#still think abt the time an (adult) male relative told me (when i was 10) that I 'needed to lose weight or no man would ever find me sexy'#which IDK feels like a shitty thing to say to anyone but especially a girl who had yet to even reach puberty lmao#and who wasn't even That overweight at the time Nor had body image issues until that moment going forward lol#ironically... I ended up having some ED issues and gained a bunch of weight from then on#mainly bc i had some CSA trauma in my early childhood way before that conversation so I internalized the idea#that if I was fat no man would give me unwanted attention#however... this thought process (on top of other things) led me to believe for almost my entire life that no man would find me attractive#or like me or love me at ALL unless I either lose a bunch of weight and maybe not even then#which is kinda why I'm overall uninterested in men even if the attraction is technically there?#I lost interest in even male Friendships tbh bc i internalized this idea that no man would be interested in me even platonically 🤔#anyway. just something I'm working through in therapy but every once in a while I wonder why it's so hard for me to lose weight#and then I remember... ah yes.. [just venting a bit into the void you understand you understand 😌] Lately I've been feeling very caught between "I have a lot of thoughts on Sparrow and Normal and all that with the ending and teen talk and feel like I need to get them out and voice them for my own piece of mind and resolution" and "I am lacking the strength and energy to actually sit down and write it all out and kind of really just want to fully move on to other things (AUs, fics, anything else)" but my brain can't seem to commit to either and that's quite frustrating cause it's just left me very restless. *Sigh*. Idk! Just needed to complain about that a bit ig, it's silly but this is what has been ailing me as of late.
#Then there's also a part of me that's like “does anyone even care at this point? haven't I already talked about them too much?”#but I have seen many a take that irk me...#and perhaps at the center of it all nagging at me is that persistent conflation of love and pride#Less about that in Normal's mind so much as in Will's and the fandom's 🤔#Also that reoccurring issue of the fandom going ''Normal thinks this therefore it is The Truth'' though I believe I've discussed this befor#And... Hooks Will could have grabbed onto but didn't... Quite a few of those...#And the double standard/negativity bias in fandom of ignoring that Sparrow says both that he loves and likes Normal while doodlerized#But not treating those with the same legitimacy we do the pride thing. Also I had a spider-man dream! It was a viddy game and I was playing as Miles Morales and for some reason I was fighting. a giant Miles Morales who had Green Lantern powers. Hm. A lot of me walking up the stairs of skyscrapers and at the top remembering that I could have just swung up there 👍
#and at the beginning I had to like. escape from the cops. run away from the cops.#the cops had encircled an area that they knew spiderman was in and I had to sneak out past them#which took up most of the dream#then boss fight with Mega Miles when I beat him turned into a normal sized baby for some reason#doddie redet#BEFORE THAT I had a different dream but I guess it was in the same city#where I lived on top of a skyscraper (not paying rent) but I don't remember most of what it was about...#just that at the end a friend from highschool showed up & she could turn into a cat & i showed her where I live :)#as a cat btw. she spent most of the dream as a cat#who could talk.#I think before that she was taking part in a quiz show with me? 🤔 but that she did as a human#doddie träumt

thoughts on the song "you've got to hide your love away" ?
oh SO many. it's a beautiful song & you can definitely hear a lot of dylan's influence in it. it's an interesting one to me bc I can see it several different ways. like Of Course as a fellow dyke w my fags in arms I hear even the phrase "you've got to hide your love away" from a man in 1965 and my eyebrows go up to the clouds. & there certainly Could be some of that I think, whether he Was actually having an affair w paul (or any other man really) or just dealing with internalized homophobia.
but for MEEEE I think what compels me more about it is just like he said about it, he's trying to convey his emotions more in his writing instead of just projecting himself into situations (which started with if I fell and THAT makes me crazy) & the sentiment of "you love too much and too hard and you've got to hide that emotion because people will laugh at you" is incredibly sad & also does say a lot about him & go a long way towards explaining some of his actions in really Any relationship he was in, whether it's about a man or a woman or whoever. if Anything it just goes towards my (& many others lmao) conviction that that man would get a bpd diagnosis.
it's certainly... well I can't imagine a straight man writing that song & fully understanding the feeling, but more than that to me it's just an interesting look into his insecurities & head at the time re his own emotions

My only solidified theory on what Egbert may have done is that he had some part in harming a dragon or ruining efforts to restore gold dragons. The pieces are not all there. It's a little (a lot?) obvious. But with a little more information it would make sense and be very thematically appropriate.
IF it's the case my main question is then whether saving this gold dragon will be sufficient atonement for the Dragon Dor or if Egbert will spurn the Dragon Dor or not be granted atonement, but it'll be his personal Growth Moment, yadayada. Honestly I find it pretty funny how unconcerned Egbert generally seems with getting atonement and more want to know what is up for the drama and/or hilarity of it, and it's worth noting that while Egbert is very casual about his penance he's decidedly not happy to discuss what he did and remains cagey about it and wary of Shattershield.

Fun Fact:
I got an angry email from a parent last year because I showed Coraline in class. (On the last day before a holiday! Not even during normal class!)
They said I was unfit to be a teacher and that I was a 'threat to the spiritual well-being of (student)' because I subjected their (13-year-old) kid to 'unholy things'. They also said I had single-handedly shaken their faith in the school system.
Because I had shown Coraline. To a 13-year-old.
The most ridiculous part is that the kid went home and was talking about how much they *enjoyed* the movie. I'm not sure if the parent was just looking for something to get mad about or if they honestly think Coraline is capable of destroying the souls of the innocent. 🤔

so i think jay would do literally anything if he thought it would make you happy and the idea of him trying to convince himself that he’d be cool with a threesome is very funny to me. for example:

He pushes the front door open, letting you through first. “I think he went home with those two girls.”
You laugh, “That sounds right.”
He looks at you with questioning eyes behind a smile as he closes the door behind him.
You shrug, shaking your head as you continue on to the bedroom, him following close. “I’m under the impression that threesomes aren’t a rare occurrence for Dick.”
He grimaces, “You’re right.”
You busy yourselves with undoing the dress up from the gala, working in harmony.
You unclasp your necklace, placing it on top of your dresser carefully. “Have you ever done that?” you ask absentmindedly as you remove the rest of your accessories.
“No,” he says, like it’s uninteresting.
You smile, looking over your shoulder at him. “What? You’ve never wanted to have sex with two girls?”
He shrugs, “Never did it before, and now I don’t wanna kiss anyone but you.”
You hum to yourself, taking off your heels. You wonder if he knows how much of a romantic he is. He must.
He peels off his suit jacket, taking in your thoughtful expression with deliberation.
“But..” he hesitates, “I mean…if you wanted to, I would.”
You turn around, wordlessly asking him to undo your zipper for you, “Have sex with another girl?”
“No,” he pulls it down, shaking his head. “I’m not touching another girl.”
You slip your dress off and he immediately holds his arm out to you for balance as you step out of it. It’s not until a moment after the fabric hits the ground that you register what he means.
You look up at him, jarred, “You’d have a threesome with another guy?”
He shrugs again, sitting on the bed. “If you wanted to.”
You give him a funny look, smiling through furrowed brows. “What are you talking about? You’d never do that.”
“I…I would be fine with it,” he gets out, though you can’t quite tell if he’s trying to convince you or himself.
You tilt your head knowingly, “You would?”
He frowns, nodding. “Yeah.”
You plop down next to him, closer than you needed to. “You’d be fine with someone else touching me in front of you?” you ask, faux-awed.
He says nothing, only shifts in his seat and shrugs slightly.
You sit up on your heels, smiling to yourself as he struggles to maintain eye contact. “You’d be okay with some other guy taking my clothes off and kissing me?”
He looks genuinely sick at that which amuses you greatly.
You take his face in your hands, pulling him to look at you, “No, but it’s okay if he fucks me?”
“Alright, enough,” he rolls his eyes, grabbing your wrists to hold you still. “Fine. I don’t want anybody else to touch you, s’that what you wanted to hear?”
You nod, pleased.
His eyes dart across your face, taking in every detail with a heavy gaze. “Don’t want anybody else to look at you like that, they don’t deserve it.”
He pulls you in closer, head lowering to place kisses across the side of your neck. “You’re my girl, my beautiful girl,” he says, brushing your hair back. “No…don’t need anybody going near my pretty girl.”
He flips you around, laying you nicely on the bed underneath him. He leaves a line of open mouthed kisses down your stomach and thumbs at the band of your underwear as he looks up at you, “But what do you think, hm? You need somebody else to take care of you?”
You shake your head as you comb through his hair, “Mm-mm,” you smile at him, “Jus’ need you, Jay.”
He grins and presses a kiss to your inner thigh before pulling your underwear down your legs.
