One of my favorite merthur scenes is Merlin’s “I didn’t want you to feel that you were alone” and it’s so beautiful for so many reasons, but what I don’t see ever mentioned is the moments right after Arthur opens the doors. Merlin doesn’t look at Arthur or give any indication he’s awake until he says Merlin’s name.

I think it’s so special because he’s giving Arthur the choice of what he wants to do. He can leave Merlin there and be alone or he can ‘wake him up’ and have a friend. He knows Arthur might not want to engage with anyone after an entire night spent with his deceased father. It’s a beautiful, understated act of consideration, love, and empathy.

Hey do you guys remember how long it took for Essek to show his natural awkwardness around the Nein? Do you remember how they were friends with him for three months before he even tried making jokes around them? Do you remember the long slow process of him letting down the Shadowhand mask and openly showing how much he enjoyed their antics?

Did you see Essek just being himself around Bell's Hells, this bunch of weirdos he'd never met, even as he pretended to be someone else? Did you see him cracking that dumb joke about his pretend mother being able to stop time with enough ale, and laughing with them? Did you see him watching them for all of five minutes and going, 'This has been a very interesting first impression. I'm excited to see how strange this gets!'

Do you realise how much easier and freer with people he is now? How despite dropping the Shadowhand sleekness and showing his awkward side, he somehow seems more confident? Do you realise that despite the situation right now, Essek seems happy?

No you don't understand how important it is to me that Caleb and Essek have this soft, deep, profound love for each other. These two people who were so broken and saw themselves as so damaged and irredeemable and utterly damned, having the chance to heal together and cultivate this sweet, gentle relationship with each other. The fact that they can now carve out moments of joy together, that they proved you can change and better yourself, with time and effort and love.

Matt taking the time to show that even in just a few little ways, to let Essek express his love so casually and with so much reverence and care is just AUGH. That's how you do redemption arcs. He understood the assignment. That's not only respecting the players for the time they put in to creating these characters and their pathways for growth, but also saying to your players (and viewers), "it's possible. Everyone deserves a second chance at happiness."

They redeemed themselves, together.

it's so fucking insane to me that it's impossible to discuss crowley without also discussing aziraphale and vice versa. their existences are so intertwined that you literally cannot separate them because so many things that defined and shaped them have included each other. that's at least part of why i feel so much about them.

like have you considered they've had nothing and everything but each other for 6000 years? they've only had each other, they're constants in each other's lives, and at the same time they have been able to indulge in music and sleep and food but not each other because it's too dangerous. they are all each other has and they can't have each other.

they rely on each other to a degree that's definitely incomprehensible to the human mind but at the same time, they can't rely on each other because if they get caught it's curtains for both of them. have you considered they live and breathe for each other, that they're absolutely essential to one another? just. fuck, man.

I'm just obsessed with the thought that Dan Heng(and Imbibitor Lunae) becomes really clingy and craves physical contact with his partner because it keeps him warm. He tries to be casual about it, and never openly admits to it, but can't deny how much he appreciates it whenver you have some alone time together.

Dan Heng who always slips his hands beneath your clothes, not even for anything sexual, he just loves and needs to feel the warmth of your skin.

Dan Heng who only sleeps anywhere else but on top of the Archive's servers if he can cling to you.

Dan Heng who barely ever initiates any affection in public but makes up for it behind closed doors.

Dan Heng who loves to bury his face in the crook of your neck because of how warm it is there. On top of that your pulse is a silent rhythm that's strangely calming to him.

After 15 years I finally got the chance to finish this game!! 😭 I had black knight in the Wii as a kid but never finished it coz I sucked at games back then haha I got to play it with a ps4 controller if you catch my drift ;) and it's easily become one of my absolute favourite Sonic games!
