to the rest of his driving attire.
Lando stepped forward and you flinched when he raised a single finger up to your forehead, tracing his fingertip over the lines above your eyebrows, “You shouldn’t squint, you’ll get wrinkles.”
“Maybe if I had my sunglasses-” you reached for the accessory but Lando’s reaction time had you beat by miles. He jumped back and his laughter rang through your ears.
He adjusted them on his collar and when you realised you weren’t going to win this battle, you figured it wasn’t even worth it to fight.
And if he held onto them for the rest of the day, he’d have an excuse to find you later to give them back.
Not that you wanted that.
But you also didn’t not want that.
You didn’t know what you wanted, all you knew was that Lando confused you and each time you saw him this weekend so far, you held your breath or rolled your eyes or sometimes both.
Right now it was both as he sauntered to your side, draping his arm over your shoulder casually, as if you weren’t surrounded by people with cameras and smartphones with the ability to pick up on this little exchange and ultimately spin a story out of it.
Lando didn’t care, he had something else on his mind.
“Did you see where I placed?”
“Place what?”
He knew that you knew what he was talking about and the fact that you were making him work for it was, purposely, annoying. He tugged harshly on a handful of your hair which resulted in you pinching his side as retaliation. Lando knocked your water bottle out of your hand and jumped back to put space between you before you could yank on his driver suit, which you were trying to do.
You were children, essentially. Anyone walking by would see a couple of twenty-something year olds play fighting. You with a glare on your face and Lando with a cheeky grin because you picked up your water bottle and tried to throw it at him and the fucker managed to catch it like it was nothing.
“Qualifying, you little shit,” Lando finally clarified when he sensed you had given up on this immature battle. He tossed the bottle up and caught it with ease, still wearing that same smile. “I start fifth tomorrow.”
“Is that supposed to impress me?”
He winded his arm back and pretended to throw the bottle at you. Automatically, you held your hand up in defence and squinted, bracing yourself for an impact that never came. Instead, Lando stepped forward and grabbed your hand to lower it, a non verbal assurance that he wouldn't actually throw a water bottle at you…this time.
You noticed that his fingers lingered on yours longer than they should have. Lando did too and he handed over your drink, raising his hand to scratch the back of his neck to play off whatever that little gesture was.
“Lance starts tenth,” he pointed out.
Just to piss him off, you clenched your hand to your chest and sighed dreamily, “My Canadian hero.”
“He starts tenth!” Lando repeated himself, much louder this time. “Come on, Y/N, this has to move me up your ranking.”
“Qualifying higher doesn’t mean you get points,” you weren’t about to let him get his hopes up. “Finish ahead of Lance tomorrow and I’ll see about bumping you up to fourth.”
“You are cruel.”
“You sound funny when you say that,” the corner of your lips curled upwards when his British accent made the ‘r’ sound in cruel come across more like crool.
“You sound funny.”
“Good burn, you really got me,” your words were layered with heavy sarcasm and you watched as Lando rolled his eyes. You two could probably set a world record for the amount of time eye rolls are exchanged in a single conversation.
“I don’t actually mean that,” Lando suddenly flipped a switch, his cheekiness being replaced by a bashful smile. “I like your accent. I like when you speak French, even if I don’t understand it.”
You could have thanked him for the compliment, if it could have even been considered one, but that wasn’t the type of friendship you had with Lando. You liked making his life difficult and in return, he liked to annoy you.
So you stepped up to him until there was only a few inches between your bodies. He seemed confused when you placed your hand on the side of his cheek, a soft gesture, one to purposely mislead him.
“Oh Lando,” you whispered, your smile growing warm. “Tu as le QI d'une huitre.”
You watched as Lando tried to piece together what you had just told him and he definitely was hoping it was polite because the way your voice sounded like silk made him think you were giving him a compliment. But Lando knew you, so he wasn’t counting on it.
“Tu as..” he mumbled to himself as you laughed. “Huitre? What is that? What’s that mean?”
You patted his cheek, deciding it was best to let him figure it out on his own. He probably wouldn’t have, let’s be honest here, but as luck would have it, Lando spotted one of the two French drivers on the grid headed in their direction.
Lando waved him over and you watched as Pierre slid his phone into his pocket, figuring that the conversation he was about to walk into was much more entertaining than whatever his phone could offer him.
Much like Lando, Pierre still wore his driver's suit, the upper half unzipped and hanging loose around his hips. He greeted Lando with a fist bump and congratulated him on his P5 starting position, and then he turned to you.
Your relationship with Pierre wasn’t awkward, but this was the first time you’ve seen him since finding out he told half the grid you slept together. In his eyes, nothing was wrong but you were uneasy around him. He gave your arm a gentle squeeze, something he often did when he walked past and just had time for a quick hello, something that you used to love because it told you that Pierre wasn’t disregarding you, he cared about you. And now you found yourself tensing, just for a moment, but you simply didn’t want him touching you.
You thought that you putting on a good poker face and acting normally, but Lando noticed right away how apprehensive you were about Pierre's gesture. Instead of allowing there to be a lull in conversation for Pierre to also notice and call you out on it, Lando acted fast. He draped his arm over your shoulders and pulled you closer to his side, creating a bigger gap between you and Pierre.
“Gasly can you translate something for me?” Lando asked him. “Little Leclerc here said ‘tu as le huitre’ what the hell does that mean?”
“Tu as le que huitre…” Pierre shook his head seeing as Lando was missing a few words. “That doesn’t make any- oh, tu as le QI d'une huitre.” He looked at you, a smile curling up on his lips as he continued talking to you in French, “Oui? C'est ce que vous avez dit?” That’s what you said?
You nodded, but part of you hated that Lando couldn’t understand your words. You didn’t want to be able to have a private conversation with Pierre, you didn’t even want to talk to him right now. Lando being left out left you open to a sense of vulnerability with Pierre.
So you switched back to English, “He told me he liked when I spoke French.”
Pierre chuckled, “I don’t think that’s what he had in mind.”
Lando tightened his arm around you, putting you in a headlock for a second, “Will someone please tell me-”
“You have the IQ of an oyster, mate,” Pierre interjected, ending the translation with laughter. “That’s what Y/N said.”
Lando tilted his chin to look down at you, brows pinched, eyes narrowed, lips pressed together tighter. He was definitely taking back that compliment right about now and all you could do was offer him a guilty smile.
“I’m a lot smarter than an oyster,”
“Okay.”
“Why are you so cruel to me?”
“Why do you pronounce cruel like crool?”
Lando squinted at you, not able to come up with a suitable answer. And because you were finally within reach, you took this opportunity to snatch your sunglasses from the collar of his shirt and slide them on your face.
“Am I missing something here?” Pierre suddenly asked. Both you and the McLaren driver turned to him. Pierre was wagging his finger between the two of you, looking as if he was trying to solve a puzzle and somewhere between the close contact of you and Lando he'd find the last piece.
You shook Lando’s arm off of you, “What do you mean?”
“You’re-” he stopped short, licking his lips before changing his choice of wording. “I don’t know, Y/N, you don’t usually flirt out in the open like this.”
You crossed your arms over your chest, “Excuse me?”
Pierre held up a hand defensively and tried to play the observation off with a breath of laughter, “I’m not wrong. It’s entertaining, for sure, but you’re always so worried about Charles seeing, are you not?”
Were you flirting?
Every once and a while you’d flirt with Carlos, just for fun because you both knew it meant nothing.
But even Charles called you out on it earlier, for flirting with his teammate. Maybe you weren’t as subtle or maybe you just didn’t care if Charles was a witness to it anymore.
And Lando…honestly you weren’t even aware you were doing anything. You were just having fun, trying to get on his nerves while simultaneously hoping to make him smile. That wasn’t flirting, was it?
Or maybe Pierre was projecting. You never flirted publicly with him, he was your brother's best friend for christ's sake. Charles would find a way to ban you from the paddock if he caught wind of you two becoming a little too friendly.
You went with that option. It was easier than admitting that you were in fact being careless.
“I think you’re a little jealous,” the corner of your lip twitched into a smirk. Even Lando tried to hide his snicker, probably having thought the same thing.
As soon as you said it though, you regretted it. You recognized the mischievous glint in Pierre’s eye, one that practically screamed he had no reason to be jealous of Lando. Lando wasn’t the one you slept with. Lando never saw you the way he did.
And even though all three of you knew what took place, Pierre wasn’t going to say anything, still under the impression you were thinking he had kept it a secret.
You didn’t want him getting away with it. You wanted to slap that arrogant expression right off his face. The last thing you wanted was for Pierre to be able to walk away from this conversation with a higher sense of self than he already had.
But you also weren’t going to cause a scene in the paddock. Whatever conversation you wanted to have with Pierre, could wait.
“Good luck tomorrow,” you told him, forcing the wish through gritted teeth. You turned to Lando, “Where are you headed?”
“Where- what?” Lando repeated.
“Where are you going right now?” You asked. “I’ll walk with you.”
Pierre got the hint. You were purposely ignoring him and making an effort to not include him in the paddock. Your body faced Lando’s, a physical barrier between you and Pierre and you had the feeling he would call you out on it later. He too wasn’t going to get into any of this in the middle of the paddock.
“McLaren motorhome,” Lando finally answered. He nodded his head towards Pierre, “I’ll see you later, mate.”
Pierre seemed a little annoyed, but said nothing as he turned around. You waited until he was out of earshot before releasing a heavy breath.
“I just don’t want to be around Pierre.”
“Yeah I think that was pretty obvious.”
He then nudged his elbow against yours, wanting you to uncross your arms and loosen up a little. You did, reluctantly, but it was easy to push Pierre out of your head when Lando was giving you one of his classic grins.
You started to back up, “I won’t actually walk with you, you’ve probably got-”
“I want you to walk with me, though,” he cut you off, starting off in the McLaren motorhome direction. “Just don’t call me an oyster.”
“I didn’t call you an Oyster.”
“Fine, don’t compare me to one.”
You glanced around, wondering if continuing on your walk with Lando was really the best idea right now. You enjoyed his company, but you didn’t want people to get the wrong idea. The more you accompanied him, the more likely people would be coming to their own conclusions.
But with Lando’s encouraging head nod beckoning you to walk with him, followed by a smile you really couldn’t say no to, you found yourself at his side, on the way to the motorhome.
You tapped his arm with the back of his hand, “You know that this-” you gestured between yourself and him. “-we, you know, this whole thing it’s not- it’s not real, Lando.”
Lando seemed unaffected by your words, yet another rejection he was going to ignore, “What’s not real?”
“Like if I flirt with you, it doesn’t mean anything,” you clarified.
He nodded once. And then again a few seconds later as if it really sunk in.
“Well, maybe if you let me take you out on a real date-”
You pushed your shoulder into his, shoving him towards the middle of the paddock as he laughed, the last of his sentence fading into the air.
“Okay fine,” Lando cleared his throat, strolling back towards you after adjusting the suit on his hips. “What if I get a podium?”
“I’m not following.”
“Will you go on a date with me, a real one, if I land a podium tomorrow?”
You actually laughed at the thought. Lando rolled his eyes, trying not to be personally offended by your reaction.
“Lando, just focus on your race,” you said, trying to mask your amusement by scratching the corner of your lip. “If you do better than Lance, maybe you’ll move up the ranking. A date isn’t going to do anything to help you.”
He shrugged innocently, “What if I just want to go on a date with you?”
“Why?”
“Why?” He repeated back, quite loudly might you add. You both looked around you but no one was paying either of you any attention, “Y/N come on, why wouldn’t I want to go on a date with you? You’re-” he took in a sharp inhale, “I mean, you’re stunning, for starters.”
“That’s it?” You raised your eyebrows. “My appearance? That’s all I have going for me?” You swiftly turned on your heels, “See ya’ later, Norris.”
“Hey, no, come on now.”
Lando was quick to grab hold of your wrist and tug you back. The sudden turn made you stumble over your own feet and you fell directly into his chest. Lando’s hand slid up your arm to help you regain your balance, but he didn’t let go of you once you were upright again.
He took a breath.
“When I see you during race weekends, my mood instantly improves,” Lando said, but he didn’t say it in a way that told you this was a sudden realisation. This was something he had known for a while, but never shared with you. “You’re so fun. I can be myself around you and you also grew up around motorsport so you’re familiar with this lifestyle. And I love talking to you, Y/N, even if it's just for a few minutes before I have to go to qualifying or- or now as we walk down the paddock and then go our separate ways. Your looks are- well they're definitely a plus, but they're not why I like you. I promise.”
You were speechless.
Genuinely, not a single word came to mind. Lando wasn’t one to just spurt out a string of compliments, let alone to you.
“Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe I want to go on a date because I just like spending time with you?”
“But the-” your mouth felt dry. “My ranking?”
Lando shrugged, “Well if I move up then that’s just an added bonus.”
Still, you were hesitant. His words were heartwarming, probably the nicest things you’ve heard in a long time, but you couldn’t just casually agree to go out with him.
The only upside was, Lando scoring a podium in his McLaren was extremely rare. He had yet to so far this season, it was unlikely one would come for him tomorrow.
“Fine,” you nodded firmly. “If you get a podium, I’ll go out with you.”
Lando seemed taken aback, like he didn’t think you’d actually say yes. Any other day, you wouldn’t have. But the podium ultimatum and his strangely out of pocket compliments pushed you towards possibly giving him a chance.
“What if I win?”
“Don’t push it.”
Lando’s head tipped back as he chuckled, “Come on, what if I win?”
Your arms flailed out to your side as you thought of something on the spot, “I don’t know, Lando. I’ll sleep with you.”
Lando’s eyes widened more than you thought possible and his jaw fell open. His grip on your arm loosened, probably because he couldn’t focus on anything other than staring right at you, completely frozen.
You lifted your hand to his chin to gently close his mouth, “I was joking.”
“But- you-” Lando sputtered, having trouble forming a coherent thought. “You can’t just say that. For Christ's sake, how am I supposed to do anything for the rest of the day?”
“Again, it was a joke,” you felt the need to repeat yourself so Lando didn’t get any hopes up. He was a guy. And like most guys, they thought with their dicks 9 out of 10 times. “Just focus on the race, okay?”
Lando’s head fell backwards and he looked up to the clear sky, looking for some sort of higher figure that could give him the answers he wanted. You patted his cheek before playfully pushing him in the direction of the McLaren motorhome.
“I’m going to go find Charles,” you said, using his silence as a reason to part ways.
You barely got a few feet away from Lando when he snapped out of his little daze and called after you, “But you weren’t joking about the date, right?”
“Focus on the race, Lando!” You called back, cupping the side of your mouth. You watched as he gave you one last eye roll and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t notice him trying to subtly adjust himself through his racing suit.
When you left to go find your brother, you had no idea that Lando would be replaying your words in his head for the remainder of the day.
If you get a podium, I’ll go out with you.
And if I win?
I’ll sleep with you.
He knew it was a joke, the sleeping with him part, but that didn’t mean it didn’t motivate him.
You were clueless to the fact that Lando paid more attention than normal during his post qualifying debrief. He usually gave the team anywhere from 90-95% of full focus, discussing his results, the strategies for tomorrow and everything in between. But today, it was 110%. Asking more questions and repeating them back for clarification. He wanted to get the most out of the car tomorrow, he wanted the date with you.
When you were sitting in the hotel lobby, chatting with a member of the Ferrari team, you weren’t paying attention when Lando walked through the doors. Up until now, neither of you were aware you were even in the same hotel, but Lando spotted you quickly. How could he not? Your captivating eyes and bold smile lit up the lobby at the end of a busy day. He was tired and ready for bed, but if you had noticed him and invited him to sit down, he would have happily nestled onto the couch next to you.
And Lando didn’t know that when someone called his name, you heard it. A faint ‘Lando’ echoed through your ear and momentarily pulled you away from your conversation. You weren’t trying to be rude when you looked over your shoulder and away from the team member, but you wanted to know if Lando was really in the room.
Sure enough, the second you found him leaning against the corner in the elevator, the doors slowly started to shut. He was looking down at his phone and hadn’t been watching you, but you didn’t know that he had been watching you up until he stepped into that steel box.
If you had caught his eye a second earlier, you probably would have ended your conversation and caught up with him to join him on the ride up. Just so you could have a few extra seconds to chat with him, see if you could an eye roll or two out of him before going your separate ways again.
Because for some reason, you really fucking liked talking to him too. He annoyed you at times, but in a way where you couldn’t actually stay mad and found some joy between his teasing. You could be yourself around him too, there weren’t any guards up around Lando.
You could admit you hung around outside the doors of the Ferrari motorhome longer than normal on Sunday, just in case Lando walked by. Was it so wrong that you wanted to wish him well before the race?
But as luck would have it, Lando wasn’t the driver to walk by and grab your attention. You looked up from your phone just in time to see Pierre making his way up the bright red steps.
“Can we talk?” He asked, but he only phrased it as a question for show. He wasn’t going to give you an option to walk away. Pierre leaned against the railing opposite of you.
“About?” You slid your phone into your pocket, head tilted innocently at the French driver.
“Yesterday,” he said. “There was just a bit of tension, Y/N, and don’t tell me there wasn’t any. I just want to know if we’re okay.”
You played dumb, “Why wouldn’t we?”
“Well I-”
“Because I was under the impression we would act as though what happened at Christmas didn’t happen,” you interjected sharply, a hint of sarcasm in your voice as you let Pierre piece together what you knew. “I sort of assumed that we would move on and be friends and that we wouldn’t tell anyone. So unless…something changed…why would there be tension, Pierre?”
You practically spelled it out for him. Something had in fact changed. Pierre didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut.
He dragged his hand over his face, “What did Lando say?”
“It doesn’t matter what Lando said!” You exclaimed with a bitter laugh. “We agreed to not say anything and yet you’ve gone and told half the grid!”
“Half the grid is a bit of a stretch.”
“I’ve told no one.”
“Well it’s different for you.”
“You’re such an ass,” you scoffed. “I don’t want Charles finding out, Pierre.”
“He won’t!”
“He will if you don’t stop talking to people about what happened six months ago,” you started to ascend up the stairs, having had enough of this conversation.
You had just reached for the handle when Pierre suddenly yelled out, “I’m sorry.”
All you could do was glance over your shoulder, “If you were sorry, you wouldn’t have done it, Pierre. We both knew sleeping together was a mistake but I didn’t regret it,” you paused, releasing a soft breath. “Now I do.”
You walked into the motorhome without giving him another chance to apologise and you stayed there until it was time to head down to the garage. All hopes of seeing Lando had now vanished, you didn’t want to step outside and see anyone.
Was Lando disappointed when he walked past Ferrari and didn’t see you anywhere? A little, but he wouldn’t admit it. He thought maybe he’d catch you before the race, most drivers headed towards the garages at the same time anyway.
And when that time came, he spotted the bright red attire of Carlos and Charles, but you weren’t anywhere to be found. He even went the long way to the McLaren garage just to try and sneak a glance into Ferrari and see you in the visitor booth, but you weren’t there.
You didn’t show up until minutes before the cars were wheeled out towards the grid. You wished Charles good luck and grabbed a headset, finding a spot in the booth beside the VIP guests and family members.
When you glanced at the screen, your eyes landed on Lando sitting in fifth.
You would always root for a Ferrari 1-2, but what if Lando found himself on the podium today?
There were no words exchanged since you left him in the paddock yesterday. You doubted the date idea was forgotten about, but you wondered how serious Lando was about using it as motivation.
Not wanting to think too much about it, you focused on the race, something you've been telling the drivers to do for the last 24 hours.
The first ten laps, nothing happened. Charles kept his second place position, Lando dropped down to seventh.
By lap 11, George, who was in third, spun out, taking himself out of the race and Checo as well.
The safety car helped Lando catch up and because two cars were officially retired, he found himself in fifth, fighting for fourth.
A close call from Max earned him a five second grid penalty and when he went into the pits, his team unintentionally screwed him over. The wrong tyre was grabbed and his pit stop, that shouldn’t have been any longer than 8 seconds, ended up being almost twenty. Equivalent to an hour during a race.
Suddenly Lando was in fourth.
Charles led the race, Carlos behind, Lewis in third.
There was no way Lando had better pace than Lewis, not in that shitbox of a McLaren that seemed to provide horrible results week after week.
But then Lewis started struggling with degradation and Lando was catching up.
It was nearing lap 67 by the time Lando was within DRS range. You held your breath each time he activated it, letting his rear wing open. Each corner brought him closer and closer to Lewis.
And you had no idea what his end result was. When it became clear that the team was going to get a Ferrari 1-2, the crowd of you ran towards the gates to be able to celebrate with the drivers when they parked. As much as you wanted to see the battle between Lewis and Lando, you had to be there for your brother.
So you ran with the team, screaming in excitement when the chequered flag was waved at the end of lap 70. Charles taking home a win, Carlos close behind. They parked their cars in front of the banners labelled 1 and 2 and shared a congratulatory hug after stepping out of the cockpits.
But who got third?
Your view was blocked, you genuinely had no idea who crossed the line after Carlos. You wouldn’t know until the third place car finished their cool down lap and pulled in, which should be happening any second now.
You gave your brother a hug, squeezing his arms, all while keeping an eye at the end of the lane.
And then your question was answered.
The bright orange car drove up and came to a sudden halt in front of the third place banner. The McLaren crew crowded the barrier next to everyone from Ferrari, ready to congratulate the British driver.
Time froze for you as he climbed out of the car, fisting pumping the air. This was his first podium this season. He was overjoyed, he was walking on air, he was on top of the fucking world.
And then he took his helmet off and spotted you.
Lando should have gone directly for his team. He should have jumped into their arms and celebrated with them, but he used Carlos as an excuse to be near you. He patted Carlos on the back, the two of them sharing the same level of excitement, before he turned to you.
You held your breath as he leaned in, a wicked smile on his face, he didn’t even care that he was surrounded by a sea of red or that his team was waiting for him or that the media was definitely catching how you were the first person he approached after landing himself a podium.
You barely caught his eye before he dipped his face towards your ear, speaking only loud enough for you to catch his words.
“You free tonight?"
All you could do was nod.
Lando pulled away, but not before brushing his hand over your arm, sending a chill down your spine.
"Perfect."

The air conditioning rattles gently, keeping you company. You’re sat at the bar of The Hard Deck, reading the book that’s been sitting forgotten on your nightstand for months. Outside, you can hear the cheering and yelling coming from the Dagger Squad, who are playing their new favourite game – Dog Fight Football. Ever since Maverick introduced it, they’ve been hooked, finding any reason to gather at the beach and take each other down.
You man the bar while Penny sits on the beach, watching her partner and his team sprint across the sand. Inevitably, soon they’ll all come running inside, requesting water, beer, and popsicles to cool their heated skin and flushed faces. You prefer to shelter yourself away from the sun during the day, and make the most of the warm summer nights that seem to last forever. You’re already mentally planning your evening – you’ll finish your shift, grab a drink, and walk down the beach, perhaps taking your book with you. You’ll sit on the cooling sand, rest your legs, and stay there until the ocean breeze gives you your cue to leave. You’ll offer Jake to join you, and he’ll make a big show of being sarcastically reluctant – but he’ll never say no to you. Those sunset conversations have become the best part of your days – and his.
Your friendship with Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin is a seemingly unlikely one. Arrogant, charming, decorated Naval Aviator meets intelligent, determined, stubborn waitress. When the Dagger Squad arrived in town for the uranium mission, Penny had given you a sarcastic, but slightly genuine warning.
“You better watch out, you know”, she says in passing one night. You quirk your eyebrow at her questioningly.
“These pilots. They’re gonna be all over you. Fresh new eye candy for them to fight over.” She winks at you cheekily and leaves you to serve another customer.
You knew it was always just convenience, for the Aviators. You were pretty, and witty, and served them their drinks every night. You were in their line of sight. They didn’t really want you, you were just available. Easy. Or so you thought.
Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin showed up that night with the confidence of ten men. The minute he laid eyes on you, you felt it. Some sort of shift. A crack in your universe.
He’d sidled up to the bar with a swagger in his walk that should have been off putting – but strangely wasn’t. The moment you heard that thick drawl flow like honey from his lips, you knew you’d have to use every ounce of self control you possessed. He was gorgeous.
And cocky.
The man had gotten accustomed to having women throw themselves at his feet. All he had to do was flash that gleaming smile, and he’d have girls dropping their barriers – and their underwear. He was a ladies man, and he knew it. You were aware he only ever spent a night with them – having had to rescue him from many awkward confrontations at the bar, usually along the lines of, “why didn’t you call me back?” and “you said you’d make breakfast!”.
You, however, became the exception to his rule. You didn’t expect anything from him, just his kindness, which he would happily give you by the tonne. Your kindness though, is what started your friendship in the first place. Or maybe it was stupidity. You were still deciding.
It was a Friday night at The Hard Deck. The Squad were over by the pool tables, drinking, and throwing darts. You’d been subtly watching Hangman from your position behind the bar. He was bragging to Coyote about being able to hit the bullseye with his eyes closed, and proceeded to demonstrate. He closed his eyes, hit the target, and reopened them to be met with an angry brunette with a point to prove.
“Excuse me, Hangman! You think you can just sneak out of my house, not call me, and then come in here and play darts like nothing happened?”
She jabs her finger angrily into his chest, but he doesn’t move. Stubborn man.
“Sweetheart,” he drawls, “let’s not do this here. I’m sorry I didn’t call. But I thought you knew; it was just a one time thing.”
He lays his charm on thick, and you see her falter for a minute. You’re almost willing her to give up, and save herself the inevitable embarrassment. But lo and behold, she continues.
She’s shouting now, yelling about his treatment of women, and how he should be ashamed, how he led her on with his false intentions. His squad are watching silently, attempting to stifle the laughter that threatens to bubble up between them. Javy has managed to take a few subtle steps back, as if to get as far away as possible from the danger zone.
She’s still yelling, and he’s just stood there, with that damned smirk on his face, taking it. You know whatever he’s going to say next is undoubtedly going to shred the poor girl’s self confidence, so, without much thought, you move from behind the bar, and make your way to the scene.
Placing your hand on his ridiculously toned bicep, you look up at him, praying that he’ll understand what you’re trying to silently say. You’re saving him.
“Babe, what’s going on?”, you ask cluelessly, as if you hadn’t been watching the entire situation unfold from mere feet away.
“Babe?”, she yells, more at the universe than at either of you.
Jake, for once, doesn’t quite know what to say. So, you continue.
“Yeah. I have no idea what’s happening, but I think we should talk.”
You look at him pointedly, and he seems to get the message. You apologise to the girl quickly, and drag Jake away, through the bar and out of the back door, into the cool evening air. You speak before he has the chance to.
“Please, Hangman. Keep your soap opera disaster of a love life out of my bar. No one wants to see it.”
It’s your turn now to jab your pointer finger into his chest. You expect him to snap back with a sarcastic remark, or to laugh. But he doesn’t. He just looks at you. Really looks. As if he’s seeing you for the first time, despite you serving him his beers every time he comes into the bar. Eventually, he speaks.
“You really are an angel, aren’t you?”
It’s your turn to look at him now. That wasn’t what you expected. You scoff, and raise your eyebrows at him.
“Seriously, Jake. It isn’t my business what you do with your spare time, but please, save us all from having to watch the car crash every week.”
He laughs. A real, genuine, hearty laugh, that settles itself into your ribs, into the cavity of your chest. You’ve never heard him laugh like that. It makes you like him more. Damn.
“I’m kinda done with it all anyway.”
“Done with what?”
“The sleeping around. One night stands. None of those girls are half as interesting or half as pretty as you.”
He’s looking at you again. You’re determined not to let him get under your skin, so you bark,
“Yeah, right. Bet you say that to all the girls, huh, Seresin?”
He laughs, and then pauses, million dollar smile still etched on his face.
“I’m serious. You won’t have to rescue me like that again, Angel. That’s a promise.”
He winks at you, and you swat his arm, before grabbing his hand and leading him back inside.
That was months ago.
Since then, you’ve spent an increasing amount of time with him. Laughing, joking, teasing. His friendship is more valuable than his weight in gold, you’re convinced, and you lower your guard ever so slightly. He’s worth letting in. You know he is. Warnings be damned.
You smell him before you see him when he enters the bar. He smells like cologne, salt, and sunshine – so distinct, so Jake. You’d bottle it up if you could, store a vial in every room in your house.
You feel him before you see him when he makes his way over to you. Feel his body get closer, the heat radiating off him. You can almost feel the salt on his skin when he plasters himself against your back, kissing the top of your head affectionately.
“Mmm, you smell good. What you reading, Angel?”
He’s moved to sit on the stool next to you. At this angle, you get a better look at him. He’s not wearing a shirt, golden skin on display. Begging for you to touch it, run your fingers along it, your tongue. You know he’d taste like the ocean and the sky simultaneously. Sunshine boy.
You pull yourself back to reality, and show him the cover of your book.
“Ah, smart girl.”
The praise lights up your bones, seems to settle into your ribs. You know, like all friendship does.
You look at him, and clock him watching you. He’s looking at you like you hung the stars in the sky.
Jake Seresin is in love with you.
You can see it clear as day, all of a sudden. Like you’ve been looking at him through a fog, a mist, and it’s evaporated without a warning.
He’s in love with you.
Unbeknownst to you, he’s kept his promise from that night. No more girls, no more one night stands. Since that evening, he’s only had one woman on his mind. You.
You’ve become suddenly aware of all of this, and you don’t know what to do with it. What about your friendship? What if this jeopardises everything? Losing him would be your worst nightmare. You’d rather have him as a friend than not have him at all.
But then, you realise, that’s not going to happen. Because he’s in love with you. And like a freight train, it hits you. You’re in love with him. You have been since the moment he stepped foot in the bar, all self-assured attitude and golden hair and bright eyes. You’re in love with Jake Seresin and he’s in love with you and the world is suddenly making sense. The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle has been placed and you don’t know whether to laugh or cry or scream or dance or all four or none at all.
So you stand, and make your way behind the bar. You slide a glass of ice cold water in front of him, and grab an orange. It’s ripe, bright and feels like a ball of light in your hand. A promise.
You sit back in your original position, on the stool next to his, but turn to face him. Carefully, you peel the orange, bit by bit. Juice runs down your fingers onto the palm of your hand, and without thinking, Jake grabs your wrist and traces the journey of the drop with his tongue. You look up through your lashes and smile at him gently, and continue to peel, slowly, deliberately. When you’re satisfied, you split the orange, and hand one half to him.
The air conditioning rattles gently, keeping you company. You eat in silence, stopping occasionally to inhale the smell of citrus, salt, and sunshine.
Jake reaches out as if it’s the most natural thing in the world, and runs his thumb across your bottom lip carefully. He places his thumb in his mouth, and sucks gently.
You’re not sure if it’s you, or him, or gravity, but somehow, you’ve ended up sat with your legs in between his, facing each other. Orange finished, he leans in, and brushes your lips with his. He tastes like citrus, and salt, and sunshine. So distinctly Jake, that you’d bottle it if you could. He pulls back, resting his forehead on yours. There’s a warmth emanating from him that you’re sure isn’t solely from the sun. You haven’t been outside in hours, and you’re omitting it too.
It feels like hours that you sit there, foreheads pressed together, orange peel abandoned on the bar top. Neither of you needs to speak. You both know exactly what the other person is thinking.
Jake Seresin is in love with you. Nothing else matters.

Yesterday’s game had been rough. A few unfair calls, more fights than usual, and a lost at the end. Trevor said he needed to go blow off some steam so him, Jamie, and a couple of the other guys were going out. Trevor always invited you out with him, even when he wasn’t really supposed to.
The two of you were laying in your bed. Both naked from the activities that had taken place only minutes ago. No, the two of you weren’t together, you were just best friends and roommates who occasionally hooked up and maybe you felt something more but you’d never never be the first to admit that.
When he asked you to go with him he had to beg you to come, you told him you had some assignments to catch up on but he gave you those stupid puppy dog eyes and pout and you instantly caved.
That’s how you found yourself getting ready to go out. When you went out partying you always loved to get dressed up, it was fun and made you feel amazing. As you looked through your dresses you found the one you had recently bought. It was a little tighter than your other dresses and a lot shorter. This was the perfect opportunity to break it in.
From the bathroom, where you were doing your hair and makeup, you heard Jamie and Trevor walk into your room and fall onto your bed. Nobody said anything, there was just a comfortable silence.
“The Uber is gonna be here in 5,” Trevor finally broke the silence. You made one last finishing touch before walking out of the bathroom. You still didn’t say anything to either of them, and they were too lost in their phones to notice you. You walked to look at your shoe options. You couldn’t decide.
“Guys, which one? These or these?” You faced them and held up two different pairs of heels. For the first time since they had walked into your room they looked at you. Both of their jaws dropped. Jamie quickly closed his mouth then looked at Trevor with a smirk.
“That’s new,” Trevor stuttered. You smiled, surprised that he noticed.
“Yes it is. Do you like it?” You asked, doing a spin to show the whole dress. Trevor just quickly nodded his head. “Now, which pair?” You asked again.
Jamie finally looked back at you and at the shoe options. Trevor was too busy checking you out to help. Thankfully, Jamie wasn’t. With a nod you put on the one he chose. Right on time the Uber driver said they were here.
You sat with Jamie on your left and Trevor on your right. Jamie and you were the only two talking. Trevor was silent, he just stared out the window. You placed your hand on his thigh and felt him tense up making you quickly pull your hand away.
“Are you mad at me?” You asked, genuinely confused as to what was wrong.
“No, not at all,” he said with a forced smile. You weren’t really convinced but you let it go. You nodded before going back to your conversation with Jamie.
When you finally arrived at the club you all got out and Trevor paid and thanked the driver before turning to you and Jamie. He walked to the door, still not really acknowledging you. You looked over at Jamie and he just shook his head and rolled his eyes. You sighed before following.
They led you to where the rest of the group was. After greeting each other you made conversation with some of the girls, from the corner of your eye you could see Trevor trying to act like you weren’t there. You needed a drink. You turned to Jamie.
“I’ll be back.” You walked away after he nodded his head. When you made it to the bar you smiled at the bartender.
“Hey, what can I get you?” He asked.
“I honestly don’t know,” you laughed as you looked at the little laminated menu. He chuckled back and leaned forward on the bar.
“This one is really good if you’re looking for something sweet.” He pointed. “And this one is really good if you’re looking for something strong.”
“Surprise me,” you smiled as you looked up at him. Your faces close but neither of you pulled away.
“One surprise coming right up,” he smiled, finally leaning back to make your drink.
You watched in awe as he made your drink. You felt your cheeks heat up as you two playfully bantered. When he was done he placed it in front of you.
“What’s in it?” You asked as you looked at the drink in front of you.
“You sat here and watched me make it,” he laughed.
“Yeah well I was a little distracted,” you blushed. He just smirked and looked at the drink.
“Just try it.” He leaned forward on the counter, not as close as before but still close enough that you could see that he had freckles scattered across the bridge of his nose.
“You went with sweet,” you said after you took a sip.
“Seemed appropriate.” He winked.
“Now,” you paused and looked at his name tag, “Andrew do you flirt with all of your customers?” You joked as you took another sip.
“Only the cute ones,” his face scrunched up. “God that was so fucking cheesy I hated that.”
You laughed.

“Guys, which one? These or these?” He heard you ask.
When he looked up and saw you in that dress he felt the air being knocked out of him. His jaw dropped. From the corner of his eye he could see Jamie’s do the same before he quickly composed himself and looked over at him. He could see the smirk on his face and he wanted to punch him.
“That’s new,” he stuttered. He knew every single one of your dresses by memory and this one he had never seen, and it wasn’t like any of your others. This one was shorter and tighter.
“Yes it is. Do you like it?” You asked sweetly as you spun around. He couldn’t say words, he could only nod. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep his feelings a secret. He was only broken from his trance when he heard his phone alert them that the Uber had arrived.
You sat to his left and he couldn’t look at you. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, he wanted to more than anything he just knew that if he did he’d break. He chose to stare out the window instead.
He felt you place your hand on his thigh. It was simple and innocent but still he tensed. You quickly pulled away.
“Are you mad at me?” You asked
“No, not at all,” he forced a smile. He hated that he was making you think he was mad but he didn’t know what else to do. You just nodded and turned back to Jamie. He knew this night was going to be difficult and he didn’t know if he was ready for it.
When you all arrived at the club everyone got out as he quickly paid and said thank you. When he turned he just looked straight ahead and walked in, maybe if he ignored you he’d be able to ignore the growing feelings inside of him.
Quickly he greeted everyone before grabbing one of the unopened beers on the table. He didn’t look at you, even when he could see you looking at him. Finally, he saw you walk away and he felt like he could breathe again. He looked over at Jamie and Jamie rolled his eyes before pulling him over.
“Are you gonna sit here and ignore her all night?” He asked.
“I’m not ignoring her,” he lied and Jamie only scoffed
“Are you gonna stop being a pussy and tell her how you actually feel?” He looked over at you before turning back quickly.
“Dude I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I’m talking about how you’re in love with her and have been for awhile now,” he casually responded.
“What are you talking about? Me in love with her?! No!” His tried to play it cool but he failed, tremendously.
“Okay so if I told you that she’s over there flirting with the bartender you wouldn’t care right?”
He quickly snapped his head to the bar so hard that it hurt but he didn’t care. He saw as the bartender handed you a drink before laughing at something you said. Was that a smirk on his lips? Why was he leaning in? Why was he winking at you? What did he say that could have made you laugh like that? He didn’t like any of that at all.
He turned his head back around and felt his body heat up.
“Nope I don’t care. She’s just a friend,” he lied once again.
“You’re so full of shit,” Jamie scoffed. “Can you please just put us all out of our misery and just admit it so we can end this whole pining situation?” Trevor needed to go clear his head.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” he muttered. He set his beer down and for the first time he realized just how tight he had been gripping it. He made sure to not look if your direction as he passed by.

You honestly didn’t know how long you had sat here talking, but you didn’t mind. You were enjoying his company. The only pauses in your conversation was when Andrew had to go help another customer.
“Would it be completely inappropriate to give you my number?” Andrew asked when he returned.
“No, it wouldn’t.” You watched as he searched for a pen and grabbed an unused napkin. Quickly he wrote his number down before handing it over. You looked it over before setting it back down, hoping not to lose it. Before you could continue the conversation you felt someone walk up right next to you. You looked up and saw Trevor. You rolled your eyes before looking back at Andrew.
“What can I get you man?” Andrew asked politely. Trevor didn’t say anything he just looked down at the napkin with a phone number on it. He picked it up before turning it over to clean up a small spill.
“What the fuck?” You gasped. When he turned the napkin back around and saw that the number was smudged and illegible he smiled.
“Yeah, can I just get another beer,” Trevor looked up at Andrew, who also couldn’t believe what just happened.
“There is plenty extra ones at the table so go get one of those,” you said through gritted teeth.
“I don’t want any of those,” he shrugged simply. He had no right to be acting like this. You hopped off the stool.
“Andrew I’m sorry,” you apologized. “I’ll be right back.” You grabbed Trevor’s wrist.
“I wouldn’t count on it Andrew,” Trevor said. You tugged him harder. When you made it outside you were glad the streets were almost empty. You dropped his wrist harshly before turning towards him with your arms crossed.
“What the hell was that?!” You asked annoyed.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said like a child. You scoffed in disbelief.
“Yes you do. I was having a good time with Andrew and you walked over and ruined that.” He rolled his eyes when you said Andrew’s name.
“Oops.”
“If you’re going to act like a child fine whatever I don’t care just leave me alone.” You walked past him to go back inside.
“He’s not good for you,” he said loudly.
“You have no right to say that. You didn’t even properly talk to him. You acted like a dick.” You turned back around. “First you ignore me in the car and then you ignore me inside and when I finally start having a little fun and I’m really getting along with someone you come over and interrupt!”
“I couldn’t.”
“Couldn’t what?! Acknowledge me? Let me have some fun? Last time I checked Trevor we weren’t exclusive.”
“Yeah you don’t have to remind me,” he whispered hoping you didn’t hear, but you did. That’s when it hit you. You smirked and Trevor rolled his eyes. “What?”
“You know I always knew you were the jealous type.” You stepped closer to him. He gulped.
“Me jealous?! I’m not jealous,” he stuttered.
“Oh so if I went back in there and got Andrew’s number again you wouldn’t care right?” You pointed behind you and took a few step backwards.
“Nope,” he squeaked.
“Okay cool I’ll be right back.” You turned but before you could even take one step he stopped you.
“Please don’t,” he pleaded. You turned to him.
“Why not?”
“Please don’t make me say it,” he whined.
“Say it,” you needed to hear the words come from his mouth.
“You know I’m not good at this stuff.”
“I need to hear you tell me why you don’t want me to go back in there. I need to hear you say it so I know it’s real.” You walked up to him. You grabbed his hand and you felt him relax.
“I don’t want you to go back in there because I don’t want you to flirt or go out anyone else,” he paused and looked you in the eyes. “I don’t want because I want us to be together. I love you, way more than a friend,” his voice was low but you could tell he meant every word he was saying. He closed his eyes, not know how you’d react to his confession, preparing himself for the worst.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited to hear you say those words,” you smiled softly. His eyes shot open.
“If this is some sick joke it’s not funny,” he said in disbelief.
“Do I look like I’m joking?” He looked at your face and saw nothing but adoration. He let out a sigh. “This is the part where you kiss me,” you joked. Trevor wasted no time. His lips were on yours in a heartbeat. Both of you smiled into the kiss. Finally you both pulled away.
“Can we please go home because if we go back in there I might end up punching Andrew in the face,” he said as he placed his forehead against yours. You giggled, knowing he was only slightly joking.

sana x reader - “finally” (“she's better” pt 2) (warnings: smut, angst, arguing, oral, fingering, scissoring[idk if there's a classier word], breast play, praise)
a/n: by popular request, here is the part two to "she's better." this took me so long, i didn't know what direction to take it in. hopefully you guys like the finished result! also, i didn’t include dom+indicators because it switches in the middle!
word count: 1.8k
you wake up to the feeling of warm sunlight on your face. after adjusting your eyes to the brightness, you notice sana is still in bed, hugging you as she sleeps. she would normally be gone by the time you wake up, but you’re glad she’s not.
last night was definitely different, it didn’t feel like the normal ‘just sex.’ you didn’t want to ask sana about it last night, it felt too soon. you’re hoping to talk to her about it today, maybe your relationship could become something more.
“good morning!”
you excitedly remark when you see sana is awake. you turn to hug her, burying your face in her chest.
“morning.”
she turns around, getting out of bed. you’re slightly taken aback by her response, but just brush it off because you’re both barely awake.
“so, last night was…new.”
she stretches, standing up and getting her clothes.
“mhm. i’m going to get ready, see you later.”
she gives you a half smile and walks outside. you sit in bed, confused at whatever just happened. she kissed you last night, she didn’t act like it was another causal hook-up, why was she suddenly being so cold?
you’d be lying if you said you weren’t somewhat angry at her right now, is she just playing with you?
you decide to just forget about it for now, maybe she’ll act differently later. for now, you just get ready for the day. with promotions finished, there’s not much to do until the end of your schedule, so you have the day off again.
you go outside to find everyone at the table, eating breakfast. you take a spot right next to sana, smiling at her. she halfheartedly smiles back and you lean in to whisper in her ear.
“what’s wrong?”
“nothing’s wrong.”
she joins in on the conversation at the table and completely forgets you’re there. why is she back to normal? you thought after last night she’d finally ask to be your girlfriend or at least confess her feelings for you, but maybe you got the wrong idea. maybe sana doesn’t like girls, you got too excited over nothing.
“hey, im sorry about the nayeon thing last night. we all talked about it when you went to your bedroom and realized we took it too far.”
chaeyoung puts her hand on your arm as she apologizes, you tell her it’s fine and everyone continues on with their discussion. you go back to thinking about sana, you genuinely can’t stop. why did she string you along like that? there’s no way she didn’t know what she was doing.
you sit through the rest of breakfast choking back tears. it’s really so foolish of you to be upset over this. sana hasn’t budged in months, why would that change now? as soon as everyone is done eating, you storm off to your room.
you stand there, silently crying and cursing yourself for getting your hopes up. you suddenly hear the door open and look back to see sana. you wipe your tears, putting your hands on your hips.
“hey.”
sana walks closer to you, noticing how red your face is. “hey. you okay?” she brushes your cheek with her finger and cups your face.
“yes. why’d you follow me?”
“well, you came into your room and it’s the middle of the day…”
you roll your eyes and take her hand off of your face. you can’t believe her right now.
“and what? that means i’m ready for you to fuck me?”
she stands silent for a second, looking puzzled “doesn’t it?” you huff in disbelief. “you’re unbelievable sana.”
she’s still staring at you quite baffled at whatever is happening. you’re growing angrier at the fact that she doesn’t immediately know why you’re acting like this.
“i don’t understand.” she crosses her arms, furrowing her eyebrows at you.
“of course you don’t, because i’m just a fun toy for you. you play with me when you’re bored, and ignore me when you’re not.” the words choke in your throat. you can feel yourself about to cry, but you can’t, you can’t show her how truly upset you are.
“what are you talking about? i thought we were both on the same page about this relationship.” your mouth opens in shock. “what relationship sana? we don’t have a relationship, you don’t want a relationship.” you feel a tear stream down your cheek and wipe it away.
“what? you’re the one who doesn’t want a relationship. you’ve never acted like you liked me in the slightest.”
sana walks closer to you. her eyes look glossy, like she’s about to cry.
“sana, when this started, you told me you didn’t like girls. you’re also not one for sticking around.”
“well, you said the same thing.” her eyes fill with tears, but she wipes them away before they fall down. “what was i supposed to say? ‘oh well, i do’ no, sana, i liked you. i still like you. i wanted to have something with you, and this was the only thing you were willing to give me.”
you’re sobbing as your speak, your voice breaking in between sentences. sana walks closer to you, holding your face in her hands. she lifts it up to kiss you, wiping away most of your tears.
“i’m sorry. i only said all of that because i didn’t know how you would react. i know that’s stupid, i should have told you how i really felt.” she kisses you again “i like you…“ she’s stops for second, thinking about her next words. “i love you, i love you so much.”
you hug her tightly, crying into her shirt for a few seconds.
finally.
after so many years being completely whipped for minatozaki sana, you finally know she feels the same way. you heart wants to jump out of your chest with excitement. she wasn’t stringing you along, she felt the same way you did! you were just both terrified of saying what you felt.
“sana, i love you too.”
you kiss again, it feels so much different than it before. it feels primal, you’re fully enveloped in her. the kiss quickly becomes something else, her hands travel to your sides, tugging at your shirt.
“let me show you how sorry i am.”
she whispers against your lips, pulling your shirt off your body. you pull off your shorts and underwear as well, you want her all over you. you try pulling her shirt off as well, but she grabs your hands.
“no, i want this to be all about you.”
“well, what i want is your tits. please.”
you look at her with a pout, she gives you a wicked smile while pulling her shirt off and tossing it aside. you immediately wrap your hands around her breasts, connecting your lips with hers at the same time. she guides you to the bed while still kissing you and pushes you down on it.
“what do you want me to do first?”
she bends down; leaving slow, wet kisses on your neck.
“go down on me, please?” she looks up, smiling. “whatever you want, princess.”
she moves lower, her lips hovering over your skin, letting you feel her breath all the way down. she stops at your dripping core, turning her face to kiss your thigh. you would normally beg her to stop teasing you, but not today. today, you want her to kiss every inch of you.
she continues kissing you, leaving bruises and bite marks with her mouth all over your thighs. you’re dripping onto the sheets at this point, your body aches for some sort of friction. luckily, she’s done teasing you for now. you feel her tongue drag across your folds and slap a hand over your mouth to cover your moans.
she giggles at your reaction and you bring your other hand to her hair. her tongue moves up and down your core, earning low moans from you. she wraps her lips around your clit and sucks on it, fuck she’s so good.
“sana, feels good. please don’t stop.”
you look down at her, delighting in how pretty she looks. she’s still doing the same thing with her tongue, but you can now feel her fingers on your heat. she runs them across your entrance before forcing them in, making you cry out in pleasure.
with the added stimulation, you can feel yourself on the edge already. her fingers curl inside you as her tongue circles around your clit, both in perfect synchrony.
“fuck, sana-“
you finish while moaning her name, your lower body twitching. once she finishes completely cleaning you and her fingers off, she comes up for a kiss.
“you taste so good, princess.”
she gives you an inebriating smirk, bending down to kiss you again. “what now?”
“let me ride you.”
she stops kissing you, widening her eyes in shock.
“huh?”
“you heard me, let me…ride you.”
you push her down on the bed beside you and pull down her shorts, straddling her without waiting for a definitive answer. you push your hair to the side, lowering yourself to her neck. you use your hands to play with her breasts while using your lips to mark her, you want everyone to know she’s yours now.
“lift your leg.”
you order, feeling a sudden rush from being so dominant. she complies, lifting one of her legs over yours. you lower yourself, letting your folds come in direct contact with hers. you both moan and sit still for a second, getting adjusted to the new feeling.
“ready?” you ask down at her and she nods, so you start moving your hips. sana is instantly a whimpering mess, and so are you. you twitch a bit every time your clits rub against each other, she feels amazing. you notice a tear fall down her cheek and you’re surprised at how much that turns you on.
looking down at her in such a vulnerable state is exhilarating. you never thought you’d enjoy this so much, but all you want is to hear is her moaning and whimpering for you, because of you.
“does that feel good?”
she nods and you speed up, making you both grow louder. you know the members are outside but you can barely think about anything but her.
you’re both very close, you can see how flushed she is and how quickly her tears are coming. “you’re so pretty.” you whisper against her skin as you bend down to kiss her chest.
you feel your body tensing, about to reach your high. sana does before you however, squeezing your thigh. her release is all you need to hear before you come completely undone. you slow down, panting as you try to calm yourself.
you stare down at sana, smiling to yourself. she notices your smile once she opens her eyes and asks “are we done?”
“not by a long shot, i want to see you cry more.”

Hi hi ! I was wondering if you would do Amelia Shepherd x fem reader fic where R is the third twisted sister to Cristina and Mer, Amelia and reader have been in a relationship in secret for a while because they afraid of Mer’s reaction. They finally tell her and she gets protective of R but at the end she is very supportive and protects them against a patient’s hate comment? Xoxo
You’re dating my sister?
Summary: see req above!
Pairings: Amelia Shepherd x fem!reader
fluff, slight angst, homophobia, use of a homophobic slur
Word Count: 1.04k
NOT PROOFREAD
SET WHEN MEREDITH DIDNT LIKE AMELIA MUCH IN THE BEGINNING
Reader pov:
One year. One whole year me and Amelia have been dating for. It’s crazy how fast time feels when you’re in love, I do t know what I’d do without her. The only issue is my best friends, Cristina and Metrdith. Not that I’m afraid of their answer, well. I’m not staid if Cristina’s answer.
Meredith’s husband happens to be my girlfriend brother. It’s a minor detail, and you know, Meredith isn’t the biggest fan of said sister. Me and ames have talked it over and we’re going to tell people soon, but leave Mer till last, what could go wrong right?
Cristina went wrong.
“Hey! Cristina!” I whisper yelled across the nurses station.
“If you have another twisted-sisters-almost-died-or-had-a-traumatic-event drama to tell me save it for after my surgery. Please.” She sighed out.
“No it’s not that I have to tell you something. But you can not, and I mean can not, tell mer.“ I insist
“Dann what did you do screw her sister or something?”
I stay silent at this and her eyes go wide. “Oh. My. God. No you did not.”
I nod my head profusely and respond “We’ve been dating for a year Cristina. Me and Amelia, what am I supposed to tell her?!” I start to panic just thinking about all the different ways this could go wrong.
“Ohh I have no idea! Good luck, you’re gunna need it, oh and tell me when you’re telling her so I can watch.” I rolled my eyes as she walked away from me towards the OR to scrub in.
I walk to my patients room pondering ways to tell mer about me and Amelia, it was going to be a long day.
Amelia pov:
“Derek! Come here!” I call out to him across the neuro floor.
“What do you need I’ve got a surgery with Yang in like, 2 minutes?” He says looking bored before I even start talking.
“Hey you could at least act interest in what I’m about to say, oh and don’t tell mer yet. Please.” His interest was piqued at this so he gave me a look as if to say ‘keep going you’ve got me hooked’ so I continued “Me and y/n have been dating for a year, and we are o my just telling people ad were scared how mer will react because she’s not exactly my biggest fan as of right now and her and y/n/n, and Cristina obviously, are like twisted sisters or whatever.” I took a breather after sayibg all that and my brother just looked like he wanted to laugh in my face.
“Well, good luck!” He smiled and walked off to the OR.
Well shit.
Reader pov:
I walk into my patients room still deep in thought when he speaks up, he’s fairly old, around 70-ish and was in for a broken hip. “You seemed pretty serious with whatever you were talking about back there and now I don’t even get a hello? Something’s gotta be on your mind Doctor.” He gave me a knowing smirk as I open my mouth yet no words come out and let out and exasperated sigh.
“Ah you know, trouble in paradise, well, paradise’s surroundings at least.” I say trying to be as brief as possible.
“Happens to the best of us kid.” He seemed like a genuinely nice guy and to be honest I needed a break so instead of getting a nurse to check his vitals I decided I was going to do them, although it seemed someone else had the same idea.
“Hey y/n/n what are you doing here?” I hear a voice I know all too well say from behind me.
“Hi Ames, just doing Mr Davison’s vitals, are you okay?” I say giving her a smile.
“Funny I was just coming to do the same thing.” she walked beside me and trailed her hand lightly over my lower back which didn’t go unnoticed by Mr Davison.
“Your ‘paradise’ is a she? Ugh just another dyke, exactly what we need!” I stare at him shocked, as does Amelia. His sudden outburst seemed to pull some attention from outside and the one person that I didn’t want to walked in, walked in.
“Is everything okay in here?” Meredith asked.
“No get these people away from me! Horrible people you lgqbt whatever people!” He flailed his arms about like a toddler as he was ranting and raving. Immediately Meredith jumped to our defence.
“Excuse you? Who do you think you’re talking to? I have you know you’ve just made and enemy out of the best neuro, general and ortho (sorry callie) in the state. It’s 2024 in the USA for gods sake, get a grip man!” With this she ushered us out of the room and then into an in call room so she could talk to us.
“YOURE WHAT?!” mer practically yelled
“Keep your voice down, yes we’re dating.” Amelia said to mer try help her keep her head on.
“Look Amelia, I love y/n with my whole heart she’s my sister okay? So, if you hurt her, break her heart or do anything to even slightly harm her, I will hurt you twice as much. She’s the best thing that’ll ever happened to you, so don’t screw it up okay?” My heart warmed after hearing just how much mer cared about me and that she would protect me but also slightly concerned she just threatened my girlfriend.
“Yes ma’am.” Amelia murmured clearly slightly intimidated by mer.
“Okay, now that that’s out the way, I’m so happy for you guys!” Me and Ames say thanks and mer’s oager goes off so she has to run so me and amy are left alone in the in-call room.
“I love you Amelia.” I say as I peck her lips and wrap my arms around her neck.
“I love you too y/n/n.” At this she pulled me into a passionate kiss and lowered us both down onto a bed.
When in an unoccupied on-call room…

Faint of Heart | One Shot
Tumblr media
Pairing: Astarion x The Dark Urge
Chapter Count: One Shot | Read on AO3
Word Count: 7,816
Summary: Takes place during the events of Baldur's Gate 3 during Act 2. Explores the romance between Astarion and the Dark Urge as Astarion struggles with a confession. Tags: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Fluff, Humor, Idiots in Love, Confession of Feelings, Mentions of Violence, Soft Astarion, Spoilers for the Dark Urge and BG3 in general, Dark Urge as Original Female Character Rating: Mature
Author's Note: Back on my bullshit with these two. This is a one-shot based on the same Durge MC, Eli, as my other fics. I took some liberties with Astarion's confession scene, taking into account the background of the Dark Urge. It's all somewhat self-indulgent, and I wanted an excuse to write sassy Jaheira and practice writing from Astarion's POV. It's angsty, it's fluffy, it's soft and Karlach is the greatest wingman of them all! Thank you for reading my nonsense.
She stood, looking to everyone else in the Inn like a conquering hero ready to head out once more and face the darkness. She smiled with Rolan, laughed with Cal, chatted with Lia, and no one was the wiser.
Except him.
In their time together, Astarion had picked up on some of Eli’s tells. Behaviors that slipped past her mask of composure and enthusiasm, exposing the truth beneath her carefully constructed veneer.
She was exhausted. He could see it in the slight sag of her shoulders, in the way she kept having to blink and refocus on whoever she was conversing with, in her tired yet reassuring smile…the one she always had at the ready for anyone who came to her with yet another ordeal to hang around her shoulders.
A sudden and fierce burn of irrational anger flared in his chest as he continued to watch people flit around her. It brought to his mind an image of bees sucking the nectar dry from a gorgeous wildflower. They would use her until there was nothing left because that was their nature. They were desperate, all of them. The tieflings, Jaheira, Barcus, Counsellor Florrick…they were all starving for a savior, and Eli was that succor. They’d use her up until nothing was left. They’d watch her kill herself in the name of their ambitions, then hail her as a hero rather than the kind fool she was, always taking on other people’s burdens in some mad, desperate attempt to redeem whatever darkness lay coiled in her past.
Nevermind the fact that Eli’s kindness was exactly what he’d set out to manipulate from the start.
He was just as bad as the rest of them, looking to use Eli for her protection and capabilities. He was just as guilty. He’d seen her compassion as weakness and immediately dug his claws in, hooking into her like a parasite. Seducing her into his bed, stoking affection and twisting feelings – both hers and his – until he couldn’t tell truth from fiction.
And that was the problem.
Somewhere along the way, more and more truth began to slip into the words he used to charm her. He wasn’t sure when it started, but sometime between their passionate nights and hard fought days, genuine feelings began to stir every time he thought of her.
And, gods, he’d hated it.
On that first day after the nautiloid, when he’d discovered he could walk in sunlight and was out of reach of Cazador, he’d swore to never allow anyone control over him again. He’d rather drive a stake through his own heart than be a puppet tethered to someone else’s strings. And yet…here he was, allowing the very first person he’d met after making that oath to have sway over him. And he was utterly terrified he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
And so he sat at a far table in the bustling lounge of Last Light Inn, watching Eli and growing more and more perturbed as people buzzed around her.
Couldn’t they see how tired she was? She’d done enough for them today, breaking Wulbren and his compatriots out of Moonrise alongside the tieflings…well, those tieflings who’d survived the assault in the Shadowlands. Eli had been battered, bloodied and in desperate need of a healer, and yet the moment they’d come upon the prison, nothing else had mattered except freeing those being held captive.
She hadn’t said as much, but Astarion knew her well enough by now to recognize the shadow of devastation that drifted across her expression when Dammon described the attack that had scattered the refugees while on the road. She’d grown close to many of them, back at the Grove, often allowing conversations to drag on far past their welcome as some poor sod carried on about their insignificant struggles. It had frustrated Astarion to no end. They didn’t need to hear all about Bex’s absurd dream of owning a little orange cat with a bell on its neck! That knowledge did nothing to aid the process of driving steel through goblin guts.
It had all come to a head when she’d given Mol gold in exchange for absolutely nothing, spouting off some bullshit about wanting to back the next great thieves guild of Baldur’s Gate. Astarion had pulled Eli aside then, hissing about futile charity and asking her if she intended to bankroll every guttersnipe with a sob story.
She hadn’t missed a beat with her retort.
“Don’t worry, you’re still my favorite of all the guttersnipes I’ve come across. Thank the gods you only ask for blood and not gold. Otherwise, we’d be deadass broke.”
She’d leveled a stare at him that spoke volumes. He’d rolled his eyes and tried to hide the smirk threatening at the corners of his lips. Of course he was her favorite.
Still, it was mind-numbingly infuriating, how far Eli would go to help someone she cared for. What was worse was that Astarion knew, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that she’d do the same for him. That she’d throw herself thoughtlessly into pain, torment and suffering for his sake. At one point, he could not have cared less whether she destroyed herself for his gain.
But those days were gone, and he was now forced to reckon with the fact that he’d grown attached…that he cared. That he’d slit the throat of anyone in this room who tried to take advantage of her. That he’d once been the person trying to take advantage...
The thought now stirred something uneasy and almost nauseous within his stomach. He hated thinking about how he’d treated her, and yet it seemed to be something he was incapable of forgetting. Whatever was between them now, it was founded on something rotten. It had grown out of a lie, and regardless of how he felt now, a part of him knew that in order for anything to continue he would need to confess the vile intentions that had started all of this.
He owed her that, and she deserved it. She’d likely hate him, and all of this would come crashing to a disastrous end…but she deserved the truth, Astarion’s feelings be damned. She deserved to be with someone who would treat her with the same honesty and respect that she showed to everyone else. She deserved to be with someone who would protect her, not lie and manipulate her. She had so many burdens of her own, and yet she kept piling the burdens of others atop them. She deserved someone who would help steady her, not someone who would only get in her way and cause her to stumble.
She was going to hate him. He knew it as surely as he knew the sun would not cut through the gloom over the Shadowlands tomorrow morning. But he couldn’t keep living this farce. He couldn’t keep bedding her and enduring all those feelings of guilt and self-hatred as they mixed with the longing and ecstasy of bringing her to the brink and watching her come undone. It was too overwhelming. He wanted to be with her honestly and openly and not have their time together tainted by his wretched memories.
He wanted something real with her, built on the foundation of what he felt now rather than the putrid intentions that had started all of this.
It wouldn’t happen, he knew. Astarion wouldn’t want himself, either, all things considered. And that was okay. She deserved the opportunity to hate him for how he’d treated her. Gods knew he hated himself for it, it was only fair she hate him, too.
The fact that she didn’t already was astounding. He was a wretched thing, ugly in all ways except for appearance and so useless that he had to manipulate others into fighting his battles. He had ruined so many lives over the past two centuries. He’d been used up until there was nothing left of him to offer. And yet she was always near, never shying away and never overbearing…just always there, always at his back. She didn’t flinch away from him, didn’t pity him, and she made him feel things he’d forgotten how to feel.
The first night they’d spent together had been unexpectedly enthralling and pleasurable, something he had not experienced in he didn’t know how long. And he’d wanted more, despite his confusion and the messiness of his feelings, he wanted more of that connection. And so they’d spent more nights finding comfort and pleasure in each other. Those nights were little moments of solace in a world gone mad.
Those nights had been about more than sex; they were nights where she told him beautiful words that weren’t made for people like him.
“Seldom do I find so little fault with someone. I hope it lasts.” A cool voice caught Astarion by surprise as he sat lost in his darkening thoughts.
His head snapped around, hand instinctively twitching towards a hidden blade at his hip.
Jaheira stood beside him, arms crossed and face unreadable and she pinned him in her stare. Her eyes flitted momentarily to the hand at his waist, and Astarion brought it back to rest on the table he sat at, dagger still fastened to his belt.
The ghost of a self-satisfied smirk flashed across her face as Jaheira glanced away from him and back towards the subject of her comment. He followed her gaze towards Eli and hummed thoughtfully, settling into a more relaxed posture that he hoped did not betray the swirling mess that currently haunted his mind.
“You should tell her as much,” he mused, watching Eli as she pushed a strand of her silver-white hair behind an ear.
The sight caused his mind to pull a memory forth, unbidden. It was tactile and soft, the feel of his fingers tangling in that hair…of his lips caressing the shell of her ear as he whispered ravishing praise for only her to hear.
He took a grounding breath and dashed those thoughts from his mind.
“She thrives on pretty words and compliments,” he quipped.
Astarion wouldn’t elaborate that the reason for it was because Eli had a desperate desire to escape whatever monster dogged her broken memories. She thought of herself as something tainted and corrupt. Something unworthy. He’d got a glimpse of that darkness on the night she’d woken him, panicked and breathlessly ranting about how she feared she would harm him.
At first, he’d thought she was still in the throes of one of her many night terrors, perhaps sleepwalking. The truth had been far more grim, and Astarion was still haunted by images from that night. Images of Eli struggling against the bindings Astarion had put her in, for the protection of them both. Eyes feral as her nails dug into the flesh of her palms, mouth snarling as she spat all manner of vile insults at him. She had lost herself to whatever thing she was keeping at bay inside herself, and Astarion had come to realize that the fear which hounded Eli on both sleepless nights and in nightmares was well founded.
That fear had spread to him, too. Fear of losing her, of watching her be overtaken by this madness. He understood the depravity he saw in her eyes, the mania that was a loss of self when hunger took hold and choked all other sensibility from your mind. He hadn’t felt empathy for another soul in nearly two hundred years, and suddenly there it was, raw and wounding and utterly terrifying. His thoughts screamed back to that year of starvation and darkness, locked in a tomb as he slowly went mad with hunger. Those recollections were an undertow, threatening to pull him down and drown him.
But she’d needed him, and so he’d wrenched himself free of his clawing subconscious and watched over her until morning when she returned to herself. A lot of things changed that night. They’d been changing already, but the lies he’d been telling himself about how he felt simply could not survive the blistering reality of the situation at hand.
There was still some life left in his cold dead heart, and he had no idea how to reconcile with that knowledge.
The sound of Jaheira clearing her throat brought him out of his brooding and he turned his head to find the druid eyeing him curiously, a hand outstretched towards him. A key was held between her fingers and Astarion glanced at it before meeting her gaze, perplexed. Jaheira sighed and took a seat opposite to Astarion at the table, setting the key down on the worn wooden surface of the hightop and pushing it over to him.
“Seems Karlach was speaking truth when she said the two of you were a pair of emotionally-stunted lovesick fools,” Jaheira said, leaning back in her chair and pointing from Eli to Astarion. “You completely tuned me out, staring at her like a wolfhound salivating over a piece of raw steak.”
Astarion tensed at the remark, frowning before he slipped back into his casual and roguish demeanor.
“Yes, yes, make your jokes about the monstrous vampire. How dare he pursue the charming and morally upstanding hero.” Astarion snorted, eyeing Eli ruefully. “I’ve heard it before. Wyll likes to especially harp on the subject.”
He made a mental note to tell Karlach not to be such a gossip.
Jaheira huffed, a noise that could possibly be construed as a laugh, except Astarion wasn’t sure he could picture the stern woman laughing.
“Please,” she said, almost dismissively. “I am not familiar enough with your little band of hedonists to form an opinion on your social dramas. And even if I were, I doubt I’d care.”
The druid turned her head to gaze back towards the bar.
Bex and Danis had joined the group situated around Eli, and Astarion noted that another bottle of wine had recently been opened. Eli was turning down offers to refill her glass and Astarion felt a sudden urge to grab her and whisk her away to the quiet sanctuary of his tent back at camp. And not even to do anything sexual, though if that’s where the night took them, he’d happily oblige.
He just wanted to give her a space of reprieve, somewhere she could rest and escape all this chaos.
“What I do care about,” Jaheira continued, drawing Astarion’s attention back to her. “Is that one’s wellbeing.” She tilted her chin towards Eli. “She is our way into the cult. Our way to get close to Ketheric. She is our key to putting an end to this blight of the Absolute.”
Astarion didn’t reply. He wasn’t sure he trusted himself to open his mouth in that moment. Jaheira was loading more burdens onto Eli’s shoulders, and his desire to hide her away – to protect her – was only growing.
He knew the druid spoke truth. Eli had a connection to all of this that none of them, including her, understood. What they did know was that Ketheric Thorm recognized her when they showed up at Moonrise. He’d addressed her as a comrade, and it deeply unsettled her. What secrets were lying locked away behind Eli’s fractured psyche? A part of him honestly didn’t care…he just wanted her safe…
“So,” Jaheira said after the silence between them lingered for a moment. She tapped the key still lying on the tabletop in front of Astarion. “That is a key to a room upstairs. As well-meaning as the rabble down here is, what Eli needs is rest. The days and weeks ahead will not be easy, and opportunities for respite will be few. Make her take this one.”
Astarion opened his mouth, intending to ask why the hell Jaheira didn’t just go over there and say these things to Eli. But she was well ahead of him and held her hand up in a motion to silence him.
“I have no sway over her. I will only come off as overbearing and fussy, even if I do speak truth.” Her tone took on a hint of amusement, that of an elder and learned lioness affectionately chiding a cub. “I have been informed by Karlach that the two of you are together, yes?”
Astarion stiffened, his mind swirling around all the complications involved with his and Eli’s relationship. Guilt rose up in his throat and he swallowed it down uneasily as Jaheira eyed him curiously. She bullied past the question, not waiting for his affirmation.
“Take Eli upstairs and away from all of this,” Jaheira said, rising from her chair in a motion to leave, her piece said.
She then paused, considering something, before turning back to Astarion.
“It is not my place to say this, but I will, anyway. You seem conflicted about something concerning her. And I don’t want details,” she added hastily, noting Astarion’s discomfort at being called out. “However, I know all too painfully the grief of leaving things unsaid. This life you currently lead, it is one lived day-to-day, and those days will run out. Sometimes, much sooner than expected. Don’t wait until you have nothing left but regret.”
Once again not waiting for a response, Jaheira turned and made her way towards a group of Harpers who were chatting near the Inn’s central firepit. Astarion was left alone with the echo of her words and the key she had provided.
Something squirmed uncomfortably in Astarion’s chest as he rolled what she said over and over in his mind.
Shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit!
She was right, of course. He needed to talk to Eli about them. About whatever this was. About how he’d manipulated her.
Used her.
Astarion groaned softly and ran a hand through his hair absentmindedly - a nervous habit.
Enough! Enough thinking, you wretched pathetic cowardly moron!
Rising from his chair, Astarion grabbed the key and made his way towards the bar, stepping up behind Eli who was currently providing Rolan with a play-by-play of their Moonrise prison break. Gently, he wrapped an arm around her waist and brought his other hand up to rest on her shoulder, pressing a light kiss to the side of her neck as he did so.
Astarion felt Eli’s pulse quicken beneath his lips and smiled as she leaned back into him. He felt a smug sense of satisfaction as he caught Rolan frowning at him, indignant as Eli’s attention shifted away from him and to the vampire.
“Hello, my dear,” he whispered softly into her ear, ignoring the tiefling wizard who looked as if he wanted to set Astarion on fire. “I’m sorry to interrupt you and your adoring fans, but I have some adoring of my own that I need you for.”
It was so easy for Astarion to slip back into his charmingly seductive mannerisms, so much so that he felt a pang of guilt twist in his stomach.
Truth be told, Astarion wasn’t exactly sure how to approach the type of conversation he wanted to have. He’d never done this before, asking to talk about a relationship, so he was winging it and using what tactics he knew to get her away from the crowd and to a more private location.
Eli turned her head to meet his gaze and grinned, placing a hand on the one Astarion had at her waist and intertwining her fingers with his.
“Really, now?” she said playfully. “And what does this adoring entail? Because if a hot bath and a massage are not included, I’m not going.”
Eli’s eyes shined with mischief as her expression settled into a teasing smirk. She kissed him lightly near the underside of his jaw – a reassuring gesture. Eli would go with him, regardless, but she always did enjoy a bit of banter.
“Arrangements can be made,” Astarion quipped as he turned her in his arms and began leading her towards the staircase to the upper floor.
Apprehension was beginning to roil in his gut, but he forced the alluring façade to stay in place.
Eli allowed him to direct her towards the stairs, tossing a wave to Rolan and calling over her shoulder.
“Sorry, Rolan! We’ll chat more later, as I’m currently being commandeered.”
Astarion couldn’t help the smug expression that crossed his face when he heard the tiefling’s miffed response.
“Mmhm, you seem like a very unwilling captive,” Rolan grunted.
Eli laughed.
“What can I say? I’ve got a weakness for pretty words, great sex and a man I don’t have to share snacks with,” she said.
Astarion tried to hold back the surprised bark of a laugh that bubbled up from his throat and failed miserably. He felt eyes on them, some scandalized and others amused - and heard Rolan’s agitated groan - as he led Eli up the stairs.
They reached the second-floor landing and he pressed a hand to the small of Eli’s back, guiding her towards the room.
“Where are we going, anyway?” she asked, trying to stifle a yawn as she spoke.
Safe from the greedy, peering eyes of the mob below, the shift in Eli’s demeanor was almost instinctual. She sagged a bit, weary and leaning into his touch. Hey eyelids fluttered closed for a moment and she drew in a deep, steadying breath.
She truly was exhausted and Astarion began to second guess himself. Maybe this wasn’t a good time to broach such a sensitive topic. She needed rest, not more burdens. Was he being selfish? Trying to offload his guilt just so he could feel better?
But the way she pressed into him, slightly leaning on him in her fatigue and suddenly so disarmed and at ease the moment they were away from the crowd…it caused a gnawing self-hatred to burn deep in his bones.
She trusted him. She felt safe with him. She shouldn’t…he didn’t deserve her affection.
“Jaheira, like the meddlesome elder she is, secured us a room away from all the nagging unwashed masses so you can finally get some peace and quiet,” Astarion said, stopping in front of a door which had the same designation as the key he had been given.
“Astarion, we are the unwashed masses,” Eli chuckled, glancing down at the battered scale mail she wore which was currently spattered with grime, blood and who knows what other less-than-savory substances.
Astarion expression pinched into one of mild disgust as he considered his own leathers which were equally smeared and foul.
“Yes, well, perhaps whatever contemptuous god is overseeing our day-to-day lives has seen fit to grace us with a private washroom? You know, as a way to apologize for all the horror and trauma that surrounds us every second of every day,” he bemoaned in that haughty, vain manner that only Astarion could pull off.
Unlocking the door, Astarion held it open and motioned with a gentlemanly flourish for Eli to enter. She did so, and the pale elf had to suppress a snort of laughter when she called out to him not five seconds later.
“Holy shit! I’ve never had such an emotional reaction to seeing a bar soap before!”
“I would hope we have not become such heathens that soap merits this much enthusiasm.”
“It smells like eucalyptus, Astarion! Eucalyptus!”
-------------------------------------------
There was, indeed, a private washroom.
Eli and Astarion took turns getting cleaned up. Soaking in a tub of warm, soapy water was a scarce luxury. Most days, their motley group was resigned to bathing in cold river water with minnows nipping at their toes as they tried to cleanse themselves with whatever natural herbs and ointments Halsin was able to scrounge up into a paste.
In truth, Astarion couldn’t recall the last time he’d been afforded the opportunity to simply enjoy a bath. Cazador certainly didn’t allow his spawn such niceties, and while he’d visited his fair share of taverns and hotels with rentable rooms while prowling for victims to bring back to his master, he was never able to just…be. To relish in the comfort of it all.
The warm water was soothing, banishing the endless chill of death sunk deep in his bones that was his constant state of being since the night he turned. Eli had washed before him and was now situated on the large plush bed across the room from the tub. A privacy screen blocked their view of one another, but they’d been chatting idly throughout the evening about nothing in particular.
Now, in a lull of silence between them, Astarion’s mind was wandering as he rested with his arms and head propped against the sides of the tub, eyes closed in a moment of calm that was all too fleeting these days. He lazily imagined having Eli in the water with him, her warm body pressed up against his which, for once, wouldn’t be cold and pallid to her touch…wouldn’t be greedily stealing the heat of her skin to warm his corpse.
But, he’d still be stealing her trust to warm his dead heart…
He sighed, feeling the ease of the moment slip away like the tendrils of steam coming off his bath water. He needed to own up to his manipulative intentions. Now. He couldn’t stomach the thought of holding Eli in his arms that night while she slept, peaceful and trusting. Holding onto him like he were something to be cared for, to be cherished. Unsuspecting of the truth…that he was deceitful and lowly.
That they never would have been here, in this room, had he not set out to use her for his selfish gain.
If he didn’t approach the subject now, he may not get another chance for some time. Their days were so overwrought with hardships and schemes that finding a moment of quiet was nearly as difficult as figuring out how to subdue the shadow curse.
Resigned to what he needed to do, and with an icy weight of dread sinking into his gut, Astarion rose from the tub and towled dry. He dressed in his typical casual outfit, a black ruffled shirt and dark trousers, and rounded the privacy screen to see Eli sitting on the bed, legs crisscrossed as she drew in a small leatherbound journal. She’d picked it up in the Emerald Grove, exchanging a dagger with Mattis for it that she’d picked up off some decrepit corpse or another.
Eli had taken to writing rather extensive notes in it about anything and everything; from information about the cult to descriptions of acquaintances and even hand drawn maps of the various areas they trekked through. She’d confided in Astarion that she feared what memories she’d made since the nataloid could one day be lost to her, just as her past was lost. And so she wanted to ensure, should that happen, she had a record she could refer to in order to hopefully reclaim some of what was gone.
Eli had even showed him several pages full of details about him. She’d written down all manner of notes, from little preferences he had – such as the style of embroidery needle he liked to use – to reminders such as: “You’ll figure out he’s a vampire pretty damn quick, Astarion is absurdly terrible at keeping secrets. Don’t be weird about it, he’s cool. He can get a bit whiny and obnoxious when he’s hungry, so make sure to keep him fed, especially if there isn’t much wildlife around. The wrist is for everyday use and the neck is for sexy times. Don’t believe him when he tells you that the inner thigh provides the best tasting blood. This is a kink and he is a liar! RATION ACCESS!”
That had made him smirk.
She’d also shown him two pages of detailed notes describing his appearance, from hair to foot. Eli wasn’t much for artistic talent, but she had a flair for the written word despite the copious amounts of vulgarity that shot from her mouth like dragon fire. The attention with which she’d described him and the complimentary nature of it all had caused his breath to catch at the back of his throat. He’d read the words over and over, actually able to picture his face in his mind’s eye as described. A strange sort of familiarity settled over him as he pictured the details on the page, and when he finally found his voice he’d stuttered a bewildered thank you, unused to the kindness she’d shown.
Now, as he sat on the edge of the bed, he felt a desperate fear burn to life inside himself. What if he never got to experience something like that again? What if their time together over the past weeks was all he ever got? Just a few brief flashes of respite among centuries of misery…
“Feeling better?” Eli asked, jolting Astarion out of his thoughts.
He blinked at her for a moment before clearing his throat and running a hand habitually through his hair.
“Yes…yes, I always feel better when I’m not covered in other people’s bodily fluids,” he said with a halfhearted chuckle that caused Eli to frown curiously and set down her journal.
She could sense something was off. And so with one last internal curse to himself, Astarion launched into one of the most anxiety-inducing things he’d ever done.
“I’ve…been meaning to talk to you. About us,” he said, tone soft and hesitant.
Eli shifted her weight on the bed, turning her body to face him. Her brows had furrowed only slightly, unsure whether she should be concerned about Astarion’s sudden shift in demeanor, yet fully open to listening attentively. Trusting. It made his gut twist.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes, of course!” Astarion responded reflexively, instinctively jumping to make light of any tension. He bit back anymore reassurances before he could spit them out and cleared his throat, voice taking on a more serious tone.
“Except…not really,” he backpedaled.
Eli’s expression grew more worried and Astarion could see her already beginning to play through scenarios in her mind, trying to sort through what she may have done. What wrongs her broken mind may have committed. He sped forward, wanting to absolve her of any notion that she was at cause for anything.
“Look, I had a plan,” he began, turning towards her on the bed. “A nice simple plan. Seduce you, sleep with you, manipulate your feelings so you’d never turn on me,” he chuckled nervously, swallowing down the bile threatening to rise in his throat.
“It was easy…instinctive. Habits from two hundred years of charming people kicked in. All you had to do was fall for it…” His eyes dropped, unable to hold Eli’s stare as her own eyes searched his face, taken aback and confused by the sudden confession.
“And all I had to do was not fall for you,” he continued, glancing back up to her. Desperate for her to hear this next part. “Which is where my nice, simple plan…fell apart.”
Astarion paused, gazing at Eli with a mixture of trepidation and guilt as she watched him silently, stunned and not without a little hurt bleeding into her eyes as his words caught up with her brain.
“You’re…” he started, unsure how to put a voice to the storm wheeling inside of him. He wasn’t as eloquent as Eli, and never had he felt so incapable and inadequate at translating what he felt into words than he did right now. So he said what had been tearing him up from the inside out for days, and braced for the inevitable fallout.
“You’re incredible.” He couldn’t help the touch of a sad smile that came to his lips, or the nearly awed tone of his voice as he said the word like it could encase inside of it everything Eli had come to mean to him.
It wasn’t enough, he knew. No word would be enough. Nor would a thousand words. Because he didn’t understand how to express the way his heart seemed to flutter when she looked at him, despite it being cold and useless in his chest. He didn’t know how to explain the way her smile made him feel like someone worthwhile. Or how when he held her in his arms he thought that maybe…maybe some god somewhere had finally heard his desperate pleas.
“You deserve something real,” he admitted, with no small amount of shame, before adding, “I want us to be something real.”
Confessing to something he wanted, out loud and to someone else, was an experience he was woefully unfamiliar with. It was an experience he fully expected he’d come to regret, but he said it anyway and waited for the pain that was sure to follow.
Eli was quiet for a long moment, peering at Astarion with an expression he couldn’t quite read. He saw confusion and sadness, but there was something else, too. A flicker of something not unlike…understanding?
No, he was surely mistaken…
“So…” Eli said softly, working through her words before she spoke them out loud. Trying to parse through the influx of information coming at her.
“So, this hasn’t been real? Us? Everything we’ve been through. Our nights together…they didn’t mean anything to you…” she trailed off, almost as if she were talking to herself rather than asking it of him.
“Of course they did!” Astarion was quick to correct the assumption.
Gods, he didn’t want her to think that. Of course they had meant something to him, more than he’d thought they could. He’d chosen to be with her, even if it had initially been out of less than innocent desires, he’d chosen it. He hadn’t been forced to seek her out and lure her somewhere. She wasn’t a mark or some wretched experience he wanted to forget. He’d acted of his own free will, and even if the reasons hadn’t been as genuine as he’d made them out to be at the start, it was still the first decision he had made in nearly two centuries that wasn’t directed or forced.
That meant something to him. Those nights meant something to him. And, gods, so did she. That was part of the problem…
And so he explained as much, describing how he was used to twisting intimacy into something to be used rather than felt. How his past experiences with sex were bleeding over into the nights spent with her and that he didn’t have the faintest idea how to fix it. How he had trained himself to be numb, to wall himself off. And how, when Eli had finally, gently dismantled those walls he didn’t know what to do next…
“I don’t know how else to be with someone. No matter how much I’d like to…” Astarion concluded, feeling about as small and insignificant as he’d ever felt.
The silence that followed his confession made his skin crawl with ill ease. He stared at the bedding, terrified to look up and see the fury Eli surely felt. This was it; this was when she’d tell him to leave. And he would, quietly and without fuss. It was the last kindness he was capable of giving her.
“Astarion.” The calm softness of Eli’s voice nearly made the elf flinch. “Please look at me.”
Not a demand, but a request, spoken with care.
Confused, Astarion looked to her and instead of anger or hate or rage, he only found…her. Just Eli, looking back at him with thoughtful consideration. She should have been furious, but instead she simply took a steadying breath, scooting a bit closer on the bed so she could place a hand lightly on his knee.
He didn’t move, didn’t breathe as Eli looked at him and carefully began to speak.
“I care about you, Astarion.” She said it as if she were trying to convince him of the truth of her words, and he was stunned.
“Really?” he asked, breathless and unsure. But hopeful, too. Hopeful that maybe, just once, something in his miserable life might not end in disaster and pain.
“Yes, you beautiful fool!” she nearly laughed, squeezing at his knee.
Eli smiled at him and…gods above, it was the most dazzling and gorgeous thing he’d ever seen.
“Neither of us was looking for anything more than a night of comfort, and maybe some fun, when all of this started. We both had our own self-serving reasons,” she explained, before chuckling lightly. “Hells, I barely had more than a few weeks' worth of memories in my head at that point. Trying to rope anyone into a meaningful relationship was so low on my list of priorities I would have burst into flames on the spot had anyone mentioned the idea to me.”
Astarion couldn’t help the smile that grew on his face as Eli looked at him with an adoration that made him dizzy.
“But, things change. We changed. And, I’m glad that we did. I came to care about you in a way I don’t remember caring about anyone ever. And while that may not be saying much, considering…” Eli laughed and Astarion’s dead heart soared. “You’re special to me, right now. Regardless of how this started.”
This was certainly not how Astarion had expected this conversation to go, and he had never been so overjoyed to have his expectations usurped. He was entirely out of his depth, and so far outside his comfort zone that he was reeling. Words kept building up in the back of his throat and yet when he opened his mouth, he was struck dumb. He was overwhelmed, in the best way possible, but he hadn’t the slightest notion of what he was supposed to say or do next. And so he defaulted to what he knew.
“Well, I mean, of course I am, darling,” Astarion’s voice slipped into a silky tone. Anxiety was roiling inside of him and he tried to claw his way out, using the tools he knew best.
“The unyielding praise I am able to coax from your lips during our nights of passion has made it more than apparent,” he leaned in towards Eli, the tone of his words easing back into sultry familiarity.
Eli just shook her head with a breathy chuckle, meeting his gaze with a genuine affection in her eyes that made Astarion feel known in a way that was comforting.
“That’s not what I meant,” Eli chided with a tenderness that caught Astarion off-guard. “I mean you, Astarion. The person that you are. The person who cares about me enough to watch over me all night while I go mad. The person who is forgiving enough to not hate me the next morning. The person who makes me laugh after a long and painful day.”
Carefully, Eli raises a hand and gently presses it against Astarion’s cheek. He leans into the touch, expression softening and relaxing as his red eyes stay locked in to her own.
“The person who is being honest with me, right now. Who I appreciate more than I can say.”
Astarion was quite certain his brain had seized. He sat frozen, frantically searching her face for any hint of a lie and finding none, to his utter astonishment.
“That’s…” he started, then faltered. He knew he should say something, but his chest currently felt as if it was being wrenched open and no words would suffice to express his amazement.
“I don’t know what to say,” Astarion admitted after his stunned silence wore off. “Which is quite the accomplishment on your part, my dear.”
Eli smiled, warm and without expectations. It was beautiful.
“Thank you,” he breathed, closing the small gap between them and resting his forehead against her own. “For trusting me, and listening. For everything.”
His words were woefully inadequate, and he feared they always would be. But, Eli didn’t seem to mind and that brought him immeasurable relief.
“I’ll always listen,” Eli reassured him as she stroked the side of his face with her thumb. “Considering who you are, it’s kind of hard not to,” she teased.
His expression took on a somewhat sheepish hint as he took her hand from his cheek and held it reverently between both of his. He sat up a bit straighter as Eli pulled away, silently watching him run his fingers across her palm with a light touch.
“What do we do now?” he asked, hesitant and unsure.
Astarion looked to Eli for some sort of direction. He hadn’t thought this far ahead and honestly figured the conversation would have ended in tears or bloodshed or both by now. He didn’t know what a way forward with Eli looked like, but he knew he wanted her with him. Maybe he could ignore the confused and unsavory feelings that intruded upon their nights together? He wanted to enjoy her, to satisfy her without the shadows of past hurts creeping in. Perhaps he could figure out how…
“What do you want to do?” Eli responded, turning the question back onto him and taking him by surprise.
Astarion looked back to Eli, brows raised at the unexpected question. He considered her for a moment, thinking through how to answer. What did he want?
“I’m not sure…” he said honestly. “No one’s ever asked me that before. About anything, really.”
Eli waited, smiling reassuringly, though with a hint of sadness at Astarion’s words. It was freeing, somewhat, to be given the space to think about what he wanted and a chance to put a voice to it. But, it was also a little overwhelming, and truth be told he wasn’t quite sure how to figure it out.
“I know I don’t want to lose you,” he affirmed, squeezing her hand in his.
He did want something real with Eli. The problem was, he didn’t know what real looked like. This was unfamiliar territory for him, and he didn’t even know how in the hells he was supposed to get his bearings.
“I don’t want that, either. You know, we could be together without sex. For however long we need,” Eli suggested, a small smirk playing at the corner of her mouth. “I don’t think I have the best associations with it, either, considering the…things that sometimes pop into my head. Maybe we both could use time to work through those things.”
Astarion considered the idea, a cool rush of relief overcoming him as it truly began to sink in that Eli wasn’t only interested in him for his body and the way it roused it her own. They were good together, really fucking good. But it was becoming more and more difficult to reconcile what he had done in his past, under the subjugation of Cazador, with what he did with Eli now. He didn’t want to treat her like a mark or just another one of his conquests. She deserved better than that from him – to be cherished and worshiped, even ravished, fully and completely and without the haunting presence of ghosts that lurked in the corners of his mind.
“Why that almost sounds like a challenge,” Astarion said, trying to slip back into his sultry mannerisms yet failing to hide the appreciation he felt.
His tone then shifted into something quieter and more tentative as Astarion asked, “Can we…still share a bed? I think I’d miss sleeping in your arms.”
He cleared his throat, eyes darting to the side. The vulnerability behind his question was uncomfortable for him, but he thought maybe he could manage if it kept them from spending their nights apart. He’d grown fond of drifting off to sleep with her near, lulled by the low beat of her heart and the soft sighs of her breathing. It was a comfort he had never imagined himself longing for, and yet with Eli he’d quickly come to miss her warmth on the nights they slept in their own tents. Her absence at his side becoming a chill he’d rather not endure.
“I’d like that,” Eli agreed, giving his own hand a soft and appreciative squeeze.
“Well,” Astarion sighed, tension easing out of him as he leaned forward suddenly and wrapped Eli in an embrace that quickly had them tumbling back onto the bed. “No time like the present!”
Eli laughed and Astarion pulled her close, reveling in the easy solace of having everything between them out in the open rather than eating away at his insides. He rolled onto his back, tugging her up onto him so that her head was resting on his chest, just below his chin. His fingers idly stroked through her hair, eyelids drooping as the stress of the day finally caught up to him.
“This is nice,” he mumbled a bit more sleepily than intended.
A contented hum was the only response he heard from Eli before sleep took him completely.

In the morning Karlach gave them a knowing smirk as they descended the stairs and Eli began rummaging through the Inn’s cabinets for something that could pass as breakfast.
“You two look happy,” she remarked as Astarion took a seat across from her at one of the low tables near the central firepit. “Seems a night on your own did the both of you some good.”
The tiefling eyed Astarion pointedly as she raised a mug of coffee and sipped, eyes twinkling with more than a bit of self-satisfied mischief.
Astarion clicked his tongue and leaned back in his chair, feigning disinterest as he began to study his nails.
“You know, Karlach,” he began, flicking a speck of dirt from the tip of a finger. “For someone without a heart, you sure do seem to get invested in the romantic affairs of others.”
Karlach nearly spit coffee across the table as a boisterous laugh leapt up from her chest. She managed to contain herself, half choking and half coughing into her mug before she set it aside.
“That’s rich, fangs, coming from the likes of you,” Karlach giggled with good nature. “Honestly, I was just getting tired of the constant pining and lovesick angst between the both of you. For a pair of bloodthirsty murderhobos, you two are adorably dense when it comes to interactions that don’t involve stabbing something.”
“And for a professional killing machine from the hells, you are a hopeless gossip,” Astarion replied, shooting Karlach a sidelong glare before he glanced across the room to where Jaheira was consulting with a pair of Harpers as they studied a map.
He cleared his throat and pointedly did not look at the tiefling, speaking low for only the two of them to hear.
“Anyway…thank you. For meddling,” he said somewhat stiffly, though there was a timid genuineness to his words that made Karlach beam.
“Always happy to meddle, fangs.”

friends with benefits
Tumblr media
You and Patrick are friends with benefits but what happens when he starts wanting you as his own.
You and Patrick have been friends for quite a few years now and there’s no doubt you two felt attraction to each other. For a long time you two only categorizes this feeling as just lust. Both of you guys had agreed to hookup without being in a committed relationship. Most recently Patrick started seeing you differently. You were only available to meet up with him on Saturday nights. Patrick being the horny man he is would hooks up with different women throughout the entire week. Yet for the last couple of weeks he has only been seeing you. He feels as if he’s being disloyal to you he has never felt like that for someone before. It was like any Sunday morning waking up on Patrick’s bed. You stare at him as he’s still asleep. His a toned body, the way his messy hair fell on his face, his sharp jawline (A: he mews at least 2 hours per day). You were mesmerized by his beauty you wanted him all to yourself. He slowly starts opening his eyes and turns to you. “Good morning” he says yawning softly staring into your eyes. “Good morning” you say back This was usually your cue that you had to leave already. You slowly get up from bed when his hand wraps around your waist.
“You wouldn’t mind staying longer here?” He suggests “I can’t do anymore rounds, my body is exhausted Patrick” you respond. He was very rough in bed your legs were still sore from last night.
“No, not like that” he chuckles “I simply want your company” “Sure” you say still shocked of Patrick’s new behavior. He pulls you back into his bed softly his hand still on your waist. He slowly moves you closer until you were both cuddling each other. You couldn’t be happier to be in Patrick’s arms. He didn’t really do aftercare so it came to a surprise when he was checking up on you.
“You said your body was exhausted, did I go on for to long last night?” He questions.
“Well yes but honestly It was very pleasurable and I loved every moment of it.”`You chuckle “Great that’s all I want” he says he gently tilts your chin to make you look at him “I don’t ever want to hurt you okay?” You could hear the genuine care in his voice. you couldn’t believe Patrick Bateman out of all people was showing concern for you. He slowly opens his drawer taking out a small white box. “I got you a gift”He grins “Really?” You question thinking you must misheard something. He nods you can’t help but smile. “Close your eyes.” He whispers into your ear with a husky voice his hot breath on your neck. “Also sit up for darling.” You do so you feel his hands on your neck After a few minutes you hear him say “Now open them.” You open your eyes seeing a precious Vivienne Westwood white pearl necklace hanging on your neck. “thank you” you say softly “but I can’t take this” You knew Patrick was insanely wealthy and this was nothing to him but you still felt guilty taking something so luxurious and glamorous. “No,take it I bought with you in mind it” he says “you’re worth every cent in my pocket and so much more. If you ever need help in anything at all financial issues, you need errands done, or just need company count on me okay?” He says his dark brown eyes staring into your eyes he looked at you so tenderly and lovingly. You swore his pupils were turning into hearts you felt something so different so warm,so alive, so loved. He slowly leans in to your lips pressing in a kiss. There was no lust or hunger behind that kiss. It was a rather gentle loving kiss.He slowly pulls away with a smile admiring your beautiful face. He caress your cheek. “Would you like to spend the day with me?” He says softly “we can go get breakfast and go shopping,It honestly doesn’t matter I just to be around you.” “i would love to” you grin he gets up from the bed and slowly picks you up carrying you like a bride. You can’t help but giggle. He softly kisses your forehead “I love you” he whispers “I Love you too dear” you say

we have your back - LH44
pairing: Lewis Hamilton x fem!reader
word count: ~ 2,1k
warnings: hurt/comfort, harsh language, sexism, RB team
summary: (requested by Anon) Hello! Can I request one with LH44 where you work at Merc, and are like the little girl for everyone in the team, and in one race someone from other team is really mean to you so he defends you 🙏🏼💕
a/n: first request yay :) i added something to the end, lemme know if you like it. keep sending me your ideas, i love reading them and i’ll try to work on them asap <3
Tumblr media
“Good morning Y/N!” Angela greeted you as you entered the Mercedes garage that Thursday for media day. You were wearing your Mercedes merch, as usual, and you had sunglasses on the top of your head.
You were a quite known figure in the paddock: despite being very young, recently graduated, you had been working in the F1 world for 2 years already. Everything had started thanks to your dad’s long friendship with Toto Wolff. The Austrian man had always been a constant presence at your house, ever since you were a kid, and when he knew about your studies he hadn’t hesitated to offer you an internship at the Mercedes factory.
Saying that everyone had loved you ever since the first day was an understatement: your outgoing and friendly personality had immediately caught everybody’s attention, especially a certain British driver’s.
You and Lewis had gradually gotten to know each other and you had developed a strong bond. Despite the age gap, you were great friends and you both knew you could count on each other whenever you needed it.
Over time, it was crystal clear that you were born to work in that environment, you were a natural talent, and it didn’t take a long time before you had a stable job.
While everyone in your team was really happy and proud of you, it was no secret that some other team didn’t believe the same. More than once you had been told about Marko’s and other Red Bull’s workers bad-mouthing you. The most popular rumour spread by them was that you had gotten your job because you were hooking up with one of the drivers or - even worse - with Toto. That latter was disgusting: Toto was almost a second father to you, how could that thought even cross their mind?
Despite your numerous attempts not to listen to them, those words hurt you. You had always been confident about your capabilities and you really didn’t want some stupid man to ruin that state. That day someone thought it differently though.
“Hiya Ang!” you greeted the woman back, then asked “is Lewis already here? I have some documents he should read before the interviews begin.”
“I’ve seen him heading towards his driver’s room about ten minutes ago, but I don’t know if he’s still here.” You smiled and nodded, then you headed to the drivers’ zone, where you knew you could find the boy. In fact, you saw him just leaving his driver’s room, so you called his name, drawing his attention.
“Hey beauty!” he smiled at you, genuinely happy to see you, and then engulfed you in a big hug.
“Hi Lew,” you untangled from his arms, immediately handing him the papers, which he gazed confusedly at, “Just some stuff I was told you should read before the conference.”
“What about?” he asked.
“You know, the usual, about which journalists will be there and the kind of questions they could be asking you.” you answered boringly; that pattern would repeat itself almost every race weekend, you knew it by heart basically.
“Well, then I don’t care.” He handed it back to you, “You know that anyway I’ll do whatever I want” he stated with a devilish grin.
“Yeah, sure.” You grinned back, it was impossible not to be affected by his beautiful expression.
“See you later Y/N, gotta go!” he was almost leaving you but before you could wave back, he surprised you by leaving a sweet kiss on your cheek.
You stood in the hallway, unable to move: these interactions weren’t new, but in the past they had always come after a specific event. That was the first time he had acted so spontaneously. You couldn’t deny you had liked it, that would have been hypocritical.
__________
Lewis was sitting in the conference room together with Pierre, Daniel, Mick and Alex. You had managed to sneak in just a couple of minutes after the beginning, and were now standing in the back of the hall. No one had noticed you except for him, his face had immediately lightened up when he saw you, and that had made your stomach clench. You were falling for the driver you worked for, how could you be so pathetic?
You were too busy drooling all over him that you hadn’t heard the question he had just been asked. You were alarmed by his expression, which suddenly became serious, too serious.
“Sorry, can you repeat, I think I misunderstood.” He was tense, you could tell it by both his tone and his body position: he had brought his elbows on his knees and he was staring intensely at the journalist, his eyes meaning just Tell me I misunderstood because otherwise you’re dead.
“Uhm yeah, sure.” The journalist, a man in his 50s, had as well sensed Lewis’ mood shift, and he was clearly trying to readjust his question. “Have you heard about what’s been said this morning about your team?” He was testing the waters, scared that he may have overstepped.
“No? I didn’t have this pleasure but enlighten me, please.” He was sarcastic, meaning that he had perfectly heard the first question.
“Ok, then-” the man stopped, he was blatantly nervous. “In a press conference this morning it has been said that someone from your team has been hired thanks to some favours done to the people from high up, and it was sworn they would bring evidence.” He had said it all in one breath, and he was now waiting for Lewis’ answer, like all the others in the room. Everyone was silent, and you could see some photographers getting ready as soon as Lewis took a deep breath before replying.
“May I ask who spread those rumours and who are they about?” The boy was still incredibly calm, but you could sense he was soon to blow up.
“I can’t- I mean I was told not to-” the man was stuttering, utterly scared by the Britishman. It was impressive how towering his presence was, he could silence everyone with just a glare.
“Perhaps I should rephrase my sentence: tell me now who said so and who they were talking about. It’s not a question, it’s an order.” He was clearly getting angrier and angrier, you knew he couldn’t stand anyone being disrespectful towards his team, which had been his second family for almost 10 years.
The journalist sighed desolated, clearly knowing what he had gotten himself into and that he was anyway going to be screwed. “Christian Horner, this morning during an interview for a Dutch channel, and he was talking about Y/N Y/L/N.”
Lewis didn’t seem to react at the beginning, but then he let out a sour giggle before stating, “Why was I expecting it?”
The room was dead-silent, no one dared speak or move. Your heart started pounding and you could see your vision blurring because of the tears: knowing about the rumours was already humiliating, but hearing them from a complete stranger who seemed to believe them was something else. The fact that now Lewis was conscious was even worse. You thought that you were the only one in the team who was aware of them, but now you knew that it was just a matter of time before news would be spread everywhere, and you would start getting hateful messages from anyone.
When Lewis finally decided to speak, you were still petrified and were barely registering his words. “First of all, tell Horner to mind his fucking business and worry about his team and his team only. Also remind him that the trophy here is for winning the races, not for who spreads more bullshit about other teams, ‘cause he seems to be a pro in this.” His voice was pure ice, but he didn’t seem to want to stop.
“Secondly, nobody from the team owes you any kind of explanation, but since apparently this is the only way you’ll shut up, then I guess it’s on me. Y/N was hired because she’s incredibly talented, she has proved more than once that she has all the requirements and she’s perfectly qualified to work with us, she’s even doing better than many other people who have been there since before her arrival. And then I’d like to ask, but this is just my impression, why hasn’t anyone said anything about Elliott? He’s a friend of Angela’s and he was hired just a couple of months ago, though no one seemed to care about it, am I wrong?” As he kept speaking, you couldn’t help but stare at him, a sense of protection was flowing from his eyes to your body.
“Avoid this kind of sexist comments because if you think they’ll get you some popularity then you’re completely wrong. And now I’m leaving, I don’t care about this shitshow anymore.” As he finished his speech he stood up, he placed the microphone on the chair and headed towards the door. Just before exiting, he seemed to remember something and you saw him walking to you, before grabbing your hand and leaving through the fire exit.
You weren’t really paying attention to where he was leading you, still startled by what had just happened, but before you could realise you found yourself in his driver’s room. Again, he hugged you tightly before whispering in your ear “Let it go” and then was when all your walls broke down. Tears started streaming over your cheeks and then on his shirt, but he didn’t seem to care, he just lifted you up and then sat on his couch with you still clinging to him.
He nuzzled your neck with his nose, an incredibly intimate gesture that immediately calmed your sobs. When you looked up, you were met with the kindest hazel eyes and the softest smile you had ever seen. He left a kiss on your forehead, one on your nose and then he pecked you on the lips. You widened your eyes but he didn’t seem to notice any change, as if it was routine for him to kiss you like that.
“You know you don’t have to listen to what some idiot rambles about you right?” He didn’t even wait for your answer, he just kept going on, “Here we all know your value, you are perfect to work here and I know Toto saw that something in you.”
“I- it’s just so difficult Lewis,” your voice was still broken and you let out a deep sigh, “I know I can make it but it’s horrible because their words creep in my head.”
“Why have you never told me about it? You know I’m here for you, right?”
“I know that and I’m extremely grateful to you for this but- I don’t wanna be a burden and I wanna show them I can make it on my own, you know that?”
“I get it but-” he paused, as if he was looking for the best words to voice his thoughts, “This world can be overwhelming and cruel. No one will blame you if you look for help, especially during these first years. The team and I are more than willing to support you in your journey sweetie, just don’t keep all this inside, it’s not healthy.” He left another kiss on your forehead, as if he was sealing his promise.
You couldn’t help but throw yourself in his arms, shaken by that day’s events but extremely grateful for Lewis and your team having your back. You were still processing everything that had happened in the previous hour that you almost forgot about the kiss. Though apparently they boy hadn’t.
“Can I ask you something?” he was suddenly… nervous? You nodded and he went on, “I know maybe now it’s not the best of times, but I was wondering if- well if you’d like to go out together tonight.” Wait, was he blushing? Lewis Hamilton, 7-time world champion and the man who had just silented a whole room just with his gaze, was blushing… because of you?
You came back to reality when you realised his words. “Go out… like a date? Me and you?” You couldn’t believe your ears, was that really happening?
“Yeah, that was the idea.” He scratched the back of his head, a sheepish smile on his lips, on those flawless lips that had kissed yours just a little while before.
You took his hand in yours, squeezing it, while this time it was you who left a peck on his mouth. “I’d be honoured to.” You whispered back, and you could swear that the smile that adorned his face after was the brightest you had ever seen.

It has been 3 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days since the last time you saw your Cody. One of the more…annoying…side effects of dating a Marshal Commander means that his brothers need him to be there.
If you were a lesser person, you would whine and complain about having to spend some much time alone. But you’re not a lesser person, and, in fact, your Cody warned you what dating him would entail before you started dating him.
So you walked into this with your eyes wide open, and you have no regrets.
Because Cody is practically perfect in every way. Kind and good. Clever and fun. A wicked sense of humor. Strong and protective, without sliding into the creepy possessive that had been a genuine concern at the start of the relationship.
That’s not even mentioning the fact that he looks at you like you personally hung the stars in the sky, which is only fair because you look at him the same way-
You release a lovesick sigh, and you lightly trail your fingers over the wooden pendant that Cody carved for you and gave you on your first date with him. A first date that got interrupted less than fifteen minutes after it started with an emergency comm from General Kenobi, and Cody had to run with an apology and a beg for a rain check.
You’re, maybe, a little salty towards General Kenobi about that. Just a little.
Your head lands on your kitchen table with a thump, you hadn’t even gotten a kiss out of Cody yet. And damn it, you wanted to kiss him. Or to be kissed by him. Or some combination of both.
Because of his position, Cody isn’t able to comm you as much as either of you would prefer. Though he does send you a short message every day. Or he tries to.
The last one you received was three days ago, a simple message saying that he missed you and that he had a surprise for when he got back. And then…nothing.
You’ve been sending him messages, of course. Pictures of amusing things you’ve seen outside, pictures of the new outfit you bought, a bunch of little heart emojis…and still nothing. No response at all.
You stand your comm up on the edge and stare at the screen. 0 notifications, battery at 7%...whoops, you should take care of that.
You push your chair away from the table, grab your comm, and walk several feet to the docking station in the living room. You fiddle with the device and your comm, and then you carefully set the device down once the battery light starts indicating that it’s charging.
You turn back to your kitchen, you really do need to make something to eat, when your doorbell chimes. And you sigh and your head falls back. Even odds is that it’s your downstairs neighbor, coming back upstairs to yell at you for living in your own apartment.
The door chimes again, and you groan, “Just a minute!” You call, crossing your apartment as quickly as you can to pull open the door, “Look, Mister Alobe, you cannot yell at me for existing in my own apartmen-” You stop and blink at the man on the other side of the door. He is definitely not ancient Mister Alobe.
Cody grins boyishly, “Surprise, cyare,”
You make a noise of delight, “Cody!” You fling your arms around his neck, and he stumbles backwards, his arms sliding securely around your waist to support your weight as you hook your legs around his waist. “You’re back!”
“I am back,” He agrees as he carries you into your apartment, and absently hits the door control panel to shut and lock the door behind him, “Sorry I didn’t let you know.”
You shake your head as you press your face against his neck, inhaling the scent of Cody. He smells like the fire-retardant of his blacks, gun oil, and the cheap soap that he uses while deployed. He smells like Cody. “Is okay,” You finally say, “Just glad that you’re here.”
He sets you back on your feet, but you keep yourself wrapped around him, and you feel him laugh, “Someone’s clingy.” Cody’s voice is lightly teasing, but his arms remain tightly around you as well.
“Shh. I missed you,” You reply as you tighten your grip around him.
“I missed you too, cyare.” Cody murmurs in your ear, “Thought about you every day.”
“Did you?” you ask as you finally pull your face away from his neck, so you’re able to look him in the eye.
“Mm. Reading your messages to me was my favorite part of the day,” Cody admits. His hands slide up your sides, over your shoulders and the side of your neck, to cup your face. He smiles at you, warm and gentle, “But, I promised you a surprise, didn’t I?”
You nod eagerly.
“Okay, close your eyes.” Cody murmurs.
“You’re not going to put, like, frogs in my hands are you?” You ask, even as you obediently close your eyes.
“Spoken like someone with a little brother,” Cody replies with a laugh, “No, where would I even keep a frog on me, cyare?”
“My brother seemed to have the magical ability to just materialize them from nowhere,” You joke, “Maybe you have the same superpower.”
“Well, it’s not a frog. Promise. It’s nothing gross at all.” He rubs small circles just under your ear, “Are you ready?”
“Yep!”
“Good,” And then his lips are on yours.
Cody kisses with the same intensity that he does everything else in his life. And you…well, you melt into him, and into his kiss. It’s everything you’ve wanted, and it’s better than you ever imagined.
And then he breaks the kiss and presses his forehead against yours, and you open your eyes. And you’re unable to stop the wide grin that crosses your face. You feel giddy, almost. And judging by the matching wide grin on Cody’s face, he’s feeling the same way.
“How was that?” He asks.
“Mm…you know, I think we should try again,” You breath out, “Testing is an important part of forming a conclusion. Scientific method and…things.”
“You just want to kiss me again,” He accuses, but his grin hasn’t faded.
“Oh, absolutely,” You agree shamelessly, “I’ve wanted to kiss you for…oh…three and a half months now.”
“Well, I suppose I have three and a half months worth of kisses to make up on.” He tilts your head back, and crashes his lips against yours again, and delight surges through you.
He kisses you like he needs you to breathe. And you tighten your hold around him…after all, you need him just as much.

Ch.2 To be loved
Tumblr media
Seeing him was the highlight of my day. I remembered when I was nothing but an orphan, though I can't remember my biological parents. I sometimes like to think they died. It was the best way for me when I was just a kid. To accept the fact that even the ones who gave you life viewed as nothing but a mistake was difficult. My mother viewed her destiny as saving her country, getting rid of the drugs that were taking lives. In my opinion, people died all the time. Life was hard. We have no idea what someone is going through until they are pushed to the end. She would never understand that struggle. That pain. When I heard it was si-o behind all this, I had to know why. People have reasons, I had to be the one to see the good in him. Even if no one else could. I was falling in love, love makes you do dumb things.
Whether I was dumb or hopeless, I wanted to know him. Not the version he showed to the public, the fake smiles meant nothing to me. I wanted to see him truly smile, to be happy. I happened to be at one of my mothers many chain restaurants. And to my luck sitting there was the man I had hoped for, now I hadn't prepared myself to speak to him and I realized that when he had made eye contact with me. Stern, serious glare like he knew I was watching him. Talking to people wasn't necessarily the issue. I talked my way out of parking tickets, jail, and even school punishments as a child. I was a smooth talker, one thing I developed from my mom. Though he made me nervous, my hands were sweating, and I had the urge to convert into oxygen. I wanted to cry because as much as I hated to admit it, his opinion of me meant a lot. One accidental interaction, and I was hooked. He knew me as Tseg tseg rich spoiled friend. I wanted him to see me. It already pissed me off that he had eyes for my sister. She took everything from me without even fucking trying. I had to man up and fight for what I wanted.
"Hello sir, you probably don't know me, but my name is Danny. We kinda met before when I bumped into you at your company." He smiled though I could tell it was fake, after years of faking happiness myself. I knew a fake smile from a mile away. "Right, your Tseg's little friend, correct?" Irritation couldn't even be used as the word for what I felt in that moment, I wanted him to see me. "Technically, that's how we met, though I just wanted to say something t-to you. Please." I stood up drawing attention to myself truly not what I needed right now, but I had to tell him before anything else happened. My anxiety was through the roof, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die right then and there standing under his intimidating stare. I had to do this, though. He was the first person I felt genuine feelings for, and I didn't even know him personally. The effect he had on me was outrageous.
"I wanted to go out with you. I want to get to know you, and I know I'm not korean, and your parents may have an issue with that, but I mean Nationality vise I am. Everyone thinks I'm just this spoiled rich assshole, but i im not, and i want to show you that there is more to me than my money or parents' money. I have korean parents, so that counts, I'm well accounted for, and I have seen you before, and you're all I think about no matter what. I try to get my mind off of you, and my brain proceeds to show different connections to you. And if you p-plan to reject me, just sit here and silence, and I won't ever bother you again. Well, I hope so, I can try." He was astonished but my speech. Everyone had turned their attention towards us and started clapping. I hadn't even noticed at first. I couldn't handle rejection, especially not by him. I wanted to be with him, breathe in his scent, and help him with anything. Live a life with him. Silence was what I got, and I took the message. I had embarrassed him and myself.
Suddenly, walking out, trying to hold back tears, I was 5 years old me again. I'm sitting at my dance recital waiting for my mommy. She promised she would come today since I told her how much this meant to me. Sitting there for the next 4 hours in nothing but silence was the worst feeling a child could feel. The competition was over, I didn't even dance, missing a chance to get picked for a major academy. I saw dad pull up. Why did she hate me so much. "Honey, you didn't tell me you had a competition today, and I found the scouts there as well. I would've shown up, baby." I stared at him. I was a daddy's girl simply because my mother broke my heart before I could ever feel love from her. "I didn't tell you because I told Mommy. I wanted her to come watch me this time. To surprise her with my skills." Just glancing at him, I knew that look, the look of a father who was afraid to break their already broken child. I snapped out of it when I felt someone shaking my shoulders. Looking up, it was him. "I've been calling you for 20 minutes. You almost got hit by that truck. Are you even paying attention?" I stared at him, I didn't know what to say, would he care enough to hear. "You ran out before I could say anything. Scared? You're very pretty. And bold. I've never had someone confess their love for me in a public area at that. I admire that, while I don't really know you, I would like to get to know you. Experience something."
I was so happy at that moment that I completely ignored the world around me. I jumped onto him. He was startled at first but caught me with ease. I leaned back and cupped his face, pecking his cheek, and for that first time, I saw a genuine smile. A real surprise for me, I enjoyed it. "You look beautiful when you smile, like a hidden jem only made for the luckiest humans to gaze at." He stared at me, blushing. From that moment, we slowly got to know each other, getting closer day and night. Developing an unbreakable bond. I didn't care he was a so-called criminal. When I was with him, none of that mattered. I never asked about his business, letting him know if he wanted to tell me he could. I kept this from my family, I knew they would never approve of what we had, especially my mother. She didn't give a shit about me, but in a situation like this, she saw him as an enemy.
We sat at a Korean BBQ shop. It was simply nice to spend time at a place with no worries. "I could've taken you someone nicer, you know." I placed some meat on the grill what grabbing a piece and putting it in front of his mouth. He smiled and opened his mouth to eat it. "Is it good? And you know I don't care about expensive restaurants. I've been to enough in my lifetime. I just want to be with you. To be honest, you could've gotten fried chicken and took to me the beach to eat. It's the thought that counts, babe." He smiled at me, I smiled back until I realized the petname I gave him immediately going to apologize. "It's fine, I actually like it. Babe." Blushing, I gave him more meat. We talked about our days, he was stressed and I wanted to help. Thought he said I shouldn't stress myself. We finished eating and literally had a full-on battle over who would pay the bill. I won, "Maybe I'll let you pay next time." He laughed, grabbing my hand and walking out of the shop. While pda was no foreign concept to me, it still made me feel like it was the first interaction between us each time it happened. "Come home with me, please." I stared at him in shock. He had never asked me this. I had no experience in relationships, but usually, that leads to other things. I didn't know what was gonna happen, but I trusted him.
We showed up to his home. He told me to wash up for the night. I happily got in the shower to think I was happy. A foreign feeling. My shower lasted well over 30 minutes, I looked down and saw a towel and a button-up shirt. Luckily, I always kept a spare thong with me. Putting on the clothes, I walked out of the bathroom to find him already washed up and laying in bed. A blue robe and pajama pants on while he was on the phone. I walked out of the room to got place my clothes in the hamper, then grabbed a glass of water. I was drinking it while examining the home I had never been inside. Eventually, I walked back towards the room where he was done with his phone call. And looked up with a dropped jaw. I smiled at his antics. "You're still so pretty. With and without the makeup. Come here." Walking slowly towards his bed, he gestured for me to move closer. I crawled to him, and apparently, it wasn't close enough because he picked me up and placed me on his lap while holding my hips. I felt nervous. He noticed squeezing my hips with his larm hands.
I grabbed one of his hands, placing them in mine. Comparing the size and then kissing his palms, I looked up at him to see a bright smile. "I'm not tired yet." I told him it usually took me a while to go to sleep. I was just always up. He nodded and pulled me closer in a hug. Affection from si-o was always the best. I could tell he wasn't the most affectionate person, so I didn't push him. Though I craved his touch, I craved everything about him. Looking out the window, I saw the stars. "This reminds me of when my mom took me and my siblings camping once. It was weird, though it was fun." I continued to look at the stars until he spoke up. "You don't talk about your mother much. Actually, you don't talk about her at all. For a second, I thought she had passed." I was shocked by the thought of my mothers absence. Sure, I never spoke about her because there weren't any good memories, to be honest. "It's fine if you don't want to speak about it." I looked at his face full of concern he was so patient with me, but I wanted him to know and trust me like I did him. "It's ok, it's just.....there isn't much to talk about, you know. She was there but not there. She was always focused on my older sister. She was the amazing daughter who could do no wrong. And I was simply the girl that lived in her house, or that's what it felt like. Sometimes, it felt like I didn't have a mom to begin with. To think I used to pray to have a mother that would be there for me. Then my sister went missing, and as much as I hate to say it, I was happy, for once I though she would pay attention to me, realizing she had two daughters but it only got worse. I was just there, and I hated myself for the fact that I was happy my sister was gone. I've always been jealous of her she is better in every way. That's so evil of me, but I was so fucking lonely. She is such a good person, and makes friends so easily and everyone likes her but me they look down on me. I'm nothing more then a spoiled bitch using her parents credit card to fill the void."
Before I noticed, I was full on sobbing in front of him. I broke down, secrets I've never told anyone in my life. I was afraid of what the world would think of me. He grabbed my shaking hands, kissing them slowly, whining, moving up to wipe my tears. "Your feelings are normal baby, you went your entire life playing second place because your mother is a terrible mother, no offense. A bit of a bitch you know. No secret there since she is Hwang Geum Joo." Hearing that part made me laugh. Until I sat there shocked he knew of my parent. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." It was all I could say at the moment. He looked at me and pressed against my cheeks, letting me know it was ok. And he underdtood the urge to protect her even if she wanst good to me. Or cared for me, it seems."You are so amazing and kind and beautiful. She isn't better than you at all. I wish you could see the way I see you. You have lightened up my world as a whole. I was nothing but a cold, damaged asshole when I met you, then I realized no matter how my life pushes and kicks your ass its your choice to get back up. To keep going, you taught me that baby. All the drug business and shady stuff I do, you don't judge me at all. Sitting by my side supporting me no matter what I choose to do. When I was an orphan and Pavel took me in, trained me to become the person I am today, hit after hit. Missed meal after another, I prayed for a better life. You have provided that life." Hearing those words, my heart was swelled. I felt nothing but love for the first time someone chose me, loves me. I wasn't an option. I was a need. "I'm so glad you chose me or tseg." Hearing that, he laughing pulling me closer if that was possible. "I never liked tseg baby, she is a worker at my company that'd all. If anything, I had my eyes on you since you walked into the building." Similing in pure joy, I leaped forward, causing a groan to come of his mouth. Scared I hurt him, I tried to get up until he forced my hips back down. It was then I realized I hadn't hurt him. In fact, the moment u felt something hard poking me thigh, I blushed.
"How in the world did you get hard, sir?" He simply smiled at my words, moving me forward to the point where I was sitting directly on top of his hard on. My core pushed further into it slowly until he began grinding me against him. I couldn't help but moan. It all felt too good. "Have you seen my beautiful girlfriend sitting right on top of me in nothing but my shirt? If anything, it was difficult not to." Moans slipped from my mouth before I could let out a sarcastic response. Finally, I said the words I had been so afraid to ever tell anyone. "I love y-you." Hearing this, he sped up my hips against his, leaning in to capture my lips into a kiss. "I love you more, baby." We continued until we were left naked and bare before each other, and all the insecurities, abandonment issues, and pain left my mind. Leaving nothing but si-o. The night was a night to remember.
Stay tuned for chapter 3.

So is the Life of a Pirate (2/?)
Series: One Piece
Chapter: 2/?
Word Count: 5039
Rating: T
Pairing(s): Sanji x OC (Reader)
A dalliance six years ago has a funny way of catching up to Sanji when the Straw Hats stop to restock the ship.
[1]
a/n: Wowie! I didn't expect this to get the attention it did, but you guys seem to like it, so I'll keep on posting sporadically like this. Maybe every couple days. Yeah? How's that sound? What about a little angst this chapter? That sound good, too?
Cordelia opened her door and of course, there he was.  She hadn’t known many pirates in her life that she genuinely liked.  But she could always make an exception for her Straw Hats.  Always, “CORDELIA!”
“Luffy!” Cordelia threw her arms around him, “Hi!”
“When Nami said we’d be going somewhere special for dinner tonight,” Luffy gasped, “She didn’t say we’d be coming here.”
“Where else would you go?” Cordelia scoffed, “Best food in Beniville Bay.  Right here.”
“Don’t tell Sanji I told you this,” Luffy kept his voice down, “But his cooking isn’t as good as yours.”
“I know,” Cordelia giggled, “Go on.  Go inside.”
“Thanks!” Luffy walked into Cordelia’s house and found Ash in the middle of the living room with his jaw on the floor, “Hey!  There’s a little kid in here!  Hi, little kid!”
“Luffy,” Cordelia settled him, “Play nice.”
“What?” Luffy squeaked, “I’m not doing anything wrong.”
“There’s…what?” Usopp poked his head around the corner, “Oh, hi, Cordelia!”
“Hi, Usopp,” Cordelia got a hug out of him and a little kiss to her cheek, “Go on.  Go play with him.”
“Awesome!” Usopp slid past her, “Hey, you weren’t lying, Luffy!  There’s a kid here!”
“I’ll go keep them in line,” Nami already walked in.
“Thank you, Nami,” Cordelia leaned against the doorjamb.  Until Zoro came up to her.  And immediately scooped her up in his arms, “Hi, Zoro.”
“It’s been way too long since we’ve seen you, Cordelia,” Zoro practically snapped her spine, “I’m so glad Nami brought us here.”
“Me, too,” Cordelia melted in his embrace.  Until she saw those eyes.  Those eyes that got her hooked all those years ago.  And her heart fell to pieces, “Hey, Zoro?  Not that I’m not thrilled to see you, but…Could you…?”
“Yeah,” Zoro let her go, “I’ll just…Go inside?”
“If it’s not too much to ask,” Cordelia nodded.
“Got it,” Zoro walked inside and closed the door and the living room windows behind him.
And the air went still.  Five years had gone by and Cordelia still couldn’t believe this was the one.  The same one she had fallen in love with all those years ago.  And yet, she sat down on her front step.  And he sat next to her, “Everyone else gets hugs and kisses and I just get the front porch?”
“I figured I’d let you finish your cigarette before you came inside,” Cordelia smiled a bit, “Hello, Sanji…”
“Cordelia…” Sanji put the rest of his half smoked cigarette out on the bottom of his boot before throwing the butt into the gravel.  And immediately, Sanji pulled Cordelia into his arms.  And he didn’t want to let her go, “I missed you so much…”
“I missed you, too,” Cordelia did all she could to not start bawling.  Her knotted up stomach wanted to relax, but it just couldn’t.  Something else weighed far too heavy on her shoulders to even allow her to think about relaxing.
“Please,” Sanji hoped, “Please tell me I’m not homewrecking here.”
“What?” Cordelia giggled, cuddling into his shoulder “No.  Of course not.  But…Sanji, I have to tell you something.”
“Oh…” Sanji’s eyes fell to the ground, “There is someone.”
“There is,” Cordelia bit the inside of her cheek, “And…I really want you to meet him.”
“Him?” Sanji whined, “Really?  No.  You’re right.  It would’ve been selfish of me to think you would’ve waited for me.”
“Sanji…”
“We had one night together,” Sanji went on, “I’m sure it made an impact then, but…”
“Sanji…”
“Again, it would’ve been selfish of me to think…”
“Sanji,” Cordelia grabbed him by his face and pressed her lips against his, “It’s not like that.  I promise.  Just…Come on.  I already have dinner made.  And I want you to meet him.”
“Fine,” Sanji let out a heavy, dramatic sigh, “But I’m not making any promises.”
“I’m not expecting you to,” Cordelia pushed herself onto her feet, “But-”
“Hey, Cordelia!” Luffy stuck his head out the front window, “Since when do you have a kid?”
Cordelia bit down on her lip, her eyes squeezed tight.  And it took everything she had not to beat Luffy down with a cast iron frying pan, “Since I had him, Luffy.”
“He’s great!” Luffy beamed, beyond thrilled to have a new buddy.
“Hold on,” Sanji froze, “Cordelia…How long has it been since you had him?”
Cordelia knew it was coming.  She knew she’d have to say something eventually.  It was going to be the elephant in the room, but it had to be said, “He’s about to turn five.”
“Oh,” Sanji let it go.  Although, the math started adding up quickly in the back of his head, “And…Is that who you wanted me to meet?”
“You were going to eventually,” Cordelia walked inside with Sanji in tow, “Ash…Come here, baby.”
“Mama!” Ash gasped, running to his mother’s side, “You didn’t tell me how cool you were when you were hanging out with Luffy!”
“They might have been here a week,” Cordelia giggled to herself, “I didn’t realize I made that much of an impression.”
“You liberated an entire ship of trafficked girls and made that ship’s captain walk the plank, Cordelia,” Luffy reminded her, “That’s pretty cool, if I do say so myself.”
“You know what?” Usopp sighed out, kicking his feet up on the coffee table, “It reminds me of this one time when I was in the South Blue.  There was an entire fleet after my ship!  And I knocked all those captains’ heads together like a pendulum!  It was a pretty weird Tuesday.”
“I’m sure it was, Usopp,” Cordelia sat down on her couch and Ash nuzzled himself into her lap, “But yeah.  A lot’s happened since we all saw each other.  I know I’ve already talked about it with Nami this morning, but I do.  This is my son, Ash.”
Ash looked up at her, “We’ve already met, Mama.”
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Cordelia slowed her breathing, already feeling her heart ready to give out, “But I told you I knew pirates.  And now, you can put names to faces.”
Although, Sanji got a good look at Ash.  A very good look at Ash.  He thought for sure he was overthinking things.  So, he let them go, “It’s Ash, right?”
“Mmhm,” Ash nodded, “Is this the pretty cook you always talk about?”
“Ash,” Cordelia’s cheeks turned the brightest red.  And Sanji’s weren’t much better off, “Why don’t you and the others go play in the backyard?  I’ll call you when dinner’s ready.  I could really use your help, Sanji.”
“I’d be happy to,” Sanji agreed, a little smile gracing his face.
“But dinner was ready before they-”
“Asher,” Cordelia stood her ground, “Go outside.”
“Fine,” Ash got up from Cordelia’s lap and ran out the back door.
“Does that mean we get to go play outside, too, Cordelia?” Luffy hoped, “And then, we get food?”
“Yes, Luffy,” Cordelia held her face in her hands, “You, too.”
“Yay!” Luffy started running for the back door, “Come on, Usopp!”
“I’m coming!” Usopp followed, just as excited.
“Zoro, Nami…” Cordelia begged, “Will you two go be the adult supervision?”
“Already on it,” they droned.
“Thank you,” Cordelia took Sanji’s hand, “You get to come with me.”
“Aww,” Sanji teased her a bit, “And I wanted to go outside and play, too.”
“Bullshit, Sanji,” Cordelia rolled her eyes, “I know you better than that.  There’s nowhere you’re more content than in a kitchen.”
“I can think of one other place,” Sanji followed Cordelia into the kitchen and looked across the way at a very familiar bedroom.
“Other than that,” Cordelia shook her head, “Oh, I missed you, Sanji.”
“And I, you, darling,” Sanji kissed her cheek, “But…There’s something I need to ask you.”
“Yes,” Cordelia groaned, “The seal on the oregano jar still hasn’t been broken.”
“That wasn’t it,” Sanji hushed her, “But I will commend you for it.”
“Alright,” Cordelia hopped up on the kitchen counter, “Go ahead.  I know you’re going to ask.”
“It’s about Ash…”
“I figured.”
Sanji looked out the kitchen window into the backyard where Ash, Luffy, and Usopp were running around the big tree, “Where’s his father?”
Cordelia’s stomach dropped to her feet.  Slowly, she settled her mind, “Would you like to hear the story I tell him when he asks?”
“I’d love to,” Sanji sat down at the table.
“I tell him his father was lost to the sea,” Cordelia sighed out, “Which isn’t entirely lying to him.  I tell him his father pulled into this port one day.  We fell in love.  And then, he was gone.  He didn’t stick around long enough to know Ash would come along.  Hell, I wouldn’t even know Ash was coming along until a month and a half later.  So, I always tell Ash the same thing.  I don’t ever tell him his father left us.  Because that would’ve meant his father knowing there was an us and not just me.  But he had me.  And I’m all he’s ever known.  And that’s all that mattered.”
“Until…?” Sanji could see it in Cordelia’s eyes.  There was something she wasn’t saying.  There was something that was killing her.  There was something she wanted to just spit out, but she couldn’t find the words to do it.
“Until…” Cordelia’s voice broke.  But before she could start crying, she cleared her throat, “Until…He met Auntie Nami in the marketplace this morning getting produce for him.”
And that was the moment where Sanji’s heart exploded.  And yet, his face remained unmoved, “And how old is he?”
“He’s four…”
“Why didn’t you tell me, Cordelia?” Sanji snapped a bit, “Why didn’t you tell me he was mine?  Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant in the first place?  You know damn well I would’ve come back for you!”
“Because, Sanji,” Cordelia defended herself, “I knew this wasn’t the life for you.  I knew you were meant to be out to sea.  I didn’t want to be the one to hold you back from that.”
“You never held me back,” Sanji growled, “You never would’ve held me back.  You think I wouldn’t have wanted to settle down?  You think I wouldn’t have wanted to settle down with you?  ESPECIALLY, if I knew I had a son out there?  You don’t get to make those decisions for me, Cordelia!  You didn’t deserve to go through your pregnancy and raising him on your own!”
“I don’t know why you’re mad at me,” Cordelia jumped down Sanji’s throat, “It’s not like we’re suffering, Sanji.  We have everything handled.  I have everything handled.  I never expected anything from you.”
“But I would’ve given you everything without batting an eye!” The room went quiet again.  Not the kind of quiet like it was before.  Not the uncomfortable, awkward quiet.  The seething, angry quiet.  Sanji got up from the table, “I need to go.”
“Where are you going?” Cordelia worried.
“To walk out on the apparent mother of my son properly,” Sanji went straight for the door, knowing how badly his words wounded her.  The slamming screen cut Cordelia deeper than she had ever been hurt before.  She knew it wasn’t going to be pretty, but she didn’t realize it’d be this bad.
“Cordelia?” Zoro walked in, the rattling screen catching his attention.  He wasn’t expecting to find her sobbing on the floor, “Hey…Where’d Sanji go?”
Cordelia couldn’t even talk.  Her words failed her.  And her heart was in pieces.  But she wasn’t alone.  And Zoro would make sure she knew that.  So, he sat on the floor next to her and pulled her into his shoulder.  And she bawled her eyes out for a while.  Zoro knew he would be there for as long as she needed.
“Cordelia,” Zoro picked her chin up and wiped her tears away, “What happened?”
“I screwed up,” Cordelia spoke through her sobs, “I screwed up so big.”
“What do you mean?” Zoro looked at her strangely, “What was with the door slamming?”
“Sanji’s pissed,” Cordelia explained, her head rested in Zoro’s chest, “I didn’t tell him about Ash.”
“Why would that piss him off?” Zoro wondered, “I mean, we all didn’t know about Ash until we came here.”
“Yeah,” Cordelia felt another wave of tears coming, “But you’re not all his father…”
“Oh…” Zoro got quiet after that.  He wasn’t sure if it was shock or heartbreak.  But he knew he had to do something.  When they all met Cordelia for the first time, Zoro had a soft spot for her.  Like the annoying little sister he never had.  But that didn’t mean he didn’t know Sanji a little better than she did, “Ash is…Sanji’s son?”
“Mmhm,” Cordelia nodded, “I always told Ash his father was lost at sea.  I wasn’t lying to him.  For all I knew, Sanji was lost at sea.  But I knew he was out there.  Somewhere.  And you guys are impossible to get a hold of.  How was I supposed to know where to find you?  And then, to tell Sanji I was pregnant?  It would’ve ruined him.”
“By the sounds of it,” Zoro winced, “It’s ruining him now.  And he’s got four years to catch up on.”
“Thanks, Zoro,” Cordelia grumbled, “Way to make me feel more like shit.”
“Not my intentions,” Zoro promised, “Does Ash know?”
“No,” Cordelia shook her head, “But I’m sure there’s going to be a connection made at some point.”
“Do you want me to go out and find Sanji?”
“No.  He needs to walk this one off.  He’s already pissed.  I don’t need to get under his skin even more.”
“Ok,” Zoro didn’t budge.  He kept Cordelia in his lap, “You know…He’s a great kid.”
“Thank you,” Cordelia cracked a smile, “I did my best with what I had.  And it’s not like I totally raised Ash alone.  I had Nora at the tavern, too.  And some of the others around here.  It takes a village and I had one.”
“And that might be what’s bothering him,” Zoro assumed, “Ever think Sanji would’ve wanted to be part of Ash’s life?”
“Like I said, though,” Cordelia reiterated, “How was I supposed to tell him?  You guys are out on the ship and in the middle of the sea.  Was I just supposed to get on mine and go find you guys?  Out in the middle of who the hell knows where and risk me going into labor where there would be no doctor around?  Or anyone else for that matter?  Where it would be just me squeezing Ash’s massive head out of me with no painkillers and a weirdly angled mirror?  I wasn’t keeping Sanji away from Ash.  He could’ve come back anytime.  But no.  He was gone for five years.  And now, he knows he has a kid out in the world.  And he still walked out.”
“Cordelia,” Zoro kept his voice down, “Does the name Vinsmoke Judge mean anything to you?”
“No,” Cordelia shook her head, “Why?  Should it?”
“He’s the reason why Sanji would ever want to be a dad to his kid in the first place,” Zoro explained, “He’d kill me for saying any of this, but Vinsmoke Judge was a piece of shit father to his own kids.  Including Sanji.  We’ve talked about it.  If we were to ever have families outside the crew.  And he only said one thing.  If he had a kid, all he’d want to do is give that kid the life he never had.  And the dad he never had.  And to never know suffering a day in their life.  This might just be me speculating, but I think this is about more than just you not telling Sanji about Ash.”
In that moment, Cordelia’s heart fell to her feet in individual pieces.  Like the world’s saddest confetti.  She stood up, brushed herself off, and pulled herself together, “I have to go.”
“Hey, Cordelia?” Luffy stuck his head in the back door, “Is dinner done yet?  I’m starving.”
“I have to go,” Cordelia wiped her eyes one last time, “Zoro, can you keep an eye on Ash for me?”
“Go,” Zoro insisted, “Everything here is taken care of.”
“Thank you,” Cordelia started heading for the front door, “And keep Luffy out of the kitchen!”
“Will do!”
With her wits about her much more than they were before, Cordelia went on a search for Sanji.  Beniville Bay wasn’t very big, so it’s not like he could get lost.  He wasn’t Zoro.  But Cordelia knew where to find him.  Cordelia knew exactly where to find him.  The place it all started.  On the cliffs of Beniville Bay, there was the perfect view of all the West Blue.  So the rumor was.  There was nothing but water in any direction one were to look from those cliffs.  The day Sanji met Cordelia, she sat on the edge of those cliffs, gently singing an old shanty to herself.  And Sanji swore she was a siren.  And she certainly drew him in like one.
And sure enough, Cordelia found Sanji sitting at the edge.  Her hands and knees started to shake, but she knew she had to push through it.  No matter how hard it might be.  But at the same time, she didn’t want to scare him.  Cordelia made sure her footsteps made noise.  And of course, she caught Sanji’s attention.
“What are you doing here?” Sanji asked, his voice hardly above a whisper.
“I was going to ask you the same thing,” Cordelia sat on the ground next to him.  And the quiet between them was excruciating.
“I needed some quiet,” Sanji told her, clearing his throat, “What about you?”
“I needed to explain myself,” Cordelia carefully took Sanji’s hand, “Look, Sanji…I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Ash.  I’m sorry I made big decisions for you.”
“Cordelia,” Sanji asked, “Does Ash know who I am?”
“Of course,” Cordelia assured him, “You’d be amazed at how many times he’ll ask me to tell him all about the pirates I knew.  He’d go back and tell his friends that his mama knew pirates.  His mama was a pirate.”
“But not his father.”
“I’d tell him all about the pirates I knew,” Cordelia smiled, “Including you.  He heard all kinds of stories about you and me.”
“Did he?” Sanji started to perk up a little, “What’s he know about?”
“He knows how you called me a siren while you were here,” Cordelia rested her head on Sanji’s shoulder, “He knows that when we met, Luffy almost cleared out the tavern.  And that you still made food when you got back to the ship because-”
“I didn’t want to get rusty,” Sanji chuckled to himself, “And yet, I seem to remember that same night when Zoro got wildly drunk and you and I snuck back to your place to do some very vile things.”
“I don’t tell Ash about that one,” Cordelia giggled, “He doesn’t need to know about the night he was conceived.”
Sanji laid back on the ground and pulled Cordelia into his ribs, “I wish I would’ve known about Ash.  He’s a great kid.”
“He’s our great kid.”
“No,” Sanji shook his head, “He’s your great kid.  I had nothing to do with him turning out the way he has.”
“That’s not entirely true,” Cordelia cuddled into him, “Sanji, there’s more of you in Ash than you think there is.  One time, he threw a tantrum because I was in the middle of making dinner at the tavern and he wanted a banana.  I was almost done with dinner and he wanted a banana, so I wasn’t going to give him one.  He could wait for dinner.  Mind you, he had no money on him.  But there was a woman selling fruit from her stand a little way down the square.  He went over to the woman and told her he had a rumbly tummy.  The kid batted his eyelashes at her and came back with a banana and a satisfied grin on his face.”
“Really?” Sanji laughed, “He charmed a woman for a banana?”
“I didn’t believe it at first either,” Cordelia held her face in her hands, “But Nora said she saw the whole thing.  It was incredible.  And I don’t think I ever heard that kid ever use the word tummy a day in his life.  He full on charmed a woman for a banana.”
A sudden warmth spread through Sanji’s chest like a wildfire, “That’s my boy…”
“He is,” Cordelia agreed, “Whether you like it or not, you can’t deny him.  You’ve seen it, haven’t you?”
“The little uptick in his eyebrows?”
“The very same.”
“Yeah,” Sanji nodded, “I saw.  It was how I realized he was mine.  I just needed to hear it from you.”
“And you did,” Cordelia shut her eyes for a moment or two, “Ash is your son, Sanji.  You are just as much his dad as I am his mom.  But you think you were shocked when you met him for the first time.  You should’ve seen his first birthday.”
“You’re right,” Sanji stared up into the sky as guilt crept into his thoughts, “I should’ve seen his first birthday.”
“No,” Cordelia hushed him, “We’re not going to make it sad.  He knows you now, Sanji.  And no one can take that away from you.  And now that you know he exists, you can do something about it.”
“It’s just a matter of what I do,” Sanji pulled Cordelia a little closer, “But about his first birthday.  Tell me.”
“I knew he wouldn’t remember his first birthday,” Cordelia began, “First birthday parties were just vanity things for the parents to pat themselves on the back.  Birthday parties aren’t for the kid until they gain more sentience and cognitive memory.  But I still wanted to do something special.  So, I told Nora I was going to go on sabbatical for a month or two and I brought Ash on the boat.”
“You took a one year old on a boat?” Sanji gasped, “Cordelia, are you insane?”
“It was for a good reason,” Cordelia went on, “I took a couple weeks to get from the West Blue to the East Blue.  And just in time for Ash’s first birthday, we docked.  I got him dressed that night.  The cutest little bowtie.  I got dressed.  And we went and had dinner at the Baratie.”
Sanji froze.  His stomach turned into a solid knot.  And he wasn’t sure what to do about that, “You took our one year old son to the Baratie?”
“Yes, I did,” Cordelia nodded, “We deserved something nice.  And…Well, I always heard you talk up the Baratie, so…”
“Oh my god…” Sanji let out a little gasp, “You went to the Baratie looking for me.”
“Maybe,” Cordelia bit her lip, “So, you can’t say I never attempted to go after you.  But once we got back home, I figured you were on the other side of the world by then.  So, because Ash and I deserved nice things, we went to the Baratie for his birthday.  You should’ve seen the look on Zeff’s face when I walked in.”
And just when Sanji thought it couldn’t get worse, it managed to get just a little worse, “You met Zeff on your own?”
“You act like he’s some kind of monster,” Cordelia giggled, “Yeah.  I met Zeff on my own.  And he was nothing but sweet to me.  Zeff was a peach.  He sat with me for a bit while I was bouncing Ash on my knee.  But he was getting to that phase where he wanted to crawl all over the place, so if I held him down for too long, he’d try to squirm out or get super fussy.  And I had yet to eat anything at that point, so I was starving.  Ash ate more off my plate than I did, I swear.  Oh, Sanji…I wish you would’ve seen it.  Zeff took Ash and let me eat.  It was the first time since he was born that I could eat more than a few bites before I had to take care of him in some way.”
“I have a hard time seeing Zeff with a baby,” Sanji started to relax a bit.
“I mean,” Cordelia shrugged, “In a way, it made sense.  That was his grandson.  He just…didn’t realize it yet.  At least not until he got a better look at him.”
“So,” Sanji’s warm feeling didn’t last long, “Zeff knows.”
“Zeff figured it out,” Cordelia clarified, “But yes, Zeff knows.  Zeff knows Ash is his grandson.  Zeff knows you have a baby out in the world.  And Zeff expects us every year on Ash’s birthday.  But all that aside, the day I brought Ash to the Baratie…Zeff closed up a little early, so he and I could talk uninterrupted.  A few of the boys cleared the tables out.  Zeff cracked open a bottle of wine for me.  I could still taste it.  But Ash had fallen asleep in my arms.  And he was so content.  I told Zeff all about our night together without scarring him.  We talked about my life before we met.  And then, Ash woke up.  I felt bad because I thought maybe we were too loud.  He slid down from my lap and held onto my knee when he stood up.  And I watched as he took his first twelve steps from me to Zeff and fell into Zeff’s leg.”
“He…” Sanji tried not to start tearing up, but the thought of the little boy in Cordelia’s house having taken his first steps in a place he held dear in his heart and to the man that saved his life made it difficult, “He took his first steps…to Zeff…In the Baratie?”
“It was beautiful to see, Sanji,” Cordelia cuddled in a little closer, “You should’ve seen the look on Zeff’s face.  Fucking priceless.  And now, I can hardly keep up with him.  My god, the little shit has more energy than God knew what to do with.  But he did.  We got to working on walking on my boat and he had a pretty good handle on it before we got home.  But once we hit land again, he had to learn to walk all over.”
“Cordelia…” Sanji wept, “I’ve missed so much…”
“It doesn’t matter what you’ve missed, Sanji,” Cordelia assured him, “What matters is that you know he exists.  You know he’s here.  And he’s got a birthday coming up.  I know Zeff’s going to be waiting for us.  I bet he misses you, too.”
“You think so?” Sanji thought it over, “You know, it has been a while since I’ve seen Zeff.  I suppose it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I popped up there.”
“I wouldn’t tell you no,” Cordelia wrapped herself around Sanji’s arm, “Would you want to make the annual birthday trip to the Baratie with us?  Chances are, it’ll be the first real birthday Ash really remembers.  What better way to have it than to be the first birthday he has with both his parents?”
Sanji felt a hitch in his breathing.  His heart turned into a puddle and he knew he wouldn’t be able to say no, “When do we shove off?”
“Probably in a couple days,” Cordelia thought, “Unless you and the others are off on some other great, grand quest.  This wouldn’t be very long.  Probably a night at the Baratie docks.”
“Cordelia,” Sanji took her hands into his and gently brought them to his lips, “Of course, sweetheart.  I’d love to.”
“Thank you,” Cordelia melted inside.  But then, reality set in, “You know, we should probably get back to my place before Luffy starts seizing up.”
“Good call,” Sanji got up and helped Cordelia onto her feet, “And…Cordelia?”
“Hmm?”
Sanji pulled her into his arms and held her tight, “I’m so sorry for walking out on you.”
“You were pissed,” Cordelia comforted him, “I understand.”
“No,” Sanji shook his head, “I could’ve stayed here a little longer.  Long enough to know you were pregnant.  We could’ve been a real family.”
“We still are, Sanji,” Cordelia held his hand, “I tried seeing other men after you, but it wasn’t the same.  It didn’t feel right.  And the guy I saw after you really wasn’t right.  He found out Ash wasn’t his and walked out on us.  You came back, though.  I told you that you had a son and now, in a couple days, we’re going to go to the Baratie for his birthday.”
“Could you imagine the look on Zeff’s face when we walk in there together?” Sanji chuckled to himself, “Might actually put the old man in a heart attack.”
“We don’t want to do that to Zeff,” Cordelia awed, “I like Zeff.  And Zeff adores me.  My god, does Zeff love me.  Although, I think it was mostly a pity thing.  I walk into his restaurant a single mother only to find out that baby was yours.”
“He’s going to fucking kill me when we get there,” Sanji winced, “I can feel it.”
“Are you kidding?” Cordelia rolled her eyes, “Zeff adores you and wouldn’t dare.  Besides, Ash just got his father.  He’s not going to take him away from that.”
“That’s something I need hanging over my head,” Sanji scoffed, “Using the kid as a human shield.  That’s what we have Luffy for.”
“Don’t worry about Zeff,” Cordelia took Sanji’s arm, “If anything goes south with Zeff, I’ll take all the heat.  Considering this is mostly my fault anyway.”
“I still can’t believe you were at the Baratie to find me,” Sanji cracked a little smile.
“Why else would I have gone to the Baratie?”
“A half decent meal and just as mediocre ambience?”
“Valid point,” Cordelia ran a little way ahead, “We really do need to get back a little quicker, Sanji.”
“Why do you say that?” Sanji wondered, “Cordelia, sweetheart, we’re going to be here for a few days.  We have all the time in the world.”
“Very true,” she agreed, “But do you really want to leave a hungry Luffy alone with dinner on the table?”
“Alright.  Point made.”

Luffy leans his weight into you, pressing you into the hotel mattress.
"Hiya," he murmurs against your lips. His elbows are on either side of your head, and he's thrusting gently against your clothed cunt. His jeans are riding low around his hips, and you scrabble desperate fingers under the hem of his shirt. His abs are soft and warm under your touch.
"Hey," you breathe, lifting the arch in your back to press your chest deeper into his. He slides his arms under your shoulders, and holds you close as he kisses you again. Your arms are around his neck, pressing him as tightly to you as you can. It's so good to feel him.
Real.
Apart from your virtual ventures, you haven't gotten much play besides your girlfriend. (Which is great, by the way.) But it's been a while since you've had a man. You love masculinity, love the traces of his jaw against your skin. Love the weight of him, pressing into you. Nami is so much smaller than you--you curvy and her thin--you always feel a little clumsier, around her. And femininity is great and all, but sometimes you just need a dick.
And Luffy seems more than happy to give it to you.
"What can I do ta ya?" He rasps softly against your ear. He takes the lobe in his teeth, pulling slightly. You whine in the back of your throat--short and sweet.
"Um--," you push up your chin, scooting closer under him. "I w-wanna make you cum," you confess.
Cherry blossoms bloom along his cheeks.
"I'd like that," he grins, teething at your jawline, "You've already done it once before. Plus, like, two more times since then, ha."
You bust out a laugh, helpless beneath him. He shakes over you, giggling too. "Well, I'm so glad," you huff out a breath, and press a kiss to his collarbone. His round face is open wide and shining, eyes crinkling like half-moons in his bronze skin.
Wow.
You've got it bad.
Luffy nuzzles against your cheek. "Thanks for that, baby." He rolls his hips against you once more. You gasp, face heating like a rose.
"Lu-uffy," you hook your legs around his thick waist, bringing him closer (harder) against you. He starts thrusting quicker, friction both electrocuting and freezing you in place. He regards you down the edge of his tip-turned nose. A sharp eyebrow twitches upward as he smirks.
"Wan' more?"
You nod, furiously, as you break away to tug off your shirt. Luffy sits back on his heels to take off his own, pulling the red t-shirt off over his head with one hand. You stare at his frame, lithe and muscular, and lick your lips. "You're welcome, by the way."
He giggles.
"Shishishi, guess it's my turn to please you," he leans forward again, hand going to the small of your back as he lays you down. The pillows crinkle beneath you. The hotel smells like lemon-scented bleach. A watercolor painting of a fox hangs on the wall in front of you.
Luffy's face is between your legs.
He kisses around your abdomen, over your bellybutton and along the waistband of your skirt. He slyly unzips it, dragging the silver buckle down the length of your thigh. He flicks his dark eyes back up to you, questioning, and you swallow with a nod. He pulls the leather fabric off of you in one, swift motion. Then his fingers are curled in your underwear, pulling them down your legs, too. You let him, lifting your hips for him to undress you. The cotton slides down your shivering thighs, his fingertips grazing your already-heated skin. He smiles, genuinely, as he gazes at your heat.
"S'pretty for me," he murmurs, ghosting both hands back up your thighs. He lies down slowly, making intense eye contact with your clit. You hum, snuggling back into the covers. They were soft, and downy. Your tits splay out side to side as you get comfy.
"Like it?" You ask, arching an eyebrow as he grins at you. His eyes flare like black opal, and your stomach drops. You're fucking in for it.
"Love it, pretty."
And then his tongue is at your clit, flicking over and over again with an intense speed. You groan, arching your back as your legs tighten around his head. His hair is fluffy and ticklish against your inner thigh. You card your fingers through it, gripping tightly. His locks are velvet soft, and you whine.
He pulses in with two fingers, curling upward with the pads of his third and fourth digits. His fingers are strong and thick, and he pumps them into you while he laps at your clit.
"Mm-fuck!" You squeal, twitching against his jaw. His licking and sucking fill the room with perverse noises, and your muffled squeaks aren't doing much to help. Luffy is hungrily groaning into your cunt, grinding his hips against the bed. "Y-you--," you pant, squeezing your eyes shut, "I--want you!" You moan with your spine curled forward, hunching around your pleasure as Luffy speeds up.
"Not yet," he tugs at your strings, playing you like a violin. Deft fingers illustrate a symphony your nerves are only just this shy of being able to withstand. You whimper, nails digging into his scalp. "Wanna see ya cum, first."
His nose is pressed against your pubic bone, his tongue now doing figure eights on your messy clit. Saliva and slick slip down his face and onto the mattress beneath you. He traces imaginary shapes on your clit, over and over again, almost like letters. You let out a gasp, laughing.
"Ya spellin' somethin'?" You ask, neck craned to watch him work.
"Mm," he hums, fingers stretching out like scissors. You shake, beneath his touch. "Wanna guess?"
You laugh out loud, now, and let your head fall back against the pillows with a soft thump. "Umm...," you breathe, chest ragged and heaving. Your skin is on fire by now, plush and deep velvet as you rake your hands over your own thighs. Your fingernails leave traces of scarlet ribbon in their wake. "M-maybe, 'cum?'" You guess, rutting your hips up against his face.
"Nuh-uh."
"Fuck--," you buck your hips. He giggles, vibrating against your cunt. "You're impossible," you mutter, before bringing your focus back on the shapes his tongue is now lazily curling out along your clit.
A curl, a circle, a line?
You whimper, unable to focus.
"I--I have ADHD," you cover your eyes with a forearm, "This isn't fair."
"Me too!" He happily exclaims, before diving back in to repeat his movements. His tongue is so...dexterous.
"L...Luffy?" You sound out, eyebrows scrunched as you search the ceiling for answers. "Are you spelling your own name?"
"Luffy's," he corrects, "'Cuz you're mine now."
"Oh, am I?" You tease, relaxing back in the bed as he fucks you with his hand. Your body is shivering, aching now, as it craves release. "Did you do the apostrophe?"
"The what?"
"Nevermind," you laugh, shaking your head against the pillow. Your hair is spread out, soft and tangled, around you. You lift up a little to make eye contact with him. He's staring directly at your cunt, pumping his fingers in and out of you slowly. He's drooling.
"Gonna make me cum, or what?"
He flares his gaze back up to you, wild and dark, and starts to speed up. He crooks his fingers, his other thumb pressing hard into your clit now. "Five," he says, without warning.
"What?"
He looks over your shaking form with adoration, plus something that almost looks like bloodlust. "Four." He licks his lips as he gazes back up at you. He pinches your clit, and you scream.
"Luffy!!!" You squeeze your eyes shut, toes curling as you bow forward. He snickers.
"Three."
His fingers crook up--delicious--as he speeds up inside you. His pace is unbelievably fast--almost like a vibrator. "F-fuck--," you groan, scrabbling at his head with feeble hands.
"Two."
He's pulling at your clit between finger and thumb, harsh and lovely and spurring you on toward the swell of your symphony. "That's it, baby, moan f'me," he coos, pressing kisses to your inner thigh. "One."
Fuck--
"Lu--," his name is cut off as a chorus on your lips, now gone silent as you shudder through an orgasm. You've never cum this hard, before.
Your name is silent on his lips, as well.
You don't see it, bowed forward and clutching at his hair, but his lips move in the shape of your name, over and over as he gazes at you in awe. Your pretty lips, your wild hair, he can't handle the way you choke on his name. He slows his fingers down inside you.
"Good, baby?" He asks, running a strong hand up and down your leg. His other goes to palm his cock beneath his shorts. He's aching for you, now. You nod, forcing your breathing to cool down. Something was--coming up for you, and you can't help the tears that slide hot and salty onto your cheeks.
[a/n: this is now completely selfish and personal to me, so don't read on if you'd like the story to end here. smut is over now lol]
"'M...sorry," you say, embarrassment flooding through you. "Sorry," you shake, gone cold all of a sudden, as something knotted and thorny comes undone in your chest. Something after--after all these years. "I'm sorry!"
He shushes you, cooing at you immediately. He rushes up to wrap you in his arms, stroking your hair as you start to sob. You press your face into his sternum, and take a shuddering breath. "'M sorry," you say again, pressed against his sweaty skin. You sniff, wetly.
"I'm sorry," he says, kissing the top of your head. He feels so strong around you. "Did I do something wrong?"
You swallow, shaking your head against the muscles of his chest. His scar is a flat pane of scarlet in your eye. "Nope, not you. Someone--else." That's all you say, and that's all he asks.
"I got you," he whispers, humming as he plants more kisses atop your head. You cringe into him, wrapping your own arms around his back. "Don't say sorry anymore, baby. 'S not your fault."
"I know," you whisper, bitter. "I'm just--sorry I'm like this, is all. I don't wanna be, anymore. But..."
"But ya gotta cry, sometimes. I know," he whispers, then tilts your chin up to his face. He's smiling softly at you, hotel lights sending twinkles in his gray eyes. "I cry, too."
You smile, in spite of yourself, and reach up to kiss his cheek.
"Thank you."
