i used to freehand comics all the time as a child and since the part i liked was the drawing part i would just draw panel after panel because i didn't want to stop drawing to think about icky icky words, plus the story TOTALLY still made perfect sense! to me! and noone else, but 'whoooo caaaaares omgggg its not like comics and sequantial art are a communicative meeediummmm lmaoooooo'. i spent my entire childhood telling myself stuff like "oh pfft I know this story by heart- ill SIMPLY remember the dialogue and write it later" ...and. I can't help but admire baby maiora's (call that a minora ba tm tsk) fucking audacity? hubris? confident wrongness? kid couldn't even remember to finish the comics in the first place? INCREDIBLE levels of unearned self assurance, wish that were me, genuinely- what an icon!!! anyway i think i have forever cursed myself

So... I did a thing because, man, y'all are wild! The response I keep getting for my silly take on a meme is insane and I appreciate every single like and reblog, you have no idea. So I made it into a wallpaper for my phone and thought "hey, maybe I should share it with my fellow critters?" So here it is!

Also, I don't know if it's weird to use your own art as background on your phone or whatever but I personally do when I'm actually happy with something I drew so, I edited it a little bit to make the picture extra warm and soft and comforting to look at... but it's only for smartphones at the moment. It's not exactly high quality either since it was edited on my phone using Snapseed but it gets the job done, y'know.

I'll probably try to make it a proper illustration at some point without the funny little texts here and there cause I kinda feel bad for keeping Pâté out of the picture but hey, I need my daily dose of Imodna and I got the little guy tattooed on the side of my calf so I'm good but y'all might wanna see him still, right? 😂

Anyway, let me know if you'd like to see a text-free version of the whole thing? Oh and maybe I'll add Imogen's scars this time around, I had a few fics in mind where Imogen probably doesn't have the purple scars and left them out for this so, just a thought.

In other words, blog updates are rare nowadays, and I barely do a thing here anymore, which I feel kinda bad for ngl.

I've built a loyal community here & appreciate all the support ridiculously much — not to mention that I've made many amazing friends through this blog —, so I came up with an alternative solution that combines memes with my current focus (art).

I'LL ALWAYS KEEP DOING IT but i wanted to say a thing that i've been thinking of recently! I'VE SOMETIMES HAD A LULL IN SOCIAL ACTIVITy which keeps me from looking at other peoples' things for a while. and so i have trouble sharing bc i wanna like. actually respectfully look at their art and genuinely have something to think or say about it and not just pull something out of my brain for the sake of 'here u go idk haha look at it' BUT SOMETIMES I GO TO LOOK AT CLANGENS PEOPLE SHARED THAT I HAVEN'T SHARED YET, AND I NOTICED THEY DIDN'T POST ANYTHING ELSE AFTER SHARING :( and i get worried that they didn't continue bc i didn't share it yet?! and they feel discouraged?!??! but i definitely don't want anyone to feel like bc i didn't show, they should be discouraged. MAYBE IT ISN'T THE CASE AT ALL AND I'M JUST WORRIED BUT IN CASE IT IS. PLEASE DON'T BEEE... Corazón de Tortuga

In honor of the beautiful moment of sacrifice and return by the ex-human pirate rogue of Andy Farrant from @outsidexboxofficial I've got one last version of this sea tortle Corazón. This time in something closer to the wonderful goth pirate captain outfit Bendix @thedustyleaves drew but tailored to fit on a tortle (without horrifyingly putting clothes under the back shell like some tortle art I found when looking up reference... that's like... Part of a turtle's skeleton y'all...)

(If anyone's been following the idea I had of why a sea tortle form would be fitting, this outfit being tailored for him would be like, the visual representation of him becoming comfy with this body imo. The long coat stays on like a coat despite not having a back due to the Makise Kurisu style arm belts, loops on the inside that clip to the pants belts, and a strap that goes just above the tail to help keep it pinned in shape.)

I think I forgot to mention when I posted this version, but in my head it step represents him reasserting his bodily autonomy. Like "if this is my body and not just a body I'm in rn it should have my tattoos on it." I took some artistic liberties with the bits that usually go under the coat.

Mostly did this one to get to the last two, but was really proud of the original sketch so I wanted a clean version of it shared too.

I have something I wanna get off my chest about him.

Laughing Jack has been my #1 comfort character for near 11 years now.

Because of this, I used to be obsessed with his creator.

Who well, is someone I do not support anymore, at all,

And so I often see people worried if they enjoy the character some people might think they condone the creator of Laughing Jack.

One think I know from someone who was once an avid fan of the creator I want to loosen up something that will hopefully bring comfort to those such as myself who love the character design.

Is that the creator in podcasts and his old youtube content I don't even think is up anymore is simply:

He has made his laughing jack, and OUR laughing jack that we all know n love are completely different now, and have been for years.

Kinda like a "Public Domain" thing with the classic laughing jack we all know. That he is ours, not the same as his own version. Last time I checked atleast he basically clocked out of everything online, idk now, but yea.

So go bonkers y'all, I love all y'all's art and interpretations, redesigns/rd's, story's and au's.

Maybe one day I'll share or make something more than a phone memo doodle of my own version or give a crack at some of the dtiys's a year after lmaooo we'll see.

I been really tired.

I don't like to share a lot about me irl but since I started job hunting this summer I just don't feel as "on" half the time if you know what I mean. I know a lot of people are like that, but I wish I had half the steam those same folks do to pump out whole art pieces and 10 page comics for this fandom. Some may say "aw you don't have to do that" and "focus on you" and half of it may be true but I just wanna give y'all 100 percent.

I want to give myself 100 percent.

I have been trying new hobbies in the midst of waiting for this game - new visual novels mostly, cus since discovering this game, I've just been so in love with the concept. All the push and pull for it's fruition is tiresome but I got all the patience cus I'm I love with the characters and story so much.

I used to not get how some people can feel like that - have a "comfort thing" - but I'm really feeling it during this uhh I don't wanna call sort of slump in my life. It just gives me something to look forward to most days.

But in the meantime, I obviously won't just wait on a game to make my life better. I'll be better for me, my family, and all you guys.

While preparing the dough Crowley is a bit too aggressive while kneeding the wet with the dry ingredients and he gets a cloud of flour into his face. Aziraphale chuckles and cleans his face with some wash cloth. They continue baking and having a great time. Though Crowley constantly steals the leftover dough from Aziraphale, after he punches out the forms with the cutter. While waiting for the cookies to bake and cool, they start making the icing and drink wine. Crowley kinda overdoes it with the wine and gets a bit tipsy. So at some point he just dips his finger in icing and holds it to Aziraphale's face, who gets all flustered but eventually eats the icing of Crowley's finger. (Which will definitely not end up a GIF that forever haunts both of them in their streams) When they finally start icing the cookies, Crowley is not just tipsy anymore but properly drunk. So half of the Santa cookies get penises or boobs or both. And Aziraphale just rolls his eyes, says "You're being silly" (yes, exactly in that voice!) and takes away the wine from Crowley.

I just found your good omens streamer au and I'm instantly obsessed, I love the concept and ideas so much. This scenario instantly came into my head aswell and I wanted to share!! Like Crowley just did a really long stream and wants to go sleep and doesn't end up fully stopping the stream by accident, so the viewers see him after he thinks he ended stream and he just calls out "Angel, I need hugs now" and just walks off without knowing the stream is still going. And everyone in chat goes crazy trying to let anyone know the stream is still going but also with the fact they saw Crowley switch to his soft side so quickly!! And either Anathema calls Crowley to tell him it's still going and he runs back cursing to turn it off... OR...Aziraphale goes into the room to maybe collect the mug of coffee he made for Crowley and finds the stream still going and the chat going MAD over it trying to get his attention but also freaking out that it's Aziraphale.

Theres nothing wrong with a naked body, but if its a naked body from a child And a minor (from a Baby to 17 year old to be exact), then thats not okay. Naked bodies are only okay if theyre coming from adults, sometimes not really.

I mean I do agree with you that this was a selfish act. But I wanted to add something. Rafayel didn't ask to be the sea god or whatever he was. I think it's reasonable to assume before he gave his heart to mc he didn't get to listen to his heart or have much of autonomy. Similar to Xavier or just the typical prince trope. I think while a selfish and morally questionable act,him giving mc his heart was an important and necessary thing for him to do.

Rafayel reminds me of the concept of angels in myths/art. Made to serve and serve only,with no choice but to live on forever doing so without ever even thinking about their own desires. If they choose to not be mindless workers 24/7 who will do the gods work? Who will make people's wishes come true? Who will help them? These questions might seem mindless if you haven't consumed as much angel media as me but I find the dilemma very interesting. Even though I clearly lean more towards angels and gods having autonomy. The show miracle workers was the start of this pondering I think. Wings of desire is a good one too. Angels last mission love is a kdrama with similar concept. Just recommending stuff incase you get interested too.

I disagree with your comparison to angels. Angels serve an ultimate authority and Rafayel "served" mortal people he was able to wipe out completely, it's an entirely different dynamic. You seem pretty set on viewing him as a victim who shouldn't be blamed for his wrongdoings, which I'm sure he's a victim to an extent (manipulation) but that doesn't absolve him of what he did. My thing is that he still did it and I'm not convinced there was no other way. Babygirl was a whole ass ocean god.

The last few years I've noticed more and more people across many fandoms feel like they can only enjoy characters who are morally correct and without flaws, because they want to stay up high on their imaginary pedestal of moral superiority. So what happens is they twist canon to fit their view of the character, seemingly ignoring things like *cough* the way he seems to not give a shit if mc dies as a result of him abandoning her in the water, or in the nest.

And I don't get it lmfao. Rafayel has such a unique love hate relationship with mc and y'all wanna just. Look away. Like why?? Because this is a toxic relationship where mc has a very unfair and dangerous power over him and he's forced to navigate this all alone?? That's an interesting dynamic!! It makes the story juicy!!

Korrasami Secret Santa 2023!! ;DD!!

Hi, Korrasami fam!! We're back!! ;D!!

We're doing Korrasami Secret Santa for 2023!! (Sike, I did not copy this part from Korrasami Secret Secret 2022, but the rest I will LOOL). 6 years and kicking, babey, let's go ;DD!!

The rules are the same:

Korrasami creators will be able to gift one another with Secret Santa gifts. Whether it be fics, art, videos, animations…the fun’s all there! (It doesn’t have to be holiday-themed! It can be whatever you want :)

The Process:

This Secret Santa exchange will be done through drawnames.com, which is a Secret Santa Name Generator. You’ll need your email for this, and you can message me it directly on Tumblr (I’ll gather everyone’s names up, and put them into the generator when it’s time to draw names.)

The due date to sign up is 11:59 PM Nov 30, 2023 PDT (I’d like everyone to have ample time to do their Secret Santa gifts). :)

Most likely, you’ll need to make an account on drawnames.com (you don’t need to, but it’s recommended.  When you get to writing your Wish List on there, under ‘Hobbies and Interests’, make two different lists: One for ‘Fic Requests’, the other for ‘Art Requests’. If a writer draws your name, you’ll have a suggestion for what you want them to write. If an artist draws your name, they’ll have an idea of what to create! (Also, originally, this project only had fanfic and fanart- but if anyone can contribute any other talents, that’d be swell!)

Example: Fic Request- I want Korra and Asami cuddling at home with a fireplace!

Art Request: I want Korrasami going otter-penguin sledding!

The fic and art requests can be the same, or they can be different. Please limit it to one, or if you can’t choose, then two options. You can also note things that you don’t want (i.e. No smut or NSFW work!). You can be as specific as you wish.

Also, everyone else! We recognize that there may be people in the fandom who don’t create content, but still want to contribute! @lamftw​ came up with these great ideas four years ago, if you’d still like to participate in the Secret Santa. You can:

Create Korrasami memes! The more memes, the better :)

Share your favorite Korrasami headcanons! We’d love to hear them.

Share your favorite artwork/fanfic!

Share your favorite moment from LoK or share how much Korrasami means to you.

Create Korrasami memes, write a sweet holiday message/ note of appreciation :)

Also, we can all show some love to our favorite creators, to Bryke, Janet Varney, and Seychelle Gabriel (the voice of Korra and Asami, respectively). :)

When everyone has signed up, I’ll put all the names into the Secret Santa Name Generator. You should get an email, asking you to join the Secret Santa exchange. Just click ‘Join Group’, and you’re good! Once everyone has joined, the names will then be drawn, and you’ll get your chosen individual (you’ll get an email for this too). Please remember to check your email on Dec 1; we cannot draw names unless everyone has joined the Secret Santa group!

The reveal will be on Dec 19, 2023 (the 9th Korrasami Anniversary ;DD). Post your work on Tumblr, and tag the person you got, so they’ll know what lovely work they got! Also, please tag ‘Korrasami Secret Santa’ so we can save these posts for the future :).

Am I delulu?

Anyways... seriously y'all. I started publicly sharing B/V stuff in March. I'm just a girly from Boston who is obsessed with ice dance and the athletic, emotional moments it creates. I also enjoy its connection to art. Their 2023 FD reminds me so much of the above painting. I like to post comparisons and Kiki with the girls. Ice dance slays so hard bc I've never seen anything like it before! I really earnestly just enjoy all of the mechanics.

The dedication, the performance. Y'all caught me vicariously living, babes! We all wish we could've been something like a ballerina or an ice skater. Seeing Bella skate, inspires me to do the things that little me dreamed of. Still! Which I enjoy just as equally. Because everyone seems so grumpy all the time and I love having something to cheer for and believe in. I've competed for 2 bike races since following Bella. Because I'm rooting for someone who does cool stuff and think, wait I can do cool stuff too. And the duo for sure inspires me to paint and write and listen to good music and all that other important stuff. Like a good tv show or my favorite book would.

But this is my crutch, y'all. These are very real people. Celebrity and influencer culture makes us depersonalize the figures sharing their lives. I can def see how I get lost in the delulu of their skating story, and Bella's underdog lore (which is mainly why I'm here y'all). I know it's still a risk that skaters can see this post, but I just wanna yap to no one about how weird the modern world is. And I think Tumblr is probably the most private place out of all socials to yap anyways.

So, my point. I feel weird! I feel so weird making edits and talking about how inspired I am by these strangers, especially when the inspiring strangers can see😭. Bella follows my insta account (as well as a bunch of others) bc she's a cool and connective girl broooo like Bella pls don't unfollow girly I'm just saying I don't wanna freak anyone out 😭🫶. Cause I couldn't imagine all these people being so focused on my life and what I do, it might stress me out bad yall.

I know I'm delulu, but more so I'm sensitive. That's why I like this sport. And I like to chit chat!!! Combined with this hyper digital, often fantasy focused world we live in (movies, tv, sports, books) I don't want to be confused with some crazy person who can't decipher boundaries bc I run an active stan account. And no hate to my fellow Stan accounts, this scenario feels unique bc ice skating fan accounts have audiences that often include people in the skater's communities or families, if not the skater themselves. It's not like I'm posting about Taylor Swift who won't see it. Girl, my T-swift is 5'ft tall and can jump 6ft high in the air. Her Eras Tour starts in Lake Placid this July😭. And you bet your ass I need to talk about it!

But I also gotta remind myself that this isn't my favorite TV show but people's real lives. Like fr. Sometimes the competition is so good you'd think it was scripted, y'all. God, like let me keep yapping forever huh?

Anyways, I am so glad I get to connect with my favorite athlete, as I'm sure her other fans appreciate it too. She's honest and open to chat for a reason, it keeps us feeling like we are on the road to the Olympics with her. I'm gunna keep posting cause I love the idea of turning all of booktok on her lore and getting a million people to root for them so I can see them at freaking SKAM 🤨. The conversation between influencer and audience is just hella interesting. And I hope I'm towing the line okay!
