q!Quackity Character Analysis

After the wedding yesterday, I was pondering and you know, q!Quackity is a very tragic character so far. Rewatch Quackity's VOD perspective of Festa Junina and you'll find this quote:

"Maybe just like Sofia, I've got to relearn the process of love too." (Quackity Marries Wilbur in the QSMP, June 11 2023, 1:37:55).

Since the beginning of the server, he hasn't had someone he can let his guard down around until Tilin (and later other eggs). When Tilin died, he lost one of his strongest connections, one that is incomparable to ones formed after. Whereas q!Wilbur has been physically distanced from people of the server, to me q!Quackity is emotionally distanced from people. During Festa Junina when he was looking out at his friends partying, you can feel that loneliness. It seems that his bits and schemes to intervene in other people relations thus far has been hidden call for help or connection.

Yesterday (June 16th, 2023), this became apparent when he was dragged off by Cucurucho after blowing up part of guapoduo's wedding venue. Nobody but Jaiden had noticed his initial departure, and after teleporting to the Federation's office he potentially died alone (unconfirmed because he was only kicked, so it could be a Felps/Cellbit scenario).

His descriptions of what friendship, love, and death feels like upon first meeting Sofia show he has been through a lot thus far. Here are those descriptions from the VOD "Quackity Takes Care of Tallulah While Being Followed" from June 8th, 2023:

"Love is a compilation of, probably, any and all emotions that a human being can feel in their lives, because love can be good, it can be bad, it can be hurtful, it can be joyful. Love is a compilation of all feelings a human will feel in their lifetime" (2:26:50).

"Death is not only when an entity ceases to exist anymore. Death is also another compilation of emotions, usually negative ones. It goes hand-in-hand with love because when someone that you love dies, (and) they cease to exist you start a grieving process. You miss them, you want them to come back, but it's the acceptance that something is gone forever" (2:29:03).

"Friends are people you are around, people that you enjoy speaking to, it's people that mean something to you...These are my friends. They just might seem like people to you, and to some people they are just people, but to me since I got to know them, since I got to hang out with them, they are my friends. They mean more to me more than another human being that I may see on the streets. That is a friend" (2:30:47).

So when Quackity says, "I need to explore other feelings I have right now", although relating to Wilbur in the context of saying this to Tallulah, I think it might also be the cultivation of him managing the grief from losing Tilin, seeking out deeper friendships in those around him, and wanting to trust in others again.

So TLDR: Despite q!Quackity's schemes and bits every now and then, there is a deeper pain residing in his character. I hope that with several other characters concerned about his current wellbeing he can learn to love again (if it truly wasn't his "final day").

(Sidebar: Although people have been saying tntduo should marry soon, I don't think he's ready to dawn someone else's feelings yet. He needs to be able to trust others again, and that's a process that will take time and care.)

it’s Stupid Hours (aka way too early in the morning) and after 0.2 seconds of searching on YouTube ive come to the conclusion that there is no qsmp John Mulaney “The One Thing” animatic yet and ive gotta say guys. im disappointed.(/lh) im so used to every fandom having at least one The One Thing animatic that realizing there isn’t one for qsmp is bonkers to me. i’ve watched so many of these over the years that if you played The One Thing audio, i could probably recite it in time w the audio (i won’t say from memory bc my memory is shit.)

anyway here’s what i would personally do for a The One Thing animatic if i could draw. remember that this is gonna be skewed to the POVs im more familiar with so im sorry if your cubito doesn’t make it into the role you’d expect. i tried to include as many people as possible.

Edit: "Back in high school..." - not really necessary, but i imagine this story/"AU" taking place during the egg disappearance, which would explain the overly chaotic behavior of the islanders. not that they ever need a reason to be chaotic.

Narrator - Charlie. he’s not on the server as often but bc of that he would make a good “outside” pov narrator. also he’s just a got a really quick-with-it type of humor, cracking jokes and puns and doing wordplay/inprov’d songs at the drop of a hat, and he also loves telling stories.

Mr. Macnimara - Cucurucho. “And Mr. Macnimara was an asshole.” need i say more?

Jake Macnimara - Jaiden. beloved bird of the Federation, though that absolutely would not stop her from throwing a wild party for her friends in their offices if she could. Edit: also Quackity would make a really good option here. Cringefail man that the Federation likes to toy with, we love to see it. Also with his shit luck it makes sense that a party that he decides to host at the Fed offices (a bad idea in the first place tbf) would blow up in his face so hard.

(Bonus: Mrs. Macnimara - the Duck. the Watcher. ElQuackity. idk who’s funnier just whoever your heart desires.)

“And we all got up individually and thought: okay, let’s go over there, and destroy the place.” - split screen of Cellbit, Baghera, Maxo, and Bad. there could be more, like Mike, Etoiles, Phil, Tubbo, really anyone who hates the Federation and/or has an affinity for chaos. Foolish would be a really fucking funny option for this one because yeah he works for the Feds but He Absolutely Would. all of the characters would get up calmly, and on the word “destroy” flip to a Chaos Mode Engaged expression (Cellbit with a grin and bloodstains on his cheeks, Baghera w flames behind her and in her eyes, etc etc)

“People were drinking like it was the civil war and a doctor was coming to saw our legs off” - Tubbo and his backpack of 3749588383 chainsaws. tazerraft could also be a good option considering Pac’s love of beheading people and Mike’s generally unhinged behavior. tbh just anyone/everyone in morning crew.

Person who breaks the pool table - Etoiles. someone would dare him to and he’d get so fucking excited he would absolutely HURL himself at that pool table. (dogboy behavior)

Person who takes a shit on the computer - … look ive been blankly staring at this one for like 7 fucking minutes. my heart says Aypierre but i could not tell you why. just. anyone who would absolutely do some rancid, unhinged shit when given the opportunity. Foolish again maybe. idk.

Edit: "Something something, police." - Jaiden, if she isn't Jake Macnimara. She would totally say it in a "LOL UH-OH" manner. If not, I could also imagine Missa, Bagi, or Fit nervously/bluntly trying to warn people while laughing.

“Fuck da police!” - “Fuck da Feds!”/“Fuck da Federation!” from what i can tell, Charlie doesn’t have an active animosity towards the Federation, but a lot of his friends do, and he will do anything, ANYTHING to commit to the bit. he will do ANYTHING for the funnies, and if he thinks that shouting “Fuck da Feds!” at the top of his lungs is going to get a reaction out of people, he absolutely will.

Edit: "'I served my nickel, you come and take me!' confidence." - Mike. I have such a strong mental image of Mike drunkenly shouting this while Pac and Fit hold him up/hold him back. Fuga references my beloved. Also the fact that he was put in a Fed freezer for a while.

The Police - the Federation workers. obviously. bonus points for one unnamed guard/officer being impressed like “wooooow :0” and then widening the shot to reveal an unamused Agent 18 standing next to them, leaning into his walkie talkie saying, “Get the paddy wagon.”

“SCATTER!” - Phil. (if you know you know.) generally, people who don’t know Phil tend to think he’s pretty chill, so no one would expect him to do something like that. also when Charlie says “And my friend John—” it would cut to a ‘pause screen’ over the scene, Charlie coming on screen to clarify the “father” and “baby” parts by providing helpful pop-up images of family pictures with Chayanne, Tallulah, and Missa on screen. Resumes, presses play and the screen clears: “He grabbed a 40…”

Edit: "Until, two years later..." - again, not really necessary, but it could be something like, "Until, after Purgatory..."

Alex (guy who stole the photos) - Roier. HEAR ME OUT. Roier, similar to Phil, is just such an unassuming guy. he’s cheery and laughs a lot and cracks jokes, but deep down, he’s smart and he’s got a burning HATRED for the Federation. he’s not the kind of guy to start fights, but with everyone else causing chaos at the party, breaking shit in the offices/house, he would absolutely take the opportunity to steal Federation documents for his husband’s investigations. (or antique photos, if you want to keep with the high school setting/theme.) i mean he stole a fucking lamp from their offices once just because there was so much shit going on and he knew the Feds probably wouldn’t notice (iirc).

Edit: SOMETHING I FORGOT TO MENTION ABOUT ROIER. you could totally make the line “because it’s the one thing you can’t replace” a reflection of Bobby, who the Federation ‘killed’, so now he’s getting back at them. (i’ve put way too much thought into this.)

Kalim and Jamil are kinda like Aladdin and Jasmine...

So. Did you know. That the og Aladdin from 1992, has 2 sequels? I didn't know either until resently. So I had the BRIGHT IDEA to watch them all. SO. I rewatched Aladdin 1992, then it's sequels, Return of Jafar, and King of Thieves. While in this ''marathon'' I noticed something, that our favorite Scarabia duo resemble some of the characters and no I'm not talking about Jafar and the Sultan. I'll admit they're some resemblences obvi but I'll get into later. So here I am talking about how Jamil and Kalim remind me of Jasmine and Aladdin because I'm having a JamiKali brainrot and this is how I'm getting over it.

Also Spoiler Warning for all 3 movies (Plus book 4)! Go watch them if you want but spoiler alert Return of Jafar and King of Thieves both look AWFUL compared to the original I'm not kidding the budget went down SUFFIENTLY. Quick google search told me this:

Aladdin: 28 million USD

Return of Jafar: 5 million USD

King of Thieves: 3.5 million USD

Anyways with that small vent outta the way let's get into it.

-Jamil and Jasmine:

Look at me comparing the servent with the princess, the irony imma right? Anyway. So it is true that Jamil and Jafar have more similarities then Jamil and Jasmine but I don't really like resonating Jamil with Jafar cause Jafar (warning mention of gross shit) KISSED AND SEXUALISED A MINOR BY MAKING HER WEAR THIS?!?!

And now whenver I think of Jafar I think of this. Disgusting. I'm not putting Jamil at his level NOPE. Moving on from that shit.

So back to Jasmine and Jamil the main similarity inbetween the 2 I see is they both have a similar goal.

They both wish to be free.

Jasmine's main conflict in this movie is her not wanting to be a part of the steriotypical princess life. Her father wants her to marry a prince and sends suitors her way all the time, despite her rejecting all of them. She says herself that she doesn't want to marry some self-absorbed prince who only cares about money and sees her as an object of marriage. She wants to marry for love. Not only that she also just wants to be able to leave the palace for once as she never has, she wants to make real friends, as she never had one. This is what leads up to the desicion of running away. She escaped the palace and was planning on not returning, but then, she meets Aladdin who is captured by some guards because of Jafar's orders and to save him, reveals herself as the princess, forcing her to go back to the palace.

Jamil is in a similar boat. The main reason for his overblot in Book 4 is that he is fed up with having to dim himself down just for Kalim's sake. Always being second best cause he needs to let Kalim shine. He also wants to be able to make his own desicions. He wants to not have to listen to his parents who presured him into this in the first place. He doesn't want to have to do everything Kalim wants/says. He wants to travel around and see a Whole New World (hehehhehehehe). While their goals are somewhat different, they both collided into the same general concept. Wanting to be free.

And then there's a ''A Whole New World''. A song about basically just following your heart, leaving your confinments, and experiencing a ''whole new world'', aka a life of freedom and being able to decide/make choices for yourself. For Jamil, leaving his status as servant and traveling all over the world, and for Jasmine, marrying someone for love and not being seen as an object. (There is also ''Speechless'' from the live action but we aren't talking about that one so-)

-Kalim and Aladdin:

So for these's two there is less but something none the less. For Kalim and the Sultan, the main similarities I see are them both being oblivious go happy people and terrible judges of character despite saying otherwise!/hj (But fr they both share the same line of ,''I'm an incredible judge of character!'', at some point in their stories)

Now moving on to Aladdin the man himself. The main thing I could find in relation with these 2 were their generally kind hearts.

In the end of Aladdin (1992), Aladdin has the right for one final wish and Genie encouranges him to use it on making him a prince again so he can marry Jasmine. Stating that he will ''Never find another girl like her'', and Genie is ready to be sealed away again back in lamp. But Aladdin decides to wish for Genie's freedom instead (also since he promised him at the beginning of the movie when he first found him). Genie is overjoyed and hugs all of them. This also makes the Sultan reliese how good of a person Aladdin is despite lying for half this movie and gets rid of the rule that a princess must marry a prince (And makes me wonder why he didn't do this before but whatever).

There is also the beginning of Return of Jafar where Aladdin finds some thieves trying to steal some treasure from a temple. Aladdin defeats them and takes the gold himself. But instead of keeping it he gives it to all the poor people in Agrabah who need it more then him.

Now go ahead and tell me Kalim isn't as kindhearted as Aladdin if not MORE. Go ahead I'll wait.

Kalim helps everyone around him. No matter who they may be or their status. A good example of this is in his sport vignette.

Kalim sees Ortho all by himself. When he asks what's wrong, Ortho says Idia promised to play with him but got busy cause his game got an event update and he is in hardcore gamer mode. Kalim agrees to play with Ortho instead despite starving from coming out of PE.

And that made me smile like an idiot so here :)

Someone Hurt Sammy Lawrence

And I want to talk about it

This is long and I'm so sorry but please hear me out

Someone in the studio hurt Sammy back when he was alive, and proof of this lies in his lines in chapter five. To quote specifically:

"BETRAYED... ABANDONED!!

I trusted you! I gave you everything!

And you left me to rot! Why... WHY?!"

This is a complete tone shift from chapter 2, where he was mostly apathetic to Henry, aside from acknowledging he looked familiar, before brushing it off. He seems now to recognize Henry, though this doesn't make sense.

If they had strictly the relationship of colleagues before, it wouldn't make sense why Sammy was so emotionally charged, or so passionate in trying to hurt Henry, even after being left in chapter 2, it doesn't make sense. He doesn't seem to have lost anything, aside from a few searchers and one 'life', but I don't think that would warrent this kind of response.

It would all make far more sense though, if Henry and Sammy had some sort of relationship before, one damaged by Henry when he left.

But this doesn't make sense. It doesn't explain any of his complaints.

According to Dreams Come To Life, Henry had left long before Buddy joined. And it wasn't until around when Buddy joined that Sammy started acting out, and drinking the ink, and eventually going missing. If I'm reading The Illusion Of Living right, he had left before Sammy even got there. And even if we suspended disbelief, a colleague, a friend even, quitting their job doesn't explain any part of what he's screaming out at him very well.

But, what would, is if Sammy has Henry mistaken for Joey.

Every part makes sense.

- Sammy was likely betrayed by Joey when Joey had eventually found out what he had become, and did nothing to help him

- Sammy was abandoned by Joey when he went missing, and Joey did nothing to fix or help him, and instead just left him there

- Sammy gave Joey so much of his time and so much of his sanity just to write songs for him for the cartoons

- Sammy was left by Joey to rot away in the studio in his inky body for the rest of eternity once he had turned

And so, I believe that when Sammy seems to recognize Henry in chapter five, he mistook him for Joey.

Her and Mamo was chased on the rooftops of Toyko while yall was eating.

These past 11 episodes yall haven't done nothing but get thrown around while her and Mamo had done heavy lifting along with Har/Mic trying to find the tailsmans.

She defeats the Youma, Subvillian, and Big Bad by herself.

When it's a big bad yall are either dead or knocked out and she's by herself.

Let's do the run down of each season finale real quick.

Sailor Moon Classic

1. Gets killed individually by DD girls which leaves Usa alone to face Beryl.. Comes back as ghost to give Usa energy to defeat Metallia. ( Not really Alone) 

Sailor Moon R

2.  Actively participates in the battle along with Mamoru and Chibiusa which they gives Usa energy. ( Almost the same set-up in the R movie and Usagi is not Alone)

Sailor Moon S ( Spoilers lol )

 3. Creates a barrier around the school ( which supposed to have been the outer jobs since they were the strongest) and gets beaten up badly by the death busters to brink of unconsciousness. Gives their energy to Usagi so she get turn into Super SM to save Saturn after she gives the Holy Gail to M9 thinking it was Hotaru.( Usagi pretty much goes alone since a big hand takes her.) 

Sailor Moon SuperS

4.  Become unconscious after the Usagi and Chibiusa use the power of the Golden Crystal as a Sprit Bomb as Usagi went to save Chibs from Nehellenia.( Usagi is alone)

Sailor Moon StarS

5. Gets killed by Galaxia in one big blast while the outers betray Usa and kill Pluto and Saturn only for it to be a rouge before they die. The Starlights just stand there while she battles and then saves Galaxia.

In one of the season finale out of five yall were actually there in the finale battle actively participating in her defeating a big bad and not unconscious or dead.

But you want to say she thinks she can do everything by herself when she pretty much DOES everything by herself.

Yall want more numbers to prove this more? Here are Sailor Moon Classic numbers.

Yall get a full point if they defeat a Youma by yourselves and get a half a point if they defeat one together.  

I could have threw in Usagi destroying Beryl but she would have gotten an whole point since she was still alive and they would have gotten an half of point since yall was dead.
