I think we've all been waiting for this one...

Hello my lovely moots, readers, and anyone who has followed me on here (s/o to all 2.3k+ of you!! yes we hit 2.3k!) I wanted to talk about my life a bit since if you've seen it's been a bit hectic as of late. I'm working 30+ hours a week to get money for the inevitable that's coming all too soon in my life, college. Yeah, wild. I started this account as a junior in high school and now on the 19th of August I'm off to college all the way across the country. No joke, I'm from the south of the US and am now going to college in the North, like that's wild to me truly. Lately my life has become a bit unruly, I work most days, and on my off days I try my best to spend those with family and friends since I won't be seeing them for a while once I leave. I apologize for my lack of explanation and sometimes just going completely off the grid from this account but I hope you can understand why!

Now for my small notice, as expected I've decided to take a hiatus from enluv, I really thought I could do it but I just can't keep up with here and my life outside of tumblr, it's been hard to fit writing into my schedule, normally I'd write in the mid day or at night but with work becoming more prominent in my life I'm left tired or working most days so I just don't have time. I hope to come back eventually when I get things sorted in my life but at the moment I have no set date that I'll be back, I may pop in from time to time to chat or maybe post a new work but I can't promise that either. I hope you all understand where I'm coming from and can encourage me on my newest journey in life! So, we all know that in the epilogue, Gale tells Tav:

And if you look at the datamined dialog files and read the dev notes, you’ll see this:

Devnote: With the warmth of having said this a thousand times before.

So, taking that statement as a FACT (which, you know, I’m certain it was intended to be…) we now have a solid numerical value to start with: 1000.

Next, we know that per the narrator at the epilogue start, it’s been 6 months since the defeat of the netherbrain; therefore it’s been 6 months since Gale and Tav got engaged/agreed to live together. We’re going to conclude that they have spent every day together since then.

6 months = 182.5 days

Now, assuming that Gale says ‘I love you’ to Tav on a relatively similar schedule each day (ex: when they first wake up, when Gale heads out to Blackstaff Academy, etc. etc.) we can make an equation:

1000 declarations of love divided by 182.5 days = the amount of times Gale tells Tav he loves them every single day.

We solve the equation and get 5.47945205

We round that down, and voila! We now have flawless mathematical proof that

Something I’ve been thinking about lately is that small moment in “Air Turtle” where immediately after the Daves lose yet another game, Leo says how sorry he is and how he’s doing his best as the mascot. This moment is so short but it’s honestly jam-packed with a whole heap of characterization.

His need to apologize for things clearly not his fault - especially when it feels like he messes up the job he was given despite doing the best he can (the phrase “it’s not about you” takes a new meaning when this is one of the lessons to be learned from that - that he is not always solely responsible for things going wrong), his need to save face and make a connection with an older adult man in his life (something he consistently does throughout the series - he’s got a few daddy issues, always collecting potential father figures, it’s no wonder he jumps at the bit to keep rapport), and the way he sounds and looks and the words he chooses really pushes how he is just a kid (“Mr. the Dunk, I’m so sorry”).

Like I know it’s a one off moment that doesn’t truly mean much, but when put against the rest of the series it works really well with the rest of Leo’s established character and helps in solidifying later concepts as well.
