drawing this one was so time-consuming and ambitious but boy, do i love the end result! i had fun doing the inks for this one but was it a lot! i usually color in lineart and render everything but i had to stop myself from doing it for this one bc man, i'll die asksks

this also has some of my favorite apollos i've drawn, definitely

also! the part about the lineart not being colored and no rendering ended up being a deliberate stylistic choice for this one bc i had like more freedom to do just shadows with inks without it looking too out of place.

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?)

He is down for everything he actually wants to spend most of his time hanging out with you (when I tell you this man SUFFERS during the time away from Hogwarts) but he also loves learning about your hobbies and tries to learn them but if he's not good at it, he will still enjoy keeping you company while you do them.

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

On a rainy day, you guys usually pull some pranks around the castle with the other marauders. But he also enjoys invading the kitchen elves and attempting to cook something with you until you two are kicked out and banned for almost burning down the kitchen. He enjoys quiet reading time in one of your dorms and dancing to your favorite songs.

S = Support (Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?)

This man will encourage you to no end, he believes you could do anything. They are constantly cheering you on and helping you study when you have a test. If one day you throw out a random idea about opening a business or something like that, this man will immediately buy anything you need to start said business.

T = Time (how long did it take you to get together?)

longer than he would of liked but you were oblivious at first and then skeptical of his true intentions. You truly made him work for it but he doesnt regret it one bit.

U = Understanding (How well do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)

He would try his hardest to be the most understanding but he did grow up as a rich spoiled only child and his parents did their best and hes an amazing person for it hes just not always consious that not everyone grew up the same. Or that things outside from his bubble are different. However hes willing to learn and he will never make you feel bad for how you feel and will be there by your side to deal with whatever may come.

V = Value (How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?)

To him the relationship means everything he would risk it all and leave it all behind. He truly envisions a future with you and hes willing to put the work for it.

W = Wedding (When, where, and how do they propose?)

I think he would be ready very soon however I want to say he would wait for a littlebit after you two graduated from hogwarts and settled because he wants to give you the best life possible with his effort and not just his parents money. I think he would also be down to travel a little with you before popping the question.

As for how he proposes i think he would plan something big but just the two of you and maybe some of your friends there to help set up. Or maybe something where both of your families and friends are there ( I personally would hate someone other than my SO and I being there but i feel like he would like that sooo)

He's affectionate in public and in private this man does not care i feel like touch is one of his love languages but if you are not into PDA he'll understand and try to stick to only hand holding or small lingering touches.

You know the hand flex? Yeah that was James Potter the first time you two touched before you two got together.

Y = Yearning (How well do they cope when they’re separated from their S/O?)

This man is dramatic when he's away from you even if it's just an hour (I feel like James is sometimes dramatic for shits and giggles and then people actually believe him), this man acts like it's been ages and most times someone will have to just call you so he stops mopping around. (One time when school was off it hadn't even been a full day and Euphemia had to come look for you and ask your parents for permission so you could spend a few days with them, so James would stop complaining.) If it's absolutely impossible for one of you to visit the other, the amount of letters that the two of you send each other is insane (think about texting but with letters.) your poor owls deserve better. sksk.

Z = Zen (What makes them feel calm?)

You.

Literally, the thought of just being with you makes James feel calm, he wants the quiet mornings and the late night pillow talks with you. Just whatever life might throw at you two, but if he's by your side, he's confident everything will be alright.

Hiiii!!!! Sorry this a little late I've been a little busy the past couple days! This ones definitely gonna be a long one, but i might skip a few songs, so if their are any other ones you'd like to hear about lmk!! Some of these i associate with one of them in particular rather than both. The relation to them and the song is not necessarily what i interpret the song as, but just how it fits and relates to them!!! (also guys dont judge me for the music taste)

Trees-Mcafferty

So this one is very much like catholic/religious guilt, but is even just like being in a family and culture (like the purebloods, like the blacks) that is very very homophobic and strict. The first verse says "my mom was a christian, my dad is an alchie, i bet that he kills me", this to me is very regulus in the whole, walburga being someone who was brought up in a strict and 'be perfect' way, which she then puts onto her kids. And orion someone who is way harder on them, no room for repenting, just damnation. Though they both could represent this song, for they both had such controlling and strict home lives. I feel like it also, especially towards the ends of the song, talks about being different and "wrong" and a freak, feeling just so outcasted and trying to fit in, but never being able to.

If I Saw Him, Id Still Kiss Him-Mcafferty

This is veryyyy Barty's POV after Regulus died. It describes a house filled with ghosts and memories. Barty wishing they ran away instead "Lets go to italy, just you and me, i think wed really like it there", thinking that maybe regulus wouldnt have had the fate he did if they left the whole war behind. It describes the depression and loss of self/hope throughout the rest of this war. The verse from "took a picture of a picture" to "Get to New York for the sunsets" to me, describes how regulus had a different relationship to him than anyone else. I mean this song to me is especially sad if you think of it as they never really got together it was just an almost/what if?

Blue Eyes Like The Devils Water-Mcafferty

This is another Barty POV song to me, but its overall just a description of them being in bad situations and them falling for each other was just making everything better and worse at the same time. This shows how they were kind of raising themselves, both parents ignoring them so long as they do what theyre supposed to. It's just the two of them kind of deal.

The Lions Den-Mcafferty

Another song about them going down together, Barty POV again too. He sees Regulus falling more and more into this dark obsession and going down together. I especially think of the lions den as The Cave, especially in a Barty went with him Au. Him watching regulus getting pulled down everywhere, in his dreams, in real life, hallucinations. "I still remember his eyes on mine" The guilt consuming him, wishing he went with him too. Going crazy because of it "Let me break, let me slip to the bottom of this hill, let my body fall into the pit, into the lions den" and "this is just a bad dream, everybody wakes up soon" convincing himself its not real, that one day hell wake up and regulus will be ok, so everything is. Or the "waking up" is death, he wishes to fall under the water aswell, to die, to be at peace with regulus.

Alligator Skin Boots-Mcafferty

This song is regulus when he's had his change of mind, when he's decided to sacrifice. It starts with him kind of comparing himself to his parents and their complacency and their being messed up. Then from "Im cold to the touch" to then end, is him in the cold waters dying, for his friends who are now in the order, and hoping the others will be safe once the war is over, too.

Pine Point-PUP

Ok so this ones very special to me for them! To me, its them both looking at each other as they go their own way once they've lost each other in the war. "where i kept my eye on the prize, it was you" Barty going crazy after loosing reg, Regulus seeing barty get more and more into the death eater stuff right as he is changing his mind. They have such a intertwined history and memories. Now they're both praying they're doing right for the other, and that the other is doing something right. Bonus points for this song: mentions of loosing an older brother, also just like an awesome breakdown riff.

Just gonna saying im not gonna go into the pheobe bridgers ones rn cause soo many of her songs are them (specifically reg's pov in my mind) but if anyone wants me to, lmk.

This is the yearning for your best friend song!!! Like just being like, "is this not enough? i have everything, yet i still want to be more with you" To me, its so them cause of the "ive turned down every hand that has beckoned me" cause i think they never would even consider being with anyone else, its JUST the other for them. And also "I will be the one you need, i just cant be without you" is their obsession and need to be with eachother, and the way they idolize each other, the need to be congruent. The whole song just describing a love so strong it builds up inside you, it calls to you, but pushing it down ruins you from the inside out.

Old friend-Mitski

This is in a scenario where they've broken up(which would never be by their choice imo). Idk i feel like if they ever broke up, itd be similar vibes to these lines: "I havent told anyone, just like we promised, have you?" "everytime i drive through the city where youre from i squeeze a little" "Ill take anything you give me". Do you see the vision?? Drowning mention too!!! It's more of a mentally/emotional drowning(like in depression/insanity, etc). in my mind the "someone whos loves me now, better than you" would be less of a literal statement, and more of a hope or a wish. Like they each would be unable to be together because they each have to be with a person who is "better" for them, since they enable each other to be really themselves. It's denial that they actually want the love the other gives.

Literally regulus as he's drowning in the cave. He's remembering barty, all of their shared memories, and praying that theyll "stick together" like they always have. Two slow dancers, maybe his afterlife. Or his last thoughts that lull him to "sleep". In the chaos of the hands and air squeezing out of his lungs, hes brought back to a memory of them. They both wish they could go back to before the whole mess, "to think that we could stay the same" hes criticizing himself for hoping the two of them could join this war and stay as they were.

ok, picture me this: regulus lives AU!! Maybe Barty went with him, or found him, or reg goes to him after the cave, but nonetheless!!! He's weak, hes scared for defecting, theyre both at odds. But all Barty can do is take care of him, and reassure his fears, though he, himself, is feeling those as well. Just like listen to the lryics:(((

This is Regulus watching Barty get more and more obsessive over Voldemort, as he's slowly doing the opposite. Reg knows Barty doesn't notice and doesn't know why he craves this approval, but Regulus does, he can tell. "With wild horses running through your hollow bones" that father figure voldemort is to barty is something he need so bad, its unstoppable. Just like that, dark magic, the murder. He caught a taste of it, and he can't go back.

Once more to seeyou- Mitski

(starts shaking) They can't be seen together, not just the homophobia of the time, and pretentiousness of their families, but their families hating each other. "but with everybody watching us, our every move, we do have reputations" GOD tell me that's not them!! They are both in such "important" families, for two opposing beliefs, that taught them they must hold themselves to high expectations to keep up the family name. Everyone's eyes are on them both!!! Everyone's like, this is barty to reg. NO!!! Its regulus to barty!!! REGULUS was the one who grew up in the pureblood culture/beliefs, he might've been the one to convert barty, to introduce him to it. i could quote the entire song, but i wont... BUT!! This is, to me, Regulus towards the end of his life. He's changed his mind, and now he sees how he destroyed Barty, how he guided him to voldemort, and told him all of his beliefs. How, in his old, skewed view of the world, he was "turning" barty away from what he now saw as the right way. He wishes barty chose someone else, who wouldnt've done that. And now, standing at the edge of the water, he can feel his death, his fate coming close. He knows that it was his choice to be so horrible. And now, after leading barty astray, hes leaving him there, hes betraying not only voldemort, but the love of his life.

The frost-Mitski

Barty's all alone. All of his friends are dead, his family is gone, regulus is missing and betrayed him. "youre my best friend, now ive no one to tell, how i lost my best friend" he not only lost regulus, he lost the only person who would truly know how he feels about it. He feels resentful towards regulus, not for betraying him, but that he was never told!! did he forget? did he think he wouldnt understand? Did something change? Did nothing change and he never really knew Regulus like he thought he did? Should he have seen it coming, but he was to busy pretending everything was ok? "but me, i was hiding, or forgotten"

Heaven-Mitski

Either one of them POV reminiscing over the last time they were together, regulus before his death, and barty after regulus' death. Equating their love to heaven, the love they have for eachother is religious. Very love song by LDR. Both sensing their fate coming near, the calm before the storm. Regulus knows hes going on a self sacrificing mission, and barty knows his mind is unraveling quicker and quicker as the days go on.

When memories snow-Mitski

"and if i break, could i go on break? be back in my room, writing speeches in my head" Barty is crazed with guilt, hes breaking. Hes replaying the last conversation, moment, argument, touch, glance, anything he had with regulus. Looking for anything different he could have done instead that wouldve changed the outcome. His memories are mixing together, he cant remember what actually happened and when. Those memories snow and they obscure his view of reality.

Early sunsets over monroeville-MCR

STOP!!! Barty is grieving!!!! "running away and hiding with you, i never thought theyd get me here." him staying down low enough that he wasnt suspected to be a DE, he ran away from his dad to be a DE. He thought they could never find him, and now his soul is close to being taken from him, til hes nothing. all he has left are jumbld memories. "but would anything matter if youre already dead? and should i be shocked by the last thing you said?" The betrayal means nothing, for regulus is dead, who is he supposed to be mad at? and maybe he shouldve seen it coming, maybe there were signs. He can never go back. "and in saying you loved me made things harder at best, and these words changing nothing as your body remains" Regulus loving him makes the hurt only worse, and admitting that to himself hurts even more. No matter any scenario in which he said something different, where he begged regulus not to go, or that hed leave with him, or they never joined in the first place matter, because regulus is still dead, his body is still at the bottom of that lake.

This is Regulus POV!!!! He worships Barty, he idolizes him. "..all the things you do, and the ways you move, send me straight to heaven." He regrets never telling Barty just how much he loved him, and he regrets having to betray him "and darling i never meant to defy you" This is set to me, once again, once hes changed his mind and is going on his mission. "I never meant to be bad or unwell, i was just lving on the edge right between heaven and hell, and im tired of it." trying to balance how he feels about barty once hes switched beliefs, he still is utterly devoted to barty and loves him, but they now have these huge opposing beliefs. and he cant help but blame himself. That part right after the last chorus that is just "why?" over and over and over again.

Mojo Pin-Jeff Buckley

This song is literally describing still feeling your lover there, long after they are gone, and feeling conflicted about how you should feel. "Dont want to weep for you, dont want to know" maybe barty is conflicted, he doesnt want to know what happened to reg or why, he knows he wont like the answer. he doesnt want to accept regulus is gone, and he doesnt want to accept why hes gone. "oh the welts of your scorn. my love, give me more, send whips of opinion down my back, give me more" Barty has now changed his mind, he realizes that he would rather know, he would rather regulus had gave him reason, then he couldve gone with him, and maybe he wouldnt be dead. As long as he's still getting something tangible from his lost lover.

Oh my GOD!!! go listen to ghost of you by My Chemical Romance, every single lyric is barty after regulus died, im not doing this one, cause id have to to just say every line, but PLEASE look at the lyrics and think of them!!! JUst some of the lines are: "if i died wed be together", "all the things that you never ever told me", "ever get the feeling that youre never alone?", "And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me" like please somebody help barty!!!

So, first of all, this song switches from regulus' POV to barty's at the lyric "and i wrote all of my songs..." just to be clear. Regulus wants to be the perfect son for his family, and he takes it too far in the process. "and you are innocent, at least you wish you finally were, you gotta keep your head up, but not too high, cause youll lose sight of what youve got" He doesnt realize barty is in the DE stuff just as deep as himself until hes changed his mind. "and im sorry, my love, that i ruined what we had" hes betraying barty, hes abandoning them. Then every line from bartys POV is just perfect. "he says 'i miss my brother, but hes not coming home, and i know that hes better, so its tie to grow up'." i mean COME ON? "you were my best friend, so i will love you 'til the very, very end" They both have so much guilt and regret and have wronged each other, but they still cant bring themselves to hate each other.

An Analysis of the Good Omens 2 Title Sequence and Trailer / S2 Theories

(Edit: Almost all of these theories about S2 turned out to be wrong, but some deductions can pave the way to S3. I added edits so certain parts are clearer after watching S2. If you're still curious, let's jump right into it.)

I have some theories I would like to share. This is going to be a long one, so buckle up.

The title sequence starts off simple: Crowley climbs his way up and Aziraphale flies down to earth, meeting each other.

On this shot two tombstones can be seen: "HERE LIES THE FORMER SHELL OF BEELZEBUB" and "Here lies... ADAM" ... so hold up. We know that there is going to be a timeskip between GO1 and GO2... But Adam died? The antichrist who singlehandedly beat the devil by shouting at him that he's not his dad, is dead already? Something's definitely up.

[Edit: I have been informed that Adam on the tombstone is not Adam Young, so, no.]

In this shot Aziraphale and Crowley are in what seems to be Hell by the pentagram on a cave wall on the top right side of the shot, with people (presumably dead, since this is hell) following them, also a desk with an old monitor by a chair on narrow rocks stacked on top of each other... Let's come back to this later.

While a reenactment of the Blitz plays out in the sequence, a big poster can be seen on the right side. The upper left side of the poster which includes one of the seeming love interests is... shot? Broken?The poster belongs to a 1946 movie by the title "Stairway To Heaven". Here's a part of the synopsis wirtten on the showtimes.com website: "A World War II RAF pilot who is forced to bail out of his crippled plane without a parachute. He wakes up to find he has landed on Earth utterly unharmed...which wasn't supposed to happen according to the rules of Heaven. A celestial court argues over whether or not to claim Carter's life or to let him survive to wed his American sweetheart." If I were to theorize "anything" based on the plot of the movie, I'd say after Crowley disguised as Aziraphale leaves heaven unharmed by the hellfire heaven is confused but keeps tabs on him, as we see Muriel visiting Aziraphale's shop in the trailer. Remember in the trailer when Aziraphale asks Gabriel why he's come to his shop and Gabriel answers "You know when it's like you don't know anything at all and that you're totally certain that everything would be better if you were near just one particular reason." well it is in my opinion %99 right before the beginning of the sneak peek and the sneak peek begins with "...So anyway, that's how I felt that so long as I came here, that something terrible might not happen to me." It was shown in the trailer as if while Gabriel was giving the before mentioned speech almost Aziraphale was thinking about Crowley - well Gabriel may somehow (coming back to this later) think of Aziraphale the same way by how he felt safe coming to his bookshop.

[Edit: Carter is Gabriel, the American sweetheart is Beelzebub.]

Crowley being Crowley possibly having watched this movie after whatever happens the Blitz between him and Aziraphale, he's gonna spiral to compare the American sweetheart in the Stairway To Heaven (1946) movie to Gabriel. Thus the lashing out.

Oh and Blitz in German means lightning, so this theory could make sense with Crowley producing lightning or Blitz. Not sure about this specific lashing out theory, but I thought I'd just throw it out there.

Moving on!

First screenshot is from the title sequence with two posters "The Fabulous Ladies Of Camelot" written on them. In the latter screenshot we can see the Ladies Of Camelot and one other person standing behind Aziraphale.

In this scene in the title sequence Crowley and Aziraphale on stage - Aziraphale being in his Ladies Of Camelot stage costume. The curtains unveil.

In the title sequence right after the curtains unveil Aziraphale and Crowley fly around each other - which is quite romantic, two hypothetical worlds with a bridge is seen - then the bridge breaks in half and the camera spirals sideways. In the background a type of space phenomenon is seen, which I interpreted with some doubt as a reconstruction by the Good Omens animators/graphic designers of the Hubble Space Telescope's photograph of The Pillars of Creation (Source: NASA). Or it could be a space photograph of something else entirely, but let's entertain this idea.

[Edit: Turns out this specific space phenomenon used in the title sequence is called "Elephant's Trunk Nebula". Pillars of Creation also consist of Elephant's Trunk nebulae, but alas, I was wrong. Thanks to @burbuur for the info!]

If we take this interpretation and make it into a theory, with the bridge between Crowley and Aziraphale's worlds torn, which are heaven and hell, and what bridges these two worlds is death - who can't be killed (or can they?) as we've seen in the first season - with the metaphorical pillars of creation also being present in the scene, death... dies? Or vanishes? And creation gets out of control? Let us examine this theory.

In the title sequence after the scene where Crowley and Aziraphale enter a cave, a delivery man with either grey or white wings can be seen carrying a box (0:10).

Next time we see this exact box is when Crowley and Aziraphale are leading everyone to an old movie theater - the box is reflected on the screen. The only remaining Horseman of the apocalypse - which these boxes were delivered to - is death, so why hasn't it been opened? We saw the winged person carrying the package (presumably after their death, again) but couldn't deliver it maybe? I say not possible, since The International Express Man can deliver anything anywhere anytime, so the reason the package hasn't been opened is because the recipient is either dead or doesn't want to be found.

Then the audience is transported from two dimensional third person perspective to a third dimentional first person perspective, the screen rips and we the audience walk the bridge through statues left and right - on the left side are winged statues with a warm yellow light barely shining on them, on the right side also stands a winged figure, but a colder white-ish/blue-ish light shining brightly on the statue. This imagery of warm and cold is represented in Good Omens as angels and demons. If we take the "everything is falling apart because one of the pillars of creation is gone" arc and apply it to this shot, it can be said that not even heaven and hell and heaven breaks, but the fourth wall breaks as well - which could be what Gabriel was meant to warn Aziraphale about.

Remember the computer and the chair in hell? Who would have a computer and a chair in hell? Well...

Also remember Death playing an arcade game in season one? By their style choices regarding clothing, motorbike and games it seems likely that Death is an old fashioned entity, which suggests that old monitor could also be his. In an unreachable spot, the stones stacked on top of each other barely hanging on the verge of falling apart, no one would bother them. A perfect spot, which is now empty.

Also have to point out something I hadn't realized before, but on the left arcade the player with the highest score is Sir Terry Pratchett and even Death couldn't beat his score. Rest in peace legend.

So Death goes missing. Heaven and hell don't care since they're immortal supernatural beings. To make them care, because he wants war, Gabriel goes to Earth to "warn" Aziraphale.

By his eyes changing color it is safe to assume that his amnesia is controlled by someone or some angels in heaven. Aziraphale and Crowley realize this eventually and lock him up in his own angelic grave.

Angels coming down in their elevators, demons being thrown off into the sky in the shoots, "It's a getting closer" being thrown out in the trailer a lot (newspaper held by Aziraphale and the song playing in the background)... What does all this mean? Well fellow reader, I'm glad you asked. See that tiny little poster?

It's Armageddon vol. 2 baby! (Though it can be argued that this poster is a reference to this being the second season.)

[Edit: I have been informed of what The Second Coming actually is. In the following paragraphs, the mention of "Armageddon vol. 2" should be taken as the Second Coming, as I didn't know what it was and used the nane Armageddon 2 in its place.]

Adam is dead, remember? So who is to stop another armageddon? We know that in the Good Omens universe one can be ressurected (Aziraphale after the birthday party reviving the dove in his pocket) so Satan could have been resurrected by Death themselves, which is why they have been missing. [Edit: Satan isn't dead. He was simply beaten in battle. My bad!]

Gabriel is a messenger angel in Christian theology - so his original purpose could be to warn Aziraphale of Satan's revival [Edit: return] but the amnesia factor plays in this case. How would an amnesiac angel warn them? Well he couldn't, so they keep Gabriel away. Heaven teams up with hell (who have no idea what Gabriel wanted to warn Aziraphale about) to find Gabriel. Which heaven knows exactly where he is, but keeps that knowledge to themselves as to stir up the war. Since Death is gone and no one ever dies anymore, Armageddon vol. 2 would be much more destructive.

Heaven could have much more up their sleeves, such as literally making love rain on humanity. With the world's population rapidly increasing making people fall in love with each other could lead to chaos, since there are too many people to love. Coming back to Gabriel "somehow" feeling safe by Aziraphale, when he arrives at the bookshop his eyes are humanly, which suggests that some angelic knowledge is present in his amnesiac mind, but his body is human. Heaven could have made his human body love and feel comfortable around Aziraphale, but not his mind.

To summarize this theory: Death is gone, population is increasing. Love, which is what makes humanity human, is going to destroy humanist values and bring about the downfall of heaven, hell and earth. A second Armageddon.

I am not trying to sound rude or offensive but I have some questions… I do want to see a family vacation comic where they go to the beach or the aquarium. I think it would be fun to watch and see them bond while seeing them not having to deal with a killer clown.

Okay, not the first inquiry I've gotten about this sorta thing so, just a little blabbing:

So, I'm just gonna throw this out there...neither Vox nor Al are equipped to be parents XD They don't have kids, nor do they have kids around a lot in their lives. Vox is slightly better with them because he deals with them more at work, and he has two nephews. But it doesn't come naturally to either of them. If Drift were any less independent or less desensitized to...all of that, he'd be a mess.

Also, the kid actively doesn't want to see them like parental figures. He's got his own baggage going on.

...Of course, that doesn't mean they can't learn or that they don't try their best. Vox is very overprotective/obsessive. The kid is his now, and nobody touches his things. Al, despite being...Al, doesn't actively wish harm on children, but otherwise he's pretty aloof with them...though now that he knows Vox is attached, he kinda knows better than to think that they aren't truly stuck with him XD He knows his partner too well. It was really only a matter of time. Who know though? Maybe Al will grow attached to him to over time, like he did with Vox.

As for the family comic...I cannot say much, however they're will be plenty of adorable outings in the future. :)

TLDR: Neither of them are paternal or maternal. They are a train wreck. Thankfully, the child knows how to take care of himself XD

Why do I feel like Oscar is intentionally keeping Lando at a distance because he assumes it would never work out? And Lando kind of wishes Oscar would show an interest but he isn't so Lando pulls back too? Maybe I'm totally crazy but feels like they're doing a double fake out. If not then why not just be friendly the way they are with other guys?

gonna put below a cut and include some other asks that aren't necessarily of interest to everyone and are kind of in the same vein (note the tag)

okay so "why not just be friendly like they are with other guys" is a pretty good thing to focus on bc when you actually break it down, Lando and Oscar define themselves as being pretty shy and they conceal a fair amount their lives and closest friends from the public. and truth is that it seems to take both of them at least a year of knowing someone before they open up - and even longer before they're as friendly as we see them with guys like Logan, Zhou, Carlos or Daniel. Lando lists the guys he's known since as far back as karting as his closest friends. so after just one season together, what we already have in terms of friendliness between Lando and Oscar is pretty damn good!

but honestly we can't say that either of them are really holding back at all when we've got Andrea and Zak constantly emphasizing how in sync they are and then of course how big they both show up for each other's wins/poles etc. whatever we don't get in terms of fun fandom content, we've got them showing each other mutual respect and support and sharing the same priorities. that's... really good imo.

it's what cracks me up abt everyone who went all 'planetf1 angry white dad in oakleys selfie in a truck comment section' over that recent Oscar quote. Lando's literally had everyone saying the same thing to him, directly and on social media ?? did they also decide that Martin Brundle, Natalie Pinkham, Lawrence Barretto and Jenson Button all despise Lando and want to take swipes at him by saying that his public flagellation feels of no use and worse, that it's probably a hindrance to his mindset? did Lando suddenly became loathed by all these people who SEEM to openly like or love him bc they said that ??

or did they expect Oscar to respond to that question with "oh no yeah it's cool that my teammate who I actually like shits all over himself and gives his haters ammo y'know to each their own whatever man" bc that WOULD actually be incredibly cold and hurtful asgajsgfljasf

I know fandom can go way off track and start expecting these men to talk like fan fic but the truth is that they view each other as professionals and fellow drivers first and friends (if they are) second. I won't repeat myself bc I've posted about it enough but none of the grid are a significant part of Lando or Oscar's life outside F1. Lando and Martin did a stopover in Perth (and apparently Martin even had work there?) for one day to ride dirt bikes at Daniel's ranch and Lando went to Carlos' sisters' gigantic state wedding lol. doesn't compare at all compared to Lando's time spent with Max F, the quadrant folks, his family, his Monaco friends and definitely not Martin Garrix. it also doesn't mean that they're not still friends with those guys on the grid - it's just not the same.

so the fact that Lando and Oscar aren't out here dishing out bromancey stuff where fans can see and hear definitely doesn't say that those bromances mean the drivers are actually any closer. Oscar relied on extroverts like Robert and Arthur to give him something to play off and Lando relied on Carlos and Daniel for the same. so when they're left without a gobby extrovert they do that cute thing of giggling and handing back and forth to each other. to me personally it's always kind of sweet ?? that Lando and Oscar do the thing of looking at each other for support to get through the cringey and awkward to camera stuff. sometimes when Lando is really feeling himself Oscar can just kick back and watch him. and as we saw w that helmet design video, even when Oscar isn't filming w Lando he hangs around offers support.

wow apparently I cannot stay on track today anon but idk I just personally think that it's the opposite of a mutual fakeout and they've bonded pretty well over both being shy, both being equally focused on their careers and also needing to switch off sometimes. finding out they spent the night after Lando's crash in Vegas together sharing "commiserations" is like, one in a long list of us hearing that they chose to hang out alone together and not publicize it.

all of us are on the outside of their friendship and as much as that suuuuucks for not getting as much content as we want, it's also really sweet and kind more likely to be genuine and lasting since they consider a lot of that relationship as private <3

askgfka no prob!! tbh a lot of the stress and anxiety in other Lando ships is down to ppl getting way too comfy w the idea that real life partners either aren't "real" or that they're the only thing standing in the way of their ship becoming real.

and bc for some reason landoscar makes me want to write all of these essays I feel like it's kind of my responsibility to be like yeah, there's even more than just assuming ppl's sexualities and their real life partners stand between two ppl we like to imagine together actually getting together. rpf is heavy on the f and mostly what we're all actually enjoying are friendships. and as someone who is lucky to have them, I personally wouldn't be one of those ppl who said romantic partners and friendships are on some sliding scale of importance. they're just different!

ever since landoscar became a thing, Lily's been in Oscar's life and Lando's been pursued by every man who sees him and burning through baddies on Raya on a literal global scale. it's important to come back from rpf to that fact so we don't end up attraction those legions of people calling real life girlfriends "PR beards" or that Lando's dating app horniness is some front for him meeting up with Carlos or Daniel or whoever lol.

oh I am so not the person to answer abt this since I can't relate to wanting couples to get married or thinking that it's all that significant! I'm a huge romantic and I theoretically enjoy the idea of weddings/marriage but all the ppl I know who've gotten married out of college are already regretting or cheating it so it's put a real damper on it for me.

but that's as much as I want to speculate abt them bc I don't want to put anything out in the universe for ppl I'll never even know !!

Breaking down that "which actor/singer are you" scene from chapter 4

I was gonna write this after I was done with the whole thing but fuck it. I'm damn proud of it and I want to let all of you in on the layers:

"“I’m just tryna figure out which member of the rat pack you are.” Tommy ponders, using his spoon to gesture in his direction. Sal poses jokingly, before eventually just giving up and pointing at his eyes. “Mmm, too obvious.” Tommy says with a quirk of his eyebrow. “Even ole Blue Eyes has got nothin’ on you in that department.”"

Ok so this is when the options are limited to just the members of the Rat Pack, There's no universally agreed upon list of who was in the Rat Pack, but generally it includes the likes of Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr., and most famously Frank Sinatra, whose nickname was 'Ol' Blue Eyes'. So he's saying Sal's eyes are prettier than the man who is famous for having gorgeous blue eyes. More down bad-ism on display from our dear Tommy Kinard.

So Tommy broadens his sights to classic Hollywood in general.

""Sal knows whatever he’s about to say is gonna be equal parts bitchy and adorable. “Brando.” Tommy nods, sure of himself. “Definitely Brando.” Sal brings one hand under his chin, doing his best smolder.""

So Brando is one of Hollywood's most famous Hound dogs and he was an equal opportunity hound dog. his affairs included Rita Moreno, James Dean (apparently they were like SUPER kinky), Jackie Kennedy, and indeed, legendary comedian Richard Pryor. He was also known for his cocky smoldery attitude. Tommy making this comparison is an indicator that he likes Sal and is super attracted to him, but doesn't really take him seriously as a long term romantic prospect. That list of affairs I mentioned? He was married during most of them.

Another layer to this is that Sal compared himself to Sinatra and Tommy compared him to Brando who notoriously HATED each other. Brando stole the role Sinatra wanted in the movie version of Guys and Dolls. Now funny enough, the role Sinatra ended up having was as a kind of lovable goofy guy who is actually deeply in love with the woman he's with but has strung her along for 14 years because he's too afraid to come out and commit to his own feelings. She ends up pushing him away and breaking up with him because she doesn't believe he's ever going to actually choose her (hmmm now what couple does that remind us of?)

As an aside, I actually think Sal and Tommy have a lot more in common with Brando's character Sky and his love interest Sarah. Sky, like Sal, is a hound dog who is really surprised to find himself in love. Sarah, like Tommy, is a romantic who is really surprised to find herself SUPER turned on and attracted to this guy she knows is wrong for her. But that's not really relevant, so moving on.

So Sal gets all up in his feelings and doesn't object to the Brando comparison. Which could mean nothing....

He turns his thoughts to picking out a comparison for Tommy. His first thought is Cary Grant, but he puts a caveat that it will make more sense when Tommy is older. He specifically singles out the North by Northwest Suit, which is widely considered to be the most perfect suit that has ever been created. This is basically him saying "I think Tommy will age so gracefully he will turn into the epitome of Suaveness."

He also eliminates the idea of Bogart, who was known for his very moody/broody personality. It's a little bit ironic, because back in Chapter 1 when they ran into each other at the wedding, Tommy's mind went immediately to Bogart's most famous broody line. This is Sal not realizing the sheer negativity happening in Tommy's subconscious. He registers Tommy's tenseness, but not necessarily the sadness its masking.

He also disqualifies Clark Gable for being too smarmy. This is honestly just him saying he thinks Tommy's coolness comes from being kind and not from being a cocky asshole.

"He throws out “Peter Lorre.” to buy himself more time. “You dick.” Tommy huffs, tossing a few more pieces of cereal for good measure."

Now this truly broke my heart when I wrote it. So Peter Lorre was famous for playing kind of effeminate gremliny little dudes. He also tends to play characters that kind of cling to the hero of the movie, like an unwanted hanger on. Now for Sal, he says it specifically because the idea of Tommy being like that is so ridiculous. but for Tommy, who has all these hang ups about being the lonely "not anybody's first choice" kind of guy, I think Tommy thinks Sal is being serious on some level.

"Sal smiles when he finds his answer. Sweet, kind, dark haired, beautiful. He runs his tongue over his lips, building up his nerves. “Rock,” He commits, “Rock Hudson.” Tommy tilts his head a little, he seems almost touched. Sal sees a cloud come over Tommy’s face that he wants to physically push away with his hands, but it's just as quickly replaced with a goading smile. “Is that a fucking gay joke?!” Tommy barks."

Ok so firstly, this answer comes to you courtesy of @mannafromtevan who provided the magic ingredient to this scene without even knowing it. Rock Hudson was a dark haired, very sweet, sort of boy next door-y type. This comparison is Sal seeing Tommy's big heart and kind demeanor and telling him so. It's probably the most honest Sal has been about how he feels about Tommy since their relationship began.

So why does Tommy get that dark cloud? Well as we've established if he can interpret things in a doomed/sad way, he will. Rock Hudson was closeted. Most of his fellow actors knew and protected him like Julie Andrews, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor etc. But when the AIDS crisis hit and he contracted the virus, he couldn't really hide it when he got sick.

He was essentially the first well known celebrity to publicly die of AIDS, and so again Tommy hears "doomed queer, never getting a happy ending" over all the other sweet things Sal is trying to say.

In summary, this scene is a big old red flag saying "Hey! you guys are ignoring/not seeing key facets of the other's personality!" and also that Tommy's doom spiral is very much in progress as he keeps latching on to the most negative possible meaning of Sal's words.

ALRIGHT MY AU TIME (WIP)

This is more of a Rex and Watevra-centered Au, mostly because I wanted to explore their dynamic after Rex was abandoned in Undar and proceeded to do everything in the second movie. And how Watevra took her 'dad's absence and presumed death, before meeting him again.

When she does meet him, he is nothing like how everyone described him (cause trauma), so this is also an Au that is letting Rex heal from his past mistreatment with the help of his kid that he tried to hurt in another timeline.

I guess the way this starts off is with Rex being back to the futuring to his timeline. There's gonna be that slight shock like why isn't he dead, but imma make sure he wakes up in the Rexcelsior with his Raptors, so he has that bit of comfort (How? I'll figure that out later) while he deals with the task of wrestling with his emotions from the failure of his revenge and the fact that Lucy actually came.

So, he decides to check out Syspocalypstar (After like maybe a month, he's not emotionally ready to do it immediately), 1. He doesn't really have anything better to do, and 2. He kinda wants to see what it's like considering he 'died' in the other timeline, and he was too caught up in revenge in his to see anything other than when Bianca was playing with his friends.

When he does get there, there's a lot of him just wandering around kind of being repulsed by the bright colors and sparkliness. Eventually, he does come across a statue of him, but it's when he was Emmet, and he gets a lot of mixed feelings seeing this statue. Because 1. It's showing him when he used to be naive and trusted everyone someone he's not anymore, 2. It means they cared enough to actually build it to remember him, and 3. They could've just built it as a might as well kind of thing instead of putting in any actual effort.

So Rex is just kind of frozen there in thought, and who comes along? His kid, Watevra pops in because she wants to visit her dad's memorial since it's the only real 'connection' she has with him outside of the stories and pictures his exfriends have of him.

She notices this dude who sticks out from the crowd a lot (But also there's not really anyone there) because he has the whole tough schtick that does still exist in the peace that came with the two systems coming together, just not at the intensity he's at.

Cue the 'Hey who are you?' Line from Watevra, because she would've remembered someone like Rex if he lived in Syspocalypstar. When they do make eye contact, there's this tension in Rex from having to deal with Watevra (his kid) on his first visit to Syspocalypstar.

Watevra almost instantly feels some kind of connection to this stranger that she just met, there is this bit of one-way conversation before she looks at the statue of her dad and compares it to Rex, seeing the resemblance before coming to the realization that OH, this is her dad.

There's gonna be mostly shock, definitely tears from Watevra as she hugs him, because her dad's not actually dead. Rex is mostly gonna be shocked because this is the first time he's really been hugged in years, but also that's his kid hugging him.

A sequence of Watevra spilling out a bunch of questions at him before they (Rex) decide to go someplace more private to talk since people are staring at their queen hugging a random stranger.

They have a talk with each other, Rex explaining where he was and what he did, and yeah Watevra is a bit surprised that this traumatized mess of a man is the person everyone told her about, but she still sympathizes and accepts him, explaining her side of the story. And Rex is still not ready to face his old friends, but he is willing to build a relationship with Watevra, and that's basically what the whole Au is gonna be about.

NOW this right here is like the first fic in the series that I'm planning to do.

What follows is a bunch of misunderstandings, Rex being hostile to his old friends and mayhem, and a wedding redo to make up for the rushed one five years ago, and this time Watevra's dad is actually here.

So yeah, I'm good to answer any questions anybody has about this Au, would love to be able to ramble about it some more. It's still in the early development stages, but I'm hoping to actually start writing it once I get my Undar fic out.

Samwise Gamgee and elf reader made me cry deeply inside at the fluff and I don’t know how else to satiate this need, except to please request more fluffy (maybe smutty) writings on their happily ever after. Especially since I believe eventually Sam must too go to the undying lands since he held the ring after Frodo was paralyzed? (In the books at least?). Does his elf wife give him a big bunch of kids? Or are they a small family with one or two? Gotta know about those half elf half hobbit babies.

Once you first move to the Shire with him, Sam gives you as much time as you need to settle in before he starts bombarding you with anything.

He more than happily shows you around and introduces you to everybody (the introductions may or may not come at a party that Merry and Pippin may or may not have organized in secret).

Once you are fully settled and happy, Sam is quick to propose to you. It isn't a huge busy affair, just a simple romantic evening together, and he proposes as you watch the sunset.

Obviously you say yes.

The wedding planning is not something either of you are particularly fussy about, so if there's a really particular thing you'd like then he's fine with it.

Most, if not all, of the Shire is invited to celebrate, along with a few close friends from further lands. The remainder of the Fellowship is present, who cheer by far the loudest when the two of you kiss, along with Arwen, Faramir and Eowyn.

Sam just about feels his heart stop beating when you tell him you are pregnant for the first time.

Cue a mild sequence of panic and many gentle reassurances from you.

The pregnancy is not easy by any means, but it is certainly nothing to panic over and you have very few complications, and soon enough you give birth to a wonderful baby girl.

Her hair is light and curly, just like her father's, and the tips of her little ears come to a point - an indication that she was definitely half elf.

At your suggestion, which Sam enthusiastically agrees to, you name her Lily.

You end up having four more children over the years - two boys and twin girls. They are all a handful to deal with sometimes, but Merry and Pippin are the best uncles ever, and will happily spend a day with them to give you and Sam a break.

Because of how tall you are compared to them, be prepared for your children to just start climbing you at any given moment.

You watch, hand in hand with Sam, as they grow up in front of you, and you watch as your husband begins aging too.

Wrinkles begin to form on his skin, his joints begin to ache, and you fear his mind is not as sharp over time as it once was.

You begin to prepare. Many years ago you had consulted with Arwen and Legolas about this eventuality, and had it all planned out.

So when all your children have grown up and started their own lives, and Sam tells you he fears it is his time to go, you simply smile softly.

You have explained to your children already, and while they are sad that the both of you are leaving, they understand and promise to take care of each other.

You take Sam back to Rivendell, where he had asked you to stay so long ago, and find a boat waiting for you.

His hand over yours, he murmurs "Where... where are we my dear?"

"Do not worry, my love. We are going to join my kin."

And with that, you board the boat, and sail to the Undying Lands with your husband.

Constantly- Jesper Fahey x gn! reader

Okay! This is a rare fic of mine that sort of follows post-ck canon and I think it’s a pretty good foothold for the Spring Break Fic-Athon. A lot of my fics will have hurt/comfort and then fluffy undertones and with this event, general feelings of contentment accidentally became a running theme lol. 

Fic type- this is mostly fluff! I love domesticity and my love for it is definitely communicated through this fic lol

You grinned as you woke, finding yourself in the Henley that Jesper had worn the day before. You paused, waiting to either hear the sound of Jespers voice as he hummed or the sound of rain pelleting against your window. 

It was much to your delight that you heard both, the rain gently smattering against the window in typical Ketterdam fashion combined with Jesper as he spoke, the words having been ones that you couldn’t quite make out. 

You got up, pulling on a thin flannel that you’d purchased on a vacation to Novyi Zem in the years before, pulling on a different pair of sweatpants to the ones you’d gone to bed in for a bit more warmth without having to touch the heater. 

You proceeded down the steps of the home you’d bought in the Financial District, headed to the left and found yourself standing in the kitchen, silently watching Jesper and Colm as they talked. 

“Yeah, it’s been great,” Jesper said. “Married life, I mean. I could get used to this. I think I already have.” 

“Marriage isn’t for everyone, but everyone who it’s for finds it incredible,” Colm said with a smile. “Coffee on Saturdays, lazing about on Sundays. Knowing that you’re with someone who you love, someone who your heart never wants to let go of, it’s one of the best feelings out there, Jesper.” 

You proceeded in, wrapped your arms around Jespers shoulders for a moment, grinning as he pressed a kiss to your cheek. 

“Morning, love,” he said. 

“Hey,” you responded, grabbing a mug and feeling grateful that hot coffee had already been brewing on the pot. “Sorry I slept in.” 

“Wanted to surprise you with breakfast, so you’re fine,” Jesper said. “Da popped in for a visit. He’s staying at the Geldrenner this week. Told me he’s looking to close on a farm in the countryside, though he won’t tell with whom it is he’s making a deal.”

You shot Colm a knowing look. “Kaz Brekker?” 

Colm laughed incredulously. “How the fuck did you know?” 

You shrugged as you poured the coffee into your mug, topped off Colms. “You’re not the kind of guy who appreciates the criminal deal, but you don’t see Kaz as a criminal,” you said. 

“You, in spite of everything you witnessed back in the days of the Ice Court, think of him as a semi-legitimate businessman. Kaz probably found out when he overheard Jesper and I talking, or Inej heard and told him, that you were looking to buy a piece of farmland either with a house attached or one cheap enough that you could build one on the acreage. He’s definitely bought off a decently priced piece of land and has probably offered it to you at a rate that you can afford, or that Jesper and I can afford should you not be able to. Kaz is exactly what Matthias used to compare him to. A demon.” 

Colm laughed again. “You compare your own friend to a demon?”

“He is one,” you laughed. “He’s a demon who cares very begrudgingly, but he cares even still. Why do you want a piece of farmland in Ketterdam, anyway?”

“I was gonna buy it for you folks, as a wedding gift,” Colm said. “I am going to. I know it’s been three weeks since you got married, but you and Jesper talked about living off of the money you’d make from farming in the Geldrenner during the Ice Court days. Don’t know if it’s still your dream, but there ain’t no house on that property and I’m sure Kaz wouldn’t hate you if you sold it back to him.” 

Jesper met your gaze as you took a sip of coffee. “Still your dream, love?”

You laughed. “Of course. Still yours?” 

Jesper nodded. “I’d go anywhere with you. Yeah.” 

“Well, building a house will take two years, at minimum. Are you sure you can handle that?” Colm asked. “Do you have the finances?” 

“We split our Ice Court money to finance this, and Kaz has put us in on a few heists with payouts in the millions in the years since, so I think we’ll manage,” Jesper grinned. “We’ll adopt a few farm cats. Cats make good mousers, and they’re not too difficult to feed.” 

You grinned, pressed a kiss to Jespers cheekbone and tried not to let the contentment you felt grow overwhelming. 

You and Jesper had long discussed it, the idea of buying a plot of land and living off of it. You could grow wheat, turn that it into flour and sell it to bakeries. You could grow fruits to sell them at the markets. With the right plot of land, you could open a vineyard and have wine, bourbon, and kvas to sell to Kaz so that locally made alcohol filled the bottles that were then poured at the Slat and at the Crow Club. It was an idea that both of you liked, an idea that both of you had agreed to look into after your wedding.

It seemed Colm had beaten you to the idea, though. 

“Thanks, Da,” Jesper said. “Thank you so much. We appreciate this endlessly, and we’ll pay you back for it.”

“It’s a wedding gift!” Colm said. “No, you won’t pay me back for a fucking wedding gift, Jesper. I love you, and that’s why I’m doing this. I’m gonna finish my coffee, close a deal, and then have Kaz reach out to you with the location of the acreage I purchased.” 

You and Jesper both laughed at Colms insistence. “Thank you,” you said.

Colm shook his head. “You’re family, and if you want to retire in your twenties, like you are now, you feel free. I would’ve if I had the chance.” 

You took a sip of your coffee, let yourself feel true happiness. You had the life you wanted after so much time spent chasing it. It felt so good to be able to say that, and damn if you were going to enjoy it.

The farmhouse had taken three years to be move-in ready, but, six years since Colm had bought you the land, as you stood in your own backyard with Nina, sipping water and trying to ignore the feeling of contentment as it built in your heart, you had to agree that it was worth it. Wylan was playing the flute, and you were drinking water outside as Jesper and Kaz talked with Inej and Hanne. 

“So, Ketterdam again, hm?” You asked. Nina laughed. 

“Missed it too much, and Hanne gets it. We’ll be long distance for a few months, but I--I missed the salt in the air.”

“And you totally didn’t miss a flute playing demo man, or a wraith, or a sharpshooter, or a very intimidating guy with a very terrible haircut, or even a certain person who’s an expert with a crossbow?” 

“I missed you guys too,” Nina laughed. “A lot, actually. If I have to hear about one more milestone through a letter I’ll stab someone, I fear. Speaking of milestones, hows the baby?” 

The baby who was upstairs, fast asleep. Aditi Inej Fahey, named for Jespers mother and the best friend you’d known since you were seventeen years old. 

“She sleeps all the fucking time. It’s insane. Jesper and I think the universe is trying to trick us into having a second kid,” you laughed. “We’ve agreed not to, but on the basis that we might get two babies who sleep all the time, we’ve been tempted.” 

“Kaz and Inej dealt with the same thing,” Nina laughed. “Oh, I’m glad they didn’t have another mini-Brekker, but imagine the chaos if they had. Kaz would have taught the kid how to pay their bills before they could talk.” 

You laughed, and not long thereafter, Kaz and Jesper joined your conversation where Inej and Hanne went to talk to Wylan. 

“I quite like the life we’ve got,” Jesper said. “It’s fucking perfect.” 

Kaz nodded his agreement. “When you least expect it, you turn around and suddenly, it feels like life is wonderful.”

You grinned. “So you don’t hate your house in the Financial District, then?”

Kaz shrugged. “It’s close enough to the Slat and the Crow Club. I work from home a lot now, too, so no. I hate it considerably less than I thought I would.” 

Jesper laughed. “Yeah. Soon enough, you’ll be buying a plot of land, building a house on it, and moving in. Farming brings in good money, and these houses are perfect for summer. The fields are good for get-togethers and vow-renewals, as has become apparent.” 

Kaz shrugged. “I would live on a big plot of land, sure, but I wouldn’t use that for farming. Big machines around can lead to fatal accidents, so I would rather not. Good for a walk, though, maybe a few strawberry bushes.”

“Strawberries are perfect in summer,” you nodded. “Get them onto a stove with some sugar and they make an excellent jam or syrup. Blueberries too.”

“Inej has tricked me into eating homemade jam. Pretty good stuff, honestly.” 

The conversation continued, and one by one, your friends left. First, it’d been Inej and Kaz, gone home to make sure that the Slat didn’t devolve into chaos and to see that Colm wasn’t too tired after he’d offered to babysit. Then it was Wylan, leaving with hugs and promises to meet up for breakfast in the following weeks. Nina and Hanne left last, exiting with kisses pressed to cheeks and tellings of excitement for Ninas return to Ketterdam.

Just like that, you and Jesper were alone in your house again, folding laundry and humming and mentioning bringing the flour that you’d gotten from the wheat and the kvas that you’d gotten from it, into the city. It was summer, and you would return to the city once more with the start of autumn. Seeing Kaz and Inej would grow frequent as you once again became bigger players and got decent paychecks from more than just the farming. 

You would laugh at Jespers jokes and have dinners with him, Inej, and Kaz. You would bond over how it’d begun to feel as though time was flying by, how it’d felt like that for the better part of a decade.

But, in that moment, as Jesper offered you his hand and you took it, as you danced in the light of the candle you’d lit on your coffee table, you found that you were so excited for life to keep on going, because it kept on going with Jesper. It kept on going with your friends, the people who made life worth it, the ones who’d mattered to you then and would always matter.

Jesper pressed his forehead against yours. “I will love you until I am rendered incapable of doing so,” Jesper whispered. “I love you constantly.” 

You grinned as Jespers arms wrapped around your waist, as yours rested on his shoulders, and your lips met, your response being communicated in just that kiss. 

Jesper loved you constantly, and in return, you loved him the same. You always would.

Aemond’s eye slid from Daenera to Gwayne, lingering on his uncle with a simmering edge–remembering his mother’s words–before he forced out a deceptively soft, “But of course…”

Thus Aemond “Whipped and the Simp” Targaryen was born.

And the thing I can imagine the little stunt with the salt and her dancing with Gwayne isnt nothing compared what she has stored for him.

This is only the beginning of the torture that Dae is going to set upon him and knowing Aemond he is just gonna take it because he loves her too damned much to want to lose her.

This chapter literally reminded of Aemond before he lost his eye. The way he reacted on her walking down the aisle. Him knowing that she is pissed as hell tries to make her comfortable by saying she is beautiful but Dae didnt care. Plus Aegon trying to humiliate them both.

The shades of the shy, awkward and timid Aemond came back in this chapter and its because of Daenera because she is the only one where he doesnt have to act all tough and makes him feel human. Hopefully we get more moments were again we get that shy/awkward Aemond and Dae cant just help it and smile. I bet that the Aemond she had a crush on before everything went to shit on Driftmark.

ALSO, the moment with Jaehaerys 😍😍😍😍 he gave her his toy. This is going to come back to haunt us on B&C😪💔 hopefully we get a scene of Aemond&Dae taking care of the twins. But man the part were he said basically “Father said you finally get to ride a dragon” 🫣🤭🫢

Cant wait for the new chapter plus the smut. I know Aemond is riled up because of the speech plus him being jealous of Gwayne. I just imaginer their wedding night plus the AU version👀

Alicent put a target on Gwayne's back with her whole comment, and Gwayne only makes it bigger by giving Daenera a flower and whisking her off to dance--something Aemond really wanted to do with her.

Daenera has a few things up her sleeve, but generally she's just going to try and make him miserable by being mean, dismissive and just totally ignoring him. The salt thing was both for her own amusement and a warning to him of how easily she could take him out. And Gwayne, well, he proves to be a useful tool getting under Aemond's skin. It might not have been what she initially thought, but seeing him react to Gwayne definitely made Daenera take a mental note of it.

Daenera will have some fun torturing him--but desire is a double edged sword and a slippery slope into feeling things she does not want to feel, so she has to be careful--but that is only after she's got some of her simmering rage out.

We know there's still some of that boy left inside of him. And I think it's something that is really hard to extinguish, and so he hides it beneath his mask. But as we saw, the mask can slip and it can crack. As much as other people see him as a monster, as much as he himself thinks of him as a monster or Daenera thinks him as that, he's till got that tether of humanity within him and it's distinctly tethered to his love for Daenera. If it wasn't for her, we'd have what we have in the show. And no matter what he does, as long as he loves her, he'll have some ounce of humanity in him--he'd have that boy with the stars in his eyes in him, and the weakness of it. As much as he wants to be invulnerable, he can't make himself cut that last thread of humanity, that love for her, (by killing her). He just cant.

I always like to involve the twins more because I feel like B&C would have had more of an impact if we had been with them for a while, and we had gotten to see them grow or how they are. So, like, I wanted Jaehaerys to be this boisterous boy, like his father, who dreams about being a knight and idolizes knights. And Jaehaera is quieter but loves romantic stories of princesses and knights. She likes to play with her dolls and she loves reading--more like having someone reading to her. Maelor is still a fat, blubbering baby, but he's there.

And I do have a scene planned with the children, Daenera, Helaena, and Aemond... ;)

I look forward to write the smut, it's been soooo long since I've done it tho.

What are your thoughts on the purpose of showing the fight with the director cousin? Like... was it just to set up existing tension between them before what will go down at the club or revealing something about semi's character or what?

actually i think that storytelling choice 's a mix of jang semi backstory + plot table setting. find the rest under the cut, caps included~ ^^

no one can ever forget the 10min long confession scene, right? sprinkled into that is our first introduction to semi's background: still has a dad but basically raised around by her relatives.

doyi was trying to rationalize semi's love as mommy issues which our girlie refutes.

the mother* semi refers to is, as it turns out, her maternal aunt. (koreans call their relatives different depending on whose side of the family they are from, that's how i know.)

and this aunt of hers is the mom of her director cousin, junam.

the way she has him listed in her contact can be read two ways: nam-i as in a nickname or 남 as in stranger. i'd like to think it's the former.

the subs was saying 'only cousin' but what i hear is him emphasizing the younger sibling aspect more to his semi noona.

this circles back to the petty fight that happened.

semi starts but he has a Lot of misgivings: about how semi looks down on his family, about how semi looks down at him, too. just all-around disrespectfully cutting her off when it's supposed to be a family conversation.

the subs go a lil' wonky here going back and forth but clearly it's still semi's aunt that's being referred to as her step/mom...

y'know this is funny in the context of what her and chigang were talking about last time... they had the traditional big wedding as they're the first marriage on both sides.
