very long rant about volume 2 (SPOILERS)

im just going to start out by saying that my hopes were VERY high for volume 2. I couldn't sleep last night because I was just thinking about canon byler. instead what we got was a messy plot and ZERO character development for will, mike and el. I'm going to break it down using those 3 characters. remember these are MY THOUGHTS. also going to to be talking about social media posts also that contributed to the queer baiting.

firstly, im so over the gay pining trope omg my best friend is straight and he'll never love me back. it's one thing if mil even was put back together this season (it's repetitive and boring and annoying but whatvever) but using a queer person's experiences to further plot lines? a big no no. and even the fact that will's painting was hyped up to be such a big deal and relate to will's sexuality (which the duffer brothers LITERALLY stated in an interview) and it just turning out to be something to help mike tell eleven that he loves her. which if he did, why didn't he say it in their argument where she was literally crying? example number 1 of lazy writing. the coded conversation with Jonathan in the pizza shop was such a let-down. ALSO WHY CANT THEY SAY THE WORD GAY. ITS NOT A DIRTY WORD. and its clear the Jonathan knows but of course they have to keep it discreet and "up to interpretation" for their homophobic audience. don't even get me started on the cabin scene which would have been a perfect opportunity to parallel season 2 and have mike hold will's hand. but of course not. then they had that lame ass shot at the end of all the couples standing next to each other just to hint at the queer audience that "omg this is the byler scene" and then to leave it at that. I mean the cast wasn't wrong when they said we would need time to process what happened after it finished because literally what the fuck was the mess that is volume 2.

sigh. what have the duffers reduced his character to at this point. seriously, what point does he serve in the plot other than el's boyfriend? it seems as if the writers love to introduce new characters just to kill them off (rip Eddie) and simultaneously ignore their characters development that has been built up throughout the seasons. the fact that he couldn't say I love you to el in the bedroom when she was crying, but only say it in the heat of the moment when she was almost dead USING WILLS GUIDANCE. this is literally just a repeat of season 3 where he uses all of his friends, but this time will instead of Lucas, to help fix his own relationship. it's like he's not even his own person anymore. it also makes no sense that he would be awkward with will in the airport and argue with him and stuff if he has no feelings for him? he also hugged dustin in the previous episode? like what. im so angry because the writers had the best chance ever to make mike wheeler one of the best representations of internalized homophobia but they took the easy route instead so that the casual viewers and general audience don't riot and say that "it came out of nowhere" he feels like a completely different person than he was in season 1 and 2. lastly the fact that he said it was the best day ever when he found eleven on the DAY WILL WENT MISSING??? fuck you mike, but more importantly fuck the duffer brothers.

Homesick MC Taking It Out on The Demon Brothers

Glancing over at the photo that laid on your night stand, a deep feeling of anger and resentment began to reside in the back of your mind. Sitting up, you reached over and grabbed the photo. It had been taken a long time ago; specifically when you had last seen your family. Your last birthday before the Devildom.

The picture consisted of your two younger brothers, yourself, your mom, and your dad. You always seemed to smile when you saw the way your brothers had wrapped their arms around you, seemingly begging for you to stay. However, this time when you looked at the photo, you couldn’t hide the distinct frown that overcame your features.

It had now been 9 months since you came to the Devildom and it pained you to be away from the ones you loved for so long. Even if you had found more people to love around you, you couldn’t help the feelings of homesickness and resentment that resided within you.

Feeling a deep sense of dread, you found yourself aimlessly wandering the halls. Whenever you felt homesick, you usually went to find the brothers and listen to their sibling bickering; it reminded you of your own brothers and made you feel like not so much had changed.

This time, instead of finding the brothers engaging in a hopeless argument with no winner, you found an upsetting scene before you. In this situation, there were 6 winners and 1 particular loser: Mammon. You couldn’t believe what you were watching.

Standing there, taking in the scene, your eyes flickered between all of the brothers in disbelief. The first thing that had caught your eye was the dangling second eldest brother that hang from the ceiling of the stairwell. Beside him, the eldest brother winded up his arm, preparing to once again hit his younger sibling with the shiny, black paddle that glimmered in the dim lighting.

Once the paddle struck, you heard a distinct chuckle from your right. This is when you had seen Satan and Asmo kneeling on the ground below Mammon, laughing at his tear-stained face as he couldn’t stop himself from breaking down in front of his brothers. One thing you did not expect to see, however, was Beel, Belphie, and Levi standing in the back, smirking and laughing to themselves as they leaned against the stair railing. This is what brought you over the edge.

Lucifer winds his arm back up again, Mammon’s crys growing louder. “Please! It wasn’t me! I swear! Please! I cant take it anymore, ya raging psycho!!” He closed his eyes tightly, the fear evident on his face as his tears fall to the floor beneath him.

Mere seconds before solid wood met skin, you furiously stepped in between Lucifer and Mammon, shielding the brother. Firmly, with no fear, you demanded, “Stop this nonsense.”

None of the brothers had expected this. You had teased Mammon just as much as anyone else; it made no sense for you to step in. But you did and they wanted to know why. All of the 6 brothers straightened their backs, tensing up at the fury radiating off of you as they awaited an explanation. “What..is the matter with you all?!” Full of anger and disgust, you bitterly demanded an explanation.

“What’s the matter with us?! What’s the matter with you?!” Asmo chirped as he rose from his knees. “This Jackass took my brand new limited edition red peppermint scented Devildom lipstick!” With this, he pointed an accusatory finger at Mammon, raising his eyebrows, waiting for you to defend his thief of a brother.

With this ridiculous accusation, you crossed your arms. Calm and steadily, you rose to the challenge Asmo had thrown at you. “It’s behind the bathroom sink. It rolled off the counter and got stuck there while we were gossiping in the bathroom this morning while you got ready. You said you would get it later. I guess you must’ve forgotten.”

The cold stare you gave Asmo spoke paragraphs. He hesitantly lowered his arm, admitting defeat. “Would any more of you like to accuse your brother of anything else?” In shame, 5 of the demon brothers before you not only lowered their heads in shame, but slightly shook their heads no as well. “Then we’ll be on our way then. Beel, untie the end of the rope and let Mammon down. Now.”

Beel does as you say, no retort to be heard. Once he was lowered onto the floor, you strode over to Mammon, beginning to untie the rope that covered his body. In response, Lucifer spoke up, “Why are you defending this scoundrel?” Furious and even more upset than before, you whirled around, leaving Mammon’s hand free to finish untying himself.

“That ‘scoundrel’ is your little brother, Lucifer! I would’ve thought that you out of everyone here would’ve known the importance of being a big brother. Your job is to protect and love him!! Not perform public beatings as amusement!!” As much as Satan loved watching you blow up at Lucifer, he was as equally concerned for you and the emotions you were feeling.

Taking a step forward, Satan held his hand out and gently questioned, “MC, why are you so upset about this? We’ve done this a million times before.” The look of concern on his face made your stomach twirl. The lack of respect Satan had for his own flesh and blood compared to the admiration he showed a random human being was devastating.

“That’s exactly what the problem is. You’re all so caught up in your own bullshit that you decide to spontaneously throw it on Mammon without acknowledging the consequences and pain that comes as a result. It’s absolutely disgusting and makes me feel repulsed.” You hesitated for a moment before seething the harsh words on your mind. “If I was back home, I would protect and love my brothers, no matter the cost. You all are pathetic excuses for brothers.”

Mammon, finally having enough with all he had heard, lightly grasped your hand, forcing you to look away from the demons in front of you. “C’mere. It’s ‘kay.” You soon felt yourself being embraced by Mammon, his strong arm holding your head against his chest. It hadn’t been until you felt the wetness on Mammon’s shirt that you realized that you’d have been crying. Feeling utterly hopeless, you let out a sob.

After a few moments of complete silence, you gently double-tapped Mammon’s shoulder blade, letting him know that you were okay now. Once free of his hold, you straighten your back, closed your eyes, and calmed yourself with a deep sight. Having regained your composure, you whirled around to face the monsters in front of you with a gentle smile.

“Being that you’re the reason I’m here in the first place, Lucifer; I wish to not speak with you for the remainder of my stay here at the Devildom.” With these words, all that could be heard was the sound of leather gloves tightening around the wooden paddle in Lucifer’s hand in desperation. “I also wish the privilege to go see my family whenever I ask, no matter what you’re doing.” The scowl on Lucifer’s face deepened. “Because I actually care for my brothers, afterall.”

The room had become so silent that the sound of a single crumb dropping to the floor could be heard. “Is that understood, Lucifer?” Your eyes bore into Lucifer’s, challenging him to protest. With no reply given, you giddly turned around and placed your hand on Mammon’s chest, urging him to leave. “Great! Then we’ll be on our way then!”

Confused and unnerved, all of the remaining six brothers could do was watch you start to walk away. You, however, decided to stop in your tracks. Back still turned to the demons, you coldly stated, “If I ever find any of you taking advantage of or abusing the brotherly bond you’re able to share with each other ever again: I won’t think twice before I go before Lord Diavolo and wish for my return to the human world.”

Having made your case extremely clear, you began walking again. There was one last thing you had to say, however. “You’ll do well to remember this incident the next time you even think of stealing an innocent human away from their life again.”

So my favorite thing about this episode was (and I briefly mentioned this in the bullet points) how the pacing seems to fit the urgency of the Malivore threat. It reminds me a lot of season 1′s intensity regarding Malivore and I’m glad we’re switching the tone to properly showcase that as the MotW format was hindering the much needed tension.

I think all the main friendships were really strong! We got Lizzie and Kaleb friendship, Josie and Hope friendship, MG and Kaleb, and the one I’m most excited for, Landon and Cleo’s friendship. I’m really glad the show is exploring different friendship dynamic this season, it really helps solidify that the Super Squad really is a legitimate Squad of close friends.

Uh...well, y’all know how I feel about Mizzie and Lethan. Did not like it at all. It all just feels very forced and stupid especially when the strongest dynamic out of all three really is Methan and that should legit be the main ‘relationship’ focus (be it romantic or otherwise at this point).

Im really happy about the last content 💅🏼💅🏼but i also wonder why they were so carefree like normally they couldn’t even come side by side. (my english is not that good sorry)

First off wtf your English is so good also we're not forced to excel in our third or second language duh. We're doing so fine so far and we're being understandable that's all that matters.

And second i don't think kaisoo interacted much today to actually judge their behavior yet. Maybe later when we have evident and clear interaction, that's why I didn't post about today, seemed like a weak moment but I'm so happy we got kaisoo shit after a 2 years drought!!! Driving back home in the same car even though they didn't come in the same car, and i still don't get it why Ji didn't take the pic with them later after he came? They even said he came with Minseok so why seok was in the pic but not Ji? That seemed suspicious i cant explain it? Why couldnt they wait for Ji to come in case he was somewhere in the bathroom or cafe to take the pic with them if he was said to have come with Minseok in the same car????? That gave me a headache. I actually thought ESSEM is at it again forbidding them from being in one frame or maybe they were on a fight, they didn't even speak or stood next to each other, unlike when Sehun hugged Ksoo and Ji talked with SUHOE but there was no interaction btw them? Heck even the body guard hugged ksoo and kept his hand on the small of kyungsoos back and kept rubbing his arms and waist which was annoying btw. And when I saw them driving in the same car with no interaction, ksoo didn't even look behind him, didnt talk to Ji, and ji was confused and didn't know if he will drive with ksoo in the same car or he has to go in another car as he came with Minseok, u can see in the video that ji didn't straight ahead go to the car after Ksoo, he kept waiting for orders from the manager, it's until the manager motioned for him to get in the car that he got in! He was waiting for the staff to decide and organize their car rides, so i don't believe they purposely went on the same car cuz they planned to, i see thay they didn't know they were going in the same car until the very moment when manager-nim told them to ride same car. If u analyse well u will see all of this. What I do believe actually is that the MEMBERS left on same car purposely to let kaisoo comeback alone in the same car to give them privacy maybe? So I kept thinking that maybe they had a fight still.. and that they needed to talk alone and members didnt want to be there so they left them alone. But when i watched Ji's live and his messages on bubble and how much he said he was happy and excited today and the sound of someone in the room when he was going live and the noise of utensils being used in the kitchen caught my attention; I was finally relaxed and I said that maybe i overthought things. And that they're actually fine. I was just being emo.

So yeah I'm happy with today's crumb but can't see it as a strong moment coz we had no actual interaction, i still believe that kaisoo still are controlled and asked to be lowkey. Coz they talked to everyone but to each other, which was frustrating & sUs sis.

FIRST MOMENT IN 2 YEAR KAISOO DROUGHT, y'all remember this day and let's celebrate its anniversary next year and in the years ro come.

I'd agreed to assist Lucifer with all the Halloween prep for a few reasons, for one, how could I say no to him between the ordering around and the cheeky smiles he knew I would agree. Two, it gives me more time with him which I'm always craving, so much lately. 

But while waiting for the info on Diavolo for his party, "There's someone else who is special to me" he said to me. He stepped forward slowly and the look in his eyes slowed down time, my breathe caught when he reached up and around my head to sink his hand in the crook of my neck and leaned forward to kiss my lips. My body responded by leaning into the kiss but my breathing gave me away when I took a sharp intake of air as he stepped back.  In 2 seconds flat my knees were weak and I knew my face must be burning red.

Over the time I've spent in the devildom he's flirted with me, charmed me with his smirks and been overly protective of me. That was very normal. They say the first time you share food with your soulmate it tastes like nothing you've ever eaten in your life. Some people say its like having a mouth full of popping candy, others say its like the best cake you've ever eaten. like the one you had when you were five that looked like a witch and everything was sugary deliciousness.

The one thing that everyone can agree on is that it always tastes sweet. 

Of course not everyone has the time or inclination to sit through an endless impossibility of meals in the hope that their date is their fated to be. So people started having little crackers set out on tables at restaurants or in the doorway of homes for the express purpose of finding out on first meeting if the person in front of them is their soulmate.

This has lead to a booming industry of meeting wafers and business cards made of edible paper. Its standard on meeting someone new to each pull out a wafer or card, break it in half, and give it to the other person. The wafers are tasteless little things but are as sweet as honey if the other half is between the lips of your soulmate.

Some people even have little unsweetened biscuits they bake at home (they say you have better luck if you make them yourself).

Communion of the souls, some lapsed catholic wiseass nicknamed it once and it stuck.

Its so ingrained in society that the first time Roxanne Ritchi is kidnapped by Megamind she's deeply confused as to why she feels hungry despite it being right after lunch.

Its actually the reason she doesn't scream the first time. She's so thrown by not being offered a broken cracker that she feels unsettled and confused for at least half the kidnapping before she figures it out and starts paying attention to the show.

Of course repetition breeds familiarity and after a few months he starts offering her coffee or a glass of water while they wait for the hero to show up and before you know it its been five years and they spend more time talking than he does fighting or threatening her. She's brought her lunch along a time or two when she was kidnapped on her way to spending her lunchbreak in the nearby park and they've definitely both eaten Minion's baking together so of course they aren't soulmates.

Even if you asked each of them and neither of them were able to pinpoint exactly when it was they confirmed this. Its been so long they have to have shared something.

Not everyone goes in for the whole Soulmate thing anyway. Some prefer hiking dates or just to not share food at all until it comes up naturally. Or just assuming that the possibility of a soulmate doesn’t mean you cant build a life and love with someone else.

Roxanne isn't in the world's greatest hurry to find her soulmate. If only because it will confirm once and for all that the feelings she has for a certain blue alien are never meant to be.

Its only a little crush. Just a forced proximity thing. Like a coworker you can objectively state is hot even if nothing is ever going to come of it because you are professional and this is a work environment and so what if he's brilliant and funny and incredibly handsome? Its not like he feels the same way about her.

Megamind knows for a fact his species had soulmates. He just assumed that being the only one left meant he wasn't going to find one on earth of all places. Its certainly not Miss Ritchi at any rate. Evil Gods how embarrassing that would have been, kidnapping the woman you were meant to spend the rest of your life with. He does hope they might still be able to exchange emails occasionally after she finds her soulmate. He's been working up the courage to ask her about exchanging addresses some day.

He's only a little bit madly in love with her. He's sure he'll get over it if when she finds her soulmate. Until then he'll just enjoy what little of her company he can.

The eighty first time they meet, after years and years of kidnappings, she tells him that the hero is off fighting wildfires interstate and is probably going to be a while. His shoulders slump and he asks if she'd like a cup of coffee while they wait and she offers some of the biscuits her coworker had just brought back as a souvenir from Japan that she had in her bag.

And there they sit, her in her chair, he in his. Discussing the weather and the life-cycle of the giant cuttlefish and everything in between as they drink coffee and eat matcha butter cookies.

They both reach for the last biscuit at the same time and Megamind pulls his hand back, "No it's yours," he waves and skids away on his chair to check on the status of the wildfires.

Roxanne snaps the last one in half and tosses it to him without thinking and he catches it without looking away from the screens, "So anyway, they all congregate in this place called Whyalla and-" she bites down on her half as he eats his.

And sweetness bursts on both of their tongues.

Really, after five years of kidnappings finding out a supervillain is your soulmate should have been more climactic.

"Oh." He says and turns to look at her in a mix of startled hope and fear.

"Oh." She echoes and licks the crumbs from her fingers because she's not quite sure what else to do.

"I guess I should untie you."

"I guess you should."

He makes short work of the ropes binding her waist and feet. She stretches and gets up and for a moment he thinks she's going to leave because she deserves better than this, better than him.

But she offers a hand to pull him to his feet and doesn't let go when he stands. Her hands are warm through the leather and she smells like coffee and sunshine.

"Um," she says smiling, and there is warmth and hope and impossibility blooming in both of their chests. "I hope you don't mind. But I'd really like to kiss you now."

"Mind?" He exclaims, "Mind! Miss Ritchi in what world would I ever mind kissing you, even if you weren't my soulmate!"

"You wanted to kiss me even if I wasn't your soulmate?" She asks, startled.

"Of course!"

"Oh," and she smiles again, "Good, me too." She lifts her hand to his cheek and guides him gently forward to press her lips to his. His mouth trembles against hers for a moment, and she realises he's laughing. Suddenly she's spinning in the air as he whirls her around with a shout and captures her lips again. She wraps her arms around his neck and she’s laughing too.

"I can't believe its you," he says in wonderment, drinking in the sight of her face like he's never really let himself look at her before.

Roxanne runs her hand over the curve of his skull and basks in his smile, delighting in the fact that of two whole planets entire galaxies apart they still managed to find one another and he's hers, hers, hers. "Me either," she says and kisses him again for good measure, "I just have one request,"

"Anything" he promises instantly.
