I’ve been trying to get these thoughts out for days but basically I feel like the unifying theory of s16 (as I see it) is a conscious exploration of the dichotomy between sunny as a classically bold and brash pee pee poo poo comedy and sunny as a thoughtful, nuanced and subtle show about flawed people and also about itself, at times (by that I mean the meta isn’t always about macdennis or the other characters but about sunny itself - win an award, clip show, big mo, etc). the trailer actually captures this dichotomy well through the dialogue clips and animations, as well as the pinned comment which said “get ready for a whole lot of subtlety.” it’s still so baffling to me that sunny can simultaneously read as one of the most loud, obnoxious, unsubtle shows ever on television, OR it can be so subtle and allegorical in the writing of later seasons that most viewers would think people like us are crazy for reading so much into it even though we’re really not. this kind of self-reflective flavor is another product of the rewatch/podcast project which has been almost universally agreed to have had a very positive effect on the writing.

anyway having said that, I want to just share my notes on the first two episodes without trying to edit them too much. I’m bolding the points that I personally haven’t seen anyone else mention yet and putting a 😎 next to ones that evoke a Classic Sunny VibeTM because that’s important to the experiment of this season.

in a show-meta sense it’s like, we should be less worried about whether the gay gay-ass love story will alienate people and more worried about how these characters are too ridiculous to even let the love story play out effectively. they need mental health days if we are ever to have nice things

it’s funny that people are saying this season is such a return to form because it is, but it’s also so much more self-aware of what that form is/was and how deeper elements can coexist within it. they’re really walking with a foot in both worlds here and they’re doing it well. love this for them and for us, the people who know what it’s always sunny in philadelphia is REALLY about

I loved following the progression of their sexual tension relationship as reluctant time travel partners sharing beds, bickering and falling for each other while exploring a cool 16th century Hogwarts. Okay um, I’m hoping that after Blood & Cheese plays out(which should happen by episode 2) we see more of the Alicent from episodes 6 and 7 I’ll do whatever to protect my children and myself Alicent rather than I don’t know what the hell is going on Alicent from episode 8 and 9. I need to see politically competent Alicent.

House Hightower will be great(I just really want to see the inside of Hightower. That’s all I ask for).

The Lannisters get to show off again that they are rich b*tches💰(Jason will show how much of a lovable idiotic flop he is).

Daeron will be the new it boy(still won’t overtake Aemond or Daemon, but he’ll give them a run for their money).

Dumbnyra will be away from each other for most of the season from what I’ve heard(and as their #1 hater outside of Ryan Condal that is music to my ears🎼).

Daemon will be trying to prove himself because finding out his brother dearest didn’t trust him/never saw him as his heir is a crushing blow for him, but he’ll be better than ever once he meets his Netty 😏 He’ll acknowledge that Rhaena exists and they’ll have a heart to heart 🙏🏽(Ryan have him talk to his only daughters 🙃).

Rhaena will get a dragon egg and realize that she was a cool girl all along😎

(Or she’ll pull a Mulan, dye her hair, and become a nurse for the Green camp. At the end of season 2, she meets Gwayne/Garmund/Daeron in disguise who is injured the two fall in love. She nurses him back to health as the world around them falls apart. Eventually, they marry in secret, comfort each other as their family members die by one, and survive the war together. They are each other's glue, they have lots of babies, and recently hatched Morning approves🐉. This isn’t fanfiction guys. Ryan Condal leaked this to me himself😎).

Aegon will become a sad hoe(literally).

Helaena will just speak in prophecies(I mean she already does this, but she'll really amp up predicting stuff, including everyone's death).

Criston finds out about the situation(🤢) and beats and/or threatens Larys creepy a** for Alicent(that nasty foot hoe deserves it 🤷🏽‍♀️).

Aemond feels the burden of his responsibilities when Aegon is injured and he becomes regent(setting the stage for him finding comfort in Alys for season 3).

Rhaenyra will be a more active participant since they want to make her into a #girl-boss feminist(Seeing Nettles claiming Sheepstealer will shake her up a bit).

Mysaria will say her involvement with Blood & Cheese was revenge for the children in the fighting pits(still doesn’t make sense but they made her into a “child activist”).

Baela will want to go with Rhaenys to Rooks Rest, but she’s held back because of the danger. She breaks down when Granny dies 😔

Corlys will continue to be an idiot until wifey dies then he finally gets it.

Addam and Alyn are Ser Vaemond’s sons 🤞🏽(Let him get the last laugh).

Lots of Dragonseed deaths during episodes 5-6(I’ll probably laugh at half of them especially when Alyn is almost ended by my baby’s baby).

From the looks of things, Addam Velaryon claiming Seasmoke will be a pretty big deal. There’s a leak that Laenor is dead and Rhaenyra finds this out by Addam claiming Seasmoke.

A little flirtation between Alyn and Baela (Again Ryan Condal personally told me Alyn will be good, kind, and loving to Baela. He’ll sweep her off her feet. Jace who? Jace what? He’s like the perfect future husband guys trust me. He's not a hoe. That's just Green propaganda 🥲).

Sara Snow will be there. Come on it’s too messy to scrape and Jace is less interesting than watching paint dry. He needs this and Baela needs an real man🤐

I know some people have reservations about Gayle now, but I wholeheartedly believe that people are going to fall in love with her portrayal of Alys(and Alysmond will rightfully overtake Pukemond as Aemond’s #1 ship). Hopefully, Alys roasts Daemon like how she did in that leaked audition tape 🤐

Judging by how much they are keeping Nettles under wraps, her claiming Sheepstealer will be absolutely epic. This is my most anticipated moment for season two. I want all the stops pulled out. I want Nettles to make the connection that dragons will accept food for rides on her own or hear something in passing on how the first Valyrians claimed/tamed their dragons and then figure it out from there.

(Daemon will be upset to hear about Nettles at first/view her as a threat because she shouldn’t exist in his Valyrian supremacist mind, but then he sees her and is like 😍).

There was a “leak” that allegedly stated Netty and Daemon meet sometime during the latter half of the season. They take a liking to each other and at some point, they go off together but come back to help in the Battle of the Gullet(BOTG). I’m not too crazy about this leak since I want Netty to be very wary of him at first instead of just jumping to be with him. He needs to really work for her affection.

The season will probably end on news that the Triarchy is attacking the Gullet(ending the season with them preparing for the BOTG). However, one of the “leaks” did say that allegedly the Blacks will take Kings Landing before the BOTG so they may plan their attack from there(hence Daemon and Nettles coming back to help them).

Not really a prediction, but I hope we see Johanna Lannister(seriously if HBO cuts her I’m considering it a crime). She’s like my favorite minor character during the Dance(and what happens to the Westerland women shows once again how Queenie doesn’t care about women except for herself). Now she’s what I’d call a bada** woman 🙌🏽

   Kamala checked the information she had written down on the piece of paper that she currently had gripped in her hand. She then checked the number on the apartment door before her.

   “Perfect match,” Kamala whispered, excitement gripping her as she paused before knocking on the door. She took in a deep breath and then knocked.

   She really hoped this was the right house. She had not gone all this way for nothing, and she had been extremely excited about this ever since she found out that she had a relative here in New York City of all places, which was the literal superhero capital of the universe.

   She desperately hoped that maybe her relative would maybe be some kind of a concealed superhero. Nakia had been explaining to her all the way there that this relative was definitely not going to be a superhero, but Kamala could not quite quell the excitement and hope. After all, if she had something special on her mom’s side, then she could possibly have something on her dad’s side, too.

   The door suddenly opened, and Kamala put on her best smile.

   “Hello?” a lady answered the door, and Kamala puffed up a bit with excitement. It appeared that this woman seemed to be of a similar background to Kamala, so that already meant that it was extremely likely that this woman was the person that Kamala was looking for.

   However, she did not quite look like a secret superhero. At the same time, Kamala did notice that the woman had a suspicious scar near her hairline that was exposed a little despite the mess of prettily curled hair.

   She figured she would wait to get into the secret superhero stuff later, though. She needed to at least get through the front door.

   “Hi!” Kamala greeted, waving to her. The woman blinked, looking out into the hall around Kamala before leaning back in the doorway and addressing Kamala once more.

   “Umm… How can I help you?” the woman questioned uncertainly, looking Kamala up and down as she seemingly tried to figure her out.

   “Are you,” Kamala paused to look at her piece of paper before looking back up at the woman who had answered the door, “Dinah Madani?”

   The lady looked uncertain, but she reluctantly nodded slowly.

   “Yes…?”

   Kamala instantly grinned widely, hopping a little with the excitement. The woman before her looked as if Kamala had grown two extra heads as she stared at her in utter bewilderment.

   “Oh, my gosh, I am so excited to meet you! I didn’t know I had family in NYC because most of my family is right around Jersey City or overseas, so it’s so super cool that you’re actually here! NYC’s like super cool because it’s practically the superhero capital of the world!” Kamala excitedly told Dinah.

   Dinah closed her eyes, shaking her head before reopening them and squinting at her.

   “What are you talking about?” Dinah asked, and Kamala instantly threw out her hand.

   “I’m Kamala Khan! Turns out, we’re related!” Kamala excitedly introduced herself, and Dinah just gaped at her. Kamala kept her hand held out expectantly, and Dinah kept staring at her.

   After a few more moments, Kamala let her hand drop.

   “Okay! Not a hand-shaker…”

   “What… How are we even…”

   “Okay, so stick with me, this is gonna be a little bit of a ride,” Kamala told her, laughing a little as she grinned widely and held her hands up. She looked back down at her paper to make sure she had it all written down, and she began her tale.

   “So my dad’s grandma had a brother, right? Now, listen, that brother had a daughter and she had a husband that had a daughter from another marriage and then that daughter got married to this other guy and his cousin is your mom Farah Madani,” Kamala explained, taking in a deep breath as she finished off that mess of a family tree.

   Dinah just stared at her blankly and Kamala honestly wondered if the woman was short-circuiting. Kamala simply shrugged.

   “Kinda complicated, but that’s the gist of it. Basically, we’re cousins!” Kamala laughed awkwardly.

   “Wh…”

   “By the way, you have a super nice place. From what I can see of it anyway,” Kamala complimented.

   Dinah seemed to somehow get control over her mind as she stepped to the side to allow Kamala to come in. Dinah was simply staring at her, and Kamala grinned as she headed over to get a closer look out the windows.

   “Wow… It must be crazy looking over the city like this. I mean, I know this is not a penthouse, but like, you’re so high up. That must be really cool,” Kamala expressed her honest opinion, unable to hold back her enthusiasm.

   “Um, yeah,” Dinah agreed as she sounded like she had responded just after swallowing, running her hands up through her hair. Kamala turned to look at her cheerfully, and Dinah offered a strained smile in return.

   “How did you find me exactly?” Dinah questioned, and Kamala was swift to reply to her.

   “Oh, it was easy. My dad went on that Ancestry website and had to spit into a tube or something, I don’t know. My mom didn’t like it, but he did it. And then he got back results and that’s when I traced our family and found you!” Kamala told her.

   Dinah narrowed her eyes a little as she seemed to be trying to piece this all together, and Kamala sighed as she looked around, the awkwardness finally starting to set in a little more fully as she realized that she had sort of just barged into this woman’s house and started word-vomiting on her.

   “My gosh, I’m sorry… You’re probably super busy, and I just randomly showed up on your doorstep when I should have at least emailed or called or something first. I don’t know, I just get excited sometimes,” Kamala laughed in self-deprecation as she looked at her nervously, still rambling just a little too much.

   Dinah offered her a tight-lipped smile, and Kamala offered one in reply.

   “Umm… Why don’t you sit down? Do you want wine? Or,” Dinah started to offer. However, she looked at Kamala skeptically for a moment, and she shook her head.

   “How old are you?” Dinah questioned curiously.

   “Not the right age for alcohol,” Kamala confessed, and Dinah nodded resolutely.

   “Okay, um… Can I get you a coffee? Or what do you drink?” Dinah questioned, and Kamala was beginning to see that Dinah was floundering a bit.

   “Oh, water’s fine,” Kamala nodded to her with a smile, and Dinah nodded slowly as she headed over to take care of it. Kamala looked around, noticing how everything appeared to be spotless.

   “You have a very clean house. It’s very modern,” Kamala complimented, looking at how pretty, sleek, and pristine that it all was.

   “Thank you,” Dinah responded, and Kamala could hear a lilt of something almost confused in her voice, and Kamala spoke up.

   “Sorry, we just have a very not-modern house, so it’s kind of cool to see something so different,” Kamala explained.

   Dinah turned around, nodding a little as she came over with two cups. She handed Kamala her water before settling in the armchair across from the couch where Kamala was sitting.

   “Thanks,” Kamala expressed, taking a sip. Dinah was silent as she drank her coffee and there were several moments of quiet as they both enjoyed their drinks.

   Kamala cleared her throat.

   “So… How old are you?”

   “Did it not say that on the website?” Dinah questioned, and Kamala smiled at her somewhat awkwardly.

   “It did, but I was trying to make conversation,” Kamala replied.

   Dinah swallowed some coffee before speaking up and echoing the inquiry back at Kamala.

   “How old are you exactly?”

   “Oh, I’m sixteen.”

   “A little young to be traveling to stranger’s houses by yourself,” Dinah acknowledged, and Kamala shrugged as she waved a dismissive hand at her.

   “Nah, don’t worry. I had my totally mature and responsible friend drop me off here,” Kamala assured her, thinking of Nakia where she was likely driving around the block right now.

   Dinah raised her eyebrows, looking down at her mug as she took another drink.

   Kamala figured that now was probably a safe time to start asking Dinah in a roundabout way about the possibility of her being a secret superhero. Kamala sucked in a breath, trying to look as casual as possible.

   “So what do you do for a job?” Kamala questioned, trying to be cool with it.

   Dinah let out a soft breath through her nose as she gazed at Kamala for a long moment, seemingly debating her answer.

   “Law enforcement,” Dinah told her simply, and Kamala was instantly excited. At least Dinah was in the right line of work to possibly be close to a superhero.

   Dinah glanced at her weirdly, offering her a onceover.

   “Oh, sorry, I was just thinking of something,” Kamala dismissed as she tried to look a little less strange to Dinah.

   Now she just had to figure out how exactly that she was going to ask her about being a secret superhero.

   “Soo… Do you do anything… special at your job?”

   “Nothing overly special. Just office work and some field work,” Dinah informed her. Kamala nodded with a hum.

   “I see…”

   “Why are you so interested?” Dinah asked, squinting as she regarded her. Kamala was quick to deny it, feigning nonchalance.

   “No reason. I just was curious about what you do. Need to get to know my super cuz,” Kamala hinted, and Dinah simply looked at her, completely lost.

   Kamala took a big drink of her water, trying to dispel the slight awkwardness that was left in the wake of Kamala’s comment. She looked down in her glass before glancing around.

   “Umm… So where’s your bathroom?” Kamala asked, thinking that this would be the perfect time for her to go and look around a little without Dinah knowing. She also did have to pee, so it served as a good excuse.

   Dinah instantly looked strange as she glanced quickly in the direction of the hall nearby. Dinah then looked back at Kamala just as swiftly. She blinked before answering.

   “Just through that hall. You go through my room and there’s a bathroom there,” Dinah explained as she pointed, raising her voice just a little. Kamala was not quite sure why she did that, but nevertheless, Kamala got up from the couch, looking at Dinah gratefully.

  Kamala could not help a slight bit of giddiness. She would go to the bathroom first and maybe investigate there, and then she would investigate Dinah’s room briefly to see what she could see.

   “Thanks! I’ll be right back, cousin,” she told her, and Dinah let out a deep breath as Kamala headed down the hall.

   Little did Kamala know, Dinah really had not wanted Kamala to go back there.

   Before the kid so strangely and randomly appeared on her doorstep, Frank had been there at Dinah’s place. He had stopped there to return a t-shirt that he had borrowed from her, and somehow, they had ended up actually stopping and talking for a little while.

   When Kamala had come to the door, Frank had hidden in Dinah’s room somewhere. At this point, she was just hoping that he had chosen somewhere like under the bed or in her closet. Honestly, she was not quite sure how he would fit in her closet, but it was nevertheless an idea.

   Dinah drank her coffee, trying to resist the urge to go into her room and at least check around on a surface level if not more in-depth.

   However, she figured that if Kamala would have found him, she likely would have already seen him by now in the living room because he had been busted.

   Just as she had that thought, there was a sudden blood-curdling scream from the bathroom, and Dinah winced as she instantly knew what had happened.

   She hurried back toward her room, opening the door as she quickly moved into the bathroom.

   To her shock, the shower curtain was open, Frank’s back was facing Kamala, and Kamala looked like she had seen a ghost from where she was still sitting on the toilet.

   “What is happening in here?” Dinah demanded, trying to avoid looking at the kid. The awkwardness of the situation was definitely not lost on her.

   Kamala looked horrified as she adjusted her shirt so that it was covering herself a little more effectively as she started to speak.

   “I went in here and sat down and then I started looking at your magazines because I wanted to learn more about you, and then I saw your bookmark in one of them and it was Nirvana and it said ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit,’ and then I was like, ‘what does teen spirit smell like exactly?’” Kamala babbled, and Dinah’s eyes got a little wide as she took in Kamala’s crazy story. She did her best not to look at her all the same despite her temptation to do so.

   “So then because I thought about smells, I thought about your shampoo and soap and then I decided to look in your shower because I was curious about what kind that you use because your hair is so freaking great, and then there’s some man in your shower!!!” Kamala cried, looking positively mortified.

   Frank’s back was turned as he tried to avoid looking at the kid. Dinah sighed tiredly, her hands on her hips as she tried to keep her eyes on the shower curtain instead of on the kid that was currently still sitting on the toilet.

   This was most definitely not at all how she had thought today was going to go. Random relatives showing up at her door, Frank Castle hiding in her shower…

   “Listen, just finish up, okay? Pete, come on,” Dinah beckoned, using his fake name.

   Frank kept his back explicitly turned to Kamala as he stepped out of the shower and headed out of the bathroom quickly where Dinah had the door held open for him. Dinah sighed deeply, shaking her head as she muttered something to herself and shut the door behind her resolutely.

   “You couldn’t have found a better place to hide yourself?” Dinah whispered to him as they came into the living room. Frank furrowed his brow, looking off in the direction of Dinah’s bedroom.

   “Who is that?” he asked before gazing back at Dinah. Dinah wet her lips.

   “That’s my,” Dinah paused as she tried to remember exactly what Kamala had said she was as far as relation to Dinah. She finally groaned, deciding not to even try to repeat all that mess.

   “She’s some relative of mine that supposedly found me on one of those DNA websites.”

   “You believe her?” Frank questioned.

   Dinah just moved her head from side to side, debating it as she weighed out her intuition versus her paranoia. She leaned forward, trying to see if Kamala was coming out of her room yet.

   “I don’t know. She seems normal. Well, normal enough… and she’s way too open. She seems just like some dumb kid, so I guess?”

   “How is she related to you? Did she give any kind of specifics?”

   “Yeah, she did, but I’m not sure if I can even remember all that she said,” Dinah raised her eyebrows.

   Frank set his jaw a little, but at that time, Kamala was coming out of the bedroom, looking rather awkward and embarrassed indeed. He moved toward the couch, ambling away as Kamala approached Dinah.

   “How exactly are we related again?” Dinah asked, and Kamala nodded as she started to do her explaining all over again.

   “Okay, so my dad’s grandma had a brother, right? Now that brother had a daughter—”

   “The simple version. Please,” Dinah tiredly requested.

   “We’re cousins!”

   “That’s how we’re related,” Dinah turned to tell Frank, and Frank raised his eyebrows as he looked between them.

   “Also,” Kamala stopped herself, looking at Frank and Dinah apologetically.

   “I’m sorry, I know we had that whole unspoken agreement about not ever talking about that situation in the bathroom again, but can I ask why you were in the shower with clothes on?” Kamala questioned Frank uncertainly. Frank and Dinah shared a glance, and Frank clenched his jaw a little, looking down at his hands where he was sitting on the couch.

   “Uh… I like showers,” he stated simply.

   Dinah groaned, shaking her head as she spoke up.

   “This is my friend Pete, and he’s the plumber,” Dinah told her, lying through her teeth as she tried not to think of the strangely funny resemblance of the plumber to the Punisher.

   Kamala nodded her head quickly, surprise written in her gaze.

   “Oh, okay! Got it. If you would’ve warned me, I would’ve been totally cool with waiting to pee,” Kamala assured them, and Dinah just forced a slight chuckle as she stood there uncomfortably.

   Kamala then checked her phone, raising her eyebrows before looking back at Dinah.

   “Hey, I’m sorry, I’ve gotta go. My ride’s back and she says we’ve got something to go take care of,” Kamala said, and she wasted no time in hopping forward and hugging Dinah quickly.

   Dinah froze uncomfortably, looking at Frank as she noted he was almost grinning as he kept his eyes averted down toward his hands. She gritted her teeth before Kamala released her quickly.

   “I’ll see you around, cuz!” Kamala happily told her. “And I’ll call next time, okay?”

   “Yes. That would be… ideal,” Dinah nodded, and she followed Kamala over to the door as the kid bounced over to it. She waved to her happily before looking beyond her to Frank.

   “See you, Pete! I’ll be sure to check the shower next time I visit,” she called, offering him a thumbs-up. He waved back to her with a simple extension of his hand.

   “Oh, and thanks for the water,” Kamala told Dinah, and the older woman smiled to her, the motion tight-lipped and nearly like a grimace.

   “Wait, wait, wait, you need my phone number!” Kamala cried, and Dinah paused, as Kamala stood in the doorway to leave.

   “Oh, wait, I’ve got your email. I can just send you my number,” Kamala laughed.

   Dinah was borderline weirded out by the knowledge that Kamala had her email. Of course, the kid had already mentioned something that led her to believe that earlier, but it was still a scary thought.

   “Yeah, I’ll call you,” Dinah said as Kamala headed out the door finally.

   “Bye, Dinah!” Kamala called.

   Dinah wasted no time shutting the door behind Kamala. After a beat, she let out a long sigh of relief as she dropped her chin to her chest and closed her eyes, her hands on the door still.

   Frank let out a chuckle, and Dinah tried to ignore the slight tug in her stomach in response to the sound as she set her jaw and opened her eyes.

   “I’m the plumber now, eh, Madani?”

   “Don’t start with me, Castle.”

BUT THE FRIENDSHIP IS SO PRECIOUS, I CAN’T. they remind of the tiktok sound that’s like “we were girls together” and i literally can’t get that outta my head with them🥺 i think i just love reading about tony and the rest of the gang?? like i love seeing how they fit into the chaotic puzzle that was the beef– ESPECIALLY with all the new changes happening!! plus carmy’s reactions to tony’s dynamic with everyone is actually hilarious😭 like when he was so pressed that ppl have their own nicknames for her. like carmy, please remember to breathe LMAOOO

2. also the current chapters are still making me wanna run up my WALLS😭i don’t think i ever know peace anymore… WHAT DO MEAN THE WORSE DAY IF THEIR LIVES IS COMING?? SAVE ME?? IM SCARED??

ANYWAYS, you can be incoherent-- Just so you know-- It's my job to make sense of what's in my inbox, u don't have to work on that. BUT YES I LOVE WRITIN EM, I am slowly more and more just writing bits and pieces of my own friendships and isms into them. So, they're a delight of memories, to write about. AND VERY MUCH SO WE WERE GIRLS TOGETHER. I think that's literally a line, in delivery fees, something like 'you become girls, together' cause it's just ! regress! in a good way hehe.

I love writing Tony with the idea of a season 3 Bear-- Because it's this weird thing where she is simultaneously new and old-- And everything to her is also new and old. It's this weird fucking neo-nostalgia that's really fun to chew on. AND YES HE'S SO CREASED.

I try to put myself in the perspective of the perspective I'm writing for, with whatever, and when I was writing Carmen's chapter I was like this stupid motherfucker Richie got to do all this shit and hae all these stupid nicknames why the FUCK DO YOU WANT TO SAY HI TO HIM?? RICHIE!!!!?!?!??!?! And then reading it back now, a week or so later, I was like Wow. Kind of a lot, bro. Lets both take a step back.

2. Your fears are valid. Well. Is that what I'm supposed to say here? Hm. Here's what I'll say, I haven't gotten to the bad bad part, yet. So like, it could end up being not that bad, to you guys. To me it's bad. It's really bad. But like, maybe you're fine. ALSO 3RD OR 4TH WORST DAY I SAID-- JUST THE WORST FRIDAY. Because I had to give them Top something, I just needed to get specific.

3. As the littlest sibling, 100%. I can't see myself being friends with any of my older brothers' friends, so the idea of becoming one of their friends and posthumously finding out they were best friends with my brother? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? DID THEY TELL YOU ABOUT ME? DO YOU THINK I'M LITTLE BABY LITTLE STUPID? And it's also like, just being friends with All of The Beef is like ohhhhh, I remember it took me a long time to warm up and make my way with them, but for you it was probably so easy cause you're just like that, which is why I like you so why do I feel angry about that !!!

Thomas giving us summer tips

Müller's health delicacies! -Fresh and cooled in the summer 😎

For many years now I have been intensively involved in facets of health, including healthy eating and fitness. As you know, I share this journey with you and hopefully some inspiration.

In Müller's post, I now simply call this section Health Gossip. In my Bavarian land, a "Schmankerl" means "something especially good" or also a "delicatessen". You guessed it, I'm a big fan of the Schmankerln 😋.

So much for the introduction. Now let's get down to business.

Summer is here, it's hot. You can imagine that heat and especially body temperature is an important factor in competitive sports. To keep performing, "keep cool" is an important motto.

Why?

The body is programmed to keep its temperature around 37 degrees. If it gets hotter, the primary reaction is to sweat to cool down again. To do this, the body uses a considerable amount of energy and resources.

Simply put, it takes a higher heart rate to do the same amount of work because the body is otherwise occupied. This means that we reach our individual limit more quickly. This can make a big difference in a 90-minute football match.

Here is a brief anecdote from the past:

In preparation for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, we knew it would be very hot there. To relieve the body as much as possible during the break, we wore cooling gloves. They were ready and waiting in the locker room.

Visually, it was curious. At halftime, we looked a bit like a group of young veterinarians before an exam.

Today, on hot match days, I work with cold towels that are cooled in the cold water pool and that I can put on at half-time.

Applied to everyday life, we have often heard that in summer you should drink hot beverages rather than cold ones.

This is especially common in southern countries with warm temperatures.

In fact, there people often drink hot beverages such as tea. In this way, they not only hydrate themselves, but also stimulate the body to cool down by sweating.

The moral of the story 🤓

Stay in the shade as much as possible

If you want to get through the heat months well, it helps to make sure to keep your body cool.

A few tips and tricks here are:

Drink plenty of fluids

Wear loose, light-colored clothing

Do sports and other physical activities in the morning or in the evening.

In this sense, have a nice summer, keep your ears stiff & stay lively,

I like that we're slowly exploring more of them, they seem to really want to be obstacles to each other, but also aren't able to ignore each other

1. I vid by using a lot of line-of-sight, meaning I find the beat I want the action to match on the audio line and line it up that way. I, of course, also watch the video/audio preview window but, for fine tuning the beat use, I rely on line-of-sight to get things hitting when I want it to. Hopefully. 🤞😣🤞😂

2. Once I finish my WIPs, I plan on taking a sabbatical from writing. I’m honestly not sure for how long, I’ll have to see how I feel when I get there. Right now, that means, over on the Halo side of the Field of WIPs, finishing “15 Minutes” and “Recreation” and, for the Flash, “The Price,” “Guardian Angel”, “Split” (temp name for final fic in the Ghost of Eobard Thawne series) and whatever I can come up with for the final Snowells Week for this year. 

3. I now have way more games in my Steam library than I’ll ever play in my life.

This is mostly because of how I like to play. I like to get to know a game, to become familiar and comfortable with it. This is why the Halo MCC was perfect for me: I can replay something like Reach a million times and either do exactly what I usually do and STILL have something unexpected happen or I can try out something totally new and different. Like, I had no idea for the longest time that you can save the Troop ‘hog on ONI: Sword Base, the one that drives across the way and gets blown up by the Wraiths as soon as the door opens when you pick up the target locator. But you can TOTALLY save it (with the Acrophobia skull and a plasma pistol 😉) and drive it all of the way through the rest of the mission with a full load of 3 marines and Kat along with you until you reach the elevator section! It will be on fire the entire time but its health is fine, it’s all just cosmetic. So I always save the Troop ‘hog now, unless I have a reason to need a Warthog with a turret on it. I love my Flamin’ Troop ‘hog! I named it Trooper because I’m original and unique. 😎👍

If I have to not save them, I always dramatically exclaim, “NOOOO, MAH BOYS!!!” when Trooper goes boom. 😭😭😭 We also pause to acknowledge Trooper’s destroyed shell when we return to the base later. 😥😉

Anyway, playing like this means I’ll replay one game over and over and, with long games, well... I can spend a LOT of time on them, rather than “one and done” playthroughs and move on to the next one. I just find this more fun than always learning something new. 🤷‍♀️

4. I wish I could take good photos of my action figures but I have a lack of decent light, a serious need for a tripod or something to steady my camera and I could definitely use some cool or interesting backdrop/dioramas. 😕

5. Speaking of action figures, my Master Chief in his Olaf bathrobe is one I’m always going to keep right next to me. I think of him as my Cozy Chief, lol.

8. I listen to a lot of ASMR and I highly recommend it if you have trouble sleeping, need something to listen to while you work or study that is “background noise-ish” or if you have anxiety. If you’ve tried before and didn’t like it or didn’t find it helpful, I also really recommend trying different types. There’s tapping, scratching, mic noises, nature sounds, no talking, whispering, fast, slow, roleplays... Honestly, it’s kinda endless at this point, lol! Headphones recommended as well to get the best effect, IMO. Oh and an ad blocker because there’s nothing worse than drifting to sleep at long last and then HERE, BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! blares you back awake. 😱🤬😉

9. This is the most recent Barbie I bought. She’s sooooo pretty and has a real, knitted sweater!

My mom and I started collecting Barbies in the last year of her life and it makes me feel closer to her, especially if I find something I know she would’ve liked or if I get a great deal on something. Is your house big enough for 10 people 🫠 I can feel myself melting away thinking about the problems you will face 😮‍💨 but having anime people in your house how cool is that 😎

We can make it work. Due to financial and legal reason, my sibling and I have been unable to move out of our parents' home. Here's a preview from what I have written so far that explains how all of them will fit:

When I was 4 1/2 years old, we had to move because my mom's job changed locations. At that same time she was pregnant with my younger sibling, so we also moved into a bigger home. My parents were sold a house they couldn't afford the upkeep on, but they wouldn't understand that for several years. And because of the crashing housing bubble, job markets, and person taste, my parents out right denied the idea of selling the house to get a smaller place we could actually properly take care of. Our roof has poorly patch, holes, and our siding is rotting -to name some of the growing problems. However, it did have a few more rooms than the average house. Both of my parents were hoarders and 7 years after my mom's death, we were still clearing out her things, and fighting my father from adding to the problem. Luckily, in the past few years we had managed to mostly clear out the 2 rooms that had once been a dining room(now "the back room"), and home office (now "the den"). It would be cramped, but we would be able to fit all 9 of them. Both the living room and the den each have a sofa with a pullout queen mattress, and since my dad was a literal hoarder that wouldn't let us throw things out, we have another old queen mattress in our basement, and a king mattress blocking the coat closet. The two old mattresses could be laid on the floor in the back room next to the den. All 4 of those would be enough to fit 9 people ....even with Hina being a giant. I decided to leave the end decisions for who would sleep where to our guests. If they could run a country, they could figure out who was going to sleep where on their own.

Since I was little, my parents pulled out of their pensions and 401Ks multiple times to keep us afloat, so we wouldn't have to move :( We've only been surviving since my mom died, because of me working, and my mom leaving a bunch in savings that my dad uses to pay utilities and most of the food bill. My dad can't work, so I have been the one paying the mortgage, insurance, and taxes for the house too. There are still a few more years left before it will be payed off. Since the house is falling apart it's an eyesore, so we are being charged higher taxes then our neighbors. (This is a common tactic to kick out "problem" families instead of helping them.) Once the house is paid off, I can start putting money aside to be able to try fixing the house, and hopefully get our taxes lowered.

In the fanfic, I plan to have Sin and the Generals work enough to help us, so it won't focus on our struggles. I am planning on having one chapter as set up, and then any other requests for things to happen in the reverse isekai AU will be chapters after that. :D

Me and my younger sibling, Lyly, have discussed reverse isekai for a ton of series before, so we already have some plans for how it could work, and what we would do. Since I started working on this in June of '22, I have talked to my family about what we would do, and how we might make it work. The excerpt I put above is something I talked to them about earlier today, actually XD We talked for over an hour about the different characters and how they might be able to help us too. My whole household knows Magi because I live here and they can't get me to shut up about it XD They've both seen the full anime for Magi and Adventures; Lyly has read a bit of both manga but didn't finish. Everyone in this house agrees that Ja'far is a lot like Lyly, so my dad said he'd be comfortable with Ja'far helping him with paperwork stuff. He also wants to know more about Hina after learning that he's also a widower and over 50 y/o. So it's going to be fun writing how all of them help us get out of the red :3

For all the people that have dm'd me asking if Lyly will ever isekai into Sindria's Prophet after reading my diary comic, "Mori the Webcomic," the answer is: probably not because I don't want to ever misrepresent them. I will write some one shots where it happens for fun, and they will be in this reverse iskekai AU. Lyly is taking a semi active roll with the writing for any chapter that they appear in.

Just the Best 2/2001 2001 Pop / Euro-House / Trance / R&B / Pop-Rock / Europop / Pop-Punk / Dance-Pop / Hip Hop

God, do I really love going through these Now That's What I Call Music!-type comps from Europe. Late 90s/early 2000s releases like these always make for such fun, eclectic trips down memory lane, but from the perspective of a different region of the world. Our top 40 charts in America share a lot in common with other places, and that leads to a nice nostalgia rush for everyone involved, but there's also a lot of music we don't share in common at all. So the goal when listening to these ephemeral things is to get some of that good nostalgia, discover a few sweet tracks that you weren’t previously familiar with, and then hopefully find something so patently absurd and terrible that you really can't help but just smile at how ridiculous it is. And fortunately, I was able to tick all three of those boxes with this 28th dispatch from Germany's Just the Best series.

So let's start with all of this goofy and gaudy, brain-melting Eurotrash madness first, because that happens to arrive immediately on this double-disc in the form of an unbelievably awful and BIG nu-rap-metal cover of, yep, you guessed it, "Kumbaya," by Mittermeier vs. Guano Babes. But get this, y'all (as I pull up a chair and proceed to sit in it backwards): they didn't actually end up calling their version of the song "Kumbaya;" they called it "Kumba Yo!" instead, which should really give you an idea of just how cool this song actually is 😎. I mean, they even loaded it up with turntable scratches and there's a quieter beatboxed portion too! It really is such a dynamic work!

But we're really only just getting started here, folks, because later on in this first disc is also an utterly mindless Italian Eurohouse groove by a group called The Pizza Boys, who deliver their debut hit, "Oh Le Le," with verses about pizza pie that sound like they're being sung by a robot! And, honestly, does it really get more Italian than that?

Tomato, mozzarella Pizza bella, pizza bella Salami, margherita Pizza pazza, dolce vita!

And then there's this group of Danish teenage girls called Little Trees, who end up supplying a piece of manufactured, cotton-candied Europop fluff in...wait for it..."Help I'm a Fish," which apparently served as the title track for a 2001 animated box office bomb by the same name (also called A Fish Tale, which is *not* to be confused with the much more successful 3D-animated 2004 film, Shark Tale), and also somehow managed to fall just outside of the top ten on the UK's Singles chart as well. I've pretty clearly never seen this song's corresponding movie before, but this definitely feels like one of those soundtrack tunes that—just like how cheesy rap songs used to do it in the credit rolls for family-oriented blockbusters in the 80s and 90s—explains the plot of the movie through its very own lyrics. So I think this flick's about the wacky adventures of a kid who gets turned into a fish after ingesting a magic potion. But thankfully, the ending isn't spoiled through the song, so you'll just have to watch it for yourself in order to find out if the kid ultimately chooses in the end to go back to being a human, or if they decide to remain a fish. It's all so suspenseful, I know, but guess what else? The English-language version of the movie also happens to star not only a then-completely-unknown Aaron Paul, but also...Alan Rickman?!?

Alright, enough of this lunacy. Next section.

Let's get to the nostalgia portion of this post, which actually won't be very long, because I think there's only three songs across these two discs that actually turned out to be hits in the States: one-hit wonder Wheatus' radio-friendly nerdy Hot Topic anthem, "Teenage Dirtbag" (currently stuck in my head), which features frontman Brendan B. Brown singing every vocal part, including the falsetto of the female character that he himself is smitten with; the Britney Spears ballad, "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know," which was co-written by Shania Twain and didn't actually chart in the States because it was never released as a single here and only aired on the radio; and then brief R&B star Joe's "Stutter," which, much to my surprise, actually managed to top Billboard's Hot 100 chart for four whole weeks back in 2001?! 😯 An okay slate overall, I guess, but usually when it comes to Euro comps like these, somewhere between about a quarter and a third of their selections are songs that were popular in the US. So, on the early 2000s US nostalgia front, this release seems to be a bit of an anomaly.

And now, to finish with something else that also came as a bit of a surprise: some pretty decent dance tunes. Most of the time, these comps might come with one or two good dance tracks, and then the rest will be these disposable hunks of plastic junk that feel inexplicable as to how people ever unironically enjoyed them in the first place. And, to be clear, there's still a bunch of those types of tunes that are on here (see Gigi D'Agostino's monotonously stupid "Super (Riscaldamento)," featuring Albertino, for example). But there's also a good amount of tracks on this release that, I think, feel both pretty fun and well-made too. Stuffy trance snobs may still bristle at the songs that I'm going to list as highlights here anyway, but I really enjoyed the tribal drum-infused "Played A-Live (The Bongo Song)," by Safri Duo, as well as Airheadz' "Stanley (Here I Am)," which strangely goes on these brief trip hop detours that smack of Dido's "Thank You." Plus, there's a *really* good vocal house tune from French group Superfunk too called "Last Dance (And I Come Over)" that feels kinda perfect for a pool party.

So, another long and strange turn-of-the-millennium trip through the nutty German mainstream is in the books here. Didn't really end up getting the nostalgia rush that I thought I was gonna get, but the unexpected dose of good dance tunes made up for that anyway. And that small handful of extremely tacky and beyond-the-pale Eurotrash could also definitely come in handy for the next time I end up reaching a plastered state of delirium as well 🥴😅.

Yeah the cw superhero lore was incredibly out of pocket! Yeah like the crossover episodes were my favorite ones but they did not fit in with the rest of the shows.

Yeah it was... definitely something. But hey, I survived, so it's all good. It isn't even the most out of pocket thing i experienced in school. My junior high and high school experience was very much like bad 13 Reasons Why fanfiction. In addition to both shootings, there was the attempted r*pe (not against me, but I got involved to help the victim), the dead guy, tutoring a gangster, the alcoholism, the attempted unaliving, the mental illness, the crazy math teacher who accused me of being posessed by a demom... i have hella stories to tell. And thank you! I'm glad I survived too. And thank you again. Mom and I are really close.

yeah they're making a disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Most of the original cast is coming back. But there's conflicting reports on whether or not it'll be good. Apparently foggy won't be a big part of it? Which is a shame.

I had a good Poop 💩💩as soon as I got up hooray!Peter just got home at 8:43 a.m. We went to Mark’s No Frills and Peter shopped ! We are home f9r the afternoon and I did laundry 🧺 all day finally at finished at around 3:45 p.m. We just hung out at the bus 🚌!, my Third left Toes is vertically extremely sore and I might have to go the Health community Centre for some more Antibiotics tomorrow!
