So.
I could be so wrong about this but I gotta get it out of my head.
Vincent and Rody would make a slightly better pairing than Manon and Rody-
HEAR ME OUT.
The reason why Manon broke up with Rody was because of the fact that he was far too self-sacrificing in thier relationship. Which like GOOD FOR HER, THAT AIN'T GOOD-
But when you take a look at Vincent's actions, he's just as self sacrificing, just in a lot more of a brutal way. Going out of his way to KILL PEOPLE just to make some food that Rody would enjoy. The same way that Rody would constantly want to get money to get Manon things to keep her in his life.
It wouldn't be HEALTHY, both of them being far too self-sacrificing and just obsessive, but it makes sense for them since their both the same level of batshit over whoever they feel either romantic to [or have a general wanting to impress, like Vince with wanting to make food for Rody]

That conversation between PatPran about their parents' reactions to the play and everything makes so much more sense to me. Ming isn't on social media and he doesn't really care about Pat's extracurriculars outside of rugby. He's not going to care what event Pat puts on or is involved in - he likely also doesn't have much room to say anything anymore. So Pat can give up his play for Pran, he can sacrifice that without it being an issue.
But Dissaya likes all of Pran's photos, is still a big part of Pran's life. She's okay with them acting together because it's just a play, it means nothing. She cares about all of Pran's achievements. She would care that he suddenly isn't putting up a play as his department event when he does so every year. She would care even more if engineering put on that play instead.
No wonder Pran is so anxious, no wonder he's on a mission for this permission. And if it fails once he's tried everything, he has an answer for Dissaya. Until then, he's an impenetrable (i'm trying very hard not to make the joke i want to make) ball of stress.
But you get Phupha intervening and giving them the signature with the condition that only PatPran can play the leads and Pran has a convenient reason. How he sells it, I'm not sure. Maybe just a simple "they're making us work together". Who they is, Dissaya doesn't need to know. But a lie with a hint of truth is always easier - especially when you're lying about so much already.
Pran is aware of how much Pat is sacrificing because that includes his relationship with his dad. Pran is aware that he still has a relationship with his mom. Pat is aware that him and his dad's relationship will never be the same whether he gets to be with Pran or not. Pat is aware that Pran is risking a lot in his relationship with his mom. They're both still scared.
And then you add in Pran-as-Phupha telling Pat-as-Tian "no one should use their whole life to repay anyone" and you have Pa tear up at that? Good god, the sheer amount of guilt these two families carry with them, that all three of these children are trying to work through.
This isn't Pat getting really into character and Pa getting really invested in the play they're putting on. This is their lives, each and every day. Everything around that is them trying their best to live for themselves, to not let that guilt take over their lives. Because that brings them right back here
Once again, I'm very happy that this is a little stopping point before ep 12. That we get to see them be happier. That as they get older and older, they get more and more freedom, they get to expand their world just the slightest bit more. They need it. And this is the reminder of how hard they worked for that happiness we see.
and also, this just made it clearer to me how much pran needed to go to singapore. just to get away from Dissaya. just to get to the point where he tells dissaya the big moments of his life when he comes back, when she's not tuned into everything. when she can hear pat sneak into pran's room the moment he's back and know that not only is she okay with it but after everything, there's nothing she could do even if she wasn't. they all need time but these kids also need space

Hank, Sanford and Deimos with a Reader who does Handcrafts
Gonna post my old MadCom stuff since people seem interested in it! I didn't write too much back then, but I'll post it anyway and hope for some MadCom requests as well! What the title says! Reader knits, crochets and embroiders in this! The format is different from how I usually write, but that's because I wrote this months ago, if not in 2022! I don't remember when, but it's been a while since I wrote this!
Hank
If you get his attention while doing one of your crafts, expect him to just stare at you for a while. He knows what knitting is, since you can use those needles to stab someone with enough force, but he never really cared much for any of it. So, seeing you do those small, but precise movements has him somewhat curious. If you beckon him closer to check out what you’re doing, he will approach you, taking your piece from your hands and gently examining it, before returning it to you.
While he won’t join you that often due to his occupation, Hank will lie down next to you from time to time, watching you work until he falls asleep eventually. Doing so next to you, especially when you’re knitting or doing embroidery, takes a lot of trust on his behalf, so it’s a rather rare occurrence, but it might happen. Still, sometimes even Nevada’s most wanted can’t resist getting some sleep in.
If you give him a scarf or anything of the likes it might seem like he doesn’t like it at first. As he only grunts in acknowledgement and doesn’t wear it, it might seem disheartening at first glance. But rest assured, he’s well aware that him wearing it would only get it covered in blood, and he wouldn’t want your creation, that you put so much love into, to get sullied like that. Hank does keep it somewhere hidden where only he can find it so that it won’t get stolen as well, he truly does treasure anything you give him.
Sanford
He has helped his mother crocheting every once in a while when he was young by holding her wool for her. Sanford always thought it to be really cool how you can make something so beautiful out of something as simple as wool and yarn. Much like he did when he was younger, he’ll hold your yarn for you, making it more comfortable to knit or crochet for you. Unlike Hank and Deimos, he will try to learn it as well. It seems relaxing, so why not? But by no means is he a master. Due to his strength, he will likely rip the yarn and wool apart from time to time and come to you for help.
In order to relax and unwind a bit, he’ll likely come to you and ask if you would like to practise your craft for and with him. Having you around in and of itself already makes Sanford happy, but just getting to spend time with you without having to worry about being killed by the enemy makes it all the better. If you let him, he will hold you close, lean into you, put you on his lap, anything you’re comfortable with.
Please give him a sweater. Because he’s never wearing a shirt he gets cold fairly easily. He’ll cherish it dearly and wear it whenever he can, and whenever he knows it won’t get ripped. Another thing he’d be very happy with would be a piece of embroidery. It reminds him of better times and gives him hope, especially when your piece of art is something pleasant and sweet to look at. Because of that, he will put it up somewhere in his room where he can always see it. Even if Deimos makes fun of him for it, he will simply lightly jab at the smoker, all the while smiling at it.
Deimos
He’ll lovingly call you a grandma for having hobbies like these. Even while doing embroidery, where you stab things thousands of times, he will snicker at you whenever he catches you doing any of these things. Though, he doesn’t mind that sort of thing at all since that means you’ll be sitting still for a while, meaning you’ll give him a chance to unwind with him. Deimos will wrap his arms around you, leaning onto you or just cuddle into you in general. No fighting, no getting hurt, just watching you do the same movements over and over again.
Despite possibly calling you boring, he does have great respect for your craft, since he can’t do any of it. It’s too tedious and he can’t sit around for long enough doing something like this. It’s simply not exciting enough. But the moment you give him his first sweater, he will think it’s the most awesome thing to ever exist. Proud as a peacock, he will flaunt and taunt his new piece of clothing, especially to Sanford and Hank, declaring just what a great lover he has.
Present him with a plushie and his mind will be blown. He always thought knitting and crocheting are just for woolly hats and sweaters and scarves and all. If he sees you made him a tiny grunt, he will simply lose it, run around the Status Quo base and show everyone what you’re capable of. It doesn’t even matter to him whether or not it looks good. Your hands are magical to him and absolutely everyone has to know just how cool and epic you are.

I think the thing that fucks me up more about Lister’s dream is the hug that comes just before the kiss.
like the kiss moment itself is a tad awkward and it was probably kind of meant to be and it’s played a little silly for the dream sequence as they just smush their faces together (and also that puckering of Rimmer’s lips as they lean in lmao)
But I mean it makes me feral anyway bc I can’t believe they did that at all and I love the implication much later in Red Dwarf that dreams and hallucinations etc create their own universes so Somewhere out there there’s at least one universe where that moment was real and they’re fully canon somewhere;;;
But anyway the moment immediately before the kiss even happens gets me every time.
Like they’ve just said they both miss each other and the emotional weight of the moment becomes too much so Lister gets up and pulls Rimmer into a hug and Rimmer’s face destroys me bc it’s very much that ‘oh god…I’m finally home’ kind of hug.
Like he looks a little overwhelmed immediately, like all the air’s been knocked out of him by this first touch with Lister since that last goodbye hug in Stoke Me A Clipper. A hug itself is a kind of comfort he probably hasn’t experienced much of in the first place and certainly not one with as much emotional weight to it. The knowledge that someone missed him, that Lister missed him!!
And the little sway they do in the hug, and the way Rimmer’s face softens hearing Lister tell him not to leave ever again. It makes my heart burst;;;

There are four main types of Batfam fans in regard to how people interpret Bruce Wayne as a dad (/Joking. This is mostly satire and should not be taken seriously):
Fans that think Bruce is emotionally constipated and isn't the best at being a parent but still tries (Differs per person). Don't necessarily think he's absuive but thinks he can be toxic or have unhealthy expectations for the Robins. Can smell the Oldest Daughter Syndrome coming from Dick and have Family Line (By Conan Gray) as their top song on their Dick inspired playlist and Daddy Issues (By The Neighbourhood) for Jason.
Fans that choose to believe Bruce goes to therapy in their own canon. Love B:WFA. Thinks the comic can be cheesy at times and so find a balance between B:WFA Bruce and Please Go To Therapy BruceTM as their middle ground. He struggles. They advocate that Bruce is not a bad parent, he just has bad writers that seem to forget Bruce wouldn't hurt kids, especially not his own. Love the humane moments and scenes he has in BTAS and the early JL cartoons. He may not be perfect but he's not literally abusive. Whores for Bruce being able to admit when he is wrong and for Jason and Bruce reconciling. I recommend Grow As We Go by Ben Platt for this one.
A mix between the first two. Was fine-ish when Dick was younger. Didn't help him in the healthiest way but eh. Still emotionally constipated but that happened more so after Dick left and Jason died. Started getting better when Tim came back but was still closed off. Should probably go to therapy with the kids so they can drag his ass about all the things he's done that have actually affected them negatively. Understands his mistakes and is also able to admit when he's wrong, eventually. It's not easy but he starts to do better and learns to be more emotionally available. Still has to get chewed out by Alfred sometimes but definitely better than he used to be and it shows. Reconciliation is slow and gradual but progress is made for everyone involved.
The one's I personally avoid for my own sanity and wellbeing:
Think Bruce is a complete bastard and abuser. Want him to choke. Hate any and all interpretations of him. Some of which will refuse to understand how anyone could have a different interpretation. Will point out comics where, in all fairness, he is a dick but forget that characterisation can significantly differ from one series to the next, as comic characters are constantly passed around to different writers and have been for decades. Not to mention movies, shows, etc.
