So I was tagged to do a playlist post...

by both @ouroboros-hideout and @chevvy-yates.

One slight problem... I have never, ever organised my music into a playlist, a side effect of my brain being too scattered to organise things that aren't work critical (aka, stuff I'm being paid to be organised for). The rules say:

Put your music on shuffle and list the first 10 songs, then tag 10 people!

Instead, you're getting the last ten songs (that weren't video game OSTs) from my Youtube history. I hope this still meets the criteria.

Danny and Jason are soulmates. The problem? Both of their soul marks are black. Sure, they came back, but not in a typical way, so each thinks the other is dead

So what do we get? Longing. Two guys longing for a love they thought lost to them, thinking tenderly of a future they don't think they could have, even without the added craziness of their lives. Standing on rooftops, smoking in the cold november air, their breath indistinguishable from the smoke, their spent cigarettes flicked off the edge like discount shooting stars, lamenting their fates, probably to each other for the dramatic irony of it all

they both get it. The quiet kind of grief, longing for somebody they never got the chance to know, thinking about how things could have been different, how the should have been different. That understanding is what draws them towards each other

and then? Jason sees Danny's mark, Jason shows his own, they stare at each other, silent for a moment, before arms wrap around the other, lips pressed together, and quiet tears fall like rain to the rooftop beneath their feet

One of the great things about fiber arts (at least to me) is that... you outright own the things you make. It's hard for me to comprehend actually owning something, and that's that. The item you have created doesn't need to come with strings attached (pun intended).

In a world where you are constantly buying things but not owning any of it, truly, it's such an odd experience to actually have ownership of your labour, time, and love like that.

I'm currently working on my fourth batplaylist. I haven't quite got this one all squared away yet (I can't figure out what I want to end the playlist with) but I wanted to share my progress and see if anyone had any ideas for songs. Think JayTim with a vaguely genderfluid Tim.

I'm gonna be raw here for a sec. I just had my last psychophysical physiotherapy appointment for the next six months, and we went over my progress for the last year and what my key challenges and epiphanies have been, and when I left, I realised this was the first time I had stayed present for the entire 2 hours, and suddenly, when I was walking, this song which I hadn't listened to for years, was playing in my head:

I have known this song since middle school, so, 17-ish years, but just now for the first time, I felt that it described my feelings. And this is a huge breakthrough for me. Because I have never before been able to relate to a song where feelings are expressed in such a strong worded way. The moment something is too angsty, too explosive, too crude, too impolite, too explicit, or anything like that, I can't connect to it or see myself in it. But not today. I just vibed with the song in my head, and then went to listen to it, and I actually felt it in my body and emotions, or more like I felt my emotions in my body. Like "I actually have emotions that I can fully experience not just sort of look at and analyse" sort of way.

Not like "I could maybe relate to this song if it was expressed in a more sophisticated way". I just felt the song. I just related to it. I just felt like it was the perfect song for my long since unexpressed frustrations and experiences.

Not that this is suddenly going to become my new normal or anything, I would probably still be exhausted if I experienced the world through angst or such, because it's not my natural way of dealing with things, but this short experience right now felt very empowering to me. 💙
