He’s the only doll (besides the Weird House) who isn’t swayed in some way by Ken’s takeover
He also declares himself as “Ken's buddy" (making canon his official box description) which makes his inability to be swayed more interesting
He has bendable legs (probably the only reason he tries to jump the fence instead of going around like everyone else)
He easily decked a half-dozen construction Kens and could probably singlehandedly win the Ken fight
He seems to know more about the real world than most Barbies
He knows what NSYNC is
He knows about other Allan copies living in the real world (I’m trying to figure out if he made this up to convince the humans he can live in the real world, but even if he did, how does he know what NSYNC is???)
thinking about how the extra area added on to a pacifist run of undertale, the true lab, is about alphys's past mistakes. how it ends with the story reaffirming that, despite the pain she's caused, the thing that matters is that she has now made the choice to do the right thing. she's still worthy of her friends' love.
thinking about how undertale doesn't expect the player to get a pacifist ending for the first time. how it's more likely than not that the player will kill toriel the first time they battle her, how lots of players don't initially figure out how to end undyne's fight without killing her, etc. what it expects — not even expects, really, but hopes — is that the player, if they care enough, will use their canonically acknowledged power over time to make up for those mistakes.
no matter how many neutral runs a player has done before committing to the pacifist run, the thing that matters to the characters, to the story, is that you've chosen, now, to do the right thing.
compared to alphys, the player honestly gets off lightly, in that you're the only one (other than flowey) who really remembers any harm you might have caused. and any direct guilting the game could have done about it is long past at this point.
instead, as undertale often does, it makes its point via parallels: alphys caused harm, and she knows it. she has committed to being better. in doing so, she has unlocked for herself a better ending to her story. and she deserves it. she's forgiven.
those structural narrative parallels are all over undertale, if you know where to look. and that's one of the things that makes it so fuckin' good.
Etho immediately choosing Decked Out 2 (+Tango's reaction)
xBCrafted's Season 10 Episode 17 Hermit Q&A
xB: So, question number three. What has been your favourite project, build, and/or event since joining HermitCraft?
Etho: That I did? Or that other people did?
xB: Uh, just, whatever. Whatever you...y'know, your favourite. Just, whatever.
Etho: Oh, that's gotta be Decked Out 2, then.
xB: Okay. (laughs)
Etho: (laughs) Easy answer!
xB: I mean, you only played it a little, though...
Etho: Ahh, it was a few months. A few months of my life, there. Got a little bit involved.
xB: (laughs) A couple minutes, here and there, you know.
Etho: Yeah.
xB: I know how you are. No. (laughs)
----
xB: I feel like your answer is gonna be the same as Etho's.
Tango: Oh, did he say Decked Out?
xB: Yes he did. (laughs)
Tango: Ohhhh, my hero! Yeah, Decked Out is definitely my answer. Slam dunk.
xB: I was like, 'Yeah, what do you mean? You only played, like, a little bit...'
(both laugh)
Tango: Well, that -- Honestly, the fact that he said that, means -- means everything to me. That's great, that he values it that high. That's great. That's great.
xB: Oh, yeah, yeah. He was like, he was like, 'That's easy. Decked Out 2.' I was like, 'Okay!' (laughs)
Tango: (laughs) Fantastic. Good! Good!
was rewatching fabian’s baron moment on account of it being the most delicious piece of pvp in my recent memory and ally beardsley’s growth as a player just shone through so brightly and with such clarity. after dusting off their shock they immediately asked about the nemesis ward, had enough knowledge about fellow pcs stocked to remember adaine’s ac with such like frustrated confidence and certainty, suggested to siobhan to dimension door out of adaine’s room, like. they came into this making a character with 4 dex. and now the dice deity offered to roll a check to sense if adaine was in danger. making decisions, asking questions, getting invested in the story, trying so hard with the tools they have to save characters from danger; ally beardsley is an incredible d&d player.
Yousef Moner (@/you2.ef_) sent me a message on Insta and we've been messaging for a couple of days now. I believe this is a legit fundraiser based on what I've seen so far on his socials. He has a brother with another fundraiser (@/mohamed_moner1994 on insta).
Their gofundmes are being organized by Layla Ashoor (@/only_one_lulu on insta and 'Layla Ashoor' on FB).
Yousef is trying to evacuate with his sister and parents. I asked him where he is currently staying and he told me that they are in a small tent in Rafah at the moment. His gfm has only 3 donations amounting to £65 at the time I am making this post (04/21 here in the PH), while Mohamed is only at £1,150.
Please donate to him if you are able and share his fundraiser link to help him gain more donations.
i enjoy how in the percy jackson fandom whenever the demigods are being drawn they are given outfits and accesories that play homage to their godly parent (e.g nico with ghouly tshirt motifs, percy with shell bracelets) when in canon these demigods are wearing an assortment of shirts and pants that they find at the bottom of a bargain bin at target, whatever that has not been destroyed in the recent war or camp shirt.
