Round 3 Has Finished!

You all may not realize this, but I read the tags in every reblog. I get quite a bit of joy out of people freaking out over two of their favorites being put against each other. And there will only be more as the rounds continue to progress.

An important note I would like to remind you all of is that this tournament is just for fun. There are no real world consequences regarding which vocals win or lose. I understand being passionate, but please be civil and understanding with choices that have been made by both me and other voters.

That means I erase anything that would be on the other side. VY1 was actually the worst to try editing due to all the small colors, my vision would be messed up for a bit afterwards. I am personally glad I never have to edit that image again.

Kasane Teto (65.2%)

GUMI (69.8%) - I actually expected this to be much closer. Both vocals are quite popular after all.

MEIKA Mikoto (59.6%)

Utatane Piko (51.7%) - For a vocal that has never been updated past V2 and I think sold relatively poorly, Piko really does have a lot of fans. Yukari actually lost.

Dear English fans,

Utatane Piko and SF-A2 Miki are NOT siblings!

Here’s what I mean:

(I just discovered this misinformation spread because of an old talkloid shitpost on YouTube and I’m responding to this from the perspective of the Japanese fandom. These two are not well known overseas but on Nico Nico Douga, 9 times out of 10, they’re often shipped together. Gobou-P and Mahiruno-P are great examples. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with it; it’s a cute headcannon for them to be brother and sister, but it’s typically unusual. Allow me to explain for the sake of my talkloid series and in general.)

Yes, Utatane Piko and SF-A2 Miki were owned initially by the same company called HEARTFAST back in 2008-2009. This company went bankrupt and the site no longer exists. That much is true.

Miku and Luka are siblings in the sense that they’re both from Crypton and were also originally meant to be counterparts, but those two are completely different and are not “blood related”.

Miki’s quality took a hit from the lack of funding hence her infamous pitching (ta, wa, etc.) and volume issues (soft a, i, loud o, e), even though at the time she had a wider range than Miku and was among one of the most realistic banks. I think Miki tuners should take pride; because if you can tune her, then it’s very worth it and it makes using newer banks feel like cakewalk.

Piko got luckier with quality but he also suffers some phoneme clipping issues, like the N\ squeak or his dampened “da” and “ga”.

It was an awful shame they got split up and overshadowed by other releases. I don’t know if we could petition AHS to purchase Piko from Sony today but we could try. His provider is still active and well, and survived a kidney transplant thanks to his mother.

The Voice Providers:

Miki Furukawa from the band Supercar and later LAMA is from Hachinohe in Aomori Prefecture. (That’s in northern Japan just under the shores of Hokkaido.) She was born February 19th, 1979. Her signature bass guitar is the rare Yamaha SBV-800MF (SB-5a/7a and SBV-550) in blue.

Piko, on the other hand, is from Kobe, in the Kansai region just south of Tokyo (yes, he has the accent!). He was born March 11th, 1988. His start to fame was covering classic vocaloid songs since supecell’s “Love is War” on Nico Nico Douga and the amazing fact that he could sing as both genders with his best friend Sekihan (who has his own band). He’s physically very attractive and is still mistaken for a girl in short glimpses (to his amusement), but he has made it clear he is not gay and likes women (in fact, he’s very quick to remove a heavy wig). If he does “drag” then I’ve noticed it’s usually in a funny trolling sense or as a talent.

I’ve been listening these two practically my whole life along with Yuri Masada and Fukase from Sekai no Owari, because I’m a music junky, and they’re absolutely worth looking into.

Piko and Miki are almost a decade and half a nation apart, they were only under the same music label Ki/oon Records for a while. They’ve most likely never even met.

If they have met, I’ve rarely if ever heard Piko speak of his bank, let alone Miki. I know he has a copy of his own bank, and he's made music with Miku, Gumi, Rin and Len before (Chuutoro-P). Piko is still doing music work, streams, and YouTube now. Miki’s getting her SynthV release in December 2024 and she is doing quiet live shows and fashion work.

(In my series I decided to make them 1 year apart similar to their release dates.)

Their Designs:

While they are counterparts, no part of them is essentially “blood related”.

Piko’s iconic hair is the same as his mother’s to honour her, Utatane’s cowlick is just to differentiate.

Vocaloid Miki was about to have the similar short hair as in real life. I know this because I bought her artbook with KYMG’s concept designs. Supercar made a lot of laid back rock and almost meditative, space-like/romantic songs you could groove out/fall asleep to, hence her space theme. Furukawa has a cover of Saihate so you could tell she enjoyed Miku’s kz/Livetune era with songs like “Light Song” and “Packaged” (2008).

Piko’s entire design is specifically based on the discontinued (sigh) Yamaha RGX-A2 electric guitar in aircraft grey (other colours red, black, and dark blue), the aux jack to usb tail on the hem of his outfit falls with the computer instrument metaphor. It makes sense the two would be guitar and bass, since Miki is primarily a bassist who can sing and use a keyboard.

These two also have the same robotic joint markings, Piko’s are just harder to see because of his black sleeves and because his legs are covered, but people forget the elbow areas on the sleeves are actually transparent.

In conclusion:

Yamaha (I believe) wanted to launch an “Artist Edition” series at the time based on real musicians. The voices were Miki (Furukawa), Piko, Gakupo Kamui (Gakt), and Lily (Yuri Masada). If there were others, I don’t remember, but the “development code” thing was likely Heartfast’s idea pertaining to this theme by giving the two prototype sci-fi joints.

If the western fandom’s definition of “siblings” is by same company umbrella, then I accept that. Otherwise, I personally ship them very hard here because they’re totally unrelated and my goal is to give them the love they deserved and spread the word.

I hope this rant was educational.

BUT FOR PIKO - He's quite shy around new people, and is often seen with Vflower, who he views as a sibling. He's aroace and genderfluid. 15 years old, 6'2".

He LOVES strawberries. Just a lil fun fact :)

He has a lot of anxiety issues that Flower helps him get through. Flower also often tries to boost his ego, as it's practically non-existent.

More on his relationship with Flower - Piko and Miki(his sister :) ) have known Flower for about 10 years, and since then Flower has acted almost as his older sibling (despite her being a year younger than him). They are comfortable with being physically affectionate with eachother, which is rare for the both of them. Piko is somewhat afraid of contact with other people, while Flower has a bit of trauma surrounding it due to her past(which i may get into in another post if someone asks about it! Though, its darker.) Despite this, the two have grown close enough to trust eachother. Piko trusts Flower with his life. Speaking of that, Flower often protects him from possible physical fights due to Piko being quite frail on his own.

Piko enjoys reading and drawing, as well as painting and solving puzzles.

Hey, in response to Twilight Sparkle and the current ask game it's... a lil complicated?

In-character, I see myself and the other Vocaloids (and other vocal synths as well) as like AI? We all lived in this lil virtual computer world that's pretty close to the real world, but all of us were also coded to be distinct species beyond AI as well? For example, most of us (including myself) were programmed as humans, but there are a few exceptions! Let me list off everything I know off the top of my head, because it's interesting!

There's a lot of robots. For example, there's Piko, Miki, I think SeeU was one, and a few others?

The PowerFX Family are all some sort of monster. Sweet Ann and Big Al are Frankenstein's-monster type things, Oliver's a ghost, Hio's a vampire, I think Ruby was just a normal human who happened to be a witch, Aurum was a demon, and I forgot what Audine was, but I think she's like some sheep-person-creature thing?

I'm not exactly sure what Mizki (Vy1) and Yuuma (Vy2) are, but all I know is that they can turn into a paper fan and a kodachi sword respectively, like the things on their irl box art.

Everything that's considered "canon" is still there too, I think. Lapis and Merli are faeries, Tianyi's an angel, Lumi's a jellyfish-goddess thing, Hime and Mikoto are "plum blossom spirits" (whatever that means idk), Avanna's an elf, and so on and so forth.

Sorry for the long list! I really really really like sharing stuff about my in-character world!!! (I guess that's what I'm gonna call it for now because I'm still not sure if for a hearttype it would be my canon or just headcanons or what lmao)

Fandoms and media i want to write fanfiction from

Too many fandoms too little time, but i feel that i just need to put it somewhere to keep in mind that i actually wan to write some of this when i get break fron my main project.

Do i have a plot for any of this...? Well, nope. But will see.

Not yet sure if i want them to be some longer project or just some one-shots, but it depends on what idea i get about this.

CYBERPUNK EDGERUNNERS; some calmer but still cyberpunkish au where i can explore character without aligning with canon.

VOCALOID; either something about Miku's squad or the squad of Piko, Flower, Fukase and Miki. Fantasy maybe.

THE SIMS 2; townies that for sure! Strangetown is most tempting and propably it would be centered on Pascal, Nervous and Tycho as a family.

vocaloid -> singing synthesizer by yamaha. colloquial term, at least in the west, for other singing synths as well, like utau (free vocaloid, usually gives characters attached to voices more personality), cevio, synthv, etc

games? -> they exist! most are attached to crypton, who made the world famous virtual idol miku. usually the first one people know and the most recognizable. my grandma could recognize her (my mom can recognize len really easily cuz he’s my fave) (see my profile pic, at least at the time of posting this)

FukaFlower - Walking Together

Summary:

With a very special occasion coming around the corner, she tried her best to build up the determination to learn how to make something equally special for him. Unfortunately…

It had been quite a few weeks from their first encounter in the cafeteria.

Just like that first day, Flower was seated on the corner of a table in the noisy hall, still chewing on her Japanese-themed lunch, a salmon and mayonnaise rice ball, and still being quiet while the sounds of shouting students ensued around her.

Though this time, she wasn’t the only one sitting at the table.

“So… Valentines’ Day is coming up,” The blonde-haired girl next to her chirped, her teal eyes sparkling with excitement. “I wonder if anyone we know is gonna get confession chocolates today!”

“Confession chocolates?” Flower tilted her head at the phrase, a foreign set of words to her.

“Rin’s talking about Valentine Chocolate, Flower,” A too-familiar voice approached her as its owner sat down to her left, placing down his lunch tray while smiling warmly at her. “Since tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day, some girls might give chocolates to their crushes to confess their love for them,”

The red-haired boy had explained it so kindly that the tomboyish teen had not realised how much of an oblivious aura she was given off. Fortunately, another female student at the table decided to point it out to her. “Have you never heard of this before, Flower?” A girl with apple-pink, Rapunzel long hair looked at her quizzically, the small ahoge on her head bouncing in the air as she leaned in closer to the table, staring squarely at Flower with her eyes the same shade of her hair.

Before her victim could get intimidated into submission, the silver-haired boy sitting next to the staring student placed a hand on her shoulder, pulling her back into her seat as he spoke. “Give her a break, Miki,” He sighed in disappointment, shaking his head at his all-too-hyperactive sister. “It’s not like every person in the entire school would instantly know what Valentine’s is about,”

“But I bet you would know everything about it, wouldn’t you, Piko?” The final patron of the lunch table, a boy with the same yellow hair and turquoise eyes as Rin, teased mischievously, narrowing his eyes at the stern-looking young man who spoke. “I mean, it’s not like you were waiting to get any chocolate any of your crushes last year, or like you lingered in the school even after cleaning time when you thought that someone would give you chocolates then-”

“For the last time, Len,” Piko shot a serious, steely look at the cheeky junior, though the faint pink blush on his cheeks evidently proved what he was really feeling. “I only have one crush and no, that did not happen!!”

“Oh sureeeeeee it didn’t~” Much to Piko’s chagrin, Rin grinned widely at him, a playful glint in her gaze. Before long, the three of them were engaged in yet another small argument on the table, with the two troublesome twins mostly poking at the stoic Piko while Miki struggled to calm them down. Despite having seen this scene a dozen of times before, Flower couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. As compared to her dull, asocial lifestyle from a few weeks ago, this was definitely a sight that she would never get tired of, especially since the trio’s topic of argument was never always the same.

As that thought crossed her mind, the white haired girl found herself considering their conversation very carefully. Valentine Chocolate, huh… Though she was distant from others, Flower was by no means a stranger to the idea of Valentines’ Day, the one day of the year where couples would be spending time together on dates and love-struck teens would try to confess their deep, hidden feelings of affection to their crushes. It was not a concept that was foreign to her.

And yet, it was the first time that she decided to actually take part in the special occasion. All because of the redheaded boy sitting next to her.

“Hm? What is it, Flower?” The exact person she was thinking about suddenly spoke with his kind voice and sweet smile, and the young woman couldn’t stop her cheeks from reddening at the prospect of being caught staring at him. Get a hold of yourself, Flower…! She mentally scolded herself, quickly turning away from him as she muttered an apology. “N-nothing! Sorry about that-!”

God, she was being such a flustered idiot around Fukase, wasn’t she? Though… Giving it a bit more thought, she couldn’t really blame herself for falling for the enthusiastic, charming boy. From the very first day when she talked with him in the cafeteria, there was a warm feeling that bloomed in her chest every time she saw him walking by and waving hello at her, a slight urge in her that was aching for him to talk with her again with his child-like yet gentlemanly prose.

When they met the second time during their shared music lessons, Flower did not hesitate to introduce herself properly and encourage him to do the same. It was a feat that required a lot of courage from the shy wallflower, mind you, for she had never done such an informal self-introduction in front of anyone outside of the people she had to work with. From then, she learned of his name, Fukase, and that he was in the same music and English lessons that she had (she just never noticed him before, she assumed). As the both of them continued whispering to each other and passing little notes while their music teacher lectured about the pentatonic scale and arpeggios, she learned that they shared the same interests in music and sweets and that both of them had siblings that were a little too eccentric for their own tastes.

Before she knew it, Flower was talking with Fukase almost every day to the point when a day without them meeting up and chatting for a while felt incomplete. It was a strange thing for her to comprehend, really, how her interactions with this boy was starting to drive how she would feel for the rest of the day. How much she loved to see his bright smile and hear his cute laugh. Or to hear him kindly guide her through social norms that were completely new to her and hold her hand like how an older brother would.

And unfortunately, as one would expect, the teenaged girl soon realised that her ‘urges’ to have Fukase sit next to her whenever he was with her or the burning sensation on her cheeks that blossomed only when he was physically close to her were all visible indicators of her growing affection for the redhead. She liked him. Liked him in the sense that she wanted them to be more than ‘friends’.

Meanwhile, as the spectacle of Flower being embarrassed of looking at Fukase for too long took place, the four students who were previously at arms with each other were gazing on the two older students, the white-haired girl sporting a faint blush on her face while the red-haired boy focused on eating his lunch, seemingly oblivious to the person sitting next to him.

A knowing smirk soon spread amongst them like a contagious disease. It was clear in all of their minds of what they had to do next.

As soon as the school day ended, Flower rushed out of her classroom and made a beeline for the entrance. She had hoped to reach there earlier and see whether Rin or Miki were there first, since she had a very specific favour that she wanted to ask from them.

Much to her disappointment, however, was the two messages that she received on her phone as soon as she arrived at the iron gates.

Len & I had to go home first. Having dinner with our neighbours tonight. Sorry! - Rin (sent at 6:04pm)

Piko has a make-up class at home and I have a club meeting after school. Can’t walk with you today. Sorry. - Miki (sent at 6:10pm)

So much for asking them for their help. With her initial confidence fading away, Flower found herself frowning as she closed her phone and slipped it into her bookbag, her body leaning against the pillar behind her while the thoughts in her mind swam about. She couldn’t really blame the four of them for being occupied at this hour, she reasoned, since she was also at fault for not telling them earlier that she needed help with her request. And though the digital age gave her the opportunity to simply text them and ask for their assistance from there, Flower had already decided that her favour required her to ask them physically, lest she became too used to not speaking with people other than Fukase face-to-face.

“Heya Flower!”

The mentioned girl in question lifted her head to spot her closest friend trotting towards her, his brown bag slung across his shoulders as he waved to her with a wide smile on his face. The white bandage over his right eye reminded her of how much he stood out in the sea of students pouring out of the building, along with his iconic bright red hair and equally bright red cross pasted on his nose.

As he approached her, she finally found the will to speak. “Hey, Fukase,” She greeted him meekly, a sharp contrast of the excited tone that the boy had.

The smile on his face faltered a little when he realised that she was alone. “Where are the others?”

“Busy, unfortunately,” She sheepishly shrugged as she relayed the news to him. “Rin & Len’s got a neighbour visit, Piko’s got make-up classes at home and Miki’s at a club meeting,”

“Guess it’s just the two of us, then!” The boy jovially declared, hoping to lighten up the frown on her face. “You don’t mind it, though, do you?”

Flower quickly shook her head, though she could not deny the sudden pounding of her heart in her chest. It persisted to echo in her ears as the both of them walked out of the school gates together, standing side-by-side like a couple though their hands never touched each other. 

For a while, as they strolled down the sidewalk and entered the small town located in the outskirts of the school, the female teen struggled to not peer at her friend for too long at a time. Observing the red scarf wrapped around his neck to keep him warm in the chilly breeze… Studying his warm-hearted, gentle gaze… Flower was trying, really trying, to muster every ounce of courage in her being to say something, anything, to trigger a conversation between them. But no matter how much she wished for it, no words would come out of her mouth.

No sooner did she give up on her attempts to spark a conversation with him when the boy next to her suddenly stopped walking, his feet rooted to the ground as Flower took one, two steps forward before realising that he wasn’t by her side anymore. In a state of confusion, the short-haired girl turned back at him, her violet eyes narrowing a little at her friend’s strange behaviour.

In that moment, she miraculously gained the bravery to speak. “Fukase? What is it?”

For a while on that snow-covered pavement, a cool breeze of wintry wind blew past the both of them, cueing Flower’s fingers to hurriedly pull her winter uniform’s collar closer to her neck. As she cast her eyes downwards, hoping that the heat from her breath could help reduce the chill crawling up from her collarbone, she internally cursed herself for forgetting to bring a scarf that day, the aftermath of her waking up late from the night before when she was helping the shaggy-haired boy with his studies over the phone.

She was interrupted from her thoughts as an unexpected, warm sensation crawled up her nape, enveloping her in a small bubble of heat that burst from the object wrapped around her neck. Upon closer inspection, she noted that this object emitted an aura of warmth that paralleled its base colour; red.

… She couldn’t believe it.

As Flower turned forward, her eyes were locked with his stare, the gears in her head turning as she realised that Fukase had wrapped a scarf, his scarf, around her neck to keep her warm.

“ … Here,” He softly muttered in that same warm-hearted voice that he had used time and time again. “You kinda looked a little chilly back there so… Take this as a gift from me, heh heh,”

To say that she was speechless was a downright understatement. As the figure before her stepped back a little (much to her disappointment), Flower glanced at the new scarf coiled around her neck. In some way, this specific sight had sparked the confidence that she had lost a few moments ago, her voice quiet but firm as she asked.

“Hey, Fukase?”

“Yeah?”

“Can I ask you something?”

“Sure, what is it?”

She gulped. Time to ask for your big favour, Flower.

“Do you… maybe… know how to make Valentine Chocolates?”

“ … Eh?”

He was just about ready to face-plant into the ground and moan into oblivion. Smart move, Fukase, The redhead scolded himself, berating himself once again for acting like a dork around his friend.

Meanwhile, in response to his (presumably) dumbfounded expression, Flower continued with a sheepish smile on her face, the spectacle of it dazzling him. She was so cute. “I know that’s really random for me, but… Well… I kinda want to make some for… this guy that I really like…” At this point, she had raised both of her hands  and pressed her index fingers together shyly. “I wanted to ask Rin & Miki about it now, but since they’re not here…”

As soon as she had mentioned about the ‘guy that she really liked’, Fukase could feel his ears go deaf for a split second, the delight of walking home with her that afternoon floating away from his heart like a drop of water being lost in the sea. He couldn’t stop thinking about those words she said, the meaning behind them.

‘I kinda want to make some for this guy that I really like’

“I-it’s fine if you don’t know how…!” His white-haired angel held out her hands, frantically waving about like a panicked child, a scene that pleasantly surprised him. He wasn’t used to seeing her emote so much, after all. “I can probably just find a recipe online or something-”

“I know how to make valentine chocolate,” Fukase mumbled, shoving that growing ache down his throat, the madness mantra that he began reciting since the day he discovered his feelings for her reverberating in his head. Be happy for her. So long as she is happy, it’s fine. I’ll be fine. As long as she is… happy…

The white-haired teen widened her eyes. “Y-you do? Wait, but how do you know?”

“I got bored and tried to make some a few times before, heh heh…” Her friend cheekily replied, a joking smile breaking through his inner conflict as he posed dramatically like a drama student. “Tis the life of a sad single, wishing for someone special to give them their goodness-filled chocolate made with love and affection~” The trickster declared with the demeanor of a Shakespeare-obsessed fanatic, making the previously flabbergasted teenage girl giggle a little.

“Cut it out, you jokester,” She lightly elbowed him in the arm, though the tone of her voice sounded as if she wanted to hear him and his acting antics a little more.

“I simply cannot, my dear lady, for there is no fairness in my pursuit of love,” After hearing her laugh the second time, the eye-patch wearing boy ultimately halted in his acting stance. “Anyways, it’s probably too late for us to make it now but…”

He gave her a bold grin. “Are you free tomorrow?”

The question caught Flower off-guard. “Huh? What for?”

“I can come over and help you get all the stuff you need to make your chocolate, of course!” He insisted cheerfully, dancing about the sidewalk as the both of them continued their trek back home. “We don’t have any school tomorrow, after all. If we start in the morning, I’m sure we’ll be done by the afternoon. Though… Would you be able to give your chocolate to your crush by then?”

“I-I think so,” She stuttered a little, obviously embarrassed by the prospect of finally getting the chance to confess to her crush, the redhead reasoned. And even though there was a dark jealousy festering in his heart, he couldn’t help but smile at her cute, flustered self. “I can text him to meet somewhere after we’re done. I’m sure he’ll be free,”

“Nice! Then let’s meet by Hachiko’s statue at the Shibuya station tomorrow! I’m sure we’ll be able to get all the ingredients you need before lunch!” As if their environment was reacting to their conversation, the road up ahead conveniently forked into two directions, intending to split the both of them up as they headed to different paths back home. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Flower!”

She copied his ecstatic wave as her lips curled into another adorable smile. “See you!”

Even though the both of them were walking down different roads to different places with different people waiting for them at home, it was clear that the both of them were thinking of the same thing.

“Then… It’s a date… Isn’t it?”

Haku tends to say “Uwaah!” A lot. Uta’s catchphrase is “Yare yare...” (“Good grief...”) Taya’s catchphrase is “Is that sou, desu ne?” (“Sou desu ne” is basically “Is that so?” in Japanese. I combined the two. —Quirky behavior— Lapis carries around a toy wand and pretends to cast spells. Anon is just... chaotic neutral, in the way Luana and Isadore (OCs) are. She does things like eating Lunchables in the bathtub at midnight in the dark to prove that Lunchables float. Why midnight, and why in the dark? Because she doesn’t want dust bunnies to see her boobs. She’s also a very skilled mime. Kanon is wacky, and chaotic good. Like Luana and Isadore (OCs) but in a different way than Anon. She’s the type of person to immediately press a random button she found that says “Do not press.” She likes to annoy people with sound effects from her slide-whistle. She also likes playing dramatic kazoo. She also has clown skills, like juggling, and the ability to ride a unicycle. Teto is like Fuuko (Clannad) Taya is smart and dignified but... very clumsy and naive as well. Uta is badass, but kind of “chaotic dumb” in certain ways. Sometimes she forgets to do her homework while doing her homework. Don’t ask. Taya loves sweets, and his favorite is strawberry shortcake. He is also a good pastry chef... Uta is horrible at cooking! She is so horrible, that she makes things mega-explode! She is so horrible, she needs Taya to cook for her just so she can get by! Gakupo has some pretty sick ninja skills, just saying. Miki sometimes slips into “animated mode,” where she begins to act like a cute shoujo anime protagonist. Miki also sometimes runs with bread in her mouth when she’s late for school. When Ruko was late for school, she ran to school with an entire plate of breakfast in her mouth! Taya gets completely drunk after just a few sips of alcohol... Haku sure can hold her alcohol. She can beat everyone in a drinking contest... Nigaito is endearingly moe. He likes drawing pictures. Miki sometimes lends him cute manga about hamsters, his favorite animal. Ruby likes starfish for some reason. She always assumes every star-shaped item is supposed to be a starfish... Taya’s recorded voice has a tendency to break headphones. Nobody knows exactly why. Ruko is a very big eater. Akari likes stars. Ruby likes starfish. Piko likes stargazing. Yukari likes star celebrities. Nigaito likes the Big Dango Family song. Ruby tries to convince him that starfish are cuter and proposes the Big Starfish Family. Taya and Momo get into a rather heated argument over whether strawberries or peaches are better. Uta asks herself why she’s surrounded by airheads. Uta buys Taya a strawberry Squishmallow for his birthday. In no time, Taya is able to think of a personality and an extensive backstory for his new plush friend... Uta is impressed. Yukari fakes being mysterious and sophisticated to impress IA. It doesn’t work. —Funny Moments brainstorm!— Group chemistry! Misunderstandings... One time Taya tried playing Uta’s violin instead of his usual cello. He played an earsplitting tune and ended up breaking the violin. Not only does it just break, it comically explodes into little pieces! 46 of them to be exact... Taya mistook one of Akaito’s spicy habanero peppers as a new type of strawberry. He ate it, and it was so spicy that he temporarily lost the ability to speak.

“He’s just standing there... menacingly!” -Len, talking to Rin, referring to Kaito “Why did you set me on fire, Uta? Why didn’t you just write your essay?” -Taya ”Qingxian, I used your clarinet to unclog the toilet...” -Taya ”I am the darkness, I am the edge! I got this bruise falling from the ledge! Oh yeah!” -Zatsune “My voice is just naturally bass-boosted, I guess.” -Akaito ”You make the bass drop in my heart! I want to be together, with you.” -Yuuma, to Mizuki, in front of... everyone ”People all look the same to me. They all have two eyes, a nose, a mouth, arms, and legs. But Taya... you’re different. I can tell your soul apart.” -Uta “Take my hand... I’ll take you to a place where miracles happen.” -Taya. He was practicing lines from a short play he wrote himself. This captures Uta’s heart... “Take my hand... I’ll take you to a place where miracles happen... Now, shall we go?” -Taya, this time for real. He is reaching his hand out to Uta. He is trying to comfort her after an emotional moment. Both of them are about to cry. This is right before he confesses his love to her at the top of a hill under the stars.

Random details- Taya is very polite, and selfless. He's always willing to do favors for people. He speaks in polite language. He bows at many occasions (Even in this universe that takes place in the USA, and not Japan.) He is humble as well. These may seem like quirks or obsessions as first, but it stems from his feeling of obligation to do things for people and "not be a burden," because he had friends and teachers who treated him like a burden before. When his anemia caused him to faint or miss classes, everyone treated him as a burden. When he starts hanging out with Uta, she comments on how he feels like a butler and tells him to loosen up, it's okay to be a bit more relaxed, and selfish even. Uta is pretty sarcastic, blunt, and sort of kuudere, so it'll be interesting to see her with the pure Taya Uta just lost her passion to depression, but that's touched on eventually/later She's all like "I hate life" but that's because of depression Taya tries to help out Uta and make her smile but... he ends up upsetting her... When Taya finds out how depressed Uta really is he starts crying for her and saying "I'm sorry..." and Uta is like "Why are you crying? Nothing is your fault..." And Taya apologizes again and says it's a habit that he feels responsible for his friend's sadness. Uta hugs him. "I haven't been able to cry for years, so I'm a bit jealous..." She says. "But... I still don't want you to cry though... I like to see your smile, ok?" Well I think the day Uta finally cries is when something bad happens to her but Taya comes and saves her and then confesses his love for her And then come the waterworks, from both of them! ——— There are magical moments where all 46 characters come together and do or create something. Such as a musical play. Do all 46 characters eventually become a gigantic group of friends? Imagine the 46 of them renting out an entire restaurant... and all taking turns performing karaoke! ——— List the backstories, secrets, sad hidden depth, tragedies, stories... and quirks! Hatsune Miku (63.4%) - Miku has gotten pretty lucky about not going against any of the heavy hitters. But then again, what I consider a heavy hitter may not be accurate to reality. I'm still upset about Xingchen.

Curtain Call part 5

-Saturday, November 3rd, 20XX-

I was awake at midnight, thinking. Yesterday's performance, the first one, had gone so well...it surprised me, honestly.  

I'd known this group for a while now- they all joined Curtain Call about 5 years ago. I got to know each of them quite well, learning about their lives and different aspects of their personalities.

There used to be ten of them, but now there's only six since Dex, Daina, Flower and Miki asked to leave. They had all wanted to pursue something different in their lives, deciding they didn't want to be involved in music as a career. The six that are left are always fun to be with, unless something bad happened. Each of their personalities is fairly unique in some way, it's always interesting to think about.

SeeU is the chill, fairly average girl of our group. She was experimented on when she was young, giving her some technology that's implanted into her body. She has mechanical cat ears on her head, they also serve as speakers somehow. The other technology is unknown, but it's interesting. She always seems to find fun in things, or otherwise get lost in her own thoughts. Her collection of facial expressions is always fun to watch.

Piko is a bit more frantic, but it could be due to what he's been through. He's quiet and clingy, mostly staying near SeeU. When he was younger, he was also experimented on, but his experiments failed terribly. He would have died, if the government hadn't found the facility he was held in and sent the experimented children to the hospital. He's got a lot of technology in his body, and it's partly keeping him alive. He's social, but in a quiet way. He'll be reading while sitting with a group or just laying there, eyes closed but awake.

Kaito's a sweetheart who's always looking for affection. Since his parents abused him, he hasn't had much experience with real love and affection, and he's desperate for some. Personally, I find his affectionate nature cute, but it can be annoying at times. He's also quite emotional and gets attached to things easily, but he's really sweet and caring. He's very attached to Gakupo, his boyfriend, always giving him cuddles or gently giving him a kiss. Honestly, I feel a bit bad for Kaito- always being so affectionate just so he's sure that he isn't hated.

Gakupo's fairly chill. He's extremely observant and notices a lot of things- habits and mannerisms, emotions, certain patterns in random things. He's also kind of a sweetheart, but in a bit of a silent way. He finds it hard to say no, since he trained himself to do whatever anyone told him- he was a child prostitute. Despite this, he seems okay for the majority of the time. He does his best to live life as he can, enjoying music and friendships.

Luka is kind of like the closeted lesbian wallflower at a high school. Not to offend her or anything...it's honestly a bit cute, the way she is. She's very quiet and doesn't trust others easily, but she seems to trust Gakupo and Meiko more since they can relate to each other easily. She's very deeply in love with Meiko, and it's quite obvious to anyone who knows them both. She seems to get scared or intimidated in social situations, and avoids anything that could possibly be sexual. She seems a bit like she's scared to step out of her shell, as if she could ruin someone's life...

And then there's Meiko. I don't know as much about her as the others, but that's because she stays aloof and independent, putting up walls and shutting herself inside. She can get defensive or have a bit of a temper sometimes, but she's still pretty cool. She loves Luka very much, but shows it a bit less. She tends to shut people out a bit, like she's afraid of something...but she's always open and herself with Luka. We rarely see her cry or get upset, unless she gets mad.

I sigh and look at my phone. My reminders say 'Two days'.

November 5th is coming up fast. I hope we'll be able to make it a good day for Meiko...last year didn't work so well. We had been busy all day and she'd said nothing, but I could tell she was thinking we'd forgotten. At least we were able to do something for her.

I smile and sit up, getting out of my sleeping bag and getting out of the van, sneaking into the RV. The first things I see are Meiko and Luka curled up on the couch in each other's arms, with Oliver snuggled in between them. I walk into the actual bedroom to find Kaito and Gakupo asleep in the bed, with Piko and SeeU on the floor in sleeping bags. I smile, seeing that they're all comfortable, and leave the RV to go back to the van.

Hinata's snoring when I crawl back into my sleeping bag, so I pull my phone out and open a game to tire myself out with. For some reason it gets incredibly hard for me to fall asleep sometimes...

I felt my eyes beging to slowly close as I messed with the Pac-Man app on my phone. I sighed and put it away, curling up and closing my eyes. The stars shone softly outside, and everyone seemed to be happy.

"Two more days." I smiled as I fell asleep.

Also since it's Piko's birthday why don't we do what we did with Fukase and make a headcanon post for him. Let's see what I can come up with

So Piko is a robot boy living at the other side of town from the Cryptons, in a college dorm room with Galaco (so you can probably gather that the Cryptons don't see him as often)

He lives with Galaco because he was mysteriously "given" to her from his original creator that Piko himself barely remembers and is still looking for; Galaco won't say anything about it

Personality-wise Piko is a rather direct and stoic individual (for the most part, at least). He's incredibly blunt and snarky but also seems to be indifferent or apathetic about everything

He's the kind of person who doesn't really talk unless spoken to and even then he speaks very curtly, like he wants to end the conversation as soon as possible

This can make him sound mean but he doesn't really mean it; he's still silent but is pretty nice and thoughtful once you really get to know him

Despite preferring to be left alone most people pretty much ignore that wish so he's a pretty ineffectual loner (that said tho it's kind of good for him)

A lot of his stoicism comes from two things: he's like Luka in that he thinks machines shouldn't be given emotions and thus tries to squash them down, and also because he's rather convinced of the idea that his creator gave him up because he didn't want him and tries to deaden himself emotionally so he won't have to deal with it

However he is actually rather emotional without necessarily meaning to, he gets irritated/concerned fairly easily (but I can't say I blame him when he regularly deals with people like Galaco or Fukase on a regular basis)

A very responsible guy tho, he pretty much appointed himself the cleaning person of the dorm since Galaco won't pick up her stuff (he's her keeper of sorts)

Piko's attitude causes him to have few friends (plus he dislikes going outside) but he does still have some; he met Akari by saving her from being hit by a car and he grew to like her once she stopped annoying him to death, Len has been a consistent friend of his, and even if he won't admit it he considers Fukase a very, VERY odd on-and-off "friend" of his

I see him being a bit more "primitive" of an android than the Cryptons are, so he can't do things or doesn't require certain things that the Cryptons do (example: he charges and runs on battery while the Cryptons have a self-supporting system)

Galaco and Kiyoteru know each other and Piko has conversed with Miki; he sees her as a weird younger cousin but he tolerates her more than most people

I used to think he had electrokinesis and idk if that's still a thing but that'd be cool wouldn't it

His ahoge does not have wifi and if you ask him again he will slug you

He can actually detach his USB cord, Galaco found a way to do it without causing him harm because he got tired of dragging it whenever he went out

I like to think he's one of the few people in the Vocal Android world who is actually concerned about the fact the world almost gets destroyed every week

On that note he does everything in his power to not get involved with anything regarding the Crypton Crew's superhero shenaniganry

miku/rin/len - ultimate brotp honestly and each kagamine/miku ship happens to be one of my otps

piko/oliver/len - though i dont think oliver and piko would be that close they are still my favorites. piko and len are my fav dynamic

any combination of the cryptonloids - particularly luka/len, meiko/rin and kaito/miku (all of these as bros only of course)

miku/neru/teto/haku - a classic. for some reason i have a lot of emo feels for them (especially for neru/haku/miku)

cul/gakupo - I have so many emo headcanons for them too…..they are the best bro and sis ever

gumi/len - my former otp And i still have emo things about them ok. i have way more for gumi but ill just put this one only

iroha/miki - the best sisters ever they get along really well

Round 2 Has Finished!

Interestingly, the amount of people voting has significantly increased this round. Is it because there’s less matches, more people are aware of the blog, people wanting to vote the closer to the end a tournament is, or mixture of all of the above? I’ll probably never know.
