He speaks more quickly now to cut off the protests he can see forming "He's been driving wedges into this gang and I'm done letting him! He may be Dutch's man, but that does not mean that he is a part of our gang." 

This denial sparks widespread support from the gathered gang, with many firm nods, fierce agreements, and vicious smiles. Hosea nods back at them, pleased with how well they're taken his edict. "Is there anything else that needs bringing up while we're all here?"

Tilly clears her throat and sits forward on her box, waiting until she has everyone's eyes to say "I don't think that it's a good idea for anyone to be alone with Micah. We-" she gestures around to the ladies "already have it where if he's cornering someone you go intervene-" 

Tilly is cut off by the outcry this revelation causes, the menfolk protesting and demanding what Micah had done. Becoming only more agitated by the hesitant protests and hand waving that Micah hadn't really done anything, just 'spewed his regular shit'.

"Alright, ALRIGHT!" Hosea calls them back into order "This is what I'm saying! This is how Micah is breaking this gang! With a thousand small words and actions that seem like nothing on their own, but are adding up to a landslide that we're all caught in!"

He takes a few calming breaths while the grumbles die down, then gives a gracious nod to Tilly and continues "That is an excellent point Tilly. No one should be left alone with Micah. If Dutch puts you on a mission with him, go with friends if you must go at all. Was there anything else?" 

With the collective headshake Hosea dismisses their semi-formal gathering with a clap of his hands and a few final friendly words. Then moseys over to his bedroll to read a few pages of his book before he goes to sleep, leaving the gang to rumble out the minutiae amongst themselves.

my friend is discovering fallout 4 for the first time

i love fallout 4. ive played that game to death and beyond. i know most details and all the endings and many of the quests and weapons and - yes im well aware of its problems, but i still enjoy it. i did enjoy it. ive moved on to other, better rpgs *cough cough baldurs gate 3 cough cough* and didnt think much of my beloved 1st person post apocalypse talking simulator. until my friend told me he got it and started playing it. for some reason i had already assumed he already played it but to my surprise, he knew nothing of the franchise. he had dabbled in skyrim for a bit, sure, but apparently he had no knowledge of bethesda's 2nd masterpiece. when i was in a voice call with him next, he of course, shared his screen so i could watch him stumble along the commonwealth, dying to bugs and raiders alike. he had gotten to the raider gang in the corvega assembly plant, the one in power armor and with a rocket launcher. i misremembered what the raider had and told my friend to beware the fat man. he didnt know what that was. he didnt know what the fatman was. thats when i realized something.

i had played fallout 4 for well over 400 hours, pretty low compared to other people but enough to where i can spew out random facts about that damn game. but my friend not knowing what the fatman was- the most iconic weapon in the fallout franchise- made me realize how fresh this is all to him. here is someone who is discovering this world with new eyes, not knowing a single thing abt the commonwealth or the minutemen or the shitty story or the repetive quests. when people wish to relive their favorite games in fresh eyes, they wish for this. here i was, as my friend's guide thru this junkpile of a game, seeing it thru new eyes once again. the thrill of discovery, smth i strive for but shy away from. im scared to try new things. i love my sameness. but that gets boring. it sure as hell gets boring. but not anymore.

i saw this as much when my friend stumbled upon covenant and i told him it was a good quest. i maybe shouldnt have even told him that but i wanted him to see it for himself and made sure he did it before it locked him out. he did the entry quiz, making a joke about how hes not getting let in and showed surprise when he was. now for me, i know u r let in no matter ur answer- a mix of irony w the whole synth test and also bethesda game design- so it was fun to see his shock. he walked around covenant and i suggested to him to get deezers lemonade. he tried to get infinite but sadly, all you get is what deezer has in stock. that started the quest and he was making comments about how sus the town was. yes! hes on the right track. he now had to track down a caravan and got mighty lost. i had to explain to him how quest markers work and surprisingly how to access his quest log. i guess its not all obvious to many. he had to leave shortly after but in dms he was telling me how he wanted to save a certain npc in covenant. my heart sank. bethesda doesnt work like that. if he turns against covenant, that npc that he loves will turn on him and he will be forced to kill her. idk if he has gotten that far in the quest line (i'll see later when he wakes up) but i dont want to imagine the disappointment.

thats what i realized with besthesda games. while they make great atmospheres and music and lore, the actual gameplay and rules are never clear. its not like baldurs gate where larian thought of every possible outcome for every quest. its more bethesda knows rpgs must have differing outcomes but doesnt understand what that means. when they market their games to be freedom of choice and play how you want and "see that mountain, you can climb that", it sets an expectation. an expectation they dont follow thru on. i hope this doesnt dissuade my friend from continuing. i think he will really enjoy some of the quests and especially power armor. he already decided to play for a power armor build. it would be very funny if he sided with the brotherhood of steel for his first run, as i did since i was a dumb kid and didnt understand the blatant military critique that it was. he might, as i did, think, big gun means fun time. thats perfectly fine. the factions in fallout 4 arent as deep philosophically as bethesda treats them to be.

all in all, watching my friend discover this great game for the first time has reminded me of my struggles with the game. he even had his first bugs due to modding. a bug i had similar issues with but we quickly solved. my hope for him is that he finds as much passion in the game as i do. theres a reason its in my top 5 games.

I know ive said this before, but this episode, forced gay/mlm marriage and all, really felt like I was looking at "gay hate" art from a homophobe. It's just gives gross feelings all around. It literally had not just a homophobe spewing hate, but the episode itself being homophobic by having the only mlm marraige in the show be a forced one covered in dildos (how nice... /s) and then have the man he's forced to marry be a sex predator that his wife must save him from. Again- how the hell did Vivziepop read her own script and not find this entire premise to be homophobic?! HOW?! Again, look at the contrast, and try to tell me, to my face, that this does "NOT!" feel homophobic to you in any shape or form.

Literally, this entire scene was two gay men who sa'ed this bisexual man, who has a wife, having sex next door and traumatizing the man who has a wife because "HUR DUR MALE PREFERENCE BAAAAED!" while the bisexual man cries about being forced to marry a man while looking at pictures of his wife and crying about how he's going to be forced to marry a "sex predator" gay male stereotype that his "loving wife" will save him from, and oh yeah, the episode is about how the bi man being sa'ed and abused is wrong and how murder is "so terrible to do!" while the writers laugh at him being abused everywhere else and HB is about murder!

Again- read this out loud, and tell me how it makes you feel. Because for me, this felt like one of the the most homophobic things that I have ever summarized- and that's really saying something.

In summary: The creators are hypocrites, have internalized homophobia, and this entire episode honestly should have never existed- it's that bad and contridicts Moxxie's entire arcs with how he's supposed to be "more of a man!" but at the same time "be proud of being feminine except NOT REALLY-" So actually, everything with this show contridicts itself now that I think about it...

Also just to respond to this comment real quick: That's nice and all, until you realize that the entire episode was doing the exact thing you claimed it "wasnt" doing. Also "all gay men" you know what "gay" means? "Gay" means to be attracted to the same sex, it can be used in different contexts, same with how the entire community coined what was once considered as the "gay" flag. As the definition literally reads: "Gay men are male homosexuals. Some bisexual and homoromantic men may also dually identify as gay, and a number of young gay men also identify as queer." so if anything, saying "You're not gay, you're bi!" or "You're not gay, you're pan! You cant call yourself or other people gay, even a fictional character, if they're pan!" unintentionally erases the many people in the world who still say both things to describe themselves. It's the same as how not everyone who's lgbtq+ calls themselves "queer" yet lots of people call us "queer" anyway. So calling the fact that as someone who calls myself "gay", that "YOU'RE QUEERING "WRONG!" YOU CANT CALL A HOMOSEXUAL PERSON "GAY AND CAN ONLY DO THAT IF ITS A MAN WHO JUST LIKES MEN!" is queer gatekeeping as hell. Hell, the episode tried to do this kind of gatekeeping too, which makes no sense, and if they wanted to present this in a way that didnt intentionally erase the fact that a bisexual person can call themself "gay" they could have just had the balls/vag to have Crim call Moxxie a "f^ggot", you know... an actually homophobic term? Because I see what they were trying to do with Crim (like say "Not every homosexual person is the same we have different labels!") but the way it was executed felt more like "Im not gay! Im bisexual!" as in "you cant CALL me gay in any context because im bisexual!" which felt very weird to me as someone who's bi. The episode and how it presents gay/homosexual men in such a fetishized, looked down upon, or dehumanized way doesnt make this any better.

i am not the most versed on every single act of terrorism or hatred that has been waged against women. but am educated on the matter and have first hand experience (not that i have to prove myself to anybody) of it. i come from a tribe of women who had fgm forcefully practiced on them, who had marriage and laws used to keep them in servitude to their husbands (upon which they endured many other abuses that im sure you can imagine), and i myself was a victim of sexual assault and grooming from before i hit double digits till the age of 13. So there is this user on Twitter who I’ve had nothing but good interactions with — I follow them, they follow me. We like a lot of each others stuff and I’d say we were friendly. We didn’t really talk a whole lot in DM but we were pretty friendly with each others account. She had messaged me a few times and once to the topic of the “mean girls” and has even sent me her own like message upon how she felt about Juli.

I’ve never expose any of her messages to the public. Never bashed this person. Never even talked negatively about this person.

I hop on twitter yesterday and I see this tweet

“I don’t agree with either side as they collectively caused problems”… okay… reading that is pretty upsetting to see when I figure me and this person were some what friends. And knowing she sent me things about Juli… would that also be her being part of the problem?

So I’m a bit upset. I’m already in my “I’m calling every hoe out” mode. All I wanna do is post about them being two faced.

I instead go and message her and ask her what that was about as well as unfollowed her.

She messages me back starting off with saying, “If I message you it was in confidence”… okay? Before THIS EXACT POST RIGHT HERE I never posted anything she had sent me. 🤨

On and on, I feel pretty gaslit cause I clearly just read what they posted about me being a problem and rather than being a friend and coming to me… they made a post. No obviously it wasn’t a post solely about me, but I was part of that call out.

She then notices I unfollowed her, and apparently is upset by it, and after my response she blocks me. Okay… whatever. How can you be mad about and unfollow?

Left it alone. Didn’t mention them. They were out of my mind, gone.

I then check twitter later on and see a hate tweet mentioning me.

Religious Hypocrisy at its Finest Had a long ride with a coworker today and we were talking. I try to stay away from politics/religion because I live in the Bible belt and it never ends well. Guy tells me he teaches at his church and after a few other more tame subjects he then asks me "So what do you think about the stuff in Israel." Immediately thought "ahh shit here we go." So I told him "I think the Oct 7th attack was despicable, I think hamas needs destroyed, I also understand that casualties will happen but I don't agree with the widescale bombing and abuse of the civilian population." This guy responds with "Well your not going to like this but i think Israel didnt do a good enough job. They should have glassed the entire area." Then proceeds to follow up with "I mean I feel for those little kids but sometimes you have to send a message not to fuck with you." So then after telling me he thinks almost 800,000 people should be slaughtered he told a long winded story about how he forgave a guy he had a long term grudge with and they ended up becoming the best of friends because it's what Jesus would do. Do you even hear the sick hypocrisy that spews from your disgusting mouth. Even outside of which side you pick in the conflict how can you ever justify the whole sale slaughter of thousands of innocence many of which are children and call your self a Jesus like person. I wish heaven was real so I could watch you get turned away at the gates. I went quite and didn't talk for the 45 minutes it took to get home. social platforms besides goodreads are not here to help reader experience. goodreads is the place to leave reviews for BOOK YOU EITHER PAYED FOR OR THE AUTHOR HAS PROFESSIONALLY PUBLISHED FOR WIDER CONSUMPTION.

i love goodreads too and criticism of books I FIND AT BARNES AND NOBLES😁… because i’m able to avoid things like bad grammar, bad literary skills, poc and queer trauma porn, and other shit i don’t wanna be exposed to.

what i do think is valid, is asking a fic writer to tag properly. i’ve read shit and been blindsided cuz “dead dove” tags weren’t added. i’ve even asked and they’ve made it a point to belittle me. i thought it was a good fic in terms of plot but i wanted to be able to blacklist those words for if they wrote more content. but they completely turned me off due to how they responded so i just never wanted to read more of their work.

i didn’t harass them because frankly it had content i didn’t like (not anything that would make me question their overall morality, unless you count the not tagging, but that’s a bit much). instead i just blocked them and moved on.

there have been times where the grammar in a fic was really bad, the formatting of a fic had huge gaps that made reading difficult, or they didn’t put a cut on their fic. i didn’t contact them, i just blocked them.

so for the love of baby jesus, just block. only when you feel that something DETRIMENTAL is being posted like WHITE SUPREMACIST MANIFESTO or SOCIALLY TABOO type shit is being PROMOTED (they need to actually believe in this shit) in someone’s writing and has built a following of like-minded people, then really the troops so we can deal with it.

but bad grammar or that yandere fics with non-con in is not something to be harassing people over.

(some folks writing language is not their first so they’re learning thru writing or they’re a native speaker who still messes up/has a disability and just because some likes to write/read dark fics doesn’t mean they advocate such acts. plus while it may not be the healthiest, it’s some people’s coping mechanisms and i can’t blame them cuz a good therapist is hard to find and even harder to pay for —at least in the US)

so go read shit you actually like. and if you just so feeeeel it in yo spirit to rate some fics and leave bad reviews download Calibre Library and have at it. it is only seen by you and on your computer. so make that your lil hate diary or whateva🙄

Thus, when my week break came, I wanted to get back up on my feet as a writer and TPAHR became my outlet. This series has always helped me get back on my feet whenever I hit my bottom pit.
