frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!

11. Do you like who you are around people?

Already answered this one, but no, not really. I'm not confident and I've spent my years convincing myself I'm unlikeable, so, I picked up the habit of making myself into someone new to fit someone else's view. I've still only ended up with three friends, so I'm not really successful there.

I'm much more honest with people and myself online because I know I'm interacting with people who are like me, just without the physical confrontation. Hence why I pay as much attention as I possibly can to all my moots <3

38. What's your favourite move?

Again, I already answered this one, but out of movies I watched recently, it would have to be between Stand By Me, The Fantastic Mr Ripley and Red Eye.

72. What stresses you out more than anything else?

Time. It slips through my fingers like silk and I'm constantly grasping at the threads. I have to keep a strict routine otherwise all my hours are gone and all I've done is rotted in bed.

That and trains. Hate having to remember all the stations and stops I have to get off at.

101. Are you okay?

With full honesty? No. Not at all. Physically I feel like a bad dog that needs to be put down, since everybody in my non-online life has decided to spend their days telling me I'm good at nothing and should just go home if I'm going to mope and fall asleep in half my classes. And mentally I'm very, very tired. Literally and figuratively. Lack of sleep makes you not want to do anything, and mixing that with depression and anxiety makes a very deadly cocktail.

But, so far I've survived the first two (almost three!) months of 2024, which is way further than I told myself in 2020 that I would get, so I think I'm getting somewhere!
