i really wish more people understood that just because your in a minority group and your comfortable with something that doesn’t mean every single other person in the minority group is also going to be comfortable with that thing.
like, one person of a minority is not the whole Speaker of that Minority™, because minorities (and just in general with all groups of people) are not monolithic and really should not be treated as such

I've seen a few posts here and there saying that Cisco never should have turned down Breacher's job offer in season 4, and some saying that taking that job would be a better outcome for him than working for A.R.G.U.S., and I'm sorry, but I feel like anyone who thinks that has a fundamental misunderstanding of Cisco as a character.
The major difference between A.R.G.U.S. and the collectors' agency is that A.R.G.U.S. had a problem with corruption from the inside, whereas the collectors are bound by unjust laws. By taking Chip Cooper's job (and eventually working his way up to the head of A.R.G.U.S.), Cisco gains the power to be able to make the kind of calls that the people who formerly held his position(s) made the wrong decision on; A.R.G.U.S. has done some shady shit in the past, but it was the people in charge of A.R.G.U.S. who were responsible for it. Now with Cisco holding a position of power there, he's able to prevent any harmful or unethical practices by simply choosing to do the right thing.
As for the collectors, their job is to uphold the law of Earth-19 by hunting down and capturing people who traveled to other earths without authorization, and bringing them back to be executed.
Cisco would hate doing Breacher's job. He would literally hate it. He took direct action to stop one of Breacher's orders from being carried out, risking his own life for it, and he told Cynthia straight up that she should do more with her life and try using her powers to actually be a hero. It would make absolutely no sense for him to leave his job of saving people at S.T.A.R. Labs, to go and work for a government agency that kills people for trying to leave their home earth. And he couldn't infiltrate the agency and change it for the better from the inside, because then he'd just end up—at best—getting fired, because only changing the laws could fix what's wrong with the collectors. The only scenario where Cisco working for the collectors would make sense would be one where he's a rogue agent smuggling his targets to somewhere they'd be safe; figuring out a way to incarcerate the dangerous ones (going through the legal channels of whichever earth they've committed crimes in or maybe keeping them in the Pipeline or Lian Yu if he has no better option), and relocating the non-dangerous ones in a way that prevents the other collectors from finding them, maybe creating fake identities for them. I mean...he'd have to become Echo.

you're gonna love people who won't love you back
you're gonna be loved by people you feel nothing to
you can wallow for a bit but ultimately, you should just accept that in most cases it's inevitable
you just have to roll with it
just be understanding and kind please

I've been doing this thing where I smoke weed, outside on the front porch, purposely without my phone
it's my touch grass time and it's been a great daily routine

Being stranded at a gas station because my car key was stuck in the door lock felt very novel. Every resource online that talked about this specific issue either assumed it was actually stuck in the ignition or that it was an issue with lubrication. It didn't quite feel right at that moment, but I was willing to give it a try, and went and grabbed a thing of wd40 and sprayed it in the lock best I could.
I wasn't making any progress, but I noticed this little black cover on the side of the door that looked like it would give me a better angle, maybe I could spray it on top and have the wd40 seep into the tumblers, maybe that would work (turns out, no, the top is designed in such a way that that isn't possible, maybe to keep water from getting into the lock?)
Then I had the thought that I could probably get the lock mechanism out if I loosened this screw that seemed to be holding it in place. There were a few issues, the screw was a philips, I didn't have an actual screwdriver, the things I normally use to improvise wouldn't reach, and I was also pretty concerned about stripping it. Tried calling some friends and family, nothing, it was well after midnight, so that was to be expected.
I saw someone I see around at work, they seem friendly enough, so maybe if I had asked them if they happened to have a screwdriver I could use real quick, I probably would have gotten home much quicker had I done that. Instead, I waited for 2 hours, occasionally trying to jiggle the key out until my roommate went on lunch and was able to bring me one. Got my key out in no time.
I fucking hate cars.

Peter Pan
Tumblr media
The thing I love the most about Peter Pan is how realistic it is to have their choice of clothing for a grand adventure to be their bed time clothes.
Like... Seriously.
You live in the real world and you're suddenly brought to a fantasy land.
If I were to get isekai'd, I doubt I would have the choice of timing.
Pretty hardcore for them to go adventuring literally traveling light, too.
I don't know where I was going with this...
Tumblr media
Anyway, I guess it was that it's pretty cool of them to make the most of the situation with their night gowns and/or onesies.

Something I find comforting to know that others do as well as myself, is write a completely varied amount of words on a page at a time.
One day you could write half a sentence, and another week later you could have gotten 3 chapters into your plot. Maybe you wrote another half a sentence, or perhaps you deleted it and tried another way to phrase what you were trying to bring to life.
The point stands that you are a writer, because you can see it in your head. You can imagine what’s going to happen, and if you can’t then that doesn’t make you less of a writer. It means you’re different. You’re you.
And everyone is them in their own way.
So don’t quit.

Most underrated part of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie is when Deadpool mentions that his girlfriend left him, and Wolverine's first response was to say, "You had a girlfriend???" because he genuinely can not fathom that this man is into women

I was walking alone in the woods at my grandpas house earlier today, reminiscing about all the fun things my cousins and I would get up to together in those woods, when I remembered one of our favorite old games. We called it ‘Powers’. (it’s exactly what it sounds like, everyone picks 2-3 powers of their choice and the rest of their pretend character is up to them, it’s a lot more exciting than it sounds)
It was a fun game and I won’t go into detail about every little thing we thought of, that’s not the point of this- what really struck me so deeply was the fact that none of us kids pretended to be heroes- we never imagined ourselves in a sprawling city with paparazzi chasing us trying to get our autographs.
We imagined ourselves as kids who had no idea what to do with their abilities, kids who were terrified of hurting their friends and family, who just wanted to fit in with people who had powers like them- and with people who didn’t.
There weren’t exactly villains either, rivalries sure, siblings fought over who was stronger or who had the better powers. Friends put against each other when one accidentally hurt the other and their trust in each other was shattered (all in pretend, of course.). But the only villains I could remember, were the misguided ones, the lost child turned villain because they had to pick a side, “Which friend should I protect? Who’s at fault here? Who do I care about more?”, none of us chose to be villains in that game.
In the end we were all kids who decided they all had tragic backstories, broken kids in need of friends- of home and affection. Kids with powers suddenly thrust upon them (sometimes we’d touch a magic rock and BOOM we’d have powers) that they had no idea what to do with or how to handle and for our young minds, that was a terrifying concept. I think about that game a lot now.
I had a point to this..
I had a point.
