I have a tentative headcanon that Skie, for all that she might be naive and sheltered, perhaps teaches Bhaalspawn how to dance like a noble lady, maybe also teaches her and Imoen how to do their hair in fancy styles. As far as anyone knows, Skie's never had any sisters so what if she found some degree of it among Bhaalspawn's crew with them, Imoen, and Neera since they all seem to be around the same age. Skie is the friend who knows all about fashion and makeup and yeah, her complaining about her clothes or hair getting messed up while adventuring can get old but that hardly makes her a bad person. Also I just really like the idea of the younger girls in the party becoming pretty close friends, especially since for me it will provide more weight to when things happen to them in-game.

Obey me headcanons but a crossover with MLP????
(Also to make up for the angst I posted a few days ago)
I've been rewatching, again, and I feel like there are some things I didn't cover for some reason, but whatever
There are like many species across equestria and Lord Diavolo would love meeting all of them, just so see how they rule and such
In a certain episode, ember (leader of dragons) and thorax (new leader of changelings) talk about the issues they have with ruling, can you imagine how much Dia would've loved to give them both advice and just air out his issues too? I just love that thought
Mammon being all ballsy and fucking around with dragons only to be bullied by the equivalent of a dragon teenager is something I CANT get out of my head
Beel bonding with the changelings cause they're bug brothers<33
In an episode, the main six ruin the "grand galloping gala", which is a really big thing, and they're like "well I hope princess Celestia isn't mad at us" and Princess Celestia comes and is like "That was the best thing ever!!!" And they're like, "That gala was horrible though" and she's like "Oh Twilight, the gala is horrible every year!! I invited you guys because I thought you could spice things up, and you did!" And if that doesn't give off Diavolo energy, I don't know what does
I've also seen people ponifying the characters, AND I LOVE THAT??
Here's my take on what type of pony everyone would be (just what screams out to me)
Lord Diavolo would be an alicorn a thousand percent, hair wavy-ness and all
Barbatos is a unicorn, specifically with a curved horn and the tail with the tuft of fur at the end (no idea what it's called)
Lucifer would be an alicorn too but he'd have a broken horn (kinda like Tempest from the movie), but he'd use a prosthetic to make it look normal and it basically is at this point, but if you want to save the alicorn thing, he'd be a unicorn that can make a set of wings for himself
Mammon is a pegasus (maybe a batpony, maybe a griffon but that's pushing it), definitely hides in the clouds when Lucifer is chasing him and likes to make it rain on his non Pegasus brothers
Levi is a unicorn that can transform into a merpony, he's his own Henry 2.0
Satan is a unicorn as well but often times his horn is charred at the end because he overuses his magic in anger, also has the tail tuft type of tail (or a kirin if we're crossing species)
Asmo is another unicorn, his horn is curved (something he is a bit insecure about), his hooves, snout, and horn all fade to like a light shade of pink (perhaaaps a changeling cause, idk, that's cool)
Beel is an earthpony, he's like BUFF, Big Macintosh typa buff, the day he learns to buck tress for fruit is the day there will be absolutely no more fruit, he also has a white underbelly that comes all the way to his snout
Belphie is an earthpony, and has the same white underbelly Beel has, is also the tail tufty typa guy
Solomon definitely is a unicorn, during big spells his hair does the Flowy thing too, his horn is curved and is white tipped, as well as his hooves
Simeon is a Pegasus, he's not the strongest flier though, he also does the wing hug thing with Luke
Luke is also a Pegasus and can't fly all too well, kinda like Scootalo but he can get himself off the ground for an extended period of time
Raphael is an unicorn, but he might as well be a Pegasus with how much he uses the magic wing spell
Mephisto is a unicorn with that curved horn, his hooves fade to black because he's cool like that
Thirteen is an earthpony , this, in no way, impedes her from making big complex traps
Satan would stab other people with his horn, full on head butting people for fun, it was all fun and games until he head butted Lucifer and Lucifer couldn't fly straight for a bit (he's sorry not sorry)
Diavolo also has more of an earthpony physique while Barbatos and Lucifer have the princess body type, not fully Celestia but Luna/Cadence
Beel has often been compared to a Parasprite because of their endless appetites
(Relating to the one above) Satan once accidentally shot a spell at Beel, and Beel coughed up a tiny version of himself, all the brothers proceeded to have a panic attack
Anyway, that's it!!!!

checked one of these two boxes? never fear, this post is for you!
below the cut is an extensive recap of not only lupin himself, but the context he's set against and the other major characters introduced throughout the franchise. I don't imagine this will answer every single question, and I'm always more than happy to expand on this over on discord or something, but this is an easy peasy starting point to link to
so, let's get started!
Tumblr media
Who are the Lupin family?
The first notable Lupin was Arsène Lupin, phantom thief of France. He operated mostly within the Paris area until his reputation spread, at which point he began to become more of a worldwide thief. During his active years he kept a journal, in which he documented his heists and what treasure was stolen. This is passed down from generation to generation, and is currently in the possession of Lupin III. During this time he also wrote a Thieves' Rulebook, which has since been stolen by Lupin III⁶.
As he aged, Arsène's health began to decline, and he turned his attention from stealing treasures to stealing organs, most often hearts to replace his own failing one. He retired to his Paris mansion and spent his days laying in his bedside, surrounded by beautiful women who he often abused and his personal surgical team. He collected his victims through a variety of ways, most commonly dubiously-legal trick contracts he'd have them sign under false pretenses, usually pertaining to money or the inheritance of his grand estate. Arsène even tried this trick on his own grandson¹, but he saw through it and used a similar trick ink to void his signature.
Arsène was also personally responsible for training both his son and grandson in the ways of master thievery, and started passing down his skillset as soon as the children were able to comprehend instructions. Lupin III, Arsène's grandson, claimed that he'd been getting trained as a thief for longer than he could remember, and had started his training long before he'd learned to write his own name². Arsène generally considered his son, Lupin II, to be a failure and disappointment to the family, and the two did not like each other. This is potentially why they lived on separate sides of the globe, with Lupin II choosing to build his home in Tokyo instead of Paris.
Arsène is dead.
After Arsène came Lupin II, who was successful in his own right but is often overshadowed by the grander feats of his father and son. He removed his son, Lupin III, from Arséne's mentorship and encouraged him to walk the straight and narrow, away from a life of thievery². He left young Lupin III to attend school within Japan and live in his Tokyo mansion with his housekeeper and lover, Shinobu, while he continued his worldwide thefts and building of the Lupin Empire. A more headcanon-heavy take on that particular endeavour can be found here. This left little opportunity for family bonding, and while Lupin III did love his father, it's hard to feel especially close to him when he missed out on just about every dramatic life event a child can have.
Like all Lupins, he was a notorious womaniser and loved the ladies' attention, but he was considerably kinder than Arsène was. He was the first gentleman thief of the family, and he taught his son the importance of gentlemanly behaviour and never ignoring a woman in trouble. It's a lesson his son took to heart.
Lupin II is dead.
And finally, Lupin III. He left home and struck out on his own as an early teenager, accompanied by his Walther and his best friend Jigen³ (more on him later). Since then, Lupin III has made a name for himself as the world's best and most wanted thief, and it's his personal goal to not only live up to his grandfather's legacy, but surpass it. To this end, he likes to target items that Arsène documented himself as being unable to steal, such as the Bresson Diary⁴ or the Louvre's Mona Lisa painting⁵. He despised who his grandfather became, so tends to lean into the mythologised idea of 'the phantom thief of France', rather than connect those legends with the unpleasant old man he remembers.
Like the two generations before him, Lupin travels all over the world to steal whatever he's set his sights on, and will infiltrate cults, gangs, government buildings and billionare's homes alike. Nowhere is safe from him.
So that's his backstory. But who is Lupin III?
" I've heard about him. With a Walther in one hand, he's a diabolical thief who never misses his mark. ... We can't run from Lupin III. "¹¹
As said above, Lupin III is recognised as both the best and the most wanted thief in the world. He's so notorious that he's collected his own fair share of copycats and imitators, though Inspector Zenigata is adept at separating these crimes from those of the real Lupin.
Though Lupin acts silly and lighthearted most of the time, this is a performance he uses to hide his incredible intelligence and vast array of skills. He has shown himself to excel in many areas, including the piloting of any and all possible vehicles, chemistry and gas creation, and general gadget invention. He hides miniature explosives²⁶, smoke bombs, and various tools³³ all over his body, including in a fake tooth and in a hairpiece he wears over his real hair. He can also slip things into or out of the pockets of those he passes, even when given only a split second to do so without detection.
Perhaps most confusing about Lupin's mind is his inability to dream, instead seeing nothing but a void. This was once described as the conscious of an idiot or a god³².
More than anything, Lupin hates the feeling of boredom. His skill is so exceptional that simply stealing things isn't thrilling enough: he needs to find ways to make it more difficult for himself. This is why he cherishes his rivalries with Fujiko and Zenigata - both push him to do his best and create plans to circumvent the both of them, and they add the much-needed thrill to his game. That's how he's come to see his thieving career: as a game.
And much like every good game, he needs players. That's where the Lupin gang come in.
What is 'the Lupin gang', and who's in it?
The Lupin gang is the colloquial name given to Lupin and his friends, the "approved players" he's collected and allowed to become a permanent part of his life. The exact number of people involved in each heist varies, but it can be assumed that all of them have ways of contacting each other should things ever go seriously wrong. Lupin is protective (some might say possessive) over them, and will kill anyone who threatens or attempts to take their lives.
The known friends are as follows:
Daisuke Jigen. Lupin's best friend and closest partner. Though the two of them do do occasional solo work, it's more often safe to assume that if you can find one, the other won't be far behind. He's been shown to have been taught several of the Lupin family skills, including flawless disguise and voice mimicry⁸, and is so close to Lupin that he's been mistaken for his lover⁹. He knows just about everything there is to know about Lupin.
Outside of this, Jigen is considered to be the single best marksman in the world, and is capable of hitting a penny from a hundred meters away¹⁶. In fact, it was his gun skills that caught Lupin's attention in the first place, back when they were attending the same school².
Goemon Ishikawa XIII. A samurai wielding the legendary sword Zantetsuken, capable of cutting through anything. They met when Goemon attempted to kill him²⁰ and later ended up slicing his car cleanly in half²¹, and Lupin has considered him part of the gang ever since.
However, Goemon has the least patience for Lupin's tricks or deception, and is always the first to reject a job and leave if he doesn't like its end goal (usually something to do with impressing a woman). He also devotes a lot of his time to his solo training, travelling to a remote area and honing his skills there until he feels ready to return.
Fujiko Mine. An exceptionally beautiful seductress, spy, and thief. Lupin is head over heels for her and will do anything she asks of him, usually in return for something like a kiss. Fujiko often betrays him once he's finished being useful to her current plan, leaving with the treasure and letting Lupin find his own way out of whatever situation he's gotten himself in. Her betrayals are forgiven by Lupin every time - he's even said they're something he looks forward to²⁷ - but the others (most notably Jigen) don't trust her and will become frustrated by Lupin's infatuation. This has no effect on Lupin, however, who was the one to initiate this rivalry between them²⁸ and has, on occasion, been able to preempt her double crossing²⁹ and outsmart her in the process³⁰.
Fujiko once said that the two were once lovers, though she left him¹⁹, and the same thing happened during their later relationship³¹. I interpret this second relationship as a marriage given the imagery surrounding it throughout Part 5, but canon is once again unclear on this and I'm keeping it deliberately flexible.
Koichi Zenigata. Though he's not an official part of Lupin's affiliates, being on the opposing side of the law to them, he's someone Lupin has come to care about deeply and still considers part of his group regardless. The two of them have such a close relationship that Zenigata has been mistaken as Lupin's boyfriend by both Rebecca²² and Ami²³, and he once declared his intention to arrest Lupin's heart²⁴.
He is devoted to arresting Lupin, and becomes very depressed whenever he's removed from the Lupin case or believes Lupin to be dead²⁵.
Any other important people we should know about?
Rebecca Rossellini. An Italian heiress most known for her acting career. They first met when he saved her life from an overzealous fan threatening to bomb the train she was trapped on⁷, and Lupin proposed marriage not long afterwards. Though their marriage was later revealed not to have any legal binding¹⁷, he allowed her to keep his last name and use it if she wished. She remained in Italy when he left.
Despite being the one to propose the initial wedding, he has no romantic / sexual feelings towards her.
Laetitia Bresson. The granddaughter of famous archeologist, Professor Bresson, and co-protagonist of Lupin III: The First. Her grandfather worked alongside the original Arsène Lupin to design the Bresson Diary's complex lock, something that required both Lupin III and Laetitia to eventually open. Though he initially found himself distrusting and clashing against her, Lupin soon warmed to her and worked alongside her to find and stop the ancient weaponknown as the Eclipse.
Despite wanting to go with Lupin and asking if he would take her along, he promised to reunite them in five years and encouraged her to attend Boston University⁴.
Clarisse de Cagliostro. The young ruler of the Grand Duchy of Cagliostro, and someone he met early on in his thieving career. They reunited ten years later during The Castle of Cagliostro, where Lupin aimed to rescue her from her forced wedding and reveal the truth behind the estate's lost treasure. Though she fell in love with him and wanted to come along on future travels, Lupin rejected her and insisted she stay behind in the light, rather than become "dirty" like him¹⁹.
However, he knows that she is willing to shelter him in Cagliostro should he ever need to fly under the radar, and he is similarly willing to aid her with any issue she may face in the future.
Ami Enan. An incredibly talented hacker, and someone Lupin enlisted the help of in order to rob Dark Web giant Marco Polo of their money¹⁰. After helping her to explore and trust the outside world, he encouraged her to apply to boarding school and live a more normal life. He has since cut ties to ensure her safety and to discourage any further criminal involvement.
Albert d'Andrésy. Someone who was once a potential rival to Lupin and received thief training from Arsène after Lupin III's move to Japan¹. Despite this, Lupin considers himself far above Albert's level and holds nothing but distaste for him.
Goro Yatagarasu / Yata. Zenigata's assistant, who dutifully follows him everywhere the Lupin chase leads. He doesn't always understand the complexities of Lupin's game and Zenigata's responses to it.
For OCs and specific canon portrayals of the above muses, please check my connections page! This section only details the canon connections for the benefit of those unfamiliar with the source material, and thus won't provide a holistic view of my Lupin and his extensive web of relationships.
How did they all meet?
Canon is mixed on this one, and each writer has their own preferred takes. While I, for example, tend to default to Lupin Zero canon for Lupin and Jigen (because it's cute), this is deliberately kept flexible and open to change depending on whose Jigen I'm writing with. Same goes for the others, too.
Basically: don't worry about it unless you intend to (or already do) write one of the above muses. All that matters is that they met.
What's the public's perception of Lupin? What does the layman know?
Again, canon is a little confused on this.
Sometimes Lupin is able to use the Clark Kent disguise of a pair of glasses and get away with it¹¹, implying that he is really living up to the "phantom thief" title and can't be casually recognised by face alone. Sometimes he doesn't even need to hide his appearance, people just don't know who he is until he's introduced¹². Other times, he's shown to have legions of fans¹³ and scrapbooks of his every newspaper appearance¹⁴ and claw machine plushie merchandise¹⁵, displaying his face all over the place. Whether or not your muse can recognise his appearance, I leave up to you.
However, what does remain consistent is that Lupin is more loved than he is feared, a successful charmer with the ladies and somewhat of a celebrity (though Lupin himself hates being referred to as such).
What's law enforcement's perception of Lupin? Is there any difference in what the regional police know, versus interpol?
The Lupin case is highly classified, with Zenigata being its lead and the one with control over which details are shared. Regional police have a bigger tendency to disregard Lupin as a threat and insist that their surveillance alone will be enough to stop him, while interpol take him more seriously and have a better understanding of what he's capable of. Both sides lack an understanding of the nuances of Lupin's game, as well as the unspoken rules both he and Zenigata follow during their chase.
What's Inspector Zenigata's perception of Lupin? What does he know?
Zenigata's knowledge rivals even Jigen's. He knows the scent of Lupin's preferred cologne, his cars and their license plates (not that that's too difficult to remember: it's 03LPN33¹⁷), his common escape patterns, his handwriting and the type of cardstock used for all genuine calling cards, and is most adept at recognising his disguises. He is the only member of law enforcement who stands a real chance at arresting Lupin, and has made it his life purpose.
A lot of this knowledge is thanks to his many tireless years on Lupin's tail, slowly learning all of the thief's tricks and self-imposed rules, but Zenigata is also a genius inspector. He can catch any criminal who's not Lupin, and has even caught and imprisoned Lupin many times, stating over one hundred captures¹⁸. Unfortunately for Zenigata, Lupin has proven himself just too good at breaking out, and has never managed to contain him in a prison he couldn't eventually find his way out of.
What Zenigata wants most is for Lupin to serve his time in prison and pay back his debt to society. Lupin, of course, knows this, and has exploited that desire to manipulate Zenigata's emotions, such as getting him to cry so he'll walk away from Lupin's prison cell and give him an opportunity to escape²⁶.
What's the underworld's perception of Lupin?
The underworld's perception of Lupin isn't the most positive thing, given that he's often turned his skills against his fellow criminals and menaced gangs, organised syndicates, and people he generally considers to be "worse" than him. His skills are undoubtedly impressive and a source of reluctant admiration, and thus many within this circle seek to deceive or exploit Lupin's talent for their own gains. This plan rarely works in their favour, however.
Some people instead want Lupin dead, and have attempted this in a variety of ways. Sending hitmen simply won't work, not as long as he has Jigen and Goemon by his side, and so the craftier among them have learned that it's much more effective to turn his own people against him. As was once said: They are the best players in the world. It's nearly impossible to kill them. The only one who can kill Lupin is Jigen.¹⁶
When is Lupin III set?
Lupin and co. are frozen in time, and been shown in various eras throughout the franchise (with the most modern being Part 5, with its cryptocurrencies and BitMoney). For this reason, I generally find it easier to set him in the default era of whoever I'm writing with, or just assume it's "modern day". The time period doesn't really impact how I'd portray Lupin, so it's not massively important.
However, Lupin as a character was born somewhere around the late thirties / early forties, and this is reflected in certain possessions his character owns. For example, his favoured gun is a Walther P38, something that was only produced from 1939-45 and is definitely considered outdated by today's standards. Lupin Zero shows that this gun originally belonged to his father, Lupin II, and was given away as a parting gift once he set off on his own³.

If ur still doing character headcanons Picky?
i like picky a whole lot. i feel like his role in earthbound, though small, is crucial. like. we see not only that porky has a little brother he cares about (at least a little bit!!!), but also - despite enduring the same abuse that porky does, picky's just a regular kid!! a good kid, even!! he's not acting out, he's not brimming over with spite, he's sure as hell not consorting with alien embodiments of all things evil. this hilariously average little dude is living proof that porky didn't have to turn out the way he did. but he ends up a tragically unfortunate casualty in his brother's time-traveling crusade. porky left picky to grow up alone in a troubled household. whatever familial bond they had, porky apparently saw it as expendable, caught up in the thrill of his rise to power. adding insult to injury, aloysius is implied to have moved out n' gotten divorced, too. postgame picky probably feels all kinds of abandoned. the people who left him did treat him terribly, so maybe he really is better off without 'em. there's still gotta be an awful sense of loss there, though. maybe a huge blow to his self-worth, too.
the way he's gotta deliver porky's letter to ness at the end of the game, and wonders when his brother's coming back…. i feel so bad for the poor kid :( the only decent human being in his family, powerless to redeem or even hold together this wretched pack of goons. i like to imagine at least he's on good terms with ness' family. close friends with tracy, spends a lot of time next door. might latch onto ness a little while coping with porky's absence. ness' mom's got half a mind to adopt him, like a needy cat your neighbor leaves outside all the time.
anyways. here's a drawing of teenage picky (as seen in intermission) and canon picky:

Do you have any headcanons about Zephyr de Chateaupers in the Descendants universe?
// You know, I didn’t, but then I thought about it, and here’s what I came up with.
He’s very intrigued by/curious about Claudine. I don’t think he knows very much about the whole Frollo situation—I can’t see Esmeralda talking about it with anyone except maybe Phoebus/a good therapist, but I could see Zephyr as the type to eavesdrop LOL so he might know more than they think.
I could see him as either being a typical rambunctious, mischievous kid—I can’t remember the age difference between them or if they’d be the same age LOL—or as a quieter, more serious kid, like I’d imagine Phoebus was as a kid. Very loyal and kind, either way, and still close to Quasi (and Madeleine, bc despite how I feel about that film, I really like her as a character, and loved the film when it came out, the animation just wasn’t as good as the first one.)
The other thoughts I had:
if he’s younger than Claudine, and mischievous like he is in the sequel—from what I recall, it’s been a while since I watched—I honestly think they would just stress each other out. She’d keep expecting him to get in trouble for typical kid behavior/misbehavior, and he wouldn’t understand why she’s a nagging killjoy. I think eventually someone—Esmeralda or Quasi, probably,—would explain the situation to him in an age appropriate way and he’d start to try to help Deenie relax a bit. I think ultimately they’d end up as cute semi siblings.
if he’s the same age as she is, she’s just gonna be an awkward mess around him, and they’d probably also stress each other out but for different reasons. Like I think if he’s a typical moody teenager, he wouldn’t get why she isn’t, and he might resent all the attention she gets. He might if he’s younger too, come to think of it.
if his personality is more on the quiet/introspective side, I could see them bonding over, idk, literature or crafts or something—once Deenie got over her hangups around him liking to do “womanly” things—and maybe they get to a place where they stick up for each other if they’re bullied at school.

#2, 17, 13 for Carla or Tohru please?
Sorry it took so long to finish this, but...
How about both? Both is good.
Carla Delgado:
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)
I want to say it started with "Realm of the Jaquins" and then the move into season two as we started to get more of her character and I had more to explore and work with in the fics I was starting to create.
My partner says I have a type when it comes to female characters and it's pretty much, "pretty girls who are lonely/suffering" (the level of suffering varies) and Carla fits that type.
13. Your favorite friendship they have
So, she doesn't really have any friendships in canon. Not developed ones, anyway. I like to imagine that she becomes better friends with Elena and Co. Though isn't quite a part of their group.
In my Mirror World AU, I really liked developing the friendship she has with Mirror!Isabel Where she takes what Elena has taught her and is able to reach out to someone else and also forms a genuine bond with her.
I also enjoyed exploring the AU friendship between her and Elena before she became the group's fifth wheel. What I liked about this one is just exploring how Elena and Carla give each other a legitimate chance and end up becoming close friends. It's something Carla really needed in canon. A friend her own age that she could just be a teenage girl with.
17. What do you think their first word was?
100% her first word was "Papa." That's a headcanon I have had since the beginning and I'm sticking to it.
Tohru Honda:
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)
I honestly don't remember. I first read the manga and watched the 2001 anime when I was around 13-14 years old. All I remember is not thinking much at the beginning.
I now know that's because I was young and didn't quite grasp the complexities of the story. It's only when I came back to the series as an adult that I finally understood the whole of Tohru's character arc and now I really love and appreciate her character (though my favourite is still Akito *shrug*).
13. Your favorite friendship they have
Ugh. So many to pick from...
She means so much to everyone in that inner Sohma circle (including my OC), but if I had to pick, it would have to be a tie between Kisa and Isuzu. I'm a sucker for good girl friendships (see: Rose and Lovella (Back to Titanic)).
I love how Tohru brought Kisa out of her shell and how the latter remains close to her throughout the series and -- I like to think -- beyond canon. They have a sweet, sister-like dynamic and I am always here for it.
Watching her and Isuzu build a bond was equally beautiful, but in a different way. Seeing Tohru not give up even when being pushed away again and again (because Rin didn't want her to get hurt) and Isuzu finally giving in and opening up to her and later continuing to watch out for and worry about her was everything. I love these two so much.
17. What do you think their first word was?
So... I'm sorry, but, I don't actually have an answer for this one. I'm not familiar enough with Japanese language to know what typical first words are for babies over there.

ROTTMNT Theory
I spent a few hours researching this.....
Where the turtles might have been from based on their species (and the information I’ve conveniently forgotten about)
Leo: Red-eared slider, comes from Hamilton Lake, Hardin Precinct, Illinois, USA (at first i thought he could come from Kintown Hollow RD.... i did not know RD meant road lmao) (HE’S AN INVASIVE SPECIES, SO IN CHARACTER IDK Y)
Raph: Alligator Snapping turtle, comes from Godar Swamp, Calhoun County, Illinois, USA (close to both Illinois River and Hamilton Lake, while simultaneously having a gap big enough so that both species of turtles don’t meet each other)
Donnie: Spiny Softshell turtle (Apalone), comes from Lac Trois-Lacs, Asbestos, Québec, CA (Asbestos is now known under the name of Val-Des-Sources) (A while back i read something about Apalone turtles (endegered species) living there, apparently not anymore, but i would assume that 14-15 years ago, some Spiny Softshell turtle would still live around there)
Mikey: Ornate Turtle, come from Tazewell County, Illinois, USA (close to the river, there’s like, a forest, idk how it’s called) (I did make more research about other types of box turtles, i will share two of them cuz i found it funny; had he been a Three-Toed Box turtle, he would’ve came from Grassy Pond, Géorgie, USA, just north of the Florida Panhandle) (had he been a Yucatán box turtle, he would have came from the Reserva de la Biosfera Ría Celestún, Yucatán, MX.) (Box turtles are known to have reproduced with their cousins box turtles, so Mikey could have been a mix of Three-Toed and Yucatán Box turtles, as the Yucatán Box Turtle seem to have similar markings as mikey but are too pale in comparison with him) (do go look at Grassy Pond on google maps, there’s one dude’s photos whom are both hilarious and nightmare fuel)
Development (and added details)
WHICH MEANS, Leo, Raph and Mikey were shipped together, while Donnie was shipped alone to Draxum (i just imagine little turtles in like, Amazon boxes being dropkicked in a random place for Draxum to get them-), BUT each turtle could’ve come from a breeder, but i feel like the person taking care of them would live close to one of their natural habitat. For example, Leo, Raph and Mikey’s breeder would live in Henry (Illinois, USA) which is both close and far from their original spot and Donnie’s breeder would live in Saint-Hyacinthe (Québec, CA) (For three-toed Mikey’s breeder, they would live in Navarre, Florida, USA and for Yucatán Mikey, they would live in Yaxché de Peón, Yucatán, MX) OR MAYBE draxum walked all the way to their natural habitat and stole some babies???
Guys, gals and beach balls, I also made some more research about spiny softshell turtles, they do also live in Illinois.... I think the teenage mutant ninja turtles are illinoisan oh nooooo, i mean, i will keep the headcanon of Asbestos cuz idk, i like that there’s different places, but yes, actually there’s a lot of spiny softshell turtles living in Illinois.
What about the twinsies??
Now now, Donnie and Leo do seem to be twins in ROTTMNT, and what better way to bond than knowing each other since birth. I mean, red-eared sliders are an invasive species (as mentioned earlier) so it is very likely that some can be found in the same perimeter as Donnie, so yeah, their breeder could be the same person. There was some sightings of red-eared sliders in southern Ontario, according to google maps, the itinerary from Saint-Hyacinthe to southern Ontario is like, six hours, which is honestly not bad. With some more research, the Otonabee River (Peterborough County, Ontario, CA) doesn’t seem like that bad of a place, though might be a bit cold for a red-eared slider.
btw this is just research i made randomly, my sources are literally google maps and wikipedia, idk how reliable that is-

Shipper tag game
Tagged by @sunriseverse thank you!💜
What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don’t care about anymore?
I didn't know the concept of shipping was a thing until I was 29 and stumbled onto fandom on tumblr, (didn't know about fandom either until then), so I'm trying to think of any couples I would have considered cute in anything I watched/read growing up... and I really dont know?? Joshua Jackson was a fave actor from back then and I can't even remember if I had an opinion on the Dawson/Joey vs Pacey/Joey debate on Dawson's Creek. I was always more interested in the story than the ships! (Can you tell I'm on the aroace side of life? Lol)
Which ship would you consider your first one?
Captain America is what lead me to finding fandom in the first place so Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes is the first that comes to mind. But before that I was very into Dr Who, so I'd probably consider The Doctor/Rose Tyler the first fictional couple I had any emotional investment in.
Your first fanfic was about which couple?
My first shippy fanfic (written before I knew what "fanfic" was) was James Bond/William Brandt Skyfall/Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol crossover.
You know the scene in Skyfall when Silva has Bond tied to a chair and starts toying with his chest and teases him about this not being in his training and Bond replies "What makes you think this is my first time?"? And then in Ghost Protocol when Jeremy Renner's character pulls himself out of the vent at the last second and gripes "Next time I get to seduce the rich guy."? I joked to my best friend that "Now we know what James Bond's first time was." And that's how that idea was born.
I started writing it as a joke for my friend but never finished it, and if I find the notebook it was written into I might just revisit it because I still quite like the idea!
Do you remember the first couple you saw fanart of?
Not for certain, but possibly either Dean/Cas or Rose/Ten.
Have you ever gotten into ship discourse?
Like ship wars or 'problematic' kind of discourse? If I did it would have been in my Captain America days (Stucky vs Stony and Peggy vs Sharon being heated topics of memory), and even then I don't remember specific incidents - as a newbie to fandom I tended to lurk and watch instead of engaging. Now I'm very much Ship And Let Ship (and only bitch in private to your mates, not in public!)
Did you use to have any NOTP or have one currently?
There have been plenty of ships I've come across that weren't my thing, Stony for example, but I'm not going to invest enough energy into recalling any others. I'm not here to spread hate on something other people like.
Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?
On tumblr? Li Lianhua/Di Feisheng (Mysterious Lotus Casebook)
On Ao3? Ming Lou/Ming Cheng (The Disguiser)
Currently, do you have any OTPs?
So many. Zhang Rishan/Ba Ye, Hei Xiazi/Xiao Hua, Steve/Bucky, Steve/Peggy, Data/Geordi, Stiles/Derek, Jiang Cheng/Nie Huaisang, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan, and likely more that havent come to mind yet
Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?
Haha no. I think I've always just accepted canon couples as "the thing that happened in the story", and now when I have my own ship preferences, then I accept that it's *my* headcanon and not necessarily anyone else's (especially not the writer's headcanon).
When Captain America Civil War came out I realised I'd gotten WAY over invested in what was or wasn't included in the movie (although I knew realistically they weren't going to make Stucky canon ) that I took a big step back afterwards and very much made a mental separation between "this is the story those writers want to tell" and "this is the story I like to imagine".
Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?
Dean/Cas maybe? It wasn't so much that I disliked them but that I didn't read them as a romantic relationship for most of the time I've known the ship existed (I'd always read Cas as ace). It's only been since the show ended that I think my idea of what makes a ship had widened to more than just "stereotypically romantic" which recalibrated how I saw them.
Do you have any ship that, in the past, would’ve been considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?
Incestuous (Thor/Loki, et al,)? Teacher/Student(I blame ABBA)? Torturer/Torture subject (Hydra Trash Party)?
What is your favorite crack ship?
I will certainly have come across crack ships that appealed to me, but honestly if the writer/artist sells it well enough then I stop thinking of them as crack ships and instead think of them as rare pairs.
What is the couple you read the most fanfics about?
Currently? HeiHua. Overall? Stucky.
What do most of your ships usually have in common?
Someone to be vulnerable around, someone who understands you better than anyone else, "you're not alone anymore"
What do you absolutely hate in a ship?
If I don't like a ship it's probably more to do with a singular character I don't like than the couple itself.
Tagging @gaiahenshin @fangdoubing @epicwalrus @tazzy-ace and anyone else who wants to!

hi ghost, how are you?? 💐
i know you said not to get our hopes up for a dive sequel, but as an alternative, would you consider writing headcanons here on tumblr? things like what minayeon/dahmo/sahyo do after their kids have grown up, minayeon discussing having a second kid, what each could does after a fight, etc. i love the idea of small discussions in the form of headcanons ngl
also minor brain rot, i’ve been thinking about the dive kids for a few days now and these are my thoughts/questions :) i love when writers expand more on their work involving other characters, so haha here it is:
1) i could totally see sakura hanging around haruto a lot because she views him as “the brother she never had” 🥺
2) i know this probably might (or not) show up in the ending chapters, but i would love to see how sullyoon tries to bond with sakura and haewon. example, does she find sakura intimidating? is she more comfortable around haewon? and also in their teenage years, would she ever feel slightly insecure that she didn’t grow up with them straight from birth?
3) what do you think the kids love languages are? and how would they like to be loved? by that i mean, since sayho are pretty big on grand gestures, would their kids grow up to expect that from their future partners?
4) eunchae going through a goth phase… i can already imagine her blasting Slipknot when dahmo are out the house and her sisters being done with her (for some reason i could also see her talking about this with jisung, probably because he learns to be very open minded from chae)
hi friend!! i am doing well, how are you??
that wouldn't be such a bad idea, i'll have to see but i may be open to it if i have the time! it'll definitely make me wanna write more about them too haha
your brainrot is always welcome here 💗💗
1 - she definitely does! she was secretly hoping her third sibling was a boy but haruto will most certainly serve as a brother she never had, that being said mako idolizes sakura so much, she sometimes gets jealous of how close sakura/eunchae are and tries to do everything her oldest sister does like soccer, basketball etc, and sakura sadly doesn't always realize how much mako looks up to her
2 - i can say now that sakura/haewon/yoona shenanigans are coming up 100%! without giving too much away i'll say she fits pretty seamlessly in with them (mirroring the j-line a lot) and they become a trio really quickly. at first she is intimidated by sakura, she's loud and popular but as they get older sakura relies on her a lot (much like mimo), she finds that talking to haewon about emotions and feelings is way easier (sakura has a thick skull to put it nicely), so much like misa, haewon/yoona are really close in that regard and yoona is very protective of haewon and her feelings. at times she would feel insecure having not known them from the beginning, but not too much because in many ways it does feel like she has known them forever :)
3 - haewon is very much the opposite of her parents' love language, she tries not to be materialistic which is hard when one mom works in fashion and the other is a model/influencer haha but i think her love language would be words of affirmation, she's a really high strung kid so she just needs someone to bring her back to earth, for sakura it would probably be physical touch or acts of service and she doesn't realize how much acts of service really effect her, and for yoona it would be quality time, she's shy and to love someone she wants to know every single thing about them
4 - eunchae is really going to drive her parents mad (mostly dahyun) in her lil goth/emo phase haha she begs her parents for a drumset for her birthday and they regret it instantly, she'll deff be getting cool music recs from jisung and chae she probably sees chaeyoung as the coolest person ever with tattoos etc.

Ok, so for anyone who may be interested I thought I’d list some of my personal headcanon’s for some ff7 characters. Just as an FYI, my headcanon’s tend to fit into canon, this isn’t because I think ALL headcanon’s should fit into canon but because my autistic brain just really likes it when things fit together. People may disagree, that’s perfectly fine but some headcanon’s crop up in my fanfic all the time so wanted to share.  Reno: My main headcanon for Reno is that he’s from the slums, an orphan and was homeless for a time before being picked up by Veld to become a Turk. This is because in all the FF7 canon material out there Reno has an obsession with family (The Kids Are Alright, he is very insistent with making Rufus reconcile with his half-brother) and home. To me it just feels right that he’s like this because he didn’t have a family of his own. I think it could also be used to explain some of his other behaviors, being homeless as a child would have been extremely dangerous. It’s dangerous if you’re an adult, so I assume it’s worse for a kid. I am obsessed with the possible idea that Reno actually encountered Aerith before he joined the Turks. (there is absolutely NO reasoning in canon for this, I just like the idea). He would have been a teenager and she would have been very young. But following my previous headcanon of him being slum-born they do have that in common so possible bonding over that. They also have a very sibling-like relationship in the remake, they bicker like brother and sister. He considers the Turks (and later Rufus) as his family. This is implied pretty heavily in canon (at least to me) but also found family is just so good. This next one doesn’t have any basis in canon at all but it’s an idea I like; Reno was the leader of a small gang of other homeless children. In a kind of Peter Pan/Lost Boys kind of way. Makes sense, there’s safety in numbers and kids will gravitate towards others their age anyway. Reno is a functioning alcoholic. Ok, I KNOW a lot of people may have issues with this but I can’t see Reno having many healthy coping mechanisms and he’s also human and therefore has emotions in a job that involves a LOT of very dark things. Shinra doesn’t seem like the kind of company that would be willing to provide care for the mental health of it’s employees either. So no therapy for the Turks. Alcohol is easy to get hold of too, bars are everywhere. It seems like the simplest of vices to give him tbh. You can’t tell me Reno helps murder thousands of people and walks away without being affected at all, the plate drop was one instance in what is likely many traumatizing jobs he’s had to do.  Reno is artistic or otherwise creative. I don’t think he paints or draws (although I did put that into one of my fics I believe) regularly but I like to imagine he can if he wanted. This is mostly because I like people having surprising talents. I feel like he might be good at lots of creative pursuits, the kind of annoying person who can pick up something creative and be good it at it with minimal practice. Also the job of being a Turk likely involves a certain amount of creativity anyway, so it’s not such a huge leap to imagine. Also, and I know this sounds silly, but look at his hands. He has long fingers, fine bones etc...I dunno if anyone else has had this but I’ve had people tell me I have artists hands (I mean, I DO because I am an artist) because although I’m very small my fingers are quite long...sorry, it’s a weird one I know, lol.  So, these are just some headcanon’s I have for Reno. I will do others later. As a side note: everyone’s headcanon’s are valid.

"most people around robert didn't have high expectations for him morally wise at this point..."
I don't think anyone had any high expectations of Robert morally-wise... But the fact that they wouldn't be surprised or didn't expect better doesn't mean they can't still be annoyed with him.
"...someone feeling unrequited love for their parabatai is not illegal. parabatai in love is only illegal if they both pursue it."
That is, probably, exactly what is written in the Law and also the spirit of the Law. However, I do strongly believe that with a society as conservative and frankly sometimes bullheaded as Idris seems to be, that probably doesn't... really matter. You cannot look me in the eye and tell me you believe if Idris were to know Michael Wayland was in love with his parabatai there wouldn't be people pushing for their bond to be broken. I do understand Robert's hesitance to have his entire race looking at him like there's something wrong with him again. Or to see the same happen to Michael, his parabatai whom he does love in some way.
"i think he'd die before asking to go under a public trial by the mortal sword to swear that he never wanted michael carnally etc..."
...I think I'd also rather die at that point... Like no, I will not be swearing to my entire nation that I do not have sexual and/or romantic feelings for my best friend, thank you very much.
"And he couldn’t stand to have Michael looking at him like this. Because what if he started wondering, too?"
This bit always gets me because, alright, Robert reads very aromantic to me (or extremely repressed emotionally, one of the two, possibly both) and I suppose being raised in Idris in the '70s/'80s wouldn't be very conducive to him figuring out how to do relationships in that scenario. Everything else about his mental state, however? How badly did his parents and community fuck up for him to have no confidence in anything he does or thinks??
about the law and the parabatai bond, looks like you got exactly what i imagined! i was wondering about that today because it's something that would come up on my fic idea. (i have to keep calling it alive!michael AU as it doesn’t have any comprehensive working title? lol)
i usually don't reread TEWL often because the angst is too much for me, i just love robert so, so much... (and at this point i memorized the whole thing anyway). i'm a die-hard waywood shipper so i don't usually get behind the aromantic!robert headcanon, but i find it cool and i know artist ragnaei has done this super cute art of it that i love
i think objectively robert's feelings and anxieties don't look abnormal for a 18 years old, but all the other teenage characters being super hyped on their integrity and badassery doesn’t help. ah, the power of protagonism, if only robert had that, all his problems would be over
since the worldbuilding is weird, for my own takes i'm more willing to make the so called 'clave' better so for it to not look like a weak rip off of real world european/american politics, because that doesn’t work for me, so i'm more willing to blame, let's say, robert's parents, than anyone else, but i also want to flesh them out more because cartoon evil parents is something else i'm not interested in

What do you think each characters favorite food is?
Probably didn't get everyone but y'know. If I missed anyone you wanna hear my thoughts on send an ask and I'll edit them in.
Also please remember I have little to no justification for any of this and some are based on other headcanons I have so feel free to disagree, and I'd love to hear your thoughts too!
Legoshi's favorite food is ass If you asked him he'd probably say peanut butter or antshakes or those egg sandwiches but Legoshi's actual favorite food is almost definitely grandpa's hot pot. It was a huge deal that his family could actually share it so it's a little bittersweet now but it's still like, a primal memory for him.
Jack likes peanut butter. He's a dog, and also a basic bitch.
Collot's favorite food is also ass definitely something English, but I don't think I can pick just one because he can't either. He's only been to Europe once or twice but his family brought all their recipes with them.
I couldn't tell you exactly what Durham's is either except that it's some snack he found at an import shop once and has only ever seen like 3 times in his life and he can't read Malay so he doesn't even know how to look it up online.
Miguno really likes American-style food, and I headcanon him as being super wealthy, so he probably knows some specific bistro in the outskirts of Paris that makes the BEST cheeseburger like you can't even imagine. He's 100% wrong about this but he'll swear by it.
Voss likes spicy stuff. His favorite food evolves as he gains more tolerance, he always liked hot stuff as a kid but as a teenager he's had more freedom to get and try like internet-challenge level spicy things. By the time he graduates he's casually monching on dried ghost peppers.
I think Haru's favorite food is listed on a character sheet somewhere but I don't remember it. In my head, she's a rabbit so she likes carrot greens. NOT the orange part, that's a stereotype.
Louis has his favorite food listed as celery and that's not entirely wrong but his real favorites are the things he wasn't allowed to have growing up; deep-fried festival food, salty fast food, junk food in general. His tummy's a little sensitive so it's probably good he never gets to have it, but that forbidden fruit angle makes it all taste so much better.
Pina will insist his favorite is something fancy, and he'll tailor his answer to whoever he's talking to, but in reality he loves cheap street food. He's always secretly super happy when a date ends up at some shithole ramen stand.
Bill's is a brand of energy/protein bars he's eaten like, every single day since he first started going to the gym. He likes food as like, a general concept, but doesn't have a very discerning pallet and doesn't appreciate most dishes. All the raman we see him eat in the series is out of convenience over preferance.
Aoba would probably like onigiri or udon. I think he's more into traditionally Japanese stuff than anything but shares Bill's problem of not actually knowing or caring that much about food. Probably made intricate bento boxes as a kid.
Kibi's is antshakes.
Tao's is real basic butter noodles. He was the youngest in a biiiig family and always felt like a burden so he tried to fend for himself as much as possible, it was the first and simplest thing he learned to cook so he ended up eating it a lot.
Juno canonically has a sweet tooth, so most any cake or candy. Can't say why but my first thought was also ceasar salad, she's not big on salads in general but it feels healthy and her dog side loves anything creamy and/or cheesy.
Kai's is his mom's curry, especially the leftovers because she would make huge amounts of it that'd feed the family for a week. He and his brothers would eventually figure out she did it to stretch their food budget when money was tight, so it also signalled when his family would start getting overcompensatingly nice and helpful and have a lot of quiet bonding time.
Dom subsists almost exclusively on syrupy 7 dollar coffees. If you really insist that that doesn't count as a favorite food he also eats a lot of flavored cricket snacks. Unlike Bill or Aoba he does actually care about food and flavors he just forgets to eat actual meals so often he hasn't formed many opinions.
Riz likes honey and baking so his favorites are all combinations of that. Something as simple as a fresh baked bun with some honey drizzled on it can mean so much, honey pancakes when he wants a quick pick-me-up, honey cakes for friends and events, etc.
Ibuki's favorite food was venison, I think that's canon, and I'm not gonna do any other shishigumi guy on this list but I think it's important to mention.
Melon's favorite food, if you can call it that, is miracle berry tablets. I don't think he discovered them til after he was in jail but he was gifted some once and he still didn't really taste but things didn't taste different which was mind-blowing enough.
Yahya's favorite is carrots, natch.
Gouhin I think literally only eats bamboo, he'd go fucking insane for meat though if he ever let himself try it.
Gosha, you think I'm gonna say the hot pot for the reasons above, but no his favorite is actually the traditional Rexmas meal, the soup and pie and volcano salad. Same reasons, though, it was one of the big family meals he could have with Toki and any other non-komodo friends, the holidays pulled him from his depression a bit and helps him socialize.

i know ur a cain fan. how about cain for the ask game?
anon i am KISSING YOU ON THE LIPS AND PROPOSING RN THANK U SM
putting this under a cut because unsurprisingly this got LOOONG. I have A Lot to say about him lmaooo
anyways:
Sexuality Headcanon: Pansexual. That's cannon, and. Yeag. :]
Gender Headcanon: Trans man. This is a hill i will fucking die on, the amount of tboy swag that radiates off him is SO INTENSE. Also im transmasc and hes my favorite character so he gets hit with transgenderfication beam and also his gender is so fire and i love it sm theres no way a cis man can have that much gender
A ship i have with this character: I don't really ship too much, but I've always seen Cain as being like ~20 so i've kinda lowkey shipped him with Cal? It completely came from nothing tho lmaoo I just imagined an interaction between them and went "hang on. in this made up scenario of them they actually kind of have some chemistry. hmmmm."
A BROTP i have with this character: I've always gotten the vibes that Cain and Arclight are besties of all time. I don't know why. The vibes are just there. But also, CAIN AND HARDY!!!!!! They 1000% became besties while up in Calcenon and you CAN NOT convince me otherwise. They bonded over emo music at first and Hardy definately had a guitar on him when they got stuck in Calcenon (he's 100% one of those guys that just always carries a guitar with him) so he started teaching Cain how to play!! I also hc that he teaches Aya how to play too :] Also their dynamic is so funny lmaooo Cain chaos goblin plus Hardy Literally Just Doing His Best. I basically just expanded on their dialouge on Route 3 where Cain's like "man we're getting beaten up here and not in the good way ;;;)" and hardy's just like "there's a good way??????" just. that dynamic. Kind of feral and unhinged plus guy who's kind of confused but totally chill and just enjoying the ride. Anyways. I care them <3
A NOTP i have with this character: Again, I don't really ship much/have many strong opinions on ships so obviously excluding all the gross ones there isn't really any? I guess CainxHardy just because I like them as besties more?
A random headcannon: You're getting several. I have too many.
Cain has a few tattoos and when Anna and Noel first saw them it took him like. Two weeks to convince them that they really were permanent and Actually In His Skin and that he wasn't drawing them on every morning lmaooo
As for what the tattoos are, I imagine he has a small Jolteon on his ribcage on his side because it's his favorite eeveeloution and also the person he was dating at the time had a Jolteon. He was 16 and an unsupervised teenager, be nice >:( He will lie about the origins of this one tho he'll tell people that it's of Arc's jolteon and it was a best friends tattoo lmaoo. It also was his first tattoo!
He also has a purely aesthetic one on the top of his left forearm that's of a purple eye crying like, blobby space goop tears. It looks cool and is ourple. Next Question.
He has some random stick-and-poke flowers and other small designs on his shoulders that he got from friends and other random impulse nights.
His favorite and the biggest one is on the outside of his right calf and goes from ankle to knee. It's also the most personal one to him. It's a burned apple tree with various symbols formed in the patterns of the wood grain on the tree of things important to him. Some of them being the trans symbol, the posion type symbol and a flying bird (representing freedom) The overall meaning of it is based off the saying "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and is symbolizing him doing what he can to fall as far away from his "tree" (family) as he can, doing what he can to break that cycle of abuse and not become like his parents.
He also has a few piercings!! He's got multiple ear piercings throughout his ears, an eyebrow piercing and a tounge piercing.
Kind of related to what I said about his last tattoo, it hit me one day that despite how innuendo-filled his talk can be, Cain is one of the few characters who never swears, even cleary going out of his way to use more tame language. I hc that when he was younger and still lived at home, (i hc that he ran away from home when he was like 15 and just struggled throuhg life best he could until he was able to collect himself) he did swear and yell a lot because. It seems like yelling and loud arguments and cussing people out was kind of the norm, but once he got away and was able to get to a point in his life where it wasn't jsut Survival Mode doing what he could to keep going forwards, he kind of took a step back and realized that he could distance himself from being like his mother by not swearing and yelling all the time like she did. I don't exactly have the best words to describe it but that's like. the basic idea of it.
I have Many More headcannons but I will stop there for now lmaoo this has already gotten rather long sidohfnwiokfh
General Opinion over said character: Absolute love. Blorbo of all time. Such a skrinkly i've rotated him almost nonstop in my brain since i first met him, literally Such A Character. But also more seriously, I do also realte to him on a pretty personal level, with his anxiety about how he doesn't have a clear plan for himself and feeling alienated from his peers because of it how he's never really had grand plans for himself or known what he's wanted to do, like. I'm literally the EXACT same boat there so that part especially of his character, it just HITS. I also think A LOT about his dynamic with Aya, and just the whole thing of how they very clearly have hurt eachother A LOT unintentionally just tying to survive their own home, and that idea of yeah they both fucked up to different degrees, but how do you Not fuck something up in a situation like that and then them working on healing and trying to become siblings again and i just- FFFUCK its Good. and i haven't finished the maingame yet (though im working on victory road so im close!!!) so it's still a lot of just speculation for me, but GOD i just. Them. Dude, I could write literal essays about the LaRue siblings. But Cain has easily become one of my top blorbos ever and probably will for a long long time, like this funky little purple guy just holds such a special place in my heart and makes me so happy and, just, yeah <3 <3 <3 <3

Hey so I’m curious about your feelings on bones having a daughter? It’s just something I’ve been feeling conflicted about lately. Like on one hand I think it adds an interesting layer to his character. On the other hand it just seems like something that he would feel guilty about, assuming that it’s not a close relationship, which people sort of go back and forth on since he would be pretty absent but he also just seems like such a caring and loyal person so it can be hard to imagine him just not being around on any level for his kid. I also struggle a bit with the fact that so many people write her as being so young, which isn’t a bad thing but I always imagine her as a teenager or young adult, which, depending on how long Bones has been in space and part of the fleet, would also likely impact how close they are. Like did he leave when she was a young child so they never had the opportunity to be close or did he leave when she was a bit older so they had a relationship before he left?
I'm conflicted about him having an ex-wife jahdjshfjgdjgfj
This is gonna be headcanon heavy and maybe not really what's common? idk Because the fandom expects it, I generally have him be divorced and have a daughter in TOS. In my mind, he married young and had Joanna when he was in his very early 20s (like 22yo) and was studying medicine. He wasn't ready to settle down, he wasn't able to be there for his wife or his newborn daughter, and within two years after Joanna's birth, the wife had enough and filed for divorce. That led McCoy to join the service.
So in my 'verse McCoy has never been around. He provided for his daughter, and the older he got the more he started to reach out to her, but it didn't always go well. (In my mind, Joanna is bitter and blames McCoy, especially during her teenage years.) He feels regret over his choices (and more and more the older he gets), but he's imho a career-driven man (like Kirk), and he doesn't regret his life in general. (in my hc he reconnects with Joanna after Joanna has her own daughter, and he tries to be a good grandfather)
I think it's rare for Joanna to be young in TOS-based fics (not unheard of though), but in AOS fics, she'd be young. I think it's usually assumed she was born in 2249 - that makes her 16-21 during the five-year mission in TOS. But would make her just a kid during the AOS timeline. When Kirk and McCoy met in AOS, Joanna would be 6. (But people might use different years idk) I personally don't headcanon that Joanna exists in AOS, though. The years are just all off, so I don't even hc that McCoy married the same woman. Since in TOS, at the time of him meeting Kirk in AOS, McCoy was with Nancy.
I also can't stop but think how Jim would think about his BFF going to space and leaving his young kid behind. He'd have a lot of things to say about that imho
So, even though I would occasionally prefer not to use McCoy having an ex-wife or a daughter, I created a version for myself I can get behind. It also allows me to deepen the connection between Kirk and McCoy (in TOS) because they can commiserate and bond over having kids and not knowing them. And I love to create connections between the relationship between McCoy&Joanna and Sarek&Spock, allowing McCoy to understand Sarek's position and being able to explain some things to Spock, things Spock can't see, because McCoy speaks from experience.

Can I be greedy and ask for all of the boys ? And any characters you have strong opinions on? Pretty please? With lots of cherries and chocolate on top? ( for the ask meme ofc)
Anon, I'll finish up all of the boys in the Chain just for you. And trust me, I have an Infinite Amount of Strong Opinions. You have no idea how Opinionated I Am.
If anyone is coming in late to this, here are the boys I have done already and a short summary of my thoughts (click the hyperlinks to get the full Opinion):
Warriors: he's best when he's the trashy anti-Link, and I like him so much
Twilight: kind of boring, but I have a soft spot for him anyway because you never forget your first
Wind: should have been aged up a little so that he can have that identity crisis I'm craving
This... gets long. Really long. 3-hours-of-work-long. Before you read, please note that even when I speak negatively about something, it’s not to diss anyone who does like the thing. I’m not vague posting or being passive aggressive. This is all written in good humor and good faith.
That being said, let’s a-go!
-Sky-
What I love about them: He has one of the best character arcs of all the Links. I love that he starts off being lazy and kind of a jerk, but grows as a person because he wants to save his friend. And I love that he's truly the most courageous Link. He has no other successful hero of past or legacy to lean back upon to reassure him. He walked into that fight with Demise with no assurance from anyone that he would succeed. Yet, he does it anyway. Because he's a true hero and someone had to be one. And he's rewarded with a curse that he does not initially take seriously. He thinks he's saved everyone, yet he's cursed his spirit, possibly his bloodline, and his entire legacy of the kingdom of Hyrule into a doomed cycle of destruction. All because he dared to face evil incarnate. I love him.
What I hate about them: You know how I called Twilight boring? I should have saved that critique for Sky. LU Sky is actually the most boring interpretation of his character. All of his negative traits? Gone. All of his positives? Also gone. He's the blandest version of himself, and like Twilight, I now feel like I gotta add some spice to him to make him more interesting while still keeping him recognizable. Even so, he's still one of my favorite Links.
Favorite Moment/Quote: When he kicks Twilight's ass at sword fighting. That's stuff is *chef's kiss*
What I would like to see more focus on: You would think that there would be more angst out there about him realizing that he's actually been cursed, but it's still kind of hard to find. He's the Cursed Knight! The beginning of a terrible legacy! Imagine meeting a bunch of heroes for the first time, and instead of being relieved at having someone who understands your experiences, you're filled with horror at realizing that your victory was a false one. You didn't win. Your spirit will never be at rest. Imagine dealing with that realization for the rest of your life. You could never be at peace.
What I would like to see less focus on: I love that he loves his wife, but he's more just the fact that he's married, y'know? I would like to see a little less blind devotion to Hylia and Zelda, and more complicated feelings about being manipulated into being the hero.
Favorite pairing with: Sun/Link/Groose OT3! I have no reasoning behind this other than I like Groose and Groose definitely had a crush on SkSw Link.
Favorite friendship: I won't answer Groose again even if I want to, so I'll say Warriors. I cannot begin to describe how elite this friendship would be if you gave it a chance. They're just two boys dealing with unique positions of leadership and responsibility. They would probably even bond over being shitheads at different ends of the shithead spectrum. It's so good, okay?
NOTP: Ghirahim. I'm not too adverse to this one, but the ship hinges on whether you can redeem Ghirahim or not. In my opinion, Ghirahim is awesome because he's such a fun villain. Redeeming him ruins the fun.
Favorite headcanon: I have a whole life story planned out for Sky. Basically, he lives to be close to 500 years old by the power of the Triforce. He is the Link throughout the Era of Chaos who banishes the Dark Interlopers to the Twilight Realm and seals the Triforce in the Sacred Realm. He actually seals himself in the Sacred Realm as well to keep the Triforce safe, and he fought Ganondorf in when he broke in. Sky, like Time and Wind, does not get a happy ending.
-Four-
What I love about them: Four is origin of the heroes of Hyrule being known for being children. What a legacy to leave behind. He's such an interesting case of an incarnation of the Hero's Spirit, too. He fought Vaati, and he did his job so well that Demise's next incarnation had to be Ganondorf. Four did his job the best out of everyone, and it came at the cost of creating a magic sword that changed him permanently. I like to think that the Four Sword was not meant to split him, that it was a mistake he made with the design. And it's sad, isn't it? You made a defective sword, and like any good sword, it has a symbolic double edge. It gifted you with so much, and yet he can never be the same again. And his story is never well-remembered because it is overshadowed by the Links who fought the King of Evil. He's does so much, yet his legacy is underappreciated.
What I hate about them: I want to prepare you for this Opinion, because I know it's unpopular. Are you ready? Okay. I don't like the Colors. I'm sorry. I want to like them, but they don't interest me at all. Because they are parts of Four’s personality, they have to be one-note archetypes which does not make for exciting storytelling. I also haven't found a fic yet that has been from Four's POV that did the internal monologue of the Colors in a way that wasn't a pain in the ass to read. Maybe if someone can figure out how to do the Colors in a way that doesn't feel like a drag, I would like them more. But in the end, I think Four himself is more interesting than the Colors.
Favorite Moment/Quote: The fact that he didn't want to touch the Master Sword because he doesn't trust magic swords. That is every I need to know about his opinion on his own adventures.
What I would like to see more focus on: I want more of Four as Four. It's getting harder to find content of Four being his own person first and the Colors second.
What I would like to see less focus on: Four being the Colors first and his own person second. There is something about viewing Four as this cover identity for the Colors that doesn't feel right. There's a balance that needs to be strike between his ability to split, how that affects his every day life, and his own identity of being Four. I think I may have read one fic that hit that sweet spot for me, but still.
Favorite pairing with: Shadow. I'm such a sucker for befriending and falling for the enemy. That is all.
Favorite friendship: Dot! Their friendship is super cute. I like the idea of them being super close when they were younger and struggling to keep the friendship going as they age due to how much their paths in life diverge.
NOTP: This isn't necessarily a Four or an LU problem, but people who ship the Colors together? Bro. C'mon.
Favorite headcanon: I'm torn between two different Four and the Master Sword headcanons. On one hand, Four thinking that the Master Sword is just legend until he meets Sky and everyone else is just a fun idea. He sees the legendary sword for the first time and his mind is blown. On the other hand, I also like my Four with a side of hubris. What if he had the option on his quest to draw the Master Sword himself? What if he could tell that if he did that, the consequences would be terrible. He's not sure what would happen, but he knows it would be terrible. So he decided to make his own sword instead to disastrous results. Wouldn't that be tragic or what?
-Time-
What I love about them: Last winter, I did a two hour powerpoint for my friends about the Legend of Zelda timeline. During that powerpoint, I was rating every iteration of Link. What I said about the Hero of Time then holds true to my thoughts of LU Time now. Time is the original Link, more so than Sky in the lore and Legend/Hyrule in real life. Every other hero is a reflection of him. So the fact that his story is about the loss of childhood and the tragedy of that is incredible, and you can see those themes reflected in every other game. Moreso, he’s the only Link with a confirmed tragic ending. Not only does he end his life unsatisfied, but his adventure is failure on every timeline. In the adult timeline, Hyrule is swallowed by the sea. In the child one, Ganondorf returns again. In the fallen timeline, Hyrule fell. I like the idea since that the games themselves are the legends that are past down about each hero, Hylians have also remembered Time as a tragic figure. Yet, they also remember that the happy moments for his life come from small acts of kindness. Even someone as sad as him finds joy in helping others, even if it’s just to small deeds that will not be heralded as grand heroic quests. It’s beautiful.
What I hate about them: This is more about Mask than Time, but Mask is not an adult in a child’s body. He did not rewind time in Termina enough to be considered mentally an adult. He’s a young teenager at best, and that’s me being generous. He is a child who was forced to be an adult and despite the gods being done with him, he cannot conceive of ever having a childhood again. So he can say all he wants that he’s an adult, but he is not. That’s just what he thinks he is.
Favorite Moment/Quote: Anytime we get a flashback to him being a younger adult is great. I want to see more of his in this his early adulthood.
What I would like to see more focus on: I think I just want more of Time being... not a bad leader, but being an imperfect one. I honestly think he’s only the leader because he’s the oldest and enough of the heroes recognize the title of Hero of Time. But he is not the leader type, and he is struggling to keep it together and has to defer to Twilight and Warriors for help a lot.
What I would like to see less focus on: I’m not the biggest fan of Dad!Time for any of the Links. He’s not emotionally ready for it. And I think he defaults to treating the boys like adults because that’s how he wanted to be treated when he was their age.
Favorite pairing with: Malon. He has this great partnership of equal respect with her and it’s just. So good.
Favorite friendship: Linebeck. I know. This exists only in my head. But if these two ever meet, you cannot convince me that they would not get along swimmingly. It would be so good (once Linebeck gets over his crush on Time and stops hitting on him, of course).
NOTP: Child Timeline Zelda. Let me explain: I fully believe in Bi Time supremacy, and when in OoT, he definitely had a crush on Sheik. However, one of the worst parts of rewinding time and being in the child timeline is that Zelda is a completely different person now. They may have been friends in the other timeline, but her life experiences are completely different now. She is not the same person as he once knew. And it’s tragic to know someone as who they could have been, not as they are.
Favorite headcanon: After Termina, Time spent a lot of time with the Nabooru because out of everyone he knew, she’s the only who took him seriously even as a child. She has big older sister energy, and he considers her a part of his family. However, being treated as such made it easier for him to ignore his issues and put off his healing process by a few years.
-Legend-
What I love about them: Veteran of Heroes! What a freaking title. I love that he keeps on finding adventures, and that he keeps hustling. Even if he complains about never getting a break, you can tell that he loves helping others. He loves being on the road, never settling down, and finding adventure after adventure. Honestly, if any of the Links had a calling to be a hero, it’s him. Is he tired? Sure. Is he a little jaded after having saved Hyrule and a bunch of other kingdoms multiple times? Yes. But at the end of the day, he likes being a hero. This is who he is. His complaining is not genuine; he just plays the martyr because, at this point, he’s earned the right to.
What I hate about them: If you can’t tell by now, I have a, uh, different interpretation of Legend from popular canon. Fandom Legend is not right to me. He is unrecognizable. It is hard to write him because I feel like I have to balance what other people think Legend should be versus how I think he is. The people who are big Legend enjoyers probably feel the same way about my version of Warriors, and that’s fine. I’m not going to gel with every character and I don’t expect everyone to gel with how I see characters either. It’s goes both ways, y’know.
Favorite Moment/Quote: I like how subtly he tried to approach the Wolfie problem at first, trying to ask questions and get more proof before confronting Twilight. It’s a good touch.
What I would like to see more focus on: If I had to choose one thing, it’s this one throw away line about him never wanting to settle down. I’m telling you, folks! He likes his lifestyle! And did you see him when he does presenting the origins of the hero? He’s not bitter about being a hero! Legend is moody, but he is not angsty about the whole hero thing. Have fun with him please!
What I would like to see less focus on: If you can’t tell by now, Legend is my least favorite Link. There is a lot I want to see less of, but just to name one thing, it’s the headcanon that Fable is his sister. I live and die by common born Link, and whether he’s a legitimate heir or the royal bastard, I am more than bored with the persistent Prince!Legend content.
Favorite pairing with: Marin. It’s a good tragic story and I like it well enough. She’s cute, and he’s cute with her.
Favorite friendship: Warriors. I’m with everyone else on these two have peak sibling energy. They tease and pick on each other, but only they are allowed to mess with each other. They’re each other’s bully, and it’s always good to see.
NOTP: I do not have enough energy to have a lot of strong opinions about Legend’s romantic relationships, but I will mentioned that I have lost a lot of love for Ravio recently and am liking seeing him with Legend less and less. I have no better reason for this than the fact that I finally played ALBW and hate how many of my hard earned rupees he’s taken from me by withholding important, lifesaving items. Rat bastard.
Favorite headcanon: Remember my headcanon about him being the coolest bad boy folk hero on the block because everyone thinks he kidnapped Zelda? Yeah, I still stand by that one. I did good there.
-Hyrule-
What I love about them: If there is any Link that I would call a gutter rat, it is this one. I struggle a bit to talk about Hyrule since his games gives us so little, but in the end, I always fall back on him being a hero of the people. He is the one who has nothing and relates the best to people who are at their lowest. Yet, he is still a hero. He earns the right to be a hero because he helped Impa in her time of need. He’s selfless and competent. Even if he never got a traditional education, I bet he’s wicked smart too. He is the Link that symbolizes all of the parts of the Triforce the most. And, god. I cannot talk about him without mentioning the blood sacrifice part of LA. It’s such a cool concept, and I cannot imagine what it must be like to go from being the rough and tumble, win-at-all-costs fighting to protecting yourself first because if you don’t, the consequences are disastrous. It’s paradoxical, and it must be such a different mindset to fall into. But it must also be a blessing in disguise since now he has a reason to finally care about himself.
What I hate about them: Who started the Hyrule is innocent headcanon? Come over here because we need to exchange some words. If there is anyone who would be a realist and know how the world works, it’s this guy. And while we’re here, who came up with the Hryule is always lost headcanon? I also have some words for you. And you know what? WHILE WE’RE HERE, who let him be named Hyrule? I’m have more than choice words for you. His name scheme is the bane of my existence and the express reason why I don’t write him more. God.
Favorite Moment/Quote: That one panel where he takes utter delight in Warriors hiding from his scorned lovers? That is a central pillar in my understanding of Hyrule.
What I would like to see more focus on: Again, his relationship with other people. Even if his games are lacking in NPCs, we know from lore that he’s a good guy who will jump in to help others. He must know plenty of people, and I want to see who exists in his world with him.
What I would like to see less focus on: I have an on-going joke with my brother that certain characters are Catholic, even if Catholicism does not exist in the world of the thing we’re watching or playing. Of course, we’re not being serious. we’re just joshing around. So imagine the gut punch I feel whenever I see people say Hyrule is Christian and realize that they’re being serious. I just can’t take it seriously.
Favorite pairing with: Aurora. It’s cute and I’m a sucker for that hero and royalty dynamic, especially when the hero is a peasant. It’s so cheesy, but I love it.
Favorite friendship: Legend. But not the way everyone else pairs them up as the grumpy one and the sunshine one. I think of it more as them being the pinnacle of boys being boys. They’re shitheads. They do stupid shit together. They both have a dark sense of humor. They joke that they’re practically the same person sometimes.
NOTP: uhhhhhhhhh.... Is he paired with anyone else?
Favorite headcanon: I love the idea that he just likes his way of life and refuses to accept anyone saying otherwise. Legend wants to teach him to read? Sorry, but he’s never had to read before in his life so he’s pretty sure he’ll never need it anyway. Want to participate in the treasured Hylian tradition of piercing your ears when you come of age? Why would he ever do that when a monster could rip those earrings off? He’s stuck in his ways and it frustrates everyone else to no end, but he has no interest in ever changing.
-Wild-
What I love about them: When I was 9, I spent my time online on Legend of Zelda forums. I remember one of my forum friends saying that they wanted a Legend of Zelda game where Link lost. And I think of that friend whenever I think about Wild. BOTW Link is the best Link that has ever been. He is the epitome of every trait we associate with any Link. He’s smart and sassy. He’s hard working and kind. But underlining all of that is the fact that he’s still the one who failed. If Demise’s Curse in SkSw is the set-up, the Great Calamity is the payoff. And I haven’t even talked about how confirming him as being non-verbal before the Calamity does so much for his characterization. I don’t even know where to start or how to articulate it. By game storyline alone, Wild is one of my favorites.
What I hate about them: You guys knew this one was coming, but I’m going to have to say it anyway. Fandom Wild.... not good. I’ve said it for half of these boys so far, but god is it true. I have a way I see Wild that is rarely done in the fandom. Fandom Wild has a lot of the traits I also see in Wild, but to all of the extremes. I will mention one thing in particular as being a pet peeve, and it’s how some people headcanon him as always being nonverbal. I know what they’re trying to do, and I think they’re on to something, but they’re also missing the point of what BOTW Link’s character arc is. I just wish more people would forget fandom and work more off of the games for how to characterize him.
Favorite Moment/Quote: Weirdly enough, my favorite moment is when he got mad at everyone for making fun of his Gerudo outfit, so he dumped Goron Spice in his cooking. It’s encapsulates a part of his character I think a lot of people forget about.
What I would like to see more focus on: I think he has a really complicated relationship with his past. He said himself that his old self felt like a different person, and I think that should be explored a lot more. That idea actually fascinates me so much that instead of CTB, I almost wrote a character study fic about Wild. His emotions are not as simple as feeling guilty about letting his friends die and not preventing the Calamity. His emotions would be so complicated and because I don’t have the time to explore it, someone else needs to do it for me.
What I would like to see less focus on: There is a weird fascination with Wild having memory loss and essentially being like a kid again. And this feels infantilizing to me. It honestly bugs me a lot every time I see it.
Favorite pairing with: I can’t decide between Zelda, Mipha, and Revali. They’re all different dynamics and they’re all good.
Favorite friendship: Paya. I firmly believe that Paya is Wild’s best friend. I am the only one in the world who believes this. But I am also the only one in the world who is correct.
NOTP: Wild is good with everyone. Good for him!
Favorite headcanon: An essential scene of my Wild character study I will never write is one where his horse dies. He goes into shock and walks back to Kakariko to talk to Impa. But once he goes to her, he breaks down in tears and has an absolute melt down over the horse. And Impa sagely says, “It’s not about the horse, is it?” She’s implying that he’s actually mourning the loss of his friends, Hyrule, his life, everything-- but through his tears, he keeps tell her that she’s wrong. He barely remembers them. He doesn’t know them. He doesn’t have any feelings about them. He just really loved that horse. But Impa refuses to listen to him, just repeating over and over again: “it’s not really about the horse.”
And that’s it! That’s all of my opinions! I know a lot of my opinions are polarizing, but everything I said is in good faith, and I am not trying to diss anyone for how they approach these characters.
I welcome you to send me your Opinions on the Links, even if it’s just to disagree with me. I’m cool with it, and I like knowing what everyone else thinks!
